- 0:01Speaker 1: You can't spot that team that many goals and you
- 0:06Speaker 1: know I mean, well, we gotta wake up.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Welcome to Kracking this morning, a presentation of the Krack
- 0:17Speaker 2: and audio network Ken Sports Radio ninety three point three
- 0:20Speaker 2: kjr FM.
- 0:22Speaker 3: Here's Mike Beton.
- 0:23Speaker 4: Those words from crackenhead coach Lane Lambert, so the response
- 0:26Speaker 4: this evening will be extremely interesting. The crack intake on
- 0:31Speaker 4: the Vancouver Caducks and the final matchup of the regular
- 0:34Speaker 4: season as the Crack and try to end the league's
- 0:36Speaker 4: longest active losing skid four consecutive games. Your face off
- 0:40Speaker 4: tonight a little past seven o'clock Pacific time, Eretimes six thirty.
- 0:44Speaker 4: Your pregame show is served up by Frostbured Corps Light
- 0:47Speaker 4: Choose Chill and again your invite out to you come
- 0:50Speaker 4: and join us all night long and Tom's Watchbar right
- 0:53Speaker 4: across the street.
- 0:54Speaker 3: From Climate Pledge Arena.
- 0:56Speaker 4: Gonna be a great one going down here for this
- 0:58Speaker 4: evening as a Crack and looking to take three out
- 1:00Speaker 4: of four in the head to head series. Coming up,
- 1:02Speaker 4: we'll have Jeff Baker join us here, VP of editorial
- 1:06Speaker 4: for Seattlekraken dot Com. Also a look and reflections on
- 1:10Speaker 4: the previous homestand Mattiveniers's growth as a leader, the Bobby
- 1:14Speaker 4: McMahon situation, and much more as a crack and again
- 1:18Speaker 4: taking on their Pacific Northwest rivals just north of the border.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Again Jeff Baker joining us in just a bit, well,
- 1:25Speaker 3: you can.
- 1:26Speaker 4: Send frustration from the Crack and after dropping a five
- 1:28Speaker 4: to one loss to the Colorado Avalanche for the Crack
- 1:32Speaker 4: and they fell to two and four to complete the
- 1:34Speaker 4: six game homestand and they're trying to get out of
- 1:36Speaker 4: a tail spin right now since the Olympic break at.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Two and six.
- 1:40Speaker 4: A little more from head coach Lane Lambert and his
- 1:43Speaker 4: reaction following the game on Thursday Climate Pledge Arena, which
- 1:47Speaker 4: saw the Crack and Pull goaltender Joey decord for Philip
- 1:50Speaker 4: Grubauer in the final two periods. Ryker Evans Potty the
- 1:53Speaker 4: only Kraken goal scores short handed in period two. So
- 1:57Speaker 4: before Jeff Baker joins us, your said, coach, Lane, which.
- 2:01Speaker 5: Do you do you think it was a case of
- 2:02Speaker 5: showing them too much respect?
- 2:04Speaker 1: I do, yep I do. And my biggest issue with
- 2:09Speaker 1: the first period as the goals they scored are just
- 2:12Speaker 1: systematical breakdowns that. You know, we've played over sixty games
- 2:16Speaker 1: this year. We need to have poison composure. We're doing
- 2:22Speaker 1: things that are absolutely mind boggling to me. It's got
- 2:27Speaker 1: to stop.
- 2:31Speaker 6: Coach, you said we need to wake up. I mean,
- 2:32Speaker 6: what what do you think it takes at this point
- 2:34Speaker 6: to like they're in a playoff race? I mean, how
- 2:37Speaker 6: is it possible that they're not ready to go?
- 2:40Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, it's a great question, you know, and like I,
- 2:48Speaker 1: like I said, probably showing them too much respect. I
- 2:51Speaker 1: don't necessarily know that it was a thing where og
- 2:53Speaker 1: we're not completely ready to go showing them too much respect.
- 2:58Speaker 1: But you know, they start rolling around in our zone.
- 3:00Speaker 1: We have a system in a structure, and we just
- 3:02Speaker 1: completely throw it in the throw it down the drain,
- 3:05Speaker 1: and they're just making plays. It's ridiculous.
- 3:10Speaker 6: You went back to Joey tonight and then shorter leash.
