- 3:00tonight? I'm great, I'm excited. I'm excited to have you here.
- 3:05Listen. Um, I got your book and it is entitled let Me tell
- 3:10it by Miss Joyce Frasier. Yes, and your book is it is amazing.
- 3:20So let me ask you. Can you share? Can you share your
- 3:24story? The story behind why you had to write this book? Yeah,
- 3:30the reason why I had to write this book and call it my story.
- 3:34Let me tell it because what happened to me June to six or twenty nineteen.
- 3:38I wasn't able to talk to nobody, not even the news report or
- 3:43nothing. I went through. I mean I really went through. I went
- 3:46through so bad that I didn't I didn't think I was gonna make it.
- 3:51Really, I didn't want to make it. To be honest with you,
- 3:53okay, Um, I would like to go a little deeper and find out,
- 4:00you know, what happened on that particular date that morning when I got
- 4:06off. Let me take you back to Second Ship. When I got off
- 4:09Second Sheriff, I had taught my son twice to mental health. So that
- 4:15particular day when I got off from Second Ship, I told my husband,
- 4:17I said, look, I'm gonna take him to the hospital to Spumber Regional
- 4:21tonight and put him in the mental part because he really needed his medicine.
- 4:26So when we got off, we rolled all over to my old neighborhood labory
- 4:30minor handicamp ground. Everybody kept saying they saw Drico here. I ain't gonn
- 4:34want to call his day. They saw him over here, everywhere they told
- 4:38us they saw him. We went there looking for him. Wasn't no sign
- 4:42of him. I don't know if the enemy just had him like dodging me
- 4:45or whatever. But that particular night he came in around five something in the
- 4:49morning. Me and my husband had went to bed, and he heard a
- 4:53knock at the garage dough because he didn't have a key to the house.
- 4:57He just had the thing to let the garage up to come into the back
- 5:00door and then we let him in. So my husband got about the bed
- 5:03to go let it entreco in. So he let him in. He said,
- 5:06he said, what's up, pop? And he went on upstairs.
- 5:10My husband came back into the bedroom and closed the door and I said,
- 5:14baby, what did he say? He said, he said, what's up,
- 5:15pop? And he went on upstairs. Okay, Um, before we
- 5:21dig any deeper about it, um, let me ask you about you and
- 5:30your husband. How did you guys meet and you know, get to where
- 5:38we had to write a book. How can you share that story? Yes,
- 5:42Um, I set up under his leadership in ten. He or dying
- 5:46me as an evangelist in the ministry in twenty ten in shot of North Carolina.
- 5:50So I hadn't seen him in probably five six seven years. To me
- 5:55and one of my passive friend went to a comfort and or comfort up and
- 5:59shot of nor Calinapostle John Ecort was there. So when I walked up to
- 6:03him to talk to him, he didn't remember me because I had picked up
- 6:06weight and gain weight and everything. Right, So my friend girl was still
- 6:12keeping in touch with him and stuff. So they had talked on the phone
- 6:15and he said, where is Evangel Glenn at She said, that was Evangel
- 6:19Glenn that was with me. He said, oh, my God, call
- 6:23her and tell her to call me. I need to talk to her.
- 6:26So when I talked to him on the phone, I called him and I
- 6:29said, hey, my friend girl. You know she was wondering, did
- 6:31you want to go out sometime? He said no, right now, I'm
- 6:35not looking for nobody because he had just went through a divorce his self,
- 6:39right, So as time went by, he stepped he kept calling me and
- 6:44stuff. He invited me to dinner. So I drove the Charlotte. We
- 6:46went to the dinner. We went to dinner, we went to the movie,
- 6:50we wentn't walking and we just started talking on the phone on my lunch
- 6:56break and he said that he desired to be married again. I said already
- 7:00he said yeah. He said, but the Lord told me you my wife,
- 7:04and for me not to look no more. I said, what your
- 7:08wife? He said, yeah, he said, go pray about it.
- 7:12So you know, as a woman like me, I'm driving back from Charlotte'm
- 7:15just a granting all happen. I've laid across my bed talking to the Lord.
