- 0:00Speaker 1: KBN.
- 0:00Speaker 2: Well, howdy ho, boys and girls. News Radio 570 WKBN
- 0:03Speaker 2: and Ron Verb. It's 306 here on a Monday afternoon.
- 0:07Speaker 2: It's 74 degrees. It's a lovely day out there, isn't it?
- 0:10Speaker 2: I think tomorrow's Election Day, isn't it? Isn't it May 5th?
- 0:13Speaker 2: Is that Election Day? Is that the official day we're
- 0:16Speaker 2: supposed to go out and vote in the primary? I
- 0:19Speaker 2: better be prepared. And here's the disappointing part. They say
- 0:25Speaker 2: you're going to get like a 25% turnout, which is
- 0:28Speaker 2: really pathetic. I mean, how long does it take to
- 0:33Speaker 2: go out and cast your ballots, let your voice be heard?
- 0:36Speaker 2: It doesn't take that much effort, but such a low
- 0:40Speaker 2: voter turnout, that's never a good thing. And then, of course,
- 0:46Speaker 2: you wait for the general and see what happens then. Anyway,
- 0:50Speaker 2: good afternoon.
- 0:50Speaker 3: 330-729-9977.
- 0:50Speaker 4: 330-729-9977.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Have we made a deal yet with Iran? I mean,
- 0:52Speaker 2: I keep hearing... Trump administration say Iran wants a deal.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Iran wants a deal. Well, have we made one yet?
- 1:06Speaker 2: Is gas still $ 5 a gallon? In my neck of
- 1:08Speaker 2: the woods, it is, boys and girls. Depends where you are.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Some people are calling me like bragging, hey, gas is
- 1:14Speaker 2: cheaper in PA than it is in Ohio. Why is that, incidentally?
- 1:17Speaker 2: Why is that? I don't understand that. Why is gas?
- 1:22Speaker 2: It doesn't make any sense to me. I'm confused. You're
- 1:25Speaker 2: on the air.
- 1:26Speaker 5: Ronald.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Ladies and gentlemen, it's Monday. It's Ted the Conservative. Hello, Theodore.
- 1:33Speaker 5: You know, I'm calling you in regards to Friday.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Friday, Friday, Friday, Friday.
- 1:39Speaker 5: Stupid comments from that woman.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Friday's like a blur, okay? Friday, stupid comments.
- 1:44Speaker 5: At first I blew them off because I laughed it
- 1:47Speaker 5: off and I thought, you know, never get in the
- 1:50Speaker 5: mud with a pig because you come out dirty, right?
- 1:52Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:52Speaker 5: I don't like to attack people. But I will call
- 1:55Speaker 5: a spade a spade, and I didn't think nothing of it.
- 1:57Speaker 5: I mean, stupid people say stupid things, right?
- 2:01Speaker 2: Yes.
- 2:01Speaker 5: I get some messages this morning that I forwarded to you.
- 2:06Speaker 5: This has been going on for weeks on social media,
- 2:08Speaker 5: the slander and the things that are being said about
- 2:11Speaker 5: me from her. And I thought to.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Myself, you know... Now, that's because you, Ted the Conservative,
- 2:19Speaker 2: the Ted the Conservative endorsement has gone to Christine Oliver for..
- 2:23Speaker 6: Right, right.
- 2:23Speaker 2: In a Republican primary.
- 2:26Speaker 5: First of all, she's got numerous Facebook accounts she hides behind,
- 2:29Speaker 5: and she blocks people that don't agree with her. And
- 2:32Speaker 5: then she talks about people. Well, it's going to stop today.
- 2:37Speaker 5: And it starts with you. I would think you're not
- 2:40Speaker 5: going to let her run her mouth again like she
- 2:41Speaker 5: did Friday. Because if she does, I'm going to come back.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Yes.
- 2:46Speaker 5: So she will be getting a visit on Meadowbrook Drive.
- 2:49Speaker 5: From the Pullum Police Department.
- 2:52Speaker 2: No, wait a minute. You can't. Don't put anybody's son down.
- 2:55Speaker 5: And if she's not home, they will deliver it to
- 2:58Speaker 5: her husband's.
- 2:58Speaker 7: Place of business.
- 3:00Speaker 2: All right. Well, don't put out personal information.
- 3:02Speaker 5: It's another thing to say things on radio. It's another
- 3:03Speaker 5: thing to go on social media and start talking shit.
- 3:06Speaker 2: All right. Now, just hang on. Don't use the S-word.
- 3:09Speaker 2: And don't use personal addresses and that kind of stuff. Okay?
- 3:13Speaker 7: Just..
- 3:13Speaker 5: Well, she's using personal names.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Yeah, but what happens on social media cannot happen here.
- 3:19Speaker 5: And if you allow it to continue, I'm going to
- 3:21Speaker 5: come back harder. That's all I can say. I won't
- 3:25Speaker 5: get in the mud with a pig because I'll come
- 3:27Speaker 5: out dirty, but I won't sit here. And the things
- 3:30Speaker 5: that were sent to me, some of them that I
- 3:31Speaker 5: shared with you, some that I didn't, it stops now.
- 3:34Speaker 5: If not, you know, we'll see where it goes. Because
- 3:38Speaker 5: I don't agree with someone, they attack you. That speaks
- 3:42Speaker 5: volumes to the type of person you're dealing with.
- 3:45Speaker 2: It's the United States of America. You have a right
- 3:47Speaker 2: to support whatever candidate you wish to support.
- 3:51Speaker 5: I get called a liar because I said that I
- 3:55Speaker 5: met Christine Oliver in Columbiana. I guess some people are
- 3:58Speaker 5: so dumb and stupid they don't realize that parts of
- 4:01Speaker 5: Columbiana are Mahoney County. Maybe they should leave Poland, Ohio
- 4:06Speaker 5: and drive around or go down to the Board of
- 4:08Speaker 5: Elections and look at a map. But, you know, having
- 4:13Speaker 5: fun playing games is one thing. You start blasting crap
- 4:17Speaker 5: on social media and doing the things that she's doing
- 4:20Speaker 5: and saying the things that she's saying, that changes the game.
- 4:25Speaker 5: That's my warning shot.
- 4:27Speaker 2: All right, so you're upset over being attacked on social media,
- 4:31Speaker 2: of which I have no control over, obviously.
- 4:34Speaker 7: Right, right, right.
- 4:35Speaker 2: I have no control.
- 4:36Speaker 5: I sent you some of it. I didn't send you
- 4:37Speaker 5: all of it. But the police got.
- 4:39Speaker 3: All of it.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Now, why are the police involved?
- 4:43Speaker 5: Well, because when you deal with crazy people, you deal
- 4:46Speaker 5: with them head on. And if you don't stop them,
- 4:50Speaker 5: things continue to escalate. And, you know, I think she's crazy.
- 4:53Speaker 5: I think she's unstable, to be honest with you.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Yeah, but I mean, it's... If you're going to go
- 4:57Speaker 3: so far as to talk.
- 4:58Speaker 5: About people on social media, then you've got to do
- 5:01Speaker 5: what you have to do to protect yourself, right?
- 5:04Speaker 2: What would you do? Well, let me put it this way.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Who has been called an idiot more than I?
- 5:11Speaker 5: Well, beyond that.
- 5:14Speaker 8: Who is it?
- 5:15Speaker 2: A liar. I'm not going to sit around and be
- 5:18Speaker 2: called a liar. Here's the advice I would give you
- 5:21Speaker 2: and to anybody. Here's what I've discovered over the years. Uh,
- 5:27Speaker 2: everybody's entitled to their own opinion. And a lot of
- 5:29Speaker 2: people say nasty things. See, I give my thoughts and
- 5:33Speaker 2: my opinions publicly. All right. So, so just, I, I
- 5:37Speaker 2: speak publicly. I don't speak behind people's. Right. Okay. Right. See,
- 5:43Speaker 2: I don't, I don't really, I speak publicly. I don't
- 5:46Speaker 2: speak behind people's backs.
- 5:47Speaker 5: I don't have Facebook pages and fake names.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Right. And the, Do you want to know me?
- 5:52Speaker 5: Here I am.
- 5:52Speaker 2: I'm not a big fan of what they call these
- 5:55Speaker 2: keyboard warriors.
- 5:57Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:57Speaker 7: And keyboard warrior.
- 5:58Speaker 2: But outside of that, how do I say this outside
- 6:01Speaker 2: of that? I really, I really don't care what, what,
- 6:07Speaker 2: what people post or what people say. It, it, it
- 6:11Speaker 2: doesn't bother me most of the time. Frankly, I don't
- 6:13Speaker 2: see it. I don't read it because who knows it's,
- 6:18Speaker 2: A lot of people think they know more than they
- 6:20Speaker 2: do know. And it's something that you have to wrestle with.
- 6:25Speaker 2: A lot of people think that they have a deeper
- 6:27Speaker 2: understanding of things than they actually do. And so the
- 6:32Speaker 2: advice I'm giving to you is don't take it personal.
- 6:38Speaker 2: I gave it to Ron, but she did. Well, no,
- 6:41Speaker 2: if somebody... If somebody's getting under your skin, you shouldn't
- 6:45Speaker 2: let somebody get under your skin, and you shouldn't take
- 6:47Speaker 2: it so personally.
- 6:48Speaker 5: There's a line, and when you cross that line, the
- 6:51Speaker 5: gloves come off.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Well, what's the line?
- 6:54Speaker 5: Talking shit on social media.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Well, don't say the S word. You keep saying that.
- 6:58Speaker 9: Okay.
- 6:58Speaker 5: Talking crap. Talking about people you don't know. Calling people liars.
- 7:04Speaker 5: You know, different things.
- 7:05Speaker 10: Slander.
- 7:06Speaker 5: Slander. Plain and simple.
- 7:08Speaker 10: Slander.
- 7:08Speaker 5: When you cross the line, when you start slandering. Well, it's...
- 7:11Speaker 5: And when you start... talking about people on social media
- 7:14Speaker 5: and grown adults. This is stuff our kids did in
- 7:18Speaker 5: middle school, you know, and here's a woman, crazy woman
- 7:22Speaker 5: talking about people on social media, hiding behind fake accounts,
- 7:25Speaker 5: saying the vile things that she said last week on
- 7:28Speaker 5: your program. You know, does she think that's funny and cute?
- 7:31Speaker 5: Never once have I attacked her, but you know, she,
- 7:34Speaker 5: she crossed the line. So let this be a warning
- 7:36Speaker 5: to keep my name out of her mouth and off
- 7:38Speaker 5: the program and off the Facebook. And other than that,
- 7:42Speaker 5: If you're voting tomorrow, there's only one candidate, Ron. Who
- 7:45Speaker 5: is it? Who am I supporting?
- 7:49Speaker 2: You are, Ted, the conservative is supporting Christine Oliver.
- 7:54Speaker 5: Christine Oliver. She knows the issues, unlike some who got
- 7:58Speaker 5: in the race and then had to call Ron Verb
- 8:00Speaker 5: to learn what the issues are. She, you know, she doesn't,
- 8:03Speaker 5: she supports reducing the taxes. for our senior citizens, unlike Sheppas,
- 8:09Speaker 5: which makes no sense to how Rich voted for Sheppas,
- 8:12Speaker 5: because I always thought Rich was an anti-tax guy. I
- 8:16Speaker 5: thought he wanted those reductions put in place. Who was
- 8:18Speaker 5: that state lawmaker?
- 8:21Speaker 2: Dave Thomas.
- 8:23Speaker 5: Dave Thomas. Dave Thomas. I thought he was a big
- 8:25Speaker 5: fan of Dave Thomas. Dave Thomas has endorsed Christine Oliver.
- 8:29Speaker 5: Rich votes for the guy that wants to raise his taxes,
- 8:32Speaker 5: which made no sense to me. And I was surprised
- 8:34Speaker 5: at some of the slanderous things he said, too, but
- 8:36Speaker 5: that's here regardless. Hey, I'm with Christine Oliver. She's dedicated
- 8:40Speaker 5: her life to public service, from serving in the Navy,
- 8:42Speaker 5: her time on city council. You know what she's done
- 8:45Speaker 5: with her nonprofit, Back to Blue, to support law enforcement
- 8:49Speaker 5: officers across the state and raise money for the children
- 8:51Speaker 5: of her fallen officers. Those are the people you want
- 8:54Speaker 5: representing you in government, not people who are empty seats.
- 8:58Speaker 5: looking for a paycheck, looking for the next job, trying
- 9:01Speaker 5: to climb that political ladder just for self-gratification, I guess.
- 9:08Speaker 5: So if you don't like my opinion, disagree with me.
- 9:10Speaker 5: But when you start the personal attacks on social media
- 9:15Speaker 5: and the things you say, the vile things you say
- 9:17Speaker 5: on radio, then that crosses the line. If you don't
- 9:20Speaker 5: like my opinion, you're glad to disagree with me. Draw
- 9:24Speaker 5: the line there.
- 9:26Speaker 2: There he is, on fire.
- 9:28Speaker 5: Here I am. All right, buddy. I hope I don't
- 9:31Speaker 5: have to call back.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Thank you. It's Ted the Conservative. He's upset with some
- 9:37Speaker 2: of the scoundrels on social media. News Radio 570, the
- 9:41Speaker 2: keyboard warriors, all the tough people on social media and
- 9:46Speaker 2: Facebook and all that kind of stuff, which is really
- 9:49Speaker 2: a giant waste of time. I am shocked at how
- 9:52Speaker 2: some people just It's amazing. when I share every personal
- 9:57Speaker 2: thing on Facebook. You're on the air.
- 9:59Speaker 11: Hope you had a good weekend, because I'm here to
- 10:02Speaker 11: deliver the bad news.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Okay.
- 10:05Speaker 11: Way down S & P, down NASDAQ, down volatility high.
- 10:11Speaker 11: West Texas Intermediate was up over 4% most of the day.
- 10:18Speaker 11: And global oil prices... $ 14 a barrel, that doesn't say,
- 10:24Speaker 11: but that's Brent crude. That's the global index. And headline news,
- 10:29Speaker 11: stocks remain lower as Trump sends new warning to Iran
- 10:34Speaker 11: against attacks on U.S.
- 10:36Speaker 5: Vessels.
- 10:38Speaker 11: And, Ron, I spent the weekend analyzing all 220 software stocks.
- 10:46Speaker 11: And to save time, I checked with other software analysts.
- 10:51Speaker 11: And I've never seen anything like it in my life.
- 10:54Speaker 11: Almost every recommendation was a sell recommendation. And Warren Buffett
- 11:00Speaker 11: has sold another $ 50 billion worth of stock and is
- 11:06Speaker 11: now sitting on almost $ 400 billion in cash. And that's
- 11:11Speaker 11: a couple billion more than I even have in my
- 11:13Speaker 11: bank account.
- 11:14Speaker 2: There you go. Well, that's because those young girlfriends of
- 11:18Speaker 2: yours keep burning through the cash. So let me see
- 11:22Speaker 2: on my ticker here, on my CNBC ticker, the Dow's
- 11:25Speaker 2: down 512 points. Ouch, you're 401k today. or your IRA
- 11:33Speaker 2: is bleeding. 512 is the Dow is down. S &
- 11:36Speaker 2: P is down 25. NASDAQ's down 39. The Russell's down 16.
- 11:41Speaker 2: The VIX is up one. So needless to say, it
- 11:44Speaker 2: is a bad day for your 401k and your IRA.
- 11:49Speaker 2: And it says Dow falls 500 points as oil jumps
- 11:52Speaker 2: on fears Iran conflict set to flare up again. And
- 11:57Speaker 2: wait a second, Dow falls 500 points as oil jumps.
- 12:00Speaker 2: So if oil jumps, and I'm paying $ 5 here in
- 12:04Speaker 2: the Buckeye States, here where I live in my neck
- 12:06Speaker 2: of the woods, my wallet's in great pain today, Frank.
- 12:10Speaker 2: My wallet's in pain. My wallet's suffering. And if the
- 12:15Speaker 2: price of a barrel of oil– by the way, incidentally,
- 12:17Speaker 2: when I'm talking oil, Frank, I'm not Ron Verb, I'm T.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Boone Verb, okay? That's my– T.
- 12:22Speaker 11: Boone Pickens.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Yeah, no, T. Boone Verb. That's my oil name. But
- 12:27Speaker 2: when I'm talking oil, if the– Oh, by the.
- 12:30Speaker 11: Way, let me interrupt. Wasn't T. Boone the pioneer of
- 12:36Speaker 11: public equity business model?
- 12:39Speaker 7: No.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Well, this is just oil discussion because I need a
- 12:43Speaker 2: hip oil name when I'm talking oil. It sounds cool,
- 12:46Speaker 2: T-Bone Verb. But not T-Bone Verb, T-Bone. But needless to say,
- 12:52Speaker 2: is it possible, Frank, that gas could go up more
- 12:55Speaker 2: than $ 5 a gallon in my neck of the woods?
- 12:58Speaker 11: Well, let me put it this way. Rich, the pharmacist,
- 13:02Speaker 11: repeated it again. that he wants to make exporting oil illegal?
- 13:07Speaker 5: Yes.
- 13:08Speaker 11: Because he thinks the price of gas would crash. Now,
- 13:12Speaker 11: Rich doesn't understand that only 6% of our oil flows
- 13:16Speaker 11: through the Straits of Hormuz. The reason the gas price
- 13:20Speaker 11: is soaring is because the Fed is inflating rapidly.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Let me interject one minute. I was actually listening to
- 13:28Speaker 2: a guy, and I'm going to lay this on you, Frank.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Are you sitting down?
- 13:32Speaker 5: Yes, sir.
- 13:34Speaker 2: He said the reason why oil prices are soaring is
- 13:40Speaker 2: there's an oil shortage. With all this mess going on,
- 13:44Speaker 2: he said there is now an oil shortage because you
- 13:48Speaker 2: can see that you don't have these areas where oil
- 13:51Speaker 2: isn't flowing out of Iran. This guy claims there's an
- 13:56Speaker 2: oil shortage. That's why oil prices are going up because
- 13:59Speaker 2: of this mess. And he also said that he thought
- 14:01Speaker 2: they could go up beyond $ 5 a gallon. What do
- 14:07Speaker 2: you say? Hello? What happened to Frank? I think I
- 14:15Speaker 2: stunned Frank with my wisdom. He fainted. All right, Frank,
- 14:20Speaker 2: call me back. I lost your connection. I don't know
- 14:22Speaker 2: what happened to him. You're on the air.
- 14:26Speaker 5: Yes.
- 14:26Speaker 9: How old is Ted? You know, I thought by our
- 14:33Speaker 9: ages now we would know. That you don't go and..
- 14:36Speaker 2: Oh, sticks and stones may break... Right.
- 14:40Speaker 9: I mean, you don't know better enough that you've seen
- 14:42Speaker 9: it before, you've experienced it before, that people are going
- 14:45Speaker 9: to say things that you... Especially if you're passionate about it.
- 14:49Speaker 9: And then now he's... And he was bad-mouthing her on
- 14:52Speaker 9: the back end.
- 14:53Speaker 3: I mean, you know, again, guys, I don't understand.
- 14:57Speaker 12: Maybe it's me.
- 14:58Speaker 2: And really, who's been more picked on on this program
- 15:02Speaker 2: than J.J. the liberal? Seriously.
- 15:04Speaker 5: No, I haven't.
- 15:05Speaker 9: No, I haven't.
- 15:07Speaker 3: Which is Frank.
- 15:07Speaker 9: Frank and those other guys have gotten, Emmanuel has gotten
- 15:11Speaker 9: ten times worse because he's a.
