- 0:08Speaker 1: Scalable advice Shure, it's time.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Welcome to the not even I share your hosts.
- 0:17Speaker 3: Shoot.
- 0:17Speaker 2: I'm back from London, everybody, and it is Friday, which
- 0:20Speaker 2: means our dear friend Cory Andrew joins us.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Hey, Corey are you there?
- 0:25Speaker 1: I am here, Hello, and welcome BackRub.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Thank you Darling. I pre taped last week's episode to
- 0:30Speaker 2: get one in, so we didn't get your fabulous, fabulous
- 0:34Speaker 2: insight voice last week, so I'm looking forward to seeing
- 0:36Speaker 2: what you have to say to day my friend.
- 0:38Speaker 3: What time is it? Everybody?
- 0:40Speaker 2: What time is it?
- 0:41Speaker 3: It is tea time.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Big story at the top of the show, coming out
- 0:45Speaker 2: of London, it looks like Harry and Meghan are planning
- 0:48Speaker 2: on giving up the Sussex title. Also, they're going to
- 0:51Speaker 2: use Princess Diana's maiden name, Spencer as their surnames. So
- 0:57Speaker 2: it's no secret that Harry and Meghan are interested in rebranding,
- 1:02Speaker 2: especially on the heels of this Spotify deal that has
- 1:05Speaker 2: collapsed on them. They've lost their Spotify podcast, so that's
- 1:09Speaker 2: gone to worry. They're looking to rebrand, and now The
- 1:11Speaker 2: Daily Express in London is reporting that part of that
- 1:15Speaker 2: brand would be to change their last names and drop
- 1:19Speaker 2: their Mount Batton winsor name and instead go by Spencer,
- 1:23Speaker 2: which is Diana as a maiden name. Sources say they're
- 1:27Speaker 2: really interested in rebranding, and the Sussexes have decided that
- 1:31Speaker 2: Diana will be the center of that.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Quite a smart movie.
- 1:34Speaker 2: If I was a brand expert, which I have been
- 1:37Speaker 2: in the past, yea, and you want to give somebody
- 1:40Speaker 2: a new a new image, there is nothing more powerful
- 1:44Speaker 2: than Princess Diana. So they want to step away from
- 1:46Speaker 2: the family. They've made that clear. Sources are saying they
- 1:49Speaker 2: don't even really want to talk about the family anymore.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Goodness knows, they've done a lot of that already. So
- 1:55Speaker 2: maybe rebranding or is this going to be like when
- 1:58Speaker 2: they try to re brand Coca Cola, which wash?
- 2:04Speaker 3: You know?
- 2:04Speaker 1: I think that of course there's a lot more brand
- 2:07Speaker 1: equity for the public and Princess well and Diana's name.
- 2:11Speaker 1: She's a popular woman still, right. The royal family has
- 2:14Speaker 1: a lot of problems lately, and so it's almost like
- 2:17Speaker 1: you're negative by association really being involved in it these
- 2:20Speaker 1: days with the sex scandals and you know, the Queen
- 2:24Speaker 1: and Prince Charles becoming king. But nobody really caring. Seemingly,
- 2:29Speaker 1: it's tricky, you know, I don't know if it's a
- 2:31Speaker 1: good brand to be associated with. So I think it's
- 2:33Speaker 1: a smart move. Although they run the risk of being
- 2:37Speaker 1: accused of exploiting Diana's name, so it's really risky, very risky.
- 2:41Speaker 2: It is risky, but we should should remember he is
- 2:44Speaker 2: her son. If anybody can take her name, Like if
- 2:47Speaker 2: you and me Corey called ourself Spencer, people would know
- 2:50Speaker 2: we're up to know we would be exploitating the name
- 2:54Speaker 2: Corey Spencer.
- 2:55Speaker 3: So I do like it. I like I like Robert Spencer.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Oh, I guess, but we have no business now, Yeah,
- 3:01Speaker 2: we have no business using that name. It has nothing
- 3:04Speaker 2: to do with us. He has her DNA, he's her son,
- 3:07Speaker 2: so he certainly has a connection to it. At the moment,
- 3:11Speaker 2: Little Archie and Lilibet they have the last name, the
- 3:16Speaker 2: surname Mount Batton Windsor. That is the royal surname. So
- 3:21Speaker 2: Queen Elizabeth was Windsor and so that's why they have
- 3:24Speaker 2: that name. Now if they change this, they would become
- 3:29Speaker 2: Archie Spencer and Lilybert Spencer. I sort of, I think
- 3:35Speaker 2: I like it, But what's really important on the Naughty
- 3:38Speaker 2: but Nice Show is what do you think about this?
