- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It's Almost Famous podcast. It's another recap, but the Bachelor
- 0:09Speaker 2: Mansion takeover. This time three contestants who were previously eliminated
- 0:13Speaker 2: get to compete for a chance at redemption and a
- 0:16Speaker 2: spot in the finale. Now, Ashley's not with us today,
- 0:21Speaker 2: I'm going to break this down with our producer, Heather.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Ashley is not with us because well, she has a
- 0:28Speaker 2: big week of the Real Housewives of Rhode Island press
- 0:34Speaker 2: and interviews and media, and as a result, we are
- 0:38Speaker 2: blessed and honored to have Heather with us today breaking
- 0:41Speaker 2: down this episode. Heather, what did you think?
- 0:45Speaker 3: This didn't feel worthy of an episode. To me, this
- 0:48Speaker 3: felt like it could have been condensed down to a challenge,
- 0:51Speaker 3: and that's kind of how I feel. What do you
- 0:54Speaker 3: think of this episode?
- 0:56Speaker 2: It's confusing because you know, obviously the guy, Sam, Dean
- 1:00Speaker 2: and Noah get the week off and they bring in
- 1:03Speaker 2: three people for a redemption. I do like that idea,
- 1:06Speaker 2: especially with Chris.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:09Speaker 2: I think Chris was and then they said it throughout
- 1:12Speaker 2: the episode. I think Chris was arguably the most talented
- 1:15Speaker 2: person there who never really got a fair shot at
- 1:18Speaker 2: the competition because he was eliminated based on I think
- 1:23Speaker 2: just the fact that he was like one of the
- 1:25Speaker 2: Goldens and these guys are all friends and he kind
- 1:28Speaker 2: of he just never had his go at it. So
- 1:30Speaker 2: I do like that. I think it was a good twist,
- 1:33Speaker 2: and it's a fun twist, and it's a fair twist.
- 1:36Speaker 2: I'm with you, though, this episode dragged in a lot
- 1:40Speaker 2: of ways because there just wasn't a lot happening. And
- 1:43Speaker 2: again my critique of this whole season is that we
- 1:48Speaker 2: don't necessarily get the highlight, Like we don't see a
- 1:51Speaker 2: lot of the build out and the grit and the
- 1:55Speaker 2: the met mistakes. That part has taken out, So the
- 1:58Speaker 2: renovation part of this is really not shown if you,
- 2:02Speaker 2: I think, watch the episodes as much as the final product,
- 2:07Speaker 2: and there's so much time spent on the judging of this.
- 2:12Speaker 3: There is, I agree. It's like we see the judges
- 2:16Speaker 3: go and critique it, and then they go back and
- 2:19Speaker 3: they tell the contestants the critique all over again. It's
- 2:22Speaker 3: like it's so it's too much, it's too much of
- 2:26Speaker 3: the same same Towards the end of every episode.
- 2:29Speaker 2: It feels that way to me. Maybe other viewers would disagree,
- 2:32Speaker 2: but it feels like it's a lot of repetitive language
- 2:36Speaker 2: and a lot of I mean, it was very obvious
- 2:38Speaker 2: this episode how it was going to end up. The
- 2:41Speaker 2: critique still seem very much like a personal opinion more
- 2:47Speaker 2: than you know, craftsmanship or there's like a lot more
- 2:51Speaker 2: stylistic critique, which is fine.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Did you think that Chris was the only one who
- 2:56Speaker 3: got pointed out for his functionality of his bar? I
- 2:59Speaker 3: felt like everybody should have had that note if it worked.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Or not right. I mean, that seems like an important
- 3:07Speaker 2: element when it comes to a bar, as the functionality,
- 3:09Speaker 2: So what makes I guess I wanted to clear a
- 3:12Speaker 2: picture of what actually makes the bar win more than
- 3:15Speaker 2: just personal opinion. Because you can put a new paint
- 3:19Speaker 2: color on very easily, you can build a roof over
- 3:23Speaker 2: the top of one of these very easily. I think
- 3:26Speaker 2: I wanted a clear understanding as a viewer of Okay,
- 3:29Speaker 2: here's who's gonna win based on how they accomplished the
- 3:32Speaker 2: goal set out for them at the beginning of I'll
- 3:35Speaker 2: use your language this challenge. But here's how the episode
- 3:39Speaker 2: set up. Jesse doesn't enter the room until the three contestants, Sam, Noah,
- 3:45Speaker 2: and Dean that they do have the week off that
- 3:47Speaker 2: they're going to bring in three people who've been eliminated
- 3:50Speaker 2: from the show in the past to have a redemption opportunity.
- 3:54Speaker 2: If they win this specific challenge during this episode, one
- 3:59Speaker 2: of them will be able to move move on to
- 4:00Speaker 2: the finale, which will happen next week. The three people
- 4:03Speaker 2: invited back Courtney, Tammy, and Chris. They are brought back
- 4:09Speaker 2: based on the judges Tasha and Tyler's opinions on who
- 4:16Speaker 2: maybe needed a second shot, who maybe got the raw
- 4:19Speaker 2: to the deal, or who was showing progress and promise
- 4:23Speaker 2: and needed that second shot at redemption. So the guys
- 4:29Speaker 2: that are currently still on the show have a week off.
- 4:32Speaker 2: The three of them start the challenge. The challenge is
- 4:34Speaker 2: this Heather. The challenge is to build a bar for
- 4:37Speaker 2: the outside area. Now, this bar, during my time on
- 4:41Speaker 2: the show was very, very sporadically used. I hardly remember
- 4:45Speaker 2: having a bar there. I think part of that is
- 4:47Speaker 2: because when you're the bachelor or the lead, somebody's bringing
- 4:50Speaker 2: you drinks and you're not necessarily going to the bar
- 4:52Speaker 2: to order drinks. But during Caitlin season, I don't remember
- 4:56Speaker 2: a lot of moments at this bar. It does that.
