Can you travel when you're not rich? KC did Europe on $3 a day in 1979.
KC landed in London in 1979 with $2,000, a sleeping bag, two skirts she sewed herself and a pair of red high heels. No tent. She stuck out her thumb and stayed gone seven months on $3 a day for food. She came home with $1,200.
KC is 73 now. She hiked the John Muir Trail. She moved to a Spanish town of 900 people with her 11 year old and no school picked out. She drove a $4,000 church bus 18,000 miles to Alaska and back, then bought a $450 minivan named Apollo that's still running up there. She plans to live to 103.
