- 0:02Welcome into this special edition of the Patriot Broadcasting Project.
- 0:06I'm your host, Bubba Starts.
- 0:07With me today is American cattle rancher, Chad Sullivan.
- 0:10Chad, welcome to the show.
- 0:11Thank you very much, Bubba.
- 0:13Well, you do more than, ranch cattle.
- 0:16Obviously, there's a lot of property involved with that.
- 0:18You have another fancy title that I couldn't remember the name to.
- 0:21So why don't you go ahead and tell us about that, and and we'll dive right into why we're
- 0:24talking today.
- 0:25Yeah.
- 0:26I'm just an American cattle rancher, like I said, and I am the private property rights
- 0:31chair, committee chair at RCAF USA.
- 0:34We're the largest, self funded and driven cattlemen's organization in The United States.
- 0:41Well, and property rights are exactly why what has brought us together today.
- 0:46We're here supporting the Maude family who are in a battle over not just property at this
- 0:52point, but their own lives and their livelihoods.
- 0:55Facing a lengthy prison sentence from the national government, a big government that has
- 1:01grown accustomed to overreach.
- 1:04And that's why, we're coming together to to shine some light on not just this one case, but
- 1:10I'm sure there's several hundred or thousands of cases like this across the country every
- 1:15year.
- 1:15Can you shed a little bit of light on, their situation, and we'll kind of pick things up
- 1:21from there?
- 1:22Yeah.
- 1:23So about a year ago, back in, February, there was an anonymous hunter, that turned a no
- 1:32hunting sign in to the Forest Service.
- 1:35So the mods have 25 acres approximately of Forest Service land inside of their land on
- 1:43kind of on the edge.
- 1:44And, there they had a no hunting sign apparently on that, which most of us do.
- 1:52But, apparently, somebody, turned that into the forest service.
- 1:56The forest service come out to see it, all about it.
- 1:59They took the sign down.
- 2:01And then as things went on, the forest service decided that they recognized, that the property
- 2:09line or the fence line on the survey boundary was off.
- 2:13And now who knows?
- 2:15If it's off a foot, it may be off a foot.
- 2:17It may not be off at all.
- 2:19The the mods have been ranching here for a hundred and fourteen years.
- 2:25Charles and Heather are their sixth generation, fifth or sixth generation.
- 2:31This fence in question was put in pre '19 '50, so long before, Charles and Heather were born
- 2:39or even their fam or their parents were born.
- 2:42So, whether it was really off the line, who knows, but that's really the the extent of what
- 2:48happened.
- 2:49As time went on, that happened in March.
- 2:54Agent a special agent by the name of Travis Lenderz, who seems like the more we learn about
- 2:59him, the more trouble we find out he has caused all kinds of of forest service allotment owners
- 3:07over the years.
- 3:08He is the one in question here.
- 3:10And so to remedy this situation, the Maude family says, well, let's use our common sense
- 3:17and let's use the small tracks act.
- 3:20Let's, trade land.
- 3:22Let's get the fence back on.
- 3:24Let's just do something so it doesn't interrupt our business and go forward.
- 3:29Okay.
- 3:29So then, fine, that starts they start communicating a little bit.
- 3:34And, as time goes on, enters special ranger, a gal by the name of Julie Wheeler.
- 3:44And, they come they start talking and trying to transact, you know, an an unfolding event here
- 3:51that could be remedied very easily.
- 3:54And, while they're visiting, they bring out a survey crew.
- 3:59Right?
- 4:00And the problem with the survey crew is, you know, the mods own half the fence.
- 4:08The forest service owns half the fence.
- 4:10So, really, to to do a survey right, you have to have a third party verification system
- 4:15there.
- 4:15Right?
- 4:16And, that wasn't happening.
- 4:18So as communicated communication went forward, Heather and Charles asked the Forest Service
- 4:26just they said, you're welcome to come across our land anytime.
- 4:29But when you do, please notify us because you have to cross their private property to get to
- 4:36the property in question.
- 4:37And after that request was made, everything went silent.
- 4:42Just nothing else happened.
- 4:44Communication stopped.
- 4:45They had just previous to that, they had, requested a meeting with Senator Rounds and the
- 4:53Forest Service together.
- 4:54So, the mods and Senator Rounds, they came together and said, hey.
