- 2:17Speaker 1: that may be a problem right now. Father God, we
- 2:20Speaker 1: ask you to make it all new and bless us
- 2:26Speaker 1: as only you can. And Father God, I also ask
- 2:30Speaker 1: that you continue to watch over the mckinnedy family tonight
- 2:36Speaker 1: during the loss of their loved one. We thank you you,
- 2:43Speaker 1: honor we praise your name in Jesus name, ma'am love
- 2:50Speaker 1: with God. But yes, ma'am, I have no clue as
- 2:55Speaker 1: to what is actually happening with this thing. So what
- 3:02Speaker 1: we're gonna do is just keep talking until I figure
- 3:06Speaker 1: this thing on out, because absolutely, But anyway, how was
- 3:13Speaker 1: your day today?
- 3:17Speaker 2: It's pretty good the whole. Now you have asked about how.
- 3:21Speaker 1: The story, well, I'm scared to ask them about I'm
- 3:27Speaker 1: scared to anybody about that week because my week has
- 3:31Speaker 1: been trash.
- 3:33Speaker 2: I have.
- 3:34Speaker 1: I came back to Georgia and I have to leave
- 3:40Speaker 1: back out in the morning to go back to South
- 3:43Speaker 1: Carolina so that I can get in contact with my
- 3:46Speaker 1: mother's doctors because they're saying her breast cancer came back.
- 3:55Speaker 1: She's eighty she's eighty four years old, and they're not
- 4:01Speaker 1: going to do chemo or rad anything. Yeah. I'm just
- 4:10Speaker 1: like father, I don't know what it is that you're
- 4:15Speaker 1: trying to teach me through this, but learn and I
- 4:23Speaker 1: learned it in peace, like.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it's okay, it's all work yourself out. I got
- 4:30Speaker 2: a plane. It's around my reason.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Sometimes I just wish he let me in on it.
- 4:35Speaker 1: But I know that how that's supposed to know.
- 4:39Speaker 2: And if he do, can you let me know what
- 4:41Speaker 2: you said you so I can get it on Macau.
- 4:43Speaker 2: I trust believe he.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Talked to you when you're quiet.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Day.
- 4:53Speaker 4: He talked to you your sleep because.
- 4:55Speaker 1: You've been doing when you awake.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Look, Becau, won't be quiet.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Listen. Well, since we have no plan as to what
- 5:07Speaker 1: we were going to talk about, we're going to talk
- 5:09Speaker 1: about the surgery that I was supposed to have that
- 5:13Speaker 1: I am going to have June twenty fifth. It is
- 5:23Speaker 1: called an interstem interstem therapy, and what that does, I'm
- 5:36Speaker 1: getting ready to read it. The inner stem system is
- 5:40Speaker 1: a surgical implant used to treat bladder and bowel control problems.
- 5:45Speaker 1: It works by sending mild electrical pulses to the sacral nerves,
- 5:50Speaker 1: which control latter and bowel functions. This therapy can help
- 5:54Speaker 1: reduce symptoms like incontinence, urgency, and frequency, and improve quality
- 6:01Speaker 1: of life for individuals experiencing these issues. Can I get
- 6:05Speaker 1: an a man on the the big quality of life girl, Listen,
- 6:13Speaker 1: Glory to God.
- 6:13Speaker 2: When I tell you I'm excited for you, I'm excited.
- 6:17Speaker 2: I mean I don't have that particular surgery, but if
- 6:20Speaker 2: only I probably would have went that route. Listen, I
- 6:22Speaker 2: don't know what would have happened, but I'm glad. I'm
- 6:24Speaker 2: thank you for the route I did go. But I
- 6:26Speaker 2: am so excited for you because listen, you know, you
- 6:29Speaker 2: know we both know about this journey. Okay wegg, Yeah,
- 6:34Speaker 2: this is not fun. So when I tell you I'm
- 6:37Speaker 2: excited for you on that discuss, who door's gonna be
- 6:41Speaker 2: opening up? You ain't gonna you ain't gonna know what
- 6:43Speaker 2: to do with yourself. I really don't know what to
- 6:45Speaker 2: do with myself, for real, just.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Saying a lot. I don't know what I'm doing with myself.
- 6:52Speaker 2: You really gonna not know what to do with yourself
- 6:54Speaker 2: because when I tell you it's gonna give you a
- 6:55Speaker 2: whole another change of life, it's gonna you ain't gonna
- 6:59Speaker 2: You're gonna be like, what did I do before? Without
- 7:02Speaker 2: Why I didn't have this years ago? Because when I
- 7:03Speaker 2: tell you, when I had mine, I was like, well,
- 7:07Speaker 2: not that particular surgy with my Slingker theater. I was like, father,
- 7:11Speaker 2: I could have used this a long time ago. What happened? Yeah,
- 7:18Speaker 2: So I'm excited for you, and you know you know
- 7:20Speaker 2: I'm gonna be praying, and I'm gonna be here. I'll
- 7:23Speaker 2: be back from where I'm going, so I'll be back then.
- 7:27Speaker 1: So absolutely I will be in my hometown of Spartanburg
- 7:33Speaker 1: when I have the surgery done. They're going to do
- 7:38Speaker 1: it in office because it's not that evasive.
