- 2:16Speaker 5: I was on his I was his audience and I
- 2:18Speaker 5: was like that one. I don't know if it's going
- 2:19Speaker 5: to that one, a.
- 2:20Speaker 7: Little deuce, but no, I'm excited.
- 2:22Speaker 8: Interesting tidbit though, and I mean he was an alternate captain,
- 2:25Speaker 8: so I'm going to call that a captain. But both
- 2:27Speaker 8: Andrews and Patrice person and became captains in their third
- 2:30Speaker 8: seasons as professionals. And I mean produced person was twenty
- 2:32Speaker 8: one years old when he became an assistant captain with
- 2:35Speaker 8: the Patriots with the Bruins.
- 2:37Speaker 7: So I'm excited we could tonight.
- 2:39Speaker 1: That's why I look nobody.
- 2:41Speaker 9: I saw you from afar this morning when I got
- 2:43Speaker 9: in and I was like, wow, Mike really.

- 2:48Speaker 1: I got it's Deuce, it's Alex, it's Evan, it's Paul.
- 2:55Speaker 1: To me, it's Matt Nabooth and we're talking Patriots. We

- 3:03Speaker 1: So what do we got today? We know we had
- 3:06Speaker 1: Evans practice report during last show and uh, pretty good attendance.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Other than Remandre, you'll be going out today.
- 3:14Speaker 5: It's going to be cold. Yeah, I'm ready.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Colder today than yesterday, I think, right.
- 3:18Speaker 5: I yeah, this morning it was it was like in
- 3:20Speaker 5: the twenties.
- 3:20Speaker 7: I'm like, oh God, grubs about it.
- 3:22Speaker 5: Yeah, maybe to get some good gloves.
- 3:26Speaker 7: Like heating ones, Like they got to have gloves right now,
- 3:28Speaker 7: you can like turn on the sailor.
- 3:31Speaker 8: I was like, you got to be on the field
- 3:32Speaker 8: all game. You gotta get some saw something. You have jackets?
- 3:34Speaker 5: No, hea, I have one of those. Actually it's a
- 3:37Speaker 5: vest that heats up. There was an old sponsor at clinics.
- 3:41Speaker 8: Does it were you, oh clinis perk uh yeah? Does
- 3:44Speaker 8: it were you wrapping up in like electricity? Like there's
- 3:46Speaker 8: something little about that that we.
- 3:47Speaker 5: Used to have electric blankets, like bringing it on a
- 3:49Speaker 5: plane because.
- 3:52Speaker 7: We're going down because of Evans electric blanket era.
- 3:55Speaker 9: Men doing like construction right now all day in this
- 3:58Speaker 9: weather and it's like fifteen minutes.
- 3:59Speaker 5: Your there, Evan, right, and gloves they have the electric
- 4:04Speaker 5: I'm doing a service.
- 4:05Speaker 1: I love Alex questioning his manhood.
- 4:08Speaker 4: It's not the first time, like a man you can't walk.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Have a great Dan?
- 4:15Speaker 1: Whoa boy?
- 4:16Speaker 9: Whoa this kid?
- 4:19Speaker 1: Alex?
- 4:20Speaker 4: Who are you?
- 4:20Speaker 5: We got a lot of emailers asking who's the girl's.
- 4:25Speaker 7: That long?
- 4:26Speaker 3: My second show today.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Really excited.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Should be here?
- 4:30Speaker 4: Yeah, good food.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Oh I don't think so. We did know.
- 4:35Speaker 7: Where are you guys gonna go? What are you thinking about?
- 4:37Speaker 7: You're going to change it up?
- 4:39Speaker 1: The curtains went to, yelp, you live close?
- 4:42Speaker 4: Do you know of any places that.
- 4:43Speaker 7: I just everybody's been talking about this new place.
- 4:45Speaker 8: It's the Hot Hot It's called Pizza Time and maybe
- 4:49Speaker 8: you guys should try it to say time with a y.
- 4:52Speaker 4: I have a small pep. Thanks t why and take
- 4:55Speaker 4: my water?
- 4:58Speaker 7: He's answering calls.
- 4:59Speaker 4: He's he's busy place in orders. I will say it
- 5:03Speaker 4: happens when I get bogged down and work, I forget
- 5:06Speaker 4: about them.
- 5:07Speaker 7: We were worried about it.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, he didn't come in.
- 5:09Speaker 5: No, I know.
- 5:09Speaker 7: I was just running like I figured you already here.
- 5:11Speaker 4: It was already on because I knew they were doing
- 5:13Speaker 4: Catch twenty two and I was like, well, Michael, come in.
- 5:15Speaker 1: I figured you hit it.
- 5:16Speaker 4: Yeah, and I'm just looking what it's like twelve o two.
- 5:19Speaker 8: I thought you might have been stuck in the no
- 5:20Speaker 8: socks speed trap, which is you know, you get just stuck.
- 5:23Speaker 8: Discussing the state of the team in the world with
- 5:25Speaker 8: No Socks right.
- 5:25Speaker 1: In that little area, can't I gotta go?
- 5:28Speaker 7: I got a radio show.
- 5:30Speaker 4: I was I was actually working on something, but I
- 5:33Speaker 4: just lost track of time. And then Fred came in.
- 5:36Speaker 4: He and he was talking to No Socks, and I
- 5:39Speaker 4: didn't really think anything over and I figured Fred down there,
- 5:42Speaker 4: I should have told me, it's like the two minute warning,
- 5:44Speaker 4: he's getting ready to go do show prep.
- 5:46Speaker 1: You didn't see me leave.
- 5:47Speaker 4: I did, That's what I'm saying. That's my bad. Okay,
- 5:49Speaker 4: all on me.
- 5:50Speaker 7: So what did you drop about t Swift yesterday? Where
- 5:52Speaker 7: you telling the fans you got aggregated?
- 5:55Speaker 1: Bro's that real?
- 5:56Speaker 3: Drops insight?
- 5:57Speaker 1: No, honestly, I started get that.
- 5:59Speaker 4: I said it was on the clips this mort It.
- 6:03Speaker 9: Was like one of the first headlines on the morning.
- 6:05Speaker 1: I thought it was a photoshop.
- 6:07Speaker 4: No, no, no, I I can only wish I did.
- 6:12Speaker 4: I got dubbed.
- 6:12Speaker 1: But so somebody at the Herald is listening for nuggets.
- 6:16Speaker 7: Yeah, and Taylor Swift moves the needle.
- 6:19Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean all I did was basically the same
- 6:21Speaker 4: stuff that we talked about on the show yesterday. I
- 6:23Speaker 4: threw the stuff that Alex had had mentioned about Sunday.
- 6:27Speaker 4: I mentioned the thing that I had heard about Monday
- 6:30Speaker 4: that originally she had she had inquired about Monday, but
- 6:33Speaker 4: I didn't. I didn't really get dubbed because I said,
- 6:36Speaker 4: that's what I said.
- 6:37Speaker 7: You know you're gonna getdubbed for Taylor Swift stuff.
- 6:40Speaker 4: No, I thought, like like to me, like, it's not
- 6:43Speaker 4: really news. I'm just saying, like basically, my was I
- 6:46Speaker 4: have a big fat maybe. I don't know if she's
- 6:48Speaker 4: going to be there. I think she's going to be here,
- 6:49Speaker 4: I think, and that's I said, I think she she
- 6:51Speaker 4: might be, but I don't know for sure.
- 6:53Speaker 5: This is like when I went on the Sports Hub
- 6:55Speaker 5: and they asked me about the Brady week one thing
- 6:57Speaker 5: and I said, I don't know, and they said Evan
- 6:59Speaker 5: Lazar gives insight into Brady and I was like, I said,
- 7:03Speaker 5: I didn't know, and you open the article and it
- 7:06Speaker 5: just says I don't know.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Honestly, I'm, you know, a little surprised that that doesn't
- 7:11Speaker 1: happen more with this Showeah, people taking stuff that we
- 7:16Speaker 1: said and you know, report Alex friends.
- 7:19Speaker 7: Nobody nobody can said through two hours of this.
- 7:21Speaker 4: Yeah, it was from the Hub. It was from the
- 7:24Speaker 4: Sports Hub that I got dubbed Oh, I thought it
- 7:27Speaker 4: was from this show.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Good they have better aggregations.
- 7:31Speaker 1: But I think I have a theory the reason why
- 7:34Speaker 1: they don't do it from this show is because they don't.
- 7:36Speaker 1: They secretly don't want to say that they attend because
- 7:39Speaker 1: everybody listens, but they don't want to admit they're not
- 7:41Speaker 1: p you proud, I'm not. I don't listen to that.
- 7:44Speaker 1: That's a team thing.
- 7:45Speaker 4: We're kind of like we're kind of like point.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Where we just sit around everybody.
- 7:48Speaker 8: God, they're like three in ten, but they're good, Like
- 7:51Speaker 8: they're just awesome. That's all it is, all day, every
- 7:53Speaker 8: day cheerleaders. Right, Who do you think is the most
- 7:56Speaker 8: awesomest patriot?
- 7:59Speaker 1: Yeah? But you know, like yesterday we just happened to
- 8:01Speaker 1: be talking about San Francisco and somebody from San Francisco
- 8:05Speaker 1: who's listening? You know?
- 8:07Speaker 4: Right? They got a Super Bowl too? Did you see that?
- 8:10Speaker 4: Is that?
- 8:10Speaker 10: Right?
- 8:11Speaker 4: Was different to coming up in La a few years
- 8:14Speaker 4: said there's another one at so FU.
- 8:15Speaker 1: We talked about it yesterday, but Brazil, Yeah, in two years.
- 8:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:20Speaker 5: I was talking to Martine about that before open locker
- 8:23Speaker 5: room yesterday and he said that, you know, we're not
- 8:27Speaker 5: as big in Brazil anymore, and uh he but along
- 8:31Speaker 5: with you know, obviously Brady not being here. He equated
- 8:35Speaker 5: a lot of it to Gizelle, Oh yeah yeah, and
- 8:36Speaker 5: said that that was a big reason why he felt
- 8:39Speaker 5: that that people in Brazil were Patriots fans.
- 8:41Speaker 4: So this break is really a break kids.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Should we get those kids back together.
- 8:45Speaker 5: You know, the people that were commenting yesterday on the
- 8:49Speaker 5: show about you know us talking about beaches and printers,
- 8:52Speaker 5: they're gonna love to open it.
- 8:53Speaker 4: This one really back into the x's and was here
- 8:58Speaker 4: foot prologies.
- 8:59Speaker 7: They got enough of that for two hours, and you
- 9:01Speaker 7: guys took care of that.
- 9:03Speaker 5: We did.
- 9:03Speaker 1: So let's turn our attention to the Kansas City Chiefs
- 9:06Speaker 1: and your round table came out to Mike Has. Everyone
- 9:11Speaker 1: answered that.
- 9:12Speaker 4: I do like how you feel necessary to share it
- 9:15Speaker 4: with the whole class.
- 9:16Speaker 5: Big You're a big reply.
- 9:18Speaker 1: All guy, I did think with a Oh I didn't
- 9:23Speaker 1: read it, I just saw.
- 9:24Speaker 4: He replied.
- 9:24Speaker 3: I can't lie.
- 9:25Speaker 9: I almost had the same Taylor Swift one as him,
- 9:27Speaker 9: so when I saw his, I had to change my.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Oh really, I really appreciated friend's response.
- 9:31Speaker 8: I didn't read all of them yet, but I had
- 9:32Speaker 8: to go to the last one, which was you know,
- 9:33Speaker 8: describe your prediction for the game and a Taylor Swift song.
- 9:36Speaker 8: And when I was writing the question, I was like,
- 9:37Speaker 8: oh man, this might be tough for Fred. Like I
- 9:39Speaker 8: imagine Alex is like, oh my god, I finally can
- 9:41Speaker 8: like category.
- 9:42Speaker 7: I mean me too, like I know.
- 9:43Speaker 4: Immediately sent out a text chain. If you guys need
- 9:46Speaker 4: help with this, just let me know. I have I
- 9:48Speaker 4: have seven options.
- 9:49Speaker 8: I thought he was going to be a paragraph of
- 9:50Speaker 8: all was the question the song was The question was
- 9:53Speaker 8: described you know your prediction for the game using a
- 9:55Speaker 8: Taylor Swift song, and so Fred then you know, stood
- 9:59Speaker 8: up and said, I had go to Wikipedia for this.
- 10:01Speaker 5: I had no idea the I think I know, shake
- 10:04Speaker 5: it off, right, I reference my favorite Taylor.
- 10:06Speaker 7: Swift which one is? Oh yeah, I don't know, I
- 10:10Speaker 7: forget which one? You said, trouble Trouble. Oh yeah, I
- 10:13Speaker 7: liked Alex's. That was a good one.
- 10:15Speaker 3: That was a deep cut though.
- 10:16Speaker 1: So we're going to leave that. You have to read.
- 10:20Speaker 5: Yeah, I shouldn't have given mine away. Read it for hour.
- 10:23Speaker 4: I feel.
- 10:26Speaker 1: One of your questions and we'll give this one away.
- 10:30Speaker 1: You know, what can the Patriots. Do you know the
- 10:33Speaker 1: Chiefs have had trouble lately? What can the Patriots do?
- 10:37Speaker 1: You know? Yeah, and we talked about it. I think
- 10:39Speaker 1: the Patriots have done a pretty good job even before
- 10:42Speaker 1: this year of at least making these Chiefs games manageable,
- 10:46Speaker 1: you know, like they haven't gotten out a hand, and
- 10:50Speaker 1: I think that's obviously because of the good defense. You know.
- 10:55Speaker 8: Yeah, I kind of want to lean on Paul with
- 10:56Speaker 8: these ones because I you know, he'll break out the
- 10:58Speaker 8: computer and you remember how all those games went. But
- 11:00Speaker 8: I mean, just like looking back and my cloudy record
- 11:03Speaker 8: recollection of those games were Yeah, I mean had a
- 11:06Speaker 8: chance that the COVID game, I mean, those were weird circumstances.
- 11:09Speaker 7: But you know, I don't I don't know.
- 11:11Speaker 8: I just I they went off in twenty eighteen and
- 11:14Speaker 8: it was a back and forth and there's no way
- 11:15Speaker 8: these Patriots can compete in that game. But at least,
- 11:18Speaker 8: you know, holding the score down and then Nikhil har
- 11:20Speaker 8: everything in twenty nineteen with the out of bounds you know,
- 11:22Speaker 8: like you just you felt like they were in it.
- 11:23Speaker 8: And that's like, I feel like they'll be okay without
- 11:26Speaker 8: Tyreek Hill at least they'll be able to maybe they
- 11:28Speaker 8: know what to do.
- 11:28Speaker 7: I don't know if to be able to act.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Yeah, somebody was saying, how can Mahomes, you know, whine
- 11:32Speaker 1: about that call when this call, when this happened in
- 11:35Speaker 1: a game that was the same, But I mean they,
- 11:39Speaker 1: I mean that was a touchdown that Nikhil Harry.
- 11:42Speaker 7: He would have been in the Hall of Fame if
- 11:43Speaker 7: he ruled that right.
- 11:44Speaker 1: I think his career would have taken a hold.
- 11:46Speaker 4: The Patriots would have Oh no, wait a minute, they wouldn't.
- 11:49Speaker 3: That was the one pivotal moment.
- 11:50Speaker 7: Everything that's all fell apart.
- 11:52Speaker 4: I do, like I do enjoy them that they had
- 11:54Speaker 4: to feet. The meme is is funny, like you know,
- 11:57Speaker 4: like because people tongue in cheeks say like Hall of
- 12:00Speaker 4: Fame career derailed on this plast I do.
- 12:02Speaker 5: Like some people aren't tongue in cheek about it.
- 12:05Speaker 4: I like to give people more credit than that, not
- 12:07Speaker 4: not much more, as you know, I don't necessarily think that.
- 12:10Speaker 4: But the bigger thing Fred when to me, there's really
- 12:13Speaker 4: been only one game, Like all those games that the
- 12:16Speaker 4: Patriots and Chiefs played, both teams were really good. Yeah,
- 12:19Speaker 4: there's only one game that the Patriots weren't really good. Yeah,
- 12:22Speaker 4: and it was like close twenty six.
- 12:24Speaker 7: Yeah, you know, Hoyer make a mistakes.
- 12:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean Hoyer is the reason why the Patriots
- 12:28Speaker 4: had no chance.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Yeah, no question, but they did have a chance in
- 12:32Speaker 1: that game, and then the second fell apart, right, it
- 12:35Speaker 1: fell apart.
- 12:36Speaker 4: You have a chance when the game starts.
- 12:38Speaker 5: Yeah, zero zero.
- 12:42Speaker 11: No.
- 12:42Speaker 4: I like this though, no, beause it's it's not unbelievable,
- 12:45Speaker 4: like I just you just yeah in the second half,
- 12:48Speaker 4: like yeah, well yeah, so they didn't have a chance
- 12:50Speaker 4: to win the game.
- 12:51Speaker 5: They were in the game, they didn't think was going
- 12:53Speaker 5: to bring them back.
- 12:54Speaker 8: Well, but this is a question for you, Paul, I
- 12:55Speaker 8: mean in this, I'm I mean this, you know, totally real, Like,
- 12:58Speaker 8: I mean, do you feel like they've had a good
- 12:59Speaker 8: play from Homes and like you know, been able to
- 13:01Speaker 8: kind of do anything against himers just kind of circumstantial.
- 13:04Speaker 4: I think they're I think they're fine. Like, I think
- 13:07Speaker 4: their defense has been fine for a lot of years.
- 13:09Speaker 4: I don't think the defense is the problem. I just
- 13:12Speaker 4: don't think it's as good as everybody else does. That's all. Yeah,
- 13:14Speaker 4: it sounds like like Fred will get mad at me,
- 13:17Speaker 4: like that's not I think their defense has not been
- 13:20Speaker 4: the re I mean, I guess you go back to
- 13:23Speaker 4: like sixteen seventeen seventeen game those the defense had no answers.
- 13:28Speaker 7: Oh the opening game.
- 13:29Speaker 4: I unlike most people, I don't forget those when Alex
- 13:32Speaker 4: Smith is putting forty two on you, Like, I don't
- 13:35Speaker 4: forget that.
- 13:35Speaker 5: Yeah, that was one of the worst defensive games of
- 13:37Speaker 5: the Belichick ero. Like just in terms of yards.
- 13:39Speaker 7: Of Kareem Hunt, I remember him running like crazy. Yeah,
- 13:42Speaker 7: how was that that one?
- 13:43Speaker 5: Until the Super Bowl that year? That was the worst
- 13:45Speaker 5: I think in terms of stats, like the worst most yards,
- 13:48Speaker 5: most points, everything. But they they've been good, like in halves.
- 13:53Speaker 4: Yeah, Like I think the two games in eighteen were
- 13:56Speaker 4: forty thirty something.
- 13:58Speaker 5: They were really good, you know in eighteen, And it
- 14:00Speaker 5: seems to be first halves, like so they have like
- 14:02Speaker 5: a good game plan and then read and and then
- 14:05Speaker 5: they they because in eighteen in the regular season I
- 14:09Speaker 5: think that they held them down. Remember Dante high Tower
- 14:11Speaker 5: had to pick and they held him down relatively well
- 14:13Speaker 5: in the first half, and then they erupted in the
- 14:15Speaker 5: second half. If I'm not mistaken, I think both halves
- 14:19Speaker 5: in those games, they scored thirty and the Chiefs did
- 14:21Speaker 5: in the second half of both games, and so it's
- 14:24Speaker 5: really like an adjustment adjustment thing, I think between Belichick.
- 14:28Speaker 1: And the Patriots.
- 14:30Speaker 5: Yeah, so they played a lot. They play a lot
- 14:32Speaker 5: of man coverage against the Chiefs, which most teams don't
- 14:35Speaker 5: because they don't have the horses to hang in man
- 14:37Speaker 5: coverage against them. But I think the Patriots are so
- 14:40Speaker 5: worried about Kelsey against zone that they play a lot
- 14:42Speaker 5: of man. And then in the second half of the
- 14:44Speaker 5: championship game. Every Patriots honk will tell you the pick
- 14:47Speaker 5: plays and the you know, legal pick plays down the
- 14:50Speaker 5: field and all that stuff. But that's really kind of
- 14:52Speaker 5: what got the Chiefs going was that they started running
- 14:55Speaker 5: a lot more rubb routes and pick plays and things
- 14:57Speaker 5: like that and against man coverage and and that's what
- 15:00Speaker 5: opened up the game in the fourth quarter. But that's
- 15:03Speaker 5: not necessarily been the book on Mahomes on the whole,
- 15:06Speaker 5: Like the Patriots version is, you know, mostly man. In
- 15:09Speaker 5: twenty they played a lot of drop eight like zone
- 15:11Speaker 5: coverage against them and were okay that way, but too
- 15:15Speaker 5: high safety zone has really been like the kryptonite of
- 15:17Speaker 5: this entire Chiefs offense is you know, split safety, deep
- 15:20Speaker 5: safety zone and make them check it down, make them
- 15:23Speaker 5: matriculate it down the field. And that's been sort of
- 15:27Speaker 5: was take over taken over the league honestly against the
- 15:30Speaker 5: Chiefs and how to slow them down.
- 15:31Speaker 8: Yeah, just to compliment your point too, like just in
- 15:34Speaker 8: his hindsight of studying the defense over those years, like
- 15:36Speaker 8: twenty twenty was like anomally for the Patriots, Like they
- 15:39Speaker 8: just they like just ran like one linebacker with Bentley,
- 15:41Speaker 8: like it just when you look at like what they
- 15:42Speaker 8: played and then you know what they had and that
- 15:44Speaker 8: whole year, So maybe.
- 15:45Speaker 7: That was part of it.
- 15:46Speaker 5: Twenty twenty.
- 15:47Speaker 1: They adjusted the defense then because there were no fans
- 15:50Speaker 1: and you could hear the calls and all that.
- 15:52Speaker 8: No, I just think they didn't have anybody to play
- 15:54Speaker 8: like they just were. I mean they were you know what,
- 15:56Speaker 8: Tayshan Bauer. I mean they had practice squad guys.
- 15:59Speaker 7: I mean, I just it was it was a mess
- 16:01Speaker 7: that I actually.
- 16:02Speaker 5: Thought their game plan against the Chiefs in twenty twenty,
- 16:05Speaker 5: as shorthanded as they were a personnel wise, not a
- 16:08Speaker 5: lot of teams were playing drop eight coverage, right, like,
- 16:10Speaker 5: so you rush three guys and you drop eight into coverage.
