- 0:20Favorite happy places her chicken coop, along with all her
- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop so today I want to tell
- 0:31you, one of my favorite quotes from Theodore Roosevelt.
- 0:34It's hard to fail, but it's worse to have never tried.
- 0:37And I love this quote so much. Well, first of all, he was such
- 0:41a great leader and he had such great attitude toward things.
- 0:43But this particular quote is so awesome because it's one of
- 0:47those things that we constantly want to believe in ourselves
- 0:52that will keep doing, and we'll keep making attempts, and we'll
- 0:54keep making attempts. But the truth is, we give up way
- 0:56too easy on things, and it's something that I Of the things I
- 1:01recognize out in my chicken coop that I just love because the all
- 1:04like, all these little baby chickens that are out here, they
- 1:07just don't give up. They just keep doing it.
- 1:08They try to get up to the rafters.
- 1:10They try to get up the in the coop, higher with a big girls
- 1:13go, they can't do it, they just keep trying.
- 1:15If it doesn't happen on Wednesday, they'll try again,
- 1:17Thursday. If it doesn't happen Thursday,
- 1:19they'll try it on Friday. They just don't give up.
- 1:21And I think that sometimes as human beings we become
- 1:24conditioned to say, well, I tried and I tried three times
- 1:28and I give up and It really is a question of how much fortitude
- 1:34do you have? Are you willing to say, I don't
- 1:37have to try something, just once.
- 1:38Twice, five times, I'm willing to keep going.
- 1:41If it's something that you believe in, it's something that
- 1:43you really want, you know, when you think about the things that
- 1:50have gone on the inventors in this world that have done things
- 1:53over and over and over and had multiple failures until they had
- 1:57them work, they just were so committed to their outcome.
- 2:00They would just keep going and it didn't matter how many times
- 2:04whether it's you're talking about Edison and the light bulb.
- 2:07I mean he failed a thousand times according to the reporter
- 2:11that was interviewing him. And the truth was when Edison
- 2:15heard that he said no, no no I didn't fail.
- 2:17I just found out what didn't work, literally a thousand times
- 2:21to get it, right? How many of you would be
- 2:24actually willing to say, you tried something a thousand
- 2:27times? It just doesn't happen.
- 2:29We just Consider it and keep doing it.
- 2:32What we do is we say okay well I tried that 10 times and it
- 2:34didn't work out for me. So therefore I'm not going to do
- 2:38it instead of just saying hey you know what, this is something
- 2:41I'm really committed to and I'm going to make it work, whatever
- 2:44I have to do and that's the part that's so important.
- 2:48It's that you got to keep going and you got to keep saying if I
- 2:51really am passionate about this is this is something that I
- 2:54really want. Then I have to make sure I'm
- 2:57willing to keep giving it a shot.
- 2:59So, Times we have to. This is one of those moments
- 3:03where you actually have to look at your goal again and go.
- 3:05Well my really committed to this, is it something I really
- 3:07want? Is it something that somebody
- 3:09else wanted for me? Because sometimes we just aren't
- 3:11as committed as we think we are because it wasn't something we
- 3:13wanted to begin with. So again this is all back to
- 3:17that original piece about finding out what is it that you
- 3:22you know, have as a level of commitment are you 100% in or
- 3:26you 75%? Because I can assure you on
- 3:28things that I'm 75% in on Or 60% in Lon.
- 3:32I'm not pushing the gamut. I'm not going out there and
- 3:36going all in, but when I want something, I am Relentless and
- 3:41that's the exact word my husband uses for me because he'll say,
- 3:44oh my God, you just don't quit. Well, it's because I'm 100%, I'm
- 3:49all-in. But how many things are like
- 3:52that? There are some things in our
- 3:53world that we're just not all in on and it shows up in these
- 3:58moments when we have these types of situations, I swear, I don't
- 4:01know. Am I all in or not?
- 4:03So, going back and trying to figure out You know, is that the
- 4:08reason is incredibly important in the process and recognizing
- 4:13even before you start something where your level of commitment
- 4:16is because it's not about failure.
- 4:20It's about saying I'm committed and I'm going to do it and just
- 4:23like this quote, it's like you've got to try those things.
- 4:25That are our passion for, you got to go out there and say, I'm
- 4:30willing to pour into it because I am 100% in.
- 4:34I want this, I'm going to do what it takes.
- 4:37I am so attaching my name to this.
- 4:41I'm going to go out there and go nuts, making it happen, those
- 4:46things excite you. They exhilarating they pour into
- 4:49your soul and they just make you feel amazing.
- 4:52You know, if somebody right now that I'm coaching this writing a
- 4:55book and Writing a book is a very long Endeavor for a lot of
- 5:00people. And for some people, it comes
- 5:02easier than others. But I can tell you that because
- 5:05the process is such a hard and difficult one, often times.
- 5:09It gets very stretched out, and then your intention and your
- 5:13energy Wayne's during the process.
- 5:16And I have to keep coming back to basics and saying with him.
- 5:20Okay. What excites you about this?
- 5:23What are those things that light you up so that he can come back
- 5:27and say, wait I'm not giving up. I-i'm in this, I'm doing this,
- 5:31I'm going to make this happen because I want to be the person
- 5:35that didn't give it up on it because so many people have an
- 5:38Unwritten book. You might be listening to this
- 5:40right now and be saying to yourself.
- 5:41I'm this person she's talking about because it's a it's one of
- 5:45those things that so many Want to do but they don't do it.
- 5:47So if you are in this process and you are writing a book and
- 5:52you haven't done it because you're just, you know, not
- 5:56excited about it anymore. And you haven't been Associated
- 5:59to it in a while, but you still want to do it and it's still a
- 6:01passion. This is where you have to jump
- 6:03in and say to yourself. You know what, it's far worse to
- 6:07know that I just gave up and didn't even try.
- 6:12Then it is to do it and fail and have it just like, you know, Who
- 6:16cares, who cares? Failure is the giving up
- 6:22process. So, put yourself out there
- 6:26really check in with yourself and recognize.
- 6:30I'm not going to give up, I'm going to go after what I want.
- 6:33So write the damn book. Do the things that make you feel
- 6:36excited and exhilarated. And hopefully, this was a good
- 6:39kick in the butt this morning and I will see you tomorrow.
