- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Almost Famous podcast with iHeartRadio. Welcome to
- 0:05Speaker 1: the Almost Famous OG Podcast. It's Bob Getty here without
- 0:09Speaker 1: my partner in crime, of course, Trista Sutter. She's unavailable
- 0:12Speaker 1: to be here today, but I am very excited and
- 0:14Speaker 1: we'll do my very best to represent for us. We've
- 0:17Speaker 1: got one of the standouts from this season from mel
- 0:19Speaker 1: season of The Golden Bachelor, doctor Terry Alani, the Texas
- 0:23Speaker 1: Tooth Lady, and if we are lucky, we might even
- 0:26Speaker 1: get to talk to Carly, doctor Terry Alanni's sidekick, So
- 0:29Speaker 1: let's bring her in. Hi. How are you doing. I'm good.
- 0:33Speaker 1: How are you? I am doing great?
- 0:36Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Welcome to the Almost Famous Podcast.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. I love to talk.
- 0:44Speaker 1: I'm sure you do. I mean, at the end of
- 0:46Speaker 1: the day, I'm sure you got plenty to say too.
- 0:47Speaker 1: What an experience. How are you feeling getting to watch
- 0:50Speaker 1: it all back in real time?
- 0:52Speaker 2: You know, it's really interesting because some of the things
- 0:54Speaker 2: I was really surprised at. I had so much fun.
- 0:57Speaker 2: I think I left with the right time, to be honest,
- 0:59Speaker 2: the yeah, how the drama started taking place, So I
- 1:02Speaker 2: was sort of surprised at how some of it has
- 1:06Speaker 2: taken place.
- 1:06Speaker 1: So far, a little more drama, you think than maybe
- 1:10Speaker 1: what you would have liked to have experienced.
- 1:13Speaker 2: You know, I was surprised at who the top two were.
- 1:17Speaker 2: I was surprised at that, and I was surprised at
- 1:21Speaker 2: I mean, come on, we all know about.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Nicole right, hot lips, hot lips, the coal.
- 1:27Speaker 2: And the way she portrayed herself on camera with the interviews,
- 1:32Speaker 2: versus the way she was.
- 1:33Speaker 1: With us, So tell me a little bit about that.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I mean, you know, I was. I think, first of all,
- 1:39Speaker 1: I usually like to open every interview saying, of course,
- 1:42Speaker 1: this is the ogs, right, the almost famous OG's podcast,
- 1:45Speaker 1: meaning typically my co host Trista Sutter is here with me.
- 1:49Speaker 1: She was the first bachelorette, I was the first person
- 1:52Speaker 1: to be a reject from her season to be then
- 1:55Speaker 1: named the bachelor after that, So I helped start this trend.
- 1:59Speaker 1: I guess Trista's technically started it, and then I really
- 2:01Speaker 1: kind of piled it on. But so we know a
- 2:04Speaker 1: little bit about this drama stuff, you know, some of
- 2:06Speaker 1: it that unfolds on camera and some of it that doesn't.
- 2:09Speaker 1: But you mentioned Nicole, how how she portrayed herself on
- 2:12Speaker 1: camera versus how she was with y' all. So I
- 2:15Speaker 1: am curious about that because you know, when we when
- 2:17Speaker 1: we looked at the season when it first started, I mean,
- 2:20Speaker 1: of course, you know, the big driving driving tone of
- 2:24Speaker 1: it was Mel's comments on the podcast and how all
- 2:26Speaker 1: the women, especially you with your little buddy came up
- 2:28Speaker 1: and you know, gave him a swat in the face
- 2:30Speaker 1: when you when you agreeted.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Him, and I had my buddy with me in case
- 2:33Speaker 2: she got I'm so excited.
- 2:36Speaker 1: I was hoping you were going to don't don't bring
- 2:38Speaker 1: them out yet because I got question your buddy too.
- 2:41Speaker 1: But but what I thought was really interesting was, you know,
- 2:44Speaker 1: a lot of you had heard those comments obviously beforehand,
- 2:46Speaker 1: still decided to go on with the show. And you know,
- 2:49Speaker 1: I'm sure there was a lot of apprehension right going
- 2:53Speaker 1: into it. I mean, you know, with his with his
- 2:55Speaker 1: age range and everything else, and then you guys are
- 2:57Speaker 1: coming out just bombshells one after the next, all beautiful,
- 3:00Speaker 1: all beautiful and accomplished women and kind of putting it
- 3:04Speaker 1: right in his face, which I thought was pretty awesome.
- 3:06Speaker 1: I'm not going to lie to you, I really enjoyed
- 3:07Speaker 1: that part of the show, but you mentioned Nicole in particular.
- 3:11Speaker 1: So one of the things that we always talk about
- 3:13Speaker 1: is a lot of people come off of these shows
- 3:14Speaker 1: and they'll say, oh, well, I just got a bad
- 3:15Speaker 1: at it. You know, it wasn't me. I didn't say
- 3:17Speaker 1: any of those things, And we're like, well, the beauty
- 3:19Speaker 1: of reality television is that cameras are always rolling. So
- 3:22Speaker 1: you probably did say it, maybe not in that moment,
- 3:24Speaker 1: maybe not exactly when they used it. But what was
- 3:27Speaker 1: Nicole like to y'all as opposed to her on camera
- 3:31Speaker 1: interviews that you found so interesting?
- 3:32Speaker 2: Okay, first of all, I want to say how to
- 3:34Speaker 2: trust her because I watched that show. Okay, I've watched
- 3:37Speaker 2: The Bachelor since the very beginning, so dressing, I've seen them,
- 3:42Speaker 2: believe it or not, I've been around.