- 7:43Speaker 2: It's not that invasive. Oh that's even beta. Oh my gosh.
- 7:48Speaker 1: What I'm getting first is the lead, and I keep
- 7:53Speaker 1: that unless they change, unless they change how they do that.
- 7:58Speaker 1: I'll keep that for fourteen days to see if it works.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Got you. Oh wow.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Then then after the fourteen days, the uh, the implementation
- 8:10Speaker 1: of the the part of it.
- 8:12Speaker 2: And that's still all impatient, all of it is still
- 8:15Speaker 2: outa wow, that's amazing. Look at God. Wow. We had
- 8:23Speaker 2: nothing like this, So you know, God give people some.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Knowledge, right right, And you know, just having to go
- 8:30Speaker 1: back and think about all the different things that I've
- 8:35Speaker 1: actually tried, you know, not work. Living like this has been.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Hard, yes, ma'am.
- 8:50Speaker 1: And you don't realize how hard it is until you
- 8:53Speaker 1: become an adult.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:56Speaker 1: I was frustrating as a kid and a teenager, but
- 9:00Speaker 1: I didn't know what it was.
- 9:02Speaker 2: So like.
- 9:06Speaker 1: It's you know, what is what is wrong with me,
- 9:09Speaker 1: but as having more of an understanding of my body
- 9:18Speaker 1: and spin a bid for the as a whole, you know,
- 9:24Speaker 1: you know, being having a different.
- 9:28Speaker 2: But now we're just at the stage of exhaust this is,
- 9:38Speaker 2: you know, can we just just a little bit and
- 9:43Speaker 2: we have some relief, just a little.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Bit, that's all I need, just meg. And people don't understand,
- 9:53Speaker 1: you know, what it's like to live with the disability,
- 9:56Speaker 1: you know, being born with the They assume that you
- 10:02Speaker 1: can do what they can do, and then you can't.
- 10:06Speaker 1: They look at you funny, like you got to play. Okay,
- 10:13Speaker 1: it's funny that you say the play because somebody, somebody
- 10:16Speaker 1: in my family. I can't remember who it was, I
- 10:21Speaker 1: was asking about my disability but worded it in a
- 10:26Speaker 1: way of its sounding contagious, and I was like, nothing
- 10:33Speaker 1: I got going on, you can catch catch you you fine?
- 10:40Speaker 1: You fine, I'm fine, It's gonna be fine.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Be please. You know, if I could give it to somebody,
- 10:46Speaker 2: people would find way to be.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Honest, I wouldn't even want to give it to anybody
- 10:50Speaker 1: simply because.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Picking was just much.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, out of everything I deal with, you know,
- 11:00Speaker 1: the spin is I would rather deal with the hydro
- 11:03Speaker 1: syphilis than the spina biffita. Like the headaches, they hurt,
- 11:09Speaker 1: they do, no hurt. But the spina biff of that
- 11:15Speaker 1: that's different. That that that's embarrassing.
- 11:19Speaker 2: That's a whole nother ball of whack, is what it is.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Yeah, m hm m h. But have you tried anything
- 11:32Speaker 1: that that well, nothing corrects it. Let me say that
- 11:36Speaker 1: because there's no correction. M you got it. You got it.
- 11:43Speaker 1: They just come up with ways to make it where
- 11:49Speaker 1: you can live with it a little better.
- 11:52Speaker 2: M h.
- 11:54Speaker 1: How many things have you tried before you found that
- 11:57Speaker 1: right thing that worked.
- 11:59Speaker 2: The funny part is I had never really tried a
- 12:02Speaker 2: lot of stuff growing up. My mom just automatically assumed
- 12:06Speaker 2: that I just needed to cast and I would be okay. Well,
- 12:12Speaker 2: didn't serve a purpose because why because I was already
- 12:17Speaker 2: done by the time I want to go do that,
- 12:20Speaker 2: So that weren't gonna help at all. So they tried.
- 12:23Speaker 2: They tried to put me on a pill. I think
- 12:26Speaker 2: they had, like the pill that's supposed to kind of
- 12:29Speaker 2: lock you up or whatever until you your That didn't work.
- 12:32Speaker 2: That didn't work for me. I ain't gonna deal with that.
- 12:35Speaker 1: I'm currently taking probably that same pill.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Yeah, and they.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Told me to conue to take it up until my surgery.
- 12:44Speaker 2: I feel And because finan bsita is like a snowflake,
- 12:47Speaker 2: everybody's different, so it's probably it's probably somewhat gonna help you.
- 12:51Speaker 2: That's why they were telling you to take it. For me.
- 12:53Speaker 2: It didn't work because why because when I found out
- 12:56Speaker 2: at thirty plus years old, my thing was already hanging.
- 13:01Speaker 2: My eureka was already hanging, so my bladder wasn't holding
- 13:05Speaker 2: anything anyway. So no matter what I did, it still
- 13:09Speaker 2: wasn't gonna work because why did you still going in
- 13:11Speaker 2: six sacks? So that's what they had to go do
- 13:14Speaker 2: and is fix it. They had to lift it. It's
- 13:16Speaker 2: sort of like, uh, they say, when a pregnant woman
- 13:19Speaker 2: has you know, has a lot of kids, just like
- 13:22Speaker 2: my it just kind of like hangs down after a while.