- 16:13Speaker 5: And that was sort of the first game that anybody
- 16:15Speaker 5: had ever done that against Mahomes, and he was in
- 16:17Speaker 5: the beginning of the game was kind of shaken by it.
- 16:19Speaker 5: Like I don't really think that. I think it worked
- 16:22Speaker 5: for the Patriots for a while, and now a lot
- 16:24Speaker 5: more teams do that, a lot more teams played.
- 16:26Speaker 4: But I think they've done really well against Mahomes is
- 16:28Speaker 4: they've they've forced turnovers and not just picks. Like even
- 16:31Speaker 4: in that game, I want to say, I want to say,
- 16:34Speaker 4: they scored quickly, then they were going down to score
- 16:37Speaker 4: again and Sammy Watkins got stripped.
- 16:41Speaker 7: I'm gonna take your word for it.
- 16:43Speaker 4: You know, in the red zone like they and I
- 16:45Speaker 4: know that there was a game here, the Nikil Harry
- 16:47Speaker 4: game here he threw a bad pick to High Tower
- 16:51Speaker 4: on RPO that he I think that build just baffled Homes.
- 16:56Speaker 4: He confused him and had High Tower in a spot
- 16:58Speaker 4: that he wasn't expecting. So nineteen or eighteen, Okay, maybe
- 17:01Speaker 4: it was eighteen. I thought it was nineteen, but you
- 17:03Speaker 4: might be regardless. And I just feel like they've done
- 17:06Speaker 4: a good job of turning the Chiefs over. Now this year,
- 17:10Speaker 4: the Chiefs have just turned the ball over in every game, so,
- 17:13Speaker 4: I mean they were down with the Patriots and turnover margin.
- 17:17Speaker 4: So I don't know if that's because of I think
- 17:20Speaker 4: it's because of the receivers. I think a lot of
- 17:22Speaker 4: their turnovers have been the result of drop passes that
- 17:24Speaker 4: are resulted in picks. But you know, I don't know
- 17:28Speaker 4: if that's a defensive thing necessarily, but they've been able
- 17:31Speaker 4: to take the ball away from from Mahomes a little bit.
- 17:34Speaker 4: You steal possessions that way.
- 17:35Speaker 7: Yeah, got it? Just a quick good SID stat.
- 17:37Speaker 4: SID stats don't care for.
- 17:40Speaker 8: Two things for the next gen that they sent out.
- 17:41Speaker 8: But this will be the first game in NFL history
- 17:43Speaker 8: with head coaches that have combined for five hundred plus
- 17:45Speaker 8: regular season wins or six hundred plus total wins in
- 17:48Speaker 8: their career entering the game.
- 17:49Speaker 7: Kind of this interesting little historical place.
- 17:52Speaker 4: That is an SID status. I've ever heard one.
- 17:54Speaker 7: You know what, can I share one more thing from?
- 17:55Speaker 7: You know? So they send the NFL sends these out
- 17:57Speaker 7: every week, the little package.
- 17:59Speaker 5: On one o'clock on Sunday.
- 18:01Speaker 7: That's a little bit too specific.
- 18:03Speaker 4: First time Patriots in Chiefs at one o'clock.
- 18:05Speaker 8: Oh wait, Usually these are all next gen stats, and
- 18:07Speaker 8: you know there's a lot of good stuff, you know, like,
- 18:09Speaker 8: for example, Bailey's appy is as many deep passing tds
- 18:11Speaker 8: in twenty three uh one as Patrick mahomes one.
- 18:14Speaker 7: But the other the most interesting part to me was
- 18:17Speaker 7: that they included Belichick.
- 18:19Speaker 8: Quote saw a little bit of a Taylor Swift concert
- 18:21Speaker 8: at Jillette Stadium in May, and this is hyperlink to
- 18:24Speaker 8: Patriots dot com called her performance in the rain pretty impressive.
- 18:27Speaker 8: I've never seen them link to anything in my life,
- 18:30Speaker 8: and they linked to Taylor Swift and Patriots dot com.
- 18:33Speaker 4: Right, Alex, did you write that?
- 18:35Speaker 8: I think this was a Veronica. I think this was
- 18:37Speaker 8: a Veronica, So credit credit. I don't know if she
- 18:39Speaker 8: wrote it.
- 18:40Speaker 4: But when Bill said that you didn't write anything up
- 18:42Speaker 4: on that.
- 18:42Speaker 3: I had to.
- 18:43Speaker 9: But yeah, of course, so maybe they to the video.
- 18:49Speaker 5: They're getting you click cute.
- 18:51Speaker 4: He has his own cult.
- 18:52Speaker 7: Un till Taylor Swift made the next gen.
- 18:54Speaker 4: And I will say, so.
- 18:56Speaker 5: You know I used to make those stat packs back
- 18:58Speaker 5: you know.
- 18:58Speaker 1: You must love it. How did you quick that job?
- 19:04Speaker 7: In games? In December?
- 19:05Speaker 1: At one?
- 19:07Speaker 5: It was honestly day it was a dream come true.
- 19:10Speaker 5: It really was the only reason why I left was
- 19:13Speaker 5: to come cover the Rell dream, which was to cover
- 19:16Speaker 5: the Patriots. But yeah, I used to make those stat
- 19:19Speaker 5: packs and stuff like that, the Taylor Swift stuff like
- 19:21Speaker 5: we would have to be aware of stuff like that,
- 19:24Speaker 5: like pop culture like Tommy DeVito, like for example, like
- 19:27Speaker 5: we'd have to like add that to the stat pack
- 19:30Speaker 5: somehow of like you know how many chicken cutlets Tommy
- 19:33Speaker 5: DeVito eat, pregames.
- 19:34Speaker 7: And everyone else.
- 19:35Speaker 8: Because you were just like, yes, like they're gonna give
- 19:37Speaker 8: us the package to take guys.
- 19:39Speaker 5: No, actually, they they really liked me though, because I
- 19:43Speaker 5: would so we would divvy.
- 19:45Speaker 4: Up was the one that we.
- 19:48Speaker 5: Would we would get in the group project. We would
- 19:51Speaker 5: divvy up the games every single week, like there's a
- 19:53Speaker 5: whole team of us, right, and so like you divvy
- 19:55Speaker 5: up the schedule, and they would they wouldn't even ask
- 19:58Speaker 5: who wants the Patriots game. They would just give it
- 20:00Speaker 5: to me because I could just do it without it,
- 20:02Speaker 5: you know, really looking anything up. You know, it was
- 20:04Speaker 5: so easy for me to do the Patriots game.
- 20:05Speaker 4: So that's how I get in trouble.
- 20:07Speaker 5: Yeah, So they were just like be like all right, well,
- 20:09Speaker 5: so Evan has the Patriots game next, like you know,
- 20:12Speaker 5: like stuff like that's.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Like the nerds.
- 20:13Speaker 5: Yeah, oh you know that was that was That was
- 20:18Speaker 5: my first shot out of college and it was it
- 20:20Speaker 5: was great, especially.
- 20:21Speaker 7: Because they were, you know, going in Super Bowls at.
- 20:23Speaker 5: The time, and everybody like around you know, this is
- 20:26Speaker 5: the NFL network for people that aren't familiar, and everybody,
- 20:29Speaker 5: like in the news room would wear like jerseys and
- 20:33Speaker 5: of their favorite team. It was like we were all fans,
- 20:35Speaker 5: like very outworthly fans, so like you would want as
- 20:39Speaker 5: a Patriots fan, like you'd walk with your chest like this, right,
- 20:41Speaker 5: Like I would walk in on Sundays with the Brady
- 20:43Speaker 5: jersey on, and I'd be like he was kiss the
- 20:47Speaker 5: rings like you know, like it was like no one
- 20:50Speaker 5: else could you know, you have a Bears fan over here,
- 20:52Speaker 5: like a team you got shooters what.
- 20:58Speaker 1: I mean back in the day, like you know, we'd
- 21:00Speaker 1: have conferences and stuff with the league and you go
- 21:03Speaker 1: in as a Patriot employee. Oh it's like your royalty.
- 21:06Speaker 9: Well now it's even those days just as like I
- 21:09Speaker 9: used to love I used to say, wearing like my
- 21:11Speaker 9: Pats baseball hat to the airport was like my favorite
- 21:14Speaker 9: flex because of ts Age and so like screw New England.
- 21:17Speaker 8: You're like like living in la a lot of transplants
- 21:20Speaker 8: and that.
- 21:21Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 21:22Speaker 5: So you know Greg Rosenthal who does the Around the
- 21:25Speaker 5: NFL podcast, big Patriots fan too, So him and I
- 21:28Speaker 5: would talk about the game.
- 21:29Speaker 4: Really you can't tell if I'm listening to his analysis,
- 21:31Speaker 4: and it.
- 21:32Speaker 5: Was it was a lot of fun.
- 21:33Speaker 8: Well, it's a little bit how I feel fred Maybe
- 21:35Speaker 8: coming up for the combine when we you know, we
- 21:36Speaker 8: might be the number two overall draft picks.
- 21:38Speaker 7: You walk in like, who are we going to pick?
- 21:40Speaker 4: A lot of flexing, A lot of flexing over the
- 21:41Speaker 4: years of the combine.
- 21:42Speaker 8: Yeah, absolutely, yeah, sure, Now we're gonna get actually to
- 21:46Speaker 8: get you know, to choose somebody really good, so it'll
- 21:48Speaker 8: be fun.
- 21:48Speaker 7: Usually you're staying away from like.
- 21:50Speaker 8: Like I mean last year, honestly, like I was, like,
- 21:51Speaker 8: I remember walking by Gonzalez and being like, I can't
- 21:54Speaker 8: even invest in this right now because it's not I
- 21:56Speaker 8: didn't think of the time that it was any way
- 21:57Speaker 8: that they were gonna be able to get them.
- 21:58Speaker 5: I'm a little concerned because last year I was at
- 22:02Speaker 5: the I tried to ask Bryce Young a question about
- 22:05Speaker 5: Bill O'Brien, and so I went to the podium for
- 22:07Speaker 5: Bryce Young and the amount of people, like it's like
- 22:11Speaker 5: such a huge pack of people, but now we want
- 22:13Speaker 5: to talk to those people because they might be patriotic.
- 22:16Speaker 5: It's not about the coordinator, it's about Drake may Is
- 22:19Speaker 5: at the podium and.
- 22:19Speaker 7: Like you got to get up there.
- 22:20Speaker 5: Yeah, like you're gonna get there early. You have to
- 22:22Speaker 5: get there early. And like camp out the night before
- 22:25Speaker 5: the picker.
- 22:25Speaker 7: You you got no chance.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Get that, get that, get that.
- 22:28Speaker 4: I don't want you to looking at the top three picks.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Times have changed, all right? So what else do we
- 22:36Speaker 1: need to talk about about this game?
- 22:38Speaker 5: The defense? The Chiefs defense. I think that's how they.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Run the pressure has you know, Chris Jones has always
- 22:45Speaker 1: been a guy, but he's got there's other guys now
- 22:49Speaker 1: that are creating havoc for them.
- 22:50Speaker 8: Well, I think, I mean, I think it's interesting how
- 22:52Speaker 8: they're using Tree mcduffy, just you know, in hindsight, he
- 22:55Speaker 8: was a guy that we were all kind of seeing
- 22:56Speaker 8: patriotsy and you know Bill talking about just how they
- 22:59Speaker 8: use him as as I mean almost kind of like
- 23:01Speaker 8: Jonathan Jones pre before. Now he's become kind of a
- 23:03Speaker 8: full outside corner, but you know somebody who could be
- 23:06Speaker 8: on the outside. But then on third down they move
- 23:09Speaker 8: him into the slot and he can be really effective
- 23:11Speaker 8: on the blitzes. I mean if if if Douglas is back,
- 23:13Speaker 8: he'll probably you know, draw some some of McDuffie. I
- 23:16Speaker 8: think Snead is is having an underrated season. I mean
- 23:19Speaker 8: he's been really good for them too, so you know,
- 23:21Speaker 8: his park are able to get back and kind of
- 23:23Speaker 8: occupy him a little bit. I think those are a
- 23:25Speaker 8: couple of matchups just.
- 23:26Speaker 4: Him, no name players in the secondary, but their stats
- 23:29Speaker 4: are really really good. Snead pass defense is really really strong.
- 23:34Speaker 5: Yeah, they're fifth in the league and dv A against
- 23:36Speaker 5: the pass, and they're they're really good disguised defense too,
- 23:39Speaker 5: Like they do a bunch of different things. They throw
- 23:41Speaker 5: a lot at you. They're really good at creating unblocked
- 23:44Speaker 5: their like free runners to the quarterback with their blitz
- 23:46Speaker 5: schemes there. This is a really really well coached defense.
- 23:50Speaker 5: And Spagnolo has had the Patriots number in the past
- 23:53Speaker 5: at times, and he's a really good defensive coordinator. And
- 23:56Speaker 5: I think when you look at ways that the Chiefs
- 23:59Speaker 5: could kind of blow out the Patriots in this game.
- 24:01Speaker 5: It's the Patriots not being able to move the ball
- 24:03Speaker 5: offensively or turning the ball over like crazy, because that
- 24:05Speaker 5: Chiefs defense is legit.
- 24:07Speaker 8: I thought there are a couple just some of the
- 24:09Speaker 8: next gen stuff that stood out to me kind of
- 24:10Speaker 8: the similarities between two of the defenses and differences. They're
- 24:14Speaker 8: both second and third in dimes, so when we talking
- 24:16Speaker 8: about that all year, they play a ton of dime
- 24:17Speaker 8: and you know, twenty ninth and thirties and nickels, so
- 24:19Speaker 8: they like the dime sixth and Nathan man coverage twenty
- 24:22Speaker 8: fifth and twenty seventh and zone. So they're both man
- 24:24Speaker 8: heavy defenses. But where they kind of diverges single high.
- 24:30Speaker 8: Kansas City's thirty second and single high and they're first
- 24:32Speaker 8: in split safety. The Patriots are thirtieth and split safety
- 24:35Speaker 8: and eighth and single high. So you know, some similarities.
- 24:38Speaker 8: Some difference is just how they kind of do it strategically.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's next gen.
- 24:43Speaker 7: You said, yeah, this is the package package.
- 24:46Speaker 5: Yeah they send us and you get the I don't
- 24:48Speaker 5: look at it.
- 24:49Speaker 7: I do my work.
- 24:49Speaker 4: Yeah, but how do they like in fairness? I used
- 24:54Speaker 4: to look at it.
- 24:55Speaker 1: But when you're talking about single high or split safety,
- 24:58Speaker 1: a lot of teams start out that way.
- 25:00Speaker 7: And then it more start finished.
- 25:02Speaker 1: I'm just wondering, like, that's how you finish, Okay, it
- 25:06Speaker 1: is how you finished.
- 25:07Speaker 5: This is kind of context. This is gonna be a
- 25:09Speaker 5: weird progress so next year actually, which is really cool.
- 25:14Speaker 5: This is really nerdy, but this is really cool. They
- 25:17Speaker 5: do pre snap safety shell and post snap safety shell,
- 25:19Speaker 5: so you can go into the database and sort.
- 25:22Speaker 7: This exactly day spin the dial.
- 25:24Speaker 5: And uh they this though, these numbers are what they
- 25:27Speaker 5: played in the down right, Like this is post snap
- 25:30Speaker 5: coverage shell. All right, yeah, but.
- 25:32Speaker 8: I mean another part of this that I kind of
- 25:33Speaker 8: put together down was like every player has a tracking
- 25:36Speaker 8: device on them. I don't think any I haven't really,
- 25:38Speaker 8: I didn't really put it all together. But now that
- 25:39Speaker 8: we have access to this stuff, and that's you know,
- 25:41Speaker 8: it's all like computerized.
- 25:43Speaker 1: It's not like somebody's sitting there like and the stuff
- 25:45Speaker 1: that they publish is only a fraction of what they
- 25:47Speaker 1: actually have.
- 25:48Speaker 12: I know.
- 25:48Speaker 5: Their base that we play around with is awesome.
- 25:51Speaker 1: You know, because the Competition Committee controls what they can
- 25:54Speaker 1: release as a result of all these sensors. And by
- 25:57Speaker 1: the way, there's not just sensors on the players, sensors
- 26:01Speaker 1: in different places on the field too.
- 26:02Speaker 5: And I get someone in the ball so that we
- 26:06Speaker 5: can market properly.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Like they don't release all the stuff they have, because
- 26:10Speaker 1: the Competition Committee hasn't approved it.
- 26:12Speaker 8: Yeah you know, I mean, it's just it's they're tracking
- 26:15Speaker 8: wherever they are on the field, how fast they're moving,
- 26:17Speaker 8: when they're going, where they're going they take.
- 26:19Speaker 7: Yeah, it's all they.
- 26:20Speaker 3: Probably have, like their heartbeat rate.
- 26:21Speaker 1: They they have, I believe it health analytics, but they
- 26:25Speaker 1: don't release that.
- 26:26Speaker 9: I would like to see at least what they're measuring.
- 26:28Speaker 3: If you're not going to give us the actual info,
- 26:29Speaker 3: like I'd want to.
- 26:30Speaker 5: Know that we might be able to find that out.
- 26:32Speaker 5: But the cool thing I think too, is like, so
- 26:35Speaker 5: you can go into the database that Deuce and I
- 26:37Speaker 5: have that I think that they're going to make available
- 26:39Speaker 5: to the public as like a paid subscription. And uh
- 26:44Speaker 5: so they have like a play page where it just
- 26:46Speaker 5: has all this information about that individual play and I'll
- 26:50Speaker 5: look at like what they call the coverage, and the
- 26:53Speaker 5: dots are like really really accurate, Like I only like
- 26:56Speaker 5: every once in a while I'll find one where I'm like,
- 26:59Speaker 5: it says quarter, but like I don't think this is quarters,
- 27:01Speaker 5: but like nine times out of ten it's right. It's
- 27:03Speaker 5: like really accurate data.
- 27:05Speaker 3: It's really so expensive.
- 27:07Speaker 7: Yeah, it's worth it. I mean, it's one.
- 27:09Speaker 8: It's probably my favorite job perk this year though, I mean,
- 27:11Speaker 8: just the things that we've been able to expand and
- 27:13Speaker 8: watch and it's fun.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Evan's right. I know it's either going to be part
- 27:17Speaker 1: of the NFL.
- 27:18Speaker 4: For the reason why I'm with Dynasa, you.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Know, it's either going to be part of NFL Plus
- 27:21Speaker 1: or an enhanced NFL Plus where you can pay and
- 27:23Speaker 1: get access to all this stuff. But can you imagine
- 27:26Speaker 1: when that happens all the arm chair.
- 27:30Speaker 4: Much worse than this, I don't know.
- 27:31Speaker 7: That's why I feel like we've already crosted.
- 27:33Speaker 1: All these cottage industry websites are going to pop up,
- 27:36Speaker 1: you know.
- 27:37Speaker 5: Just the page two that I really love is so
- 27:40Speaker 5: each quarterback has like a profile page. So like when
- 27:44Speaker 5: I'm doing game plan every single week, I can pull
- 27:46Speaker 5: up the opposing quarterback and it has all the splits
- 27:49Speaker 5: of everything that they track, So like like Mahomes is
- 27:52Speaker 5: splits against Cover one versus Cover two like it has
- 27:56Speaker 5: it all like in one spot and you can see
- 27:58Speaker 5: the like side by comparisons, which makes it like so
- 28:02Speaker 5: much easier for people like me that are really getting
- 28:04Speaker 5: into the nitty gritty of the matchups. I'm a great
- 28:07Speaker 5: spokesperson for them too.
- 28:08Speaker 4: Man, I'm with you.
- 28:09Speaker 8: I should really I want to start a fun for
- 28:11Speaker 8: Taylor Kyle's to make sure he gets it, because I
- 28:13Speaker 8: feel like he he would absolutely.
- 28:15Speaker 5: I don't want to. I don't want to blow up
- 28:17Speaker 5: his spot, but I think he has a login from.
- 28:19Speaker 7: Oh good, yeah, okay, yeah, good for him, all right.
- 28:22Speaker 4: And I just think it's not about like whether or
- 28:24Speaker 4: not anybody is any good at it. That's why I said,
- 28:26Speaker 4: you know, like not this is not necessarily say I
- 28:28Speaker 4: just feel like everybody does this now, Like when initially
- 28:33Speaker 4: became available to the there's a niche for people, and
- 28:36Speaker 4: I know that some people really really like it. I
- 28:38Speaker 4: just that takes all the enjoyment from the game.
- 28:40Speaker 5: I think for me, the big thing for me is like,
- 28:44Speaker 5: so I'll watch like the Packers Chiefs game and I'll
- 28:47Speaker 5: be like, oh, it seemed like the Packers played a
- 28:49Speaker 5: lot of like cover two in this game, and then
- 28:51Speaker 5: I can actually tangibly tell you how often they played
- 28:55Speaker 5: cover two, whereas like otherwise I would have had to
- 28:58Speaker 5: like you.
- 28:58Speaker 4: To fly by the CDA pants like no, otherwise I
- 29:02Speaker 4: have to.
- 29:02Speaker 5: Do it by hand like i'd have to. And this
- 29:04Speaker 5: that this saves me so much time because I don't
- 29:06Speaker 5: have to do it by hand.
- 29:07Speaker 4: Did you see this stuff about poisingis and his points
- 29:10Speaker 4: per possession and uh points in the post? And like
- 29:14Speaker 4: I just like sometimes just kill me if I need
- 29:17Speaker 4: to watch the game.
- 29:18Speaker 7: And there are some.
- 29:19Speaker 1: People who are doing it analysis that you know, say
- 29:21Speaker 1: that they watched every game twice.
- 29:24Speaker 7: That's why I heard every that's the new thing. You're
- 29:27Speaker 7: got it once?
- 29:28Speaker 10: Do you?
- 29:28Speaker 1: How do you have time?
- 29:29Speaker 4: Like, all, right, here we go.
- 29:30Speaker 7: What do we got here?
- 29:31Speaker 8: The Giants myself watched basically the Giants and the Chargers
- 29:35Speaker 8: with the back of quarterback.
- 29:36Speaker 7: Let's round two, let's go. I got it again?