- 3:40Speaker 3: Do you like it? Do you not?
- 3:42Speaker 2: What do you think about the sound of Harry and
- 3:47Speaker 2: Meghan Spencer. I can't wait to see what you have
- 3:51Speaker 2: to say. Go vote on our Twitter out page at
- 3:54Speaker 2: Naughty Nice Rabat facebook page is Naughty Gossip and be
- 3:57Speaker 2: sure to check Beck on Monday to hear your results.
- 4:01Speaker 3: Hey, Corey, what are you working on? Yes? Well?
- 4:03Speaker 1: Now in the world of Rock and Roll Royalty, Kelly
- 4:07Speaker 1: Clarkson says that she and her ex see what I
- 4:09Speaker 1: did there? I had a little transition, Yeah, I see well.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Kelly Clarkson says that she and her ex Brandon Blackstock.
- 4:16Speaker 1: You know, they had an exchange about her new album,
- 4:18Speaker 1: and she's opening up about how the album Chemistry addresses
- 4:21Speaker 1: her relationship with Blackstock, and she shared how he feels
- 4:25Speaker 1: about this album. Now, she's the original American Idol winner,
- 4:28Speaker 1: of course, and she's going on to do great things.
- 4:30Speaker 1: She's a huge star. She was asked though, if she
- 4:32Speaker 1: thinks about him listening to her new album, and she says, no,
- 4:35Speaker 1: I don't know if he'd care either way, she said, laughing,
- 4:38Speaker 1: But she then said they had a conversation over text,
- 4:40Speaker 1: and she reminded him that the album doesn't just capture
- 4:44Speaker 1: like negative stuff in the relationship, right because relationships are
- 4:48Speaker 1: ups and downs for everybody. So she says, we did
- 4:50Speaker 1: have a little text exchange about it. I don't remember
- 4:53Speaker 1: why or how, but I was like, hey, I just
- 4:55Speaker 1: didn't diminish us down to one thing, you know what
- 4:57Speaker 1: I'm saying. It's all in there, the whole ride, and
- 5:00Speaker 1: the beauty is in there as well as the pain,
- 5:03Speaker 1: because that's what happens to all of us. And She's right,
- 5:05Speaker 1: relationships are part happy and part sad for many people.
- 5:09Speaker 1: It's a mixture of both. Now, she and Blackstock, of course,
- 5:11Speaker 1: they filed for divorce back in June twenty twenty after
- 5:14Speaker 1: almost seven years of marriage, and they reached a settlement
- 5:18Speaker 1: in March twenty twenty two and they have joint custody
- 5:21Speaker 1: of their two kids now. For the record, Kelly did
- 5:23Speaker 1: clarify on the Today Show that she is not looking
- 5:27Speaker 1: for a romance at all right now again.
- 5:29Speaker 3: So Pete Davidson back exactly.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Yeah, she's trying to kind of you know, and it's
- 5:34Speaker 1: good though. I think it's a wise move when you're
- 5:35Speaker 1: out of a marriage or a long term relationship. You
- 5:38Speaker 1: owe it to yourself. Rob, I think to just be
- 5:40Speaker 1: still and get used to you and learn who you
- 5:42Speaker 1: are again. Right as a single.
- 5:44Speaker 2: I can't be single. I've not been single in a
- 5:47Speaker 2: very long time. But I always had a boyfriend. I know,
- 5:49Speaker 2: sometimes I wish I had a moment when I'd thought
- 5:52Speaker 2: about this stuff. But it's one of those type of
- 5:54Speaker 2: people always needed.
- 5:56Speaker 1: A candle in the wind.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Yes, I like that Kelly's doing this. Now you're a songwriter, though, Corey,
- 6:03Speaker 2: is this something that you should do? Is this the etiquette?
- 6:06Speaker 2: If I'm going to write a song about our relationship,
- 6:09Speaker 2: our love of our falling out, do I need to
- 6:12Speaker 2: text you and give you the heads up?
- 6:14Speaker 3: What do you think?
- 6:15Speaker 1: I think it depends on what that message is that's
- 6:17Speaker 1: in that song. If it's something that you think is
- 6:19Speaker 1: really personal, and when they hear it, it might crush them
- 6:22Speaker 1: to hear it on the radio and they know it's
- 6:24Speaker 1: about them. I think it prompts a little bit of
- 6:26Speaker 1: a warning. Taylor Swift, Yeah, you know what I mean.
- 6:31Speaker 1: John Mayer like they tend to do this justin Timberlake.
