- 0:04Speaker 1: Kratz.
- 0:05Speaker 2: You and me had a good giggle right after the
- 0:07Speaker 2: show yesterday. Do you remember what it was about?
- 0:12Speaker 1: Is about me?
- 0:14Speaker 2: No, no rare moment. It wasn't about you.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Oh thank god?
- 0:19Speaker 2: No, really you don't remember, Okay, I'll give you a hint.
- 0:23Speaker 2: It involved Pete Alonzo's contract.
- 0:27Speaker 3: He passed his physical, that's right, which is an Orioles thing. Like, look,
- 0:31Speaker 3: people like, it's not just we laughed about it, but
- 0:35Speaker 3: it was. It was Scott. You got to tell your
- 0:37Speaker 3: jokes right when you hear wait, right when you think them,
- 0:40Speaker 3: just interrupt us. Tell your jokes because you've had two
- 0:42Speaker 3: of the last two days where you're like, I almost
- 0:45Speaker 3: said that. I almost said that Pete's Pete passed his physical.
- 0:50Speaker 3: It's a big thing with the Orioles, that is.
- 0:53Speaker 1: It was who was the last guy that they didn't
- 0:55Speaker 1: It was last year, wasn't it.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Historically it's been pictures. That's what we're That's what Scott.
- 1:02Speaker 1: And he almost won a World Series. But that makes sense.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Yeah, but he wasn't. He wasn't healthy enough.
- 1:08Speaker 1: I got you.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Right, He only pitched the entire season. Remember, I feel
- 1:14Speaker 2: like they did it to Grant Balfour once does that
- 1:17Speaker 2: ring a bell? Did they do it to him? I
- 1:19Speaker 2: felt like they flunked him. I mean, they flunked so
- 1:21Speaker 2: many pictures. And I'm sure there are even more that
- 1:23Speaker 2: we didn't know about, but there were many publicly that
- 1:26Speaker 2: they agreed to. Player flies there and they're like, yeah,
- 1:31Speaker 2: never mind, and now your value shot because we just
- 1:34Speaker 2: told everybody we feel like you're damaged goods.
- 1:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I bet there's another. But the part that we
- 1:39Speaker 3: and we'll have to ask Hoffman later maybe next time
- 1:42Speaker 3: it comes on, I bet they go back to him,
- 1:45Speaker 3: was like, we'll still give you. We'll still get like
- 1:49Speaker 3: we were going to give you fifty million, We'll give
- 1:52Speaker 3: you forty two, even though we know after everything, after
- 1:55Speaker 3: we know you're hurt. Yeah, I want to find I
- 1:59Speaker 3: want to find tact.
- 2:00Speaker 1: It might be their tactic.
- 2:01Speaker 3: You never know, just just saying it.
- 2:05Speaker 2: I would not put it past them based on previous
- 2:08Speaker 2: ownership group where they're like, but here's still some money.
- 2:11Speaker 2: And the reason why I bring that up is actually
- 2:14Speaker 2: just got this story when I was at the winter meetings.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Apparently there was one time where the team was run
- 2:20Speaker 2: by the Angelus family. Before this, the Orioles signed a
- 2:23Speaker 2: player I'm not going to say that player's name, and
- 2:26Speaker 2: they wanted to trade him before spring training. He did
- 2:29Speaker 2: not do anything wrong, he didn't say anything, he didn't
- 2:32Speaker 2: do anything. Owner calls and says, hey, some of my
- 2:36Speaker 2: friends said that he doesn't think he's going to be good.
- 2:42Speaker 2: This is a true story. Wanted to trade the player
- 2:46Speaker 2: before he even got to spring training. After they signed him.
- 2:50Speaker 3: I was drinking up in the Hamptons with some of
- 2:52Speaker 3: my some of my friends and trade the guy that
- 2:57Speaker 3: I just signed.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Wow, I was on the h or you do have
- 3:04Speaker 1: a name?
- 3:05Speaker 2: I actually legit, don't remember the name, and I don't
- 3:09Speaker 2: know if I want to say the name, because then
- 3:10Speaker 2: I'm outing the person who told it to me. But
- 3:13Speaker 2: but to be continued, to be continued, let me see
- 3:16Speaker 2: if I can get permission from that person to actually.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Do nobody's gonna care after the fact, don't.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Sometimes people don't want to get into the industry and
- 3:26Speaker 2: they don't want to roast.
- 3:28Speaker 3: No, you're just tell me, Just tell me, and I'll
- 3:30Speaker 3: tell everybody.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Well, we'll talk post show and then maybe to be
- 3:33Speaker 2: continued on Monday. But we do have breaking news. The
- 3:40Speaker 2: Royals are dropping some dough mikeel Garcia is signing a
- 3:44Speaker 2: five year contract extension. Now the details are coming in
- 3:47Speaker 2: as we speak. There is a club option for a
- 3:51Speaker 2: sixth year. That's according to our FT senior insider Ken Rosenthal.
- 3:57Speaker 2: We don't have the money yet. Garcia is twenty five
- 4:01Speaker 2: years old. He's a goal to club winner. He had
- 4:04Speaker 2: one of the top wins above replacement numbers in baseball,
- 4:07Speaker 2: which is one of the most valued numbers in the sport.
- 4:11Speaker 2: We're tabulating what he does at the plate, what he
- 4:13Speaker 2: does on the basis, what he does in the fields,
- 4:16Speaker 2: and Todd Father he actually is one of the best
- 4:18Speaker 2: third basemen in baseball that almost nobody knows about.
- 4:22Speaker 1: You know, but no, I was just going to say
- 4:23Speaker 1: that nobody knows about it. Two eighty six last night,
- 4:26Speaker 1: three fifty one on base four forty nine slog. I mean,
- 4:30Speaker 1: sixteen home run seventy four RBIs with twenty three bags.
- 4:33Speaker 1: That's actually not that bad. Gold Glover first year All
- 4:37Speaker 1: Star guy. Oh yeah, then nobody knows about this guy,
- 4:40Speaker 1: you know. I mean, you listen, he plays Kansas City,
- 4:42Speaker 1: he gets after it. They didn't make the playoffs, which
- 4:45Speaker 1: was unfortunate, and I think that's what people worry about
- 4:47Speaker 1: more than sometimes individual stats and how guys are doing.
- 4:52Speaker 1: If I'm a Royals fan out didn't make it again,
- 4:54Speaker 1: of course you don't go back and be like, well,
- 4:56Speaker 1: m you know, mckel had had a really good year.
- 4:59Speaker 1: But yeah, I like this. I like this pickup. I
- 5:02Speaker 1: think he's an exceptional ball player. I think he goes
- 5:04Speaker 1: about his business the right way. I think he's a leader.
- 5:07Speaker 1: And I think they did this cratzy because they think
- 5:11Speaker 1: this guy is important to the team and he can
- 5:14Speaker 1: bring that culture back to as well. So I like it.
- 5:17Speaker 1: If you feel like somebody needs to be on this
- 5:19Speaker 1: team and you want him there for a little longer,
- 5:21Speaker 1: talk to the guy and make something happen.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm just trying to look up my Todd Fraser stats.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Another third baseman didn't get the gold glove. They never
- 5:29Speaker 3: let you have the goal glove. But you know he's
- 5:32Speaker 3: in his age twenty five season. You were twenty five
- 5:36Speaker 3: when you got called up. Yeah, I think I was like,
- 5:40Speaker 3: So it's fun to always look at that kind of
- 5:42Speaker 3: stuff because we know where your career ended up. We
- 5:44Speaker 3: know how many All Star Games you made. Home run
- 5:46Speaker 3: Derby's all that stuff.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Yep.
- 5:48Speaker 3: And you say, obviously, we don't know what the numbers
- 5:52Speaker 3: are that he's getting, but you look at what he did,
- 5:55Speaker 3: and this is why I have a tough time believing
- 5:58Speaker 3: that the we'll get to another sign that the Royals
- 6:00Speaker 3: made also but believing that the Royals would really be
- 6:05Speaker 3: in on taoscar Hernandez. I know they went after Santander
- 6:10Speaker 3: hard and made a really nice offer last year, but
- 6:14Speaker 3: he ultimately had already agreed with the Blue Jays. So
- 6:19Speaker 3: this is the type of player that the Royals need
- 6:22Speaker 3: to build around, or the types of players that they
- 6:25Speaker 3: need to fill their roster out with. Casey is a
- 6:28Speaker 3: monstrous field. It's a huge outfield, so their outfitters need
- 6:32Speaker 3: to be athletic. They need to be able to get
- 6:34Speaker 3: after it. And part of that is you need corner
- 6:36Speaker 3: guys who can handle that position in a sense of
- 6:40Speaker 3: you let a ball get down the line. In KC,
- 6:43Speaker 3: it's a little bit different. Guys are scoring on a
- 6:46Speaker 3: ball down the line and left guys are scoring from
- 6:48Speaker 3: first because it's bigger, and you need a really good
- 6:51Speaker 3: left fielder to be able to handle that. So you
- 6:53Speaker 3: also need a really good third baseman. And I think
- 6:55Speaker 3: they see the value in it. But man, you delve
- 6:59Speaker 3: into after this contract, after this extension came out, I
- 7:03Speaker 3: started looking at some of his numbers. I mean, this
- 7:05Speaker 3: is a dude that's on an upward trend. Yeah, Kansas City,
- 7:09Speaker 3: you're afraid. As a fan, You're like, was this like
- 7:12Speaker 3: a one year, one year thing? I tend to agree.