- 3:13Speaker 6: I guess in terms of getting him out of there,
- 3:16Speaker 6: what went into.
- 3:17Speaker 3: The decision process?
- 3:17Speaker 1: And well, Joey, let's be clear, Joey, Joey played well
- 3:22Speaker 1: last game. This was not any reflection on Joey tonight.
- 3:29Speaker 1: You know, so our team needed a wake up call. Uh,
- 3:32Speaker 1: you know, so we put Grooby in, and we put
- 3:34Speaker 1: him in a tough spot. You know, we were shorthanded.
- 3:37Speaker 1: When Grooby came in. I thought he did a good job.
- 3:39Speaker 1: We did a poor job tonight, a clear in the
- 3:41Speaker 1: front of the net. They went to the net harder
- 3:44Speaker 1: than we did. And things have changed. So if we're
- 3:51Speaker 1: if we're planning on making the playoffs.
- 3:55Speaker 7: Coach, how much do you feel like the last four
- 3:57Speaker 7: minutes was you guys playing tangibly better as opposed to
- 3:59Speaker 7: this more effects of them being up three and maybe
- 4:01Speaker 7: coasting a little bit more at that point with the lead,
- 4:03Speaker 7: or how do you kind of weigh that that stretch
- 4:06Speaker 7: of play for them?
- 4:07Speaker 1: Well, I think that that's uh, you know, it's a
- 4:10Speaker 1: good observation. They're they're up in the game and you
- 4:14Speaker 1: know they're just playing I guess what you would call safe.
- 4:18Speaker 1: So you know, they weren't pushing.
- 4:21Speaker 3: With the structure of breakdowns.
- 4:23Speaker 7: You mentioned that's something we haven't seen much from your
- 4:26Speaker 7: guys most of the season here. Why do you think
- 4:29Speaker 7: coming out of the Olympic break here that has been
- 4:31Speaker 7: something that's seemingly not been there as a collective compared
- 4:34Speaker 7: to where it's been for a large stretch of the season.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Again, I think it's a matter of guys. They're either
- 4:42Speaker 1: a trying to do too much, which puts them in
- 4:44Speaker 1: the wrong position. And I'd like to think that oftentimes
- 4:48Speaker 1: that's the way it's been here since since we came
- 4:50Speaker 1: back from the break. Is there's there's you know, a
- 4:53Speaker 1: little bit of a over urgency. The second part of
- 4:56Speaker 1: it is, uh, you know when we when we don't
- 4:58Speaker 1: get the puck stopped and we spend time on our zone,
- 5:01Speaker 1: you know, you have fatigue and you break down.
- 5:07Speaker 7: Coach, where would you where would you rank the team's
- 5:11Speaker 7: confidence and swag meter? Where would you rank that in
- 5:14Speaker 7: their play right now?
- 5:16Speaker 2: Low?
- 5:18Speaker 3: How do you how do you charge that up?
- 5:20Speaker 1: Well, you got to do the right things. You got
- 5:21Speaker 1: to play the game in the right way. You got
- 5:23Speaker 1: to stop making mistakes that are avoidable, and certainly you
- 5:28Speaker 1: have to correct them. You know, the only way to
- 5:30Speaker 1: get out of a funk like this is to to
- 5:34Speaker 1: do the right things. And you know, as it stands
- 5:38Speaker 1: right now, we're making too many mistakes. So you know,
- 5:41Speaker 1: we have an opportunity here on Saturday night, another big game.
- 5:46Speaker 1: You know, I sound like a broken record, but we
- 5:48Speaker 1: have to move forward and we have to be.
- 5:50Speaker 4: Better, all right, crack and hoping that better days are
- 5:52Speaker 4: right ahead here because they can certainly use them. And
- 5:54Speaker 4: not much time is left now with eighteen games to
- 5:57Speaker 4: play as a take on the Vancouver Caducks.
- 5:58Speaker 3: Here for this evening on the road.
- 6:01Speaker 4: Here with the team is Jeff Baker, VP of editorial
- 6:04Speaker 4: for seattlecracking dot com, joining us now on Cracking this morning. Hi, Jeff,
- 6:09Speaker 4: and I would ask you rank that pressor from Thursday
- 6:13Speaker 4: with Lane Lambert just from an emotional perspective.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Are we talking about top three all time? Oh?