- 29:39Speaker 8: Imagine I think it is just watch my but like
- 29:43Speaker 8: in all seriousness, like that's what I like about football though,
- 29:46Speaker 8: is that like there's so much going on that like
- 29:48Speaker 8: you can watch it that way and you can have
- 29:50Speaker 8: plenty to say, or you can if you really want
- 29:52Speaker 8: to get into the nitty gritty and that's your thing,
- 29:54Speaker 8: then then go for it.
- 29:55Speaker 7: You know, it's just I think there's just twenty two
- 29:58Speaker 7: guys on the field at all times, and you don't.
- 30:00Speaker 1: I mean, it's been a calls gift is he can
- 30:01Speaker 1: watch it and take it.
- 30:02Speaker 4: I was gonna say maybe if I watched the game twice,
- 30:04Speaker 4: I remember if it was eighteen or nineteen, the High
- 30:06Speaker 4: Tower had that pick.
- 30:07Speaker 9: That's one of my favorite things. It's Tommy Hinzen and
- 30:10Speaker 9: Mike Gorman. They called their first game together. Mike had
- 30:12Speaker 9: all his stack of stuff. Mike Gorman threw it off
- 30:16Speaker 9: the balcony.
- 30:18Speaker 1: You don't know what it was like.
- 30:20Speaker 9: We're gonna watch the game and talk about what we see.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Yeah, Tommy had the stack.
- 30:26Speaker 4: Toperation and Tommy.
- 30:28Speaker 1: Oh when I see like So's four or five?
- 30:33Speaker 8: But if So she's got you know, I mean, it's
- 30:34Speaker 8: just those guys to play by play like and I'm like,
- 30:36Speaker 8: how do you come up with some of these like
- 30:37Speaker 8: stats and stuff. I mean, you have to constantly be talking,
- 30:40Speaker 8: and of course you need things to go to. But yeah,
- 30:42Speaker 8: everybody can watch it their own way and take what
- 30:43Speaker 8: they want, and we talked about.
- 30:45Speaker 5: No, you have to have to do it, just break
- 30:47Speaker 5: down the film.
- 30:47Speaker 4: You have to what do you know?
- 30:49Speaker 7: Nothing?
- 30:49Speaker 5: You don't even look at next gien.
- 30:51Speaker 8: But it's like, for example, like I mean this year,
- 30:53Speaker 8: like I'll just sit down and watch the third downs,
- 30:55Speaker 8: Like that's usually what I do on Mondays is just
- 30:57Speaker 8: the big down and you know, just look again, see
- 30:59Speaker 8: what happened?
- 30:59Speaker 7: What did you this looking? You know, there's so many
- 31:01Speaker 7: different what cold strange do on this play?
- 31:03Speaker 4: Those he gets tied up next week and you don't
- 31:05Speaker 4: have time just to ask, no, down what.
- 31:08Speaker 1: Was strange to me? It doesn't, you know, enhance my
- 31:14Speaker 1: enjoyment of the game at all, to know, oh you
- 31:17Speaker 1: know what the splits were?
- 31:18Speaker 4: You know either, But but I get why it does
- 31:21Speaker 4: for something.
- 31:21Speaker 9: It can be so manipulated though, like you can add
- 31:23Speaker 9: any context you want to a number. You can take
- 31:26Speaker 9: the same shat and argue it both ways of the argument.
- 31:29Speaker 5: So it's which we sometimes needs to do so but
- 31:32Speaker 5: I think that you know, like people like Paul, which
- 31:35Speaker 5: I this is why I like working with Paul is
- 31:37Speaker 5: because like you see the forest right and like you
- 31:40Speaker 5: can see the big picture of because like sometimes I'm
- 31:43Speaker 5: so in the next gen that like my I get
- 31:45Speaker 5: lost about like what's you know, the big picture stuff
- 31:48Speaker 5: and you know that that as to why we hired
- 31:51Speaker 5: them and uh and Barth's the same way, like that's
- 31:53Speaker 5: why we're you know, we have the podcast together is
- 31:55Speaker 5: because Barth is more of like he hates this stuff.
- 31:58Speaker 5: He's like, oh, really he's an old when it comes.
- 32:00Speaker 4: To Oh, I never would have thought that.
- 32:02Speaker 5: Yeah, hates it. Yeah, So I get it.
- 32:06Speaker 4: Sounds like he's really into all the the analytics and
- 32:09Speaker 4: metrics in the college. You know what bugs me about
- 32:11Speaker 4: analytics just as a little tangent that every time HiT's
- 32:15Speaker 4: a fourth down now they have to tell you the
- 32:18Speaker 4: analytics say to go for it. It's like it's going
- 32:21Speaker 4: forward on fourth down or not is not analytics. It's
- 32:24Speaker 4: like what you like, what the coach decides to do.
- 32:26Speaker 1: What's going on in the game at the time, who's
- 32:29Speaker 1: on the field, who's healthy, like all that.
- 32:32Speaker 4: But I think like this stuff that you're breaking down,
- 32:35Speaker 4: like Evan's saying that they're in splits and then that's analytics.
- 32:38Speaker 4: That's actual metric data of how teams play over the
- 32:42Speaker 4: course of a season, whether or not to go for
- 32:44Speaker 4: it on fourth down is a coaching decision. Yeah, Like
- 32:48Speaker 4: I understand that. You you can look at the percentages
- 32:51Speaker 4: of success rate on fourth down, you know, fourth and
- 32:54Speaker 4: three or less or whatever, and then you can make that.
- 32:57Speaker 4: But I just it bugs me the way that the
- 33:00Speaker 4: announcers automatically, well the analytics say to go for it. Oh,
- 33:03Speaker 4: well that guy should be fired right now then, because
- 33:05Speaker 4: to go for.
- 33:06Speaker 1: The one I hate now is when you're down by
- 33:08Speaker 1: two scores and I still don't.
- 33:12Speaker 8: Get that, and they always explain it like and then know,
- 33:14Speaker 8: of course this is the thing to do now, so
- 33:16Speaker 8: you know.
- 33:18Speaker 12: It.
- 33:18Speaker 4: To steal Alex's phrase, they may explain it to you
- 33:23Speaker 4: like this is why you're an ignorant boob and don't
- 33:25Speaker 4: understand it. I get it, I understand it, Like Fred,
- 33:28Speaker 4: I don't agree with it. There's a huge difference there.
- 33:31Speaker 4: But even something night and it worked a perfection.
- 33:34Speaker 5: Yeah, I think like a lot of the thing too.
- 33:36Speaker 5: And so when it comes to analytics, Barth is super
- 33:39Speaker 5: anti win probability, anything that's predicting the future. He's hard
- 33:44Speaker 5: out on. So like that's why he hates Brandon Staley,
- 33:46Speaker 5: right is because Brandon Staley is a go for it
- 33:48Speaker 5: on fourth down kind of guy. So he he he
- 33:51Speaker 5: hates that kind of stuff, but like I try to
- 33:54Speaker 5: do more of like the actual like E p A,
- 33:57Speaker 5: dv A. That type of stuff is not predictive. It's
- 33:59Speaker 5: what's actually happened. It's a stat But with the win
- 34:03Speaker 5: probability stuff, it's like Fred's point, if you don't have
- 34:06Speaker 5: a good play call to go for it on fourth down,
- 34:09Speaker 5: then what difference does it make, Like if you don't
- 34:10Speaker 5: have the right play call, if you don't have the personnel,
- 34:12Speaker 5: if you don't have all these different things like, then
- 34:14Speaker 5: it's not a good decision, even though the mat tells
- 34:17Speaker 5: you that it's a.
- 34:17Speaker 9: Good It's just the fine balance between in the logic, yeah,
- 34:21Speaker 9: logic and intuition, and.
- 34:22Speaker 4: That analytics data is generated off of the amount of
- 34:26Speaker 4: teams that have gone forward on fourth and three or
- 34:28Speaker 4: less and converted. So if you go for a fourth
- 34:32Speaker 4: and two from your opponent's thirty four yard line in
- 34:35Speaker 4: the second quarter and get it, is that the same
- 34:37Speaker 4: as going for fourth and two on your own eleven
- 34:39Speaker 4: up four with a minute left in the game.
- 34:42Speaker 5: Well, some probably like.
- 34:43Speaker 4: Your ability of getting that are not the same.
- 34:45Speaker 5: Some some models do factor in game situations and the
- 34:49Speaker 5: risk involved.
- 34:51Speaker 4: Like it, they'll just put the analyis well fourth and
- 34:53Speaker 4: three or less I should go.
- 34:55Speaker 7: I mean, like, yeah, I love Devon's point. That was
- 34:57Speaker 7: exactly what the one I was going to make was
- 34:59Speaker 7: just like we had to play ca We had to play.
- 35:00Speaker 7: We really liked there, Like you just you can't factor that,
- 35:02Speaker 7: like we didn't have the guy we usually run it too.
- 35:04Speaker 7: You know those kind of things.
- 35:05Speaker 1: I know you can't do it, but it was interesting
- 35:08Speaker 1: experiment to have. You know, one team is signed to
- 35:12Speaker 1: only make decisions based on the stats.
- 35:14Speaker 5: That's that's the Los Angeles Chargers.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Just a cold person I have to do it. You know,
- 35:20Speaker 1: it's just a robot on the sideline, you know coult.
- 35:24Speaker 7: You know, you could dress them up, put him in
- 35:25Speaker 7: a hoodie.
- 35:26Speaker 5: But I do think that that's where analytics gets a
- 35:28Speaker 5: bad name. It's because like there's a difference between DVA
- 35:32Speaker 5: and win probability based off of fourth down decision, right,
- 35:36Speaker 5: Like DVA is a number that's based off of what's
- 35:39Speaker 5: happened in the games, tangibly, what's happened in the games.
- 35:42Speaker 5: It's not predicting the future. Like I get why people
- 35:44Speaker 5: don't like the stuff that predicts the future because you
- 35:47Speaker 5: can never know.
- 35:47Speaker 7: No, I love TV, I miss it. I miss win probability.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Well, what if you have a bad coach?
- 35:52Speaker 4: You know, then doesn't factor that plus Yeah, I mean
- 35:55Speaker 4: everybody knows. Like in that situation, like it's the last
- 35:57Speaker 4: minute of the game, you're up, you need a first
- 35:59Speaker 4: down and game. Yeah, obviously if you get the first down,
- 36:02Speaker 4: the game is over. But it's not like you lose
- 36:05Speaker 4: if you punt and play defense like the Patriots did
- 36:09Speaker 4: last week. Yeah, you know, you don't lose if you
- 36:12Speaker 4: don't get it, if you don't go for it, which
- 36:14Speaker 4: is to Evan's point, that's the win probability. Well, you
- 36:17Speaker 4: decreased your win probability by passing up an opportunity to
- 36:21Speaker 4: go for it on fourth down.
- 36:22Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't understand the I don't understand the go
- 36:25Speaker 5: for two down eight things or whatever that.
- 36:28Speaker 4: Well there's two of them, you know, when you're down fourteen,
- 36:30Speaker 4: So you get it to eight, right, And that's what
- 36:33Speaker 4: Vrabel did last week. And the thought process is that
- 36:37Speaker 4: it's a fifty to fifty two point conversion, so you're
- 36:39Speaker 4: going to get one out of the two, which I
- 36:41Speaker 4: think is highly highly flawed. Yep. I don't think that
- 36:44Speaker 4: every two point conversion gives you a fifty percent chance
- 36:46Speaker 4: of making it. And the other one that I think
- 36:50Speaker 4: is even worse than that is when you get to
- 36:54Speaker 4: within nine and people want to go for two to
- 36:58Speaker 4: make it seven out of eight, which I think leaves
- 37:01Speaker 4: you two scores at least the fourteen one, you've cut
- 37:05Speaker 4: it to one score. You've cut it to eight, so
- 37:07Speaker 4: you're down one score.
- 37:08Speaker 5: Well, it wasn't for you to make it the nine.
- 37:11Speaker 4: Whether you make it or not, you're down eight.
- 37:13Speaker 5: The nine argument is that you're gonna need the two
- 37:15Speaker 5: points eventually anyways, so you're going for it now so
- 37:18Speaker 5: that you have you know what you need in the future.
- 37:21Speaker 4: Again, I get it. I just highly disagree with it.
- 37:25Speaker 1: But Belichick has always said extend the game as long
- 37:27Speaker 1: as you can, you know, so leave that too for
- 37:30Speaker 1: the end instead.
- 37:31Speaker 4: Of like the down fourteen, you get the first touchdown.
- 37:35Speaker 4: You can sell me on that. I don't agree, but
- 37:37Speaker 4: you can sell me on it because to me, just
- 37:40Speaker 4: kick it and if you really want to go for
- 37:41Speaker 4: the win at the end, just go for the win. Yeah,
- 37:44Speaker 4: your chances of getting the two point conversion down one
- 37:47Speaker 4: with two seconds left isn't any different.
- 37:50Speaker 5: Right, But the difference is is that if you wait
- 37:53Speaker 5: to the end of the game to go for two
- 37:55Speaker 5: and you don't get it, it's game over.
- 37:58Speaker 4: Right.
- 37:58Speaker 5: If you go for it earlier in the game, then.
- 38:00Speaker 4: You might don't get it. You said you have to
- 38:02Speaker 4: get it at the end of the game or the
- 38:03Speaker 4: game is over, right, nothing's changed.
- 38:05Speaker 5: Yeah, it is changed because you still have like four
- 38:07Speaker 5: minutes to make up for the fact that you didn't
- 38:09Speaker 5: get it.
- 38:09Speaker 4: No, no, no, no. What I'm saying is you're down fourteen. Yeah,
- 38:12Speaker 4: so you get to within eight like Fabel did the
- 38:14Speaker 4: other night, and his thought is I'd rather go for
- 38:17Speaker 4: two with four minutes left than with thirty seconds left.
- 38:20Speaker 4: Right to me, it doesn't change. You had to get
- 38:23Speaker 4: them anyway. You had to get one of them anyway.
- 38:24Speaker 5: Right, And my but my point is is that what
- 38:26Speaker 5: the what the nerds would tell you is that it's
- 38:29Speaker 5: better to know now that you didn't get it than
- 38:31Speaker 5: to know when the game is over because you can't
- 38:33Speaker 5: make up for it. Like if you have four minutes
- 38:35Speaker 5: and you know that you're down nine points because you
- 38:37Speaker 5: didn't get the two point conversion, then you have time
- 38:40Speaker 5: to potentially.
- 38:41Speaker 4: You've intentionally grossly lessened your chance to win by going
- 38:47Speaker 4: by by doing the nine, not the eight. The eight's
- 38:49Speaker 4: different because that's still one score, right, but the nine.
- 38:51Speaker 4: And like the Cowboys did this a couple of years
- 38:53Speaker 4: ago against the Falcons. Yes, Mike, it was a red
- 38:55Speaker 4: zone that help know that, and he got away with
- 38:58Speaker 4: it because they recovered the on side kick. The on
- 39:01Speaker 4: side kick shouldn't have been a necessity in the game
- 39:04Speaker 4: if you had just kicked an extra point.
- 39:05Speaker 8: It makes me wonder if all this stuff was out
- 39:08Speaker 8: there in twenty sixteen for twenty eight to three, how
- 39:10Speaker 8: like you know what I mean, what they what would
- 39:12Speaker 8: they have been talking about because they only.
- 39:13Speaker 4: Well I'll tell you right now, the analytics would have
- 39:15Speaker 4: killed the first field goal.
- 39:16Speaker 7: Yeah right, well they killed it.
- 39:17Speaker 1: They definitely had the percentage chance to win at that time.
- 39:20Speaker 4: No, but remember it was twenty eight to three and
- 39:23Speaker 4: they drove down and I want to say that they
- 39:26Speaker 4: they kicked a field goal first, or did they get
- 39:29Speaker 4: a touchdown first?
- 39:30Speaker 1: You think I remember they make it twenty eight to ten.
- 39:33Speaker 4: No, I know it was a field It was a
- 39:34Speaker 4: field goal, yea. And they would have killed that field
- 39:36Speaker 4: goal down twenty What did they I mean kicking a
- 39:38Speaker 4: field goal?
- 39:38Speaker 7: I remember the two point to Amondola.
- 39:40Speaker 4: Yeah, they had two tubs they had to get too
- 39:42Speaker 4: shield screams. I think they kicked two field That one
- 39:45Speaker 4: was twenty eight to nine, right, I don't remember.
- 39:47Speaker 5: Yeah, it's twenty eight to nine.
- 39:49Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, and then they got But that's all they
- 39:52Speaker 8: would have been talking about in the booth is like, well,
- 39:53Speaker 8: so they'd be going for it here.
- 39:54Speaker 7: They should have, you know, all.
- 39:55Speaker 5: The Amazon aws on the bottom of the screen when
- 39:59Speaker 5: probably ability Amazon.
- 40:02Speaker 1: Yeah, that would have been a great game to talk
- 40:04Speaker 1: about all that. You know, how do you factor in
- 40:06Speaker 1: the other team making just one bad decision after another
- 40:09Speaker 1: down the stretch.
- 40:10Speaker 7: Right, you know, I know.
- 40:11Speaker 8: It's just it's interesting if it would have affected them
- 40:13Speaker 8: at all, or if they would have just done what
- 40:15Speaker 8: they do anyway, all.
- 40:17Speaker 1: Right, eight five five Pats five hundred is the ace
- 40:19Speaker 1: ticket hotline. Web radio at Patriots dot com is the
- 40:22Speaker 1: email address. Got a hurry, so let's get our listeners involved.
- 40:26Speaker 1: Patty's and agawam. What's up Patty afternoon?
- 40:31Speaker 10: Everyone?
- 40:31Speaker 1: Okay, how are you in a submarine?
- 40:34Speaker 4: What are you doing I'm driving.
- 40:37Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Okay, got.
- 40:39Speaker 13: A couple of quick questions and I'll get up there
- 40:42Speaker 13: because I know you guys got a hurry. My first
- 40:45Speaker 13: one is regarding to Anthony and pretty Jennings. To me,
- 40:47Speaker 13: he's probably, I think this year, has been one of
- 40:50Speaker 13: the top four defensive players along with you Gryl Peppers,
- 40:54Speaker 13: Juwan Bentley, and Christian Barmore. And do you think, regardless
- 40:58Speaker 13: of Wheather builds backer, do you think he's one of
- 41:01Speaker 13: the guys that they should just sort of prioritize signing
- 41:04Speaker 13: after the season is over and second player.
- 41:12Speaker 1: Okay, all right, we're losing Anthony Jennings because he's been
- 41:17Speaker 1: talking to everybody about Anthony.
- 41:18Speaker 5: J Yeah, I'm gonna have something tomorrow on Anthony Jennings.
- 41:21Speaker 5: I think he's, you know, obviously been one of their
- 41:23Speaker 5: better players. I agree with that. I think the biggest thing,
- 41:27Speaker 5: you know, talking to him yesterday in the locker room
- 41:29Speaker 5: was his rookie season. He comes in, it's COVID, so
- 41:32Speaker 5: he has no training camp, no ot as really, and
- 41:35Speaker 5: then they also are trying to work him off the
- 41:37Speaker 5: ball and play inside linebacker. So Drod Mayo owned I
- 41:41Speaker 5: thought yesterday when I asked him about Jennings and just said,
- 41:45Speaker 5: like we had to figure it out as coaches first, Like,
- 41:47Speaker 5: it wasn't anything that Anthony was doing wrong. We just
- 41:50Speaker 5: had him playing the wrong position. And now that he's
- 41:52Speaker 5: playing the position he should be. And I think a
- 41:54Speaker 5: lot of the coaches are not surprised at all as
- 41:57Speaker 5: to how well he's been playing. He just opportunity position,
- 42:01Speaker 5: you know, all those types of things just haven't fallen
- 42:03Speaker 5: his way in the first three years. But a lot
- 42:05Speaker 5: of those guys too, you know, Steve mentioned that, like
- 42:08Speaker 5: they felt like he played good football last year. Also,
- 42:10Speaker 5: it just wasn't as much, you know, in terms of snaps.
- 42:13Speaker 5: So now that we're just kind of noticing him more
- 42:15Speaker 5: because he's been playing more, and they felt like this
- 42:18Speaker 5: is kind of the guy they've had now for two years.
- 42:20Speaker 1: So having said that priority signing.
- 42:24Speaker 4: If they're running this type of defense, then then yeah,
- 42:26Speaker 4: that's a good point. Absolutely, Like, you know.
- 42:29Speaker 5: I think that they're number one in the league and
- 42:31Speaker 5: pretty much every major category against the run, yards per
- 42:34Speaker 5: carry included, and if they're gonna run this type of defense,
- 42:38Speaker 5: I don't think it's a coincidence that Anthony Jennings is
- 42:42Speaker 5: playing a lot more and now all of a sudden,
- 42:44Speaker 5: the best run defense in the NFL. I don't think
- 42:47Speaker 5: that's a coincidence. So if they're running a Belichick set
- 42:49Speaker 5: the edge, sturdy edge setters, you know, then yeah, I
- 42:52Speaker 5: think that that he's a priority.
- 42:54Speaker 1: That he has any upside in the past game as well.
- 42:57Speaker 1: That's the hard part.
- 42:57Speaker 5: I think that that is the hard part. He's statistically
- 43:01Speaker 5: he's near the bottom of the league and a lot
- 43:02Speaker 5: of like pressure metrics, you know.
- 43:04Speaker 1: But is that just because of the situations that he's
- 43:07Speaker 1: been put in.
- 43:07Speaker 5: I wonder I thought about that too, because I think
- 43:11Speaker 5: in a lot of ways they don't want him to
- 43:12Speaker 5: keep the quarterback in the pocket, you know, like they're
- 43:14Speaker 5: trying to get him to set the edge and keep
- 43:16Speaker 5: the quarterback in the pocket and let you know, bar More,
- 43:19Speaker 5: let Uce, let those guys handle pressuring the quarterback. So
- 43:23Speaker 5: I think there's definitely something to be said for that.
- 43:25Speaker 5: And you know, he lines up mostly over the right tackle,
- 43:28Speaker 5: which is Wrighty quarterback arm side for the quarterback, and
- 43:31Speaker 5: I think a lot of it is just keep the
- 43:33Speaker 5: quarterback in the pocket.
- 43:34Speaker 8: Yeah, I think what's interesting for me is just the
- 43:36Speaker 8: kind of the divergent pass that him and josh Ucha
- 43:38Speaker 8: have taken. And I mean, when was the last time he
- 43:39Speaker 8: heard anybody kind of excited about josh Ucca here? Like
- 43:42Speaker 8: this year, I mean it's a contract year for him.
