- 0:15us down. Yes, Father, we acknowledge your
- 0:19supremacy over all of our emotions.
- 0:22We acknowledge your supremacy over our very lives over the
- 0:27next breath that we draw over every heartbeat.

- 0:38your authority today, Lord, out of reverence and a holy fear.
- 0:45God, we are in awe of you. Lord, you are worthy to be
- 0:52praised, and God, we are so in love with you, and we love
- 0:58because you love well. And you are a good and faithful
- 1:04ABBA. You are faithful to the ages.
- 1:09From everlasting to everlasting, You reign supreme.
- 1:13Holy Spirit, teach us your ways today.
- 1:16Guide us. Guide my thoughts and my words
- 1:19today as I open up your scriptures.
- 1:23Teach us today, show us the eternal paths, show us the way
- 1:31to the Father. And we just want more of you.
- 1:34King Jesus, we love you. Let me get out of the way.
- 1:40Hide me, hide my thoughts, hide my words.
- 1:43I decrease as you increase. Lord, I pray for marriages all
- 1:50around the world. Lord, strengthen them in this
- 1:53hour. Let us be ministers of
- 1:55reconciliation. Lord, I pray the prodigals come
- 1:59home. God, I pray that father's will
- 2:04father well, And I pray that you will continue to have your will
- 2:10and have your way in this land and throughout the globe.
- 2:14We love you. Lord, I pray that you'll
- 2:18strengthen the church in this hour.
- 2:22Lord, I pray that you increase our zeal for your house which
- 2:27has consumed us. We thank you for these holy
- 2:30scriptures. We thank you for the inerrant,
- 2:33infallible word. God, you are so mighty and so
- 2:37gracious and so loving and so kind.
- 2:40We love you, King Jesus, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.
- 2:49Let's start in verse one. And when they drew near unto
- 2:55Jerusalem and were come to Bethpage in the Mount of Olives,
- 3:01then sent Jesus 2 disciples. What's he talking about here in
- 3:06verse one? Well, he's coming in.
- 3:10He is on a he's been on a journey from Jericho.
- 3:14He's coming into the city here and he's telling the disciples
- 3:19to go and to fetch this donkey in her colt.
- 3:25And here you're you're going to notice that he is standing on
- 3:28the Mount of Olives. And when He comes back at His
- 3:31second advent, this is the way that He will enter into
- 3:35Jerusalem through the Eastgate. Friends too, saying unto them,
- 3:41Go into the village over against you, and straightway you shall
- 3:44find an ass tied in a colt with her.
- 3:47Loose them, and bring them unto Me.
- 3:50He has all dominion and power. He has already went in and
- 3:55prepared the hearts and minds of His servants, and He's already
- 4:00went in and prepared the hearts and minds of those who love Him.
- 4:04And it is easy for Him. He tells the disciples and they
- 4:08obey, and it is the love of Jesus that creates the obedience
- 4:13unto him, and we can trust him, because he is trustworthy and
- 4:18true. 3 And if any man say ought unto you, you shall say, the
- 4:22Lord has need of them, and straightway he will send them.
- 4:26That should be our obedience. Friends, is straightway we
- 4:31don't. We don't need to figure out all
- 4:33the details. All we need to do is obey
- 4:36because we love Him. For all this was done that it
- 4:40might be fulfilled, which was spoken by the prophet saying so.
- 4:46This was prophesied that Jesus would come in and look at how
- 4:50the mother was right alongside of this cult of the foal.
- 4:55And Jesus was writing a foal that had never been ridden
- 5:01before and the mother was there to keep it at a pace.
- 5:09The mother was there to keep it from throwing off our Lord.
- 5:14And look at how confident the Lord was to ride on this young
- 5:20donkey. 5 Tell you, the daughter of Zion, behold, the king comes
- 5:28unto the meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt, the foal of
- 5:33an ass. So here you can see King Jesus
- 5:36riding in just as it was prophesied. 6 And the disciples
- 5:42went and did as Jesus commanded them.
- 5:44Seven And he brought the ass and the colt, and put on them their
- 5:48clothes, and they set him on it. Can you imagine King Jesus, the
- 5:53Lord of Lords, the King of kings?
