- 0:40Speaker 4: Picture Association of America.
- 0:42Speaker 5: It is intended for mature audiences and parental discretion is advised.
- 0:47Speaker 6: Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million kilowatts of power.
- 1:17Speaker 7: What's up and welcome to Movie Meltdown.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I'm Brian.
- 1:20Speaker 3: I'm Lucy.
- 1:20Speaker 4: I'm Misty.
- 1:21Speaker 8: And I'm Jake.
- 1:47Speaker 1: And happy Halloween. This is the, what are we saying now?
- 1:52Speaker 1: Third annual Halloween? Fourth annual Halloween.
- 1:56Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Let's see. Wait, we have to do the movies. I
- 1:59Speaker 1: think this is the fourth. We did Trick or Treat.
- 2:02Speaker 9: I love that movie.
- 2:03Speaker 1: We should do that one again. Halloween 3 and then
- 2:07Speaker 1: Trick or Treat. So, yes, this would be the fourth
- 2:10Speaker 1: annual Halloween extravaganza. I don't know. What do we want
- 2:14Speaker 1: to call this thing?
- 2:15Speaker 9: Hoopla. That's what I'm going with today.
- 2:17Speaker 6: A hootenanny.
- 2:18Speaker 9: A hootenanny.
- 2:20Speaker 1: And as you've already asked, it can't be a Halloween
- 2:22Speaker 1: episode without... Candy! I don't know if everyone will be happy.
- 2:26Speaker 1: I know a certain person won't.
- 2:28Speaker 5: Be, but.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Misty probably will be.
- 2:30Speaker 9: What's we got in?
- 2:32Speaker 1: That's probably for the best.
- 2:33Speaker 10: What is it? What is it?
- 2:34Speaker 8: What is it?
- 2:36Speaker 1: Candy corn.
- 2:36Speaker 9: Hells yeah, candy corn. Is there any mallard pumpkins?
- 2:40Speaker 1: No, because I didn't want those.
- 2:42Speaker 9: I love mallard pumpkins.
- 2:43Speaker 1: But wait, there's flavors.
- 2:45Speaker 9: Those are gross.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Caramel and apple and original recipe.
- 2:49Speaker 9: The caramel apple ones are gross, dude.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Too bad.
- 2:53Speaker 9: Here, hold this so I can open this.
- 2:56Speaker 2: So no candy corn Oreos for me?
- 2:59Speaker 1: I gave you the option to pick a candy that
- 3:02Speaker 1: was okay with your food sensibilities.
- 3:07Speaker 2: I'm just a crazy vegan people.
- 3:10Speaker 7: The candy corn Oreos don't taste like candy corn.
- 3:13Speaker 1: They're very disappointing. I was like, candy corn's like plastic anyway, right?
- 3:17Speaker 1: Wax at best. I don't know why they need to
- 3:21Speaker 1: use eggs to make plastic anyway.
- 3:24Speaker 9: These are not fantastic.
- 3:26Speaker 7: Wow.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Somebody gave me a recipe for vegan candy corn, which
- 3:29Speaker 2: seemed really complicated and a lot of effort to create
- 3:33Speaker 2: something that historically tastes terrible.
- 3:36Speaker 1: What the hell you say?
- 3:37Speaker 2: Even when done right.
- 3:38Speaker 9: Candy corn is fucking awesome. I love the mallard cream pumpkin.
- 3:43Speaker 9: Give me that goddamn microphone. Those are the reasons I
- 3:46Speaker 9: look forward to every year. That's why I keep on
- 3:48Speaker 9: going with my life. I love the little mallard cream...
- 3:50Speaker 9: You know the little pumpkins?
- 3:53Speaker 1: I was going to get them, but I wanted to
- 3:54Speaker 1: try the flavors. They come with the autumn mix. Yeah.
- 3:57Speaker 9: You can buy bags of that shit all by themselves.
- 3:59Speaker 9: Let me tell you, they're fucking little... little bites of
- 4:01Speaker 9: heaven if I wasn't an atheist they're fucking delicious they're
- 4:06Speaker 9: little they're like candy corn but like bigger and pumpkin
- 4:10Speaker 9: shaped and you can eat a whole pumpkin and you
- 4:12Speaker 9: can pretend you're a giant and be like I'm eating
- 4:14Speaker 9: a whole pumpkin I'm sure everybody does that I do
- 4:19Speaker 9: it's like part of me wants to like try to
- 4:20Speaker 9: carve one but I know that would be way too
- 4:22Speaker 9: fucking hard and I just give up and eat it
- 4:26Speaker 9: you're special I am special did you get original recipe
- 4:30Speaker 9: open no yeah They have a tear spot here.
- 4:33Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 4:34Speaker 9: No, you're doing it wrong.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Can't I just slash things with the blade?
- 4:37Speaker 10: No.
- 4:37Speaker 7: You're doing it wrong.
- 4:38Speaker 9: You've got to follow the rules.
- 4:40Speaker 1: I slashed that one too bad.
- 4:41Speaker 7: No, hijacking the.
- 4:43Speaker 9: You know what this towel's for.
- 4:45Speaker 4: What?
- 4:45Speaker 1: Oh, the.
- 4:47Speaker 6: Thanks.
- 4:48Speaker 1: This, too, is a Halloween tradition. Misty using her candy
- 4:51Speaker 1: corn to make teeth out of it.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Okay, that's actually kind of adorable.
- 4:56Speaker 9: Hold on, hold on. Do you have a variation?
- 4:59Speaker 1: The werewolf version.
- 5:01Speaker 9: Yep. Do you need the vampire option as well?
- 5:14Speaker 1: I'm having original recipe now.
- 5:15Speaker 9: What was your take on the other varieties?
- 5:18Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 5:19Speaker 1: They all taste like wax. What do you want?
- 5:21Speaker 5: I do not.
- 5:22Speaker 1: I like them, but it tastes like wax. And, Lucy,
- 5:28Speaker 1: you were supposed to bring your Gobstoppers, which I said
- 5:30Speaker 1: were not Halloween candy at all.
- 5:32Speaker 9: Okay, I.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Honestly, I didn't understand the concept. This is my first
- 5:36Speaker 2: Halloween show. I thought that the candy was for watching
- 5:39Speaker 2: the Halloween movie. That made sense to me. That was
- 5:41Speaker 2: a concept I could wrap my head around. I didn't know.
- 5:44Speaker 9: Do we do things logically?
- 5:46Speaker 1: Never on this show. So, yeah.
- 5:48Speaker 9: So you ate all your candy when you watched the movie?
- 5:50Speaker 2: Well, again, actually I failed in that capacity also. Instead,
- 5:54Speaker 2: I was like, actually maybe a glass of wine would
- 5:57Speaker 2: be better with this movie. And so I went that route.
- 5:59Speaker 5: Gosh.
- 6:01Speaker 2: No, it was just somebody that knew I had to
- 6:02Speaker 2: make it through Jeepers Creepers again.
- 6:03Speaker 9: Was it candy corn flavored wine? Did they make candy
- 6:06Speaker 9: corn flavored wine?
- 6:07Speaker 4: I would think they probably do at this point.
- 6:09Speaker 9: They made candy corn flavored Jones Soda, and that was nasty.
- 6:13Speaker 9: And I still have some in my cabinet from like,
- 6:14Speaker 9: how many years ago did.
- 6:15Speaker 3: You buy that?
- 6:16Speaker 1: I don't know, five, six, eight. I can't remember.
- 6:19Speaker 9: It's closer to eight or nine.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Probably.
- 6:21Speaker 9: Nasty.
- 6:24Speaker 1: I drank it. I still have one of those in
- 6:26Speaker 1: the can, and I still have a black cat licorice
- 6:29Speaker 1: version of it. Whatever that one was. I think they did.
- 6:32Speaker 1: I think that's what they titled that one. That was
- 6:35Speaker 1: pretty good if you like licorice, but I'm usually the
- 6:37Speaker 1: only one in the world that likes black licorice.
- 6:39Speaker 9: Because they're gross.
- 6:41Speaker 1: No, I'm right. It's awesome.
- 6:44Speaker 3: All right.
- 6:45Speaker 9: Yeah, the caramel apple is not very fantastic. I mean,
- 6:48Speaker 9: it's better than the caramel. The caramel's funky.
- 6:51Speaker 1: So, do you want to use this as an excuse
- 6:53Speaker 1: to discuss your favorite of Halloween activities, which is finding
- 6:57Speaker 1: Halloween-themed foods?
- 6:59Speaker 9: I guess we could discuss that. What was it this year?
- 7:01Speaker 9: Was it the Oreos? Is that what we're going to
- 7:03Speaker 9: talk about?
- 7:04Speaker 1: There's many things. Yeah, go for the Oreos if you're
- 7:07Speaker 1: up for it.
- 7:07Speaker 9: I was very disappointed.
- 7:08Speaker 1: You specialize in the specific foods for Halloween.
- 7:11Speaker 9: Well, we could talk about my favorite, which is the
- 7:13Speaker 9: caramel apple milkshakes that they have at Steak and Shake.
- 7:16Speaker 1: How many are you up to now?
- 7:18Speaker 9: I only have, what, five or six?
- 7:19Speaker 7: Yeah, we didn't go this week.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Last time I saw you, you were like, I've had
- 7:23Speaker 1: three this week.
- 7:25Speaker 9: That was the first week.
- 7:26Speaker 7: Well, we did go this week. Remember the.
- 7:28Speaker 1: We went on Saturday.
- 7:29Speaker 7: Yeah, the guy didn't get.
- 7:32Speaker 4: Our order in in time.
- 7:35Speaker 6: Asshole.
- 7:36Speaker 1: He forgot it.
- 7:37Speaker 4: And then he put whipped cream on it.
- 7:38Speaker 9: I specifically said no whipped cream, no cherry. But, I
- 7:42Speaker 9: don't know, was there something else?
- 7:44Speaker 2: Ooh.
- 7:46Speaker 9: I got Count Chocula cereal bars. I'm so excited.
- 7:51Speaker 1: I just saw the picture of it online. I'd eat those.
- 7:54Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 7:54Speaker 9: Because I was very disappointed last year because they had
- 7:57Speaker 9: the Boo-Berry Fruit Roll-Ups. And then they had Franken-Berry Fruit Roll-Ups.
- 8:03Speaker 9: And I'm like, yeah, I kind of understand not making
- 8:05Speaker 9: a Count Chocolate Fruit Roll-Up because that would be just nasty.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Chocolate leather.
- 8:09Speaker 9: But they didn't do anything. But this year, they fucking
- 8:12Speaker 9: lived up to it. And they got some Count Chocolate
- 8:15Speaker 9: cereal balls. And I'm pretty damn excited about them cereal bars.
- 8:19Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 8:21Speaker 9: What else did I find that was awesome? The Oreos
- 8:24Speaker 9: were kind of disappointing. The Candy Corn Oreos. It did
- 8:28Speaker 9: not taste like candy corn.
- 8:30Speaker 7: They rank right up there with the birthday cake Oreos.
- 8:33Speaker 9: The birthday cake ones were just ass nasty, and I
- 8:35Speaker 9: didn't even finish that entire pack. They got thrown in
- 8:37Speaker 9: the garbage. I might make it through the candy corn ones.
- 8:40Speaker 7: I like the numinos better.
- 8:42Speaker 9: The numinos were nasty, too.
- 8:43Speaker 4: I like them.
- 8:44Speaker 9: You're weird.
- 8:44Speaker 7: I like Paul Newman.
- 8:45Speaker 9: I did too, but he still wore cookies.
- 8:47Speaker 7: I'll eat two or three bags of his cookies.
- 8:49Speaker 1: They were pretty good, actually. Yeah, I got his knockoff Oreos,
- 8:53Speaker 1: and I expected them to be kind of lame just
- 8:55Speaker 1: because they were knockoffs.
- 8:56Speaker 7: They don't have enough sugar in them.
- 8:58Speaker 1: No, they're pretty close to me.
- 9:00Speaker 9: No, they're nowhere near. If you like them so damn much,
- 9:02Speaker 9: why is there still two bags in the cabinet?
- 9:04Speaker 7: Because you know me. I forget there's food in there,
- 9:06Speaker 7: and I forget to eat.
- 9:08Speaker 1: I needed to be in sight. That whole out-of-sight thing
- 9:11Speaker 1: is true.
- 9:12Speaker 7: It's like, oh, shit, I don't have any. And then
- 9:14Speaker 7: I opened the cabinet, and I was like, oh, my God,
- 9:16Speaker 7: I've got this.
- 9:16Speaker 9: It's like peek-a-boo. Where'd Misty go?
- 9:19Speaker 2: Oh, there she is. That's exactly the opposite of how
- 9:21Speaker 2: my mind works. If there's something in the cabinet, that's
- 9:23Speaker 2: all I'm going to think about. It's like all of
- 9:25Speaker 2: a sudden I have x-ray vision, and I know it's there.
- 9:28Speaker 2: That's why I can't buy food to have in my house.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Well, there wasn't any there when I saw it. But,
- 9:35Speaker 1: let's see, what else? Yeah, I tried one of the
- 9:38Speaker 1: candy corn Oreos at Bo's drive-in party, which was pretty awesome.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Aren't they disappointing? Yeah, I was just kind of like, well,
- 9:44Speaker 1: first of all, it's one of the weird white vanilla cookies. Yeah,
- 9:48Speaker 1: that's never good. That's not a good option anyway. And
- 9:50Speaker 1: then I was just like, well, it's all right, but
- 9:52Speaker 1: it doesn't really taste like candy corn.
- 9:54Speaker 9: It's got the same colors on the inside. I mean,
- 9:57Speaker 9: the inside's got like the, well, it's got the yellow inside.
- 10:00Speaker 9: the orange. There's no white on the inside because it's
- 10:01Speaker 9: got like a white cookie.
- 10:02Speaker 1: But still, I was very disappointed. We have, yeah, we've
- 10:07Speaker 1: gone with candy corn on this option. So we have
- 10:10Speaker 1: original recipe. This one is caramel apple. And this one's
- 10:18Speaker 1: just caramel. Which is not bad, actually.
- 10:21Speaker 9: I was very disturbed by the caramel. I'm going to
- 10:24Speaker 9: eat this whole damn bag of candy corn.
- 10:26Speaker 1: It happens every year.
- 10:27Speaker 9: I was still eating my candy corn from last year.
- 10:29Speaker 9: I was so excited I found it in the back
- 10:31Speaker 9: of the cabinet. I was cleaning it out. And this
- 10:33Speaker 9: was like two weeks before they had Halloween candy in
- 10:36Speaker 9: the store. And I was cleaning out the cabinet. And
- 10:39Speaker 9: I was like, what the hell is this garbage? I
- 10:40Speaker 9: don't know. Something had expired. I'm like, I don't need this.
- 10:43Speaker 9: I was like, holy shit, I got candy corn back here.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Let's cut this bitch open.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Thank God it never goes bad because it's candy corn.
- 10:51Speaker 9: And it was the autumn mix, so it had the
- 10:53Speaker 9: mallard cream pumpkins, and I was hella excited. Happy dances
- 10:56Speaker 9: were done all around.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Well, what about the previously posted, if you're on our
- 11:01Speaker 1: Facebook page, which you should be anyway, yeah, I posted
- 11:04Speaker 1: on my page the Cadbury Halloween mix with green goo.
- 11:10Speaker 9: Those things are nasty.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Have you not seen those?
- 11:14Speaker 9: You know the Cadbury cream eggs, which are just disgusting
- 11:16Speaker 9: and creepy to begin with.
- 11:17Speaker 7: It's like somebody blew their snotty-ass nose inside of a
- 11:20Speaker 7: damn chocolate egg.
- 11:22Speaker 1: But I was like, if I'm going to bother to
- 11:23Speaker 1: take a picture of it and make fun of it,
- 11:25Speaker 1: I'm going to have to eat it. I'm not one
- 11:27Speaker 1: of those people that talks shit and then doesn't have
- 11:28Speaker 1: any idea what it is. I'm like, I'm going to
- 11:30Speaker 1: eat one. Yep. Well, I mean, it tastes like a
- 11:34Speaker 1: Cadbury cream egg. So those are, like, there's no middle
- 11:37Speaker 1: ground on that. You either love those in a weird,
- 11:40Speaker 1: weird way. Or you're kind of like, those are gross.
- 11:43Speaker 1: I don't want anything to do with them. I'm one
- 11:44Speaker 1: of the few that can just kind of eat it.
- 11:46Speaker 1: I can take them or leave them. And really, I'd
- 11:48Speaker 1: rather leave them because they're kind of gross. But like
- 11:50Speaker 1: every few years, I have to have one to remind
- 11:52Speaker 1: myself what those weird things taste like.
- 11:54Speaker 9: They're nasty.
- 11:55Speaker 1: So this was my excuse, the green slime inside. And
- 11:58Speaker 1: the green does not make it more appetizing, I'll say.
- 12:01Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:02Speaker 9: Yeah, I've never been a big fan of those.
- 12:05Speaker 1: And as somebody pointed out on the page, they're like,
- 12:08Speaker 1: it doesn't even make sense. It's an egg. Why the
- 12:10Speaker 1: hell is it at Halloween? So I still like my idea.
- 12:14Speaker 1: The tie-in should be only with the officially licensed alien
- 12:19Speaker 1: tie-in egg. And then it would be green. Then it
- 12:22Speaker 1: would make sense. And I still want some sort of... Actually,
- 12:25Speaker 1: we were going back and forth. I originally said sweet
- 12:27Speaker 1: tart as a little face hugger inside of every egg.
