- 0:07What's up, everybody? This is another episode
- 0:10of fanatically speaking. I am log off the log
- 0:12off legend In this episode, we're going to do
- 0:14kind of a mixtape of sorts of a compilation of
- 0:18some of the worst takes that both myself and
- 0:20Kent have made. It's a variation of a lot of
- 0:23different things that we've just kind of said,
- 0:25you know, as we were recording our podcast over
- 0:28the last few months. Some of them are more ridiculous
- 0:30than others, but what we're going to do is we're
- 0:33just going to kind of fly through some of the
- 0:36funner ones that I was able to kind of pick apart.
- 0:38And the first thing we're going to go with is
- 0:41Kent and his love of Daniel Jones early in the
- 0:44season. And we can go ahead and get right into
- 0:47that. I'm going to spin the wheel, and I'm going
- 0:50to have it land on a team. And then I'm just
- 0:52going to dissect this particular team lands on
- 0:56the Colts. OK? So you're saying, oh, OK, yeah,
- 0:59the Colts, they only got one loss. They got one
- 1:02team. Hold on. OK, to a good team that only scored
- 1:0627. They lost 27 to 20. Yeah. Daniel Jones turned
- 1:10back into a pumpkin in that game. All right.
- 1:1424 for 33, not bad. 202 yards. Cool. Some of
- 1:17that was probably in garbage time, just racking
- 1:19up stats, but he had one touchdown, two picks.
- 1:22Yeah. He's absolutely capable of doing that again.
- 1:25For sure. So that's what I mean. Like, I just
- 1:27don't, like, I just don't trust him. The team
- 1:28is great around him, but that's who everybody's
- 1:31looking at. Mr. Indiana Jones. I may regret saying
- 1:34I believe in them, but there's just something
- 1:35about the team. I don't know. Okay, look, like
- 1:38I said, I mean, it's not, it's not a bad pick.
- 1:39Like they're, they're, they're not like, they're,
- 1:42they're formidable. They are, they are a formidable
- 1:44team, but, but they're just one. Go ahead. No,
- 1:48no, go ahead. You go ahead. I was just saying,
- 1:50they're just one of the teams that I got in the
- 1:53six that I picked to say, I believe in these
- 1:55six. Okay. All right, no, and that's fair. I
- 1:58mean, and maybe that's you kind of taking, I
- 2:02don't know, maybe taking, you know, a shot in
- 2:05the dark, right? You know, just taking the swing.
- 2:08The next one we're going to roll into is when
- 2:10Kent was making his picks, for who he thought
- 2:12could make a deep playoff run, he decided to
- 2:15go with some teams that are kind of questionable
- 2:17now in hindsight. At the time, he felt pretty
- 2:20confident about it. But yeah, let's listen to
- 2:23it. Let's see what he was talking about back
- 2:24then. Just off, just off the top of your head,
- 2:29you, you kind of went through, you know, both
- 2:31conferences. How many teams do you trust? How
- 2:37many, how many, how many years? No, and here's
- 2:40the thing, but, but I want to, but I'm holding
- 2:43your feet to the fire on this. I want a definite
- 2:45yes or no. The teams that I'm no caveats. So
- 2:50the teams that you name, I trust them to advance
- 2:54in the playoffs. Go. You mean named teams? I
- 2:58need teams Yeah, give me the names of teams that
- 3:00you trust moving forward for the rest of the
- 3:03season into the playoffs, okay? Okay, so I just
- 3:07want to put this out there in previous episode
- 3:10when we talked about the NFL I think I had less
- 3:14teams I believe in the NFC that I believed in
- 3:19I think I believe in more now and then the AFC
- 3:23I probably believe in less teams It's like a
- 3:26flip -flop. So, let's go. Okay. A team I believe
- 3:30in. Again, I think this hasn't changed. The Kansas
- 3:34City Chief. Okay. Who else? The other team I
- 3:37believe in are the Buffalo Bills. Who else? I
- 3:42just mentioned them. I am now a believer in the
- 3:46Indianapolis Colts. Okay. Call me crazy. Call
- 3:49me crazy. I'm not calling you anything. Those
- 3:51are the only... So, that's in the AFC. I really,
- 3:55I'm not finished though. Okay. Okay. That I believe
- 4:02can actually, are we saying like believe we can
- 4:04make it go to the Super Bowl? You are wording
- 4:06this up. My question was specific and direct.
- 4:09My question was, give me the teams that you trust.
- 4:14Okay. Hold on. Give me the teams that you trust.
- 4:17Going forward, the remaining of the season and
- 4:20into the playoffs. Okay, I'm going to say, I'm
- 4:25going to take that as these are teams that can
- 4:26go to the Super Bowl. So those are my three in
- 4:28the AFC. Okay. Colts, Chiefs, Buffalo Bills.
