- 0:26Speaker 3: Everybody knows tune in turn up in the latest shows
- 0:30Speaker 3: Orts govern this year Washington has.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Growth stats and facts.
- 0:34Speaker 1: He's bringing the fire, discussing the legends who we all
- 0:37Speaker 1: ad maya from the hometown teams to international wire. Then's
- 0:41Speaker 1: got the school taking the sign.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Yeah, running down the field, breaking all the news from
- 0:46Speaker 3: victory sweet to the bit of blues analysis so sharp,
- 0:50Speaker 3: cutting du to rules.
- 0:51Speaker 1: He's got the insight, trust me, no excuse or stem fight.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Got the NUIs flows and so the mic everybody knows.

- 1:03Speaker 3: The next, Yeah, running down the field, breaking all the
- 1:17Speaker 3: news from the three Street to the field of loose analysis.
- 1:21Speaker 3: So shock coming from stepping in sight, trust excuse, sports
- 1:26Speaker 3: done right, whether shows some everybody turned out here and
- 1:33Speaker 3: they show sportsnting the ship Washington had to show.
- 1:46Speaker 1: What's not your growth?
- 1:52Speaker 2: All right, everybody, what is going on? Vince Right, Sports
- 1:56Speaker 2: Done Right, the sports governor of Minnesota, the big move
- 2:00Speaker 2: one coming back to you live in direct from the
- 2:05Speaker 2: Twin Cities Minneapolis St. Paul on a very very toasty
- 2:09Speaker 2: Tuesday night, sitting out on the patio at the Executive
- 2:13Speaker 2: Mansion and lots popping off NA NHL with a huge
- 2:19Speaker 2: shaker coming out of Vegas and they are.
- 2:24Speaker 4: The New York Knicks. Look at that New York Nicks.
- 2:28Speaker 2: And first off, Sports Done Right got to give out
- 2:31Speaker 2: the proper shoutouts. Brought to you by Seventh Avenue Pizza,
- 2:35Speaker 2: the best frozen pizza in the state of Minnesota.
- 2:37Speaker 4: And what I love about it is.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Now you can find Seventh Avenue pretty much everywhere you
- 2:42Speaker 2: go for your frozen pizza needs. It's all about the ingredients.
- 2:46Speaker 2: You hear me saying get you some all the time.
- 2:48Speaker 2: But it really is, in my opinion, the best frozen
- 2:51Speaker 2: pizza out there. No disrespect to the other brands, there's
- 2:54Speaker 2: a lot of good frozen pizzas out there. Minnesota has
- 2:57Speaker 2: been known as kind of the hot bed and pizza,
- 3:00Speaker 2: but Seventh Avenue. Like I said, for me, just a
- 3:03Speaker 2: little bit better ingredients. Love the sausage, pepperoni. Make sure
- 3:08Speaker 2: you support Seventh Avenue and all their lines and all
- 3:13Speaker 2: the breakfast pizza. Gotta love that breakfast pizza as well. Man,
- 3:16Speaker 2: if you didn't, if you have not tried the breakfast pizza,
- 3:19Speaker 2: that is when you gotta get on your list. So
- 3:22Speaker 2: shout out to Matt and the crew over there. All right,
- 3:25Speaker 2: let's get into it. I'm gonna start with the New
- 3:28Speaker 2: York Knicks because they are the New York Knicks. They
- 3:32Speaker 2: are back in the finals. Congratulations to them. Nothing but
- 3:36Speaker 2: ass whippings all series long. They sweep the Cleveland Cavaliers
- 3:42Speaker 2: last night they win one thirty to ninety three. And
- 3:47Speaker 2: you know what I like about the New York Knicks is,
- 3:50Speaker 2: you know, let's start with Kat because everybody in Minnesota
- 3:53Speaker 2: is now jumping on wishing and ay, we all wish
- 3:57Speaker 2: Cat the best.
- 3:59Speaker 4: We hope he gets the championship. That's great and all
- 4:01Speaker 4: that stuff.
- 4:02Speaker 2: But some people out there act like Kat still plays
- 4:05Speaker 2: for the Timberwolves, and you know, by proxy, somehow this
- 4:09Speaker 2: is a Minnesota sports story.
