  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars are one and a half point road favorites in Houston, with an over under of 37 and a half implied score of like 19 to 18, 20 to 18, something like that, 19 to 17, that's where we're at with this game Jaguars and Texans.

  [SPEAKER_00]: For the Jack Wars, no Eric Murray, starting safety, leader, who is on IR for at least the next three games, no Travis Hunter, on IR for at least the next three games, no Britain Strange, who is on IR for at least this game, he could be back for the Chargers game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar did report that he had a concussion on Sunday, but I guess if he's practiced him full on Thursday, limited on Wednesday, he's trending towards potentially playing it seems like, but that remains to be seen.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Brian Thomas Jr. dealing with the ankle, had dealt with a shoulder, had dealt with a wrist,

  [SPEAKER_00]: Hunter Long still has not practiced this week, dealing with multiple injuries, Jordan Lewis still has not practiced this week, dealing with shoulder.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you've got a lot of guys potentially down, but you do have Jacobi Myers arriving, which is a big deal.

  [SPEAKER_00]: you have Devin Lloyd, set to return, which is a big deal.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You also have Tim Patrick.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And so when I look at Jacobi Myers arriving, everybody's talking about it, super power as his hands.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that is true.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think when you just talk about his hands, that might kind of not paint the full picture of what he is.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's also a great route runner and a tough player

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's big for the offense to have some stability, but how quickly can you get him up to speed or up to speed enough to make an impact positive impact on a game, I don't know.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He arrived on Wednesday.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But he's a smart guy, hard worker, very detail oriented, very good football player.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's going to be interesting.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then last week, you also didn't have Tim Patrick with the groin injury.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's back this week.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, Tim Patrick is a player that

  [SPEAKER_00]: A lot of experience in this league.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Similar to the Kobe Myers with really strong hands, a bigger body player like Jacoby Myers isn't small.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's almost six foot two, 200 plus pounds, but Tim Patrick, a bigger receiver, a bigger body receiver, not the explosive route runner that Jacoby Myers is, but a pro, a pro's pro for sure.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So having Jacoby Myers, having Tim Patrick, having

  [SPEAKER_00]: Parker Washington still in the fold.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think there's three guys right there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You can feel pretty good about at receiver.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Assuming you can get Jacobi Myers up to speed enough and I've seen so many folks on Twitter talking about Jacobi Myers being the F in Jacksonville.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Long term, that might be part of the plan.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Right now, Liam Cohen feels like playing outside as much easier to onboard in this offense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So Parker Washington is going to be the F or the slot receiver, the player who is moving around the formation a lot more than Jacobi Myers to start.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We'll see how things unfold in the future, but that's the plan for right now for Jacobi Myers.

  [SPEAKER_00]: In my opinion, Tim Patrick, to Kobe Myers, outside, Parker Washington, inside.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's what I'm expecting to see, and then Devon Lloyd set to return as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think you can overstate how important Devon Lloyd is for the Jaguar's defense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And that's not really to slight ventral miller, who is somewhat limited as a linebacker, but a really good run defender and hard effort, type of player.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But Devin Lloyd just provides so much more versatility.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's a leader for this football team as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's a playmaker, he's somebody who can rush the passer, he's somebody who can execute in coverage with his length and feel for that a little bit better than ventral.

  [SPEAKER_00]: he's also a great run defender.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So Devon Lloyd, I think is big for the jag wars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And they probably could have played him last week, but they felt like the re-injury risk was higher than they wanted it to be.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They feel really good about where he's at this.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We can same thing with Tim Patrick with the groin.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So those two guys should be.

  [SPEAKER_00]: like really good to go coming off those injuries, not like maybe they can play like they're good to go.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's big in my opinion, but injuries will be a major storyline for both teams.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Texans also have a number of players that will be potentially questionable or doubtful for this game, including J.L.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and Petri, Titus Howard, at Ingram and others, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, and of course CJ Straud has been ruled out.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So Davis Mills, you know,

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's not a bad backup and he's beaten the Jaguar as a couple times before in his career.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He has a lot of experience.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to bury the lead though.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Texans offensive has been bad.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They've been a bad offense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They do not have a good running game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Although Woody Marx can be explosive, their running game has really only gotten going against bad run defenses against teams that are not executing in the run game at all.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Defensively, Jaguar's run defense is the most consistent part of their game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They're allowing like 3.5 yards per carry to opposing running backs this year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Textions are not good and past pro

  [SPEAKER_00]: Titus Howard, if he can't play, I mean, he's maybe their most consistent past protector.