- 12:30Speaker 9: They would get wet and they'd get soggy. Okay.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Then Jay said gummy. I said it might eat away
- 12:36Speaker 1: at the gumminess. So the option someone else mentioned the
- 12:39Speaker 1: other day was it should be made out of M
- 12:42Speaker 1: & M stuff. It could have the hard shell to
- 12:44Speaker 1: protect it, and then you'd have chocolate inside. They win.
- 12:47Speaker 1: That's the way to go with it. It should be.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Whether or not you can get an officially licensed M
- 12:51Speaker 1: & M tie-in, I don't think you can. Probably not.
- 12:53Speaker 1: But you can do your knockoff M & M stuff.
- 12:55Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 12:56Speaker 1: That's the way it should go. Green goo. chocolate M
- 12:59Speaker 1: & M like facehugger.
- 13:00Speaker 9: I don't know. I think the gooey stuff inside would
- 13:03Speaker 9: eventually go through the layer of M & M.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Probably because it's not made to be ingested probably.
- 13:08Speaker 9: I do like the Cadbury mini eggs though. I ain't
- 13:10Speaker 9: gonna lie. I wish they'd bring those out for Halloween.
- 13:13Speaker 9: I'd eat the hell out of those. They'd have them
- 13:14Speaker 9: at Christmas.
- 13:15Speaker 1: It would make about as much sense.
- 13:17Speaker 9: Cadbury mini eggs are delicious.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Alright, any other Halloween food items? I thought we'd go
- 13:21Speaker 1: with our usual reminiscing about Halloween which usually means just
- 13:25Speaker 1: talking about food and candy.
- 13:27Speaker 9: Trying to think. Yeah, I don't got anything.
- 13:32Speaker 1: All right. Well, we can move on to our other
- 13:35Speaker 1: fun tie-in here. Not only is it our Halloween episode,
- 13:38Speaker 1: but this tie-in Halloween episode is coming to you live
- 13:42Speaker 1: from Scarefest. Technically, we're on the outskirts of Scarefest. We're
- 13:48Speaker 1: in our secret recording area. We're not going to tell
- 13:51Speaker 1: you where it is because we don't want anybody else
- 13:52Speaker 1: to steal it. We've used it two years now, and
- 13:55Speaker 1: so far, it's pretty awesome.
- 13:56Speaker 9: It's like our very own Batcave.
- 13:58Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:59Speaker 9: But with windows?
- 14:00Speaker 3: Shh, they don't know where.
- 14:02Speaker 1: They don't see us. They can't see us here.
- 14:04Speaker 3: We're hiding.
- 14:05Speaker 2: This year a table magically appeared, though.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Yeah, that's pretty handy. We kind of needed it. But
- 14:09Speaker 1: we didn't, yeah, last year we were hanging out on
- 14:10Speaker 1: the couch. So, yeah, it's a toss-up. But I like
- 14:13Speaker 1: the table. It's pretty handy, so. Do you want a
- 14:15Speaker 1: candy coin?
- 14:15Speaker 7: No, I don't like candy coins.
- 14:16Speaker 1: You're recording.
- 14:17Speaker 7: Whatever.
- 14:20Speaker 9: Okay.
- 14:20Speaker 1: So, let's see. Do you want to have a recap
- 14:23Speaker 1: of your scare fest so far today?
- 14:25Speaker 9: Carl was not in the fucking house.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I knew that was coming. I did see Carl.
- 14:30Speaker 9: Not in the fucking house.
- 14:30Speaker 1: He was not in the house.
- 14:31Speaker 9: He's tiny. I figured he'd be a little bit bigger
- 14:33Speaker 9: by now.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a whole new season. I figured by now
- 14:36Speaker 1: he'd hit that weird, awkward teenage years.
- 14:38Speaker 2: The kid from Pet Sematary is not any bigger, so
- 14:40Speaker 2: why would he be?
- 14:41Speaker 5: Nice.
- 14:42Speaker 9: I didn't see him.
- 14:44Speaker 2: You might have looked over him.
- 14:46Speaker 9: Damn.
- 14:47Speaker 1: That was like a misty line. She's rubbing off on you.
- 14:50Speaker 1: It's really sad.
- 14:51Speaker 9: It's really sad because I've only met you like once.
- 14:56Speaker 1: So, let's see. What else have we done?
- 14:58Speaker 10: Wandered around.
- 14:59Speaker 1: I talked to lots of people.
- 15:01Speaker 9: I got free Skittles.
- 15:02Speaker 1: We can... That's your favorite part.
- 15:04Speaker 2: Again, candy.
- 15:05Speaker 1: It's all Halloween candy around here.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Two packages.
- 15:06Speaker 9: They were small ones, but they were still pretty good.
- 15:09Speaker 1: So, we can go through... I like Skittles. We don't
- 15:13Speaker 1: have Skittles.
- 15:14Speaker 9: There's no Halloween Skittles.
- 15:14Speaker 3: I know.
- 15:14Speaker 7: That's what sucks.
- 15:16Speaker 9: We're back to that guy. He seemed really nice. Maybe
- 15:18Speaker 9: he should do a little hand game with it. He'll
- 15:20Speaker 9: let you have some.
- 15:20Speaker 1: I don't want to do that. He wants too much
- 15:22Speaker 1: for his poster, too.
- 15:23Speaker 7: I ain't paying $ 250 for a goddamn poster for Rich.
- 15:26Speaker 1: I don't give a fuck if it's vintage or not.
- 15:28Speaker 1: If it's vintage, it sure does look new for vintage.
- 15:30Speaker 1: You need a reprint. That's what you need. Yeah, I know.
- 15:32Speaker 1: A $ 15 reprint.
- 15:33Speaker 7: That's what you need.
- 15:34Speaker 4: Get the hell.
- 15:37Speaker 3: Out of here.
- 15:37Speaker 1: So we can go through the rundown. I did actually
- 15:39Speaker 1: talk to a lot of cool people this weekend. I didn't.
- 15:43Speaker 1: You're antisocial.
- 15:44Speaker 9: I'll talk to you guys.
- 15:46Speaker 1: I'm surprised even that anymore.
- 15:47Speaker 9: And that one guy.
- 15:48Speaker 1: That one guy.
- 15:49Speaker 9: He gave me candy.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Yeah. You'll do just about anything for candy.
- 15:52Speaker 9: Damn, Skippy. They were Skittles, dude. It's not like he
- 15:56Speaker 9: was handing out fucking bubble gum or something. so let's
- 16:00Speaker 9: see those are the worst i'm sorry.
- 16:02Speaker 1: We we talked to a few i've got a few
- 16:03Speaker 1: that i can run through little little tiny we were
- 16:06Speaker 1: just sort of hitting people this year so we've got
- 16:08Speaker 1: a few that we're gonna come back to later um
- 16:12Speaker 1: yeah we're gonna come back to those later but of
- 16:14Speaker 1: the little snippets we've got here and there uh i
- 16:17Speaker 1: did talk to tony todd who's so awesome is awesome
- 16:21Speaker 1: and very cool and uh we're hoping to rope him
- 16:24Speaker 1: in for an episode down the line, because he is
- 16:26Speaker 1: really cool.
- 16:27Speaker 9: And he is not at all Ken Faree, even though
- 16:29Speaker 9: I keep getting him confused.
- 16:30Speaker 1: You are easily confused.
- 16:32Speaker 3: I am.
- 16:33Speaker 1: No, Tony Todd's awesome, and he's got the voice. Ken's
- 16:37Speaker 1: just crazy. But Tony Todd's voice is badass.
- 16:39Speaker 9: He traumatized me when I was a child.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Well, he should, because that movie's awesome.
- 16:43Speaker 9: I'm telling you, I totally made my grandma take down
- 16:45Speaker 9: all the mirrors in the bathroom because of Candyman. I
- 16:47Speaker 9: was petrified to go pee, so she had to take
- 16:50Speaker 9: the mirrors down. I love my grandma. She's awesome.
- 16:55Speaker 1: She is a sport to put up with you.
- 16:57Speaker 9: My grandma's the best.
- 16:58Speaker 1: That's pretty awesome. So yeah, Tony's got a couple of
- 17:01Speaker 1: things that he's working on. So we were going to
- 17:03Speaker 1: throw that out there and then let you guys hear
- 17:05Speaker 1: about what he's got in the works.
- 17:06Speaker 10: Oh, I love movies. That's why I do this. I
- 17:14Speaker 10: didn't just wake up and say, I want to make
- 17:16Speaker 10: a lot of money. No, I went, I got my
- 17:18Speaker 10: master's in theater and film studies. I mean, this is
- 17:21Speaker 10: my passion. And, you know, my first film was Splatoon.
- 17:24Speaker 10: So that entered really strong, and I've been working ever since.
- 17:29Speaker 10: I'll tell you about what's coming up, though.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Yeah, whatever you got coming?
- 17:32Speaker 10: We got Call of Duty Black Ops 2 coming, dropping
- 17:35Speaker 10: November 13th. I have a full character in that. I'm
- 17:38Speaker 10: the guy that sends everybody on the missions. And then
- 17:41Speaker 10: in January, there's a film called Sushi Girl. It's my
- 17:45Speaker 10: agent calling right now. Sushi Girl, which has Mark Hamill
- 17:48Speaker 10: in it.
- 17:50Speaker 1: But, yeah, actually we talked to Noah Hathaway last year,
- 17:53Speaker 1: and he was telling us about Sushi Girl.
- 17:55Speaker 10: The theatrical release on January 14th, or 4th, Phase 4.
- 17:59Speaker 10: I know your films. We're really happy about it. We
- 18:02Speaker 10: got a limited theatrical. So all the major cities, 12 cities,
- 18:07Speaker 10: I think. So it's going to be fantastic. You know,
- 18:10Speaker 10: and it's a good film. Noah is fantastic.
- 18:13Speaker 1: He's a good guy.
- 18:14Speaker 10: Good guy.
- 18:20Speaker 9: I'm going to sleep with him soon.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Okay, wait a minute. Whoa, this is a newsflash.
- 18:27Speaker 9: Dude, you were there. I got the pillowcase.
- 18:33Speaker 1: You're such a jerk.
- 18:35Speaker 9: I got a Battlestar Galactica pillowcase. And it's got Noah
- 18:39Speaker 9: Hathaway on it. Well, I bought it at the convention. Oh,
- 18:44Speaker 9: the flea market, dude.
- 18:45Speaker 1: The flea market. That's true.
- 18:47Speaker 9: So now that I've washed it like eight or ten times,
- 18:49Speaker 9: it might be deemed safe to actually use because I'm
- 18:51Speaker 9: like a mild germaphobe. So I'm like, I got to
- 18:54Speaker 9: wash it again.
- 18:55Speaker 1: You might just mount it on the wall. I don't know.
- 18:57Speaker 9: No, then I can't say that I slept with Noah Hathaway.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Are you going to take pictures and post them?
- 19:02Speaker 9: Jay's like, dude, you have to put a picture of
- 19:03Speaker 9: it and you have to say that and.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Tag Noah Hathaway. Tag him because he'll think it's awesome.
- 19:06Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 19:07Speaker 1: He's very cool. He is the coolest. It was cool
- 19:10Speaker 1: when we talked to Noah, and it was a nice
- 19:12Speaker 1: little tie-in because, yeah, we were hanging out with Tony
- 19:14Speaker 1: this weekend. Sushi girl. We've got to go find it now,
- 19:17Speaker 1: I guess. And let's see. Who else did we talk to?
- 19:22Speaker 9: Did you talk to E.T.
- 19:22Speaker 6: 's mom?
- 19:24Speaker 4: No.
- 19:24Speaker 9: Did you go pee with E.T.
- 19:24Speaker 6: 's mom? No.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Lucy had the chance. In this ongoing series of running
- 19:29Speaker 1: into celebrities in the bathroom, tell them about your exciting
- 19:33Speaker 1: almost opportunity.
- 19:35Speaker 2: It went a little like this. She was going into
- 19:38Speaker 2: the bathroom, and I said I could go in there too.
- 19:41Speaker 2: And that was pretty much the end of the story.
- 19:43Speaker 9: You could have been taking pictures over the stall, underneath
- 19:46Speaker 9: the stall.
- 19:46Speaker 2: We had so many opportunities for you to talk to her,
- 19:49Speaker 2: and you seem to think that she's harboring some sort
- 19:51Speaker 2: of personal vendetta and that it wasn't going to go over.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Well no I don't think she remembers me at all
- 19:56Speaker 1: but yeah I think last time I talked to her
- 19:57Speaker 1: she was just kind of annoyed which happens a lot.
- 20:01Speaker 2: It could have been a bad day this could have
- 20:03Speaker 2: been the magic day.
- 20:04Speaker 1: But we already asked her about a whole bunch of
- 20:05Speaker 1: stuff does she have like new stuff we need to
- 20:07Speaker 1: talk to her about Is there like a new Howling movie? Oh, wait,
- 20:10Speaker 1: there is. It's been five minutes. They've made another Howling movie.
- 20:14Speaker 9: It looks like it's going to be stupid.
- 20:15Speaker 1: I'm guessing she's not in that one, though, so it's
- 20:17Speaker 1: probably going to suck. Because her Howling movie is awesome.
- 20:21Speaker 9: And I know she's not E.T. 's mom, so I
- 20:22Speaker 9: don't want to get any hate mail saying.
- 20:24Speaker 1: She's not E.T.
- 20:25Speaker 9: 's mom.
- 20:26Speaker 1: That's a joke because we've made fun of people ever
- 20:28Speaker 1: since then because the last time we were here and
- 20:31Speaker 1: saw her, that was the passerby. Look, it's E.T.
- 20:34Speaker 9: 's mom. And I'm like, really? She gave birth to E.T.
- 20:37Speaker 1: I was like, I don't think you were watching the
- 20:39Speaker 1: movie real close. That's not how that went.
- 20:42Speaker 9: I mean, what is the one anybody calling? Oh, Misty's
- 20:45Speaker 9: an idiot. I get that anyways. But I don't want
- 20:48Speaker 9: to be called out for thinking that she was actually E.T.
- 20:50Speaker 8: 's mom.
- 20:50Speaker 1: And if the person passing by would have been, like,
- 20:53Speaker 1: geek savvy enough, technically they might have been making a
- 20:57Speaker 1: joke because I think that's how they refer to her
- 21:00Speaker 1: in Scream. Isn't that what the girl at the video
- 21:02Speaker 1: store says? What's the horror movie with E.T.
- 21:05Speaker 4: 's mom?
- 21:05Speaker 9: I don't remember.
- 21:06Speaker 1: So I think if they were cool enough, we would
- 21:08Speaker 1: have said, you know, oh, they were. But no, this
- 21:10Speaker 1: person just seemed like a yokel and they were just
- 21:12Speaker 1: kind of.
- 21:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 21:13Speaker 1: So we'll continue to make fun of them.
- 21:15Speaker 3: Somebody discovered our secret spot.
- 21:17Speaker 4: Get out.
- 21:18Speaker 9: They did, but they were very respectful about it.
- 21:20Speaker 11: They were very quiet.
- 21:21Speaker 1: They better be.
- 21:22Speaker 2: I think they might have been on route to a
- 21:23Speaker 2: secret spot.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Maybe we'll go see what they're up to later. So, yeah,
- 21:29Speaker 1: we talked to a few other people. I think most
- 21:31Speaker 1: of those we'll just save for future episodes. But the
- 21:34Speaker 1: one that I wanted to get to, mostly because he
- 21:36Speaker 1: was awesome, I did talk to Nicholas Vince, who, if
- 21:40Speaker 1: you know him, you know him from mostly Clive Barker's stuff,
- 21:44Speaker 1: if you're talking movies. He's in Hellraiser 1 and 2,
- 21:49Speaker 1: the good ones, and he's in Nightbreed. He's the chatterer.
- 21:53Speaker 1: In the Hellraiser movies. Yeah, so he's really cool, and
- 21:57Speaker 1: I was glad to get a chance to talk to him.
- 21:59Speaker 1: And he's got a lot of other stuff going on
- 22:02Speaker 1: now and since then. So we're going to talk to
- 22:03Speaker 1: him about the stuff he's got going on since this movie.
- 22:09Speaker 1: All right, so we're here with Nicholas Vince. So you're
- 22:12Speaker 1: in Nightbreed, and you're in both the first two Hellraiser movies.
- 22:16Speaker 1: I think we're going to cover those later down the
- 22:18Speaker 1: line on our show. But I guess, you know, you've
- 22:21Speaker 1: since then got a lot of other stuff going on.
- 22:23Speaker 1: So you are writing and you've done comics. So what?
- 22:26Speaker 6: Yes.
- 22:27Speaker 12: I mean, out of when we were doing Nightbreed, the
- 22:30Speaker 12: scene that's now gone back into the cabal cut where
- 22:34Speaker 12: Laurie and Bobby is singing in a nightclub. When we
- 22:38Speaker 12: filmed that, there were an awful lot of comics creators.
- 22:41Speaker 12: Neil Gaiman was there. John Bolton was there. And I
- 22:44Speaker 12: just kind of and I was there. hanging out with
- 22:47Speaker 12: these guys, and Clive introduced me. I started chatting to
- 22:50Speaker 12: them and got on really well with them. They were
- 22:53Speaker 12: bringing out the Hellraiser comics. Clive knew I wanted to
- 22:59Speaker 12: go into writing, so he gave me the name of
- 23:01Speaker 12: the guy, Dan Chichester, at Marvel, who was doing the
- 23:05Speaker 12: editing of Marvel Comics. I organized myself a trip and
- 23:08Speaker 12: just boldly walked into Marvel Comics. I can't believe I
- 23:11Speaker 12: did this. I just said, I'd like to see Dan Chichester.