- 5:55He has dominion even over the beasts, not just over mankind,
- 6:01but the whole earth is the Lord's and everything in it.
- 6:06We would do well to know that He created all of it by the breath
- 6:10of His mouth. Of course He has dominion over
- 6:14an unbroken colt, and He rode in smoothly, but it was wisdom to
- 6:21bring the Mother along. A and a great, very great
- 6:26multitude spread their garments in the way.
- 6:28Others cut down branches from the trees and strawed them in
- 6:32the way. This is Palm Sunday.
- 6:35This is when they all went out to cry Hosanna in the highest,
- 6:39and they were welcoming A Liberator, but he did not come
- 6:43on his War Horse, and it was confusing to those who were
- 6:49intermingling. Two different prophecies, one of
- 6:53the first advent of the Suffering Servant and the second
- 6:57being the victorious conqueror that he will come back as.
- 7:02He's not coming back meek and mild.
- 7:05He's coming back as the roaring Lion of Judah.
- 7:08He's coming back as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords and
- 7:14faithful and true. He's coming back with a double
- 7:17edged sword from his mouth, and he will annihilate all of his
- 7:21enemies. 9 And the multitudes that went before and followed
- 7:28cried, saying Hosanna to the son of David.
- 7:32Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord.
- 7:34Hosanna in the highest the Lord saves.
- 7:42Here they are crying out praises in the highest, and they had
- 7:49come out to see their Liberator who is going to free them from
- 7:54the tyranny of the Romans. They were not coming out to meet
- 7:58their savior of the world who would save them from their sins,
- 8:03friends. 10 And when he was coming to Jerusalem, all the
- 8:09city was moved, saying, Who is this?
- 8:13Just imagine when Jesus was born, all of the city was
- 8:18disturbed because of the news of the Magi that the King of the
- 8:22Jews had been born. And here towards the end of his
- 8:26life they are all moved because the city is in an uproar over
- 8:32this Liberator coming in. And they had missed the whole
- 8:36point of it all, that he was coming to give him, to give
- 8:41himself as a ransom for many to be the Saviour of the world. 11
- 8:48in the multitude said, this is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth,
- 8:52of Galilee. So here you can see that Jesus
- 8:57was again being degraded and relegated down to just a citizen
- 9:03of Nazareth. And if you remember, it was
- 9:07said, does anything good come out of Nazareth, such a obscure
- 9:11small town? And they were all all turned
- 9:16around because Jesus was the carpenter's son and they knew
- 9:20his mother and his sisters were there with them and his
- 9:23brothers. And here he is causing this big
- 9:27scene in Jerusalem leading right up to the Passover, leading
- 9:34right up to the sacrificial giving of Himself.
- 9:41This is the Passion Week getting kicked off with a bang here. 12
- 9:48And Jesus went into the temple of God, and he cast out all them
- 9:53that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables
- 9:57of the money changers and the seats of them that sold doves.
- 10:02Look at how Jesus, this was the second time that he had entered
- 10:05into the temple and overthrew the money changers.
- 10:09He did it, if you read in the book of John, he did it at the
- 10:12beginning of his ministry and then here again at the end, he's
- 10:16doing it again. Look at how Jesus is indignant
- 10:23with those that have made his Father's house.
- 10:25That should be a place of prayer for the Gentiles to come into
- 10:29the outer court and to pray and to learn about the Lord.
- 10:34They had turned it into a marketplace.
- 10:37They had turned it and fuelled it into a place where people
- 10:43would come and sell all of the sacrifices that were to be
- 10:49given. And it was a lucrative business
- 10:54and it was not a place to come and learn about the Lord as it
- 10:59was intended. And Jesus saw it, and he made
- 11:03sure to cleanse the temple, and to purify the temple, and to
- 11:08consecrate the temple during this time. 13 And said unto
- 11:15them, It is written, My house shall be called the House of
- 11:18prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves.
- 11:22So here Jesus is letting them know how God truly feels about
- 11:26what they have done in his temple. 14 And the blind in the
- 11:30lane came to him in the temple, and he healed them.
- 11:33This was him putting the stamp on the fact that he was the
- 11:39Messiah. It was proven to them from the
- 11:42miracles that he was doing. Even here at the last week of
- 11:46his life, He was still healing them.