- 7:16Speaker 3: I think it's not. I just think it's a it's
- 7:19Speaker 3: somebody that's kind of a jumping off point in his career.
- 7:23Speaker 3: He's twenty five, he's gonna play next year is age
- 7:25Speaker 3: twenty sixth season, And the fact that he made these
- 7:29Speaker 3: jumps with his batting average, he made the jump with
- 7:33Speaker 3: his stolen bases went up, I mean not up. His
- 7:36Speaker 3: stolen bases have stayed pretty consistent. Sorry, they went down
- 7:41Speaker 3: because in twenty four you thirty seven bags. But the
- 7:43Speaker 3: biggest thing for me is his walk rate went through
- 7:46Speaker 3: the roof with his strikeout rate going down. You know,
- 7:50Speaker 3: is that some of Jonathan India, you know, rubbing off
- 7:52Speaker 3: on him being on that roster a little bit? Is
- 7:54Speaker 3: that the fact that he went from age twenty four
- 7:56Speaker 3: season to twenty five, when Todd was making a jump
- 7:58Speaker 3: from Double Chattanooga to Louisville, Kentucky. Like, that's the kind
- 8:04Speaker 3: of stuff I like seeing this and knowing the Royals,
- 8:08Speaker 3: it's probably a really nice team friendly deal. But for MIKEL. Garcia,
- 8:14Speaker 3: it is a lot of cashish locked in through his
- 8:18Speaker 3: age possibly age thirty one season. If that six year
- 8:21Speaker 3: gets picked up.
- 8:24Speaker 2: His wins above replacement number this year from Fangrafts was
- 8:27Speaker 2: five point six. That was top fifteen among position players
- 8:33Speaker 2: in Major League Baseball, top fifteen overall number. Yeah, I
- 8:38Speaker 2: mean he runs baseball. I gotta look, he gets caught
- 8:42Speaker 2: at his stolen base percentage is not great from what
- 8:45Speaker 2: I remember. Kratz, maybe you have it in front of
- 8:46Speaker 2: you quicker, because I'm lost this year populated.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Just this year, he was caught nine times twenty three bags,
- 8:53Speaker 3: but it was caught nine times. Last year it was
- 8:57Speaker 3: thirty seven bags, only caught twice. The Royals do, and
- 9:03Speaker 3: the Royals do an incredible job. Rusty Konz has set
- 9:05Speaker 3: this precedent back since I was there in fourteen that
- 9:10Speaker 3: and they've gone through some transitions, so you know what
- 9:13Speaker 3: happened there? Who knows the dude was on base? I mean,
- 9:16Speaker 3: I'm trying to figure out how much more he was
- 9:18Speaker 3: on base. He was on base almost at a one
- 9:21Speaker 3: hundred extra clip, like, he had a two to eighty
- 9:23Speaker 3: one on base percentage this year. This past year it
- 9:26Speaker 3: was three fifty one, So he was on base more,
- 9:30Speaker 3: got caught stealing more. So obviously they want to clean
- 9:33Speaker 3: that up. But you're talking about a dude that was
- 9:35Speaker 3: almost a forty stolen base guy and got caught twice
- 9:39Speaker 3: in twenty four So yeah, you know he's got he's
- 9:43Speaker 3: got to increase his efficiency out there.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Yeah, but also he makes contact. He has elite exit
- 9:49Speaker 2: velocity numbers. Two years ago, I remember because there was
- 9:52Speaker 2: a good article about how it was weird. He had
- 9:54Speaker 2: great hard hit percentage, right, which is how much you're
- 9:57Speaker 2: making contact with the ball ninety five miles an hour
- 9:59Speaker 2: off the b are better, But then his barrel percentage
- 10:01Speaker 2: wasn't good. And you guys can probably speak better to
- 10:03Speaker 2: the difference there and how one is so far off
- 10:06Speaker 2: from the other. But the point is there were a
- 10:09Speaker 2: lot of the stats that teams love these days that
- 10:13Speaker 2: are indicators that there's more right the stats in terms
- 10:17Speaker 2: of expected and indicated numbers. A couple of years ago,
- 10:20Speaker 2: we're painting a picture of a player who should be
- 10:22Speaker 2: even better, and then we saw a lot of that
- 10:24Speaker 2: come to fruition this past season. So I think the
- 10:27Speaker 2: Royals say, this is real, Let's drop some money on him.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Let's eat up basically all of his prime years, and
- 10:32Speaker 2: that's what you're going to get. I mean, in Major
- 10:34Speaker 2: League Baseball these days, the prime years are on average
- 10:38Speaker 2: twenty five to thirty one range. We're not talking about
- 10:41Speaker 2: Kyle Schwarber here, but on average, that's when you see
- 10:44Speaker 2: a lot of players at their best. They're going to
- 10:46Speaker 2: eat up all of those years right now with MIKEL. Garcia,
- 10:48Speaker 2: and they might have one of the top left sides
- 10:50Speaker 2: of the infield and all of baseball. Todd Father, you
- 10:52Speaker 2: got Bobby Wood Junior and MIKEL. Garcia locked up for
- 10:55Speaker 2: the long term. That's what you're supposed to be doing.
- 10:57Speaker 2: You're supposed to get these guys on quote team friendly
- 10:59Speaker 2: deals that you can keep them.
- 11:01Speaker 1: And they should be very happy. They should be very
- 11:03Speaker 1: happy with this with Junior, should be excited about this,
- 11:07Speaker 1: and the Royals should be. I mean, if you're a
- 11:09Speaker 1: fan right now, hey, listen, it's not the sexiest name,
- 11:12Speaker 1: but this dude is really good and he plays the
- 11:15Speaker 1: game the right way. So another plus for the Royals.
- 11:19Speaker 1: I know they had that big offseason last year getting
- 11:21Speaker 1: guys in and out didn't work out, but again, this
- 11:23Speaker 1: is a plus. It doesn't mean you pick somebody up,
- 11:25Speaker 1: but you have a home stay here with one of
- 11:28Speaker 1: these guys, and it's a really, really good infield. You
- 11:31Speaker 1: got a Gold Glover and you've got one of the
- 11:32Speaker 1: best players in baseball. That's pretty sweet.
- 11:36Speaker 2: And they did add They also added Lane Thomas in
- 11:39Speaker 2: the last twelve hours. Krat's about one year, five million.
- 11:42Speaker 2: It is one year, not about one year, but it's
- 11:44Speaker 2: about five million bucks one year. I'm not going to
- 11:46Speaker 2: get made fun of today, or I'm at least going
- 11:48Speaker 2: to play some defense. One year and five million bucks
- 11:52Speaker 2: for Lane Thomas to jump into the outfield. It seems
- 11:55Speaker 2: like Krats are going to spend in this kind of
- 11:58Speaker 2: rains to try and patch up what has become a
- 12:02Speaker 2: huge hole for them. Right they need to show up
- 12:04Speaker 2: the outfield. Lane Thomas has had his moments. I feel
- 12:06Speaker 2: like he was a hot commodity with the Nats and
- 12:09Speaker 2: moves over to Cleveland had one of the biggest swings
- 12:11Speaker 2: in their franchise history. But overall, I think it was
- 12:14Speaker 2: a pretty bad year for him this past season. Again, though,
- 12:18Speaker 2: a guy that teams like and a guy that teams
- 12:20Speaker 2: can playtuon.
- 12:22Speaker 3: What can he what can he mimic that he was
- 12:25Speaker 3: doing in Washington if you're looking at if you're looking
- 12:28Speaker 3: at a guy who was a big I mean one
- 12:32Speaker 3: of the guys who even in twenty I think it
- 12:34Speaker 3: was twenty three, Yeah, twenty three, when he was twenty
- 12:37Speaker 3: eight homers. He had an ops plus of one point fifteen.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Like I thought he was going to get traded that year.
- 12:45Speaker 3: He was one of the biggest right handed commodities because
- 12:48Speaker 3: he was smashing left handers and he was getting a
- 12:52Speaker 3: lot of he was getting a lot of burn out there,
- 12:54Speaker 3: and you you thought he would turn it around or
- 12:57Speaker 3: you thought he would get traded in the offseason. He didn't.
- 13:00Speaker 3: He's had a decent start to the twenty four season,
- 13:03Speaker 3: but ever since he's gone to Cleveland, it has not
- 13:06Speaker 3: been good dealt with injuries. He started out super slow,
- 13:10Speaker 3: like it was a bad It was a bad look
- 13:12Speaker 3: early for Cleveland in twenty four, but then he had
- 13:14Speaker 3: the huge home or the Grand Slam in the playoffs.
- 13:18Speaker 3: Last year. He just never got going, and so people
- 13:21Speaker 3: are going to look at it. Oh, what why are
- 13:24Speaker 3: the Royals giving the guy who had a negative point
- 13:27Speaker 3: six war, which we just talked about with mikel Garcia,
- 13:31Speaker 3: Why they give him five million dollars. This guy shouldn't
- 13:34Speaker 3: even be a big leaguer. Lane Thomas brings something that
- 13:38Speaker 3: a lot of teams really want, but they never go
- 13:43Speaker 3: after quality at bats and a guy who knows how
- 13:47Speaker 3: to come off the bench and has a certain skill set,
- 13:51Speaker 3: and if they use it correctly, you're able to get
- 13:54Speaker 3: the most value out of that position. Maybe not necessarily,
- 13:57Speaker 3: Lane Thomas. Lane Thomas isn't going to give you. You know,
- 14:00Speaker 3: I don't think they're going in the season saying we
- 14:01Speaker 3: need one hundred and sixty two games. We need you
- 14:03Speaker 3: to hit twenty what I say again, twenty eight homers
- 14:07Speaker 3: that like I don't think that's what they're expecting, especially
- 14:09Speaker 3: in Kaufman. I think they're looking for a guy that's
- 14:12Speaker 3: gonna you know what you're gonna get. They're facing lefties.
