Air Force plans to rehire after cutting below ‘established requirements’
The Air Force and Space Force are asking Congress for thousands of new civilian positions, acknowledging they cut too deep to meet mission requirements in critical areas. The proposed jobs cover everything from base support and nuclear forces to intelligence, communications and pilot training, at a time when tens of thousands of civilian employees have left the department. Federal News Network’s Rachel Cohen joins me to explain what’s behind the planned hiring.