- 5:00Speaker 2: It does feel to me like there needs to be
- 5:01Speaker 2: a bar out there. It's a big element of the show.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Do you remember your bar being so easily mobile as
- 5:10Speaker 3: these ones were that they popped up? I mean this
- 5:13Speaker 3: was just some two by fours with some tiles put
- 5:17Speaker 3: on them, essentially at the end of the day.
- 5:19Speaker 2: I actually think, and I could be totally wrong here,
- 5:21Speaker 2: but if I'm pulling back memories from my memory bank,
- 5:24Speaker 2: I remember the bar being a catering service, so it
- 5:28Speaker 2: was one that could make real ends. Yeah, wheel in
- 5:31Speaker 2: and wheel out. There was no bar that I remember
- 5:33Speaker 2: actually being built or that was permanent. But it's always
- 5:40Speaker 2: great to have a pool bar, I think that. I mean,
- 5:42Speaker 2: this house is set up for that, and so this
- 5:46Speaker 2: outdoor area is now complete with the pool bar.
- 5:49Speaker 3: But is this the pool or is this the terrace
- 5:51Speaker 3: out in the front yard? Like near where is this terrace?
- 5:54Speaker 3: I guess is this located near the fountain in the
- 5:57Speaker 3: front yard.
- 5:58Speaker 2: No, it's at back the pool. So on the pool
- 6:01Speaker 2: there's a terrace off the side of a bedroom that
- 6:05Speaker 2: we never saw during the show. Okay, and it's a
- 6:08Speaker 2: really beautiful area. The property. Actually, it's a pretty wide
- 6:11Speaker 2: open area. You come out those sliders that you see
- 6:15Speaker 2: so many people walking out during the show right off
- 6:17Speaker 2: of that like living room, and it would be right
- 6:19Speaker 2: to the right of that would be where this bar
- 6:22Speaker 2: looks like it's gonna sit. That would be my assumption.
- 6:25Speaker 2: I think it'd be weird to have a bar in
- 6:28Speaker 2: the front yard, right.
- 6:29Speaker 3: I guess I was trying to get my bearings on
- 6:31Speaker 3: this mansion. I didn't realize that pool area was so vast.
- 6:36Speaker 2: It's a huge pool area. The property itself is massive.
- 6:39Speaker 2: I mean it. It has a house like there's like
- 6:42Speaker 2: a guesthouse across the driveway from the main house. This
- 6:48Speaker 2: is a big piece of property in a.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Beautiful made over. The guest house like.
- 6:53Speaker 2: I've never seen inside of it. In fact, I think
- 6:55Speaker 2: a little tidbit, I think Chris Soles actually lived in
- 6:58Speaker 2: that house while he was the back That.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Would actually be very interesting if the bachelorette or the
- 7:04Speaker 3: bachelor lived on the property, we would get a lot
- 7:06Speaker 3: of those knock on the door moments I think late
- 7:10Speaker 3: at night with contestants that we've seen happen more so
- 7:13Speaker 3: on the travel episodes.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right, I mean it so big piece of property,
- 7:20Speaker 2: big pool area. They're going to elevate this pool area.
- 7:24Speaker 2: The challenge is to build a bar to make it
- 7:26Speaker 2: functional for this pool area. We'll start with let's start
- 7:31Speaker 2: with Chris.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Don't forget they also have to make a signature cocktail,
- 7:35Speaker 3: which then they never get judged on.
- 7:36Speaker 2: But okay, yeah, that's true. It all has to match
- 7:39Speaker 2: the vibe of the bar that they build. And Chris,
- 7:43Speaker 2: I do think when it comes to putting together his bar,
- 7:47Speaker 2: his craftsmanship was shown. He is working on it, he
- 7:52Speaker 2: is focused, and he is making it a beach theme. Now,
- 7:56Speaker 2: one element I might have missed this that would have
- 7:58Speaker 2: been very helpful, because I I love the idea of
- 8:01Speaker 2: your pool area feeling like you're on a beach. It
- 8:03Speaker 2: feels like you're on vacation. It's separate from the design
- 8:07Speaker 2: of the house. You sit at this bar and you
- 8:09Speaker 2: feel like you've escaped, even if it's one hundred yards
- 8:12Speaker 2: or ten foot from the house that you're living, and
- 8:14Speaker 2: you feel like you've escaped to a different place. So
- 8:17Speaker 2: when Chris says, hey, I'm gonna make this a Caribbean
- 8:20Speaker 2: style bar, I personally am like, yes, that's what I
- 8:23Speaker 2: would want. It might not fit the aesthetic of the house,
- 8:27Speaker 2: but personally I like the idea.
- 8:31Speaker 3: I agree with you, what is this challenge? Is this
- 8:34Speaker 3: challenge to be innovative or is this challenge to make
- 8:37Speaker 3: a bar that fits into the theme of the house,
- 8:40Speaker 3: Because they didn't say either way, but in the past
- 8:44Speaker 3: they've been telling these people to make bold design choices,
- 8:47Speaker 3: to do something that represents them, and it seems like
- 8:52Speaker 3: really what they wanted it was just a bar that
- 8:54Speaker 3: kind of fit the theme of the house, which was
- 8:57Speaker 3: not conveyed to any of the contestants. Because I'm with you,
- 8:59Speaker 3: I would like something that is bold and stands out, that.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Can get weathered and as at weathers it actually is
- 9:07Speaker 2: even cooler and it shows the age and the grip
- 9:11Speaker 2: behind it. I also think the comments that you know,
- 9:17Speaker 2: mostly focused on Night one or the cocktail parties of
- 9:21Speaker 2: The Bachelor, for me, seem like a secondary thought. This
- 9:24Speaker 2: is still a functioning house where people are living in it.
