- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up and welcome. This is the Rogue Recap and
- 0:04Speaker 1: you are here with your host, Linda McLaughlin. She is pissed, off, outraged,
- 0:09Speaker 1: and has zero patients with what seems to be an
- 0:12Speaker 1: epidemic of entitlement and stupidity. Here we talk about all
- 0:17Speaker 1: the things the other shows just don't or won't touch.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Make sure to like and subscribe to our podcast so
- 0:23Speaker 1: you never miss an episode.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Well, hey, welcome to the Rogue Recap. I am Linda McLaughlin.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Please check us out Roguerecap dot com, at Lyndamick at
- 0:33Speaker 2: Rogue Recap on X.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Wanted to do something tonight.
- 0:37Speaker 2: That I think needs a little bit more attention than
- 0:39Speaker 2: it's getting for all of us. Here we're watching the
- 0:44Speaker 2: amount of insane news politics, geopolitics, global politics, war, destruction, murder,
- 0:52Speaker 2: you name it, it's happening. I said to somebody this morning,
- 0:55Speaker 2: the world is on fire and it is not an exaggeration. Now,
- 1:00Speaker 2: the only way that we are told that we can
- 1:03Speaker 2: make our voices heard is to have our elected representatives
- 1:09Speaker 2: speak on behalf of their constituents, or at least the
- 1:12Speaker 2: majority of them.
- 1:14Speaker 3: But that's getting to be a.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Real problem because the Republicans suck, the Democrats suck, the
- 1:22Speaker 2: uniparty sucks, and none of them, I repeat, none of
- 1:26Speaker 2: them give a shit about us, the voter, the constituent,
- 1:31Speaker 2: the average American. So I'm not telling you anything you
- 1:34Speaker 2: don't know, but I do think there's a few things
- 1:37Speaker 2: that could use some clarity. First of all, every vote
- 1:42Speaker 2: that happens, both in the House and Senate is public information.
- 1:47Speaker 2: You can see the schedule of votes. You can see
- 1:50Speaker 2: who's voting, and you can see how they voted, whether
- 1:54Speaker 2: they voted not present, whether they voted no when they
- 1:57Speaker 2: should have voted yes, so on and so forth. Then
- 2:00Speaker 2: we have another issue, which is this issue of the filipbuster.
- 2:05Speaker 2: And I think the filibuster is a word that gets
- 2:09Speaker 2: thrown around, but I don't think most people understand what
- 2:14Speaker 2: the filibuster is.
- 2:15Speaker 3: And if they say they do, they're probably.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Lying because I don't want to look stupid, because everybody
- 2:20Speaker 2: likes you to just say, oh, yeah, yeah, I know.
- 2:22Speaker 3: I am the queen of saying I have absolutely no
- 2:24Speaker 3: idea what you're talking about.
- 2:25Speaker 2: And I love saying that because if you don't say
- 2:28Speaker 2: you don't know, then you're never going to learn anything. Right,
- 2:31Speaker 2: If you're the smartest person in the room. Find a
- 2:33Speaker 2: new room. You're in the wrong room. So right now
- 2:37Speaker 2: we have a lot of conversation going on in the
- 2:41Speaker 2: Senate because Leader John Thune, who's just as horrible as
- 2:46Speaker 2: McConnell and Cornyn and all these other rhino assholes that
- 2:50Speaker 2: have been in Senate for too long. Right Like it's
- 2:53Speaker 2: just it's almost like, well, I've lived here forever.
- 2:55Speaker 3: So like why leave? Why get a real job?
- 2:58Speaker 2: You know, they only work one hundred and fifty days
- 3:00Speaker 2: out of a three hundred and sixty five day year
- 3:02Speaker 2: as it is, and they spend two of their working
- 3:05Speaker 2: days from what I can gather working in politics over
- 3:07Speaker 2: the last twenty years traveling because instead of traveling on
- 3:11Speaker 2: a Sunday to get to their office in DC on
- 3:15Speaker 2: a Monday, they'll go on Friday. They'll leave in the morning,
- 3:19Speaker 2: and then they'll travel back to their home state on
- 3:22Speaker 2: Friday to be there for Saturday and Sunday. But they
- 3:25Speaker 2: don't travel on the weekend because they don't want to
- 3:27Speaker 2: give up their weekend. So they'd rather travel on a
- 3:29Speaker 2: workday both Friday and Monday or Tuesday when they come
- 3:32Speaker 2: in so that they can say things like, oh, yeah,
- 3:35Speaker 2: I'm going to be in my home office or my
- 3:37Speaker 2: local office. I'm like sure, So if I show up
- 3:39Speaker 2: at your local office on a Friday, you're going to
- 3:42Speaker 2: be there, Okay, sure, right. I mean it's just we
- 3:45Speaker 2: all know it's bs, but they do it anyway, so
- 3:49Speaker 2: they have the best, cushiest job.