- 11:50He was healing the blind. He was healing the lame. 15 And
- 11:57when the chief priests and the scribe saw the wonderful things
- 12:00that he did in the children crying in the temple, saying
- 12:04hosanna to the son of David, they were sore displeased.
- 12:10You know, he did not refuse worship.
- 12:13He did not refuse the title Son of David, which was the
- 12:17messianic title. He accepted it because he was
- 12:21all God and all man. And it is this beautiful picture
- 12:28of our Lord Jesus being praised by the children there in the
- 12:32temple. And we would do well to become
- 12:36like little children, to have the faith of little children.
- 12:39We should not harden our hearts, friends.
- 12:42We need to be softened in our approach and just believe like
- 12:47little children, that ABBA can do anything.
- 12:51He feeds us, He clothes us, and with that we should be content.
- 12:5616 And said unto him, Do you hear what they say?
- 13:01And Jesus said unto them, Yes, Have you never read Out of the
- 13:06mouth of babes and sucklings? You have perfected praise?
- 13:11So you can see here out of the mouth of the infants and babes,
- 13:16that Jesus is being perfected and praised by them.
- 13:21And you can see this beautiful scene and the religious leaders
- 13:27had become so incredibly incensed against Jesus Christ,
- 13:32they refused to even hearken and beckon their minds back to
- 13:37Scripture that they were supposed to be the protectors
- 13:41of. They were supposed to be the
- 13:42teachers of the Scriptures. And Jesus is calling them out.
- 13:46And it's as if you say, have you even ever read the Bible?
- 13:52There are many today who are steeped in tradition and they do
- 13:58not even read the Bible that they have.
- 14:03They like their devotions and they like to cherry pick the
- 14:06verses and they like to have their own theology that was
- 14:10taught to them by man, or it's a moralistic theology where we
- 14:17degrade God into a human thought process and they do not have the
- 14:23full counsel of God's word from Genesis to Revelation in mind.
- 14:28And it is as if we should ask, have you even ever read the
- 14:33Bible, friend? We need to be students of the
- 14:36Word of God. We need to know every single
- 14:40book, every single syllable. We need to fall in love with the
- 14:44Word of God. Do not let it collect dust on
- 14:48the shelf, open the Word of God, study the Word of God, fall in
- 14:54love with the Word of God. The Word became flesh.
- 14:58The Word was at the beginning, and the Word was God.
- 15:04And he left them and went out of the city into Bethany, and he
- 15:08lodged there. Imagine that Jerusalem, full of
- 15:12millions of people coming for the Passover week.
- 15:18And here you can see Jesus, who is God.
- 15:23He doesn't even stay in the city.
- 15:25He leaves out of the city to lodge in Bethany.
- 15:31This would have been at the home of Mary and Martha and Lazarus.
- 15:36And just as whenever he was just a little baby, there was no room
- 15:39for him at the end. Look at how here his last week
- 15:44this city would have been bursting, Jerusalem would have
- 15:48been bursting with pilgrims that have come from all over to
- 15:52celebrate. And here Jesus leaves out of
- 15:56that place to go lodge in Bethany. 18 Now in the morning
- 16:02as he returned into the city, he hungered.
- 16:05He was all man friends. He was all God, and he allowed
- 16:10himself. He had to identify with our
- 16:13humanity. Friends, he felt the hunger
- 16:16pains. 19 And when he saw fig tree in the way, he came to it,
- 16:22and he found nothing on it but leaves only.
- 16:26And he said unto it, Let no fruit grow on you henceforth
- 16:30forever. And presently the fig tree
- 16:33withered away. Look at this destructive miracle
- 16:37that was wrought by our Lord. Look at how he was looking for
- 16:41fruit. But it only had the outward
- 16:44appearance of a plant that was producing fruit.
- 16:49And it's much like us in our day.
- 16:51It's much like the nation Israel at this time.
- 16:54And they sure looked the part. But there was no fruit and the
- 16:59Lord knew it. And this was a symbol unto them
- 17:05and unto us, of someone who outwardly looks as if they
- 17:09should be producing fruit, but they do not.
