0:01
Hey, guys, welcome to the live stream.
0:03
Welcome to the basement. Gold and silver are a big just
0:06
as we expected. We're going to talk about the
0:08
latest breaking news. Most importantly, why in the
0:12
long run, we have much, much higher silver and gold prices
0:15
are going to skyrocket there, I said it, OK, But there's a lot
0:19
of noise, including noise that we got last night that we
0:23
predicted will cover that. There's going to be a lot more
0:26
noise in the coming weeks and months, but we're going to talk
0:29
about why the big picture, the big factor that means we are a
0:34
OK when it comes to silver and gold and we're a OK when you
0:38
decide to join me down here in the basement.
0:41
What an honor, what a privilege that you're here.
0:44
Please subscribe to the channel, give the video a thumbs up.
0:48
Those are both free. And if you want to invest a
0:50
little time, type out a comment in the comments section.
0:54
You can say whatever you want about me, all right, but
0:57
preferably something that we can learn from from you.
1:00
We got the smartest people ever that are basement dwellers here.
1:03
OK, so yesterday on the live stream we talked about, I said
1:08
that I thought likely what we would see is some form of a
1:12
quote UN quote truce that would happen and that that could send
1:16
the price of gold and silver skyrocketing.
1:18
That's exactly what happened. Of course, I'm like you, right?
1:22
I had that strong notion, but I didn't make a a big bet.
1:25
I didn't buy any call options on SLV or do anything like that.
1:29
I'm a long term investor. But it did work out exactly like
1:33
we said. Now, big warning, OK, I got a
1:36
big warning for you about what we might experience in the
1:39
coming months, but let's just run out, man.
1:41
There's so much going on and take a look at the latest that's
1:45
happening right now in these markets.
1:47
You know what, let's go look at the silver futures price and we
1:52
can see that we are currently at $75.55.
1:58
That's the May contract. So silver up in the futures
2:02
market almost 5%. Let's check on gold while we're
2:06
out here. Gold price up $90.00 per oz,
2:09
4000, almost $4800 per oz. I'm sure we breached that level
2:15
some point here in the recent past.
2:18
While we're out here, let's go look at the US dollar index.
2:22
Wow, down huge. That's a massive move down in
2:25
the US dollar index at 99. Now again, guys, please be
2:31
prepared because but just like yesterday, I predicted, I'm not
2:35
always right. I'm not taking a victory lap,
2:37
but I predicted exactly what would happen here over the the
2:41
coming two days. I think that we are in a little
2:44
more precarious position than a lot of us think we are regarding
2:48
this truce. And I'm going to tell you, I did
2:51
have a conversation with a friend of mine this morning from
2:54
Tel Aviv, Tel Aviv, Israel. I'll give you his perspective as
2:58
well. We got a lot going on, but let's
3:00
just run out to Zero Hedge and get the latest on what's
3:04
happening with the ceasefire, the truce.
3:08
It says Iran ceasefire is extremely fragile as Trump
3:13
highlights discrepancy in 10 points direct talks planned,
3:17
quote, UN quote, soon in Pakistan.
3:19
And there's all kinds of, you know, then that's what we said
3:21
yesterday. They're going to come out with
3:23
something that allows us to declare victory.
3:26
Iran is declaring victory. But this is still a very dicey
3:30
situation. I actually had that word written
3:33
down to describe this fragile. I'd also say, say shaky, like my
3:38
voice sometimes, and brittle like when you get old.
3:43
OK, I don't want to be negative, but we need to be realistic
3:46
about what's going on here. But there's a big reason why
3:49
this is all a bunch of noise. So now apparently they're
3:53
letting some ships through. But then they're not letting
3:56
some ships through. Apparently, they're still,
4:01
there's a lot going on. OK.
4:03
So just be prepared for short term noise.
4:05
We are going to talk about why we're OK in the long run.
4:08
But I also spoke this morning with a friend of mine, a
4:12
business associate in Tel Aviv, Israel.
4:16
He said that he thought it was over in terms of the United
4:20
States from bombing activity, war activity in the Middle East.
4:24
Israel is still bombing. Who is it?
4:27
Lebanon to to the north and he said that it's going to be
4:31
there's going to be a lot of rearranging that's going to go
4:33
on in the area, but that it but that he thought that the United
4:37
States was done with our big campaign.
4:40
Look, he doesn't have a crystal ball.
4:41
I don't have a crystal ball. I think what we do know is that
4:44
this is a very fragile situation right now.
