- 0:28Good morning from the Chicken Coop.
- 0:31Today, we are talking about being a non-judgmental Observer.
- 0:36Wow, doesn't that like sound? So great in theory, anyway,
- 0:41being a non-judgmental Observer of all the things that I may ask
- 0:46you to do. Over the time we spend together,
- 0:50here, this may be the most difficult one being The
- 0:53non-judgmental Observer. Probably the hardest thing I've
- 0:58ever had to work on in my life. Don't say, I never will come out
- 1:01and say that I've got it conquered because I don't,
- 1:04because I do have those moments where I lose my cool.
- 1:08And it is always the me jumping to an emotional conclusion and
- 1:14making a judgment. And then of course, having a
- 1:17reaction to it, I can tell you right now.
- 1:20If you a, my husband will listen to this later and we will laugh
- 1:23about it, but it's true. The stove is One of my places
- 1:27where I have a very hard time being a non-judgmental Observer
- 1:31or love when my husband Cooks. But watching him flip eggs and
- 1:36add spices. He is like a French chef in the
- 1:39kitchen and there's always stuff flying and for me the
- 1:43obsessively clean girl it is like uh oh no the stove and I
- 1:48instantaneously have a reaction. And to this day I have to work
- 1:51on it and I laugh about it because I think it's like it's
- 1:54just God's joke with me about how It reminds me that this is
- 1:57all work. We have to do constantly.
- 2:00If I had it mastered and I didn't bother me then clearly, I
- 2:04would not remember that I was human and I might get a little
- 2:06full of myself, but he reminds me every day and I love that.
- 2:12So non-judgmental observers, what does this mean?
- 2:14It means you can see something happen.
- 2:16And you can instead of coming to a conclusion instantaneously,
- 2:20you can pause and you can pull yourself out of it and just say,
- 2:24this is interesting. Let me Stop.
- 2:27Let me think about this now, I'm excellent at this.
- 2:30With my clients, my clients can call and they can tell me
- 2:33anything and believe me. They tell me some very
- 2:36interesting things, but I can't judge it.
- 2:38I have to just meet them where they are and I have to hear them
- 2:42out so that I can help them. Because if I decide to go
- 2:45emotional, I'm not going to get them anywhere.
- 2:48I'm going to end up messing things up because in my emotion,
- 2:51I'm not going to think clearly because when remember, I will
- 2:53say this often when emotions go up and tell, Agents goes down.
- 2:57Yes, here, that when emotions go up, intelligence goes down and
- 3:01that works positively and negatively.
- 3:04So, it's important to remember, being the nausea under
- 3:07non-judgmental Observer is critically important to your
- 3:11success in anything. Because if you are not in a
- 3:15state of already coming to a conclusion, you can actually
- 3:20formulate a much better vision of the entire situation.
- 3:26You get Clearer picture of the situation before you can give
- 3:29ideas or have a way to solve it. So you have to think of this, in
- 3:34terms of the value is in. You being able to one, not get
- 3:38your buttons push but to just telling yourself I'm a
- 3:41non-judgmental Observer right now.
- 3:44Adding an extra seat on your bus.
- 3:47So to speak in our emotional bus.
- 3:49When we have that, I have my non-judgmental Observer and
- 3:52she's just doesn't have opinions Clerk.
- 3:56Clearly, she's just there to see what it's all about.
- 3:59Take it all in. Think it through, I once
- 4:02remember, General Schwarzkopf, for those of you who remember
- 4:05who he was had a comment, During the speaking engagement and he
- 4:10said the smartest person in the room is often the person who
- 4:14speaks last and I always thought about that because he was such a
- 4:18powerful person, so many Realms of the world, but he was also
- 4:23someone that so many people liked.
- 4:26And, you know, again, that's because he would observe
- 4:29everybody else. And then he would come to
- 4:31conclusions again, back to that non-judgmental Observer mode.
- 4:36And I think that when we go to that place, And we say okay, I'm
- 4:40going to formulate my opinions. Yes, I will have an opinion but
- 4:44if I do it from the place of already having the opinion going
- 4:48into it, I'm at a disadvantage. If I pause myself, if I pull
- 4:51myself out, if I can get into that place of neutral
- 4:55non-judgmental Observer, then I can come to a conclusion that is
- 4:59much more likely to serve me because I can see all the
- 5:03Avenues around it. I can't stress to you guys
- 5:06enough. How important this aspect is?
- 5:08Cuz one of the things that it does for you, is it gives you
- 5:12the ability to see around you, what's really happening.
- 5:16Instead of just from your point of view, you know?
- 5:18Let's go back to my kitchen example, my husband loves to
- 5:22cook for us for the family. I mean, that's one of his things
- 5:25that he actually gets so much joy out of his cooking.
- 5:28And so, when he's doing it, he's not thinking about the mess,
- 5:32he's making. I think about the mess.
- 5:35He thinks about the fact that he's lucky, he's able to cook
- 5:38For his family, he loves doing that, he loves to have people,
- 5:41try the food and say, wow, this is amazing.
- 5:44So he's pouring love into this and I'm looking at it from a
- 5:47different point of view. Now, when I am not managing my
- 5:50state, when I'm not managing my insane, cleaning girl, and she's
- 5:55sitting at the front of the bus freaking out, that's what I see.
- 5:58But when I am in my non-judgmental Observer, I can
- 6:01see how much fun he's having and I don't want to Rob him of the
- 6:05fun. So I'm going to tell you today,
- 6:07I want you guys to to go out and try to cultivate your
- 6:10non-judgmental observers and see how that takes.
- 6:13You see where that takes you and I hope you have a very, very
- 6:17blessed day.