- 4:11Speaker 4: Now I get it.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Minnesota curse all these athletes that have left Minnesota that
- 4:16Speaker 2: have gone on to win championships, Kevin Love, Kevin gartnet
- 4:20Speaker 2: On it goes. You know, we can spend all day
- 4:22Speaker 2: talking about all the sports stars that I've left here
- 4:25Speaker 2: and won. But let's just wish Carl the best without
- 4:31Speaker 2: it getting two out of hands, because yeah, you go
- 4:34Speaker 2: on Twitter and it's it's been very interesting. But congrats
- 4:37Speaker 2: to Carl. And what I like about kat now is
- 4:40Speaker 2: he's not necessarily the main focus and how they're using them.
- 4:45Speaker 2: You know, he's playing a little bit closer. You know,
- 4:47Speaker 2: he's out there three point land two, but he's playing
- 4:50Speaker 2: a little bit closer to the rim, which I personally love,
- 4:54Speaker 2: you know, being an old school basketball guy, I'd like
- 4:57Speaker 2: to see sinners playing down in that low po And
- 5:01Speaker 2: you know, he's I think he's probably got a little
- 5:04Speaker 2: pressure taken off of him, to be perfectly honest with you,
- 5:07Speaker 2: So congrats to him. Man, he had nineteen points. Let's
- 5:13Speaker 2: see who else. Jalen Brunson had fifteen, O Cal Bridges
- 5:18Speaker 2: had fifteen.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Just very even balance.
- 5:22Speaker 2: And I know there's been a few people out there
- 5:24Speaker 2: talking about Jalen Brunson and lack of defense, I mean, honestly,
- 5:29Speaker 2: hasn't really had to probably play a whole lot in
- 5:31Speaker 2: the Cleveland series.
- 5:33Speaker 4: But you know it's good.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Now you gotta deal with the obnoxious Knicks fans now,
- 5:38Speaker 2: as you are seeing on social media, then those folks
- 5:43Speaker 2: are crazy. But it is the Finals, it's New York City.
- 5:47Speaker 2: I guess what else is to be expected? And we're
- 5:49Speaker 2: gonna see because the Knicks now have not lost the
- 5:53Speaker 2: game in a very long time in the playoffs, coming
- 5:56Speaker 2: off of a dominating series against Cleveland, and you know,
- 6:01Speaker 2: Cleveland's got some stuff to figure out too.
- 6:03Speaker 4: Was you know, everybody was.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Talking about how you know, maybe not bringing Harden it
- 6:07Speaker 2: or bringing Harden in was not the best move. We'll
- 6:12Speaker 2: save that argument for a different day because right now
- 6:15Speaker 2: it's really just focusing on the Knicks and who will
- 6:19Speaker 2: they play next, because tonight, well you gotta love it,
- 6:25Speaker 2: because tonight Oklahoma City, they inch one game away from
- 6:32Speaker 2: getting back to the finals. They take a three to
- 6:34Speaker 2: two lead with a convincing, if not a little little
- 6:39Speaker 2: honoree at the end there one twenty seven one fourteen
- 6:43Speaker 2: went over the Spurs tonight down in Oklahoma City, and
- 6:48Speaker 2: let's see here.
- 6:49Speaker 4: Going through the roll call.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Here Sga thirty two points, leading the way. Chat Holmgren
- 6:56Speaker 2: had sixteen points, and let's pause here and talk.
- 6:59Speaker 4: A little bit about at home Gren.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Obviously, the Minnesota stud already got a championship, and we
- 7:06Speaker 2: love that for him. Good dude, everybody loves chet Holgren.
- 7:10Speaker 2: But he has been intimidated by Winby in this series.
- 7:15Speaker 2: And he's not even guarding Winby and they have somebody
- 7:20Speaker 2: else guarding him, you know a lot of times a
- 7:23Speaker 2: guarter forward, and chet Holgren just has to remember, hey man,
- 7:27Speaker 2: you're seven feet tall. Just go dominate. Don't be scared
- 7:31Speaker 2: of taking the ball to the whole. There's a couple
- 7:33Speaker 2: times where he was on his way to the hole.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Not a lot of people do this too, but you know,
- 7:38Speaker 2: instead of just going up strong, kick the ball out
- 7:41Speaker 2: the three point land and chet Holmgren's too good for that.
- 7:45Speaker 4: So he just has to realize.