- 15:12Speaker 3: Man of color.
- 15:15Speaker 2: I don't think Emmanuel's gotten it ten times worse. I
- 15:18Speaker 2: don't even think Frank's gotten it worse. I would say
- 15:21Speaker 2: the guy that's gotten it the hardest has always been J.J.
- 15:25Speaker 2: the liberal. And sometimes, now stand by, J.J., I'm going
- 15:30Speaker 2: to do some analysis. All right, hang on.
- 15:32Speaker 5: J.J.
- 15:32Speaker 2: The liberal coming up. Do some analysis there. And more
- 15:35Speaker 2: of your calls straight ahead.
- 15:37Speaker 8: News Radio 570 WKVN.
- 15:41Speaker 2: I've had plenty of time to contemplate during that last
- 15:43Speaker 2: commercial break. I don't think anybody's taken more criticism than J.J.
- 15:46Speaker 2: the Liberal. Now, I've reviewed this. What's your advice to
- 15:52Speaker 2: Ted the Conservative? Stand tall.
- 15:57Speaker 3: I'm not going to give him any advice. He should
- 15:59Speaker 3: know better.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Know better what?
- 16:00Speaker 3: He should just know better.
- 16:02Speaker 9: If I was doing that, He would come on here
- 16:05Speaker 9: and go, see, JJ's acting like a child going on
- 16:07Speaker 9: there and talking to people, and he knows that they're
- 16:10Speaker 9: going to say this. Come on, man. I don't get
- 16:13Speaker 9: along with him, but I respect him.
- 16:15Speaker 3: I lost respect from a long time ago when.
- 16:17Speaker 9: He battled G2, and he was right. And then the
- 16:20Speaker 9: next following day, he was the first one to call in,
- 16:22Speaker 9: and he apologized, and he had no reason to apologize.
- 16:25Speaker 9: I lost it for him. I was like, man, dude,
- 16:27Speaker 9: you were right. I'm walking around the garage, I'm going,
- 16:30Speaker 9: you were right, Ted. But you buckled and you wouldn't,
- 16:34Speaker 9: because what reason? There was no reason to challenge you.
- 16:37Speaker 9: I'm not trying to challenge you. He's an intelligent individual,
- 16:40Speaker 9: and that's the reason why I'm disappointed.
- 16:41Speaker 13: Okay.
- 16:42Speaker 9: Anyway, but today, you know, again, we got some bombings. And,
- 16:47Speaker 9: you know, I was thinking, I was over the weekend,
- 16:50Speaker 9: last time I talked to you.
- 16:51Speaker 3: I said, who's benefiting from this? So, you know, I mean,
- 16:54Speaker 3: Frank will probably know the answer to this, and many
- 16:55Speaker 3: other people do.
- 16:56Speaker 9: But I'm thinking, who.
- 16:57Speaker 3: Benefits from it?
- 16:58Speaker 9: Contractors?
- 17:00Speaker 5: Russia?
- 17:00Speaker 3: China?
- 17:02Speaker 12: There are certain..
- 17:02Speaker 9: 20% is owned by the oil that comes out of..
- 17:07Speaker 2: Well, I don't think China's benefiting from it because China's
- 17:09Speaker 2: got a big oil problem. India's not benefiting from it.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Africa's not benefiting from it.
- 17:14Speaker 9: A lot of those guys have connections. Remember, we don't
- 17:16Speaker 9: know everything. I'm using that kind of..
- 17:18Speaker 2: Well, that's true.
- 17:20Speaker 3: We don't know what everybody knows, but the problem is that..
- 17:23Speaker 9: I've got to quit saying that, too.
- 17:25Speaker 10: My brother called me.
- 17:26Speaker 9: I always say the problem is I.
- 17:28Speaker 3: Don't understand why... that we're still there. I mean, it's this..
- 17:34Speaker 2: Well, I can answer that question. I can actually... Wait
- 17:37Speaker 2: a second, JJ. I can give you, I think, an
- 17:39Speaker 2: intelligent answer to that. Stand by. Let me do my headlines.
- 17:42Speaker 2: And then I come back and take more of your
- 17:43Speaker 2: calls in a minute.
- 17:45Speaker 8: News Radio 570 WKVN.
- 17:47Speaker 2: All right. Now, let me go back to JJ. Now, JJ,
- 17:52Speaker 2: when you're asking about this situation in Iran, here's the deal.
- 17:57Speaker 2: We can debate all we want on whether or not
- 17:59Speaker 2: we should be there in the first place if this
- 18:02Speaker 2: was a good idea from the beginning. But that's wasting
- 18:05Speaker 2: time because we're there, right? I mean, the reality is
- 18:09Speaker 2: that that ship has sailed. So you can argue a point.
- 18:14Speaker 2: They can argue, well, take a look at the bombing
- 18:17Speaker 2: and take a look at the campaign, the blockade. It
- 18:20Speaker 2: seems like, militarily speaking, everything seems to be going very
- 18:24Speaker 2: well there. for the United States and the people that
- 18:28Speaker 2: claim to be in a no seem to think if
- 18:29Speaker 2: we wait them out that they're hurting more than we're
- 18:33Speaker 2: hurting and we'll be victorious if we wait them out,
- 18:36Speaker 2: if we don't pull the pin too soon. That's one
- 18:38Speaker 2: of the arguments for stay in the course, if you will,
- 18:41Speaker 2: and not bailing out too early. And so... We shall see. Now,
- 18:48Speaker 2: on the other hand..
- 18:49Speaker 14: I get that point.
- 18:50Speaker 9: But we're going over there. They don't have to leave
- 18:54Speaker 9: to defend their property. Their war is not costing them
- 18:56Speaker 9: as far as them having to travel. That costs us money.
- 19:00Speaker 9: That's other contingencies that we have to deal with. But again,
- 19:05Speaker 9: we have a lot more money. So I understand your
- 19:07Speaker 9: point there. But it is... I'm just believing that... When
- 19:12Speaker 9: we first went into Venezuela, again, he said, who's in charge?
- 19:15Speaker 9: And he finally said the oil companies. And they're one
- 19:18Speaker 9: of the benefits from Grumman and many of those other
- 19:23Speaker 9: contractors are making money hand over.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Fist right now.
- 19:26Speaker 2: And the oil companies are going to make a fortune, too.
- 19:28Speaker 2: The oil companies will be making a fortune.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Grumman made, just since the beginning of the war, they've
- 19:33Speaker 3: made their stock and everything, they've.
- 19:37Speaker 10: Gained $ 15.
- 19:38Speaker 9: Billion since this has started. And that's mind-boggling. I mean,
- 19:44Speaker 9: that would motivate.
- 19:45Speaker 3: A lot of people to continue.
- 19:50Speaker 9: A conflict that really is not necessary. And in my views,
- 19:55Speaker 9: if you, everybody wants to talk about, if you look
- 19:57Speaker 9: through history and blah, blah, blah, it's usually over religion.
- 20:01Speaker 9: It's over wars where you're the religion property where you're
- 20:03Speaker 9: coming and trying to take my land or freedom. Those
- 20:06Speaker 9: are the three things right there that really motivate another
- 20:11Speaker 9: person to engage in warfare. And usually those things right
- 20:15Speaker 9: there and right.
- 20:15Speaker 5: Now, it's money.
- 20:16Speaker 9: And it's a profitable business. That's what's happening, really, Aron.
- 20:21Speaker 9: There's no freedom for people. The people over there have lost.
- 20:25Speaker 9: So much of it, they're all in poverty now. There's
- 20:27Speaker 9: like 10 million people that are in poverty now ever
- 20:29Speaker 9: since the war started over in Iran. And we're not
- 20:32Speaker 9: benefiting from it either. The people over here, we're going
- 20:35Speaker 9: to be paying for more more weapons. We're going to
- 20:38Speaker 9: be paying for everything. And nobody cares. And quite frankly,
- 20:44Speaker 9: as I said, I live by very simple means in
- 20:46Speaker 9: the first place. Other than I got my grocery stuff
- 20:50Speaker 9: in the backyard growing and stuff, I can deal with it.
- 20:53Speaker 9: But there's a lot of people that are not in
- 20:55Speaker 9: very good shape. A lot of people are in fear.
- 20:57Speaker 9: And as I said, it's We've got to make some
- 21:01Speaker 9: changes here, and it's not going to go anywhere. And,
- 21:04Speaker 9: you know, like you said, I'm proud of you about
- 21:06Speaker 9: him going after Comey. Come on, man, that's ridiculous.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Let me put it this way, just to be clear.
- 21:12Speaker 2: I don't think I voted for Trump. I'd vote for
- 21:15Speaker 2: Trump again. I don't think we'd be better off if
- 21:17Speaker 2: Kamala Harris was president. I don't think we'd be better
- 21:20Speaker 2: off if we vote for Sherrod Brown as senator. I
- 21:23Speaker 2: don't think the Democrats— I don't want to go back to
- 21:25Speaker 2: the Democrats' wacky agenda— Even if even as critical as
- 21:29Speaker 2: I can be of Trump, I still got to look
- 21:31Speaker 2: at the borders closed. I got to look at all
- 21:33Speaker 2: the good stuff that has happened. I always acknowledge these
- 21:36Speaker 2: guys know more than any of us know about this,
- 21:39Speaker 2: their information. OK, so.
- 21:42Speaker 5: Right.
- 21:43Speaker 2: So with that being said, but I also know this.
- 21:46Speaker 2: I also know you cannot continue with five dollar a
- 21:49Speaker 2: gallon gasoline or potentially higher. Because it is putting a
- 21:54Speaker 2: big hurt on everything and everybody. Remember what happened.
- 21:59Speaker 9: To Marie Antoinette when she said, let them eat cake.
- 22:02Speaker 3: That's exactly what's going on now. And it wasn't good.
- 22:04Speaker 9: For her or King Louis. I'm not implying anything.
- 22:08Speaker 13: I just made a joke there.
- 22:10Speaker 9: A bad joke.
- 22:10Speaker 10: But it's still right now.
- 22:12Speaker 9: People aren't going to take it for much longer. And
- 22:14Speaker 9: they're going to say, even the people that are very
- 22:16Speaker 9: passionate about him, they're going to start to say, listen,
- 22:19Speaker 9: I'm for you and I'm going to back you up here,
- 22:21Speaker 9: but you better do something. Or this voting or lack
- 22:25Speaker 9: thereof could be a very.
- 22:26Speaker 5: Difficult thing in November.
- 22:28Speaker 3: So, you know, again, it's all hands on deck right now.
- 22:31Speaker 9: We've got to come together somehow, and I know that
- 22:34Speaker 9: ain't going to happen. So I'm just going to try
- 22:35Speaker 9: to be one.
- 22:36Speaker 3: Of the people that can keep the boat from flipping.
- 22:38Speaker 2: There you go, J.J. the liberal. Thank you. I mean,
- 22:42Speaker 2: it is a tough situation that this country is in
- 22:45Speaker 2: right now. And as I say, you can go back
- 22:49Speaker 2: and we can debate all we want as to whether
- 22:51Speaker 2: or not we should have got into this from the
- 22:53Speaker 2: first place. I mean, it really doesn't matter. I mean,
- 22:56Speaker 2: people would say that we got in this because of
- 22:58Speaker 2: the power of Israel getting us involved in this and
- 23:02Speaker 2: we shouldn't have got involved in this from the very beginning.
- 23:06Speaker 2: And that doesn't matter. I mean, I guess in retrospect,
- 23:10Speaker 2: you can debate that as whether or not it was
- 23:13Speaker 2: a good idea or bad idea, whether or not we
- 23:15Speaker 2: should have got involved in this in the very beginning.
- 23:17Speaker 2: But let's deal with reality. We are involved in it.
- 23:22Speaker 2: And do I have concerns? Yes, I do. I mean,
- 23:29Speaker 2: I keep hearing the administration keep saying Iran wants to
- 23:32Speaker 2: make a deal. Iran wants to make a deal. Iran
- 23:33Speaker 2: wants to make a deal. And I keep saying, well,
- 23:36Speaker 2: where's the deal? You keep telling me you got him
- 23:40Speaker 2: right where you want him. Iran wants to make a deal,
- 23:43Speaker 2: but I don't see any deal.
- 23:47Speaker 1: So..
- 23:50Speaker 2: Does Iran want to make a deal? There's no question
- 23:53Speaker 2: in my mind Iran is suffering. Economically and in so
- 24:00Speaker 2: many ways. I mean, as far as financially, they are suffering.
- 24:06Speaker 11: But..
- 24:12Speaker 2: Are they willing to ride it out? I don't know
- 24:15Speaker 2: the answer to that. I don't know. I mean, I
- 24:20Speaker 2: do remember early on when Iran said, hey, listen, you
- 24:24Speaker 2: want to destroy us and our economy? We'll destroy you
- 24:28Speaker 2: and your economy. Implying that oil prices will go up
- 24:37Speaker 2: and we're an oil-based economy and it can have a
- 24:40Speaker 2: big effect on So I don't know. It's a whole
- 24:47Speaker 2: different culture. It is a whole different culture. And I
- 24:52Speaker 2: don't know what they're thinking over there because I'm not
- 24:54Speaker 2: familiar with that culture. I'm not there. I don't understand it.
- 25:02Speaker 2: It's a whole different mentality. It's a whole different culture.
- 25:04Speaker 2: It's a whole different lifestyle. So I don't know what
- 25:09Speaker 2: they're thinking. You know, I can sit here and say
- 25:15Speaker 2: to you, I wish we would reach some type of
- 25:17Speaker 2: deal here so that we can move on from this.
- 25:24Speaker 2: But if I speculate, I don't think this thing is
- 25:26Speaker 2: going as well as they thought it would go. This
- 25:29Speaker 2: is all my pure speculation. I honestly believe they thought
- 25:33Speaker 2: that this would be over much sooner than it's dragged
- 25:36Speaker 2: on to at this point in time. I think that
- 25:40Speaker 2: they were under the impression that we could bomb the
- 25:42Speaker 2: living hell out of them and bring them to their
- 25:44Speaker 2: knees and that this would be over relatively quickly. And
- 25:51Speaker 2: that was certainly the impression that was given early on.
- 25:55Speaker 2: And I don't sense that that's happening right now. As
- 26:00Speaker 2: of May 4th. That was the impression given early. But
- 26:08Speaker 2: now it's May 4th. And as I say, I just
- 26:12Speaker 2: hear this all the time. Iran wants to make a deal.
- 26:15Speaker 2: And I've heard this for weeks. Well, where's the deal?
- 26:23Speaker 2: So I talk as cheap deeds are precious until I
- 26:26Speaker 2: see the deal. I want to see what happens. What
- 26:31Speaker 2: takes place there. So we shall see.
- 26:34Speaker 1: And..
- 26:39Speaker 2: Is Iran willing to just wait this out? Are they
- 26:42Speaker 2: willing to say, I don't know what their resolve is.
- 26:46Speaker 2: Are they willing to say, who are you to tell
- 26:47Speaker 2: us whether or not as a country we can have
- 26:49Speaker 2: a nuclear weapon? Who are you to dictate this to us?
- 26:52Speaker 2: I mean, are they willing to wait it out thinking, okay,
- 26:56Speaker 2: we can wait it out and your economy is going
- 26:58Speaker 2: to get destroyed too. And China is going to be without,
- 27:04Speaker 2: run out of oil. India is going to run out
- 27:06Speaker 2: of oil. Africa's going to have starvation because of the
- 27:09Speaker 2: lack of fertilizer. There's a lot of dominoes that could
- 27:12Speaker 2: fall that can really piss a lot of countries off
- 27:16Speaker 2: when you don't have oil and energy, whether that's India
- 27:21Speaker 2: or China or food when it comes to Africa and
- 27:30Speaker 2: fertilizer and famine. So there's some long-term ramifications to all
- 27:38Speaker 2: of this. I don't have all the answers for you.
- 27:42Speaker 2: I don't know. Were these guys able to foresee all
- 27:45Speaker 2: of this? Hard to say. I mean, I can't sit
- 27:53Speaker 2: here and it's hard to say. Obviously, they know more
- 27:57Speaker 2: than any of you listening. They know more and have
- 28:02Speaker 2: more insider information than any of us listening with the
- 28:05Speaker 2: decisions that they've made. But we are where we are.
- 28:12Speaker 2: I mean, all I can tell you is based on that,
- 28:17Speaker 2: it seems like militarily everything's gone really well. Now, I
- 28:23Speaker 2: realize there are critics that said, well, I thought when
- 28:25Speaker 2: we dropped the bunker buster, that was the end of it.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Now they're saying, well, that wasn't the end of it.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Now we're dropping all these bombs, and when's the end
- 28:36Speaker 2: of it now? I understand the critics. I understand, and
- 28:45Speaker 2: there's nothing wrong with people being critical of it, because
- 28:48Speaker 2: that's open discussion in America. And some people, you have some, McGregor, General...
- 28:59Speaker 2: McGregor is very critical of this situation and what's happening. Well,
- 29:05Speaker 2: he certainly is a lot better informed than the rest
- 29:07Speaker 2: of us with this criticism. But if Iran wants to
- 29:16Speaker 2: make a deal, all I say is, where's the deal?
- 29:19Speaker 2: How much longer is this going to take? Another month,
- 29:21Speaker 2: two months, three months, six months? Because I keep hearing
- 29:28Speaker 2: when I watch it, we got them right where we
- 29:30Speaker 2: want them. And maybe we do. Maybe it's just a
- 29:33Speaker 2: matter of days or weeks. but are the American people
- 29:40Speaker 2: willing to pay $ 5 a gallon or $ 5. 50 or $ 6
- 29:43Speaker 2: a gallon who knows where it could go I don't
- 29:50Speaker 2: think so I genuinely don't think so and Politically speaking,
- 30:01Speaker 2: it always is the economy, stupid. There's not a lot
- 30:05Speaker 2: of support for this military action. If you take a look,
- 30:10Speaker 2: there's not a lot of public support for it. And
- 30:15Speaker 2: that can be devastating for the midterms as far as
- 30:18Speaker 2: the Republicans are concerned. Then for the next two years,
- 30:24Speaker 2: you've derailed everything. like the American first agenda and everything
- 30:34Speaker 2: would be on hold for two years and it'd just
- 30:36Speaker 2: be the usual devastation that comes from it. So we
- 30:43Speaker 2: shall see. I wish I could give you a better,
- 30:45Speaker 2: I don't think anyone can really give you a good
- 30:50Speaker 2: assessment of it. I'm against the Democrats that seem to
- 30:58Speaker 2: knock the country. I mean, I do agree with some
- 31:02Speaker 2: people that say the Democrats hate Trump more than they
- 31:05Speaker 2: love their country, and I think that statement is true.
- 31:09Speaker 2: I think as an American, you've got to say what
- 31:10Speaker 2: the military has accomplished has been phenomenal. And the blockade
- 31:20Speaker 2: seems to be very effective. So any of the Democrats
- 31:26Speaker 2: who want to imply that Iran is winning, I don't
- 31:29Speaker 2: think that that's the case at all. I think the
- 31:31Speaker 2: United States is the upper hand at this point in time.
- 31:36Speaker 2: But are they willing to lose and wait it out?
- 31:39Speaker 2: And we shall see. Because I don't understand their culture.
- 31:49Speaker 2: But I do understand this culture. And I can tell you,
- 31:53Speaker 2: $ 5 gasoline is devastating to the economy and household budgets.
