- 1:53Speaker 1: That is tattooing?
- 1:54Speaker 3: Where did you get that?
- 1:55Speaker 2: A gentleman online? I'm gonna say his name correctly.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Why did his name shout out? No one's gonna buy
- 2:02Speaker 3: a one six scaled tattooing set, but.

- 2:22Speaker 1: I saw them and I was like I need that,
- 2:24Speaker 1: and he was like, I've got you. Don't worry about it.
- 2:27Speaker 3: How long did it take for him to make him?
- 2:30Speaker 1: Uh? It took him a while.
- 2:34Speaker 2: But you know what I think, you know what I
- 2:35Speaker 2: think he did. I think he just gave me his
- 2:37Speaker 2: old one. I'm just joking, but I think he gave
- 2:40Speaker 2: me like he gave me an old prop, which is
- 2:42Speaker 2: really dope.
- 2:43Speaker 1: He gave me. Look, there's a bunch of things.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Are you running out of room in that animation studio?
- 2:48Speaker 1: I feel like zero room left.
- 2:50Speaker 3: I feel like, little by little, there's no room for
- 2:52Speaker 3: you to animate.
- 2:53Speaker 5: You got ceiling space left.
- 2:54Speaker 6: I can animate boxes and stuff.
- 2:56Speaker 3: I know. But are you going to maybe expand into
- 2:59Speaker 3: the garage.
- 3:00Speaker 2: I'm gonna have to because look, let me just make
- 3:02Speaker 2: sure that nothing unseeable because look at this ship.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Wow, wow, God, Oh that's the crane Jesus. I think
- 3:13Speaker 3: you might need to It's all right. I think everyone knows.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Everyone knows blurt out. There's not a single person that
- 3:23Speaker 3: that'll be funny if you blur out the bonk. Listen, Donald,
- 3:29Speaker 3: Does Casey know that you're gonna start expanding into the garage.
- 3:34Speaker 2: I've already started expanding into the garage, Zach.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Yeah. Do you want to have our our our shared
- 3:39Speaker 3: contractor Bill? Maybe take down that wall?
- 3:42Speaker 2: I think that I think he needs to take down
- 3:44Speaker 2: this wall and build another wall one step away.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Well, why don't you just take over the whole garage.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Who cares? It's your studio.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Well, there's a you know what, that would be great
- 3:53Speaker 2: if I could, because there is a washer and dryer
- 3:56Speaker 2: that I.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Want to get removed and put inside the house. Wants
- 4:00Speaker 1: to do that?
- 4:01Speaker 3: Yeah, there you go. So this is how you frame it, honey.
- 4:03Speaker 3: I really want to do what you want with putting
- 4:06Speaker 3: the washer and dryer in the house. Yes, And in
- 4:09Speaker 3: doing so, I'm gonna move this wall.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Right, and and everything in here is now for you,
- 4:15Speaker 2: for you, babe, right, but everything in here is now
- 4:18Speaker 2: my space.
- 4:19Speaker 3: So well, you don't have to say that. I wouldn't
- 4:20Speaker 3: say it like that. I would say for you, babe,
- 4:23Speaker 3: I'm gonna move the washer dryer and then just just
- 4:26Speaker 3: because I never liked this wall, and move.
- 4:29Speaker 1: It even though I'm the one that put the wall up.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Oh you put the wall up? Yeah, Oh, well you
- 4:36Speaker 3: need to get rid of it. I'm happy though you're
- 4:38Speaker 3: living in your dream.
- 4:39Speaker 1: I'm living my dream. Look. People buy cars, people buy
- 4:43Speaker 1: fucking you.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Don't have to justify your hobby, bro.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I buy Star Wars memorabilia and stop motion stuff and anime.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Listen if it makes you happy, But.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Then why are you so sad. Don't feel that bad
- 5:04Speaker 1: if it makes you happy.
- 5:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean there's people. Everyone has hobbies that they
- 5:09Speaker 3: love doing. This thing is your favorite thing in the world.
- 5:12Speaker 3: I don't think you should have any justification for it.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Why are you so sad?
- 5:16Speaker 3: Daniel loves to play video games? He got me? Did
- 5:20Speaker 3: he just still play video games?
- 5:22Speaker 5: Of course?
- 5:24Speaker 4: Do you?
- 5:24Speaker 3: You don't stream anymore? You just you just play it
- 5:27Speaker 3: plays for himself. Now, Joelle, do you still play video games?
- 5:31Speaker 4: Oh?
- 5:31Speaker 5: Yeah, all the time. I love video games. A big
- 5:34Speaker 5: SIMS four kick right now, It's delightful.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Oh houses, Wait why SIMS is Films for the latest.
- 5:42Speaker 5: SIMS four is the latest. They just announced the ten
- 5:46Speaker 5: year anniversary, and they've just announced they will not be
- 5:48Speaker 5: releasing a SIMS five, which I find very interesting.
- 5:51Speaker 6: They're going to wait expanded been around.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Wait, SIMS has been around way longer than for ten years, though.
- 5:58Speaker 5: This is the anniversary SIMS for the specific game.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Yes, is it still like the classic SIMS? I mean like,
- 6:08Speaker 3: I mean I used to play the like old school.
- 6:11Speaker 2: You can still when we lived in when we lived
- 6:14Speaker 2: in that apartment together in New York City, we would
- 6:16Speaker 2: play SIMS.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Really I figured out really that the best way to
- 6:21Speaker 3: crush fast was just save enough money for a hot tub,
- 6:26Speaker 3: and then I would put the hot tub in the
- 6:27Speaker 3: living room, and it solved a lot of your problems
- 6:30Speaker 3: because your friends would come over, but you could bathe,
- 6:34Speaker 3: you would get rest, you could meet men, you know,
- 6:38Speaker 3: you could meet friends and girlfriends, and robbers couldn't steal
- 6:43Speaker 3: it. It was too big.
- 6:45Speaker 6: You know, it's just pretty convenient.
- 6:47Speaker 3: They I recommend, if you're a SIMMS player, just put
- 6:50Speaker 3: a hot tub in the house, and then I just
- 6:52Speaker 3: put in the living room.
- 6:56Speaker 1: But you needed a TV.
- 6:58Speaker 2: You know what sucked about the SIMS is that you
- 7:00Speaker 2: know a food processor? Why because you couldn't cook it
- 7:04Speaker 2: put out the food price.
- 7:05Speaker 1: You needed to freaking reget that.
- 7:06Speaker 6: Things so easy now.
- 7:12Speaker 3: I feel like if I go down a SIMS wormhole,
- 7:14Speaker 3: I will never get anything done.
- 7:16Speaker 5: I have to be honest. I have to feel like
- 7:18Speaker 5: you have to stop playing the SIMS. On the weekend,
- 7:20Speaker 5: They're like, this is this is out, We're veering an
- 7:22Speaker 5: hour four You've built this house, uh, and there's just
- 7:25Speaker 5: no time.
- 7:25Speaker 3: That's why I'm I distract myself. I distract myself. I
- 7:29Speaker 3: want a productive hobby, like learning the piano or Donald's
- 7:33Speaker 3: learning animation. I feel like with the SIMS, I would
- 7:35Speaker 3: just sit there for hours, being like another hot tub
- 7:37Speaker 3: in another room.
- 7:40Speaker 6: The satisfaction is worth the ease. Oh man.
- 7:42Speaker 5: If I'm tense and like really under a lot of pressure,
- 7:44Speaker 5: I'm like, let me go build my dream house. And well,
- 7:47Speaker 5: by the end of it, you just feel accomplished. You
- 7:48Speaker 5: haven't done anything, really, but you feel accomplished. You're like,
- 7:50Speaker 5: what kind of immaculate my home is amazing?
- 7:54Speaker 4: That's why I plan.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Yeah, that's nice. I mean that I miss being into
- 7:58Speaker 3: a good video game.
- 7:59Speaker 1: I used to be a folkesperson for the SIMS back
- 8:01Speaker 1: in the day.
- 8:02Speaker 3: Really really, yeah.
- 8:03Speaker 1: I did a whole commercial and everything.
- 8:06Speaker 4: That's fun.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I wanted to mention everyone I did. Johnny c McGinley,
- 8:11Speaker 3: our friend in Doctor Cox, has a podcast called Connective
- 8:14Speaker 3: Tissue where he talks just about like the creative folks
- 8:20Speaker 3: and you know how they work, whether it's an actor
- 8:22Speaker 3: or writer, director, artist, painter or whatever. And he's got
- 8:25Speaker 3: some really interesting guests so far. And he asked me
- 8:28Speaker 3: to be honest, I did it. So if you want
- 8:30Speaker 3: to hear me and Johnny shoot the shit about being actors,
- 8:35Speaker 3: It's called connective tissue and you can find it wherever
- 8:39Speaker 3: you get your podcasts.
- 8:41Speaker 1: What's up with the drumsticks? Bro?
- 8:44Speaker 3: Well, I have a drum city here. I have a
- 8:46Speaker 3: basic drum set, and on my to do list was
- 8:49Speaker 3: to take some drum lessons, and I was I went
- 8:52Speaker 3: to rock. You know, they have School of Rock here,
- 8:55Speaker 3: and you know it's for kids, but the kids during
- 8:58Speaker 3: the day they're in school. So I head up the
- 9:01Speaker 3: demandager and I was like, hey, can I come take
- 9:04Speaker 3: drum lessons at School of Rock when the kids are
- 9:06Speaker 3: in school, because like, my place must be empty? And
- 9:08Speaker 3: he's like, of course, bro, And so I went there.
- 9:12Speaker 3: I've had a handful lessons and he's just fucking teaching
- 9:15Speaker 3: me drums at School of Rock and we're the only
- 9:17Speaker 3: people in there.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Are you getting good?
- 9:20Speaker 3: I got a few beats, but I would like to
- 9:22Speaker 3: get better?
- 9:23Speaker 1: Okay, I like that.
- 9:24Speaker 3: When I get good, I'll do a performance for you
- 9:27Speaker 3: and the podcast. That sounds great.
- 9:30Speaker 1: I mean it doesn't, but okay, wow, wow, Why is
- 9:35Speaker 1: it you hater?
- 9:37Speaker 4: H Why?
- 9:38Speaker 2: I just know what beginner drummers sound like when they
- 9:42Speaker 2: just start and drums.
- 9:44Speaker 3: You know, I know a few beats I'm just trying to.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Do you do know a few beats. That's true. Yeah,
- 9:49Speaker 1: So what have you been up to, bro?
- 9:51Speaker 4: What do you mean?
- 9:52Speaker 3: I've been getting in shape? I really I I went
- 9:55Speaker 3: to it was in Stockholm, and I was in Paris,
- 9:57Speaker 3: and I was in New York and I was I
- 9:59Speaker 3: was eating wonderful food and drinking lots of red wine.
- 10:04Speaker 3: And now I'm in l A doing what people do
- 10:06Speaker 3: in LA and dropping the weight and getting in shape.
- 10:10Speaker 3: I took a tennis lesson. I'm doing hot yoga. I
- 10:14Speaker 3: got back with my trainer. I stopped eating like a dickhead,
- 10:19Speaker 3: and the weight's falling off of me. High yoga is
- 10:21Speaker 3: so good man. I recommend it to anybody if you're
- 10:24Speaker 3: an anxious person whose mind is very busy and you
- 10:27Speaker 3: want to drop some weight. It kills two birds with
- 10:29Speaker 3: one stone.
- 10:32Speaker 1: And you don't mind being uncomfortable.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Well, you go in. It's uncomfortable, but it feels so good.
- 10:36Speaker 3: You go in there and it's fucking hot as hell,
- 10:38Speaker 3: and you stretch and you do yoga. It's not very
- 10:40Speaker 3: hard yoga where I go. It's just it's just the basics.
- 10:43Speaker 3: And then uh, you come out of there and you
- 10:46Speaker 3: feel so high. It's just natural.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Are you doing it in a are you doing it
- 10:51Speaker 2: in a like a like a in a valley spot
- 10:53Speaker 2: or are you going someplace?
- 10:55Speaker 7: No?
- 10:55Speaker 3: I go and I go and wiho. But there's just
- 10:57Speaker 3: a it's it's it's really amazing. It's like go during
- 11:00Speaker 3: the morning. Is not a lot of people there. And
- 11:03Speaker 3: I recommend if you but if you've never done yoga before,
- 11:05Speaker 3: maybe go do to some basic yoga class that isn't
- 11:08Speaker 3: in the heat, so you so you get like the
- 11:10Speaker 3: basic moves. Nothing is nothing I'm doing is advanced. It's
- 11:12Speaker 3: just basic shit. And then go do hot yoga and
- 11:15Speaker 3: you sweat, you lose like a couple pounds of sweat.
- 11:19Speaker 3: But when you come out and not only have you
- 11:20Speaker 3: stretched your whole body and quiet in your mind, you
- 11:23Speaker 3: just you feel extraordinary. I really highly recommend it. I
- 11:27Speaker 3: gotta tell you, man, And did you ever come to
- 11:29Speaker 3: that with me?
- 11:30Speaker 1: No? I do not like hot yoga at all. Right,
- 11:32Speaker 1: I have.
- 11:34Speaker 2: I did it with an next girlfriend once and we
- 11:37Speaker 2: are that's why we broke up. The thing is wow, Yeah,
- 11:40Speaker 2: I am very judgmental.
- 11:42Speaker 3: There's the counterpoint everyone, there's a counter very yeah.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Anyway, So.
- 11:47Speaker 2: I the thing that I do like about working out.
- 11:51Speaker 2: I hate working out now, but what feels so good
- 11:55Speaker 2: is the feeling after.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Yeah, you've just completed working out.
- 12:00Speaker 2: That's what you work out for, you know, they say
- 12:01Speaker 2: find the silver linings and stuff like that. I hate
- 12:04Speaker 2: fucking working out now. I used to love it. Now
- 12:06Speaker 2: I hate it. You know what I love now that
- 12:09Speaker 2: before your feeling after Oh yeah, you can't beat that
- 12:13Speaker 2: with a baseball back now, no matter what you do.
- 12:15Speaker 3: Like, that's longer than five minutes. Come on, you feel
- 12:19Speaker 3: good for.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Yeah, but then yeah, but life comes back into play.
- 12:22Speaker 2: You know, you have that five minutes of ah, well,
- 12:26Speaker 2: you're trying to rest and then you know your worries
- 12:28Speaker 2: come back eventually.
- 12:29Speaker 1: But that one, that that little bit.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Of time where you're just like focused on the fact
- 12:34Speaker 2: that you're tired and that you worked hard and that
- 12:37Speaker 2: you finished it and that your and your body's pulsating.
- 12:40Speaker 1: That is so much more rewarding now to me than
- 12:46Speaker 1: actually working out.
- 12:47Speaker 3: I enjoy certain workouts. I enjoyed playing tennis. I enjoy yoga.
- 12:52Speaker 3: I enjoy going on a hike, listening to listening to
- 12:56Speaker 3: a book on tape or or a podcast. I like that.
- 13:01Speaker 2: I'm trying to enjoy feeling uncomfortable again, and that's very hard,
- 13:04Speaker 2: you know what I mean. Like, I used to really
- 13:07Speaker 2: enjoy the feeling of being uncomfortable when I worked out.
- 13:10Speaker 1: I like that I'm alive aha, and.
- 13:13Speaker 2: I'm having a hard time doing that Now Now it's like,
- 13:15Speaker 2: fuck man, I'm so uncomfortable.
- 13:17Speaker 1: It's so sweaty.
- 13:17Speaker 3: What about I used to like boxing a lot.
- 13:20Speaker 2: That's how I'm getting back in shape. I got a
- 13:22Speaker 2: guy that comes over here. We go up how many times?
- 13:26Speaker 1: Three times a week? Well, that's good, and then I'll.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Hike or I'll ride my peloton or something like that.
- 13:34Speaker 2: You know, I got to tell you I do, and
- 13:36Speaker 2: I do like the art of boxing.
- 13:37Speaker 5: Now.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Before it was just swinging and trying to I'm gonna
- 13:40Speaker 2: fuck somebody up one day. I'm gonna use this a
- 13:42Speaker 2: fuck somebody up. Now it's about trying to position my
- 13:44Speaker 2: body properly so that everything is a flow. So it's
- 13:48Speaker 2: you know, Bruce Lee has that documentary be like water.
- 13:52Speaker 1: If you can, if you if you can move your.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Body and your feet properly, everything flows from the core
- 13:59Speaker 2: and itself and it's so much more powerful.
- 14:01Speaker 1: And I do enjoy that about boxing?
