- Abby: Welcome back everyone. It's me and Chelsea. Yay. I'm so glad to be back together. Chelsea Henderson: Thanks for joining us. It's us, yay! Abby: We've been having some internet s kerfluffles happen and we haven't been able to record together for a while and I'm just like so jazzed to be back. You and me. Yeah, I miss you two. Chelsea Henderson: Like I've missed you. We've we've been of course like texting and voice noting, but I don't know if this space is especially because you don't live here anymore. Like this space has become Abby: I know. Chelsea Henderson: such a place to feel like we're connected. And I don't think I think this episode will probably come out before Ariana's, but you know, keep an ear out l for Ariana Smith who's gonna be with us. And she said this during our episode where she said a little ways in that she felt like she was out of sleepover. And I loved it so much it stuck with me. Abby: That's exactly what I'm going for. That is exactly what I'm going for. Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: Exactly what I'm going for too. And it is how I feel. Or I'm like, we just had one of our little hangouts, and it's like really sweet. So I've missed you. And I've Abby: I've missed you too. Chelsea Henderson: got my little Ganesh here right in front of me, my little desktop altar. Abby and I got each one together when we Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: were together in Salt Lake City. So he is here removing any obstacles that might get in our way. And I th Abby: Amazing. Chelsea Henderson: look at him every day while I'm working. So you're always with me. Abby: I love him. I love mine too. He's on my desk over there, but he's with us. Chelsea Henderson: Me too. Me too. Love. Love. all right. So then we had talked about the idea of just sitting down today and talking about what we've what this year has been like so far for us, like a little kind of Abby: Mm. Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: review. And I'm super excited about that Abby: Wow. Chelsea Henderson: because okay, I will note that Sarah Carter. Dr. Sarah Carter, of the Netherlands that was on our podcast earlier in the year. we follow her on Substack. She's an amazing writer. She's an amazing person. Everyone should follow her. And she wrote out this one of her writings this week was about how she did an audit like of her successes as a business owner so far. And that it was really illuminating for her to see everything she's accomplished. And I feel like Abby: I love that. Chelsea Henderson: That really struck with me because it's so easy to be in these spaces, like trying to contribute positively to the world, trying to create a business, trying to create these offerings like a podcast, and get a little in the weeds with it and forget Yes. Yeah. Yes. Abby: Yeah. Just the pure task management of it. And you forget to celebrate. And likewise I was listening to a podcast, it's Theology's podcast with Allie Ward. She's Chelsea Henderson: No. Abby: hilarious. It's amazing. And they brought in she brought in two researchers that research like social behaviors and they were talking about the importance of celebrating. And you know, looking back in history and like celebrations and feasts and like it's such an integral part of a healthy, well-functioning, happy human society is that there's lots of parties and that it's so important to celebrate. Weddings, christenings, you know, births, baby showers, wedding showers. Like we Chelsea Henderson: huh. Abby: love to have parties and celebrate each other. And that the research shows that the more that you celebrate, each other and yourselves like the happier you are. And so yeah, I was think would be such a good idea to just kind of celebrate and talk about what we've done since we Chelsea Henderson: Love it. Abby: started in like started the talks in like December to start a podcast. And now it's Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: September. Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Well, actually, I will say I was looking back at our recordings and we actually started recording in late September, early October of last year. Yes, we did. So we've actually been doing this pretty much a Abby: No way. It's been a year. Chelsea Henderson: year now because we didn't actually put any of the episodes out until January, which was of course Abby: That's right. Chelsea Henderson: one of your beautiful ideas of like, let's just wait until we're like launch officially, put everything out, and we have got a backstock. It was brilliant. And so we put out in January and we've been consistently posting these episodes and recording these episodes since then. So technically it's been a year almost for Abby: Wow. It's cool. Chelsea Henderson: us within like a week or two. And that's really exciting. And the podcast has been out live in the world since January of twenty twenty six, which is this year. And so that's like a massive celebration. That's a year of us bringing our business heads together and making a thing. It's been a year that, you know, we've been in engaged in Modern Sacred together. So that's freaking cool. And then the podcast will turn a Abby: Very cool. Chelsea Henderson: year in January, officially in terms of its like liveness in the world. So Abby: Well. Publication date. Yes. Chelsea Henderson: yes, that's exciting. And I I was reflecting Abby: Wow. Chelsea Henderson: on so we've had a lot of conversations, right? I think we've had some really cool ones. We've talked about Abby: Mm-hmm. Chelsea Henderson: And yet there's like so many more to talk about, right? We've talked about the she economy. We've talked about friendship and community. We've talked about, you know, some of the different kind of emotional elements there are to womanhood. And we've talked about astrology. Then that brings us to guests, right? We've had a guest on to talk about astrology. We've had Abby: Yes, had some amazing guests. Chelsea Henderson: a guest on to talk about Functional fitness, Ayurveda, AI and technology safety. Like this has been a cool year. And what I have reflected on is how that has made our like community grow. Like, how does that feel to you? Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: Like I feel like we have now these people have become like our friends. Like they're part of this community that we're building. And it feels like a wealth Abby: Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: to me. Like Abby: Me too. It feels like just the best non ending sleepover of all of these Chelsea Henderson: Yes. Abby: incredible cool girls. I'm like I hate to call them Chelsea Henderson: Ha Abby: girls, women. Yeah, just being like, my gosh, like I am just loving A, getting to talk to these women. I mean, what an amazing opportunity to be able to meet women doing such incredible work and have them reach Chelsea Henderson: Mm. Yeah. Abby: out. and be like, hey, I'd love to have a conversation on, you know, this topic on Ayurveda, on AI ethics. And I'm like, Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: yes, I would love to talk to you. Like, what? You wanna talk to me? I you know, that little homeschooler Chelsea Henderson: Yes. Yes. Abby: in me is always like, What? I have such cool friends. Like, how did this happen? yeah, if you'll and in terms of the community, Chelsea Henderson: I love it. Abby: with what you and I are building next, in terms of hopefully you know, you know, we are building a membership space and a place for Chelsea Henderson: Yes. Abby: our practitioners, all these amazing women, to come and do more with us live with all Chelsea Henderson: Yes. Abby: of our friends at Modern Sacred, all of our people in both Chelsea Henderson: It's like the best thing ever. Abby: of our lives. Because I'm like, I want to talk more about perimenopause and hormone changes and strength Chelsea Henderson: Yes, yes. Abby: training. I want to learn more about kitchery cleanses with Ayurveda like seasonal Cleanses and I want to do it with my friends in a live way where we are asking questions and doing it together and and all all of that, like creating a space for all of these incredible w practitioners to come and Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: share their wisdom live is so exciting. Chelsea Henderson: Yes. And to do it together. You know, I I think that has been the thing that has been so modernly sacred about this whole dang enterprise is just it's so fun to recognize. Like one of the things that has been almost crippling for me growing up in this time is that there's so much choice and it's a beautiful thing. Like I got to leave Abby: Mm. Chelsea Henderson: Florida because Fundamentally, my body hates humidity. So guess where the worst state in the Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: entire country for me to live is? Freaking Florida, right? Gorgeous state, Abby: Florida. Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: one of the most beautiful na natural states that there is. Like so many human beings there that I love. I grew up there. Obviously I have so much like love for it. And it didn't fit my body. So I got the opportunity to try different states out and Ended up in Colorado where it is dry as a frickin' bone. Like, I love it. I love that landscape. And also, I I had to recreate a friendship structure. And, you know, you were one of these human beings that I met and I knew instantly we were gonna be friends. And we developed a friendship and then you moved to Portland. And it's like, so sad. Except that then we get to take The technology that sometimes feels overwhelming to me and use it as a tool to make our lives richer and better. And so that is like what we've been doing Abby: Yeah. Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: in this space. Like it it genuinely fills me up to be here with you. These women that come on. I'm like, first of all, like I don't know, I'm not sure when Chantal's episode will air, but like, holy moly, to every single one of these women has been amazing. Abby: my gosh, I'm so excited for that one. That was so cool. Chelsea Henderson: Like actually though, like all Abby: Yes. Chelsea Henderson: of these women have been amazing. We have not talked to anyone who hasn't kind of blown my socks off a little bit with just the cool shit they're Abby: absolutely. Chelsea Henderson: doing in the world and their amazing energies and their just their beautiful faces and just their beautiful voices. I love it so much. Chantal blew my mind. When that episode comes out, you guys, holy cow. I love that woman. I want to do more with her. And I Abby: That was so good. I do too. Chelsea Henderson: felt this Like I didn't even know that this existed in the world in a way that made me feel welcome and made me feel interested, right? This woman Abby: Mm. Chelsea Henderson: came here and just the energy it and so I feel like it's just us like walking around a forest, like picking up rocks and going, my god, look, there's a whole world under there. That's amazing. Like look at that. Abby: Wow, that's so good. That's exactly what it's like. Chelsea Henderson: so yeah, that's been that's been a treasure for me. And now we have I mean, we could go to North Carolina and go have lunch with Chantal tomorrow if we wanted. And she would sit down with us and we would hug and we would enjoy a meal and we would laugh Abby: my god. Chelsea Henderson: and we would like talk about making change in the world that's positive and doing something in the face Abby: Yeah. Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: of what feels like a lot of oppression and hardship and and you Abby: Mm. Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: know warring between individuals, you know? It feels incredible. Abby: And that that's been I mean, one of the best things for me is it just it injects a lot of optimism into my worldview because it's easy to get bogged down by the news and by the administration and by the billionaires and how they're using their money and all of the things. And Chelsea Henderson: Yes. Abby: getting on a call with you know, every two weeks or once a month with a woman who's like, Yeah, I I help to create safety in the church like Chantal is doing. I help to see Chelsea Henderson: Wow. Abby: make sure women feel seen and protected, women who've been harmed by the church and I'm actively repairing that process. Or, you know, someone like Susie being like I'm showing women how to become stronger Chelsea Henderson: Love Susie. Abby: in their bodies and not smaller and not you know, withering away in their bones, but how to take care of themselves in a real way, how to sleep better. I'm seeing all of my clients' goals met by working with them. I'm like, whoa. Chelsea Henderson: Yes gosh. Abby: It just has been such a great built-in like optimism check, reality check of like, yes, things Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: are hard and also there's women out there doing incredible work to rebalance the equation, which is what Modern Sacred is all about. is helping Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: to give these women a platform to share what they're Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: doing and to create offerings together so that we can amplify it because we are like the solution to what's going on. Yeah. It's really cool. Chelsea Henderson: Mm. Yes. my God, I love that. I love it. And it is so true. And I'll say in the most self-indulgent way, we're getting to experience all of this. Like this is the life that I want. And we're making it through exposure. Abby: Hmm. Chelsea Henderson: You know, we are we are making it through invitation. We are making it through collaboration. And in any capacity. I mean, we just have this discussion. We've been having this discussion, you know, of like how do we bring as much of this into our lives to balance out all the kind of material things that we have to do to make our lives go. And it every time we invite this in, it's just the most cool thing. Like I I I was reflecting on connecting with Carissa. You know, I've been voice noting with Carissa because, you know, our Abby: Yes. Chelsea Henderson: our our friend in Silicon Valley, like Doing tech stuff, working with AI in Abby: Yeah, so cool. Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: a totally different way than a lot of us are. Like, you know, the AI is is problematic, right? And a lot of us can identify that. And she is trying to take this scary, potentially scary, potentially, you know, very problematic new element and make it do good, you know, by creating this this thing that I mean, games are a part of our life, like it or not. And to gamify things is extremely popular. It gets into our brains. And this woman and her business partner are trying to create something that lives in that space that does the opposite and doesn't exploit your brain chemicals, you know, makeup and make you, you know, kind of luring after it like a little addictive mouse with a sugar pellet or whatever. Like it it's fascinating. It's incredible. And like, who knew that was even a th I didn't even know that was like a thing. you could do in the world Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: to go to that world, which feels like another universe to me, and say to all those people with all that money, hey, give us money so that we can take this technology that's pretty, pretty you know, has a lot of shit going on with it and use it to try to do some good. Try to take it, Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: recognize that it's here. None of us are gonna stop that. So then let's do something with it that creates positivity. It's Abby: Mm-hmm. Chelsea Henderson: like What an interesting way to flip something on its head and and try to participate Abby: Yeah. Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: intentionally. I don't know, I just these women fascinate me for all that they are. They're fascinating. Abby: cool. They're so fascinating. