Fireworks for Veterans and Women in Recovery | Kansas City News
In Lee’s Summit, Sobbr Life is turning Fourth of July fireworks into lifelines for veterans and women recovering from addiction, raising over $25,000 since late June to fund housing, transportation, and job searches. Founded by Lyla Lane after losing her daughter to drunk driving, the nonprofit honors Skyelar’s love of the holiday while tackling a critical crisis. So far, they’ve helped 37 women — including one moving into her own apartment and another getting her first car — and are also supporting local Vietnam veterans.