- 43:43Speaker 8: Last year he was kind of getting this I think
- 43:45Speaker 8: moment in.
- 43:46Speaker 1: The sun off without shoot on it there.
- 43:48Speaker 8: Like last year he had this moment in the sun
- 43:49Speaker 8: that I feel like Anthony Jennings is having right now.
- 43:51Speaker 8: Anthony Jennings, you know, just went to the podium on today,
- 43:53Speaker 8: but as a good football player.
- 43:55Speaker 1: And it's and it's so shocking to me.
- 43:57Speaker 8: And I said this to Evan yesterday as we were
- 43:58Speaker 8: talking about off the ball stuff, was like, that's what
- 44:01Speaker 8: he did at Alabama, Like why like most like, why
- 44:03Speaker 8: did you try to move him inside? Like he's not
- 44:05Speaker 8: an inside player like he's always been.
- 44:07Speaker 7: This is what he was.
- 44:08Speaker 5: He's Alabama physical dude, right, Like play in that much
- 44:11Speaker 5: space off the ball.
- 44:12Speaker 7: So I think there's value in it.
- 44:13Speaker 8: But again, it's it's interesting how you kind of play
- 44:16Speaker 8: those two off of each other. And we said it
- 44:17Speaker 8: since they were drafted, if you could combine the two,
- 44:19Speaker 8: you'd probably.
- 44:20Speaker 7: Have, you know, a superstar kind of a player.
- 44:22Speaker 8: But you know what a tough decision to make with
- 44:24Speaker 8: Ouch who brings definitely some value against the pass. It's
- 44:27Speaker 8: a passing league, you know, but Jennings is kind of
- 44:30Speaker 8: a tough tone setting.
- 44:31Speaker 7: You know, you'd love to have him.
- 44:32Speaker 8: As like your third outside linebacker when you're playing a
- 44:34Speaker 8: run heavy team. You've got that in the bag that
- 44:36Speaker 8: you can put him out there and you know he's
- 44:37Speaker 8: going to take care of the edge. But I do
- 44:39Speaker 8: think that just the lack of pass rush production is
- 44:42Speaker 8: a concern and that might scare some other teams off
- 44:44Speaker 8: because you know, he's kind of specialized in that way.
- 44:46Speaker 5: Yeah, I think has had some flashes of what we
- 44:50Speaker 5: saw last year when he's had the opportunities. But when
- 44:53Speaker 5: last year, as much as they weren't a great team
- 44:56Speaker 5: last year either, they did play a lot of games
- 44:58Speaker 5: with leads, and like when you play leads in the
- 45:00Speaker 5: fourth quarter, then that allows pass rushers to tee off
- 45:03Speaker 5: and get after quarterbacks and things like that, and this
- 45:05Speaker 5: year I just feel like they haven't been in that
- 45:07Speaker 5: position very often.
- 45:08Speaker 9: I think also really excuse me benefited from playing alongside
- 45:13Speaker 9: Judon command so much. Where Judon goes down and we're
- 45:17Speaker 9: all like, Okay, what is this pass rush going to do?
- 45:20Speaker 3: What are the what's the linebacker situation going to look like?
- 45:22Speaker 9: In the very first game that Judon was out, Anthony
- 45:25Speaker 9: had a great game and really stepped up and it
- 45:27Speaker 9: was like kind of like his arrival in some way.
- 45:30Speaker 7: Very good point.
- 45:30Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean that's and that affect the whole defense,
- 45:32Speaker 8: and I mean that they're not mentioned. I mean the
- 45:34Speaker 8: thirtieth this year against the pass and the pas. I mean,
- 45:37Speaker 8: you know, it's not like he's a part of this
- 45:39Speaker 8: well rounded defense. I mean, Judon went out, they had
- 45:43Speaker 8: to put a run stopper kind of in there. They've
- 45:45Speaker 8: been better against the run, they've dropped off against the pass.
- 45:47Speaker 8: And that's why, you know, going back to the conversation
- 45:49Speaker 8: earlier this week of letting Judon go, like they got to.
- 45:52Speaker 7: Get pass rushed, they got to get pass rush this offseason.
- 45:55Speaker 1: Spiing Fresno back to the analytics think, he says, Mike
- 45:59Speaker 1: dressing for the role of Eric today.
- 46:00Speaker 7: Yeah, oh absolutely, I got some good news about it.
- 46:03Speaker 1: Anyway.
- 46:03Speaker 8: Oh yeah, yeah, got himself a jobby not quite yet,
- 46:06Speaker 8: but he's in the mix.
- 46:07Speaker 1: He's in the mix anyway.
- 46:10Speaker 4: Oh my god, I took a shot. It's Christmas.
- 46:14Speaker 1: Anyway, to Evan's comment earlier today, I don't understand why
- 46:19Speaker 1: the league doesn't have sensors embedded in the balls, perimeter
- 46:22Speaker 1: for spots, breaking down the plane and all that. They
- 46:25Speaker 1: can afford any tech they want, like cyclops, Hawkeye and tennis.
- 46:28Speaker 1: These seem to like no brain or good ideas if
- 46:31Speaker 1: they're accurate enough. What am I missing in the chain?
- 46:35Speaker 9: Do we know that theyons?
- 46:37Speaker 1: I know they don't use the tech tho, But do
- 46:38Speaker 1: we know that the balls don't have sensors?
- 46:41Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 46:41Speaker 1: I mean they could have, they're just not using I
- 46:43Speaker 1: think they. I mean when you talk about.
- 46:45Speaker 5: The dots fall, when you talk about.
- 46:46Speaker 7: The dots you see, I mean the balls there. I
- 46:48Speaker 7: mean maybe yeah.
- 46:49Speaker 4: The mas to me are even more why they're not
- 46:52Speaker 4: like laser lasers. So it's exactly.
- 46:57Speaker 7: With freaking laser beams.
- 46:58Speaker 5: Where still we still.
- 46:59Speaker 9: Have the little pylon too, Like it would it would
- 47:02Speaker 9: be so easy.
- 47:02Speaker 5: It's twenty in twenty twenty three and we're still spotting
- 47:07Speaker 5: the ball by our eyeballs with the chain game right
- 47:09Speaker 5: with are to see?
- 47:11Speaker 4: But now I don't know, like and I've heard a
- 47:13Speaker 4: lot of stuff about the chip and the ball. I'm
- 47:15Speaker 4: not exactly sure how that works in terms of spotting
- 47:18Speaker 4: the ball, because it's gonna spot where the ball is,
- 47:21Speaker 4: not where the guy went down. So I'm not necessarily
- 47:23Speaker 4: sure you're fixing them because I think the spotting of
- 47:26Speaker 4: the ball is a major problem in the league.
- 47:29Speaker 5: Yeah, I think if you like went back and were
- 47:31Speaker 5: cared enough to see, like how oft like it's probably
- 47:34Speaker 5: like one hundred yards a game that they're like, really.
- 47:36Speaker 4: I think you could make a correction on virtually every play.
- 47:39Speaker 8: And I mean imagine if it was instantaneous too, Like
- 47:41Speaker 8: the computers are just processing where the sensors are. He
- 47:43Speaker 8: guy's got to run, Boom, he's out of bounce boom.
- 47:45Speaker 4: It's but it's not telling you where where the guy,
- 47:49Speaker 4: like the knee in the ball might not be in
- 47:51Speaker 4: the same.
- 47:51Speaker 9: I feel like it Okay, So it would have to
- 47:52Speaker 9: be set up to like a playback system where you
- 47:54Speaker 9: have the play simultaneously. You could pause it right when
- 47:57Speaker 9: the kne goes down and right where that play is
- 47:59Speaker 9: paused computer.
- 48:00Speaker 7: I think a computer could figure.
- 48:01Speaker 5: That at the point, But you're stopping the game to
- 48:03Speaker 5: do it.
- 48:04Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying.
- 48:05Speaker 1: They don't want to slow the game.
- 48:07Speaker 4: Now, all the rest of the stuff, you guys are exactly.
- 48:10Speaker 4: I don't know how you can have a chain that's
- 48:12Speaker 4: ten maybe ten yards right apart, because that's why they stay.
- 48:16Speaker 7: Exactly the chain because.
- 48:19Speaker 1: Arbitrary l from Wisconsin the fourth down thing that annoys
- 48:23Speaker 1: me so much. It annoys me so much too. He said,
- 48:26Speaker 1: it's only based on teams that did go for fourth down,
- 48:29Speaker 1: which is then based on the coaches making a decision
- 48:32Speaker 1: based on the game situation. Reminds me of the old
- 48:35Speaker 1: joke and statistics. One hundred people who had played Russian
- 48:38Speaker 1: Roulette were surveyed and they all survived. Therefore, Russian Roulette
- 48:42Speaker 1: has one hundred percent survival rate.
- 48:44Speaker 7: Oh yeah, that's kind of like the plane thing.
- 48:46Speaker 8: They did the study in World War Two when they
- 48:47Speaker 8: found where the planes had all been shot and they're like,
- 48:50Speaker 8: those are the areas that have to be protected, Like, no,
- 48:52Speaker 8: that's the areas that you can let go because these
- 48:54Speaker 8: are the planes that came back. So right, the areas
- 48:56Speaker 8: that aren't all shot up are the ones that need
- 48:58Speaker 8: to be protected because those are the planes that aren't surviving.
- 49:00Speaker 7: World World War two.
- 49:00Speaker 1: There there we go.
- 49:03Speaker 4: I blacked out.
- 49:05Speaker 1: I get what you're saying. Let's go back to the
- 49:08Speaker 1: A sticket houtline. Nick Baby loves on the phone. What's
- 49:11Speaker 1: up neck? How you doing?
- 49:14Speaker 12: Hey?
- 49:14Speaker 14: It's been a long struggle, Fred, so very simply I
- 49:17Speaker 14: want to talk about Bellow Chicks. But let me just say,
- 49:21Speaker 14: as usual, me and you have been around for a
- 49:24Speaker 14: hundred years at least before everybody. This girl Alex here
- 49:32Speaker 14: is very articulate, an incredible choice.
- 49:35Speaker 7: I just got just started last week, and this is.
- 49:37Speaker 14: Coming from me, and you make me and the guy
- 49:43Speaker 14: Evan had me on the previous show. I just happened
- 49:46Speaker 14: to call in and he's old school, but I mean,
- 49:51Speaker 14: see he's new school, but I'm I'm old school. But
- 49:54Speaker 14: the guy's very good. So two great choices. And you
- 49:58Speaker 14: know I love you, Fred, and you know I care
- 50:01Speaker 14: very much about my man from holy Cross. That's my town, Wooster. Yeah,
- 50:06Speaker 14: and of course Paul is myon. But basically, Fred, I'm
- 50:12Speaker 14: pretty much heartbroken with Tom Curran and all this BS.
- 50:17Speaker 14: I mean, Fred, let me ask you one question. I
- 50:19Speaker 14: know nobody knows this, but don't the Patriots Jonathan to
- 50:25Speaker 14: everybody in the front office. Don't they run it like
- 50:29Speaker 14: the CIA the Patriots office.
- 50:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean nobody knows. Nobody knows, yeah.
- 50:35Speaker 14: Exactly, So why put all this garbage out when? And
- 50:41Speaker 14: by the way, please keep party. That's one of my
- 50:45Speaker 14: best friends, you know what I mean, my very.
- 50:47Speaker 1: Good friend office. As long as he wants to stay,
- 50:49Speaker 1: he's welcome here.
- 50:50Speaker 4: Yeah, we're in trouble in that incredible the morning of
- 50:54Speaker 4: the morning. I don't think we have much of a
- 50:56Speaker 4: shot of keeping him king to make ye.
- 51:00Speaker 14: Well, But anyway, so they just finish up. I don't
- 51:04Speaker 14: want to go crazy or whatever. But as far as Belichick,
- 51:08Speaker 14: isn't there a thing called loyalty? And I think people
- 51:11Speaker 14: don't realize this. Mister Kraft, the most important thing in
- 51:18Speaker 14: his life is what's going on in Israel. So you
- 51:21Speaker 14: know Belichick, I mean, you know, he just be He
- 51:26Speaker 14: just destroyed the stealer season at Pittsburgh. And don't tell
- 51:31Speaker 14: me the players ain't playing for him. No, that just
- 51:33Speaker 14: doesn't have a lot of good players. Yeah, so God
- 51:37Speaker 14: bless y'all. Look at Fred. You know, I love You'll
- 51:40Speaker 14: I'll talk to you off the Paul.
- 51:41Speaker 1: I'll text you too, all right, you know it's funny
- 51:45Speaker 1: because I was, uh, Nick's an old timer, he's been
- 51:48Speaker 1: around for a while.
- 51:49Speaker 4: Passion, yeah, a lot of passions.
- 51:51Speaker 1: And this morning I dropped my car off and I
- 51:54Speaker 1: had somebody from the dealership give me a ride here.
- 51:57Speaker 1: Oh guy, what do you do over there? If you
- 51:59Speaker 1: tell him? So you think they're gonna get rid of Belichick?
- 52:02Speaker 1: And I'm like, yeah, I think this is it. No
- 52:04Speaker 1: way I'll never get rid of him. Are you kidding me?
- 52:08Speaker 1: That'd be crazy?
- 52:09Speaker 4: Why you ask?
- 52:10Speaker 1: You know, so like there is that sentiment out there,
- 52:13Speaker 1: like it's unheard of to even think about it. Yeah,
- 52:16Speaker 1: I get it.
- 52:17Speaker 4: This is why I tell you. And I know you
- 52:19Speaker 4: think it's my straw man, you know, but there are
- 52:23Speaker 4: definitely people I think it's not just that it's not
- 52:25Speaker 4: going to happen, that it's crazy.
- 52:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I heard it even suggest I heard it this morning.
- 52:29Speaker 5: You know, there are a lot of chist there in
- 52:31Speaker 5: the Globe mentioned.
- 52:33Speaker 4: That he had the TV critic thinks that they should
- 52:36Speaker 4: hold on to the head here.
- 52:38Speaker 1: But I was thinking about, you know, I might have
- 52:40Speaker 1: mentioned it yesterday about Bill and like, you know what
- 52:43Speaker 1: might be going through his mind? Like if I was him,
- 52:46Speaker 1: I'd be kind of excited because the world's my oyster
- 52:50Speaker 1: right now. I can do anything I want. If I
- 52:54Speaker 1: tell a network I want to work for you, they'll
- 52:57Speaker 1: be how much do you want? If I tell Mike
- 53:01Speaker 1: Rabel Orbel, I'm sorry that I want to be you know,
- 53:04Speaker 1: how does commissioner of the PLL sound? How much do
- 53:07Speaker 1: you want?
- 53:07Speaker 12: Bill?
- 53:08Speaker 1: If I go to college, I could be coaching at Navy.
- 53:11Speaker 1: I mean, whatever I want to do. They're going to
- 53:14Speaker 1: open the door, and I think that's an exciting place
- 53:16Speaker 1: to be for a human being.
- 53:17Speaker 9: There's all this talk to you about how it's the
- 53:20Speaker 9: craft's firing him, and but like every report I read,
- 53:23Speaker 9: fires never used. There's a myriad of reasons or various reasons.
- 53:28Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 53:29Speaker 3: I just come back to.
- 53:30Speaker 1: Like these guys, it's it's the end of the season.
- 53:36Speaker 1: I think we're going to mutually part ways. How do
- 53:39Speaker 1: you what? I just fired you?
- 53:41Speaker 10: Right?
- 53:42Speaker 5: You didn't. So if you're built you.
- 53:46Speaker 1: Started last week, like what is it like this this
- 53:50Speaker 1: parsing of words, they're going to find a way to mutually.
- 53:53Speaker 4: I thought you were going somewhere where I and I agree.
- 53:55Speaker 9: If you're built through another rebuild or do you want
- 53:58Speaker 9: to go break down Jula's wreck wherever you want.
- 54:00Speaker 1: Okay, what I mean.
- 54:01Speaker 15: I think these guys have worked together over it, kind
- 54:04Speaker 15: of like the Tom Belichick or the Tom Brady sorry
- 54:09Speaker 15: the Belichick Brady right, if they worked together so long,
- 54:11Speaker 15: like it just wasn't working anymore.
- 54:13Speaker 1: They need If Bill Belichick comes out and says, yeah,
- 54:16Speaker 1: you know, it was time for me. I want to
- 54:18Speaker 1: take this other opportunity. That's the best case scenario for
- 54:22Speaker 1: Robert Kraft. That lets him off the total, that lets.
- 54:25Speaker 4: Him But I do think there's an element of I
- 54:27Speaker 4: wonder if Bill really wants to return here. I think
- 54:29Speaker 4: he still wants to coach, but I wonder if he's.
- 54:34Speaker 3: Not nice to him.
- 54:35Speaker 9: I think it's probably a personal and I would don't
- 54:38Speaker 9: blame him.
- 54:39Speaker 1: But then you hear the people say, why would he
- 54:41Speaker 1: ever want to leave. He's got his house in Nantucket,
- 54:43Speaker 1: which is which he can fly.
- 54:46Speaker 4: I was going to say, more money than he could.
- 54:50Speaker 1: That's his daughters down the street at holy Cross.
- 54:54Speaker 3: I'm still here for that's always going to be here though.
- 54:56Speaker 5: It just thinks because like eight and nine last year
- 54:59Speaker 5: wasn't good enough. But it's they were competitive, like they
- 55:02Speaker 5: almost you know, they were one game out of the playoffs,
- 55:04Speaker 5: like to sit through.
- 55:05Speaker 9: A quarterback development again, probably like.
- 55:08Speaker 5: Being three and ten just changes so much because if
- 55:11Speaker 5: he had stumbled here, he probably needs what like two
- 55:14Speaker 5: more years to pass Shulam. If he at least three
- 55:18Speaker 5: years here, maybe No, isn't he like nineteen short?
- 55:21Speaker 4: He's I think he's fifteen short. But like, now, let's
- 55:24Speaker 4: assume that he doesn't win the rest. Yeah, I mean,
- 55:28Speaker 4: let's say he wins two more, so he's thirteen short.
- 55:30Speaker 4: You think he's getting thirteen next year, that's like two
- 55:32Speaker 4: more years, right.
- 55:33Speaker 5: So two more years. But like my point being is
- 55:35Speaker 5: that if they stumbled to Shool his record eight and nine,
- 55:38Speaker 5: nine and eight, eight and nine, nine and eight, Like
- 55:41Speaker 5: I could live with keeping him for that because of
- 55:44Speaker 5: what he's done for the organization. But you can't be
- 55:46Speaker 5: three and ten, you just you can't have a bottom
- 55:49Speaker 5: out that That's where it becomes. That's why his job
- 55:51Speaker 5: is being questioned, is because if they were just a
- 55:55Speaker 5: middling team and he stumbled his way to Shool his record,
- 55:57Speaker 5: and then after he passed shula he stepped down and retiredired, fine,
- 56:01Speaker 5: but you can't be terrible.
- 56:03Speaker 8: That's the thing that just real quick, Fred, like the
- 56:04Speaker 8: point to me, Like I just think he wants like
- 56:06Speaker 8: he is what he wants.
- 56:07Speaker 7: This is what he wants to do. He wants to
- 56:09Speaker 7: coach and control a football team.
- 56:11Speaker 8: And I just I don't really see I think that's
- 56:13Speaker 8: what he that's his dream and he's living it. And
- 56:15Speaker 8: like there's part of me, like you mentioned him coaching
- 56:17Speaker 8: the Navy, like I could still just see him going
- 56:19Speaker 8: to some small school or like I'm not want to.
- 56:21Speaker 7: Say high school, but like not maybe like that's just what.
- 56:23Speaker 4: He wants to do, some high school kid.
- 56:27Speaker 1: But Sharon, Sharon's coach just resigned.
- 56:28Speaker 4: So Bill, come on random?
- 56:30Speaker 7: Really yeah, oh boy, because they watch, they're bumping them up.
- 56:34Speaker 8: Oh we are on watch for sure. He's the starting
- 56:37Speaker 8: quarterback and waiting is a job.
- 56:39Speaker 7: Might be a little tenuears.
- 56:40Speaker 5: Boy, we'll keep that off a different kind of offense.
- 56:43Speaker 4: So like, can you imagine just being like some random
- 56:46Speaker 4: kid playing for a high school and Bill Belichick comes
- 56:49Speaker 4: in and he's like, you know, like i'd be interested
- 56:50Speaker 4: in your job. I just want to coach, that's all.
- 56:53Speaker 1: You just want to football.
- 56:57Speaker 5: Then he can win every game thirteen to ten happy.
- 57:00Speaker 5: I love that for him.
- 57:03Speaker 1: Jace Pettigrew the most friend doesn't want to play in
- 57:06Speaker 1: the world, says loyalty for Bill show Bill as much
- 57:09Speaker 1: loyalty as Bill showed Tom WHOA.
- 57:12Speaker 5: Wait a second, though, because I disagree with that, because
- 57:15Speaker 5: I think there was a lot of loyalty and letting
- 57:17Speaker 5: him walk, I think I think so well.
- 57:19Speaker 4: I think that was a Robert decision. Give Robert a
- 57:22Speaker 4: lot of credit.
- 57:23Speaker 1: Totally.
- 57:23Speaker 4: I totally agree with you on that.
- 57:25Speaker 5: Like there's a lot of loyalty in the fact that
- 57:27Speaker 5: it was, like you have earned the right to make
- 57:30Speaker 5: this decision on your own merit. If you want to stay,
- 57:33Speaker 5: we will obviously love to have you back. If you
- 57:35Speaker 5: want to go, we understand. And he decided to go.
- 57:38Speaker 5: And I'm not like saying that Brady made it like
- 57:40Speaker 5: to say that negatively about Brady, but I look at
- 57:43Speaker 5: this Belichick situation.
- 57:44Speaker 4: And think it might go over and I know, like
- 57:47Speaker 4: you know, and Alex, you just brought up like you
- 57:49Speaker 4: are afraid to look back with regret, and I mean,
- 57:52Speaker 4: there's always risk, there's a chance. And I look at
- 57:56Speaker 4: like the Brady thing and I kind of agree with
- 57:58Speaker 4: the way Evan just put that do. I wish that
- 58:00Speaker 4: Brady finished his career absolutely as a honk, as a
- 58:04Speaker 4: season ticket holder, long before I ever worked here. Yes,
- 58:07Speaker 4: I wish Tom Brady finished his career here, but he
- 58:10Speaker 4: didn't want to and they let him go. It doesn't
- 58:13Speaker 4: bother me more that it unfolded the way it did.