- 23:15Speaker 12: My name's Nicholas Ferns. I'm kind of like, waiting for
- 23:17Speaker 12: 20 minutes, and suddenly this little intern came running out saying,
- 23:20Speaker 12: Dan's really sorry. He didn't recognize the name, but he's
- 23:23Speaker 12: really apologetic for keeping you waiting. And I'm thinking, I
- 23:25Speaker 12: didn't have an appointment. I just, you know, I'm just
- 23:28Speaker 12: doing my bold as brass thing. And just kind of
- 23:33Speaker 12: pitched the story to him that I'd written on the
- 23:35Speaker 12: plane on the way over.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Had you been writing before that?
- 23:40Speaker 12: Only for my own kind of benefit and, you know,
- 23:42Speaker 12: my own thing. I always wrote, I think, a lot
- 23:46Speaker 12: of teenagers find writing very helpful to kind of get
- 23:48Speaker 12: all the emotion out in your head therapeutic it's very
- 23:53Speaker 12: therapeutic and so on and Clive would always encourage me
- 23:58Speaker 12: to write as well so yeah and as I said
- 24:03Speaker 12: having been so closely involved with Hellraiser and then with
- 24:06Speaker 12: Nightbreed as well when Dan Chichester relinquished control of the
- 24:11Speaker 12: writing responsibilities on Nightbreed it was just great to be
- 24:15Speaker 12: able to go in and play with this wonderful mythos
- 24:17Speaker 12: for both the Hellraiser and the Nightbreed stuff. You know,
- 24:20Speaker 12: that was just a great deal of fun.
- 24:22Speaker 1: I actually, I didn't know until recently that you had written,
- 24:26Speaker 1: because I was a big fan of that series and
- 24:28Speaker 1: was actually reading as they came out. I was buying
- 24:31Speaker 1: those then. So it's, yeah. And now looking back going,
- 24:33Speaker 1: oh wait, he wrote, I have that issue. So, but yeah,
- 24:37Speaker 1: it's kind of interesting. And then is it something, you know, you,
- 24:41Speaker 1: did they give you an idea of where the story
- 24:44Speaker 1: was supposed to go? Because it seems like that series
- 24:46Speaker 1: in particular has so many, like, it didn't even run
- 24:49Speaker 1: for a huge amount of time, but it has so
- 24:50Speaker 1: many left turns where, like, the story will jump to
- 24:53Speaker 1: a different character altogether, or the artwork will massively change.
- 24:57Speaker 12: Yeah, no, so we had, when we were doing the
- 25:00Speaker 12: Nightbreed one, yeah, the Nightbreed comic, particularly, I mean, Dan
- 25:04Speaker 12: had taken it off in a very different direction with
- 25:07Speaker 12: a whole new set of characters that weren't featured in
- 25:09Speaker 12: the movie. It's fine. When I spoke to Clive about it,
- 25:12Speaker 12: he kind of liked the idea of what I wanted
- 25:14Speaker 12: to do, which was just take it as if we
- 25:17Speaker 12: were writing a sequel. Okay, what has happened to these guys?
- 25:20Speaker 12: You've got Kinski, you've got Peloquin, you've got these really,
- 25:23Speaker 12: really cool guys who are fun to play and write for.
- 25:30Speaker 12: And there's some wonderful themes about monsters and Midian and
- 25:35Speaker 12: the outcasts and so on. So I kind of wanted
- 25:38Speaker 12: to take it into that and just kind of work
- 25:42Speaker 12: with Clive and bounce ideas off him as to where
- 25:45Speaker 12: we wanted to go. Because Russell Charrington, who is the
- 25:48Speaker 12: director of the Cabal Cut, was saying that Clive had
- 25:52Speaker 12: already mapped out the next three books, the next three
- 25:55Speaker 12: movies for Nightbreak.
- 25:56Speaker 1: So that's what I wasn't sure if it was having
- 25:59Speaker 1: issues technically or with financial, like the company was coming in.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Because it just took such strange turns.
- 26:04Speaker 12: Yeah, and I think because it also... You had one,
- 26:08Speaker 12: Dan Chichester was writing Nightbreed for a while. He kept
- 26:11Speaker 12: it going down one. Then you brought in other writers.
- 26:15Speaker 12: I think that was the interesting, because Nightbreed was supposed
- 26:18Speaker 12: to be like a more regular comic, whereas the Hellraisers
- 26:21Speaker 12: were definitely collections of short stories which other people had done.
- 26:27Speaker 12: So I think you had the same similarities. To create
- 26:30Speaker 12: a comic, you have to have people working. Either you're
- 26:33Speaker 12: going to have the same writer, the same artist producing it,
- 26:36Speaker 12: it's actually quite tough to produce that monthly and so on.
- 26:40Speaker 12: So they brought in kind of guest writers and so on,
- 26:42Speaker 12: which is kind of how I began.
- 26:45Speaker 1: But again, I really like that. Again, those are just
- 26:48Speaker 1: such great characters, so I think it did welcome following
- 26:51Speaker 1: them and seeing more of their stories. So yeah, I
- 26:54Speaker 1: love those. And then you've written a book?
- 26:57Speaker 12: I've written my first collection of short stories, What Monsters Do,
- 27:01Speaker 12: which I'm really excited about because it's just, saying that
- 27:06Speaker 12: I've now got my third five-star review on Amazon.co.uk. Nothing
- 27:10Speaker 12: on Amazon.com yet. I'm really interested to see what it's like. Americans,
- 27:13Speaker 12: I know you're out there. I know you've bought the book.
- 27:15Speaker 12: Let me know what you think. So I'm returning after
- 27:20Speaker 12: quite some time. I went away and I got myself
- 27:23Speaker 12: a real job for many years.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Those are no fun.
- 27:27Speaker 12: No, those are no fun. That all came to an
- 27:29Speaker 12: end earlier this year. And I felt great. Now I
- 27:33Speaker 12: have the chance to go back to doing what it
- 27:34Speaker 12: is I love. So it's been tremendously rewarding. And as
- 27:38Speaker 12: I say, getting some good reaction.
- 27:41Speaker 1: So is acting going to come back into play?
- 27:45Speaker 12: I don't... I suppose my answer is never say never.
- 27:49Speaker 12: I don't really see it happening. It's not what I
- 27:51Speaker 12: want to concentrate on. And one of the reasons I
- 27:53Speaker 12: left acting after doing Nightbreed was because I actually wanted
- 27:57Speaker 12: to go into writing. And I was writing about I
- 28:02Speaker 12: had my own series running for Marvel UK. Warheads were
- 28:06Speaker 12: on stage. I was contributing to the Hellraiser comics, the
- 28:08Speaker 12: Nightbreed comics. I was doing some other stuff here and there,
- 28:11Speaker 12: other bits and bobs. That kind of all came to
- 28:13Speaker 12: an end fairly suddenly. That's why I got into a
- 28:17Speaker 12: day job. Reality, you have to pay the rent at
- 28:21Speaker 12: the end of the month.
- 28:22Speaker 1: I don't like that.
- 28:23Speaker 12: No, no, no, I know. So I think it's, The
- 28:28Speaker 12: plan at the moment is I've got What Monsters Do.
- 28:30Speaker 12: I'm working on the next collection of short stories, which
- 28:32Speaker 12: should hopefully be out within the next month, probably the
- 28:36Speaker 12: beginning of November, if not before. I plan to do
- 28:39Speaker 12: another collection by the end of the year, May drift
- 28:42Speaker 12: into January. It just depends how we go. To be honest,
- 28:48Speaker 12: that's as far as I planned. I can see that
- 28:53Speaker 12: far ahead. I just want to see how those go.
- 28:55Speaker 12: how those short stories are received, and then think about, well,
- 28:58Speaker 12: is there anything else I want to do? And just
- 29:01Speaker 12: take it from there.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Definitely. What's the best way for people to find the book?
- 29:06Speaker 1: Should they go on Amazon?
- 29:07Speaker 4: Just go onto Amazon.
- 29:08Speaker 12: It's on all the Amazon sites,. co. uk,. fr,. com.
- 29:13Speaker 1: It's there.
- 29:14Speaker 12: Just put in What Monsters Do. It comes back. It's
- 29:19Speaker 12: available on paperback. It's available on Kindle. I'm working with
- 29:24Speaker 12: Smashwords at the moment to get it out onto iBooks
- 29:27Speaker 12: and Barnes & Noble and all that. But that's going
- 29:29Speaker 12: to take a few weeks for that process to work through.
- 29:32Speaker 12: And yes, eventually it'll be available in your local books,
- 29:35Speaker 12: order to order through your local box. But Amazon is
- 29:38Speaker 12: going to be the easiest way to do it.
- 29:39Speaker 1: At the moment definitely tell everybody to go check it out.
- 29:45Speaker 9: As far as the Hellraiser movies the first couple were
- 29:47Speaker 9: really good oh by the time I got to the
- 29:49Speaker 9: end it was just painful like Hellraiser 15 I've There's
- 29:53Speaker 9: another one, but it's not even got Doug Bradley in it.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Yeah, that new one. I looked at the box. I
- 29:56Speaker 1: was like, who is that? Why would you do a
- 29:58Speaker 1: Hellraiser movie without Doug Bradley? It's like doing a Nightmare
- 30:02Speaker 1: on Elm Street without Robert Englund.
- 30:04Speaker 6: Oh, wait.
- 30:05Speaker 9: Because that went over so well.
- 30:06Speaker 1: That was such a good idea. So, yeah, thank you
- 30:09Speaker 1: to Nicholas. He was awesome. And, yeah, he's really fun, too.
- 30:13Speaker 1: I'd like to get him and have him sit down
- 30:14Speaker 1: with us and talk movies sometime. So we'll get that
- 30:17Speaker 1: in the works, too, so.
- 30:20Speaker 9: All right.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Anything else you need to discuss in this Halloween retrospective
- 30:25Speaker 1: of this year?
- 30:27Speaker 9: I kind of wanted to punch that kid in the face.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Which kid?
- 30:30Speaker 9: Fucking Carl.
- 30:31Speaker 1: Carl didn't do it. I'm kind of wondering what his
- 30:34Speaker 1: experience is like at these, because it's become a running joke.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Stay in the house, Carl. Why aren't you in the
- 30:41Speaker 1: fucking house?
- 30:41Speaker 9: There's even a song about it. It's an awesome song,
- 30:44Speaker 9: by the way.
- 30:45Speaker 1: So it's like, I wonder what, because everybody else, it
- 30:48Speaker 1: can be in a kid. Like, all the adults, you know,
- 30:50Speaker 1: they can kind of handle it. But he's a little kid. Like,
- 30:52Speaker 1: being thrown in the middle of this, it's probably overwhelming anyway.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Then the fact that everybody there, within the context of
- 30:57Speaker 1: the show, kind of hates you. Like, you've gotten everybody
- 31:01Speaker 1: in trouble for many seasons now. Especially this last one.
- 31:05Speaker 1: He screwed up everything.
- 31:06Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 31:07Speaker 1: They all. Dale got killed because of you. I hope
- 31:10Speaker 1: you're happy, Carl.
- 31:10Speaker 9: Well, Dale was getting pretty annoying by then.
- 31:12Speaker 1: Yeah, Dale was kind of annoying.
- 31:13Speaker 9: Self-righteous little bastard.
- 31:15Speaker 1: I mean, you kind of needed him within the dynamic
- 31:18Speaker 1: of the show. He's the voice of reason, but it'll
- 31:20Speaker 1: be interesting this next season now that they've killed the
- 31:22Speaker 1: voice of reason.
- 31:23Speaker 9: Actually, I think that Daryl is the voice of reason.
- 31:26Speaker 9: He is the only logical and sane.
- 31:27Speaker 1: He's the voice of logic. That's the only difference.
- 31:31Speaker 9: I mean, seriously, I would trust Daryl to keep me
- 31:35Speaker 9: alive out of all those people. I don't trust any
- 31:36Speaker 9: of the rest of them.
- 31:37Speaker 1: That's true. Oh, no, I don't mind the sheriff.
- 31:41Speaker 9: Rick.
- 31:42Speaker 1: Rick's a cool dude.
- 31:43Speaker 4: I like Rick.
- 31:44Speaker 1: I'm sticking with Rick. And Daryl.
- 31:47Speaker 9: No, I'd take Daryl.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Well, Daryl, you know, you keep Daryl. They're hanging out together,
- 31:50Speaker 1: so you keep those two together. The rest of the people, whatever.
- 31:53Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 31:54Speaker 1: Especially, what's the mom's name? She's annoying.
- 31:58Speaker 2: Lori.
- 31:59Speaker 1: Lori needs to hurry up and get eaten or something.
- 32:01Speaker 1: She's annoying.
- 32:02Speaker 9: She needs to make sure Carl stays in the fucking house.
- 32:04Speaker 1: She's not doing a good mom job because she ain't
- 32:07Speaker 1: watching that kid at all.
- 32:08Speaker 9: No, she's not. But anyways, yeah, I mean, we've walked
- 32:12Speaker 9: around a couple times at the convention. It's been pretty fantastic.
- 32:14Speaker 9: I haven't actually punched anybody in the face yet.
- 32:18Speaker 1: That's always a danger at these with Misty.
- 32:21Speaker 9: I came pretty close, you know. I keep waiting for those, like,
- 32:24Speaker 9: jackass-y people, like the people that work for, like, the
- 32:26Speaker 9: haunted houses or whatever, and, like, the jump of people,
- 32:29Speaker 9: you know, and shit like that.
- 32:32Speaker 1: She was doing that, some idiot walking around screaming.
- 32:34Speaker 9: I saw like three or four of them doing it,
- 32:36Speaker 9: and I just kept waiting. I guess I don't look
- 32:38Speaker 9: inviting enough for that to happen.
- 32:40Speaker 1: They know you're going to punch them in the face.
- 32:42Speaker 9: Dude, for serious.
- 32:42Speaker 7: You've got to make eye contact with them.
- 32:47Speaker 9: I do, but it's usually a glare that warns of
- 32:50Speaker 9: the intent, you know.
- 32:51Speaker 1: The look of doom.
- 32:53Speaker 9: The look of, if you do that, I will punch you.
- 32:57Speaker 9: Think it through.
- 33:01Speaker 1: All right, so with that, I think we should take
- 33:03Speaker 1: a break here, and when we come back, we will
- 33:04Speaker 1: get into this week's movie.
- 33:06Speaker 9: Yay!
- 33:12Speaker 6: Trick-or-treat, trick-or-treat, trick-or-treat for Halloween. Better give a treat that's
- 33:18Speaker 6: good to eat if you want to keep life serene.

- 33:24Speaker 4: The whole night through.
- 33:26Speaker 6: Little scallow wags with fiendish gags can make it tough
- 33:30Speaker 6: on you.
- 33:30Speaker 5: So when goose and goblins by the score ring.
- 33:34Speaker 3: The bell on your front door, better.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Not be stingy or your.

- 36:50Speaker 1: Turns out you're a tweeter.
- 36:52Speaker 8: Sofa Theater.
- 36:55Speaker 7: What the hell's his problem?
- 36:57Speaker 1: Just get out of his way, Jerry!
- 37:00Speaker 9: Let him pass you, Jerry!
- 37:01Speaker 1: Look at what he's doing!
- 37:12Speaker 6: You're on me!
- 37:12Speaker 8: Get off the road and let him pass you! He's nuts!
- 37:19Speaker 2: I know he's nuts! Pull over!
- 37:23Speaker 8: Pull over!
- 37:26Speaker 2: Let him fucking pass you!
- 37:27Speaker 3: I'm trying!
- 37:43Speaker 2: Jesus.
- 37:45Speaker 9: Shit.
- 37:46Speaker 2: What the hell was his problem?
- 37:49Speaker 7: My first guess, inbreeding!
- 37:57Speaker 8: I don't care what the weatherman says when the weatherman
- 37:59Speaker 8: says it's raining. You'll never hear me complaining. I'm certain
- 38:04Speaker 8: the sun will shine.
- 38:06Speaker 6: I don't care how the weathervane points when the weathervane
- 38:08Speaker 6: points to gloomy. You gotta be sunny to me when
- 38:12Speaker 6: your eyes look into mine.
- 38:14Speaker 8: Jeepers, creepers, where'd you get those creepers? Jeepers, creepers. Where'd
- 38:22Speaker 8: you get those eyes?
- 38:23Speaker 9: Gosh, y'all get up.
- 38:26Speaker 1: How'd you get.
- 38:27Speaker 5: So lit up?
- 38:28Speaker 4: Gosh, y'all get up.
- 38:30Speaker 10: How'd you get that size?
- 38:32Speaker 1: Golly gee. When you turn those heaters on.
- 38:37Speaker 8: Oh, it's me.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Got to put my heaters on. Jeepers, Jeepers.
- 38:44Speaker 8: All right, we are back.
- 38:55Speaker 1: And it is time for Movie Meltdown Sofa Theater. This
- 38:58Speaker 1: week's Sofa Theater feature is Jeepers Creepers. The year is 2001.
- 39:03Speaker 1: The director, the notorious Victor Sala, and the plot, according
- 39:08Speaker 1: to IMDb, A brother and sister driving home for spring
- 39:12Speaker 1: break encounter a flesh-eating creature in the isolated countryside that
- 39:16Speaker 1: is on the last day of its ritualistic eating spree. So,
- 39:21Speaker 1: with that, spoiler alert.
- 39:24Speaker 9: Is it supposed to be its last day? Because the
- 39:27Speaker 9: sequel is supposed to take place. four days later on
- 39:31Speaker 9: the last day of its reading.
- 39:33Speaker 1: You also realize this is IMDb, which is never really
- 39:36Speaker 1: accurate with their descriptions. So before we get into ours,
- 39:41Speaker 1: you know who else we saw today? Jonathan Brick, the Creeper.
- 39:46Speaker 9: Hells yes.