- 3:44Speaker 1: I love it.
- 3:45Speaker 2: So with Nicole, she was really nice in the house.
- 3:50Speaker 2: She was she was so sweet, so fun. She and
- 3:53Speaker 2: I would use my puppets sometimes and we would pretend
- 3:56Speaker 2: that we were these entertainment hosts and interview all the
- 3:58Speaker 2: girl But she cooked and she I remember the night
- 4:02Speaker 2: that she won the roast and she went out with him,
- 4:07Speaker 2: and that she came back. We're all waiting to hear
- 4:08Speaker 2: what she had to say, and she was just so
- 4:10Speaker 2: transparent and it was just refreshing because she was so honest.
- 4:15Speaker 2: And then I would watch it after I had left.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I watched the segment the episodes, and I was like flabbergasted,
- 4:24Speaker 2: like who is this girl? Because she wasn't like that
- 4:27Speaker 2: with us, And honestly, I think she was having fun
- 4:31Speaker 2: with it. I think her journey was very different than
- 4:33Speaker 2: most of the girls, and I think that was just
- 4:38Speaker 2: what she thinks thought she needed to do to attract
- 4:41Speaker 2: the attention that she needed. And you know the fact
- 4:43Speaker 2: that she said she wanted to be an involunteer didn't
- 4:46Speaker 2: even FaZe me whatsoever, because I think that a lot
- 4:49Speaker 2: of people are on the show for different reasons, right,
- 4:52Speaker 2: I mean, for me, it would be to try to
- 4:55Speaker 2: find a relationship. I mean at my age, I'm seventy
- 4:57Speaker 2: two now, so any guy that breathes is probably good.
- 5:01Speaker 2: But but you know, I was there for the right reasons.
- 5:05Speaker 2: But also I wanted to kind of inspire women at
- 5:09Speaker 2: my age to say, hey, you can get out there,
- 5:11Speaker 2: you can go for you can still be fit, be
- 5:14Speaker 2: healthy and enjoy life. So you know, I had my
- 5:17Speaker 2: reasons as well, So I wasn't really upset about that.
- 5:20Speaker 2: I think what bothered me is I feel like she
- 5:22Speaker 2: kind of dished some of the girls, and I don't
- 5:25Speaker 2: like that.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Well, because you don't have to be that way, right,
- 5:28Speaker 1: I mean, you can go through these shows and really
- 5:30Speaker 1: pump each other up and have each other's back and
- 5:33Speaker 1: you know, but like to what you said, though, maybe
- 5:35Speaker 1: she was trying to position herself as you know, the snarky,
- 5:40Speaker 1: funny whatever it might be, and it kind of backfired
- 5:43Speaker 1: a little bit on her.
- 5:44Speaker 2: And I'll say something, you know, she after I called
- 5:48Speaker 2: her out in the pool, which I didn't know the
- 5:50Speaker 2: cameras were on me, so that was like really genuine
- 5:54Speaker 2: and I mean I really am not like that. I mean,
- 5:56Speaker 2: obviously I got eliminated halfway through because some of the girls,
- 5:59Speaker 2: like I roved to with Cindy and she really was
- 6:03Speaker 2: into mel So I just kind of backed up because
- 6:06Speaker 2: I knew I wasn't going to be as forward and
- 6:09Speaker 2: I just kind of let her take over. So I
- 6:11Speaker 2: really enjoyed my time. But with Nicole as far as
- 6:15Speaker 2: the pool scene, I told her after I did my
- 6:18Speaker 2: camera interview that I had called her out I said, look,
- 6:21Speaker 2: I called you out. It's probably gonna be on national TV.
- 6:23Speaker 2: I just want you to let you know because I
- 6:25Speaker 2: don't want you to be surprised seeing it. And so
- 6:27Speaker 2: she and I were pretty good. And then you know,
- 6:30Speaker 2: I come home and I was eliminated, and I watched
- 6:33Speaker 2: the season. I'm like, what the hell? And I'll tell
- 6:37Speaker 2: you in the roast when Debbie called out Nicole. I
- 6:42Speaker 2: was proud of Debbie because Debbie had some emotions and
- 6:45Speaker 2: I had actually started that conversation. They did not show
- 6:48Speaker 2: that on the air, but I'd started it and I
- 6:51Speaker 2: sort of sandwiched it. Debbie's pretty much hit it straight on.
- 6:56Speaker 2: But you know, a lot of us were upset because
- 6:59Speaker 2: she was so nice in the house. That's what blew
- 7:02Speaker 2: us away. If she had been like a villain in
- 7:05Speaker 2: the house, maybe we could have understood it, but we
- 7:08Speaker 2: just couldn't understand it. And every time mel would walk
- 7:11Speaker 2: into the house, she would be the first to go up.
- 7:13Speaker 2: I remember one day she called him her husband. I mean,
- 7:15Speaker 2: it was funny. But Nicole is super articulate and very intelligent,
- 7:22Speaker 2: and I've heard her interviews. She navigates gates things beautifully,
- 7:26Speaker 2: and I think she could have used her prowess in
- 7:29Speaker 2: a more positive light, because I felt like way too
- 7:33Speaker 2: much energy was focused on her and the drama versus
- 7:38Speaker 2: the women and the sisterhood in the.
- 7:39Speaker 1: House, right, And there was a good sisterhood, wasn't there.
- 7:43Speaker 1: There's a lot of us.
- 7:44Speaker 2: We had so much fun. They didn't really show us.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Nobody knows us. You know, everybody were just these fit, healthy, botoxed,
- 7:54Speaker 2: injected women.