- 7:18I said, well, Lord, I tell you what if he my
- 7:21husband, let me take care of the man of God. That's all I
- 7:25said to God. Yes, over the night, God gave me my answer
- 7:28that that was my husband. Okay, So when I called him back,
- 7:32I set his engage, his hand of marriage. Okay. How long after
- 7:39the engagement was it before you actually got to the wedding date? Child,
- 7:45We probably day a couple, a couple of weeks with them, about two
- 7:48months. Un my knees then and my two of my knees. They had
- 7:53put that wedding together. Honey, Okay. We got married on May the
- 7:57seven. Okay, you were speaking about your son and um having mental health
- 8:05issues. Is that something that he's dealt with his entire life ever since he
- 8:11was aged seven? They diagnosed at the age of seven. Okay. Is
- 8:16there anything in particular that you know he was doing to cause them to diagnose
- 8:24him like that? Oh? He would show out in class, gets so
- 8:28upset, flipped the chairs over. The school has sent him to a psychota.
- 8:33They had started him on Ridlin, being back in them days he was
- 8:37taking Ritlin as a little bar. Okay, okay, um. And again
- 8:43reading your story, Um, such a powerful story, and I would like
- 8:50to get back to that and ask you, um, you know how how
- 8:54it came to be that your son was in your home? How you know
- 8:58how all this transpired. He had been gone for three years at a state
- 9:05mental hospital, and he wasn't even here when we got married. But he
- 9:09would talk to my husband over the phone and say, pop, let me
- 9:13let me wrap for because he used to love a rap so my husband used
- 9:16to be on the phone listening to him wrapping everything. So he hadn't even
- 9:20been home with us for three months before he did what he did okay,
- 9:24and we was doing. We did what the judge told us. When he
- 9:26got out that morning was me, my sister passed a Glenn, and my
- 9:30husband. We had to go down to Anderson to the feather of judge I
- 9:33mean feat Judge Dre and Anderson right to pick him up. And the judge
- 9:37said, first thing tomorrow, take him to go and tell mental health.
- 9:41He only had two weeks left on that shot. We did just what the
- 9:46judge told us to do. That next morning we had him down at the
- 9:48mental health insponbered and they said it don't work like this. We got to
- 9:54have all his paperwork. My husband me was there with Draco. I said,
- 9:58so y'all have and give them nothing. They said no, ma'am.
- 10:01I said, well, this is what the judge told me to do.
- 10:03They said no, man, we came, so they made him appointment to
- 10:07come back within thirty days. My husband didn't go. The second time,
- 10:09just me and and Drico went and this time we saw a white man and
- 10:13he said, I remember a steward. I said, okay, can you
- 10:16get stewards something he already been on. He said no, we gotta wait
- 10:20on his paperwork. Okay, he gave him another appointment. His next appointment
- 10:28was June to twenty four. He did what he did on June to six
- 10:31or twenty nineteen. Okay, So knowing you know what was going on with
- 10:41him, did he show signs that he really needed to get this injection?
- 10:48Was he acting out? What? Wo? Wow? Was it so urgent
- 10:54that he needed it right then? Why? Because he needed his mother?
- 11:00Because see, I swing shift for Michelin Tire Company. So if I wasn't
- 11:05on swinging shift and saw him every day, I would have known, hey,
- 11:09he needed right now. But he will call me on the phone,
- 11:11hey baby, at work on my brain, Hey baby, And he made
- 11:15me think everything was fine. You know what I'm saying, right, But
- 11:18I knew he needed his medicine because remember the judge told me he had but
- 11:22two weeks left on that shot. You know, you gotta think we don't
- 11:26miss two point mens that had him down and he couldn't get his medicine.
- 11:30So so then those guys people in the three star giving him weed drinking then
- 11:37you know, yeah, that don't go with the medicine. It does not.
- 11:41M Going back to your book, can we talk about what led up
- 11:46to the incident and then we'll if you're comfortable speaking about what happened, we'll
- 11:54go into it. But what led up to it, I don't think I
- 11:58can say that because he didn't have his medicine. That was a sickness,
- 12:01you know what I'm saying. Because when my husband said he led him in,
- 12:05he said what's up, hop and went on upstairs. Didn't know he
- 12:09had had a young lady with him. Okay, and that's what nobody know.