- 6:34Speaker 1: They sometimes, you know, songwriting can be used as a weapon,
- 6:38Speaker 1: rob and it's a powerful one if you use it
- 6:40Speaker 1: that way.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 6:42Speaker 2: I was with Jessica Simpson when Nick Lasche they had
- 6:44Speaker 2: broken up and Nick Lache put out his first single.
- 6:47Speaker 3: I don't remember the title of it.
- 6:48Speaker 2: It wasn't a huge hit, but it was like a
- 6:49Speaker 2: crimea river, right, It was like what Justin Timberlake had
- 6:52Speaker 2: done to Britney Spears. And I was with Jessica and
- 6:55Speaker 2: let me tell you, she cried a rhythm. Yeah, nobody
- 6:57Speaker 2: gave her the heads up. She didn't know about it.
- 6:59Speaker 2: She heard it and we like googled it. We sat
- 7:02Speaker 2: there listening to it on a laptop in the back
- 7:05Speaker 2: of her car, and oh, I know, I know, I.
- 7:08Speaker 3: Know, You've got to be careful.
- 7:09Speaker 2: I think it's about the balance here, and think about
- 7:11Speaker 2: this in your own life. When I want to talk
- 7:14Speaker 2: about friends to other friends or even Bruce to my friends,
- 7:17Speaker 2: I really try to give a balanced opinion, because if
- 7:21Speaker 2: all you do is talk rubbish about your partner to
- 7:24Speaker 2: your friends, then your friends are not going to like
- 7:26Speaker 2: the partner.
- 7:26Speaker 3: And everyone's like, oh, why don't you like my guard?
- 7:29Speaker 2: And I'm like, because you've just been talking rubbish for
- 7:32Speaker 2: two years. I always do try to reflect the good
- 7:35Speaker 2: the bad. It's the balance here, Okay, living a wrong.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Elvis Presley's A State is slamming Priscilla's new film Call
- 7:43Speaker 2: and Get just horrific. So it's based on Priscilla Presley's
- 7:46Speaker 2: memoir Elvis and Me, and the estate is saying it's
- 7:49Speaker 2: basically a money grab. Now this has some fancy people,
- 7:52Speaker 2: so Fia Coppola has directed it without the permission though
- 7:56Speaker 2: of the estates, but it does look like they have
- 7:57Speaker 2: permission from Priscilla, of course is promoting it and supporting
- 8:02Speaker 2: it on her social media. So this is the dilemma here,
- 8:06Speaker 2: This is the basis of all the drama within the
- 8:10Speaker 2: el this estate. Priscilla has different priorities to the Elvis
- 8:15Speaker 2: Presley A State and now she really has nothing to
- 8:19Speaker 2: do with it because her granddaughter, Lisa, Marie's daughter has
- 8:24Speaker 2: taken over the estate. When you've got this much money
- 8:27Speaker 2: at stake, when it's this much power, yeah, people get
- 8:32Speaker 2: a little bit nasty.
- 8:33Speaker 3: But I do believe though.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Priscilla, it's your story, you wrote your book. It's now
- 8:38Speaker 2: going to be a movie. I can't wait to see it.
- 8:41Speaker 2: And just because the people that run the Elvis a
- 8:44Speaker 2: state don't like it, does not mean that it's not
- 8:47Speaker 2: Priscilla's truth.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, but at the same time, it does make
- 8:51Speaker 1: you wonder why she couldn't do it in accordance with
- 8:55Speaker 1: the Graceland estate and with Elvis's the state. If she's
- 8:58Speaker 1: gone to be above board and every thing is going
- 9:00Speaker 1: to be accurate, it's almost like it's purposefully done, not
- 9:03Speaker 1: including them, so you can maybe take a little poetic
- 9:06Speaker 1: license and change things, maybe been the truth a little
- 9:09Speaker 1: bit without conflict. So I don't know, but they just did.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Then didn't she produce the big Elvis move?
- 9:14Speaker 3: Or yeah? What was she supported?
- 9:16Speaker 2: That's right, Austin buy and they liked that. I wonder
- 9:21Speaker 2: if this movie talks about Elvis's drug and the womanizing.
- 9:28Speaker 2: There was a lot of women in his life and
- 9:30Speaker 2: also too, Let's remember Priscilla was very very young when she.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Makes him fifteen or something like that.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Yeah, and so maybe Priscilla's happy to talk about that,
- 9:40Speaker 2: but the estates like, we don't want to talk about this.
- 9:44Speaker 2: You see how states jump in and try to rewrite history.
