- 0:21Speaker 1: to a wild week four in the NFL. And man,
- 0:25Speaker 1: there were some interesting games. There were also some really
- 0:28Speaker 1: boring games. I felt like the contenders separated from the pretenders.

- 1:25Speaker 1: let's get right into it. We have the Cowboys... versus
- 1:29Speaker 1: the Texans. First look at this entire game, and it'll
- 1:34Speaker 1: tell you one thing, that the Dallas Cowboys, offensively, they're
- 1:37Speaker 1: a top five offense. I truly believe that, just watching
- 1:40Speaker 1: Dak Prescott, watching everything go along and how this game handles.
- 1:45Speaker 1: I know they played the Texans, but CeeDee Lamb had
- 1:48Speaker 1: 17 catches. You heard that right. 21 targets, 17 catches
- 1:54Speaker 1: for 189 yards, and most importantly, the game-winning touchdown. I
- 1:59Speaker 1: didn't understand the Houston Texans DB leverage. It made zero sense.
- 2:03Speaker 1: He's playing outside leverage when they're coming to pressure and
- 2:07Speaker 1: they have no help on the inside. They run a
- 2:09Speaker 1: little double post one, right? That was the throw of
- 2:12Speaker 1: the game by Dak. We'll get more into Dak and
- 2:15Speaker 1: more into the Houston Texans defense. But if you were blitzing,
- 2:18Speaker 1: and especially if you have no safety in the middle,
- 2:20Speaker 1: which was taken up by the inside through route, And
- 2:24Speaker 1: this is the problem, I think, with the Houston Texans defense.
- 2:28Speaker 1: They're allowing explosive plays at a really high clip. They're
- 2:32Speaker 1: not getting to the quarterback as much. Dak Prescott, to me,
- 2:36Speaker 1: looks like a top five quarterback. More importantly, let's just
- 2:40Speaker 1: start with the Dallas Cowboys sides of things. Where are
- 2:43Speaker 1: they at? Where's their state of the franchise at? It's okay.
- 2:47Speaker 1: It's okay. It's all right. Like you're allowing this Houston
- 2:50Speaker 1: Texans team to score 30. I mean, the story of
- 2:53Speaker 1: the entire year is you have a top three offense.
- 2:57Speaker 1: I truly believe with Dak Prescott, George Pickens, CD Lamb,
- 3:00Speaker 1: Javante Williams has three touchdowns on the ground. And then
- 3:04Speaker 1: you go over to that defense and you go over
- 3:06Speaker 1: to Christian Parker. Like, I just don't, I don't understand it.
- 3:10Speaker 1: They're really bad. Nothing about their calls makes sense. Christian
- 3:13Speaker 1: Parker's a Vic Fangio guy. And when I look at it,
- 3:16Speaker 1: And I see these two-eye safety looks, and I see
- 3:18Speaker 1: constantly these inside routes just continuing to get hit by C.J. Stroud,
- 3:22Speaker 1: and then you're not getting pressure on Dak Prescott. That's
- 3:27Speaker 1: where they sort of separated themselves. But I think with
- 3:32Speaker 1: the defense being as bad as they are, the Dallas Cowboys,
- 3:38Speaker 1: I mean, look, they just traded for Joey Porter, but
- 3:40Speaker 1: they're going to have to score points offensively. They honestly
- 3:43Speaker 1: should be 2-0 the last two weeks. The Ravens' loss
- 3:47Speaker 1: was brutal. It was because of their defense. You look
- 3:49Speaker 1: at the last two games, though, Dak Prescott's probably playing
- 3:51Speaker 1: at a top three or top four type quarterback level.
- 3:54Speaker 1: I don't know if you're Dallas on offense. Why don't
- 3:56Speaker 1: you just go two-minute drill the entire time? Dak Prescott,
- 3:59Speaker 1: to me, he's at the line of scrimmage. He's running
- 4:02Speaker 1: the two-minute plays. He's signaling. He's handling protections. You're also
- 4:07Speaker 1: wearing out that defensive front from the Texans. I thought
- 4:10Speaker 1: that's where he looked. his absolute best. And then obviously
- 4:13Speaker 1: we talked about CD lamb, but it's clear to me
- 4:15Speaker 1: who the number one target is on this team. Like
- 4:17Speaker 1: George Pickens is great. Don't know if he's going to
- 4:19Speaker 1: be there next year. Don't know anything, but like CD lamb,
- 4:22Speaker 1: it took, took a while. Cause if you remember on
- 4:24Speaker 1: this show, we talked about how, um, in the first
- 4:26Speaker 1: game they had like three or four targets. That is
- 4:29Speaker 1: not the case. 21 targets. I also love the way
- 4:32Speaker 1: Brian Schottenheimer needs. It needs a lot more credit, not
- 4:34Speaker 1: only as a head coach, but I like how he
- 4:36Speaker 1: called the game. Um, it was, it was, It was
- 4:40Speaker 1: interesting to watch and just see that offense move up
- 4:43Speaker 1: and down the field. But, yeah, the defense for the
- 4:46Speaker 1: Cowboys have to get better. Let's go to the Texans
- 4:47Speaker 1: really quick. I mean, the Texans right now, they're 0-4.
- 4:50Speaker 1: It looks really, really bleak. And guess what? For all
- 4:53Speaker 1: this talk about C.J. Stroud and this fifth-year option and
- 4:57Speaker 1: what are we doing, are we signing him? He's looked
- 4:59Speaker 1: really good. He threw for. 350 and two touchdowns. I
- 5:02Speaker 1: don't care if it's against the Cowboys' defense. You still
- 5:04Speaker 1: have to go out there and you have to do it.
- 5:05Speaker 1: The Texans, for the life of them, could not run
- 5:08Speaker 1: the ball. It's the second worst rush defense in the NFL,
- 5:12Speaker 1: and you run for 62 yards? You signed David Montgomery
- 5:15Speaker 1: this offseason, but you've been nonexistent since week one. Like,
- 5:19Speaker 1: that makes zero sense. Like, you have to figure– your
- 5:21Speaker 1: season's done, by the way. I don't even know what
- 5:24Speaker 1: it is. I remember last week they were 0-3, and
- 5:26Speaker 1: we're like, oh, they're going to run the table like
- 5:28Speaker 1: they did last year. No, put a fork in them.
- 5:29Speaker 1: They're absolutely done. The other thing about them is they
- 5:35Speaker 1: got outscored 28-14 in the second half. Like the Texas,
- 5:38Speaker 1: let's just go through, because we were all talking about
- 5:41Speaker 1: this Texas defense as an absolute beast. Let's just go
- 5:44Speaker 1: through the Texas defense this season. Week one, you're up
- 5:47Speaker 1: 31-30 with 3.05 to play. You give up a 96-yard drive.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Drop a wide open interception, you lose. Let's talk about
- 5:53Speaker 1: week three. You're up 19-17 with a minute 48 to play.