- 7:56Speaker 1: And we're not.
- 7:58Speaker 2: You know, a lot of us are mothers. Honestly. For me,
- 8:01Speaker 2: I've been in shape all my life. I am super fit.
- 8:04Speaker 2: I take care of myself, I eat right. It's just
- 8:07Speaker 2: been a lifestyle for me. And I think people are shops.
- 8:10Speaker 2: They're like, she's seventy two and she can look like that. Yeah,
- 8:14Speaker 2: it's an everyday thing. It's consistent. So if I can
- 8:18Speaker 2: do it, I would like to inspire women and they
- 8:20Speaker 2: can do it as well.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Well. I got to tell you, I don't think that
- 8:23Speaker 1: the sisterhood was lost on most on all the viewers,
- 8:27Speaker 1: because you know, one of the things about the Golden franchise,
- 8:29Speaker 1: and I've said this a bunch, but I was nervous
- 8:32Speaker 1: the first season with Gary when it came out my
- 8:35Speaker 1: nerves were kind of about casting, right, and my fear was, oh,
- 8:40Speaker 1: my gosh, is this going to be like stunt casting.
- 8:42Speaker 1: They're going to bring in, you know, a bunch of
- 8:44Speaker 1: age appropriate people and then they're going to bring in
- 8:46Speaker 1: like two or three cougars to mix it up, and
- 8:49Speaker 1: you know, and I was worried about that. And then
- 8:51Speaker 1: and then they didn't do that, thankfully, And then the
- 8:54Speaker 1: women all got along so well, and there were so
- 8:56Speaker 1: many of the women that continued on, like Kathy and Susan,
- 8:59Speaker 1: who like their friendship really kind of drove the bus
- 9:02Speaker 1: for them to do a lot of really cool, cool
- 9:04Speaker 1: things after the show, even though they weren't, you know,
- 9:06Speaker 1: in the final pairings or whatever exactly, you know, And
- 9:10Speaker 1: that's I think what people see. There are a couple
- 9:13Speaker 1: of personalities that will stand out from this thing, and
- 9:16Speaker 1: and you know, obviously, I think you might really end
- 9:18Speaker 1: up being one of them. That you know, you just
- 9:20Speaker 1: say how you feel, you are who you are, and
- 9:22Speaker 1: you've made some great friendships, because that's the thing. I mean,
- 9:25Speaker 1: you know, one of the things I used to love
- 9:26Speaker 1: to say whenever they would have me talk to the
- 9:28Speaker 1: new bachelor guys, is that always say, hey, it's not
- 9:30Speaker 1: about you, and the guys would be like, what do
- 9:32Speaker 1: you mean. You know, no, it's not about you. It's
- 9:34Speaker 1: about the fact that we've got twenty or however, many
- 9:37Speaker 1: incredibly talented alpha women who have never lost anything to
- 9:42Speaker 1: any other woman. And so every one of those women
- 9:44Speaker 1: in this room are here too. They don't you don't
- 9:47Speaker 1: think you're there to win. But it's like this weird
- 9:49Speaker 1: social studies experiment, right, like kind of all of a sudden,
- 9:51Speaker 1: you're kind of progressing through this progress or through this processing,
- 9:56Speaker 1: and at the end of it you're sort of like, well,
- 9:58Speaker 1: why is she getting the rose? And you even mentioned
- 9:59Speaker 1: sind who was your roommate. You know, it comes down now.
- 10:03Speaker 1: You said you were a little surprised by the finalist,
- 10:05Speaker 1: by the final two people, why are you surprised by
- 10:07Speaker 1: I mean Cindy, obviously you probably know pretty well.
- 10:10Speaker 2: I wasn't surprised by Cindy. I thought Cindy would be
- 10:12Speaker 2: in it. I was surprised by Peg. Peg and I
- 10:15Speaker 2: are very good friends, and Cindy. I love Cindy, so
- 10:21Speaker 2: Peg in the beginning, she was just not into him
- 10:24Speaker 2: at all.
- 10:24Speaker 1: I mean, she was cracking me up She's so funny
- 10:28Speaker 1: in the beginning of the show, even from even when
- 10:30Speaker 1: she got out of the level and her bomb didn't
- 10:32Speaker 1: diffuse like three times in her how and it's just like,
- 10:35Speaker 1: how long are they going to keep this going? I mean,
- 10:37Speaker 1: that was pretty funny.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Well, we connected pretty quickly because we have similar personalities,
- 10:42Speaker 2: and then we had a little issue which they didn't
- 10:45Speaker 2: show as well, but we navigated through that. But I
- 10:49Speaker 2: was surprised that that relationship grew. But then after watching it,
- 10:55Speaker 2: I totally see it. And then Cindy, of course, is
- 10:57Speaker 2: just she's just dear, She's just amazing. But as I said,
- 11:02Speaker 2: if and then there was Debbie, who I love, and
- 11:04Speaker 2: I've said, if Cindy and Peg had a child, it
- 11:07Speaker 2: would be Debbie because Debbie's right in between the two mix.
- 11:12Speaker 2: And Debbie and Peg had a child, it would be
- 11:15Speaker 2: me because I have an unfiltered side of me, and
- 11:19Speaker 2: then I have Debbie is just so sweet and kind.