- 4:58Can you guys can the Forest Service meet on so and so date?
- 5:02And Travis Lender Landers and, Julie Wheeler said, no.
- 5:07We can't.
- 5:08We don't we we don't have those dates available.
- 5:10So that meeting with, senator Round's office never took place.
- 5:14And upon that, communication stopped.
- 5:18Well, in February, eighty seven days later, Travis Lender shows up armed on the Maude
- 5:29family ranch and in and hands over indictment papers, federal indictment papers, for theft of
- 5:35government property, each to Charles and to Heather separately.
- 5:41Okay?
- 5:42And, with that came a possible five years in prison each and $250,000 fine each for theft of
- 5:52government property.
- 5:53Now the property in question has never had any sort of, change to it.
- 5:59And, of course, as we go on with this case, the forest service is coming up with, more more
- 6:05stuff that they thought that the mods were aware of, and they thought, you know, the
- 6:10forest service is claiming all all these claims.
- 6:13And one of those is that the mods were aware of this four years ago.
- 6:16Well, the forest service, the mods are like, we've never heard about any of this, and they
- 6:22are in good standing.
- 6:23They have no infractions since nineteen o six.
- 6:26They have zero infractions.
- 6:28They are in good standing with the forest service even today as they have been indicted,
- 6:34and, the saga goes on.
- 6:37That's where we're at right now.
- 6:38We have, been working with them.
- 6:41Several groups and individuals have been working for and with the mods to get this case
- 6:46remedied for, well, since last last June, really.
- 6:50And, of course, the Biden administration was, over that.
- 6:55They're the ones that levied the charges against them, and then we had hope that
- 7:01president Trump coming in would make a change in this.
- 7:05So far, we we haven't had that change.
- 7:08We are screaming and yelling at the top of our lungs for secretary Rick Rollins, Department of
- 7:14Agriculture, who is over the forest service to get this remedied through the Department of
- 7:19Justice and President Trump.
- 7:21Nothing has happened yet.
- 7:22I feel like we're getting closer to some sort of rectification, if if that is such a word,
- 7:29but we need to do it.
- 7:30Because Charles and Heather and their two young children these people are in their thirties.
- 7:35And their two young children are under immense stress and pressure.
- 7:40Obviously, obtaining two lawyers because they're individually indicted and holding a gag
- 7:46order in your own home, you can't talk about the case with your spouse, is, wreaking havoc
- 7:53on their emotional life, and such goes your your financial and your physical life.
- 7:59Right?
- 7:59Who knows what these these bills are that are gonna come from these lawyer lawyer fees, not
- 8:05to mention the the forest service.
- 8:08You know, if they if they are convicted, and levied $250,000 fine, how do you come up with a
- 8:15half a million dollars when you don't have it right?
- 8:17And You sell the land.
- 8:18Right?
- 8:19I mean, which which at best, it feels like like, at best, it's coercion.
- 8:23Right?
- 8:24They're they're getting all these charges leveled against them because they decided to
- 8:27stand up for themselves, which from the outside and just really hearing the story for the first
- 8:32time.
- 8:33And at worst, it's blatant extortion.
- 8:36It's just saying, well, you don't wanna do what we say, then we are going to leave the put the
- 8:42lean on you with the full weight of the US government and all of these agencies, and we're
- 8:48going to at least scare you into possibly settling over it or possibly losing your entire
- 8:56livelihood.
- 8:57Well, I have a lot of experience dealing with these kinds of situations, and they are not
- 9:03new.
- 9:04Okay?
- 9:04Let me get that through your through to you.
- 9:07They are not new.
- 9:08But what has happened, really, in the last twenty years is an incremental infiltration of
- 9:15radical ideologues into our governments from the bottom up.
- 9:20I mean, from the local governments clear up to the top.
- 9:23And with that infiltration, they infiltrate into these bureau bureaucratic agencies.
- 9:29And that is what we're seeing because these people think they have power that they don't
- 9:33have.
- 9:34Right?
- 9:35And, it's it's it's trampling on not only private property rights, but it's trampling on
- 9:40constitutional rights.
- 9:42And the and all of this all of this that we're seeing, Bubba, is about the land.
- 9:48It's not about climate change.