- 9:27Speaker 2: This is not a house built for the show. Even
- 9:30Speaker 2: though this is the Bachelor Mansion takeover. This is still
- 9:33Speaker 2: a house that people live in and breathe in and
- 9:36Speaker 2: move in.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Oh you mean just in the season or outside of
- 9:39Speaker 3: the season.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Because I don't side of the season.
- 9:41Speaker 3: I don't think people live there anymore.
- 9:43Speaker 2: It's I think it's airbnb then, and at some point
- 9:46Speaker 2: it probably will become somebody's house, right, The Bachelor won't
- 9:50Speaker 2: take over this space forever.
- 9:52Speaker 3: True.
- 9:52Speaker 2: And so if we're building this for people at the
- 9:55Speaker 2: pool in cocktail dresses, that feels like a miss to me.
- 9:59Speaker 2: How often is his house actually having people in suits
- 10:02Speaker 2: and cocktail dresses by the pool?
- 10:04Speaker 3: I agree, that's a good point.
- 10:17Speaker 2: So Chris's bar is built with the Caribbean theme. He
- 10:21Speaker 2: gets a lot of critique for his sign that really
- 10:26Speaker 2: wasn't even built by him. They showed up the next
- 10:29Speaker 2: morning and the sign was already built and they had
- 10:32Speaker 2: to glue it together and paint it. Yeah, but the
- 10:35Speaker 2: you know, for the most part, the way that the
- 10:38Speaker 2: letters were cut out, I'm sure they had to say
- 10:40Speaker 2: in that. But the sign itself, if it was on
- 10:42Speaker 2: driftwood or if it was on you know, a piece
- 10:45Speaker 2: of plywood, didn't. We didn't see that. That was a
- 10:48Speaker 2: decision they got to make. So, you know, take that
- 10:52Speaker 2: for what it is. But he does get a lot
- 10:53Speaker 2: of critique on something that he actually did not have
- 10:56Speaker 2: a hand in putting together other than the gluing and
- 10:59Speaker 2: the pain of the sign. Also something out of all
- 11:04Speaker 2: the bars, out of all the elements of a bar,
- 11:07Speaker 2: the sign was definitely the easiest part. It probably took
- 11:11Speaker 2: that dude an hour to put all three to cut
- 11:15Speaker 2: out all three. So but that's where Chris gets a
- 11:18Speaker 2: lot of critique that his functionality is high. They said,
- 11:21Speaker 2: it's the most functional space of any of the bars.
- 11:24Speaker 2: From what we understand. It also has a lot of
- 11:28Speaker 2: good shade. So when you know, when you're sitting in
- 11:31Speaker 2: the hills of la and the sun is baking down
- 11:34Speaker 2: on you and it's hot and it's dry, this bar
- 11:38Speaker 2: did give the most coverage for shade. So it was
- 11:41Speaker 2: the most enjoyable from what I was hearing to sit at.
- 11:45Speaker 2: And then we have Courtney's bar. Cortney's bar is called
- 11:48Speaker 2: Liquid Courage. Her bar is beautiful. I do think with
- 11:52Speaker 2: Courtney the big miss was, I don't know how you
- 11:55Speaker 2: have an outdoor bar without a like a backing to
- 11:58Speaker 2: your shelving. There's wind, there's weather again, and every time
- 12:03Speaker 2: the wind and weather picks up, I don't know if
- 12:05Speaker 2: you want to be running out there to throw all
- 12:06Speaker 2: of your drinks and cups and glasses underneath the bar
- 12:10Speaker 2: or inside, so you do need some protection. And I
- 12:14Speaker 2: was with Sean. I think Sean was the one that
- 12:15Speaker 2: gave the critique that the back shelving mate like he
- 12:19Speaker 2: couldn't understand it, and it made me nervous watching it,
- 12:23Speaker 2: thinking how many times somebody would be having a good
- 12:25Speaker 2: time put a bottle up there and it falls off
- 12:28Speaker 2: and the glass breaks in a pool area where people
- 12:30Speaker 2: are barefoot. That was a miss. But the overall look
- 12:33Speaker 2: of her bar was what they called sexy, and I
- 12:36Speaker 2: do agree it was sexy. It looked like if you
- 12:39Speaker 2: could sit it in the basement of a home, put
- 12:41Speaker 2: it up against a wall, it would really elevate the space.
- 12:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I would say with Courtney's. Out of the three,
- 12:48Speaker 3: hers I think was the most scaled back in terms
- 12:52Speaker 3: of design. I felt like the others went a little
- 12:55Speaker 3: bit more detailed, whether it was lighting, whether it was
- 12:58Speaker 3: you know, extra things that they had on the bar,
- 13:01Speaker 3: and hers was really paired back. She did say she
- 13:04Speaker 3: was going for a simplistic look because that's what she
- 13:07Speaker 3: got complimented on in the last challenge, which she ended
- 13:11Speaker 3: up getting sent home for but I think, yeah, for
- 13:15Speaker 3: this element of a bar it was, it was missing,
- 13:19Speaker 3: just it needed a little bit more to feel complete
- 13:22Speaker 3: for sure.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Yeah, it looked for an outdoor bar. It just looked
- 13:26Speaker 2: a little bit incomplete. But it also was beautiful. Yes,
- 13:30Speaker 2: the simplicity of it did stand out, and I do
- 13:33Speaker 2: think overall it looked more like an inside basement bar
- 13:37Speaker 2: to me. In fact, Chris is the only one that
- 13:39Speaker 2: looked like a pool bar to me.
- 13:41Speaker 3: I agree, Yeah, I agree with both of those statements.