- 7:47Speaker 2: And you know, hey, Winby's a skinny dude too, he's
- 7:50Speaker 2: just a little bit taller. But you gotta go in
- 7:52Speaker 2: there and you gotta send a message. You know, you
- 7:56Speaker 2: are the champion, your team is defending him champions and
- 8:03Speaker 2: going there tonight because yeah, tonight Wimby as I flip
- 8:06Speaker 2: over twenty points four fifteen from the field though, and
- 8:12Speaker 2: no three pointers. He was twelve from twelve from the
- 8:14Speaker 2: charity stripe, so that's where he made good. But yeah,
- 8:19Speaker 2: Chet Holmgren, I think, you know, just got to kind
- 8:22Speaker 2: of find that confidence again and you know, get back
- 8:25Speaker 2: to playing some awesome defense. You can get that offense.
- 8:29Speaker 2: You know, sixteen points is all right, but you know,
- 8:32Speaker 2: throw up a couple more. But tonight ken Rich Williams
- 8:38Speaker 2: was the man coming off the bench, three for three,
- 8:42Speaker 2: two for two for three point land, you know, got
- 8:46Speaker 2: some rebounds and yeah, just you know, showing that you
- 8:50Speaker 2: need that depth off the bench and a championship team.
- 8:53Speaker 2: That's what happens when players are called upon, they come
- 8:57Speaker 2: in and win. It counts most, they find a way,
- 9:00Speaker 2: you know, and that's what happened tonight. So shout out
- 9:03Speaker 2: to kim Rich Williams. Game well done there and Oklahoma City,
- 9:09Speaker 2: like I said, they're poised now going back to San
- 9:11Speaker 2: Antonio Thursday night and they better get it done. Better
- 9:20Speaker 2: get it done, and then you know you're gonna have
- 9:24Speaker 2: a couple of days off. So yeah, New York Knicks
- 9:26Speaker 2: are sitting pretty because they're resting right now, sitting at home,
- 9:30Speaker 2: feeling good about themselves, and let's just see if Okase
- 9:35Speaker 2: can actually close this out or san Antonio goes home,
- 9:40Speaker 2: gets that win, takes it to Game seven, in which
- 9:42Speaker 2: obviously anything can happen.
- 9:47Speaker 4: For the Spurs.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Tonight, like I said, Wimby, you know, by his standards,
- 9:52Speaker 2: not really a factor. Yeah, it was just kind of
- 9:58Speaker 2: a disappointing game for san Anto. They did have a
- 10:01Speaker 2: couple runs late in the game that you know, they
- 10:05Speaker 2: they bid into these leads, got it down to single
- 10:09Speaker 2: digits at one point, but just couldn't do it. Tonight,
- 10:12Speaker 2: did not have the gas and they just could not
- 10:17Speaker 2: get it done. And the thing with San Antonio, they're
- 10:21Speaker 2: still young. You know, there's still a young team. So
- 10:25Speaker 2: despite having the all world talent at center and Victor
- 10:28Speaker 2: Winbinyamba and I think he's gonna be phenomenal long as
- 10:31Speaker 2: he doesn't get injured, but they still are a young
- 10:34Speaker 2: team and they are figuring some things out as well.
- 10:38Speaker 2: And that's the other thing that we have to remember also,
- 10:41Speaker 2: So it's gonna be a fun game Thursday night. I
- 10:45Speaker 2: cannot wait to watch it. And you know, I Honestly,
- 10:50Speaker 2: I've really been entertained for the most part by the
- 10:53Speaker 2: NBA playoffs and obviously disappointed our Timberwolves are not in there.
- 11:01Speaker 2: But yeah, we'll see what happened. Oh and speaking of which,
- 11:05Speaker 2: because you know the Randall I don't want to say
- 11:08Speaker 2: the Randall hate, but let's just say people are definitely
- 11:12Speaker 2: in the mood for him not to be on the
- 11:13Speaker 2: team next year. It's gonna be very interesting to just
- 11:19Speaker 2: see what happens because we still got to get a
- 11:23Speaker 2: you know, if you want to call it a general manager,
- 11:26Speaker 2: vice president of player operations, whatever the Timberwolves call it.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Remember they still have to hire for that position still
- 11:33Speaker 2: and get some things figured out because it ain't working.