- 14:03Speaker 3: More importantly, are you going to come to Vegas with me?
- 14:07Speaker 1: I want to go to Vegas really bad. Oh great,
- 14:10Speaker 1: here's the thing.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Here's I'm trying to. Here's a Joel and Daniel. I
- 14:13Speaker 3: tried to put a little Vegas one night in Vegas
- 14:16Speaker 3: trip together for Donald and some friends, and and Casey
- 14:21Speaker 3: are ruminating about saying yes, which is a big step.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Here here's here's here's the thing that I worry about
- 14:28Speaker 2: the next day, the very next day. Yeah, I have
- 14:33Speaker 2: my special effects guys coming over and we're supposed to
- 14:36Speaker 2: do a bunch of stuff with the motion control rigs.
- 14:39Speaker 1: So if you can promise.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Me that we can go to and this has been
- 14:42Speaker 2: scheduled for a while, we'll go and then be back
- 14:45Speaker 2: the next day.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Because I got this is important to me.
- 14:47Speaker 3: Of course we'll be back the next day. No one
- 14:49Speaker 3: likes a second night in Vegas.
- 14:51Speaker 1: I'm not built for it anymore. Bro.
- 14:53Speaker 3: As Bill Lawrence one said, I've never had a good
- 14:56Speaker 3: second night in Vegas. My new thing is I like
- 15:02Speaker 3: to go have an amazing meal, like epic amazing meal,
- 15:07Speaker 3: and then play some blackjack with my friends, maybe see
- 15:11Speaker 3: a show.
- 15:12Speaker 1: What you want to see.
- 15:14Speaker 3: I don't know something, Surcy.
- 15:16Speaker 1: You want to you want to see us, Surley.
- 15:20Speaker 3: I don't know. My favorite thing. My favorite thing is
- 15:24Speaker 3: to see magic. But I've seen a lot of the
- 15:26Speaker 3: magic shows, and and David Blaine, who I want to see,
- 15:29Speaker 3: isn't doing magic. Mike Yet, you know who's there there
- 15:35Speaker 3: the night we're going Do you think Donald and are
- 15:38Speaker 3: going to go see magic? Mike? Come on? I mean
- 15:41Speaker 3: if the magic we could be hidden? Donald, do you
- 15:47Speaker 3: want to you know.
- 15:49Speaker 1: There?
- 15:49Speaker 3: No, but you know who's going to be there playing
- 15:51Speaker 3: the night we're going to be there, Lionel Richie. Let's
- 15:55Speaker 3: go say you say it together?
- 16:00Speaker 1: Say it for always. Oh, that's the way it should be.
- 16:04Speaker 3: I wonder if during the show and he sings hello,
- 16:06Speaker 3: if they showed the video of him with the blind sculptor.
- 16:12Speaker 1: This is how I see you.
- 16:18Speaker 3: I tried to buy Donald the statue, but he didn't
- 16:20Speaker 3: want it. There's a guy, there's a guy online who
- 16:24Speaker 3: makes them.
- 16:25Speaker 1: I could see it in your eyes.
- 16:27Speaker 3: He said, no, I'm gonna get that for you guys.
- 16:31Speaker 3: That's going to be your holiday President Joel and Daniel.
- 16:33Speaker 3: Donald's already said he doesn't want one. Joel you don't
- 16:37Speaker 3: want to long Richie from Hello, the video is hell
- 16:41Speaker 3: one is.
- 16:42Speaker 6: Well, it's purely about space at this point, exactly.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Is Hello to one? Where he goes, I could see
- 16:49Speaker 1: it in your eyes.
- 16:50Speaker 3: I can see it in your eyes. I can see
- 16:52Speaker 3: it in your smile. Donald, We could see lowd Richie,
- 16:57Speaker 3: we could see magic. We could see circus. So lay.
- 17:00Speaker 3: I love a good Vegas show.
- 17:02Speaker 1: I really want to see that Michael Jackson Circus so late.
- 17:04Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lie. I've seen I've seen a lot
- 17:07Speaker 1: of them.
- 17:08Speaker 3: There's a lot of good magic shows, but I've seen it.
- 17:10Speaker 3: We could go see Penn and Teller.
- 17:12Speaker 1: I do like pen and you know what.
- 17:14Speaker 2: The last time I saw Penn and Teller I was
- 17:16Speaker 2: a kid. I would love to go. Yeah, man, I
- 17:19Speaker 2: would love to go see them.
- 17:20Speaker 3: Okay, we could do that. The Eagles are at the
- 17:24Speaker 3: Sphere Eagles, Eagles, But I don't want to go to
- 17:28Speaker 3: the score. You've never been fear It's fun. No, I
- 17:31Speaker 3: don't think you want to see Eagles?
- 17:33Speaker 4: Why?
- 17:35Speaker 1: Why not? What's wrong with the Eagles.
- 17:37Speaker 3: The Eagles are great. I just don't know that. If
- 17:38Speaker 3: I have one night in Vegas, I want to go
- 17:40Speaker 3: to an Eagles concert.
- 17:41Speaker 1: You don't want to see a hotel California.
- 17:43Speaker 3: The line, well, you got to see the sphere, dude,
- 17:46Speaker 3: with some of your favorite.
- 17:47Speaker 1: When come on.
- 17:49Speaker 3: You would love it.
- 17:51Speaker 1: But you can't smoke in the sphere. They say you can't.
- 17:53Speaker 3: You definitely in the sphere, but you can smoke outside
- 17:55Speaker 3: the sphere. Smoke out Shine just wants show.
- 18:00Speaker 5: Just rape in the sphere.
- 18:01Speaker 6: Who's gonna snitch?
- 18:02Speaker 5: It's gonna take like you can't every concert I go to.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Now, No, Joel, you don't understand the sphere like they will.
- 18:08Speaker 3: You'll be out of there in two seconds. It's they
- 18:09Speaker 3: don't funk around.
- 18:12Speaker 6: Ship not all cool like the l A people at
- 18:15Speaker 6: the stadium. Whatever, it's not.
- 18:21Speaker 3: It's not. It's not as huge as you think. I
- 18:23Speaker 3: mean it's huge, don't get me wrong, but a lot
- 18:25Speaker 3: of that is not seating. The sphere is enormous, but
- 18:28Speaker 3: the amount of seats in it aren't that crazy. So
- 18:31Speaker 3: they see your ass, they be like, Joel, get the
- 18:33Speaker 3: fuck out.
- 18:39Speaker 6: I called out specifically my.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Name, Joel Monique. We know you're down to get down.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Get the funk out.
- 18:47Speaker 6: I hate getting in trouble. It would be awful I'm like.
- 18:49Speaker 3: Oh no, yeah, I hate getting trouble. So I told
- 18:51Speaker 3: you the story about how I got arrested and put
- 18:53Speaker 3: in in New Jersey Devil's Jail, being wasted as a child.
- 19:01Speaker 3: I told that story in the podcast. Yeah they put
- 19:03Speaker 3: me in the they put me in the slammer, in
- 19:05Speaker 3: the New Jersey Devil Slammer. I started crying. Oh my,
- 19:13Speaker 3: I had never been I had never been in jail before.
- 19:16Speaker 3: My first jail was New Jersey Devil's Jail.
- 19:22Speaker 4: Jail.
- 19:23Speaker 3: It was a good starter jail. My mom had to
- 19:26Speaker 3: come pick me up. It was so embarrassing what she
- 19:29Speaker 3: was like, don't say a word. Absolutely, And you know,
- 19:34Speaker 3: I understand. I was a good kid. I was a
- 19:37Speaker 3: good kid. I did not get in trouble. And my
- 19:39Speaker 3: mom got a call on like a fucking week weekend
- 19:43Speaker 3: day at like whatever, four o'clock, like hello, man, whatever
- 19:50Speaker 3: it was. It was afternoon game on the weekends, and
- 19:52Speaker 3: my mom got a call like, Hi, your son is
- 19:56Speaker 3: ship faced at Brendan Burn Arena. We haven't in New
- 20:00Speaker 3: Jersey Devil's Jail. You just couldn't get his ass. And
- 20:06Speaker 3: my mom, she I never saw her so mad, but
- 20:09Speaker 3: she she definitely did that. She didn't say a word
- 20:12Speaker 3: the whole ride home from brandon Burn Arena. Then she
- 20:17Speaker 3: brought on the rash at home. She did to come
- 20:25Speaker 3: sign me out of fucking New Jersey Devil's jail.
- 20:29Speaker 1: The jail's right next to the samboni. That's the fun.
- 20:33Speaker 3: It was so embarrassing. Oh my god, you do not
- 20:35Speaker 3: want to be signed out in New Jersey Devil's jail
- 20:37Speaker 3: by your mom. Mind you mind you mind you. Not
- 20:42Speaker 3: only was I crying, but I was still fucking hammered. No, no,
- 20:54Speaker 3: they made me do it.
- 20:55Speaker 6: Did you drink of choice that night?
- 20:57Speaker 3: I'm sure it was beer. We would just like, you know,
- 21:00Speaker 3: we couldn't get beers in the stadium, so we would
- 21:02Speaker 3: be we would be in the car, like huddled up
- 21:04Speaker 3: in an suv, just pounding like the cheapest beer, meister
- 21:07Speaker 3: Brow or whatever the cheapest beer was. And then we'd
- 21:10Speaker 3: be hammered. And then we'd stumble into the like the boonies,
- 21:13Speaker 3: like the last fucking row in Brendan Burnerina whatever it's
- 21:16Speaker 3: called these days, I don't know. And uh, and then
- 21:20Speaker 3: I went I remember, I went to go get a snack.
- 21:22Speaker 3: I was like, I need a snack. And then I
- 21:25Speaker 3: remember out of a movie. I stumbled and my wallet dropped,
- 21:29Speaker 3: and I went to go down and get my wallet,
- 21:31Speaker 3: and then I saw two sets of boots, Wells and boots,
- 21:42Speaker 3: and the camera, the camera slowly tilted up to reveal
- 21:46Speaker 3: Brendan Burn Arena security and they're like, you're coming with us,
- 21:51Speaker 3: You're drunk, And I'm like, what a you sucking about?
- 21:54Speaker 3: I was like, come on, Fellas.
- 21:55Speaker 6: Goodness no, I was like, come on, Fellas.
- 22:00Speaker 5: No heavier was like ever Clear and four Local, Oh
- 22:11Speaker 5: my god, a disaster, you guys were.
- 22:15Speaker 6: Ever Clear was cheap and four Loco was easy to
- 22:17Speaker 6: get a hill.
- 22:18Speaker 3: We used to get forties too. We would just drink
- 22:20Speaker 3: whatever we get our hands on.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I remember.
- 22:22Speaker 2: I remember when I was drinking underage with my buddy
- 22:25Speaker 2: Frederico from the neighborhood, and we would be out la.
- 22:28Speaker 1: I don't think I was under age, but I wasn't.
- 22:30Speaker 1: I wasn't. I was out of high school, but I
- 22:32Speaker 1: wasn't twenty one yet, and we would drink this thing
- 22:35Speaker 1: called Cisco. You ever heard of Cisco?
- 22:38Speaker 3: No?
- 22:39Speaker 1: No, right, So Cisco was like this, It was like this.
- 22:42Speaker 2: It was liquor, but it was like and it wasn't
- 22:45Speaker 2: a malt liquor, but and it came in flavors and
- 22:47Speaker 2: stuff like that. And later on we found out that
- 22:50Speaker 2: had like lighter fluid in it and ship like that.
- 22:53Speaker 2: But we would get wasted off.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Of a ship, right.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Cisco, Cisco the War the Nasty. Look it up, Cisco.
- 23:02Speaker 2: I think it's even spelled like the fucking singer?
- 23:05Speaker 3: What was Cisco? The singer's hit song Thong song? Oh,
- 23:09Speaker 3: the thong song that was a masterpiece.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Well, he liked it when the beat go?
- 23:13Speaker 3: Why did he love thongs so much?
- 23:15Speaker 1: Because it makes the booty go?
- 23:16Speaker 7: But but.
- 23:18Speaker 3: He really, I really love thongs.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Well when it makes the booty go.
- 23:26Speaker 3: What's the lyric? Thong the dongdong tong? Everybody?
- 23:31Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no no no.
- 23:35Speaker 3: What the lyrics?
- 23:36Speaker 1: What tho song? Are you?
- 23:38Speaker 3: As I remembered, it's like thong, the dongdong thong. Everybody
- 23:42Speaker 3: loves a thong.
- 23:49Speaker 4: What's the next lyric?
- 23:50Speaker 3: You know that?
- 23:50Speaker 1: What happens after that? What happens after that?
- 23:53Speaker 3: Don't wear no booty shorts? You gotta give me a thong.
- 23:58Speaker 3: All I love is a thong. The thong, the dong
- 24:01Speaker 3: dong kong get it up in that crack thong dong
- 24:06Speaker 3: thong thong ye.
- 24:08Speaker 1: That's it?
- 24:09Speaker 3: What is the real lyric?
- 24:10Speaker 8: Like?
- 24:11Speaker 2: Because I like it when the booty go baby make
- 24:14Speaker 2: the booty gong don dumdong.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Where's that coming from. I don't think that's the lyrics there.
- 24:23Speaker 6: Yeah, he's singing the musical part.
- 24:25Speaker 1: That's what he goes.
- 24:25Speaker 2: I like it when the booty baby make the booty
- 24:28Speaker 2: gong don dundong.
- 24:34Speaker 9: Let me that.
- 24:49Speaker 3: I never heard that before.
- 24:50Speaker 4: That's deep in the background.
- 24:52Speaker 3: Wow, he loves thongs, that guy.
- 24:53Speaker 6: That's did you listen to this song?
- 24:55Speaker 3: I was gonna say, damn sung that before?
- 25:00Speaker 2: Yo would make a musical based on the Thong song.
- 25:03Speaker 2: When that song came out, I didn't even like Cisco,
- 25:09Speaker 2: but I love that song.
- 25:10Speaker 1: For some reason.
- 25:12Speaker 3: Do you love thongs?
- 25:14Speaker 1: I mean, all right, but.
- 25:15Speaker 2: That song for some reason that because I was laughing,
- 25:20Speaker 2: you would laugh so hard at those don't speak those man,
- 25:26Speaker 2: he's singing hardcore.
- 25:28Speaker 3: He if I was a woman. You're yelling, bro, you're yelling, yelling.
- 25:37Speaker 3: I don't have to turn this down, so I don't
- 25:38Speaker 3: have to turn that.
- 25:39Speaker 1: I like the way you do your thing. Tell me,
- 25:45Speaker 1: all right, that's cisco. I know that's too much, Joe,
- 25:49Speaker 1: exactly what the I'm talking about.
- 25:52Speaker 6: Sounds beautiful, rendition, Donald and I respect him.
- 25:55Speaker 3: You're saying he's very passionate about thongs. I agree, he
- 25:58Speaker 3: loves the ship out of some thongs. I don't understand
- 26:00Speaker 3: why women wear a thong. It feels like it would
- 26:02Speaker 3: really annoy your inner crack. Maybe it's more freeing. I mean, yes,
- 26:10Speaker 3: it's just so like the Is it just so that,
- 26:13Speaker 3: Joelle that the you don't see lines on the on
- 26:16Speaker 3: the outfit.
- 26:18Speaker 6: Many women are just like, hey, I don't like a pantelion.
- 26:21Speaker 7: Uh.
- 26:21Speaker 5: Some are like it's sexy, right, you know, lots of
- 26:24Speaker 5: reasons people were thought.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Let me ask you a question, Zach.
- 26:27Speaker 2: You are if you are with a young lady, yes,
- 26:31Speaker 2: and she takes off her clothes, yes, and she has
- 26:36Speaker 2: a thong on, or she has you know, regular underwear on.
- 26:41Speaker 4: Right.
- 26:41Speaker 3: Well, there's many different other types, but yes, a different
- 26:44Speaker 3: type than the thong.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Yes, right, Asking yourself right now, which would would you graduate?
- 26:51Speaker 1: A gradvitate too?
- 26:53Speaker 3: Truthfully, I don't.
- 26:55Speaker 4: I I.
- 26:59Speaker 3: Think I think there's other types of underwear.
- 27:02Speaker 1: I motherfucker just say the thong.
- 27:06Speaker 3: Dude, just say no, that's your preference. I'm trying to
- 27:08Speaker 3: give you the honest answer. You want me to say
- 27:10Speaker 3: the thong because of Cisco and his fucking hot ass song. No,
- 27:13Speaker 3: listen to me. I think there's other types of underwear
- 27:16Speaker 3: that I would prefer to it.