- 6:20Speaker 5: I think it's definitely top three. I was thinking it's
- 6:22Speaker 5: top two. It's right up there with one that he
- 6:25Speaker 5: gave where he said it was some kind of a
- 6:28Speaker 5: mystery or at the Five's logic, the team five logic. Yeah,
- 6:31Speaker 5: that was a while ago. So this is uh, yeah,
- 6:34Speaker 5: this was pretty entertaining. You know, you don't like to
- 6:37Speaker 5: see it because obviously the source of the entertainment is
- 6:40Speaker 5: not anything that anybody wanted to see on uh on Friday,
- 6:44Speaker 5: on sorry, Thursday night. But yeah, yeah, he definitely showed
- 6:49Speaker 5: some emotion and uh, you know, at this point you
- 6:53Speaker 5: would have to think that somebody in the locker room
- 6:56Speaker 5: is going to listen to him, and uh, you know,
- 7:00Speaker 5: if not, then they have to start asking some questions because,
- 7:03Speaker 5: you know what, the show wasn't really acceptable.
- 7:05Speaker 4: I think the most concerning thing for me, Jeff, from
- 7:07Speaker 4: this recent stretch of games was not maybe the fact
- 7:11Speaker 4: you lost to the Avalanche, but you put yourself in
- 7:14Speaker 4: a position to have to play the perfect game after
- 7:17Speaker 4: dropping really three winnable games against Saint Louis, Ottawa, Nashville,
- 7:22Speaker 4: and that's six valuable, precious premium worth their weight in
- 7:28Speaker 4: gold points off the table before we get to the
- 7:32Speaker 4: Colorado game. And then that first period happens on Thursday night.
- 7:37Speaker 4: So how do you best summarize the gravity of that
- 7:40Speaker 4: kind of homestand and what's needed headed into a big
- 7:44Speaker 4: stretch you're beginning tonight against Vancouver.
- 7:47Speaker 5: Well, I mean you can't, Sugar Cody. I talked to
- 7:50Speaker 5: Brandon Mounts, who are coming off the road trip when
- 7:52Speaker 5: they lost the games to Dallas and Saint Louis, and
- 7:55Speaker 5: he told me after the Saint Louis game that you know,
- 7:57Speaker 5: it's getting to be must win time, you know, a
- 8:00Speaker 5: huge home stand coming up, And he was right. They
- 8:02Speaker 5: had six games. I mean, they still have two games
- 8:04Speaker 5: left sort of on the home stand, plus the game
- 8:06Speaker 5: here in Vancouver, it's going to be like a home
- 8:08Speaker 5: game almost. There should be a lot of cracking fans
- 8:10Speaker 5: in the building on Saturday night. So, I mean, you know,
- 8:13Speaker 5: you know, this is where they had to make a move,
- 8:16Speaker 5: and you know they haven't made a move up to
- 8:18Speaker 5: this point. What's keeping them, you know, their hopes up
- 8:21Speaker 5: is that the rest of the division really hasn't made
- 8:24Speaker 5: much of a move either. There's a lot of teams
- 8:26Speaker 5: that are pulling up close to them, but nobody's run
- 8:28Speaker 5: away with the playoff spot. They started to day only
- 8:31Speaker 5: one point out of a playoff spot. So you know,
- 8:34Speaker 5: if you forget about the past and you take it
- 8:36Speaker 5: from here, you know a lot can happen. It's an
- 8:39Speaker 5: eighteen game sprint to the finish. Is it going to
- 8:41Speaker 5: be disappointing? You know it definitely If they don't make
- 8:44Speaker 5: the playoffs, We're going to look back at the two
- 8:46Speaker 5: Saint Louis games for sure, and you know, you're right,
- 8:49Speaker 5: they painted themselves in a corner where last night was.
- 8:52Speaker 5: You know, they pretty much had to you know, if
- 8:55Speaker 5: you wanted to end with any kind of momentum on
- 8:57Speaker 5: their home stand yet to do something. And you know,
- 8:59Speaker 5: I asked the question of Lane Lambert after the after
- 9:02Speaker 5: the game, I said, they show them too much respect,
- 9:04Speaker 5: and absolutely they did. They they he agreed. I mean,
- 9:07Speaker 5: they they basically just stood around watching them, you know,
- 9:10Speaker 5: past past the buck around, make them run around in circles.