- 4:31Okay. Who do you have in the NFC? The good old
- 4:34Philadelphia Eagles. Okay. As mad as I get, as
- 4:38frustrated as I get, I do not give up and I don't
- 4:40stop believing. Say the Buccaneers, losing Mike
- 4:44Evans is going to affect them unless they make
- 4:46a deal. Tragic injury. I feel so bad for that
- 4:49dude. Yeah. Yeah. I believe in the Eagles. I
- 4:53believe in the Detroit Lions. I believe in the
- 4:56Los Angeles Rams. Okay. Is that where it stops
- 5:00for you? And I thought I had more, and I know
- 5:03the Packers are up there, but I just don't believe
- 5:08in them. Okay, cool. No. All right, so I'm going
- 5:10to do a quick recap. So you got the Rams. So
- 5:14that's three in each. So you got the Rams, the
- 5:16Eagles. The lions and the lions in the NFC and
- 5:20the AFC. You got the chiefs. You got the bills,
- 5:23the Indianapolis Colts and the Colts. Okay. So
- 5:26that's six teams. All right. All right. I'll
- 5:29go. I don't trust none of these muckas. Not any
- 5:35of these teams. All of these teams have had games
- 5:39where they have just showed us their ass where
- 5:42they made dumb mistakes. They've had bonehead
- 5:45turnovers, coaching gaffes, you know, calling
- 5:49time out, not calling time out. No special teams
- 5:52issue. Like just want all of the teams across
- 5:55the league. I don't trust anybody as far as I
- 5:58can throw them. This next clip is actually of
- 6:03Yours truly log off legend and I actually made
- 6:06a questionable pick here where I picked one quarterback
- 6:08or another To kind of advance deep through the
- 6:11season continue to play. Well, and boy was I
- 6:14wrong Well, yeah, let's flip -flop. Yeah, let's
- 6:19go with the AFC So we'll go to the Colts and
- 6:22the Colts are one of the top teams in the AFC
- 6:24They have two losses on the record right now
- 6:27currently One to the Rams and then another two
- 6:30Pittsburgh both close games competitive games
- 6:33and You know looking at their team you were talking
- 6:37about health, you know when it came to the Rams
- 6:40This is something that that I think a lot of
- 6:43people are tend to forget so obviously we know
- 6:47Daniel Jones came in and You know kind of Shattered
- 6:52what his reputation was when he was a New York
- 6:55giant but everyone seems to forget like Jonathan
- 6:59Taylor how great he's been as a as a running
- 7:02back and It wasn't too long ago where that dude
- 7:05was having to argue with you know, the the now,
- 7:09you know passed on Jim ursay to even get paid
- 7:13Do you remember that contract dispute where he
- 7:16was trying to just get a contract and they didn't
- 7:18want to bet and now he is I say the linchpin
- 7:22for that entire team's offense. You know, Daniel
- 7:25Jones is able to kind of come in and play his
- 7:26role, but I think they have a consistent stranglehold
- 7:30on what it is that you know you're going to get
- 7:32from them. But what are your thoughts on the,
- 7:35on the Colts? So I've changed a little bit. I
- 7:38know I was, I believed in them early in the season
- 7:41when they were playing well. So I have an interesting
- 7:45take on the Colts and a lot of it goes back to
- 7:48the Daniel Jones. and it goes back to them picking
- 7:52up Sauce Gardener at the trade deadline. So Daniel
- 7:58Jones, as you pointed out, turned back into a
- 8:01pumpkin a few weeks ago, right? Against the Steelers,
- 8:05we talked about that. So this trade with Sauce
- 8:08Gardener, everybody made a big deal, right? Like
- 8:12Sauce Gardener, one of the top corners in the
- 8:13league, this, that, and the other, what he's
- 8:15gonna do with the Colts. But I view it the same
- 8:19as I did in with the Jets the Jets suck every
- 8:24year they had sauce gardener and Why was that
- 8:27at the end of the day? They had other issues,
- 8:29but at the end of the day their biggest issue
- 8:31was what quarterback? So when you look at the
- 8:35Colts Their weakness at the end of the day when
- 8:38you go into the playoffs when you go into big
- 8:41games Their weakness is going to be their quarterback
- 8:44Jonathan Taylor great their running game is the
- 8:48that's their that's their game right but if games
- 8:51got to come down to quarterback play it's who
- 8:55are the colts matched up against well yeah and
- 8:59and and in a stacked afc where where you know
- 9:03depending on how the playoff seedings should
- 9:06face out you're going to have to face in josh
- 9:09allen you're going to have to face a lamar jackson
- 9:11you're going to have to face a patrick mahomes
- 9:12you're going to have to face a big name a seasoned
- 9:17quarterback going into the playoffs. So matchup
- 9:21wise, it's going to be, it's going to be, you
- 9:23know, tougher for them. I mean, I'd say the only,
- 9:25the only, I guess the only team that I would
- 9:28say, and it's actually going to be the team we're
- 9:29going to do here in a little bit would be the
- 9:31Broncos. You know, I guess I would trust Daniel
- 9:34Jones, you know, over not only like the entire
- 9:39Broncos, you know, offense, but you know, certainly
- 9:42over Bo Nicks, but But in my mind, I understand
- 9:46what you're saying. A lot of this is because
- 9:48we haven't seen Daniel Jones really do it and
- 9:51perform well in the playoffs. It's a, Hey, you
- 9:53got to show me something. You got to prove it
- 9:54to me before I believe in you type thing. But
- 9:57I would say quarterback wise going in, they're
- 9:59going to be, you know, they're going to be, they're
- 10:03going to have to take, uh, they're going to need
- 10:05extra ammunition. Yeah. And I'll give Daniel
- 10:07Jones credit against some of these quarterbacks
- 10:09and these teams we're going to talk about. Cause
- 10:11like the Rams. We know they got the advantage
- 10:14coaching. They got the advantage at quarterback.