- 39:47Speaker 1: So we will open up the old vaults here. and
- 39:51Speaker 1: see what Jonathan has to say about his time with
- 39:55Speaker 1: the Creeper. I guess first off, what's the process like
- 40:01Speaker 1: going into the makeup?
- 40:03Speaker 10: Oh, my God.
- 40:04Speaker 1: That's a good question.
- 40:05Speaker 11: Well, most days of makeup takes about five hours. The
- 40:11Speaker 11: days when I have the open face, you know, with
- 40:13Speaker 11: the fingers moving, that takes about seven, substantially longer. So
- 40:19Speaker 11: the process is, and you can't sleep, you can't do
- 40:21Speaker 11: anything else, because it's kind of interactive. You kind of
- 40:23Speaker 11: have to help the makeup artist put it on you.
- 40:26Speaker 11: So I get to the set around 2 o'clock in
- 40:30Speaker 11: the afternoon and start.
- 40:32Speaker 1: The layering process.
- 40:33Speaker 11: And about five hours later, I'm done and ready to
- 40:36Speaker 11: get up, and it's getting dark, and I'm ready to shoot.
- 40:38Speaker 11: And I go to work for 10, 12 hours, and
- 40:41Speaker 11: it takes another hour to get it off.
- 40:42Speaker 1: It makes for a pretty long day. That's crazy. As
- 40:45Speaker 1: far as just.
- 40:48Speaker 1: Any stories from the shoot that you remember that are
- 40:50Speaker 1: really memorable?
- 40:51Speaker 11: Oh, you know, well, the first movie was just painful
- 40:55Speaker 11: to shoot because we were shooting it in August in Florida. Naturally,
- 40:59Speaker 11: the hottest place in the country, the hottest month of
- 41:01Speaker 11: the year, and I'm encased in latex, you know. So
- 41:05Speaker 11: the first one was just, I remember a lot of
- 41:06Speaker 11: pain on that one, you know. And I remember getting
- 41:10Speaker 11: bit by mosquitoes. The only part of my body that's
- 41:13Speaker 11: exposed is my eyes. and the inside of my nose
- 41:18Speaker 11: and the inside of my mouth. Well, in the first film,
- 41:22Speaker 11: on the extreme close-ups, I had to wear cataract contact lenses,
- 41:26Speaker 11: and they made me completely blind. So one particular night,
- 41:30Speaker 11: we're shooting out in the swamp, and I'm laying on
- 41:33Speaker 11: the ground, and the man-eater mosquitoes come in, but I
- 41:37Speaker 11: can't see anything. So I just hear them buzzing around.
- 41:41Speaker 11: I know they're buzzing around my face, and then I
- 41:43Speaker 11: start to feel them. They're so bloodthirsty. They're biting the
- 41:46Speaker 11: inside of my eyelids because that's the only thing they
- 41:49Speaker 11: can get to.
- 41:50Speaker 4: It was just brutal.
- 41:51Speaker 11: Anyway, that wasn't a fun story. It's a painful story,
- 41:53Speaker 11: but nevertheless, there it is.
- 41:59Speaker 9: Mosquitoes are assholes.
- 42:00Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty much. Mosquitoes. Nobody likes them.
- 42:04Speaker 9: I'd put them in faces if they were big enough.
- 42:06Speaker 9: I'm really glad they're not big enough because that would
- 42:08Speaker 9: be frightening.
- 42:10Speaker 1: Mansquito. That's the movie for you.
- 42:12Speaker 9: I love the hell out of Mansquito. It's got corn
- 42:14Speaker 9: nemics on it. Shut up and screw you guys.
- 42:16Speaker 1: Oh, but that was not. That was Jonathan. So thank
- 42:19Speaker 1: you to Jonathan for hanging out momentarily and giving us
- 42:22Speaker 1: his little rundown on Jeepers Creepers. So we've gotten his
- 42:25Speaker 1: take on it. Where would you guys like to begin?
- 42:29Speaker 9: How excited were you, boyfriend, when you first heard we
- 42:30Speaker 9: were going to watch this movie?
- 42:32Speaker 7: Oh, I was tons of excited.
- 42:34Speaker 1: I kind of knew that when we picked it.
- 42:36Speaker 7: I hated this movie when I saw it in the theater.
- 42:39Speaker 7: And it's not so much the movie itself, um, It's
- 42:45Speaker 7: just that kid. I want to punch that kid in
- 42:48Speaker 7: the face. I want to punch both of him and
- 42:50Speaker 7: his sister in the face.
- 42:51Speaker 1: Justin Law.
- 42:52Speaker 9: She's not as bad.
- 42:53Speaker 7: She's, yeah, I mean, she's... Her voice starts grating on
- 42:56Speaker 7: my fucking nerves like knives after a while, and I
- 42:59Speaker 7: want her to shut the fuck.
- 43:00Speaker 9: Up, too.
- 43:02Speaker 1: She's got an interesting style. I thought I wasn't going
- 43:04Speaker 1: to like her, but as you get into it, I
- 43:06Speaker 1: think you just get used to it, I guess. I
- 43:08Speaker 1: don't know.
- 43:09Speaker 7: There's too much yelling and too much not knowing what
- 43:11Speaker 7: the hell's going on and too much panicking and... Too
- 43:13Speaker 7: much falling apart, and it just drives me up the wall.
- 43:17Speaker 7: Other than that, I mean, the demon itself was pretty cool.
- 43:22Speaker 7: I liked that. Still was kind of confused, the fact
- 43:25Speaker 7: that if he could fly, why is he driving around
- 43:27Speaker 7: in an old truck?
- 43:29Speaker 1: Because it makes that creepy.
- 43:31Speaker 7: Well, yeah, that, and if he's a demon, he must
- 43:33Speaker 7: be some kind of hot-riding demon, because he's definitely souped
- 43:37Speaker 7: that truck up. It kind of reminded me a little
- 43:38Speaker 7: bit of Duel, in a way, but.
- 43:40Speaker 1: That's what I was thinking as I watched it, and
- 43:42Speaker 1: I think the director even said, like, when he shot it,
- 43:44Speaker 1: he didn't realize it, but he was watching the dailies back,
- 43:47Speaker 1: and he's like, oh, my God, I'm making Duel. Yeah,
- 43:49Speaker 1: pretty much.
- 43:50Speaker 9: I think the main reason for the truck was they
- 43:52Speaker 9: explained it in the movie that he had to scare them.
- 43:55Speaker 9: He had to terrify them, and that was part of
- 43:57Speaker 9: the way that he would terrify them so that he
- 43:59Speaker 9: could smell them.
- 44:01Speaker 7: Yeah, because flying down on them out of the middle
- 44:05Speaker 7: of nowhere is not going to scare them near as
- 44:06Speaker 7: much as an old dirty truck.
- 44:08Speaker 9: It might confuse them.
- 44:10Speaker 7: He ain't the fucking tooth fairy. It's not like he's going, oh,
- 44:14Speaker 7: look at that guy. I wonder what he's here for.
- 44:16Speaker 2: He also needed something to which he could affix his
- 44:19Speaker 2: clever vanity plate.
- 44:20Speaker 7: Oh, yes, that's right. He had vanity plates made. So
- 44:23Speaker 7: apparently he stood in line at the DMV and paid
- 44:25Speaker 7: his extra $ 30 for his vanity plate. It was a
- 44:28Speaker 7: good thing nobody else had that plate already taken.
- 44:31Speaker 1: He just went to the flea market and got one
- 44:33Speaker 1: of those fake ones made up.
- 44:34Speaker 9: He can do most of that shit online now, so
- 44:36Speaker 9: maybe he's got an internet and he does it at home.
- 44:39Speaker 1: I would think that guy's got internet at the church.
- 44:41Speaker 7: Well, Eyeball Eater was taken, so he had to go
- 44:43Speaker 7: for the beaten, whatever, license plate.
- 44:49Speaker 1: I think that... Again, I think that's one of the things.
- 44:52Speaker 1: There's a lot of things that work in this, and
- 44:53Speaker 1: then there's things that don't. And I think the truck
- 44:55Speaker 1: part kind of works. Again, it's very reminiscent of Duel,
- 44:58Speaker 1: but maybe it's just because that really is a creepy truck.
- 45:03Speaker 1: And it does look kind of badass. And they did
- 45:06Speaker 1: actually shoot it slamming into that car. And they said
- 45:09Speaker 1: it tore the hell out of it.
- 45:10Speaker 2: And I did like the way that it first appeared
- 45:12Speaker 2: in the film, too. I thought the introduction of the
- 45:14Speaker 2: truck through the back window was pretty effective. It was
- 45:18Speaker 2: sort of like that scene in Bird's.
- 45:20Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 45:21Speaker 2: Or the sigh of evil, whichever you wish.
- 45:23Speaker 1: It came out of nowhere. I do like that the,
- 45:26Speaker 1: because they never really went into that, that the motorhome
- 45:29Speaker 1: behind them just got the hell out of the way,
- 45:31Speaker 1: just turned off because, like, they knew to steer clear
- 45:35Speaker 1: of that. So, I mean, maybe it is one of
- 45:37Speaker 1: those that everybody around there just kind of knows, stay
- 45:39Speaker 1: away from that truck.
- 45:41Speaker 9: Oh, no. I was kind of aggravated that the bitch
- 45:42Speaker 9: couldn't drive her own car properly.
- 45:44Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't buy the fact that she would own
- 45:46Speaker 7: that car because she's too much of a ditz. She
- 45:49Speaker 7: can't drive her own damn car. She can't drive a
- 45:51Speaker 7: stick shift, much less own that car.
- 45:53Speaker 1: Maybe Mr. Pollack's eye got it for her.
- 45:55Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 45:56Speaker 7: I don't buy that either.
- 45:57Speaker 2: I liked that underdeveloped character that somehow also, like that
- 46:02Speaker 2: scene where he says, Where there's like, what happened between you?
- 46:04Speaker 2: What did he do? And then he says, beating you?
- 46:07Speaker 2: And then she gets all quiet and you're like, oh wait,
- 46:09Speaker 2: is this going to go someplace? And then it never
- 46:10Speaker 2: goes anywhere ever.
- 46:12Speaker 1: It was one of those, I think they were talking about,
- 46:14Speaker 1: she was working that kind of stuff in. She was
- 46:17Speaker 1: talking about how much personal research she did as to
- 46:21Speaker 1: how damaged this character was all on her own before
- 46:24Speaker 1: this story starts. Some of which, I guess, has to
- 46:26Speaker 1: do with Pali Sai potentially, possibly beating her. I don't know,
- 46:30Speaker 1: but Is.
- 46:32Speaker 9: It going to be the spinoff movie? Is it going
- 46:33Speaker 9: to be the prequel, the Poli-Sci beating Trish movie?
- 46:38Speaker 1: This doesn't sound good at all. I don't like this movie.
- 46:42Speaker 9: It'll end with the Creeper eating them.
- 46:44Speaker 8: What's he doing?
- 46:45Speaker 3: What the hell is that? What the hell was he doing?
- 47:07Speaker 3: He dumped something down that pipe. Wrapped in a sheet.
- 47:12Speaker 14: Wrapped and roped in a sheet?
- 47:14Speaker 3: Wrapped and roped in a sheet with red stains on it.
- 47:18Speaker 2: Just get us out of here.
- 47:20Speaker 7: Grab my cell phone.
- 47:21Speaker 9: Where?
- 47:21Speaker 14: It's in the gym bag. jesus oh you gotta be
- 47:36Speaker 14: kidding me.
- 47:39Speaker 1: If we're doing stuff that works and stuff that i
- 47:41Speaker 1: think was probably one of the most effective scenes in
- 47:45Speaker 1: the movie is just that shot as they drive by
- 47:48Speaker 1: with him throwing stuff like when he stops and looks
- 47:51Speaker 1: at him is that creepy moment of oh shit it's
- 47:55Speaker 1: kind of that same feeling you get when you're watching
- 47:57Speaker 1: the the the special Bigfoot film, and Bigfoot, for that second,
- 48:01Speaker 1: stops and looks at you. You know, he could just
- 48:04Speaker 1: be walking by, but when he stops and looks at you,
- 48:06Speaker 1: you're like, oh, shit. I think he saw me. You
- 48:08Speaker 1: kind of get that with the Creeper. You're watching him,
- 48:11Speaker 1: you're watching him, and it's that very end part where
- 48:13Speaker 1: he stops and just looks dead at him. I don't know.
- 48:16Speaker 1: It's effective. I mean, I would wave.
- 48:18Speaker 2: It's okay, dude.
- 48:19Speaker 1: We didn't see anything.
- 48:20Speaker 7: Didn't see nothing.
- 48:21Speaker 1: Keep dumping bodies. I mean, whatever.
- 48:23Speaker 9: I knew it would piss me off.
- 48:26Speaker 4: What?
- 48:26Speaker 9: Let's go look in the pipe.
- 48:28Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 48:29Speaker 9: Let's go have a little look-see.
- 48:30Speaker 1: Well, my problem before that was, what church has a
- 48:33Speaker 1: giant pipe running down the front? Like, what is that
- 48:36Speaker 1: pipe in any practical, other than a place to dump
- 48:39Speaker 1: your bodies?
- 48:39Speaker 9: Maybe the creeper installed it himself.
- 48:41Speaker 1: Maybe he installed it.
- 48:42Speaker 9: Maybe he was doing some home modifications.
- 48:43Speaker 1: But again, why would you put a giant pipe? Lucy
- 48:46Speaker 1: wants to talk.
- 48:46Speaker 9: Hold on.
- 48:48Speaker 1: I'm finished. Am I bringing the rest of this point up?
- 48:51Speaker 1: I was trying to finish mine and hand it to her. So,
- 48:54Speaker 1: but why would you put a giant, but like if
- 48:56Speaker 1: he's dumping bodies there, isn't it really obvious where you
- 48:58Speaker 1: would be dumping the bodies? This giant pipe you install?
- 49:01Speaker 7: No, it's for drainage.
- 49:02Speaker 1: Drainage. I didn't see any like.
- 49:05Speaker 7: It's like three or four feet off the ground.
- 49:06Speaker 1: I didn't see gutters running to it. I don't know
- 49:08Speaker 1: about this.
- 49:08Speaker 7: It floods in that area.
- 49:10Speaker 1: It's Florida.
- 49:11Speaker 7: It's swampy.
- 49:12Speaker 1: I don't know. I thought that was just weird. It's
- 49:14Speaker 1: effective for that second, but then if you stop and
- 49:16Speaker 1: think about it, it makes no damn sense.
- 49:17Speaker 2: Are you handing it to me now?
- 49:19Speaker 9: I still.
- 49:20Speaker 2: I've already forgotten what I was going to say. Thank you, Misty.
- 49:23Speaker 2: I appreciate you having my back. But speaking to the pipe,
- 49:26Speaker 2: I didn't understand how all of the bodies had such
- 49:29Speaker 2: rolling capacity. Like, he went down it, and he just
- 49:32Speaker 2: went thud on his back, and you could see him
- 49:34Speaker 2: from the top. I don't understand why it just wouldn't
- 49:36Speaker 2: have piled up bodies.
- 49:37Speaker 7: Well, they were bundled up, you see.
- 49:39Speaker 2: Oh, for maximum rolling?
- 49:40Speaker 7: Yeah, when you're rolling down a hill, they were bundled up.
- 49:43Speaker 7: Their arms were on the side, so there's not a
- 49:44Speaker 7: lot of flailing.
- 49:45Speaker 2: Okay. Then actually, no, I'm really cool with the movie.
- 49:47Speaker 2: It seems like a really realistic depiction of life in
- 49:49Speaker 2: the South.
- 49:50Speaker 9: Well, the guy was still alive when he was wrapped up.
- 49:52Speaker 9: Maybe he inched his way over there.
- 49:53Speaker 1: But there were other bodies, too. He pushed them.
- 49:56Speaker 9: They all rolled.
- 49:57Speaker 1: I'm picturing him doing a little inchworm thing across the floor.
- 50:01Speaker 1: It's kind of fun.
- 50:01Speaker 7: Either that, or it's like that perpetual motion thing with
- 50:04Speaker 7: the balls, because one of them slides down and hits
- 50:08Speaker 7: the whole row of them, and then that last one
- 50:09Speaker 7: kind of rolls off, you know, and as they come down.
- 50:12Speaker 6: They shoot.
- 50:13Speaker 7: You know, and It's like a trick shot.
- 50:15Speaker 1: It's like croquet?
- 50:16Speaker 7: Yeah, it's like croquet.
- 50:18Speaker 2: Yeah, it kind of bothered me, like, speaking to that
- 50:20Speaker 2: part where you're like, why are they doing this? And
- 50:22Speaker 2: then they were like, no, it's okay, because we're going
- 50:24Speaker 2: to have this metacinematic moment where we're going to say, hey,
- 50:27Speaker 2: we hate it when characters do this in a movie,
- 50:29Speaker 2: and then we'll acknowledge that we're aware of it, and
- 50:31Speaker 2: then it'll be okay. And it's just like, no, it's
- 50:33Speaker 2: still not okay.
- 50:35Speaker 1: That part killed me. The mentioning, I mean, there's so
- 50:38Speaker 1: few movies that can do that. I'm like, you're not Scream.
- 50:41Speaker 1: You can't, like, there's only a few movies that it
- 50:43Speaker 1: can acknowledge, this is what happens in movies, and we're
- 50:46Speaker 1: in a movie, you know? There's a few that can
- 50:49Speaker 1: structure it that it doesn't seem very forced, and that
- 50:52Speaker 1: one seemed very forced.
- 50:53Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 50:53Speaker 7: I would have punched him in the face.
- 50:55Speaker 11: Stupid ass.