- 17:13They do not produce the fruit. And he here causes it to wither
- 17:20and die. There's a lot of application
- 17:25here, friends. 21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Truly I say
- 17:29unto you, If you have faith and do not doubt, you shall not only
- 17:34do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if you shall say
- 17:38to this mountain, be you removed, and be you cast into
- 17:42the sea, it shall be done. He's telling us to increase our
- 17:46faith. He's telling us to not doubt, to
- 17:51put our eyes on God, to not trust our senses and emotions,
- 17:56to lift the shield of faith up over our thought processes, to
- 18:02believe and not be divided in our thoughts, to not think that
- 18:09we have to make things happen, but to believe that God is able
- 18:13and willing and we can do mighty miracles in His name.
- 18:18We are indwelled by the Holy Spirit, friends, and the Holy
- 18:23Spirit is our helper. And Jesus said unless I go, he
- 18:27will not come and you will do greater things.
- 18:30And he's telling us to increase our faith.
- 18:32He's telling us not to doubt. 22 and all things whatsoever you
- 18:39shall ask in prayer, believing you shall receive.
- 18:44Jesus gives us a promise here that anything that we ask of and
- 18:49we do not doubt and we have faith, the Lord will do.
- 18:55And sometimes you pray and you pray and you pray and things
- 19:00don't move. But there's many things that are
- 19:03happening behind the scenes that we do not see yet.
- 19:09But they are, though all of those prayers that we pray are
- 19:13seeds that go down and are producing fruit, and we should
- 19:17increase our prayer life, friends, and not doubt when we
- 19:22pray. 23 And when he was come into the temple, the chief
- 19:26priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was
- 19:30teaching, and said, By what authority do you do these
- 19:35things? And who gave you this authority?
- 19:38They are perplexed and puzzled at the Lord and how He doesn't
- 19:43have any of His wisdom ascribed to any of the religious leaders.
- 19:51It was completely of His own, because He is the word of God.
- 19:56All of the law and all of the prophets were pointing to this
- 20:00moment. They were all.
- 20:06Forth telling, they were all pointing to Jesus Christ and if
- 20:11they were in tune with Him, they would have known that He was
- 20:16fulfilling so much of the Old Testament right here.
- 20:21There had been 400 years of silence before Jesus arrived on
- 20:25the scene, and look at how they had missed the mark.
- 20:29They were steeped in their traditions and they had thought
- 20:34that all of their rules and regulations were going to save
- 20:37them. And because of their lineage to
- 20:39Abraham, they were going to be saved.
- 20:42And here Jesus is showing them the air of their ways.
- 20:46Friends, they want to know how he got all this authority, and
- 20:53they missed that He was God. 25 The baptism of John 24th And
- 21:00Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one
- 21:04thing, which if you tell me, I and likewise will tell you by
- 21:09what authority I do these things.
- 21:11So he answers their question with the question.
- 21:14And Jesus is so good at this, he's going to beat them at their
- 21:17own game. Game.
- 21:19They were trying to back him into a corner here, friends, and
- 21:25Jesus knew he could see through their deception.
- 21:30He wanted to know, 25 The baptism of John, where did it
- 21:36come from? From heaven or of men?
- 21:40And they reason with themselves, saying, If we shall say from
- 21:43heaven, he will say unto us, Why did you not believe him?
- 21:4826 But if we shall say of men, we fear the people, for all hold
- 21:53John as a prophet. So here, because they were so
- 21:58steeped in tradition and legalism, they were so steeped
- 22:02in the law, and they had missed out on the grace that Jesus was
- 22:08offering to them, they had went and had a counsel and they were
- 22:14looking at it from the angles of either way they answered it, it
- 22:17was going to be the wrong answer.
- 22:20So what do they say? 27 And they answered Jesus and
- 22:25said, we cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither
- 22:30do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
- 22:33It was easy. This is very common sense stuff
- 22:36here, friends. And this is what happens when
- 22:41people become blinded, when people are delusional.
- 22:46And this is what happens whenever we Make Love decisions
- 22:51for this world would become hostile towards God.
- 22:55And we will not put up with sound doctrine, we will not put
- 23:00up with common sense themes. This is what happens whenever we
- 23:07are so hostile towards the goodness of God.
- 23:10This is a picture of that, friends.