- 10:17And then you mix in all the other weapons they
- 10:19have now with the Colts. Still Shane Stikens,
- 10:23a newer head coach, right? Not as not much experience,
- 10:27but all it takes is one good season. Daniel Jones
- 10:30is a veteran. He has played in the playoffs.
- 10:33He has won a playoff game, so I'll give him that.
- 10:36That's what he's got over a Bo Nicks over a later
- 10:39Drake May. But I would not trust Daniel Jones
- 10:43against that Broncos defense who have the most
- 10:45sacks in the NFL So if that matchup happens Look
- 10:49what look you got Bo Nicks, but he plays well.
- 10:51He's been playing really well. We'll talk about
- 10:53him, but they got Sean Payton Super Bowl winning
- 10:57coach a lot of experience obviously and then
- 11:00a really good defense who they get after the
- 11:03quarterback so Yeah, no and I can see that too
- 11:08yeah, and Daniel Jones does struggle against,
- 11:11you know, pressure. So, I mean, we would have
- 11:13to see. But, I mean, Bo Nix is still going to
- 11:16have to go out there and perform. The playoff
- 11:18environment is totally different. He's never
- 11:19experienced it. So, again, I'd still have to
- 11:23give the edge to Daniel Jones in terms of quarterback
- 11:25performance. I would have to bet my money on
- 11:28him. Just, you know, I've never seen Bo Nix do
- 11:30it. Maybe he shocks the world. But for right
- 11:34now, I'd have to go with Daniel Jones. This next
- 11:37one actually hurts the most, because not only
- 11:40did I keep my feet planted in this particular
- 11:44pick, but if you listen to the clip, Kent tries
- 11:47his hardest to try to talk me out of it, and
- 11:50he made some very, very solid arguments, and
- 11:52I just would not back down. I don't have a problem
- 11:55being wrong about anything, but this was a huge
- 11:58swing and a miss. What are your thoughts on the
- 12:03Denver Broncos as they, you know, sit atop, you
- 12:06know, up in the top of the AFC? So they've surprised
- 12:09me a little bit because last year they really
- 12:12didn't play anybody. They snuck in the playoffs
- 12:13and then they got waxed. Bo Nix has kind of been
- 12:17up and down this year. There was a few weeks
- 12:19it was like, oh, Bo Nix is holding the Broncos
- 12:21back and then he comes up big in clutch moments,
- 12:25right? And again, that defense is really, really
- 12:29good. and again, they're well coached, Sean Payton,
- 12:33he's been around, right? Not maybe the greatest
- 12:35guy off the field, but I don't really care for
- 12:39him again, kind of the stuff with Russell Wilson
- 12:41and all that, but dude wins and he's got this
- 12:45team rolling and they'll probably win the AFC
- 12:48West and defense will take you far, right? But
- 12:54that one playoff game for Bo Nix, I mean, It
- 12:58does give him a little experience. I like him,
- 13:03I like the way he plays. So, you know, I don't,
- 13:07like you said, you take Daniel Jones over Bo
- 13:09Nix. I would take Bo Nix over Daniel Jones, but
- 13:11that's just me. But again, he is still young.
- 13:15And again, it just depends on that matchup. But
- 13:18they keep winning games that I think they're
- 13:20going to lose. And as much as I'm not a fan,
- 13:23like I said, of Sean Payton, I definitely think.