- 14:16Speaker 3: He's gonna play every day against the lefty, and he
- 14:19Speaker 3: can play all three positions in the outfield in a
- 14:22Speaker 3: huge outfield, and he can still run.
- 14:24Speaker 2: And in fairness, he never got going because he didn't
- 14:27Speaker 2: really have much of a chance to get going. He
- 14:29Speaker 2: had about a quarters worth of play appearances. So I
- 14:33Speaker 2: know you. I heard you ask me this. That's when
- 14:35Speaker 2: I was throwing on clothes and getting back into the studio.
- 14:39Speaker 2: You asked a question right before the show started. I
- 14:41Speaker 2: heard you. Guy, just couldn't answer because my mic was muted.
- 14:43Speaker 2: But you were like, what happened to Lane last year? Well,
- 14:46Speaker 2: he had two cases of right foot planter fasciitis and
- 14:50Speaker 2: a right wrist bruce, and that's why he only had
- 14:53Speaker 2: one hundred and twenty five AB's.
- 14:55Speaker 3: I will, I will, I will go to my grave
- 14:57Speaker 3: saying that I don't wish on my worst to me
- 15:00Speaker 3: plantar fasci itis. I had planner fascias when I was
- 15:04Speaker 3: in Kansas City. Fortunately I ran down the first base
- 15:07Speaker 3: and it blew out. So that's the best, Like it
- 15:09Speaker 3: released right, or if you just sit there and you
- 15:13Speaker 3: live with plant fasciitis, I wouldn't. I wouldn't even wish
- 15:16Speaker 3: that on Utah. Yours like popped when you ran yep,
- 15:19Speaker 3: and it felt better in the moment, it hurt like crazy. Yeah,
- 15:24Speaker 3: day and a half later completely gone. Never had it again.
- 15:28Speaker 3: I'm not a doctor, but that's incredible. And he had
- 15:31Speaker 3: the I think Lane had the I thought he had
- 15:34Speaker 3: an ankle issue too. I had turf and you had
- 15:39Speaker 3: it both. I had to put a metal metal little shiit. Yeah,
- 15:43Speaker 3: oh my god, you had a shank in your miserable.
- 15:47Speaker 3: That's Nobody needs foot, foot or hand injuries.
- 15:50Speaker 1: No, Dusty Banker always says, take care of your feet
- 15:52Speaker 1: and hands.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Yep, that's it.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:55Speaker 2: So if that's better for Lane, then he's going to
- 15:57Speaker 2: be in a better spot. And the last thing for
- 15:59Speaker 2: the Royals is if they're going to trade away any
- 16:01Speaker 2: of their pitching to try and get one more outfielder.
- 16:04Speaker 2: It sounded like from Ken Rosenthal's notes column at some
- 16:06Speaker 2: point he's written so many of them they were going
- 16:08Speaker 2: to sign one trade for another. I think they could
- 16:11Speaker 2: end up just signing two, and I think Royals fans
- 16:13Speaker 2: hope for that because I think you need that advantage
- 16:16Speaker 2: of having as much pitching death as possible. Look at
- 16:18Speaker 2: how good Cole Reagan's was two years ago, and then
- 16:20Speaker 2: they just didn't get a lot of Cole Reagans this
- 16:22Speaker 2: past season because of injury. So I would hold on
- 16:24Speaker 2: all of those guys, but we'll see what happens. We'll
- 16:26Speaker 2: do more Royals talking popcorner. Let's sizzle. Let's get to news.
- 16:36Speaker 2: So we'll start with Christopher Morrell signing up with the
- 16:40Speaker 2: Miami Marlins one year contract. This, according to Ken, Rosenthal
- 16:45Speaker 2: expected to mostly play first base, and Ken said the
- 16:48Speaker 2: hope is that the Marlins hitting coach Pedro Guerrero will
- 16:53Speaker 2: unlock Morell and also gave credit to Mike de Portees
- 16:56Speaker 2: for the first on reporting that story. Okay, I mean,
- 17:04Speaker 2: I'm expecting more from the Marlins, but sure you want
- 17:07Speaker 2: to fill it up with some lottery tickets too, and
- 17:09Speaker 2: some depth and see if Kristopher Morel can finally corral
- 17:12Speaker 2: the skill set. Go for it, Todd, for I feel
- 17:15Speaker 2: like we talked about him somewhat recently when he was
- 17:17Speaker 2: cut loose, and you look at Tampa Bay really losing
- 17:20Speaker 2: a trade. Here is sak Paratus is an all star bat.
- 17:23Speaker 2: And I know there were other parts to that trade,
- 17:25Speaker 2: but Christopher Morrell has been a big bust in the
- 17:28Speaker 2: big leagues so far for a guy that's some front
- 17:31Speaker 2: offices love. This is the tale of a guy who
- 17:33Speaker 2: does have those sexy stat cast stats and some of
- 17:36Speaker 2: the metrics that front offices fall in love with, and
- 17:39Speaker 2: I equated to the William o'panias back in the day.
- 17:42Speaker 2: It's BP power, but it hasn't converted and he's not
- 17:45Speaker 2: a good defender. So he needs to hit for serious
- 17:47Speaker 2: pop and try to get on base a little bit
- 17:49Speaker 2: to be a big league player. We'll see if the
- 17:51Speaker 2: Marlins can find that. If it doesn't work for him
- 17:53Speaker 2: this year, he could be out of the game.
- 17:56Speaker 3: C C.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Pedro for sure to step it up a little bit. No, listen,
- 18:03Speaker 1: he just at one. At what point do you look
- 18:06Speaker 1: as a baseball player as ahead or you look yourself? Man,
- 18:08Speaker 1: this just isn't working. So I think Pedro Garrera knows
- 18:11Speaker 1: what he's doing. I think I think he's got a
- 18:13Speaker 1: test in front of him. Maybe revamp the swing, cratsy,
- 18:15Speaker 1: maybe no more leg kick, Maybe see a couple pitches
- 18:19Speaker 1: here and there, don't be afraid to look at a
- 18:21Speaker 1: pitch and you know, maybe it's a ball. But he
- 18:24Speaker 1: had a lot of strikeouts. Understandably he strike out or
- 18:27Speaker 1: you know, pop out kind of guy. But I think
- 18:29Speaker 1: he should revamp his whole swing and maybe change something
- 18:33Speaker 1: go to a two strike approach or fix something. Make
- 18:35Speaker 1: sure your head because my biggest thing. The more the
- 18:38Speaker 1: higher he got with the leg kick, your eyes move
- 18:40Speaker 1: and your head moves, and I think the more your
- 18:42Speaker 1: eyes move, the more you're gonna swing and miss their
- 18:43Speaker 1: foul balls off that you're like, oh man, how did
- 18:46Speaker 1: I miss that? And there was a lot of that.
- 18:48Speaker 1: So for him, you know, maybe it's time to revamp
- 18:51Speaker 1: your whole swing and hopefully, you know, resurrect your career
- 18:54Speaker 1: moving forward.
- 18:54Speaker 3: I'm always about giving guys like another opportunity. Yes, like
- 19:00Speaker 3: I obviously bounced around a long time, you know, played
- 19:03Speaker 3: at a completely media yorkre level. But you're always trying
- 19:05Speaker 3: to change things. You're always trying to fix little things.
- 19:10Speaker 3: To me, when you sign a guy like this, yeah,
- 19:12Speaker 3: they're hoping he could hit twenty plus pumps. But when
- 19:15Speaker 3: I hear he's going to play first base, I had
- 19:17Speaker 3: to look on Baseball Reference. They have him listed as
- 19:21Speaker 3: an outfielder d H third baseman, and so I look
- 19:25Speaker 3: down at the defense part and it says zero games
- 19:28Speaker 3: played at first base. Don't hamstring your team at a
- 19:34Speaker 3: position that is trivialized by a lot of the industry
- 19:39Speaker 3: of teams that don't win, of teams that look at
- 19:43Speaker 3: the first base position as yeah, whatever, ah, we got
- 19:46Speaker 3: a third baseman. We're gonna pick up Todd Frazier and
- 19:48Speaker 3: he's gonna play first It's nothing against Christopher Morel, not
- 19:52Speaker 3: saying he's not athletic enough to learn it. It is
- 19:55Speaker 3: a big time position. It's a big time position on
- 19:58Speaker 3: a young team. You don't have a lot of veteran
- 20:01Speaker 3: infielders that need that help over at first base. And
- 20:03Speaker 3: then you just say, oh, we got Christopher Morell because
- 20:09Speaker 3: the Borbino's not available, because Josh Bell isn't gonna sign
- 20:14Speaker 3: with us, Like like you you enter those names of
- 20:17Speaker 3: the guys who have played first base, and it's a
- 20:20Speaker 3: harder position than just hey, you know what, he's had
- 20:23Speaker 3: twenty plus homers in seasons. I know he strikes out
- 20:26Speaker 3: Pedro Guerrero, fix him go play first base for us,
- 20:29Speaker 3: Like that's that's tough. And I don't want to see
- 20:31Speaker 3: the momentum that the Marlins made this season based on
- 20:35Speaker 3: their pitching staff, based on their defense, take a backslide
- 20:39Speaker 3: because they're like, well, we'd like to have some offense
- 20:41Speaker 3: for on the cheap we'll just throw them at first.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Interesting what's next? What's next for the Marlins? They're apparently
- 20:52Speaker 2: pirates light this offseason. I don't think they're gonna play
- 20:55Speaker 2: ball for a player that's worth, you know, one hundred
- 20:57Speaker 2: million dollars in guaranteed money. But it's like they are
- 21:00Speaker 2: going to get involved and crafts. We can make fun
- 21:02Speaker 2: of them all we want. I do actually think they'll
- 21:05Speaker 2: spend a little money because it's the same story as
- 21:10Speaker 2: the A's last year. You have to so that the
- 21:12Speaker 2: league just doesn't get pummeled with more grievances that they
- 21:16Speaker 2: have to uncork when they get to the labor agreement
- 21:19Speaker 2: a year from now. So in all seriousness, I do
- 21:22Speaker 2: think they'll spend a little bit of money, not a lot,
- 21:24Speaker 2: but a little bit of money. And I do still
- 21:25Speaker 2: think they might trade one of their young starters, turn
- 21:28Speaker 2: that into a position player, and then sign a starter
- 21:32Speaker 2: to backfill it in the rotation.