- 13:45Speaker 2: If I was a judge on this show, I think
- 13:47Speaker 2: one of my biggest concerns when it comes to an
- 13:50Speaker 2: outdoor bar is how is it going to weather? You know,
- 13:54Speaker 2: what is going to weather about it? It's gonna sit outside.
- 13:57Speaker 2: This thing's not moving around often at all, and so
- 14:01Speaker 2: is it going to be able to hold up to
- 14:03Speaker 2: the conditions and the elements that exist outside. That's a
- 14:06Speaker 2: huge part of functionality to me, and really a part
- 14:09Speaker 2: if you're a judge on the show that we should
- 14:11Speaker 2: have been talking about is does this look like a
- 14:14Speaker 2: bar that can exist, you know for more than twelve
- 14:17Speaker 2: months outside. The final bar was Tammy's Bar. Tammy's Bar
- 14:23Speaker 2: is definitely the most complete and it is. It takes
- 14:25Speaker 2: the elements of Courtney's bar and I think elevates it
- 14:28Speaker 2: to a level that is beautiful. It's a gorgeous bar.
- 14:32Speaker 2: It is wonderful and I'm going to sound like a
- 14:35Speaker 2: broken record, but how is it going to stand up
- 14:37Speaker 2: to the test of time with the elements outside?
- 14:40Speaker 3: Also, it just felt like another extension of the Rose
- 14:46Speaker 3: Room or the mix. Like it didn't feel like a
- 14:49Speaker 3: big swing in terms of design. It had arches again,
- 14:53Speaker 3: it had the same color as we've been seeing. It
- 14:56Speaker 3: just felt like and I know the judges came at
- 14:59Speaker 3: her and were like, where are you in this? In
- 15:01Speaker 3: this like design, but it's like Chris is all over
- 15:05Speaker 3: his design and you didn't end up going with that one.
- 15:07Speaker 3: So I didn't really understand this challenge and what the
- 15:11Speaker 3: judges were looking for, but I did. I do agree.
- 15:14Speaker 3: I liked in her arch that she put spotlights like
- 15:18Speaker 3: those kinds of details I thought were really nice.
- 15:21Speaker 2: I mean, it was a beautiful bar. In fact, all
- 15:23Speaker 2: three of these are wonderful. I think I at the
- 15:27Speaker 2: end of the episode was a little confused on are
- 15:28Speaker 2: we picking the most beautiful barm? Like? Is that the
- 15:33Speaker 2: challenge here, like the one that like is aesthetically pleasing
- 15:36Speaker 2: and that makes it look like you're sitting in a
- 15:38Speaker 2: hotel lobby, you know, having a drink. Or are we
- 15:42Speaker 2: picking an outside pool bar. That's where I'm getting confused.
- 15:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I think they chose the one that most looked
- 15:49Speaker 3: like the house. That's what I think they did.
- 15:52Speaker 2: And maybe in my ideal world, I wish that would
- 15:57Speaker 2: have been said at the beginning, like, I take swings
- 16:01Speaker 2: right for your design, but also, here is the lane
- 16:05Speaker 2: that we're judging upon is does this fit the aesthetic
- 16:08Speaker 2: of the house, Does it fit with the overall themes
- 16:11Speaker 2: that we've been going with the whole time, or does
- 16:14Speaker 2: it not? Because if not, if that was the judgment
- 16:17Speaker 2: and that's what they were judging on, I don't think
- 16:19Speaker 2: Chris goes with a Caribbean theme. I think he was thinking, Hey,
- 16:23Speaker 2: this is who I am, this is what I think
- 16:25Speaker 2: of when I think of pool bar. Let me do
- 16:27Speaker 2: a pool bar in the way that I envision it
- 16:30Speaker 2: and see it and do it to the best of
- 16:32Speaker 2: my abilities. But there wasn't a clear guideline here what
- 16:37Speaker 2: the actual judging was going to be about. And I
- 16:39Speaker 2: think that's maybe a theme throughout this whole season. Yeah,
- 16:42Speaker 2: is that there's too many points where I'm like, that's
- 16:46Speaker 2: amazing and great, and they choose the thing that feels
- 16:52Speaker 2: safe or whatever. The judges kind of come to a
- 16:54Speaker 2: consensus on what they were looking for. I wish there
- 16:57Speaker 2: was more guidelines on the design. Yeah, I agree, that
- 17:01Speaker 2: would have been helpful during this whole experience. Sam, Noah
- 17:05Speaker 2: and Dean again have the week off. They decide to
- 17:09Speaker 2: work out because they have all the free time in
- 17:12Speaker 2: the world, and they're a little bit angry, and it's funny.
- 17:17Speaker 2: I wonder fans will pick up on this. I was
- 17:20Speaker 2: watching Dean, you know, act like he was so mad
- 17:23Speaker 2: that there was in these contestants coming back in and he,
- 17:26Speaker 2: trust me, Dean was not mad. He at all was joking,
- 17:30Speaker 2: very much joking, but they tried to. I think the
- 17:33Speaker 2: show actually tried to make it look like he was
- 17:35Speaker 2: actually upset.
- 17:36Speaker 3: I think the show was really trying to make them
- 17:38Speaker 3: look all upset. They kept asking them and kept having
- 17:42Speaker 3: them sit down the interview being like, oh, I'm really
- 17:45Speaker 3: upset about this. It's like these guys don't care, no,
- 17:49Speaker 3: they're at all, They're having a good time. It's like
- 17:51Speaker 3: even they made Sam be like, oh, it's hard to
- 17:54Speaker 3: like enjoy my first victory of this whole season when
- 17:58Speaker 3: these people are coming back. It's like he doesn't care, guys.