- 5:56Speaker 1: You give up a 39-yard drive and a game-winning field goal.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Week four, you're up. A lot going in the third,
- 6:02Speaker 1: fourth quarter. You're up 30-27, though, with 2.15 left. And
- 6:05Speaker 1: Dak Prescott absolutely annihilates you. I don't know what's going
- 6:09Speaker 1: to happen. C.J. Stroud, to me, is the quarterback of
- 6:13Speaker 1: the future. He's played well. You've got to fix that defense.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Let's move on to what I thought was probably the
- 6:18Speaker 1: game of the day. Rams versus the Eagles. The first
- 6:22Speaker 1: thing that stands out is, well, there's two things that
- 6:26Speaker 1: stand out. Nick Sirianni, what are you doing? Game management,
- 6:30Speaker 1: I swear we talk about this all the time with
- 6:33Speaker 1: Nick Sirianni, and it just never seems to be fixed.
- 6:38Speaker 1: The game management issues, in my opinion, with Nick Sirianni
- 6:43Speaker 1: and a head coach, I don't know if he's handling it.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I don't know if someone else is handling it. Big
- 6:46Speaker 1: Don might be handling it. You have to figure out
- 6:49Speaker 1: a way to manage the game better. I think the
- 6:54Speaker 1: biggest thing is seeing the multiple questionable decisions that and
- 7:01Speaker 1: going forward on fourth down, not taking points, doing stuff
- 7:04Speaker 1: throughout the game that just doesn't make sense. And I know, look,
- 7:06Speaker 1: the Eagles, they had nobody. They were banged up. They
- 7:12Speaker 1: were not the same offense without Saquon Lane-Johnson. Even with Lane-Johnson,
- 7:16Speaker 1: I just think that offensive line in general is getting
- 7:18Speaker 1: a lot older. By the way, the Rams didn't have
- 7:20Speaker 1: Aaron Donald or Myles Garrett. Still able to get home
- 7:23Speaker 1: quite a bit. And your boy Jalen Hurts, right? Like
- 7:27Speaker 1: he threw for 93 yards. And I get it. It's
- 7:31Speaker 1: sort of hard to win without Devontae Smith. But you
- 7:33Speaker 1: have Tank Bigsby and Darius Cooper, which, by the way,
- 7:36Speaker 1: made two touchdown catches. And that first one was just
- 7:40Speaker 1: an absolute moss in the end zone. But those are
- 7:43Speaker 1: your leading playmakers. And you have a new coordinator who
- 7:46Speaker 1: is trying to get Sean Manning, who's trying to get
- 7:48Speaker 1: on the same page as Jalen Hurts. They looked horrible.
- 7:51Speaker 1: And that's funny because we were texting back and forth
- 7:53Speaker 1: in the group text. This group text was great between
- 7:56Speaker 1: the Buston boys. And Jeremy Klump, he is a lifelong
- 7:59Speaker 1: Eagles fan. And he was telling me that they're going
- 8:02Speaker 1: to lose the game when they're up 10 points. And
- 8:06Speaker 1: I was like, no, they're not. They're fine. Sure enough,
- 8:08Speaker 1: what happens? Well, Saquon gets hurt, and they end up
- 8:11Speaker 1: coming back. The Rams on life support. Oh, my gosh.
- 8:15Speaker 1: I can't tell you how big of a deal this
- 8:18Speaker 1: is to go from 2-2 versus 1-3. Like, if you
- 8:24Speaker 1: lose this game right here on the road, which you
- 8:27Speaker 1: played awful in the first half, Matthew Stafford, But if
- 8:30Speaker 1: you lose this and you go to one and three, man,
- 8:33Speaker 1: it just seems a lot better. Love the job that
- 8:35Speaker 1: Sean McVay is doing. I don't know if you guys
- 8:36Speaker 1: saw that, but he huddled everyone up and he was like, dude,
- 8:40Speaker 1: let's go. You don't see that very often by NFL
- 8:43Speaker 1: head coaches. Thought the Eagles defense played pretty well in
- 8:45Speaker 1: the first half. Stafford ended up getting the job done,
- 8:50Speaker 1: but he threw two interceptions in the first half and
- 8:52Speaker 1: they weren't good. The Stafford to me, Doesn't look like
- 8:56Speaker 1: the same Stafford of the MVP of last year. I
- 8:58Speaker 1: don't think he's, I don't think it's an age thing.
- 9:00Speaker 1: I just think maybe teams are figuring them out. They're
- 9:03Speaker 1: doing these 12 and 13 personnel packages, but he's got
- 9:06Speaker 1: six touchdowns and six interceptions. The Rams didn't lead the
- 9:10Speaker 1: whole game until the fourth quarter, which is nuts. Like
- 9:14Speaker 1: they scored at the end. They were losing 20 to
- 9:17Speaker 1: 10 entering the fourth quarter. And literally the Rams kept
- 9:22Speaker 1: their season alive. I just thought in general too, The
- 9:25Speaker 1: Rams coached a lot better than the Eagles. It's great
- 9:29Speaker 1: to have Puka Nakua back. He passed Randy Moss. I
- 9:32Speaker 1: get this. He had a lot of yards. But Puka
- 9:35Speaker 1: Nakua passed Randy Moss on most yards through 50 games.
- 9:40Speaker 1: That's how good this dude has been. Since 2002, get this,
- 9:47Speaker 1: preseason Super Bowl favorites of plus 500 or better are
- 9:49Speaker 1: 0-14 on winning the Super Bowl. Rams were plus 500.
- 9:54Speaker 1: I just think this gives them life. They don't look
- 9:56Speaker 1: like a Super Bowl team right now. To me, they don't.
- 10:00Speaker 1: look like a Super Bowl team. There's a lot to
- 10:01Speaker 1: get back. Defensively, look, you hold the Eagles to 172
- 10:05Speaker 1: total yards. Your pass defense is good. Just wait. If
- 10:11Speaker 1: Matthew Stafford can play better, just wait until Aaron Donald
- 10:15Speaker 1: and Miles Garrett get back. But this game was an
- 10:18Speaker 1: interesting game. It was sort of a boring game to watch.
- 10:21Speaker 1: If the Rams lose this, their season's dead. Not so fast.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Back from the grave. All right, let's get to a
- 10:27Speaker 1: sneaky good game. It is Bears versus the Jets. First
- 10:31Speaker 1: of all, what a weird score. You guys ever heard
- 10:32Speaker 1: of scoregami? I don't think this is a scoregami, but
- 10:35Speaker 1: Jets have 12. Chicago has 23. This game was so...
- 10:41Speaker 1: Much worse of a beatdown than this score hits, and
- 10:46Speaker 1: we'll get into all of it. First of all, I
- 10:48Speaker 1: want to get to the biggest story of the day
- 10:50Speaker 1: for the Bears, and that was Tyson Bajent. I saw
- 10:54Speaker 1: what Case Keenum did on Monday Night Football last year.
- 10:57Speaker 1: I'm a big Case Keenum guy. I understand Tyson Bajent.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Caleb Williams is out hammy. Tyson Bajent had a concussion.
- 11:03Speaker 1: He was backing him up. Case Keenum played unbelievable. I
- 11:06Speaker 1: thought the offense, to me, looked better. versus this game
- 11:11Speaker 1: versus the game that Case Keenum, I thought it looked
- 11:13Speaker 1: better with Case Keenum. Case Keenum sort of found something
- 11:18Speaker 1: in that water in Chicago or that deep dish pizza
- 11:20Speaker 1: because he played out of this world. And I was
- 11:22Speaker 1: a little bit like, hey, what are they doing? Like,
- 11:25Speaker 1: why are they playing Case? Why are they playing Tyson
- 11:28Speaker 1: Bajan after Case Keenum did that? What do I know, though?