- 13:28This could I mean they I could see them in the
- 13:31Super Bowl. I Cannot like I don't I don't see
- 13:36that at all. Like I think this may be Probably
- 13:40one of like the bigger. I'm way on the opposite
- 13:44end of the spectrum than you are because I I
- 13:48Think Bo Nix is going to be one of those quarterbacks
- 13:52That surprised a lot of defenses early in the
- 13:56year People start to figure him out and then
- 14:00that's when the mistakes start happening I don't
- 14:03know how he's gonna react to it when things like
- 14:05the the true measure of a good quarterback is
- 14:08when everything isn't going great How is that
- 14:10quarterback playing? How are they reacting? he
- 14:13hasn't been fantastic on the back half of this
- 14:15season and The matchups for them have been favorable
- 14:20to where they've been able to go and win games
- 14:22You know, they beat the Giants they beat the
- 14:24Cowboys they beat the Texans they beat the Raiders
- 14:27now They did go get the win in Kansas City, but
- 14:30Kansas City's been struggling all year. They're
- 14:32not really themselves either It doesn't really
- 14:35do a lot for me. So it's great on paper. They're
- 14:37getting the wins, which again is important in
- 14:40the NFL. That's fine, but When it comes down
- 14:44to it You can say that you would rather take
- 14:47Bonex over Daniel Jones. I think you could say
- 14:50that with confidence now. And then when they're
- 14:53head -to -head for a playoff game, I think you'll
- 14:57be a little nervous about that kind of pick.
- 14:58Like if you had anything, you know, any major
- 15:00amount of money on it. In Denver? I think you'd
- 15:02be a little more nervous once you get those two
- 15:04kind of side -by -side and get a chance to look
- 15:06at the matchup. So great defense, I get it. And
- 15:10if that's what you're banking on, to have Bo
- 15:13Nix get a win over the Colts, I think that's
- 15:16where it may be a little short -sighted. Because
- 15:18I would expect my quarterback to be able to go
- 15:21out there and get me a win. But in this case,
- 15:23you're saying you're expecting the defense to
- 15:25be able to hold it close enough to where he can
- 15:27squeak out a win. And I just don't see it. I
- 15:30could be horribly wrong, but I'm one of those
- 15:33guys, man. I got to see it first before I've
- 15:36got any type of confidence in you. And from what
- 15:38I've seen from Bo Nix the last couple of weeks,
- 15:41Yeah, I mean, I'm not going to say he turned
- 15:42into a pumpkin. He's good. He's decent. He's
- 15:45formidable. But I just don't see him advancing.
- 15:48I don't see them advancing deep into a playoff
- 15:51run. I think they'll squeak in and have one game,
- 15:53maybe two this year, and then they'll be out.
- 15:56I only say that they could get to the Super Bowl.
- 16:00I could see it. One, it's going to depend on
- 16:03home field advantage. And I know we keep matching
- 16:07up Daniel Jones and Bo Nix. We don't know who
- 16:08they're going to play, right? but it will depend
- 16:11on who's at home, if that would happen. But you
- 16:14see these, the teams at the top are what? The
- 16:16Broncos, the Patriots, and the Colts. I don't
- 16:19think, again, they weren't on our bingo card.
- 16:22It was the Chiefs, the Bills, the Ravens. Correct.
- 16:25So we're looking at three new teams that are
- 16:29considered. Outliers, yeah. Yeah, so that's where
- 16:31I say, like, in a season where the other three
- 16:35teams that we thought would be there, Two or
- 16:39all of who hell who knows at this point. They
- 16:41might not any of them make the playoffs So that's
- 16:45why I say I could see the Broncos making it.
- 16:47It's gonna depend on who's who's got the home
- 16:49-field advantage And with teams that are we expected
- 16:54to be good and up there at the top or not Now
- 16:58we still got a month or so left in the season,
- 17:00but if it stays the way it stays Those three
- 17:03teams are gonna have the home -field advantage
- 17:05And again, we don't know who else is going to
- 17:09be in. We don't know if, like I said, the Chiefs,
- 17:10the Ravens, Bills will even make the playoffs.
- 17:13Because they're all out. I understand that. They're
- 17:15all out. No, I understand that. Yeah. But what
- 17:18I'm saying is what I have in front of me, when
- 17:22I have the Broncos in front of me, and I'm telling
- 17:25you, hey, if you give me the Colts and the Broncos,
- 17:27I don't care about the situation. I don't care
- 17:29if it's on the road. I don't care who they're
- 17:31playing. If I had to pick between one of those
- 17:33two, I'm I mean, I'm going to take the Colts.
- 17:36Okay. And that's what I mean. If, if, if it's
- 17:38like, Hey, we need everything to break right
- 17:40for the Broncos to where they host a playoff
- 17:42game, they get a favorable matchup and the defense
- 17:45plays great in order for Bo Nicks to get a win.
- 17:48That's why I don't have any confidence in them.