- 23:13This is what it looks like to become delusional and to be
- 23:17blinded. 28 But what do you think?
- 23:25A certain man had two sons, and he came to the 1st and said,
- 23:28son, go work today in my vineyard 29 And he answered and
- 23:33said, I will not. But afterward he repented and
- 23:37went, 30 And he came to the second said, and said likewise.
- 23:42And he answered and said, I go, Sir, but he did not go. 31 Which
- 23:50of the two did the will of his Father?
- 23:52And they say unto him, The 1st And Jesus said unto them, Truly
- 23:58I tell you, that the publicans and the harlots go into the
- 24:04Kingdom of God before you. 32 For John came unto you in the
- 24:10way of righteousness, and you believed him not, but the
- 24:15publicans and the harlots believed him, and you, when you
- 24:19had seen it, did not repent afterwards, that you might
- 24:25believe him. So here we know that John the
- 24:29Baptist was the forerunner for Jesus Christ, and his ministry
- 24:36was repentance. And here we can see Jesus going
- 24:44to all of the religious leaders and the scribes who were trying
- 24:47to trap him. And he beats them at his own
- 24:50game. And he tells them this parable
- 24:54of a father with two sons. And the first son is likened to
- 24:59the tax collectors and the prostitutes who at first say,
- 25:04no, I don't want to go. And then later they say they
- 25:08repent and they go out to help the Father.
- 25:11This is a picture of those who were once lost and blind and
- 25:16deaf, but they come to their senses and they give their lives
- 25:20to the Lord, and they come into the Kingdom, they come into the
- 25:24fold. And then the second Son, you
- 25:28notice his words, he says, Sir, I go.
- 25:31So he had this outward appearance of righteousness.
- 25:36These are the ferocious wolves in sheep clothing.
- 25:40These are the ones who look the part, friends, but inwardly,
- 25:44their inner hearts, they're not actually going to go out and
- 25:48help the Father. And they are not obeying, even
- 25:53though they sure do look the part.
- 25:56They have their long tassels and their phylacteries.
- 26:00They make their long winded prayers.
- 26:03And here you can see the duplicity and the hypocrisy of
- 26:09the religious leaders and scribes.
- 26:11And Jesus shows them that they need to repent and they need to
- 26:16believe on him, and they need him to be saved. 33 Here another
- 26:24parable. There was a certain householder
- 26:28which planted a vineyard and hedged it round about, and dug a
- 26:33winepress in it, and built a tower, and LED it out to
- 26:38husbandmen, and went into a far country.
- 26:43So here we can understand that this householder is God.
- 26:50We can understand that this vineyard is the world, and we
- 26:54can see that the husband man is US, the people.
- 27:02It's a very simple parable. 34 And when the time of the fruit
- 27:07drew near, he sent his servants to the husband men, that they
- 27:11might receive the fruits of it. So we can see here that God had
- 27:16sent all of the prophets to call them back to God.
- 27:23What did they do? The husbandmen took his servants
- 27:29and he beat one and killed another and stoned another.
- 27:32That's what happened to all the prophets.
- 27:35They were beaten and stoned and martyred because they were the
- 27:38true voice of God for that time and the people did not want to
- 27:43hear it. You can see all throughout the
- 27:46Old Testament, you can see in the prophets, the major and the
- 27:50minor prophets. You can see how many times they
- 27:53refused to listen to God. They only wanted to amass to
- 27:57themselves the false prophets that were telling them what they
- 28:01wanted to hear. They were letting them get a get
- 28:04away with all of their sin. And they had thought that
- 28:07because of their lineage to Abraham that they were safe.
- 28:12Because they had the temple of the Lord, they were safe.
- 28:16And Jesus here is showing them that they killed them, that He
- 28:24had sent them to them to rescue them, to turn their hearts and
- 28:28minds back to God. And instead of softening their
- 28:32hearts and listening to them and repenting, they stoned and
- 28:37killed and martyred all of the prophets that came. 36 And again
- 28:44he sent other servants more than the first, and they did unto
- 28:49them likewise. So he kept sending them over and
- 28:52over and over to get their attention. 37 But last of all,
- 28:57he sent unto them his son, saying, they will reverence my
- 29:00son. He's talking about himself.