- 32:00Speaker 2: And it will lead to inflation. Not just $ 5 gasoline,
- 32:02Speaker 2: but diesel fuel at $ 6 a gallon. And I don't
- 32:08Speaker 2: think that there's much support for that to continue. And
- 32:18Speaker 2: we shall see. Comments? You're on the air. Hello. I
- 32:25Speaker 2: thought you were there. Maybe I went the wrong line.
- 32:27Speaker 2: You're on the air.
- 32:31Speaker 12: So are you supposed to look at the stock market
- 32:33Speaker 12: every day and check everything on the numbers?
- 32:37Speaker 2: Yeah, you do look at the stock market every day
- 32:39Speaker 2: because it is important. Why does it matter? You know,
- 32:43Speaker 2: I do a financial show, so Rockport should be on
- 32:45Speaker 2: tonight at 6 o'clock.
- 32:46Speaker 5: Why?
- 32:46Speaker 2: Because the reality is there's plenty of people retired that
- 32:50Speaker 2: are involved in it with their retirements. There's plenty of
- 32:53Speaker 2: people close to retirement. and plenty of people that are
- 32:56Speaker 2: in 401ks and whatever. And when you take a look
- 32:58Speaker 2: at huge losses like that, it is devastating, and it
- 33:01Speaker 2: psychologically affects half the population, just as a $ 5 gas
- 33:06Speaker 2: price out there affects all the population.
- 33:09Speaker 12: How many record highs have we had since the war started?
- 33:13Speaker 2: Yeah, but it doesn't matter because they're yesterday's news because
- 33:17Speaker 2: they're right back down.
- 33:19Speaker 5: Yeah, so..
- 33:24Speaker 2: I'll tell you the next high. The next high will
- 33:27Speaker 2: be if there's the thought of a deal being made. Now,
- 33:31Speaker 2: why does that happen? Call back, Jake. Sometimes my system
- 33:35Speaker 2: fails me, folks. Sometimes I'm telling you our phone system
- 33:38Speaker 2: just screws up. I don't understand it, but it does.
- 33:42Speaker 2: So if you lost your connection, you just have to
- 33:44Speaker 2: call back. Let me just check a few things. Okay.
- 33:48Speaker 2: And hopefully you'll get through.
- 33:49Speaker 1: 330-729-9977.
- 33:52Speaker 2: They're making some major changes as far as some of
- 33:55Speaker 2: our infrastructure. Let me put it that way. 330-729-9977. 330-729-9977. Jake,
- 34:05Speaker 2: and the rest of you that got disconnected, you'll have
- 34:08Speaker 2: to call back, and we'll try to get you on here.
- 34:10Speaker 2: As we proceed on, on NewsRadio 570, we'll be here
- 34:13Speaker 2: tonight until 6. Taking your calls, then, the Rockport Wealth
- 34:16Speaker 2: Truth in Investing program tonight, 6 to 7. On NewsRadio 570,
- 34:21Speaker 2: Dodie Caryon, Ron Verb from the Kingdom of Mahoning, and
- 34:23Speaker 2: I'm coming back. And more.
- 34:25Speaker 8: Lock in your cabin now at TopShelfCountryCruise.com.
- 34:29Speaker 2: 570 WKBN. And Ron Verb, call us on line standby.
- 34:32Speaker 2: We'll do our headlines, and then we'll come back with
- 34:34Speaker 2: a long segment on NewsRadio 570, Dodie Caryon. I want
- 34:37Speaker 2: to invite you, if you're in the market for a car, truck, SUV,
- 34:40Speaker 2: whether new or used, to visit our friends down at
- 34:42Speaker 2: Stadium GM in the heart of Salem. And I say
- 34:45Speaker 2: that as a customer because everything General Motors makes is
- 34:48Speaker 2: under one roof, Cadillac, Buick. GMC Chevrolet. It's where we
- 34:53Speaker 2: bought our cars in 2017 where my wife just purchased
- 34:56Speaker 2: a Chevy Equinox at Stadium GM. Locally owned and operated.
- 35:01Speaker 2: That's part of some big conglomerate. No, it's locally owned
- 35:04Speaker 2: and operated. Mike Kudak runs a great operation. No one
- 35:07Speaker 2: treats you better from the service departments to the sales
- 35:10Speaker 2: departments to the selection. Stadium GM in the heart of Salem.
- 35:17Speaker 4: From ABC News. I'm Mike Tobusky. President Trump says the
- 35:22Speaker 4: ceasefire with Iran is still in effect after significant attacks
- 35:26Speaker 4: from Iran were reported by the United Arab Emirates today.
- 35:29Speaker 4: ABC News Chief Washington Correspondent Jonathan Karl.
- 35:32Speaker 15: I actually just got off the phone with him. I
- 35:34Speaker 15: was calling about the attacks on the UAE and asking
- 35:40Speaker 15: if this was a mean, is the ceasefire over, basically.
- 35:43Speaker 8: And I thought it was interesting.
- 35:44Speaker 15: His entire tone was one to, you know, kind of
- 35:48Speaker 15: not overreact. He said this was not heavy firing. I
- 35:52Speaker 15: don't know if the UAE would agree with that.
- 35:54Speaker 4: All this on the first day of Project Freedom, an
- 35:57Speaker 4: effort from the Trump administration to have the U.S. military
- 36:00Speaker 4: escort ships through the Strait of Hormuz. More on that
- 36:03Speaker 4: from ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Mary Bruce.
- 36:06Speaker 16: The president posting, we will guide their ships safely out
- 36:09Speaker 16: of these restricted waterways so that they can freely and
- 36:12Speaker 16: ably get on with their business. Adding, I am fully
- 36:15Speaker 16: aware that my representatives are having very positive discussions with
- 36:18Speaker 16: the country of Iran, despite later claiming Iran's latest proposal
- 36:22Speaker 16: is not acceptable.
- 36:23Speaker 4: The Supreme Court has restored access to Mifepristone for the
- 36:27Speaker 4: time being. A decision last week from a lower court
- 36:30Speaker 4: in Louisiana looked to limit how that abortion pill was
- 36:32Speaker 4: distributed by mail. Now it will remain available by mail
- 36:36Speaker 4: while the court weighs its next move. Week two of
- 36:39Speaker 4: the case pitting Tesla CEO Elon Musk against OpenAI head
- 36:42Speaker 4: Sam Altman. Musk is suing Altman. after OpenAI dropped its
- 36:46Speaker 4: nonprofit status last year. Today, jurors are hearing from OpenAI
- 36:50Speaker 4: executive Greg Brockman.
- 36:51Speaker 11: Mr.
- 36:51Speaker 14: Brockman is going to testify.
- 36:53Speaker 17: There are already exhibits in evidence that indicate that Mr.
- 36:56Speaker 17: Musk himself was one of those who had some skepticism
- 37:00Speaker 17: early on as to whether or not the nonprofit structure
- 37:03Speaker 17: would really work, and that he only then, when he
- 37:06Speaker 17: didn't get his way in terms of ownership of a
- 37:09Speaker 17: for-profit entity, then he left.
- 37:12Speaker 18: ABC's James Sample, you're listening to ABC News.
- 37:16Speaker 8: WKBN.
- 37:18Speaker 2: 407 in the afternoon, 73 degrees. You're on the air. Hello.
- 37:26Speaker 2: Very strange day we're having here. Wait a minute. You're
- 37:29Speaker 2: on the air. I'm going to say that we got
- 37:35Speaker 2: some issues with our phone lines here. In my opinion.
- 37:42Speaker 2: So we'll try to get it resolved anyway. We'll try
- 37:47Speaker 2: to find out if we have a phone line issue, problems.
- 37:52Speaker 2: Just be persistent. 330-729-9977. Sometimes these things, we're going through
- 37:59Speaker 2: some internal changes as far as things are concerned, and
- 38:02Speaker 2: it seems to be some snafus that are going on.
- 38:06Speaker 2: But be persistent, and I'll do my best to see
- 38:09Speaker 2: if we can... Get things squared away here on NewsRadio
- 38:14Speaker 2: 570 at ODKVN. And I'll get the powers to be
- 38:18Speaker 2: to see if they know what's going on here. There
- 38:32Speaker 2: we go.
- 38:35Speaker 5: All right.
- 38:36Speaker 2: We'll see if that works. Anyway, we're talking here. People ask...
- 38:43Speaker 2: How do I assess this whole situation? And when we
- 38:47Speaker 2: talk about Iran and what's going on with it, there
- 38:52Speaker 2: isn't anything good about $ 5 gasoline. But I don't want people,
- 39:00Speaker 2: when I bellyache about it, I don't want people to
- 39:01Speaker 2: misunderstand me for one minute. I mean, do you think
- 39:04Speaker 2: for a second I... Regret voting for Trump? I do not.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Do you think I would feel that we'd be better
- 39:10Speaker 2: off if Biden was president or Kamala Harris was president?
- 39:14Speaker 2: I do not. So I voted for Trump three times.
- 39:17Speaker 2: In general, overall, I think he's done a really good job.
- 39:25Speaker 2: And I can disagree with him. It doesn't matter whether
- 39:28Speaker 2: I agree or disagree on Trump. the reasons why we
- 39:30Speaker 2: started this war with Iran. It's irrelevant at this point
- 39:33Speaker 2: because it's underway. So it doesn't matter. It's not even
- 39:38Speaker 2: worth debating. I suspect when we reach some type of
- 39:42Speaker 2: conclusion or it's over, we can discuss that. But until then,
- 39:46Speaker 2: what's the point? I mean, it's here. And it's happening.
- 39:51Speaker 2: Do I get frustrated with the Democrats who seem, as
- 39:53Speaker 2: I've said earlier, they seem like they hate Trump more
- 39:56Speaker 2: than they love their country? And I would say that
- 39:58Speaker 2: that's true. It's almost the Democrats' wish for failure. Because
- 40:05Speaker 2: it could make Trump look bad. In so many ways,
- 40:10Speaker 2: as I say, they hate Trump more than they love
- 40:11Speaker 2: their country and they wish for failure. And that makes
- 40:15Speaker 2: me sit back and wonder. why anyone would root in
- 40:21Speaker 2: that fashion. And I find them doing that. So when
- 40:27Speaker 2: I look at this particular situation, I mean, is it
- 40:31Speaker 2: fair to, as I say, I'm not a cheerleader for Trump.
- 40:35Speaker 2: I'd vote for him again. When I look at this situation,
- 40:40Speaker 2: do I have some questions about it? Absolutely. Why we
- 40:45Speaker 2: got in it in the first place. You keep telling
- 40:49Speaker 2: me a deal is close, a deal is near, yet
- 40:51Speaker 2: I don't see one. And I'm constantly hearing this. Iran
- 40:55Speaker 2: wants to make a deal. Iran wants to make a deal.
- 40:57Speaker 2: But there isn't one yet. And I'm still looking for one.
- 41:01Speaker 2: And there isn't one. When is that going to happen?
- 41:10Speaker 2: I keep hearing it. We got him on the ropes.
- 41:12Speaker 2: And I think we do. Economically speaking. They're devastated, but
- 41:19Speaker 2: are they willing to take the hit and wait us out?
- 41:23Speaker 2: Because they know we're going to pack up and go
- 41:25Speaker 2: back home. They know the midterms are coming, and they
- 41:28Speaker 2: know maybe it's a waiting game. I don't know. Is
- 41:32Speaker 2: that part of their culture? They don't care the pain
- 41:34Speaker 2: that's inflicted on their own people? I don't understand, as
- 41:39Speaker 2: I said last hour, their culture. I don't get it.
- 41:47Speaker 2: But I do understand our culture here, as I say,
- 41:50Speaker 2: and I do understand the economics of things. And over
- 41:54Speaker 2: the weekend, I was reading a guy that says the
- 41:57Speaker 2: problem really isn't, is an oil shortage actually is what
- 42:01Speaker 2: the problem is. And that's why when you look at
- 42:05Speaker 2: the global situation, that's why you see $ 5 a gallon
- 42:08Speaker 2: gasoline here. And he seemed to think that that situation
- 42:12Speaker 2: would be getting worse, not better. I mean, that's one
- 42:16Speaker 2: man's opinion. as far as somebody with some degree of
- 42:20Speaker 2: know-how in the industry. So I just pass it along.
- 42:26Speaker 2: So you see gas prices in my neck of the
- 42:28Speaker 2: woods at $ 4. 89, five bucks a gallon, which is interesting
- 42:34Speaker 2: because in other parts of the country, it's less. I
- 42:38Speaker 2: don't know why that is. With the exception of California,
- 42:42Speaker 2: we all know why those prices are high out there.
- 42:44Speaker 2: But why is it less when we look at other
- 42:47Speaker 2: areas close to us. It might be $ 4. 50 a gallon.
- 42:54Speaker 2: And here it's $ 5. You sit back and you wonder, well,
- 42:57Speaker 2: what the hell is going on here? So the headlines today,
- 43:00Speaker 2: Iran attacks UAE.
- 43:03Speaker 11: U.S.
- 43:04Speaker 2: Says it sank boats in Strait of Hormuz. The headlines today,
- 43:13Speaker 2: traffic in the Strait of Hormuz is Won't return to
- 43:16Speaker 2: normal until August or later, according to traders. Well, this
- 43:23Speaker 2: is May. June, July, August? It's a ways off. Next headline, U.S.
- 43:30Speaker 2: military denies Iran's claim it's struck American warship in Strait
- 43:34Speaker 2: of Hormuz. Dow falls 500 points as oil jumps on
- 43:42Speaker 2: fear Iran conflict set to flare up again. So if
- 43:49Speaker 2: that's the case, should I be prepared to see oil
- 43:52Speaker 2: prices go higher than $ 5 a gallon?
- 43:57Speaker 1: Yes?
- 43:57Speaker 5: No?
- 43:59Speaker 2: I mean, that's my initial thought when I'm reading these headlines.
- 44:02Speaker 2: And then you come back and say to yourself, okay,
- 44:04Speaker 2: if that's the situation, if that is what the current
- 44:10Speaker 2: situation is, how long do they expect the American people
- 44:15Speaker 2: to be able to tolerate this? I mean, I'm not
- 44:20Speaker 2: saying that's the reason why spirits went out of businesses
- 44:24Speaker 2: and airlines. They had other issues. But certainly the cost
- 44:27Speaker 2: of what you see as far as jet fuel is
- 44:30Speaker 2: concerned is astronomical. The price of it is through the roof.
- 44:37Speaker 2: So you don't think the ticket prices are going to
- 44:39Speaker 2: increase for anybody wanting to go on vacation or fly
- 44:42Speaker 2: to Florida somewhere? All right, the phone lines are now
- 44:47Speaker 2: back up. I'm told. So, okay, now you can call.
- 44:51Speaker 2: All right, thanks.
- 44:54Speaker 7: 330-729-9977.
- 44:54Speaker 1: 330-729-9977.
- 44:54Speaker 2: So our phone lines were down. We're having some, quite frankly,
- 45:02Speaker 2: I heart is not me, infrastructure issues that are going on.
- 45:06Speaker 2: So our phone lines are working. Frank from Fort Lauderdale
- 45:09Speaker 2: and Jake and the folks that got disconnected, please feel
- 45:13Speaker 2: free to call back and make your points. And you
- 45:18Speaker 2: as well. All of you. 330-729-9977. So, the headlines don't
- 45:27Speaker 2: look good is what I'm saying. The Dow falling 500
- 45:31Speaker 2: points as oil jumps on fear. So, if oil jumps,
- 45:34Speaker 2: should I not anticipate oil prices going up even more?
- 45:37Speaker 2: I don't know. Seems to go hand in hand. But
- 45:44Speaker 2: I do know that it has a devastating effect on everything.
- 45:49Speaker 2: And they can't constantly say, when it comes to elections,
- 45:53Speaker 2: it's the economy, stupid. And it is. And if people
- 45:56Speaker 2: want to act like this isn't a big deal, it's
- 45:58Speaker 2: a very big deal. Whether it's here this week or
- 46:03Speaker 2: next week or the week after or how long this
- 46:05Speaker 2: goes on, it sucks a lot of money out of
- 46:08Speaker 2: your wallets and out of this economy and creates a
- 46:11Speaker 2: lot of inflation. And did the administration misread Iran and
- 46:19Speaker 2: how long this would take? Because I honestly do believe
- 46:21Speaker 2: they thought this would be over much sooner than it is.
- 46:26Speaker 2: And if they keep telling me Iran wants to make
- 46:29Speaker 2: a deal, wants to make a deal, then why are
- 46:34Speaker 2: we talking about doing another round of bombing and this
- 46:36Speaker 2: kind of stuff? I thought they wanted to make a deal.
- 46:40Speaker 2: Conflicting messages. You're on the air.
- 46:43Speaker 3: Hey, Ron, how you doing?
- 46:44Speaker 7: Good.
- 46:44Speaker 2: Your comments.
- 46:46Speaker 6: Hey, a little bit off topic, but I called you
- 46:49Speaker 6: a couple weeks ago about this morning with Gordon Deal.
- 46:52Speaker 5: Did you find out anything?
- 46:54Speaker 2: Frankly, I forgot all about it with the election going on.
- 46:57Speaker 6: Oh, that's all right. I'll touch on the topic you
- 47:02Speaker 6: were talking about today.
- 47:04Speaker 2: Another important topic, just as a side note to folks,
- 47:06Speaker 2: is tomorrow is Election Day, right? It's May 5th. So,
- 47:09Speaker 2: I mean, if people got some comments about the election,
- 47:12Speaker 2: because we have a lot of local elections that are
- 47:14Speaker 2: going on, if people have some input... on any of
- 47:16Speaker 2: our races, give us a call as well. The time
- 47:20Speaker 2: is now. Go ahead, sir. I'm sorry.
- 47:22Speaker 6: That's all right. What you were talking about last week
- 47:24Speaker 6: with being critical of Trump, and I honestly believe you
- 47:28Speaker 6: should be more critical of who you vote for than
- 47:31Speaker 6: the person you didn't. And because that is your.
- 47:36Speaker 3: Right, because you're.
- 47:38Speaker 6: Trying to control the person that you wanted in there
- 47:41Speaker 6: in the first place. But if they go off the handle,
- 47:45Speaker 6: which I think he's going a little bit off the handle,
- 47:48Speaker 6: you have absolutely every right to be critical.
- 47:50Speaker 5: Of the guy.
- 47:53Speaker 6: And usually Rich is spot on with things, but I
- 47:56Speaker 6: was very taken back by him a little over a
- 47:59Speaker 6: week ago with a kind of elitist attitude of, just
- 48:03Speaker 6: wait it out.
- 48:04Speaker 5: It's okay.
- 48:05Speaker 6: Don't worry about it.
- 48:06Speaker 11: No.
- 48:06Speaker 7: No.
- 48:08Speaker 6: People are really hurting out there monetarily because of the
- 48:12Speaker 6: price of gas and other things that are still up
- 48:15Speaker 6: from the Biden era.
- 48:17Speaker 2: Yes. Yeah, and you're correct. And people are saying, hey, Trump,
- 48:23Speaker 2: get back to the affordability issue and America first issue.
- 48:28Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 48:29Speaker 6: You ran on that platform to make our lives better.
- 48:33Speaker 6: and yet you still haven't done anything with Ukraine to
- 48:36Speaker 6: shut off all that money going there. You're dumping money
- 48:40Speaker 6: hand over fist to Iran to try to fight something
- 48:43Speaker 6: over there. What are you doing about America first?
- 48:48Speaker 2: I agree with that. I'm in total agreement with that.
- 48:51Speaker 2: America first affordability, I think, is far more important than
- 48:55Speaker 2: the situation in Iran. I'm with you 100%. Thank you.