- 13:25Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying.
- 13:26Speaker 2: I have a leakage issues. And that's what I had
- 13:28Speaker 2: my whole life. So I didn't have no kids. It
- 13:31Speaker 2: just the way I was going with it. And so
- 13:33Speaker 2: when I actually got with the eurrogs that actually found
- 13:36Speaker 2: out what was happening, I was like, are you arian?
- 13:40Speaker 2: He was like, yeah, we was going and lift it
- 13:43Speaker 2: up and then you'd be fine. I was like, what,
- 13:46Speaker 2: thirty plus years old, Okay, come on. So the first
- 13:50Speaker 2: time that he did the surgery, and I probably would
- 13:54Speaker 2: say maybe a week later, I noticed a huge different.
- 13:57Speaker 2: I know, it's a huge difference. When I went and
- 13:59Speaker 2: saw that man for the follow up, I hugged that
- 14:01Speaker 2: man because I think you have changed my life completely completely. Yeah,
- 14:07Speaker 2: but that's the only thing I've had done is called
- 14:09Speaker 2: that you just slam. But other than that, I've never
- 14:12Speaker 2: had anything else done because my mom just didn't realize
- 14:15Speaker 2: that's what my issue was, and I didn't have a
- 14:17Speaker 2: urologist that to figure that out.
- 14:21Speaker 1: So yeah, I wasn't offered anything to begin with. So
- 14:29Speaker 1: you know, once it started to become a problem, they
- 14:33Speaker 1: put me on pills, and the first it was that
- 14:37Speaker 1: they put me on didn't work. So now they have
- 14:40Speaker 1: something else. It works for the most part, but not.
- 14:47Speaker 4: Great.
- 14:48Speaker 1: And so I'm assuming that's why they want me to
- 14:51Speaker 1: keep taking it up until I have the surgery, and
- 14:55Speaker 1: possibly I guess, I don't know, but.
- 15:00Speaker 2: It's try to just preparing your body for it. That's
- 15:02Speaker 2: probably why they tell you to keep taking it. It's
- 15:04Speaker 2: just preparing for the procedures so your body can get
- 15:08Speaker 2: kind of used to what it's supposed to probably do after.
- 15:11Speaker 1: You know, I'm hoping that, I'm hoping that it works
- 15:15Speaker 1: because the next step is botox and botox to the bladder.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Thirty three sticks mm hmm, and then they do it
- 15:35Speaker 1: twice a year.
- 15:37Speaker 2: I'm not I'm not gon we're gonna need this to work,
- 15:41Speaker 2: and the name of Jesus, but it's no need for
- 15:43Speaker 2: you to I mean, I wouldn't want you to keep
- 15:45Speaker 2: going through that type of thing, you know. I mean,
- 15:47Speaker 2: we want some relief, we want some help, we want
- 15:50Speaker 2: to be able to live normal lives. But you know,
- 15:55Speaker 2: it's just that's a lot. That's a lot to have
- 15:57Speaker 2: to go through. Do your boy for one, and then
- 16:01Speaker 2: for you, that's that's emotional, that's very emotional stress. So
- 16:05Speaker 2: to see you know what I mean.
- 16:06Speaker 1: So and it does a lot self esteem mm hmmm.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Because you as far as relationships go, whether it's ships
- 16:20Speaker 1: or trying to date or anything, just trying to find
- 16:26Speaker 1: a way to talk about it without them either feeling
- 16:31Speaker 1: sorry for you or without them feeling.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Like, you know, they don't know what to say.
- 16:40Speaker 4: They don't they can't feel with it or you know,
- 16:44Speaker 4: what have you.
- 16:46Speaker 2: And that's the part that the killing me with people
- 16:48Speaker 2: is that people don't really actually realize that, Okay, yeah
- 16:52Speaker 2: we have those issues, and yeah we have to wear
- 16:54Speaker 2: certain things. Da da da da, But as we all
- 16:58Speaker 2: get older, that's going to happen. Yeah, they don't have
- 17:02Speaker 2: people in that's at homes wearing them for nothing. They
- 17:05Speaker 2: got old, They couldn't. They can't go by and tell
- 17:07Speaker 2: them it's what we just was born with. The clock
- 17:13Speaker 2: arreay on us.
- 17:14Speaker 1: And the thing, the thing that's aggravating me the most
- 17:18Speaker 1: about a lot of it now is we have women
- 17:23Speaker 1: that will go and buy those for their monthly instead
- 17:28Speaker 1: of you know what they're regularly used to.
- 17:36Speaker 2: So I so then we went out on the shelf
- 17:39Speaker 2: because y'all invoted for yourself and for you, right, they
- 17:47Speaker 2: got they got big bick lining pads that you could use.
- 17:50Speaker 2: I mean, if you that have that much of an issue,
- 17:53Speaker 2: why use what we propably need? You can get a
- 17:55Speaker 2: bigger pad, right.