- 11:30Speaker 1: The Bears can win with all three quarterbacks. Like the
- 11:34Speaker 1: fact that the Bears are winning right now and they're
- 11:37Speaker 1: winning at the pace at what they're doing, it's super impressive.
- 11:42Speaker 1: You have three, you have multiple wins and you have
- 11:45Speaker 1: done it with multiple different quarterbacks. I think that's the
- 11:48Speaker 1: biggest thing from this game that I took away. And
- 11:52Speaker 1: the Bears look to me, I'm not being facetious, like
- 11:55Speaker 1: this is a team that looks like they can win
- 11:58Speaker 1: a Super Bowl. They look like they can win the NFC.
- 12:01Speaker 1: The NFC to me, they look like the class of
- 12:02Speaker 1: the NFC. Like Tyson Bajent, to me, 25 of 34,
- 12:06Speaker 1: 268 yards, an interception. They can run the piss out
- 12:10Speaker 1: of the ball. That is six touchdowns the very first
- 12:14Speaker 1: week or whatever against the Panthers. They ran the football,
- 12:17Speaker 1: 54 rush attempts for 232 yards. Kyle Menungai, 30 for 146,
- 12:23Speaker 1: two touchdowns. I mean, they just continued handing the football.
- 12:26Speaker 1: They have DeAndre Swift out there. Luther Burden is going nuts.
- 12:30Speaker 1: But look at this game for the Bears. I have
- 12:35Speaker 1: no clue how, I don't think this is a score.
- 12:36Speaker 1: He got me score. I have no idea how the
- 12:39Speaker 1: score was only 23 to 12. Get this stat. This
- 12:44Speaker 1: is crazy. And I'm not a bunch of stats, but
- 12:47Speaker 1: shout out Mitch Bussin for putting this in there because
- 12:49Speaker 1: it's amazing. The Bears had 34, follow me, 34 first
- 12:54Speaker 1: downs while the Jets only had seven. The Jets only
- 12:58Speaker 1: managed seven first downs. Okay, so the Bears had 34,
- 13:02Speaker 1: which anything over 24, 2-24 offensively, you are humming. That
- 13:07Speaker 1: means you're staying out of third downs. That means you're
- 13:09Speaker 1: continuing to drive the clock. And that's what happens with
- 13:11Speaker 1: the time of possession as well. The Bears ran almost
- 13:15Speaker 1: 90 plays. They ran 89. The Jets ran 32. So
- 13:19Speaker 1: get this. The Bears had more first downs, 34, than
- 13:24Speaker 1: the Jets had plays. How is this 20? If Caleb
- 13:28Speaker 1: Williams plays this game, it's a complete and utter disaster. destruction,
- 13:34Speaker 1: but shout out backup quarterbacks, right? Like I love backup quarterbacks.
- 13:38Speaker 1: I was a backup quarterback in Chicago. Mitch Trubisky got
- 13:41Speaker 1: hurt a few times. I was able to come in.
- 13:43Speaker 1: I was able to play well, but the fact that
- 13:45Speaker 1: you have two backup quarterbacks, I like Tyson Bajent a lot.
- 13:52Speaker 1: I feel like he is built like an NFL quarterback.
- 13:54Speaker 1: I feel like it never, ever looks too big for
- 13:58Speaker 1: him when he's out there. It also probably helps that
- 14:01Speaker 1: you have I don't know, Ben Johnson, who I would
- 14:04Speaker 1: put in the same category as Kyle Shanahan and Sean
- 14:09Speaker 1: McVay as offensive play callers. Do you know how hard
- 14:12Speaker 1: it is, Bears fans, to call plays for three completely
- 14:17Speaker 1: different quarterbacks? You have Houdini in the pocket with Caleb Williams,
- 14:21Speaker 1: and what he's able to do, he's moving left, he's
- 14:22Speaker 1: moving right. He's not really an under center quarterback, but
- 14:25Speaker 1: Ben Johnson's turned him into an under center quarterback. And
- 14:28Speaker 1: then you have Case Keenum, who's a statue in the
- 14:29Speaker 1: pocket like me, got a little beer belly, just like me.
- 14:33Speaker 1: He's my boy, so I can say that. Like, he
- 14:35Speaker 1: looks good out there. He's throwing absolute darts, so you've
- 14:37Speaker 1: got to have more play action. You've got to have
- 14:39Speaker 1: less move the pocket. You've got to make sure the
- 14:41Speaker 1: ball's out quick because he can't get away. And then
- 14:43Speaker 1: you have Tyson Bazant, who's a little bit of both. Like,
- 14:46Speaker 1: I feel like he can escape. The dude's an absolute
- 14:49Speaker 1: freak show in the gym, like get-off-me type. You have
- 14:53Speaker 1: all three different quarterbacks. So the play call sequencing, when
- 14:56Speaker 1: it comes down to that, which is, as Ben Johnson,
- 15:00Speaker 1: how do I– get from one play to the next,
- 15:03Speaker 1: and how does my quarterback handle that? All right, let's
- 15:07Speaker 1: take a play call sequence. Say I go run out
- 15:09Speaker 1: of heavy personnel on first down. Say it's run left.
- 15:13Speaker 1: All right, with Caleb Williams, you might want to go, hey,
- 15:15Speaker 1: let's get in the same personnel, different formation, run left,
- 15:18Speaker 1: boot right. With Case Keenum, you're like, hey, I can't boot.
- 15:21Speaker 1: I need fake here, but I need intermediate throws in
- 15:24Speaker 1: the middle of the field, which I think Case Keenum's
- 15:26Speaker 1: really good at. I think Caleb Williams is really good
- 15:28Speaker 1: at extending the play. And then maybe you have on
- 15:30Speaker 1: third down. Maybe you run it. Maybe you pop a
- 15:32Speaker 1: run with Case Kim so you don't trust him on
- 15:34Speaker 1: third down. Maybe you pop a run with Tyson Bajent
- 15:39Speaker 1: on third down because you don't think he can go.
- 15:42Speaker 1: I just think it's so impressive. We need to talk
- 15:46Speaker 1: about this team more. And by the way, we didn't
- 15:49Speaker 1: even get to the defense. Think about when they get
- 15:51Speaker 1: Caleb back. But how about Dennis Allen? Shout out Dennis
- 15:54Speaker 1: Allen for getting this defense rolling. I think they had
- 15:57Speaker 1: three takeaways yesterday. The week prior to this game, they
- 16:01Speaker 1: are getting takeaways now. They didn't have any this week.
- 16:04Speaker 1: The Bears also lost the turnover margin and still won.
- 16:06Speaker 1: That's probably why it was close. But shout out Dennis Allen.
- 16:09Speaker 1: The group finally is playing like they did last year.
- 16:13Speaker 1: I don't know if they led the league, but they
- 16:15Speaker 1: had an insane amount of takeaways last year. Right now,
- 16:18Speaker 1: they are rolling to the ball. Geno Smith had 119
- 16:23Speaker 1: yards through the air and only 59 rushing yards, I believe. Um,
- 16:28Speaker 1: for the, for the jets, I'm looking it up right now. Yeah.
