- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30Ooh, so it's going to talk to you about something different
- 0:33today. When I opened the door to walk
- 0:35outside the weather had shifted and it was not a big shift, just
- 0:41a small shift but it went from feeling very warm to very cool
- 0:48and like comfortably cool and I thought to myself
- 0:52instantaneously it changed my state like boom I open the door
- 0:57and I was like, oh wow, it's a great day to work out.
- 1:00Again and I felt reinvigorated almost by just the fact that
- 1:06there was a cool little breeze. And I felt a certain way.
- 1:09And I thought to myself, you know, I really want to talk to
- 1:11everybody about this because it's amazing how we forget
- 1:16small. Things make such a big
- 1:17difference. There's a Buddhist saying that
- 1:19says, if you don't think that small things matter, spend the
- 1:22night with a mosquito and boy, isn't that true?
- 1:28Because you cannot stand Spending the night with a
- 1:31mosquito, we will go to the nth degree to get rid of the
- 1:34mosquito. I can remember as a child in the
- 1:36house crying and my father running around the room trying
- 1:39to find the mosquito because it would buzz in my ear and then I
- 1:42would freak out and he would come in be my hero, sit on the
- 1:47end of the bed. Wait for the mosquito, he
- 1:49obviously was exhausted because he had worked all day, but he
- 1:53still showed up and did the dad thing, which was wonderful.
- 1:58And I will never forget how That always made me feel that he
- 2:03would come in and do those things.
- 2:05But that is not about this today.
- 2:06This is about the mosquito Factor, so this little tiny
- 2:09shift today. Oh, the weather.
- 2:11And we all know that the weather out there when it's not great
- 2:14for us and how we day after day. If we don't have enough sunshine
- 2:19or we're stuck in, you know, rain clouds, whatever, how it
- 2:23affects us. I mean, it's a very
- 2:27psychological tie to the weather, but this It's just
- 2:30like, it's a small shift. So it's like, oh wow, this is
- 2:33interesting and I think we forget, just forget over and
- 2:37over again, how these little tiny things make such a
- 2:40difference to us and we focus on all the big things and it's not
- 2:44all about the big things. It's about all the tiny things.
- 2:47It's about all the little awarenesses that you can make in
- 2:51your life to say. Wait, if this is different than
- 2:54I'm going to feel different. And then, if I feel different
- 2:56things show up differently because ultimately, we are
- 2:59responsible for the condition. In which we live.
- 3:01And as much as we don't want to face that fact that we are
- 3:05responsible for the conditions in which we live, we are.
- 3:09And we have to face the fact that we are creating constantly
- 3:16our reaction to those conditions.
- 3:18We create the reaction to the conditions.
- 3:21We are responsible for them, the reactions and the reactions, and
- 3:26the reality of what we live in. Well, most of us, that On here,
- 3:31probably believe the same things, we are responsible for
- 3:34creating those conditions. You know, I wasn't happy where I
- 3:39was living, so I changed where I was living.
- 3:45It's a very, it's a very simple concept, difficult to execute.
- 3:49And some people would say, well, you know, I'm not happy in my
- 3:52job, I can't get anything else and I would argue the point.
- 3:55Well, you can, and those are big things to change, but I'm
- 3:58talking today. Just about the small Things.
- 4:01The small teeny tiny things. You can, of course, change the
- 4:04big things, and people always become like shocked.
- 4:08When we say to them meet people, my husband, and I, and we'll
- 4:11say, oh yeah, we came here for a visit to South Carolina.
- 4:15And then six weeks later we moved from, Rhode, Island, South
- 4:18Carolina. And I'm like, what how could you
- 4:20do that? Well, you can do anything you
- 4:23want, you can do anything, you put your mind to, you can do
- 4:25anything that you make a decision is important enough to
- 4:28you. And for us, that was important.
- 4:30We recognize Recognized what was going on and we just were like,
- 4:32no, no more of this. But the small daily things we
- 4:35have to do the same thing. All these little annoyances he
- 4:38and I were just talking about it yesterday and he's like, you
- 4:42know, I have to take care of this.
- 4:43He has pet rabbits and he's like, I have to fix this because
- 4:48it drives me crazy every day for them.
- 4:49So he's designing these things that are better for them and
- 4:53fixing their, their world and it just makes such a massive
- 4:57difference, all the little things getting cleaned up, all
- 5:00the the little tiny things getting cleaned up in your head
- 5:03and looking and saying these all these little tiny small things
- 5:07that irritate frustrate Just look at them, just say to
- 5:12yourself and even if it's not an irritation, let's take this from
- 5:17a different perspective even if it's just the simple thing of
- 5:20saying, you know what, I want something to be better.
- 5:22And I'm going to make small shifts to get it better over and
- 5:25over. It's kind of like I like to
- 5:28think of it as you know. Teddy Roosevelt was very known
- 5:33for writing a speech and then redoing the speech and redoing
- 5:36the speech and redoing the speech and redoing the speech
- 5:39same speech. H.
- 5:40But he would make small distinctions over and over and
- 5:43over again before he actually delivered the speech.
- 5:46And a lot of the great orators of that time did the same exact
- 5:51thing like you, you couldn't get past it, where they would
- 5:54practice, and they would change like two words, three words, and
- 5:58then the speech would become legendary.
- 6:01So in order to do that for yourself, look at all those
- 6:04little small shifts because they matter and if you don't think
- 6:07so, we get a slap in the face. Just like The weather today did
- 6:10to me like wow, small shift, big change.
- 6:14And so, think about that small, shifts, equal, big changes.
- 6:18So keep that in mind. And I hope you guys have a very
- 6:20blessed day and I will see you tomorrow.
- 6:22Bye.