- 58:15Speaker 4: I think that there was a very logical way of
- 58:18Speaker 4: looking at a guy that was approaching his mid forties
- 58:20Speaker 4: who wasn't going to be able to do it forever.
- 58:23Speaker 4: He played three more years. They were kind of right now.
- 58:27Speaker 4: He won a title and that makes you look bad,
- 58:30Speaker 4: and I get it. You have to live with that.
- 58:33Speaker 4: But they knew he wasn't going to be the quarterback
- 58:35Speaker 4: for another ten years, just like I know that Brady
- 58:38Speaker 4: Belichick is not going to coach somebody for another ten years.
- 58:41Speaker 4: It's not going to happen. So he might go somewhere
- 58:43Speaker 4: and have some success. But I got to live with that,
- 58:46Speaker 4: and I got to say, he's not the guy that's
- 58:48Speaker 4: the future of my team.
- 58:49Speaker 1: Jessica and California. There's so much chatter about how Robert
- 58:52Speaker 1: Craft should show some loyalty for all that Bill Belichick
- 58:55Speaker 1: has done for the Patriots. I think we can all
- 58:57Speaker 1: agree we owe him a great deal of gratitude. But
- 59:00Speaker 1: where was Bill's loyalty to Tom Brady for all he
- 59:02Speaker 1: did for the franchise? Robert Kraft should show Bill the
- 59:05Speaker 1: same loyalty that Bill showed Tom, which wasn't much at
- 59:08Speaker 1: the end. As Taylor Swift says about karma, it's coming
- 59:11Speaker 1: back around.
- 59:12Speaker 4: Anybody who's that one.
- 59:15Speaker 5: But like to that email, I can't really like someone
- 59:19Speaker 5: made the other side to me of how Bill didn't
- 59:21Speaker 5: show because he didn't give him the contract that he wanted, Like.
- 59:23Speaker 4: Bill didn't want him. But that's fine, Like, like I said,
- 59:27Speaker 4: you can disagree with it, but they weren't really wrong.
- 59:31Speaker 5: And they also, like I just I pushed back on
- 59:33Speaker 5: the hole that they weren't. Like I feel like the
- 59:35Speaker 5: most like the biggest thing that they could have done
- 59:37Speaker 5: in that situation was give him the choice, and they
- 59:40Speaker 5: that's what they did. Like not being loyal to Brady
- 59:43Speaker 5: would have been to like go scort shirt and like
- 59:45Speaker 5: try to franchise tag him or try to trade him
- 59:48Speaker 5: or like something like that, and they didn't do that.
- 59:50Speaker 4: No, I think Robert stepped in and said, if you
- 59:53Speaker 4: want to go, we're gonna let you go respect, And
- 59:55Speaker 4: I think that's what he should do with Bill. I
- 59:57Speaker 4: think that to me is showing loyalty.
- 1:00:00Speaker 8: And what would it have been like watching Tom Brady
- 1:00:01Speaker 8: on that twenty twenty Patriots team?
- 1:00:03Speaker 7: Like how like? I mean that would almost be like
- 1:00:05Speaker 7: a punishment.
- 1:00:05Speaker 4: I feel like twelve and four.
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: All right, we're gonna take a break. As you can see,

- 1:01:04Speaker 6: Let's listen to what he had to say.
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: Yeah, but how was a week like coming in after
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: which guys.
- 1:01:11Speaker 12: Were able to accomplish in Pittsburgh. Yeah, it was good.
- 1:01:16Speaker 12: It was nice to get, you know, a few days.
- 1:01:18Speaker 10: Off, hang out with the family or hang out with fiance,
- 1:01:21Speaker 10: dogs and everything, watch football.
- 1:01:24Speaker 12: But ready to get back at it, Ready.
- 1:01:26Speaker 10: To get you know, get ready for Sunday for the Chiefs.
- 1:01:28Speaker 11: Liked on what did you like about your performance and
- 1:01:30Speaker 11: what do you think you could work on coming?
- 1:01:33Speaker 12: Yeah, I think we started out fast.
- 1:01:35Speaker 10: We always talked about, you know, starting fast as far
- 1:01:37Speaker 10: as an offense, getting head early. We're able to do
- 1:01:39Speaker 10: that the first half and the second half. There are
- 1:01:42Speaker 10: some things that you know I missed as far as
- 1:01:44Speaker 10: reath and throws, and you know, you look at the interception,
- 1:01:47Speaker 10: that's something that you know, I can prevent very easily
- 1:01:49Speaker 10: just checking it down to Zeke instead of forcing it.
- 1:01:51Speaker 10: So you know, there's always goods and bads, and there's
- 1:01:53Speaker 10: things that I can look back on and hopefully fix
- 1:01:56Speaker 10: this week and then going into the Chiefs game. Good.
- 1:02:02Speaker 12: Yeah, I mean, you know, he's a great teammate.
- 1:02:05Speaker 10: You know, of course I was upset that he's not
- 1:02:06Speaker 10: gonna be here with us anymore, but I was also
- 1:02:08Speaker 10: excited that he was getting an opportunity somewhere else. I
- 1:02:12Speaker 10: believe he signed to the fifty three, So I mean
- 1:02:14Speaker 10: that's a great opportunity for him.
- 1:02:15Speaker 12: And you know, I texted him.
- 1:02:16Speaker 10: I wished him all the best and told him to
- 1:02:19Speaker 10: stay in contact.
- 1:02:20Speaker 12: And you know, he's a great guy. Really good play
- 1:02:22Speaker 12: hud games us.
- 1:02:24Speaker 7: What are his expressing confidence to the college offensiport here
- 1:02:28Speaker 7: that they did production and did a starter here?
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: Happy to con what game he got confidence? Topic Gate three?
- 1:02:34Speaker 12: You do take that?
- 1:02:36Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean, you know, during that time that was
- 1:02:38Speaker 10: hard you know, but at that moment getting cut, you know,
- 1:02:42Speaker 10: you don't know what, you know, what's gonna happen in
- 1:02:44Speaker 10: the next twenty four hours. So it was mainly him
- 1:02:46Speaker 10: just giving me confidence and just talking to him back
- 1:02:48Speaker 10: and forth in the private, you know conversation, you know,
- 1:02:52Speaker 10: just him telling me to get ready to go and
- 1:02:53Speaker 10: you know, anything could happen, and uh, you know, I
- 1:02:56Speaker 10: just try to take it day by day and that
- 1:02:58Speaker 10: from that point on, just you know, trying to get
- 1:03:00Speaker 10: better every day. I know that's a cliche to say,
- 1:03:02Speaker 10: but just trying to get better. Y.
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: How do you feel you've grown since the summer.
- 1:03:07Speaker 10: You know, I think there's some things that I've grown
- 1:03:09Speaker 10: as far as you know, the offensive terminology and the
- 1:03:11Speaker 10: way we run the offense operation. I think there's things
- 1:03:15Speaker 10: that I could still learn from as far as that
- 1:03:17Speaker 10: getting to the ball, making che the right checks, seeing
- 1:03:19Speaker 10: the right you know, coverages, things like that. But you know,
- 1:03:22Speaker 10: there's some things that you know, I felt like I've
- 1:03:26Speaker 10: improved on. But you know, I've talked to b every
- 1:03:28Speaker 10: day on certain things that I need to still get
- 1:03:29Speaker 10: better at.
- 1:03:30Speaker 12: So it's always a learning process every day.
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: Yeah, speaking of coach Kitley, you and Patrick Mahomes have.
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: Him in common, right, Yes?
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: How often?
- 1:03:38Speaker 11: Uh D?
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: Did Patrick Mahomes come up in coaching points for you
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: when you were with them?
- 1:03:44Speaker 12: Yeah? He talked about Pat a lot.
- 1:03:45Speaker 10: I mean Pat's I mean Pat, I mean he's one
- 1:03:47Speaker 10: of the you know, he's probably one of the top
- 1:03:50Speaker 10: quarterbacks in the league. Of course, and you know, A
- 1:03:52Speaker 10: Kitley was able to coach him whenever he was at
- 1:03:55Speaker 10: Texas Tech. So there was always certain things that you know,
- 1:03:58Speaker 10: I would mess up and be like, hey, Pat tried this,
- 1:04:00Speaker 10: let's try that. And so it was awesome to have
- 1:04:03Speaker 10: a you know, for him to coach a guy like
- 1:04:05Speaker 10: that and to be able to kind of pick his
- 1:04:06Speaker 10: brain on what Pat used to do and how Pat
- 1:04:09Speaker 10: learned and what Pat used to like.
- 1:04:10Speaker 12: So it was pretty sweet.
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: Have you picked my Home's brain at all? Have you
- 1:04:14Speaker 4: contacted him at all?
- 1:04:15Speaker 9: No?
- 1:04:15Speaker 10: I actually have haven't been able to you know, actually
- 1:04:18Speaker 10: go back and forth talk football. I think we've met,
- 1:04:21Speaker 10: you know, through social media, but nothing crazy in person.
- 1:04:23Speaker 12: Yet.
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: What's your overall the impression put Homes.
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: As a quarterback.
- 1:04:28Speaker 12: I mean he does a lot of great things, you know, plays.
- 1:04:31Speaker 12: I mean the main thing is the play's never over
- 1:04:32Speaker 12: with him.
- 1:04:34Speaker 10: You know, he could sit in the pocket make throws
- 1:04:35Speaker 10: and then if he's able to get out and start
- 1:04:37Speaker 10: getting scramble mode, he can improve, you know, with the
- 1:04:40Speaker 10: best of 'em. So that's to be a you know,
- 1:04:43Speaker 10: a great task for the defense.
- 1:04:44Speaker 12: I know they're up for it.
- 1:04:45Speaker 10: But you know, he's probably one of the greatest, you know,
- 1:04:48Speaker 10: one of the best quarterbacks in our league right now,
- 1:04:49Speaker 10: and it's you know, it's pretty amazing to watch what
- 1:04:51Speaker 10: he does, you know, every game.
- 1:04:53Speaker 12: What was the extent meant I think he was.
- 1:05:00Speaker 10: I think it was after our bowl game and he
- 1:05:02Speaker 10: just congrats or something like that. I don't think it
- 1:05:04Speaker 10: was anything crazy, right, I think we just followed each other.
- 1:05:07Speaker 10: I don't even think we texted, to be honest with you,
- 1:05:09Speaker 10: I think we just followed. And I was like, hey,
- 1:05:11Speaker 10: Batomall's following me.
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: Where where would you say that your self belief and
- 1:05:16Speaker 4: confidence comes from?
- 1:05:19Speaker 10: You know, I guess that just comes from, you know,
- 1:05:21Speaker 10: just growing up and you know, going to only w
- 1:05:24Speaker 10: you know, I have one offer and just always having
- 1:05:26Speaker 10: a chip on my shoulder and kind of proof to everybody
- 1:05:28Speaker 10: that you know, I'm able to do, be able to
- 1:05:31Speaker 10: play quarterback in this league. You know, I think as
- 1:05:33Speaker 10: far as going into every game, I think it's just
- 1:05:36Speaker 10: far the preparation, the things you do throughout the week
- 1:05:38Speaker 10: that can lead to that confidence going.
- 1:05:40Speaker 12: Into the game.
- 1:05:40Speaker 10: And you know, the coaches, teammates, they helped out a
- 1:05:43Speaker 10: lot as well.
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: They would us some baptist robe your your first years
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: bold and right rebounded as a sophomore and yeah.
- 1:05:51Speaker 12: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:52Speaker 5: Then when you look at the second half film against
- 1:05:55Speaker 5: the Steelers, you know, what, what did you see that
- 1:05:57Speaker 5: maybe they did or you did that there wasn't quite
- 1:06:00Speaker 5: as productive as what you guys are able to do in.
- 1:06:02Speaker 12: The first half. Yeah, I think, you know, it kind
- 1:06:04Speaker 12: of falls on me.
- 1:06:05Speaker 10: I was missing a few throws, I wasn't sitting in
- 1:06:07Speaker 10: the pocket as much as I was, you know on
- 1:06:10Speaker 10: the first half.
- 1:06:11Speaker 12: I was kind of get antsy uh, you know, less
- 1:06:14Speaker 12: things that i'm'a fixed throughout this week.
- 1:06:15Speaker 10: Pocket you know, pocket drills before and after practice and
- 1:06:18Speaker 10: just tryna clean some of those things up. And I
- 1:06:20Speaker 10: mean it's nothing that you know, they're a great defense,
- 1:06:23Speaker 10: but it's things that for us that we can fix
- 1:06:25Speaker 10: moving into this week.
- 1:06:26Speaker 11: You know, your numbers against the blitz Are.
- 1:06:28Speaker 7: In the last couple of weeks, Bill O'Bryan mentioned you
- 1:06:31Speaker 7: let's a lost.
- 1:06:31Speaker 11: Obviously only do what kind of fees are their parents?
- 1:06:35Speaker 10: Right, Let's happy events in part Yeah, I mean, just
- 1:06:39Speaker 10: watching a lot of film, understanding you know, what they
- 1:06:41Speaker 10: like to do. They do a lot of things, So
- 1:06:43Speaker 10: I think a lot of it just comes down to
- 1:06:45Speaker 10: the communication between me and DA and the offensive line.
- 1:06:48Speaker 12: Tryna get on the same page. As long as we're
- 1:06:51Speaker 12: on the same page, you know, everything will hopefully go well.
- 1:06:55Speaker 10: But you just tryna s you know, believe in the
- 1:06:57Speaker 10: offensive line that they're gonna pick up the pressures whatever
- 1:06:59Speaker 10: they bring, and just being able to stand back there
- 1:07:01Speaker 10: confidently and just you know, take care of the football
- 1:07:04Speaker 10: and throw the you know, open guys and let them
- 1:07:06Speaker 10: make plays.
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: Getting Some of your teammates talked about the command you
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: had in the huddle.
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: You know, Ezekils won immediately after the game on Thursday,
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: when you step into the huddle, what do you want
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: my teammates see in want the sense you should come
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: out off the field. Yeah.
- 1:07:23Speaker 10: The biggest thing is, you know, the confidence in the
- 1:07:25Speaker 10: play in itself, you know, walking in there and you know,
- 1:07:27Speaker 10: speaking confidently, you know, speaking fluently of the play, making
- 1:07:31Speaker 10: sure everybody's on the same page. And if everybody else
- 1:07:33Speaker 10: sees that you're confident in the play, they're gonna be
- 1:07:35Speaker 10: confident to play. And if every all eleven guys are
- 1:07:38Speaker 10: confident in that play, then you know it's a high
- 1:07:40Speaker 10: percentage that that play is gonna work. So I think
- 1:07:43Speaker 10: that's the biggest thing for me, just right off the bat,
- 1:07:44Speaker 10: walking in there, understanding what the alerts are, making sure
- 1:07:47Speaker 10: everybody's on the same page, and you know, get into
- 1:07:50Speaker 10: the line, and then restarting the communication as far as
- 1:07:53Speaker 10: you know, Mike points and you know what plays we
- 1:07:55Speaker 10: wanna get to.
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: You're not affected.
- 1:08:00Speaker 12: Have you listened to any since that in preparation for
- 1:08:03Speaker 12: the game? Okay, so.
- 1:08:07Speaker 10: You listen to the whole quote. I mean I said,
- 1:08:09Speaker 10: I'm not not a fan. So I used to be
- 1:08:12Speaker 10: a fan cause I'm a country guy. I listen to
- 1:08:14Speaker 10: country music. She used to be country, so there was
- 1:08:17Speaker 10: times where, of course Taylor Swift country song came on,
- 1:08:19Speaker 10: I listened to it. Now she's moved over to pop.
- 1:08:23Speaker 10: I'm not a pop guy, so you know I'm a fan.
- 1:08:27Speaker 10: I just don't listen to that type of music. So
- 1:08:30Speaker 10: I just cleared that up in there.
- 1:08:32Speaker 12: Those are your criticism.
- 1:08:33Speaker 10: You'd be nervous, No, I'm nervous. It's be pretty exciting
- 1:08:40Speaker 10: to of course ever here. I know she loves, you know,
- 1:08:42Speaker 10: being here at the Latin, So I mean, I'm sure
- 1:08:45Speaker 10: that's exciting for her to come back here.
- 1:08:46Speaker 17: And you got in this moment when Joe Montana during
- 1:08:49Speaker 17: a Super Bowl drive look went into the crowd said
- 1:08:51Speaker 17: that's John Candy.
- 1:08:53Speaker 12: Yeah, wasn't that before? Is like a driver? Yeah?
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: Yeah, So will you be in that situation this Halo
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: Taylor Swift as well.
- 1:09:00Speaker 12: I mean, if the moment comes, I might you never know,
- 1:09:03Speaker 12: did you get any.
- 1:09:05Speaker 7: Kind of negative f from what you said on the
- 1:09:09Speaker 7: radio about Taylor that might have been misconstrued not to
- 1:09:14Speaker 7: my knowledge, Uh, but you want to c yeah, you got.
- 1:09:19Speaker 10: You gotta clear it up because you never know social media.
- 1:09:21Speaker 10: So I'm just making sure everybody understands.
- 1:09:23Speaker 12: I'm I am a fan. Now, you're good. I'm glad
- 1:09:27Speaker 12: you asked I could clear it all up.
- 1:09:29Speaker 10: Are good?
- 1:09:29Speaker 4: You clear it up?
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: We're good.
- 1:09:37Speaker 10: Yeah, I don't know that sons sorry, yes exactly, George straight,
- 1:09:43Speaker 10: yes exactly.
- 1:09:45Speaker 11: And you're a little bit earlier reference to how much
- 1:09:49Speaker 11: has he helped you in terms of your overall growth
- 1:09:52Speaker 11: and development, particularly this year, He's helped a lot.
- 1:09:56Speaker 10: Of course, he's been in the league for I think
- 1:09:58Speaker 10: what nine or ten years now, so he many seeing
- 1:10:00Speaker 10: everything that you could possibly see, as far as fronts,
- 1:10:03Speaker 10: as far as pressures. So there's always things that I
- 1:10:06Speaker 10: go up and ask him, like, hey, where are you
- 1:10:07Speaker 10: looking for? If it's overfront, under front, diamond front, you know,
- 1:10:11Speaker 10: what things are you kind of looking at? And just
- 1:10:13Speaker 10: always picking his brain, always learning kind of the whole
- 1:10:15Speaker 10: aspect of what the defense is trying to do against us.
- 1:10:18Speaker 12: So it's awesome to pick his brain. And I know
- 1:10:20Speaker 12: he's learned from other.
- 1:10:21Speaker 10: Guys as far as you know, Dante, Scarnekia and Tom
- 1:10:24Speaker 10: and all those guys. So there's things that he's learned
- 1:10:27Speaker 10: that I've never, you know, been taught. So just always
- 1:10:29Speaker 10: picking his brain and just kind of seeing how he
- 1:10:31Speaker 10: sees things and just trying to see the whole aspect
- 1:10:33Speaker 10: of what, you know, the defense is trying to do
- 1:10:35Speaker 10: against our offense.
- 1:10:36Speaker 11: I thought it was interesting to buy use the phrase
- 1:10:38Speaker 11: what I'm talking about Matthew Slater that he never wants
- 1:10:41Speaker 11: to let him down. I was wondering if there's any
- 1:10:44Speaker 11: sort of maybe that same healing there with you when
- 1:10:46Speaker 11: it comes to working with a guy like Tea.
- 1:10:47Speaker 12: Yeah, one hundred percent. I mean he's been here for
- 1:10:49Speaker 12: a while, he's won a lot.
- 1:10:50Speaker 10: So for me as a young guy, you know, I
- 1:10:52Speaker 10: want to do everything I can to you know, help
- 1:10:54Speaker 10: the team win as a whole, and you know, not
- 1:10:56Speaker 10: let everybody down. I mean that's my goal, is to
- 1:10:59Speaker 10: do my job and go in there and try to
- 1:11:01Speaker 10: help us win.
- 1:11:01Speaker 5: Games and now great moments in.
- 1:11:09Speaker 7: History.
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: No one was worse than big Head.
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: He was. He was b had also didn't wait till
- 1:11:15Speaker 4: the break right as soon as the food arrived, he
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: would just shut his microphone off, move it away, and
- 1:11:19Speaker 4: start eating. But seriously, yeah, he'd be done before the
- 1:11:22Speaker 4: break started.
- 1:11:24Speaker 18: He'd actually be a good sentence in an argument with
- 1:11:26Speaker 18: Fred and and if the producer would come in with
- 1:11:28Speaker 18: the food, he would stop what he was doing here. Yeah,
- 1:11:33Speaker 18: he would be arguing, you know, passionately about something and
- 1:11:35Speaker 18: it would just like drop everything and tread be like
- 1:11:37Speaker 18: you can't.
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: Even have like the producer go down because you know
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: they'd have the media meal. So you know, just make
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: us a plate. So he'd come back with like maybe
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: six or seven sandwiches, and the moment he put it
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: down to the table, they had like, just just jump
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: on metabolism.
- 1:11:54Speaker 19: Guy, huh.
- 1:11:55Speaker 7: They just always eating, always eating.
- 1:11:57Speaker 4: But he has always eating, but he always hes. Always
- 1:11:59Speaker 4: work out. Yeah sure yeah.
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: If he ever slows down in his workout, he's gonna balloon.
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: The rest of his body will catch up to his head.
- 1:12:07Speaker 4: That's another great moment.
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: Oh, we ready to go back.
- 1:12:23Speaker 4: I was. I didn't want to say anything.
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: I was waiting for the rejoin, but he gave it.
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: He gave it one of these Okay, I don't want
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: to jump in, but I'm just hear the piano music
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: and I thought we were going to go into uh,
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: one of those great moments of our patriots unfiltered. Bridgestone
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: is the official tire of the New England Patriots and
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: proud partner with Sullivan Tired, New England's headquarters for quality
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: Bridgestone tires. Visit sullivantire dot com to find a location
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: near you. Let's see who was Matt framing him. I
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: don't want to be the bad guy, but a message
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: for Nick Belichick might have destroyed the Steeler season, but
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: he also destroyed the Patriots. It's time for a change,
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: and it's time people like Nick to come to terms
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: with it. Matt and framing him. But listen, I get what.
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: We all a lot to Belichick.
- 1:13:12Speaker 10: We do.
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: We owe a lot to build Belichick, and you know,
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: I hope people are respectful. It's hard.