- 27:17Speaker 1: Thought, but none of them make the booty go dead.
- 27:23Speaker 3: That's true. That's do we have?
- 27:29Speaker 7: All?
- 27:29Speaker 5: Right?
- 27:29Speaker 3: Let this count seven stories?
- 27:33Speaker 10: I'm not sure we made about a bunch of docs
- 27:38Speaker 10: and nurses. He said, he's the stories net, so YadA here.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Yeah, let's get right to it, Rick Glass, Did you
- 27:58Speaker 2: actually play basketball with Lebron James growing up?
- 28:03Speaker 1: No? Did you play with Kyrie Irvan growing up?
- 28:06Speaker 4: No?
- 28:08Speaker 3: Get so good at basketball? Because you are good at basketball,
- 28:11Speaker 3: are you not?
- 28:12Speaker 4: Yeah? So first, yes, I played with Lebron. We like
- 28:14Speaker 4: to dive right in here. There we go, So you're lying.
- 28:19Speaker 3: Were you better than Lebron?
- 28:21Speaker 4: I mean probably when I was born, because I'm a
- 28:23Speaker 4: year older than him.
- 28:26Speaker 3: Wait, tell us the playing Lebron story.
- 28:28Speaker 4: Yeah. The reason I said no was because I've mentioned
- 28:32Speaker 4: I've played against Lebron because it's cool and I've talked
- 28:34Speaker 4: about it sometimes. But now like other people talk about it.
- 28:37Speaker 4: And people will come up to me and like if
- 28:39Speaker 4: I'm in a group, and they'll be like, oh, it
- 28:40Speaker 4: is Rick bragging about how we played against Lebron and
- 28:43Speaker 4: like other people are talking about it.
- 28:44Speaker 3: Well, our audience hasn't heard the story. Likely Rick, they
- 28:48Speaker 3: follow me za some of them do. I'm sure some
- 28:51Speaker 3: of them do. Who like funny comedians. Rick is a
- 28:54Speaker 3: very if you don't know who Rick is, he's a
- 28:56Speaker 3: very funny comedian and he's a very funny actor. And
- 29:00Speaker 3: are you reading this man? Yeah, I'm reading this and
- 29:03Speaker 3: just says it is a very funny comedian as a
- 29:06Speaker 3: very good actor. No, this is all improv. And then
- 29:08Speaker 3: Rick also has a very popular podcast called Take your
- 29:12Speaker 3: Shoes Off? What is it called?
- 29:13Speaker 4: That's it?
- 29:14Speaker 3: Yeah, and as a fascinating story and a big connection
- 29:17Speaker 3: to Bill Lawrence. But I just want to start where
- 29:19Speaker 3: Donald started because I was surprised to know that you
- 29:23Speaker 3: are very good at basketball. It doesn't seem you don't
- 29:26Speaker 3: strike me as someone.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Because his last name is Glassman.
- 29:30Speaker 3: Well, I'm going to say we Jewish folk, there's always
- 29:33Speaker 3: been a stereotype that were not necessarily great at sports.
- 29:36Speaker 3: If you remember the joke in the movie Airplane. He says,
- 29:39Speaker 3: would you like some of the stewardess says, would you
- 29:41Speaker 3: like some light reading? How about this pamphlet on famous
- 29:44Speaker 3: Jews and sports. But Rick defies the stereotype because Rick
- 29:53Speaker 3: is apparently very good at basketball. Go ahead, Rick, is
- 29:56Speaker 3: there a question? When did you get good at basketball?
- 30:01Speaker 3: And are do you still play? And did you play
- 30:02Speaker 3: Lebron good?
- 30:03Speaker 4: Yeah, you got it. I'll take it from here. Boys.
- 30:05Speaker 4: So I started playing basketball in high school because I
- 30:10Speaker 4: ended up having to go to like this special school
- 30:12Speaker 4: for troubled boys or girls. And I was really embarrassed
- 30:17Speaker 4: about it. And when I came back, I came back
- 30:21Speaker 4: to school, I was gone for eighth grade and half
- 30:23Speaker 4: of ninth grade, and in our school, eighth grade is
- 30:25Speaker 4: where high school started. And I was really embarrassed. And
- 30:29Speaker 4: when I came back for half days, somebody shout out
- 30:33Speaker 4: to Tim gilmour by the way asked if I played basketball,
- 30:36Speaker 4: and I said yes, just because I wanted to be
- 30:37Speaker 4: included in something. So I just started playing with people
- 30:41Speaker 4: and it was kind of my only social network. I
- 30:44Speaker 4: played magic the Gathering on Friday nights, and then I
- 30:48Speaker 4: didn't really have a social network outside of those random
- 30:51Speaker 4: people at this card store. Basketball kind of gave me that,
- 30:54Speaker 4: so I really kind of obsessed over it. At the time,
- 30:57Speaker 4: I didn't realize it, but I think what I obsessed
- 30:59Speaker 4: over was being included. And then I just kept playing
- 31:02Speaker 4: because I'm allowed to play with people. And then I
- 31:04Speaker 4: just kind of got addicted to it, and I didn't
- 31:08Speaker 4: play much in high school and then college. Kind of
- 31:11Speaker 4: my sophomore year, I got relative to my ceiling really good,
- 31:17Speaker 4: and I just started playing all the time. And it
- 31:19Speaker 4: was really cool because like I would go to the
- 31:21Speaker 4: gym and people would like, get me first, like we
- 31:24Speaker 4: got Glassmen still does something to me? We got Glassmen
- 31:28Speaker 4: still does.
- 31:29Speaker 3: I was never picked like kickball in like elementary school,
- 31:33Speaker 3: always picked last or second to last.
- 31:36Speaker 4: Why why you think that is because I wasn't good
- 31:38Speaker 4: at sports.
- 31:39Speaker 3: And I even if I was making them laugh, they
- 31:41Speaker 3: were like, yeah, he's gonna make us laugh, but that's fine,
- 31:44Speaker 3: we'll pick him last because he's gonna be here making
- 31:45Speaker 3: us laugh either way. Whenever team he's on, he's not
- 31:47Speaker 3: going to kick the ball very far.
- 31:49Speaker 4: Well, is that give me one second.
- 31:50Speaker 1: I gotta be honest with you guys.
- 31:52Speaker 2: I would be upset if I got picked third, I'd
- 31:55Speaker 2: be pissed off.
- 31:56Speaker 4: I was just going to ask who you're a good
- 31:57Speaker 4: kickball player? I am fucking I bet you Donald's great.
- 32:02Speaker 2: I threw my fucking back out playing kickball with my
- 32:05Speaker 2: kids about two years ago, and I have retired from kickball.
- 32:08Speaker 3: I bet you were really good at dodgeball too, Donald.
- 32:11Speaker 1: I am pretty good at dodgeball as well. Yes, I
- 32:14Speaker 1: can dodge a ball.
- 32:16Speaker 3: I would get pegged in the face and dodgeball.
- 32:19Speaker 1: Not Rick, I had moves.
- 32:21Speaker 4: Rick.
- 32:22Speaker 3: When did you realize that you had the ability to
- 32:24Speaker 3: make people laugh? Because we're similar in a few ways
- 32:28Speaker 3: and we both have O, C, D and UH and
- 32:32Speaker 3: and realized it as a child. And I wondered, did
- 32:36Speaker 3: you at a certain point go this helps me when
- 32:40Speaker 3: I can make my classmates laugh, because that helps me
- 32:43Speaker 3: make friends.
- 32:43Speaker 4: It's a good question, Zach. But before we get into that,
- 32:47Speaker 4: why are you always leaning so much into how bad
- 32:51Speaker 4: you are at stuff?
- 32:54Speaker 3: I'm not? I'm not. I have a I have a
- 32:58Speaker 3: neurosies about wishing I'm better at sports, but I have
- 33:01Speaker 3: nothing other than that.
- 33:02Speaker 4: Well, sports, what about uh? What about movie making? Are
- 33:07Speaker 4: you good at that?
- 33:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm decent at that.
- 33:11Speaker 4: Why I just I don't like the way you've been
- 33:13Speaker 4: talking about yourself.
- 33:14Speaker 3: I was on your podcast. Yeah, you was on your podcast.
- 33:18Speaker 3: It was a great episode.
- 33:19Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, it was. It was. I think you're really great.
- 33:22Speaker 4: I think you'd be really good at dodgeball. Now I
- 33:24Speaker 4: got into making people laugh, Zach, I think you're really special.
- 33:32Speaker 4: You're also so much nicer to me on your podcast
- 33:34Speaker 4: than mine.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Wait a second, what happened? What happened when he was
- 33:38Speaker 1: on your podcast?
- 33:38Speaker 4: Just cut you a clip of him just beating the
- 33:40Speaker 4: shit out of me.
- 33:41Speaker 3: He's we had a lot of fun, but he's exhausting.
- 33:44Speaker 3: And we'll get to that.
- 33:45Speaker 4: There it is, there, it is.
- 33:47Speaker 3: I love Rick. I didn't know certain things about Rick
- 33:51Speaker 3: that we'll get to, but he I loved him always,
- 33:54Speaker 3: but he would drive me fucking nuts. And then we
- 33:56Speaker 3: had a we had a really in depth heart to
- 33:58Speaker 3: heart on his podcast about me realizing why I love
- 34:02Speaker 3: him so much and and why he's so funny. But
- 34:05Speaker 3: we'll get to that.
- 34:06Speaker 2: One of my first one of my first can answer
- 34:10Speaker 2: my question, please?
- 34:11Speaker 1: He did already, didn't he?
- 34:12Speaker 3: No, he didn't. He never. I asked him a very
- 34:14Speaker 3: good question as a podcaster about when he realized he
- 34:17Speaker 3: had a sense of humor that was funny.
- 34:19Speaker 7: Go, you know, I was just a boy in school
- 34:24Speaker 7: who would get a little silly. So time, what do
- 34:26Speaker 7: you want me to say? What do you want to
- 34:27Speaker 7: say that my parents fucked me up or something?
- 34:31Speaker 3: I want to know when you start getting laughs? When
- 34:33Speaker 3: were you like people think I'm funny?
- 34:35Speaker 4: Oh, I could answer. I could answer this a little
- 34:39Speaker 4: bit differently. I never knew how people felt about me
- 34:46Speaker 4: because things were kind of contradictive. Like I wasn't really
- 34:49Speaker 4: included as a kid. That's why I brought the basketball thing.
- 34:52Speaker 4: But at the same time, I wasn't really overtly excluded.
- 34:56Speaker 4: I wasn't like bullied basically until you came on my podcast,
- 35:00Speaker 4: I just wasn't really part of stuff. And like sometimes
- 35:04Speaker 4: even the neighborhood kids like I would go over and
- 35:06Speaker 4: I would play outside with them or something, but then
- 35:08Speaker 4: they would go inside and they would like close the
- 35:10Speaker 4: door and say you're not allowed in. And I never
- 35:12Speaker 4: understood why. And it was always like sometimes people were
- 35:15Speaker 4: nice to me and sometimes they weren't. And I don't
- 35:18Speaker 4: I'm looking at this as an adult now, I don't
- 35:19Speaker 4: think I realized that as a kid. But but like
- 35:22Speaker 4: when I would laugh and when people laugh, that was
- 35:25Speaker 4: something where I feel like you can't fake it. I
- 35:26Speaker 4: still feel that way. I still feel like when people
- 35:30Speaker 4: are laughing, you know, you know, like you know when
- 35:33Speaker 4: it's fake. I talked about this with somebody. I don't
- 35:35Speaker 4: think it was on a podcast. Recently. I saw an
- 35:36Speaker 4: old round table something with Sandler talking about like the
- 35:40Speaker 4: hardest part of acting. I think it was Sandler, and
- 35:41Speaker 4: he said something like the hardest thing you could do
- 35:44Speaker 4: in acting is the fake laugh. He said, he just
- 35:46Speaker 4: can't do it. There's something just genuine about laugh. So
- 35:49Speaker 4: I think I felt validated, not just in making people laugh,
- 35:51Speaker 4: but like, oh, here's me being accepted, even if it's
- 35:54Speaker 4: just for like this five seconds. I also have a
- 35:58Speaker 4: very very funny family. Uh you just we complain, we
- 36:02Speaker 4: call attention of things. We're not easily shamed. So I
- 36:05Speaker 4: think the combination of I.
- 36:07Speaker 3: Met your mom when I was at your house for
- 36:09Speaker 3: your podcast.
- 36:11Speaker 4: Oh yeah, she was. She's here now too, Oh yeah,
- 36:14Speaker 4: but she's watching her stories.
- 36:16Speaker 3: Oh does she watch soaps?
- 36:18Speaker 4: She watches Castle and then cis.
- 36:22Speaker 3: Old school soap operas.
- 36:23Speaker 4: I mean that's what they are now, I know.
- 36:25Speaker 3: But I wish it was General hospital or something.
- 36:28Speaker 4: Children Children was hers and she just had a friend
- 36:34Speaker 4: come over and drop off some clothes for something. And
- 36:36Speaker 4: she goes Zach Brath and Donald the scrubs guys are here,
- 36:41Speaker 4: and she's like, oh, I wish I could watch, but.
- 36:45Speaker 3: She can. She can watch it on YouTube after this
- 36:47Speaker 3: when this airs.
- 36:49Speaker 4: But Donald, do you go ahead?
- 36:50Speaker 6: Zach?
- 36:51Speaker 3: No, No, Donald's turn.
- 36:52Speaker 4: Donald said something and then Zach you got mad at him.
- 36:55Speaker 3: We're so excited that you're here. You're a very funny
- 36:59Speaker 3: standing community.
- 37:00Speaker 1: You know what I forgot?
- 37:01Speaker 2: I remember now, I remember my first time, well it's
- 37:04Speaker 2: not my first time meeting you, but kind of like
- 37:06Speaker 2: one of the first times we were where we kind
- 37:09Speaker 2: of hung out. Was on the set when they did
- 37:11Speaker 2: The Undateable Live. Yes, and what's his name, Bill Lawrence? No,
- 37:18Speaker 2: not that guy that's I'll never forget his name, Ed Sheeran. Yes,
- 37:22Speaker 2: he was on the show.
- 37:23Speaker 3: You forgot Ed Sheeron's name. That guy, Yeah, the Redhead kid,
- 37:27Speaker 3: the Redhead Kid. I want to give the audience some
- 37:29Speaker 3: context for those don't know. Bill Lawrence made a sitcom
- 37:33Speaker 3: called Undtable. Well, Scrubs and amongst his many shows, he
- 37:37Speaker 3: made a suitcme. They ran two seasons right right, called
- 37:39Speaker 3: Undtable three. Three seasons and at a certain point it
- 37:42Speaker 3: became live, like they would air it live on the
- 37:45Speaker 3: East and West coast. They would do two runs of it,
- 37:48Speaker 3: one for the East, one for the West. When did
- 37:49Speaker 3: that happen?
- 37:50Speaker 4: Third season? I think like nobody was. They weren't watching
- 37:53Speaker 4: it enough, so like, what if we do it live?
- 37:55Speaker 4: I don't know. I think you guys did at the
- 37:57Speaker 4: end of season two and it was an hour special
- 37:59Speaker 4: with Ed Sheeran and everybody, and I think that went well.
- 38:02Speaker 4: That finale maybe would have gotten canceled if it weren't
- 38:05Speaker 4: that going well. And then they're like, let's just do
- 38:06Speaker 4: the whole season live.
- 38:08Speaker 3: I had a lot of great comedians on it, and
- 38:10Speaker 3: how did you how did you get the part? Because
- 38:12Speaker 3: how did you get discovered?
- 38:14Speaker 4: To be sure?
- 38:15Speaker 3: On that it was like all stand ups, right.
- 38:18Speaker 4: First cast or stand ups, and then there were a
- 38:19Speaker 4: few non stand ups. Bill had a Bill met with
- 38:25Speaker 4: Brent some afternoon. I remember Brent and I more John Dewell,
- 38:30Speaker 4: Alison Buzmo who ended up writing on Undtable. Brent Moore
- 38:33Speaker 4: than and I. We all lived in the same building,
- 38:35Speaker 4: and I was coincidentally watching Scrubs again. I loved to show.
- 38:38Speaker 4: I grew up. I was so young when it came out,
- 38:41Speaker 4: and I grew up watching it and I really loved it.
- 38:42Speaker 4: I was a little baby when it first came out,
- 38:45Speaker 4: and I grew up looking up to you guys and.
- 38:49Speaker 3: Saying how young you were when you were just insane.