- 49:00Speaker 5: You're on the air. Yeah, just checking.
- 49:03Speaker 19: Everything's good up here in Rock Creek. I can hear
- 49:05Speaker 19: you loud and clear.
- 49:06Speaker 2: On the phone.
- 49:07Speaker 19: But Iran is all about money and nuclear power, and
- 49:14Speaker 19: that gives you money. It's a mafia running that country
- 49:18Speaker 19: over there. And as long as they got the money flowing,
- 49:22Speaker 19: they're okay. They can threaten nuclear all day, 7-24. But
- 49:28Speaker 19: it's about power and money and propaganda. But if you
- 49:32Speaker 19: cut off their money supply, they're going to fall. And
- 49:36Speaker 19: that's what Donald's doing. Donald is a genius. And our
- 49:43Speaker 19: Secretary of Treasury is a genius. And we won't even
- 49:48Speaker 19: have to put boots on the ground. You've just got
- 49:50Speaker 19: to be patient. And don't let those Democrats talk you different.
- 49:55Speaker 19: Like that one guy said, put a sock in it. Democrats,
- 49:58Speaker 19: put a sock in it. Donald knows what he's got.
- 50:01Speaker 19: He's got a great team behind him. This is amazing.
- 50:04Speaker 19: This is incredible what's going on in our country today,
- 50:07Speaker 19: in our world. Donald's going to change the whole design
- 50:12Speaker 19: of the world as far as power, economics, and less war.
- 50:21Speaker 19: You just got to hang in there. Don't let those
- 50:24Speaker 19: Democrats give you all that propaganda.
- 50:27Speaker 14: There he is.
- 50:29Speaker 2: The words of wisdom coming from Rock Creek.
- 50:31Speaker 19: We've got a library levy up here. I don't know
- 50:34Speaker 19: what to vote for now. I just don't want them
- 50:37Speaker 19: to build a big Taj Mahal like they have down
- 50:39Speaker 19: in Louisville and Columbiana and stuff. But libraries are almost
- 50:47Speaker 19: a thing of the past.
- 50:49Speaker 2: Yes, they are.
- 50:50Speaker 19: It's more like a community center today than a library,
- 50:54Speaker 19: I think. I'm struggling with it. I might not just
- 50:58Speaker 19: vote for it. Let the other people decide.
- 51:02Speaker 2: No, you better go out and vote against it. I
- 51:04Speaker 2: appreciate your call. You're on air.
- 51:08Speaker 5: Hey, Ron.
- 51:09Speaker 14: To respond to that gentleman two callers ago that said,
- 51:12Speaker 14: I don't care. No, I do care. I'm like everybody else.
- 51:16Speaker 14: I don't like paying five bucks a gallon.
- 51:19Speaker 2: No, but I think his point was you're in a
- 51:22Speaker 2: different income bracket as a lot of people, and this
- 51:25Speaker 2: idea of you're supposed to take it, well, how long
- 51:28Speaker 2: are you supposed to take it? Because it's having a
- 51:30Speaker 2: devastating effect on a lot of business and individuals, whether
- 51:34Speaker 2: it's here now for a month or two months or whatever.
- 51:37Speaker 2: I mean, I like to get your assessment, and I
- 51:40Speaker 2: want to sit back and listen. I keep hearing, Ron
- 51:43Speaker 2: wants to make a deal. Ron wants to make a deal.
- 51:44Speaker 2: There is no deal. And it appears we're talking about
- 51:50Speaker 2: going back to bombing and stuff. Well, I thought Iran
- 51:52Speaker 2: wanted to make a deal. I thought we had them
- 51:53Speaker 2: right where we needed them. I mean, how long is
- 51:56Speaker 2: this supposed to go on with these headlines about where
- 52:01Speaker 2: I was just reading it? Dow falls 500 points as
- 52:05Speaker 2: oil jumps on fear of Iran conflict. So if oil
- 52:08Speaker 2: prices go up, you could go beyond $ 5 a gallon.
- 52:11Speaker 2: I mean, your assessment, please.
- 52:14Speaker 14: I think here's the problem in Iran. You've got people
- 52:17Speaker 14: that do want to make a deal.
- 52:19Speaker 5: And I mean, all of them.
- 52:20Speaker 2: Stand by. Just stand by. I want to come back
- 52:22Speaker 2: with your thoughts. Rich, the pharmacist, responds to it all.
- 52:25Speaker 8: When we come back after this, NewsRadio 570 WKBN. NewsRadio
- 52:29Speaker 8: 570 WKBN. Well, he's been under a lot of attack today.
- 52:33Speaker 2: A lot of criticism from Rich, the pharmacist, from callers
- 52:36Speaker 2: and Ted, the conservative, and more today. But go ahead, Rich.
- 52:40Speaker 3: Um..
- 52:41Speaker 14: Here's the problem you're running into in Iran. You're dealing
- 52:44Speaker 14: with a bunch of religious nut jobs. And like I
- 52:47Speaker 14: said before, there's two camps. There's one camp that just
- 52:50Speaker 14: doesn't care. They just want to kill everybody and go
- 52:55Speaker 14: meet all and get their 72 virgins. And you have
- 52:58Speaker 14: the other camp that still wants that, but they also
- 53:01Speaker 14: realize they have a country to run in. And so
- 53:04Speaker 14: they want to make a deal, but the problem is
- 53:07Speaker 14: the people that are controlling the guns and the power
- 53:09Speaker 14: are mostly the religious nutjobs. So as much as those
- 53:13Speaker 14: people want to make a deal, the other people aren't
- 53:16Speaker 14: going to let them make the deal. And the thing
- 53:19Speaker 14: that I think Trump, if I was going to criticize
- 53:22Speaker 14: him with anything on this, once again, you have to
- 53:26Speaker 14: look at history. Look at, when you're dealing with an
- 53:30Speaker 14: enemy like this, probably the closest analogy we would have
- 53:33Speaker 14: would be the Nazis in Germany and the Japanese government
- 53:38Speaker 14: during World War II, where no matter how much pain
- 53:41Speaker 14: you inflicted on them, if you look in both instances,
- 53:45Speaker 14: they fought until their countries were destroyed. In Germany's case,
- 53:48Speaker 14: they fought until they were literally completely overrun. Japan, finally,
- 53:52Speaker 14: after the second nuke, said, you know, we're going to
- 53:55Speaker 14: bear the unbearable. and and surrender but at that point
- 53:59Speaker 14: they were they were still beaten to a degree that
- 54:02Speaker 14: we can't even comprehend today and well five dollar a
- 54:06Speaker 14: gallon gas is bad and i don't like it my
- 54:09Speaker 14: biggest fear is what what's it going to do the
- 54:11Speaker 14: economy three six eight months down the road uh... there
- 54:15Speaker 14: are some pundits now saying you know right now the
- 54:18Speaker 14: stock market's been a little exuberant on all mostly on
- 54:21Speaker 14: this artificial intelligence stuff And that's what's buoying it up. Plus,
- 54:25Speaker 14: earnings reports and stuff have been good. So, you know,
- 54:29Speaker 14: it should, with what's been going on with the Iran war,
- 54:32Speaker 14: you would think the market would be down 10 or 15%.
- 54:34Speaker 2: Well, it is down today. I mean, there is no
- 54:40Speaker 2: way that you can't tell me that this isn't affecting
- 54:42Speaker 2: the economy and spending. There is absolutely no way, even
- 54:46Speaker 2: in a short period of time. It is the main
- 54:49Speaker 2: thing I hear everybody bitching about on how expensive it
- 54:53Speaker 2: is to fill up their vehicle. And that money's got
- 54:56Speaker 2: to come from somewhere where they're not spending it somewhere else.
- 54:59Speaker 2: And I'm hearing it from business as well. Small business,
- 55:02Speaker 2: all types of businesses have raised their prices. They can't
- 55:05Speaker 2: absorb this.
- 55:08Speaker 14: I'm not going to argue that with you.
- 55:10Speaker 5: I agree.
- 55:11Speaker 14: I can empathize with people that are hurting. It's not
- 55:13Speaker 14: that I don't feel for these people.
- 55:14Speaker 2: So do you think they're sitting there worried about Iran?
- 55:18Speaker 2: I mean, at any point, do you criticize the Trump administration?
- 55:23Speaker 2: I will say it publicly. I think they thought this
- 55:26Speaker 2: would be over much sooner than it is. I think
- 55:30Speaker 2: they misread the entire thing. The backbone of Iran is say,
- 55:34Speaker 2: screw you. And I remember Iran saying, if you want
- 55:37Speaker 2: to destroy us and our economy, we can destroy you
- 55:39Speaker 2: and your economy too. But there's no question militarily, we're
- 55:44Speaker 2: doing a great job. There's no question about it at all.
- 55:47Speaker 2: But I don't understand the Iranian people. And I don't understand,
- 55:51Speaker 2: and it's a whole different culture from my culture, so
- 55:54Speaker 2: I don't have a read on them. But they keep
- 55:57Speaker 2: telling me, we got them right where we want them.
- 55:59Speaker 2: We got them right where we want them. But if
- 56:01Speaker 2: that's the case, why are we talking about bombing them
- 56:03Speaker 2: again if you got them right where you want them?
- 56:05Speaker 2: Why are you telling me there's a deal's imminent, they
- 56:07Speaker 2: want to make a deal? Why are you talking about
- 56:09Speaker 2: bombing them again if they want to make a deal?
- 56:12Speaker 2: What is the truth? It reminds me of Vietnam all
- 56:15Speaker 2: over again. What is the truth? How much do you
- 56:19Speaker 2: expect the American people to take of this, of $ 5 gasoline,
- 56:24Speaker 2: or higher since oil went up again today? I'd like
- 56:27Speaker 2: to get your comments. Just hang in there with me,
- 56:29Speaker 2: all right? I mean, I'm going to pick on Rich
- 56:33Speaker 2: the pharmacist when we come back after this. Stay tuned. Again,
- 56:36Speaker 2: this is Dan Rivers.

- 58:04Speaker 21: Back to it.
- 58:06Speaker 2: News Radio 570. Go ahead with your thoughts overall. I mean,
- 58:14Speaker 2: I've given you mine. I mean, these guys could have
- 58:17Speaker 2: misread a lot of this. I mean, I understand they
- 58:20Speaker 2: know more than I do, but they really thought that
- 58:22Speaker 2: this would end much sooner than it did. And it's
- 58:25Speaker 2: not ending. They keep talking every day. I hear we
- 58:27Speaker 2: got a deal. Where's the deal? And today the market
- 58:32Speaker 2: is down. It'll go up whenever there's a deal, and
- 58:38Speaker 2: this is a mess, and economy's becoming a mess in
- 58:42Speaker 2: this country as a result of it.
- 58:45Speaker 14: Because it should be over. I mean, you take a
- 58:48Speaker 14: look at what we have done to that country in
- 58:50Speaker 14: the last two months. This is only two months old.
- 58:54Speaker 14: You know, if you look at wars before this, World
- 58:56Speaker 14: War II.
- 59:00Speaker 2: This is not a war. This was not meant to...
- 59:05Speaker 2: We don't want to be in the Middle East. We
- 59:07Speaker 2: don't want to be in forever wars. He ran on that.
- 59:09Speaker 2: So don't give me the war stuff like this should
- 59:11Speaker 2: go on six months or a year if it does
- 59:14Speaker 2: and we pay high gas prices that whole time and
- 59:16Speaker 2: ruin our economy like that's some justification for it. They
- 59:19Speaker 2: didn't go into it with that being the idea.
- 59:24Speaker 14: I think they went into it thinking it would be
- 59:27Speaker 14: over by now. And by all rights, if you were
- 59:28Speaker 14: dealing with normal, rational people, it would be. But you're not.
- 59:33Speaker 3: Now, listening to your news.
- 59:34Speaker 2: OK, but pause for a second. Pause for a second.
- 59:37Speaker 2: But you don't understand them and their culture. You're thinking
- 59:40Speaker 2: like you're thinking like that's how they should think. They
- 59:43Speaker 2: don't think like you. I can only tell you from
- 59:47Speaker 2: my oldest son who said the first thing is you
- 59:50Speaker 2: don't understand them. You don't understand their thinking. You want
- 59:53Speaker 2: to think that they think like you. They do not,
- 59:56Speaker 2: he used to say. That's the first thing you need
- 59:59Speaker 2: to understand.
- 1:00:00Speaker 14: Ron, I've been saying that. That's exactly what I've been saying.
- 1:00:03Speaker 14: You're not dealing with normal, rational people. The Arab world
- 1:00:07Speaker 14: is totally foreign to the Western world. We have virtually
- 1:00:12Speaker 14: nothing in common with them. Different rule of law, different everything. But,
- 1:00:17Speaker 14: I mean, you would think a normal, rational country would
- 1:00:20Speaker 14: have capitulated by now, but they're not, and I just
- 1:00:22Speaker 14: said that. You know, that said, we're only two months in.
- 1:00:25Speaker 14: One of the encouraging things that I just heard on
- 1:00:27Speaker 14: your news break was that they actually escorted and have
- 1:00:31Speaker 14: a lane cleared to get ships out. If you start
- 1:00:34Speaker 14: seeing them move ships out of the Strait of Hormuz
- 1:00:37Speaker 14: while at the same time blocking Iran in so they
- 1:00:39Speaker 14: can't do anything, at that point, The war may go
- 1:00:44Speaker 14: on for a while, but it's only hurting Iran because
- 1:00:47Speaker 14: you're going to start to see traffic move out of
- 1:00:50Speaker 14: the street again and hopefully start to give us some
- 1:00:52Speaker 14: relief on this.
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: Well, some of these people say, well, it's not going
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: to just hurt. Iran, it's going to hurt China with
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: its oil. It's going to hurt India.
- 1:01:00Speaker 5: Good.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: No, let me finish. It's going to create starvation in
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: Africa because of fertilizer. And those problems are going to
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: cause an oil guy that I was reading over the
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: weekend says, you've got a problem with an oil shortage.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: That's what your problem is. And you're going to see
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: the cost of oil continue to go up. So you
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: can say, good, good, but it's not good if it
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: means you're paying $ 5. 50 or $ 6 a gallon.
- 1:01:28Speaker 14: If they start getting oil out of the Gulf, if
- 1:01:31Speaker 14: they can start to get those big super tankers moving
- 1:01:35Speaker 14: and start getting oil delivered the way it was, even
- 1:01:39Speaker 14: to 50% of what it was before the war, you're
- 1:01:41Speaker 14: going to see oil come down. There's plenty of oil
- 1:01:43Speaker 14: in the world. Before this, why do you think prices
- 1:01:47Speaker 14: were so low before?
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: Doesn't matter. Why are they so high now?
- 1:01:52Speaker 5: Because 20% of the world's oil hasn't left in the
- 1:01:55Speaker 5: last two months.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: But about the other 80%.
- 1:01:59Speaker 5: Well, the other 80% is being shared now. It's supply
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: and demand. Go back to economics. This is simple macroeconomics.
- 1:02:08Speaker 5: As supply goes down, price goes up. As supply goes up,
- 1:02:12Speaker 5: price goes down. So if supply starts to come back on,
- 1:02:16Speaker 5: if they can start to get a lot of these
- 1:02:17Speaker 5: big tankers moving and start delivering oil to the rest
- 1:02:20Speaker 5: of the world, that means the Europeans aren't going to
- 1:02:23Speaker 5: be sending tankers over to our country to buy it.
- 1:02:25Speaker 5: They're not going to be sending tankers over to Brazil
- 1:02:27Speaker 5: and Venezuela to buy oil.
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: Well, what's the time frame?
- 1:02:30Speaker 14: They're going to start getting it out of the Middle East.
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: That's all well and good, but when?
- 1:02:35Speaker 14: Well, like I said, today they just said on your
- 1:02:37Speaker 14: news break that today they were able to get a
- 1:02:39Speaker 14: lane open and cleared so that they can get it out.
- 1:02:43Speaker 14: whether those boats are going to risk it. I mean,
- 1:02:46Speaker 14: if I'm a Greek tanker owner and I own a
- 1:02:48Speaker 14: billion-dollar boat, I'm probably not going to be the first
- 1:02:51Speaker 14: guy to take a boat loaded with a million, two
- 1:02:54Speaker 14: million barrels of oil, whatever they hold, through the strait
- 1:02:58Speaker 14: and have Iran hit it somehow. But if they can
- 1:03:02Speaker 14: establish that this lane is clear and if they can
- 1:03:04Speaker 14: start to move traffic through it, you're going to start
- 1:03:07Speaker 14: to see relief from this. The converse of that is,
- 1:03:10Speaker 14: if the Iranians are able to start hitting boats and
- 1:03:12Speaker 14: they can't get things moving, it's going to keep going up.
- 1:03:16Speaker 14: And you just don't know. Right now, you would think
- 1:03:20Speaker 14: the United States, with its military superiority, should be able
- 1:03:24Speaker 14: to open that strait. And if they do and they
- 1:03:27Speaker 14: start to get stuff moving, I think you'll start to
- 1:03:28Speaker 14: see some relief. But once again, it's not going to
- 1:03:31Speaker 14: be overnight.
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: Do you think the United States military is going to
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: be there forever to do this? Because at some point
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: they're going to leave. I mean, keep in mind, Iran
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: is saying that. I'm just trying to say what the
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: other side is saying. They're saying sooner or later you're
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: going to leave. And that's true.
- 1:03:55Speaker 14: Well, maybe it's time. I think one of the other
- 1:03:58Speaker 14: things that, you know, right now Saudi Arabia and UAE
- 1:04:01Speaker 14: are both exporting a decent amount of oil through the
- 1:04:03Speaker 14: Red Sea. They've got pipelines that go over there. That's
- 1:04:07Speaker 14: why it isn't worse, actually, because there's still some oil
- 1:04:10Speaker 14: getting out of the Middle East. I think long term,
- 1:04:14Speaker 14: a year or two from now, you're going to see
- 1:04:16Speaker 14: pipelines built through Iraq into Turkey to get into Europe.
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: I'm here to tell you people are not going to
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: put up with this crap a year or two from now.
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: I'm here to tell you, I.
- 1:04:29Speaker 14: Think by this fall you're going to see, and this
- 1:04:32Speaker 14: is a big if, if they can get this straight open,
- 1:04:35Speaker 14: by August, September, you're going to see gas prices back
- 1:04:39Speaker 14: down in probably the three, three and a quarter, 375
- 1:04:44Speaker 14: a gallon range, depending upon how much oil they can
- 1:04:46Speaker 14: start to float out of there.
- 1:04:50Speaker 5: It's simple supply and demand.
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: I understand that. Here's simple supply and demand. This is
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: affecting the American economy right now. Period. I don't care
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: about a month from now or two months from now.
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: Right now, it's affecting it. At $ 5 a gallon or
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: at $ 4. 85.
- 1:05:12Speaker 14: This is that sign when you have little kids and
- 1:05:14Speaker 14: you go into a..
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: No, no, no, no. I'm just trying to give you..
- 1:05:17Speaker 14: We broke it.
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: We broke it.
- 1:05:19Speaker 22: Right.
- 1:05:20Speaker 14: Now we've got to own it and fix it. So
- 1:05:26Speaker 14: you can see we can bellyache about it all day long.
- 1:05:29Speaker 5: And I agree. I'm not trying to minimize the pain
- 1:05:32Speaker 5: people are.
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: Listen, I will be. Listen, I voted for Trump. I
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: vote for him again. The good far outweighs the bad.
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: But is a fair discussion to say, was this a
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: mistake from the very beginning? Well, that's to be debated
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: after this is concluded, because you're in it right now.
