Transcript
- 0:00Hey, this week on Friday, are you gonna be a big winner with the uh birthday wheel, the return of it for the 20th anniversary of the Scott and Alley show?
- 0:08Because it's up to five hundred thirty dollars.
- 0:12Insane.
- 0:13I thought of something here.
- 0:14We could redo the Heselsons jingle because they sponsored it, and we're like, it's fun to spin the birthday wheel with or yeah, not Scott and Alley.
- 0:23Thank you, Heselsons.
- 0:24Let's keep it going.
- 0:26Maybe, maybe we'll work on that.
- 0:28Okay, we'll we'll have to flesh that out a little bit.
- 0:30That one might be a little bit more.
- 0:31So the phrase fleshing something out always sounds so naughty.
- 0:35Yeah.
- 0:37How do you do that move?
- 0:38But for real, we are gonna spin only Fridays at 7:30, and you have to have the day, month, and year.
- 0:44And if it's you if we spin your day, your month, your year, then you call us back within 10 minutes and six seconds and grab that 530 bucks.
- 0:51Now you don't call us back if you say and and just try to repeat it and say, Well, I heard you say that.
- 0:57Good listening.
- 0:58Yeah.
- 0:59Except for the fact that's not how you win it.
- 1:01You've got to match all three.
- 1:02And if you don't, we'll we'll throw another$106 on the pile.
- 1:06Which means we would be at$636.
- 1:13So we'll find out on Friday.
- 1:15All right.
- 1:16Oh my gosh.
- 1:18Now let's keep the vibe of me doing all the wrong things going.
- 1:22Yes.
- 1:23We started the show with how I was saying I I kind of wanted to steal some rocks from my neighbor's property because he's dead.
- 1:30Yeah.
- 1:31And no one is no one even this is actually the sad part.
- 1:34No one even claimed his body from the morgue, okay?
- 1:37So I was like, what's a couple rocks that would go missing from the front of his house?
- 1:41You know?
- 1:42It's been vacated for quite a period of time.
- 1:44And you know you're getting older when you're like, that's a good rock.
- 1:49You know, there's something to that.
- 1:51Yeah, I like that rock.
- 1:52That's gonna look good in my landscaping.
- 1:54I mean, my boyfriend's birding and I'm rock hunting.
- 1:57So we're just here we are.
- 1:59Well, anyway, last night I get a message from all of them.
- 2:01You're right, the vibe has changed from 20 years ago.
- 2:04Usually I'd be scooping you off the floor of Oaks at about this hour.
- 2:08Now I wish that wasn't so true.
- 2:11Now you're gonna be able to do it.
- 2:12Like, you want to go out after eight?
- 2:14Who are you?
- 2:15No, no, thank you.
- 2:17But I get a message from my girlfriends who the one says, Are you guys going to our coming up high school reunion?
- 2:24And my response was, if there's going to be dodgeball, then yes.
- 2:29Oh man, oh God, a classic Scott Nally story.
- 2:33This is a classic Scott and Alley story.
- 2:35I was in like seventh or eighth grade.
- 2:36I'm in school with a girl that I can't, I hate her.
- 2:40I hate to this day, still hate.
- 2:43Her name is Nicole.
- 2:45So I as we're in gym class, I get the red ball, that red bouncy ball right in my hand.
- 2:51And she's standing right in front of me and she's like, Don't you even oh, and I just pelted that dodgeball right in her face, and it was like, doom! The classic sound.
- 3:01The greatest.
- 3:02I don't know how the greatest sound of my life.
- 3:05I don't know how I did not get my ass kicked that day because I thought that she was gonna come at me.
- 3:15So she the bully is now the one who does all of the planning for the reunion.
- 3:20Ain't that the way it goes?
- 3:21Yes, that's exactly the way that it's gotta be.
- 3:24Don't understand why.
- 3:24But anyway.
- 3:25Life karma right there.
- 3:27So that's the only reason I would ever go back to that high school remote.
