Latest / Therapy Thursday with Ellen K / I Can't Find the Perfect Woman for Me feat. Stephen Baldwin
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Listen, Jethro, I'm 60 years old. I'm with the same
- 0:05Speaker 1: gal since we're 19. And some of the best things
- 0:10Speaker 1: about what's happened to us in our relationship is the
- 0:13Speaker 1: learning curve. She's probably not as perfect now as she
- 0:19Speaker 1: was before, but that dynamic causes me to have to change.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Stephen Baldwin is here with us on the Therapy Thursday podcast. Welcome, Stephen.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Thanks for making us laugh.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Oh, I'm having a good time. 30th anniversary of Biodome. Yes,
- 0:41Speaker 3: this year.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Pauly Shore, ladies and gentlemen. The fabulous Pauly Shore. We're
- 0:47Speaker 1: trying to work out a sequel.
- 0:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Because what happened was we did Biodome, and that was MGM.
- 0:54Speaker 1: And there was a lawsuit against the library of MGM,
- 0:57Speaker 1: so we couldn't do a sequel. Amazon. Thank you, Dr. Bezos.
- 1:02Speaker 1: We love you, daddy. Yes. He buys it.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Oh.
- 1:06Speaker 1: And now he owns, you know, James Bond 007 and
- 1:08Speaker 1: he owns. So now we're back talking about whether or
- 1:11Speaker 1: not there could be a Biodome 2 sequel. There must.
- 1:14Speaker 1: But I just got to figure out if I want
- 1:16Speaker 1: to do it because Pauly's gnarly. I mean, you talk
- 1:18Speaker 1: about Tori being naughty.
- 1:20Speaker 4: Oh, okay.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Pauly's naughty.
- 1:22Speaker 2: My claim to fame, one of them.
- 1:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:25Speaker 3: You dated Pauly Shore?
- 1:28Speaker 2: I did not date him. I was chased hard by him,
- 1:31Speaker 2: and he would come to me, and he would say,
- 1:34Speaker 2: come on, let me wheeze you. He was the wheezer.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Let me wheeze.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Can I wheeze you? Don't you want to wheeze?
- 1:40Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Was that his word?
- 1:42Speaker 1: I could make so many jokes right now between wheeze
- 1:44Speaker 1: and wheeze, and I'm going to leave it alone. I'm
- 1:45Speaker 1: just leaving it.
- 1:47Speaker 2: He's the wheezer.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Remember, he's the weasel. He's the weasel.
- 1:50Speaker 1: The weasel. And then he'd go.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Remember?
- 1:53Speaker 3: Yeah, he's crazy.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Yeah, he chased me, but he was my thing.
- 1:58Speaker 1: You should consider him now.
- 2:00Speaker 2: No, I'm married now. I have to be married. Pre-marriage days.
- 2:04Speaker 2: All right, amen. But yeah, The Weasel. Gotta behave.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Yeah, let me wheeze ya. Wheeze the juice in Encino Man.
- 2:10Speaker 3: What a great film.
- 2:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Right?
- 2:12Speaker 1: In the Army now. Yes. But his stand-up stuff now
- 2:16Speaker 1: is really good. He's really crazy. But he's good with
- 2:20Speaker 1: the audience. You know, in the improv thing with stand-up,
- 2:24Speaker 1: it's kind of hard to really know what you're doing.
- 2:26Speaker 1: And Paulie's mental.
- 2:28Speaker 2: So is this a yes or a no for Biodome 2?
- 2:31Speaker 1: I would do it. Yeah. You know, but it's just
- 2:33Speaker 1: like Paul Corvino. Over here at IHART, he wants to
- 2:37Speaker 1: maybe bring my one bad movie over here. I said, Paulie,
- 2:40Speaker 1: you've got to write me a check down.
- 2:42Speaker 2: I need the.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Cash order for the Brazilian wife.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Can people come see you? Do you do stuff out
- 2:50Speaker 3: where people can come say hi to you?
- 2:51Speaker 1: Yes. So I won't get into how I know Paul Corvino,
- 2:54Speaker 1: but we did a movie a long time ago called
- 2:56Speaker 1: Shelter Island that was a little naughty in its own right.
- 3:00Speaker 1: We'll just leave that right here.
- 3:01Speaker 2: All right.