- 12:16But that was a young lady there with him upstair, a young lady
- 12:18that he that told him she was having his baby, and come to find
- 12:22out she wasn't even pregnant. Oh wow, wow, that's a lot.
- 12:31Um. So once he got upstairs, um, what took place from from
- 12:39that point where he wanted to sleep? And I guess around eight o'clock.
- 12:45I think it's when I eight o'clock, my sister called me on the phone
- 12:46and said Elaine. Elaine is my middle name. She said, drinko,
- 12:50don stole my nephew work band head an air work band, right, So
- 12:56I said, Joane's not out here in my yard. She said, look
- 13:00out the one I then said, I said, let me go the stairs.
- 13:03So I went up that, I said, drinko. He said,
- 13:05hum. I said, then you still glad he didn't as work band.
- 13:09He said why. I said, because they got you on camera. They
- 13:13know you the one stole it. And he said, if he don't have
- 13:16his band back by the time he gets here from murther b you're going to
- 13:20jail. He said, okay. I said, no, this is what
- 13:22we're gonna do. You're gonna get that vand we're gonna take in partet in
- 13:26my sister yard. Then I'm gonna take you on to the hospital to mental
- 13:31health. At the hospital, he said, okay, mama, But you
- 13:35know what, I should have known something, because that was a certain voice
- 13:39that he don't normally say, like okay, mama, like you know what.
- 13:43You know what I'm saying, I can't describe. But when I think
- 13:46about it, yea, it still didn't hit me. So I went downstairs
- 13:50in the bear, I masked the bear room where my husband was at in
- 13:52bear, I said, baby, get up. I said, We're gonna
- 13:54take the band back to my sister how and I'm gonna take in Drico to
- 13:58the hospital. He said, Babe, I'll tell you what he said.
- 14:01It ain't gonna want me there? Then what's the words that came out of
- 14:05my husband mouth? It ain't gonna want me there, he said, dropped
- 14:09me off at Crispy Kreme. Donu. Well, I could finish writing my
- 14:13new book and just come back and pick me up. So my husband got
- 14:18up. He went into the shower bathroom, a massive bedroom bathroom, and
- 14:22he was getting ready to shaving stuff. And I had the bedroom door close.
- 14:26So when Draco come in, can I go on into the story now?
- 14:31Yes? Okay? So when he came in, he pushed the door
- 14:35open. I was looking at him, like, boy, what's wrong with
- 14:37you? What's wrong with you? His eyes were so big, like they
- 14:41were about to pop out of his head, and it was like it was
- 14:45like just looking around the bedroom real fast, right, So he looked at
- 14:48the master bedroom bathroom door and saw it was cracked, so he charged over
- 14:54that to it. By time he pushed it open, he must have had
- 14:58the gun down in the front of him his pants, and he just went
- 15:01to shoot. And he came out out the bathroom and I was standing there.
- 15:07It's like I couldn't move or nothing. When he put the gun to
- 15:11my head, I was saying why drink Oh, why, And my husband
- 15:15came back to the bathroom dough and it saw him and heard me hollering to
- 15:20get the chenchion back on him. So when Drinko went back charging at him,
- 15:24you know how, you got a massive bathroom. They got the hiss
- 15:28and her saying the toe, and the stand up shower and then the camode
- 15:31that was the bathroom door. Close to the camode. My husband ran in
- 15:37now and he was holding the dough. He couldn't push the door open,
- 15:41so he shot. He shot through the door like that. And so when
- 15:46he came out that time, I just shot through the door or the bathroom
- 15:48where the camode was at. He just ran on out the house and I
- 15:52ran in there to check on Simeuel. And Simeon was like coming out the
- 15:58bathroom but was still holding on, like kind of crawling and trying to stand
- 16:02up. And I was like, baby, baby, and I was calling
- 16:03nine one one. I was like, baby, please don't leave me.
