Sometimes we get tired
of carrying the same problems
day after day.
We try to manage them.
Push through them.
Ignore them.
But eventually
we reach a point
where we can no longer pretend
everything is fine.
And neither does the psalmist.
The psalmist does not pretend
the problems do not exist.
The psalmist does not minimize them.
And the psalmist does not accept
that despair must have the final word.
Instead, the problems are named plainly.
Help is sought honestly.
And trust is held onto tenaciously.