- 38:51Speaker 4: I remember. I remember it because I didn't have any friends,
- 38:54Speaker 4: but I was three years old and you guys are
- 38:55Speaker 4: having the series finale, and I remember it like, these
- 38:58Speaker 4: guys aren't real doctors, but you could tell the real friends,
- 39:00Speaker 4: and that's something that really translated through the screen. So
- 39:04Speaker 4: I was, but also I was I'm a big fan
- 39:06Speaker 4: of the show.
- 39:07Speaker 1: All right, you were so jealous projecting.
- 39:11Speaker 4: So I was watching the show again and Brent came
- 39:15Speaker 4: in and it's like, I have a meeting with the
- 39:17Speaker 4: guy who did Scrubs, and as he said it, I
- 39:19Speaker 4: press pause. In the X ray of Bill Lawrence came
- 39:21Speaker 4: up on the screen. I'm like, Bill Lawrence, that's crazy.
- 39:24Speaker 4: And then Brent invited you guys were living together, same building,
- 39:28Speaker 4: but it was very much like our doors are unlocked.
- 39:30Speaker 4: You just walk into each other's places. He just opened
- 39:32Speaker 4: the door and he's like, I have a cool you know,
- 39:34Speaker 4: you moved to LA and it's like you want to
- 39:36Speaker 4: have a meeting with people, you know, like, oh, I
- 39:38Speaker 4: met this person. Who knows what that means, but it's
- 39:40Speaker 4: just like cool. He is a meeting with the guy
- 39:42Speaker 4: that did Scrubs. And then later that night we all
- 39:48Speaker 4: had a show at the Improv and Bill came to it,
- 39:50Speaker 4: and that's where I met Bill, and Bill met me
- 39:52Speaker 4: and saw Brent do stand up et cetera. And I
- 39:55Speaker 4: knew Bill was in a basketball game, so I said,
- 39:57Speaker 4: I don't know how this is going to happen, but
- 39:59Speaker 4: I want to get in that game. And he gave
- 40:01Speaker 4: me his assistance email and I emailed her once a
- 40:04Speaker 4: week for almost four months, and then she goes, we
- 40:08Speaker 4: have a we have two slots tonight for Brent and me.
- 40:10Speaker 4: And then I got into that game and that was
- 40:12Speaker 4: like that game. I didn't have agents, I didn't have
- 40:17Speaker 4: any I hadn't done anything before. Hey dad, real quick,
- 40:20Speaker 4: you want to see my dad's hair?
- 40:22Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 40:22Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely, I don't think they're you're gonna be able
- 40:25Speaker 4: to hear they're gonna be able to hear it. Look
- 40:27Speaker 4: at that hair. Wow, hi dad, you.
- 40:33Speaker 1: We're a huge fan of your son.
- 40:35Speaker 3: Wow, he does have a big, full head of hair.
- 40:36Speaker 4: Yeah, Zach said he wants to have a little wiener.
- 40:40Speaker 3: He just said, you know, I didn't. Wow, you're the worst.
- 40:46Speaker 3: You're the worst. Well, it means you're gonna have your
- 40:48Speaker 3: hair for your whole life. Your dad's got a big baby.
- 40:50Speaker 4: We'll see. My dad's hairline is like a thumbnail. All right,
- 40:54Speaker 4: But let's see what we talk about. We're talking about
- 40:57Speaker 4: what made me about Bill Lawrence.
- 40:58Speaker 6: You finally got into the game.
- 41:02Speaker 4: Yeah, dad's audio issues. Could you just go in the
- 41:04Speaker 4: other room with.
- 41:04Speaker 3: The mon tell them to go work on Russia. Shana dinner.
- 41:07Speaker 4: Za I said to go Russia, work on Russia Shana dinner,
- 41:10Speaker 4: and Donald said, what's Russia? Shana?
- 41:12Speaker 1: I did not say that.
- 41:14Speaker 3: You got into the game, and how did you perform
- 41:17Speaker 3: in the in the sports competition.
- 41:19Speaker 4: So so, in my mind, what makes me valuable still
- 41:24Speaker 4: but definitely then was being a good basketball player, whether
- 41:28Speaker 4: or not I'm I people think I'm good or not.
- 41:31Speaker 4: Like that's when I started getting friends, That's when I
- 41:33Speaker 4: started feeling confident. That's when people start.
- 41:35Speaker 11: We got glass moon, Like I'm the fucking man, so
- 41:38Speaker 11: like I needed to be I needed to play hard,
- 41:41Speaker 11: and these guys were you know, some people are great
- 41:43Speaker 11: basketball players and some of people are fifty year old
- 41:46Speaker 11: comedy writers.
- 41:47Speaker 4: And I just got I took it very seriously.
- 41:51Speaker 3: And are you trying to impress Bill? You think or
- 41:54Speaker 3: that's just your natural way you play?
- 41:56Speaker 1: Well, I think you.
- 41:57Speaker 4: I think it's a natural way I play. But I
- 41:59Speaker 4: think it's because I'm try to be honest. I think
- 42:01Speaker 4: I don't know if impresses the right word, but I
- 42:03Speaker 4: think it's, like I said, I want to show that
- 42:05Speaker 4: I'm valuable, like I could help people win. Like in
- 42:10Speaker 4: pick up basketball, if you lose, you sit. You never
- 42:12Speaker 4: want to sit forever, right, So the only so you
- 42:15Speaker 4: don't care. I don't care who somebody is. If we
- 42:17Speaker 4: don't have to sit, we want them, you know, So,
- 42:20Speaker 4: like I wasn't thinking about anything else. I remember I
- 42:24Speaker 4: got in a fight with somebody and then Brent called
- 42:28Speaker 4: my attention that like, Rick, you need to chill out,
- 42:31Speaker 4: But Bill said he liked it. I found out later also,
- 42:34Speaker 4: I ended up getting kicked out of that game five
- 42:35Speaker 4: years later another conversation.
- 42:37Speaker 3: Well, no, that's let's go into that conversation because it
- 42:40Speaker 3: proved to be very pivotal in your life. You've shared
- 42:43Speaker 3: this before with other places, but I want our audience
- 42:46Speaker 3: to hear Bill calling you and talking to you became
- 42:49Speaker 3: a sort of a pivotal moment in your life, right, Yeah,
- 42:52Speaker 3: can you share that a bit with people who don't
- 42:53Speaker 3: know the story.
- 42:55Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm in this game for a couple of years.
- 42:58Speaker 4: Even then a Dale comes, so I'm probably in this
- 43:00Speaker 4: game for six or so years before the show. The
- 43:03Speaker 4: show runs three seasons, the show's canceled, We're still playing
- 43:06Speaker 4: for a year or two. So I'm like part of
- 43:08Speaker 4: this game now that's every week. And Bill sent me
- 43:12Speaker 4: an email that said, hey handsome, as he does.
- 43:18Speaker 3: Yes, but a Bill email is not great to get
- 43:20Speaker 3: because he didn't send them off.
- 43:22Speaker 4: No, this was a He opened it up with, hey, handsome,
- 43:25Speaker 4: this is a tough email to send. I remember that
- 43:27Speaker 4: because I ended up writing this short. I made this
- 43:31Speaker 4: thing about it. Joel McHale plays Bill, and his script
- 43:34Speaker 4: is the email from Bill, and it was, hey, hey handsome,
- 43:38Speaker 4: this is a tough email to send. You could tell
- 43:41Speaker 4: me to fuck off if you want, but I think
- 43:44Speaker 4: it might be worth you knowing that there's a few
- 43:46Speaker 4: people in the game that don't show don't want to
- 43:48Speaker 4: show up when you're there. And he gave a list
- 43:51Speaker 4: of reasons, some of which I still disagree with, some
- 43:56Speaker 4: of which makes sense to me, none of which I
- 43:59Speaker 4: remember when I read it, and I was crying. I
- 44:01Speaker 4: remember reading it like whether I agree or not, I
- 44:03Speaker 4: had no idea anyone felt this way about me. The
- 44:08Speaker 4: short that I made, I mean, I guess I'll plug it.
- 44:11Speaker 4: It's on YouTube. It's called I'm Phenomenal. I'm proud of
- 44:13Speaker 4: it because it was a traumatizing moment. Then I turned
- 44:16Speaker 4: into something but like the whole idea was like I
- 44:18Speaker 4: am phenomenal, I'm the best. Everyone wants to play with me.
- 44:22Speaker 4: And then I found out that not only am I
- 44:26Speaker 4: pick last a lot of the time, some guys don't
- 44:29Speaker 4: even show it when I'm there, and I'm like, what
- 44:31Speaker 4: are you talking about? Also, Zach, I don't know if
- 44:35Speaker 4: I told you, but like two weeks before that, I
- 44:37Speaker 4: was kicked out of a poker game that I was
- 44:40Speaker 4: in for a few years for just talking too much
- 44:43Speaker 4: shit and doing too many bits and you would call
- 44:45Speaker 4: it exhausting, and I'm like, Okay, I just got kicked
- 44:49Speaker 4: out of this poker game, and I know they're all wrong,
- 44:52Speaker 4: but like, now I know these guys are wrong, and
- 44:54Speaker 4: how could like thirty people be wrong.
- 44:57Speaker 3: And it was like when someone says, when I have
- 44:59Speaker 3: enough people to tell you to sit down, you're drunk,
- 45:02Speaker 3: you probably should sit down.
- 45:03Speaker 4: Well it really I haven't heard that saying, but yes,
- 45:05Speaker 4: I think that's exactly what it is. And it's something
- 45:08Speaker 4: it's a tool that i've that I've that I've started
- 45:11Speaker 4: to kind of put into practice, even with like podcast stuff,
- 45:15Speaker 4: Like I read comments on my podcast. I scroll through
- 45:19Speaker 4: looking for because people put time stamps of moments that
- 45:22Speaker 4: they like, so like that's where I find clips and
- 45:25Speaker 4: then sometimes I end up reading more than I need to.
- 45:27Speaker 4: And typically the people, at least on my podcast are
- 45:30Speaker 4: they're very nice people. I think there's a lot of
- 45:32Speaker 4: socially awkward people that connect with me and they're just kinder.
- 45:36Speaker 4: But like, when I start to see a pattern of things,
- 45:40Speaker 4: I don't necessarily agree, but I do have to be like, like,
- 45:43Speaker 4: let me look at this. It's something I didn't do before,
- 45:46Speaker 4: and I don't think it's as much as my pride,
- 45:48Speaker 4: as much as I didn't recognize certain things as patterns,
- 45:52Speaker 4: Like getting kicked out of a poker game in a
- 45:55Speaker 4: basketball game is a pattern. But somebody saying I'm being
- 45:58Speaker 4: too loud, and then somebody saying they don't want me
- 45:59Speaker 4: to play basketball with me, I didn't realize maybe those
- 46:01Speaker 4: things are connected. Nobody told me these things. Bill gave
- 46:04Speaker 4: me a list of things that I'm like, Oh, I
- 46:08Speaker 4: didn't think I was like this in basketball, but somebody
- 46:10Speaker 4: else has told me this about other things, and this
- 46:12Speaker 4: and this and this, and he said, like, kind of
- 46:15Speaker 4: the inciting incident to this self discovery of mine was
- 46:18Speaker 4: he's saying, I don't think you realize how people perceive you.
- 46:23Speaker 4: And he was spot on because I never felt like
- 46:26Speaker 4: I don't know how people perceive me. I always felt
- 46:29Speaker 4: like people see me the same way I see me,
- 46:31Speaker 4: which is awesome. You know, like my mom applauds everything
- 46:35Speaker 4: I do. I just am around a loving family, even
- 46:37Speaker 4: when I have a joke on I'd say on stage
- 46:40Speaker 4: now that I didn't know. I found out in my
- 46:42Speaker 4: thirties I didn't have friends. I never knew. I just
- 46:45Speaker 4: thought everybody was busy all the time because like I
- 46:49Speaker 4: was never I never was consciously like lonely or not included.
- 46:53Speaker 4: So like nobody told me things directly because it's so
- 46:56Speaker 4: much easier to just be like, let's not invite Rick anymore,
- 47:00Speaker 4: as opposed to saying, hey, Rick, if you could just
- 47:01Speaker 4: turn the volume on your microphone down, we could handle you.
- 47:05Speaker 4: So Bill did it, and also at a time in
- 47:07Speaker 4: my life, or I guess, I was able to receive it,
- 47:09Speaker 4: and it ended up helping me discover things about myself.
- 47:13Speaker 4: Like I said, I had to go like these special
- 47:15Speaker 4: classes in special school, and I was diagnosed with lots
- 47:19Speaker 4: of different things as a kid, different medications, and I
- 47:24Speaker 4: even had to get glasses in third grade. And then
- 47:27Speaker 4: I found out through this Bill stuff, I ended up
- 47:31Speaker 4: getting diagnosed with a level on autism. And when I
- 47:38Speaker 4: found out, I was like, this makes so much sense.
- 47:42Speaker 4: And like all of those unrelated obstacles and unrelated things
- 47:48Speaker 4: in my life that I then were able to see
- 47:50Speaker 4: as patterns kind of made me recognize. I don't know
- 47:55Speaker 4: how to explain it other than just self awareness somewhat,
- 47:58Speaker 4: you know, just a little bit more. But it wasn't
- 48:00Speaker 4: even like I became more aware. It just made me realize, like, oh,
- 48:05Speaker 4: I need, I need to pay more attention to things.
- 48:09Speaker 4: I started asking lots of questions. Uh you know, Uh,
- 48:14Speaker 4: the first one I did, I put this in the
- 48:16Speaker 4: in that that video. But like Zach is leaning forward
- 48:19Speaker 4: and his eyes are squinted a little bit, And I
- 48:21Speaker 4: learned that like when people squint and they lean forward,
- 48:24Speaker 4: it's they want to hear a little bit more, and
- 48:26Speaker 4: if they squint and they lean back, they've heard enough.
- 48:28Speaker 4: And like I started asking and looking at people's body
- 48:31Speaker 4: language with things that weren't intuitive to me that I
- 48:34Speaker 4: think I've gotten really good at now. And uh, when
- 48:38Speaker 4: I started my podcast, it's called take your shoes off.
- 48:41Speaker 4: Like Zach, I I also have OCD and take your
- 48:44Speaker 4: shoes off as kind of like the easiest rule, Like
- 48:46Speaker 4: everyone at least gets that, even if they're not that.
- 48:49Speaker 4: But then there's so many more, like when you come over,
- 48:51Speaker 4: I don't let outdoor close on my couch, so you
- 48:53Speaker 4: have to sit on a blanket and wash your hands
- 48:55Speaker 4: and do this, and and I have to do bits
- 48:58Speaker 4: with it all because otherwise I rather be mile Rick
- 49:01Speaker 4: does jokes all the time, as opposed to man Rick
- 49:03Speaker 4: is an asshole, So like that was kind of a
- 49:05Speaker 4: language of people could receive it. If it's funny.
- 49:09Speaker 1: Let's take a break.
- 49:10Speaker 3: We'll be right back after these fine words. I'm just
- 49:19Speaker 3: ask you this is so interesting you mean, but how
- 49:22Speaker 3: did you the social cues thing which seems to be
- 49:25Speaker 3: a piece of this what you're saying, Like I had
- 49:27Speaker 3: to learn if someone leans forward and squints their how
- 49:30Speaker 3: did you just take it to parlor? More, how did
- 49:33Speaker 3: you learn that you had autism? You went and got
- 49:36Speaker 3: how did you know to go get assessment?
- 49:38Speaker 4: So for almost two years before that, I was kind
- 49:41Speaker 4: of hypothesizing do I have or something like this because
- 49:47Speaker 4: just certain things in my life that make it we're
- 49:50Speaker 4: curious to me. But then I ended up getting lunch
- 49:52Speaker 4: with one of the ron funches, who was also a
- 49:56Speaker 4: stand up comic who was on Undateable.
- 49:58Speaker 3: Yes we love him.
- 50:00Speaker 4: He is open and talks about it in his act
- 50:02Speaker 4: a lot. Uh, I say, I mean, I don't want
- 50:04Speaker 4: to say a lot. But he talked about his act
- 50:05Speaker 4: and it's very funny. He talks about being, yeah, a
- 50:09Speaker 4: father of of of a of a teenager with autism
- 50:12Speaker 4: and his son lives with him, and uh, if you
- 50:15Speaker 4: watch Ron's act over the years, you kind of like
- 50:18Speaker 4: learn how he grows with his son and and it's
- 50:21Speaker 4: it's very funny. He's very like, it's not self temper gating.