- 50:56Speaker 7: I want to look back at that. What the fuck's
- 50:57Speaker 7: wrong with you? You would have got left there. You
- 51:02Speaker 7: were walking home.
- 51:05Speaker 2: And for him to want to go back, like, I
- 51:06Speaker 2: felt like that was something they could, like, if he'd
- 51:08Speaker 2: been like, I think I saw that body move or something.
- 51:10Speaker 2: But no, it's just like, what if it's a lie? Yeah.
- 51:15Speaker 1: He doesn't seem super heroic. I don't know why this
- 51:17Speaker 1: moment he decided to be.
- 51:19Speaker 7: What if it was you? I wouldn't be in that situation.
- 51:22Speaker 7: So fuck you. Don't try to play that.
- 51:23Speaker 1: I'd hope somebody goes for the police at this point.
- 51:25Speaker 1: That's what I would have said.
- 51:27Speaker 9: I'm like, well, let's just keep on going. We'll get
- 51:28Speaker 9: to the police. Because I mean, bye. not going to
- 51:32Speaker 9: the police first, and going investigating, they fucked the entire
- 51:35Speaker 9: thing up.
- 51:35Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 51:36Speaker 9: Spoiler alert, because by the time they told the police,
- 51:38Speaker 9: the guy already knew they were there, and he.
- 51:41Speaker 7: Burned the place down.
- 51:42Speaker 9: Yeah, I was going to say... Exposed of evidence, but
- 51:46Speaker 9: you done gave them the whole thing.
- 51:47Speaker 1: Well, we already threw out the spoiler. It's 2001, and
- 51:51Speaker 1: you should have seen this.
- 51:52Speaker 9: Yeah, I'm sorry, but if it's 2001 and you haven't
- 51:54Speaker 9: seen it yet and you're worried about spoiler alerts, then.
- 51:57Speaker 2: Yeah, and then they got that poor cop killed who
- 52:01Speaker 2: may or may not have been a romantic interest in
- 52:04Speaker 2: another strange subplot that started and went nowhere.
- 52:07Speaker 7: Because she kind of liked him? No, he looked like
- 52:09Speaker 7: a strip of cop.
- 52:11Speaker 1: Well, then when you get that moment of, I think
- 52:15Speaker 1: we should go back. I think we should see. At
- 52:18Speaker 1: that point, I kind of went, does anybody else hear
- 52:20Speaker 1: the Scooby-Doo theme kicking in? It just seemed like these
- 52:24Speaker 1: kids are going to go investigate a mystery. I was
- 52:26Speaker 1: just like, what?
- 52:31Speaker 2: Were there rats in that?
- 52:33Speaker 1: Anyway, never mind. I mean, how did they give that, like,
- 52:36Speaker 1: seven-foot jump? Two more rats?
- 52:39Speaker 2: Ladder rats?
- 52:39Speaker 9: They had a ladder.
- 52:40Speaker 7: No, they constructed a ladder.
- 52:42Speaker 1: Out of dead bodies?
- 52:43Speaker 7: Well, no, you saw all that crap that was laying
- 52:44Speaker 7: around in there, like bottles and jars and stuff and sticks.
- 52:48Speaker 7: They made a ladder.
- 52:49Speaker 9: They MacGyvered that shit?
- 52:52Speaker 1: Rats are pretty ingenious.
- 52:53Speaker 7: They're very ingenious.
- 52:56Speaker 11: They're rats.
- 52:58Speaker 1: So then, okay, he ends up down there because he's
- 53:01Speaker 1: freaking out and he's kicking his feet like he's a
- 53:03Speaker 1: little girl. and slides down there.
- 53:06Speaker 9: That's the thing.
- 53:06Speaker 1: I was like, okay, you made them go back. You
- 53:09Speaker 1: climbed in the pipe. You made her hold your feet
- 53:11Speaker 1: while you climbed in the pipe.
- 53:13Speaker 9: And then you flailed like a bitch.
- 53:14Speaker 1: You flailed like a bitch, fall down there, and then
- 53:16Speaker 1: yell at her for dropping you.
- 53:18Speaker 2: Okay, I actually did like that moment. And no, just
- 53:21Speaker 2: in terms of brother-sister dynamics, I actually kind of liked
- 53:24Speaker 2: all the stuff that happened.
- 53:25Speaker 9: At that point, I was like, oh my God, I'm
- 53:26Speaker 9: so fucking glad I don't have a brother because I
- 53:28Speaker 9: would fucking kill him by now because they seem really
- 53:30Speaker 9: fucking obnoxious.
- 53:31Speaker 1: That part was probably realistic just because it sort of
- 53:34Speaker 1: had that, you know, brother-sister interaction. They did have that. Like,
- 53:39Speaker 1: it was annoying in that first 20 minutes when they
- 53:42Speaker 1: set that up, but they set up pretty realistically. Like,
- 53:44Speaker 1: they really did kind of seem like they could have
- 53:47Speaker 1: been brother and sister, and they did annoy each other
- 53:49Speaker 1: pretty convincingly.
- 53:50Speaker 9: They annoyed me.
- 53:51Speaker 1: Well, yeah, they were convincingly. They were annoying the audience
- 53:54Speaker 1: as well as the downside, I guess, but it did
- 53:56Speaker 1: come off convincingly. So how about the birds?
- 54:02Speaker 9: Fucking birds. I hate birds.
- 54:04Speaker 1: But they were laughing birds.
- 54:06Speaker 6: I like crows.
- 54:07Speaker 3: They're okay.
- 54:08Speaker 1: They were laughing at you.
- 54:09Speaker 7: I just don't like mocking birds that sit above the
- 54:11Speaker 7: tree and shit on my car.
- 54:13Speaker 4: Old fucking bastards.
- 54:16Speaker 3: Oh, Lord.
- 54:17Speaker 9: Apparently indestructible, too, because little BBs don't take them out.
- 54:20Speaker 7: I'm going to start breaking out the gun next.
- 54:23Speaker 2: I like the birds, but not as near as much
- 54:24Speaker 2: as I like the cats. The cats were my favorite
- 54:26Speaker 2: of the whole film.
- 54:27Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, the cats. And Crazy Cat Lady.
- 54:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 54:29Speaker 1: Eileen Brenner.
- 54:31Speaker 9: Beautiful.
- 54:32Speaker 1: Yeah, that's almost a name. They sort of got a
- 54:35Speaker 1: recognizable actress to come in and be Crazy Old Cat Lady.
- 54:39Speaker 2: Yeah, and I like that you could just recognize her
- 54:40Speaker 2: from her voice, too.
- 54:42Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty much. So we get the villain in this
- 54:47Speaker 1: is almost like three stages. He's like the... evil truck
- 54:51Speaker 1: for a while and then he becomes sort of like
- 54:53Speaker 1: crazy serial killer dude in the middle section there so
- 54:56Speaker 1: it's like i don't know what were your thoughts in
- 54:58Speaker 1: that that middle area where he's just sort of a
- 55:00Speaker 1: crazy killer guy that we assume.
- 55:03Speaker 7: He's too crazy to be a serial killer.
- 55:06Speaker 1: He's got a whole little workshop down there and a
- 55:09Speaker 1: hell of a lot of dead body.
- 55:11Speaker 7: Yeah he's too crazy he needs to be more subtle
- 55:14Speaker 7: he needs to be mowing people's.
- 55:15Speaker 1: Yards like our serial killer yeah You'll have to go
- 55:20Speaker 1: back a few episodes to hear that one. If you're
- 55:21Speaker 1: not familiar with that, yeah, there's a whole backstory there.
- 55:25Speaker 1: Go back to the Wonderfest episode.
- 55:27Speaker 9: I don't know. I guess it crosses over into that.
- 55:32Speaker 9: I guess because I like things that are kind of believable.
- 55:36Speaker 9: to some degree and I guess it's more scary to
- 55:39Speaker 9: me when it's just you're out driving and somebody just
- 55:41Speaker 9: some crazy guy is coming after you and you know
- 55:44Speaker 9: they're just insane and then you cross over into that
- 55:46Speaker 9: oh it's some mythical being.
- 55:48Speaker 7: Yeah it's not scary to me because I know I
- 55:50Speaker 7: can just put a bullet in their head and it'll.
- 55:51Speaker 1: Be over with but I think again I think that's
- 55:54Speaker 1: why that shot at the beginning works so good because
- 55:56Speaker 1: you get that shot of him looking at you And
- 55:58Speaker 1: then he just immediately gets in the truck and you've
- 56:00Speaker 1: seen that truck. It's like, he's going to catch you.
- 56:02Speaker 1: It's like, what the fuck do you do now? It's like,
- 56:05Speaker 1: it is an effective moment.
- 56:06Speaker 9: That's something that could happen to you. You know, you
- 56:09Speaker 9: could get chased by a serial killer. You're not going
- 56:11Speaker 9: to get chased by some face eaten wing man.
- 56:15Speaker 1: You don't know.
- 56:15Speaker 9: I'm pretty sure. Yeah.
- 56:17Speaker 2: It did kind of feel like they were like sort
- 56:19Speaker 2: of shooting it as they wrote it. Like, okay, here, well,
- 56:22Speaker 2: we wrote this or, okay.
- 56:24Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 56:25Speaker 2: More to the point. Um, like, it's like, they were like, okay,
- 56:27Speaker 2: well now we'll just run over him a lot. Well, wait,
- 56:29Speaker 2: but he has to come back. They can't come back
- 56:30Speaker 2: from that. Well, what if he's like a mystical creature? Like,
- 56:33Speaker 2: I don't know. I just felt, I don't know.
- 56:36Speaker 9: Were they, were they winging it?
- 56:37Speaker 1: Oh, lame.
- 56:40Speaker 2: He had already shown his wings at that point.
- 56:44Speaker 1: They, that, I mean, some of that is true. Cause
- 56:46Speaker 1: I was watching where a bell was ringing. That's a
- 56:52Speaker 1: different holiday special.
- 56:53Speaker 9: Clients did not end well.
- 56:56Speaker 1: So I think they had actually, I saw that he
- 56:59Speaker 1: did bring up that is a little bit true because
- 57:01Speaker 1: I think in the original way they wrote it, you
- 57:03Speaker 1: weren't supposed to see him in his true form, wings
- 57:06Speaker 1: and all until the last scene. And then they did
- 57:09Speaker 1: the full makeup for it and the director... I'm like, oh, shit,
- 57:13Speaker 1: we already had it on there. Well, no, he saw
- 57:15Speaker 1: it and really liked it. He was like, oh, that's cool.
- 57:16Speaker 1: I don't want to wait until the end. I want
- 57:19Speaker 1: you to be able to see the monster throughout the movie.
- 57:21Speaker 1: So they did sort of adjust it in there a
- 57:24Speaker 1: lot sooner into the plot than originally planned. I know that. Well,
- 57:27Speaker 1: the monster was good.
- 57:28Speaker 7: I liked the effects on that part. I mean, he
- 57:30Speaker 7: looked scary. He looked good, either as crazy serial killer
- 57:36Speaker 7: guy in a trench coat.
- 57:38Speaker 9: Or.
- 57:39Speaker 7: wing demon creature whatever it is he's playing you know
- 57:43Speaker 7: either way the the effects on it looked good um.
- 57:46Speaker 1: That's one thing i'll give i mean it as it
- 57:48Speaker 1: goes on i don't know there are sort of plot
- 57:50Speaker 1: issues but just for creature design like i really have
- 57:54Speaker 1: to give him credit for coming up with a pretty
- 57:56Speaker 1: cool creature and doing a great makeup job.
- 57:58Speaker 7: Pretty original at that yeah i mean after a while
- 58:01Speaker 7: you just start hitting on the same characters that sort
- 58:03Speaker 7: of like well, that's just this character, except for he's
- 58:06Speaker 7: got a horn here.
- 58:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean.
- 58:08Speaker 7: Oh, that's not a horn.
- 58:10Speaker 1: The face looks a little closer to some other ones,
- 58:12Speaker 1: but the body is pretty cool. Yeah, it's a little predator-y,
- 58:15Speaker 1: and it's... There's a couple others. What was the Wishmaster guy?
- 58:19Speaker 1: Because his face sort of, he sort of looked like
- 58:21Speaker 1: that too. But then he had the face thing. Yeah.
- 58:24Speaker 4: You're like, what?
- 58:25Speaker 1: You get into the body and it's sort of like reptilian,
- 58:28Speaker 1: but then he has giant bat wings and he's a
- 58:30Speaker 1: gargoyle or whatever the hell he is. Armored, but a demon.
- 58:33Speaker 7: And he's just kind of like, but then he works
- 58:35Speaker 7: on cars and, you know, and he does plumbing, you know.
- 58:38Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 58:40Speaker 1: He's a multi-talented creature.
- 58:41Speaker 9: He does sewing.
- 58:42Speaker 7: Yeah, and he sews.
- 58:44Speaker 1: He is a sewer.
- 58:45Speaker 7: And he does taxidermy, too, as well.
- 58:47Speaker 1: He is very damn talented. Gotta give him credit for it.
- 58:50Speaker 9: He is a man of many skills. A demon of
- 58:53Speaker 9: many skills?
- 58:53Speaker 7: A man demon.
- 58:54Speaker 10: A D-man.
- 58:55Speaker 9: If it was a female, would it be a D-woman?
- 58:59Speaker 4: No, I don't know.
- 59:01Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm not sure what it is, though.
- 59:04Speaker 1: I remember when we watched... Where was it? Because I
- 59:06Speaker 1: remember watching this when it first came out. Was it
- 59:09Speaker 1: on VHS or where did we end up seeing it
- 59:11Speaker 1: that first time because we need to have a sidebar
- 59:19Speaker 1: on the tiger.
- 59:19Speaker 9: Guy there's this guy walking around first i thought he
- 59:22Speaker 9: was like had his shirt open and then he was
- 59:24Speaker 9: like really kind of hairy but like it was like
- 59:26Speaker 9: like stripes closer You could tell it was a huge
- 59:29Speaker 9: tiger face on his shirt and not wearing it ironically.
- 59:32Speaker 1: That's my thing. I was like, if he was wearing
- 59:33Speaker 1: that ironically, it would be... I would want to punch
- 59:36Speaker 1: the guy in the face.
- 59:37Speaker 5: But.
- 59:37Speaker 9: Oh, that cunt just let the door open.
- 59:42Speaker 1: But yeah, the fact that this dude did not seem
- 59:44Speaker 1: like he knew what was going on at all. So
- 59:47Speaker 1: I guess it makes it okay. If you want to
- 59:48Speaker 1: just wear that for the sake of wearing that, I
- 59:50Speaker 1: guess it's all right. If you're wearing it because you
- 59:53Speaker 1: think you're cool, you're a hipster douche and I don't
- 59:55Speaker 1: like it.
- 59:55Speaker 9: He's pretty jealous, you know.
- 59:57Speaker 1: We should all get one. This guy legitimately thought, that
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: was a cool shirt. I'm going to put this on.
- 1:00:01Speaker 9: I'm going to wear it all at the same time.
- 1:00:03Speaker 9: He had one of those guts that kind of accentuated
- 1:00:06Speaker 9: the tiger's nose. 3D tiger?
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: It's the scariest Halloween costume you've seen all year.
- 1:00:14Speaker 9: It's pretty awesome. Anyways, back to what we were talking about.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: I don't know. I remember seeing it the first time
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: and really kind of liking this movie. In re-watching it,
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: it seems a lot cheesier. Like, it has effective moments,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: but I don't know. What was your thoughts on re-watching it?
- 1:00:33Speaker 9: I guess I had kind of the same feeling. I
- 1:00:35Speaker 9: didn't hate it the first time, so I didn't hate
- 1:00:37Speaker 9: it this time, I guess. I mean, I was still
- 1:00:39Speaker 9: annoyed by... Justin Long's character, and I severely was glad
- 1:00:43Speaker 9: when he died. I'm sorry if I just ruined it
- 1:00:45Speaker 9: for anybody out there, but whatever.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: They already threw out the spot.
- 1:00:48Speaker 9: I know, but I'm sorry.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: It's their own fault.
- 1:00:50Speaker 9: I know it is their own fault, and damn you
- 1:00:52Speaker 9: all for making me apologize. But, I mean, I felt,
- 1:00:55Speaker 9: I guess, the same as I did before. I mean,
- 1:00:57Speaker 9: it was a good concept. I mean, at least not
- 1:01:00Speaker 9: really original, because it's like so many parts of so
- 1:01:03Speaker 9: many other movies kind of thrown together.
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:01:06Speaker 9: Trying to act like it's original, but I mean, it's still,
- 1:01:09Speaker 9: I like those kind of movies, so it's still, it's
- 1:01:10Speaker 9: not like I'm complaining or anything, but.
- 1:01:13Speaker 7: That was a little bit, I was a little bit
- 1:01:15Speaker 7: more able to sit through the movie and not be
- 1:01:18Speaker 7: as annoyed, because I think the first time I saw it,
- 1:01:20Speaker 7: I saw it in the theater and I was just
- 1:01:21Speaker 7: completely annoyed at the kid.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: Just in love.
- 1:01:25Speaker 7: And the fact they couldn't drive and the fact that
- 1:01:27Speaker 7: they were panicking constantly and I was just like, I
- 1:01:31Speaker 7: wanted to choke both of them.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: That's how most people would respond.
- 1:01:34Speaker 7: But then I just, On this one, I tried to
- 1:01:37Speaker 7: watch it for the movie and not get too caught
- 1:01:39Speaker 7: up in getting aggravated at stuff.
- 1:01:43Speaker 9: I didn't like that his name was Derry. Are you
- 1:01:46Speaker 9: a fucking milk product? What is Derry? I know it's
- 1:01:49Speaker 9: short for Darius, but still.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: Daryl.