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: You're in it at this point in time. But I
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: think it's a fair conclusion, and you agree, they misread
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: this situation. They thought it would be over much sooner
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: than it has been, and it isn't. I think Trump.
- 1:06:02Speaker 5: Thought it would be over.
- 1:06:02Speaker 14: I don't think, I think from a lot of the
- 1:06:04Speaker 14: stuff I've read on the military, they gave, they told him.
- 1:06:07Speaker 5: Look, you know, when we go in.
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: Well, Trump's calling the shots.
- 1:06:11Speaker 5: We're going to close the strait. And he gambled. He
- 1:06:14Speaker 5: rolled the dice and he gambled. And, you know, this
- 1:06:16Speaker 5: time it didn't work for him.
- 1:06:20Speaker 14: At least so far. What I'm saying is long term,
- 1:06:24Speaker 14: I think this probably will work out to our advantage
- 1:06:27Speaker 14: long term.
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: Short term, it sucks.
- 1:06:30Speaker 5: Short term, it sucks. There's no other way to say it.
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: And what's short term? I think if people said, okay,
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: let's see, May 15th, everything's starting to get, the market's
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: going back up, oil prices are coming back down, we
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: see relief coming. But There's no sign of that. I mean,
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: are you the least bit concerned that you're constantly hearing
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: they want to make a deal, they want to make
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: a deal, and there's no deal?
- 1:06:58Speaker 14: No, that's because that's the way those people are. Not
- 1:07:01Speaker 14: only that, when they make the deal, they lie. Remember,
- 1:07:04Speaker 14: the Iranian foreign minister said the street is open. And
- 1:07:08Speaker 14: then the other people that actually control the guns said, no,
- 1:07:10Speaker 14: it isn't. So in one day, oil went down, what
- 1:07:14Speaker 14: was it, $ 10, $ 12 a barrel. two, three weeks ago
- 1:07:18Speaker 14: when they said it was open for a day. And
- 1:07:20Speaker 14: then the very next day it was closed because the
- 1:07:23Speaker 14: people who control the guns said, we're not agreeing to this.
- 1:07:27Speaker 14: And they closed it down again. They threatened ships.
- 1:07:33Speaker 5: You're not dealing with rational people.
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: No, you're dealing, you keep saying that. You're dealing with
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: their culture. They don't think you're rational. Stop trying to
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: say you're not dealing with rational people. That's who they are.
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: You knew that going in there. It's a whole different culture.
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: Stop saying you're not dealing with rational people. They don't
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: think you're rational.
- 1:08:01Speaker 8: They think, who are you.
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: To tell us we can't have a nuclear weapon? This
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: is our country. We're 93 million people. Who the hell
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: are you to tell us that? And they think, you
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: think you want to do that to us? We'll do
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: this to you. Who was it? Was it Robert Kennedy
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: or John F. Kennedy that said, you better understand the enemies,
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: where the enemy's coming from when you get into these situations.
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: You better understand what their mindset is.
- 1:08:27Speaker 14: And that would be fine if we were studying going
- 1:08:30Speaker 14: to war with Iran now.
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: You're in a war with them right now.
- 1:08:33Speaker 14: Hillary Clinton, at this point, what difference does it make?
- 1:08:36Speaker 14: Because you're in the war.
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: Well, because..
- 1:08:38Speaker 14: You can go through the coulda, shoulda, woulda, but right
- 1:08:41Speaker 14: now we're in it. You're going to have to persevere
- 1:08:44Speaker 14: and get through it. Because the worst thing you could
- 1:08:47Speaker 14: do right now would be to just pull out and
- 1:08:49Speaker 14: just say, you know what, we're going home. At that point,
- 1:08:53Speaker 14: then Iran does control the strait. They start charging a
- 1:08:56Speaker 14: million or two million dollars about tariffs, which generates... I
- 1:08:59Speaker 14: forget what it was, 50 or 100 billion dollars a
- 1:09:02Speaker 14: year for them.
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: And how come they didn't do that?
- 1:09:05Speaker 14: Money to buy whatever they need to buy.
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: How come they didn't do that before the war?
- 1:09:10Speaker 14: I don't think they realized how much money they could
- 1:09:12Speaker 14: actually make if they controlled the strait. Plus, they probably
- 1:09:15Speaker 14: figured nobody's going to let them control the strait.
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: So did we create a monster?
- 1:09:21Speaker 14: No, well, I mean, the monster is atrophying. The monster
- 1:09:25Speaker 14: is in a death by.
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: The wayside right now.
- 1:09:27Speaker 5: We're just waiting for it to die.
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: Okay, when the American ships leave, who will control the strait?
- 1:09:35Speaker 14: That's almost more of a world issue than a U.S.
- 1:09:37Speaker 14: issue or a Gulf issue. Maybe the Arab countries need
- 1:09:39Speaker 14: to start hiring some people or developing their own navy
- 1:09:43Speaker 14: and resources to do it.
- 1:09:44Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:09:45Speaker 14: I don't think, like I've said, when this is all
- 1:09:48Speaker 14: said and done, I'm for basically just bringing everybody home
- 1:09:52Speaker 14: from everywhere they're at and just disengaging from most of
- 1:09:54Speaker 14: the rest of the world. Because I don't think it
- 1:09:56Speaker 14: is our job to be the world policeman anymore. I'm
- 1:10:00Speaker 14: tired of it. I'm tired of losing American lives. I'm
- 1:10:03Speaker 14: tired of spending American money. And I'm tired of doing that,
- 1:10:08Speaker 14: and then the rest of the world still can't stand us.
- 1:10:12Speaker 14: So just the heck with them. Let Europe worry about
- 1:10:14Speaker 14: Europe if Putin invades and takes them over? I really
- 1:10:17Speaker 14: don't care at this point. They almost deserve it because
- 1:10:20Speaker 14: they're a bunch of... with their arrogance.
- 1:10:23Speaker 5: It's their oil. The oil that comes out of that
- 1:10:25Speaker 5: Gulf mostly goes to Europe, and yet they won't lift
- 1:10:29Speaker 5: a finger.
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: I hear you saying that, but on the other hand,
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: they say, but you're paying $ 5 a gallon because it's
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: a global market. So when you say it's only 20%
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: of the oil and it's their oil, yeah, but look
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: at what's happening to your price.
- 1:10:47Speaker 14: Well, because they're sending tankers over here to buy my
- 1:10:49Speaker 14: oil now. That's the problem. So that's what's driving our
- 1:10:52Speaker 14: price up. Like I said, through 2016, from I think
- 1:10:57Speaker 14: it was 1974 to 2016, you couldn't export American oil.
- 1:11:01Speaker 14: If you just put that law back in, even temporarily,
- 1:11:03Speaker 14: if you said, well, we're going to do it until
- 1:11:05Speaker 14: this war ends itself, our price would drop overnight.
- 1:11:09Speaker 5: It would plummet.
- 1:11:10Speaker 14: And the rest of the world would skyrocket.
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: Right, but in 1974, we stopped exporting oil. When you say...
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: I forget what you said about their culture. Would you
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: say that the caller that called attacking you that said,
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: you don't understand his situation because you make a lot
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: more money than he does and the effect this is
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: having on him. He said, basically, that caller was saying,
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: you don't understand his culture, his situation in America as
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: your fellow American.
- 1:11:47Speaker 14: This isn't the first energy crisis.
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: No, but he's saying you can weather it much better,
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: these increase, because you make a lot of money. He's
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: saying he's just your.
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: Bag of donuts.
- 1:11:58Speaker 14: I don't have the expenses I used to have.
- 1:12:00Speaker 5: I'm old.
- 1:12:02Speaker 14: If you look at where the money comes from, it's
- 1:12:04Speaker 14: mostly with the older people.
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: He's talking about your income as a pharmacist versus his
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: as a worker.
- 1:12:11Speaker 14: And like I said, I empathize with people. I work
- 1:12:13Speaker 14: with people who don't make anywhere near the money I
- 1:12:16Speaker 14: make that are hurting, that they drive every day and
- 1:12:19Speaker 14: they're paying the $ 4. 50, $ 5 a gallon gas. I don't,
- 1:12:25Speaker 14: I anymore wonder how people actually are able to live
- 1:12:29Speaker 14: their lives.
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: I mean, you know, think of the cost of this.
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: Think of like, for example, just school systems refilling their
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: diesel tanks up for their school buses. And how much
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: more that costs. Think about farmers. How much more that
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: costs to run those diesel tractors. Think about trucking companies.
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: How much more that's costing. Think about regular gas. How
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: much that's costing Amazon to deliver your package. Or people
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: that have to drive distances to work and back. This
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: is an immediate effect. This isn't, oh, it's no big deal.
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: This is an immediate effect on the economy. And it's...
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: Hopefully it'll go down.
- 1:13:14Speaker 14: I understand that, but the point is we're in the
- 1:13:16Speaker 14: middle of this. There's nothing you can do but to
- 1:13:19Speaker 14: finish it at this point. The fastest way to get
- 1:13:22Speaker 14: it back down is to finish it as quickly as
- 1:13:25Speaker 14: you can. You can't go back. The decision was made
- 1:13:28Speaker 14: to do it. You can armchair quarterback and second guess
- 1:13:32Speaker 14: all you want. It's over and done with.
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: One of the things I thought an interesting observation for
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: the G2 made is When is Scott going? He says, well,
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: you better be careful it doesn't finish Trump's presidency with
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: the midterms.
- 1:13:46Speaker 14: I think we were in trouble with the midterms anyway.
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: But the American first agenda and affordability and everything, remember
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: that was what G2' s biggest concern was, taking your eye
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: off the ball, affordability, getting prices down. That's what you
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: were elected on, securing the border. You weren't elected on
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: this situation you created with Iran. Richard Farmacist taking a
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: lot of heat today from callers, Richard. They're coming after you.
- 1:14:13Speaker 14: Take care, Ron.
- 1:14:15Speaker 5: I'll be back.
- 1:14:16Speaker 8: All right. 570 WKBN.
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: All right. 456 News Radio, 570 WKBN. Ron Fripp, Stadium
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: GM in the heart of Salem. As a customer, I
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: encourage you to go to a dealership which you just
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: find refreshing, quite frankly. Mike Hudak runs the operation. Shorty
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: Navarro owns it. It's not part of some big conglomerate.
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: It isn't. It's locally owned and operated. It's Stadium GM.
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: They carry all that General Motors makes. Buick, Cadillac, GMC,
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: Chevrolet under one roof. So it's all right there, whether
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: you're leasing or buying, whether you're looking for new or used.
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: And when I talked to you about in 2017, my
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: wife and daughter purchased their Cruzes at Stadium GM, we
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: couldn't have been treated better. And you'll find the same experience.
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: And then my wife bought a Chevy Equinox this year
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: at Stadium GM. And it's just such a simple process.
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: They want your business, they want to keep your business,
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: and they want the rest of your family's business for
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: generation after generation. It's always been a philosophy at Stadium GM.
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: And that's how they treat you from the service departments
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: to the sales departments. It's just how they run the operation.
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: I think you'll find it refreshing. If you go online
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: at stadiumgm.com, you can see all their products, new, used,
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: Carfax reports, fair pricing on your used cars, trucks, SUVs.
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: So I know it can be a daunting task. And
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: I know it can be something that you don't look
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: forward to when it comes to purchasing your next vehicle.
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: But I think I can make it a little bit
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: better for you by sharing with you Stadium GM in
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: the heart of Salem. The experience that we had as
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: a family that I think you'll have as a family
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: as well. And how Mike Hudak runs that operation. And
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: how refreshing you'll find it to be.
- 1:16:11Speaker 5: All right?
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: I think you'll enjoy it. Stadium GM in the heart
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: of Salem. You're on the air.
- 1:16:17Speaker 7: Ron, would you like to know what Iran is thinking?
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:16:22Speaker 7: I will enlighten you.
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: Good!
- 1:16:24Speaker 10: And they watch..
- 1:16:26Speaker 7: They watch the same news you and I do. They're
- 1:16:30Speaker 7: listening to Democrats in our media whine and cry about
- 1:16:36Speaker 7: the war, and they know that there's that 60-day deadline
- 1:16:39Speaker 7: that just expired, and if they can just hold out
- 1:16:42Speaker 7: a little bit longer, Congress is going to make Trump stop,
- 1:16:46Speaker 7: and then they can go right back to business as usual.
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: Okay, is that what they're thinking?
- 1:16:55Speaker 7: That's what they're thinking. And if it gets worse enough..
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: Stand by. Stand by. Let me do my headlines. I
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: want to come back and hear more of what you
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: have to say after this.
- 1:17:08Speaker 23: From ABC News, I'm Lindsay Davis, anchor of Prime, streaming
- 1:17:13Speaker 23: weeknights on ABC News Live. President Trump says the war
- 1:17:17Speaker 23: in Iran is going very well, despite the United Arab
- 1:17:19Speaker 23: Emirates saying it's been intercepting significant fire from Iran today.
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: They have no Navy. They have no Air Force. They
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: have no anti-aircraft equipment. They have no radar. They have
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: no nothing. They have no leaders, actually.
- 1:17:33Speaker 23: Increased hostilities have put pressure on an already fragile ceasefire
- 1:17:36Speaker 23: in the region as the U.S. military begins escorting commercial
- 1:17:39Speaker 23: ships through the Strait of Hormuz. ABC's Louis Martinez.
- 1:17:43Speaker 24: The effort here is to provide a defensive shield, and
- 1:17:45Speaker 24: to that point earlier today, we understand that the United
- 1:17:48Speaker 24: States military brought down some drones, brought down some cruise missiles,
- 1:17:53Speaker 24: and destroyed some six small Iranian craft that were targeting
- 1:17:58Speaker 24: commercial shipping.
- 1:17:59Speaker 23: It's all put increased pressure on gas prices, with the
- 1:18:01Speaker 23: average price for a barrel of Brent crude up nearly 6%
- 1:18:04Speaker 23: today to close at its highest level since the summer
- 1:18:07Speaker 23: of 2022. And economist Joe Bruce Welles says the increased
- 1:18:11Speaker 23: fuel costs are just the beginning.
- 1:18:12Speaker 25: Those increasing gasoline prices cause everything that needs to be
- 1:18:15Speaker 25: delivered to get more expensive. And guess where it's going
- 1:18:18Speaker 25: to show up most clearly? It's going to be in food.
- 1:18:21Speaker 23: Cole Allen was in court today. He's the California man
- 1:18:24Speaker 23: accused of trying to assassinate President Trump at the White
- 1:18:26Speaker 23: House Correspondents Center last month.
- 1:18:28Speaker 26: This hearing was called by Cole Allen's defense attorneys because
- 1:18:32Speaker 26: he was put on suicide watch inside Pennsylvania.
- 1:18:35Speaker 21: These D.C.
- 1:18:36Speaker 26: Corrections facilities. Now, he was ultimately taken off suicide watch,
- 1:18:41Speaker 26: but the prosecutor for the government at least said in
- 1:18:44Speaker 26: court that in his writings that he sent to family
- 1:18:46Speaker 26: before attempting to carry out that attack, that he made
- 1:18:49Speaker 26: it seem like he would not survive the attack, noting
- 1:18:52Speaker 26: that that would be a reason to keep him on
- 1:18:54Speaker 26: suicide watch.
- 1:18:55Speaker 23: ABC's Catherine Falders and Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have
- 1:18:59Speaker 23: agreed to settle their legal dispute over alleged abuse that
- 1:19:01Speaker 23: took place on the set of the movie It Ends
- 1:19:03Speaker 23: With Us. You're listening to ABC News.
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: Back to it, NewsRadio 570, Dodie Covey, and Iran Ferb.
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: So you say, well, they're watching the same news that
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: you're watching in Iran.
- 1:19:18Speaker 5: Obviously.
- 1:19:19Speaker 7: I mean, if they're smart, they would. And I'm sure
- 1:19:22Speaker 7: they do. And it's all negative about the war. And basically,
- 1:19:28Speaker 7: if it goes to Congress, it's going to get shut down.
- 1:19:30Speaker 7: So just hang on a little while longer and don't
- 1:19:32Speaker 7: make a deal with Trump.
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. What do you think they should do?
- 1:19:40Speaker 4: Who?
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: Iran? Yeah.
- 1:19:43Speaker 5: Or us?
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: The whole situation.
- 1:19:47Speaker 7: We need to get it approved to be there as
- 1:19:52Speaker 7: long as it takes. And then Iran is going to say, yeah,
- 1:19:57Speaker 7: we ain't got the fortitude for this because we can't
- 1:19:59Speaker 7: hold out much longer. But they can hold out short term.
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: How do you know that to be true? I would
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: just ask you. I mean, is that an assumption on
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: your part? Assumption?
- 1:20:15Speaker 7: I mean, it's listening to your intelligent callers.
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: Because, you know, I would think they would have buckled sooner.
- 1:20:22Speaker 2: Remember when they dropped the bunker buster, that bomb? And
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: that was supposedly... Well, yeah. That took care of it.
- 1:20:28Speaker 7: Right from the start of this, the media has been
- 1:20:30Speaker 7: crying about this. This can only last 60 days and
- 1:20:33Speaker 7: they need congressional approval.
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: But those are the rules. I mean, that's not– I mean, listen,
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: I don't care if it's Biden or Trump. I mean,
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: you're not– you truly aren't a king or a dictator
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: that you can do this stuff without, at that point, without.
- 1:20:50Speaker 7: I'm worried that he's not going to get the backing
- 1:20:54Speaker 7: to continue on, and then we've got to walk away
- 1:20:57Speaker 7: spending all that money for nothing, and Iran goes right
- 1:21:01Speaker 7: back to business as usual. We can't let him do that.
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: At some point, you're going to leave, though, right? Let
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: me counter your argument a little bit and get your
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: reaction to things. So is it possible that we don't
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: understand Iran's culture? So often previously, I think we could
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: say as a country, we misread the Middle East tremendously.
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: And we have a proven track record that we didn't
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: understand the Middle East tremendously. And the so-called regime changes
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: have all been dismal failures. And they thought maybe this
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: time it would be different and it would be quick.
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: And they would throw the towel in. And they didn't.
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: So if I said to you, I think they're surprised
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: they didn't throw the towel in as quick as they did.
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: And I'm surprised they haven't thrown a towel in at
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: this point in time, me personally speaking. I'm surprised they
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: haven't thrown a towel in yet. So should I conclude
- 1:22:05Speaker 2: they got some degree of resolve to say they haven't
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: done it with all this bombing, they haven't done it
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: with the blockade, they haven't done it with the finances
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: of it, and I don't know that they're sitting around
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: watching Fox News. Maybe it's just a culture we don't understand.
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: Maybe it's a culture that says, United States of America,
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: you're not going to tell us whether or not we
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: can have a nuclear weapon. We're our own country, 93
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: million people. United States, we can inflict a lot of
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: financial harm on you. Well, they've said that publicly. If
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: you want to inflict it on us, you just wait
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: and see. I mean, Iran's basically saying we got some
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: cards to play here, too. And are they playing those?
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: I would like to think that Trump's got him by
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: the manhood. I would like to think he's got a
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: tight hold on him.
- 1:23:05Speaker 7: I think he does, but they are looking at it thinking,
- 1:23:09Speaker 7: if we can just hold on a little bit longer,
- 1:23:12Speaker 7: this is going to be over and he's going to
- 1:23:14Speaker 7: have to quit.
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: Well, that might be true.
- 1:23:16Speaker 7: Because there's no support here in the United States, according
- 1:23:19Speaker 7: to the news.