- 50:25Speaker 4: I don't know, explain it, but like he makes jokes
- 50:26Speaker 4: about it all. Like it's very honest and real and
- 50:29Speaker 4: like the obstacles and what he thinks is cool and
- 50:31Speaker 4: kind of the cheats that he gets to do. And anyway,
- 50:36Speaker 4: I was at lunch with him and his son, and
- 50:38Speaker 4: his son did something that that I did a lot
- 50:40Speaker 4: when I was a kid. It does I don't need
- 50:41Speaker 4: to get into it, basically stimming. Uh do you know
- 50:43Speaker 4: what stimming is. It's it's self stimulation. It's it's not
- 50:46Speaker 4: an autistic thing. I mean people do it when they
- 50:48Speaker 4: tap their pens or just you know, in their hyper
- 50:50Speaker 4: like yeah, yeah, whatever however it might come out.
- 50:53Speaker 3: I love fidget toys, Phil, I keep them around because.
- 50:57Speaker 4: Yeah, a lot of people with a D d uh
- 51:00Speaker 4: like things like that too. But he did one that
- 51:03Speaker 4: was very specific to when I was a kid, and
- 51:04Speaker 4: I'm like, I used to do that, and Ron had
- 51:07Speaker 4: brought to my attention. Yeah, there's a lot of similar
- 51:09Speaker 4: things that I've noticed and then I'm like, oh, well,
- 51:12Speaker 4: I was thinking this and he goes and he didn't
- 51:14Speaker 4: diagnose it or no, and he goes, yeah, I could
- 51:16Speaker 4: see that that makes sense, and it just made it
- 51:18Speaker 4: curious to me. And then I looked into how to
- 51:20Speaker 4: find out and when it's a lot harder to diagnose.
- 51:24Speaker 4: It's the hardest to diagnose in females, which we could
- 51:27Speaker 4: talk about if you're interested. But that's like its own
- 51:30Speaker 4: category of like how it presents itself so much differently.
- 51:33Speaker 4: And you know, even though you're fake doctors, I'm sure
- 51:35Speaker 4: you're aware that, like a lot of medical things are
- 51:38Speaker 4: tested in, practiced and prioritized on men, and it's already
- 51:41Speaker 4: it's not like you could check somebody's blood, so females
- 51:44Speaker 4: and also adults because in kids, when you're a kid,
- 51:48Speaker 4: you haven't yet adapted to figure out ways around some
- 51:51Speaker 4: of your obstacles. As an adult, it depends on how
- 51:55Speaker 4: how much it is, like there's different levels. On level one,
- 51:59Speaker 4: it's like something that you might not know unless you
- 52:02Speaker 4: got to know somebody. And I've adapted. I've you know,
- 52:06Speaker 4: people would say how you doing. I learned to just
- 52:08Speaker 4: say good, how are you? I mean that was truly,
- 52:11Speaker 4: I never did it. I would always just say I
- 52:13Speaker 4: don't want to tell you, or I would do a joke.
- 52:15Speaker 4: And like I learned about call and response, and you
- 52:18Speaker 4: don't have to do it for you, just you do
- 52:20Speaker 4: it to survive. I say that, you know, kind of hyperbolically,
- 52:24Speaker 4: but just like certain things during the day I've learned.
- 52:27Speaker 4: And but I would just get drained. I also, you know, Zach,
- 52:31Speaker 4: you said that it's exhausting. That's something that I didn't realize.
- 52:34Speaker 4: Not only was I exhausting other people, I was really
- 52:38Speaker 4: exhaust Like I would get home and I would just
- 52:39Speaker 4: be done. Like I didn't realize how tiring I am
- 52:43Speaker 4: to myself.
- 52:44Speaker 3: My experience with you was that I would be laughing
- 52:46Speaker 3: the whole time because I find you very funny. But
- 52:49Speaker 3: also it was just you wouldn't ever stop. Yeah, and
- 52:53Speaker 3: I would be like, I need a nap. Now I've laughed,
- 52:56Speaker 3: but I need a nap.
- 52:58Speaker 2: Yeah, have some you listen, Rick, you have some of
- 53:02Speaker 2: the best timing out of all of our friends that
- 53:05Speaker 2: we know.
- 53:05Speaker 4: That's what I'm telling everybody in the whole building.
- 53:08Speaker 1: I'm that serious enough.
- 53:09Speaker 2: Bill Lawrence Camp you are probably yeah, you are one
- 53:15Speaker 2: of you are top.
- 53:16Speaker 1: In my opinion, top five funny in my opinion.
- 53:19Speaker 2: You have some of the best timing that I have
- 53:23Speaker 2: ever you and Ron both and Chris two.
- 53:25Speaker 1: Uh.
- 53:26Speaker 2: You guys have some of the best timing, like just
- 53:28Speaker 2: out of the blue where it's like, where the fuck
- 53:31Speaker 2: did that come from? You know what I mean, the
- 53:33Speaker 2: three of you, but you especially like you take moments
- 53:37Speaker 2: that everybody can be like down and somber, and you
- 53:40Speaker 2: turn it and you flip it right away. One example
- 53:43Speaker 2: is Bill Lawrence's birthday. We got Charlie Pooth singing freaking
- 53:47Speaker 2: the freaking we got him singing the fucking it's been
- 53:51Speaker 2: a long way without you, my friend, and he's killing.
- 53:56Speaker 4: It, and he's at the piano to doing it.
- 54:00Speaker 2: It is a real, like, this is a fucking Grammy
- 54:03Speaker 2: level performance he's given us right now.
- 54:05Speaker 1: And out of nowhere, Collin.
- 54:08Speaker 2: Rick fucking starts doing the fucking with Khalifa.
- 54:12Speaker 4: Park No no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 54:14Speaker 1: I yeah you did.
- 54:15Speaker 4: I was just I was freestyle. I was freestyling stuff
- 54:17Speaker 4: I don't know, I was making it.
- 54:19Speaker 5: I was.
- 54:20Speaker 4: I was pretty stoned.
- 54:22Speaker 1: Even better, even better, I remember what made me.
- 54:25Speaker 4: I remember feeling good about this because I was again like,
- 54:28Speaker 4: I like this video I made I called I'm phenom
- 54:31Speaker 4: I think, like I, this is gonna come across. I
- 54:35Speaker 4: mean it. Honestly, I'm aware this isn't true, but I
- 54:37Speaker 4: think so many things I do are so phenomenal. But
- 54:40Speaker 4: I'm also not surprised to find out they're not. That
- 54:43Speaker 4: you guys didn't think so, and I get that, but
- 54:46Speaker 4: but for whatever reason, I disagree, and I love living
- 54:50Speaker 4: life that way. But hold on. But so I'm doing
- 54:52Speaker 4: this and I'm stoned, and I remember I got there.
- 54:56Speaker 4: I wanted if any of you guys remind me to
- 54:58Speaker 4: remind me to talk what when I first got there
- 55:00Speaker 4: how Bill treated me. But I'll get to that in
- 55:02Speaker 4: a second. I got a little stoned and I started rapping,
- 55:05Speaker 4: and I just felt like I was in the pocket.
- 55:06Speaker 4: I love rapping, doing my pot all the time.
- 55:09Speaker 1: You really, you E would like this, he went like this.
- 55:13Speaker 4: Who knew?
- 55:13Speaker 1: Must I ned like wrack?
- 55:14Speaker 9: Come on?
- 55:15Speaker 1: All right? All right, all right, all right, right, no, no, no, no.
- 55:18Speaker 4: Yes, yes that happened. But then then then I saw
- 55:22Speaker 4: Charlie was smiling again. He might have been not, but
- 55:25Speaker 4: you know this is my this is my thing. So
- 55:27Speaker 4: then I did more. I remember Zach said, who is that? Zach,
- 55:30Speaker 4: you asked me who is that? And I go, I
- 55:32Speaker 4: just made that up? And you go, no, you didn't.
- 55:34Speaker 4: I remember, you didn't believe. I probably wasn't even saying anything.
- 55:37Speaker 4: I was just sometimes I rap and it sounds like
- 55:38Speaker 4: I'm saying stuff and I'm not. But I remember, Zach,
- 55:41Speaker 4: you thought I was. At least you you thought I
- 55:43Speaker 4: was rapping somebody else's.
- 55:45Speaker 3: I think I think I probably thought, because I don't
- 55:48Speaker 3: know the song that well, that maybe there was a
- 55:50Speaker 3: rap portion and you never there is.
- 55:52Speaker 4: That's why I went, but I don't know. I don't
- 55:53Speaker 4: know the words to it.
- 55:54Speaker 3: So I probably assumed that you were doing that.
- 55:56Speaker 4: Well that just got me. That just I'm like, I
- 55:59Speaker 4: walked out of that the I walked out of the
- 56:00Speaker 4: living because here's something I learned.
- 56:02Speaker 3: And Donald's right, Donald's right, It's fucking hilarious. Got everyone.
- 56:05Speaker 3: This isn't Bill's like like bar like like it's a
- 56:08Speaker 3: small room.
- 56:08Speaker 4: It's like a piano but everybody it's he has people,
- 56:12Speaker 4: Hey do you want to come over for a coffee,
- 56:13Speaker 4: And it's like like the Grammy Awards, like the people.
- 56:17Speaker 3: My point is is that like Charlie Booth was having
- 56:19Speaker 3: his moment at the piano. I Charlie Booth was having
- 56:23Speaker 3: his moment at the piano and you and you were
- 56:26Speaker 3: like you started rapping over it, and I remember thinking,
- 56:30Speaker 3: I remember thinking it was fucking hilarious, but so hard.
- 56:34Speaker 2: I laughed so hard since we're having laugh since we
- 56:36Speaker 2: have our lap animals with us. Now, I laughed so
- 56:42Speaker 2: freaking hard, like I was crying, and it was. And
- 56:44Speaker 2: it was toward the end of his performance, like he
- 56:47Speaker 2: had done all of the hits.
- 56:49Speaker 1: We don't talk anymore. He did all of them, and this.
- 56:54Speaker 3: Is the finale, talk anyone. And then Rick started rapping
- 56:58Speaker 3: over that ship.
- 56:59Speaker 2: That ship had I laughed, Oh my god, I laughed.
- 57:02Speaker 2: I laughed for days about that. I talked to my
- 57:04Speaker 2: wife about it.
- 57:05Speaker 4: That was a really fun I remember that. I remember that,
- 57:07Speaker 4: and I remember you doing your dancing. Everyone was everyone
- 57:10Speaker 4: was performing, and nothing about it was like to everyone
- 57:13Speaker 4: stealing spotlight because everyone there was a performer, and everybody
- 57:16Speaker 4: had spotlight and an audience and everybody was it was.
- 57:19Speaker 4: That was fun. So when I walked in there, Bill
- 57:22Speaker 4: does something with me. I guess this is fine. I mean,
- 57:25Speaker 4: whatever Bill does something on me, at least he used
- 57:28Speaker 4: to and maybe still does, but I don't see him
- 57:31Speaker 4: as much. But I think Bill thinks I'm really funny.
- 57:37Speaker 4: I also think Bill thinks that I might bother somebody
- 57:42Speaker 4: all at the same time, kind of like what Zach
- 57:45Speaker 4: is saying about himself. But like I watched Bill, so
- 57:48Speaker 4: I walk in and I wasn't high yet, and I
- 57:50Speaker 4: wasn't high on purpose because I know Bill, I'm projecting
- 57:54Speaker 4: Bill is scared of me doing something, so like I'm
- 57:57Speaker 4: going into this man's house, don't be high, at least
- 58:00Speaker 4: not yet. And I remember him, yeah, and I remember
- 58:03Speaker 4: he introduced me, and I saw him introduce me to people,
- 58:06Speaker 4: and and he introduces me to people in a way
- 58:08Speaker 4: where like he's like a producer. He's like almost trying
- 58:11Speaker 4: to manage people's expectations. And I'll say something like Rick
- 58:15Speaker 4: is a Rick is a little weird, but he's funny,
- 58:17Speaker 4: like something where he like lets people know. And and
- 58:21Speaker 4: I watch him. I don't remember who it was, but
- 58:23Speaker 4: some an agent of his or somebody, but it was me,
- 58:25Speaker 4: Bill and one other guy, and I watch I'm talking
- 58:28Speaker 4: and I'm doing bits because I'm there and I'm watching
- 58:31Speaker 4: Bill watching look at me for a second, but watching
- 58:34Speaker 4: the other watching the other person, and once the other
- 58:37Speaker 4: person laughs, then Bill kind of like, okay, I'm safe.
- 58:41Speaker 4: And I saw enough of that to where I'm like, okay,
- 58:43Speaker 4: I think I could get high now. I just remember.
- 58:47Speaker 3: But a cocktail party, you're perfect because you do bits
- 58:50Speaker 3: kind of NonStop. But you're like a magician who's work. Yeah, dude,
- 58:55Speaker 3: it's and then and then no one's like, oh my god,
- 58:57Speaker 3: well this guy shut the fuck up.
- 58:59Speaker 4: They don't always I don't and I don't shut up,
- 59:01Speaker 4: and I'm You're like a magician. We worked on. I know.
- 59:05Speaker 4: This is a trick. This is a trick. Here's what
- 59:06Speaker 4: I learned. I actually, I actually when I'm out at
- 59:09Speaker 4: parties or something and there's groups, especially if I feel
- 59:12Speaker 4: like I'm in it, which again I feel like I
- 59:14Speaker 4: am more than I probably am. But like I'll be
- 59:17Speaker 4: like like like how Castanza goes all right, I'm out.
- 59:20Speaker 4: I did that after the wrapping. I once I get something,
- 59:22Speaker 4: I'm like, I need to do more bits. But I
- 59:25Speaker 4: just say that rick Lee for thirty seconds. And this
- 59:28Speaker 4: is get out. So when I'm when I'm at a
- 59:30Speaker 4: party or something, I'll I'll once I get a laugh,
- 59:32Speaker 4: I'm like, I want to keep going because I want
- 59:34Speaker 4: to ride the wave.
- 59:35Speaker 3: But I I don't.
- 59:36Speaker 4: Think anyone will tell me Rick it's too much. So
- 59:38Speaker 4: I leave and I'll go up to other groups and
- 59:41Speaker 4: I'll be like, are we doing like? Are we doing bits?
- 59:44Speaker 4: I'll ask the group, are you guys having serious talk?
- 59:46Speaker 4: Are we doing bits? And people they'll tell you because
- 59:48Speaker 4: it's such a specific question. People will say, yeah, we're
- 59:50Speaker 4: just joking around or we're just talking. I'm in like, yeah,
- 59:53Speaker 4: such and such sister, as you know, going through blah blah.
- 59:56Speaker 3: I'm like, I should walk away.
- 59:58Speaker 4: I don't even say it, I just do. Do you?
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: But do you ever go? Are you able to go? Oh?
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: Tell me about so and so sister. No, you don't care.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: I don't know them.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: It's it's it's I don't know.
- 1:00:14Speaker 9: No.
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: I mean, I think it's important.
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: You're in the you're in the pocket.
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: You got to listen. If I'm at the bowling alley
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: and somebody brings me a baseball bat, I'm not gonna
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: say baseball stupid, but I'm not here right. And also
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: back to the idea of like it's exhausting and bits
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: and I exhausted myself. The truth is bits are king okay,
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: because without bits, it's just how's your sister now? If
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: I'm interested, or if it's important to you and this
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: is a way of connecting, or you need support or
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: I'm catching up. Sure, I'm not saying serious conversation is unnecessary,
- 1:00:47Speaker 4: but like by design, a lot of these things, a
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: lot of most of our interactions, with exception of long
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: form like podcasts, it's very superficial. I don't mean that
- 1:00:56Speaker 4: in a derogatory way.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: I just mean no, I was about to say, hold
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: on now.
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: They're been times where I've had conversations with you and
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: You've been like, no, seriously, Donald, how's everything going, And
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, you're fucking doing a bit right now,
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: how aren't you? There has been that there had that
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: has happened once or twice hold on now, No.
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: But but you're making my point. I'm saying, if I'm
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: interested in somebody and or they're interested in me, I'm
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: not saying talking like we're talking serious now, it's not stupid,
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: But I'm saying there's a lot of times where it
- 1:01:24Speaker 4: and I could be wrong or I could be right,
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: but also somebody could have a different opinion. It just
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: doesn't feel genuine to me. It's just like a like
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: a oh man, how's your family? Like I don't know,
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: maybe I just don't buy it, like why don't we
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: talk about something that that we're interested in talking about?