- 16:07Whatever you do, please don't leave me. And the only thing he would
- 16:08say out of his mind baby, I love you, Baby, I love
- 16:12you. And I was just back to him telling him, please don't leave
- 16:17me. Simmy. So I had now want to said, please Harry y'all
- 16:19and the lady was trying to ask me. I said, please start asking
- 16:22me all these questions and get somebody here to help my husband and I answer
- 16:26whatever y'all need to answer, whatever question you need to me to answer.
- 16:30But do you know how they want to ask you all the suspects still in
- 16:33the house. I said, it was my son. He then ran out
- 16:37the house. It was just that type of motion, right. So when
- 16:41the pyramidics got there, was he still was he still able to communicate?
- 16:48Yeah, he was still alive and everything. It was an older cop that
- 16:52got the first. I was down on the floor beside send me like leaning
- 16:56down, and he never I'm gonna be honest, He never stepped down to
- 17:00try to do put pressure on him or CPR. He was like, ma'am.
- 17:03The amalysts on the way. So by time the amilists got there,
- 17:07they had a victim advocant, a lady and they had took me out the
- 17:12room, out the bathroom in the room, said so they can work with
- 17:15him, and brought me in the kitchen, set me down at the kitchen
- 17:18table, and I was just praying like Lord, please, please, Lord,
- 17:22please please like that and um. When they came out with Simea and
- 17:27rolled him in the kitchen on the stretcher, his high was closed. He
- 17:32was landed and I jumped up and said, it's my husband, dad,
- 17:34it's my husband dad, and back three or four cops. They was holding
- 17:37me to set me back down and say, ma'am, let us work with
- 17:41him, let us work with him. But Simmey was not even moving a
- 17:45nothing. So they took him on to the hospital. But for the longest
- 17:48they kept him out there in the yards. Called. By time my daughter
- 17:52got there, Brianna, she was saying, Mama, they still out there
- 17:56in the yard with similar But then I found out later that they had worked
- 18:00on him. He left like five times, and after the fifth time they
- 18:03said he didn't come back. I'm so sorry. Yeah, so they said
- 18:07they were still working on him. That's why they were still in the yard,
- 18:11right. Well, they said he was fighting though, But then there
- 18:14was a rumor went around said he was shot five or seven times, gone
- 18:18walking up the stairs in the house. None of that never happened, so
- 18:22nobody never heard my side of the story. But that's not true. When
- 18:26I got the paperwork from the corner. The corner took me he only was
- 18:30shot three times. And they said the bullet that killed him was the one
- 18:33that went through his side where he was holding the door, and they said
- 18:38it hit all his main arteries in his stomach. Then they told me that's
- 18:44the bullet. But I said, so, how many times was he shot?
- 18:47Then he said, the corner on the phone told me it wasn't umber
- 18:49three times. So the rumor and the rumor that went around it was five
- 18:56and seven times. That's not that's not so it was only three time.
- 19:00And I got the paperwork prove it. Yeah. Yeah, Well, I
- 19:04want to say to you, um, as far as rumors go, we
- 19:07don't worry about rumors. Um. Can you know that happened, You lived
- 19:12through it. Um, nobody can tell you better than you how you went
- 19:18through this. So, I mean, you know, rumors are just what
- 19:22they are, and so we give we give them no power. Ay man,
- 19:26ay man. And so I want to ask, um, did your
- 19:30son run away or did he stay on the scene. Oh, no,
- 19:34he ran away. It was like a man hunt that day. It was
- 19:37all over the news. They had my house, my car, my pictures,
- 19:41me and my husband. Pictures all over the news, so much attack
- 19:45came in, you know, to my phone, to my maginer. It
- 19:49was it was very chaos. It was it was real bad. And they
- 19:55didn't even know how bad I was hurting myself, you know what I'm saying.