- 11:23Speaker 2: I have that side, So you know, there was a
- 11:25Speaker 2: big mix in the house. But now I'm not surprised
- 11:30Speaker 2: to see both of the two.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Well, I mean, you know, you know them better than
- 11:45Speaker 1: I do, or better than probably any of the viewers,
- 11:47Speaker 1: I mean, if you had a prediction to make at
- 11:49Speaker 1: this point, I mean, where's your head, right, because we're
- 11:52Speaker 1: coming into this whole thing. If you if you had to,
- 11:54Speaker 1: and you can base it off of whatever, right, Not
- 11:56Speaker 1: if you've heard something, but if you've had conversations with
- 12:00Speaker 1: either of the ladies anytime since. And I'm sure they've
- 12:02Speaker 1: probably kept it on the down low. But you know,
- 12:04Speaker 1: if you had to make a choice as to who
- 12:05Speaker 1: you think moves on and goes to the next level,
- 12:10Speaker 1: do you think there's an engagement? Do you think there's
- 12:12Speaker 1: a proposal, do you think they accept? And who do
- 12:14Speaker 1: you think it is?
- 12:15Speaker 2: Okay, so you want my honest opinion.
- 12:18Speaker 1: I do think you did. That's why you're here.
- 12:21Speaker 2: So I at first thought it would be Cindy. But
- 12:26Speaker 2: now I've been watching it from the last episode, I
- 12:29Speaker 2: think it's going to be pegged. Because I think, this
- 12:33Speaker 2: is my personal opinion, I'm not sure Meil is ready
- 12:38Speaker 2: for an engagement. I think he honestly, I'm taken up
- 12:43Speaker 2: for him. So can we go back to the agism
- 12:45Speaker 2: thing first?
- 12:46Speaker 1: Sure? Sure?
- 12:47Speaker 2: Okay, it that didn't bother me. People might be upset
- 12:51Speaker 2: at me, but it didn't bother me, and I'll tell
- 12:53Speaker 2: you why. I sort of looked him up before I
- 12:57Speaker 2: did the show, right, I kind of want to know
- 12:58Speaker 2: who this guy might be potentially ending up with her kissing,
- 13:02Speaker 2: and he has only been married once his wife his
- 13:06Speaker 2: ex wife is younger, right, Yeah, And honestly, I've dated
- 13:11Speaker 2: younger guys. I'm not a cougar, but I've dated and
- 13:14Speaker 2: that's it. I don't date Wave Patt, I don't date
- 13:17Speaker 2: in the thirties, okay, but Tilla and most guys will
- 13:21Speaker 2: tell me the same thing that they didn't know that
- 13:23Speaker 2: women out there existed like us, that were fit, that
- 13:27Speaker 2: were older, So that's why they don't gravitate towards that.
- 13:31Speaker 2: And with mel being in this relationship for marriage for
- 13:34Speaker 2: so long, I don't think he had any idea, so
- 13:38Speaker 2: I wasn't even upset. I just thought to myself, We're
- 13:41Speaker 2: going to go in there and he's going to be shocked.
- 13:43Speaker 2: And he was shocked, and you know, he probably is
- 13:48Speaker 2: going to end up with someone we hope, right that
- 13:50Speaker 2: is in our group. So I think we did change
- 13:55Speaker 2: his idea of what agism is, so it never bothered me.
- 14:01Speaker 2: And so that that's kind of how I felt in
- 14:05Speaker 2: the house with that, and then you asked the other
- 14:08Speaker 2: what was the other question?
- 14:09Speaker 1: You just said, well, well you were gonna tell me
- 14:10Speaker 1: why why you originally thought it was gonna be Cindy
- 14:13Speaker 1: and now it turned into Peg from the last episode?
- 14:15Speaker 1: Are you thinking because she's just a little more fun?
- 14:18Speaker 1: Is she little more.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Because I felt like Cindy is really ready for a
- 14:23Speaker 2: serious relationship because of the questions that she asked Yah
- 14:27Speaker 2: and Peg, on the other hand, was more relaxed. And
- 14:32Speaker 2: I think Mail is at a point in his life
- 14:34Speaker 2: to where what he wants is someone he can just
- 14:36Speaker 2: really have fun with, enjoy and the potential of it
- 14:40Speaker 2: growing without maybe being pressured into making that decision at
- 14:44Speaker 2: the moment.
- 14:45Speaker 1: I get that. I actually get that a little better.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think personally, I don't think there. I
- 14:51Speaker 2: hope there's not an engagement because I feel like he
- 14:56Speaker 2: actually did the right thing. Listen, I'm not sure that
- 14:59Speaker 2: he was perfect to be the Bachelor because it's reality TV.
- 15:03Speaker 2: And I'll tell you why not because he doesn't talk.
- 15:05Speaker 2: That's not it. It's because he's real and he did
- 15:09Speaker 2: not lead one girl on, not one of us did
- 15:12Speaker 2: he lead on and he's still not leading anybody on,
- 15:15Speaker 2: and I know America's upset because he's not talking to
- 15:17Speaker 2: them like, oh baby, I love you. Now he does
- 15:20Speaker 2: kiss a lot, Okay.
- 15:22Speaker 1: There's nothing wrong with that. I might have had that
- 15:25Speaker 1: same reputation back in the day, so I understand.
- 15:28Speaker 2: I watched you actually, so you know what, what does
- 15:32Speaker 2: that say? But he's been so respectful and I honestly
- 15:35Speaker 2: think that he's very cautious with his words and when
- 15:37Speaker 2: he says it, he's going to mean it. So I'm
- 15:40Speaker 2: sort of proud of him. I mean, I do resonate.