- 17:58Speaker 1: But then, you know, I do understand some people that
- 18:01Speaker 1: you know, lead real bad, you know with their monthly
- 18:07Speaker 1: or whatever, because I went through that too. I had metriosis,
- 18:12Speaker 1: which made cycle come on and stay on m hm,
- 18:17Speaker 1: and so it was a lot, It was a lot.
- 18:26Speaker 1: But I just feel like, you know, there there's other options.
- 18:31Speaker 1: There should be other options for them as far as
- 18:35Speaker 1: you know what they can use to protect their their set,
- 18:39Speaker 1: their clothing, because that's basically all bulls down to, Yeah,
- 18:45Speaker 1: trying to keep your close together, because that's what we're
- 18:49Speaker 1: gonna do, right, because not only do we have to
- 18:54Speaker 1: deal with flow, we got everything else going on to
- 19:01Speaker 1: I just feel like it's not fair to go in
- 19:04Speaker 1: the store looking for what you're looking for and you
- 19:06Speaker 1: can't find it because somebody else done bought it and
- 19:09Speaker 1: they use it for the most craziest reasons. Like I
- 19:15Speaker 1: heard a lady say that she buys them and she
- 19:19Speaker 1: wears them on road trips when she takes along road
- 19:22Speaker 1: trips so that she doesn't have to stop and oh, okay, yeah,
- 19:27Speaker 1: I'm like, now, if God put you in a position
- 19:31Speaker 1: where you had to wear that all the time.
- 19:33Speaker 2: You wouldn't want to hm hm hmmm. And all you
- 19:37Speaker 2: doing is yourself So you want to say the eighty
- 19:40Speaker 2: six hour drive somewhere right, and all you doing is
- 19:43Speaker 2: messing your own slide up, man, because you're probably gonna
- 19:45Speaker 2: have a UCI buys time you get to you because
- 19:48Speaker 2: you're holding it. Absolutely why right, Wow, that is that
- 19:55Speaker 2: is crazy. I would have looked at her and been like, yeah.
- 20:00Speaker 1: It's a lot, it's a lot. And I know that
- 20:05Speaker 1: they don't realize stuff, but I feel like they should
- 20:09Speaker 1: be educated on certain things like that because you know,
- 20:15Speaker 1: not not everybody can you know, do anything with a
- 20:22Speaker 1: tampa or whatever. So you know a tampa everybody, and
- 20:30Speaker 1: you know, for me, I feel like, if you know
- 20:33Speaker 1: that you can't use a tampa, there is no point
- 20:36Speaker 1: in buying them because you're preventing somebody who can benefit
- 20:41Speaker 1: from from actually you.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Know mm hm exactly. Yeah, you're right.
- 20:47Speaker 1: And so I feel the same way about the briefs
- 20:54Speaker 1: and things like that. I think when in general, we
- 21:01Speaker 1: don't we don't have a soft spot for each other.
- 21:08Speaker 4: As as.
- 21:13Speaker 1: We're not understanding m you know, for the most part,
- 21:20Speaker 1: a lot of people would assume that, you know, I
- 21:24Speaker 1: wake up every morning, I get my days started, that
- 21:28Speaker 1: I can do the same thing that they can do.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Some of it I might be able to, but I
- 21:34Speaker 1: have to do it in.
- 21:35Speaker 4: A different way.
- 21:37Speaker 1: And then I just cannot do. And that part of
- 21:42Speaker 1: it trying to get understanding as far as what I'm
- 21:47Speaker 1: not able to do, and you know, getting people to
- 21:50Speaker 1: understand that it's not me making an excuse, that it's
- 21:55Speaker 1: real that I cannot do.
- 22:01Speaker 2: You know, I just.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Wish that people in general would soften their hearts a
- 22:07Speaker 1: little bit, and yeah, you know, just be a little
- 22:12Speaker 1: more kind, Like, don't people choose the people you want
- 22:16Speaker 1: to be kind? To be kind to everybody because you
- 22:19Speaker 1: want everybody to be kind to you.
- 22:21Speaker 2: You know. Yeah, but you know what the interesting part
- 22:24Speaker 2: is about this if God has given you a platform
- 22:28Speaker 2: so people don't people don't know what they don't know.
- 22:31Speaker 2: So you are being used to teach them what they
- 22:35Speaker 2: don't know because some of them just don't know. They
- 22:38Speaker 2: just they can't tell. They're not trying to learn it.
- 22:41Speaker 2: I give anything get up in the morning and not
- 22:43Speaker 2: have to do what I gotta do. I can just
- 22:45Speaker 2: flop myself down and going by my day. Yet NA
- 22:47Speaker 2: think of that.
- 22:50Speaker 1: And I told you, I told you when I spent
- 22:53Speaker 1: time with my cousin at her mom's house, the dog
- 22:58Speaker 1: has spinding the bit for them.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Love that, Like I'm scared of peoples. I swept on everything.
- 23:09Speaker 2: I'm I'm I'm a friend.
- 23:12Speaker 1: But when I tell you that particular dog and she's
- 23:15Speaker 1: fourteen years old, she her name is Casper.
- 23:20Speaker 4: She's all she's all.