- 3:52Speaker 3: I'm not saying all of them.
- 3:53Speaker 2: There's probably a handful of them that are actually working.
- 3:57Speaker 3: But the issue is twofold, right.
- 3:59Speaker 2: You've got the staffers that are doing the political climb
- 4:02Speaker 2: to whatever they wanted it to do.
- 4:04Speaker 3: I don't know what that is.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Some of them are really nice and super helpful, and
- 4:08Speaker 2: some of them really suck, just like the people that
- 4:10Speaker 2: they work with. So and then some of them are
- 4:13Speaker 2: like stuck with terrible people, but they just they can't
- 4:16Speaker 2: get out of that job until they can find somebody
- 4:17Speaker 2: else to work with, which I totally get. But right now,
- 4:21Speaker 2: we have the Save Act that's going through the Senate,
- 4:26Speaker 2: and we need John Thune to have a vote.
- 4:29Speaker 3: We need John Thune to pass this.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Bill and be done with it like a knulf already.
- 4:36Speaker 2: And I'm not exactly sure why it is that the
- 4:42Speaker 2: Senate majority leader is not passing the Save Act. So
- 4:47Speaker 2: the Save Act for Your Awareness is basically for us
- 4:50Speaker 2: to protect our.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Voting when we go into an election.
- 4:55Speaker 2: It would be a federal bill and it would require
- 4:58Speaker 2: US citizens to show proof of citizenship i e. Passport,
- 5:03Speaker 2: birth certificate and then be registered to vote in the
- 5:07Speaker 2: federal elections. And essentially, we are trying to get non
- 5:10Speaker 2: citizens who do not pay into our systems, do not
- 5:16Speaker 2: give back to any of the benefits and programs that
- 5:19Speaker 2: they ridiculously reap off of, which we're seeing in California, Pennsylvania, Minnesota,
- 5:26Speaker 2: I mean, just every single blue state you can think of.
- 5:29Speaker 2: They have rampant, rampant crime, fraud, and theft of the
- 5:34Speaker 2: American taxpayer. And we can't stop it because the same
- 5:40Speaker 2: people that are allowing it to happen are the ones
- 5:43Speaker 2: that brought in the people that are stealing from the
- 5:46Speaker 2: American taxpayer, and they want to keep them here because
- 5:49Speaker 2: it's a quid pro quote, right. They're giving back to
- 5:51Speaker 2: their quote unquote NGOs and their nonprofs, and so everybody's
- 5:56Speaker 2: getting a piece of the taxpayer dollar and the only
- 5:58Speaker 2: guy sitting out in the cold is the tax payer.
- 6:01Speaker 2: And that's why we have so many homeless veterans. That's
- 6:03Speaker 2: why we have so many substance abuse users lying on
- 6:05Speaker 2: the street. California is a great example of that. And
- 6:08Speaker 2: there's no there's just no way around where we're at
- 6:12Speaker 2: right now. There's no way around it except to pass
- 6:16Speaker 2: the Save Act. So if we look at the Save
- 6:19Speaker 2: Act and we look at what's happening, we can see
- 6:22Speaker 2: very clearly that it was voted, it was passed in
- 6:27Speaker 2: the House in twenty twenty four, it was already passed,
- 6:31Speaker 2: it's passed again in the House. Now we need John
- 6:33Speaker 2: Thune to say, yes, we're ready pass the Save Act.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Let's do it.
- 6:40Speaker 2: So if we look at the I'll give you the
- 6:44Speaker 2: definition of the bill of how it's written. It says
- 6:46Speaker 2: the SAVE Act refers to the proposed Safeguard American Voter
- 6:52Speaker 2: Eligibility Act. This is a federal bill requires what I
- 6:56Speaker 2: just said to you, you know, documentation of your citizenship,
- 7:00Speaker 2: and it disenfranchises illegal immigrants so that they cannot vote
- 7:07Speaker 2: in federal elections for a nation that they are not
- 7:11Speaker 2: a citizen enough. It would be like me going to
- 7:14Speaker 2: any other country outside of the United States, Australia, England, France,
- 7:19Speaker 2: you know, and saying, yeah, I want to vote in
- 7:21Speaker 2: your elections. I think Macrone sucks, which I do think
- 7:24Speaker 2: Macrone sucks, and I do think it would be great
- 7:26Speaker 2: to have someone replace him. But turns out I don't
- 7:29Speaker 2: live in France. So if I decide to go there
- 7:33Speaker 2: and I'm on a work visa or a student visa,
- 7:36Speaker 2: or I have some sort of you know, I don't know,
- 7:39Speaker 2: elongated stay, it doesn't suddenly give me permission to vote
- 7:43Speaker 2: in their general election. Like that's not how it works.