- 1:13:18Speaker 7: It never is gonna.
- 1:13:18Speaker 8: I mean, did anyone ever think, I mean, it'd be
- 1:13:20Speaker 8: magical if it ended perfectly or on good terms with Brady.
- 1:13:23Speaker 7: I mean, you know, it kind of will, but I
- 1:13:25Speaker 7: don't know. I just always kind of expect it to be.
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: Like Alex and Raleigh, North Carolina hasn't received his poster,
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: Matt yep, so get on it. Get on it. Yeah,
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: Samantha wants to know if I wear my Apple Watch
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: upside down. I'm a lefty, so I wear it on
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: the other wrist and that turns the crown upside out.
- 1:13:48Speaker 5: Video.
- 1:13:49Speaker 4: I know, but that would be weird.
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: Like you just that's how you like to look at it.
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: You're like, I just gotta check the time real quick.
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: Another Alex, this is in Mount Holly. To Paul point,
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: I can live with the fact that Tom left and
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: won a title elsewhere, it cemented his legacy as the
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: greatest ever. With that said, if Bill were to leave,
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: I also wouldn't be upset if he won a Super
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: Bowl with a team like the Chargers of Dallas. Once again,
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: it would shut the media up, particularly one Boston radio
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: host that thinks he lost his fastball, and also cubmit
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: his legacy as the greatest coach ever. I know for
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: the Crafts and Patriots fans, that would be hard to stomach,
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: knowing we let two goats walk when they still had
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: one left in the tank. But we all have to
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: accept the reality we live in right now, which is
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: what we won't ever replicate the last twenty five years,
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: and we have to move on and build a future
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: and not live in the past. I also agree with
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: Paul f the analytics and kick the pat.
- 1:14:47Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I mean, just to be clear, I'm
- 1:14:50Speaker 4: not a one hundred percent on that. I like to
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: let the feel of the game sort of dictate. I'm
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: a big fan of going for two for the win
- 1:14:56Speaker 4: at the end of regulation. I know a lot of
- 1:14:58Speaker 4: people will tell you should ever do that, Just play
- 1:15:01Speaker 4: for overtime and you know, extend the game, but I
- 1:15:04Speaker 4: think there were times there's a time and a place
- 1:15:06Speaker 4: to do it.
- 1:15:07Speaker 7: There's been a handful of football games where that's happened.
- 1:15:09Speaker 10: You know.
- 1:15:09Speaker 8: I saw the Holy Cross football game coaching against Jim
- 1:15:12Speaker 8: Harbor when he's at the University of San Diego. But
- 1:15:13Speaker 8: same thing were in overtime and it was one of
- 1:15:15Speaker 8: those situations college overtime where let's.
- 1:15:17Speaker 7: Just go for two.
- 1:15:18Speaker 8: We're gonna win or lose it right here. I mean,
- 1:15:19Speaker 8: you remember those games. It always stands out. It's exciting,
- 1:15:22Speaker 8: and yeah, I think you always appreciate the coach like, yeah, like,
- 1:15:24Speaker 8: let's just figure it out right now.
- 1:15:25Speaker 7: I love it.
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: Wills and Cranston, what's up?
- 1:15:28Speaker 4: Will?
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: Lines are down in Rhode Island. Uh, Eldreds is in
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: North Carolina? What's up?
- 1:15:34Speaker 4: Aldrede?
- 1:15:38Speaker 19: The world's greatest podcast?
- 1:15:40Speaker 7: That's right.
- 1:15:41Speaker 19: It might be those, but it's the greatest too though.
- 1:15:43Speaker 10: That's right.
- 1:15:43Speaker 19: I want everybody else had a band aid, y'all, And
- 1:15:46Speaker 19: I think did should give him much respect that they
- 1:15:49Speaker 19: did Brady, And I'm still gonna say that because I'm
- 1:15:52Speaker 19: a Brady got to But if they gave him what
- 1:15:56Speaker 19: he wanted, that one super Bowl would have been with us,
- 1:16:01Speaker 19: Like I said, when they let him go, but they
- 1:16:03Speaker 19: said Bill thought he was too old back then.
- 1:16:05Speaker 9: That's it.
- 1:16:06Speaker 19: Anybody think that Bill's getting too old? Nobody's saying that.
- 1:16:09Speaker 19: I still think it's the same way now, getting too old.
- 1:16:12Speaker 19: And that's all I have to say.
- 1:16:14Speaker 5: I have a Bill too old.
- 1:16:15Speaker 8: Uh kind of interesting, like what what might happen depending
- 1:16:19Speaker 8: on how this goes with? Uh, you know the Tom
- 1:16:21Speaker 8: Brady sing in June, you know, I mean it's it's
- 1:16:24Speaker 8: hard to imagine the Tom Brady.
- 1:16:25Speaker 7: Event without Bill Belichick. And if this were to end,
- 1:16:27Speaker 7: you know, sourly when he goes to it, you know,
- 1:16:29Speaker 7: like it doesn't feel right to do that night.
- 1:16:32Speaker 4: I think, I think you'd be here, but if but
- 1:16:38Speaker 4: I think he would be here.
- 1:16:39Speaker 7: I do too, just history of the game and his
- 1:16:41Speaker 7: place in it.
- 1:16:42Speaker 4: But and he's generally been pretty good in those situations.
- 1:16:47Speaker 4: You know, on that stage he shows you a little
- 1:16:49Speaker 4: bit more of his personality now that I don't know
- 1:16:53Speaker 4: if that will change because it won't be quite the
- 1:16:56Speaker 4: intimate gathering that the normal Hall of Fame ceremonies are.
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: It's gonna be big, Yeah, Marty and Reno. I tell
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: Paul that the Patriots scored a touchdown Brady to James
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: White to make a twenty eight nine and then missed
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: the pat.
- 1:17:09Speaker 4: Yeah, he was figuring that out in my mind. How
- 1:17:11Speaker 4: they got to sixteen? Yeah, thank you for that. But
- 1:17:15Speaker 4: after that they kicked a field goal? Correct, you don't know,
- 1:17:19Speaker 4: I don't yeah, Paul job eight to seven, two year job. Seeah, yeah,
- 1:17:24Speaker 4: so they must have gone to twenty eight to twelve, right,
- 1:17:29Speaker 4: which is sixteen? Yeah, that field goal. They probably took
- 1:17:33Speaker 4: some there. There's the guy I know constantly. I don't
- 1:17:36Speaker 4: know why you had to mock me the human box score.
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: Stream twenty eight to twelve and that's sixteen.
- 1:17:42Speaker 7: I was eighteen yards?
- 1:17:43Speaker 4: Does that not think? Did I do bad math there?
- 1:17:45Speaker 4: Because that's not my strong suit.
- 1:17:46Speaker 8: Well, that's what you do when you do these things
- 1:17:48Speaker 8: and you're feeling it out and you're like, I think
- 1:17:49Speaker 8: that was like sixteen to eight there, and I'm like, sure, yep, yep, NOI.
- 1:17:53Speaker 4: Yes, you just mock me. You'll like him.
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: You learned it from watching him Jeff in Connecticut. Obviously
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: this isn't likely, but at the end up winning out
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: the season and then with a record of seven and ten,
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: does that complicate the Craft's decision to fire Belichick. I
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: don't think it complicates their decision, but it certainly gives
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: fuel to the people like how could you ever get
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: rid of them?
- 1:18:13Speaker 7: Right?
- 1:18:14Speaker 8: You know, well, thet's still I mean, you can always
- 1:18:15Speaker 8: tack to like, well why did it take so long
- 1:18:17Speaker 8: to go to Zappi? And you know, but I mean
- 1:18:19Speaker 8: I think the hard part is if Zappi really starts
- 1:18:21Speaker 8: to play well and he starts to improve, and you're like, whoa,
- 1:18:24Speaker 8: he's actually showing us something we didn't know he had,
- 1:18:28Speaker 8: you know, I mean, they're like I said, there's flip
- 1:18:29Speaker 8: sides to the coin though, and but just offensively it's
- 1:18:33Speaker 8: been so bad. If they start to play well, and
- 1:18:35Speaker 8: you know, it's like, well maybe Bill could develop a quarterback.
- 1:18:37Speaker 8: You know, those kind of things might come out. I
- 1:18:39Speaker 8: think it's a long shot though, for them to really
- 1:18:42Speaker 8: exact that, I.
- 1:18:42Speaker 4: Would have to see how the game's unfold. Yeah, before
- 1:18:45Speaker 4: I even thought about.
- 1:18:47Speaker 7: But you know what, I'm what I'm what I'm saying,
- 1:18:48Speaker 7: it could be and like not a big chance.
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: But Tyler in Providence this offseason, if you could hire
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: on a new coach and recruit a player from any
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: TV TV, any sports TV show or movie. Who would
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: you bring on? My pick would be Ted Lasso, ad
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: coach in bad Castle from Blue Mountain State as a
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: new leader of the defense. We would just need to
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: keep him away from Paul's shiny shirt and coach Boom.
- 1:19:14Speaker 7: Probably go rech dunlop you can play anybody slop shot, Yeah, okay, Paul.
- 1:19:26Speaker 4: Uh coach Nickerson from all the right moves. I wouldn't
- 1:19:29Speaker 4: pick six two stack monster.
- 1:19:32Speaker 7: What about your your guy from off Friday Night Lights.
- 1:19:34Speaker 4: Yeah, he'd be the ultimate.
- 1:19:37Speaker 7: Like Ted, and that probably surprises people. It's just like
- 1:19:41Speaker 7: it's annoying.
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: I don't know, a little sacchering. I thought it was
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: well done. Yeah, I think I think that's what it was.
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: It's cute.
- 1:19:50Speaker 4: Is that over now?
- 1:19:50Speaker 7: But yeah, oh yeah yeah.
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: I mean he went back to the States and started
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: coaching youth soccer I never saw.
- 1:19:58Speaker 7: I think I'm getting grumpy because I didn't like to vulgar.
- 1:20:00Speaker 7: I didn't really like the bear. I mean, like I
- 1:20:03Speaker 7: was okay with it, but people who either you.
- 1:20:05Speaker 9: Have to work in the trenches of a kitchen or
- 1:20:07Speaker 9: as a waitress.
- 1:20:08Speaker 7: That's the parts I love with it.
- 1:20:09Speaker 8: But then like the first like you know, seven episodes
- 1:20:11Speaker 8: or eight episodes, like why is everyone just yelling at
- 1:20:13Speaker 8: each other?
- 1:20:14Speaker 4: Like this is amazing?
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: No, I love those parts.
- 1:20:18Speaker 8: I mean, we knew, we knew, we knew a lot
- 1:20:20Speaker 8: of a couple of chefs that are totally like that,
- 1:20:22Speaker 8: And those are my favorite parts with him and the
- 1:20:24Speaker 8: girl and you know them them trying to put the
- 1:20:26Speaker 8: restaurant together.
- 1:20:26Speaker 7: But it's like the brother and the mother and everybody
- 1:20:29Speaker 7: yelling at each other constantly. It was just chaotic for me.
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: Jack says, the balls do have sensors, However, it can't
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: be used for the spot because you can't tell if
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: the sensor is in the center of the ball or
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: either tip.
- 1:20:40Speaker 7: You gotta put in the tip, the tip of the.
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: Ball across the line, but the sensor maybe not just in.
- 1:20:44Speaker 7: The tip, No, youat in the middle.
- 1:20:46Speaker 4: So I don't know just the tip.
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: I know if that's true. But he's claiming that the
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: balls do have sensors in the.
- 1:20:52Speaker 4: I think they do, but I don't think that's a
- 1:20:53Speaker 4: way that you can spot the ball. Like just where
- 1:20:56Speaker 4: the ball is isn't necessarily where the spot should be.
- 1:20:58Speaker 8: It's my point, right, there's a lot of variables, but
- 1:21:01Speaker 8: just watching the dots, like the way that the little
- 1:21:03Speaker 8: ball dot works, It's like it feels like it's in
- 1:21:06Speaker 8: a ball, like it just has that kind of trajectory, you.
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: Know, Cameron and Dallas. Hey, Fred forgot to mention this earlier,
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: but over the weekend Byron Munich played in Frankfort and
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: got absolutely destroyed five to one. I only bring this
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: up because you wore the Bayern shirt to the show
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: and Frankfort always loved the show. Keeper the great work. Yeah,
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: that was a funny moment, but they just beat man
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: you yesterday.
- 1:21:27Speaker 7: Yeah, so all right, you did your research. You were
- 1:21:30Speaker 7: trying to, you know, win over the crowd there with
- 1:21:31Speaker 7: your shirt.
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: No I was not, No, no, I was trying to
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: cause controversy. Really. Oh yeah. People, and if you're not
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: like you hate them. It's like the Patriot Patriot like
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: if you're not a Patriot fan, you you know, if
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: you're you're either a Patriot fan or you hate them,
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: doesn't matter, you know. So I wanted to cause a
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: little ball Yeah.
- 1:21:52Speaker 7: My wife liked how you looked in it. Fred, She
- 1:21:53Speaker 7: thought you looked jacked.
- 1:21:56Speaker 4: Which I really don't understand what she was looking at.
- 1:22:01Speaker 7: I gotta see if I can find the exact clote
- 1:22:02Speaker 7: from her. It was I had to text. I started
- 1:22:04Speaker 7: dying laughing in the car, and I'm like, I have
- 1:22:06Speaker 7: to text Paul and fed right now.
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: Chatting Atlanta. I hate to bring up old big head arguments,
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: but I used to be with you, Fred where watching
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: blowout games like the Jets that you knew the Patriots
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: are gonna win were way better than watching close games. However,
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: I do have to admit that watching games these days
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: not knowing the outcome have been a bit more enjoyable,
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: even though I'm expecting a Patriots loss.
- 1:22:32Speaker 4: What say you?
- 1:22:32Speaker 9: No?
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: I when and again, this applies only to the Patriots,
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: but I enjoy Patriots blowing out other teams. Now, that's
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: back when we were good. Now, I just hope that
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: we're competitive, you know, like this is.
- 1:22:48Speaker 4: This is different because you're three and ten, right Like,
- 1:22:50Speaker 4: I don't think anybody would say, well, I'd rather have
- 1:22:52Speaker 4: this because every game I don't know what's gonna happen. No,
- 1:22:55Speaker 4: I'm saying, you know you're good. I used to enjoy
- 1:22:59Speaker 4: I remember and enjoyed the games that were hard that
- 1:23:03Speaker 4: they found a way to win. At the end, Andandy
- 1:23:05Speaker 4: and I would argue with Fred. Fred just wanted to
- 1:23:07Speaker 4: win every game fifty two.
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: To for the Patriots. I want to blow out all.
- 1:23:10Speaker 4: My like I learned more in like the Baltimore playoff
- 1:23:13Speaker 4: game where they win thirty five thirty one. Then I
- 1:23:15Speaker 4: do say the Tim Tebow Broncos game, like give me
- 1:23:19Speaker 4: the give me the Baltimore game. Every time Fred was like, no, no, no, no,
- 1:23:22Speaker 4: I want the to And it's just a difference of opinion.
- 1:23:25Speaker 4: I'm not saying that Fred's wrong. I think there's probably
- 1:23:27Speaker 4: a lot of fans like Fred that, oh no, they
- 1:23:29Speaker 4: blew out Tebow. That was great. Like to me, I'll
- 1:23:32Speaker 4: watch the Baltimore game. That might be a game I'd
- 1:23:34Speaker 4: watched twice.
- 1:23:35Speaker 7: Mike right three times my team.
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: I want him to blow them out all the other games.
- 1:23:41Speaker 4: Them the other night, the Celtics game the other night,
- 1:23:43Speaker 4: that that Cleveland game where they're just no, I'll take
- 1:23:46Speaker 4: that game any day. Like I don't care if I
- 1:23:50Speaker 4: beat the Wizards by fifty eight points, that doesn't tell
- 1:23:53Speaker 4: me anything. They kind of didn't have their fastball at
- 1:23:55Speaker 4: times the other night, and Cleveland was shooting lights out.
- 1:23:58Speaker 4: It was hard and found a way to win the
- 1:24:01Speaker 4: last six minutes and won a tough, hard fought game.
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: I'm with you.
- 1:24:04Speaker 9: Until I have good wins with my blood pressure down
- 1:24:08Speaker 9: the road one day, like I'm with you.
- 1:24:09Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I don't want it to be close because
- 1:24:11Speaker 4: I blew a twenty four point third quarter lead, which
- 1:24:13Speaker 4: is what the Celtics also tend to have in their
- 1:24:16Speaker 4: in their bag, as Evan likes to say. But that
- 1:24:19Speaker 4: game was a good game, you know, kind of start
- 1:24:21Speaker 4: to finish. It was pretty close, and the Celtics out
- 1:24:24Speaker 4: played him down the stretch. I like those over the
- 1:24:27Speaker 4: thirty five point blowouts any day.
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: Ryan from Athol won a contest back in November twenty
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: second says he didn't get his shirt. He wasn't sure
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: just to get or a poster.
- 1:24:40Speaker 4: Whoa, whoa, Yeah, he doesn't even know what he wont
- 1:24:45Speaker 4: I'm going to take Matt's side. I've got the he
- 1:24:47Speaker 4: doesn't know if it was post.
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: Got the email chain here and what a tattletale he
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: got the answer with Steven Gregory and then congrats Ryan
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: Saar's risk.
- 1:24:58Speaker 4: Do we have any trip size? Why was there no
- 1:25:01Speaker 4: trigger questions? Today?
- 1:25:02Speaker 7: They played Zappie Zappi's interview. They didn't do a show
- 1:25:06Speaker 7: within the show.
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: Has that broken down?
- 1:25:08Speaker 3: The show within the show doesn't asked me to do it.
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: In quite a bit.
- 1:25:11Speaker 4: You can't do things that you can't sustain, and I
- 1:25:13Speaker 4: keep telling them unavailable anytime you want.
- 1:25:16Speaker 6: It was a producer call today to play Zappi, not
- 1:25:18Speaker 6: Matisa's fault.
- 1:25:19Speaker 4: I'm gonna blame him anyway. How does that sound? Because
- 1:25:22Speaker 4: you're never wrong and.
- 1:25:23Speaker 5: You could kill me.
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: Let's see Barton Poland. One argument that people make when
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: arguing for Purdy is that the other guys didn't look
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: like him in that offense. While that's true, none of
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: them had CMC on the team. McCaffrey, well, Jimmy g
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: had him for five four games. His stats in those
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: five games twelve hundred and eighty four yards, nine touchdowns,
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: one interception, seventy one percent completion percentage, which for a
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: seventeen game season adds to a pace of huge It's
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: important in this conversation to remind that Purdy is the
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: only nine ers core back to have CMC for the
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: whole of his run.
- 1:26:02Speaker 8: Okay, I think he's a good player. I don't think
- 1:26:05Speaker 8: he's an MVP player. That's I mean, you know, it's
- 1:26:08Speaker 8: like I just want to.
- 1:26:09Speaker 7: I just want to he's a good player.
- 1:26:10Speaker 4: I just want to take the really the really controversial
- 1:26:14Speaker 4: take of the guy playing quarterback that's throwing for three
- 1:26:16Speaker 4: hundred yards every week is actually has something to do
- 1:26:19Speaker 4: with the success. If you want to say that CMC
- 1:26:21Speaker 4: has more, I would agree. If you want to say
- 1:26:24Speaker 4: that Kittle has more, I would agree. Are you, deebo?
- 1:26:27Speaker 4: I think they're all higher on the list of MVP
- 1:26:30Speaker 4: candidates than the quarterback. Is that said, when he doesn't play,
- 1:26:36Speaker 4: it doesn't look like that. Yeah, it doesn't, Okay. I
- 1:26:42Speaker 4: don't care if McCaffrey's in or not. Like Moster was there,
- 1:26:46Speaker 4: Mostard has as many touchdowns as anybody right now for Miami.
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: He played with Garoppolo, right, yep, George and Virginia.
- 1:26:54Speaker 12: Two things.
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: One is that Julian Edelman's podcast Games with Names recently
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: uploaded in new episode with Gronk, and they discussed the
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: twenty fourteen season in the Colts game that year. Must
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: listen if you're a Pats fan, and if you hate
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: the Colts it's even more of a must listen too.
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: I see Mike dance and sing to Evan's song, and
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: I have a theory the rise in Sneaky Negative Deuce
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: is directly attributed to Evan's thievery of his beloved jingle
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: I can see Deuce now it's raining. Deuce has a
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: glass of whiskey looking out the window, singing a slowed
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: down version of his original jingle, with a solitary tear
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: running down his face.
- 1:27:30Speaker 8: I mean, there's nowhere I'd rather be right now than
- 1:27:34Speaker 8: outside in the cold, taking track of who is there.
- 1:27:37Speaker 8: So I am happily willing to give Evan the song.
- 1:27:41Speaker 8: You know, maybe if Jill's listening, we can come up
- 1:27:42Speaker 8: with a new song for me.
- 1:27:43Speaker 7: I did enjoy.
- 1:27:44Speaker 8: I never had a song before, and it was only
- 1:27:46Speaker 8: one season that I had a song, So maybe maybe
- 1:27:48Speaker 8: we can figure something out.
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: The emails of people who didn't get their prices for
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: I won't go I won't go through all of them,
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: but I don't know what's going.
- 1:28:00Speaker 6: This person who has a legit Barton poll and his
- 1:28:02Speaker 6: shirt came back to me ripped up.
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: That's the only person right well. Gavin Brown just rode
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: in and Jacob wrote.
- 1:28:08Speaker 8: In, So people are just piling on now, they're making
- 1:28:11Speaker 8: it up. They're trying to make Matt look bad.
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: But let's see one more email. Then we'll get to picks.
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: Uh Nakodi writes in what do you think is more
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: likely Bill going to the super Bowl in three years
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: staying with the team or going to another team who
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: has a hot seat coach and going to the super
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: Bowl in one year? What's more likely?
- 1:28:30Speaker 8: I mean, I hate to say, it depends on the team.
- 1:28:32Speaker 8: But if he went to Buffalo, I could I could
- 1:28:33Speaker 8: see him going next year if he stuck around and
- 1:28:37Speaker 8: hit a draft out this draft out of the park
- 1:28:38Speaker 8: and got a quarterback, and then I might see this
- 1:28:40Speaker 8: if he went to Carolina, like, I don't see him going,
- 1:28:42Speaker 8: you know, to.
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: The to the I think that one one year with
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: another team is more the right team. I think that'll
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: be likely. All right, Evan.
