Ninety-nine-year-old WWII veteran Wiley Tow soared back into history, taking flight in a restored 1943 Stearman biplane over Amarillo — one of eight veterans from the Ussery-Roan Texas State Veterans Home honored by nonprofit Dream Flights. A technical sergeant who served in Europe at just 18, Tow signed the plane’s tail in tradition, part of a program that’s flown over 8,000 vets since 2011 — all free of charge. With his 100th birthday approaching August 14, the home invites fans to send him birthday cards as part of “one hundred for one hundred,” with a public celebration planned that day…