- 7:47Speaker 2: So if you look at here what we're doing in America,
- 7:50Speaker 2: we're just trying to get the leadership to pass this frickin'
- 7:54Speaker 2: bill and be done with it already. And for whatever reason,
- 7:59Speaker 2: John fun is not passing this bill, and he's not
- 8:05Speaker 2: answering people either, which is another which is another issue,
- 8:09Speaker 2: And I'm not really sure why that is either, and
- 8:12Speaker 2: I'm trying to I'm honestly trying to figure it out.
- 8:14Speaker 2: I'm trying to understand what is going on with John
- 8:19Speaker 2: Thune that he is ducking and dodging on the issue
- 8:24Speaker 2: and when people ask him about it, he will not
- 8:27Speaker 2: speak to it. Like that to me seems a little strange. Now,
- 8:32Speaker 2: South Dakota Senator Mike Bround's Utah Senator Mike Lee. These
- 8:37Speaker 2: are great guys. They are fully supporting this law. They
- 8:41Speaker 2: are getting behind it. You know, no reason why you
- 8:44Speaker 2: can't prove that you're a US citizens of vote, Like
- 8:46Speaker 2: this should not be a complicated concept. But for some reason,
- 8:50Speaker 2: John Thune is just stalling like crazy. And so now
- 8:54Speaker 2: people are saying, we have to a pass this bill
- 8:58Speaker 2: and b we got to get rid of the philip.
- 9:00Speaker 3: So what is a filibuster?
- 9:02Speaker 2: So the filibuster is something that has gone on in
- 9:04Speaker 2: the Senate.
- 9:04Speaker 3: For a really long time, and.
- 9:07Speaker 2: It allows ongoing debate, unlimited debate. It's what we saw
- 9:13Speaker 2: Corey Booker and Ram Paul and Senator Cruz and Chuck Schumer.
- 9:18Speaker 3: It's used on both sides.
- 9:19Speaker 2: They'll read cat and the hat books, they'll recite lyrics
- 9:22Speaker 2: from songs.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Anything to delay.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Getting to a vote on a bill that they do
- 9:29Speaker 2: not want to have happened in the Senate. And so
- 9:34Speaker 2: they have this unlimited debate. And the only way to
- 9:37Speaker 2: force a vote and to end that is that the
- 9:40Speaker 2: Senate has to invote culture. But you need sixty out
- 9:44Speaker 2: of the one hundred senators because you get two from
- 9:46Speaker 2: every state, say one hundred senators, sixty of them have
- 9:51Speaker 2: to be able to come together and say, Okay, enough,
- 9:54Speaker 2: enough with the cat in the hat, doctor Seuss, I'm done.
- 9:57Speaker 2: You know, we need to move on and we need
- 9:59Speaker 2: to vote on this bill now. If we look at
- 10:03Speaker 2: some of the things that are happening recently, these senators
- 10:07Speaker 2: are using these moments to break records. They're standing up
- 10:11Speaker 2: there and they're doing the most ridiculous things to say, oh,
- 10:15Speaker 2: I was the senator that had the longest filibuster. I'm like, guys,
- 10:19Speaker 2: you know, the American people don't get to screw around
- 10:22Speaker 2: all day and play games at work.
- 10:25Speaker 3: Why should you? And I think that's the.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Long standing issue, right is that we have seen far
- 10:31Speaker 2: too long that this is a massive problem and that
- 10:35Speaker 2: it's time to codify the things that President Trump is
- 10:38Speaker 2: trying to do. And after twenty twenty, I would think
- 10:42Speaker 2: that this would be even more important.
- 10:46Speaker 3: For us to have some security.
- 10:49Speaker 2: And you have to understand if somebody is opposing the
- 10:55Speaker 2: requirement to show ID that you are an American citizen
- 10:59Speaker 2: to vote in the they are part of the problem.