- 1:01:51Speaker 9: No, it's Darius.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: It's on his underwear. Okay. Jesus. I didn't look at
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: his underwear. Sorry.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: I liked that moment, actually. That was a funny moment
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: when it was, in fact, pink.
- 1:01:59Speaker 9: And now he knows my name. And now he knows
- 1:02:01Speaker 9: my name.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't hate Justin Long. And actually, when this
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: film came out.
- 1:02:09Speaker 9: I don't hate him either, except for this movie.
- 1:02:11Speaker 7: Well, there were a lot of people that liked him
- 1:02:13Speaker 7: when he came out.
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: And that's fine.
- 1:02:14Speaker 11: I understand.
- 1:02:15Speaker 7: He was in some other... I guess he had some
- 1:02:17Speaker 7: other acting roles. I don't know what it was. Like, okay,
- 1:02:21Speaker 7: he was in Galaxy Quest.
- 1:02:23Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:02:23Speaker 7: He was a good character in Galaxy Quest. I didn't
- 1:02:25Speaker 7: want to punch him in the face. But this one,
- 1:02:27Speaker 7: for some reason, maybe he reminds me too much of
- 1:02:29Speaker 7: maybe somebody else that I know that I just want
- 1:02:31Speaker 7: to punch in the face.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: He's pretty likable as a person. But, yeah, in this,
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: I mean, he is like that whiny kid brother that
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: everybody's annoyed by. So, I mean, I guess it's effective,
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: but at the same time it works a little too
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: well and you are genuinely annoyed with him.
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: When I first saw it, I saw it in the
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: theater as well, and I think I remember actually liking it.
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: I think I remember being surprised at how much I
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: liked it, and I think what was missing this time
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: was the theatrical experience. I think it was so much
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: informed by the people screaming at the screen that when
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: you didn't step up to the plate and have that
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: reaction last night, it was disappointing.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: I was busy going to sleep, like most movies I watched.
- 1:03:06Speaker 9: It wasn't even wrong turn.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: I'll go to sleep on any movie. I don't care.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: It took multiple viewings. I made it through. That's usually
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: my strategy.
- 1:03:14Speaker 9: Did you ever actually make it through Wrong Turn, though?
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: No.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: I'm saving that. We need to do a whole episode
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: on that one.
- 1:03:20Speaker 9: So you can sleep through it? I love that movie.
- 1:03:21Speaker 9: You can get a good nap in.
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: So you wanted me to scream a lot, is what
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: you're saying.
- 1:03:25Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: I don't know what to tell you.
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: Or just say, don't go in there.
- 1:03:29Speaker 7: Actually, you need my mom for that one because my
- 1:03:31Speaker 7: mom's really good about the whole, she's the little Asian
- 1:03:34Speaker 7: woman that watches the movies and is like, don't go
- 1:03:36Speaker 7: in there. That person's going to kill you.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: You're going to get stupid.
- 1:03:39Speaker 9: You're going to get killed.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: You're going to get killed.
- 1:03:40Speaker 9: Oh, he got to walk.
- 1:03:41Speaker 7: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 1:03:43Speaker 9: Oh, it's in the water. Yeah.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: These are different movies. I don't care.
- 1:03:48Speaker 7: Is she going to go out with him? Look at him.
- 1:03:50Speaker 9: She shouldn't go out with him.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: He's a bad guy.
- 1:03:52Speaker 7: She doesn't know that.
- 1:03:53Speaker 9: Why are you pointing at me? I'm not a bad guy.
- 1:03:54Speaker 7: No, I'm just saying.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: Well, this one would be like, Don't go in the pipe.
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: Why is he going in the pipe?
- 1:03:59Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: Don't go in the pipe. Oh, Lord. So, I don't know.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: Maybe that was part of it, was the whole, I
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: don't know. I also think there's been a lot built
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: up over the years, and he's turned into a legitimate
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: movie monster now. Like, you really, again, we just took
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: our picture with him at the convention here. So, it's like.
- 1:04:18Speaker 9: Not actually him, just some guy in a car.
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: But in general, it's like you see people dress up
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: as characters.
- 1:04:23Speaker 9: I don't want anybody to get their hopes up that
- 1:04:24Speaker 9: the Creeper was here.
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: Well, the Creeper was here. But we didn't get a
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: picture with him.
- 1:04:29Speaker 9: We got a picture with some guy in a Creeper costume.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: It's not Jonathan Breck.
- 1:04:33Speaker 9: In the costume.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: But we did talk to Jonathan Breck. But it's not
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: the guy in the costume, which I just thought it
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: was fun that there was a guy dressed up as
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: the Creeper.
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: And it's not the actual Creeper because it hasn't been
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: 23 years or whatever.
- 1:04:44Speaker 9: It has not been 23 years.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: Or two days or four days later from sequel time.
- 1:04:48Speaker 9: Because the second movie was recorded, what, 2003, 2004 maybe?
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: That is not 23 years later on the 23rd play.
- 1:04:56Speaker 9: Because the next one is supposed to take place right
- 1:05:00Speaker 9: after the first one. So it's like four days later.
- 1:05:03Speaker 9: That's supposed to be the last day.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: Well, then wouldn't that be the... 2003 is Jeepers Creepers 2.
- 1:05:08Speaker 9: They're making a third one. 19th day.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: They're supposed to be. He said when I talked to him,
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: it was with MGM, and MGM got all screwed up,
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: so that totally derailed Jeepers Creepers 3, but it was
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: still in the works is the last I heard.
- 1:05:21Speaker 9: I'm already aggravated Jeepers Creepers 3 because of the Wikipedia
- 1:05:24Speaker 9: description of it. Because in the third one, it's about Trish.
- 1:05:29Speaker 9: Apparently the girl comes back, and she's still playing Trish.
- 1:05:31Speaker 9: And apparently she has her son, who she has named
- 1:05:34Speaker 9: after her brother. And his name is Alan. Alan S.
- 1:05:40Speaker 9: I'm like, Alan S. Darius?
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: Darius. See the S?
- 1:05:47Speaker 7: Quite a stretch on that one.
- 1:05:49Speaker 9: I was like, what the fuck?
- 1:05:51Speaker 7: But is he 23 years old?
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: Then it would almost make sense.
- 1:05:56Speaker 7: Or maybe 21.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: Maybe they're skipping that two never happened.
- 1:05:59Speaker 9: It's got the hunters that were in the second one.
- 1:06:01Speaker 9: Maybe they're hunting it while it sleeps.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: That's the best time to get it.
- 1:06:05Speaker 9: I never see it coming.
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: That's true.
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: What hunters?
- 1:06:08Speaker 9: That are from the second one. Ray Weiss.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: I didn't watch it.
- 1:06:11Speaker 7: He was a farmer in the first one.
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: I didn't watch the second one. It was stupid.
- 1:06:14Speaker 9: Don't watch it.
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: I'm not going to.
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: I have not heard good things. I don't even remember
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: watching the second one.
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: I remember.
- 1:06:18Speaker 9: We watched it. Yeah, the second one was lame. It
- 1:06:21Speaker 9: had a bunch of high school basketball kids.
- 1:06:23Speaker 8: Don't look at me. I didn't watch it.
- 1:06:25Speaker 9: On a bus.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: God.
- 1:06:26Speaker 9: And it was picking them off in the bus.
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: Maybe I just blocked it out.
- 1:06:29Speaker 9: It was stupid. But it had Ray Weiss, and I
- 1:06:30Speaker 9: love me some Ray Weiss. Because Ray Weiss is awesome.
- 1:06:32Speaker 6: So is Ray Weiss.
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: I do think what's different about it.
- 1:06:36Speaker 9: You look like you don't believe me that very well.
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: You're just like, no, he's not.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: What I think's different, I mean, usually with these kind
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: of things, it's like everything takes place with just like
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: the kids and even if it's just like a serial killer,
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: it's always like the serial killer and the victim and they...
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: like try to bring the police in and it never
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: works out or they can't get to them or the
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: police don't believe them or like this one, it's just
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: like cops versus creeper. Like it's right there. Like they
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: don't hide it. They all see the monster. They're fighting
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: the monster. They're shooting the monster. Like it's, it's different than,
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: I don't know. That is kind of different than most
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: movies of this type.
- 1:07:10Speaker 9: That one part pissed me off. They were all standing there.
- 1:07:13Speaker 9: They all had their flashlights. None of them could fucking
- 1:07:15Speaker 9: manage to point the damn light at the monster. It's like,
- 1:07:18Speaker 9: they're all like, Well, it's.
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: The same people that try to hold your flashlight when
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: you're working on the car.
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: No, no, over, no.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: Damn it, I'll just do it myself.
- 1:07:25Speaker 9: But there's like ten fucking police officers, and they're all
- 1:07:27Speaker 9: standing around, and none of them can let their.
- 1:07:29Speaker 7: There's light shining everywhere.
- 1:07:31Speaker 9: But even when the monster is there eating their friend,
- 1:07:35Speaker 9: he's relatively stationary for however long it takes you to
- 1:07:38Speaker 9: eat a heart. I don't know.
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: Oh, I can tell you.
- 1:07:41Speaker 9: Anyways, they're there, and it's like they're shining it at
- 1:07:43Speaker 9: the guy's feet or something.
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: It's retarded.
- 1:07:46Speaker 7: Well, at that point, he's just some guy wearing some
- 1:07:49Speaker 7: whacked-out body armor.
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: On meth.
- 1:07:51Speaker 7: On meth.
- 1:07:53Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: I mean, there are several. That's one of those, again,
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: later on when they're like, they also, like, after that
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: first time, they still come back and go, it's not
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: like watching a movie. How many times can you make
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: this self-referential horror movie comment? Like, it's bad enough the
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: first time. You can't keep coming back to it.
- 1:08:12Speaker 9: Yes, you can.
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: They proved it.
- 1:08:13Speaker 7: They do.
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: I don't know. They just need to get over that
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: and stop putting those in there. Only certain movies can
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: pull that off.
- 1:08:22Speaker 15: I need you to listen and not talk, okay?
- 1:08:25Speaker 5: Truth be, I'd be lying if I said I knew
- 1:08:27Speaker 5: that telling you this would.
- 1:08:28Speaker 6: Do any good.
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: Any good?
- 1:08:31Speaker 7: What does that mean?
- 1:08:33Speaker 9: Every 23rd spring, for 23 days, it.
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: Gets to eat.
- 1:08:49Speaker 9: You know what it eats, and don't you make me
- 1:08:50Speaker 9: tell you. You think I like having this in my head?
- 1:08:56Speaker 6: Well, I don't.
- 1:08:58Speaker 7: I don't like knowing this.
- 1:08:59Speaker 9: And not knowing it. why I do.
- 1:09:01Speaker 11: You said it eats?
- 1:09:05Speaker 9: Only certain things.
- 1:09:10Speaker 8: From certain people.
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: Just get away from her, Darian.
- 1:09:12Speaker 9: It eats lungs so it can breathe.
- 1:09:18Speaker 8: And eyes.
- 1:09:19Speaker 15: So I can see. It all becomes a part of it.
- 1:09:26Speaker 15: Whatever it eats becomes.
- 1:09:28Speaker 9: A part of it.
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: What were your thoughts on the whole wrap-up as it
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: goes into the backstory and the cop fights and all
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: of that stuff? Which wrap-up?
- 1:09:39Speaker 7: Towards the end of it?
- 1:09:40Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: As he becomes more of the mythical creature that they're battling.
- 1:09:45Speaker 11: I don't know.
- 1:09:46Speaker 7: The part where he flies off, I kind of I
- 1:09:49Speaker 7: was kind of thinking about the Wizard of Oz when
- 1:09:52Speaker 7: the flying monkeys kidnapped Dorothy and her little feet are
- 1:09:55Speaker 7: like dangling down. I expected to see, yeah, I expected
- 1:09:58Speaker 7: to see his little feet dangling down, but they weren't.
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: When he's in the full mode, he is sort of
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: like kind of Harryhausen, which I think is what they
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: were legitimately going for was sort of some of his
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: old monsters kind of jammed into one big thing, but.
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: It looks good. Again, I like the creature design. It's just,
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: I don't know. There's something a little off about the,
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: I mean, is it just kind of silly by.
- 1:10:20Speaker 9: The end of it?
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: I was a little confused. I felt like they had
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: an open head shot. I didn't know why we spent
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: so much time with the girl pleading, take me, take me,
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: and we didn't just shoot the monster in the head.
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: Exactly. Or why they do the whole take me, but
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: that doesn't come into play. I don't know.
- 1:10:36Speaker 7: He doesn't want her.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: Is it just supposed to show what a great sister
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: she is?
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: Well, yeah.
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: A sacrifice.
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: Are we also working under the assumption that the monster
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: can speak English? That he's... He can understand and is rational.
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: I guess he does.
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: Have a vanity plate.
- 1:10:52Speaker 7: He's got a vanity plate, so he knows how to...
- 1:10:54Speaker 7: He's got to know how to speak English, otherwise he
- 1:10:56Speaker 7: would have to go to the... Yeah, he's got to
- 1:10:58Speaker 7: fill out forms, and he's got to go to the
- 1:10:59Speaker 7: Spanish line. He's like, no hable espanol.
- 1:11:03Speaker 9: Yeah, and I was trying.
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: The whole time I was wondering if he was, in fact,
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: blind and needed the eyes because he was blind, and
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: that would make sense as to how he was so
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: ineffective as a murderer, how he lands on the wrong car, and.
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: And his bat wings.
- 1:11:14Speaker 7: But he did get him in the hole.
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: Well, yeah, he usually uses his sonar. And his sense
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: of smell.
- 1:11:20Speaker 7: And his sense of smell, yeah.
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: He smells stuff a lot.
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: So now he's going to have, like, sad, dopey, Justin Long, like,
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: longing eyes.
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:11:28Speaker 9: Yes, kind of dopey and dumb looking.
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: And trying to sell you an apple.
- 1:11:35Speaker 9: But it's like, if all of his, most of his
- 1:11:36Speaker 9: equipment seems to be down in this hole, right? When
- 1:11:39Speaker 9: he threw the body down the chute, he was already
- 1:11:41Speaker 9: stitched back up, right?
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: So what's he doing, like, on the.
- 1:11:44Speaker 7: No, see, I think he's got multiple hideouts because, you know,
- 1:11:48Speaker 7: he goes.
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: Because they went to the other one at the end. Yeah,
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: he went to the other one.
- 1:11:51Speaker 9: No, it was the new one because he done fucked
- 1:11:52Speaker 9: up his last one.
- 1:11:52Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:11:53Speaker 7: He had his record player there, so it could have
- 1:11:57Speaker 7: been his main... Was there other bodies laying around?
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: I don't know. There wasn't much of a... Maybe that
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: was the main workshop that we went to at the end,
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: and this was just the drop-off point so they could, like,
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: stick him on the wall, his stucco going on. Yeah,
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: he's got different areas.
- 1:12:12Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: I mean, that part's creepy. I guess it has to be.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: It's pretty gross, but I don't know.
- 1:12:21Speaker 9: I'm sorry.
- 1:12:21Speaker 5: Go ahead. Yeah.
- 1:12:23Speaker 6: No, it wasn't good.
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: I was just going to bring up the psychic lady
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: and how we feel about the psychic lady. I like
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: the psychic lady. I thought she was awesome.
- 1:12:30Speaker 9: I'd be her friend.
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: I liked her too. And I liked the phone call scene.
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: I thought that was legitimately creepy in like a Robert
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: Blake kind of way.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: Yeah, okay. I'll give you that.
- 1:12:41Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: That's another weird addition to it that I'm like, you
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: could have done that whole story without her. So it
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: does seem like it. Because it comes in so far
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: in that it's like an afterthought of, oh, and then
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: we can work this character in.
- 1:12:54Speaker 7: Yeah, it just kind of goes nowhere.
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, she's there, but it's not really essential. Like,
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: all those things still would have happened had she not
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: had visions of them happening or whatever happened. It's like,
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: she's just witness to it all.
- 1:13:07Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't like the way he treated her on
- 1:13:08Speaker 7: the phone. Because, I mean, she was trying to give
- 1:13:10Speaker 7: him information, and he's spazzing out, and he's telling her,
- 1:13:12Speaker 7: you know. The little sister was being a real cunt. Yeah,
- 1:13:15Speaker 7: the sister was being stupid. She was trying to listen
- 1:13:16Speaker 7: on the phone, and. Yeah, I want her at the
- 1:13:20Speaker 7: police station, but either way.
- 1:13:22Speaker 9: But she is trying to help you. You need to
- 1:13:25Speaker 9: simmer your ass down.
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: I enjoyed how sort of tragic and ineffective she was.
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: I think if there had been a movie just about her,
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: I would have liked it more.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, that's the thing. I think she's actually
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: an entertaining character, but it seems kind of weird the
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: way they jam it into this structure. It's like she
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: doesn't really have to be there. Nothing really even happens
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: to her as it goes. I mean, she's sort of
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: left aside. So she's just there to sort of see
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: everything and be like, oh, well, I saw this in
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: my visions, and now I'm here to witness it again.
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: Remember the scene that already happened? I knew that, too.
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: I can't really do anything about it, though.
- 1:13:58Speaker 9: But was her vision wrong, or was she just throwing
- 1:14:01Speaker 9: them off? Because she said that it was going to, well,
- 1:14:03Speaker 9: it seemed like she implied that it was going to
- 1:14:04Speaker 9: be the sister, right?
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: I don't think she knew.
- 1:14:08Speaker 7: Well, she said the visions weren't always correct.
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: I think they were always correct.
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: Or maybe, oh, who knows.
- 1:14:13Speaker 9: When they asked who it was, she looked at the
- 1:14:15Speaker 9: sister kind of like in a, oh, you are fucked
- 1:14:17Speaker 9: kind of way.