- 9:50It's not about carbon footprints.
- 9:52It's not about methane.
- 9:54It is about the land.
- 9:55They have to have the land.
- 9:57And we are daily, we are uncovering more and more very interesting conflicts that there are
- 10:05environmental organizations out there in this area that perhaps perhaps down the road want to
- 10:13create a wildlife corridor, and they would have to have some of these parcels of land to do
- 10:19that.
- 10:20And so there is an alter alternate ulterior motive in what's going on, and it's very
- 10:26dangerous.
- 10:26And it's dangerous to, the constitution.
- 10:29It's dangerous to liberty and freedom, and it's dangerous to your local economy.
- 10:33You see, once you take all of these people off of the land, and that's their goal, however
- 10:39they have to do it, put you in prison, seize the land.
- 10:42We see it all the time.
- 10:44Once you once you remove the people from the land, your communities die.
- 10:49Right?
- 10:49Your churches and your schools die.
- 10:51Your small towns die.
- 10:52We're already dying in rural America.
- 10:55And the the end goal is this is for the global elite and the elitists across America to have
- 11:03control of production and consumption.
- 11:06And what they call what what that's called for them is sustainability.
- 11:11That's what this is about.
- 11:12They're picking winners and losers.
- 11:14And the only way they can have control of production and consumption is to have control
- 11:19of the land.
- 11:19And, ultimately, it is all about private property rights.
- 11:23Yes.
- 11:24And that's we actually had a big win here in South Dakota Yes.
- 11:28Recently, protecting ourselves from some of these other, you know, these pipelines, these c
- 11:34o two pipelines.
- 11:35I know that the, the Keystone pipeline just ruptured or whatever they said.
- 11:40I don't know.
- 11:41A brand new pipeline is all of a sudden bursting open and spewing oil all over the land
- 11:46as well through private property, through public property.
- 11:51This was just days ago, Shad, so I I don't even know how I came across it.
- 11:55But, so obviously, a lot of these things that just trample over top of private property
- 12:02rights is just there has to be an end.
- 12:04And because they've been running rampant for really the last twenty five years, besides a
- 12:10small break there in possibly in president Trump's first term, I think our major problem
- 12:15right now is that there's so much happening around the world that we're not able to cut
- 12:20through all of that noise for one small family to say, hey.
- 12:24This is a bigger issue than just one family.
- 12:27Right?
- 12:27And
- 12:28Correct.
- 12:28Some attention brought to it, which is exactly why we're here doing what we're doing today is
- 12:33to raise that awareness and to get this story out as much as we can and to have it go out
- 12:39into the wider world to maybe bring some retention to this because it could be taken
- 12:43care of.
- 12:44With the fell swoop of a pen
- 12:45One pen.
- 12:46This could go away and be done.
- 12:48We just need to cut through that noise.
- 12:50What we're what we're seeing what what has happened is with this infiltration of into
- 12:55these agencies, and then the Trump transition team, took place, the Trump transition took
- 13:02place, we have a lot of holdovers.
- 13:04And what those holdovers do is they they melt back in because they know Trump is a
- 13:10constitutionalist and he's conservative.
- 13:12Right?
- 13:12So these radical ideologues, they don't wanna lose their jobs.
- 13:16So they melt back in and they kinda fit in until the next round of attacks can take place
- 13:21whenever the next leftist, agenda, becomes about.
- 13:26But I will tell you this, Bubba, this issue and these issues are all over The United States.
- 13:31I hear about them every single day, and we've got to remedy all of them.
- 13:35But this issue with the mods in South Dakota is the preeminent issue of our time right now
- 13:41concerning secretary Rollins' overreach of the forest service and the rest of these agencies
- 13:49that are overreaching.
- 13:51And we have to have this rectified right now.
- 13:53I mean, I think this is the time.
- 13:56We're excited about secretary Rollins.
- 13:58We're excited about her leadership.
- 14:00She is a freedom maker, not a freedom taker.
- 14:03But she if she doesn't act on this and drop all charges, if and she has the influence to do
- 14:08that, I think that it's gonna turn into a bigger mess than than what we Right.
- 14:14Because it sets precedence then.
- 14:16And what what this case would do would set precedence precedents for them to do this to
- 14:20more individuals.
- 14:21That's
- 14:21right.