- 11:02Speaker 2: If you don't want for us to use ID, then
- 11:07Speaker 2: you want people to vote illegally because you know that
- 11:10Speaker 2: the American people don't want you to have whatever bill
- 11:13Speaker 2: it is past. So you have to get the people
- 11:17Speaker 2: who you made a promise to right. Because there's some
- 11:19Speaker 2: sort of strange agreement between illegal immigrants and Democrats and
- 11:23Speaker 2: some Republicans to do X, Y and Z so that
- 11:26Speaker 2: they can all share in the profits. And it's been
- 11:28Speaker 2: going on for far too long. So we need to
- 11:31Speaker 2: get some action here.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Now.
- 11:33Speaker 2: We all knew that John Thune was a scumbag from
- 11:35Speaker 2: the beginning.
- 11:36Speaker 3: We knew that.
- 11:37Speaker 2: He was part of the old Guard Cheney Bush. I
- 11:41Speaker 2: hate Trump, you know group, that's who he is. But
- 11:46Speaker 2: you've got to love your country more than you hate
- 11:49Speaker 2: Donald Trump. There's got to be a part of you
- 11:52Speaker 2: that they're saying, all right, he drives me nuts, but
- 11:55Speaker 2: on this he's right. People should actually be a citizen
- 11:58Speaker 2: in order to vote in our general election. I mean,
- 12:04Speaker 2: why is this a problem? And it isn't news, you know,
- 12:08Speaker 2: this is not something that you know, we haven't already
- 12:11Speaker 2: talked about. This is something that has been going on
- 12:14Speaker 2: for quite some time. And to be honest with you,
- 12:17Speaker 2: John thuneh has been a massive disappointment.
- 12:20Speaker 3: I truly believe that.
- 12:22Speaker 2: If we could get him out of there and the
- 12:24Speaker 2: Cornin's out of there these twenty twenty six midterms, these
- 12:28Speaker 2: old guard senators and representatives, they're out. When we have
- 12:32Speaker 2: you know, seventy to eighty Republicans voting to give money
- 12:38Speaker 2: to the National Endowment Society, all of this money to
- 12:42Speaker 2: these Democrat causes.
- 12:43Speaker 3: I mean, who the hell.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Needs a Democrat when you got ass whole Republicans. That's
- 12:48Speaker 2: basically where we're at. Not basically, that is where we're at.
- 12:52Speaker 2: And so now we have an opportunity to change things. Now,
- 12:55Speaker 2: we have an opportunity to codify things that require us
- 13:00Speaker 2: to protect elections, to protect your vote, to protect our
- 13:04Speaker 2: country so that we can leave something behind for our kids.
- 13:08Speaker 2: So make sure you're calling your senator two O two
- 13:11Speaker 2: two two four thirty one twenty one. It is so
- 13:13Speaker 2: scary that I have that memorized. But make sure you're
- 13:17Speaker 2: calling them. Make sure you're letting them know that if
- 13:20Speaker 2: they do not vote for the Save Act, if they
- 13:23Speaker 2: do not start taking action and putting Americans first today,
- 13:29Speaker 2: they will not be here tomorrow. We're going to kick
- 13:32Speaker 2: them in the pants. It's been real. See ya, Bye,
- 13:35Speaker 2: it's done. That's basically where I'm at. I hope it's
- 13:39Speaker 2: where all of you are at, because I think I've
- 13:41Speaker 2: had enough and I would like it. I would I
- 13:44Speaker 2: would really like our nation to have some protections. So
- 13:48Speaker 2: make sure you find out. Make sure you call your
- 13:50Speaker 2: senator and you ask them, are you voting for the
- 13:53Speaker 2: Save Act? Do you care about our future? And will
- 13:57Speaker 2: you protect my vote because my vote matters. And if
- 14:01Speaker 2: it's canceled out by an illegal alien who hates my country,
- 14:05Speaker 2: steals off of our benefits and multiplies like a jack
- 14:08Speaker 2: rabbit to out demograph my kid's future and take away
- 14:13Speaker 2: opportunities for people that love this country, then you're going
- 14:19Speaker 2: to get primaried. The midterms are going to be really
- 14:22Speaker 2: rough if these Republicans don't get a clue, and considering
- 14:25Speaker 2: the fact that they control the House and the Senate
- 14:29Speaker 2: and they still can't get shit done, it's really disheartening.
- 14:33Speaker 2: I hope you'll follow it. I will be too. I
- 14:35Speaker 2: hope everybody has a great weekend. This is Lynda McLaughlin.