- 9:49Speaker 2: This has certainly happened with the Michael Jackson. Sure, did
- 9:53Speaker 2: you go to see his musical on Broadway. I loved it,
- 9:56Speaker 2: But it doesn't mention any of the battle scandals, Elli
- 10:00Speaker 2: mentions plastic surgery, or the criminal aspects the child abuse allegations.
- 10:07Speaker 2: It just puts out the positive. And I honestly do
- 10:10Speaker 2: believe these celebrity stories are more interesting if you tell
- 10:15Speaker 2: the whole picture of the whole story.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Yeah, but that's such a heinous part of Michael Jackson's legacy, unfortunately,
- 10:22Speaker 1: I mean, you know, I would definitely try not to
- 10:24Speaker 1: talk about that.
- 10:25Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Did you watch the Whitney Houston biopic that I think
- 10:30Speaker 2: dealt very well with all the aspects of Whitney's life.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Obviously her family was involved and it was positive.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Yeah, but they.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Didn't shy away from from some of the allegations. It
- 10:41Speaker 2: was really well done.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Oh Okay, I didn't see it. I couldn't get past
- 10:43Speaker 1: that actress. That actress looked just like Brandy to me,
- 10:46Speaker 1: so I couldn't. There's every time I looked at her,
- 10:48Speaker 1: I was like, was just the Brandy biopic? Or am
- 10:50Speaker 1: my wife and Whitney? So I didn't even I couldn't
- 10:51Speaker 1: even look at it.
- 10:52Speaker 2: So no, she does right, Okay, Moving along, we have
- 10:58Speaker 2: some Kendall news.
- 11:00Speaker 3: Is she up?
- 11:01Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 11:01Speaker 1: You know, this is a really interesting story coming from
- 11:03Speaker 1: someone who's so famous in a famous family. So Kendall
- 11:06Speaker 1: Jenner says that she has always felt out of place
- 11:08Speaker 1: in her family, like dealing with fame, and she says,
- 11:11Speaker 1: I didn't choose this life, right. She clarifies that I
- 11:14Speaker 1: didn't choose this life of fame. I was born into it,
- 11:16Speaker 1: she says. Now the Kardashian Family supermodel explained how she's
- 11:20Speaker 1: made peace with her life in the spotlight along her
- 11:22Speaker 1: famous family. But she says, since I was really young,
- 11:25Speaker 1: I felt out of place in my family. You know,
- 11:27Speaker 1: she's twenty seven now, she's looking back and she says,
- 11:30Speaker 1: I was born into this life, but I didn't choose it.
- 11:32Speaker 1: And she also added, I'm not built for this by
- 11:35Speaker 1: any means. I'm not good at it.
- 11:36Speaker 3: I do it.
- 11:37Speaker 1: I've learned how to do it. But you know, she
- 11:39Speaker 1: compared to Kim and the other girls who like they eat,
- 11:42Speaker 1: sleep and breathe fame. You know, she reminds us that
- 11:45Speaker 1: she was just eleven years old when the Keeping Up
- 11:47Speaker 1: with the Kardashian Show premier. She was a baby and
- 11:50Speaker 1: it launched her whole family into household name status. Now
- 11:53Speaker 1: she's carved out her own career now as a supermodel.
- 11:56Speaker 1: She's done some beautiful work, but she says that she's different.
- 12:00Speaker 1: You know, Kim would just kind of come home and say, yeah,
- 12:02Speaker 1: I just got photographed that Kit's in and Rappertson on
- 12:04Speaker 1: you know, down on Santa Monica or something, you know,
- 12:07Speaker 1: that was like Kim's life And because Kim is built
- 12:10Speaker 1: for it, Kendall says. And she also says that, you know,
- 12:13Speaker 1: it took her, like I'm of twenty years to be like, Okay,
- 12:16Speaker 1: I guess I can do it now. But I love
- 12:19Speaker 1: that she's looking back on it because she's carved out
- 12:21Speaker 1: her own name for herself too. She's not using like
- 12:24Speaker 1: the you know, the platform. Really, you know, supermodel work
- 12:29Speaker 1: is very different than what Kim does.
- 12:31Speaker 3: It is different.
- 12:32Speaker 2: And yeah, I admire her. I've met all these Kardashians
- 12:35Speaker 2: and Tendaal is different. She's not Kim. Yeah, Kim really
- 12:39Speaker 2: was built for this. I love that expression. I was
- 12:42Speaker 2: just back home in Britain with my family, and I
- 12:45Speaker 2: also didn't feel like I necessarily fitting like when I
- 12:50Speaker 2: was growing up, I fell out of place. I don't
- 12:52Speaker 2: know me too because I'm gay.