- 29:02Jesus is referencing himself. He is the son in this story.
- 29:07Friends. 38 But when the husband men saw the sun, they said among
- 29:13themselves, This is the air. Come, let us kill him.
- 29:17Let us seize on his inheritance. So here this he's talking about
- 29:23the Pharisees and the Sadducees and the Sanhedrin and all the
- 29:27religious people of that day, and how they saw Jesus and what
- 29:32did they do? They were going to kill him in a
- 29:36very short amount of time. They were all going to be crying
- 29:39out, crucify him. He is worthy of death.
- 29:46They had so enjoyed all of the liberties and luxuries that the
- 29:54Old Testament brought them and that they had acted in an
- 29:59autonomous manner amongst even the Roman Empire and they
- 30:04enjoyed it so much. And they thought that Jesus was
- 30:08committing blasphemy to not rebuke the people from calling
- 30:12him the son of David and giving him the messianic titles.
- 30:16And they were so completely lost and delusional in their own
- 30:23self-made thoughts and ideas, and they refused to see Jesus as
- 30:33He truly was. And that is such a word for us
- 30:36today. We do not need to get roped in
- 30:41and trapped in so many of these different religious arenas that
- 30:52we get slowly LED away. What we need to do more than
- 30:58anything is to open the Word of God, to learn the Word of God
- 31:02for ourselves, to own the Word of God, to study it, to be a
- 31:08student of the Scriptures. The best way to tell whenever
- 31:13there's a counterfeit that comes across the table is by studying
- 31:19the real thing. And that is what we need to do.
- 31:22We need to get into the good book.
- 31:24We need to read it and let it read us and to own it and to
- 31:30learn it and not just to go and trust what man teaches.
- 31:38I cannot say it enough. We must know the word of God for
- 31:41ourselves. And I'm so thankful for everyone
- 31:44who has taken this faith journey with me.
- 31:48We need to be in the Word of God.
- 31:50You need to be asking God to help you to discern these
- 31:53things, friends that come across that you're reading that you
- 31:57might not understand, but ask the Holy Spirit to make it plain
- 32:01to you. 39 And they caught him and cast him out of the vineyard
- 32:13and slew him right here. He's prophesying his own death,
- 32:17Friends 40 And when the Lord therefore of the vineyard comes,
- 32:23what will he do unto those husband men?
- 32:27So here these religious leaders had been listening to this
- 32:31parable. Jesus had silenced them whenever
- 32:35they were trying to trap him with the asking him what
- 32:39authority he did those things by, they were trying to trap him
- 32:43and he beat him at their own game.
- 32:45And he opened the door to be able to have a moment to speak.
- 32:51And all of the religious leaders sat there listening to him And
- 32:55there would have been a multitude of people that would
- 32:58have been standing around listening to these stories.
- 33:01And he says, What should the Lord do unto the husbandmen,
- 33:07that he had let out the vineyard to?
- 33:10Let's see what they have to say in 41.
- 33:12They said, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and he
- 33:16will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall
- 33:20render him the fruits in their season.
- 33:24So you can see here that by their words they are condemned.
- 33:30They condemned themselves here by a very simple parable that
- 33:35Jesus explains to them. Their reaction is much like when
- 33:41David said, who is that man? He deserves death.
- 33:45Whenever Nathan the prophet came to tell him about the little
- 33:49sheep, that was the pet of the man, and the king had visitors
- 33:55and he had many sheep of his own, but instead he went and
- 33:58took the one little lamb from the man who even slept with him,
- 34:05and he killed that lamb. And David was so indignant.
- 34:11And then what did he say? He said you are that man.
- 34:15And here you can see Jesus the son of David.
- 34:19You can see that he uses the same type of storytelling.
- 34:24It's the same spirit all the way through this word, friends.
- 34:29It never contradicts itself. It is so beautiful tapestry all
- 34:34the way through the word of God and you're going to swim in the
- 34:36deep end and never touch the bottom.
- 34:39You cannot approach the word of God from an intellectual
- 34:43approach. Yes, he can be reasoned with.
- 34:46Yes, there is many students and yes, you can learn.