- 18:02Speaker 2: No, he's getting the SoundBite that you need. And Dean's
- 18:05Speaker 2: is hilarious because if you watch it and you know Dean,
- 18:09Speaker 2: you know his sense of humor, and you know he's
- 18:12Speaker 2: like just saying it to say it and singing in
- 18:14Speaker 2: the most ridiculous way like I'm so angry. Yeah, and
- 18:18Speaker 2: he's not. But I do think viewers will watch it
- 18:23Speaker 2: and be like, oh, Dean was really mad.
- 18:25Speaker 3: I feel like Dean was like smiling and laughing he was.
- 18:29Speaker 2: It was like almost like scary because if he was
- 18:33Speaker 2: actually mad and that's how he communicates anger and he
- 18:35Speaker 2: smiles through it, You're like that feels really off. But no,
- 18:39Speaker 2: he's fine. He's doing what he does. These guys are
- 18:42Speaker 2: hanging out for the week or for the day two days.
- 18:46Speaker 3: I think that they're jazzed on that that they don't
- 18:48Speaker 3: have to pick up a hammer. They are doing cannonballs
- 18:52Speaker 3: in the pool and then they like to come over
- 18:54Speaker 3: and they're like, oh, look at this bar. They're like
- 18:56Speaker 3: looking at the bars being built, but they don't care.
- 18:59Speaker 2: No, Wow, they're having a blast at this point in
- 19:02Speaker 2: the season. All three of them are just hanging out together.
- 19:06Speaker 2: They're happy to be there and they're glad to have
- 19:08Speaker 2: a few days of downtime exactly. But that's what these
- 19:12Speaker 2: guys choose to do, and they know that one of
- 19:14Speaker 2: these contestants who win will be joining them in the
- 19:17Speaker 2: final four in the finale that is next week, So
- 19:21Speaker 2: the judges come out and judge each of these bars.
- 19:24Speaker 2: We bring in Bachelor Nation favorite, Bachelor Favorite Sean Lowe
- 19:29Speaker 2: to the house, who does have a huge background in
- 19:32Speaker 2: design and furniture.
- 19:34Speaker 3: I didn't know that. Is that like a known thing
- 19:37Speaker 3: that Sean makes furniture. I didn't know that.
- 19:39Speaker 2: I don't think he makes furniture or designed furniture. Yeah,
- 19:44Speaker 2: he has a partnership with a company. In fact, the
- 19:47Speaker 2: basement in my house right now is a Sean Loh
- 19:49Speaker 2: and Catherine Lowe sofa that we've had since it was
- 19:53Speaker 2: their wedding gift to us, which is very kind Wow,
- 19:57Speaker 2: years ago, and it's a wonderful piece of furniture. But yeah,
- 20:01Speaker 2: I think pretty much after the show he got this
- 20:03Speaker 2: deal and it's must have worked out for both parties
- 20:06Speaker 2: because it's been a long deal and Sean does a
- 20:09Speaker 2: lot of like VC investment. I think he does probably
- 20:13Speaker 2: have some rental homes. I know he also has invested
- 20:16Speaker 2: in some fast food restaurants and probably helped the design
- 20:19Speaker 2: of those. It makes sense on you know, why he's
- 20:23Speaker 2: there and kind of his eye for things. So he
- 20:27Speaker 2: does show up to join Jesse, Tasha, and Tyler this
- 20:33Speaker 2: week they go to each bar. We've talked about a
- 20:36Speaker 2: lot of the feedback already Heather on each bar, but
- 20:40Speaker 2: was there any feedback I think that you strongly agreed
- 20:43Speaker 2: with or disagreed with.
- 20:45Speaker 3: I think, just going back to the functionality of Chris's bar,
- 20:49Speaker 3: that that all made sense once Tyler kind of pointed
- 20:52Speaker 3: out the things that decisions he'd made in terms of
- 20:55Speaker 3: the layout. And I think when you pointed out the
- 20:59Speaker 3: fact that Courtney's bar didn't have a backing and how
- 21:04Speaker 3: problematic that could be, I think that that's I agree
- 21:07Speaker 3: in that feedback as well. I guess my big question
- 21:10Speaker 3: mark is on Tammy's and what they loved about it.
- 21:15Speaker 3: When they said basically that they didn't see her in
- 21:19Speaker 3: the design, was a little surprising that that's the one
- 21:22Speaker 3: that they ultimately went with.
- 21:24Speaker 2: I agree with you. I mean, I'm not taking anything
- 21:27Speaker 2: away from Tammy and her bar and her design, or
- 21:30Speaker 2: her bar and her design, and Chris and his design.
- 21:32Speaker 2: They were all great. I just don't know what they
- 21:35Speaker 2: were judging upon, because this is what we're told they're
- 21:37Speaker 2: judging upon design. Okay, don't know what that means, right,
- 21:41Speaker 2: design for an outdoor door bar or designed to match
- 21:45Speaker 2: the house.
- 21:46Speaker 3: I think it means design in terms of, like, they
- 21:49Speaker 3: don't want something sloppy, right, you don't want something that's
- 21:52Speaker 3: crooked or like exposed. That's what I think when I
- 21:56Speaker 3: hear like being judged on design, like the perfection of
- 22:00Speaker 3: of the actual whatever the design may be.
- 22:03Speaker 2: Okay, So all three of them accomplished that goal, right.
- 22:06Speaker 2: The design of all three of them was well done
- 22:10Speaker 2: for the design that they were wanting. I do think
- 22:13Speaker 2: the only one that we could probably dock for design
- 22:16Speaker 2: was Courtney just because of the functionality, and it wasn't sloppy.
- 22:21Speaker 2: I don't want to put that word behind it, but
- 22:23Speaker 2: I do think it was not thought through of how
- 22:25Speaker 2: this bar could actually function in the outdoors. The next
- 22:28Speaker 2: was execution. I don't know what that means.