- 21:35Speaker 3: I mean, they think they think they have the answers
- 21:38Speaker 3: in the pitching staff because they have good pictures, but
- 21:41Speaker 3: they also think, you know, if they call all the
- 21:43Speaker 3: pitches from the bench, you know, I saw the change
- 21:46Speaker 3: in the last four weeks when they were calling the
- 21:49Speaker 3: pitches from the bench, so we don't really need we
- 21:52Speaker 3: don't really need the best pictures, So I would agree
- 21:54Speaker 3: with you. I think they trade from that excess in
- 21:59Speaker 3: their mind, like, oh, call someone up that's also going
- 22:01Speaker 3: to give us value in there. I think as a Marlins,
- 22:05Speaker 3: when you have a starting rotation like you do, you
- 22:07Speaker 3: can't be afraid of keeping all of them and dipping
- 22:11Speaker 3: into the two year To me for the Marlins, if
- 22:14Speaker 3: they dip into the two year market for a hitter,
- 22:17Speaker 3: that could be impactful. I think that's when they start
- 22:22Speaker 3: making changes. They're in a tough NL East, but the
- 22:25Speaker 3: reason that they did as well as they did was
- 22:27Speaker 3: because of that starting pitching. I'm afraid that some of
- 22:31Speaker 3: the recent firings in the last few years in the
- 22:35Speaker 3: Marlins system that was involved with the development of all
- 22:39Speaker 3: these young pitchers might come back to bite them. But
- 22:44Speaker 3: you know that's time will tell. Time will tell, and
- 22:47Speaker 3: I think it's it's time for the Marlins to strike
- 22:50Speaker 3: or tell Sandy al Contre, hey, you know what, thanks
- 22:54Speaker 3: for everything, and there's gonna be a lot of value.
- 22:57Speaker 3: But that might not happen until, like Freddy Pearl is
- 23:00Speaker 3: either taken off the market or he's traded, you know.
- 23:03Speaker 3: I think that's the kind of thing where I would
- 23:06Speaker 3: I would bet on the upside of Sandy al Contra
- 23:08Speaker 3: if I'm a team, because of his controllability and his
- 23:12Speaker 3: and his history of being a durable dude who wants
- 23:16Speaker 3: the ball for nine innings thirty two times a year.
- 23:21Speaker 1: I was gonna say, al Contera, it's time to move
- 23:23Speaker 1: on in my opinion, not not I mean him trade
- 23:27Speaker 1: for sure, but I think that would be their next move.
- 23:30Speaker 1: I don't know. I just don't see them. I don't
- 23:33Speaker 1: see them spending I honestly don't see them spending any
- 23:36Speaker 1: more money, if you want the truth.
- 23:37Speaker 3: And four in there, a Contra, a Contra and Uri
- 23:43Speaker 3: Perez were the guys before. Now I think Edward cabreroed
- 23:48Speaker 3: Edward Cabrera is kind of emerged as the guy that like, oh,
- 23:54Speaker 3: guys didn't really know about because they had Yuri, and
- 23:56Speaker 3: then they you have Meyer that's coming up to or
- 23:59Speaker 3: not coming up, but solidifying himself. I just think there
- 24:03Speaker 3: is an opportunity for the Marlins to continue that upward
- 24:07Speaker 3: trend and whatever moves they make, I hope that's what
- 24:10Speaker 3: they're doing. And not saying, hey, we overachieved last year,
- 24:14Speaker 3: we're just going to stay status quo. I think it's
- 24:17Speaker 3: time to slowly continue to move.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Man Meyer hasn't worked out at all for the most
- 24:22Speaker 2: part for them, and from what I've read, Uri Perez
- 24:28Speaker 2: is the only untouchable like Edward Cabre. Edward Cabrera could
- 24:31Speaker 2: be dealt al Contra. I think they want to deal.
- 24:35Speaker 2: I think the hold back there is the value the
- 24:38Speaker 2: Marlins want to valume as a number one. He showed
- 24:41Speaker 2: flashes of that, but not the full season, and it
- 24:43Speaker 2: was the first full season coming off the surgery. I
- 24:47Speaker 2: don't know. I think they might play hardball and hold
- 24:51Speaker 2: on to al Contra because I think they might match
- 24:54Speaker 2: the value they're looking for. With Edward Cabrera. There's more
- 24:58Speaker 2: years of control. It's easier to price him in the
- 25:01Speaker 2: marketplace than it is for all contract. But we'll see,
- 25:04Speaker 2: we'll see. Let's get to Michael Garcia. We're going back
- 25:08Speaker 2: to him. Why because we got money five years, fifty
- 25:12Speaker 2: seven and a half million dollars. There's a club option
- 25:15Speaker 2: and escalators in the deal, so it could max out
- 25:18Speaker 2: at six years eighty five million dollars. I don't have
- 25:22Speaker 2: a lot to say about this. I mean, this is
- 25:24Speaker 2: how these deals generally look like, good job pay. If
- 25:28Speaker 2: this guy keeps doing what he did this past season,
- 25:31Speaker 2: tod fother, he's a steal. I mean, if he's a
- 25:35Speaker 2: he was almost a six win player, if he's a
- 25:37Speaker 2: five win player, depending on how you value wins. I mean,
- 25:39Speaker 2: most front offices look at a win between at least
- 25:42Speaker 2: five and ten million bucks. A lot of times in
- 25:44Speaker 2: the public it's looked at as ten million bucks. Obviously
- 25:47Speaker 2: there's not fifty million dollar players, but it's showing the
- 25:49Speaker 2: value that that player brings. I mean, he can easily
- 25:52Speaker 2: pay for this contract in the first couple of seasons.
- 25:55Speaker 2: This involves arbitration, years, all kinds of stuff there. That's
- 25:57Speaker 2: why the general public that doesn't pay at tenime baseball
- 26:00Speaker 2: will look at a contract like this be like what
- 26:02Speaker 2: that's it. That's because you're limited on how much you
- 26:05Speaker 2: can make until you hit free agency, and that's factored
- 26:07Speaker 2: into these extensions.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it's a great deal. I think it's
- 26:12Speaker 1: a great deal for both sides.
- 26:13Speaker 2: And I.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Just hope that this guy just keeps on doing what
- 26:17Speaker 1: he's doing and doesn't worry about anything else. Stays humble
- 26:20Speaker 1: like he has and just stay under the radar. Everybody's
- 26:23Speaker 1: going to know who you are now, but just keep
- 26:24Speaker 1: doing you get the knocks that you have, make the plays,
- 26:27Speaker 1: and help your team out. Nothing else need. He has
- 26:29Speaker 1: no more worries in the world. Just play the game
- 26:31Speaker 1: that you know how to play.
- 26:33Speaker 3: Get your first contract. None of it's guaranteed. Before before
- 26:37Speaker 3: this season, he was we talked about War. He was
- 26:40Speaker 3: a three point eight war player. Obviously, he's always had
- 26:44Speaker 3: the defense. That's something that never slumps. So even if
- 26:47Speaker 3: he has an offensive slump of a season or this
- 26:51Speaker 3: was just his one outlier, which I don't believe it is,
- 26:54Speaker 3: because when you reduce your walk when you reduce your
- 26:57Speaker 3: strikeout rate and increase your walk rate in the same season,
- 27:01Speaker 3: like that is a that is a sure fire definition
- 27:07Speaker 3: of a guy that has figured figuring it out and
- 27:10Speaker 3: is going to continue to improve. But to me, you're
- 27:14Speaker 3: you're locking in. You're locking in essentially a contract for
- 27:17Speaker 3: a guy who was a over a five win player,
- 27:21Speaker 3: and that contract is really only what Jake Cronin were signed.
- 27:25Speaker 3: You know, I was trying to look at like other
- 27:27Speaker 3: contracts that were out there, and he's playing what I
- 27:30Speaker 3: think is the second premium position. I think third base.