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: And I don't think there is. I don't think, according
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: to the news, I don't think there is a lot
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: of support for it in the United States. I mean,
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: I genuinely do not think a lot of people are
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: supporting this at all.
- 1:23:32Speaker 7: And as far as leaving, our boats can float around
- 1:23:37Speaker 7: anywhere in the oceans. Why not leave a few of
- 1:23:40Speaker 7: them there to just maintain the straight?
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: How long?
- 1:23:44Speaker 7: It ain't going to cost anything if they're just floating around.
- 1:23:48Speaker 7: It costs the same to burn whatever they burn to
- 1:23:50Speaker 7: float them boats around in the middle of the Atlantic
- 1:23:53Speaker 7: as it would to float around in the Persian Gulf
- 1:23:56Speaker 7: and the Strait of Hormuz just have a presence. It
- 1:24:01Speaker 7: don't cost anything more as long as we ain't shooting missiles.
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: So you say the U.S. has got to..
- 1:24:08Speaker 7: We're going to float somewhere.
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: So you think the biggest enemy are the Democrats and
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: the timeline?
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: All right. How long do you think the American people
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: will tolerate high gas prices?
- 1:24:30Speaker 7: We don't have.
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: A choice. Oh, I think you have a choice. Unfortunately, sometimes.
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: Don't ever forget when they said it's the economy, stupid.
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: That's very true. People, do you think that there could
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: be a choice that you would see in November?
- 1:24:48Speaker 21: Probably. Probably.
- 1:24:49Speaker 7: And if the Democrats get back in charge, we'll be
- 1:24:53Speaker 7: apologizing to Iran and giving them reparations for Trump's illegal war.
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: Nothing would surprise me. Nothing would surprise me. I'm in
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: total agreement with you there. I would never vote, ever,
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: for a Democrat. I'd never vote for Sherrod Bond. I'd
- 1:25:09Speaker 2: never vote for the Democrats at all. But unfortunately, sometimes
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: people do that, and... I don't understand it because I
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: don't think they would make it better. They would just
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: make it a lot worse. I would agree with that.
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: All right. Thank you. Appreciate your comments. I thought he
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: made a good point. You're on the air.
- 1:25:31Speaker 27: Here's my only thing. I don't know what I don't know,
- 1:25:33Speaker 27: but I was told in June that all the nuclear bombs, missiles,
- 1:25:37Speaker 27: everything was gone. And now, February, we've got to go back.
- 1:25:41Speaker 27: So was I lied to then when they were gone
- 1:25:44Speaker 27: and they weren't really gone? Or now they say there's
- 1:25:47Speaker 27: nuclear dust. How long does it take to make a
- 1:25:49Speaker 27: bomb that's going to hit Israel or the U.S. with
- 1:25:52Speaker 27: nuclear dust? Now, Ron Verb, if you were Donald Trump
- 1:25:55Speaker 27: behind the Resolute Desk and you were presented all.
- 1:25:58Speaker 28: Of this, Mr.
- 1:25:59Speaker 27: Trump, we have to go into Iran right now.
- 1:26:02Speaker 28: Well, wait a second.
- 1:26:03Speaker 27: Didn't we take care of everything? Yes, it's all dust.
- 1:26:06Speaker 14: Well, wait a second.
- 1:26:06Speaker 27: Why are we going to Iran if it's dust? How
- 1:26:08Speaker 27: long does it take to make a nuclear missile from dust?
- 1:26:12Speaker 27: So that's my only thing. I just wish we knew more.
- 1:26:15Speaker 27: On top of that, I could really sit here and
- 1:26:18Speaker 27: argue with you why we should be there, and I
- 1:26:20Speaker 27: could argue with you why we shouldn't be there. The
- 1:26:23Speaker 27: one thing I'll push back on, given what you were
- 1:26:25Speaker 27: talking to Rich about, would be their culture. We have
- 1:26:28Speaker 27: a lot of people in this country who have a
- 1:26:30Speaker 27: different culture than what you would call American norms or
- 1:26:33Speaker 27: American standards.
- 1:26:35Speaker 14: What are we supposed to do?
- 1:26:36Speaker 27: Just let them have these weapons and cause havoc on
- 1:26:40Speaker 27: the community? and just not do anything about it because
- 1:26:43Speaker 27: we didn't take care of it in 60 days, and
- 1:26:46Speaker 27: let them just keep threatening us, that goes on forever.
- 1:26:49Speaker 27: I'm not saying we should be in Iran forever, but
- 1:26:52Speaker 27: what happens if Congress says we can't be there and
- 1:26:54Speaker 27: we leave tomorrow? Does everything just go back to business
- 1:26:56Speaker 27: as usual? Does China just keep going back and getting
- 1:26:59Speaker 27: oil from Iran? Does the rest of the Middle East?
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: Well, let me ask you that question. Based on our
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: track record, what do you see?
- 1:27:09Speaker 27: Well, based on our track record, the last two months
- 1:27:11Speaker 27: or the last 30 years?
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: No, our track record, yeah. I mean, I don't know
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: if you want to go back 30 years, but in
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: the Middle East, I suspect you could go back to
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: Vietnam as well because we simply left there, too.
- 1:27:25Speaker 27: Here's my thing on this, too. We went in there
- 1:27:28Speaker 27: on day one and bombed everything, and Israel went in.
- 1:27:32Speaker 27: Why isn't Israel... Where's their navy? Why aren't they going
- 1:27:35Speaker 27: through first clear and everything? Because just like you said, too,
- 1:27:38Speaker 27: I never lost a minute of sleep at night wondering
- 1:27:41Speaker 27: if Iran was going to hit us with a nuclear warhead.
- 1:27:43Speaker 27: But at the same time, Trump is a whole different breed.
- 1:27:46Speaker 27: He never wants to look bad. If he doesn't look bad,
- 1:27:49Speaker 27: then America does good.
- 1:27:51Speaker 14: And at the end of the day..
- 1:27:52Speaker 27: I'm sure in the back of his mind he thought,
- 1:27:54Speaker 27: you know, if I go to Iran now, there's still
- 1:27:55Speaker 27: a chance, even if he thinks everything he does is 100% right,
- 1:28:00Speaker 27: unavoidable chance of failure. In the back of his mind,
- 1:28:03Speaker 27: and even everybody in the military had to say, this
- 1:28:05Speaker 27: is what could happen. They present, even if the president
- 1:28:08Speaker 27: makes a decision, they present these things to him. He
- 1:28:11Speaker 27: has to know that gas prices go up.
- 1:28:13Speaker 12: He said it himself.
- 1:28:14Speaker 27: He said he's surprised gas.
- 1:28:15Speaker 28: Is at war.
- 1:28:15Speaker 27: The stock market's not down more. The thing I don't
- 1:28:19Speaker 27: like is, I just want to know why we're there,
- 1:28:22Speaker 27: for what reason concrete? Because I just don't like hearing that.
- 1:28:25Speaker 27: That's the thing that frustrates me the most is this
- 1:28:27Speaker 27: nuclear dust thing. What are we going in to clear
- 1:28:29Speaker 27: up the nuclear dust? Are we going to airlift excavators
- 1:28:33Speaker 27: and dig it all up and put a caution tape
- 1:28:35Speaker 27: around it until we get it all out? To what point?
- 1:28:39Speaker 27: And I'm just saying two things. the same time, now
- 1:28:40Speaker 27: we're there, what are we supposed to do, just stop now?
- 1:28:44Speaker 27: Where's the rest of the Middle East? What are they doing?
- 1:28:47Speaker 27: You know, the UAE, that's their whole entire economy. Saudi Arabia,
- 1:28:51Speaker 27: that's their economy. They're still pumping out some oil, but
- 1:28:53Speaker 27: not as much.
- 1:28:54Speaker 5: That's why they left OPEC.
- 1:28:56Speaker 27: I don't understand what the endgame is, and I'm not
- 1:28:58Speaker 27: going to pretend to know it because I don't know
- 1:29:00Speaker 27: what I don't know. This can change next week, for
- 1:29:04Speaker 27: all we know. I have no clue. But when the
- 1:29:07Speaker 27: war games were going on with how we would invade
- 1:29:10Speaker 27: Iran or get their nuclear weapons, I'm sure at some point, again,
- 1:29:13Speaker 27: it was the closure of the.
- 1:29:14Speaker 5: Strait of Hormuz.
- 1:29:15Speaker 27: I think the drone factor has completely changed all of war.
- 1:29:20Speaker 27: You can look at what Russia and Ukraine... Drones are
- 1:29:24Speaker 27: just the new standard of war now. And when you
- 1:29:27Speaker 27: can send a drone that's $ 30, 000 from Iran that's hidden
- 1:29:31Speaker 27: off at the Strait of Hormuz and you hit a U.S.
- 1:29:34Speaker 27: Navy ship and a bunch of armed service members die, yeah,
- 1:29:39Speaker 27: that's not going to be good. I don't know what
- 1:29:42Speaker 27: the end game is, but if it ends tomorrow, are
- 1:29:44Speaker 27: we just going to go right back to where we were?
- 1:29:47Speaker 27: I don't understand why we didn't just bomb them in June.
- 1:29:49Speaker 27: We said it was gone.
- 1:29:50Speaker 5: It's dust.
- 1:29:51Speaker 27: If you ever start rebuilding it again, we'll do the
- 1:29:54Speaker 27: same thing again.
- 1:29:54Speaker 3: I mean, look what we did.
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: So you're talking with the bunker buster. You thought it was,
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: we dropped it. That was supposedly, that accomplished everything we needed.
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: Everything's destroyed. And you're saying, so what happened?
- 1:30:07Speaker 27: Why didn't you close down the Strait of Hormuz after
- 1:30:10Speaker 27: the bunker buster?
- 1:30:11Speaker 6: No.
- 1:30:12Speaker 13: Why didn't they do it then?
- 1:30:14Speaker 27: And are they going to keep, you know, quote-unquote charging
- 1:30:16Speaker 27: and just the threat of anything?
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: Well, some of the critics say, look, he's now created
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: a monster because they didn't, they hadn't done that. But
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: now they're saying, well, wait a minute. Now they realize
- 1:30:29Speaker 2: what another avenue that they have available to them.
- 1:30:32Speaker 27: I keep hearing these 12 days, 22 days until their oil,
- 1:30:36Speaker 27: they have no more storage, they can't pump, and then
- 1:30:38Speaker 27: the water infiltrates their oil reserves and they can't do
- 1:30:41Speaker 27: anything for years.
- 1:30:42Speaker 13: If that's legitimate..
- 1:30:44Speaker 27: Then Iran really does have to make a decision. Do
- 1:30:46Speaker 27: they want to never be able to pump oil? And look,
- 1:30:49Speaker 27: I mean, I guess China and Russia might be sending
- 1:30:52Speaker 27: them some supplies.
- 1:30:54Speaker 14: I don't know.
- 1:30:54Speaker 27: But have we heard anything out of their allies, Russia
- 1:30:57Speaker 27: and China? Russia's, you know, without saying, in Ukraine, and
- 1:31:02Speaker 27: China really just wants to sell cheap.
- 1:31:05Speaker 5: Stuff all over the world.
- 1:31:06Speaker 27: I don't think they want to get involved in anything
- 1:31:07Speaker 27: because they have 50-year, 100-year plans. But Iran has no friends.
- 1:31:12Speaker 27: That's what I don't understand, even with the rest of
- 1:31:14Speaker 27: the Middle East.
- 1:31:15Speaker 28: Where are they?
- 1:31:15Speaker 27: And I'm telling you, I keep going back to Israel.
- 1:31:18Speaker 27: We went in with them on day one, and I
- 1:31:20Speaker 27: haven't heard anything since then. I'm sure stuff is going on. Again,
- 1:31:23Speaker 27: I don't know what I don't know. But they were
- 1:31:26Speaker 27: going to get a nuclear bomb to hit it at
- 1:31:29Speaker 27: Israel first. I think Israel should be going in and
- 1:31:31Speaker 27: taking care of this with their navy.
- 1:31:34Speaker 13: Open that up.
- 1:31:35Speaker 27: A lot of it just makes no sense to me.
- 1:31:38Speaker 27: I just wish I had a clear, concise reason.
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: What are your thoughts about how long you think Americans
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: will tolerate.
- 1:31:48Speaker 29: This?
- 1:31:49Speaker 27: If you keep looking back at interest rates, and I've
- 1:31:52Speaker 27: said this a few times, that 10-year Treasury rate right
- 1:31:55Speaker 27: now is at 4.45%. Anytime it gets just below 4.5%,
- 1:32:00Speaker 27: something happens. When Liberation Day happened in April of last year,
- 1:32:04Speaker 27: the market tanked and interest rates went through the roof.
- 1:32:07Speaker 27: Right when it hit 4.5%, that's when they backed off
- 1:32:10Speaker 27: the tariffs. We did this ceasefire. It was right when
- 1:32:14Speaker 27: interest rates were right at 4.5%. Something probably is going
- 1:32:18Speaker 27: to come off the table, push the goalposts further down.
- 1:32:21Speaker 27: I don't know, but Trump is losing. He's going to
- 1:32:23Speaker 27: start losing credibility when you hit the nail on the head. Oh,
- 1:32:26Speaker 27: we have a deal. We don't have a deal.
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: We have a deal.
- 1:32:28Speaker 27: We don't have a deal. At this point, this far in,
- 1:32:32Speaker 27: you tell these people at this point, I don't know,
- 1:32:33Speaker 27: whoever's in charge, either you make a deal and you
- 1:32:36Speaker 27: have until this time, and then we're just going to
- 1:32:38Speaker 27: do to you what we did to everybody else. I
- 1:32:40Speaker 27: don't know if there's just another hundred people in line
- 1:32:43Speaker 27: to take up the next position, or maybe they really
- 1:32:45Speaker 27: have no clue. It would be nice if Trump came
- 1:32:49Speaker 27: and did an address to the nation at 9 o'clock
- 1:32:52Speaker 27: at night and just laid out a clear, concise, three-minute speech,
- 1:32:55Speaker 27: turned around and walked away. That's really what I would like,
- 1:32:58Speaker 27: because I just have no clue what's going on. And
- 1:33:01Speaker 27: like I said, I could speculate in one direction why
- 1:33:03Speaker 27: we should be there and why we should keep doing
- 1:33:05Speaker 27: this and why we never should have gone at the
- 1:33:07Speaker 27: same time.
- 1:33:16Speaker 14: It's a cluster. It's a quagmire.
- 1:33:18Speaker 27: I don't know what you want to call it.
- 1:33:20Speaker 10: We could be having.
- 1:33:21Speaker 27: This conversation next week and say, oh, my gosh, it
- 1:33:24Speaker 27: actually worked.
- 1:33:24Speaker 9: They did this.
- 1:33:25Speaker 13: They did that.
- 1:33:26Speaker 27: We're doing this. All of this has opened back up.
- 1:33:28Speaker 27: But it's not like gas prices are going to come
- 1:33:30Speaker 27: straight down because you've got futures markets. Oil is priced 30-day, 60-day,
- 1:33:33Speaker 27: 90-day down the road. I'm not really sure why gas
- 1:33:38Speaker 27: was at $ 4.
- 1:33:38Speaker 14: 85, $ 0.
- 1:33:38Speaker 27: 99, whatever you want to call it, when oil was
- 1:33:42Speaker 27: $ 100 a barrel. I was seeing reports that that never
- 1:33:45Speaker 27: should have been that high, even at $ 100 a barrel.
- 1:33:48Speaker 27: I have no clue, because I just don't know what
- 1:33:49Speaker 27: I don't know.
- 1:33:52Speaker 2: Yeah, there you go. All right, thank you. Believe it
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: or not, I think that was well said. I think
- 1:34:01Speaker 2: I'm sitting there taking in everything you had to say.
- 1:34:04Speaker 2: I don't know what I don't know. But you do
- 1:34:09Speaker 2: lose credibility when all last week, well, Iran wants to
- 1:34:11Speaker 2: make a deal. They're in talks. They want to make
- 1:34:14Speaker 2: a deal. Well, if they want to make a deal,
- 1:34:15Speaker 2: why isn't there a deal? If they want to make
- 1:34:18Speaker 2: a deal, why are we talking about doing more bombing?
- 1:34:23Speaker 2: I thought we had them right where we needed them.
- 1:34:25Speaker 2: It's like there's so many mixed signals here. And then
- 1:34:29Speaker 2: you see a huge down markets today. And then you
- 1:34:32Speaker 2: see oil prices, the price of oil going up. And
- 1:34:37Speaker 2: that's not good for my fatigued wallet. How about yours?
- 1:34:41Speaker 2: Back in a minute. News Radio 570 WKBN.
- 1:34:43Speaker 8: Radio 570 WKBN.
- 1:34:47Speaker 2: You know, I never want to steer you in the
- 1:34:48Speaker 2: wrong direction. You understand that. I always try to point
- 1:34:51Speaker 2: you in the right direction. Whether it's somebody who needs
- 1:34:56Speaker 2: hearing aids or their hearing looked at, you won't find
- 1:34:59Speaker 2: any better than Dr. Cheryl Figlano, Centers for Hearing Care.
- 1:35:03Speaker 2: Whether that's heating and cooling and the honesty of Bob Dieter.
- 1:35:07Speaker 2: or whether that's buying a new car, truck, or SUV,
- 1:35:11Speaker 2: and Mike Kudak and Stadium GM. This I can tell you,
- 1:35:14Speaker 2: as I've said, as a customer, you go one stop,
- 1:35:17Speaker 2: everything that General Motors makes, if you're a GM family,
- 1:35:21Speaker 2: and you like the product, and you want, whether it's Cadillac, Buick, GMC,
- 1:35:25Speaker 2: or Chevy, you find it all under one roof. And
- 1:35:28Speaker 2: you're not part of these dealership chains that are these
- 1:35:34Speaker 2: mega dealerships, got to have a gazillion locations. and the
- 1:35:37Speaker 2: overhead that comes with it, and the lack of personal
- 1:35:40Speaker 2: care that comes with it. No, Stadium GM, locally owned
- 1:35:44Speaker 2: and operated by Shorty Navarro, proudly run by Mike Hudock.
- 1:35:49Speaker 2: And so the philosophy remains the same. They want to
- 1:35:51Speaker 2: keep your business. They want to keep your family's business,
- 1:35:54Speaker 2: generation after generation. That's what built Stadium GM and continues
- 1:35:57Speaker 2: to build it, I can tell you, as a customer,
- 1:36:00Speaker 2: in 2017 and in 2026. Great selection, great service departments. Overall,
- 1:36:11Speaker 2: a pleasant experience. And isn't that what you're looking for
- 1:36:14Speaker 2: when it comes to buying a car, truck, SUV? StadiumGM.com
- 1:36:17Speaker 2: is the website if you want to take a look
- 1:36:19Speaker 2: at that. Used cars, trucks, SUVs, Carfax reports, competitive pricing,
- 1:36:25Speaker 2: or the new car inventory as well. Buying or leasing.
- 1:36:28Speaker 2: New or used. StadiumGM will make your life better. NewsRadio
- 1:36:33Speaker 2: 570 WKBN. You're on the air.
- 1:36:38Speaker 5: Are you a believer in the Cleveland Cavaliers?
- 1:36:41Speaker 2: Yes, I am.
- 1:36:42Speaker 3: Yes, I am.
- 1:36:43Speaker 2: You've been talking about the Cavaliers. I've been ignoring you.