- 11:39Speaker 2: It ain't working. And you know you heard me on
- 11:42Speaker 2: my last showing you I've talked about it before. I'm
- 11:45Speaker 2: kind of out on Rudy as well. You know, I
- 11:48Speaker 2: understand he's one on the defensive player of the year,
- 11:52Speaker 2: but for me, he's just not really helping us a
- 11:56Speaker 2: whole lot. And I am definitely up for getting rid
- 12:01Speaker 2: of Rudy Gobert as well. Jumping over to hockey real
- 12:06Speaker 2: quick here on the Sports Done Right podcast, as we're
- 12:08Speaker 2: just going to keep it going. Nice quick show tonight,
- 12:12Speaker 2: touching base with you, like I said, the City of Hockey,
- 12:15Speaker 2: Las Vegas Golden Knights Cole Smith mark Stone with the
- 12:21Speaker 2: goals two to one. Colorado tried to make it interesting
- 12:25Speaker 2: late in the third period where they got a goal
- 12:27Speaker 2: that was deflected past the Vegas goaltender to make it
- 12:30Speaker 2: two to one. But the Vegas Golden Nights hold on
- 12:34Speaker 2: two to one. They are going back to the finals.
- 12:39Speaker 2: And you know up here Minnesota quote unquote state of Hockey,
- 12:43Speaker 2: and it's just kind of so odd now to see
- 12:46Speaker 2: these warm weather locations, you know, state of Florida, what
- 12:50Speaker 2: they five Stanley Cups or something between Tampa Bay and
- 12:53Speaker 2: the and the Panthers. You know, this is Vegas's third
- 12:58Speaker 2: trip in nine years, by the way, that is that's phenomenal.
- 13:03Speaker 2: And they beat the Colorado Avalanche we thought was unbeatable
- 13:07Speaker 2: when they took out the Minnesota wild and oh, by
- 13:11Speaker 2: the way, swept the Colorado Avalanche. So nothing but mad
- 13:18Speaker 2: props for the Las Vegas Golden Knights. As yeah, they're
- 13:22Speaker 2: they're going back to the Stanley Cup. Carolina Montreal one
- 13:26Speaker 2: of those teams will.
- 13:27Speaker 4: Take them on.
- 13:29Speaker 2: But you gotta give nothing but love to Las Vegas, man,
- 13:32Speaker 2: because they earned it. Kind of, you know, towards the
- 13:35Speaker 2: end of the season, kind of it seemed like they
- 13:37Speaker 2: were back back dooring themselves into the playoffs, weren't playing
- 13:42Speaker 2: all that well. And I'm gonna tell you something, man,
- 13:45Speaker 2: this is this is just impressive. Nobody saw this coming.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Nobody could have anticipated. Nobody was saying that the you know,
- 13:53Speaker 2: Las Vegas Golden Knights was gonna sweep the Colorado Avalanche,
- 13:58Speaker 2: and until you actually saw it happened, well, there it is,
- 14:04Speaker 2: there it is. Yeah, this is gonna be a very
- 14:12Speaker 2: interesting finals. And you know, you got Montreal, capital of hockey,
- 14:19Speaker 2: you know, just waiting to get back that you talk
- 14:21Speaker 2: about a fan base, and you know, Eastern Canada, the
- 14:25Speaker 2: province of Quebec about to go wild if Montreal can
- 14:30Speaker 2: find their way back. And then there's Carolina, Carolina getting
- 14:33Speaker 2: one of those warm weather locales that has a very
- 14:37Speaker 2: good hockey team and poise to get another look at
- 14:40Speaker 2: Stanley Cup themselves as well. So tough for the Minnesota
- 14:45Speaker 2: hockey fans, I know, tough for this Chicago Blackhawk fan
- 14:50Speaker 2: and Minnesota Wild fan is my second favorite team. So
- 14:53Speaker 2: I feel the pain, but you gotta respect what these
- 14:57Speaker 2: these franchises are doing because they are winning and they
- 15:00Speaker 2: are well. Just like I said, definitely getting it done there.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Touching based on Minnesota Vikings here in the Sports Done
- 15:09Speaker 2: Right podcast again Vince Wright, the sports Governor coming to
- 15:12Speaker 2: you Ota started today. Both quarterbacks out there, JJ Kyler Murray,
- 15:19Speaker 2: both tossing the rock. Both had their moments obviously day one,
- 15:24Speaker 2: not going to take a whole lot into it, but
- 15:26Speaker 2: it is very good to see that there is going
- 15:29Speaker 2: to be a competition. Let the best man win because
- 15:33Speaker 2: you got to keep j Jefferson happy and keep him
- 15:38Speaker 2: wanting to stay here and see if we can build
- 15:41Speaker 2: this thing up. One other note on the Vikings, be interested.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Nobody's really heard from Harrison Smith. Is he retired? Is
- 15:47Speaker 2: he not retired? Stay tuned. Who knows? Outside of that?