- 9:13Speaker 5: In the first period, they weren't they weren't doing what
- 9:15Speaker 5: they're supposed to be doing, the cracking and uh yeah,
- 9:18Speaker 5: you know, I think they were a little bit in
- 9:19Speaker 5: awe of the Avalanche, which which surprised me watching that
- 9:23Speaker 5: game because you know, they played them really well, as
- 9:25Speaker 5: you know the first time they played them at Climate
- 9:27Speaker 5: Plat Arena and this season and you know, they just
- 9:30Speaker 5: beat Carolina which was you know, was a pretty good
- 9:33Speaker 5: hockey team not too long ago. That that game that
- 9:37Speaker 5: we saw last night that wasn't crack and hockey, and
- 9:39Speaker 5: you saw in the second and third period what what
- 9:41Speaker 5: it looks like when they play. I mean, they got
- 9:43Speaker 5: outscored two to one, but they outplayed the Avalanche the
- 9:45Speaker 5: last two periods and you know, you could see the
- 9:48Speaker 5: Avalanche sat back a little bit and played defense and
- 9:51Speaker 5: you know, didn't really need to push the pace, which
- 9:53Speaker 5: is true, but the crack and it was noticeable how
- 9:57Speaker 5: different they look after that first period.
- 10:00Speaker 4: I want to put the spotlight here, Jeff on leadership
- 10:03Speaker 4: and a different component and I think maybe more of
- 10:07Speaker 4: what they are looking for out of the lane Lambert
- 10:09Speaker 4: regime right now. And this goes back to two games
- 10:11Speaker 4: ago against the Nashville Predators. Back in period three, Jared
- 10:16Speaker 4: mccannon was sit into the numbers by Justin Baron. Matty
- 10:20Speaker 4: Baneers wastes absolutely zero time going in and then responding
- 10:25Speaker 4: by dropping the midst here with Baron. And this is
- 10:29Speaker 4: a player who predominantly for his entire career so far
- 10:33Speaker 4: has played the position of one C on the depth chart,
- 10:37Speaker 4: and here he is dropping the gloves. You're not asking
- 10:39Speaker 4: Benirs to fight, but in that kind of context, he's
- 10:44Speaker 4: willing to go to extreme lines here to send a
- 10:48Speaker 4: message and defend his teammate, his linemate who is hit
- 10:51Speaker 4: right into the numbers. What'd you make out of that
- 10:53Speaker 4: fight and benears involved in it?
- 10:56Speaker 5: Well, I mean, yeah, no choice, he has to do
- 10:58Speaker 5: that in that situation. I don't care if you're Maddy
- 11:00Speaker 5: Beniers or your Jacob Melanson or whoever. I mean, Vince done.
- 11:05Speaker 5: Somebody's got to do it. You know, you look at
- 11:07Speaker 5: what happens with Toronto last night the other night when
- 11:11Speaker 5: they played, when they played Anaheim and Austin Matthews got
- 11:14Speaker 5: that drilled by Rako Good, but he was nobody came,
- 11:20Speaker 5: Nobody came, nobody stood up for him, Nobody came and
- 11:22Speaker 5: did anything. And there was apologies flowing in Toronto after
- 11:26Speaker 5: that game. You know, they know, they're hockey there and
- 11:28Speaker 5: everybody was upset and and you know, and they all
- 11:32Speaker 5: knew that they messed up the leaps to a man,
- 11:34Speaker 5: knew they messed up their coach, Craig Barruby knew he
- 11:37Speaker 5: was beside himself, Like can you imagine Craig Barruby doing
- 11:39Speaker 5: that when he was a player. I mean, they bad
- 11:42Speaker 5: could do this, be running for his life. And so
- 11:44Speaker 5: you know, good on Matti Baniirs for doing it. Jared
- 11:47Speaker 5: McCann's been pushed around too much. And I don't mean
- 11:51Speaker 5: pushed around. He can handle himself. But you know, the
- 11:54Speaker 5: chief shots he's taken since he came to the crack
- 11:56Speaker 5: and it's unbelievable. I mean, you know, never mind that
- 11:59Speaker 5: Cale mccarr hit in the playoffs. You go back a
- 12:01Speaker 5: year before that in Los Angeles, it was Quintin Byfield
- 12:04Speaker 5: to hit him. You know, they threw him into the
- 12:07Speaker 5: boards dangerously and and you know, could have really injured McCann.