- 16:30Speaker 1: One person carried the ball for the jets. They had
- 16:32Speaker 1: 14 carries 59 yards for Braylon Allen, Gino Smith. Look,
- 16:36Speaker 1: I like Frank Reich offensive coordinator. I think Gino's actually
- 16:39Speaker 1: playing pretty well. They're, they're not just an easy win,
- 16:42Speaker 1: but for a backup quarterback at home to get this, um, crazy. Uh,
- 16:46Speaker 1: but the bears defense to me, like they're playing complimentary football.
- 16:51Speaker 1: They're getting off the field on third down. Um, They're
- 16:54Speaker 1: just now figuring out who they are defensively, what their
- 16:57Speaker 1: identity wants to be. I think this team, and I'm
- 17:01Speaker 1: not saying this, I think they're one of the best
- 17:04Speaker 1: teams in the entire NFC. And I think if they
- 17:07Speaker 1: want to make a run at this thing, I think
- 17:10Speaker 1: Caleb Williams on the bench has learned a different perspective.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Like if I'm on the bench and I'm in the
- 17:17Speaker 1: backup and then you're always playing as a starter, you
- 17:20Speaker 1: sometimes don't get to see it from a different vantage point.
- 17:23Speaker 1: The fact that they're able to be three and one
- 17:26Speaker 1: with him learning on the sideline, you see him in
- 17:28Speaker 1: the bathrobe, dancing, getting excited. I know he's getting close.
- 17:34Speaker 1: It'll be interesting to see how he does when he
- 17:35Speaker 1: comes back. But I just I love this team in
- 17:38Speaker 1: with the run game that they have. It's taking pressure
- 17:41Speaker 1: off the quarterback. If their defense can continue to secure takeaways.
- 17:46Speaker 1: I think the biggest difference this year, the Bears know
- 17:49Speaker 1: exactly who they are, exactly what's expected about them. And
- 17:53Speaker 1: the fact of the matter is, this team can travel
- 17:57Speaker 1: in the playoffs. We talk about it all the time.
- 18:00Speaker 1: How do you travel in the playoffs? You have a
- 18:04Speaker 1: run game. You have a defense. They're not cardiac kids.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Remember those fourths? I think they won 10 out of
- 18:09Speaker 1: their however many games they won in the fourth quarter
- 18:13Speaker 1: or come from behind wins. This is different. Now, you're
- 18:15Speaker 1: going to need some of those to get rolling, but
- 18:18Speaker 1: I've just been super impressed with the Bears. Three separate
- 18:22Speaker 1: quarterbacks and the Jets. Look, there's not a lot to
- 18:25Speaker 1: say about the Jets. The Jets is the Jets. All right,
- 18:28Speaker 1: before we get into the afternoon games, let's take a
- 18:31Speaker 1: quick break. This football season, whether you're buying tickets, booking travel,
- 18:35Speaker 1: or shopping for team gear, protect your pocket with Visa.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Tapping to pay for a bootleg jersey without checking the card?
- 18:42Speaker 1: Not a pro move. Tapping to pay with Visa? That's
- 18:45Speaker 1: a pro move. Visa runs more than 500 security checks
- 18:49Speaker 1: to help identify fraud before transactions are approved, helping protect
- 18:53Speaker 1: your payment all the way to the end zone so
- 18:55Speaker 1: you can focus on other things, like whether boneless wings
- 18:59Speaker 1: are actually wings. Reaching for your card with five fingers
- 19:03Speaker 1: covered in buffalo sauce? That's a fumble waiting to happen.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Not a pro move. Tapping to pay with Visa? Now
- 19:09Speaker 1: that's a pro move. Because with Visa, you're not responsible
- 19:12Speaker 1: for any charges you didn't make. So you can save
- 19:15Speaker 1: your defensive energy for something else like keeping Taylor away
- 19:18Speaker 1: from your nachos. This season, a great defensive play is
- 19:22Speaker 1: paying with Visa. The most trusted way to pay for
- 19:25Speaker 1: football fans everywhere. Alright, back here on the first read.
- 19:29Speaker 1: We just did the early slate of games. Let's get
- 19:32Speaker 1: into my two favorite afternoon games. And that is the 49ers-
- 19:36Speaker 1: Broncos 49ers end up winning 24-14. This was a closer
- 19:40Speaker 1: game than I thought. It was interesting to see how
- 19:45Speaker 1: these two teams matched up because me, I think the
- 19:48Speaker 1: 49ers clearly clearly the best team in the NFC right
- 19:52Speaker 1: now like to me it's not even close we just
- 19:55Speaker 1: got done talking about the Bears San Francisco's 4-0 then
- 19:57Speaker 1: you go to the Broncos new play caller not quite
- 20:01Speaker 1: the the talent that they had last year even though
- 20:03Speaker 1: but they they end up getting Jalen Waddle back like
- 20:06Speaker 1: all these things but they're two and two They're 2-2
- 20:09Speaker 1: in a really tough division. Bo Nix has just been
- 20:12Speaker 1: all right. Look, on this channel, you know I love
- 20:14Speaker 1: me some Bo Nix. And we'll talk about him. Let's
- 20:17Speaker 1: start with the 49ers, though. Brock Purdy, 19 of 30,
- 20:20Speaker 1: 218 yards, two touchdowns. He didn't play his best game.
- 20:24Speaker 1: But I would say he's playing the position. And you
- 20:26Speaker 1: say that, right? You're like, Chase, he didn't play his
- 20:28Speaker 1: best game. Guess what? He still had 107 quarterback rating.
- 20:30Speaker 1: He still completed 19 of 30 for 218 yards. He
- 20:33Speaker 1: still was absolutely money in the fourth quarter. Against... A
- 20:39Speaker 1: very good, a very good Broncos defense that can get
- 20:43Speaker 1: after the passer. CMC had a rushing touchdown. Juice figured,
- 20:49Speaker 1: had a little knee injury. Hope he's okay because he
- 20:51Speaker 1: actually makes this offense go. George Kittle has some wheels.
- 20:54Speaker 1: I don't know if you saw it, but he's rolling
- 20:56Speaker 1: to the left. Brock Purdy, it's like a fake to
- 20:58Speaker 1: the right, rolling to the left, throws this to Kittle,
- 21:00Speaker 1: and then Kittle took off. Like, how good is it
- 21:02Speaker 1: to have George Kittle back? George went for four for
- 21:04Speaker 1: 70 and a touchdown. Mike Evans, five for 76 yards.
- 21:09Speaker 1: let's just talk about the job that Brock Purdy and
- 21:15Speaker 1: Kyle Shanahan has done. Cause we're going to get to
- 21:17Speaker 1: the Broncos and I have a lot of thoughts about
- 21:19Speaker 1: the Broncos. If you're a Broncos fan, stay with me here.