- 3:30So you actually responded back with that?
- 3:32I responded to my girlfriend.
- 3:33I said I said, if there's gonna be dodgeball, then yes, I'll go.
- 3:37I have absolutely wow, you have you have shown your set of rocks twice to this girl.
- 3:43I have no interest in going to my high school reunion.
- 3:46I took none, not even a little iota.
- 3:49How ridiculously famous you are?
- 3:51I'm gonna tell yeah, I'm gonna tell you why.
- 3:54It's because every person that I want to talk to from school, I still talk to.
- 3:59I'm a weirdo in that way.
- 4:00It's very uncommon.
- 4:01The friends that are coming this weekend, I've known them.
- 4:04I I was telling Zach, I said, Oh, my friend who is my, he's the one of the OG friends, I've known him since 10th grade.
- 4:12His wife, they met at the very end of high school.
- 4:14I've known her since I was 18 years old.
- 4:16So no, I don't care about anyone else.
- 4:19Wow.
- 4:19Um, I I So I can talk about the weather as small talk and No, I think I still think you're missing.
- 4:27You've reached a point now.
- 4:28You've been out of high school a long run.
- 4:31Okay.
- 4:31And uh settled down for a minute and a half.
- 4:36Like five years.
- 4:37And uh yeah, and uh wow.
- 4:40As if I've only been here for five years.
- 4:42You but I feel like you're you're at the point now you're missing out on some nostalgia, which okay, at the 10-year reunion, you know, there's I I didn't go to that one at my 10-year reunion.
- 4:55I ended up going to the later ones, and then I ended up starting to have them every every other year, and we're like, God, how many times are we gonna do this?
- 5:01Right, guys.
- 5:02And you always love them because you do this interesting reconnect.
- 5:07Um, it's kind of like you ever watch a movie, and in your brain, you're kind of like, well, no, it happened exactly this way, but then you watch the movie again, you're like, oh no, it actually happened a different way.
- 5:17Me and my friends talk about this all the time.
- 5:19I will recollect a recollect.
- 5:22Recollect.
- 5:22I will recollect a story and I tell it my way, and then my best friend Timmy will go, No, no, no, you're missing.
- 5:30Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 5:31Some things have never changed.
- 5:33Oh my god, I know.
- 5:34So I feel like you're missing out.
- 5:35It's not as though, okay, so the people at my high school reunion, the last time we went, I think it was a few years ago.
- 5:41Uh yeah, because it was my high school, no, that was a reunion to the radio station in Buffalo that I started at uh 1988.
- 5:50Five years ago, five, seven years ago.
- 5:52Uh no.
- 5:53It was the day that Trump's ear got shot.
- 5:57Now get a load of this.
- 5:58I'm like Oh, that'll really rile it up in a reunion.
- 6:02I'm I'm literally in a drugstore because we're getting ready to go on a boat.
- 6:05So I'm riding with my buddy Scott and his wife, and I go, We should probably stop at a drugstore, maybe get something in case.
- 6:12Yeah, just in case the boats are rocking a little bit.
- 6:15So we walk in.
- 6:16And Scott's gut is a knocking.
- 6:18Right?
- 6:18We walk out, and Scott goes, Well, they didn't get the job done.
- 6:22And we're like, what are you talking about?
- 6:24Well, now you understand his political view.
- 6:26Of course, I do.
- 6:26I mean, that's I mean, you have to understand that's his view.
- 6:29I mean, you know, I I try to talk about it.
- 6:30Every time I hear that, that always just really cuts.
- 6:32Stay a little more neutral.
- 6:34That is his that was his opinion.
- 6:35And then obviously that became a talking point.
- 6:38But the reality is those people, outside of except the few people that I do talk to, most of the people I don't talk to regularly.
- 6:44But I it's it was great to catch up with them on the boat, share stories, you know, do and then it's a few hours and you're gone.
- 6:51You want to catch up because you just want to flex this show.
- 6:55Well, they all know what I do.
- 6:57Right, right.