- 15:56Speaker 2: Not a lot happening so much this week. I'm going
- 15:59Speaker 2: to touch base next week. Like I said, Minnesota Timberwolves
- 16:03Speaker 2: got some decisions to make in the off Season's gonna
- 16:05Speaker 2: be interesting to see what happens there in terms of
- 16:09Speaker 2: bringing in the GM or vice president of Basketball Operations,
- 16:13Speaker 2: whoever that's going to be, and just taking a look
- 16:16Speaker 2: at the moves that need to be made or should
- 16:20Speaker 2: be made here in the offseason as well. Vikings, like
- 16:24Speaker 2: I said, very interested in this quarterback competition, so that's
- 16:28Speaker 2: gonna be fun to watch and see what happens there.
- 16:32Speaker 4: And we are off from running Minnesota Twins.
- 16:36Speaker 2: I guess, yeah, win some games, lose a lot of games.
- 16:42Speaker 4: Rough one to watch, but it is what it is.
- 16:46Speaker 2: And I will say this. In the American League, the
- 16:54Speaker 2: Tampa Bay Rays off to a nice start out in
- 16:58Speaker 2: the East, two and a half games over the year. Yankees,
- 17:00Speaker 2: they're thirty four and eighteen. The Central well, you know,
- 17:04Speaker 2: Central's always just kind of whole hum. But the Cleveland's
- 17:07Speaker 2: on top at thirty two and twenty five, three and
- 17:10Speaker 2: a half games over the Chicago White Sox, four games
- 17:13Speaker 2: ahead of the Twins. I mean, Twins are.
- 17:15Speaker 4: Twenty seven and twenty eight.
- 17:17Speaker 2: But again, you you know, come on, you just don't
- 17:19Speaker 2: have that vibe that they're really gonna do anything, at
- 17:21Speaker 2: least not right now. So again, see what happens. The
- 17:25Speaker 2: Tigers bringing up the basement in the American League Central
- 17:29Speaker 2: out in the West, the whoever Athletics, Sacramento Vegas, whoever,
- 17:36Speaker 2: you want to say, twenty seven and twenty eight. However,
- 17:40Speaker 2: they're in first place out there, half a game ahead
- 17:42Speaker 2: of Seattle, game and a half over the Rangers, Houston
- 17:48Speaker 2: only three and a half. Album Angels six out. Angels
- 17:52Speaker 2: probably won't be a factor yet again and Mike Trout, Yeah,
- 17:56Speaker 2: what you're doing, man, hanging out out there? See what happens.
- 18:01Speaker 2: National League Braves thirty seven and eighteen there on top
- 18:04Speaker 2: of the East, eight and a half clear of the
- 18:06Speaker 2: Washington Nationals. Over in the Central, the Brewers, the Cardinals,
- 18:11Speaker 2: and the Reds all within four games of each other,
- 18:13Speaker 2: with the Brewers leading that division.
- 18:16Speaker 4: And of course the Los.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Angeles Dodgers out there in the National League West doing
- 18:22Speaker 2: their thing three and a half clear of the San
- 18:25Speaker 2: Diego Padres, the Arizona Diamondbacks four and a half back
- 18:29Speaker 2: as well.
- 18:30Speaker 4: So with that, we're gonna wrap up the show.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Just wanted to get in here, get a couple thoughts
- 18:36Speaker 2: out tonight. We will be back here in a few
- 18:38Speaker 2: days on the Sports un Right podcast. As we got
- 18:41Speaker 2: everything heating up, we're getting towards the NBA finals, Stanley
- 18:45Speaker 2: Cup Finals. Hopefully the Twins can start heating up and
- 18:49Speaker 2: getting our interest back in some things as well. We'll
- 18:52Speaker 2: touch based on the Minnesota links next week as well.
- 18:55Speaker 2: So with that being said, I am Vince right, the
- 18:58Speaker 2: Sports Governor. Big shout out again the Seventh Avenue Pizza
- 19:02Speaker 2: for their sponsorship of the show. Very much appreciated. Get
- 19:06Speaker 2: you some at many many locations around the Upper Midwest.
- 19:11Speaker 4: Well I am out of here. Take care peace.
- 19:17Speaker 2: You can get your sports scattered, smothered or covered, but
- 19:21Speaker 2: why would you when you can get your sports done right.