- 21:21Speaker 1: But the 49ers to me, they're the best team. They're
- 21:24Speaker 1: the best coach team in the NFL. The way that
- 21:26Speaker 1: the 49ers and Kyle Shanahan are sequencing and calling plays
- 21:29Speaker 1: right now, Brock Purdy looks magnificent. He's using his legs
- 21:33Speaker 1: when he needs to had 10 carries, never liked to
- 21:35Speaker 1: have him be the second leading rusher in terms of
- 21:37Speaker 1: attempts in a game. 10 carries for 29 yards. CMC
- 21:40Speaker 1: had 15 for 52. But they ended up running for
- 21:43Speaker 1: 140 yards. Versus defense like this, your play calling has
- 21:46Speaker 1: to be completely different. And your mindset as a quarterback
- 21:49Speaker 1: versus Broncos defense has to be completely different. You're probably
- 21:52Speaker 1: not going to get some massive throws down the field,
- 21:54Speaker 1: although they had that 56-yarder to kill. But most of
- 21:57Speaker 1: it was dinking and dunking, playing in front of the sticks.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Vance Joseph, the defensive coordinator for the Broncos, he makes
- 22:04Speaker 1: everything stay in front of you. So you really have
- 22:06Speaker 1: to pick and choose your spots. to be aggressive as
- 22:09Speaker 1: a play caller, knowing that this game was like 3-3 forever,
- 22:12Speaker 1: or 10-3. 49ers ended up scoring, and then the Broncos
- 22:15Speaker 1: ended up scoring. So this looked like a little bit
- 22:17Speaker 1: of a back-and-forth game. But the way Brock Purdy is
- 22:20Speaker 1: playing the quarterback position right now is super impressive. And
- 22:24Speaker 1: I say that because the target shares, like I'm just
- 22:27Speaker 1: going to read these target shares. I hope you like
- 22:28Speaker 1: to get nerdy in here. Mike Evans, he's spreading it around.
- 22:31Speaker 1: I might get to what it means. Mike Evans, eight targets.
- 22:34Speaker 1: George Kittle, six targets. Deebo Samuel, six targets, which, by
- 22:38Speaker 1: the way, I think he's sort of like a sneaky
- 22:40Speaker 1: MVP for that team. Playing extremely well, also had a touchdown. CMC,
- 22:44Speaker 1: five targets. So you have one, two, three, four. Four
- 22:47Speaker 1: guys that have the lion's share of your targets, 26
- 22:50Speaker 1: total out of the 29. But you see how easily
- 22:53Speaker 1: they are complementary to one another because you can't really
- 22:58Speaker 1: focus in on one person in this offense. If I
- 23:00Speaker 1: had to pick the one person on this offense other
- 23:02Speaker 1: than CMC, other than George Kittle, that's made a massive
- 23:05Speaker 1: difference is Mike Evans. Like five for 76, average 15.2 yards,
- 23:09Speaker 1: multiple third down catches. I just think when you have
- 23:13Speaker 1: a guy like Mike Evans that you know is going
- 23:16Speaker 1: to get one-on-one coverage because you have all these other dudes,
- 23:20Speaker 1: CMC and George Kittle, it makes you relax as a quarterback.
- 23:24Speaker 1: The fact that they were able to get on the
- 23:25Speaker 1: same page so quickly together, I think that's what's impressive. Obviously, Mike,
- 23:31Speaker 1: I think he's one of the better receivers of all time.
- 23:33Speaker 1: coming over from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But the job
- 23:36Speaker 1: and the coaching, it's always come down to injuries, that substation,
- 23:41Speaker 1: all that stuff. The fact of the matter is they
- 23:44Speaker 1: are playing really well. Their defense is playing a lot
- 23:46Speaker 1: better than a lot of people think. So to have
- 23:51Speaker 1: those guys back into the building, it's really, really good.
- 23:56Speaker 1: And it's not weird to say or different to say
- 24:01Speaker 1: that Brock Purdy– looks like the best quarterback in football.
- 24:06Speaker 1: And it's not weird or anything to say that the
- 24:08Speaker 1: 49ers look like the best team in football. They're going
- 24:11Speaker 1: to continue to, um, to get better. Look at their
- 24:15Speaker 1: schedule though. I think the Seahawks game will be interesting commanders.
- 24:19Speaker 1: I mean, there's a real, very real chance they could
- 24:22Speaker 1: be seven, eight. No, I think the biggest thing is,
- 24:25Speaker 1: can you stay healthy? Um, but I love the way
- 24:28Speaker 1: the 49ers play. Let's get to the Broncos side of things. Um,
- 24:32Speaker 1: It's just been a really up and down season. And
- 24:36Speaker 1: I think it starts with the play caller, Davis Webb.
- 24:39Speaker 1: I'm not putting blame on him. I think it starts
- 24:41Speaker 1: with the play caller. I think it starts with Sean
- 24:43Speaker 1: Payton a little bit. I think it starts with the
- 24:45Speaker 1: quarterback a little bit. They don't know who they are identity-wise.
- 24:48Speaker 1: And a lot of people don't understand this, but everyone
- 24:51Speaker 1: just thought Davis Webb would go in and call the
- 24:53Speaker 1: exact same Sean Payton plays. Guess what? It's not. That's
- 24:55Speaker 1: not the case. He hasn't just called the same plays.
- 24:57Speaker 1: They've added a few things. I was able to be into...
- 25:02Speaker 1: meetings with them last offseason this offseason and just really
- 25:07Speaker 1: understand like what's happening I got to go to training
- 25:09Speaker 1: camp and we sat down with Sean Payton a couple
- 25:11Speaker 1: years ago and Sean's my guy saw him at the
- 25:13Speaker 1: hall of fame with Drew Brees and look I would
- 25:17Speaker 1: imagine at some point Sean's going to be more involved
- 25:19Speaker 1: in the play calling and I'm not saying that this
- 25:21Speaker 1: is a Davis web issue by any chance or any
- 25:24Speaker 1: means but when you're a first-time play caller and you
- 25:28Speaker 1: have Sean Payton under you it's almost like Bill Parcells
- 25:30Speaker 1: I don't know if you guys heard this but Sean
- 25:32Speaker 1: Payton was talking about play calling. He was asked, I
- 25:35Speaker 1: think by Peter Schrager or somebody about how it's like
- 25:38Speaker 1: to sort of watch someone else do what you do
- 25:41Speaker 1: so well, right? That that's what, and just, and he's like,
- 25:43Speaker 1: it's hard. It's really hard. And I think through, through
- 25:46Speaker 1: the day and through the times that they're going, I
- 25:49Speaker 1: think it's going to be interesting to see sort of
- 25:51Speaker 1: what happens there. The defense to me played. Okay. I
- 25:55Speaker 1: just think this is going to come down to a
- 25:57Speaker 1: season where if, Davis Webb can't get on the same
- 26:01Speaker 1: page with Bo Nix. I like the fact that Jalen
- 26:04Speaker 1: Waddell had a touchdown. But you can't go into a
- 26:09Speaker 1: game and have R.J. Harvey, who I love, he has
- 26:13Speaker 1: 10 targets. Like he has 10 targets in a game.
- 26:17Speaker 1: He's your leading targeter. He's got 10 catches. The next
- 26:21Speaker 1: most catches is five for 35 in Jalen Waddell. I
- 26:24Speaker 1: like that he ended up getting a touchdown there. And
- 26:27Speaker 1: then another thing, too, and this has been a problem
- 26:29Speaker 1: for the Broncos, and it's sort of been a problem
- 26:33Speaker 1: for Sean Payton, even from his New Orleans days. 22 carries,
- 26:37Speaker 1: 82 rushing yards. You can't do that. You have to
- 26:41Speaker 1: be aggressive in games like this. You have to push
- 26:43Speaker 1: the ball down the football field. You can't have Bo
- 26:45Speaker 1: Nix throwing it 42 times, and you're running at 22.