- 22:31Speaker 3: Execution I would think goes into the functionality element of
- 22:37Speaker 3: like how it's laid out.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Okay, So all three of them in a way made
- 22:43Speaker 2: that happen because we only heard them comment though on
- 22:46Speaker 2: Chris's functionality and saying how well done that was, And
- 22:50Speaker 2: so maybe we give him a heads up there and say, hey,
- 22:52Speaker 2: you're at this point in the lead.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Creativity, I feel like that's so broad. I mean, everybody
- 22:59Speaker 3: has to create eight something out of nothing in this challenge.
- 23:02Speaker 2: So and creativity meaths in a lot of ways, thinks
- 23:06Speaker 2: going outside of the norm, going outside of the box, right,
- 23:11Speaker 2: thinking of something that is not maybe expected, or something different.
- 23:16Speaker 2: I do think Courtney's and Tammy's bars most aligned in
- 23:20Speaker 2: terms of aesthetic and style and thought. Chris's bar did
- 23:24Speaker 2: stand out because it was so different than theirs. And
- 23:28Speaker 2: the final judgment was concept, what is the concept here?
- 23:33Speaker 2: And I think all of them had some very creative
- 23:36Speaker 2: ways to do the concept. Chris is called dark and stormy,
- 23:39Speaker 2: so he makes a dark and stormy drink. Courtney's bar
- 23:44Speaker 2: is highlighted by a drink that's a spicy jalapino jalapino
- 23:48Speaker 2: rose drink, and The name of her bar is remind
- 23:53Speaker 2: me here liquid Courage, Liquid Courage again, high marks on
- 23:58Speaker 2: both of those things, and tan Ammy's bar is a
- 24:01Speaker 2: little more sophisticated. The name of her drink is the
- 24:04Speaker 2: Killer Kiss. It's a mescal drink that she shares with
- 24:10Speaker 2: the judges and Jesse.
- 24:12Speaker 3: It looked fancy. When she revealed the drink, it was
- 24:15Speaker 3: like whoa. She was like in there, like mixing it
- 24:18Speaker 3: up like a real bartender and like all smokey. I
- 24:21Speaker 3: was like, Okay, props on that. But then they weren't
- 24:23Speaker 3: judged on the drink, so I was like, there's a
- 24:26Speaker 3: lot of fluor for nothing.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Yes, Tammy does win this competition, Heather, And I'm not
- 24:43Speaker 2: going to say she didn't deserve it. I think she
- 24:44Speaker 2: did deserve it. That's not the point here. I just
- 24:49Speaker 2: don't know necessarily how she won. That's what I wanted.
- 24:53Speaker 2: I wanted to watch it. What I love in a
- 24:56Speaker 2: renovation show HGTV is a go to for me. Renovation
- 25:00Speaker 2: show is watching the process unfold and being able to
- 25:04Speaker 2: be like, Okay, that's a hit, that's a miss, that's
- 25:06Speaker 2: a hit, that's a miss, based on what I know
- 25:08Speaker 2: from the show, going into it, or.
- 25:11Speaker 3: When they put a design idea into motion and it
- 25:15Speaker 3: flops midway through and they have to pivot, and how
- 25:18Speaker 3: they make that pivot. That's always really interesting to watch
- 25:22Speaker 3: as well.
- 25:24Speaker 2: You're right, this didn't have that. We just kind of
- 25:26Speaker 2: have the bars being built, the judges, and then the
- 25:30Speaker 2: final say which is Tammy wins, which means Tammy goes
- 25:33Speaker 2: on to the finale. I do think she's a force
- 25:35Speaker 2: to be reckoned with during the finale.
- 25:37Speaker 3: I could see any of these people in the finale.
- 25:40Speaker 3: I think that's what is like difficult about this is
- 25:44Speaker 3: like they could all be in there and I would
- 25:46Speaker 3: be like, that's a great contender to be in the finale.
- 25:50Speaker 2: I I'm very curious watching the preview for the finale
- 25:53Speaker 2: that we're told that they're going to renovate the kitchen,
- 25:57Speaker 2: which is cool and needed. The kitchen has a really
- 26:00Speaker 2: cool look to it right now, where when it was
- 26:02Speaker 2: built they brought in some it looks like really old
- 26:06Speaker 2: refurbished like almost driftwood that they've stained and painted and
- 26:11Speaker 2: made in the cabinets. It is a cool look. It
- 26:13Speaker 2: could it could use maybe like a redo, just based
- 26:17Speaker 2: on time and you're spent of those cabinets being slammed.
- 26:21Speaker 2: I'm very curious though, how they're going to judge the
- 26:23Speaker 2: finale if they're all working within one space.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Oh, I think it's going to be like somebody's in
- 26:30Speaker 3: charge of the island, somebody's in charge of like this
- 26:35Speaker 3: set of cabinets, somebody's in charge like the backsplash and
- 26:38Speaker 3: the appliance is somebody's gonna be in charge of probably
- 26:42Speaker 3: the stove area and like that section. Yeah, but I
- 26:48Speaker 3: agree with you, it is. It's it's going to be
- 26:51Speaker 3: a hard room to divide up for four people. But
- 26:55Speaker 3: I do like that we're finally seeing stuff smashed. I
- 27:00Speaker 3: didn't seen that this whole season, and we're seeing them
- 27:02Speaker 3: smashing countertops and smashing through the cabinets, and so I'm
- 27:07Speaker 3: excited to see some stuff actually get broken in this house.