- 17:50I think if you match them up, if you look at
- 17:52them, you may change your mind. If you, if you
- 17:57just look and say coach, quarterback, running
- 18:00back, defense, receiver, this, that, and the
- 18:02other match them up. You don't have to do that
- 18:06right now. Just saying. No, I'm with you. I'm
- 18:08with you. I'll still, for me, like again, I'll
- 18:11have to beg to differ. Just remember. And like
- 18:13I said, I just think it's one of the rare things
- 18:15where I'm way away from you on it. And one of
- 18:19us will be right. Yeah. Or maybe Daniel Jones
- 18:23and Bo Nicks both flame out. Who the hell knows?
- 18:25This could be a season like when the Bears went
- 18:28to the Super Bowl with Rex Grossman. It could
- 18:32be. But, you know, I gotta say, but Rex Grossman
- 18:35was, you know, ugh. I'm not gonna bash Rex Grossman.
- 18:41And last but not least, we're gonna close this
- 18:43out with Kent. And this was when Kent was furious
- 18:48after the Eagles lost their second matchup against
- 18:51the Cowboys. He was pretty steaming. He was actually
- 18:55texting me during the game. We were texting the
- 18:57day after and he just wanted to get on the microphone
- 19:00and just let the Eagles have it. He declared
- 19:02their season was over saying that they're trash.
- 19:05And as you know, right now they sit atop their
- 19:07division and they're going to host the playoff
- 19:09game. But, but this was fun. It's interesting.
- 19:12And you know, I tried to talk some sense into
- 19:14him. I think he kind of came around at the end,
- 19:16but at the moment he was dead wrong. So yeah,
- 19:19so let's, let's hear Kent melt down a little
- 19:21bit. So the game for the Eagles versus Cowboys
- 19:28just ended, and Kent's pretty upset. He's very
- 19:33upset at the game, specifically the second half,
- 19:36for reasons that anybody who knows what happened
- 19:37in that game understands why. And because he's
- 19:41upset, what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna give him
- 19:42five uninterrupted, unadulterated minutes to
- 19:47totally go in on the Eagles. I have my own opinions
- 19:50and thoughts on it, some of which I've shared
- 19:52with him, some of which I haven't. But I'm going
- 19:54to go ahead and just step aside, let Kit just
- 19:56get it all out of his system. And Kent, the floor
- 19:59is yours. All right. Thank you so much. I'm not
- 20:02as upset. I've calmed down, but I still got I
- 20:05still got takes. So obviously upset any time
- 20:09you lose to the Dallas Cowboys, as I explained
- 20:12in a previous episode, that that is the rivalry
- 20:15of all rivalries for me. So when the game is
- 20:19when it's those two that I really care more than
- 20:22any time, right? And I might have yelled yesterday.
- 20:25I might have said words. I might have scared
- 20:29the dogs, the neighbors, little children walking
- 20:33the sidewalk. So just to begin, we all know that
- 20:38the game happened. Eagles were up 21 -0. And
- 20:41then slowly, the Cowboys got back in it. And
- 20:44then, of course, eventually won. So. You mentioned
- 20:49earlier in the text yet that you know every half
- 20:52the league loss it happens things like that And
- 20:55I know you got other takes. I'm just sharing
- 20:57that All losses are not equal. This is what I
- 21:00this is what I was saying because they are the
- 21:03defending Super Bowl champions They have again
- 21:08this loaded offensive roster Right, they didn't
- 21:13lose. They lost a lot. Well, they lost one offensive
- 21:16lineman in free agency. So they got the same
- 21:20offense. They are the defending champs. They
- 21:24got a new offensive coordinator. He has not been
- 21:29good. So that's why I'm gonna start with Kevin.
- 21:32I'm gonna just start right there. I'm all over
- 21:36the place because of my mind. I got so many thoughts,
- 21:37so many words, so many takes, so many people.
- 21:41First off, I wanna say AJ Brown, that stuff has
- 21:44nothing to do with yesterday. People can say
- 21:47old locker room this locker room that no What
- 21:51yesterday came down to was? play calling execution
- 21:55in the same thing that's been going on all season
- 21:58Now they've been winning games. Thanks a lot
- 22:01of a lot to their defense some games or it was
- 22:05offensive explosions at the right time or block
- 22:09field goals And you'll take the wins and I still
- 22:12think they're a contender. Obviously. They're
- 22:14just too good not to be But losses like yesterday
- 22:18come back and they worry me So I'm gonna get
- 22:23into Kevin. I'm gonna get in all this Say they
- 22:26are the defending champs, but they have an offense
- 22:29that looks like a middle school. That's not okay
- 22:33They're the defending champs now they have blown
- 22:36two games this season one to the Broncos they
- 22:40were up 17 to 3 and then they gave up 18 points
- 22:44in the fourth quarter to lose that ball game
- 22:47as the as the offense disappeared in that game.
- 22:52Then yesterday 21 to nothing. And then they just
- 22:56offense again disappeared. You can call it playing
- 23:02safe, letting the foot off the gas, whatever
- 23:05you want to call it, but that's what they did.