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. They're so cool. I'm just like, what? You're you're out there doing what? I didn't even know that that existed. Or tell me more. I just feel like Chelsea Henderson: Seriously. Yeah. Abby: so ki it's made me so curious about people. And another thing that I I really want to celebrate for myself and for you and I and Modern Sacred we were just talking about is the visibility piece for me. Because Chelsea Henderson: Mm. Abby: Being putting myself out there on video, talking Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: for an hour at a time and posting it to YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, all the things which we're just all trying to figure out, Facebook and Instagram, meta. But like I just I Really tried to do that for years in my own business and I would really struggle. What are people gonna think of me? How does my hair Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: look? Did I say the right thing? was that too outlandish? Am I being, you know, just always like, ooh, I don't know. And something about doing this together with you, Chelsea, and as Modern Sacred and bringing on these amazing women, all of Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: that has melted away. I'm like, I will talk Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: about my most out Landish top views on things. I will talk about politics, I'll talk about sex, I'll talk about money, I'll talk about body image, I'll talk about periods, I'll talk about anything. Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: in a space that's collaborative. And it's made me Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: realize like, I think so much of the messaging out there for businesses is to do it alone, to stand out in a field all by yourself and say, here I am, this is what I'm doing. And that Chelsea Henderson: Yes, right. Abby: For some of us, it feels really good. And for a lot of highly sensitive people like myself, that feels very exposing and scary. And I need someone there to hold my hand. And when I have someone holding Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: my hand, it's like, yeah, here we are. Here's what Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: we're about. It has unlocked something in me where I am just not afraid of what people are gonna think about what we say on the podcast or how I look. It's been amazing. Chelsea Henderson: Because we're holding we're holding hands in unity, right? It's not hold my hand Abby: Amen. Chelsea Henderson: like I'm helpless. It's hold my hand because we we both feel like this is important, you know, like I I I can't pretend Abby: No. Chelsea Henderson: like the things happening in the world don't affect me and matter to me. The fact that there are enough resources for all of us and yet we all live in scarcity and many live without. You know, we have had this conversation about the guilt of privilege. We have had this like there's so much. And the fact that like, you know, those this is what's being sold to us, it's a problem. And to stand up and scream it by myself feels like yelling into the void. It doesn't feel particularly productive. Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: Productive and it feels scary. And yet when I hold hands metaphorically and figure and literally with a f a friend, another human being, a strong, intelligent, passionate woman, and stand up and turn and face it together to say, it's wrong. It's wrong that a few thousand people in the world hold almost all of the resources and that many go hungry Abby: Mm-hmm. Chelsea Henderson: and suffer every fucking day. It's wrong. It's wrong that an entire half of the population is told that our gender isn't as good for reasons that serve Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: only a few, right? That we have to live up to unreasonable standards. It's wrong. Like and Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: and to say that by myself, I you know, am I just who am I even talking to? But to say it together, yeah, I don't know. Then when some sad little troll like, yes, yes, yes. Abby: Yeah. And then to find other women who are like, I agree. And here's what I'm doing about it. I agree and here's what I'm doing Chelsea Henderson: Yes, yeah. Abby: about it. I work with women in this capacity. I work to dismantle Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: this part of the system. I work to empower these women over here. And then the more and more Chelsea Henderson: Card yes. Ugh. Abby: that we collect, the more I'm Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: like, wow, this we is like much larger than I realized. And can we all get together and hang out? Chelsea Henderson: See, thank you for finishing my point for me. Because that's the point that I was trying to make. And as usual, I'm like off on five thousand tangents. But that is exactly it because then you'd realize that part of the system is designed to make you feel like you are alone. Because then you're much less likely Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: to question it and push back. That's human nature. We're packed animals, right? Abby: No. Chelsea Henderson: So you're absolutely right. Then I am like, yeah, no, it's okay to just To just be how I feel and be who I am, turns out I'm not alone. That that's massive. Ugh massive. I love it so much. Abby: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I love it. I also will celebrate that I love telling people about our podcast. I've gone back to s I have a little nursing job that I'm doing right now. G went back to bedside nursing and I love telling all of my coworkers why I don't work on Wednesdays. 'Cause Wednesdays are Chelsea Henderson: Mm-hmm. Abby: very busy at the clinic I'm at and I'm always asked to often asked to work on Wednesday and some people ask how come you don't work Wednesdays? And I was like, I record a podcast with my best friend Chelsea. We have a business Chelsea Henderson: There, that's Abby: called Modern Sacred. And my n number one thing when they ask what is it about, because it's always, you know, your elevator pitch. I'm like, okay, what is Modern Sacred about? The one that I'm kind of coming to now is you know, we talk about women's i topics. We talk about empowering women. and how to dismantle the patriarchy in our everyday lives. And we bring on amazing guests to Chelsea Henderson: Yeah, yeah, yes. Abby: are doing incredible work in Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: all areas to help women rise and, you know, come it it just is so cool. And the reception I get from everybody is immediately like, send it to me. Send it to me. Send me the link. Send me the link. Chelsea Henderson: I love it. I love it. Abby: And so I'm sending the link to our podcast to my coworkers and some of you might be listening right now. Hello. And just like Chelsea Henderson: Hello, Abby's coworkers. Abby: You know, here here's what we're talking about. And I have Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: so many coworkers too who are like, I don't know about investing my money. I wanna learn about that. I don't know about Chelsea Henderson: Right, yes. Abby: strength training after menopause. I need a l I wanna learn about that. And it's amazing to be able to say, We have an episode about that. I will send it to you. It is so cool to say we Chelsea Henderson: Yes, yes, yes. Abby: have we inv interviewed an expert on that and I will send it to you. Chelsea Henderson: Yes. Abby: And then they listen and they come back and say, That was so good. I learned so much. And then I can say, Well, we're gonna we're planning to do a big workshop with that person. I'll let you know when it is. And like, Chelsea Henderson: Okay. Yes. Abby: yeah, this is a a collective offering that I can offer to real people in my life that are like, Yeah, I this is amazing. It's just feels so cool. Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: That gives them real tools. It's so cool. Because I think that like getting being aware of things that feel problematic in the world, right? You know, like I have been Abby: Mm. Chelsea Henderson: saying my elevator pitch has been, you know, we talk about this a lot, being the rising tide that lifts all boats, right? Like working Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: as women to get into our bodies and live our individual lives to the best possible. possible degree we can, knowing that in terms of the dismantling the patriarchy or, you know, f pushing back ab against male dominated systems, pushing back against oppression, Abby: Yes. Chelsea Henderson: pushing back against, you know, industrialist values that have kind of contorted our society, you know, the those that is, I believe, done best through in each individual embodying and living Abby: Mm-hmm. Chelsea Henderson: To the best of their abilities so that they can create that pause between the input from what they see outside to their reaction, right? Like that moment. And we focus on that for women because we are women and we know that when they are doing that work, Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: it is lifting everyone around them, their sons, their husbands, their Abby: Yes. Chelsea Henderson: brothers, their uncles, their fathers, and other Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: w the women around them likewise, right? And so I I think that that Abby: Mm. Mm-hmm. Chelsea Henderson: is this beautiful antidote because it gives tools, Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: right? Like the tool sharing element, the resource sharing element feels so Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: important to me because neither of us can r really we we know we don't appreciate prescriptive offerings, right? Like no there's no one size fits all. Humans have a lot of things in common and yet we are very nuanced individuals. And that is an important thing to remember. I think when When we're trying to find our way to our best lives so that we can be the best humans we can to affect the best collective outcome we can. And I love the resource sharing. I love when these women come into our space and say, this is a problem that I recognize in my life too, that's been a stumbling block for me. And Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: I found a solution by doing this. And then I can try Abby: Yes. Chelsea Henderson: it and create a version of it for myself. And that's I think a thing that you Abby: Yes. Chelsea Henderson: and I have always shared of just like, okay. I've been there. I tried this. I don't know what have you tried. You know, it just it feels like this Abby: Mm-hmm. Chelsea Henderson: is how we're supposed to live. Like no one is supposed to have these answers innately. Abby: Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Chelsea Henderson: No one gets a playbook and everybody is just trying to figure it out. Gosh, no. And no nor should we. Abby: There's no way to know it all. Yeah. My favorite is I one of my favorites is when people say I never knew that and that makes so much sense. It's like a part of me knew that. A part of me knew it maybe wasn't ideal to I couldn't push myself in the same way in the gym as I could when I was twenty. And my twenty year old male trainer is wanting me to push myself and it doesn't feel good. Chelsea Henderson: Yes, yeah. Abby: Doesn't feel good. It doesn't feel good in my pelvic floor. It doesn't feel good in my body. And and then to have like, you know, someone come on and explain how hormones work in our bodies. I I love when when the women who listen to our show say, I knew that, but I needed to hear it. Like it just helps to strengthen our intuition to hear Chelsea Henderson: Yes, yes, yes. Abby: from these experts and be like, yeah, see, I knew that. And everybody around Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: me told me to just push through it. or whatever and like, actually Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Yeah. Abby: I know my own wisdom and like yeah, it's so cool. Chelsea Henderson: Also, I would say to add to that, to be reminded, because that's the thing that Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: gets me every time is the cycle of everything, Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: the 24 hour cycle, the you know, seven day cycle, the you know, monthly cycle, the yearly cycle. Within those different cycles, I forget and have to be reminded. This is why I love these practices. You know, when we talk to Nicole about meditation. I got this glimpse of meditation Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: in a way that hadn't really ever landed with me before. I'm sure people around me had talked about it, but it was a timing thing. It was a receptivity thing. And suddenly I'm like, okay, I can bless my beverages. Blessings, blessings, blessings, blessings. Love, love, love, love, love. And that water is picking Abby: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Chelsea Henderson: that up. The the the cellular structure of water is highly receptive to those things. And then And my body is, my brain Abby: Interesting. Chelsea Henderson: is, right? Like I'm getting it, I'm reinforcing it because what we say, what we think, how we approach the world, how we choose to perceive things all affects the actual quality of our lives. And so suddenly I'm having this, you know, epiphany of like, I don't have to sit in lotus pose for 60, 90 minutes a day Abby: Mm-hmm. Chelsea Henderson: to be a quote unquote good meditator, right? Like I can take Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: 30 seconds. To bless my coffee in the morning with intention. And that moment is a moment of presence and a moment of intentionality that then carries me through my day. And it becomes the practice. And Abby: Beautiful. Again. Chelsea Henderson: you forget these things, or you never knew them because no one around you ever exposed you to it. Like again, we just we learn through modeling. Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: We learn through what we see and are exposed to. And I just think it's cool. And I and and I will say one more thing too. You talked about like I feel like every guest we've had and every episode you and I have done together, I will say that I never thought of it that way, or I never knew that. Like even talking to you, you have blown Abby: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: my mind with some of the things. Like you always enlighten me about things because you've lived your life, I've lived mine. You know, we get to like share our experiences. It's beautiful. man, we are hype girls. God damn. We are we are so Abby: Yeah, same to you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. Yeah, it's so cool. I love it. We are the hype girls. You know what? If you're out there and you're like, I need some I need hyped up on my offering, come on the podcast. Because we Chelsea Henderson: To us. Abby: you know I think that something I've struggled with and I've seen lots of women in my life and men as well, like people struggle with, is just lack of confidence, you know, like And there's this thing called the Dunning Krueger effect that some of you might be aware of. There where it's like the more of an expert you become, sometimes the less confident you are. Because Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: you realize that you don't know everything. You might start out in the beginning being like, I know everything about this, but the more you learn, you realize you were wrong at first, and then you learn more and you realize you were wrong again and you realize that it's a way bigger, more complex topic than you ever thought at first and you think, what do I know? And Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: now you're actually at an expert level, but you are presenting not as you know, you're not as confident because you're like, I could still be getting stuff wrong. And I see that, I mean, that's sort of some humility that comes from someone who's actually, you know, knows what they're talking about. They know that they could be wrong about some things. And it's really amazing to have people on the podcast who are experts in what they do Chelsea Henderson: Mm-hmm. Abby: and to be able to hear them talk about what they're passionate about and learn so much because sometimes we can forget how much we've learned and we can think Chelsea Henderson: Yes. Abby: everybody knows about you know sleep quality everybody knows about you know ai hallucinations and I'm like nope never heard of it never heard of it please tell us Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Totally. Totally. Abby: and then be like you know your shit by the way and you're allowed to Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: flaunt flaunt Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: it and be confident in it because you are very good at what you do. So yes, we are hype girls. That is part of our job description and I love it. Chelsea Henderson: And it's totally a part of our job description and I think that it comes from, you know, the you know, Brene Brown talks about the I think it's Roosevelt who quo who's quoted as as talking about Abby: Yes, Teddy Roosevelt. Chelsea Henderson: if you're outside the arena and you're criticizing no one fucking cares about you, which is like almost everybody, right? Everybody has an opinion and a criticism and they're not actually putting themselves in the ring to do anything about it. Right. And so it's like we ha, you know, I think we are pretty hyped about anybody who comes into this space because they're fucking doing something about it. And that's amazing. It's amazing. It's amazing to be Abby: Amen. So cool. So true. Chelsea Henderson: doing anything about anything in a world that can and a in a in an experience and in in a in a life and a in a body that can be pretty freaking overwhelming. I mean, just managing these bodies in a way that is at all kind of keeping you above above water is a lot of freaking work. Raising families is a Abby: Mm. Chelsea Henderson: lot of work. Working a job. It it's Abby: Mm-hmm. Chelsea Henderson: all so much. So like amazing for every single one of us out there just doing life. It's freaking hard. Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: And so for me, yeah, I'm a hype girl. I don't need to agree with every single part of every single thing they're saying to be like, you're amazing because you're getting up every day and you're doing a thing and you're contributing. And you're offering things and you're putting yourself out there and you're being brave Abby: Yeah. Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: and and you're being humble. I love the expert who comes in and it's like the more I learn, the less I know, because that is real. The more we explore the depths of the ocean, Abby: Mm-hmm. That is so real. Chelsea Henderson: the more we explore outer space, the more we realize we don't know anything. The more we explore our own bodies. You know, this is why I always everything with a grain of salt, you know, is just like, let's take that and we'll run with it because it's been tested. We all We can agree with it and also acknowledge that like ten, twenty, thirty, forty years from now, we're probably gonna figure out another element of that. I mean, healthcare is probably a great example of that. Like it's always iterating and Abby: Yeah it is. Chelsea Henderson: evolving and growing and changing. So I love the humility of the expert who comes in and is like, This is what we know now and this is where we're operating from and there's always more to learn. It just feels like Abby: Yeah, yeah. Chelsea Henderson: the most appropriate human way. So Abby: Yeah, I love it. We have such amazing guests. We have so many more coming on too that are just continuing to pop up. We haven't gotten to the point yet where we're like, we need to go to Google and look for new guests. We need to search out new guests. They just keep Chelsea Henderson: No, no, no. Abby: coming. And I am so I just love it. I mean, there's so many women that we know that we still need to invite to come on the podcast. Chelsea Henderson: I know. Abby: Like Gabby, who we met at mom Welcome goddess. She is a boudoir photographer. She she it she Chelsea Henderson: my God, I love that that yes. Abby: doesn't just do the boudoir photography. It's like this whole process of like journaling and introspection Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: and intention setting with like the beauty of your body and what your body has been through as a woman and and she does all of Chelsea Henderson: It's amazing. Abby: this amazing work and it's very healing work to then give these women a a book of their body looking just fucking fire because she's such an Chelsea Henderson: My god, it makes me wanna cry. Abby: amazing photographer and Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: like I want to have her on the podcast. It's just they just keep coming Chelsea Henderson: Hell yes, yes. Abby: and and it really creates such a sense of abundance where I'm like, wow, like I am swimming in all of these women who are doing incredible work. And Chelsea Henderson: It's true. It's true. Abby: I really love that my work is to give them a pool to swim in together. I'm like, let's all Chelsea Henderson: I'm obsessed. I keep saying that. Abby: Like yeah, my job is like let's talk about what you do because I wanna know. Chelsea Henderson: I love I love how f I love how close our analogies are, right? Like your elevator pitch and mine that that and and your like I say playground, you say pool. I'm like I'm Abby: Yes. Chelsea Henderson: like, I love it because I think we are, we're doing that. We're like, well fuck it. Let's just build it, right? And just like let's all play here together Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: because this is cool shit and it makes me feel like I'm actually interested in this life. Whereas before I was like, what Abby: Yes, one hundred percent. Chelsea Henderson: What is this sucks. Like what are we doing here? Like this is way more interesting. Abby: I literally told my husband Zach a few weeks ago when we were talking about like money and working and he was kinda like, I mean, if you could work more, that'd be great. Like and I was like, If you Chelsea Henderson: I love Zach. Abby: want me to work more, I'm gonna like end my life because and I was kind of joking but also serious because I was like, If I don't have time Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: to do modern sacred anymore because I'm working in order to make money, in order to do what with it, I'm like w then the Chelsea Henderson: Boring. Abby: patriarchy has won. in my life. Like Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Yeah. Abby: I don't want to I will not give up this for that. And it wasn't even he wasn't asking me like give it up or anything. It was just like a conversation about capacity and and bills and whatever. And I was like, this is so important to me. I would rather move into a cheaper apartment. I'd rather, you know, do things to change our level of need than to give this up. Because if I don't have this, like this is why I'm 'Cause like why I'm living. I'm like, I wanna talk to awesome women. I want Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Abby: to learn cool things, I wanna hang out with my best friend. And like that's like if I'm Chelsea Henderson: Agreed. My god, I couldn't agree more. Abby: not allowed to if I'm not doing that, what am I doing? So Chelsea Henderson: Well, and I really appreciate how first of all I feel the exact same way. I similarly have carved out that time, intentionally, made sacrifices, right? And I really appreciate that we talk about that because Abby: Yeah, exactly. Chelsea Henderson: we you know, it might not always come through in this recorded space and I think it's important to say we recognize that money, life, the structures that exist there, they matter, right? Like that we're not we're Abby: Yeah. Yeah. And they're hard. Chelsea Henderson: not And they're hard and we're not like oblivious to that by any means. Like it is a sacrifice and it is extra work to do this and it's the thing that makes the other stuff worthwhile for us, right? And so I think it's always Abby: Yes, it is. Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: really important to point that out is that th this is not b because b this this is not coming from a place of the ultimate luxury to just say, well fuck the system, we don't like it, so we're not participating. It's sacrifice Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: And it's hard and it's extra work. And also for Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: us it's worth it. And we hope that any woman or human who has aspirations or feelings can find a way to carve that into their life while also keeping a roof over their heads and food on in in their bellies. Abby: Yeah. Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: Because obviously that has to happen. We do not take that for granted. We pay bills, we work Abby: Very true. Chelsea Henderson: hard, we sacrifice, you know, my family doesn't take vacations right now while I'm building this business because that's not in the budget when you're a one income household wh with a part time job on the side. Like we live in Denver. It's fucking expensive, Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: you know? I acknowledge those things. And I acknowledge that there are women out there who can't even have this conversation. Hobbies don't even get to exist. And that's just talking within a Western Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: country, not to speak of the rest of the world. I acknowledge all of that and I recognize Abby: True. Chelsea Henderson: those things exist and, you know, I think It makes me even more grateful that we get this space to do that. And there's an energy there that I hope on some level reaches out and touches more and more and eventually creates more opportunity for more people to do that Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: because I'm with you. Like this is the antidote that keeps me going around that Abby: Mm-hmm. Chelsea Henderson: kind of shit. I'm like, that's just it feels oppressive. It's it's oppressive. Abby: Mm. Yeah, that's what we're doing here. And to know that you know, wherever our listeners are, if they're on their commute, going into work or doing school drop offs with three different schools because all their kids go to different schools 'cause that's the way the world works with the different ages and that you know, whatever they're out there doing that they have this to turn on and to feel like they're chatting with their friends. That's always the vibe that we've wanted. Hear it Modern Sacred is like, we're not prescriptive. We're Chelsea Henderson: It's the sleepover. Abby: not telling people how to do things or or we are having conversations and we're just, you know, we're not wearing any makeup a lot of the time. My literally rolled out of bed and put on this t-shirt, I'm not wearing a bra. I'm just like, I'm having a conversation that Chelsea Henderson: Love it. Abby: is very unscripted and it just Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: feels like the kind of thing I would want to listen to, so it's really cool to just make something. that Chelsea Henderson: Mm-hmm. Abby: I know people out there can listen to and feel like, okay, that really lifted me up on my way to my commute and I love this show and just it feels cool. Chelsea Henderson: And to feel connected, you know? That is what I Abby: Yeah. Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: there's just a lot of isolation. So I feel like that's been Abby: Mm-hmm. Chelsea Henderson: a really fun way to feel like, okay, I have all these modern amenities and luxuries and also I feel like I'm living in a house full of robots sometimes with n not a lot of human Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: contact and You know, and then you get out in Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: the world and that human contact is hard because a lot of it is while you're driving or in the supermarket or, you know, buying Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: your kids clothes or taking them to the doctor and everyone is just kind of like to do this. And we're like kind of dehumanizing Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: ourselves and each other in those moments. And so that is almost like more overwhelming to me. So then I want to stay in my house Abby: True. Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: and then I'm like, it's just me and all the machines doing all Abby: Mm. Chelsea Henderson: the work. Cooling the food, washing the clothes, washing the dishes for me. And, you know, I even have that cute little robot that the vacuums my floors. Like Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: it's just that moment of like, where are Abby: Mm. Chelsea Henderson: the other beings like me? You know, and and then I can I can listen to a podcast or a book or, you know, call a friend or voice note or check into a space like this and feel like, okay. Okay, so it's not us like around a campfire in a village like our species has historically done, but Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: this is what we have now and this is I think the way to to really make the best of this. And that's always been my goal. I mean, whether it's like sustainability, Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: good design, you know, non profits, all the work I've done in my life has been about that of like just how can we take what is exists and take the problems that we face. And utilize the tools we have to make the freaking best of it. And this is just my favorite, favorite version of so far because it's the culmination of all of my Abby: Me too. Chelsea Henderson: my hopes, dreams, aspirations, and intentions come to life. Of like we do it together Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: as friends. And we are the rising Abby: Mm-hmm. Chelsea Henderson: tides that lift the boats. You know, for us we're focused on women because we are women and that's an experience we know. And it's an experience that we feel passionate about. And so we operate from this place. Abby: Mm-hmm. Chelsea Henderson: And we hope that anyone out there from their body and and their life experience is doing that in their way. And and that every time we do this and we make ourselves a little bit more whole, we lift that tide a little bit more. And it just brings all the boats up a little higher towards that dock or I haven't actually never thought that one all the way through it. Where are we trying to rise to? Probably like rise to the dock or Rise. Abby: I f feel like I need to learn more about that saying 'cause I've heard of it and I've even got a book that's Chelsea Henderson: We should explore it. Abby: called When All Boats Rise. I'm like, what does that even mean? Are boats not are boats like run aground? Like what does that mean? Chelsea Henderson: It's very popular and it always lands with me. Stop. my god. This is a whole exploration in of itself. In my mind, every time I think of it, I imagine like the city in Italy that's all waterways. And if that water were to sink Abby: yeah. Chelsea Henderson: and all those little gondolas getting everybody around, they couldn't get from the boat to the dock. So then it's like we have to rise the tide together so everybody can get back to like ground level. Abby: to where they wanna go and I'm gonna have to look into that. Chelsea Henderson: Well now we're gonna have to we're gonna have to research this 'cause I feel like I have been basing a lot of my life on this. What we're gonna come back to this. Abby: Everybody knows. Yeah, I have that book. I'll have to look at it and be like, What does this mean? Yeah. Yeah, so much to celebrate. Chelsea Henderson: I think I think the energy lands though. We all know what the energy means. It means we're we're doing this together. Abby: Absolutely. Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: You know, we're interconnected like it or not. So my success is your success and vice versa. So we can look at it that way. Abby: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And another thing I wanted to celebrate that just came to mind with that is building something in alignment with our values, which is something that we just talked about, you know, not long ago. Is Chelsea Henderson: Mm-hmm. Abby: there is a a short business path that requires lots of time, lots of energy, lots of Chelsea Henderson: Hassle. Abby: saying no to our families, our children, our partners, our friends. It's hustle, it's grind, and that's something we're not interested in. So this other way of building this has been a constant calibration between the two of us is how do we want to build this? Slow, steady, and sustainable. That's your whole thing, Chelsea Henderson: No. Abby: you know, with design is like how can we d Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: create this in a way that I build a house that feels Good to live in, not a house that Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: feels unsustainable to manage. it's pretty, it's big, it's got a lot of light, but Chelsea Henderson: Yes, yes, right, right. Abby: it also means I have to turn on the AC really high because all those Chelsea Henderson: Right. Abby: windows let in so much heat and now I'm always battling the elements and we didn't think this through when we first built this because we just wanted big windows with Chelsea Henderson: Yes, yes. Abby: lots of light, and it's like, okay, we if we can slow this down, how do we want to build this? And how we get there matters because Chelsea Henderson: Ugh. Abby: You can assume that in two years, you know, if we work really hard for two years and we hustle and we grind, we'll get this thing. Well, that you know, d we're not promised that we will be here in two years. We are here today. And today Chelsea Henderson: Absolutely. Ugh. Abby: what's important is your son is six years old. And he's gonna be six right now, you know? And that Chelsea Henderson: Yes. Abby: I'm living in a new city in Portland for the first time and this my first year in a new city and like I don't get that time back, you know? So Always trying to build Chelsea Henderson: Mm. Yes. Abby: Modern Sacred in a way that is sustainable, grounded, and Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: in alignment with like our greater values is a constant Chelsea Henderson: Yes. Abby: conversation that I'm really grateful to have. Chelsea Henderson: Me too. I love that you put you you shone a light on that and and that we are that and that we do that for ourselves and each other. You know, I think it's very aligned with a Abby: Yeah, me too. Chelsea Henderson: lot of the topics that we talk about, right? Like it turns out like taking good care of this body has to be on the list, or I'm operating Abby: Yes. Chelsea Henderson: from a place of lack. Which means I'm operating from a place of reactivity and then I'm ashamed of myself and you know, I I don't love how I am in the world. And that feels bad. Like that it's just Abby: Hmm. Chelsea Henderson: if I have the opportunity to do it differently, well fuck, I'm gonna take it, you know, and I'm gonna make the most out of it. I'm Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: gonna make the most out of it for those out there who can't, don't even have that opportunity, or for those out there who have it and don't know they have it, you know. So so that Abby: Right, that's true. Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: feels like a a completely perfectly foundational element to us as individuals, us as friends, us as business partners and collaborators, and us as the founding energy of Modern Sacred and and this podcast space and all the women that we have on. It's just it feels so Abby: Mm-hmm. Chelsea Henderson: perfectly of Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: like the most core value. So I love celebrating that. Abby: Yeah. And you know, it's it's not always apparent. And there have been so many times where, you know, you have been the grounding force to say to me and my scarcity. Sometimes I'll get into that more hustle, grind, scarcity, and then you pull me back. Or sometimes you will get that way and I pull you back. And that's that beautiful like partnership. I love that we do that. I'll be like, my god. Chelsea Henderson: Hmm. I love that we do that. Yes. Abby: Like, absolutely. If like if we're doing a voice memo and you're like, I gotta go, like the kids are here I'm like, Yeah, fucking hang up. Like, I don't care. You you have your kids. Like your kids are here and they're babbling Chelsea Henderson: I know. Abby: and they're so cute and wells and and every your beautiful life. I I love when I Chelsea Henderson: They talk so much? Abby: hear I l I love when I hear your life invade our voice memos because I'm like, yeah, that's Chelsea Henderson: I love it. I love it. Abby: like I just love that and I I love that we keep each other, with that big picture in mind. It's just really great to not be on my own. Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. I love it too. I love when we've been on meetings and and Zack comes in the background and I'm like, Zach I may I just or when Luna's there and Luna Abby: Yeah, it's so fun. Chelsea Henderson: needs attention and I think it's amazing because Abby: Always. Chelsea Henderson: otherwise it's just the superficial. And I think the superficial really is the shit that just puts me to sleep. Like I I have Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: since I was a little girl known on some level, even if I didn't have the clarity or articulation to really get to the full point of it, like, that is not enough for me. I I don't Abby: Mm-hmm. Chelsea Henderson: I just can't with that. Like, you know, the Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: I mean, and this is what we've been developing in our in our in person work is, you know, how can we offer this, you know, a when I when when I've gone out recently on behalf of Modern Sacred and done events in Denver that are, you know, trying to help you know, people in the professional world connect with one another. That's the driving kind of operating idea there is like it doesn't matter your title or the company you work for, that will Abby: Mm-hmm. Chelsea Henderson: come, right? That's not what you lead with. Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: You know, you lead with something that makes people remember who you are because you've impacted them. Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: Your title, your business card, it you know, unless they are directly looking for your product in this moment at this time. It doesn't fucking mean anything. So, like the story Abby: Yeah. Mm mm. Chelsea Henderson: of who you are matters. That's all these women who have been on here. You and I are recording just the two of us. Like it's the story of what we're experiencing, what we've been through, how we've handled Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: it, how we share it with one another. That's the stuff that is rich and makes things interesting. My kid situation coming in and making noise, your husband, your your life there, my life here, that is interesting. It matters. It's cool. The other stuff is Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: just you won't think about that on your deathbed. Who cares? I don't even remember some of the jobs Abby: It's so true. And Chelsea Henderson: that I've had. And I'm only in my forties. Like fuck it. Who cares? So, yeah. Abby: No. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's really been such a I can't believe it's been a year. That's so wild Chelsea Henderson: I can't believe it's been a year. Abby: that we started recording. And la yeah, speaking of stories, we if Chelsea Henderson: I know. Abby: for anyone who's maybe new or not been with us from the beginning, Chelsea and I met in a book club and we became really close friends very fast and then Chelsea Henderson: Mm-hmm. Abby: I moved and we started talking on the phone. And we were like, wow, I love our conversations. We would talk for like an hour about everything. and yeah, the deep stuff, not the small talk, Chelsea Henderson: Uh-huh. Abby: but the deep stuff, the shit that matters. And I would leave our conversation just feeling like, Wow, that felt so good. Like I need more of that in my life and we were like, Let's just record this and let's record our conversations and put it out there and and Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Yeah. Abby: send them to our friends that we don't get to see very much and And that way everybody can kind of be a part of the conversation and that's how it started. It started as like just really amazing conversations and that was a year ago that we decided to officially Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: do our first podcast and Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: start the process. And holy shit, we've learned a lot Chelsea Henderson: Holy shits. Abby: about podcasting and hosting Chelsea Henderson: Whoa! Abby: and riverside editing and Chelsea Henderson: Mm, hashtag riverside. Abby: my god. Website building. We've built two websites in the process. We have had two live events. Yeah. I've flown out to Colorado for a big pool party at my mom's house and we've had amazing guests just pop up. Chelsea Henderson: Mm-hmm. Yes, we have. We've hosted events. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yep. Yep. Yep. Well, three now. We just did the summer soiree with women in design. I mean, we've we've had a lot. We've had a lot going on Abby: Yes, three. Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: and and we have had a warm, warm reception. And we have been met with so many beautiful human beings doing beautiful things and it's just it's just been amazing true magic I feel like just the real all the things so mmm all right so then let's wrap up but I wanna ask you one thing I wanna ask you one Abby: Beautiful. Well, I'm glad we got some time to celebrate. Yeah. Go ahead. Chelsea Henderson: thing okay so then if we if we're looking at another year what is one thing that when we're reflecting next year that you would be super excited, like a person we interviewed or a topic we connected over or an event we had or or like a benchmark that we hit like as a business. Like what Abby: Hmm. I don't even know. Chelsea Henderson: would that look like when we're reflecting this time next year to you? Abby: Hmm, that's a good question. Man, so much has happened in the first year. I'm like, what's gonna happen in year two? Chelsea Henderson: I know I know, I know. Abby: it's like a you know, like this a lot could happen. I think for me what's most kind of alive for me is that in another year we're looking back and we're celebrating all of the incredible live offerings. that we've been able to have because podcasts Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: are wonderful. They're on demand. You can listen when you're at the grocery store on a commute and and they're amazing that they're on demand. And I also love a live component where you can ask a question, have a small breakout room with two other women and talk about something, your finances or whatever the topic is, and you can learn from each other in real time. You can connect, maybe you meet a friend, you d exchange numbers. Chelsea Henderson: Yes. Abby: And then you two start texting and then maybe you start voice memoing and now you have a friend that you met in this space. I think the biggest thing that I will just love is after another year looking back and being like, Wow, we created incredible live virtual and in person spaces for women to connect with each other and Chelsea Henderson: Yes. Abby: for me to connect with our amazing practitioners and guests even deeper, that we've Chelsea Henderson: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Abby: built that space. I don't particularly have a benchmark of how many people come or any kind of revenue attachment, which is great Chelsea Henderson: No, but that doesn't even matter. No. Abby: sign for me because that just means I'm excited about the work itself and like the space itself. Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: That's exactly it. That's exactly it. Yeah. I mean, isn't that how you and Danny met? Talk about another amazing guest we had. That and that Abby: Mm-hmm. Yeah, I love Danny. Chelsea Henderson: and you have this amazing friendship and she's this incredible person. And yeah, I I love that so much. And I think that is that is a differentiator for me about what we're building, is that that is the benchmark, not the numbers attached to it. Because those those come either way, right? Abby: Exactly. Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: And they come more naturally when we're really focused on just the energy and integrity of connection and quality of human interaction and experience and the people, right? That that feels really awesome. I love it. I'm really excited. I I know, I Abby: Yeah. How about you? What do you what what's your answer? Chelsea Henderson: I was thinking about my answer while you said that because that was gonna be my answer when you said so. Well Abby: It can be the same answer. That would mean we're aligned. Chelsea Henderson: It is the same answer. We're totally freaking aligned. And the other thing that came up for me when you were saying that was I'm really I feel it just incredibly excited to be looking back on the new worlds we're introduced to through our guests next year, right? If these are Abby: Yes. Chelsea Henderson: all the people that we've met and the things we've been exposed to and introduced to. and invited into so far, I can't even wait to see what that's gonna look like Abby: No. That's not true. Chelsea Henderson: in the following year. So that, you know, that would be my next thing. Abby: That's so ch that's the Jack Dawson under the bridge in Titanic. I love waking up in the morning not knowing where I'm gonna go or who I'm gonna meet. That's a direct quote from Jack Dawson. I love Titanic. Chelsea Henderson: Girl, your brain. Okay, I've seen that movie like ten times and I I couldn't even Abby: my god. Chelsea Henderson: tell you his last name if you had paid me fifty dollars. Like I I I mean I remember his name is Jack because obviously, but like Girl, listen. Abby: Ugh Well Little Homeschool Dabby didn't have much else going on, so she watched that movie a lot. But that's that thing, you know, what's this year gonna hold? That's hope. It's hope and it's optimism and it's like, what is the year gonna have for me? Well, how many Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: cool people am I gonna meet? I agree. And I would add Chelsea Henderson: Yes. Abby: to that that I would love to have some people on the show who have a following. I'm just gonna put it Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: out there. Who have a following who we meet who it's like, yeah, Chelsea Henderson: Yeah, yeah. Abby: they have an active following and that we get more people listening into these conversations and that we can Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: grow our listenership because we have such Chelsea Henderson: Yes. Abby: incredible conversations and we have such great guests and Chelsea Henderson: Yes. Abby: we're in that startup stage and that Chelsea Henderson: Love. Abby: collective growth comes from someone that you meet at an event who's like a big influencer or maybe they have like quite a following and they're like, I'd love to be on the podcast Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: and then we just like naturally without you know, get that collaborative thing. Chelsea Henderson: Yeah. Abby: So that's something I would I would call in as well. Chelsea Henderson: I love that. Yes, yes. And just more of the collaboration in general. It is really the the fuel for this whole operation, you know, and it really is what keeps it exciting. So I'm excited for all of it. I love us. I love you. And I just Abby: I love us too. I love you. Chelsea Henderson: with all of this, thank goodness this exists. Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: All of it. Every Abby: Yes. Chelsea Henderson: single person out there doing these things, Abby: Mm-hmm. Chelsea Henderson: participating, contributing. If you have something interesting to say, contact us. We want to talk about it. So we love you all. We're grateful. Yeah. Yay. Well, I'm excited next time we talk, Abby: Yeah. Yeah. And we love you all for listening and for joining us and participating. Yeah. Okay. Yay to another year. Chelsea Henderson: we will have an a live membership going on. And If you're interested in that, join our newsletter. The link is in the in the notes and the description, whatever you call it. And that's how you stay Abby: Yeah. Chelsea Henderson: in involved. And I'm really excited. I mean, month one and two, we've got a financial workshop, we've got breath work, we've got movement, we've got forest virtual forest bathing. Like we're we're excited about what's up what's upcoming. So I'm excited to do all of those. I'm participating in all of them. Woohoo Okay, darling. Love you. Love our listeners. Thanks for joining us. Abby: I'm so excited. Me too. I'm like, yes. I'm like, Yay. Okay. I love you. We love everyone out there. Come hang out with us. Chelsea Henderson: We'll talk to you next time.