4:49
And let's go look at, let's look at the oil price.
4:52
And then and then we got a lot more to cover here, guys.
4:55
This happened last night, OK? Oil, of course, collapsed.
4:59
Oil crashed 16% last night from 110 to $93 in just 60 minutes.
5:06
One of the largest, if not the largest hourly drop in oil price
5:12
in history. And there was something else I
5:15
wanted to show you as well. Man, there's just so much going
5:17
on right now. Let's talk about why from a big
5:22
picture perspective, again, so critical for us to understand.
5:27
We had good noise last night. We like it, right?
5:30
Silver was up what, 5 dollars, $6 at one point.
5:33
Now in the spot markets up $3 up bigger as measured in the
5:38
futures market. But but, but the big thing to
5:42
remember, this is all short term noise.
5:45
Hopefully you as an investor in silver and gold and precious
5:49
metal mining stocks have a little broader horizon than what
5:53
happens on a day-to-day basis. The big key thing to remember
5:58
about what's going on right now is that the ship has sailed and
6:02
we're not talking about ships going through the Straits of
6:05
Hormuz. What we're talking about is the
6:08
inflation ship. What we're talking about is, and
6:12
everybody that I'm talking to says this, that the economy in a
6:16
lot of ways materially slowed down over the last five or six
6:20
weeks. We've got a slowing economy and
6:24
at the same time, right, the inflation, the cat is out of the
6:27
bag when it comes to inflation. We are going to have much higher
6:32
inflation and that's under the best of circumstances.
6:34
Remember, right, everybody was saying that the, that the, the
6:39
top analysts were telling us that the effects of the higher
6:42
oil prices and the effects on the supply chain for oil hadn't
6:46
really been felt yet. OK, This was like the initial
6:49
shock we were living off the, the, the, the, the surplus of
6:53
oil that was in the world, the stores, the, the reserves that
6:58
were out there. Now as we move into the next 6
7:01
to 9 months the the repercussions of what it what it
7:04
what has happened will hit the world economy and the world
7:08
economy is still so interconnected.
7:10
The cat is out of the bag. I wish Susie would let me take
7:13
one of our cats and pull him out of the bag.
7:16
We are going to have inflation and inflation no matter how you
7:19
slice it or dice it. At the end of the day when the
7:23
hens come home to roost, OK. When the when you take the apple
7:28
pie out of the oven, however you want to say it, inflation will
7:31
drive the gold and silver prices higher and higher.
7:35
Inflation don't. You can get real complicated.
7:39
I always try to keep it simple down here in the basement
7:41
because the most powerful concepts are always the most
7:45
simple. Inflation and, and the, and the
7:48
devaluation of the US dollar are the same thing.
7:52
They're they're the, they're the head and the tail on the same
7:56
coin. They're part of the same
7:57
concept. When inflation goes up, that
8:00
means the value of the dollar is going down.
8:03
And if we're going to choose to measure the value of our silver
8:06
and gold in U.S. dollars, guys, we are in for an incredible,
8:11
incredible 1970s style run in the silver and gold price.
8:16
Now, I'm not a financial advisor, right?
8:18
I'm just giving you what I know. And I see very clearly it's not
8:22
that complicated. It's very simple.
8:25
Oh, and by the way, you can also look back at 5000 years of
8:28
history and see the same thing. On that note, I'm not a
8:31
financial advisor, but I love silver and I love getting silver
8:35
from channel sponsor First Men. The premium retail experience
8:40
for silver investors, They're in Las Vegas, NV.
8:44
They get their silver from the company that owns them, First
8:47
Majestic Silver. Literally you get silver that
8:50
goes from the mine to the mint directly to you.
8:55
Truly the freshest silver on the market.
8:58
I'm going to have a new piece, hopefully here in the next few
9:00
days that's on its way that I'm going to be able to share with
9:03
you. They have some incredible
9:04
products, a great pricing, great selection, great service and
9:08
great feedback from you, the basement dweller community.
9:12
I also want to say thank you to Brixton Metals for sponsoring
9:15
Ron's Basement. They're a Canadian metals
9:18
exploration company. Big projects in Canada and the
9:22
United States, all super safe jurisdictions.
9:25
You're talking copper, gold, silver, nickel, great company
9:29
and and and they're doing some wonderful they're having work
9:33
done drilling at all four of those projects and of course,
9:37
wrong hand first mining gold beat Canadian gold developer
9:41
with two huge multi million ounce projects gold in the
9:45
ground in Canada, another great jurisdiction right and they are
9:50
working through the development stage on both of those projects
9:54
spring pull in Ontario and Du Parquet located in Quebec.