- 1:36:47Speaker 2: I've been saying I'm focused on the Guardians. I almost
- 1:36:54Speaker 2: feel as though I should publicly apologize to Dick from
- 1:36:57Speaker 2: Dayton because you've been Cavs all the way.
- 1:36:59Speaker 8: And look..
- 1:37:03Speaker 2: How happy were you yesterday?
- 1:37:04Speaker 12: Oh, I've never seen that place that crazy.
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: I mean, the people were just, I put it, you know,
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: about the second half, I.
- 1:37:13Speaker 28: Was watching the news and stuff.
- 1:37:14Speaker 5: But I watched it.
- 1:37:15Speaker 28: They just looked remarkable, didn't they?
- 1:37:18Speaker 5: They just kept going on.
- 1:37:20Speaker 13: You know?
- 1:37:20Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:37:23Speaker 28: Now, the big trip.
- 1:37:26Speaker 12: I say they do good.
- 1:37:29Speaker 5: They'll do good on this trip.
- 1:37:31Speaker 7: I'm convinced.
- 1:37:32Speaker 5: You know?
- 1:37:33Speaker 2: You're convinced?
- 1:37:35Speaker 10: Yes.
- 1:37:36Speaker 23: Yes.
- 1:37:37Speaker 5: Bring it home, buddy.
- 1:37:38Speaker 2: You know what I thought of yesterday when the Cavs won?
- 1:37:42Speaker 5: What?
- 1:37:43Speaker 2: Dick from Dayton.
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: Oh, good.
- 1:37:45Speaker 2: Nice. Boy, Dick from Dayton's got to be happy. Although,
- 1:37:48Speaker 2: you know, basketball playoffs go on forever, don't they? Good God.
- 1:37:52Speaker 13: Yes, they go forever.
- 1:37:53Speaker 2: I mean, that's the problem. It's like... I mean, it's like, jeez, Luis. Yeah,
- 1:38:00Speaker 2: they go on forever. But the Cavs, yes. The Cavs victorious.
- 1:38:04Speaker 2: Now on to the next one. Now on to the
- 1:38:06Speaker 2: next one. And Dick from Dayton, you have been correct
- 1:38:10Speaker 2: on your focus on that. I'm just into baseball and
- 1:38:13Speaker 2: the Guardians. You understand.
- 1:38:15Speaker 7: Yeah, they're doing pretty good, aren't they?
- 1:38:17Speaker 5: Yes, they are. They lost last night, though, didn't they?
- 1:38:19Speaker 11: Yes.
- 1:38:19Speaker 2: All right, Tiger.
- 1:38:21Speaker 5: Okay, bye-bye.
- 1:38:22Speaker 2: Appreciate it. You're on the air.
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: What a pleasure following Dick from Dayton, two-time Caller of
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: the Year on your overnight sports program on 1390.
- 1:38:31Speaker 12: And I.
- 1:38:34Speaker 7: Did see that thing of.
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: Dick from Dayton at that celebration they had in Cincinnati.
- 1:38:40Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:38:42Speaker 13: Yes, yes.
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: You know, Ron, getting on the serious part of the show,
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: do you remember you were too young? But for your
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: more astute listeners out there, remember when Robert McNamara left
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: being Secretary of Defense and went to take over the
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: World Bank, and it was a guy named.
- 1:39:05Speaker 7: Clark Clifford that took his job.
- 1:39:07Speaker 28: Right in the.
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: Late 60s, this happened. And after that, all the generals,
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: the chiefs of staff, the joint chiefs and everything, had Mr.
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: Clifford come in with his staff, and they.
- 1:39:20Speaker 3: Were showing him all these elaborate.
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: Bombing plans of North Vietnam, and we're going to do this,
- 1:39:25Speaker 1: and we're going to bomb the dams, and this and that.
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: And he said, gentlemen, gentlemen, please, I want to see
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: the plans. And he goes, the plans? Sir, we're showing
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: you the bombing plans, the latest bombing plans. He goes, no,
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: I want to see the plans of winning the war.
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: And the general stepped back, the admiral stepped back and said, sir,
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: we have no plan on winning the war.
- 1:39:49Speaker 3: I think, as much as I believe in Trump, I
- 1:39:53Speaker 3: think he's going.
- 1:39:53Speaker 5: To be doing..
- 1:39:54Speaker 2: Hold that thought.
- 1:39:55Speaker 8: News Radio 570, WKVN. All right.
- 1:40:02Speaker 2: Where was I? Hang on a minute. Okay, you were
- 1:40:06Speaker 2: talking about Vietnam.
- 1:40:09Speaker 28: And Mr.
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: Clifford asked all the Joint Chiefs of Staff and everything,
- 1:40:14Speaker 1: he said, where's the plan to win the war?
- 1:40:17Speaker 12: I think Mr.
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: Trump right now doesn't have a plan to win this.
- 1:40:22Speaker 1: If he does, he's keeping it close to his vest.
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: But I do think, you know, we can't go on
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: with this hit and miss theory. Either we've got to
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: go in and.
- 1:40:32Speaker 28: Get this stuff done.
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: Remember when the Gulf War started, Colin Powell got up
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: in front of everybody and said, we're going to cut
- 1:40:41Speaker 1: off the head of the snake.
- 1:40:42Speaker 13: And we're going to kill the regime.
- 1:40:44Speaker 7: And that's what they did.
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: They bombed the heck out of the Iraqi forces. Then
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: they went in and they were surrendering to drones or
- 1:40:54Speaker 1: surrendering to the CNN reporters because they were getting bombastic
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: with all of our might that we were putting.
- 1:41:02Speaker 28: Down on the Iraqis.
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: How long did their war last? Five, six months and
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: it was over?
- 1:41:07Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:41:10Speaker 29: Okay.
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: Okay. I think right now, Mr. Trump got to have
- 1:41:14Speaker 1: a plan to go in and get all this stuff.
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: Like your one caller said, get this stuff up, get
- 1:41:20Speaker 1: somebody in there. Like you said, you're not going to
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: be dropping bulldozers by air and stuff like that there.
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: They got to go out and make sure the stuff
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: that they had before is destroyed.
- 1:41:33Speaker 2: Your comments, Ron.
- 1:41:34Speaker 30: Yeah.
- 1:41:37Speaker 2: Like I said, I think that they miscalculated. I think
- 1:41:41Speaker 2: they had a plan and thought this would be over
- 1:41:43Speaker 2: very quickly. And I think they miscalculated totally and completely.
- 1:41:49Speaker 2: And I think they continue to try to reboot or
- 1:41:55Speaker 2: reconfigure to a certain extent. and trying to figure out
- 1:42:00Speaker 2: where to go next. I mean, do I think the
- 1:42:03Speaker 2: military's done an excellent job? Do I think that they
- 1:42:05Speaker 2: got them by the gonads? I absolutely do. Do I
- 1:42:09Speaker 2: think it can be a waiting game to bring them
- 1:42:11Speaker 2: to their knees? Potentially. I mean, possibly. But do I
- 1:42:16Speaker 2: understand their culture or their reserve? No, I do not.
- 1:42:21Speaker 2: Because they might be very much saying that day. I
- 1:42:25Speaker 2: don't know what their thoughts are. They might be saying,
- 1:42:28Speaker 2: we hate you. You're not going to tell us that
- 1:42:31Speaker 2: we can't. You're not going to tell us Israel can
- 1:42:33Speaker 2: have a nuclear weapon, but we can't. You're sooner or later,
- 1:42:38Speaker 2: you're going to have to leave. This is our home.
- 1:42:42Speaker 2: As we saw in Afghanistan, as you saw in Vietnam,
- 1:42:46Speaker 2: this is where we live and we're here to stay.
- 1:42:49Speaker 2: And you got to go at some point. So we'll
- 1:42:51Speaker 2: wait you out whenever that is.
- 1:42:52Speaker 1: You know, they might be looking to the philosophy of
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: Ho Chi Minh.
- 1:42:57Speaker 5: Yep.
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: Back in the day, after the Tet Offensive, we killed
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: over 100,000 of them, Ronnie. 100,000 during the Tet Offensive.
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: And they waited two, three years. They built up their forces.
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: And they came right back down the Ho Chi Minh
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: Trail that we bombed. day in, day out, night and day,
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: forever and ever. And they still got the stuff down
- 1:43:17Speaker 1: that trail and everything like that. And the other thing, too,
- 1:43:21Speaker 1: is that they were ready to commit another 100,000 men
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: to get their just reserve and retaking, you know, reuniting
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: the North and the South Vietnam. And who can forget,
- 1:43:34Speaker 1: you were just a little child at the time, that
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: tank going... through the presidential palace down there in Saigon
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: and knocking that gate down and running up there and
- 1:43:44Speaker 1: running down the flag of the South Lebanese and putting
- 1:43:47Speaker 1: up that flag of the North Lebanese. And their waiting
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: game waited out, what, the longest war in our history,
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: 10 years at that time? Yeah.
- 1:43:58Speaker 2: I mean, yes, 100%. I mean, on a serious question,
- 1:44:04Speaker 2: and I'm on a serious question, do you ever sit
- 1:44:06Speaker 2: back and say, When you look at it, what did
- 1:44:09Speaker 2: all those people die for? Because ultimately we ended up leaving.
- 1:44:12Speaker 2: I mean, because these were many people that you personally knew.
- 1:44:17Speaker 2: What did they die for? And likewise in Afghanistan, when
- 1:44:21Speaker 2: you see the horrific commercials on television, well, those young
- 1:44:25Speaker 2: men that died or are injured that you see permanently injured,
- 1:44:30Speaker 2: what for? We left and gave it back to them.
- 1:44:35Speaker 2: And you see that in all of the Middle East.
- 1:44:37Speaker 2: We don't stay. We can't stay. It's their homeland.
- 1:44:39Speaker 5: We leave.
- 1:44:40Speaker 1: And no matter what we seem to put in there,
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: it doesn't seem to work.
- 1:44:45Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. So what are your thoughts? I mean, when
- 1:44:50Speaker 2: you see the $ 5 gasoline and the inflation that comes
- 1:44:53Speaker 2: from it, do you think people have a resolve to say,
- 1:44:58Speaker 2: let's stay with it another month, even if it goes
- 1:45:00Speaker 2: to six bucks or whatever?
- 1:45:03Speaker 1: I think if it goes to six bucks, Ronnie, there's
- 1:45:06Speaker 1: going to be such a cry from the people that
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: the president got to release the oil reserves. And our governor,
- 1:45:13Speaker 1: you know, I'm glad he's on his last term. When
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: the state legislature comes in and says, Hey, let's reduce
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: the sales tax on the gasoline.
- 1:45:23Speaker 3: The state tax. Wait a minute.
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: This is my 15%. 15 cents.
- 1:45:28Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 1:45:30Speaker 5: You know what?
- 1:45:30Speaker 2: I'll tell you this. Really, that money goes for your
- 1:45:33Speaker 2: roads and that kind of stuff. I don't think the
- 1:45:39Speaker 2: answer is relieving that tax at all. This problem is real.
- 1:45:43Speaker 2: so far beyond that right at this point in time.
- 1:45:46Speaker 2: I don't even know that... I get tired of the
- 1:45:49Speaker 2: strategic oil reserves, Vince, being used for political purposes. The
- 1:45:52Speaker 2: strategic oil reserves are there for military purposes.
- 1:45:56Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:45:57Speaker 2: And they should stay there for that. They shouldn't be
- 1:46:02Speaker 2: used as a backup to try to influence oil prices
- 1:46:04Speaker 2: either up or down. I'm kind of opposed to that.
- 1:46:07Speaker 2: I want the strategic oil reserves filled, capped off, left alone.
- 1:46:12Speaker 2: And I don't leave the state tax alone. Let these
- 1:46:15Speaker 2: guys that created this problem in the Trump administration figure
- 1:46:20Speaker 2: out how to fix it and what to do about it.
- 1:46:23Speaker 1: I think they ought to do like they promised during
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: this campaign. Put four more refineries, two on each coast,
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: or five more refineries, two on each coast, and one on.
- 1:46:35Speaker 28: The Gulf of America again.
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: Do that commitment, and we can do.
- 1:46:39Speaker 28: On our own oil.
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: We have enough now that we're selling it to other people.
- 1:46:44Speaker 1: I mean, you know, growing up, the price of gasoline
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: was 20 cents a gallon when I started to drive.
- 1:46:50Speaker 28: 20 cents a gallon.
- 1:46:52Speaker 1: And those people were making millions of dollars after that. Today,
- 1:46:56Speaker 1: at $ 5 a gallon, they're not making millions?
- 1:46:58Speaker 2: Well, they're going to have record profits.
- 1:47:01Speaker 3: They're going to have records.
- 1:47:03Speaker 1: We need someone like you, Ron, in Congress. I mean,
- 1:47:06Speaker 1: I know Rulers is doing a good job, but, you know,
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: come on.
- 1:47:11Speaker 2: Appreciate that, Vince. You know I do. Thank you, man.
- 1:47:14Speaker 2: Appreciate it. Truly my favorite Marine. News Radio 570 to WKBN. 541,
- 1:47:19Speaker 2: you're on the air.
- 1:47:22Speaker 3: Hey, Ron.
- 1:47:23Speaker 7: Yes.
- 1:47:24Speaker 2: I'm looking forward to your insight, please.
- 1:47:29Speaker 13: 183.
- 1:47:30Speaker 6: You know what that is?
- 1:47:30Speaker 11: 183?
- 1:47:30Speaker 14: How many days until the midterms?
- 1:47:36Speaker 29: That's the war we're in. You've got to win the midterms.
- 1:47:42Speaker 29: The patriot movement, liberty and freedom, has to win the midterms.
- 1:47:50Speaker 5: And that's all that matters.
- 1:47:51Speaker 29: We're in the wrong war right now. I do not
- 1:47:54Speaker 29: care what Big Farmer Rich or 007 Ted say. Okay,
- 1:48:00Speaker 29: your discussion with Rich was great, and I wanted to
- 1:48:05Speaker 29: vomit every time he tried to come up with some
- 1:48:09Speaker 29: reason why we should be there. He completely does not
- 1:48:14Speaker 29: understand history, recent history.
- 1:48:18Speaker 5: Look what happened.
- 1:48:20Speaker 29: When Joe Biden was inaugurated. That's all the farther.
- 1:48:25Speaker 5: Back you need to go.
- 1:48:28Speaker 29: Everything, all the gains that the American people made during
- 1:48:36Speaker 29: Trump's first term were literally erased overnight.
- 1:48:40Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:48:41Speaker 10: And I just, you know, I don't.
- 1:48:44Speaker 29: Know what it's going to take to get out of this.
- 1:48:49Speaker 3: If you don't want to call it a war, whoever.
- 1:48:51Speaker 5: A skirmish, I don't care.
- 1:48:53Speaker 3: It's the wrong objective.
- 1:48:58Speaker 29: I mean, how many more opportunities are we going to
- 1:49:01Speaker 29: have to save this country?
- 1:49:06Speaker 2: I think this is it.
- 1:49:09Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 1:49:11Speaker 2: Let me ask you this, though. Let me pick your
- 1:49:13Speaker 2: brain for a second. Here's what's troubling to me. Whether
- 1:49:20Speaker 2: or not why we got into this is worth debating.
- 1:49:25Speaker 2: We're in it. What's the game plan? What's the exit strategy?
- 1:49:30Speaker 2: What are we going to do about the straight? What
- 1:49:33Speaker 2: are we going to do about oil prices? All of
- 1:49:36Speaker 2: this kind of stuff. I get all of that. But
- 1:49:42Speaker 2: I'm in total agreement with what you said, folks. When
- 1:49:46Speaker 2: I hear Mike talk, the most important thing is, this
- 1:49:50Speaker 2: is what's ahead. You're going to..
- 1:49:53Speaker 29: There are no guarantees, you know, electing Republicans either.
- 1:49:57Speaker 10: You're moving slower right now.
- 1:50:00Speaker 2: I mean, I could never vote for any of the Democrats.
- 1:50:03Speaker 2: I don't believe... It troubles me that... They say, well,
- 1:50:07Speaker 2: the Democrats could win the midterms. I don't want to
- 1:50:10Speaker 2: go back to the Democrats of tampons in the male
- 1:50:13Speaker 2: restroom and you can wish yourself a woman and say
- 1:50:16Speaker 2: men can get pregnant and you can't define what a
- 1:50:19Speaker 2: woman is and we're going to hire you based on
- 1:50:21Speaker 2: anything but merit. Are you black? Are you gay? Are
- 1:50:24Speaker 2: you transgender? I don't want to go back to that silliness.
- 1:50:27Speaker 2: I don't want to go back to another government program
- 1:50:32Speaker 2: to help everybody out. I don't want to go back
- 1:50:34Speaker 2: to the Democrat philosophy, the far-left philosophy. So I could
- 1:50:40Speaker 2: never vote for that. They created this inflation, and they
- 1:50:47Speaker 2: are to blame for it. I could never vote for
- 1:50:49Speaker 2: it in support of it. So the idea that, let's say,
- 1:50:53Speaker 2: the midterms come and I would vote for Sherrod Brown
- 1:50:57Speaker 2: or whatever is ridiculous. I would never vote for any
- 1:51:02Speaker 2: of the Democrats that are running. I've seen what they've done.
- 1:51:06Speaker 28: They are the true destroyers of country.
- 1:51:10Speaker 7: Right.
- 1:51:11Speaker 2: But explain to me, because unfortunately I hate to say it,
- 1:51:16Speaker 2: most of you listening are informed voters. That's why you
- 1:51:19Speaker 2: listen to talk radio. That's why you read. That's why
- 1:51:21Speaker 2: you know what's going on. Most people who vote are
- 1:51:24Speaker 2: low-information voters. It's a popularity contest with them. It's just
- 1:51:29Speaker 2: like people that will be voting tomorrow. Most people have
- 1:51:32Speaker 2: no idea what's the difference between this candidate and that candidate.
- 1:51:36Speaker 2: They just kind of vote on name recognition or location
- 1:51:39Speaker 2: or whatever. It's not necessarily an informed vote. So when
- 1:51:44Speaker 2: you look at the midterms, it'll be, hey, gas sucks.
- 1:51:49Speaker 2: My world isn't good. I'm going to vote for the Democrats.
- 1:51:53Speaker 2: That's what troubles me, because then you're right back to
- 1:51:56Speaker 2: that lunacy. Do you agree with that?
- 1:51:59Speaker 29: I agree with that 100 percent, Ron. And, you know,
- 1:52:02Speaker 29: we've got plenty of lunacy here. in the Republican Party, too.
- 1:52:06Speaker 10: And right.
- 1:52:09Speaker 2: But once you put the Democrats in charge, for the
- 1:52:14Speaker 2: next two years, everything will just come to a screeching
- 1:52:18Speaker 2: standstill of fixing this country and getting it on the
- 1:52:22Speaker 2: right path. It will be stagnant, and he will have
- 1:52:29Speaker 2: screwed everything up.
- 1:52:30Speaker 29: I don't agree with stagnant, Ron. With the Democrats in charge,
- 1:52:33Speaker 29: we're going to go in reverse.
- 1:52:35Speaker 2: You're correct. I'm sorry. You are 100% correct.
- 1:52:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:52:40Speaker 29: And stagnant might be the Republicans, the current Republicans. We
- 1:52:44Speaker 29: need more Thomas Massys and Marjorie Taylor Greene in Congress.
- 1:52:50Speaker 29: And I'm not going to say that that's the answer,
- 1:52:53Speaker 29: the 100% answer. But right now, under Donald Trump, we
- 1:52:58Speaker 29: are losing slower.
- 1:53:00Speaker 5: But we are losing.