- 23:22Speaker 1: White, and she's deaf on top of having spina biffity,
- 23:28Speaker 1: but she can see and you know, she can move,
- 23:33Speaker 1: but she can't move like other dogs. And when the
- 23:39Speaker 1: lady that owns the dog told me what you know
- 23:42Speaker 1: the dog had going on, I was like, oh my god,
- 23:44Speaker 1: I'm in love, Like you don't want this dog? Let
- 23:49Speaker 1: me have a yeah, because you know she she's sweet,
- 23:56Speaker 1: Like she laid beside me the entire time that I
- 23:59Speaker 1: was there, and when she felt like it was time
- 24:03Speaker 1: for me to go to bed, she come and like
- 24:06Speaker 1: because she she's deaf, her bark is different, so she
- 24:11Speaker 1: and make noise and like take her head and nudge
- 24:15Speaker 1: my legs, like get up.
- 24:21Speaker 4: Lady right like you you holding a little or whatever?
- 24:26Speaker 1: You know that being said spine, A bit of the
- 24:31Speaker 1: what I found out about it is that you don't
- 24:34Speaker 1: have to always be born with it. It can have yeah,
- 24:40Speaker 1: And that was crazy because it was like how but
- 24:46Speaker 1: they explained.
- 24:46Speaker 4: To you how you can.
- 24:50Speaker 1: There's certain things that you can do to the spine
- 24:52Speaker 1: and the cerebellum, the connection between the two that can
- 24:59Speaker 1: cau was it like there's people that are actually walking
- 25:02Speaker 1: around with spina biff of the today and don't know it.
- 25:07Speaker 1: It would take a car accident or something like that.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Because it's your back, they can't necessarily dictate where it's
- 25:16Speaker 1: coming from. That's why, Uh, you know a lot of
- 25:19Speaker 1: people go to these chiropractice and stuff and getting their
- 25:23Speaker 1: backs and stuff pops. I was the spina biffita. We
- 25:27Speaker 1: can't do that, so I've never I don't. Yeah, I
- 25:33Speaker 1: would never imagine on to somebody trying to get my
- 25:38Speaker 1: bones popped and they pop something and that that I
- 25:42Speaker 1: need and I'm messed up for a minute. But yeah,
- 25:53Speaker 1: I I'm excited about this, this surgery. I've ever been
- 26:01Speaker 1: excited about going to sleep, but especially not when they
- 26:07Speaker 1: have to put you under. Yeah, because it's not invasive
- 26:15Speaker 1: or whatever. They they said I should be back on
- 26:19Speaker 1: my feet within a couple of days. They didn't say days,
- 26:24Speaker 1: so that Yeah, I'm excited. I'm excited.
- 26:31Speaker 2: I'm excited. I can't wait for me and tell me
- 26:33Speaker 2: it's done.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Because nobody understands what we deal with. But if I
- 26:42Speaker 1: call you girl, guess what you are?
- 26:46Speaker 4: We have right?
- 26:49Speaker 1: They would be like, really, that's what you choose to
- 26:52Speaker 1: talk about.
- 26:53Speaker 2: But that's all life and the thing about it. That's
- 26:58Speaker 2: what I find funny about the dog and you and
- 27:01Speaker 2: the dog, because that's like humans. When I first actually
- 27:05Speaker 2: met people on social media that has spinas, I was
- 27:09Speaker 2: in owe why because I'm like, oh, this is my tribe,
- 27:12Speaker 2: you know, I say, because I've never had I have
- 27:15Speaker 2: a brother with spina baseho, but he was giving up
- 27:16Speaker 2: for adoption, so we don't really we connect, but we
- 27:18Speaker 2: don't connect right. To actually meet someone like you, says
- 27:24Speaker 2: and just be able to chop it up about just
- 27:27Speaker 2: anything and not feel uncomfortable, it's a blessing because you
- 27:31Speaker 2: can't talk to everybody about what we do because they
- 27:35Speaker 2: gonna look like, well, I'm gonna talk about that? Or
- 27:37Speaker 2: why do you guys talk about that? So that's what
- 27:39Speaker 2: I'm dealing with.
- 27:41Speaker 4: I feel like.
- 27:44Speaker 1: I'm a little more open now about it because look
- 27:51Speaker 1: at me. I'm sitting here on a podcast talking about
- 27:54Speaker 1: spina biffity, and that's not something that I would normally
- 27:58Speaker 1: do under any other circumstances. However, I do believe that
- 28:04Speaker 1: God chose this path for me to raise awareness because
- 28:11Speaker 1: people don't know what it is. And you can't be
- 28:14Speaker 1: mad if you know, people don't know because they you know,
- 28:18Speaker 1: they judge what they don't understand. And so I feel
- 28:21Speaker 1: like I'm being used to teach h what it is.
- 28:27Speaker 1: And I mean, the awareness month is October, just like
- 28:32Speaker 1: breast cancer awareness, just like suicide awareness and sexual assault awareness,
- 28:42Speaker 1: all of those things take place in October. So spin
- 28:45Speaker 1: of Spina Biffita really really does take the back seat
- 28:50Speaker 1: to a lot of stuff. And I try to get
- 28:55Speaker 1: everybody involved, you know, as far as my family, you know,
- 29:00Speaker 1: and and social media. I asked people to wear something
- 29:05Speaker 1: yellow or wear something for how and post a picture
- 29:10Speaker 1: and tag me and as their way of you know,
- 29:14Speaker 1: showing support, showing love. So Hi, Hi, thank y'all for
- 29:27Speaker 1: joining us tonight. We're just chopping it up talking about
- 29:32Speaker 1: birth defects. And I'm sorry that y'all can't see me because.