- 27:35Speaker 3: That's why you see so many Platinum Glove winners at
- 27:38Speaker 3: third base because the value of the plays that are
- 27:41Speaker 3: made there, to me are yes they're ground balls, yes
- 27:45Speaker 3: they're balls down the line, but you're taking away doubles
- 27:48Speaker 3: when you make those plays, especially in Kaufman.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Let's do some digging, ready for some weeds?
- 27:57Speaker 3: Mmmm?
- 28:07Speaker 2: Hey, what's the deal? Are the Dodgers really shopping to
- 28:09Speaker 2: Oscar Hernandez. Katie Wu is new on the Dodgers beat,
- 28:13Speaker 2: and she's also just becoming an insider in the sport right,
- 28:16Speaker 2: working with Ken Rosenthal on notes, columns and stories like this.
- 28:19Speaker 2: I mean, her and people like Will Samon really emerging
- 28:23Speaker 2: with great insight. And she said the Dodgers continue to
- 28:26Speaker 2: quote kick the tigers, Tigers kick the tires on trading
- 28:31Speaker 2: to Oscar Hernandez, and Andrew Friedman did not rule out
- 28:35Speaker 2: the possibility of adding another free agent after signing Edwin Diaz.
- 28:39Speaker 2: I mean, that second part feels quite obvious. But she
- 28:43Speaker 2: alludes to the quote from Brandon Gomes on Monday at
- 28:47Speaker 2: the Winter meetings where we were saying trading to Oscar
- 28:50Speaker 2: Hernandez quote doesn't feel likely. She said, the Royals have
- 28:56Speaker 2: covered in an offense first outfielder and have interest in Tao.
- 29:00Speaker 2: According to a league source, Kratz, you can kind of
- 29:02Speaker 2: bring back what you were saying earlier as somebody who
- 29:05Speaker 2: played for the Royals.
- 29:06Speaker 1: I'm with you.
- 29:07Speaker 2: I'm like, offensively, he's perfect. Defensively, if I'm Kansas City
- 29:14Speaker 2: and I want a winning team on the field, he's
- 29:16Speaker 2: mostly dhing for me. And do they want that spot
- 29:20Speaker 2: for Salva a little bit too? How is this all
- 29:23Speaker 2: going to shape up? Maybe they just say, Kratz, you
- 29:26Speaker 2: know what, screw it, we need that kind of offense.
- 29:29Speaker 2: That kind of right handed pop is not really available
- 29:31Speaker 2: right now. And that kind of call him glue guy,
- 29:34Speaker 2: I mean, super likable guy in the clubhouse. You wouldn't
- 29:37Speaker 2: think he's available. He's available because the Dodgers have show, Hey,
- 29:41Speaker 2: Joey's going to clog up the DH spot for a
- 29:43Speaker 2: long time, as he should. So it just leads to
- 29:46Speaker 2: a roster crunch and the Dodgers might have to trade
- 29:49Speaker 2: someone away that makes them significantly better on offense, and
- 29:52Speaker 2: if they can fill that or significantly better on defense,
- 29:55Speaker 2: and they can fill that on offense. I do think
- 29:58Speaker 2: it could happen. I mean, you're getting enough for reports
- 30:00Speaker 2: out here that I feel like it's real. Do you
- 30:02Speaker 2: think the Royals could be a legit option if they
- 30:05Speaker 2: give him a lot of DH time.
- 30:08Speaker 3: I don't. I don't, just like any team that's locking
- 30:11Speaker 3: somebody up at DH. Just we're talking about Kyle Schwarber
- 30:14Speaker 3: recently signing the fact that the Dodgers right now don't
- 30:17Speaker 3: need flexibility and so it's fine, that's show. Hey is
- 30:20Speaker 3: your DH like you're talking about two elite dhs. If
- 30:23Speaker 3: you bring Tao in, obviously it's gonna cost you. It's
- 30:26Speaker 3: gonna cost you a decent amount. It might be one
- 30:28Speaker 3: of your pitchers or whatever the Dodgers are looking for.
- 30:32Speaker 3: To me, it's it's it doesn't scream a Royals move.
- 30:38Speaker 3: Tayo had five hundred and forty six played appearances last
- 30:42Speaker 3: year and walked twenty six times. The Royals don't walk
- 30:45Speaker 3: a lot, and that's probably part of the issue of
- 30:48Speaker 3: you know, they don't have a lot of power, so
- 30:50Speaker 3: teams just kind of go after them. But he struck
- 30:53Speaker 3: out one hundred and thirty four times, like he would
- 30:56Speaker 3: automatically become the largest strikeout or the highest strike out
- 31:00Speaker 3: number for this team. I don't see it.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Now.
- 31:03Speaker 3: If he was like elite defense and that's those strikeouts,
- 31:06Speaker 3: they could handle it. I just don't see where you
- 31:09Speaker 3: put him in left field because I assume Caags Jack
- 31:12Speaker 3: Haglion is still going to be in right field. And
- 31:15Speaker 3: maybe you might mix in DH between Caags if you
- 31:18Speaker 3: get another athletic outfielder oh Lane Thomas Okay and then
- 31:24Speaker 3: Vinnie Pasquentino get him off his feet, he DHS. When
- 31:27Speaker 3: Salvi goes to first base, he won't play as much
- 31:30Speaker 3: first base anymore because Felix for Mean's gone, but like
- 31:34Speaker 3: Salvi's also in there DH, and so you kind of
- 31:36Speaker 3: have that DH platooner. I just don't see it. I
- 31:39Speaker 3: heard it. I heard what they're saying. I don't think
- 31:42Speaker 3: his twenty five home runs that he had this year,
- 31:45Speaker 3: thirty three the year before really fits into what the
- 31:50Speaker 3: Royals are going after. And I know people say, well
- 31:53Speaker 3: they went and got Jorge Solaire, sorry to Tayo, but
- 31:57Speaker 3: Jorge Silaire and Tao are different power guys. I just
- 32:02Speaker 3: so I don't see it based on what the Royals
- 32:04Speaker 3: have done recently or in the past decade, fifteen years even.
- 32:09Speaker 2: And i'd for me. By the way, Todd Father has
- 32:11Speaker 2: thrown that out there for the troll.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Always say Felix because.
- 32:15Speaker 2: It's one of those where you like, you know of
- 32:17Speaker 2: Felix and then you just throw his name out there.
- 32:19Speaker 2: For me, that's what I'm here for. I'm that annoying
- 32:22Speaker 2: stack guy.
- 32:23Speaker 3: Right.
- 32:23Speaker 2: It's like Tony really back in the day on PTI.
- 32:26Speaker 2: But anyway, Todd Father, sorry, c Intera, and.
- 32:28Speaker 1: I'll be quick. I just think the Dodgers have so
- 32:30Speaker 1: many guys that they're like, let me just throw this
- 32:33Speaker 1: out there about taoscar Hernandez and see, you know, if
- 32:36Speaker 1: we can get some feelers and maybe something can happen
- 32:38Speaker 1: because they are they are the team right now that
- 32:42Speaker 1: picks up anybody and guys go there. And I think
- 32:44Speaker 1: that's truly amazing for them. I think that's unbelievable. Dave
- 32:48Speaker 1: Roberts got to be just loving Christmas every year these
- 32:51Speaker 1: past couple of years. He's been going just knowing another
- 32:54Speaker 1: gift for my team. So yeah, I don't know. I
- 32:57Speaker 1: don't know if it's true. I just think they might
- 33:00Speaker 1: be something and putting a feeler out there to see
- 33:02Speaker 1: maybe they can catch, you know, a big fish, you know,
- 33:04Speaker 1: and all of a sudden like, oh, all right, well
- 33:06Speaker 1: this did work, so we'll see what happens. I love
- 33:09Speaker 1: Teoscar Hernandez. I mean, he's a playoff guy. He steps
- 33:12Speaker 1: up to the plate all the time. Yeah, we talk
- 33:14Speaker 1: about defense, but we'll gets you to the big leagues
- 33:17Speaker 1: hitting and that's all he does.
- 33:20Speaker 2: And does he hit enough to be a full time DH?
- 33:22Speaker 2: I think so, especially for certain teams. No, Kratz. See
- 33:26Speaker 2: the thing is, I think that's where he has to
- 33:27Speaker 2: transition pretty quickly. I think already next year you should
- 33:31Speaker 2: be looking at fifty percent of his days in the
- 33:35Speaker 2: outfield at most. I don't want to put him in
- 33:38Speaker 2: Jordan Alvarez status, but the Astros did recently bring up
- 33:42Speaker 2: how their plan is to primarily DH him. They had
- 33:45Speaker 2: been toying with a little outfield the past couple of seasons.
- 33:48Speaker 2: This past season he was hurt a ton, and I
- 33:50Speaker 2: think they just want to let him do what he does.
- 33:52Speaker 2: We know that Tao is not you were done. But
- 33:55Speaker 2: there are some teams that could use this. How about Pittsburgh.
- 34:02Speaker 3: Yeah, obviously there's teams that could use it. Not everybody
- 34:05Speaker 3: has a I think he's a career one nineteen ops plus,
- 34:10Speaker 3: so yes, he's got some career one thirty five ops
- 34:14Speaker 3: seasons and then last year it was it was uh
- 34:18Speaker 3: one O three. I think it was his ops last year. Like,
- 34:23Speaker 3: I get what you're saying, Could he DH? Yes? He could?