- 1:28:55Speaker 7: Has returned.
- 1:28:58Speaker 3: Hasturn.
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: Evan is showing up the Aaron hath rectified. You guys
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: have a lot of cloud, we have a lot of
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: sway may have power.
- 1:29:15Speaker 5: This is power.
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: Yesterday because the PR Department changed the format and lo
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: and behold, it's back to the way they like.
- 1:29:24Speaker 5: This is the way we like it because, like I said, yesterday,
- 1:29:27Speaker 5: we have this little this is a numerical order.
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: So who fell on the sword pr.
- 1:29:35Speaker 5: That's a good question. Jess was the one that got
- 1:29:39Speaker 5: confronted about it, Poor Jess. And then that kind of
- 1:29:42Speaker 5: trickled up to Aaron, who I think is you know,
- 1:29:45Speaker 5: sort of in charge of Jess.
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: It's a little lot of sorts these days these days,
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: all right, So what what's going on out there?
- 1:29:53Speaker 5: So a couple of updates from Patriots practice on Thursday. Uh,
- 1:29:58Speaker 5: still no remondro Stevens, which isn't much of a surprise.
- 1:30:02Speaker 5: No Trent Brown today. Trent Brown was missing I ankle
- 1:30:05Speaker 5: and hand injuries. Now on the injury, well it could
- 1:30:09Speaker 5: be a veteran's mate. And then number three in this one,
- 1:30:15Speaker 5: I know, really kills Bill Belichick. Brendan's schooler missing from
- 1:30:21Speaker 5: Patriots practice on Thursday, and we were talking a little
- 1:30:24Speaker 5: bit about Brendon's school er, little grousing Brendan's schooler. Not
- 1:30:31Speaker 5: really a great year for Brandon's schooler. He has four
- 1:30:34Speaker 5: penalties in the kicking game this year. And somebody else,
- 1:30:37Speaker 5: Chris Mason mentioned that he's missed the second most tackles
- 1:30:41Speaker 5: in the league on special teams this year.
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: Plus, I didn't care for his no shirt display in Pittsburgh.
- 1:30:47Speaker 4: Oh, I knew that I would have bet anything that
- 1:30:50Speaker 4: that would have bothered.
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: But do you know why? Do you know why I
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: didn't care for it?
- 1:30:55Speaker 4: Because you are a psychotic No, Because.
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: It wasn't cold enough that one. It's freezing and then
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: you show up, but it wasn't cold enough to do
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: to pull there.
- 1:31:05Speaker 4: You only make fun of other teams playing California.
- 1:31:08Speaker 3: Boy that California.
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: But maybe James Harrison comes out and it's zero degrees
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: without a shirt, I'm scared, you know, when.
- 1:31:15Speaker 4: Brendan's schooler comes out in front of them.
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: When Brendan's schooler comes out and it's forty two degrees,
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: I'm like, you're an idiot.
- 1:31:24Speaker 7: I clip that one.
- 1:31:26Speaker 8: Nobody ever really does it when it's like ninety five
- 1:31:28Speaker 8: degrees in Superhuman right, Like you never go down to Jacksonville,
- 1:31:30Speaker 8: Miami and see warm ups and nobody's got shirt.
- 1:31:33Speaker 5: Tennessee, we were in Tennessee for the preseason game. It
- 1:31:38Speaker 5: was like one hundred and five degrees out and I
- 1:31:40Speaker 5: did see a lot of players shirtless and warm ups
- 1:31:44Speaker 5: in that one, and I was just like, I mean,
- 1:31:46Speaker 5: I don't blame you like it was so it was
- 1:31:48Speaker 5: if I look like them, I never have a shirt on.
- 1:31:50Speaker 7: I'm still a dream. Fred, it's a dream.
- 1:31:53Speaker 5: The shirt people you look like you guys like us.
- 1:31:56Speaker 5: That's literally not genetically possible.
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: You pull the nose shirt and warm up when it's
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: absolutely freezing to show I don't care, you know, not
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: when it's forty two.
- 1:32:09Speaker 7: Somebody did that on my freshman football team. You're like,
- 1:32:11Speaker 7: you're going out with a shirt on.
- 1:32:13Speaker 5: Can't But it just goes to show that how the
- 1:32:16Speaker 5: Patriots are in a bad place. When Brendan School are
- 1:32:18Speaker 5: not covering kicks, well, that's not a great.
- 1:32:21Speaker 17: It's probably why they got the new guy. The Montgomery's
- 1:32:25Speaker 17: out and they got a FA to make sure. All right,
- 1:32:28Speaker 17: we gotta hurry. It's probably not anything.
- 1:32:33Speaker 4: Full slate of games this week.
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: We got a lot of pitch to do. What happened
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: last week.
- 1:32:37Speaker 4: Baul, lot of carnage. Not good.
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: Every every once in a while there's a week that
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: humbles everybody.
- 1:32:46Speaker 4: Yeah, and this was one of the Paul seven and eight,
- 1:32:52Speaker 4: Alex and Fred six and nine, Mike and Evan five
- 1:32:57Speaker 4: and ten. That's overall, that's just winners that week, UH
- 1:33:02Speaker 4: with the spread Paul seven seven and one, Alex six
- 1:33:06Speaker 4: eight and one, Mike and Evan five nine and one,
- 1:33:10Speaker 4: and Fred.
- 1:33:11Speaker 7: Oh, Fred, you're diverting from her four.
- 1:33:13Speaker 4: To ten and one, so Alex maintainser lead. That's why
- 1:33:17Speaker 4: she was here two days this week one thirty one
- 1:33:20Speaker 4: and seventy seven UH, followed by Paul at one, twenty
- 1:33:23Speaker 4: seven and eighty one, still chasing four games. Evan and
- 1:33:28Speaker 4: Fred won twenty three and eighty five and Mike won
- 1:33:32Speaker 4: twenty two and eighty six. Where the real UH experts
- 1:33:37Speaker 4: separate themselves. Paul with the spread one oh five, ninety
- 1:33:41Speaker 4: four and nine. Now the nine pushes knowin let's see
- 1:33:45Speaker 4: who's second. Alex one oh one ninety eight and Noine
- 1:33:50Speaker 4: Evan ninety seven one oh two and Noine, Fred ninety
- 1:33:54Speaker 4: five one oh four and Noine and Mike ninety one
- 1:33:58Speaker 4: one o eight and.
- 1:34:01Speaker 5: Deez, what's going on?
- 1:34:03Speaker 4: Gooint? Are you okay?
- 1:34:04Speaker 7: I'm okay? How do you feel about this indifferent.
- 1:34:09Speaker 4: Full slate including UH tonight in three games on Saturday?
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: Fred, which is crazy because I have things to do
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: on Saturday. I can't be watching two.
- 1:34:18Speaker 7: I gotta go look at lights.
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: I gotta get my last shopping done.
- 1:34:22Speaker 4: You you watch the games in general when you can.
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: Of course I do.
- 1:34:25Speaker 7: Huh how do you think he gets this feel for
- 1:34:27Speaker 7: the league?
- 1:34:29Speaker 4: Four nine?
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: No, if you know, if the Patriots are having a
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: bad season, I'm having a bad season with sim Podoco,
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: and especially when I pick against them and they win.
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: Karma really bites me in the ass when that happens. Karma. Yeah,
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: eight fifteen Prime Video Tonight, the five and eight Chargers
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: are at the five and eight Raiders. What's this guy's stick?
- 1:34:58Speaker 4: Yes? Yeah, uh, our Trey Lances Vegas by three.
- 1:35:05Speaker 7: You like the Bison of the jack Rabbits, Jack Rabbits
- 1:35:08Speaker 7: South Dakota South Street. I will take Las Vegas.
- 1:35:13Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:35:14Speaker 8: I don't really know much about Easton stick other than
- 1:35:16Speaker 8: his name sounds like a hockey stick, and I'll go
- 1:35:18Speaker 8: with I'll go with Vegas.
- 1:35:20Speaker 3: I will also take Vegas both ways at home.
- 1:35:22Speaker 8: And doesn't Easton make bats so that's kind of yeah yeah, yeah,
- 1:35:26Speaker 8: metal aluminum.
- 1:35:27Speaker 4: I think it works better with the hockey stick. Easton stick.
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: Well, they sometimes they call bats stick.
- 1:35:33Speaker 4: You're absolutely right, Twigger on tonight Lacrosse we are we
- 1:35:37Speaker 4: are twigs like that stick is a twig hurry.
- 1:35:42Speaker 5: I'm gonna take the Raiders in this game, take them
- 1:35:45Speaker 5: both ways. I just think backup quarterback chargers quit on
- 1:35:47Speaker 5: their coach over.
- 1:35:49Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the reason why I'm taking the Raiders. No,
- 1:35:51Speaker 4: Keenan Allen, they're you know, starting to scurry. He'll take
- 1:35:56Speaker 4: Vegas like that.
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: I will take the as well. Did you get that
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: part right now? I take the Raiders all right? Now,
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: we go to Saturday one o'clock on the NFL Network.
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: In fact, all these Saturday games are on the NFL Network. Uh,
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: seven and six Vikings are at the seven and six Bengals.
- 1:36:18Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:36:18Speaker 4: I think Evan and I talked about the Saturday slate
- 1:36:20Speaker 4: a little better than I think I gave it credit
- 1:36:22Speaker 4: for yesterday. I think you're right. Cincinnati by three three.
- 1:36:28Speaker 8: You the Minnesotas make another quarterback chambon. Nick Mullins is in.
- 1:36:32Speaker 8: Never quite fits his helmet. For me, it's just a
- 1:36:35Speaker 8: little bit a little bit too big of a head.
- 1:36:36Speaker 4: Another guy who the Niners offense didn't look there, you.
- 1:36:39Speaker 8: Go, Nick Mullins out. I will take Browning and Cincinnati
- 1:36:42Speaker 8: at home. I will lay the points.
- 1:36:46Speaker 3: That's why I don't like it, though, I don't know.
- 1:36:49Speaker 5: I'm going to take the Bengals at home too, and
- 1:36:52Speaker 5: I think they cover.
- 1:36:53Speaker 4: Yeah. I thought that the Browning thing might be a
- 1:36:56Speaker 4: one week wonder that Monday night game, and they did
- 1:37:00Speaker 4: the same thing the next week against Indy. So I
- 1:37:03Speaker 4: will take the Bengals.
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: I'm gonna save my want to pick for later on
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: and I'm gonna have to pick the Bengals of this one.
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: I hate doing that first time, I've done it all season,
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: but I'm so behind that I need to pick some moves.
- 1:37:15Speaker 4: I need to pick right. Here's where he tells you
- 1:37:19Speaker 4: the reason behind.
- 1:37:20Speaker 7: Well, it's not his head, it's that's art. That Art's
- 1:37:22Speaker 7: got him behind.
- 1:37:23Speaker 4: That is part of it.
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: Four point thirty on NFL Networks. Seven and six Steelers,
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: whose season was ruined by Bill Belichick last week against
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: these seven and six Colts.
- 1:37:35Speaker 4: Uh Indy by one and a half.
- 1:37:37Speaker 7: Yeah, it sounds like Mike Tomlin getting.
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: Some oil and.
- 1:37:41Speaker 7: Turned on him a little bit.
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: The whole Steeler thing is, I know.
- 1:37:44Speaker 7: That's why I.
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: Don't know.
- 1:37:47Speaker 8: Indianapolis just seems like they're they're kind of playing hard,
- 1:37:50Speaker 8: They're willing to throw it up there and just trying
- 1:37:52Speaker 8: to make play.
- 1:37:52Speaker 7: So I'm gonna go Indian at home. I'll lay that
- 1:37:54Speaker 7: point for sure, point and a half.
- 1:37:55Speaker 5: Retweet Indie Indy, Yep, I'm going with the the here
- 1:38:00Speaker 5: the Colts are. They're playing some good ball the Colts.
- 1:38:03Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, I'll take Pittsburgh even though I think they stink.
- 1:38:07Speaker 4: I think both teams stink, and I give a lot
- 1:38:10Speaker 4: of credit to Shane Steichen for keeping it together with
- 1:38:13Speaker 4: a backup quarterback and staying reasonably relevant. But I think
- 1:38:16Speaker 4: this is one of those games that they quote supposed
- 1:38:19Speaker 4: to win and Pittsburgh they won't. Yeah, Pittsburgh people, everybody's
- 1:38:23Speaker 4: written them off. I think this is a game that
- 1:38:25Speaker 4: they find a way.
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: I think Pittsburgh bounces back after this game. I think
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: they almost bounce back in that last game. But I
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: think they're pissed off things. Like I mentioned Ben Roethlisberger
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: saying this whole Steeler culture is gone.
- 1:38:41Speaker 7: Oh god, Well yeah, from Ben Roethlisberger's point of view,
- 1:38:45Speaker 7: that's probably a good thing, right.
- 1:38:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: So I'm going to take the Steelers in this game
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: eight point fifteen. The only way they could get Denver
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: out of Denver is put it on Saturday.
- 1:38:57Speaker 4: There you go.
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: So he's seven and six, Broncos are at the nine
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: and four Lions.
- 1:39:02Speaker 4: The suddenly reeling Lions by four.
- 1:39:05Speaker 7: That's an interesting one. But I'm gonna go with Detroit
- 1:39:09Speaker 7: at home. What website?
- 1:39:11Speaker 4: What was the four four?
- 1:39:14Speaker 7: I'm gonna take the points though for Denver. I think
- 1:39:16Speaker 7: it'll be close, but I think Detroit pulls it out.
- 1:39:19Speaker 9: Yeah, I think it's a get right game for Detroit,
- 1:39:21Speaker 9: but I think the Broncos cover too.
- 1:39:26Speaker 5: I like the Lions both ways in this game, but
- 1:39:29Speaker 5: Jared Goff has not been playing good football for a
- 1:39:32Speaker 5: lot a while now, and I think that's really where
- 1:39:34Speaker 5: it's holding the Lions back. Is he turned the ball
- 1:39:36Speaker 5: over a lot. Has it given you any pause on
- 1:39:38Speaker 5: my boy Ben Johnson a little bit? Because but I
- 1:39:42Speaker 5: want to see how he gets him out of it. Like,
- 1:39:44Speaker 5: if he can get him out of it, then then that's.
- 1:39:46Speaker 4: I agree that offense has looked very average for about
- 1:39:49Speaker 4: a month.
- 1:39:49Speaker 5: He's been turned over the ball like crazy.
- 1:39:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I will take Detroit both ways as well, but yeah,
- 1:39:54Speaker 4: definitely they're not playing well.
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: I'm going to fork this game. I'm gonna have the
- 1:39:58Speaker 1: Lions winning, but not covering.
- 1:40:01Speaker 7: Fork.
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: Who Oh, it's like you in a road, you come
- 1:40:04Speaker 1: to a fork in the road. Okay, say okay, I'm
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: gonna go with the wind for it.
- 1:40:07Speaker 7: I'll sue you fork everybody.
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: All right, Now, we're on to Sunday when football should
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: be played. One o'clock on Fox, the six and seven
- 1:40:17Speaker 1: Falcons are at the one and twelve Panthers.
- 1:40:22Speaker 4: Atlanta by three.
- 1:40:23Speaker 5: Who is watching this?
- 1:40:25Speaker 4: Three? Uh?
- 1:40:27Speaker 7: Unfortunately.
- 1:40:27Speaker 8: I wish I could pick Carolina to try to make
- 1:40:29Speaker 8: things interesting for that first overall pick.
- 1:40:31Speaker 7: I just don't think it happens. I'm going to take
- 1:40:32Speaker 7: Atlanta'll lay the points.
- 1:40:34Speaker 9: Yeah, Falcons Falcons.
- 1:40:37Speaker 5: I like the Falcons both ways. As what the Falcons
- 1:40:40Speaker 5: have been at least competitive in every single game. Just
- 1:40:43Speaker 5: looking back at their schedule, they haven't really lost a
- 1:40:45Speaker 5: game by by much at all all year long. So
- 1:40:48Speaker 5: I'm going to take the Falcons.
- 1:40:49Speaker 4: Yeah, me too. Just Bryce Young just not ready.
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna take the Falcons as well. One o'clock Fox,
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: five and eight Bears are at the eight and five
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: Browns Cleveland by three.
- 1:41:03Speaker 8: Ooh, it feels like a nineteen forties game anytime these
- 1:41:06Speaker 8: two teams meet. I'm gonna take Cleveland a little.
- 1:41:09Speaker 4: The Chicago Cardinals against the Cleveland.
- 1:41:13Speaker 7: Would you take Cleveland? I lay the points please.
- 1:41:17Speaker 4: Flacco again Flacco for the rest of the way. According
- 1:41:20Speaker 4: to Stefanski, Yeah, why not Cleveland.
- 1:41:26Speaker 5: I'm gonna take the Bears in this game, upset. I
- 1:41:28Speaker 5: think the Bears have really been playing well, going back
- 1:41:31Speaker 5: to that first Lions game that they should have won
- 1:41:33Speaker 5: and they lost laid So they've really been playing well
- 1:41:35Speaker 5: for like three or four weeks now, and I like
- 1:41:37Speaker 5: the Bears.
- 1:41:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I agree about the Bears, but I just I
- 1:41:42Speaker 4: do not bet against that Browns defense at home, and
- 1:41:44Speaker 4: I will take Cleveland again.
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: That's exactly why I'm picking Cleveland as well. One o'clock
- 1:41:49Speaker 1: on CBS, these six and seven Buccaneers are at these
- 1:41:53Speaker 1: six and seven Packers.
- 1:41:55Speaker 4: Green Bay by three and a half.
- 1:41:58Speaker 8: Quick question, what do you think it's better for the
- 1:42:00Speaker 8: Patriots if the if the Bears are like first overall
- 1:42:03Speaker 8: and third or like first overall and sixth, You know, like,
- 1:42:07Speaker 8: is it is it better if that second pick is
- 1:42:09Speaker 8: lower to higher?
- 1:42:09Speaker 7: Does it matter? If the thought I had?
- 1:42:11Speaker 5: What do you think I think that they want to
- 1:42:13Speaker 5: come away from this draft with Marvin Harrison Jr. Whether
- 1:42:17Speaker 5: it's with a new quarterback or it's with Justin Fields,
- 1:42:19Speaker 5: he's the guy. So I would say that probably them
- 1:42:22Speaker 5: picking one in three. If you if you're thinking the
- 1:42:24Speaker 5: Patriots are going to take the quarterback, it's probably a
- 1:42:27Speaker 5: little bit better because they probably wouldn't want to trade
- 1:42:29Speaker 5: out in like risk losing. I don't know.
- 1:42:33Speaker 7: Sorry for the side I will shoot. I'm gonna take
- 1:42:36Speaker 7: Tampa on the road at Green Base been hard to
- 1:42:38Speaker 7: get a beat on. They're good, they're not. I'm gonna
- 1:42:41Speaker 7: take Tampa with the upset, though, I will please receive
- 1:42:43Speaker 7: the points. That is that A receive the points receive.
- 1:42:47Speaker 3: I am going to take the Packers both ways, I guess.
- 1:42:53Speaker 3: I guess a couple of these.
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: I guess.
- 1:42:58Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:42:59Speaker 7: Store Dark at it your smack.
- 1:43:03Speaker 4: I'm not talking.
- 1:43:05Speaker 7: Kneel before the queen.
- 1:43:07Speaker 5: Anyways. I like the Packers in this game, even though
- 1:43:11Speaker 5: they lost last week. I thought Jordan Love played well
- 1:43:13Speaker 5: in that game against the Giants, and I think that
- 1:43:16Speaker 5: they're they're still feisty. So I like the Packers.
- 1:43:19Speaker 4: So I was I'm going to take Green Bay too,
- 1:43:21Speaker 4: but I was laughing. There was a lot of wind
- 1:43:23Speaker 4: I guess it met life last week and it was
- 1:43:25Speaker 4: affecting and and Aikman was talking about it a little bit,
- 1:43:28Speaker 4: and I'm thinking to myself, oh yeah, that that shouldn't
- 1:43:30Speaker 4: be a problem at all for Jordan Love, who plays
- 1:43:32Speaker 4: his home games at Lambeaus. No, no, no, uh no
- 1:43:35Speaker 4: concerns about the elements there. But I agree with Evan.
- 1:43:38Speaker 4: I just think that Green Bay is better. And I
- 1:43:39Speaker 4: think Jordan Love has played reasonably well. And I thought,
- 1:43:43Speaker 4: you know, and on a night where they didn't have
- 1:43:45Speaker 4: any offense, really no consistency, he put together a drive
- 1:43:49Speaker 4: when he needed to have made a couple of big
- 1:43:51Speaker 4: throws in the in the end zone. So I'll take
- 1:43:54Speaker 4: the pack.
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: I will take the pack as well. One o'clock CBS,
- 1:43:59Speaker 1: the five innutche five and eight Jets are at the
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: nine and four Dolphins.
- 1:44:04Speaker 4: Miami by eight and a half.
- 1:44:06Speaker 7: Oh, that's falling hard. That's a good number.
- 1:44:11Speaker 5: Treating the half really all their injuries, that's a big number.
- 1:44:15Speaker 4: That's why it's down there. I think it was double digits.
- 1:44:18Speaker 7: I can't do it with the Jets. I'm gonna take
- 1:44:19Speaker 7: Miami to win.
- 1:44:20Speaker 8: But I think if I don't know what Tyreek's situation
- 1:44:22Speaker 8: is immediately, but if he's limited, they've been different.
- 1:44:25Speaker 7: I will take the points for the Jets, but I
- 1:44:27Speaker 7: will take Miami to win.
- 1:44:29Speaker 3: I'm gonna split it the same way how Mike just did.
- 1:44:31Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm surprised even still, it's a big number. I mean,
- 1:44:35Speaker 5: the Dolphins are three fists of their offensive line is out,
- 1:44:38Speaker 5: Tyreek kill is out or all five of them out
- 1:44:42Speaker 5: or on the injury report or something.
- 1:44:43Speaker 4: They're either on IR or on the injury Yeah.
- 1:44:46Speaker 5: Yeah, and uh, you know obviously they they lose Phillips
- 1:44:49Speaker 5: a couple of weeks ago, like their their injuries are
- 1:44:51Speaker 5: a legit problem. So I'm gonna take the Dolphins to win.
- 1:44:54Speaker 5: But I think the Jets keep this game close.