- 29:38Speaker 4: My camera is.
- 29:42Speaker 2: You know. Yeah, thank you.
- 29:49Speaker 4: Yeah, she's a crier.
- 29:50Speaker 1: She might break and I might break down and cry too, So.
- 29:55Speaker 2: Yeah that both you know, we both.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Right, I mean, I'm on a real emotional roller coaster today.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Right, you're making it through. You don't need You're done.
- 30:13Speaker 1: It's hard. And then that's another thing, being born with
- 30:17Speaker 1: a disability, having a parent that's elderly, that has breast
- 30:24Speaker 1: cancer and what is it dementia? H So being an
- 30:36Speaker 1: only child, having to deal with not only what I
- 30:41Speaker 1: deal with, but what mom deals with, and you know,
- 30:45Speaker 1: trying to navigate from Georgia to South Carolina to North
- 30:49Speaker 1: Carolina to make sure she's good. And because she's stubborn
- 30:54Speaker 1: as all get out, like she We've been trying to
- 30:56Speaker 1: get that lady to move and she's like, like, well,
- 31:00Speaker 1: what I'm gonna do with my furniture?
- 31:04Speaker 4: Sell it, maybe give it away something.
- 31:10Speaker 1: But and I mean, I understand where she's coming from.
- 31:14Speaker 1: You spend a lifetime working, trying to be in a
- 31:19Speaker 1: place where you can enjoy the fruits in your labor
- 31:22Speaker 1: and stuff like that.
- 31:24Speaker 2: That lady, Uh, but you know what Gods don't. God
- 31:30Speaker 2: gives you the strength that you need to keep it moving.
- 31:32Speaker 2: And you know you got mean you need to vent
- 31:34Speaker 2: call or yell or girl, we got to ride the
- 31:37Speaker 2: zack Troy, send the phone. You know, I'm still on
- 31:39Speaker 2: the phone with you. Get you there, you.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Three hour drive.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Listen. If I'm gonna be your sister, I'm gonna be
- 31:48Speaker 2: your sister. If I'm gonna be that person, I'm gonna
- 31:50Speaker 2: be that person because I know that she was on
- 31:52Speaker 2: the other foot, you would do the thing.
- 31:54Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 31:55Speaker 2: I just know that. I just know that what you
- 31:56Speaker 2: would do. So that's what we do. So during this time,
- 32:00Speaker 2: I got you. Guys, got you, and you're stronger than
- 32:03Speaker 2: you think. Sure, I don't.
- 32:07Speaker 1: I don't want to be.
- 32:10Speaker 2: I don't want to be.
- 32:11Speaker 1: I want to up in the field position and lay
- 32:14Speaker 1: in the flow and cry.
- 32:17Speaker 2: After like a week, can I just do that? And
- 32:18Speaker 2: the father's like, I'm gonna need you to get up,
- 32:20Speaker 2: and we've got stuff to do. Why are we doing that?
- 32:22Speaker 1: We're gonna let me do that because I enjoyed that
- 32:25Speaker 1: just through much.
- 32:28Speaker 4: Because I don't take.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Naps, I take sleeps. Yeah.
- 32:32Speaker 2: When my father said, now, girl, listen.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Leave me alone for two three hours, two three hours,
- 32:41Speaker 1: leave her alone, I'm saying, I got you.
- 32:45Speaker 2: It's gonna it's gonna be okay. God's got a plan
- 32:48Speaker 2: and he's giving you somewhat of an outlet to be
- 32:52Speaker 2: able to talk here. You know what I'm saying. This
- 32:54Speaker 2: is your platform, this is your outlet. You know, if
- 32:57Speaker 2: you ever need me to come home with chop chopping up,
- 32:59Speaker 2: you you gotta get it out. You gotta let it
- 33:02Speaker 2: out some kind of way, because if you hold it in,
- 33:04Speaker 2: you're gonna be crazy. And we don't need that.
- 33:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I got depending on me, even though, like right
- 33:12Speaker 1: this very moment, I just feel like the world is
- 33:17Speaker 1: crumbling up under me. But it's not, and I know
- 33:22Speaker 1: it's not. This is just one of the things that
- 33:26Speaker 1: I have to go through to get through.
- 33:34Speaker 2: And you got a father you can lean on. You're
- 33:36Speaker 2: just waiting.
- 33:37Speaker 1: I'm trying to do it with my head up and
- 33:40Speaker 1: my chest out, just trying.
- 33:42Speaker 2: To And you ain't gotta always have it out all
- 33:44Speaker 2: the time. You ain't gotta have your head and chest.
- 33:47Speaker 2: It's okay to not be okay some baby, because this
- 33:50Speaker 2: is a lot. You got your own health and your
- 33:52Speaker 2: mama help. That's a lot, beauty, and your only child.
- 33:56Speaker 2: That's a lot.
- 33:57Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a lot.