- 12:10Speaker 5: He was the team's best scorer. And all four players
- 12:14Speaker 5: just stood around looking at each other, wondering what they
- 12:15Speaker 5: were going to do. And I asked Dave Hextall after
- 12:17Speaker 5: that game, would you have liked to see a better response?
- 12:21Speaker 5: And he said, what do you think? Absolutely? And uh
- 12:24Speaker 5: and after that every game after that, anybody even breathed
- 12:27Speaker 5: on a cracking goalie, you know, everybody was diving in
- 12:30Speaker 5: and gang piling on top of them because they got
- 12:33Speaker 5: the message. And so you know, it was nice to
- 12:35Speaker 5: see it happened from Matty Benier's would Yeah, you know,
- 12:40Speaker 5: it's it's I don't like to tell guys that they
- 12:42Speaker 5: should fight on the ice because it's not me doing it.
- 12:45Speaker 5: It's easier to sit up in the stands and say, oh,
- 12:46Speaker 5: he's got guys got to drop the clouts. But I
- 12:48Speaker 5: mean that's part of the game. And uh, you know
- 12:51Speaker 5: when it's when it's your best player like that, and
- 12:53Speaker 5: and you know, Everley's leading the team in scoring. But
- 12:56Speaker 5: but Jared McCann is your best goal scorer per rate,
- 12:58Speaker 5: per games played, I mean, and per lifetime with the crack,
- 13:01Speaker 5: and I mean, you just can't have him taking those
- 13:03Speaker 5: shots and do nothing about it, especially when it's right
- 13:05Speaker 5: in front of Mattie Venner's and so he did what
- 13:07Speaker 5: he had to do. Good on him. That's why he's
- 13:09Speaker 5: got the A on his sweater, and you know that's
- 13:12Speaker 5: the kind of stuff they'll look at going forward. Now.
- 13:14Speaker 5: I don't say that Maddy Beneer should be fighting every game.
- 13:18Speaker 5: I'd prefer not to see him ever drop his gloves again.
- 13:20Speaker 5: But you know, he didn't embarrass himself and he did
- 13:22Speaker 5: what he had to do, so good for him.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Jeff Baker joining us right now on Cracking this morning.
- 13:27Speaker 4: Jeff, I know that we're just kind of sitting here
- 13:30Speaker 4: on pins and needles waiting for Bobby McMahon to finally
- 13:33Speaker 4: show up in a real game issued seventy four jersey.
- 13:37Speaker 3: He can practice.
- 13:38Speaker 4: But at this point, past seven days of the trade deadline,
- 13:42Speaker 4: what's your best faad right now on this situation?
- 13:46Speaker 5: Well, I mean, you look what's happening in this country
- 13:48Speaker 5: with with you know, the political situation and the government,
- 13:51Speaker 5: you know, congressional shutdown, lack of funding for TSA, for
- 13:56Speaker 5: departmental home run and security agencies. I'm sure that's not
- 13:59Speaker 5: helping this situation. I'm not involved directly in it, but
- 14:03Speaker 5: you know, you don't see the situation happen all that often.
- 14:06Speaker 5: We've seen it happen before with a player like Daniel Sprong,
- 14:11Speaker 5: you know, who had an interesting situation where he was
- 14:13Speaker 5: born in the Netherlands, raised in Canada, but not a
- 14:15Speaker 5: citizen of Canada or the United States. So I mean,
- 14:18Speaker 5: that's where it starts to get tricky. And here, you know,
- 14:21Speaker 5: I'm sure you know, I'm sure there's there's government agencies
- 14:24Speaker 5: and offices that are just shorthanded that would be handling
- 14:27Speaker 5: this kind of thing. And I don't know, I don't
- 14:29Speaker 5: know the finer details of what the hold up is
- 14:32Speaker 5: and why it might differ from in other cities, but
- 14:35Speaker 5: I'm sure that's playing a part in it. And so
- 14:38Speaker 5: you know that this is this is one of the
- 14:40Speaker 5: difficulties people don't hear about behind the scenes in professionals
- 14:43Speaker 5: scor and unfortunately, when you when you have a league,
- 14:46Speaker 5: a sports league that involves players from multiple countries. This
- 14:49Speaker 5: is the kind of situation that can come up. You know,
- 14:53Speaker 5: I hope you know. Jason Botterill made this trade obviously
- 14:56Speaker 5: hoping to get McMahon in there to help with stretch drive.