- 1:01:44Speaker 4: Or let's do jokes. And the problem that I had
- 1:01:48Speaker 4: was I didn't recognize when somebody might be interested in
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: having a real conversation and just because I'm not doesn't
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: mean that they're not, and that's me shutting them down,
- 1:01:56Speaker 4: and it's also forcing bits. But what I learned, and
- 1:02:00Speaker 4: I'm still hard, but what I learned is is a
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: genuine conversation for me, if I'm not in the mood
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: is very difficult. And if I don't do jokes, I'm
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: just zoning out, I'm looking away or I'm not present
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: or I'm rude. I mean it's rude. So like what
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: I've learned from the podcast is if I'm not interested,
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: it's because I'm not curious. I happen to be a
- 1:02:28Speaker 4: very curious person. So there's a I think a nice
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: way of having genuine conversation while also not negating what
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: somebody wants to talk about is finding something within it
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: that I'm curious about. So like when somebody's like, you're
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: talking about Bill's party whatever, I'd be like, h, I'm sorry,
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: I'm not quite remembering that kind of stuff. What was it? Like?
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: What was funny about that to you? Or whatever? It
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: might be like finding curiosity in things. But then, like now,
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: then I end up just talking too much and I
- 1:02:59Speaker 4: don't know how to balance it.
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: I have a question about I have a question about
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: I have a question about level one autism? Does that?
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: And I don't want to misspeak at all, So please audience,
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: I'm gonna get educated here because I don't exactly know.
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: Did this used to be called Asbergers? What's the overlap
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: with the term that's no longer used as Burgers?
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: So it used to be called Asperger's?
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: Uh?
- 1:03:23Speaker 4: What what was known as Asperger's?
- 1:03:25Speaker 9: Uh?
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: Is what is basically level one autism spectrum disorder. Uh.
- 1:03:30Speaker 4: Some people say they stopped calling it Asperger's because it
- 1:03:33Speaker 4: was named after a Nazi.
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: Yeah. I heard he was a Nazi, so he had
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: to get rid of that term.
- 1:03:38Speaker 4: Yeah, but that's coming back bigger than ever now, So
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: I do is going to be back too, And buddy,
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: look at my new merch just says I have Asperger's
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: free the Jews or something.
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: No, is that really true? Asperger?
- 1:03:51Speaker 6: Who?
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: Who?
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: What?
- 1:03:52Speaker 8: What?
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: Ad Asperger? He was a Nazi? But he what does
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: he have to do with as.
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: He's a doctor and and and he defined it.
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: I see, so we had to get rid of his name.
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: We had brand.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: Well.
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: The other thing that I heard and that makes more
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: sense to me, but they both might be true, is
- 1:04:08Speaker 4: that that it's very it's similar. There's different levels and
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: what how how high your obstacles are, and what your
- 1:04:15Speaker 4: sensitivities might be, and how many of them there are,
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: and that's where the different levels are. But when you
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: call it aspergers versus autism, that that Aspergers was like
- 1:04:28Speaker 4: milder better, almost stigmatizing one way or the other, like, oh,
- 1:04:33Speaker 4: it's not like it's autism or oh it's just aspergers.
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: I've heard. I don't know if that's true, but it
- 1:04:38Speaker 4: made sense to me because it's like, you know, kind
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: of like how add and ADHD they're the same thing,
- 1:04:45Speaker 4: but like there was different classes. You could have it
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: more or less severe, but why have these different diagnoses?
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: So that's my understanding of it.
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: It's also like I said, it's harder to diagnose in
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: an adult than as a kid. Uh as a kid.
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: If people understood it better, I probably would have been
- 1:05:03Speaker 4: diagnosed younger. And also, you know, you say, Zach, you
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: don't know a lot about it, but a lot of
- 1:05:09Speaker 4: people don't.
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: And well that's why I feel like we can educate
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: a little bit. No, we always want to segue into
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: You had a show called As We See It, Yeah,
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: that we got a lot of critical acclaiming, and you
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: were very good on it. I think I texted you
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: and said, I.
- 1:05:24Speaker 4: Actually found out that you liked it because somebody clipped
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: you talked about it on one of your podcasts. I
- 1:05:29Speaker 4: thought that was really cool.
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: Well, there you go. I was very happy for you.
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: It was an Amazon Prime series. People can check it out.
- 1:05:35Speaker 4: Great show.
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: What's interesting about it is that it was about people
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: on the spectrum, and all the main actors were all
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: people who were somewhere on the spectrum correct.
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: As well as one of the writers, and a lot
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: of production and hair makeup. If they weren't on the spectrum,
- 1:05:57Speaker 4: one of their brothers or sisters, their son, their daughter
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: likes everybody was within one degree connected to this, which
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: you know, I guess is nice for representation, but also
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: gave for like so many different points of view, which
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: I don't know if that was a mission for the show.
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: It was created by Jason Cadoms, who did Parenthood and
- 1:06:19Speaker 4: Friday at Lights and he's brilliant and his son is
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: on the Spectrum and his son is when the show
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: was coming out. When he was writing it was, you know,
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: turning into his teenage years and becoming an adult and
- 1:06:30Speaker 4: what does that look like when you're a caregiver for somebody,
- 1:06:34Speaker 4: like a child who is it's a typical thing on
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: the spectrum or not. You tend to your children, but
- 1:06:40Speaker 4: as they get older and the idea of what that
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: life looks like and the independence or lack thereof. And
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: there's a show called on the Spectrum, an Israeli show
- 1:06:49Speaker 4: that he adopted it from, and there are the show
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: was supposed to take supposed to be about three twenty
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: somethings who are living alone but together, like they're not
- 1:07:02Speaker 4: living with their family, they live in a house together.
- 1:07:04Speaker 4: They have somebody come in like a guidance counsel type thing,
- 1:07:08Speaker 4: you know, every day to check in on them and
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: everything played by Socy Bacon and on that show, and
- 1:07:16Speaker 4: so many there's so many background actors and guest stars
- 1:07:19Speaker 4: that were also on the spectrum and so different. Some
- 1:07:22Speaker 4: people you'd look at them and be like autism, and
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: some people you'd be like, what's going on here? I say,
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: what's going on here? Because like that's a thing, you know,
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: not autism aside, Like you'll meet people or you'll walk
- 1:07:35Speaker 4: by somebody and you'll be like, what's going on with
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: this guy or this girl? And I think that comes
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: from curiosity, but also even subconsciously judgment first, like what
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: the hell is this? And I've always been very connected
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: to those kinds of people, I guess because I played
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: Magic Gathering and they were probably a whole bit all
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: what's going on here type people. And there's something safe
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: about it because when there's somebody that's what's going on
- 1:07:59Speaker 4: type of person. I also feel like they a lot
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: of people don't ask what's going on, like what is that? What? What?
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: What job does your dog do for you?
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: What?
- 1:08:09Speaker 4: Why are you doing that with your hand? What are
- 1:08:11Speaker 4: those noises you're making?
- 1:08:12Speaker 5: Like?
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: They don't ask the questions, so instead of understanding the person,
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: they're whether they know it or not, they're judging them,
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: or they're feeling like this person isn't worth me being
- 1:08:20Speaker 4: curious about. And I assure you that almost everybody, if
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: not everybody, who is a what's going on type of person,
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: not only are they going to be okay with you
- 1:08:30Speaker 4: asking them that, they're going to be flattered that you've
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: showed an interest in them and they.
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: Are How do you ask that, Rick, How do you
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: without without without offending anything?
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: But there is offending, There is no offending.
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: What I'm saying. Okay, well, then tell people who are
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: listening to you this is good advice. How would you
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: would you broach the subjects?
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: So so I'm going to answer you with a little
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: bit of a long winded thing that is is uh
- 1:08:52Speaker 4: uh important that I think that I mentioned, which is
- 1:08:56Speaker 4: if you offend somebody, they're like you, Like we said,
- 1:09:00Speaker 4: we have to take responsibility how we're being received. But
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: at the same time, there's a there's a like a
- 1:09:05Speaker 4: standard deviation of where is it our responsibility and where
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: are your feelings not my responsibility? And there's a big
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: section where if you're offended, Zach, that I ask you
- 1:09:14Speaker 4: why you're you know what's going on with the scar
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: on your face. That's maybe because you're feeling insecure about
- 1:09:20Speaker 4: your scar. But and there's there's there's tact and there's
- 1:09:24Speaker 4: figuring out, and there's reading a room of course, but
- 1:09:26Speaker 4: like if you see somebody and they just don't think
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: you start doing like that kind of like what you
- 1:09:32Speaker 4: would think is weird shit if you're not used to
- 1:09:34Speaker 4: that and you just I'm being polite by ignoring it.
- 1:09:38Speaker 4: I would argue that you're being dismissive by not acknowledging
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: it addressing it. Yeah, now you don't have to draw
- 1:09:45Speaker 4: attention to people and say, hey, everybody, look at this,
- 1:09:47Speaker 4: but like, hey, I saw we were working on the thing,
- 1:09:50Speaker 4: and I saw you doing these things? What is that?
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: And they'll explain whether I was stimming or I do
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: this or whatever it might be. Then you could decide, oh,
- 1:09:58Speaker 4: I don't want to be around this if for whatever
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: reason you don't, but find out why first. I'm speaking
- 1:10:05Speaker 4: for myself, but I truly believe that curiosity is not
- 1:10:09Speaker 4: offensive to ask questions about Donald and black culture because
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: I don't want to bring up black stuff or something.
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: It's like I'm curious about it, like ask him about it.
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: I don't think I don't think any person.
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: I don't think any human being, any African American, would
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: be offended if you ask them about their culture.
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: You're absolutely right.
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: Like Donald, do you use a washcloth in the shower?
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: This is a big topic on our shot.
- 1:10:32Speaker 4: Definitely, is it really?
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: Joelle does as well. Yes, it's fair.
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: It's fair white people.
- 1:10:37Speaker 4: You white people don't learned that in college.
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: We actually made I don't know if they're still available
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: in the Merge storage you will. But back when the
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: podcast again, we made Fake Doctor's Real Friends washcloths because
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: we discovered that stereotypically African American people.
- 1:10:51Speaker 4: Using you can brand it with fubu.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: Listen.
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: Wow, well well wow there they're for you. Yeah, by us,
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: I get it ricks by us.
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: Rick tell Donald that joke that I love that you do.
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: I don't know if you do it anymore. But he
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: didn't see it when you start your set with your
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: hood up.
- 1:11:14Speaker 4: Oh well, I mean it's a performance based joke and
- 1:11:16Speaker 4: I'm not going to do it now.
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: Can you just walk the audience here? Some people watch to.
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: Tell you what, to tell you what, go to punch
- 1:11:22Speaker 4: Up Dot Live Slash Rick Glassman to find out when
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: I'm going to be performing in your city, and I'll
- 1:11:27Speaker 4: do some of those jokes.
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, we want you to go see Rick His
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: stand ups hilarious. Can I tell the audience?
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: But are you still show up? No? Man, let him
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: tell his jokes.
- 1:11:36Speaker 3: I want to tell his show because it's so far.
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: I remember when we did Undated, but we when we
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: came on that one episode, you weren't in shape. And
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: then I saw you again like four months later, and
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: all of a sudden you were jacked and ripped and
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: everything like.
- 1:11:50Speaker 4: It comes and ghosts, it comes and ghosts, it comes
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: and goes.
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: Rick, you're very good with the ladies. How's your love
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: life going? I've seen you with some very attractive, nice women.
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: What's what?
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: How was that going?
- 1:12:01Speaker 4: Well, first, let me just say that all women are attractive,
- 1:12:04Speaker 4: even the ugly ones.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: Now I think, wait a second, wait a second, wait.
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: That's Rick. You gotta let him be ricked.
- 1:12:12Speaker 4: Well, I don't know what you're talking about, with like
- 1:12:14Speaker 4: me being like, I don't know what you're saying.
- 1:12:16Speaker 3: A few times in our experiences, I've seen you hanging
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: out with very attractive.
- 1:12:21Speaker 4: Very well, I'm very they're also very funny.
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: Yes, I just I'm wondering if you're currently seeing someone
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: or is there is there a missus Rick in the picture.
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: There's not, there's no mister, are you actively dating? Are
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: you taking women out to dinner and asking?
- 1:12:35Speaker 4: I am not actively dating?
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: Have you ever gone by the ricker?
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: He's not going to get a silver Spoons joke? He's
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: too young. Remember he told us how young he was.
- 1:12:45Speaker 4: Want to that's sorry, my headphones cut out. And here
- 1:12:48Speaker 4: what Zach said? Isn't that from silver spoons?
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: You're too young to know. You're too young to know
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: a silver spoon reference?
- 1:12:55Speaker 4: No, I got out of a relationship. I got out
- 1:12:57Speaker 4: a relationship a couple of months ago. I guess maybe
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: more than that now came out.
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: How are you?
- 1:13:04Speaker 4: It's always hard? I mean, I I I have It
- 1:13:08Speaker 4: takes me years to fire an agent. I just I
- 1:13:11Speaker 4: don't leave people. Well, id it in you sitting down?
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: Yeah? We are, uh cordially kindly and then just me
- 1:13:25Speaker 4: being depressed for six weeks, right right, there's no way
- 1:13:30Speaker 4: for it to end without.
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: We've all we've all been there. Can I get her number? Rick?
- 1:13:39Speaker 4: You know what's interesting about that? Why is it like,
- 1:13:42Speaker 4: of course, when you break up with somebody, they're going
- 1:13:44Speaker 4: to be with somebody else. But the idea of it
- 1:13:47Speaker 4: being with somebody else, I don't know if it's worth
- 1:13:50Speaker 4: somebody who's like I'm really close to, or somebody who
- 1:13:52Speaker 4: I kind of know but for a long time.
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: Ah, dude, I don't want to see anybody.
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: Listen, Listen. If you date in Hollywood, you better believe
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: that now you don't want somebody after you.
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: Well, you don't want to be anyone you know that's.
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: It's always somebody you know.
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: That's not true.
- 1:14:08Speaker 4: Maybe you know a lot of people and.
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: They might be someone you know, like like you don't
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: know them, but you know who they are.
- 1:14:16Speaker 4: Well, I don't want to give you her number because
- 1:14:18Speaker 4: she's wonderful.
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: Hold on, I would I would never date. I would
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: never date. I'm doing a bit, but I would never
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: date some Rick's ex girlfriend. I mean, like the people
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: who are like one of.
- 1:14:29Speaker 4: Your girlfriends is my x of mind that you don't
- 1:14:31Speaker 4: even know about.
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: I'm about to say I have I have friends that
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: I have serious ones that have dated ex.
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: Girlfriends of mine.
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: Someone dated Donald Plan. I'm not going to tell you because.
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: Now now you're in. Now you're in it. Now you're
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: in it, So go ahead.
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: Someone I dated used to date you yes, and asked
- 1:14:50Speaker 4: me not to tell you.
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: Mhmm. Can we figure out who it is you won't
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: tell me now?
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: I just made that up. I was just looking for drama.
- 1:14:59Speaker 4: I'm sorry.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: I don't want to lie.
- 1:15:02Speaker 4: If I were editing this, I would have really lean
- 1:15:04Speaker 4: into it and made this into a thing for a while.
- 1:15:06Speaker 4: But this is your show. I'm sorry.
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: I was ruck. I was going through the ladies. I'm glad.
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: I'm glad that's not true. Can I tell your bit
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: that you won't tell everyone?
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: No?
- 1:15:15Speaker 4: No? Because I don't want to be able to know
- 1:15:16Speaker 4: it's it's kind of a joke. It only works once.
- 1:15:19Speaker 3: Do you still use it?
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: It's a joke that I really believe only works once.
- 1:15:23Speaker 4: So I do use it. But like one in twenty shows.
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: I laughed a lot at it. Go see Rick do
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: stand up? How do people find where you're doing stand up?

- 1:16:08Speaker 4: but because of the podcast, I just would do. I
- 1:16:10Speaker 4: do three to five shows in La every week, but
- 1:16:12Speaker 4: there are.
- 1:16:13Speaker 3: Fair which which club.
- 1:16:14Speaker 4: The Laugh Factory and the Improv are where I'm at
- 1:16:17Speaker 4: every week pretty much, and then the Comedy Store sometimes.

- 1:16:23Speaker 1: Yeah.

- 1:16:30Speaker 4: I would love for you guys to come to a show.
- 1:16:33Speaker 4: And then I'm gonna just put it out here because
- 1:16:35Speaker 4: who knows when we're going to talk again. I would
- 1:16:37Speaker 4: love for you both to come on my pot at
- 1:16:38Speaker 4: some point together.
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: Right, but I've been on your podcast, and if everyone
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: wants to see that episode, how do they find that episode.