- 34:51You could spend 20,000 lifetimes learning this word and
- 34:57approaching it from a scholastic approach and never ever become
- 35:03bored and never ever unearth all the gems and jewels and truths
- 35:09in this word. Even in our day and age of
- 35:12supercomputers, friends, you could not create an algorithm
- 35:16that could figure out this book because it's alive and active
- 35:19and sharper than any 2 edged sword.
- 35:22And we do not read it. It reads us, friends.
- 35:25And when we get into this good book, you're going to see so
- 35:30much tapestry. You're going to see so many
- 35:34nuances that just complement each other, and this is one of
- 35:39them. How?
- 35:39Jesus traps them, and he how? Jesus shows them their
- 35:45hypocrisy. Friends 42 And Jesus said unto
- 35:48them, Did you never read the scriptures?
- 35:53The stone which the builders rejected?
- 35:56The same has become the head of the corner.
- 35:58This is the Lord's doing and it is marvelous in our eyes.
- 36:05So here Jesus is asking them, Do you even read the Bible?
- 36:14If they were not so delusional, they would have understood that
- 36:18these things are marvellous. They would have understood that
- 36:26he was the Messiah and all of these things must happen. 43
- 36:31Therefore I say unto you, The Kingdom of God shall be taken
- 36:36from you and given to a nation, bringing forth the fruits of it.
- 36:4144 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken, but
- 36:46on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. 43 And
- 36:5144 he's referencing that the church is about to be birthed.
- 36:57And if you remember, he told Peter, he said I'm going to
- 37:01build my church, my ekklesia, the called out ones, and the
- 37:07gates of hell will not prevail. And here he's announcing it to
- 37:11the Jews. He's showing them that God's
- 37:14about to do a new thing because He wanted them to be the light
- 37:19unto the world, but they rejected him and they murdered
- 37:25their Messiah. And now look at how the Gentiles
- 37:29have come in. And it's this beautiful plan
- 37:32from the beginning. And He's showing that if we will
- 37:36fall on Jesus, if we will fall in love with Jesus, He will undo
- 37:43us. He will break us.
- 37:44He will completely make us a new creation.
- 37:48But if you refuse Him and He falls on you, it will grind you
- 37:55to powder. You will be annihilated. 45 The
- 37:59chief priests and the Pharisees had heard these parables.
- 38:02They perceived that he spoke of them.
- 38:05So light bulb moment they finally see, Oh gracious, we
- 38:10condemned ourselves. 46 But when they sought to lay hands on him,
- 38:16they feared the multitude, because they took him for a
- 38:19profit. So they could find no grounds
- 38:21here for arrest. Jesus never self condemned
- 38:26himself. Jesus never erred on the law.
- 38:29He kept all the law. You can see how perfect he is.
- 38:33He is the spotless, unblemished lamb.
- 38:37And even in their legal requirements he never broke the
- 38:40law. They could not arrest him.
- 38:43They feared the crowds. They had the fear of man because
- 38:46they knew that what they were doing was wrong, but they were
- 38:50so in love with greed and power and money and position and the
- 38:56manipulation of the masses that they did not care and they were
- 39:01blinded. That is a word for us, friends.
- 39:08We cannot call God into the courtroom when He doesn't act in
- 39:16a moral way. We do not need a fair God.
- 39:25We need a just God, friends. And God is just in all of his
- 39:32ways, and He justifies us when we come unto the Son.
- 39:40Let's fall in love more with Jesus today than we were
- 39:42yesterday. Let's become more like Jesus
- 39:45today. And by studying the scriptures,
- 39:47we can learn how he acted. And we can model our lives after
- 39:53the beatitudes. We can model our lives after
- 39:57this walk of Jesus, not fearing man, not being afraid to lay
- 40:02down our lives for our friends. We need to be more like Jesus
- 40:07today than we. Was yesterday this
- 40:09sanctification? I hope you've been blessed by
- 40:14this chapter here in Matthew. I know I sure have.
- 40:17It's blessed me many times over. Let's get in the Word today.
- 40:23Let's study the Word today. Let's own the Word today.
- 40:26Let's fall in love with Him more today.
- 40:30I'm praying for every single one of you.
- 40:33I love you. We'll see you back here
- 40:36tomorrow. God bless you, play trailer of
- 40:38the song.