- 3:02Speaker 1: And I'm getting ready in September 17th around there in
- 3:05Speaker 1: New Jersey. There's something coming up, a big con called
- 3:09Speaker 1: Paisan Con.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Oh, I love it already.
- 3:11Speaker 1: And it's all the mafioso actors from Sopranos and The Godfather.
- 3:16Speaker 1: And I did a movie called One Tough Cop with
- 3:19Speaker 1: Chris Penn where I played this guy, the real Bo Deedle.
- 3:21Speaker 6: Yes.
- 3:22Speaker 1: This guy in New York. And he had like mafia affiliations.
- 3:25Speaker 4: Yes.
- 3:26Speaker 1: So I'm basically an honorary Paisan, and they've invited me
- 3:31Speaker 1: to come to this con, and I'm really looking forward
- 3:33Speaker 1: to Paisan Con.
- 3:34Speaker 2: That is awesome.
- 3:35Speaker 5: Very cool.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Is this the first of its kind?
- 3:37Speaker 1: No, it's been going on, but this is the biggest
- 3:39Speaker 1: one this year. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because it's not just
- 3:41Speaker 1: a con where you sit and you sign and meet
- 3:43Speaker 1: people and take pictures. they're going to have like big
- 3:46Speaker 1: interviews and podcasts and entertainment. And it's, this year is
- 3:49Speaker 1: the first time they're doing a Sopranos reunion.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Oh my God. Are you going to do one bad
- 3:53Speaker 2: movie from Paisan Con?
- 3:55Speaker 1: I'm talking to him about it.
- 3:56Speaker 4: Okay.
- 3:57Speaker 1: That'd be cool.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Like that would be amazing.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Yeah. It's going to be fun.
- 4:00Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Very excited.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Oh my God. I love that.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Do you find it hard to get people to admit
- 4:06Speaker 3: that they have had a stinker? Like, like, is it tough?
- 4:09Speaker 1: No.
- 4:10Speaker 4: No.
- 4:10Speaker 1: That's why the show's doing so great because, It's like
- 4:13Speaker 1: I said, when I talked to Tori the first episode,
- 4:16Speaker 1: I said, hey, you know, blah, blah, blah, what's your
- 4:19Speaker 1: one bad movie? And I had looked at some of
- 4:21Speaker 1: her films, but the one she picked was not the
- 4:25Speaker 1: one you expected. So that's the fun of the conversation. Interesting.
- 4:30Speaker 1: If you look up on their IMDb, you can see
- 4:32Speaker 1: some like, you know, just from the poster, you know,
- 4:34Speaker 1: it's not good. But, you know, in developing the show...
- 4:40Speaker 1: I've done over 100 features in 40 years. So the
- 4:44Speaker 1: fun part was with my producing team, I'm like, well, yeah,
- 4:47Speaker 1: and this will be cool because, you know, the first
- 4:48Speaker 1: couple episodes I could talk about my, I don't know,
- 4:51Speaker 1: I really didn't count. I would imagine I have about
- 4:53Speaker 1: seven bad movies. These guys were like, already did the rest.
- 4:57Speaker 1: They're like, 23 of your 100 are just awful.
- 5:03Speaker 2: But wouldn't that be an average step for every actor?
- 5:06Speaker 1: Yes.
- 5:07Speaker 2: You know what I mean? That's not even 25%. Well,
- 5:09Speaker 2: I think there's more, but still, it's a bad number.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Okay, well, I'm trying to look at the bottom of
- 5:14Speaker 1: the side. But it's the fun we're having is watching
- 5:19Speaker 1: the interviewee kind of let their hair down and talk
- 5:22Speaker 1: about their bad movie because then they're not giving that
- 5:26Speaker 1: usual response.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Yes.
- 5:28Speaker 1: So I'm just having a blast with it. And I
- 5:30Speaker 1: get to interview people that I think are fabulous.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Is Hugh Jackman going to come on?
- 5:34Speaker 1: I don't think so. I don't think he's going to
- 5:38Speaker 1: talk about his bad movies at this point. He's Wolverine, man.
- 5:43Speaker 2: He's doing okay. That's right. He's doing great.
- 5:46Speaker 3: You want to call Jethro?
- 5:47Speaker 2: Yeah, we're going to call Jethro. Jethro doesn't know you're here,
- 5:52Speaker 2: Stephen Baldwin, but Jethro is calling for some therapy with
- 5:54Speaker 2: Sarah Nash.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Please. Wise man.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Jethro's got a little bit of a problem with dating.
