  He always brings so much energy, which I just love. And you need

  that energy because I'm looking at your schedule for the fifteenth and you've got a

  heck of a day there and this is all around, got a couple of
• 0:35
  really cool events going on. But the big thing that morning is the McKenzie
• 0:39
  Regional Workforce Center is the ribbon cutting. It's open officially. We're talking about
• 0:44
  the fundraising and all the great stuff that goes into this. Let's talk real
• 0:47
  quick before we get to the events that are going to take place that day
• 0:49
  around this this ribbon cutting, Let's talk about the Regional Workforce Center and what
• 0:56
  all went into it, what's going to be there? So much, so
• 0:58
  many questions, Terry. I know, it's really it's really something. It's
• 1:03
  a really a dream come true and a game changer for our community. For
• 1:07
  both youth and our economy and so the McKenzie Regional Workforce Center. The grand
• 1:15
  opening is July fifteenth. And this has been a dream that has been on
• 1:21
  many people's minds for many years. But really it kind of kicked off about
• 1:26
  two years ago, a little over two years ago, when John McKenzie was
• 1:32
  able to acquire the property that is now going to be the McKenzie Regional Workforce
• 1:38
  Center. Since that time, we've gutted the building, we have added onto
• 1:44
  the building and transformed the building and that's what thanks to Open and FINDORFF and
• 1:52
  it is truly I guess what I hear most from people is that they are
• 1:56
  surprised. It is truthfully the most beautiful building and space. It's pretty much.
• 2:02
  I saw Michael shared some pictures on the Facebook page for Boys and Girls
• 2:07
  Club of Dane County of the interior and I was blown away. It's it's
• 2:12
  exterior, it's the renovation stuff. It looks it's beautiful, but the inside
• 2:15
  just looks amazing. Yeah, it is totally amazing. The whole first floor
• 2:23
  is truly dedicated to skilled trades and there is so the offices of course,
• 2:30
  so there for the people who will be working on the programming and things like
• 2:35
  that. But then there is a workshop that is where you can get hands
• 2:39
  on training with tools and Milwaukee Tool donated a bunch of tools, and and
• 2:47
  then there is a classroom that has simulators and also you know, like you
• 2:55
  know, also where you can learn do the ahead of time learnings. It's
• 3:00
  certifications. And then they built it in where there's lockers, there's showers,
• 3:06
  there's a little kitchenette, there's going to be snacks, and then there's beautiful
• 3:12
  showcases um to kind of display what are the companies that represent the skilled trades
• 3:19
  in here in Madison and different opportunities that are available for youth. It's a
• 3:23
  really good opportunity too. We talk about the skilled trades and I know a
• 3:28
  lot of times one of the one of the things we'll talk about is there's
• 3:30
  there's not enough focus on those jobs. And they are really good jobs.
• 3:35
  They have really good benefits and you know, for people that really like you
• 3:38
  know, working with their hands, working with their brains, it's a really
• 3:42
  it's a really good career path. And talking about having this, it's going
• 3:45
  to be really great to have this here in Dane County's gonna be right off
• 3:47
  the Verona Road Williamsburg Way right in that area, right. That is correct,
• 3:53
  it's actually five two one five Verona Road, but it's actually the entrances
• 3:57
  on Discovery I think it's Discovery Way. Yeah, but you'll see it right
• 4:00
  there from the highway and there's gonna be lots of things going on there.

  It's gonna be really cool. Speak of lots of things going on to mark
• 4:09
  this, and I know it's been an ongoing fundraiser with the Boys and Girls
• 4:12
  Club of Dane County a couple of things. Of course, the big event
• 4:16
  music and bike riding, the Move in Groove for Boys and Girls Club of
• 4:19
  Dane County. That's going to be taking place in the fifteenth as well,
• 4:23
  isn't it. Yes, that's where we're going to kick things off. That's
• 4:26
  the first of the grand opening event. So that's in the morning. That
• 4:30
  goes from seven am to two pm. It has three different bike rides,
• 4:33
  a fifty to twenty five and eight, a five k run, a two
• 4:38
  mile runner walk, kids dash for the first time, and the Badger basketball
• 4:42
  team is coming for that. I saw that cool is that? And also
• 4:46
  a first for us as VO five, which is a wonderful fun Madison band
• 4:51
  that everyone enjoys and they're playing from eleven to two plus. There's just kid
• 4:58
  friendly food and going on and you can go tour the Mackenzie Regional Workforce Center.

  That is fantastic. Are you still looking for sign ups for folks to

  get involved for the for the day. Yes, there's still you can still
• 5:12
  participate UM and so you know, don't hesitate sign up. It's also a
• 5:16
  way that you can do peer to peer fundraising. There's great incentives and we
• 5:20
  need a ton of volunteers. Oh, they'd love to get you. Get
• 5:25

  starting with a with Move and Groove and the night will be capped off by

  the White Party. And it looks like it's going to be one heck of

  event. Where's that going to be taking place and what times it start?

  Well, that is taking place right at the Mackenzie Regional Workforce Center. We're
• 5:55
  putting up big tents, we're opening up the building. There's a beautiful patio.

  There's going to be a stage, a white dance floor, so there's
• 6:03
  a whole lineup of entertainment. We have a DJ, we have two bands,
• 6:09
  Functastics and Kinfolk, And we have some celebrities like in the house,
• 6:15
  I mean Tay Digs, Lorenz Tate and does Michael just pick up his phone
• 6:21
  and call these people are like, he's probably got the most most connected rolodecks
• 6:28
  in the areas. Yeah, what's so interesting is that people are actually calling
• 6:31
  him now too surprising. So that's going to be taking place. That evening
• 6:40
  kicks off at six, goes until eleven. It'll be at the Mackenzie Regional
• 6:44
  Workforce Center for people that and I know, a summer I look at every
• 6:47
  you know, I think a lot of us we do this at the start
• 6:49
  of summer, start filling out that calendar. Maybe unfortunately people are out town.

  I got an event. There are still ways to contribute though, aren't
• 6:55
  there? Oh? Yes, you know, so even the morning event,
• 6:58
  there's a virtual option and still you can support someone who is trying to fund

  raise it there and you can donate, and you can donate to the Mackenzie
• 7:06
  Regional Workforce Center. You can donate towards the events and just Boys and Girls
• 7:12
  Club. The money being raised is all going to the programming for Boys and
• 7:16
  Girls Club and that ranges for kids two and a half to twenty four preschool
• 7:21
  through college and now skill trades. Oh, that is absolutely fantastic. More