- 15:43Speaker 2: I totally can relate with him because that's kind of
- 15:47Speaker 2: how I am. You know, I kind of held myself
- 15:49Speaker 2: back honestly as a dentist. I was sitting there thinking
- 15:54Speaker 2: my patience, I've got to really behave What are they
- 15:58Speaker 2: going to say? Right? But anyway, so that's that's how
- 16:02Speaker 2: I feel. And I think that'll probably be Peggy in
- 16:05Speaker 2: the end. And I think she said something on the
- 16:07Speaker 2: show about she doesn't go with for the fire, she
- 16:10Speaker 2: goes for the slow burn, which is pertinent to her job.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, And it sounds like it's right right up
- 16:18Speaker 1: Mels Alley too, right, he's like you're saying, you think
- 16:21Speaker 1: he's probably into more of a slow burn right now.
- 16:23Speaker 2: And listen, I would so. I mean watching it back
- 16:28Speaker 2: and watching her take charge of that dune buggy in
- 16:31Speaker 2: his face, it was like a deer with headlights. And
- 16:37Speaker 2: then Cindy the way that she was so sweet to
- 16:40Speaker 2: him when they were in the stingray, you know ocean
- 16:43Speaker 2: with the sting rays. I would I would have been
- 16:47Speaker 2: like him. My daughter had been stuck with the barbs
- 16:50Speaker 2: on the tail.
- 16:51Speaker 1: So hopefully it's brutal.
- 16:53Speaker 2: I totally related to him, but you know, it's kind
- 16:56Speaker 2: of a big, kind of woos kind of and and
- 17:00Speaker 2: he's got this little soft side.
- 17:01Speaker 1: To him, so like a squishy teddy bear.
- 17:05Speaker 2: I think Pig brings out that side of him. And
- 17:09Speaker 2: he can't dance. You would think he could dance. He
- 17:11Speaker 2: can't dance, but he's RELLI nice. So he looks great
- 17:17Speaker 2: in a swim suit.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Yeah he does. Me he's still ripped. I gotta say,
- 17:20Speaker 1: well to that, to all your all's credit, I mean,
- 17:23Speaker 1: I will say, you know, no matter what I mean,
- 17:26Speaker 1: And I was, as you know, because you watched the
- 17:28Speaker 1: season on TRIST. This season I came on I had
- 17:31Speaker 1: just had reconstructive knee surgery all this other stuff. I
- 17:33Speaker 1: was twenty pounds heavier. Then I came back on the
- 17:34Speaker 1: batch and everybody's like, oh wow, he isn't just a
- 17:37Speaker 1: fat hog. You know all of those things. You got
- 17:40Speaker 1: to get in a bathing suits so often on that
- 17:41Speaker 1: damn show. You better be ready for it. So you know,
- 17:44Speaker 1: you all looked great. Mel looked great. I mean he
- 17:47Speaker 1: is still he's still ripped. I bet he could still
- 17:49Speaker 1: get out there and do something of the football.
- 17:50Speaker 2: I will tell you, I forgot that we were going
- 17:52Speaker 2: to be in bathing suits, right, and so I just
- 17:55Speaker 2: threw it in bathing suit. It was from college. And
- 17:58Speaker 2: my daughter, my daughter all the episode, she goes, Mom,
- 18:01Speaker 2: you had that student in college, And I said, I know.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Hey, great that you can fit in it. Right. A
- 18:08Speaker 1: lot of people only say the same thing. Well, all right,
- 18:12Speaker 1: so we we talked earlier. Obviously you made a big splash.
- 18:15Speaker 1: I mean even even Whoopy Goldberg talked about, uh, you
- 18:18Speaker 1: know your partner in crime that you that you walk
- 18:21Speaker 1: around with. And I actually was asking our producers before
- 18:23Speaker 1: the show, I'm like, hey, I just came to realize
- 18:26Speaker 1: I've been looking all over at doctor Lanni's, uh, you know,
- 18:29Speaker 1: interviews and stuff. I've never heard what what your alter
- 18:33Speaker 1: ego's name is or what your what your sidekicks name is?
- 18:36Speaker 1: Does he have a name?
- 18:37Speaker 2: First of all, he's a she.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Oh there you go. I did not know.
- 18:41Speaker 2: All right, she has a boyfriend.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Now, oh my gosh, she's gating doll on.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Women until all just you brought out his puppet and
- 18:48Speaker 2: gave Carly a rose to Her name is Carly, Carly.
- 18:52Speaker 2: I gonna tell you I was more upset because I'm
- 18:56Speaker 2: a pretty good ventriloquist and I was moving my lips
- 18:59Speaker 2: like nobody's business when I was out of the limo,
- 19:02Speaker 2: because I was so damn nervous. And so someone sends
- 19:06Speaker 2: me a clip and it's will Be Goldberg and her sidekicks,
- 19:10Speaker 2: you know, talking about the injury limo exits and off sidekicks. Yeah,
- 19:15Speaker 2: and I was one of them and they just slammed me,
- 19:18Speaker 2: and it just I was laughing, but it sort of
- 19:22Speaker 2: made me mad. I understand that I was more upset
- 19:25Speaker 2: at myself because I was moving my damn lips, and
- 19:28Speaker 2: I thought, yeah, they were right.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Well, I saw an interview of you recently where you
- 19:43Speaker 1: were doing, uh, where you were doing, Carly, and your
- 19:45Speaker 1: lips did not move at all.
- 19:47Speaker 2: My lips very improstum. Yes, and you know everybody thinks.
- 19:51Speaker 2: I had a lot of people online saying, oh, you
- 19:54Speaker 2: should have gotten rid of the damn puppet. Listen, the
- 19:57Speaker 2: puppet was not with me most of the time at all.
- 20:01Speaker 1: I didn't see the puppet at the pool party, by
- 20:03Speaker 1: the way I put.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Her right now. She's been hiding in the closet since
- 20:08Speaker 2: she's been back. She's so upset. But you know, I've
- 20:14Speaker 2: been doing it since that was nine. It's just something fun.