9:57
Now let's talk more silver and gold guys.
10:01
It's just it never ends. Here's here's a couple of fun
10:04
charts that'll put big smiles. This one will put big smiles on
10:08
the face of silver investors. The happy Hawaiian, the
10:14
notorious happy Hawaiian points this out.
10:16
The gold to silver ratio is breaking down hard now.
10:21
Very important to remember that as a silver investor, when the
10:25
gold and silver ratio, gold 20, you know, I think I'm not Thank
10:31
you. Hold on, that was upstairs.
10:35
Susie, my lovely wife and assistant who talks to us on our
10:38
walkie-talkie. Everybody say hi to her.
10:40
Saving the day. I will now share the proper
10:43
screen from the notorious Happy Hawaiian.
10:46
Let's give him his credit. There he is right there, Mr.
10:49
Happy Hawaiian. When the gold to silver ratio
10:52
goes down, that means it takes less ounces of silver to buy one
10:58
ounce of gold. OK.
11:00
So when it drops like it is doing right now, that's a good
11:04
thing. But it's dropping, as you can
11:06
see on this chart, out of our favorite technical analysis
11:11
tool, a wedge pattern, OK? And as it drops down further and
11:16
further, that will mean that the price of silver and it goes,
11:20
that the ratio goes down when the price of silver goes up, OK,
11:25
relative to gold. So gold can still go up, but if
11:30
silver goes up even faster, which is the real green sky
11:34
scenario, that that means that the silver price is
11:37
outperforming and doing very well right now.
11:41
Looks like here we were at about 62 when this meaning you needed
11:45
62 ounces of silver to get one ounce of gold.
11:48
That number in recent times has been as low as 30 and throughout
11:52
history has been as low as 5 to 1/6 to 112 to one in that area
11:57
as well. Just some good happy news when
11:59
it comes to the to the gold and silver ratio.
12:03
Now this is interesting. The dude, we haven't looked at
12:06
this in a while, he gives us the data that the silver market,
12:11
paper silver market traded 251 million paper oz yesterday.
12:16
Remember guys, that's still almost 1/3 right of the entire
12:22
world's silver mining output for a whole year.
12:26
In one day, the paper market trades almost a third of what
12:30
the entire world can produce in a year.
12:32
The COMEX had 138 deliveries, the LBMA 111.
12:37
So Trump not attacking Iran is good for silver?
12:41
Now this is the interesting part.
12:43
Naked shorts are throwing ammo at oil instead of silver
12:48
futures. And I kind of got a kick out of
12:50
that. Right?
12:50
Like once they had a chance to attack the oil price, which they
12:55
did in earnest, they left silver alone for a little bit.
12:59
Eventually, the paper market and not eventually, we're in that
13:04
process right now where the paper market is losing more and
13:08
more and more of its credibility on a day by day basis.
13:12
And don't forget that 1974 memo that we just looked at 2 days
13:16
ago between London and New York in 1974 when they talked about
13:22
creating the paper markets. It was all created to induce
13:27
volatility into the paper precious metals markets, so has
13:32
to dissuade everyday average people in the United States from
13:37
owning precious metals. And guess what?
13:40
For 50 years it worked, but guess what?
13:43
It's not working anymore. But again, right, We got to
13:48
remember something so critical. Sheep noise warning.
13:51
Sheep noise warning. I heard a big bullion dealer
13:54
talk about it this morning. He said maybe, OK, it worked
13:59
because you know what, maybe in the United States, one in 100
14:04
people, This is a guy that deals with the general public selling
14:08
gold and silver everyday. And he said maybe one in a
14:11
hundred Americans actually own and invest in this.
14:16
This is the one at the back of the one ounce silver Buffalo.
14:21
Time for a little show and tell, right?
14:23
One in a hundred, OK. The rest of those people, the 99
14:27
out of 100, they have no clue it worked what they did in 1974.
14:33
But it's not going to work forever.
14:34
Because when your neighbor, right, who doesn't own gold and
14:37
silver, that 99 out of 100 people who we like to refer to
14:42
as the sheeple, when they wake up, when they go to the grocery
14:49
store 6 months from now and a gallon of milk that cost $5,
14:54
which seemed outrageous right now when that gallon of milk
14:58
cost $8.68, they're going to be like, what is going on?