- 26:48Speaker 1: I mean, that's a two-to-one rate. That's just, to me,
- 26:50Speaker 1: that doesn't make a lot of sense. I think the Broncos,
- 26:52Speaker 1: to me, they got to get their stuff right, man.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Like you're looking at them, they get the Chargers next week.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Then they got Seahawks and they got Cardinals and they
- 26:59Speaker 1: got Chiefs, man. They got to be above 500. They
- 27:03Speaker 1: got to figure out who they are identity wise. But yeah,
- 27:07Speaker 1: it's just, it was a good game. But I think
- 27:10Speaker 1: the best game of the slate, Chiefs Raiders. Like the
- 27:14Speaker 1: Chiefs Raiders to me, 30 to 27, Kenneth Walker, Patrick
- 27:19Speaker 1: Mahomes taking over again. Can you just, can we just
- 27:22Speaker 1: give a golf clap? Kenneth Walker. Sean Payton, or sorry,
- 27:25Speaker 1: Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, 175 yards and two touchdowns on
- 27:30Speaker 1: the ground. This is a completely different football team with
- 27:33Speaker 1: those two at the helm. Like Kenneth Walker has completely changed.
- 27:37Speaker 1: We did a breakdown on SportsCenter. I was at SportsCenter.
- 27:41Speaker 1: We were at Mississippi State, Alabama game. And they said, hey, Chase,
- 27:44Speaker 1: you want to talk to Chiefs Raiders? I was like, yeah,
- 27:46Speaker 1: did some digging, all this stuff. Last week against the Dolphins,
- 27:51Speaker 1: and I don't know the stats here because these are
- 27:53Speaker 1: next-gen stats. Last week against the Dolphins, Patrick Mahomes had
- 27:57Speaker 1: 14 completions and 14 attempts on play action. You know
- 28:03Speaker 1: who the number one team in the league is at
- 28:07Speaker 1: using play action? I think it's 36% of the time.
- 28:10Speaker 1: It's the Kansas City Chiefs. The Kansas City Chiefs for me.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Just absolutely insane. I think what they're doing is really
- 28:18Speaker 1: next level. I think I have enjoyed everything about this team.
- 28:23Speaker 1: I think they figured out how to win football games.
- 28:27Speaker 1: I feel like they have figured out ways to really
- 28:31Speaker 1: step up their game and change who they are offensively.
- 28:35Speaker 1: And one of those reasons why I think they played
- 28:37Speaker 1: really well is Tyquan Thornton. And man, it was really bad.
- 28:42Speaker 1: he caught this cover zero post. He ended up, looked
- 28:45Speaker 1: like his ankle was moving back inside. If you're queasy, don't,
- 28:48Speaker 1: you don't want to talk about it. You don't want
- 28:49Speaker 1: to figure that out. Um, because it's just not great,
- 28:54Speaker 1: but he, he has been their biggest deep threat this year.
- 28:59Speaker 1: And he comes up, they run this cover zero post.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Mahomes does a good job stepping back, firing this pigskin
- 29:05Speaker 1: down the field. He hits it, gets tackled. And I
- 29:07Speaker 1: just think that's a huge loss. He's been a huge
- 29:09Speaker 1: part of their deep game. Um, The Chiefs, it was
- 29:13Speaker 1: a really close game. They scored to take the lead,
- 29:16Speaker 1: and then what happened was the Raiders fumbled on the
- 29:19Speaker 1: ensuing kickoff, and Kenneth Walker scored on the first play after.
- 29:24Speaker 1: And if you're looking defensively, I think this Chiefs team
- 29:29Speaker 1: is good. I think they're better than they thought. Um,
- 29:32Speaker 1: I think the fact that they're 4-0, uh, is, is
- 29:35Speaker 1: really impressive. I think the fact that, um, they got
- 29:39Speaker 1: a really difficult schedule coming up bodes well for them
- 29:41Speaker 1: that they're 4-0. The Chargers are always, uh, play them good.
- 29:44Speaker 1: They got the Seahawks, uh, and then they got the
- 29:47Speaker 1: Broncos and then it's easy from there. Jets, Chiefs, or Jets, Falcons, uh, Cardinals.
- 29:53Speaker 1: But I like the way Mansour Delane's playing. Um, uh,
- 29:56Speaker 1: I do think that, But offensively, though, they're going to
- 29:59Speaker 1: have to carry it. I think they're a different team,
- 30:02Speaker 1: and I think it's really good. Now let's get to
- 30:03Speaker 1: the Raiders because the Raiders are 3-1. Could you believe
- 30:08Speaker 1: at the start of this game that the Raiders were
- 30:09Speaker 1: playing for a chance at the first place in the
- 30:16Speaker 1: AFC West? To me, it was next level. I think
- 30:19Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins and the Raiders, they're for real. I love
- 30:23Speaker 1: watching him play. Kirk has played really well. He's thrown
- 30:28Speaker 1: 11 touchdowns. He threw an interception today, but he's 365 yards.
- 30:32Speaker 1: And Brock Bowers, a baller, Michael Mayer, Ashton Jitty, they
- 30:36Speaker 1: look good. And I can't tell you how much I've
- 30:39Speaker 1: enjoyed watching Clint Kubiak call these plays. You've forgotten about
- 30:46Speaker 1: Fernando Mendoza. I've forgotten about Fernando Mendoza. I was completely
- 30:50Speaker 1: wrong on it, I guess. I think I was the
- 30:52Speaker 1: one who was like, hey, you know what? We need
- 30:54Speaker 1: to play him sooner rather than later. Well, guess what?
- 30:57Speaker 1: Not so fast. The Raiders are three and one. I
- 31:00Speaker 1: think they're for real. I think Ashton Jindy, I think
- 31:02Speaker 1: the way that Clint Kubiak is able to sequence these
- 31:05Speaker 1: play calls, I think it's great. This seemed like a
- 31:09Speaker 1: heavyweight matchup, sort of, and it's weird to say because,
- 31:13Speaker 1: you know, it's the Raiders, and I think the Raiders'
- 31:16Speaker 1: defense is good. I just think Patrick Mahomes, I think
- 31:18Speaker 1: he's got that clutch gene back. It's been a while.
- 31:21Speaker 1: His knee feels really good. But yeah, I've just been
- 31:25Speaker 1: super impressed with this entire game. We're going to do
- 31:28Speaker 1: something new here. We're going to do a little trending up,
- 31:31Speaker 1: trending down. We're going to pick three players, coaches, or
- 31:34Speaker 1: teams that are trending up and what I liked about
- 31:36Speaker 1: their performance and three players that are trending or coaches
- 31:38Speaker 1: or teams that are trending down. Let's get into it.
- 31:41Speaker 1: How about Drake May? He's like, if you had two
- 31:44Speaker 1: arrows on this, if we have two arrows, can we
- 31:46Speaker 1: just get them like pointing way up? Because Drake May
- 31:50Speaker 1: handled the bills their first loss There's been so much
- 31:53Speaker 1: talk about Drake May and his mechanics. And look, I
- 31:57Speaker 1: love Dan Orlowski and I love everyone else that he's
- 31:59Speaker 1: breaking down. Like the left knee's not bent, all this stuff.