- 27:12Speaker 2: Yeah. My only question to you, Heather, is I mean,
- 27:15Speaker 2: I've redone our kitchen's countertops, replace them. Smashing was not necessary, Like,
- 27:24Speaker 2: it wasn't the way that you remove a nice piece
- 27:27Speaker 2: of granite. Yeah, and those countertops were really nice pieces
- 27:31Speaker 2: of granite. They can be reused, they can be cut down,
- 27:34Speaker 2: they can be refurbished.
- 27:37Speaker 3: That is true. You don't have to smash the countertops.
- 27:39Speaker 3: You just kind of like remove them. Why are they
- 27:42Speaker 3: what are they smashing? Then they're smashing.
- 27:44Speaker 2: They are smashing the countertops, and it's like, wait for
- 27:47Speaker 2: a renovation show. You, yes, you want the drama of it,
- 27:51Speaker 2: but you also want to do things in the way
- 27:52Speaker 2: that you would do them in your real life. I'm
- 27:55Speaker 2: confused on why they're smashing the countertops, quite honestly, because
- 27:58Speaker 2: that is one of the most the least efficient ways
- 28:01Speaker 2: because the glue still sticks and.
- 28:03Speaker 3: Now it's a lot of pieces you have to pick
- 28:04Speaker 3: up and dust you have to pick up.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it doesn't necessarily fit when it comes to demo.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Demo in a lot of ways is surgical. It's fun
- 28:14Speaker 2: to see people take a sledgehammer to things. That's not
- 28:16Speaker 2: the way demo works most of the time. So I'm
- 28:20Speaker 2: watching this something this is unrealistic, which here I watch
- 28:24Speaker 2: HTTV because I want the realistic picture the best they
- 28:28Speaker 2: can for TV of what a renovation looks like and
- 28:32Speaker 2: how they do it. And I like to learn from
- 28:34Speaker 2: watching it to say, Okay, there's a technique I can
- 28:36Speaker 2: now use and utilize for when I maybe want to
- 28:39Speaker 2: do something like this. Anyways, just my thought, it's like
- 28:44Speaker 2: it's probably a little bit too detailed, But that's me
- 28:47Speaker 2: watching it and saying, hey, that feels very aggressive and unnecessary.
- 28:52Speaker 2: And whoever owns this house now might love the opportunity
- 28:55Speaker 2: to sell like a five thousand piece or five thousand
- 28:58Speaker 2: dollars piece of granite to a manufacturer to cut down
- 29:02Speaker 2: and reuse that. I mean for me, I think, and
- 29:04Speaker 2: I'm like, that's a bargain. That's where I can get
- 29:08Speaker 2: my money back.
- 29:09Speaker 3: Who do you think is going to win this season?
- 29:12Speaker 2: It's really all how this kitchen is set up. You
- 29:15Speaker 2: asked me that question. I think it's all how the
- 29:18Speaker 2: If it is just like building things, I do think
- 29:22Speaker 2: Dean and Sam have the advantage if it is design focused.
- 29:26Speaker 2: I think Tammy has the advantage. If it is kind
- 29:29Speaker 2: of like a utility knife a universe, like, hey, how
- 29:32Speaker 2: is this whole thing going to go? And how are
- 29:34Speaker 2: you navigating the process, I think Noah has the advantage.
- 29:38Speaker 2: So I don't know again, and that's part of the
- 29:42Speaker 2: frustration I think is I don't know who the best
- 29:45Speaker 2: player is because I don't know what they're being judged upon.
- 29:48Speaker 3: Yet. Yeah, this is true, it's not been a linear
- 29:52Speaker 3: kind of competition for anyone, and having them be paired
- 29:56Speaker 3: up versus only doing individual challenges towards the end has
- 30:01Speaker 3: also been tricky to kind of follow and navigate of
- 30:06Speaker 3: whose skills are where. I will say, I really do
- 30:10Speaker 3: love that Dean is the only one so far who
- 30:13Speaker 3: has built his own things that we've seen, whether it's
- 30:17Speaker 3: custom art or custom furniture. So I'm excited to see
- 30:21Speaker 3: what kind of custom thing he brings to this kitchen
- 30:25Speaker 3: challenge because I think he's going to do that again.
- 30:28Speaker 2: Yeah, and he should, He's incredible at it. Yeah, So
- 30:32Speaker 2: I don't know who's going to win. I would one
- 30:34Speaker 2: to mean, obviously, I love Dean. I'd love to see
- 30:38Speaker 2: him walk away with the two hundred and fifty K,
- 30:40Speaker 2: one hundred K, hundred K. But I don't know. It's
- 30:45Speaker 2: all up in the air on what this whole finale
- 30:49Speaker 2: will look like. It is the finale next week of
- 30:52Speaker 2: The Bachelor Mansion Renovation show. The Bachelor Mansion Takeover. Tammy, Noah, Sam,
- 30:59Speaker 2: and Dean are left standing. In the previews were told
- 31:02Speaker 2: that they're going to redo the kitchen overall. Heather, I mean,
- 31:08Speaker 2: we're wrapping up this season, and as the world knows,
- 31:14Speaker 2: we thought we were gonna have other seasons to be
- 31:16Speaker 2: breaking down during this time. This has been a I
- 31:21Speaker 2: would say, I know I've been critical today. It's been
- 31:25Speaker 2: a good spin off of the show. Like I've enjoyed
- 31:27Speaker 2: seeing these characters come to life in a way that's
- 31:30Speaker 2: outside of dating and seeing who they are as people
- 31:35Speaker 2: and seeing them a little more relaxed because it's not
- 31:37Speaker 2: so stressful and there's not so much emotion that there
- 31:40Speaker 2: has been obviously. But I've enjoyed the idea of this spinoff.
- 31:46Speaker 2: I think it could have been executed in a way
- 31:48Speaker 2: that's a little bit better. Mostly for me, I want clarity,
- 31:52Speaker 2: and I want some of the lole like awkward moments
- 31:55Speaker 2: when it comes to the judges to be cut down.