- 34:27Speaker 3: Are you asking me is he the DH for a
- 34:31Speaker 3: World Series contending team? I think the Royals have made
- 34:34Speaker 3: moves recently, and they continue to make moves to push
- 34:37Speaker 3: towards their new stadium, obviously, but also pushed towards wanting
- 34:42Speaker 3: to get back to the World Series. They have a
- 34:44Speaker 3: pitching staff that is really good, but they're brought into Kaufman.
- 34:49Speaker 3: They're brought into Kansas City to be able to do
- 34:51Speaker 3: what they do with a defense behind them. And you
- 34:54Speaker 3: get extra value out of guys like a Seth Lugo,
- 34:57Speaker 3: like a Michael Waka. Obviously Cole Reagan's when he's on
- 35:01Speaker 3: he doesn't need any defense. I mean, you're talking about
- 35:04Speaker 3: a guy that almost had one hundred strikeouts in sixty
- 35:06Speaker 3: or seventy innings. So there's different ways of doing it.
- 35:11Speaker 3: I just I don't know that Taoscar. Yes, the Dodgers
- 35:16Speaker 3: could eat if the Dodgers eat ten million a year
- 35:19Speaker 3: of his contract, then you're talking, Okay, we're paying Taoscar
- 35:24Speaker 3: ten million a year to be our DH more palatable.
- 35:29Speaker 3: But I don't know that he's not the upper He
- 35:32Speaker 3: wouldn't be an upper tier DH. And he could go
- 35:35Speaker 3: out this year and have a ridiculous season because he's
- 35:38Speaker 3: shown that he has that ability. Just last year was
- 35:41Speaker 3: a tough year to put that out there, and they
- 35:43Speaker 3: just signed him to the contract. Last year we were
- 35:45Speaker 3: talking about him being a serviceable outfielder. I don't think
- 35:48Speaker 3: his defense. I think he could still get another year
- 35:52Speaker 3: to maybe two years out of his defense in this count.
- 35:55Speaker 2: Yeah, but he's worth what half, if not a third
- 35:59Speaker 2: of what you're talking to out with the Kyle Schwarber contract.
- 36:02Speaker 2: Shorber's only a DH. He's not Shorber. But Shoreber's signed
- 36:05Speaker 2: up for one fifty contract. Is not even half that. No,
- 36:09Speaker 2: I know he's not Shoorber. My point is I started
- 36:12Speaker 2: to like the idea the more I said it. There's
- 36:14Speaker 2: not right handed hitting outfield pop slash DH pop out.
- 36:18Speaker 2: There not a lot of it right on the free
- 36:20Speaker 2: agent market, and it's super expensive the team. I keep
- 36:23Speaker 2: going back to is a club like Pittsburgh. I believe
- 36:25Speaker 2: Pittsburgh will add and impact bat. Do I believe they
- 36:29Speaker 2: will be able to add that bat from free agency?
- 36:31Speaker 2: Probably not. They're going to have to significantly overpay to
- 36:34Speaker 2: talk someone into that situation. Given what they've done, you
- 36:38Speaker 2: have to trade for a player like that. I could
- 36:40Speaker 2: see them trading for someone like that. They should be
- 36:42Speaker 2: in the running for people like this. Maybe you think
- 36:44Speaker 2: I'm off, but they need so much on offense. They
- 36:47Speaker 2: need everything. They need contact, they need power, they need
- 36:50Speaker 2: walks like anybody that is an above average offensive player
- 36:53Speaker 2: could immediately be their best hitter. That's how much of
- 36:56Speaker 2: a difference it could make. So if they have the
- 36:58Speaker 2: money to spend. They clearly threw out one hundred and
- 37:01Speaker 2: twenty million dollars. This is half that to get Tay.
- 37:03Speaker 2: You might be able to get him in trade for
- 37:04Speaker 2: somebody else too. Pittsburgh has prospects. Their farm system is
- 37:08Speaker 2: definitely top ten, if not close to top five, top
- 37:11Speaker 2: ten to be fair, I think this could be a
- 37:14Speaker 2: spot for them, that's all.
- 37:16Speaker 3: I agree, And that would be a massive There's there's
- 37:18Speaker 3: only a few teams out there that Tay Oscar Hernandez
- 37:22Speaker 3: would be a massive upgrade. I went to a game
- 37:24Speaker 3: in April. Emmanuel Valdez was hitting fourth for the Pirates.
- 37:30Speaker 3: Like when you start your season in April and you
- 37:33Speaker 3: don't have a clear, cleanup hitter, you don't have a
- 37:36Speaker 3: clear bat in that spot in the order, Like, yeah,
- 37:41Speaker 3: he'd be a massive upgrade. I would love to see this,
- 37:44Speaker 3: But can they afford to get rid of prospect? And again,
- 37:47Speaker 3: I don't know where the Dodgers, the Dodgers would want.
- 37:51Speaker 3: I know you're you're talking about eating a lot of
- 37:53Speaker 3: a lot of money, like I said before, from a
- 37:56Speaker 3: contract that was just signed. It's not like there's a
- 37:58Speaker 3: five year deal and now we're in year three of
- 38:01Speaker 3: his down of his decline. They signed it three year
- 38:05Speaker 3: deal last year. It was it three or four years.
- 38:08Speaker 3: I'm sorry I blanked right there, but talking yep, Okay,
- 38:13Speaker 3: it was it was the first year where he had
- 38:16Speaker 3: the down year here and I trust that he bounces back. Okay,
- 38:21Speaker 3: I thought it was a three year deal. I think
- 38:23Speaker 3: it's twenty two a year or something like that. I
- 38:26Speaker 3: just I like Tayo as a player, But I think
- 38:30Speaker 3: it would depend on how much money they're looking to
- 38:32Speaker 3: eat and where it's going. But if they go after
- 38:36Speaker 3: Kyle Tucker, then I see I see no spot for Tayo,
- 38:41Speaker 3: especially because Jeremy Meyer in our chat he brought up
- 38:46Speaker 3: a good point. Is Andy Pahes the playoff Andy Pajes
- 38:50Speaker 3: or is he the regular season Andy Pajes, Because if
- 38:54Speaker 3: you're losing some offense, like you need more offense out
- 38:57Speaker 3: of the outfield because you had any combination of Confordo,
- 39:02Speaker 3: Pajes and Tao, and now you get rid of Taeo,
- 39:06Speaker 3: you'll probably get rid of Teyo to put up Bellinger.
- 39:09Speaker 3: I don't both think Bellinger's coming back there or you're
- 39:11Speaker 3: putting a Tucker in there. I just there's questions there.
- 39:16Speaker 3: But they're questions as far as like are the Dodgers
- 39:18Speaker 3: going to repeat or not, not like ooh if they
- 39:21Speaker 3: don't figure this out, but Dodgers aren't going to make
- 39:23Speaker 3: the playoffs. No, that's not what we're saying.
- 39:26Speaker 2: Three years sixty six with deferrals. Net present value of
- 39:29Speaker 2: that deal when it was signed was three years about
- 39:31Speaker 2: fifty eight million bucks. So you're looking at less than
- 39:35Speaker 2: twenty million year on net present value for a player
- 39:38Speaker 2: like that, and now it's just two years left in
- 39:40Speaker 2: the contract, he said, And he told us on our
- 39:41Speaker 2: show that he took less money to sign with the Dodgers,
- 39:44Speaker 2: so I'm sure he'd be a little pissed. He's probably
- 39:46Speaker 2: not pleased seeing his name pop up in what I
- 39:48Speaker 2: think are legit trade rumors. But just throwing it out there,
- 39:59Speaker 2: bet MGM futures. We're looking at the braves today for
- 40:03Speaker 2: the NL pennant ten to one odds for ATL were
- 40:07Speaker 2: feeling frisky with this number, Todd Father. They picked up
- 40:10Speaker 2: a couple pieces yesterday. I mean, I really loved the
- 40:13Speaker 2: Bullpen ad, but even the Mike yeasad too, to give
- 40:17Speaker 2: them a little more depth and flexibility with the roster.
- 40:20Speaker 2: Now it's Robert Suarez and Rycelgalacias at the back end.
- 40:23Speaker 2: You're gonna get a full healthy season, hopefully from Ronald
- 40:26Speaker 2: Acuna junior. And they were missing most of their starting rotation.
- 40:29Speaker 2: What do you guys, what do you guys coming up
- 40:31Speaker 2: with over there? It looks like you're up to no good.
- 40:33Speaker 1: I don't know. I look out of brothers. I get angry.
- 40:39Speaker 2: You guys are extra far away from each other today.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Oh well, Kratz is also sitting in my share.
- 40:44Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true too. He doesn't want to ruin your spot. Yeah,
- 40:49Speaker 1: I would dabble here, I would dabble a little bit.
- 40:51Speaker 3: Why not.
- 40:52Speaker 1: They picked up a couple of good guys. Love Robert Swarz,
- 40:58Speaker 1: you know a little bit on there, you, I mean,
- 41:01Speaker 1: plus one thousand is a lot. But do I see
- 41:04Speaker 1: them being the Dodgers now? But I don't know. You
- 41:08Speaker 1: never know what can happen. There's still more stuff to
- 41:10Speaker 1: get picked. There's still more guys that need to get
- 41:11Speaker 1: picked up. So doing it right now and then all
- 41:14Speaker 1: of a sudden it could get lower or could get higher.