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: Well, and she still is, I guess. Maybe she's just like,
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: you're the one that's going to be left behind. You're
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: the one that's going to have to live with all
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: this later. He'll be dead soon.
- 1:14:26Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 1:14:28Speaker 9: I mean, I liked the crazy old lady. She walked
- 1:14:30Speaker 9: kind of funny, but, you know, he doesn't, I guess,
- 1:14:32Speaker 9: when you're crazy.
- 1:14:34Speaker 7: She kind of walks like Crazy June.
- 1:14:36Speaker 9: Can Crazy June.
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: See the future?
- 1:14:38Speaker 9: Does she have visions? If we talk to her, would
- 1:14:40Speaker 9: she tell us?
- 1:14:40Speaker 7: You know what? I'm not going to talk to her.
- 1:14:42Speaker 9: Do you think she knew about the serial.
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: Killer?
- 1:14:47Speaker 8: No.
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: She wasn't.
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: Okay, so what's our wrap up on this thing? What's
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: your final take on the Jeeper Creeper?
- 1:14:55Speaker 9: I was glad the brother died because he was a
- 1:14:57Speaker 9: real pain in the ass and he had it coming
- 1:14:58Speaker 9: because he was a nosy little bastard who should have
- 1:15:00Speaker 9: just goddamn hit out of the pipe in the first place.
- 1:15:02Speaker 7: Exactly. That's what you get. That's exactly what you get.
- 1:15:06Speaker 7: You wanted to go back and be nosy and find
- 1:15:08Speaker 7: out what was going on and you got made into
- 1:15:10Speaker 7: a skin mask, so There you go. With no eyes.
- 1:15:16Speaker 9: Yay. The moral of this story, kids, stay away from
- 1:15:21Speaker 9: the pipe.
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:15:22Speaker 7: And don't go poking into serial killers' businesses.
- 1:15:24Speaker 9: Yeah, mind your own damn business.
- 1:15:26Speaker 7: Mind your own damn business.
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: You speak from experience.
- 1:15:29Speaker 7: Exactly. I knew better.
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: The moral of this story, stay away from the pipe,
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: has so many applications. Like, that's so fantastic as a
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: story's moral.
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: That works on, yeah, a lot of levels.
- 1:15:39Speaker 9: I was trying to cover all my bases on that.
- 1:15:41Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: Talking to you, Edward Furlong.
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 1:15:49Speaker 9: Oh, Edward Furlong.
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: I just wanted to take it back there and make
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: sure he's never able to be on the show.
- 1:15:54Speaker 7: I don't think he ever will be.
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: Oh, the things we say.
- 1:15:58Speaker 9: He's so greasy. If they wrapped him in a sheet,
- 1:16:02Speaker 9: like if the Jeeper Creeper guy had caught him, can
- 1:16:05Speaker 9: you imagine how weighed down it would have been with
- 1:16:07Speaker 9: oil and nacho cheese?
- 1:16:09Speaker 7: Well, he would have slid down the pipe easier. He
- 1:16:12Speaker 7: would have rolled forever.
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: I did not mean for that to go here. I
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: was just going to make a casual reference to his
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: drug use.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: Oh no, you opened the door.
- 1:16:22Speaker 7: And you know the creeper, all his embalming stuff probably
- 1:16:29Speaker 7: wouldn't have stuck to his oily skin anyways either.
- 1:16:31Speaker 9: It would not have.
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: I think he's already preserved.
- 1:16:35Speaker 9: He's got his own layer of wax.
- 1:16:38Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:16:39Speaker 9: And foam.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: All right, so does that round out Jeepers Creepers?
- 1:16:44Speaker 9: Stay away from the bike. Seriously, dude, who the fuck
- 1:16:47Speaker 9: does that? Oh, he's throwing dead bodies in there. Let's
- 1:16:50Speaker 9: go look.
- 1:16:50Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:16:52Speaker 9: You know?
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: That's what happens in every episode of Scooby-Doo.
- 1:16:54Speaker 9: I forgot to talk about how annoyed I was at
- 1:16:56Speaker 9: that one scene with the sister when she's leaning up
- 1:16:58Speaker 9: against the car, and this fucking truck sneaks up on her.
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: Yeah, because she's not paying attention.
- 1:17:02Speaker 7: That's your job, is to watch to see if the
- 1:17:04Speaker 7: truck's going to come back.
- 1:17:05Speaker 4: What do you do?
- 1:17:06Speaker 9: First of all, it's coming. I can hear it. And
- 1:17:08Speaker 9: she's just leaning, and then she turns around and she
- 1:17:10Speaker 9: looks at it, And she keeps looking at it. And
- 1:17:13Speaker 9: she fucking stares at it for a good like 30 seconds.
- 1:17:15Speaker 9: I'm like, bitch, what are you doing?
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: And then she freaks out and runs away.
- 1:17:17Speaker 7: Yeah, and then it dawns on her.
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: See, I almost feel like those moments were all calculated
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: for that theatrical experience.
- 1:17:24Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: It's right there.
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: It's coming.
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: You stupid bitch.
- 1:17:28Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: It kind of works. I mean, we all were thinking that.
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: Turn around, Mitch.
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: Turn around.
- 1:17:33Speaker 9: But even when she does turn around, she's blatantly staring
- 1:17:36Speaker 9: at it. Oh, what is this? Is this a truck?
- 1:17:39Speaker 9: Is this a truck that's trying to kill us? Help
- 1:17:40Speaker 9: me sit and stare at it for a few minutes longer.
- 1:17:42Speaker 9: I want to make sure. I want to make sure.
- 1:17:43Speaker 9: I want to make eye contact first.
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: She was totally watching for that truck. the other direction.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: I mean, you didn't say it looked both ways before
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: crossing the street.
- 1:17:52Speaker 7: Pull your car right out onto the edge of the
- 1:17:54Speaker 7: road where he could see it.
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: And isn't that the direction the truck had gone in originally? Like,
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: shouldn't she be expecting it to come back from that direction?
- 1:18:00Speaker 9: Well, she wasn't just looking for the truck. She was
- 1:18:02Speaker 9: looking for any passerbys.
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: In one direction.
- 1:18:05Speaker 7: In one direction.
- 1:18:06Speaker 9: I don't know if she was smart about it. I'm
- 1:18:08Speaker 9: just saying. She had nice hair. She did.
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: She was lovely, too.
- 1:18:14Speaker 9: She was real cute. She had a real cute body.
- 1:18:15Speaker 9: I wish I had like that, but she was dumb.
- 1:18:19Speaker 9: she was smarter than her brother.
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: That's true that's why she made it yeah and.
- 1:18:23Speaker 9: What the fuck was that cell phone it.
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: Was not 2001 yeah what did your cell phone look
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: like in 2001 i didn't have a cell phone i
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: might have it that i was still pretty late to the.
- 1:18:34Speaker 7: Game on the old no i was probably told 2002
- 1:18:37Speaker 7: maybe i think i got a cell phone maybe three
- 1:18:40Speaker 7: it was a nokia.
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: Mine was too it's pretty fancy.
- 1:18:44Speaker 9: You had it until like last year?
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty much.
- 1:18:46Speaker 9: Or last month?
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: Pretty much. I've still got mine.
- 1:18:48Speaker 10: It's in a box.
- 1:18:49Speaker 7: Because I don't throw anything away.
- 1:18:51Speaker 9: You don't. But yeah, I was just, there was a
- 1:18:54Speaker 9: lot of moments where I was just yelling at the TV.
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: So from that angle it works.
- 1:18:59Speaker 9: We didn't watch it until like midnight. So I was
- 1:19:01Speaker 9: like half asleep too. Yeah.
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: So I was like, ah, you're.
- 1:19:04Speaker 7: Yeah, we were very low on patience at that point.
- 1:19:06Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: And I think that might be part of it. I
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: think by the end, I just get kind of impatient
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: with it. I'm like, oh, hurry up and kill him now.
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: Because the first half seems really effective to me. And
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: then by the end, I was like, what the hell
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: is going on now?
- 1:19:17Speaker 7: Yeah, it's like, if you don't kill him now, I'm
- 1:19:19Speaker 7: going to come in the TV and kill him.
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: So I don't know. I think the first half works
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: really well and is really tense and it is kind
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: of creepy. And then by the end, I'm just like, oh,
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: hurry up and shoot him or something.
- 1:19:27Speaker 6: God.
- 1:19:28Speaker 12: I don't know.
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: I get impatient by the end of the movie.
- 1:19:31Speaker 9: Especially this movie. I liked it. I mean, it was okay.
- 1:19:35Speaker 7: You know, I sometimes kind of wonder, too. What if
- 1:19:39Speaker 7: the sister just shot her brother in the head at
- 1:19:41Speaker 7: that point? Because she knows he's going to die, you know?
- 1:19:46Speaker 7: She knows he's probably going to die a horrible death,
- 1:19:47Speaker 7: and you're going to save him from dying. I think
- 1:19:50Speaker 7: that would kind of spoil his plans as far as, like,
- 1:19:52Speaker 7: you know.
- 1:19:52Speaker 9: Maybe he would have came after her.
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: Yeah, big deal. Would he? Because he picked somebody real specific.
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: He's got that whole sin thing. He's going. He has
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: to start over. Maybe he didn't like this. No, no, no, no.
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: It's not that.
- 1:20:04Speaker 7: I think he wanted something very specific and he didn't
- 1:20:07Speaker 7: find it in her just because, I don't know, maybe
- 1:20:10Speaker 7: she was not as whiny.
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: As he was.
- 1:20:13Speaker 5: You know?
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: She wasn't as scared.
- 1:20:15Speaker 7: Yeah, she wasn't as scared. He would have tried to
- 1:20:17Speaker 7: find somebody else to scare. But I think it would
- 1:20:19Speaker 7: have been a, Kind of a funny moment if she
- 1:20:22Speaker 7: just shot him in the head and looked at him
- 1:20:23Speaker 7: and said, now what?
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: Now what are you going to do? You just get
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: the creeper looking at it. Come on! I totally picked
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: this guy out.
- 1:20:30Speaker 8: He looked yummy.
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I was confused, yeah, by the ethical motivations of
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: the creeper as well. It seemed like sometimes he would
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: sort of... kill without discrimination, and then other times he'd
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: be like, I will spare you because you do not
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: have Justin Long's eyes.
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I mean, just often those cops, like in
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: the car, the cop, he just beheads that cop for
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: no good reason.
- 1:20:50Speaker 9: And he at least took them with him. What about
- 1:20:53Speaker 9: the cat lady?
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: He just tossed her aside.
- 1:20:56Speaker 7: Yeah, he tossed her aside and flew off.
- 1:20:59Speaker 9: And what are the consequences of that? Because now who's
- 1:21:01Speaker 9: going to feed her cats? They're going to eat her.
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: Oh, they're totally going to eat her.
- 1:21:05Speaker 4: Oh, that and run away.
- 1:21:05Speaker 9: It's cat chaos.
- 1:21:08Speaker 7: It's a catastrophe.
- 1:21:11Speaker 9: See, I got wing in it.
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: If you're keeping score at home of the horrible jokes.
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: Which one was worse?
- 1:21:19Speaker 9: I think catastrophe was worse.
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: It's a little hammier.
- 1:21:23Speaker 9: But I mean, seriously. What if that old lady had family?
- 1:21:28Speaker 7: She didn't have any family.
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: Do you really worry about the family in any of
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: these horror movies?
- 1:21:31Speaker 9: I'm worried about how they're going to have to react
- 1:21:34Speaker 9: when they find out that Nana was eaten by a
- 1:21:36Speaker 9: horde of cats.
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure Nana has cats instead of a family.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: That could explain it, really. That's usually what happens. I've
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: got a friend. You know Sean?
- 1:21:44Speaker 7: You don't know Sean. He bought a house, and the
- 1:21:48Speaker 7: guy that died in the house, he shot himself in
- 1:21:53Speaker 7: the face. He committed suicide. And the cat, he had
- 1:21:56Speaker 7: a cat up there. It ate his face.
- 1:21:59Speaker 10: Yep.
- 1:21:59Speaker 7: And then the cat died next to him. And then
- 1:22:01Speaker 7: he bought the apartment. It was actually a house apartment.
- 1:22:04Speaker 7: And he left the tape outline of the man, and
- 1:22:07Speaker 7: I I think there was a tape outline of the cat, too,
- 1:22:10Speaker 7: but I don't know if that was completely true. But
- 1:22:12Speaker 7: he left that on the floor.
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: Did the cat, like, lead poisoning?
- 1:22:18Speaker 7: Well, there was only so much it could eat.
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: That's what I was going to say. Did he eventually
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: starve to death?
- 1:22:21Speaker 7: Yeah, he eventually starved to death.
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: I forgot how many. I was like, otherwise, why the
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: hell did the cat die?
- 1:22:25Speaker 7: Well, he rented the building. He rented the shop downstairs.
- 1:22:29Speaker 7: The owner of the building lived upstairs. He died, was
- 1:22:34Speaker 7: upstairs in the apartment for I don't know how many months.
- 1:22:36Speaker 10: Wow.
- 1:22:37Speaker 7: And he just kept on shoving the lease money through
- 1:22:42Speaker 7: the mail slot and eventually kind of was like, okay,
- 1:22:45Speaker 7: we haven't seen this guy in like two or three months.
- 1:22:48Speaker 7: And then they finally got the cops to go out
- 1:22:49Speaker 7: there and check it out.
- 1:22:50Speaker 9: Maybe they're like, oh, I got my money back.
- 1:22:52Speaker 7: Yeah, me too.
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: Free rent. Exactly.
- 1:22:58Speaker 7: He ended up living up there, which I didn't understand.
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that's kind of creepy.
- 1:23:01Speaker 7: Apparently the place was haunted too.
- 1:23:02Speaker 4: By a cat?
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: No, by that guy.
- 1:23:05Speaker 7: And the cat.
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: And the cat, yeah.
- 1:23:06Speaker 7: Yeah, he told me he saw the cat and the guy.
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: This is fitting, then. Creepy, haunted stories for Halloween.
- 1:23:13Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: Dead cat haunting the apartment.
- 1:23:19Speaker 9: Mm-hmm.
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: Anything else on Jeepers Creepers?
- 1:23:29Speaker 10: No.
- 1:23:29Speaker 9: No.
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: There's no better ending to this episode than that.
- 1:23:41Speaker 9: Please tell me you got that.
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: I think it came through just fine.
- 1:23:46Speaker 9: We really can't top that. Not even if we tried.
- 1:23:51Speaker 6: Oh, wow.
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: And we're in a basement and that was a creepy song.
- 1:23:56Speaker 11: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: Actually, I like the creepy song at the end of
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: Creepish Creep. Not the Creeper song. I like the one
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: they play.
- 1:24:03Speaker 6: At the end.
- 1:24:04Speaker 9: And then we were like, is there anything after this?
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: Yeah. I think we need to go out on that one,
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: so we'll go with that.
- 1:24:08Speaker 9: I don't remember what the song was.
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: Anything else on your Halloween fun? Do you have any
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: fun Halloween wishes for people?
- 1:24:16Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:24:17Speaker 7: I'm going to go try to hang out at her
- 1:24:19Speaker 7: cousin's house for Halloween.
- 1:24:21Speaker 9: Yeah, he's like now BFFs with my cousin. It's ridiculous.
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: They're going to sit around and.
- 1:24:27Speaker 9: Play with each other's hair.
- 1:24:27Speaker 7: He's got a freaking sonic phaser.
- 1:24:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:24:32Speaker 9: And he has a starbird.
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: Yeah, he's got a starbird, too.
- 1:24:35Speaker 9: He gets into starbird fights.
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: Oh, hell yeah.
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: Starbird fights. Me and him have a starbird fight. What's
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: the appeal for Halloween, though? What's the plan for Halloween?
- 1:24:41Speaker 7: Well, if he gets pumpkins, he's supposed to put a
- 1:24:43Speaker 7: bunch of pumpkins out. Usually he does his house up.
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: Pretty big. Fantastically.
- 1:24:48Speaker 7: Fantastically for Halloween. How many trick-or-treaters did he say he
- 1:24:51Speaker 7: had last year?
- 1:24:51Speaker 9: I think around 150 to 200, which we get three.
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: He's that house in the neighborhood.
- 1:24:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:24:57Speaker 7: So it's like figures, you know, I become friends with
- 1:24:59Speaker 7: him and this is the year he decides to maybe
- 1:25:02Speaker 7: not do anything.
- 1:25:04Speaker 5: Nice.
- 1:25:05Speaker 9: I was like, no, you can't do that.
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: You need to do it.
- 1:25:08Speaker 3: For us.
- 1:25:09Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:25:10Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: Do you have fun Halloween plans, Lucy?
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: Um, No.
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: I now have a Halloween costume. Halloween costumes are something
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: that I struggled with for many years. And I went
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: to a friend's dress-up party, not Halloween-related, but just costume attire,
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: and I went as Adam Ant.
- 1:25:27Speaker 9: I saw pictures. Those were fantastic.
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: Oh, thank you very much. That was very excellent.
- 1:25:30Speaker 2: Let me tell you a story about that. Well, I
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: appreciate that, and hopefully that will lend to the veracity
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: of my plight, because I went to that, and nobody
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: knew who I was.
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: We're also old, by the way.
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: That's the thing. It was, like, a bunch of, like,
- 1:25:42Speaker 2: early 20s, 20-something people. And nobody had any idea who
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: Adam Ant was. And I even had brought, in case,
- 1:25:51Speaker 2: I mean, I thought my costume was pretty good. In
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: case I was delusioned and it wasn't and it was terrible,
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: I had, like, I have an old, like, Adam Ant pin.
