  We are here breaking down WrestleMania 9 because the the

  listeners and the viewers when we ran the pole for the, what

  the format, which we listed three of these matches from this
• 4:54
  event and they all got crushed in the first round.

  It's a little sour. So we thought rather than just

  break down one match, like we usually do in the first 8

  episodes. We're going to break down the

  whole All event, you know, I can remember as a kid watching this,

  in my basement with Jim and his brother Brian.

  And I thought it was so cool. I think I thought it was so cool

  because it was the first WrestleMania held entirely
• 5:22
  Outdoors. It was in the middle of the day,
• 5:25
  it looked totally different than any other event I've ever seen
• 5:28
  in wrestling and some other things that I uncovered and I've
• 5:31
  noticed, as I watched this, did you know that this is the first
• 5:34
  WrestleMania that didn't use the traditional red, white and blue
• 5:37
  rope. Anybody did not did not know
• 5:40
  that did not know that hey y'all black and gold ropes, um, the
• 5:45
  black and gold and I mean, yeah, aw Association today and I know
• 5:49
  obviously that wasn't a thing but I did notice the black and
• 5:51
  gold ropes for this and of course it's the easiest Roman.

  Yeah. Yeah.

  It makes total sense for the event but no, I had no idea that

  this was the first non-traditional route.

  Yeah. It also was the first time since

  the beginning that they weren't using the classic wws BOGO, you

  That we all love. Yeah, yeah.

  There was a match schedule, between Bam, Bam, Bigelow, and

  Kamala. That was cancelled, for no

  reason. Thank you very much, whoever

  canceled it. I guess that that probably would

  have been as good as every other matchless card which is some
• 6:28
  part of mediocre. And also this is the first
• 6:31
  WrestleMania that featured a brunch benefit.

  That we never saw any highlights from Jim.

  You want to present us with Dark match that we uncovered.

  What was it? Because, you know, you kind of

  let things off. What's an animal, right?

  I mean this is a thing that's it is on the WWE Network, it's in

  there. What hidden gems gems, right?

  the network is because it's Jim Ross has debut as a commentator.

  The match itself is Papa Shango versus El Matador and it is not

  It looks like your traditional dark match except in broad

  daylight and like this pot lights aren't on at first.

  I was like, oh, what am I going to watch here?

  And then I think the coolest part is it's just Jim Ross,

  calling the match all by himself, it's his debut in WWF.

  It's pretty. You know at times it's like

  peeling back the curtain a little bit if you will because

  at times he's you know he says all right Bruce I'll work on
• 7:45
  that and yeah he sounds good. I'm surprised like he's gonna go
• 7:50
  to size there but like I get it like it's his you know, he's
• 7:52
  skin is feared in the WWF but it is cool like you exactly what

  you said, peeling back the curtain and kind of getting the

  you get the interaction from commentator to back in gorilla
• 8:03
  or whatever it is that the time? Yeah.

  They you can tell it's a dry run.

  Like yes literally just getting his feet wet, putting the

  training wheels on making sure that he knows where all the

  buttons are because at one point he's like where's the cough

  So it was it was a cool peek behind the curtain.

  If nothing else that whole experience in listening to Jr

  made the watch worth it for me is.

  A deal, like he shows up in the last match in here A year later,

  he's in a dark match against Tito Santana.

  So, you know, as we said this match isn't very exciting to

  highlight is Jim Ross. The match ends because Papa

  Shango goes off the top rope for a flying headbutt.

  Tina was at a real low. It's an Elmo.

  Yeah, I apologize. It's really bad though.

  Tito rolls out of the way and he's able to pin.

  Yeah, jungle 123 match over. So so what we're going to be

  doing in this episode is we all went and collectively rated each

  match on our cans in the cooler scale of 0 to 5 and

  collectively. We gave this a one and a half

  cans in the cooler. And I think the reason why we

  gave it that high of a rating was because of the cross,
• 10:08
  Mentality, I have another match and the fact that like really we

  didn't know about it. I mean, this was added on into
• 10:14
  the hidden gems section in 2019. So yeah, I guess that's, that's

  the Highlight, it's interesting, right?

  It's short enough to watch. There's some funny stuff like in

  the beginning, the match like Sean goes like kicking at
• 10:26
  matadors gear in the ring. It's like it's more of like a
• 10:29
  common Mustafa moved and a Papa Shango mochit with which I think
• 10:32
  is funny. And also there's a guy that you
• 10:36
  can hear screaming the entire match.

  Lisa Stone po tato. He's not doing like, you know,
• 10:42
  you expect a chance to be more like to do to you do but this
• 10:45
  guy's just screaming. Ow.

  And at one point he goes come on Tito.

  You're doing a great job. But so it's there's some funny

  stuff on there. Not to mention not to mention

  the rest is kind of looks like the bad guy from Me, Myself and

  Irene cross between him and Todd.

  There's a ref Later on in this card which I think looks like

  another actor or whatever personality.

  One other interesting note about this match is that it brings

  Tito Santana, is record at WrestleMania to a whopping two

  and seven. So kudos to do Kudos.

  So just we didn't, we mentioned that in the Hidden Gem section,

  if you really want to go back and listen to it, the easiest

  And I think it's actually like the first Second thing that

  event, pretty interesting. I thought that they veered away

  from that and I think the reason they did that is because they

  wanted to put so much focus on what opens up the show then.

  Quite frankly, it's probably a highlight of the show and that's

  the opening ceremony. I thought the opening graphic

  was kind of cool. Actually, I like the opening.

  into that there's two things about the opening that we're

  is that this is the first and last time that we hear Vince

  It's funny because on the other side of it, Sean had previously

  main event at Survivor Series but this Mac to set up during a

  six-man tag on Superstars shown in the Beverly Brothers versus

  to Tonka and the nasty boys and that kind of ignites the feud

  between Tonka and Shawn Michaels to enter into it because on
• 20:30
  defeated yet and they don't really eat mention it before the
• 20:33
  match, they mention it towards the end and even before this
• 20:38
  Which they had a non-title match on Superstars and buy tacos Over

  clean, which is always kind of like, like a boy, kind of know

  what's coming after that, even back then.

  And what's, I think what's funny about this match to this is, I

  know you talked about how Michaels was headlining Survivor

  series 92 against Brett, but this is his third WrestleMania

  in a row where he's the opener from Bernardo from the Rockers

  and 7 with against hacking Barbarian against El, Matador,

  the, your previous and both those matches are Bangers.

  And then this match which is good as will get to.

  But it's an interesting match but it also, we have some other