- 6:04Speaker 2: He has a lot of rules.
- 6:06Speaker 4: Good morning.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Hey, Jethro. It's Therapy Thursday. Yeah, we're good. We're here
- 6:12Speaker 2: with Sarah Dash.
- 6:13Speaker 5: Hey, Jethro.
- 6:14Speaker 2: And we have a special surprise for you. Stephen Baldwin
- 6:17Speaker 2: is here to help you with your troubles. He's going
- 6:19Speaker 2: to tackle your troubles along with Sarah.
- 6:23Speaker 4: Okay.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Yeah. Fire away, Jethro.
- 6:28Speaker 3: All right.
- 6:29Speaker 4: Well, I guess basically I'm at my wit's end. I'm
- 6:33Speaker 4: just like, tired of dating basically.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Okay.
- 6:38Speaker 5: What's going on?
- 6:40Speaker 4: I just feel like everyone out here is wasting my time.
- 6:43Speaker 4: You know, um, I, I want to get married. I'm
- 6:46Speaker 4: 44 years old and it's time, you know, but you know,
- 6:51Speaker 4: finding the right girls is difficult. Um, and you know,
- 6:55Speaker 4: some of my friends make fun of me for it.
- 6:57Speaker 4: I don't really get why they do that. I mean,
- 6:59Speaker 4: you wouldn't buy a house without knowing what you want.
- 7:02Speaker 4: You know, why, why, choosing your life partner should be
- 7:06Speaker 4: any different than that, you know? Um, and I guess
- 7:12Speaker 4: I feel like, I don't feel like this is a
- 7:14Speaker 4: lot to ask for in a partner, but I want
- 7:16Speaker 4: someone who's got a stable career, you know, makes good money,
- 7:18Speaker 4: wants children, you know, close with family, owns a home,
- 7:22Speaker 4: or at least, you know, is on, um, the path
- 7:24Speaker 4: to owning a home, you know, someone who likes to travel,
- 7:28Speaker 4: just financially responsible, um, No crazy ex-boyfriend drama because I've
- 7:34Speaker 4: dealt with that before. And I've got like, you know,
- 7:38Speaker 4: kind of a set of smaller kind of prerequisites.
- 7:41Speaker 1: I guess.
- 7:43Speaker 4: You know, she's more than 10 minutes late to a
- 7:45Speaker 4: first date without texting. There's no second date. You know,
- 7:48Speaker 4: she orders too many drinks. I'm not going out with
- 7:50Speaker 4: her again. And, you know, and I always ask myself
- 7:54Speaker 4: one question at the end of the night. Can I
- 7:56Speaker 4: can I picture myself walking down the aisle with this woman?
- 8:00Speaker 4: And if I can't, then I'm done right there. And
- 8:05Speaker 4: my friends, they get on my case all the time.
- 8:07Speaker 4: They're like, this is why you're single. This stuff right
- 8:11Speaker 4: here is why you're single. I went out with a
- 8:14Speaker 4: lady last week. She was really smart, successful, funny, attractive.
- 8:19Speaker 4: And we had a good time, but I declined going
- 8:22Speaker 4: on a second date with her because she's not tall
- 8:25Speaker 4: enough for me. I want a girl who's 5'10 and up.
- 8:28Speaker 4: So my buddies are pissed off. They're, you know, they
- 8:31Speaker 4: think I eliminated a good one.
- 8:34Speaker 2: A good candidate.
- 8:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:36Speaker 1: I have a question, Jethro. My first question is, have
- 8:40Speaker 1: you ever thought about marrying a robot? I think you'd
- 8:44Speaker 1: solve all your issues.
- 8:48Speaker 2: I mean, Jethro.
- 8:49Speaker 1: No. I'm teasing you, brother. You know what? She's out there.
- 8:54Speaker 1: You've got to keep believing. Go ahead, Sarah.
- 8:56Speaker 6: I mean, Jethro, I don't know if the question is
- 9:00Speaker 6: so much about you finding love, finding a wife. It's
- 9:03Speaker 6: more about you finding someone who meets your requirements. And
- 9:07Speaker 6: that's a little bit of a different question.
- 9:10Speaker 5: I kind of want to talk about the 5'10.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Why 5'10?
- 9:16Speaker 5: Specifically.