- 1:44:56Speaker 4: Yeah, me too. Too many injuries, it's Phillips, Holland Baker,
- 1:45:03Speaker 4: the whole line, Tyreek. I think they'll win the game
- 1:45:07Speaker 4: because I don't think the Jets are good enough to
- 1:45:10Speaker 4: duplicate that offense that they did last week. But I'll
- 1:45:12Speaker 4: take the points.
- 1:45:13Speaker 1: This is one where the Sharps either know something too
- 1:45:17Speaker 1: or they just flat out got it wrong. But I'm
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: going with the Jets outright. The Jets pull off the
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: upset Dolphins are reeling. I think I think the Jets
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: do it.
- 1:45:30Speaker 5: If the Dolphins like go belly up again, and this
- 1:45:33Speaker 5: is like Mike McDaniel like starts hot every single year
- 1:45:38Speaker 5: and then they flame out every single like that had.
- 1:45:40Speaker 4: Been, I'd say this would be way worse than last
- 1:45:42Speaker 4: year because last year was because two got hurt. This year,
- 1:45:44Speaker 4: if it plays, they should not be losing the number
- 1:45:47Speaker 4: one seed. They should not lose to Tennessee at home,
- 1:45:49Speaker 4: and they should not lose to the Jets at home
- 1:45:51Speaker 4: with a play.
- 1:45:52Speaker 1: I just think about that Sunday. So you got me
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: for the Jets both, I do right Sunday.
- 1:45:57Speaker 4: At one, I thought you were picking straight this week,
- 1:45:59Speaker 4: but the five.
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: And eight Giants are at the six and seventy.
- 1:46:04Speaker 4: He just got it at uh. This spread I thought
- 1:46:09Speaker 4: was strange. New Orleans by five and a half.
- 1:46:12Speaker 5: Vegas loves New Orleans really, Yeah, what do you feel?
- 1:46:15Speaker 10: What that is?
- 1:46:16Speaker 5: I feel I don't know, they just I feel like
- 1:46:17Speaker 5: they're always.
- 1:46:19Speaker 4: So you guys, that's a kind of an odd spread,
- 1:46:23Speaker 4: layer of played. I think the Giants have won three
- 1:46:25Speaker 4: in a row.
- 1:46:26Speaker 7: Yeah, it's it's weird. I'm gonna take New Orleans though
- 1:46:28Speaker 7: at home, but I will take the points for the
- 1:46:29Speaker 7: Giants to keep it close.
- 1:46:31Speaker 9: Yeah, I think the Vito's win streak comes to an end,
- 1:46:34Speaker 9: but I don't know.
- 1:46:35Speaker 3: They're kind of pesky. I think they cover.
- 1:46:38Speaker 5: My favorite clip of the week is a New York
- 1:46:40Speaker 5: reporter asking Brian Dable if Tommy DeVito's first four games
- 1:46:44Speaker 5: or anything like Tom Brady's first four games, and Brian
- 1:46:48Speaker 5: Dable just interrupting him mid question, being like, please stop, please,
- 1:46:53Speaker 5: please stop. I agree. I think that Tommy DeVito comes
- 1:46:55Speaker 5: back down to earth in the Saints win this game,
- 1:46:58Speaker 5: but I think the Giants cover the spreading.
- 1:47:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm going to take the Giants both ways, and
- 1:47:04Speaker 4: it's because I think the Giants defense has played much
- 1:47:07Speaker 4: better over the last month or so. Like Tommy, No,
- 1:47:09Speaker 4: I don't, I don't. I kind of and his agent,
- 1:47:13Speaker 4: I really, I really don't.
- 1:47:16Speaker 1: Rarely does agent have an agent? Is his agent?
- 1:47:19Speaker 4: Yeah? I don't really like him, you know, Sean into
- 1:47:22Speaker 4: the agent. I think the Giants defense has played well
- 1:47:25Speaker 4: and the Saints offense has been miserable, So I think
- 1:47:28Speaker 4: it's a low scoring game that that fits right into
- 1:47:30Speaker 4: the way the Giants want to play. And they find
- 1:47:32Speaker 4: a way to win.
- 1:47:33Speaker 1: This is where the Sharps know something. Saints both ways okay?
- 1:47:37Speaker 1: Uh Sunday at one, seven and six Texans are at
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: the five and eight.
- 1:47:41Speaker 4: Titans Tennessee by three. So another spread that I thought
- 1:47:46Speaker 4: was very odd.
- 1:47:48Speaker 1: Recncy biased for the Titans for you.
- 1:47:51Speaker 4: And I believe, I think the Titans think.
- 1:47:54Speaker 7: I think Stroud is Stroud.
- 1:47:58Speaker 4: I did not know that he's not playing.
- 1:48:00Speaker 5: He's in can catch and protocolog in the protocol. Pretty
- 1:48:02Speaker 5: good chance he doesn't play.
- 1:48:04Speaker 4: But that explains the spread though.
- 1:48:06Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna go with my guy Vrabel
- 1:48:08Speaker 7: and uh yeah, we'll leave I's are you point?
- 1:48:11Speaker 4: Are you like mad that that they want they won
- 1:48:14Speaker 4: one to find finally the week that you didn't pick.
- 1:48:16Speaker 7: Oh, I know that's how it works, Paul.
- 1:48:19Speaker 4: He loves Mike. It's unbelievable.
- 1:48:21Speaker 7: No, I love Derek. Yeah, and we'll leaves of your heroes.
- 1:48:27Speaker 4: Will Levi, I's played really well the other night.
- 1:48:29Speaker 20: I'm gonna take the Titans both ways, poor Will, like
- 1:48:36Speaker 20: you guys have messed up saying his last name his
- 1:48:39Speaker 20: ex girlfriend her poor Instagram called blown up by his
- 1:48:43Speaker 20: stats every week because they broke.
- 1:48:45Speaker 7: Up recently, so they're just she had a golden ticket.
- 1:48:48Speaker 3: They're trying to rub it in her face.
- 1:48:50Speaker 4: Just people are so you.
- 1:48:51Speaker 1: Should start a website NFL girlfriends dot com.
- 1:48:57Speaker 7: Think of the NFL wags Wags. NFL Wags Wags.
- 1:49:00Speaker 3: That's technically the term wag Central.
- 1:49:03Speaker 5: Who are you picking?
- 1:49:04Speaker 4: I did pick Tennessee.
- 1:49:06Speaker 5: I'm gonna take Tennessee as well. Although I don't like
- 1:49:08Speaker 5: Will Levis, like calm down.
- 1:49:10Speaker 4: But other than that, I didn't care for his comportment
- 1:49:13Speaker 4: during the game.
- 1:49:14Speaker 5: He played well like I get it your meat head cool.
- 1:49:17Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna take Houston because I think Tennessee stinks.
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: I'm going to take Houston as well. Uh Sunday at one?
- 1:49:23Speaker 4: Why do you get mad?
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: Because I want it to be different than you. I
- 1:49:27Speaker 1: hate Uh Sunday at one on Fox eight and five.
- 1:49:32Speaker 7: Oh, you gotta skip over it.
- 1:49:35Speaker 1: We got to skip over that. Sorry to let the
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: cat out of the bag. There four or five. The
- 1:49:40Speaker 1: ten and three forty nine Ers are at the three
- 1:49:43Speaker 1: and ten Cardinalsniners by twelve and a half twelve?
- 1:49:47Speaker 5: Does anybody own anybody in this matchup? I'm assuming the Niners.
- 1:49:50Speaker 4: I believe the Niners own that division.
- 1:49:52Speaker 7: Yeah, I love that question. That's become a thing.
- 1:49:54Speaker 4: That is the NFC West is a thing.
- 1:49:56Speaker 5: They have owners.
- 1:49:57Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm gonna get a little c here. I'm gonna
- 1:50:00Speaker 7: take San Francisco to win.
- 1:50:01Speaker 8: That's a lot of points though, and maybe Kyler Murray
- 1:50:03Speaker 8: does some some cool stuff, so I gotta make some
- 1:50:05Speaker 8: moves here.
- 1:50:05Speaker 7: Get out of the basement. I'll take the points for Arizona.
- 1:50:09Speaker 9: I'm gonna take the Francisco both ways.
- 1:50:12Speaker 5: I'm gonna take San Francisco, but I'm also gonna take
- 1:50:16Speaker 5: the Cardinals to cover the points because Brock Party stinks.
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: It's like a hate pick.
- 1:50:22Speaker 4: Strew you.
- 1:50:24Speaker 1: I will take the Niners both ways, as I Niners
- 1:50:28Speaker 1: both ways. Four oh five CBS four to nine. Commanders
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: are at the six and seven Rams.
- 1:50:35Speaker 4: Lar by six and a half, the tough one.
- 1:50:39Speaker 7: Uh dam, I'm gonna take the Lar at home. I
- 1:50:42Speaker 7: just I think Washington's fading. I'll lay the points.
- 1:50:46Speaker 3: I'll take the law too.
- 1:50:48Speaker 5: I'm also gonna take the Rams both ways. Matthew Stafford
- 1:50:52Speaker 5: playing some really good football lately. It looks like the
- 1:50:54Speaker 5: old Matthew Stafford. I think they're coming on a little bit.
- 1:50:58Speaker 1: You mean he can't make the play.
- 1:51:00Speaker 4: Almost it's almost like it's not a bad team win.
- 1:51:01Speaker 4: It's not in quarterback is helping. Did you see how
- 1:51:03Speaker 4: that works? You see Cooper cup discussed ridiculous. I'll take
- 1:51:07Speaker 4: the Lar both ways as well.
- 1:51:08Speaker 1: I'm gonna take the Rams both ways.
- 1:51:11Speaker 7: Uh.
- 1:51:11Speaker 1: Next one potentially could be a great one for twenty
- 1:51:14Speaker 1: five on Fox. The ten and three Cowboys are at
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: the seven and six Bills.
- 1:51:18Speaker 4: So the eleventh seed in the AFC is favored over
- 1:51:21Speaker 4: the number two seed in the NFC by too.
- 1:51:24Speaker 7: That's a good way to put it. By two.
- 1:51:28Speaker 4: Uh, that's one of those Felger fasts. N't really tell
- 1:51:33Speaker 4: any of the.
- 1:51:35Speaker 7: I'm taking Dallas.
- 1:51:37Speaker 3: I love dak I'm taking Dallas too. I can't believe that.
- 1:51:42Speaker 9: Buffalo is favored, but I guess big one over Kansas
- 1:51:45Speaker 9: City will do it.
- 1:51:48Speaker 5: I'm gonna take the Bills. I think the Cowboys are
- 1:51:51Speaker 5: a different team at home than they are in the road.
- 1:51:54Speaker 5: I think this is an outdoor game. I know everybody
- 1:51:56Speaker 5: thinks I'm a Bills fan, so I'm just gonna I'm
- 1:51:59Speaker 5: just gonna lean into it. If I was in the
- 1:52:01Speaker 5: AFC playoff, Hunt I'd be worried that the Bills catch fire.
- 1:52:04Speaker 4: If I were every other team in the AFC would
- 1:52:07Speaker 4: be rooting heavily for the Cowboys in this game.
- 1:52:09Speaker 5: Because if the Bills make the playoffs and he gets hot,
- 1:52:13Speaker 5: and if they make out, if I have Buffalo two,
- 1:52:15Speaker 5: I'm taking If they do make the playoffs, that means
- 1:52:18Speaker 5: that he got hot, yep, and they're rolling into the playoffs.
- 1:52:21Speaker 4: So he could probably afford to maybe lose one of
- 1:52:23Speaker 4: these last four. They play Dallas, they play Miami. If
- 1:52:27Speaker 4: they win three out of four and get to ten wins,
- 1:52:29Speaker 4: they might be in. But I agree with Evan like
- 1:52:34Speaker 4: I would not want to see them if I were
- 1:52:35Speaker 4: anybody else in the AFC, because he's got the ability
- 1:52:38Speaker 4: to just be the best player on the field any
- 1:52:40Speaker 4: given day, and he knows it. He can just do that.
- 1:52:43Speaker 5: He can just mic drive it and then you're out.
- 1:52:45Speaker 4: And I think Dallas had a huge emotional win last week,
- 1:52:47Speaker 4: and you know what I think of Dallas, And that's
- 1:52:50Speaker 4: kind of a situation.
- 1:52:51Speaker 1: Normally I would be all over the Bills in this one.
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: But if Dak Prescott is playing the way people say
- 1:52:56Speaker 1: he is and is truly an MVP, can I ended
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: it this year. He needs to prove it right here.
- 1:53:03Speaker 1: So I'm gonna go with the Cowboys to win this game.
- 1:53:06Speaker 1: Eight twenty on envery sure. The ten and three Ravens
- 1:53:10Speaker 1: are at the eight and five Jaguars.
- 1:53:14Speaker 4: Ravens by three.
- 1:53:16Speaker 7: It's a good game for Sunday night.
- 1:53:18Speaker 8: Hopefully we get home, we can watch the end of
- 1:53:19Speaker 8: the Dallas Buffalo game and then go right into Baltimore.
- 1:53:22Speaker 7: Jacksonville was like.
- 1:53:23Speaker 4: A plant, Michael.
- 1:53:24Speaker 7: I think, first the time, I think Baltimore is the
- 1:53:26Speaker 7: best team in the AFC. I think they prove it here.
- 1:53:28Speaker 7: I will take them.
- 1:53:28Speaker 9: I will lay the points me too, Baltimore on the road.
- 1:53:32Speaker 8: Plus they got moleik So who they might like promote them.
- 1:53:34Speaker 8: Oh no, they don't even have to use on the roster.
- 1:53:36Speaker 4: Would you think of Harbaugh's comments about, by the way,
- 1:53:40Speaker 4: not necessarily a quarterback?
- 1:53:41Speaker 7: No, same kind of thing.
- 1:53:42Speaker 5: The Patriot said, Yeah, interesting, I like the Ravens big
- 1:53:46Speaker 5: in this game. I think Lamar Jackson's playing out of
- 1:53:50Speaker 5: his mind right now. Love Lamar Jackson.
- 1:53:52Speaker 4: I'm taking Baltimore both ways. Also, if Trevor Lawrence were healthy,
- 1:53:57Speaker 4: I would think about I think the spread probably would
- 1:53:59Speaker 4: be different too, But I'll take Baltimore both ways.
- 1:54:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna take the Ravens as well. I think
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: Hardwall comes out and personally rolls right up on Trevor
- 1:54:07Speaker 1: Lawrence's ankle. Before the game Monday night, eight fifteen on ESPN, ABC,
- 1:54:15Speaker 1: ESPN two, ESPN Deportes, the ten and three Eagles are
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: at the six and seven Seahawks.
- 1:54:24Speaker 4: Philly by four.
- 1:54:27Speaker 7: I'm gonna go with the upset on this one, just
- 1:54:28Speaker 7: Seattle at home. I feel like it's it's kind of
- 1:54:30Speaker 7: a tough spot for Philly. They're they're trying to figure
- 1:54:32Speaker 7: it out a little bit. I'm just again trying to
- 1:54:35Speaker 7: make up some ground here. I'm gonna go for Seattle.
- 1:54:38Speaker 3: I'm gonna take Philly both ways.
- 1:54:42Speaker 5: I'm gonna take Philly both ways. But I don't like
- 1:54:44Speaker 5: how Philly is playing. Yeah, if I was them, i'd
- 1:54:46Speaker 5: be concerned. But I think Seattle's not very good.
- 1:54:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I agree. I'm gonna take Philly to win the game,
- 1:54:52Speaker 4: but I will take the points because I agree with Evan.
- 1:54:55Speaker 4: I don't think Phillies looked right.
- 1:54:57Speaker 1: I am gonna take the Seahawks outright.
- 1:55:00Speaker 5: You locked quarterback in this game. Maybe just letting you
- 1:55:03Speaker 5: all know.
- 1:55:04Speaker 4: How was that right?
- 1:55:04Speaker 7: It's well, I mean, they did trade for him for
- 1:55:06Speaker 7: a reason, Evan, so I think.
- 1:55:08Speaker 4: They both stuck.
- 1:55:08Speaker 1: So as a backup quarterback, you got to give Gino
- 1:55:11Speaker 1: with props.
- 1:55:12Speaker 4: I think he's been awful since like the first six
- 1:55:14Speaker 4: or seven games of last year.
- 1:55:16Speaker 5: Now he had a good year line.
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: All right, We go back to one o'clock on Fox.
- 1:55:21Speaker 1: The eight and five Chiefs and Taylor Swift are at
- 1:55:24Speaker 1: the three and ten Patriots.
- 1:55:26Speaker 4: Casey by seven and a half.
- 1:55:28Speaker 7: Oh, I got ten and a half. That's that's a
- 1:55:30Speaker 7: nice number.
- 1:55:31Speaker 1: He teased it down.
- 1:55:33Speaker 7: I I'm gonna take the points for the Patriots.
- 1:55:36Speaker 8: I just I have a feeling they're gonna they're gonna
- 1:55:38Speaker 8: play him tough. They're gonna they're gonna make life difficult.
- 1:55:40Speaker 8: I just I don't think that the Patriots have enough
- 1:55:42Speaker 8: on offense with Zappi and ultimately Mahomes and Kelsey will
- 1:55:46Speaker 8: get it done.
- 1:55:46Speaker 7: But I think it's it's a little bit close game.
- 1:55:49Speaker 7: I'm gonna take.
- 1:55:50Speaker 8: Oh gosh, now, I got to like do the math
- 1:55:51Speaker 8: to make my the number fit. I'm gonna take Kansas
- 1:55:56Speaker 8: City twenty three, New England eighteen.
- 1:56:00Speaker 5: Oh, how do they get to eighteen?
- 1:56:03Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:56:04Speaker 3: Hey, one way or another.
- 1:56:06Speaker 7: I'm in last place seven. I mean, come on, right,
- 1:56:09Speaker 7: I shouldn't trust you.
- 1:56:10Speaker 9: I agree, I think I think especially the defense will
- 1:56:13Speaker 9: play really hard, especially if they think Bill's job is
- 1:56:16Speaker 9: on the line. Kansas City wins, Patriots cover thirty.
- 1:56:20Speaker 3: One, twenty.
- 1:56:25Speaker 4: Four, twenty four.
- 1:56:26Speaker 3: That's that just checks out?
- 1:56:28Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:56:29Speaker 8: Well, I'm gonna see me on a protest if this
- 1:56:31Speaker 8: is what happens, Matt, who are we really struggling with?
- 1:56:33Speaker 1: The math is math?
- 1:56:36Speaker 7: We're all writers here, are we good letters?
- 1:56:39Speaker 4: Not numbers?
- 1:56:40Speaker 5: I think the Chiefs shake it off, and.
- 1:56:44Speaker 7: You couldn't resist.
- 1:56:45Speaker 5: I couldn't, hear, right, I couldn't. I was going to
- 1:56:48Speaker 5: take the Patriots to cover in this game. I have
- 1:56:50Speaker 5: twenty four to sixteen Patriots, So I guess if it's
- 1:56:52Speaker 5: our chiefs, excuse me, so I guess if it's seven
- 1:56:54Speaker 5: and a half, then I'm taking the Chiefs to cover.
- 1:56:56Speaker 5: I think the Patriots.
- 1:56:57Speaker 4: You want to change it to make the Patriots cover
- 1:56:59Speaker 4: or do you want to stay with.
- 1:57:00Speaker 5: I'll do twenty four to seventeen so that they can cover.
- 1:57:03Speaker 5: I think the Patriots make this competitive. It might be
- 1:57:05Speaker 5: a back door cover, but I think it's going to
- 1:57:07Speaker 5: be competitive and they're going to hang in there against
- 1:57:09Speaker 5: Kansas City. But ultimately Kansas City has got much bigger aspirations,
- 1:57:13Speaker 5: better quarterback. I think that they take care of.
- 1:57:15Speaker 4: Yeah, I think Kansas City will get right. I think
- 1:57:18Speaker 4: they're still maybe the team to beat in the AFC,
- 1:57:23Speaker 4: and I think they have to figure out a way
- 1:57:25Speaker 4: to get some consistency. And I think they'll come in
- 1:57:27Speaker 4: a pretty angry team. And well, I think they didn't
- 1:57:30Speaker 4: make it right. No, no, no, I'm not talking about whining.
- 1:57:33Speaker 4: I'm talking about how badly they're playing. Oh sorry, I
- 1:57:37Speaker 4: missed that one. I don't know the comma off. I
- 1:57:39Speaker 4: don't know the calm down one.
- 1:57:40Speaker 1: Which one is that you need a con down?
- 1:57:42Speaker 4: I don't know that song.
- 1:57:43Speaker 1: I like the one Life called slut It's so good.
- 1:57:47Speaker 5: Yeah, it's really good.
- 1:57:48Speaker 4: I don't know that's the one.
- 1:57:50Speaker 3: I mean it's a one from the vault.
- 1:57:52Speaker 4: Oh, so that's why I don't know.
- 1:57:54Speaker 7: Going deep dive. Where did you get that on your Wikipedia?
- 1:57:56Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 1:57:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I had to look them up today.
- 1:57:58Speaker 3: Did you listen to that?
- 1:57:59Speaker 1: No, that's going a step two.
- 1:58:01Speaker 4: I don't think the Chiefs are out of the woods yet,
- 1:58:03Speaker 4: though I don't either OFFENSI.
- 1:58:10Speaker 1: Can I make a pick?
- 1:58:13Speaker 4: I want to let everyone keep going. I just want
- 1:58:17Speaker 4: to let everyone know that one I got. The first
- 1:58:18Speaker 4: one I didn't. I've never heard that other song ever.
- 1:58:21Speaker 1: I just want to let everyone know I'm riding the
- 1:58:23Speaker 1: Patriots from here on it for the rest.
- 1:58:25Speaker 5: In your wildest dreams.
- 1:58:26Speaker 4: That was mine. So I was my headline.
- 1:58:29Speaker 1: We're back to December. I'm there, you go. I'm going
- 1:58:33Speaker 1: with the Patriots to win the game.
- 1:58:35Speaker 4: This is just bad.
- 1:58:36Speaker 1: Twenty four Patriots win. Wow. Yep. So I'm on the bandwagon.
- 1:58:44Speaker 1: We're gonna right out the end of the season.
- 1:58:45Speaker 5: You got zappy fever?
- 1:58:47Speaker 4: Yep?
- 1:58:47Speaker 7: Is that a song?
- 1:58:48Speaker 1: Draft pick?
- 1:58:48Speaker 3: Damn fever?
- 1:58:49Speaker 1: All right. That's it for this edition of Patriots Unfiltered.