- 20:16Speaker 2: And I thought it would be really cool to slap
- 20:19Speaker 2: him with my puppet to address the agism comment because
- 20:22Speaker 2: I loved it and slapping and that was actually for
- 20:24Speaker 2: all the women in the United States that were upset.
- 20:26Speaker 1: So Carly was basically taking taking. She took it upon
- 20:30Speaker 1: herself to make sure mel knew that America was not
- 20:32Speaker 1: happy with him. Can we can we meet Carly? Can
- 20:34Speaker 1: we actually?
- 20:35Speaker 2: I have her here?
- 20:37Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I'm so excited. We've been talking so
- 20:39Speaker 1: much about her.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Hold on here she is.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Oh my god, Carly, hi, since he too?
- 20:53Speaker 2: Oh you have a boyfriend?
- 20:56Speaker 1: How old? Is Carly.
- 20:58Speaker 2: I don't know how old she is, how old you?
- 21:00Speaker 2: Well do you think you are? I don't know.
- 21:05Speaker 1: There you go twenty so in one year, in a year,
- 21:09Speaker 1: you can go out for cocktails. But until then, Carl,
- 21:12Speaker 1: I'll give you. I'll give you a holler. We'll go
- 21:13Speaker 1: grab a contail in a year. Every time you are
- 21:18Speaker 1: really hot, man, Cary, be careful, behave ye I'm blushing, Carly.
- 21:24Speaker 1: You can't probably can't tell the Oh my goodness. So Carly,
- 21:28Speaker 1: what do you think of Whoopy Goldberg talking about you?
- 21:30Speaker 1: And uh and doctor Terry Alani like that?
- 21:32Speaker 2: You know what she is the troblem? If she would
- 21:37Speaker 2: do that, shut, I wouldn't do in this last literally.
- 21:40Speaker 1: No, you woantn't. That's very true. So you started doing
- 21:45Speaker 1: this at nine? Yeah, and so you, I mean you
- 21:49Speaker 1: brought up your age so I can say you've been
- 21:51Speaker 1: doing Carly has been? Is Carly your only I don't
- 21:55Speaker 1: know how your only doll that you've you've had throughout
- 21:58Speaker 1: that I've got like, but Carly's the favorite.
- 22:02Speaker 2: The way it started is I would do I've got
- 22:05Speaker 2: this really weird creative side to me, and I started
- 22:09Speaker 2: doing puppet shows for all the kids in the neighborhood.
- 22:11Speaker 2: When my kids were little, I would drive them crazy.
- 22:14Speaker 2: I mean, my son still has this damn raccoon that
- 22:16Speaker 2: I bought him because I gave it a voice, and
- 22:18Speaker 2: he won't throw the raccoon away. So then I just
- 22:22Speaker 2: started doing it. I don't know. When I was younger,
- 22:25Speaker 2: I saw it was on the Ed Sullivan Show. There
- 22:28Speaker 2: was just bony doll, and my parents bought me a doll,
- 22:31Speaker 2: and I taught myself and I have putatient sometime and stuff.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Some people find it creepy. I think it's hilarious. Yeah, man,
- 22:40Speaker 2: really funny.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it's very funny. I also love so
- 22:46Speaker 1: we have something in common with You have a therapy
- 22:48Speaker 1: dog that you bring in for some of your younger patients.
- 22:51Speaker 1: And my dog, who just passed away a couple of
- 22:53Speaker 1: years ago, who I just adored, was a therapy dog
- 22:56Speaker 1: and was a service dog. And man, those are such
- 22:59Speaker 1: special little partners, aren't they.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Yes, my dog, pat, My dog's downstairs right now. I rescued.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Her.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Name's Piper, and she you know, she's pat part pit,
- 23:09Speaker 2: part lab, and she basically has been trained. She jumps
- 23:12Speaker 2: on the patient's laps. I mean you might have seen
- 23:14Speaker 2: it on my social media, but yeah, they asked for
- 23:17Speaker 2: She has her own little picture in the office and
- 23:19Speaker 2: people come in and literally ask for her, and she
- 23:22Speaker 2: just blazed there. She's not afraid of the drill. She's
- 23:25Speaker 2: not afraid of anything.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Yeah, my dog, Phoebe. We used to take her into
- 23:29Speaker 1: children's hospitals and shed crime, climbed right up in bed
- 23:32Speaker 1: with the patients. Wouldn't bite the tubes, wouldn't bite the wires,
- 23:36Speaker 1: you know, it just lay there and it was just
- 23:38Speaker 1: she's really special. So I when I saw that about
- 23:41Speaker 1: you and Piper, I thought that was pretty pretty incredible.
- 23:43Speaker 1: And I know that I know the kind of bond
- 23:45Speaker 1: you must have with her. It's pretty spectacular.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Lies. But here's my goal, all right, Bob. My goal
- 23:50Speaker 2: is to get the picture of my dog off my
- 23:53Speaker 2: screen phone and substitute it with a man. That's my
- 23:57Speaker 2: goal because I love dogs.
- 24:00Speaker 1: But it's time. It's time. Yeah, we want, thank you,
- 24:04Speaker 1: the man on that phone, not to be a dog, right,
- 24:06Speaker 1: We wanted to be a good dude. So we're gonna
- 24:08Speaker 1: find that for you. Well, I love I love that
- 24:11Speaker 1: you gave us this time today. Thank you so much
- 24:12Speaker 1: for talking with us, and thanks for allowing yourself to,
- 24:15Speaker 1: you know, open up about some of this stuff. Do
- 24:17Speaker 1: you think coming away from the show, do you think
- 24:20Speaker 1: some of these friendships are gonna last a lifetime for you?
