Genesis - 75 - Gen. 31:1-5 - KNOW God
The תּוֹרָה TORAH is The Very Word of God. It means INSTRUCTION AND not LAW. God is teaching His chosen treasured possession, Israel. He is instructing them and trying to get Egypt out of Israel. What that means is that those Hebrews who had become enslaved in Egypt had assimilated into the Egyptian pagan culture. This began to happen after Joseph died. So, the Hebrews, all they knew when God came to rescue them, was the pagan religion of Egypt and her gods.