- 23:07And as the defending champs, they cannot blow
- 23:09two games like that in a season. By double digits
- 23:14with a 14 and a 21 point lead. That's not okay
- 23:17They are the defending champs and On third and
- 23:21two with a two -minute warning a free timeout
- 23:24for them to come up with some play to come up
- 23:26with two yards To keep the game winning drive
- 23:29going They couldn't even get open they couldn't
- 23:33even drop a play to get two yards and hurts get
- 23:36sacked Defending champs, that's not okay There's
- 23:42gotta be a creativity to this offense, right?
- 23:46The defense is tired because the offense, even
- 23:48after they scored, again, like yesterday, the
- 23:51defense is tired because they stand on a field.
- 23:55And how many games is this now, four or five?
- 23:58That in one half, they look amazing, and then
- 24:00the next half, they don't. Or the first half,
- 24:02they do nothing, and then the second half, they
- 24:05do. They're not putting together complete games.
- 24:09And these are now two of those times that they've
- 24:12lost those games. This was a division rival playing,
- 24:16I mean, every game matters. Now they dropped
- 24:19to the two seed overall. Now the Rams, who we
- 24:22said are gonna be probably Super Bowl contenders.
- 24:25I would say they're the favorite right now. They're
- 24:28now the one seed. Now Eagles. I'd agree with
- 24:31that. Eagles hold the tiebreaker because they
- 24:32beat them off a block field goals, but they did
- 24:35beat them. But yeah, this is not okay. I used
- 24:39a gift today. You know, I wanted to describe
- 24:42the offense and I put vanilla ice Because they
- 24:47are vanilla the running game is vanilla By the
- 24:51time Saquon Barkley gets the ball. There is a
- 24:53defender in the backfield It is the slowest developing
- 24:57run plays that I've ever seen in my life. That's
- 25:00what I say It's like middle school. It's vanilla
- 25:02They're not even creative with it. Now. You can
- 25:05say they got a block better do this Mean in the
- 25:10NFL There's been great running backs and running
- 25:14games where you know who's getting the ball The
- 25:17defense knows they they ready for it and you
- 25:20still can run and gain more than two yards interesting
- 25:23stat today Dan Orlovsky said the crazy stat about
- 25:28the Eagles this year is Saquon Barkley who last
- 25:31year 2 ,000 yards amazing season all that He
- 25:35he tied this season with the most negative run
- 25:39plays with Ashton Gentey of the Vegas Raiders.
- 25:46Let that sink in. The Raiders who suck and their
- 25:52rookie running back is tied with Saquon Barkley
- 25:55and the Philadelphia Eagles for the most negative
- 25:58rushing plays in the league. Saquon ended with
- 26:0722 yards, correct? Both Dallas' running backs,
- 26:13their longest run, one had 20, one had 21. So
- 26:19both of their running backs, one dude I ain't
- 26:21never heard of, had a 21 -yard run. In one run,
- 26:25he rushed for more than Saquon Barkley did in
- 26:28the entire football game. That's a problem, and
- 26:31I'm not blaming Saquon, right? We can keep saying
- 26:34they gotta execute, they gotta execute. I think,
- 26:35I really, again, I also responded today too,
- 26:39right? In the text chain, Chip Kelly fired. Why
- 26:43can't the Eagles fire their offensive coordinator?
- 26:48Okay, all right. That, hold on, hold on. I'll
- 26:51let you go a minute over. Okay. This is where,
- 26:55this is where it's like. Cause I'm done. Now
- 26:57you were gonna get to the point where you start
- 27:01a fire so again, I'm gonna real quick We know
- 27:05we know sick what we know say Kwanzaa stuff Yeah,
- 27:08if you want to compare him to Gentie The stats
- 27:11are the stats. He's not producing like he did
- 27:13last year, but you're also comparing this year
- 27:17to his best statistical year ever a little unfair
- 27:21Although it's one season It's not even close
- 27:25though. I don't even know, what's he got? 500,
- 27:28almost 600 yards through 12 weeks? But it's not
- 27:34even the yards. So what were you expecting him
- 27:36to do? I mean, you can't just, like, he might
- 27:40not even reach a thousand. It is embarrassing,
- 27:46but I'm saying it's not even the run game. Like
- 27:47I said, that's embarrassing. They can't even,
- 27:50I mean, you watch the games, right? I mean, they
- 27:52gain like two yards or they lose two yards. It's
- 27:57one or the other. I think his longest run this
- 27:59year is what, 18 yards maybe, maybe 20 some yards
- 28:02that he busted, 100 yard game. And it's not just
- 28:06about Saquon. Again, this is really about the
- 28:08offense. They're not throwing the ball. And even
- 28:12on that third and two, I could have come up with
- 28:15a better play call because the Cowboys at that
- 28:17point, they knew the Eagles have stopped running
- 28:18the ball. Creativity to the call and I'm done
- 28:42All right kid You unreasonable as hell. And all
- 28:46I'm going to do, all I'm going to do is give
- 28:48you some facts. You, if you want to fire the
- 28:52OC, fine. I'm not, I'm not going to argue about
- 28:55that. Your football team is the defending Superbowl
- 29:01champions. Like you said several times, they're
- 29:03eight and three. They're number one in the NFC
- 29:06East. We could talk about their losses. Let's
- 29:10talk about their wins. They beat the Cowboys.