- 14:22To levy the entire weight of The US judicial system and all of that that money.
- 14:28Right?
- 14:28Because that's what they're up against.
- 14:30The they could just bleed out any property owner.
- 14:32Right?
- 14:32It doesn't matter how much land you have.
- 14:34We can just lean on you and lean on you and lean on you and and drag this out till you run
- 14:39out
- 14:40of home.
- 14:40You got a molded farm anyway.
- 14:42That's right.
- 14:43Till you're broke.
- 14:43And what what your listeners, the urban and, urban consumers need to understand is the more
- 14:49people they take off the land, the more dangerous your food supply is.
- 14:53Right?
- 14:54That's what this is about.
- 14:55It causes prices to go up because there's fewer producers.
- 14:58We've already lost, you know, 650,000 producers in the last forty years.
- 15:04That's the thing.
- 15:05And when you say that this is a precedent setter, it is not only a precedent setter on
- 15:09that end, it's a precedent setter on the other end.
- 15:12And Trump and Rollins and Bondi have the power to make this a good case.
- 15:18Because if they don't, it sets a precedent that these overreaching, ideologues and these
- 15:24agencies can do whatever they want.
- 15:26But on the other end, if they take care of this and they fire every one of them, and they all
- 15:31need fire, the judge all the way down, fire every one of them, if they would take care of
- 15:36that, that sets a precedent there and says, you know what?
- 15:39This administration is not gonna put up with this nonsense.
- 15:42This is America, the land of the free, the home of the brave, where liberty reigns and we're
- 15:46gonna shine on the hill like we always have, but you
- 15:49don't get to ruin it.
- 15:50So where is this case taking place at?
- 15:53Is this at the federal in Rapid City?
- 15:55Correct.
- 15:56So Federal Courthouse, Rapid City, South Dakota.
- 15:59What's the date for that, Shad?
- 16:01Well, I'm I'm really not sure.
- 16:03The last date I knew was April 29.
- 16:06And so the closer we get to April 29, the more pressure we're gonna put on these these
- 16:12leaders.
- 16:13But, you know, we the mods have great leadership in their district with,
- 16:18representative Liz Marty May.
- 16:21They have a lot of support just from the, you know, the constitutionalists, the the
- 16:27conservatives of America, and certainly agriculture, and, those who lease government
- 16:34allotments or or public lands have lent great support.
- 16:40Now this isn't anything that we have to get radical about.
- 16:43We can get this fixed and use our heads and and take the high route because we need to show
- 16:49some class here and say this is what we're gonna do.
- 16:51But I assure you, if it is not rectified in due time and when I say rectified, I mean charges.
- 16:59Wrapped.
- 17:00This needs to go away.
- 17:01This is absolutely ridiculous.
- 17:05But if it's not, we're gonna continue to put pressure on them and do may you know, they're
- 17:10here what what people forget is that these agencies and these government institutions are
- 17:15here to serve us.
- 17:16We're the boss.
- 17:17Our government is from the bottom up, not the top down.
- 17:20And when we have these ideology or ideologues infiltrating into these agencies, they become
- 17:27powerful.
- 17:27And I'll tell you another problem that's happening is these, the the coming on of public
- 17:33private partnerships.
- 17:35Right now, even in this case, I think that we could prove that there's a public private
- 17:41partnership between, USDA, and some of these ENGOs that are buying up this land out out in
- 17:51Custer County, South Dakota.
- 17:53And so what happens with the public private partnership is you have radical environmental
- 17:58organizations or any organization, and they get all of you know, they were funded World
- 18:03Wildlife Fund was funded to the tune of $600,000,000 in 02/2023.
- 18:08They can take that money and partner up with the United States Department of Agriculture,
- 18:13the Forest Service, whatever government agency they want, and they could influence their
- 18:17agenda to go a certain direction.
- 18:19That's the dangers of partnership.
- 18:22Now on the other end of that, we have heard governor Noem, who is now the head of the HHS,
- 18:28talk about the use of public private partnerships for good.
- 18:32We also have heard that from secretary Rollins.
- 18:34I want those people to understand that you cannot use a public private partnership, which,
- 18:40by the way, was enabled by the sustains act of 02/2023 by a republican, g t Thompson.