- 31:58Speaker 2: There's so much repetitive feedback and so much repetitive language
- 32:02Speaker 2: that it gets a little bit drawn out. But for
- 32:06Speaker 2: the most part, I've enjoyed this spinoff, and I do
- 32:08Speaker 2: think it is replicable in the future, and I would
- 32:12Speaker 2: watch it gladly if maybe my own personal again, my
- 32:17Speaker 2: own personal biases could be you know, solved when it
- 32:22Speaker 2: comes to clarity and walling in language.
- 32:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I think Overall, this show had a really great
- 32:31Speaker 3: concept to it. I feel like the end goal should
- 32:34Speaker 3: have been less about this upcoming season of The Bachelorette,
- 32:38Speaker 3: and I think people would have been more invested if
- 32:43Speaker 3: the goal was to make this property, yes, beautiful, but
- 32:46Speaker 3: also you the viewer now get a chance to stay
- 32:50Speaker 3: at the Bachelor mansion in what room are you going
- 32:53Speaker 3: to stay in? And like if they had done that,
- 32:56Speaker 3: and we know that HGTV has done like dream home renovation,
- 33:01Speaker 3: I can't remember the exact name, but the whole point
- 33:05Speaker 3: was that you as a viewer could win a stay
- 33:08Speaker 3: or win a chance to like live in the house
- 33:11Speaker 3: for like a year or something. Don't quote me, but
- 33:13Speaker 3: I know HBTB has done contests and things like that
- 33:16Speaker 3: in the past, so I think that would have been
- 33:20Speaker 3: more fun. And I just wish that the drama was
- 33:25Speaker 3: less manufactured feeling, and I wish we would have been
- 33:28Speaker 3: able to see more people from Bachelor Nation come in
- 33:33Speaker 3: and pop in, whether it's oh, you're doing a bar thing,
- 33:37Speaker 3: I'm going to have Wells Adams pop in and actually
- 33:40Speaker 3: mix up the drinks and serve them and hang out,
- 33:43Speaker 3: and Wells is going to judge you on your drink competition,
- 33:49Speaker 3: or you know, I'm going to have some other people
- 33:53Speaker 3: from Bachelor Nation come and mingle at each one of
- 33:56Speaker 3: these bars and try the drinks. I don't know, I
- 33:58Speaker 3: just feel like a As much as we're seeing some
- 34:01Speaker 3: of our favorites from past seasons, there's so many more
- 34:05Speaker 3: people that could have been incorporated into this show. That's all.
- 34:09Speaker 2: If only there's a way, If only there was a
- 34:11Speaker 2: way to bring back people from Bachelor Nation that we've
- 34:15Speaker 2: learned to love and follow and grow up with on
- 34:19Speaker 2: a show that fits where they're at in life and
- 34:23Speaker 2: fits who they are in life, and that brings out
- 34:26Speaker 2: their biggest and best personalities. If that only there was
- 34:29Speaker 2: a way, Heather only, if.
- 34:30Speaker 3: Only that show existed, I'd watch that show.
- 34:33Speaker 2: I'd watch that show too. Hey, we aren't breaking down
- 34:37Speaker 2: the Bachelorette, obviously, but we are beginning to break down
- 34:40Speaker 2: the real Housewives of Rhode Island. And I am very
- 34:44Speaker 2: excited to announce a very special co host during this breakdown,
- 34:49Speaker 2: one that will be really fun for everybody listening, be
- 34:53Speaker 2: really fun for me. Somebody that is talented and skilled,
- 34:57Speaker 2: Somebody who is close enough to the situation to be
- 35:01Speaker 2: able to speak about it in a way that nobody
- 35:03Speaker 2: else can. But you're gonna have to listen to the
- 35:07Speaker 2: first episode of the Real Housewives of Rhode Island Breakdown
- 35:10Speaker 2: to find out who that person is. She's been chosen.
- 35:13Speaker 2: I will say it's a she. She's been chosen. She's
- 35:17Speaker 2: in waiting, she's prepped and ready to go, and so
- 35:21Speaker 2: am I to start breaking down our beloved Ashley I
- 35:27Speaker 2: in her debut on The Real Housewives of Rhode Island.
- 35:31Speaker 2: It's kind of weird to think Ashley I is a
- 35:33Speaker 2: real housewife.
- 35:34Speaker 3: I can't wait for you and your special co host
- 35:38Speaker 3: who's not me, to break this down because this is
- 35:43Speaker 3: going to be your first experience watching housewives, right Ben.
- 35:46Speaker 3: This is like you being introduced to the world, which
- 35:48Speaker 3: I think is so fun. As somebody who's obsessed with housewives,
- 35:52Speaker 3: it is insane to see Ashley in this new environment,
- 35:57Speaker 3: this new world. I will say, I already seen the
- 36:00Speaker 3: first episode and I love it. I am super excited
- 36:05Speaker 3: to watch this season and watch you get to see it.
- 36:08Speaker 3: I'm excited for fans to get to see ash new element.
- 36:11Speaker 3: It's all going to be, I think, really interesting to
- 36:15Speaker 3: play out. So yes, that will be coming later this week.
- 36:18Speaker 3: It's crazy. It's like we've been talking about this for
- 36:21Speaker 3: forever and now it's here.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Yeah, we hit it for so long, right, Ashley was
- 36:26Speaker 2: away and not always on the show, and then it
- 36:30Speaker 2: was announced and then there was like all this lull
- 36:33Speaker 2: and kind of limbo stage and now it's launching. I
- 36:37Speaker 2: will say I am personally very excited, and I love
- 36:41Speaker 2: the preview of them doing the like have you ever
- 36:45Speaker 2: or whatever game that's called you hold up to five