- 12:54Speaker 3: I don't know if it's because my.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Arm was damaged. But my family wasn't built to really
- 12:59Speaker 2: obsor to have a kid like me. I was very different.
- 13:04Speaker 2: I mean I'm very odd now. I was even more
- 13:06Speaker 2: weird when I was little. And my dad is just
- 13:09Speaker 2: such an old fashioned him as a policeman, he's such
- 13:12Speaker 2: an old fashioned conservative type guy.
- 13:15Speaker 3: He had this little guy little son who wanted.
- 13:17Speaker 2: To go to ballet class and wanted to do spins
- 13:20Speaker 2: around the playground. They just didn't know what to do
- 13:23Speaker 2: with me. And going back, it was lovely to see
- 13:25Speaker 2: that I have found my place. It's a different place,
- 13:27Speaker 2: and I am different to all my brothers and sisters,
- 13:30Speaker 2: but it was lovely to see I finally fit. And
- 13:32Speaker 2: the reason I fit is because I am not trying
- 13:35Speaker 2: to be one of the guy like just now and myself,
- 13:39Speaker 2: and they've really adapted.
- 13:41Speaker 3: When you were growing up, Corey.
- 13:42Speaker 2: I see all those pictures you pop up on the
- 13:44Speaker 2: old Instagram, Facebook, your modeling days, you're singing days. How
- 13:49Speaker 2: did your family? How did you fit in with your family?
- 13:52Speaker 1: You know, I love what you just said because I
- 13:53Speaker 1: was very similar to you. I stood out too, and
- 13:56Speaker 1: they were kind of like, what do we do with him?
- 13:57Speaker 1: I wanted to go to dancing class and they want
- 13:59Speaker 1: me to go to they wanted me to go to
- 14:00Speaker 1: karate class, and if anything, I was like, no, I
- 14:03Speaker 1: want to be burish in to gov thank you, and
- 14:05Speaker 1: so yeah, it was really tricky. But my mom, God
- 14:08Speaker 1: bless her. At one point she said, just be yourself
- 14:12Speaker 1: and she to this day embraces me for who I
- 14:16Speaker 1: am and it was the best advice she ever can
- 14:18Speaker 1: give me. And she is really supportive. So yeah, let
- 14:20Speaker 1: your kids, Let your kids be who they're going to be.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Be who they want to be, and make sure that
- 14:26Speaker 2: you were choosing this life. If you're living a life
- 14:29Speaker 2: that you didn't choose, you have to change it. I
- 14:32Speaker 2: didn't choose the life that I was born into in Birmingham,
- 14:36Speaker 2: England and industrial town. I wanted to get to London,
- 14:39Speaker 2: New York. I wanted to live in the big city
- 14:42Speaker 2: and so I chose to do that. And I think
- 14:45Speaker 2: that ultimately is really the secret to success. Find a
- 14:51Speaker 2: place where you fit in and make sure you were
- 14:54Speaker 2: choosing the life that you have. Who would think Kendall
- 14:58Speaker 2: Jenna would lead us into this quite deep conversation when
- 15:02Speaker 2: she said it, this is something that Kim.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Would never say.
- 15:05Speaker 2: It's so deep and so interesting, and so I just
- 15:09Speaker 2: love it. Okay, We're going to take a quick break
- 15:11Speaker 2: and we will be right back. Welcome back to the
- 15:15Speaker 2: Naughty but Nice Show. I'm a rubb shoot with our
- 15:17Speaker 2: dear friend Corey Andrew Spencer, who I like it.
- 15:22Speaker 1: I love it.
- 15:23Speaker 3: Okay, let's get to the polls.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Last year we talked about Bethany Frankel who's been flaunting
- 15:30Speaker 2: her massive engagement ring and people are saying she's out
- 15:33Speaker 2: of touch.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Is she just desperate for attention? Yes?
- 15:42Speaker 2: Now, I was watching the New Sex and the City
- 15:44Speaker 2: and just like that, and they have a dig at
- 15:47Speaker 2: Bethan the first episode. Really she's already responded. And so
- 15:50Speaker 2: what's happening is Carrie Bradshaw is out in the Hampton's
- 15:53Speaker 2: and she says, I almost bought a house in the
- 15:56Speaker 2: Hampton's the character Carrien, but you know, didn't quite feel right.
- 16:01Speaker 2: But I nearly did it six or seven times. And
- 16:03Speaker 2: the real estate broker said was the reason. Bethany Frankle,
- 16:08Speaker 2: because she lives it's a it's a funny and you know, what.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Bethany's not angry by it. She loves the attention.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Yeah, of course, of course, she's already responded. She's trying
