Part five of Mathematical Abstraction follows arithmetic from functions on whole numbers to a landscape of local and global structure. Möbius inversion, the totient function, Dirichlet convolution and generating series connect elementary counting to the zeta function and Euler products. Modular forms, Hecke operators and L-functions extend the picture. The episode closes with local-global reasoning and adeles, adding another floor to the series' connected mathematical architecture.