- 29:13They beat the Chiefs. They beat the Rams. They
- 29:15beat the Bucks. They beat the Vikings. They beat
- 29:18the Packers. They beat the Lions. Okay. They've
- 29:21won games against good teams. We know that they're
- 29:23capable of it. Okay. That's the first point.
- 29:27The second thing is, is you made it clear that
- 29:29the reason why you so fired up about this loss
- 29:31is because it's the Cowboys and because you think
- 29:34that it's the biggest, one of the biggest rivalries
- 29:36in sports specifically for you. And Eagles Cowboys
- 29:39is huge. But I got a question for you. Do you
- 29:43know in the sense 20 since the year 2000? Do
- 29:47you know how many times the Philadelphia Eagles
- 29:49have beaten the Dallas Cowboys twice in a season?
- 29:53You have any idea probably not many They've done
- 29:58it four times 2000 2001 2011 and then last year,
- 30:05okay Now the only reason why I picked that that
- 30:08sounds like an obligatory kind of stat to pull
- 30:11up The reason why I pulled that up is because
- 30:14the Philadelphia Eagles have beaten the Dallas
- 30:16Cowboys Both times in a season four times Which
- 30:23is the same as the many Super Bowls they've been
- 30:25to in that same time period Okay, so that's how
- 30:30rare it is that they even beat the Cowboys twice
- 30:33in a year. This isn't something that happens
- 30:35You know quite often they often split which takes
- 30:39me to my original point when I started everything
- 30:42off This is what happens These are the types
- 30:47of things that happen Division teams know you
- 30:52better than anybody big games lots of pressure
- 30:55all the eyeballs in the world Eagles Cowboys
- 30:58is must -see TV things are gonna happen. It's
- 31:01gonna be wonky I mean we saw what happened when
- 31:03we played them earlier in the year competitive
- 31:06game, Cowboys got it close, we ended up beating
- 31:09them by four. These are the types of things that
- 31:12are gonna happen. It's always close games. And
- 31:14when you leave it up to chance, and we could
- 31:15talk about play calling, we could talk about
- 31:17bad calls by the refs, we could talk about the
- 31:19fumbles. I mean, we've never seen Saquon fumble
- 31:22like that in the open field. Those are things
- 31:24that just don't happen. They happen in NFC East
- 31:27matchups, even when one team isn't necessarily
- 31:30great. So, that's why I'm not going to take any
- 31:34of this to heart. It is what it is. The rest
- 31:36of the Eagles schedule is more than manageable.
- 31:41Okay? They got to play the Bears, like you said,
- 31:44day after Thanksgiving, Chargers, Raiders, Commanders,
- 31:48another Division game, the Bills, and then the
- 31:51Commanders again to close out the year. These
- 31:53are the types of things that are going to happen
- 31:54in Division games. Luckily, we've gotten all
- 31:57of our matchups with the Giants out of the way.
- 32:00And... We won't have any more division games
- 32:03on our schedule. So, you know, if, if they finish
- 32:07above 500 for the rest of the year, they'll go
- 32:10ahead and still get the one seed in the NFC East
- 32:12and host a playoff game. So those are the types
- 32:15of things that you've got to take into consideration.
- 32:17These are the losses that are going to happen,
- 32:19man. And it's only their third loss of the year.
- 32:24Okay. We are, we're in the last week of November.
- 32:27And your team only lost, they lost their third
- 32:30game in a matter of hours. Let's talk about those
- 32:34three losses really quick though. Again, two
- 32:37of them, they blew huge leads. They underperformed
- 32:42in their losses. I'm not arguing that. They blew
- 32:45two huge leads and then they got blown out by
- 32:49the New York Giants. Again, a division game.
- 32:53It happens. See, it's okay. Now that's the unreasonable
- 32:59that I can't stand because here's the thing.