- 19:59Where at the hospital had to give me a little tiny peel that every
- 20:02time I got upset, my niece would have to give me one and it
- 20:04would knock me out, I mean knock me out within a second. Yeah,
- 20:10And that the people that was killing me didn't even know how bad I
- 20:12was hurting, you know what I'm saying. And I come saying, Lord,
- 20:15while you just didn't lay him, take me with him, you know
- 20:18what I'm saying. Because I had to. I had to endure a lot
- 20:22of suffering. You know what I'm saying. I mean, not look like
- 20:25what I've been through now, but I've been through some stuff. What people
- 20:29don't understand when you're going through something like this. It was weeks that I
- 20:33wasn't even sleeping. I can be up all night long watching two but every
- 20:38black Christen moving anything and then punching the next day. It was weeks that
- 20:44I wasn't even sleeping. I was paring on. I thought every time I
- 20:48drove my yellow Humble that at the red light, people was looking at me
- 20:52like they knew because they put my car all over the news. So I
- 20:55sold my I sold my Humble, right, yeah, So m all of
- 21:03this took place. What is your relationship with your son? Like now,
- 21:07I hadn't saw him for almost three years to about two months ago. Because
- 21:11you gotta understand, I've haven't been through group support, right, psychiatric counsel.
- 21:18I'm still, you know, with psychiot and counsel. Right now,
- 21:22I've tended like three or four different groups support group out of Greenville over in
- 21:26Grier, and everybody was getting be prepared because, like they said, at
- 21:30the end of the day, that's still your child, right. So it
- 21:34took me two months. About two months ago i've seen him. I thought
- 21:37all these years that had went by, I was kind of nervous and scared,
- 21:42and I found out from his counsel that he was scared too. But
- 21:47one thing about it. When he talked to me on the phone, he
- 21:48said, Mama, why everybody keep telling me I killed pop? He said,
- 21:52Mama, I did not kill a pop. I said, yeah,
- 21:55you did. Drinko. You shot him and you put a nine to my
- 21:57head, but he didn't. He just wouldn't set that he killed pop and
- 22:02put a nine to my head. Yeah. I was just about to ask
- 22:07you what the conversation was like when you finally were able to talk to him.
- 22:12Um, do you get to visit with him? That's only visit I
- 22:18don't had. It was two months ago, okay, yeah, yeah,
- 22:22because I had my noma had to get changed and everything, so am I
- 22:26wasn't even septing calls from him Dan neither, right, Yeah, I understand,
- 22:33um who Yeah, your story is is powerful and UM grateful that you
- 22:42reached out to me to be a vessel to allow you a platform to speak
- 22:51on your story and your situation. And I'm humbled that you chose me.
- 22:57Um, you could have chose anybody in this world to share your story with.
- 23:03And I'm humbled and I'm grateful. I you know, there's really no
- 23:07words to say to make any of this right for you, But I want
- 23:14to know what would you tell someone that may be in the same situation dealing
- 23:19with a child that has a mental illness. What would you what would you
- 23:23say to that to that mom? That may need to get a word from
- 23:29someone going through something similar. Whatever you do, any little sign that you
- 23:36see, please get some help. Get them to somebody, a document to
- 23:41help somebody. Don't stop and to somebody hear your boys. I don't want
- 23:45to see this happen to nobody else what I had to endure to lose a
- 23:49son and a husband. Right, yeah, let me get your little background.
- 23:56Now you got understand Apostle Simeon Jane Fraser. He pastle for twenty five
- 24:00years. He had five books on Amazon. He was an awesome man of
- 24:06God. Okay, awesome man of God. So to keep his legacy living,
- 24:12to keep his legacy moving on, can you tell the people how they
- 24:17can go about finding his books to you know, get to know him through
- 24:22his words? Yeah, his book is. His books are on Amazon and
- 24:26Bars and Nova. Okay, okay, Yes, he was an awesome teacher.
- 24:36And I want to ask you how would the people reach out to you
- 24:40about your book if they wanted to get a copy of your book. They
- 24:45can put my name in on Amazon and Bars and Nova. But it's it's
- 24:48supposed to be going to Walmart. And I think the young lady said Target
- 24:52too, So Walmart and Target for to be carrying my book soon. Okay,
- 24:57that's awesome. That that is awesome. I hope that your book takes
- 25:03you to the highest levels because people need to hear your story. They really,
- 25:10um, I wants to reach out to you. UM, I know
- 25:14that you're UM in the ministry. If they want to reach out to you
- 25:18and talk to you directly, how can they reach you? My normal stuff
- 25:22is inside my book along with my email address. But they can call me
- 25:27any time. Facebook me, I mean, you know, get in touch
- 25:30with me through Facebook as George Frasier. Okay, yeah, this hit me.
