- Cat Fisfis: Welcome to the Brand Bitch Podcast. I'm your host, Catherine Visfis, brand strategist, creative director, and founder and creator of the Brand Bitch. After spending the last 15 years scaling businesses, investing over six figures, and starting over more than once, I finally realized something. Businesses don't become unforgettable because of better marketing. They become unforgettable because their founders become recognizable. Every week we'll challenge conventional business advice and explore what it really takes to build a recognizable brand. And a business that is unmistakably yours. So if you're ready to stop chasting visibility and start becoming the obvious choice, you're in exactly the right place, my friend. The world doesn't need another founder trying to fit in. It needs more founders brave enough to become unforgettable. So let's build a brand they'll remember, shall we? Okay, I think we're using AI backwards. Hear me out. Everybody wants the prompt. What's your ChatGPT prompt for captions? What's your prompt for emails? What about the one that makes chat or Claude sound exactly like you? What's the magic prompt that creates a month's worth of content? Alright, prompts matter, yes. But a prompt can only work with what you're giving it. You can tell chat, let's go with that for the example for today. Write this in my brand voice. Okay, what the hell is your brand voice? You can say, make this aligned with my positioning. Did you actually tell it what your positioning was? Speak directly to my ideal client. Cool. Who is that? What does she believe? What has she tried already? What does she actually want? Make this sound like my point of view. Really? First of all, do you even know what your point of view is? And have you told your AI? Cause that's where we're getting this all wrong. Your AI does not need another freaking prompt. It needs your brand's back end. That's what we're gonna dive into today. I mean by your brand backend? So when I say backend, I'm not talking about your website backend or the funnels or automations or tech. Yes, those are very important. But I'm talking about their strategic. Intelligence underneath your brand. It's all of the information that exists well before your content. Before the caption, before the email, before the sales page, before the podcast, before you ever ask AI to create anything. Your brand should know very specific things. Who is it? Who is it for? What does your brand believe? What does it sell? Why do those offers matter? What makes its approach different? What it wants to become known for? How is it supposed to communicate? What proof actually supports those claims? And then How does all of that translate into content and sales? That is your back end. And when those things aren't defined, every single time you sit down to create something, any piece of content at all, you are asking AI to rebuild that shit from scratch. How exhausting. Like, I can't even fathom every single time you sat down at your computer to do that. That was exhausting well before AI. Now it's just exhausting even faster. You see, AI doesn't fix an unclear brand. It scales one. This is a major point I need you to pay attention to, okay? AI is an amplifier. If you feed your AI clarity, it's gonna amplify clarity. If you feed it strong positioning, it's gonna help you communicate that positioning in a thousand different ways. If you feed it a distinct point of view, it can help you develop that point of view into podcasts, emails, carousels, reels, sales copy, anything. But if you feed it nothing, It's gonna fill in the blanks with whatever it wants. That's when we get things like: here's five tips to elevate your business. With a generic hook, a generic call to action, generic advice, generic everything. And then you have people saying, my gosh, this sounds like so AI. Well, yeah. Sometimes AI content sounds generic because the brand information going into it is generic. That's the difference. You see, AI isn't creating this sameness problem. It's exposing the fact that the sameness was already underneath the brand. The prompt is the instruction. The back end is the intelligence. All right, I want this distinction to be super simple. AI one side, your back end on the other side. Your prompt tells AI what to do. Your back end tells AI who it's doing it for, why it matters, and how your brand thinks about it. Let's take a look at a couple examples. All right, prompt only. Write me an Instagram caption about why consistency matters in branding. Make it bold and conversational. Yeah, it would probably be fine. imagine the AI already knows what I believe in. Repetition over variety. Recognition matters more than visibility. That your market responds to your brand before it responds to your offer. It knows my audience. Skilling founders who are visible but are not becoming recognizable. It knows my tone. Direct, conversational, editorial, occasionally spicy, never corporate marketing bullshit. Now, when my AI knows all of that, we're gonna go a little bit different. Now I say, hey, write me a caption about consistency. Completely different starting point. That prompt didn't suddenly become brilliant. The context behind it did. It is a big fucking difference. Okay, let's talk about what actually belongs in your brand backend. So if prompts aren't the back end, what actually is? Identity. Who are you? What is the brand becoming? What does it stand for? What does it refuse to become? Positioning. Where do you stand in the market? What problem do you solve? What makes your approach distinct? Why you instead of somebody else? Audience. Who are you actually speaking to? I'm not talking about thirty-five to forty-five year old women who love coffee and a Target shop. No. What does she believe? What is she struggling with? What has she tried? What is she tired of trying over and over and over again? What does she think her problem is? And what do you believe her actual problem is? Four. Your offers. What do you sell? Who is each offer for? What transformation does it create? How do your offers actually relate to one another? Five. Point of view. This is exactly what I was talking about in episode five. What do you believe about your industry? What conventional wisdom do you reject? What do you see differently? What are you willing to repeat until people associate that idea with you? Six, your messaging. What are core messages underneath your brand? What's the language that you use repeatedly on a daily basis? What ideas need to show up over and over again? Your voice. How does this brand