- 41:17Speaker 3: You don't think that. You don't think their starting rotation
- 41:19Speaker 3: can compete against the Dodgers lineup? No sale, Strider, Schwell
- 41:25Speaker 3: and Boch. You're gonna have Ronaldo Lopez back because clearly
- 41:29Speaker 3: they don't need to transition into the bullpen? Who do that?
- 41:32Speaker 3: Miss grand Wall drip too.
- 41:36Speaker 1: I do like them, I do, I do like them.
- 41:38Speaker 3: I just that to me. That's why I love Yeah,
- 41:41Speaker 3: go ahead, I love the tender one. I really really
- 41:44Speaker 3: like that number. I mean, anytime anytime I get into thousands,
- 41:47Speaker 3: I'm like, yeah, give it to me, But.
- 41:50Speaker 1: Do it for the Marlins.
- 41:51Speaker 3: Then the lineup has to the lineup has come around.
- 41:56Speaker 3: I will not do it for them. True, they do
- 41:58Speaker 3: have a good picture. You're right, they have good starting rotation.
- 42:01Speaker 3: They always have good depth.
- 42:03Speaker 1: But you never know, like I said, they could pick
- 42:05Speaker 1: up somebody down the road here and all of a
- 42:07Speaker 1: sudden it goes to plus eight hundred plus seven hundred.
- 42:09Speaker 3: I don't think it. I don't think they have a
- 42:12Speaker 3: big move in their cast. Like to me, if they
- 42:15Speaker 3: get if they get a Sun Kim to play shortstop,
- 42:20Speaker 3: does that move the number off of plus one thousand.
- 42:23Speaker 3: I'm waiting. I'm waiting. I'm waiting until the season. But
- 42:26Speaker 3: if it's still at plus one thousand, I will. I
- 42:29Speaker 3: will take some of that because I think they're still
- 42:32Speaker 3: a good team, but the offense needs to needs to
- 42:35Speaker 3: bring it consistently. A full season of Akunya Michael Harris's
- 42:39Speaker 3: swing change is clearly worked from halfway point of the season,
- 42:45Speaker 3: and well, profar I might not be on the good goods,
- 42:49Speaker 3: so you know, you might just not get too much.
- 42:52Speaker 2: They might pick up a few extra wins. Have you
- 42:55Speaker 2: seen the Mets roster lately? Bet MGM throughout four potential
- 42:59Speaker 2: candidate to join the team in spring training.
- 43:02Speaker 1: The bottom line, Stone Cold.
- 43:06Speaker 2: Stone called Steve Austin. What's the King of Queen's real name?
- 43:10Speaker 2: Kevin James, Kevin James.
- 43:13Speaker 3: Paul I'm saying, like, all cop, who's who's the best athlete?
- 43:19Speaker 1: After what? Jared?
- 43:21Speaker 3: That four?
- 43:22Speaker 1: Of that four? I would say, are you joking?
- 43:28Speaker 2: What Stone cald Steve Austin is a freak?
- 43:32Speaker 1: No? I thought you're just talking about baseball only.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Sorry, oh oh baseball player.
- 43:36Speaker 1: Like if you had to pick right, is that what
- 43:38Speaker 1: you like? Somebody?
- 43:39Speaker 3: And that somebody that four has to hit second in
- 43:42Speaker 3: your line up? Somebody?
- 43:43Speaker 1: And listen, you said athlete. He might be a good wrestler.
- 43:45Speaker 1: I don't think he's good at basketball, baseball, maybe football.
- 43:50Speaker 3: Scott Scott thinks just because you have muscles that you're good,
- 43:53Speaker 3: that you're a good athlete. Scott's like, check out these
- 43:55Speaker 3: boss steps? Do these aren't athletic?
- 43:58Speaker 1: You don't think?
- 43:59Speaker 2: You don't think Stone Cold Steve Austin can can bang
- 44:02Speaker 2: down low and grab some rebounds, block some shots and
- 44:05Speaker 2: box out half the team and a wrecking who's.
- 44:09Speaker 3: Getting a hit first? Of those four? Paul Blart mall cop.
- 44:17Speaker 3: Adam Sandler is the one for me.
- 44:20Speaker 2: He said athlete athlete. If he said who's getting a knock?
- 44:24Speaker 2: I would have said Sandler, I'm with you. And Sandler
- 44:25Speaker 2: looks like in that picture it might be old.
- 44:27Speaker 1: He's got some forearms, play some basketball too. I've seen
- 44:30Speaker 1: him on the streets.
- 44:31Speaker 3: If these four pictures were FT hosts, obviously Scott is
- 44:36Speaker 3: sena which which.
- 44:39Speaker 1: You said seen it's not seeing its stone?
- 44:41Speaker 3: What did I say, John Cena, I'm sorry I did this.
- 44:44Speaker 3: I did this stone called Steve Austin is obviously.
- 44:47Speaker 2: My favorite wrestler growing up.
- 44:50Speaker 3: Wow. Okay, so so which which of those other three
- 44:54Speaker 3: are you?
- 44:56Speaker 1: I'll go I'll go with Sandler.
- 45:00Speaker 3: Okay, I mean my career would say I'm Jerry Seinfeld,
- 45:03Speaker 3: but I feel like I'm I'm the mall cop them.
- 45:06Speaker 1: Yeah, you would be Paul Blart. But the thing is
- 45:08Speaker 1: you lost a lot of weight. You can't.
- 45:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I have not lost any weight. I'm literally you
- 45:14Speaker 3: were graduating. I appreciate you. You're making me blush at
- 45:18Speaker 3: Christmas here, but no, I literally wait, did you lose
- 45:20Speaker 3: I weigh two hundred and fifty pounds ever since my
- 45:23Speaker 3: senior year.
- 45:23Speaker 1: Of how about now two and fifty pounds, no chance,
- 45:28Speaker 1: I don't believe. I say two forty.
- 45:32Speaker 2: That's dangs. He's got your over under it to forty
- 45:38Speaker 2: and a half anyway, no matter the matchup, betting with
- 45:43Speaker 2: bet MGM boosted odds makes every basket feel a little sweeter.
- 45:47Speaker 2: Activate your odds boost token for any college basketball bet.
- 45:49Speaker 2: You'll receive a bigger payout if that bet wins gets
- 45:52Speaker 2: up for tip off with bett mg and we miss baseball,
- 45:55Speaker 2: but there are other sports in action. If you feel
- 45:58Speaker 2: the need gambling problem more concern, please call one eight
- 46:02Speaker 2: hundred gambler. I had two more items to get to.
- 46:05Speaker 2: Let's skew this tweet from Chris Catillo, and it's in
- 46:11Speaker 2: reference to Sean McAdam, who also covers the Red Sox
- 46:14Speaker 2: on a daily basis. They did not want to go
- 46:19Speaker 2: long on Pete Alonzo. Apparently they fell pretty far behind,
- 46:23Speaker 2: but they did go for him, so that's interesting. They
- 46:26Speaker 2: were in on him. Tell me if you've heard that
- 46:28Speaker 2: one before. Chris Catillo said, speaking in general terms and
- 46:31Speaker 2: not specifically about the failed Alonzo talks, one prominent agent
- 46:35Speaker 2: noted of the Red Sox they don't believe in long
- 46:39Speaker 2: term deals. I will push back a bit. I mean,
- 46:42Speaker 2: how long did they just sign Garrett Crochet for? Like,
- 46:45Speaker 2: they don't have anybody on long term contracts. They traded
- 46:49Speaker 2: away Raphael Devers, but what two three years ago they
- 46:52Speaker 2: gave him a long term deal. Maybe that's the game
- 46:56Speaker 2: plan this offseason, and if so, good luck getting Alex
- 47:01Speaker 2: Bragman for less than five years. I don't know if
- 47:05Speaker 2: I believe this one or if it's one agent who's
- 47:08Speaker 2: pissed about his particular player or players not getting long
- 47:12Speaker 2: term offers right, because I do think that they're going
- 47:15Speaker 2: to send a decent quote, long term offer Alex Bragman's way.
- 47:19Speaker 2: So this is maybe some other agent that's like, ah,
- 47:21Speaker 2: they're not going after my player the way they should.
- 47:23Speaker 2: I think they're going to offer Bregman at least five
- 47:26Speaker 2: years in today's game, Isn't that a long term offer?
- 47:30Speaker 3: I think that's a long term offer. And I think
- 47:32Speaker 3: Alex Bregman like like Kyle Schwarber to the Phillies, it's
- 47:39Speaker 3: a different level. We're talking about something different. Like I
- 47:42Speaker 3: think I heard somebody say it, had somebody offered, had
- 47:47Speaker 3: somebody offered six years, one sixty five to Kyle Schwarber?
- 47:53Speaker 3: The Phillies would have come back and done that. I
- 47:55Speaker 3: think the same can be said about Bregman. Yes, they
- 47:59Speaker 3: might not want long term deals on guys that are unknown.
- 48:03Speaker 3: This is why, this is why you had a trial period,
- 48:07Speaker 3: you had. You dated Alex Bregman last year, and now
- 48:09Speaker 3: it's time to put a ring on it. Like I think,
- 48:12Speaker 3: I think they'll go. I think they'll go longer with him.
- 48:15Speaker 3: I think I'm now, I don't know that they want
- 48:18Speaker 3: to be known as a team that has to try
- 48:22Speaker 3: to backfill a guy that came in and really made
- 48:25Speaker 3: a lot of positive waves in that young clubhouse. So
- 48:28Speaker 3: I think this would be maybe they don't want to
- 48:31Speaker 3: go long term, and they showed it by getting rid
- 48:33Speaker 3: of Raffie Devers and all the drama that was around that.