- 25:36Give me a mess and I'll reach out. UM. Do you have
- 25:41any anything that you want to say, UM to the people that may be
- 25:48listening right now that you know are suffering in silence, that have maybe have
- 25:56gone through what you you're going through right now and don't have the ability or
- 26:03um, the bravery to speak on their story till they got to keep they
- 26:12got to trust God. Because one thing about the devil, he comes to
- 26:15kill still and destroy, But the God that we serve, he come backs
- 26:19to restore. And He's going to restore everything that I have lost and give
- 26:25me back more than what I lost. And he's already daughter because I just
- 26:29recently got married awesome man of God and my last name is Keen now like
- 26:37Ai n g okay, and we serve an awesome God. And I thank
- 26:42God for this man of God that would allow me to talk about my to
- 26:48seize husband and allow me to still grieve and comfort me and rub my shoulder
- 26:56and let me know it's gonna be okay. But one thing I learned from
- 27:00going through these classes and support group. Don't nobody know how long you're gonna
- 27:03grieve. Can't nobody to tell you when to stop grieving or grieving gonna go
- 27:10away? It don't work like that, y'all, because you've been having the
- 27:14best time of your life and all of a sudden, it'll just hit you.
- 27:18Sometimes you can just find yourself driving and your crime, or it would
- 27:22be something about a song that reminds you of you and your husband or your
- 27:27loved one, and it can just hit you from nowhere. And so I
- 27:32asked the doctor, I said, well, how long is I'm gonna grieve?
- 27:34And christ stuff? He said, Joyce, can't nobody to tell you
- 27:38that, he says. Some people don't never stop it's just getting better at
- 27:44time. He said, you just gotta learn the new normal, the new
- 27:48normal. That was his word. New normal. Yeah, Um, what
- 27:56is um, what's going to happen with yourself? Son? Now? From
- 28:03what they were saying that that's not gonna be a trial, I think puthy
- 28:08and incompetent to stand, incompetent to stand trial. Okay, So there'll never
- 28:14be a trial. Okay. So the only thing they're doing is getting him
- 28:18on the right medicine, got him in the state hospital, a mental hospital.
- 28:23And I could do is just keep praying for him and pray. It's
- 28:32one day at a time that God going to deliver him from all the deaths.
- 28:37And it's all we can do it just pray. Yeah. Well,
- 28:44I'll continue to pray for you and to pray with you, and I pray
- 28:48that God grants you the peace that surpasses all understanding. He knows only he
- 28:55knows. Um, don't rush your grieving because nobody can tell you. You
- 29:02can't put a cap on briething. I mean, as you said, it
- 29:06can happen at any time. Um, there's no there's no long you know,
- 29:11there there's no time limit on when it will stop, you know,
- 29:15but you you will know when you get there, you will definitely know.
- 29:19UM. I just want to tell you that we love you, we support
- 29:23you, and if you ever need anything from me or from the Crew podcast,
- 29:30just just reach out. Hey man, thank you so much. I

- 30:59to say this to those that are watching a situation like this. It wasn't
- 31:06even the people in the world that was killing me. It was those that
- 31:10Waldie's collar had these titles apostles, prophecies, he bangs, teacher. But
- 31:15I want to say this tonight, if you if you wear that title,
- 31:21you are to know the prayer of the righteous. They should have been playing
- 31:25for my strength instead of trying to kill my character because that wasn't God for
- 31:30what they was trying to do to me when they didn't even know the story.
- 31:36All right, Well, God created a platform for you to share your
- 31:41story tonight, and that you know He'll create even more platforms for you to
- 31:49share your story. Um, he always gets the glory, hey man,

- 32:45to reach out to someone, by all means, reach out Because us black
- 32:50people, we tend to not feel like we need help in situations like that,