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: And I brought that and I affixed that to my
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: Adam Ant jacket. And so if somebody had to ask,
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: who are you, then I could show them the pin
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: that has a picture of Adam Ant with the words
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: next to it, Adam Ant.
- 1:26:09Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: People would ask, I would show them the pin, and
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: they would still look blankly at that, see the name
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: Adam Ant, nothing.
- 1:26:17Speaker 9: Nothing.
- 1:26:17Speaker 7: Is he an ant?
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: So, from now on, I accepted this as a challenge. So,
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: my job in life now, I'm on an educative mission
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: to inform future generations....
- 1:26:31Speaker 4: The existence?
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: Of the existence, and more importantly, greatness of Adam Ant. So, every...
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: I thought for.
- 1:26:36Speaker 9: A second you might try to have another.
- 1:26:39Speaker 9: Icon. You're going to go as cameo.
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: But I'm going to have an Adamant. Yeah, that would
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: be amazing.
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: Trick's finding the codpiece. What do you mean you.
- 1:26:49Speaker 9: Don't know who this is?
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: Check out my codpiece. What do you mean you don't know?
- 1:26:54Speaker 9: I know, right?
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: So every year now, Adamant, but the challenge is to
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: have it be a different Adamant outfit. No repeats of jackets.
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: Or When you get to his weird movie roles, let
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: us know and we can tie it into the episode.
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: Oh, I like that.
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: He's got a fine acting career there. We need to
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: work that in.
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: And I'm going to be seeing him in Pontiac, Michigan
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: in two weeks.
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: Not playing, just stalking his house.
- 1:27:19Speaker 9: How many variations are there? How many years have you
- 1:27:22Speaker 9: got this planned out for you?
- 1:27:23Speaker 2: I don't think it always has to be a different look.
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: Just a different outfit.
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: He probably had a lot of outfits.
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: It could be Prince Charming for a lot of years
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: because that's my favorite.
- 1:27:31Speaker 9: It's like Liberace.
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: He had a lot of outfits. He had a lot
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: of outfits. And they were all badass. And a lot
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: of rings.
- 1:27:38Speaker 9: And capes.
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: And was awesome at Halloween.
- 1:27:41Speaker 9: Yes.
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: It was one of the other shows I listened to,
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: and it was a guy that grew up in L.A.,
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: and he said growing up, we would go out trick-or-treating,
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: and there were only certain places you could go, but
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: he said, if you would go to Liberace's house, he
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: would answer the door. Like, Liberace would come to the door, fur, rings,
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: you know, the whole deal, and give kids candy and
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: stand there and talk to them. And I'm like, that
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: is so awesome. One more reason Liberace is badass.
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: Speaking of that, is this true, this rumor that has
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: circulated that Johnny Depp went as the pirate to his
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: mom's house and handed out candy in Kentucky? Have you
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: heard this?
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: No, but that's hilarious if it is true. I haven't
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: heard that either.
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: I think it might actually be true.
- 1:28:25Speaker 4: It could be.
- 1:28:26Speaker 7: I don't know, though, because I used to work with
- 1:28:28Speaker 7: his cousin, and they said that they hadn't seen him since,
- 1:28:33Speaker 7: I think he said early family reunions, that he just
- 1:28:35Speaker 7: doesn't usually... If he comes back, he comes back to
- 1:28:38Speaker 7: visit family, and it's very brief. and gone doesn't like
- 1:28:41Speaker 7: i don't have any association with kentucky.
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: I've seen the people in that neighborhood i don't blame
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: him Well, yeah, I do.
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: Know that he bought his mom a house slash farm
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: right next to the airport just so he could land
- 1:28:51Speaker 2: in the airport and then go to her house and
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: then just jump back on a plane. But I do
- 1:28:54Speaker 2: know that my friend is now defunct. There was a
- 1:28:57Speaker 2: restaurant called The Melodian in Lexington that was fantastic. And
- 1:29:01Speaker 2: my friend was at the bar with this sort of
- 1:29:03Speaker 2: unkempt fellow for a few hours just shooting the shit.
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: And the guy gets up to leave and the bartender,
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: I think we know where this is going, says, what
- 1:29:11Speaker 2: were you talking to Johnny Depp about for three hours?
- 1:29:13Speaker 2: And my friend just had no idea. He just thought
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: he was some weird dude, and they were just having
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: a weird dude conversation at the bar.
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: Those are all still true. He is a weird dude,
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: and I'm sure he has many weird dude conversations.
- 1:29:25Speaker 9: I forgot, we do have awesome plans for Halloween.
- 1:29:28Speaker 4: We did.
- 1:29:28Speaker 9: We're going to Coney Island, bitch.
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 1:29:30Speaker 6: That's right.
- 1:29:31Speaker 7: I forgot about that.
- 1:29:32Speaker 9: How do you forget about going to Coney Island?
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: You guys both suck because I don't get to go.
- 1:29:35Speaker 9: Yeah. Because they're having their big Halloween spectacular at Coney Island,
- 1:29:38Speaker 9: and I want to go ride the cyclone, and I'm
- 1:29:40Speaker 9: like super-duper.
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: Excited, and I'm like, I have always wanted to go there.
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: Me too.
- 1:29:45Speaker 9: Everybody does, you know.
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: You guys suck.
- 1:29:47Speaker 4: Yeah, we're going.
- 1:29:48Speaker 9: We're going to Coney Island, and there's going to be
- 1:29:50Speaker 9: like haunted houses and mazes and everything, and everybody's got costumes,
- 1:29:53Speaker 9: which I'm kind of leery about.
- 1:29:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:29:55Speaker 9: I'm leery about haunted houses and that kind of thing
- 1:29:57Speaker 9: because I don't like people jumping out and touching me.
- 1:30:00Speaker 9: I don't like people touching me or close contact or
- 1:30:03Speaker 9: just in close proximity trying to shock me. I hate
- 1:30:06Speaker 9: being startled. I hate that shit.
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: I can imagine that would be hell on earth for
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: you then.
- 1:30:11Speaker 9: I like the idea.
- 1:30:12Speaker 7: It's hell to try to keep me from punching somebody.
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: Yeah, that's why I hate those.
- 1:30:18Speaker 7: My first reaction is I'm going to kick somebody in
- 1:30:20Speaker 7: the face.
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like you can't expect people to do that
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: and not have their normal reaction, which is I want
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: to punch you in the face.
- 1:30:25Speaker 9: I wonder if they, like, there goes Chris Sarandon. But
- 1:30:28Speaker 9: I wonder if they, like, if they, like, look at
- 1:30:30Speaker 9: people and, like, judge. He just walked by. And, like, judge, like,
- 1:30:33Speaker 9: all right, this person will be good to jump at.
- 1:30:34Speaker 9: They probably can't kick my ass.
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: You know?
- 1:30:37Speaker 9: This person looks like a weakling. I want to get
- 1:30:40Speaker 9: them because even if they decide to swing, I can
- 1:30:42Speaker 9: take them.
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: Anybody I know who's worked at Halloween shows or haunted
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: houses or whatever, they do, like, they spot, and it's
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: always the girls, they're always, which girl is going to
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: scream her head off? So you can sit there and
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: pick it out and, You just look angry, so they
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: don't want to go with you. Which is the girl
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: they're going to freak out?
- 1:31:00Speaker 7: Yeah, because what happens when you startle me?
- 1:31:01Speaker 9: Dude, there's been, I don't know how many times that
- 1:31:05Speaker 9: he's almost punched me in the face.
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: Beating you?
- 1:31:08Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:31:10Speaker 6: Tying.
- 1:31:11Speaker 9: I think it was just the other night. I was
- 1:31:13Speaker 9: walking down the hall, and he was walking down the
- 1:31:15Speaker 9: opposite direction of the hall, but he was looking this way,
- 1:31:17Speaker 9: so he was walking directly at me.
- 1:31:18Speaker 7: Because I thought you were in the computer room.
- 1:31:20Speaker 9: So I'm walking this way, and I'm walking, and he's like,
- 1:31:23Speaker 9: I'm like, boyfriend, boyfriend, and he's just like, and I'm
- 1:31:25Speaker 9: just like.
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: That was an arm pulled back that you didn't hear
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: at home.
- 1:31:29Speaker 9: Yeah, I can do it again. That's what it looked like.
- 1:31:31Speaker 9: But anyways, I'm like, I'm going to apologize for almost
- 1:31:35Speaker 9: thinking about hitting me.
- 1:31:37Speaker 7: You know, threat assessment. I had to look and make
- 1:31:40Speaker 7: sure it wasn't.
- 1:31:41Speaker 9: You can hear me. I'm your girlfriend. You should know
- 1:31:43Speaker 9: my voice by now.
- 1:31:44Speaker 7: But it takes a while for that to reach my brain.
- 1:31:46Speaker 7: The first thing that reaches into my brain is I'm
- 1:31:48Speaker 7: going to kill you. Who are you? Oh, oh, oh, oh,
- 1:31:51Speaker 7: it's girlfriend.
- 1:31:51Speaker 9: Maybe you should look where you're walking.
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: Think about punching her. You better apologize.
- 1:31:57Speaker 9: Dude, seriously. If I have dreams where he's mean to me,
- 1:32:02Speaker 9: I make him apologize.
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: That's true, I'm sure.
- 1:32:04Speaker 9: Because he's wonderful and I love him.
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:32:10Speaker 2: Did we just segue into our Valentine's Day episode?
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: Well, I was thinking what a great Halloween story. Domestic violence.
- 1:32:16Speaker 3: Yay!
- 1:32:17Speaker 9: He didn't actually hit me. Not in any way do I.
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: Condone domestic violence. This is, yeah.
- 1:32:23Speaker 9: Unless the bitch really deserves it.
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: I give up. We're going home.
- 1:32:29Speaker 8: All right.
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: We do want to say thank you to the Scarefest people.
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: This has been an awesome weekend once again. And I
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: really like the way they set things up. Yesterday was
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: really cool and made things very easy to get in
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: there and talk to people.
- 1:32:43Speaker 9: I do feel sorry for them. Who?
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. They had some bad, and none of which
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: were their fault. They had some bad last-minute complications with illness,
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: cancellations from some of the bigger celebrities. From the biggest celebrities.
- 1:33:00Speaker 4: Several of them.
- 1:33:01Speaker 2: But they did really roll with it. And I got
- 1:33:03Speaker 2: to say, that Patti Starr is maybe the most adorable
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: person that ever lived.
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: I saw her yesterday. She kind of is.
- 1:33:08Speaker 9: Yeah. And they were very upfront with the whole thing.
- 1:33:10Speaker 9: There wasn't any kind of, they were very.
- 1:33:12Speaker 7: Yeah, they weren't like, last minute when you got here,
- 1:33:14Speaker 7: they were like, oh, by the way.
- 1:33:15Speaker 6: Totally, yeah.
- 1:33:16Speaker 9: Like, as soon as they found out, it's like they
- 1:33:17Speaker 9: were passing along information.
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: And they passed the note from Malcolm McDowell, who was like, look,
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: my eye's falling apart. I'm sorry, I can't be there.
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: So they immediately forwarded that to everybody. So that, yeah,
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: they handled it very well.
- 1:33:31Speaker 9: I didn't see a lot of negative feedback about the
- 1:33:33Speaker 9: whole thing, but I didn't.
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: No, I mean, all of it is not their fault.
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: It's how these conventions go. You've got to deal with it.
- 1:33:39Speaker 9: They should have just wheeled Malcolm McDowell's cripple ass in
- 1:33:41Speaker 9: here in his upside-down chair.
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: He's got to lay down for weekends.
- 1:33:44Speaker 9: He's already facing down.
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: Just sign shit while you're there. You're facing the table.
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: We'll just slide pictures underneath your face.
- 1:33:52Speaker 7: Exactly.
- 1:33:52Speaker 2: If he can do it with his eyes closed, he's
- 1:33:53Speaker 2: done it a million times.
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: We can pry your eyes open if you want.
- 1:33:57Speaker 4: Just one.
- 1:33:58Speaker 7: Turn it off.
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it's still.
- 1:34:00Speaker 7: Just from getting old. Because that's a boxing injury, too.
- 1:34:07Speaker 7: I almost had that problem.
- 1:34:09Speaker 2: It just happens. It's something that you can have a
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: genetic predisposition toward. It happened to my mom. She doesn't box,
- 1:34:15Speaker 2: as far as I know.
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: As far as you know.
- 1:34:19Speaker 9: Only on special occasions.
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: Lucy talks back.
- 1:34:24Speaker 7: So my eyesight isn't that great out of my left eye.
- 1:34:26Speaker 9: Your eyesight isn't that great out of either eye.
- 1:34:29Speaker 7: Well, yeah, it's not that great out of either eye.
- 1:34:31Speaker 7: But it's actually worse out of the left eye. But
- 1:34:34Speaker 7: I think at one point we had talked about, I
- 1:34:38Speaker 7: might have talked to my eye doctor, and he was
- 1:34:39Speaker 7: thinking that I was starting to get that detached retina crap.
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: I think it's just when you pry your eyes open
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: and they make you watch scary, horrific scenes for hours
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: on end. So, yeah, thank you to Scarefest. They were
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: very cool and helped us out this week as well.
- 1:34:56Speaker 9: It was a fantastic convention, and I would always recommend it.
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: Yep, definitely. Come and check it out there at thescarefest.com.
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: Plan for next year. Otherwise, yeah, thank you to everybody
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: we talked to. Specifically, this episode, we talked to Tony
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: and Nicholas and Jonathan. So thanks for everybody for putting
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: up with me. And otherwise, any fun Halloween wishes?
- 1:35:18Speaker 9: Happy Halloween. Don't die.
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: Stay away from the pipe.
- 1:35:23Speaker 2: In summary, stay away from the pipe.
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: Otherwise, that about does it. We will return next week
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: for more Halloween fun, I'm assuming. So we will see
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: you then. Same geek time, same geek feed. Thanks for listening.
- 1:35:35Speaker 9: Bye.
- 1:35:36Speaker 6: Children, have you ever met the bogeyman before? No, of
- 1:35:41Speaker 6: course you haven't, for you're much too good, I'm sure.
- 1:35:45Speaker 6: Don't you be afraid of him if he should visit you.
- 1:35:49Speaker 6: He's a great big coward, so I'll tell you what
- 1:35:52Speaker 6: to do.
- 1:35:53Speaker 7: Hush, hush, hush.
- 1:35:55Speaker 6: Here comes the bogeyman. Don't let him come too close
- 1:35:58Speaker 6: to you. He'll catch you if he can. Just pretend
- 1:36:03Speaker 6: that you're a crocodile. And you will find that bogeyman
- 1:36:07Speaker 6: will run away a mile. Say shoo-shoo and stick him
- 1:36:12Speaker 6: with a pin. Bogeyman will very nearly jump out of
- 1:36:16Speaker 6: his skin. Say, buzz, buzz, just like the wasp that stings.
- 1:36:21Speaker 6: Bogeyman will think you are an elephant with wings.
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: Hush, hush, hush, here comes the bogeyman.
- 1:36:34Speaker 6: Tell him you've got soldiers in your bed, for he
- 1:36:38Speaker 6: will never guess that they are only made of lead. Say, hush, hush,
- 1:36:52Speaker 6: he'll think that you're asleep. If you make a lovely
- 1:36:55Speaker 6: snore away, he'll softly creep. Sing this tune, you children
- 1:37:01Speaker 6: one and all. Bogeyman will run away, he'll think it's
- 1:37:05Speaker 6: Henry Hall. When the shadows of the evening creep across
- 1:37:09Speaker 6: the sky, and your mommy comes upstairs to sing a lullaby,
- 1:37:14Speaker 6: Tell her that the bogeyman no longer frightens you. Uncle
- 1:37:18Speaker 6: Henry's very kindly told you what to do.
- 1:37:22Speaker 8: Hush, hush, hush.
- 1:37:24Speaker 6: Here comes the bogeyman. Don't let him come too close
- 1:37:27Speaker 6: to you. He'll catch you.
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: If he can.
- 1:37:30Speaker 6: Just pretend your teddy bear's a dog. Then shout out,
- 1:37:35Speaker 6: fetch him, teddy. And he'll hop off like a frog. Hey, meow,
- 1:37:48Speaker 6: pretend that you're a cat. He'll think you may scratch
- 1:37:52Speaker 6: and that will make him fall down flat. Just pretend
- 1:37:56Speaker 6: he isn't really there. You will find that Bogeyman will
- 1:38:01Speaker 6: finish him thinner.
- 1:38:02Speaker 8: Hey, meow, pretend that you're a cat.
- 1:38:12Speaker 7: Bye, and quit passing out those stupid peanut butter candies.
- 1:38:23Speaker 9: Peanut butter kisses?
- 1:38:24Speaker 7: Those black and yellow abominations. Black and orange. I hate
- 1:38:29Speaker 7: those things.
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: I like peanut butter kisses.
- 1:38:30Speaker 7: Nah, you would.
- 1:38:32Speaker 8: Nice.
- 1:38:33Speaker 9: They're like wrapped in this like waxy paper that's like either.
- 1:38:36Speaker 2: Black or orange.
- 1:38:37Speaker 7: That's all oil and grease stained.
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: That's all it is. It's evil and that's why I
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: like it. They could give you a toothbrush. Just be
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: glad you got that.
- 1:38:47Speaker 7: Those are always the ones that my parents were convinced had.
- 1:38:49Speaker 7: razor blades and needles in them, which is fine.
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: They could have ate those. They're too small for them.
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: I just figured they have a core of weird, creepy
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: peanut butter.
- 1:38:57Speaker 7: Pass out more of the sweet tarts and.
- 1:39:00Speaker 9: You don't go trick-or-treating, so who cares?
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: The end.