- 33:01No, no, cause here's the thing. And this is where
- 33:04- Is the commanders. We're going to split with
- 33:06the commanders. We are Wow, I'll take a bet on
- 33:10that right now. You're saying no matter who their
- 33:12quarterback is because these are the division
- 33:14games man Listen, I just showed I just told you
- 33:17to stand on the Cowboys which we which we can
- 33:19agree They haven't been fantastic the last 24
- 33:22years here and we split with them to 20 20 21
- 33:26out of the 25 years we split with that's fine
- 33:28But this is just how it goes that tied a record
- 33:31for the Cowboys to come back from 21 points I
- 33:36hear you. It's bad. I'm not saying that it was
- 33:39a great thing to happen. I'm not saying that
- 33:41I'm happy about it. And if you are being honest,
- 33:43again, even though they got wins, and I know
- 33:45you say a win is a win, and we do say that, but
- 33:48they just haven't looked good all season. They
- 33:55can't run the ball. They have to, I mean, like,
- 33:59come playoff time, man. You gotta be able to
- 34:02do something. And they just... We did our NFL
- 34:06episode. We did our NFL episode. And then we
- 34:10followed it up and did another NFL episode. And
- 34:13I said the same quote in both episodes where
- 34:16I said, I don't trust none of these motherfuckers.
- 34:19And I include the Eagles in that. Every team
- 34:22has done this. The Chiefs, up and down. Bills,
- 34:25up and down. The Rams, as good as they've been,
- 34:28they've had some bad losses too. And I'm gonna
- 34:30say one thing, what you said about that game
- 34:33with the Giants. They did get blitz by the Giants.
- 34:36But you dismiss that they ended up beating them
- 34:39two weeks later, 38 to 20. So it's like, you
- 34:43gotta take the good with the bad. That doesn't
- 34:45make me feel good. Cause the Eagles are better
- 34:47than everyone in the division. And they should
- 34:51not - You're not gonna win every game. They should
- 34:52though. They should not you should not lose to
- 34:56the New York football Giants Okay, listen if
- 35:00but I'm just saying if you make very good points
- 35:03I understand us. I understand that's how you
- 35:06feel. I know that's how you feel I could take
- 35:08it I have to be the realistic person man Steph
- 35:11Steph Curry's missed wide open threes and my
- 35:14mind's been blown like how the hell does Steph
- 35:16Curry miss that Every good team this season has
- 35:23lost games where you go, what the hell are they
- 35:25thinking? How did they lose to that team? And
- 35:27I'm going to go ahead and just close this out
- 35:29by taking the best example. You said that they
- 35:32slipped to number two in the NFC and they're
- 35:34behind the Rams. You know who the other Rams
- 35:36lost was to? It was to the San Francisco 49ers
- 35:39and they lost that game knowing that they should
- 35:42have won it. But guess what? That's another division
- 35:45game. this is how it goes. This is standard NFL
- 35:50football. And I know we can overanalyze it and
- 35:52talk about calls, yards per carry and fumbles
- 35:54and all that. These are the things that happen.
- 35:56And just to make you feel better, just to make
- 35:59you feel better. The Rams have the Cardinals
- 36:03again as a division game, the Seahawks again
- 36:05as a division game, and then the Cardinals again
- 36:08as a division game. So they're They're going
- 36:10to have to be, they're going to have to be as
- 36:12consistent as they've been all year to beat those
- 36:14teams. And I mean, they're on a one, two, they're
- 36:16on a six game winning streak right now. Chances
- 36:19are they're going to get up ended. And I mean,
- 36:21these are the things that happen. Guys take nights
- 36:25off. Guys have bad games. It's natural. I'm not
- 36:28going to let you get fired up. Don't get high
- 36:30blood pressure. It's going to happen, man. Just
- 36:33let the things happen the way that they should.
- 36:34I don't have high blood pressure. I have high
- 36:36cholesterol. I don't have either, but you know,
- 36:42I'm knocking on the door of diabetes. I'm older
- 36:44than you. And there you have it. Thanks for listening
- 36:48to another episode of Fanatically Speaking. I
- 36:51am log off. the log -off legend, the hater of
- 36:54all things social media. I'm the co -host and
- 36:57producer of the show. Thanks for listening to
- 36:59this mashup of terrible takes. We are not perfect
- 37:02human beings. No one is. And I don't care anyone
- 37:04who you listen to in sports media. I'm pretty
- 37:06sure they're gonna have some bad takes too. But
- 37:09unlike them, I don't mind owning it. And I don't
- 37:12think Kent minds owning it too. It's been a long
- 37:14season, specifically in the NFL and a lot of
- 37:17ups and downs and a lot of unpredictability.
- 37:21podcast is kind of a reflection of that. So we
- 37:23wanted to piece some things together just to
- 37:25kind of reflect, you know, as we move into 2026,
- 37:28you know, with some stronger takes and some more
- 37:31opinionated perspectives. And yeah, we'll try
- 37:34to see what we can do, you know, over the next,
- 37:36the next episodes that we record. But thanks
- 37:39again, you guys can follow us, like, share, subscribe
- 37:41on all social media platforms, TikTok, Facebook,
- 37:45Instagram. And of course, our podcast is available