- 18:47And what the sustains act did was it prioritized public private partnerships into
- 18:52these agencies and allowed agency heads to make, rule make rules at their discretion,
- 18:59bypassing congress.
- 19:01That's the danger we're in.
- 19:02It's not a democrat issue.
- 19:04It's not a republican issue.
- 19:05It's an American issue, and we gotta get it stopped.
- 19:08This is big stuff now.
- 19:09This is freedom faking.
- 19:10What you're talking about isn't Democratic, and it isn't it isn't a Republican at all.
- 19:15That is straight communism.
- 19:17Communism.
- 19:17You will you will do what you are told, and and we're just not here for that.
- 19:21We have fought way too hard, especially in the last couple of years to pull ourselves away
- 19:27from that, to let a family like the mods suffer a couple of young ranchers with a beautiful
- 19:32young family to let them go by the wayside and to have to be be trampled by one of these
- 19:37public private, it just doesn't make any sense.
- 19:41There's two there's two groups of people here we have to honor.
- 19:44Number one is it's the it's the men and women who shed blood for this country in the name of
- 19:48liberty and freedom.
- 19:50Those are the first ones.
- 19:51Number two, it's this it's the kids that are coming behind us, coming my kids, your kids,
- 19:57these people's grandchildren.
- 19:58We have to leave this republic.
- 20:01We're not a democracy.
- 20:02I'm tired of hearing that.
- 20:04We have to leave this republic in a shape that those kids get to taste the sweet taste of
- 20:10freedom and liberty.
- 20:11That's what this is about.
- 20:13And they can't do that.
- 20:15We cannot do that without the ability to own private property.
- 20:19The very foundation of the constitution of The United States guarantees, resource access
- 20:25through private property.
- 20:28I don't know of a better way that we could end, this episode.
- 20:32Chad, I appreciate you coming on the program today and shedding some light on the issue.
- 20:37We're gonna do everything that we can, reaching out and sending this episode and others to
- 20:42everyone that we know and encouraging them to send it to their legislators and see how far we
- 20:48can climb this thing up.
- 20:49And maybe it will finally fall on some ears that are ready to listen, and we can get this
- 20:54taken care of.
- 20:56I really think that they have listened.
- 20:57I think they've heard, but they gotta take action now.
- 21:01It's none nothing happens until action takes place, and I appreciate you letting us get this
- 21:05story on, your podcast.
- 21:08It's a very, very important story.
- 21:10It is really the agriculture issue of our time right now.
- 21:14It has to be rectified soon.
- 21:16We're gonna pray that it does and, and pray that God shows his favor on America again.
- 21:21Chad, can you share with us anywhere that we can find out more information about you and
- 21:26your organization and this case in particular?
- 21:30Yeah.
- 21:31So you can go to my Facebook page, Chad Sullivan, American cattle rancher.
- 21:36You can also go to my ex.
- 21:37He's at yearlands.rcalfusa.com is a great place to go, and, there you can find, links to help
- 21:47with the financial burden that the mods have incurred.
- 21:51And I really suggest everybody kinda I I hate to ask for money.
- 21:56I'm not that type of guy, but we these are big bills, and these are young people, and they are
- 22:01community people.
- 22:01They're family people.
- 22:03I mean, Charles Maud, a gentleman told me yesterday, he said Charles Maude's never done a
- 22:09thing wrong in his life.
- 22:10And I know that he's been very influential in his local community.
- 22:15He was a a national FFA award winner.
- 22:19So was, Heather was very active in four h's youth.
- 22:23They're volunteer fire people.
- 22:25They're all about community, and this is just a travesty.
- 22:29Well and I'd like to speak directly to Charles and Heather Maude right now and to tell them
- 22:34that help is most definitely on the way.
- 22:37You have a great team around you.
- 22:39Chad's been very giving of his time today to share your story because obviously, you can't.
- 22:44And and that's, part of what they're trying to do to you, but we're Americans.
- 22:49We are here for you as well, and we're gonna do everything in our power to get this stopped and
- 22:54to help you pay those lawyer bills that aren't gonna go away even if the charges are dropped.
- 22:59So Yeah.
- 23:00I think a big benefit concert or or something of that nature is in order regardless of what
- 23:05happens on April 29.
- 23:07That's right.