communicate? What does it sound like? What does it never sound like? What vocabulary feels natural? What vocabulary makes you want to throw your laptop at a wall? Do you curse? Yep, I do. So if my AI spits something out where it is perfectly clean language, shit, you're gonna know that did not come out of my mouth. Number eight, your proof. Why should somebody actually believe you? Testimonials, results, client experiences, stories, case studies. Your own transformation? Most likely you started a business because you were transformed by what you did. And you wanted to help other people. There you go. Talk about it. Content. The ninth thing. Notice how it is number nine. Nine. Where's my hands? Here we go. Those of you watching on YouTube. There's only one left for ten. This is the ninth thing. Content. Now we get to decide how all of that actually gets expressed. That's intentional. Your content should come from your brand strategy. Your brand strategy should not be reverse engineered. from whatever you happen to post this week. So number 10 is your sales. Remember, we're still on a list of things we are feeding our AI before we ever ask it for anything. How does this brand sell? What journey does someone take going from? I saw Kat, I understand Kat, I remember her, I trust her. Ooh, I want what she has. I need to buy from her. And then AI gets topped right on top of all of that. It is not a foundational layer. It is the tool. Okay? The tool accessing everything else that we just built underneath. I'd say that's pretty damn different than how most of the world is treating their AI. But not you. Not after we finish today. But Kat, ChatGPT already knows me. Are you sure? I used to think mine knew me. Her and I were the best of friends, and yes, my Chat GBT is female. Maybe it knows a lot about you. Maybe you've been talking to her for over a year. But ask yourself this. Does your AI know these things intentionally? Or has it pieced together a version of your brand from hundreds of random conversations? Because there is a big ass difference between things you have said and things that are given to your AI. intentionally as a source of truth for your brand. Your back end is that source of truth. That is what we are building. Okay, here's what I want you to do after this episode today. Open whatever AI tool you're using. I don't care. I'm not promoting one over the other. You do you, boom. Ask yourself this. Would your tool know confidently the answers to these questions? Who my ideal client actually is. What makes my positioning different? What I sell and how each offer fits into my ecosystem. What I believe about my industry. What I want to become known for. What language sounds unmistakably like me? What language would I never use? What proof backs up my claims? What ideas do I intentionally repeat? And how do I move someone from in my audience to a buyer? Do not, I repeat, do not answer these questions with, maybe. Kinda. Could another person pick up your backend, feed it to AI, and get something that genuinely sounds like your brand? Another person could be a virtual assistant, it could be a business partner, it could be your kid that you're trying to teach business skills to. If they cannot easily pick up your back end and feed it to AI and get something that spits out that sounds everything like you, you do not have a prompting problem. You have a back-end problem. That's an issue. Here's the bigger conversation, friends. Gonna get little up close and personal for this. AI makes brand more important, not less. There's this idea that because AI can create everything now, branding somehow matters less. Well, I beg to differ. I think it is the opposite. Everybody has access to content creation, copywriting, design, research, ideation, automation, execution becomes less differentiating. So what's the part that's actually more valuable? Perspective, taste, judgment, experience, beliefs, trust, reputation, identity. Brand. The easier content becomes to create, the more important it becomes to have something worth saying. AI makes creation easier, yeah. But it does not make you worth remembering. I'm gonna introduce you to something called your brand backend. This entire conversation is actually why I have been building something behind the scenes over the last few months. I've watched founders use AI. I've watched my clients use AI. I've watched people spend hours trying to engineer better prompts. And I kept coming back to the same thing. We're solving the wrong problem, people. So I built your brand's back end. This is a system designed to actually document the intelligence underneath your brand. Your identity, your positioning, your offers, your point of view, your audience, your voice, your proof, your messaging, your content, your sales, your brand. So instead of asking AI to invent your brand every freaking time you open a new chat, you're giving it a brand to work from. I'm gonna be sharing a lot more about this in the coming weeks. So stay tuned. Here's what I want you to take away from this episode. Stop collecting prompts for a minute, please. Before you ask, what should I be telling AI? I want you to ask it this. What does AI actually know about my brand? Because the future isn't gonna belong to whoever has the biggest prompt library. It is not gonna belong to whoever can create the most content. You know who it's gonna belong to? The brands that know exactly who the fuck they are, the brands that know what they believe, who they're for, and what do they want to become known for. Then they're gonna use AI to amplify the shit out of it. Your AI does not need another prompt. It needs your brand's back end. Thank you for hanging out with me today and letting me be just a small part of your journey. If today's conversation made you think differently, dream a little bit bigger, or reminded you of who you're becoming, I would be so grateful if you left a rating, a review, or shared this episode with another founder. Because every time you do, you are helping another woman realize that she already has what it takes to build a business and a life that actually feels like her. You will find today's resources, links, and everything we talked about in the episode in the show notes. And until next time, please remember, you do not become recognizable by becoming someone else. You become recognizable by becoming more of who you've been all along. I will see you in the next episode. And if no one has reminded you lately, you are enough, you are capable, and you already have what it takes. I'll see you later, friend.