- 24:23Speaker 2: Oh? My gosh. Yeah. So you know, I'm super close
- 24:26Speaker 2: with Roxanne, with Debbie, with Cindy, with Peg and Carol,
- 24:32Speaker 2: and I love all of them. I mean, but and Amy,
- 24:35Speaker 2: and those are the girls that I've just really created
- 24:38Speaker 2: more of a bond with. I don't know it's because
- 24:40Speaker 2: we have more. Oh and Monica Pete. Don't forget Monica.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Oh yeah, of course, he's a dentist.
- 24:44Speaker 2: She's a dentist. The bicep one bicycle. Oh yes, yes,
- 24:51Speaker 2: I mean I like all of them. There's none of them.
- 24:55Speaker 2: There's none of them. I don't consider myself being friends with.
- 24:58Speaker 2: So it is. And you know what the entry part is.
- 25:01Speaker 2: We were only there for a short time, but we
- 25:05Speaker 2: had such an amazing experience, a bond, And people ask
- 25:09Speaker 2: me what I do it again, And the answer is
- 25:11Speaker 2: one thousand percent yes, I would do it again. And
- 25:14Speaker 2: I probably would navigate myself a little bit differently, maybe
- 25:17Speaker 2: be a little bit more vulnerable. But at the end
- 25:19Speaker 2: of the day. I'm really glad who Mail is, you know,
- 25:22Speaker 2: his two remaining cast members are, because you know, I'm
- 25:28Speaker 2: just happy. I'm a sister girl. So if they're all happy,
- 25:32Speaker 2: then I'm going to back up and just let them
- 25:34Speaker 2: shine well.
- 25:36Speaker 1: And I mean, wouldn't you be happy to I mean,
- 25:38Speaker 1: you're at it was, you know, the way that you
- 25:40Speaker 1: were portrayed on the show and the way that you
- 25:41Speaker 1: came off of the show had to be kind of
- 25:44Speaker 1: I would be happy about that if I were you.
- 25:46Speaker 1: You came off obviously very professional, lovely, you know, with
- 25:49Speaker 1: a fun sense of humor and a great bond with
- 25:52Speaker 1: a lot of the ladies. I mean, I think if
- 25:54Speaker 1: you really look back on it, the time served as
- 25:56Speaker 1: far as how long you were there doesn't always tell
- 25:58Speaker 1: the whole story, right, Like there's a lot more to it.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I was. I was surprised at the edit.
- 26:03Speaker 2: I was happy. I don't think they showed my super fun,
- 26:07Speaker 2: fun fund side of me, which you're kind of seeing now.
- 26:09Speaker 2: But the only complaint I had one complaint is in
- 26:14Speaker 2: the Women Tell All, they did edit out the truth,
- 26:18Speaker 2: so we were doing two lies in a truth and
- 26:22Speaker 2: Women Tell All they were doing little snippets of what
- 26:24Speaker 2: we said, and they had a little snippet and I said,
- 26:28Speaker 2: I dated three men in three different cities at the
- 26:31Speaker 2: same time, right, And that's all they showed.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Was that the lie was yes, the reason, but.
- 26:38Speaker 2: I was so quick to say it. So it was
- 26:40Speaker 2: my turn to do two lies and a truth, and
- 26:42Speaker 2: I was so quick to say that. But the truth
- 26:45Speaker 2: was I did the polar plunge in Antarctica. And so
- 26:49Speaker 2: my daughter called me, my friends text me, they go,
- 26:53Speaker 2: we didn't know you did that, and I go, I didn't.
- 26:57Speaker 1: So that was one of the lies.
- 26:59Speaker 2: That was probably the only thing. But other than that, yeah,
- 27:02Speaker 2: I was proud of the edit. I mean, you know
- 27:03Speaker 2: a lot of people go, well, you didn't have a
- 27:05Speaker 2: relationship with Mel at all, but actually Mel and I
- 27:08Speaker 2: got along pretty well, and so, you know, doesn't the
- 27:13Speaker 2: edits don't always show everything. But I think they portrayed
- 27:16Speaker 2: me in a pretty good light, so.
- 27:18Speaker 1: I think so I think they respected the fact that
- 27:20Speaker 1: you were a professional coming on there too, and you know,
- 27:23Speaker 1: nothing on there would have been damaging or you know
- 27:26Speaker 1: how in speaking of which I mean, because you came
- 27:29Speaker 1: off of that show as being such a fun and
- 27:31Speaker 1: and and you know, obviously accomplished person. How's your dating
- 27:35Speaker 1: life been since the show? Like, have you have you
- 27:38Speaker 1: been dating? Have been a low ki?
- 27:41Speaker 2: You know, I'm just so busy right now with my
- 27:42Speaker 2: practice in my life. But I will tell you I
- 27:46Speaker 2: have a lot of people reaching out to me, and
- 27:48Speaker 2: they're all like thirties and forties. That's my son's thirty seven.
- 27:53Speaker 1: That has not happened about's grouse now just so.
- 27:56Speaker 2: And then I have people coming out of the woodwork
- 27:58Speaker 2: that I used to date whatever, And no, that's not
- 28:02Speaker 2: happening either. So yeah, I mean, my what are you dms?