- 1:16:45Speaker 4: One sixty five? If you actually go to Rick Glassman
- 1:16:47Speaker 4: dot com, it'll be right up there at the top.
- 1:16:50Speaker 4: Why did you?
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: Why did you? How do you re memorize that it's
- 1:16:53Speaker 3: one sixty five sec.
- 1:16:54Speaker 4: I'm not sure if you remember what I told you
- 1:16:55Speaker 4: about when Brent Morean came over. I am a big
- 1:16:57Speaker 4: fan of Scrubs.
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: I don't believe you.
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: You said you were a baby, you said you were
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: three years old.
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: He brought out a puppet from his barman's fuck.
- 1:17:09Speaker 4: Don't don't fucking talk about my act?
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: Shut up?
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: Oh my god, Oh well I am at the top?
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: Is not because it was so well received.
- 1:17:20Speaker 4: I uh stopped updating my website. Coincidentally, after your episode,
- 1:17:25Speaker 4: I've done.
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: You're a liar.
- 1:17:26Speaker 4: No, seriously, n.
- 1:17:29Speaker 3: I'm going to live in a world where it was
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: because it was so well received.
- 1:17:32Speaker 4: Oh my god, it's insane. How worls people were like, wow,
- 1:17:34Speaker 4: that bully is Uh, it's funny sometimes.
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: Bully, Well, you do have to take off your shoes
- 1:17:41Speaker 3: and he puts down blankets because you have outside outside ship. Yeah,
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: so Rick when you come home, you change full fully
- 1:17:49Speaker 3: into inside clothes.
- 1:17:50Speaker 4: Yeah, there's two. There's there's two tiers of inside clothes.
- 1:17:53Speaker 4: There's uh. When I come in. Once something's worn outside,
- 1:17:57Speaker 4: it's becomes outdoor clothes until it's washed, and then it's reset. Obviously.
- 1:18:01Speaker 4: Now I have a dog. Now, so when I go
- 1:18:03Speaker 4: and I walk the dog, if I don't sit down
- 1:18:05Speaker 4: on anything, including my car, they're indoor closed.
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: Still, oh oh, not about the dogs? Now do you
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: have to wash the dog's pause?
- 1:18:12Speaker 4: I wipe the pause when he walks in.
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, that's interesting, Rick, You know what, I take
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: showers because of if I go outside, and it all
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: started with COVID.
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: So COVID happened.
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: Sure, COVID happened, and now because of it, if I
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: go outside, Let's say I go to a supermarket. When
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: I come home, automatically, I shower, bro and I got
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: to change the clothes I had on Donald.
- 1:18:34Speaker 4: Doesn't that make you not want to leave now? Because
- 1:18:36Speaker 4: of the work.
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: He doesn't, I don't.
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: I don't go anywhere.
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: I'm trying to get him to go to Vegas. It's
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: like begging.
- 1:18:42Speaker 4: I could talk to you about I found So I
- 1:18:44Speaker 4: was like this. Myosi was very bad as a kid.
- 1:18:46Speaker 4: I got better as an adult. COVID made it brought
- 1:18:48Speaker 4: me back, like COVID back. But it's getting better and
- 1:18:51Speaker 4: there's different different tools. And I actually one of the
- 1:18:54Speaker 4: reasons I got a doggy was to make me go
- 1:18:57Speaker 4: outside more and to be okay with like relative like
- 1:19:02Speaker 4: wipe his pause but like an animal around my house
- 1:19:04Speaker 4: and stuff. And it's really helped. But yeah, the good
- 1:19:08Speaker 4: it's it's like sometimes it's like I want to go out,
- 1:19:10Speaker 4: I want to do this, but then I have to
- 1:19:12Speaker 4: for you shower, for me change my clothes. It used
- 1:19:16Speaker 4: to be, uh, I have to wash my glasses and
- 1:19:18Speaker 4: my phone and all the things. It's just it wasn't
- 1:19:21Speaker 4: worth it.
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: It became person personal question.
- 1:19:24Speaker 4: Eight inches if I push from the side, but about
- 1:19:28Speaker 4: eight I'm serious, if I push from the side saying
- 1:19:35Speaker 4: like you know, talking about like if you go like.
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: No, no, it's fun it sounds funny, but I want
- 1:19:39Speaker 3: to know where are you pushing.
- 1:19:40Speaker 4: From the side on the pelvic bone in the side,
- 1:19:43Speaker 4: so you do like a kegel, let me longer. Let
- 1:19:45Speaker 4: me show you this and if you just if you
- 1:19:47Speaker 4: just push down right here, it's it's just kind of
- 1:19:50Speaker 4: just like it makes it its biggest Okay, d dad,
- 1:19:56Speaker 4: give me here for a secon No, no, no, no, it'll
- 1:19:59Speaker 4: be something oft I have autism. I have autism. Let
- 1:20:03Speaker 4: me do this. We know we no no, no, no,
- 1:20:08Speaker 4: came here.
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: No, we don't want to understand.
- 1:20:10Speaker 4: I was just asked we're talking about our penis size,
- 1:20:12Speaker 4: and I was gonna see if you would.
- 1:20:13Speaker 3: Oh my god, that doesn't.
- 1:20:14Speaker 4: Want to show it.
- 1:20:15Speaker 3: Now let your dad go out of there.
- 1:20:17Speaker 4: You just ran down the steps. Sorry dad, let's take
- 1:20:21Speaker 4: a break.
- 1:20:21Speaker 3: We'll be right back after these fine words. My honest question,
- 1:20:32Speaker 3: and this isn't a bit, although I'm sure you'll turn
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: it into one. What is it like being so germophobic
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: having intercourse with a new woman who doesn't know all
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: of your needs as an O c D person?
- 1:20:48Speaker 4: Why don't we open with this? That's now that's a
- 1:20:50Speaker 4: curious question. Yeah, well, first of all.
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: Do you have to scrub her down? What's that Meryl
- 1:20:55Speaker 3: Street movie?
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: Now you're turning it into a bit. You started off
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: really good and now you're turning it into a bit.
- 1:21:01Speaker 3: Zach, Sorry, it's not Meryl Street. What's that movie where
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: there is a nuclear facility? Joel and they have to
- 1:21:06Speaker 3: scrubb her.
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: That's in the past.
- 1:21:09Speaker 6: It's guys, is it silkwood?
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: Rick, do you have to silkwood the woman here?
- 1:21:16Speaker 4: I'll let my mom answer. I'm gonna take the headphones
- 1:21:18Speaker 4: off for a second. Zach ask again, No.
- 1:21:20Speaker 3: No it, Hi, please please don't. Hi's goodness.
- 1:21:25Speaker 4: What was the question that you asked me and my
- 1:21:26Speaker 4: parents house? One second? Jack, is a question for you.
- 1:21:29Speaker 3: I was asking Rick if.
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: It's okay you ask her. You could ask.
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: Because Rick has such strict OCD needs. How does that
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: translate when he's having intercourse with a new woman.
- 1:21:43Speaker 12: Actually, that's funny you would ask, because I have no idea.
- 1:21:47Speaker 4: However, However, I've actually thought.
- 1:21:52Speaker 12: I've actually thought in my mind, if he makes them
- 1:21:55Speaker 12: wear like a you know, like a what is it
- 1:21:58Speaker 12: called a wet suit or something, so that nothing touches him.
- 1:22:02Speaker 6: It's a real idea.
- 1:22:04Speaker 4: I hope.
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: I hope it's fun.
- 1:22:05Speaker 12: I hope it's good.
- 1:22:07Speaker 3: I don't get it.
- 1:22:09Speaker 4: Get it. Tell Zach and Donald what the oil said
- 1:22:13Speaker 4: when at my brist.
- 1:22:15Speaker 3: Seriously, yeah, come on, no, no, I want to know.
- 1:22:19Speaker 3: A moil is someone who cuts the force, the guy that.
- 1:22:22Speaker 12: Does the circuit religious guy, and he did it and
- 1:22:27Speaker 12: it was over. And now my mother and I my
- 1:22:30Speaker 12: mother was very very funny New York burlesque woman. And
- 1:22:35Speaker 12: my mother and I are upstairs after the brist to
- 1:22:38Speaker 12: change baby's diaper. And my mother looks at the baby
- 1:22:42Speaker 12: and she goes, oh, Conaharah.
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: Is this is this?
- 1:22:47Speaker 10: You know?
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: A healthy baby?
- 1:22:51Speaker 4: And I said, I.
- 1:22:51Speaker 12: Don't think they got it all. And I called the
- 1:22:55Speaker 12: oil and I said, did you get all the foreskin off?
- 1:22:58Speaker 12: And he goes, this is last man, your son is
- 1:23:03Speaker 12: very well.
- 1:23:04Speaker 4: Thanks Mom, so right, and believe me that Dad and
- 1:23:11Speaker 4: I have so go in the other rooms. This one
- 1:23:15Speaker 4: question that.
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: Is a first in in fake doctor's real friend's history.
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: A mother bragging about the size of her son's penis.
- 1:23:23Speaker 4: And this is why I walk around thinking I'm phenomenal. Yeah,
- 1:23:27Speaker 4: but let me let me just say this.
- 1:23:29Speaker 3: Do you silkwood? The women go ahead.
- 1:23:32Speaker 4: I'm not a germophobe. It's not about germs. It's about
- 1:23:36Speaker 4: things that I think are dirty, right, So like that's
- 1:23:40Speaker 4: that's that's objective. If you're talking about like it's like
- 1:23:42Speaker 4: like I don't think grass and dirt is bad. I
- 1:23:46Speaker 4: think like spit and stranger stuff and like stuff that
- 1:23:49Speaker 4: you're walking on on the street, like stuff that's like
- 1:23:51Speaker 4: if you got it on your fingers. If I picked
- 1:23:54Speaker 4: up grass, I wouldn't go. If there's something like you
- 1:23:56Speaker 4: got it on your fingers or something like, you'd want
- 1:23:58Speaker 4: to wash your hands immediately. I can't have that stuff
- 1:24:01Speaker 4: in the house. So I have indoor clothes, which are
- 1:24:05Speaker 4: just her indoor clothes, and then I have bed clothes.
- 1:24:08Speaker 4: Bed clothes don't leave the bed, so so like I'll
- 1:24:11Speaker 4: have bed clothes for a day or two and then
- 1:24:13Speaker 4: I'm like, all right, these bed clothes are done. I'm
- 1:24:15Speaker 4: going to graduate them to indoor close and now I'll
- 1:24:18Speaker 4: wear those bedclothes on the couch and then i'll either
- 1:24:21Speaker 4: wash them.
- 1:24:22Speaker 3: You're avoiding my question.
- 1:24:23Speaker 4: It's connected, it's connected. It's connected. So so when a
- 1:24:27Speaker 4: girl come, I'm going into the room a little cool.
- 1:24:32Speaker 4: We're getting close to that hour.
- 1:24:34Speaker 3: Oh moms, it.
- 1:24:35Speaker 4: Doesn't come out yet. They can't hear it. They say
- 1:24:37Speaker 4: Happy New Year. Donald. Then you could ask questions about
- 1:24:40Speaker 4: that if you want. Because of the Washington conversation's got
- 1:24:42Speaker 4: it fine. So when a girl comes over, if she
- 1:24:48Speaker 4: we're going to be in the living room, she'll just
- 1:24:49Speaker 4: sit on the blanket. But I explained to her, also,
- 1:24:54Speaker 4: by the way, if you're coming over, you you're into
- 1:24:56Speaker 4: this already.
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: You get this, you already know.
- 1:24:58Speaker 4: Yeah, you're not just you are having a first eight
- 1:25:00Speaker 4: and you come over, I go take off your shoes,
- 1:25:01Speaker 4: take off your shoes, like you're into this already.
- 1:25:03Speaker 3: Right, So, but she knows like there's gonna be a process.
- 1:25:06Speaker 4: So I let them know beforehand that, like, hey, so
- 1:25:09Speaker 4: I'm a certain way if we end up I don't
- 1:25:13Speaker 4: say these words, but if we end up having can
- 1:25:15Speaker 4: I say hanky panky on.
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: This intercourse, you can be thank you if we're going to.
- 1:25:21Speaker 4: Like if we're gonna like make out or whatever in
- 1:25:24Speaker 4: the bed, Like I'm not, I have no expectations of
- 1:25:27Speaker 4: us having sex. I'm not saying that's what's gonna happen.
- 1:25:29Speaker 4: But you can either need to take off your clothes
- 1:25:31Speaker 4: or I'll give you some shorts.
- 1:25:34Speaker 3: So you give them a hook up outfit.
- 1:25:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:25:36Speaker 8: Well, typically they just you know, with with with such
- 1:25:40Speaker 8: grace and and they're so smart and and and important,
- 1:25:44Speaker 8: they will traditionally if they're gonna take if they're gonna
- 1:25:46Speaker 8: get in bed, they'll just take off the clothes.
- 1:25:47Speaker 4: So at that point.
- 1:25:51Speaker 3: You're so But some of them I'm sure, like, yes,
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: I will take the hook up outfit.
- 1:25:57Speaker 4: Sometimes they'll put on like yeah, like shorts or like
- 1:25:59Speaker 4: they'll put on box or something, and if it's called
- 1:26:02Speaker 4: a sweatshirt or something, yeah, But what about their mouths?
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: Are you worried about the germs in their mouths and
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: sticking your tongue in their mouth?
- 1:26:09Speaker 4: I don't really. I'm not somebody who really hooks up
- 1:26:12Speaker 4: with somebody like without getting to know them some like.
- 1:26:18Speaker 4: I'm not like there's some random.
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: Person tried to kiss me the first day you met me.
- 1:26:22Speaker 4: Comedy kiss is different. I don't remember doing it, but
- 1:26:25Speaker 4: I believe it.
- 1:26:27Speaker 3: Do you ask them to like swirl some scope or something.
- 1:26:31Speaker 4: No, I'll tell you what I do.
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: You're doing a bit.
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: I'm not doing a bit. I'm genuinely curious. It's very serious.
- 1:26:37Speaker 4: I if somebody has bad breath, I will I can't
- 1:26:40Speaker 4: do it. I remember I was with a girl who
- 1:26:43Speaker 4: was before but she ended up being a girlfriend of mine.
- 1:26:45Speaker 4: But we were uh, I'll say canoodling then is that
- 1:26:49Speaker 4: what we were? Connodling? And her perfume was just so
- 1:26:53Speaker 4: strong perfume is poison. I don't get it to me.
- 1:26:56Speaker 4: I get it's for you and enjoy yourself, but like
- 1:26:58Speaker 4: walk into it. At least people are having pushing and
- 1:27:01Speaker 4: I just couldn't handle it. And we're fooling around a
- 1:27:03Speaker 4: little bit, and I said. I remember thinking like, Okay,
- 1:27:06Speaker 4: I could tell her later, or because I have to
- 1:27:09Speaker 4: tell her at some point, or if I'm going to
- 1:27:12Speaker 4: tell her later, I might as well do it now.
- 1:27:13Speaker 4: And I remember I said something like, hey, I want
- 1:27:16Speaker 4: to bring something up. This is a me issue, not you.
- 1:27:18Speaker 4: I'm very sensitive to smells and the perfume is so distracting.
- 1:27:22Speaker 4: I'm not really able to do this. Just like, next time,
- 1:27:25Speaker 4: maybe you could just walk into it if you know
- 1:27:27Speaker 4: we're going to be together type of thing.
- 1:27:28Speaker 3: Oh my god, how does she react?
- 1:27:30Speaker 4: Well, she became my girlfriend, so for a little bit,
- 1:27:35Speaker 4: so I get insecure that the girl won't say something
- 1:27:40Speaker 4: like that to me, Like I I'm like, if there's
- 1:27:45Speaker 4: an issue that you have with me, tell me. I
- 1:27:47Speaker 4: don't want to think about is my breath gross? So
- 1:27:50Speaker 4: I now like condition not just in intimate relationships, but
- 1:27:54Speaker 4: in friendships as well, like, hey, this is how I
- 1:27:57Speaker 4: communicate and please teach me how you communicate. But I
- 1:28:00Speaker 4: will basically say what I need from her by also
- 1:28:03Speaker 4: putting it on me, saying like, hey, uh, I brush
- 1:28:06Speaker 4: my teeth already, but if my breath is gross, you
- 1:28:08Speaker 4: gotta tell me please and yeah, And then they would
- 1:28:11Speaker 4: be like, I will tell you also, is mind gross?