15:03
Right? When they go to the gas pump and
15:05
they're still paying five, 6-7 dollars per oz per per gallon
15:09
for gas, they're going to start to wake up.
15:12
And when they wake up and they decide that maybe, maybe those
15:16
gold and silver people are right.
15:17
I'm telling you there's going to be nothing available, not a zip,
15:22
no silver for you or but what fixes that is the market and the
15:28
price going up, right? And like we talked about earlier
15:32
in the week as well, right when silver goes back to a hundred,
15:35
$200 per oz. I'm not giving financial advice.
15:39
I'm just telling you what I see when that happens, right?
15:43
People will be clamoring their, their, the, the next time that
15:47
the silver wave hits, and I believe we're going to see it
15:51
sooner as opposed to later. It's going to be very difficult
15:54
to get your hands on physical silver.
15:56
Why? Because the physical just like
15:59
the truce quote UN quote ceasefire now I guess they're
16:02
calling it and Iran is, is fragile.
16:06
The physical retail silver market is super fragile,
16:11
delicate, a delicate flower, very sensitive, OK, Meaning it
16:16
doesn't take a lot for it to get thrown out of whack.
16:20
Remember what happened in January?
16:22
It got thrown completely out of whack.
16:24
Remember what happened in C-19? It got thrown completely out of
16:28
whack. Not over a course of a week or a
16:31
month. It happens immediately now,
16:33
right, Because people can buy silver on these things.
16:36
That's a cellular telephone, right?
16:39
You can buy. We could buy a monster box of
16:41
silver together right now in the next 5 minutes.
16:44
I wish I could, I would, but you get my point.
16:49
You don't have to get in your woody wagon and drive to the
16:51
local coin shop and wait in line for five hours.
16:54
You can if you want, but no, people now buy online and it
16:58
wipes things out immediately. And also the cherry on top is
17:04
the news spread so much faster now than it did 10 years, 20-30,
17:10
you know, 1980, right, when the people were like, there were
17:13
lines around the corner at the local coin shop.
17:16
Well, guess what? Those lines around the corner
17:19
now are on websites, right? And some of the websites even
17:22
last time they shut down, they were like, I'm sorry, we're
17:26
done. We can't, we're turning
17:27
ourselves off for the time being.
17:29
I don't know. I'm I'm just, I'm feeling, I'm
17:32
feeling very optimistic about what we're going to see in the
17:36
future with the silver price. All right, let's let's move on.
17:40
Let's go to China. Let's talk about gold and let's
17:45
talk about China, OK. And I ring the gong out of great
17:50
respect. I love China and the gong is
17:53
from China. What I'm trying to say is that
18:01
there's so much going on. We haven't talked about the
18:04
bricks, BRICS, Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa.
18:07
I'm going to save it till tomorrow.
18:09
Incredible data coming out about gold purchases by the bricks.
18:13
But I will tease you with this incredible piece of information
18:18
from our friend David Lee, he says breaking.
18:22
And make sure I got the right screen of which I do.
18:24
China took advantage of the lower price of gold in March,
18:28
hovering around mid 4000, and added gold reserves at A at a
18:33
rate which was 5 / 5 * 5.33 to be exact, the rate of February
18:41
and several months in the past where China only added 30,000
18:46
per month. So they were adding 30,000 a
18:47
month, you know, adding their gold reserves.
18:50
Wait till you hear what they did this time.
18:52
This is the 17th consecutive month that they added gold.
18:56
The P Bok, the People's Bank of China, the P bok officially
19:01
added 160,000 ounces of gold in March.
19:06
And remember right, in the past they were adding 30,000.
19:11
Total gold reserves in China now stand at 74,380,000 even ounces,
19:20
which equates to 2313 tons. And we know this about China as
19:28
well from our friend the Oriental Ghost.
19:30
Let's just check on the markets. I didn't even look at this
19:33
before we came on. I apologize.
19:35
OK. Let's look at the silver price
19:37
in China on the Shanghai Gold Exchange, their physical market,
19:44
silver on the Shanghai Gold Exchange closing at $86 per oz
19:52
because we like to round up their futures market.
19:55
The Shanghai Futures Exchange very close, right, 8650 per oz.
20:01
So very interesting dynamic unfolding in the world gold and
20:06
silver markets. Let's run out here and take a
20:09
look at the spot price. In the West, that's being
20:13
reported. OK, So we can see right here,
20:16
right. The current spot price that
20:18
we're seeing is $75.43. Now let's go look at the futures
20:25
market. This is where it gets.