- 33:58Speaker 2: So it's okay to not be okay, But okay, be
- 34:02Speaker 2: not okay for a little while and then be like, okay, father,
- 34:05Speaker 2: what we're doing now.
- 34:08Speaker 1: And that's where that's where Trevita comes in at because
- 34:13Speaker 1: she'll give me my fifteen minutes to cut up, cry,
- 34:17Speaker 1: show out whatever I need to do, and then, in
- 34:22Speaker 1: only Trevida fashion, you're done, You finish, You get it
- 34:28Speaker 1: all over, you get it all out. But you know,
- 34:32Speaker 1: I'm grateful for both of y'all.
- 34:35Speaker 2: You got to have that person behind you because you're not.
- 34:38Speaker 2: You may feel alone, but you're not alone. I mean,
- 34:41Speaker 2: we always feel alone, but God gives us the people
- 34:44Speaker 2: we need in our lives. And absolutely, you know we
- 34:46Speaker 2: got you. You know we got you. You may not
- 34:48Speaker 2: can be there physically because God knows, you know, if
- 34:50Speaker 2: I had a car, I'll be there with physically every
- 34:52Speaker 2: time you came.
- 34:53Speaker 1: So it's taking everything I got, not the dry to
- 34:56Speaker 1: Virginia because I am not that great yet, but it's coming.
- 35:01Speaker 2: I know. It is girl like.
- 35:05Speaker 1: Just like smirk that got me here. Yeah my car
- 35:10Speaker 1: is blue, so it's smirked yea.
- 35:13Speaker 2: But yeah, it's gonna be okay, But it's gonna be
- 35:17Speaker 2: all right. We got you. Your whole crew got you,
- 35:21Speaker 2: Miss Angeler. Everybody got you. We got to be here
- 35:23Speaker 2: for you, so you know that. But feeling alone. I
- 35:28Speaker 2: understand that. I mean, I got siblings in on some
- 35:30Speaker 2: days I feel like what am doing it by myself?
- 35:34Speaker 2: I got my girls.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Biologically, I have siblings, but they I don't know because
- 35:42Speaker 1: I'm different.
- 35:45Speaker 4: That they or the way that they are.
- 35:48Speaker 1: You know, I had a conversation with my daddy today
- 35:51Speaker 1: and I was telling you, and we've never went that
- 35:54Speaker 1: deep with the conversations because we were talking about if
- 36:00Speaker 1: I had grown up in the family, Like it was
- 36:08Speaker 1: said to me that if my grandmother knew, you know,
- 36:11Speaker 1: about my existence, no matter what I was dealing with
- 36:16Speaker 1: health wise, I would have been in the house with her.
- 36:18Speaker 1: She would me and you know, just knowing that I
- 36:23Speaker 1: had a grandmother that would love me and not see
- 36:28Speaker 1: me as just somebody that can't do for themselves or whatever.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Conversation that I had with my daddy because he was
- 36:37Speaker 1: like he was, you know, he said, I sit and
- 36:41Speaker 1: I think about he said, I look at you all
- 36:43Speaker 1: the time, he said, and I look in your face
- 36:44Speaker 1: and I can see a little girl. He said, I
- 36:47Speaker 1: just don't know what I would have done with the
- 36:49Speaker 1: little girl. He said, because I got these hard headed boys.
- 36:53Speaker 1: And he was like, he said, I don't know how
- 36:57Speaker 1: I would have, you know, tried to raise you. He said,
- 37:00Speaker 1: you probably would have had me wrapped around your pinky.
- 37:03Speaker 1: He said, like you got me now, and it was like,
- 37:07Speaker 1: that's like the highlight of everything he got going on
- 37:11Speaker 1: is to tell.
- 37:11Speaker 4: People got a daughter. You know, it's it's it's cool, but.
- 37:19Speaker 2: That's a blessing because you needed that today.
- 37:21Speaker 1: I did with him.
- 37:23Speaker 4: I did that I needed.
- 37:25Speaker 2: That was a blessing.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Yeah, and that that felt like a hug to me.
- 37:29Speaker 2: That's definitely what it felt like to me. Oh wow, Yeah.
- 37:32Speaker 4: Yeah, he's sweet.
- 37:34Speaker 1: He's sweet.
- 37:35Speaker 2: Wind.
- 37:36Speaker 1: We chopped it up for about forty five minutes, and
- 37:40Speaker 1: that's rare because you talk a whole lot. I don't
- 37:46Speaker 1: never really have that much to say.
- 37:48Speaker 3: And I'm like, okay, well we can get off the phone.
- 37:51Speaker 3: If that's what you're trying to tell me, that ain't it.
- 37:56Speaker 3: I'm just saying. And I'm like, well, it sounds like
- 37:59Speaker 3: you're saying talking. So if that's the case, then we're
- 38:06Speaker 3: just gonna go ahead and let it.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Let it be right, because I know I'm a talker,
- 38:16Speaker 1: so you know me.
- 38:21Speaker 2: Yeah, So I think that's another reason why we click
- 38:25Speaker 2: right people don't know. We will talk for hours.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Yeah, we just got off of a four hour phone conversation.
- 38:36Speaker 1: Like what in the world could we possibly talk about
- 38:40Speaker 1: four hours? If these walls could talk.