- 15:00Speaker 5: And I'm sure he he's counting down the calendar because
- 15:03Speaker 5: he wants to get him in there for these games.
- 15:05Speaker 4: Cracking two zero to one against Vancouver, this will be
- 15:08Speaker 4: the final matchup of the regular season coming up here.
- 15:10Speaker 4: The Crack and last beat the Canucks five one. So,
- 15:13Speaker 4: I mean, conventional wisdom says if the Krack can play
- 15:16Speaker 4: their game, they should have no problem with this matchup here.
- 15:20Speaker 4: Yet the dynamic of this is that we're past the
- 15:22Speaker 4: trade deadline now, and funny enough, not a lot of
- 15:26Speaker 4: big names were on the move, and that includes LEAs Petterson,
- 15:29Speaker 4: though the Canucks did move off Connor Garland, Tyler Myers, etc.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Off their roster. Yet there's a bit of a different
- 15:36Speaker 3: feel according to.
- 15:37Speaker 4: Head coach Adam foot and where his team has their
- 15:41Speaker 4: vision moving ahead pass this trade deadline period and the
- 15:45Speaker 4: Canucks all of a sudden got their second win in
- 15:49Speaker 4: just ten games, beating Nashville the previous night after a
- 15:53Speaker 4: third period, comeback then eventually won in a shootout. Here
- 15:57Speaker 4: so what are you keeping on here for the krakend
- 15:59Speaker 4: tonight this final matchup.
- 16:01Speaker 5: Well, you hit it on the head. They have to
- 16:03Speaker 5: play their game and they have to avoid looking at
- 16:05Speaker 5: the record or the team they're playing against. That doesn't matter.
- 16:07Speaker 5: You throw that out the window. The Saint Louis Blues
- 16:10Speaker 5: had I think the second worst record in the NHL.
- 16:12Speaker 5: They beat the Crack in twice and now you know,
- 16:13Speaker 5: the Crack and created a monster because the Blues are
- 16:15Speaker 5: beating a whole bunch of other teams. There's a lot
- 16:18Speaker 5: of parody in the league this year, and just because
- 16:20Speaker 5: one team, you know, might not all that great on
- 16:22Speaker 5: paper and in the standings. The difference between the best
- 16:28Speaker 5: teams in this league and the worst teams in this
- 16:30Speaker 5: league is minute. And so if the Crack can show
- 16:35Speaker 5: up and play for forty eight minutes, you know they
- 16:37Speaker 5: could lose the game. You know they can't. They got
- 16:39Speaker 5: to go out there and play. And it's a cliche
- 16:42Speaker 5: play like it's Game seven of the Stanley Cup Final.
- 16:44Speaker 5: Go you need to win this game. So you got
- 16:46Speaker 5: to go out there and play, and it doesn't matter
- 16:48Speaker 5: if it goes to overtime, and you win in overtime,
- 16:50Speaker 5: that's two points. You don't have to worry about giving
- 16:52Speaker 5: the Canucks a point. You need the two points. And
- 16:55Speaker 5: that's what they got to do. And they got to
- 16:56Speaker 5: focus on winning the game, not winning it five to
- 16:59Speaker 5: one or ten to not to They just got to
- 17:00Speaker 5: win the game, buy a goal, whatever it takes, and
- 17:03Speaker 5: that's what they got to do from here on in.
- 17:05Speaker 5: I mean, Jordan never really said as much. The other
- 17:07Speaker 5: night after they lost that game to Colorado, he said,
- 17:11Speaker 5: you know, the whole cliche one game at a time.