- 32:01Speaker 1: You know what, Drake May? Mike Grable said, that's enough.
- 32:04Speaker 1: I've had enough of that. 269 yards, three touchdowns, had
- 32:07Speaker 1: a pick. Also led the team in rushing. Can't have
- 32:09Speaker 1: that happen with 54 yards. Had three fumbles. I get it.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Only lost one. But when I look at a quarterback
- 32:15Speaker 1: and I look at mechanically, he did have a little
- 32:18Speaker 1: bit of a flaw in his mechanics, but he was
- 32:20Speaker 1: just so sick and tired. Everyone's talking about, like, Drake May,
- 32:23Speaker 1: look at the schedule last year. Look at how you're doing. Look,
- 32:26Speaker 1: I get it. You have to figure it out, and
- 32:28Speaker 1: you have Josh McDaniels going. I just love the fact
- 32:31Speaker 1: that he's playing really well. Like, Patriots receiver core is
- 32:35Speaker 1: absolutely getting banged up. Like, you don't have A.J. Brown
- 32:37Speaker 1: out there. You have a hell of a one-handed catch
- 32:40Speaker 1: by Efton Chisholm, the third for the game-winning touchdown. Did
- 32:43Speaker 1: you guys see that Moss catch? No, but seriously, I
- 32:46Speaker 1: think Drake May, to me, He's been outstanding this year.
- 32:50Speaker 1: The next player and team. Can we do player and team? Yes,
- 32:54Speaker 1: we can. Deshaun Watson and the Browns. Who in their
- 32:58Speaker 1: right mind would have thought that Deshaun would have the
- 33:02Speaker 1: Browns at 3-1 atop the AFC North? Not me. Not me.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Three straight weeks. He has led a go-ahead drive in
- 33:09Speaker 1: the fourth quarter for a third straight week. The one
- 33:11Speaker 1: thing I really like about Deshaun is... He's not going
- 33:15Speaker 1: to be like this ultimate pocket passer, but what he
- 33:17Speaker 1: is doing, he's actually staying away from sacks at a
- 33:20Speaker 1: really high clip, in my opinion. He's able to move
- 33:24Speaker 1: a little bit, and he's keeping his head down the field.
- 33:26Speaker 1: He's also running the football really well. I think the Browns'
- 33:30Speaker 1: defense is legit. I think this team is sustainable. You
- 33:34Speaker 1: look at their core, and their core players from Jutkins
- 33:38Speaker 1: to Harold Fannin to both of the rookie receivers, like
- 33:42Speaker 1: Denzel Boston, Casey Concepcion– Like they got the Jets next week.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Who had the Browns possibly being 4-1? I just want
- 33:50Speaker 1: to like, there's been a lot of off the field
- 33:53Speaker 1: stuff going on with the Browns and Watson. And yes,
- 33:56Speaker 1: the Browns have two first round picks next year. And
- 34:00Speaker 1: this quarterback class from college, it's real. I don't even
- 34:03Speaker 1: want to talk about that right now. There's a lot
- 34:05Speaker 1: of people talking about that. I don't even want to
- 34:06Speaker 1: talk about this. I just want to enjoy the fact
- 34:08Speaker 1: that Browns fans have not booed Deshaun Watson. All right.
- 34:11Speaker 1: We talked about him, but trending up, Ben Johnson. The
- 34:14Speaker 1: Bears can win with anyone at quarterback. We talked about it.
- 34:18Speaker 1: I don't want to spend a lot of time here,
- 34:19Speaker 1: but the last two games without Caleb Williams, 2-0, Case Keenum,
- 34:23Speaker 1: Tyson Bajent, get this, combined 49 of 68, 515 yards,
- 34:29Speaker 1: 50 total points. That's without your starter. That's with your
- 34:32Speaker 1: quarterback three. That's with your quarterback two. They're relying on
- 34:36Speaker 1: the run game a lot, as they should. 360 rush
- 34:38Speaker 1: yards in the last two games. Offense hasn't missed a beat, though,
- 34:42Speaker 1: and the defense has only allowed 19 points. That's what
- 34:44Speaker 1: you want, and we talked about it, with a team
- 34:49Speaker 1: that doesn't have their starter. We know points are going
- 34:51Speaker 1: to be at a premium. Can you hold? Can this
- 34:54Speaker 1: defense hold? Yes. I think when Caleb Williams gets back,
- 34:58Speaker 1: other than the 49ers, which we talked about, they could
- 35:01Speaker 1: be the best-looking team in the entire NFC. All right,
- 35:03Speaker 1: let's get a training down. I don't really do negative
- 35:05Speaker 1: stuff a lot, but I'm going to do some negative
- 35:06Speaker 1: stuff early. Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy. Did you see
- 35:11Speaker 1: the comment? What in the world was that? Like call
- 35:15Speaker 1: them an a-hole and Rogers is like doing his thing
- 35:17Speaker 1: and showing up Mike McCarthy and stuff like that. These
- 35:20Speaker 1: two are like an old married couple. You're going to
- 35:21Speaker 1: have moments where they're yelling at each other's throats. I
- 35:24Speaker 1: think Rogers has played pretty well in this offense, but
- 35:28Speaker 1: Rogers yelling, call the effing play camera switches to McCarthy saying,
- 35:31Speaker 1: you know, there's a lot of cussing. I don't like
- 35:34Speaker 1: to cuss, but like that's all time quarterback and head
- 35:37Speaker 1: coach communication. I, I like the way Aaron Rodgers is playing.
- 35:41Speaker 1: I think they got to figure this out. And you
- 35:42Speaker 1: could tell that McCarthy in the press conference after was like, ah,
- 35:46Speaker 1: shouldn't have caught it. There's always, if you're watching the
- 35:49Speaker 1: show and you're young, there's always people watching. Be careful
- 35:51Speaker 1: with what you say. All right, let's get to, oh
- 35:54Speaker 1: my God, Mike McDaniel, Justin Herbert. What's going on? What
- 36:00Speaker 1: in the world is going on? I have no clue. Herbert,
- 36:06Speaker 1: first play of the game, pick, ended up throwing two picks,
- 36:08Speaker 1: getting sacked four times, under pressure the entire game, got
- 36:11Speaker 1: hit nine times. Offense just looks so out of sorts.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Herbert does not look comfortable whatsoever. If you remember, Mike
- 36:17Speaker 1: McDaniel was supposed to be the savior for Justin Herbert.
- 36:21Speaker 1: He was supposed to make Justin Herbert better. Justin Herbert
- 36:24Speaker 1: has regressed. Now, who do they have at receiver other
- 36:27Speaker 1: than Ladd McConkie? Those two tackles are pretty good. That offense, though? like, okay,
- 36:32Speaker 1: I'm Ryan Hampton. Okay. Like, but you need, you need studs.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Quentin Johnson's not a stud receiver. He's a good receiver.
- 36:39Speaker 1: You don't have anyone that can separate. And I'm not
- 36:42Speaker 1: saying I'm blaming all the other pieces and not blaming Justin.
- 36:45Speaker 1: Cause Justin has not played well at all. Something's got
- 36:48Speaker 1: to change though. Like something, something has to change quickly.