- 9:17Speaker 4: I just don't want to date shorter girls. But I
- 9:23Speaker 4: got to like, you know, I just, I don't know.
- 9:26Speaker 4: It's weird.
- 9:28Speaker 6: I guess the reason why, yeah, it is. That's the
- 9:31Speaker 6: thing is it's a preference. It's not a non-negotiable. And
- 9:34Speaker 6: I think when we're talking about, you know, what we're
- 9:36Speaker 6: looking for, we have preferences and then we have non-negotiables.
- 9:41Speaker 6: And I hear that you're making that preference into a non-negotiable.
- 9:44Speaker 5: It's also a pretty rare physical trait.
- 9:48Speaker 6: So you're reducing your potential dating pool significantly before you've
- 9:53Speaker 6: even gotten to the things that probably matter to you
- 9:56Speaker 6: a little bit more.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Put her in some heels, Jethro. You know what I'm saying?
- 10:02Speaker 2: It's easy.
- 10:04Speaker 4: I could maybe bend on that rule a little bit.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Let's talk about the being late. Ten minutes late, there's
- 10:10Speaker 2: not a second date. What if there was traffic or
- 10:13Speaker 2: something unforeseeable?
- 10:15Speaker 5: And she left her phone and couldn't get in touch
- 10:16Speaker 5: with you.
- 10:19Speaker 4: I would go on a case by case basis with that. But,
- 10:21Speaker 4: you know, I just feel like it's disrespectful. I would
- 10:25Speaker 4: never to anybody, not even just for a date. But
- 10:28Speaker 4: if I was running late, I'm letting somebody know.
- 10:30Speaker 1: I have another question, Jethro. Does the same apply for you?
- 10:35Speaker 5: I love that.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, it does. So then you're never late and
- 10:41Speaker 1: you're 5'11. I'm playing devil's advocate here just because I'm
- 10:47Speaker 1: curious about your response.
- 10:48Speaker 5: You're a homeowner.
- 10:50Speaker 4: I walk the walk. I mean, if I'm going to
- 10:52Speaker 4: be more than 10 minutes late, I'm definitely texting. If
- 10:54Speaker 4: I'm five minutes late, I'm texting. I'm just letting whoever
- 10:58Speaker 4: knows know that their time is valuable.
- 11:01Speaker 6: And the other requirements in terms of home ownership, no
- 11:05Speaker 6: crazy ex, all that kind of stuff, you're a homeowner?
- 11:08Speaker 4: I am, yeah.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Okay, good.
- 11:12Speaker 6: So you are offering what you are demanding.
- 11:17Speaker 4: Yeah, I want a little playing field. I don't feel
- 11:19Speaker 4: like that's a lot to ask for.
- 11:20Speaker 1: I can tell you right now, Jethro, if we were
- 11:22Speaker 1: going to date, I'd need flood insurance, babe. I'd need
- 11:25Speaker 1: some flood insurance. You don't have flood insurance. I don't
- 11:29Speaker 1: care what kind of home you have.
- 11:33Speaker 3: What do you do for fun, Jethro? I'm just curious.
- 11:35Speaker 1: What brings you joy?
- 11:36Speaker 3: I'm getting, and I do not mean this to be offensive.
- 11:39Speaker 1: I really don't.
- 11:39Speaker 3: I just feel like maybe you're taking some joy off
- 11:42Speaker 3: the table by closing yourself off.
- 11:46Speaker 4: I'm a bit of a recluse. I read a lot, and.
- 11:52Speaker 4: Bit of a cinephile. So like, you know, like good
- 11:55Speaker 4: movies and stuff like that.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Stephen Baldwin has a hundred of those.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:59Speaker 4: 76.
- 11:59Speaker 1: What about video games? What about you play videos?
- 12:03Speaker 3: No, no.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Do you spend time on the internet at all? Oh, sure.
- 12:08Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 12:08Speaker 4: Reasonable amount.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Do you go to special places at all?
- 12:12Speaker 4: I mean, I'm not going to say I never have,
- 12:16Speaker 4: but it's not like a chronic or anything.
- 12:20Speaker 2: I think I know.
- 12:21Speaker 1: This is it. Throwing it over to Sarah.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Jethro, you've had your heart broken, and now you're afraid.