- 17:13Speaker 5: Chandler Stevenson said it as well, but it really is
- 17:16Speaker 5: one game at a time. You really do. Just have
- 17:17Speaker 5: to forget what just happened and start putting wins together
- 17:22Speaker 5: or because if you don't, you start looking too far ahead,
- 17:25Speaker 5: your season is going to be over before you know,
- 17:28Speaker 5: you know, before the month turns into April. So you
- 17:30Speaker 5: have to you have to start putting some wins together here,
- 17:33Speaker 5: and they got to play their game. They got to
- 17:34Speaker 5: play their systems. They can't be running around letting guys
- 17:37Speaker 5: backdoor them like they were doing in the first period
- 17:40Speaker 5: against Colorado. I mean, you know, the same backdoor play
- 17:42Speaker 5: led to the first two goals. You know, guy streaks
- 17:44Speaker 5: down the right side, he's wide open. Guy finds them
- 17:48Speaker 5: sneaking in behind the goal and he throws it out
- 17:49Speaker 5: front and the puck go One time it was tapped
- 17:51Speaker 5: into that. The other time it went in off of
- 17:53Speaker 5: a defender skate. But I mean, you know, you can't.
- 17:56Speaker 5: You can't allow them to keep running it. It looked
- 17:58Speaker 5: like a practice drill. So you got to You got
- 18:01Speaker 5: to know your systems. You got to know who's got what,
- 18:04Speaker 5: who's taking which man, what you do in this situation.
- 18:06Speaker 5: You got to focus. You can't go out there and
- 18:08Speaker 5: stand around and be a passenger. They've got to come
- 18:10Speaker 5: out focused in this game from from from minute one.
- 18:14Speaker 5: And you know, I'd be shocked if they don't, given
- 18:17Speaker 5: everything that's been said, you know, the last week at
- 18:20Speaker 5: the time, honestly, the time for words is over. Now
- 18:22Speaker 5: they got to go out and do it.
- 18:24Speaker 4: It's going to be quite the warm up back here
- 18:25Speaker 4: for the road because after this two at home and
- 18:28Speaker 4: then six on the road once again, taking them all
- 18:32Speaker 4: the way through the East Coast where they will see
- 18:34Speaker 4: Tampa Bay, the Florida Panthers again, etc. Jeff A appreciate this,
- 18:37Speaker 4: looking forward here to more words thoughts and inside here
- 18:40Speaker 4: for Vancouver.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Appreciate you. We'll talk to you soon again. All right, Mike,
- 18:44Speaker 3: thanks all right, Jeff, thank you for joining us here.
- 18:46Speaker 4: If there's any team the Crack can have dound recent
- 18:48Speaker 4: success against that can help them get back on the tracks,
- 18:51Speaker 4: it is this matchup against the Canucks, because the mass
- 18:54Speaker 4: says so. The Kraken swept in the head to head
- 18:56Speaker 4: series in their expansion season back in twenty twenty one
- 19:00Speaker 4: twenty two. Ever since then it is lopsided in favor
- 19:04Speaker 4: of the Krack at nine to two and three their records.
- 19:08Speaker 4: Since the beginning of the twenty twenty two and twenty
- 19:11Speaker 4: three season, they have claimed at least a point in
- 19:14Speaker 4: a straight games against the Canucks, the longest active streak
- 19:18Speaker 4: against any opponent here on the Kraken side in just
- 19:21Speaker 4: two games. Shy of any team that they have earned
- 19:25Speaker 4: such streak against, that is Anaheim's spanning from twenty twenty
- 19:29Speaker 4: two into twenty twenty four. The Canucks, for all their
- 19:33Speaker 4: struggles and all the names out the door and maybe
- 19:35Speaker 4: more questions as well, still finding a way to pull
- 19:38Speaker 4: out a win in their previous game against Nashville in
- 19:40Speaker 4: a shootout that ending a six game winless skin in
- 19:45Speaker 4: regulation at home. Previous win came before January thirty first.
- 19:50Speaker 4: Vancouver also yet struggling to score on home ice just
- 19:54Speaker 4: two point four goals per game. Only the Rangers have
- 19:57Speaker 4: a lower total at two point two. Look forward to
- 20:00Speaker 4: having you joined us once again six point thirty airtime
- 20:03Speaker 4: puck dropping at seven o'clock at Rogers Arena. Watch party
- 20:07Speaker 4: going on at Tom's Watch Bar right across the street.
- 20:09Speaker 3: From Climate Pledge Arena.
- 20:11Speaker 4: Certainly hope that you can join us here. Big thank
- 20:13Speaker 4: you to Jeff Baker for hanging out with us. San
- 20:15Speaker 4: for Kraking this morning by Mike Benton. Enjoy the game,