- 48:37Speaker 3: But Bregman, I think is Bregman is different. Alonso unknown
- 48:42Speaker 3: commodity for them in that clubhouse. Bregman known commodity.
- 48:48Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean to say, you're not gonna do long
- 48:51Speaker 1: term deals.
- 48:52Speaker 3: I've it won't work out.
- 48:54Speaker 1: I don't get it. Yeah, it never does, right, I
- 48:57Speaker 1: don't know, And that's that's you won't get the of
- 49:00Speaker 1: the names. I think that's the way going these long
- 49:02Speaker 1: term deals are for the greatest of baseball players. So
- 49:08Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm not sure what they're thinking is
- 49:10Speaker 1: in their logic there.
- 49:13Speaker 2: I think they just won't give long term deals to
- 49:15Speaker 2: certain players.
- 49:17Speaker 3: I think certain type of player.
- 49:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I understand that. I mean, look at the Mets
- 49:23Speaker 2: just now. They didn't believe that Pete Alonso merited a
- 49:26Speaker 2: long term deal. They completely laid that out right. For
- 49:29Speaker 2: as much as that team spends, they did not feel
- 49:31Speaker 2: like that type of player was going to age the
- 49:34Speaker 2: way they wanted him to. Baltimore disagreed, and there you go.
- 49:39Speaker 2: Looks like they didn't want to go more than like
- 49:41Speaker 2: threeish years for him Tops. So anyway, one more. Mark
- 49:46Speaker 2: Shapiro has been running the Blue Jays for a long time.
- 49:49Speaker 2: Ross Atkins works under him, but Shapiro gets signed up
- 49:52Speaker 2: for five more years. So Shi Davidi reported how this
- 49:57Speaker 2: is going to set him up for a total of
- 49:58Speaker 2: a fifteen year run on top of the franchise, and
- 50:03Speaker 2: he's the president and the CEO of the team since
- 50:06Speaker 2: the end of the twenty fifteen season. Top Father. For
- 50:09Speaker 2: a while, it looked like a tenure that was not fulfilling,
- 50:16Speaker 2: especially lately when they had superstar players like Flattie and
- 50:19Speaker 2: Bo and it's incredible how one postseason run changes everything,
- 50:23Speaker 2: because it really did.
- 50:26Speaker 1: Yeah, and time, give this guy. Give give somebody time.
- 50:31Speaker 1: It's not like running a ship. It's hard to do.
- 50:33Speaker 1: Sometimes you need time, you need a little more effort,
- 50:36Speaker 1: you need to figure out who works well here and there.
- 50:39Speaker 1: And now you're seeing it's paying off. And they had
- 50:41Speaker 1: a really big opportunity to win this World Series and
- 50:44Speaker 1: that would have been the icing on the cake for him.
- 50:45Speaker 1: But they have a big opportunity to come back and
- 50:49Speaker 1: do what they do. So congratulations to him. That's that's
- 50:52Speaker 1: really great for the Blue jack.
- 50:53Speaker 3: They gave him too much time. In my opinion, Okay,
- 50:56Speaker 3: this should not be his This should not be his extension,
- 50:58Speaker 3: this should not have been his In my opinion, it
- 51:00Speaker 3: should not have been his World Series team. Ultimately, it's
- 51:04Speaker 3: always about the players on the field. But to me,
- 51:07Speaker 3: I felt like his time was overextended in Toronto, and
- 51:14Speaker 3: I went on plenty of radio stations saying that. So
- 51:17Speaker 3: I have to go back and now say, maybe we
- 51:20Speaker 3: should have trusted the roster he was putting together. Maybe
- 51:24Speaker 3: that you know the fact that he wasn't going back
- 51:27Speaker 3: out and getting the pieces that had success in Toronto,
- 51:32Speaker 3: the Matt Chapmans, the Brandon Belts or those types. And
- 51:37Speaker 3: I saw a decline from the previous seasons and they
- 51:42Speaker 3: weren't going to get those guys. And now this offseason,
- 51:46Speaker 3: look at what they did. They went out and got
- 51:48Speaker 3: Andre Samenez Platinum Glove winner. They doubled tripled down on
- 51:51Speaker 3: their defense. Ale hunter Kirk got some stability and had
- 51:55Speaker 3: one of his better years again behind the plates. Vladimir Guerrero.
- 52:00Speaker 3: To me, that was, you know, ownership that wasn't necessarily
- 52:02Speaker 3: front office, but I was the one banging the drum
- 52:06Speaker 3: that I felt like a lot of the issues of
- 52:09Speaker 3: why the Blue Jays couldn't turn it around and ultimately
- 52:12Speaker 3: finished last in the American League East was because of
- 52:16Speaker 3: Ross Atkins and Mark Shapiro, and I clearly am wrong
- 52:20Speaker 3: because now they got five year extension for a guy
- 52:24Speaker 3: that I thought was out the door about a year
- 52:26Speaker 3: and a half ago.
- 52:30Speaker 2: Yeah, it was bad until it wasn't and now it's great,
- 52:33Speaker 2: So props to him. A lot of this stuff's about timing, too.
- 52:37Speaker 2: Nailed it on timing, nail yailed it. I mean this
- 52:41Speaker 2: was magical. They lit up Canada, so they give them credit.
- 52:45Speaker 2: It took longer than many people wanted it to, but
- 52:49Speaker 2: it's only one team out of fifteen that's going to
- 52:51Speaker 2: represent the American League each year in the World Series,
- 52:54Speaker 2: and the Blue Jays were able to get as close
- 52:56Speaker 2: as you can get to pulling off the title. So
- 52:58Speaker 2: congrats to Shapiro and the Blue Jays keeping the front
- 53:01Speaker 2: office intact there and now let's lap hey shout out
- 53:16Speaker 2: to the team behind the scenes that helps us put
- 53:18Speaker 2: together the newsletter each week. There's the QR code. It's
- 53:20Speaker 2: on your screen right now. Leadoff Newsletter. If you're listening
- 53:23Speaker 2: on podcast, we posted a tweet with the little preview
- 53:27Speaker 2: and a link to sign up to it. It costs
- 53:29Speaker 2: a whopping zero dollars. It comes out once a week
- 53:32Speaker 2: and it gives you a little recap of what we
- 53:34Speaker 2: hit on the show, some of the big guests, the
- 53:36Speaker 2: whole deal. So if you want to just give us
- 53:38Speaker 2: a little appreciation, we're not going to spam you to death.
- 53:41Speaker 2: We just throw one in there a week. Usually on Fridays,
- 53:44Speaker 2: it's the ft Leadoff Newsletter. Next week we're on full
- 53:49Speaker 2: normal week, there'll probably be twenty million signings. I mean that,
- 53:52Speaker 2: in all seriousness, there's still a lot of activity left
- 53:54Speaker 2: to go. We had a really fun week at the
- 53:56Speaker 2: Winter Meetings, but in terms of volume, there wasn't a
- 53:59Speaker 2: ton a volume of deals. There were high impact deals.
- 54:03Speaker 2: That's good for us. That means next week it's gonna
- 54:05Speaker 2: be awesome. I really believe that. Leading up to Christmas
- 54:08Speaker 2: time here, leading up to like the twenty third, which
- 54:10Speaker 2: is when we stop down for a little bit at
- 54:11Speaker 2: least with the live shows, it's gonna be lit crat hats.
- 54:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 54:17Speaker 3: The reason that there's no volume is because everybody was
- 54:20Speaker 3: coming on our show. If you go back and watch
- 54:21Speaker 3: some of our shows from the Winter Meetings, everybody was
- 54:25Speaker 3: on FT. I mean, how can I not My hero
- 54:29Speaker 3: is Todd Fraser. How can I not wear Todd Fraser's hat? Ah,
- 54:34Speaker 3: Todd gave me this hat? Oh wait, no, Todd did
- 54:36Speaker 3: not give me this hat. But I'm aware of reds.
- 54:38Speaker 1: I want to keep it here.
- 54:40Speaker 3: You know, you know, what are you to use as
- 54:42Speaker 3: a trash.
- 54:43Speaker 1: Can as big as this rock rock red stuff all
- 54:45Speaker 1: the time? Us people and Tom's Ever, when I go to.
- 54:47Speaker 3: Grocery store, I'm not saying you're not gonna this. That
- 54:51Speaker 3: won't fit you. You'll put it on your head and
- 54:53Speaker 3: you'll turn and it'll just stay at the same place.
- 54:56Speaker 3: Five eights.
- 54:57Speaker 1: I'm a half my best gut.
- 55:01Speaker 2: Yeah, you can put your your cereal in that thing top.
- 55:05Speaker 2: Father wash it first.
- 55:06Speaker 1: But some honey Cora. I want a big bowl of
- 55:12Speaker 1: honey may one. Honeycombs, May one honeycombs. Uh.
- 55:18Speaker 2: Happy Friday people, We will see you on Monday FT
- 55:23Speaker 2: Live and actually we're working on some special content that
- 55:26Speaker 2: everyone will be able to check out during the winter
- 55:29Speaker 2: break between Christmas and New Year's so stay tuned for
- 55:32Speaker 2: that and we'll see you on Monday.
- 55:35Speaker 3: See you