- 12:28Speaker 6: You know, I think Ellen makes a huge point, and
- 12:30Speaker 6: I wonder if you're looking for compatibility, or are you
- 12:33Speaker 6: looking to kind of create a scenario where you can
- 12:37Speaker 6: never be vulnerable?
- 12:39Speaker 2: I think you're scared because I think someone really crushed you.
- 12:43Speaker 4: Well, we've all been there, you know, but no, I just,
- 12:48Speaker 4: for me, I just look at it as I don't
- 12:50Speaker 4: want to lower my standards. That's level playing field is
- 12:56Speaker 4: really important for me.
- 12:58Speaker 1: I just want, listen, Jethro, I'm with this. I'm 60
- 13:01Speaker 1: years old. I'm with the same gal since we're 19.
- 13:06Speaker 1: And some of the best things about what's happened to
- 13:09Speaker 1: us in our relationship is the learning curve. She's probably
- 13:15Speaker 1: not as perfect now as she was before, but that
- 13:21Speaker 1: dynamic causes me to have to change. If I really
- 13:26Speaker 1: want to hang on and have a marriage that's meaningful
- 13:32Speaker 1: and passionate, listen, sometimes she ticks me off, but sometimes
- 13:38Speaker 1: I'm a total jerk. And, you know, you're going to
- 13:40Speaker 1: miss out on a lot if you try to make
- 13:42Speaker 1: it perfect from the beginning. Yeah.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Such a good point.
- 13:47Speaker 6: I mean, I think about the question that you're asking
- 13:50Speaker 6: yourself at the end of this date. Can I walk
- 13:52Speaker 6: down the aisle? And I don't really think that's the
- 13:54Speaker 6: right question to be acting, asking after a first date.
- 13:58Speaker 5: I mean, first date.
- 13:59Speaker 6: Question is really, would I like to get to know
- 14:02Speaker 6: this person better?
- 14:03Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 14:04Speaker 6: It's not necessarily walking down the aisle because if you're
- 14:07Speaker 6: eliminating people so quickly, the chances of you walking down
- 14:11Speaker 6: the aisle are limited.
- 14:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Very good.
- 14:16Speaker 4: I see your point. Yeah.
- 14:20Speaker 3: Where are you meeting these people?
- 14:25Speaker 4: Usually, like, you know, just dating apps.
- 14:27Speaker 6: Apps.
- 14:27Speaker 1: The apps. Okay. All right.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Have you ever tried to just meet a person in person?
- 14:33Speaker 4: Yeah, no, that's happened too, just, you know, grocery, the gym.
- 14:37Speaker 2: That's always fun.
- 14:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm not, like, I don't, it's, for me, dating
- 14:42Speaker 4: apps are just a tool in a toolbox. You know,
- 14:45Speaker 4: I'm not, I don't rely on them, but.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Well, how would you.
- 14:48Speaker 4: We are there.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Steven and or Sarah or Ellen, like, what would you
- 14:51Speaker 3: recommend he do now to, I don't know, I don't
- 14:54Speaker 3: want to say fix it because it doesn't sound like
- 14:56Speaker 3: to him it's broken. How do you, what do you do? Like,
- 14:59Speaker 3: how do you even, what's your next step?
- 15:01Speaker 6: I think he needs to reframe what dating is. That
- 15:05Speaker 6: dating is about getting to know somebody. It's not an
- 15:08Speaker 6: elimination test.
- 15:11Speaker 1: I'd just get a puppy. Because usually great gals love puppies.
- 15:17Speaker 1: That's true. Okay, Jethro, fair with you. I'd get a
- 15:20Speaker 1: cute little, you know, Pomeranian. They all love Pomeranian.
- 15:24Speaker 4: I have been thinking about it.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Excellent suggestion, Stephen.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Thank you. And that's a really good path for you
- 15:33Speaker 2: to follow, Jethro. Just get the puppy. Maybe the puppy
- 15:35Speaker 2: will take you out of your mind.
- 15:36Speaker 1: See, you haven't been to the dog park, bro. That's
- 15:40Speaker 1: a possibility.
- 15:41Speaker 6: Yep.
- 15:43Speaker 4: I think you're onto something.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Love it.
- 15:48Speaker 2: I have a friend who rescued a dog, and he
- 15:51Speaker 2: met the love of his life at the rescue.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 15:55Speaker 2: What a sweet story. It was like you with your wife, Stephen. Thunderbolts.