  [SPEAKER_00]: One thing I can say about the Texan's offense, I think Davis Mills and the receivers, if they have time to throw the ball in decent situations, can probably get some yards on the Jaguars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Niko Collins and Davis Mills, they've played a lot together, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: You look at Christian Kirk, he's back.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think Jalen Noel and Jaden Higgins are two talented receivers from Iowa State.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And so is Xavier Hutchinson, who's from Iowa State.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's been in the league a couple years now and he's actually

  [SPEAKER_00]: a Jacksonville guy, Bartron Trail, so shout out to him obviously, not pull him for him this week, but he's a good player.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think, and then you have Dalton Schultz as well, and Mark's out of the backfield.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So they have the receiving talent to threaten the Jaguars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Nico Collins is their best player and he's an outside receiver and I think that the Jaguar's outside corners are starting to play better.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think it Greg Newsome getting a much larger chunk of the snaps now over the last couple weeks and playing well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Buster Brown is playing well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying they're gonna shut down Nico Collins, but can you not have him wreck the game?

  [SPEAKER_00]: The way a Jamar Chase has wrecked the game, the way a Brock Bowers has wrecked the game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You name the opposing Superstar receiver, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: They've probably wrecked the Jaguars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I think they are in a better spot outside.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, at safety, very concerned, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Very concerned with that situation with Eric Murray being down.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, Caleb ran so out for the year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So you're looking at Antonio Johnson, Andrew Wingard, little rail and lane, see the field at all.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The jag wars, though, they have to figure out how to get that spot playing a little bit better, maybe Devon Lloyd can help in that regard.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But if Jordan Lewis can't go, which kind of seems likely at this point, I do like Jari and Jones as a backup nickel.

  [SPEAKER_00]: a guy who a lot of folks thought would be the starting nickel after last year, but the jaguars went and got a leader, a playmaker in Jordan Lewis.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think Jarian Jones played pretty well last week, certainly not perfect.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's a physical kind of grabby, but super athlete, super tough, just feisty type of nickel.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I think he can do some things for you positive in this defense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, I think with a backup quarterback, you want to be able to run the ball.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that that's gonna be like, what the Texans are able to do in this game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think they're gonna have to throw the ball and that can give the Jaguar some opportunities because again, they're Texans, the past pro, not very good.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If Titus Howard, I didn't in Grimcan't Go, even worse, Josh Hines Allen,

  [SPEAKER_00]: If the Jaguar stop the run, which they've done in every game this year outside of really the chiefs game, figure out how to mitigate back breaking explosives a little bit, it's going to be a tough game for the Texans offense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then last couple of weeks, teams have dinked him dunked their way down the field on the Jaguar's quite a bit.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Can the Jaguar try to eliminate that a little bit more by playing a little bit

  [SPEAKER_00]: tighter, more aggressive coverage up front, and that doesn't mean man covers that you can be more aggressive in zone as well, and I don't think the Jaguar should get into this contest where they're just in man all the time.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's not going to be to their advantage.

  [SPEAKER_00]: On the other side, the Jaguar's running game has been good basically all year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's one thing you can hang your hat on.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think Trevor Lawrence is playing a lot better.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think, you know, Jacobi Myers, Parker Washington, Tim Patrick, can you live with that?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, would you like to have Travis Hunter for sure?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Would you like to have Brian Thomas Jr., absolutely.

  [SPEAKER_00]: BTJ has been very up and down.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think Travis Hunter's been good when he's been targeted a lot.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You know, right now, can Jacobi Myers be more consistent for you than Brian Thomas Jr. has been?

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think the answer is probably yes.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be as explosive or, you know, be able to do some of the things that Brian Thomas Jr. can do physically, no, but can he run the right route, be where he's supposed to be, catch tough passes, all those things, I think so.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's going to be interesting to see.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But the Texans defense, it's legit.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They came out and like bare front, five man front, a lot against the Jaguars in week three, which was a unscouted kind of unexpected wrinkle.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They'll probably try to bring some little bit of unexpected wrinkle this week as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They're super talented, pass rushers, Aziz Alshir, even though you know,

  [SPEAKER_00]: public enemy number one in Jacksonville.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's a good player.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You look at their secondary.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that their past rush combined with their secondary players is the best in the league.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, Stingley is unbelievable.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Katelyn Bullock are really good player.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They've just got really good secondary players all over.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, Jalen Petrie is somebody to see if he's going to be able to go or not, it seems like it's trending in the wrong direction for him from a health standpoint for this week.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars figured out how to run the ball in the second half against the Texans last time they played.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think if they can, that will vote well for them as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Pre-snap penalties drops the occasional WTF moment by Trevor Lawrence, the occasional MA coverage bust, whatever you want to call it on defense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: These things have really been what's holding the Jaguar back from being a team that could potentially be, I mean, the Jaguar could be seven and one right now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It looks like kicker who helped the Jaguars end a 20-game losing streak.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So Matthew Wright, former Jacksonville Jaguar, you see F. Knight, looks like he's going to be getting the call for the Texans at kicker and you know, speaking of kicker, can Cam little continue with what he did last week.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Can Logan cook continued what he did last week, like Logan cook got a punt down inside the five.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He also had an unbelievable hold.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, can you continue that can you clean up the kit coverage that'll be a big deal.

  [SPEAKER_00]: all the Texans are severs and I'm not saying shut them down the entire game but handle them to the point where you can hold them to a minimal score because it's going to be hard score in points against their defense consistently.