- 1:53:03Speaker 2: As far as losing the America First agenda.
- 1:53:06Speaker 29: We're losing the country.
- 1:53:08Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:53:09Speaker 29: We're losing the country. If we don't get the America
- 1:53:11Speaker 29: First agenda back on track, we're done.
- 1:53:15Speaker 2: And the America First agenda is getting all these people
- 1:53:17Speaker 2: in your country that are here illegally out and affordability. Correct?
- 1:53:23Speaker 29: Elections. Elections right now are probably one of the most
- 1:53:27Speaker 29: critical things that we need to get taken care of.
- 1:53:32Speaker 2: Integrity in the system.
- 1:53:33Speaker 5: Yep, yep, correct. All right, Ron.
- 1:53:37Speaker 13: Hey, I got to scoot.
- 1:53:38Speaker 2: Thank you. Appreciate your time and your insight. NewsRadio 570.
- 1:53:44Speaker 2: And Ron Furp, 547. Good to be with you here tonight.
- 1:53:49Speaker 2: Till 6, Rockport's Wealth Truth Investing Program with Joe Kovach
- 1:53:55Speaker 2: and Adam Stahlnaker coming your way after the break at
- 1:53:58Speaker 2: 6 on NewsRadio 570.
- 1:53:59Speaker 5: WKBN.
- 1:54:01Speaker 2: You're on the air.
- 1:54:04Speaker 5: We're on.
- 1:54:05Speaker 2: Yes, go ahead, please.
- 1:54:07Speaker 28: You know who this is?
- 1:54:09Speaker 2: It's the unintelligent caller.
- 1:54:12Speaker 28: Well, the unintelligent caller is going to try to come
- 1:54:14Speaker 28: up with something intelligent.
- 1:54:16Speaker 2: Okay, I can hardly wait.
- 1:54:20Speaker 28: You're looking at this war wrong. The war is actually
- 1:54:24Speaker 28: in three phases, and everybody that calls in and everybody
- 1:54:27Speaker 28: that talks about it All they talk about is phase one,
- 1:54:31Speaker 28: the war and the bombing and this and that. It's
- 1:54:35Speaker 28: in three phases.
- 1:54:36Speaker 27: And to get to phase three, the best phase.
- 1:54:39Speaker 28: You got to go through phase two. And to get
- 1:54:42Speaker 28: to phase two, you got to have phase one. Now,
- 1:54:47Speaker 28: phase one is we need a reason to have phase
- 1:54:52Speaker 28: two and phase three. The reason is what's going to
- 1:54:56Speaker 28: scare everybody in the world. is nuclear weapons. So what
- 1:55:01Speaker 28: does Donald Trump do? Everything is about nuclear weapons. Iran's
- 1:55:06Speaker 28: not going to get a nuclear weapon. Why is he
- 1:55:08Speaker 28: telling you that? Because the people with an eighth-grade mentality,
- 1:55:13Speaker 28: that's what they're going to believe. But Donald Trump, you
- 1:55:16Speaker 28: know how they say you're playing checkers. Well, checkers is
- 1:55:20Speaker 28: phase one. Phase three is the chess game, okay? So
- 1:55:25Speaker 28: phase one, that's.
- 1:55:27Speaker 5: The war, okay?
- 1:55:29Speaker 28: He won the war. He wiped out the Navy. He
- 1:55:33Speaker 28: wiped out the Army. He wiped out everything in sight.
- 1:55:36Speaker 28: And then all of a sudden, he stops at the
- 1:55:39Speaker 28: Straits of Hormuz and decides to have peace talks. Why
- 1:55:44Speaker 28: did he do that? Because that's phase two. He needed
- 1:55:49Speaker 28: the war. He needed you to believe there's nuclear weapons
- 1:55:53Speaker 28: so you can get to phase two. Phase two is
- 1:55:57Speaker 28: stopping all the oil transfer in the Strait of Hormuz.
- 1:56:03Speaker 5: Why?
- 1:56:03Speaker 28: Because that stops. He don't care about Iran. You know,
- 1:56:07Speaker 28: we don't care about what they yell or anything. It's
- 1:56:10Speaker 28: about China. It's about Russia. But mostly it's about Great Britain,
- 1:56:14Speaker 28: and it's about Luxembourg, Brussels, all the people that hold
- 1:56:19Speaker 28: our national debt. He's putting the squeeze on them. That's
- 1:56:23Speaker 28: phase two. So when you put the squeeze on them,
- 1:56:27Speaker 28: you get phase three, which is they're going to have
- 1:56:31Speaker 28: to buy the oil from us.
- 1:56:33Speaker 5: You see?
- 1:56:34Speaker 28: So you can't just look at it as phase one,
- 1:56:38Speaker 28: you know, or like the war and we're losing gas
- 1:56:41Speaker 28: prices are high. No, it's going to be all right
- 1:56:44Speaker 28: because who said 183 days until the midterms? Well, guess
- 1:56:49Speaker 28: what's going to happen there? He's going to.
- 1:56:51Speaker 5: Have it all solved.
- 1:56:52Speaker 28: He has a great, I call it, I heard another
- 1:56:56Speaker 28: podcaster call it the great reset. He's doing a reset
- 1:57:00Speaker 28: from the deep state. They're reset. You see what I mean?
- 1:57:04Speaker 28: There's a battle going on. And this is going to
- 1:57:07Speaker 28: be Donald Trump. He took Venezuela. We got their oil there.
- 1:57:11Speaker 28: He's going to control the Western Hemisphere. And to do this,
- 1:57:16Speaker 28: you're missing phase two and phase three when you talk
- 1:57:19Speaker 28: about this war.
- 1:57:21Speaker 2: There he is, the unintelligent caller trying to be intelligent.
- 1:57:25Speaker 2: Thank you. You're on the air.
- 1:57:28Speaker 5: Good evening, Ron. How are you?
- 1:57:30Speaker 2: I'm very short on time.
- 1:57:31Speaker 30: Well, I got to tell you, a lot of what
- 1:57:34Speaker 30: was just said is right. I mean, the city of London,
- 1:57:36Speaker 30: you know, the globalists, that's all in the mix on
- 1:57:38Speaker 30: this thing. It is a larger strategy that's being played out,
- 1:57:44Speaker 30: and there are phases to it. And, you know, right
- 1:57:47Speaker 30: now we're.
- 1:57:47Speaker 13: Just in this phase where we just can't.
- 1:57:51Speaker 12: Get control of the street.
- 1:57:52Speaker 13: I think this is something a lot of folks are missing.
- 1:57:54Speaker 2: No, wait, let me do a quick break, then I
- 1:57:56Speaker 2: want to come back to you, and you've got to
- 1:57:58Speaker 2: sum it up for the night, okay? Hang on. Back
- 1:58:01Speaker 2: with G2. Looking forward to his insight on it, and
- 1:58:06Speaker 2: you will hear it after this.
- 1:58:07Speaker 8: 570 WKBN.
- 1:58:10Speaker 2: All right, Stadium GM in the heart of Salem is
- 1:58:12Speaker 2: where I want you to go for your next used
- 1:58:16Speaker 2: or new car, truck, or SUV and experience the difference
- 1:58:19Speaker 2: that you'll find at Stadium GM. It's just great customer service.
- 1:58:23Speaker 2: And it's a great philosophy of a dealership. I shared
- 1:58:25Speaker 2: it with you this afternoon. And I encourage you for
- 1:58:28Speaker 2: your family to not dread being in the car market,
- 1:58:32Speaker 2: whether it's new or used, but have some joy with
- 1:58:34Speaker 2: your life. And you'll find it when you go where
- 1:58:37Speaker 2: they have all makes and all models at Stadium GM,
- 1:58:40Speaker 2: whether it's Buick, Cadillac, GMC, Chevy. And with a dealership
- 1:58:46Speaker 2: that appreciates your business, it's big enough to offer you everything,
- 1:58:49Speaker 2: yet small enough to get to know you and treat
- 1:58:52Speaker 2: you the right way. That's what you get with Shorty Navarro,
- 1:58:54Speaker 2: Mike Kudak, and the gang from service to sales at
- 1:58:57Speaker 2: Stadium GM in the heart of Salem. So keep that
- 1:59:00Speaker 2: in mind. All right, G2, with limited time, every day
- 1:59:04Speaker 2: I'm hearing it, we got a deal, we got a deal,
- 1:59:06Speaker 2: there's no deal. Oil price went up today. We're at
- 1:59:10Speaker 2: $ 5 a gallon here. Talk about it.
- 1:59:12Speaker 13: This is not, as I've said many times, not a
- 1:59:16Speaker 13: linear process. There are going to be days with deals,
- 1:59:17Speaker 13: days with no deals. There are going to be a
- 1:59:19Speaker 13: lot of puts and takes. and and you've got this
- 1:59:21Speaker 13: internal battle for control in iran that is obviously going
- 1:59:24Speaker 13: to happen anytime you eliminate several layers of leadership in
- 1:59:27Speaker 13: both the military and civilian side so none of this
- 1:59:30Speaker 13: volatility is surprising in that it in that it this
- 1:59:34Speaker 13: is war and it's war with an enemy who is
- 1:59:37Speaker 13: going through tremendous struggles for power so so this is
- 1:59:41Speaker 13: all normal now iran is certainly the enemy in this
- 1:59:45Speaker 13: particular battle the bigger enemy as I think the unintelligent
- 1:59:49Speaker 13: caller pointed to, is these globalists. And whether you call
- 1:59:52Speaker 13: them Mr. Global or the globalists or the City of London,
- 1:59:55Speaker 13: the 13 families, however you say it, that's what the
- 1:59:58Speaker 13: reset is about. They're saying we're going to reset the
- 2:00:01Speaker 13: world so that your borders mean nothing and we control
- 2:00:04Speaker 13: what you do through the U.N., the World Health Organization.
- 2:00:07Speaker 13: And Trump and some others are saying we're going to
- 2:00:10Speaker 13: have sovereign nations that are run for the interest of
- 2:00:12Speaker 13: our citizens, and our citizens are going to decide how
- 2:00:15Speaker 13: they're run. by voting for the representatives that they want
- 2:00:19Speaker 13: and so this battle is critical i think as we
- 2:00:21Speaker 13: go forward and come closer to uh..
- 2:00:24Speaker 1: Uh..
- 2:00:25Speaker 28: The the uh..
- 2:00:27Speaker 13: The need for this decision in congress as we get
- 2:00:29Speaker 13: to this position in congress don't forget a pack has
- 2:00:31Speaker 13: tremendous power over congress and and a lot of members
- 2:00:35Speaker 13: of congress are israeli and and they are going to
- 2:00:38Speaker 13: be pushing hard to keep the war going i don't
- 2:00:40Speaker 13: know what pound of flesh what ransom we're gonna have
- 2:00:43Speaker 13: to pay to congress to get them to agree but
- 2:00:45Speaker 13: i suspect israel will demand the congress he'll and make uh...
- 2:00:51Speaker 13: and do its bidding and keep this.
- 2:00:52Speaker 28: War going uh..
- 2:00:53Speaker 13: Now can we get to say that passed in the
- 2:00:55Speaker 13: middle of that i don't know but the next stage
- 2:00:58Speaker 13: of the most critical battle which is the internal battle
- 2:01:00Speaker 13: far more important iran is the domestic fight and the
- 2:01:02Speaker 13: next step there is the midterms and we've got to
- 2:01:05Speaker 13: get the payback past i don't know where israel stands
- 2:01:07Speaker 13: on if they're against it or for a card you
- 2:01:09Speaker 13: know we should check in with a pack i suppose
- 2:01:11Speaker 13: but americans have to demand that we get the Save
- 2:01:15Speaker 13: America Act so we can have legitimate elections in the fall.
- 2:01:18Speaker 11: All right.
- 2:01:22Speaker 2: Any other thoughts?
- 2:01:24Speaker 13: Well, there's a lot, but there's such limited time. You know,
- 2:01:27Speaker 13: I'll tell you, the other thought is, it's a beautiful
- 2:01:29Speaker 13: late spring day, and wherever you are, try to get
- 2:01:32Speaker 13: a few minutes outside and enjoy the air and sun,
- 2:01:35Speaker 13: because it's a beautiful..
- 2:01:37Speaker 2: Are you worried about the midterm, so, because of... Gas
- 2:01:42Speaker 2: prices being high and could go higher? Inflation coming back?
- 2:01:46Speaker 13: I think gas prices are a critical factor to a
- 2:01:49Speaker 13: huge number of voters that know nothing about what's going on,
- 2:01:51Speaker 13: as you said earlier. We're not talking about your listeners.
- 2:01:54Speaker 13: We're talking about Joe Mainstreet. They revel in their ignorance,
- 2:01:58Speaker 13: and they'll vote on something as simple as that. But
- 2:02:03Speaker 13: the midterms are simply the next domestic battle that has
- 2:02:06Speaker 13: to be won. It's the SAVE Act, then the midterms,
- 2:02:08Speaker 13: and without one, you don't get the other.
- 2:02:10Speaker 5: So..
- 2:02:12Speaker 13: So this is a really critical battle.
- 2:02:13Speaker 2: And I just look at it as that. I hope
- 2:02:16Speaker 2: we have more time to talk about it tomorrow. G2,
- 2:02:18Speaker 2: thank you. NewsRadio 570, WKBN.
- 2:02:24Speaker 4: From ABC News, I'm Mike Dabosky. A dramatic escalation in
- 2:02:29Speaker 4: fighting today around the Strait of Hormuz as the U.S.
- 2:02:32Speaker 4: Navy begins escorting commercial ships through the blockade. ABC News
- 2:02:36Speaker 4: foreign correspondent Tom Sufi Burridge reports from Tel Aviv.
- 2:02:39Speaker 31: Iran launches attacks both on the United Arab Emirates and,
- 2:02:44Speaker 31: according to CENTCOM, also firing cruise missiles at U.S.
- 2:02:48Speaker 13: Military ships and..
- 2:02:49Speaker 31: At cargo vessels near to the Strait of Hormuz. CENTCOM
- 2:02:53Speaker 31: saying all of those missiles were shot down and none
- 2:02:56Speaker 31: of the vessels were destroyed. And CENTCOM also saying they
- 2:02:59Speaker 31: destroyed six small Iranian gunboats.
- 2:03:02Speaker 4: Oil prices were up on the increased hostilities today as
- 2:03:05Speaker 4: the average price for a gallon of gas in the U.S.
- 2:03:07Speaker 4: now sits at over $ 4.
- 2:03:09Speaker 2: 40 a gallon.
- 2:03:10Speaker 4: Economist Joe Bruce-Swellis says Americans will feel that and not
- 2:03:14Speaker 4: just at the gas pump.
- 2:03:15Speaker 25: Think of everything that you buy that involves plastic. You
- 2:03:19Speaker 25: like your broccoli and plastic that you buy from Costco?
- 2:03:22Speaker 25: That's going to get more expensive. Hey, American moms, those
- 2:03:26Speaker 25: disposable diapers you get from Walmart, they're going to jump
- 2:03:29Speaker 25: in price, too. So we're going to get a little
- 2:03:31Speaker 25: bit of a modest inflation shock here.
- 2:03:34Speaker 4: Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito has issued a temporary stay
- 2:03:38Speaker 4: in a case involving Mifepristone, the popular abortion drug. ABC's
- 2:03:42Speaker 4: Devin Dwyer explains what's likely to come next.
- 2:03:45Speaker 32: Supreme Court basically has not taken a position just yet.
- 2:03:48Speaker 32: And what they're deciding is whether or not they think
- 2:03:51Speaker 32: the state of Louisiana is likely to prevail in challenging
- 2:03:55Speaker 32: the safety of how Mifepristone is distributed. So by next
- 2:04:00Speaker 32: week sometime, the Supreme Court is likely to weigh in
- 2:04:02Speaker 32: and either extend this day or snapping back to pre-2023 guidelines.
- 2:04:08Speaker 4: And it looks like the case between Blake Lively and
- 2:04:10Speaker 4: Justin Baldoni won't be going to trial. The two sides
- 2:04:13Speaker 4: engaged in a contentious legal fight over allegations of abuse
- 2:04:16Speaker 4: on a movie set have announced they've reached a settlement.
- 2:04:20Speaker 4: You're listening to ABC News.
- 2:04:26Speaker 22: From ABC News, I'm Stephanie Officer. A dramatic escalation in
- 2:04:30Speaker 22: the Strait of Hormuz as the U.S. Navy begins escorting
- 2:04:33Speaker 22: commercial ships through the blockade. ABC's Tom Sufiburich.
- 2:04:37Speaker 2: The U.S.
- 2:04:37Speaker 31: Military moved two destroyers into the Persian Gulf, deployed near
- 2:04:41Speaker 31: there as part of this new plan from President Trump
- 2:04:43Speaker 31: to basically create a new security dynamic so more of
- 2:04:46Speaker 31: the cargo vessels trapped west of that narrow waterway could
- 2:04:49Speaker 31: potentially escape east through the Strait of Hormuz. We saw
- 2:04:53Speaker 31: two U.S.-linked vessels actually make that journey. But then after that,
- 2:04:57Speaker 31: Iran launching these attacks both on the United Arab Emirates and,
- 2:05:02Speaker 31: according to CENTCOM, also firing cruise missiles at U.S.
- 2:05:06Speaker 2: Military ships.
- 2:05:08Speaker 22: Police in Edmond, Oklahoma now say at least 23 people
- 2:05:11Speaker 22: were injured in a shooting Sunday night.
- 2:05:13Speaker 18: Police say the shooting unfolded during an unsanctioned lakeside party
- 2:05:17Speaker 18: in Edmond. The party had been advertised on social media
- 2:05:20Speaker 18: and drew a large crowd of young adults. A number
- 2:05:22Speaker 18: of victims went up overnight as more people arrived at emergency.
- 2:05:25Speaker 2: Rooms on their own.
- 2:05:26Speaker 18: The injuries ranged in severity and a local hospital says
- 2:05:29Speaker 18: the ages were 16 to 30 years old. No arrests
- 2:05:33Speaker 18: have been made. Police say the event was not permitted
- 2:05:35Speaker 18: and they do not believe there is an ongoing fire.
- 2:05:38Speaker 2: Threat.
- 2:05:38Speaker 18: Alex Stone, ABC News.

- 2:05:46Speaker 22: underway in New York City. A-listers Beyonce and Nicole Kidman, co-chairs,

- 2:05:53Speaker 22: is a fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Arts Costume Institute.
- 2:05:56Speaker 22: ABC's Joelle Gargiulo.
- 2:06:05Speaker 1: WKRP in Cincinnati.
- 2:06:11Speaker 22: WKRP Cincinnati, now for real. Call letters from the fictional

- 2:07:26Speaker 22: Day three of the search for two missing American soldiers
- 2:07:29Speaker 22: off the coast of Morocco.
- 2:07:30Speaker 35: Both soldiers, according to a U.S. official, are with the
- 2:07:33Speaker 35: army and were on a hike Saturday near the remote
- 2:07:36Speaker 35: Moroccan city of Tantan, right between the edge of the
- 2:07:39Speaker 35: Saharan desert and the Moroccan coast. It's believed that U.S.

- 2:08:02Speaker 12: Considerable to say 20 to 25 percent chance of positive
- 2:08:07Speaker 12: outlook before our first surgery.
- 2:08:10Speaker 36: A doctor at Orlando's Weenie Palmer Hospital opted to try
- 2:08:13Speaker 36: an extraordinary alternative. He partially delivered Cassian via C-section as
- 2:08:18Speaker 36: the medical team worked to create an airway. Then they