- 16:00Speaker 2: And that was it. And they were both, they're both,
- 16:03Speaker 2: you know, rescuing dogs and their dogs were somehow related
- 16:07Speaker 2: and they had a kid together and they're so happy.
- 16:09Speaker 2: And it was all because he was lonely and he
- 16:14Speaker 2: wanted to have a doggy companion. And then he met
- 16:16Speaker 2: the love of his life.
- 16:18Speaker 5: It's a really sweet story.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:21Speaker 3: That's an interesting word though, too. Jethro, are you lonely?
- 16:25Speaker 4: No, I wouldn't say I'm lonely. I've got a good
- 16:27Speaker 4: support network, friends, family.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Okay. But you don't have a puppy.
- 16:34Speaker 4: No, no, I don't. But I have really seriously been
- 16:37Speaker 4: thinking about getting one recently. I love it. Kind of
- 16:39Speaker 4: funny that you mentioned that.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Yeah, dogs are fabulous.
- 16:43Speaker 5: I try to take a little of the pressure off.
- 16:45Speaker 6: I mean, you've got this urgency mixed with this really
- 16:48Speaker 6: high standards. And I think it's kind of messing you
- 16:51Speaker 6: up a little bit. I think you're really anxious about
- 16:53Speaker 6: a process that should be joyful and exciting.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Yes. But Jethro, if you get the dog, if you
- 16:59Speaker 1: get the dog and you go to the dog park
- 17:03Speaker 1: and you see the love of your life there and
- 17:05Speaker 1: she has a Great Dane, she's not the one.
- 17:09Speaker 4: Okay?
- 17:09Speaker 1: All right. If it's a Great Dane, run. Okay.
- 17:19Speaker 3: Well, we want happiness for you, I think, ultimately, you know,
- 17:22Speaker 3: for everybody. Yeah, of course.
- 17:26Speaker 4: No, I appreciate it. And one of you said something
- 17:28Speaker 4: that I'm going to try to work on. Instead of
- 17:30Speaker 4: thinking about could I see myself walking down the aisle,
- 17:33Speaker 4: I'm going to try and start asking myself, do I
- 17:36Speaker 4: want to get to know this person?
- 17:37Speaker 2: That was our professional, Sarah Dash. She's a licensed therapist,
- 17:41Speaker 2: unlike Stephen Baldwin.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Yeah, okay.
- 17:43Speaker 6: Who I think should be a licensed therapist after this.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Who out of 100 movies has 27 really bad ones.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Just so you know. Hey, man.
- 17:53Speaker 4: Usual Suspects is the greatest heist film of all time,
- 17:57Speaker 4: and it'll never be done.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Yeah, there you go. What a delightful day that you
- 18:01Speaker 2: were surprised by Stephen Baldwin.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Yeah, man.
- 18:05Speaker 4: It's kind of surreal.
- 18:08Speaker 2: He has a podcast, too. It's called One Bad Movie,
- 18:10Speaker 2: so you know what that's about.
- 18:12Speaker 4: Okay. All right.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Well, Jethro, I think you sound like a lot of fun.
- 18:17Speaker 2: I think that if you, if you relax and do
- 18:20Speaker 2: what Sarah did, just why don't, why don't go make
- 18:22Speaker 2: friends that are females?
- 18:25Speaker 1: I do.
- 18:26Speaker 4: I have female friends.
- 18:27Speaker 3: Okay. Do they, can they, do they, can they coach
- 18:30Speaker 3: you a little better? You know, I think listening to females, dude, no,
- 18:35Speaker 3: I'm serious. Listening to females about, about this topic is
- 18:38Speaker 3: your best friend.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Well, I have a question. Is there any one of
- 18:42Speaker 1: your just plain old female friends that you could think, huh,
- 18:50Speaker 1: I wonder if we took it to the next level,
- 18:52Speaker 1: what that might be like?
- 18:56Speaker 4: I mean, it's crossed my mind before, but I have
- 19:00Speaker 4: a really, I think, good habit of once I make
- 19:03Speaker 4: a really good friend with a female, I don't like to,
- 19:06Speaker 4: no matter how good looking she is, I don't like
- 19:08Speaker 4: to mess, I don't like to mess that up. And
- 19:10Speaker 4: if I feel like it's like a genuine friendship, I'm like, no,
- 19:13Speaker 4: I'm going to leave it right here.