- 36:51Speaker 1: The fact that they're on for, like I played for
- 36:54Speaker 1: Justin or with Justin, I played for the chargers. That's
- 36:58Speaker 1: the worst feeling in the world. Definitely. If we had
- 37:02Speaker 1: two arrows down, that's them. All right, last one. Nick Sirianni,
- 37:07Speaker 1: coaching decisions. He is definitely trending down. He single-handedly lost
- 37:13Speaker 1: at Eagles this game. Some of the coaching decisions he made,
- 37:18Speaker 1: let's just go through them. This isn't a normal occurrence,
- 37:22Speaker 1: but it happens more often than you think. Head coaches,
- 37:26Speaker 1: in my opinion, if you're not calling offense, if you're
- 37:29Speaker 1: not calling defense, your job... Nick Cerrone, is to manage
- 37:32Speaker 1: the game. Sometimes things go haywire. Sometimes things go wrong.
- 37:36Speaker 1: It happens more likely than not. Let's just go over them.
- 37:38Speaker 1: He had the opportunity to go up 13 in the
- 37:41Speaker 1: fourth quarter. Went for it from the five-yard line and
- 37:44Speaker 1: didn't get it. I can't tell you how much that
- 37:46Speaker 1: I do not like head coaches taking points. I know
- 37:49Speaker 1: they're probably taking analytics. Take the points. Guess what? Rams
- 37:52Speaker 1: went 98 yards in six plays to make it a
- 37:55Speaker 1: three-point game. He also went for it on their own
- 37:57Speaker 1: 38-yard line. Didn't get it. Did he realize that he
- 38:01Speaker 1: didn't have Lane Johnson, he didn't have Saquon Barkley, he
- 38:04Speaker 1: didn't have Devontae Smith? Those are three of his best
- 38:07Speaker 1: players at every position group, and you are making these decisions.
- 38:14Speaker 1: I'm not the one out there. I've played a few years,
- 38:16Speaker 1: so I have some pretty good figuring out and explanations
- 38:20Speaker 1: of what's happening. The Eagles had 172 yards of total offense.
- 38:23Speaker 1: That's their lowest total in a game the last 12 years.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Eagles fans are imploding. Like, I can't even imagine, like,
- 38:29Speaker 1: Philly fans, like, I can't even imagine what's going on here.
- 38:31Speaker 1: 68 net passing yards. Lowest total in a regular season
- 38:34Speaker 1: in the last 23 years. Not good. That's the training
- 38:38Speaker 1: up and training down section. Now let's get to what
- 38:40Speaker 1: I like to call good ball, bad ball. My good
- 38:43Speaker 1: ball winner of the week, and we talked about him,
- 38:45Speaker 1: it's CeeDee Lamb. Helmet stickers, good ball, game ball, whatever
- 38:50Speaker 1: you want to do. We're doing good ball award, though.
- 38:51Speaker 1: CeeDee Lamb, 17 catches, 189 yards. and the game-winning touchdown
- 38:56Speaker 1: on the sickest route ever. We talked about it in
- 38:58Speaker 1: the open. Why are they playing outside leverage? I don't
- 39:01Speaker 1: get it. I don't understand it. Boom, got a little post,
- 39:04Speaker 1: hits that. The biggest thing that I think about this guy,
- 39:08Speaker 1: him and Dak Prescott are single-handling carrying the Cowboys. That's
- 39:11Speaker 1: why the Cowboys have won these games. 21 targets. I
- 39:16Speaker 1: don't think you understand just how difficult that is to
- 39:20Speaker 1: be targeted 21 times, almost half the pass plays. that
- 39:25Speaker 1: the Cowboys threw. But congratulations, the first annual, or first
- 39:30Speaker 1: week ever, you win my good ball award. And yes,
- 39:32Speaker 1: we are going to get the bad ball award. I'm
- 39:34Speaker 1: not even going to spend a whole bunch of time
- 39:35Speaker 1: on it. Nick Sirianni. Nick Sirianni, we talked about it.
- 39:40Speaker 1: You single-handed the last Eagles game. You are my first annual,
- 39:43Speaker 1: first weekly loser of that, or do we call it
- 39:47Speaker 1: a winner if it's bad ball? He's the winner. of
- 39:50Speaker 1: the Bad Ball Award. And let's finish off the show.
- 39:52Speaker 1: We did the two-minute drill last time. There's just a
- 39:56Speaker 1: lot of stuff going on in the NFL from the Cowboys,
- 39:59Speaker 1: everyone else. Let's just talk about some of the actual
- 40:01Speaker 1: things that have been happening. Joe Burrow, what is happening, dude?
- 40:04Speaker 1: Jamar Chase had a concussion. The Jacksonville Jaguars, I think,
- 40:07Speaker 1: are for real. But you have 10 penalties for 100
- 40:09Speaker 1: yards in the first half of Cincinnati. It's the most
- 40:11Speaker 1: since Cowboys in 2023 since Week 13. Kyler Murray looked better.
- 40:18Speaker 1: Vikings won with five field goals, moved to 4-0. I
- 40:20Speaker 1: thought he looked really good in the second half. I
- 40:22Speaker 1: thought this Vikings team, this is what you want out
- 40:25Speaker 1: of a starting quarterback. I think it's really good. How
- 40:27Speaker 1: about the Commanders playing the third-string quarterback from Rutgers? He
- 40:30Speaker 1: was throwing some dimes, though. Marcus Murray got hurt. Now
- 40:32Speaker 1: you're without Jaden Daniels. Now you're without Marcus Murray. I
- 40:34Speaker 1: hope he's okay. Commanders, David Blau, first-time play caller. Ah, stinks.
- 40:40Speaker 1: James Swenson, 250 yards, three touchdowns, and the Giants, and
- 40:44Speaker 1: I think one of the more entertaining– Games, Giants versus Cardinals.
- 40:47Speaker 1: Malik Nabors had over 100 yards. That's the Jameis Winston
- 40:50Speaker 1: that we know and love. Jameis got a lot of
- 40:52Speaker 1: crap this week. In weeks past, like, oh, you know,
- 40:55Speaker 1: you trade for J.J. McCarthy. Hey, man, congratulations. Biggest thing, too,
- 40:59Speaker 1: we didn't really cover this, but it's a big deal.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Lamar Jackson looked amazing. Didn't play in the second half
- 41:03Speaker 1: due to an ankle injury in their win against the Titans.
- 41:05Speaker 1: And somehow, someway, the Packers barely, which I think the
- 41:09Speaker 1: Packers are one of the worst teams in the NFL,
- 41:11Speaker 1: they snuck by the Bucs and quarterback Jalen Daniels with
- 41:13Speaker 1: their backup. But yeah, I hope you like the show.
- 41:17Speaker 1: We're going to go through five games like this. We're
- 41:19Speaker 1: going to do game ball winners. We're going to do
- 41:20Speaker 1: all this stuff. This is the first three. Make sure
- 41:23Speaker 1: you like and subscribe. I don't like saying that, but
- 41:25Speaker 1: it's very easy. Like, subscribe, do all this show. We're
- 41:28Speaker 1: going to break down three quarterbacks tomorrow on the breakdown
- 41:32Speaker 1: show on my YouTube channel. Thank you so much, man.
- 41:36Speaker 1: We will see you next week.