- 1:28:12Speaker 4: And then I could be like, I think we could
- 1:28:14Speaker 4: brush our teeth, you know, if that's necessary? Because what
- 1:28:20Speaker 4: are we doing here?
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: Because that's the thing.
- 1:28:23Speaker 4: Listen, if those guys at that basketball game told me
- 1:28:26Speaker 4: that my breath was bad on day one, they wouldn't
- 1:28:28Speaker 4: have built enough resentment to make Bill kick me out.
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: Just tell me, right, we're so intimate figuratively about your breath.
- 1:28:36Speaker 4: Yes, we're being intimate, okay, I am, I am. I'm
- 1:28:40Speaker 4: exploring your body. I want to be able to be
- 1:28:43Speaker 4: honest with you. And if you know there's some smells,
- 1:28:46Speaker 4: how do we figure this out so we could continue
- 1:28:48Speaker 4: doing this?
- 1:28:48Speaker 3: What about if and when you go down on them,
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: do you have to say?
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: All right?
- 1:28:52Speaker 5: What?
- 1:28:54Speaker 4: Oh? I'll speak for all women here. Okay. If a
- 1:28:58Speaker 4: man is going down on a woman and the woman
- 1:29:00Speaker 4: isn't feeling confident, she'll give a heads up Okay. If
- 1:29:05Speaker 4: a woman ever lets you go down there and it's
- 1:29:07Speaker 4: not good, shame on her.
- 1:29:14Speaker 3: All right, we can stop there. I just yeah, how
- 1:29:17Speaker 3: it ends. We'll cut that.
- 1:29:22Speaker 5: I can a genuine question if we need to. I
- 1:29:25Speaker 5: think it's a fine note. That's a fine answer, Rick,
- 1:29:27Speaker 5: because it's people. If anybody is questionable down there and
- 1:29:30Speaker 5: someone goes to give you head and you're not good,
- 1:29:32Speaker 5: that's a sin on you.
- 1:29:33Speaker 3: Yes, How does the woman know? How does the woman knows?
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: Right?
- 1:29:38Speaker 3: How does the woman know if she's been you've been
- 1:29:40Speaker 3: hanging out all you know?
- 1:29:43Speaker 6: She takes off her pants changes. When was the last
- 1:29:45Speaker 6: time you showered?
- 1:29:46Speaker 4: You're away?
- 1:29:47Speaker 6: You know what's happening with Zack?
- 1:29:48Speaker 4: If I walk my dog and it was ninety degrees,
- 1:29:50Speaker 4: I'm not going to let somebody go down on me
- 1:29:52Speaker 4: until I shower. Right, Okay, out of respect, shout out, Rick,
- 1:29:56Speaker 4: thank you, that's my merch By the question?
- 1:29:58Speaker 6: Wait, can I answer?
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: Now? Do you all the way?
- 1:30:01Speaker 3: Let well ask you question?
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: Donald?
- 1:30:04Speaker 4: Donald so Ken?
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: This is me, the whole, the whole, damn it of you.
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: This is me? So can I Oh?
- 1:30:09Speaker 3: Okay, right, but then I'm sorry you feel I didn't
- 1:30:13Speaker 3: realize that I was hogging the interview. I was so
- 1:30:15Speaker 3: excited interview Rick, But Donald, you go first.
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: What do you have nothing? Go ahead, Joel?
- 1:30:19Speaker 4: Okay, Donald, don't remember it? Please Joelle, you go ahead.
- 1:30:22Speaker 4: But then, Donald, please, I would love to hear from you.
- 1:30:24Speaker 4: I haven't talked to you in so long.
- 1:30:26Speaker 3: You want nothing, Okay, Rick's gonna ask you about the
- 1:30:29Speaker 3: wash cloth. Go ahead, Joel.
- 1:30:32Speaker 5: Beck. I was really glad to hear you talk about
- 1:30:34Speaker 5: late diagnosis, especially for women. I have ADHD. I was
- 1:30:37Speaker 5: diagnosed at thirty. It was a hell of a ride
- 1:30:40Speaker 5: trying to get a diagnosis. Now I am a managing
- 1:30:44Speaker 5: executive producer and I really keyed into hiring people who
- 1:30:49Speaker 5: are on the spectrum. My brothers on the spectrum are
- 1:30:52Speaker 5: uh neurosis manifest in completely different ways. He's a very
- 1:30:57Speaker 5: socks on, like hyper specific timely person. I'm like cabin
- 1:31:05Speaker 5: which stuff. I don't like my socks on. I never
- 1:31:08Speaker 5: late because it annoyed people. And that's one of the
- 1:31:10Speaker 5: first masking techniques I learned was how to be on time.
- 1:31:13Speaker 5: Because I was like a very high achiever as a kid,
- 1:31:15Speaker 5: and I was like, I can't ever be late.
- 1:31:16Speaker 6: They'll hate me.
- 1:31:17Speaker 5: But when you're trying to hire and work with folks,
- 1:31:19Speaker 5: especially younger people who either don't have the business know
- 1:31:25Speaker 5: how just yet or they haven't caught up to like
- 1:31:28Speaker 5: how do I work with my specific like abilities? You
- 1:31:32Speaker 5: did a whole show where you hire. Everyone you hired
- 1:31:35Speaker 5: was on the spectrum. How do you make space professionally,
- 1:31:39Speaker 5: especially when you're maybe people who are above you are
- 1:31:42Speaker 5: neurotypical and don't understand what it is to be neurodiverse.
- 1:31:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean that's that's that's its own podcast. I
- 1:31:48Speaker 4: will say that everybody is different. You take five neurotypical people,
- 1:31:54Speaker 4: they're all different, five atypical people same, So like everybody
- 1:31:59Speaker 4: has their own strengths and obstacles. I think that I
- 1:32:01Speaker 4: think that it starts with what I was talking about,
- 1:32:04Speaker 4: with the curiosity and being willing to ask questions of
- 1:32:07Speaker 4: these people that you would be hiring, like saying, hey,
- 1:32:10Speaker 4: here am I deliverables? Which of these do you feel
- 1:32:14Speaker 4: is an obstacle for you? And can you find a
- 1:32:17Speaker 4: way to do that differently? And if not, that might
- 1:32:20Speaker 4: not be the job for them. But there are so
- 1:32:22Speaker 4: many different ways to produce a podcast, to to write
- 1:32:25Speaker 4: a show, to act in something, to light, Like, there's
- 1:32:28Speaker 4: so many maybe not light, but there's so many different
- 1:32:30Speaker 4: ways you could do stuff that like maybe just because
- 1:32:33Speaker 4: it's different doesn't mean it's worse. It might be better,
- 1:32:36Speaker 4: And you just have to there's maybe a way to
- 1:32:40Speaker 4: sell this better than what I'm going to say, but
- 1:32:41Speaker 4: you just have to be patient with learning different ways
- 1:32:44Speaker 4: people not just work but communicate, and by having that
- 1:32:49Speaker 4: kind of diversity, not just necessarily neuro diverse, but like
- 1:32:54Speaker 4: black people, white people, those are the big two, but
- 1:32:57Speaker 4: like you know, people from different different different ways their
- 1:33:00Speaker 4: mind works in different cultures to work together. But like
- 1:33:04Speaker 4: the truth is that that our show had somebody that
- 1:33:09Speaker 4: was there that she's also on the spectrum. Her name
- 1:33:13Speaker 4: is Alane Hall. She's fantastic. She works on on Atypical
- 1:33:15Speaker 4: and works with a lot of shows. If there's if
- 1:33:17Speaker 4: there's autistic people, she's probably involved in it in some way.
- 1:33:21Speaker 4: But what her job was basically there was to facilitate
- 1:33:24Speaker 4: and to help out people that have their needs. But
- 1:33:26Speaker 4: what I noticed, most of what she was doing wasn't
- 1:33:29Speaker 4: necessarily helping at least the lead characters with things that
- 1:33:34Speaker 4: they need as much as it was being kind of
- 1:33:36Speaker 4: like a middle person to the production, so not translating,
- 1:33:41Speaker 4: but basically in shorthand something like that. And the reason
- 1:33:45Speaker 4: that's necessary is because not enough people have worked with
- 1:33:47Speaker 4: that kind of diverse kind of people. But once they do,
- 1:33:50Speaker 4: then it's just working with somebody who's a little bit different.
- 1:33:53Speaker 4: Does that make sense?
- 1:33:55Speaker 12: Oh?
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: Absolutely absolutely?
- 1:33:58Speaker 3: Do you want to ask? Do you want to ask
- 1:33:59Speaker 3: a question? Because he made me feel like I hogged
- 1:34:01Speaker 3: the whole interview.
- 1:34:02Speaker 2: No, I don't want to ask anything, Rick rick I.
- 1:34:05Speaker 2: I first of all, it was nice to meet your parents.
- 1:34:08Speaker 2: That was really cool.
- 1:34:09Speaker 4: I come home all the time.
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: That's good. Do you live in You live in the
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: Cleveland area proper?
- 1:34:16Speaker 4: Yeah? I don't like to say exactly where, but like
- 1:34:21Speaker 4: within within twenty minutes of Cleveland. But I live in
- 1:34:24Speaker 4: Los Angeles. My family lives.
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: Here, right, But do you do?
- 1:34:27Speaker 8: You?
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: Are you?
- 1:34:29Speaker 2: I've talked on a podcast a lot about the Cleveland cuisine.
- 1:34:32Speaker 2: I'm a huge fan of Cleveland cuisine.
- 1:34:34Speaker 4: Great food, great theater here, great theater.
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: I didn't I never We're the first.
- 1:34:39Speaker 4: Stop for all touring UH Broadway shows, so like not
- 1:34:43Speaker 4: every every show goes every city, but every show comes
- 1:34:46Speaker 4: to Cleveland and comes to Cleveland first, and we have
- 1:34:49Speaker 4: a great theater district and it's there's a lot of
- 1:34:52Speaker 4: there's a lot of it's Cleveland's awesome. And then when
- 1:34:55Speaker 4: lebron came, obviously he's not any more. But truthfully, when
- 1:34:57Speaker 4: he came and changed downtown like everyone, they were building
- 1:35:00Speaker 4: new flats and it just became kind of relatively cool
- 1:35:03Speaker 4: and Cleveland.
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: The r n C changed a lot of Cleveland four
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: years ago.
- 1:35:08Speaker 2: All so me and Chris were out there doing a
- 1:35:10Speaker 2: movie right before the election, and they were building hotels
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: just to house the people.
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: For the rn C.
- 1:35:19Speaker 4: Oh like a small Olympics. How they just build new stuff.
- 1:35:22Speaker 2: Right, But these hotels went on to because we came after,
- 1:35:26Speaker 2: and so the hotels were still there, like they literally
- 1:35:29Speaker 2: the hotel we were staying and was built for the
- 1:35:31Speaker 2: rn the rn C.
- 1:35:33Speaker 3: But thank you if we keep don't cut out.
- 1:35:39Speaker 4: The audio was say, Zach looks so bad.
- 1:35:43Speaker 2: I really really, I really had nothing to ask, to
- 1:35:48Speaker 2: be honest with you, since he gave me the since
- 1:35:51Speaker 2: he gave me the floor.
- 1:35:53Speaker 3: Is not letting me ask anything in the interview. I'm like,
- 1:35:56Speaker 3: I'm sorry, man, I'm sorry, what's your question?
- 1:35:58Speaker 4: So the Cleland food.
- 1:36:02Speaker 2: It's delicious man. I had a great time in Cleveland.
- 1:36:05Speaker 2: That's one of it's It was a great time.
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: It rocks all right, like Cleveland rocks.
- 1:36:12Speaker 3: Great guests. Check out Rick Lastman dot com go see
- 1:36:16Speaker 3: him live if he ever comes to the main.
- 1:36:18Speaker 4: Thing I want to plug. The main thing I want
- 1:36:19Speaker 4: to plug is and what I'm I'm so proud of
- 1:36:22Speaker 4: is my podcast. I think is awesome and inches yes, no, no, no,
- 1:36:26Speaker 4: I appreciate it if I push, but take your Shoes
- 1:36:29Speaker 4: Off and uh, and it's audio and YouTube, but we

- 1:36:47Speaker 3: want Donald to have the whole experience of being on
- 1:36:50Speaker 3: your show.
- 1:36:50Speaker 4: Donald, I think you'd like it. It's great.
- 1:36:53Speaker 2: I don't Rick, I don't do other people's podcasts because
- 1:36:55Speaker 2: I say a lot of things that he really doesn't
- 1:36:57Speaker 2: will get me in trouble.
- 1:36:58Speaker 4: I understand. He means he let me, let me, let
- 1:37:00Speaker 4: me let me hurdle that hold on, Rick Zach, I'll
- 1:37:03Speaker 4: take it from here. Donald, I got it, Zach.

- 1:37:21Speaker 4: don't even post it. I won't.
- 1:37:23Speaker 1: Okay, Bet, I like that, I do, Zach, I was much.
- 1:37:26Speaker 3: I fucking hate you, but I love you. But I
- 1:37:29Speaker 3: also want to say that, Yeah. I think Donald sometimes
- 1:37:32Speaker 3: needs the safety net of knowing that he can have
- 1:37:35Speaker 3: someone clip something he says that he doesn't want to
- 1:37:38Speaker 3: have said because he enjoys marijuana a lot, and sometimes
- 1:37:42Speaker 3: his words I get it.
- 1:37:43Speaker 2: Sometimes, you know, big, big thoughts lead to baked mistakes.
- 1:37:48Speaker 3: A great T shirt. That's a great T shirt. Write
- 1:37:51Speaker 3: down Donald, you know, quotes, quotes, and then put a
- 1:37:54Speaker 3: line that says Donald's fa on him. Put that on
- 1:37:56Speaker 3: a shirt.
- 1:37:58Speaker 4: Craig Robinson said the same thing Craig Robinson doesn't like
- 1:38:00Speaker 4: going on podcasts because he gets stone. He doesn't know
- 1:38:02Speaker 4: what he's gonna say. But you guys got Craig on
- 1:38:04Speaker 4: because you guys knew how to handle it. I think
- 1:38:07Speaker 4: you will. You would love my podcast.
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: All right. I mean you've said some questionable things on
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: this one.
- 1:38:14Speaker 3: No, he's great, he's come on, man, you're great, Rick,
- 1:38:18Speaker 3: Thanks so much for coming on. We love you very much.

- 1:38:34Speaker 1: I mean like the Jewish people.
- 1:38:35Speaker 4: Oh you're saying thanks for having me, Zach.
- 1:38:38Speaker 3: You're saying we have space lasers? Are you saying we
- 1:38:40Speaker 3: have space lasers?
- 1:38:41Speaker 4: I didn't say what are you saying about the r
- 1:38:42Speaker 4: n C?
- 1:38:43Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:38:43Speaker 3: What are you saying about space lasers?
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: I didn't say anything about all right on that note?
- 1:38:50Speaker 4: No, no, no, no, Donald, Where are you from originally
- 1:38:54Speaker 4: New York? Good food, great great food, great great food.
- 1:39:06Speaker 3: I love that guy.
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: Yeah, but you get it, you know what I mean?
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: You get it? And and and.
- 1:39:14Speaker 3: Well now I understand so much more. But before I
- 1:39:16Speaker 3: knew what what what challenges he was facing, I I
- 1:39:19Speaker 3: saw every time I would talk to him, I simultaneously
- 1:39:23Speaker 3: I was laughing but wanted to wring his neck because
- 1:39:26Speaker 3: so he's so rick.
- 1:39:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:39:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I remember my first time meeting him being like, damn,
- 1:39:33Speaker 2: he's just not gonna leave. He's gonna stay here and
- 1:39:35Speaker 2: talk to us this whole time, isn't he? And he did,
- 1:39:38Speaker 2: And I remember that I laughed through most of it,
- 1:39:42Speaker 2: but I remember thinking, dude, we're.
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: Not supposed to be talking right now.
- 1:39:45Speaker 2: They're doing a take right now, and he's in my
- 1:39:47Speaker 2: ear like and then so and then so, and I
- 1:39:50Speaker 2: was like, what is with this guy?
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: And then to hear all of that, it was refreshing to.
- 1:39:55Speaker 3: Know it so long with him.
- 1:39:57Speaker 1: Yeah, we almost did two hours. He's a lot of fun.
- 1:39:59Speaker 4: Man.
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: He's one of those.
- 1:40:00Speaker 3: People that's a good episode. He's so funny.
- 1:40:03Speaker 4: All right.
- 1:40:03Speaker 3: That was really good and really fun and what an
- 1:40:06Speaker 3: interesting guy. Thank you guys for tuning in.