- 38:43Speaker 2: We y'all have no clue if these walls could talk.
- 38:48Speaker 2: Oh God, but what God?
- 38:51Speaker 1: Because we.
- 38:54Speaker 2: I'm saying what I'm telling you, I'm so thankful for
- 38:57Speaker 2: you because I don't. I don't talk to others my
- 39:00Speaker 2: other cities like I talk to you. We can't chop
- 39:03Speaker 2: it up like this because they still see someone that's
- 39:06Speaker 2: little deep or No, I'm forty eight years old. I
- 39:10Speaker 2: ain't really anymore. I'm a grown woman saying, trying to
- 39:14Speaker 2: live this life. So yeah, no, and my crazy button's
- 39:18Speaker 2: going back to school like a nut.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Now you're just being obedient and doing what you're called
- 39:25Speaker 1: to do.
- 39:25Speaker 2: Well, I am so so I'm just like father, and
- 39:29Speaker 2: I'm telling you SI I fly. And it was like, okay, father,
- 39:32Speaker 2: are we doing this? Lady said, oh, you've been a
- 39:35Speaker 2: pro Oh okay, father, we're doing okay. That's that's a.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Yeah. He took you back to school. I'm sure he's
- 39:44Speaker 1: probably gonna take me back, and I'm cool with that.
- 39:47Speaker 2: He's gonna take you back. I'm playing that he takes
- 39:49Speaker 2: me back, because listen, I don't want to be only one.
- 39:51Speaker 4: On this right.
- 39:52Speaker 1: I would love to finish start it, and.
- 39:55Speaker 2: You will because I'm gonna push me like you push me. Oh,
- 39:58Speaker 2: you're gonna, says.
- 40:00Speaker 1: Absolutely, I'm going. I mean, I'm doing graduations and everything
- 40:05Speaker 1: because why not?
- 40:08Speaker 2: Why not you?
- 40:11Speaker 4: And I appreciate you, appreciate We.
- 40:16Speaker 1: Were about to take into an hour, so I'm about
- 40:18Speaker 1: to go on ahead and bid do because I know
- 40:26Speaker 1: you've got things to do.
- 40:27Speaker 2: And I just heard here.
- 40:31Speaker 1: I just heard my son's voice, so I need to, Yeah.
- 40:36Speaker 2: Go go take care of my nephew. Take care of
- 40:38Speaker 2: my nephew.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what he got his woman for. She take
- 40:42Speaker 1: care of him. I'm just going to stare at him for.
- 40:44Speaker 2: A little bit. You know, you want to take a
- 40:46Speaker 2: look at you too.
- 40:49Speaker 1: I don't know, we're gonna. We're gonna see well for me,
- 40:56Speaker 1: absolutely absolutely, And I want to thank everybody for he
- 41:00Speaker 1: loves you too. He does and he loves you too.
- 41:06Speaker 2: Oh yes, yes, ma'am, Ye're absolutely because she.
- 41:13Speaker 1: Lets you know. But I want to thank everybody for
- 41:17Speaker 1: tuning in to delay but not denied. I also want
- 41:21Speaker 1: to ask you to continue to keep us lifted in
- 41:27Speaker 1: prayer as a group of women coming together in media,
- 41:34Speaker 1: just trying to build and connect with one another and
- 41:38Speaker 1: grow and have something bigger than bigger than what we
- 41:44Speaker 1: can imagine, you know, just staying the course even when
- 41:49Speaker 1: it's times where like today, I said a million times
- 41:55Speaker 1: I'm about to call Angelou, I can't do it. I'm
- 41:59Speaker 1: I'm bent, not broken, bent, but feeling broken. But you know,
- 42:07Speaker 1: my bounce back was, it's gonna be okay.
- 42:11Speaker 2: I'm not gonna let you do that.
- 42:13Speaker 1: It gets greater later, So it's something that I stand on.
- 42:18Speaker 1: It does get greater later. But again, I'll be back
- 42:22Speaker 1: on the second Monday of June with another show, hopefully
- 42:30Speaker 1: more organized than this one. However, I did what God
- 42:36Speaker 1: told me to do as far as this one goes.
- 42:38Speaker 1: So as long as I'm being obedient and doing what
- 42:41Speaker 1: I'm told to do, then I feel all is will
- 42:45Speaker 1: in my world. But you know, I want to thank
- 42:48Speaker 1: you all for coming out and watching and participating, asking questions,
- 42:53Speaker 1: just speaking or whatever. Did he thank you for being
- 42:58Speaker 1: my co host on Fridays, Yes, ma'am, and I appreciate you.
- 43:03Speaker 2: I thank you for asking me appreciate it.
- 43:06Speaker 1: I'm trying to get you out of your shell because
- 43:11Speaker 1: you got a story just like everybody else and somebody. Yeah,
- 43:18Speaker 1: God ain't gonna continue to let you hide it for
- 43:20Speaker 1: too long, ma'am. So if hiding is what you like
- 43:23Speaker 1: to do, go ahead, by all means, have at it.
- 43:27Speaker 1: But when God brings the forefront, be ready, be battle ready, yes,
- 43:36Speaker 1: ma'am I will. All right, we out, good night, good
- 43:42Speaker 1: night everyone,
