- 0:20Speaker 2: I don't care what it is, big secret, little secret.
- 0:22Speaker 2: This happens to be a crazy secret. If you ask me,
- 0:25Speaker 2: good morning, how are you.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Good morning, I'm doing well. Thing.
- 0:28Speaker 2: We're going to keep it anonymous. I know you're very
- 0:30Speaker 2: serious about that. You said you do not want anybody
- 0:33Speaker 2: to know who you are because it's kind of a
- 0:36Speaker 2: crazy secret. So what's up.
- 0:38Speaker 1: It is a crazy secret, so get ready. Okay, Well,
- 0:43Speaker 1: I used to be a priest. I'm not anymore, and
- 0:48Speaker 1: I don't really like talking about why you used to
- 0:51Speaker 1: be a priest. That's right.
- 0:53Speaker 2: I didn't even know that was something you could get
- 0:55Speaker 2: out of. I guess you could.
- 0:55Speaker 1: I don't know why. I thought it was a gang like.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Not what you ever really thought about it. It is
- 0:59Speaker 2: kind of so you were a priest, you're not in
- 1:06Speaker 2: it anymore. We don't. We won't get into details why,
- 1:09Speaker 2: I guess, unless you want to dive into it.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I won't talk about why. But yeah, people always,
- 1:14Speaker 1: you know, they're very interested when I say that I
- 1:17Speaker 1: was a priest, and you know they're waiting for a
- 1:19Speaker 1: scandal or a confession. I don't give it to them.
- 1:22Speaker 1: But you know, honestly, let's just say I don't agree
- 1:28Speaker 1: with a lot of the things the church does anyway.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Fair What I will say is this, I believe deeply
- 1:39Speaker 1: in honesty. But people would obviously confess all kinds of
- 1:44Speaker 1: wild things. But when people came into confession and you know,
- 1:49Speaker 1: told me they cheated, I listened, I prayed with them,
- 1:54Speaker 1: and then more often than not, I I gave them
- 1:57Speaker 1: a choice. I told them that they had a month
- 2:01Speaker 1: to tell the truth themselves, to sit across from the
- 2:05Speaker 1: person you know they claimed to love, and say the
- 2:08Speaker 1: words out loud, and if they didn't, I would really WHOA.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I did not expect.
- 2:19Speaker 1: That they in any handbook, as you can imagine. I
- 2:25Speaker 1: know that, but you know, I also know that you know,
- 2:29Speaker 1: some would say that I that I overstepped that I
- 2:31Speaker 1: that I played God, you know, but I I watched
- 2:34Speaker 1: what secrets did to people outlive, like, you know, hallowed
- 2:39Speaker 1: them out while they still showed up the church every
- 2:42Speaker 1: Sunday pretending to be a whole person. And some people
- 2:47Speaker 1: hated me for it. Some thanked me years later if
- 2:52Speaker 1: you never spoke to me again. So it definitely caused
- 2:55Speaker 1: a law of drama. Yeah, I don't. I don't read it,
- 3:00Speaker 1: not one you don't.
- 3:02Speaker 2: So there was so there were people that came in
- 3:05Speaker 2: to confess and then they said, hey, I cheated or whatever.
- 3:10Speaker 2: You gave them that option, they chose not to be honest,
- 3:13Speaker 2: and then you went to their partner and said, hey,
- 3:15Speaker 2: I'm just letting you know that your husband or wife
- 3:19Speaker 2: cheated on you.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Sometimes I did.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Yeah, wow, I don't know much about the Catholic religion.
- 3:26Speaker 2: I'll be honest, but I assume that's probably not what
- 3:29Speaker 2: you're supposed to be. Unless I always had the in
- 3:33Speaker 2: my head, and I don't know if this is the
- 3:34Speaker 2: way it is. Unless it was a crime or some
- 3:37Speaker 2: kind of thing that might hurt other people, then you
- 3:41Speaker 2: would keep that confession just to you and the priest.
- 3:44Speaker 2: But anyway, so that that's a huge secret and you
- 3:50Speaker 2: have no regrets on doing any of it.
- 3:53Speaker 1: I don't. Yeah, I wasn't a standard practice practice. But
- 3:57Speaker 1: the truth ruined some relationships. But you know, lives would
- 4:01Speaker 1: have poisoned them slowly anyway. And I left the church,
- 4:06Speaker 1: but I didn't leave that belief behind. You know, I
- 4:10Speaker 1: think honesty saves people, but it doesn't save everyone. Wow, Okay,
- 4:17Speaker 1: that's a big secret.
- 4:18Speaker 2: That is a massive secret. I never We've done a
- 4:21Speaker 2: lot of dirty little secrets, never had one like this,
- 4:25Speaker 2: So thank you for confessing to us. I mean, I
- 4:30Speaker 2: could see why it would be hard not to tell someone. Yeah, though, it's.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Because you know the other person.
- 4:35Speaker 2: It's not like therapy where it's just like there your partners,
- 4:38Speaker 2: some random person in the world. But likeugh, But interestingly enough,
- 4:42Speaker 2: some people you said did end up appreciating it because
- 4:45Speaker 2: it maybe worked out for them and that's was the
- 4:48Speaker 2: best thing they could have done.
- 4:49Speaker 1: It was a weight off for some people.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, well, thank you. Now I feel like I
- 4:55Speaker 2: feel like I should go confess because I feel like
- 4:57Speaker 2: I know a dirty secret now. But this is a
- 4:59Speaker 2: not judgment zone, kind of like heaven. Well, I guess
- 5:02Speaker 2: heaven is kind of a judgment zone. Anyway, sir, thank
- 5:05Speaker 2: you so much. We appreciate you and we appreciate you
- 5:08Speaker 2: telling us your secret.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Very happy truth.
- 5:12Speaker 2: That was a big one never got. Let's take it
- 5:14Speaker 2: to chursh one.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Yes.