20:27
Yeah, look at that. Hold on, you're not looking at
20:30
it now. You are also 70, basically the
20:34
exact same price. This is very interesting
20:37
dynamic. In case you don't know a normal
20:40
market, let me explain this to you.
20:44
In a normal commodity driven market, you're in a state of
20:48
what's called contango. That means that the spot price,
20:52
which is the immediate price, the LBMA price will be lower
20:58
than the futures price. Because if you're going to buy
21:00
something in the future, there's carry cost, interest, all that
21:03
great stuff. So the futures price should
21:05
always be noticeably higher than the spot price.
21:10
That's called contango. When the spot price is higher
21:14
than the futures price, that's called backwardation.
21:18
And we've been in that state numerous times here over the
21:21
last in 2026, the year of precious metals, 2025.
21:27
You ain't seen nothing yet. I'm with Michael Oliver, 200
21:31
five, $100 silver by summer. I digress.
21:34
What we're seeing now, and we're seeing it both in the West and
21:38
in the East in China is what I like to call.
21:42
It's like in balance, it's like the prices are the same.
21:44
It's not backwardation, it's not contango.
21:47
It's what I like to call backward tango.
21:50
And it's very strange. And it seems like there's been a
21:53
trend for that to be the case, very close between the futures
21:57
price and the spot price over the last, I don't know, like 6
22:02
weeks. Something weird is going on out
22:05
there. Something very weird is going
22:07
on. But you know what?
22:08
You don't have to worry about it.
22:10
I don't have to worry about it. You know why?
22:13
Because the gold and silver price are going to be very
22:17
pleasing to our senses as we move into the rest of 2026.
22:22
Now, please always be responsible with any financial
22:26
decisions you make. I'm not a financial advisor.
22:29
I speak my truth and my truth is often times, usually 60% or so
22:35
correct. But the ship has sailed.
22:38
The biggest driver of the price of gold and silver will be the
22:42
devaluation in real terms of the US dollar.
22:47
This can't be printed. This can't be manufactured, OK.
22:52
This has to be mined. There's only so much of it on
22:55
the face of the earth. This is printable, right?
23:00
And they don't even have to print it anymore.
23:03
All they got to do is press a button on a computer and they
23:06
can make more. And they've been doing a great
23:08
job of that because we're going to go out now and take a look at
23:13
one of our favorite websites, the US Debt Clock.
23:17
And when we go out here, it's plain as day.
23:21
Let's use, I think I know what color you're thinking.
23:24
You're thinking yellow, right? Let's that doesn't show up good
23:28
enough. Let's use kind of a green.
23:32
See how that looks. And you know what, hold on a
23:34
minute here. There used to be a way that I
23:37
could make this bigger. Well, anyway, enough of that.
23:41
There's the US national debt, 39 trillion, OK, interest rates
23:47
probably going to go up down here.
23:48
There's our interest, a trillion, OK, The big key
23:52
number, right, The budget deficit, which is not almost 1.7
23:56
trillion. Wow.
23:57
Remember the national debt, right?
24:00
That's what creates the interest expense.
24:03
The interest expense feeds into the budget deficit because we
24:08
got to pay all that interest. As the deficit gets bigger and
24:12
bigger, that makes the debt get bigger and bigger and bigger.
24:16
As we now approach $40 trillion and when this goes to 50
24:22
trillion, OK, that's going to make the interest expense even
24:26
more, bigger, bigger, which will make the deficit bigger, bigger.
24:29
It just guys, it is nothing but a let's see if I can get a good
24:34
color on here. It is nothing but a big see that
24:38
that is a spiral, a debt spiral. I don't like it.
24:41
You don't like it. We didn't create it.
24:43
It wasn't our idea. We like real money right.
24:46
In the United States for many, many years had real money.
24:50
Our money was backed by gold was backed by silver.
24:53
But it's what's going on and we aren't going to put our heads in
24:56
the sand like everybody else out there right.
24:58
Those people double sheep all day sheep all who are just don't
25:03
even know or care about what's happening as long as they can
25:07
watch Netflix and I love Netflix, right, and they can
25:10
watch the children's news network and get their news about
25:13
what's going on. We know what's really going on
25:17
in the world. We know what's really going on
25:20
with the fiscal and the monetary situation.
25:23
And I have a feeling that you're like me, right?
25:26
We don't want a lot. We just want to be able to
25:28
protect ourselves and our family, and we know the gold and
25:31
silver are a great option for that.
25:33