- 28:05Speaker 1: Yeah, they're sliding into your dms.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, but I'm pretty picky and right now I'm
- 28:11Speaker 2: really just kind of enjoying, you know, going through the
- 28:14Speaker 2: season and we'll see what happens. But yeah, I'm super
- 28:19Speaker 2: open to your relationship. That's why I did the darn show.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Right right, right? Yeah, Well, when you got as much
- 28:24Speaker 1: energy as you do, and I mean I think, you know,
- 28:27Speaker 1: probably wouldn't be too far out of the realm of
- 28:30Speaker 1: possibilities to say you might you might end updating a
- 28:32Speaker 1: guy a little bit younger than you. Oh yeah, you know,
- 28:35Speaker 1: I think they probably have to be to keep up
- 28:37Speaker 1: with you, you know.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Yeah, probably in their sixties. I'm available.
- 28:40Speaker 1: So yeah, okay, well, now America knows we're putting it
- 28:43Speaker 1: back out there. Doctor Terry Alani's back on the market.
- 28:46Speaker 1: You don't have to you don't have to have a
- 28:48Speaker 1: date for Carly because she's already taken. Yeah, so you
- 28:51Speaker 1: just need to show up ready to try and handle doctor.
- 28:53Speaker 2: And I won't bring Carly on the date.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Okay, that's good, only my special request, right, Yeah, Well,
- 29:02Speaker 1: thank you. There you go. There's our there's our headline.
- 29:07Speaker 1: I know it now, producers work, We're ready to go. Well,
- 29:12Speaker 1: thank you so much for making the time for us.
- 29:14Speaker 1: It was an absolute pleasure. I think you're probably gonna
- 29:16Speaker 1: I think the next time we talk will be meeting
- 29:18Speaker 1: whoever that special guy is that that you you know
- 29:21Speaker 1: have ended up with. And I've got your prediction here.
- 29:24Speaker 1: I've got that we think it's gonna be Peg, and
- 29:26Speaker 1: yet that you don't think there'll be an engagement, but
- 29:29Speaker 1: you think that he and Peg will date for it.
- 29:31Speaker 2: I don't think there'll be an engagement. I think he
- 29:33Speaker 2: I think he's playing it smart. Yeah, you know, he
- 29:36Speaker 2: hadn't been divorced that long, and that takes a lot
- 29:41Speaker 2: of time to heal and think that he and Peg
- 29:46Speaker 2: will have an amazing relationship and just enjoy like normal
- 29:50Speaker 2: people do.
- 29:51Speaker 1: Right.
- 29:51Speaker 2: It takes time to get to know someone and that's
- 29:54Speaker 2: what I think will happen well.
- 29:56Speaker 1: And it seems like your season filmed pretty quickly too,
- 29:58Speaker 1: like I think normally. I mean, it kind of went
- 30:01Speaker 1: back to the timeframe of when I was doing the show,
- 30:04Speaker 1: when I was the Bachelor of twenty some years ago.
- 30:06Speaker 1: It was like we were there I think a total
- 30:08Speaker 1: of six weeks. That's from beginning all the way to
- 30:11Speaker 1: the very end, you know. And in years past, they've
- 30:14Speaker 1: traveled internationally, they've done all this kind of stuf where
- 30:16Speaker 1: the whole cast goes and you know, and so they're
- 30:19Speaker 1: out there for a little bit longer than that. But
- 30:20Speaker 1: I mean, this one was a was a real fast season.
- 30:24Speaker 2: Yeah, half of us for half of us were eliminated,
- 30:27Speaker 2: you know, in the first two episodes, so it was
- 30:31Speaker 2: you know. The only regret I have is I wish
- 30:34Speaker 2: that most of us had been shown more of how
- 30:37Speaker 2: we were living in the house in our conversations. There
- 30:40Speaker 2: were so many beautiful moments. Yeah, and you know, it's
- 30:45Speaker 2: just the way it was, it was produced, so it's
- 30:47Speaker 2: all good. I mean, I'm happy for the outcome. And
- 30:50Speaker 2: I can't believe it's been twenty years since you've been
- 30:53Speaker 2: the Bachelor.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Yeah twenty two, actually, isn't that crazy?
- 30:56Speaker 2: You still look young?
- 30:58Speaker 1: Thank you? Well me, doctor Taire, maybe I'm taking after
- 31:00Speaker 1: you a little bit. I mean, you surely don't. You
- 31:03Speaker 1: surely don't look seventy two. And I think you know
- 31:06Speaker 1: your accomplishments. I mean, and not that seventy two looks
- 31:10Speaker 1: like anything specifically.
- 31:12Speaker 2: Now, hey, look I get it. Listen for me. I
- 31:15Speaker 2: thought people you know were all bent over and step
- 31:17Speaker 2: after fifty so they lost all their teeth after fifty.
- 31:21Speaker 2: So it doesn't even phaze me. I mean, I'm just
- 31:26Speaker 2: I hope I can be a role model for a
- 31:28Speaker 2: lot of women to say, hey, you just keep and
- 31:30Speaker 2: I'm still practicing. Just keep that energy, keep that attitude,
- 31:34Speaker 2: and you can really go far, you know, in your
- 31:37Speaker 2: golden years. That's what it's all.
- 31:39Speaker 1: And you've made a big difference in your community already
- 31:41Speaker 1: with being the Texas tooth Lady, and then also of course,
- 31:45Speaker 1: you know, getting a little profile on a national television
- 31:47Speaker 1: show doesn't hurt to show people who you are, and
- 31:50Speaker 1: you've done a great job with it. So congratulations on
- 31:52Speaker 1: such a great run with the Golden Series and I
- 31:55Speaker 1: wish you nothing but happiness and the best.
- 31:57Speaker 2: All Right, I enjoyed it.
- 31:59Speaker 1: Thank you, Thank you doctor Terry, Thanks Carly,