- 19:14Speaker 1: But it's not unusual, Jeffro, that friends at some point go, hey,
- 19:17Speaker 1: wait a second.
- 19:18Speaker 4: Yep.
- 19:19Speaker 1: What's marriage all about? If your wife can't be your
- 19:23Speaker 1: best friend.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Oh, man.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Et cetera, et cetera. So listen, you do your thing, homie.
- 19:29Speaker 1: If I were you, I'd get out to the dog
- 19:31Speaker 1: park as ASAP. But that's just something to think about,
- 19:35Speaker 1: pray about, whatever. Just is there a gal that, hmm,
- 19:40Speaker 1: she's a homeowner, she's 5'10, and she's just a friend,
- 19:43Speaker 1: but gee whiz, I wonder.
- 19:48Speaker 4: Well, I'll tell you this. Having Stephen Baldwin say, you
- 19:52Speaker 4: do you, homie, is the highlight.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Of my year. Yes.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Good luck, Jeff. My pleasure.
- 19:59Speaker 4: Thank you, buddy.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Good luck. Thank you, guys. Thank you.
- 20:03Speaker 3: Why do we do that to ourselves, right? Yeah, that's right.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. Because other things cause the things
- 20:11Speaker 2: that we do to ourselves.
- 20:12Speaker 1: But it's also the culture right now.
- 20:15Speaker 2: What is the culture?
- 20:16Speaker 1: Well, I just think L.A., you know, now. But all
- 20:21Speaker 1: of America now is an app. You know, everything is
- 20:24Speaker 1: on your phone and you're scrolling. And if you're not
- 20:27Speaker 1: satisfied in 20 seconds, it kind of changes your thinking.
- 20:31Speaker 5: It's a maximizer culture.
- 20:34Speaker 6: Not a, it's called like a satisficer where somebody meets
- 20:38Speaker 6: what you're looking for. The maximizer is always looking for
- 20:41Speaker 6: that person that's just a little closer to the fantasy.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Right. Or perfection. Exactly.
- 20:47Speaker 5: It's perfection.
- 20:48Speaker 2: We tried to get Ryan on dating apps and he
- 20:50Speaker 2: wouldn't do it.
- 20:51Speaker 3: I downloaded Bumble once. I didn't even sign up for it.
- 20:54Speaker 3: I just deleted it off my phone. I couldn't do it.
- 20:56Speaker 3: I wouldn't do it.
- 20:56Speaker 1: I can't do it. And you're single?
- 20:58Speaker 4: No.
- 20:58Speaker 1: You're married.
- 20:59Speaker 3: I'm not married. I'm in a relationship, but I didn't
- 21:01Speaker 3: meet on an app.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Okay.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Okay. I wouldn't do it. Dog park? Dog park, no.
- 21:07Speaker 3: No, that's not for me.
- 21:09Speaker 1: That's cool. Where'd you meet her?
- 21:12Speaker 3: That's a long story, actor Stephen Baldwin.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Yeah, but let's put the spotlight on you, homie. Just
- 21:19Speaker 1: for a second. How did I meet? Was it a Starbucks?
- 21:25Speaker 1: I met here.
- 21:25Speaker 3: We met here. There was a feature that was being
- 21:29Speaker 3: done on someone in her family and we've hit it off.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Oh, that's sweet though.
- 21:36Speaker 2: That's cool.
- 21:37Speaker 3: There's a lot to untangle there.
- 21:40Speaker 2: She was in a marriage at the time.
- 21:44Speaker 1: I'm not saying anything. But that's cool. It's okay. Okay.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:49Speaker 1: You're in love? Yes. Majorly. You go, homie.
- 21:53Speaker 2: And I'll bet this. Never been happier.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Don't screw it up. I'm not. All right.
- 21:59Speaker 4: I can't.
- 21:59Speaker 1: I won't.
- 22:00Speaker 3: I refuse to.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Amen. Oh, I'm sweating.
- 22:03Speaker 2: Are we going to be editing this out?
- 22:05Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 22:07Speaker 3: It's up to anyone else.
- 22:09Speaker 1: He's got a bunch of questions for everyone else.
- 22:11Speaker 5: Doesn't he? Are we done here?
- 22:18Speaker 2: Ask Stephen.
- 22:18Speaker 1: All right. Thank you, Stephen Baldwin. I'm good. Thank you.
- 22:21Speaker 1: That was the best part of the show.
