- 0:23SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: Welcome to another episode of The Operator Seat.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: I'm your host, Landon.
- 0:28SPEAKER_02: I'm your host, Sabrina.
- 0:30SPEAKER_02: Welcome.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: Welcome.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: We're excited for you to join us today.
- 0:34SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 0:34SPEAKER_02: I was just convincing Landon we should do like an off-the-cuff episode because it's been a day.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: It has been a day, and I'm terrified.
- 0:42SPEAKER_02: It has been a day.
- 0:43SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, this is like my jam because I don't have to be, I don't feel like I have to be scripted in any way.
- 0:51SPEAKER_02: Not that we're ever scripted.
- 0:52SPEAKER_02: Like we honestly, we were just talking about this.
- 0:55SPEAKER_02: We never know, like we try to prepare, obviously, and we look at questions in advance, but we never know what each other's gonna say.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: No.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: We're trying to read each other's faces and go from there.
- 1:07SPEAKER_02: The entire time.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, which is scary.
- 1:09SPEAKER_02: Sometimes you say something and I zone out, not because I mean to, but it's just I have a problem.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: I'm worried, ladies and gentlemen, is what you're saying.
- 1:20SPEAKER_02: I have a problem.
- 1:21SPEAKER_02: I am psychotic and I can't hold my attention.
- 1:25SPEAKER_02: Nobody can hold my attention.
- 1:27SPEAKER_02: Not even me.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Well, you know, sometimes you get lost in your own head.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: I do.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: Scary place to be.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 1:33SPEAKER_02: And yeah.
- 1:34SPEAKER_02: Sometimes you're you're talking and I'm like, what the hell did he just say?
- 1:39SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 1:40SPEAKER_02: So I apologize in advance if I just ramble.
- 1:44SPEAKER_02: Just what I do.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: Well, that's the reason we have a podcast.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: We have a lot to say.
- 1:48SPEAKER_02: Even about nothing.
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: Like right now.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Correct.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: It's not always listen worthy, but you know, maybe somebody will enjoy it.
- 1:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I feel like somebody's bound to enjoy this episode.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: You know?
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: You uh you said the word psychotic.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: And that makes me think all the time, you know, how how crazy do you have to be to be an operator?
- 2:07SPEAKER_02: You have to be, well, to be a good one.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh.
- 2:09SPEAKER_02: Psychotic.
- 2:12SPEAKER_02: Like super psychotic.
- 2:13SPEAKER_02: Fair.
- 2:14SPEAKER_02: Like, look at me.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: Well, you know, you're you're a dang good operator.
- 2:18SPEAKER_02: Well, thank you.
- 2:20SPEAKER_02: It's such a compliment.
- 2:21SPEAKER_02: The the better you are at operations, the more psychotic you have to be.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: That's fair.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: You have a lot going on.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: For sure.
- 2:28SPEAKER_02: Like super dynamic all the time.
- 2:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:30SPEAKER_02: Thinking on your feet.
- 2:32SPEAKER_02: We just talked about that in our last episode.
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: Like always thinking ahead.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: Bouncing around.
- 2:39SPEAKER_02: I literally can go from talking to you about one thing to talking about the next thing, and I have no idea what we just said.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: Luckily, I have you because you help keep me organized.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: I love to take notes.
- 2:53SPEAKER_02: I'm not organized.
- 2:54SPEAKER_02: I wonder how many operators like I can function like I'm very organized, but I'm not organized at all.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I've You're very organized.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: Sometimes I think I've had like a chance to reset.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: But I also think like once you get down to a certain time, it's like your email inbox where like once you have like five 5,000 unread emails, it's like Oh my gosh, that's my personal inbox.
- 3:19SPEAKER_02: I used to be so good at checking it every day.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: I have 62,000 unread emails right now.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: Okay, I'm not sure.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: And it's driving me insane.
- 3:26SPEAKER_02: It will be that bad soon because I've been so overwhelmed I can't check it.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: I'm the same.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: I've tried the apps to where like you go through and you delete all of them.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: One time I got it down like 10,000 emails less than what it was, and I gave up again.
- 3:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that I would give up.
- 3:42SPEAKER_02: Like once you're over a thousand, there's like no hope.
- 3:45SPEAKER_02: Where would ten thousand?
- 3:47SPEAKER_02: Just let it go.
- 3:47SPEAKER_02: Because it's all these spams.
- 3:48SPEAKER_02: You got rid of ten thousand emails.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because it's all these spam emails I get.
- 3:52SPEAKER_02: Oh.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 3:53SPEAKER_02: How do you get rid of that many?
- 3:55SPEAKER_02: You're saying there's a apps now.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they make apps to where you can like maybe they'll sponsor us.
- 3:59SPEAKER_02: Ooh.
- 3:59SPEAKER_02: This is a good plug.
- 4:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: What's an app?
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: I don't remember the name of it, so we're screwed for sponsoring.
- 4:05SPEAKER_02: Okay, well, we love them all.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: But if your business wants to sponsor us, we'll talk about it.
- 4:10SPEAKER_02: We will talk about how much we love it if we believe in it.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: She doesn't care about it.
- 4:14SPEAKER_02: I'm very judgmental.
- 4:16SPEAKER_02: I'm very judgmental.
- 4:18SPEAKER_02: Are you tired of me yet?
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: Not Miss Lightis.
- 4:21SPEAKER_02: Robin's probably like, I need to come pick pick my son up.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: Do you know that uh I think it's from The Parent Trap where the boy is at the girls' camp?
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: Do you know the parent trap?
- 4:32SPEAKER_02: Yes, I love the parent trap with Lindsay Williams.
- 4:34SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 4:35SPEAKER_02: Yes, that was one of my favorite movies.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: I could see that.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: I know Lindsay.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: Do you know Oreos and Peanut Butter?
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: Yes, of course.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: I love Oreos and Peanut Butter.
- 4:43SPEAKER_02: The Oreo and the Peanut Butter?
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: Who's making there's somebody making a maybe it's Dairy Queen.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: No.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: It might be Oreo that's making like an Oreo peanut butter combo.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but it's like it's for the parent trap.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: So I don't know where I saw that.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: It was very cute.
- 5:00SPEAKER_02: I love that movie.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Maybe it was a random TikTok recipe.
- 5:03SPEAKER_02: Maybe.
- 5:04SPEAKER_02: That's yeah.
- 5:05SPEAKER_02: You you do have a lot of recipes.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: I know I love a good recipe.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: I haven't cooked in a minute.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: Because I was eating tamales for 14 years.
- 5:13SPEAKER_02: I was telling who was I telling that story to?
- 5:15SPEAKER_02: Oh, Brandon, my husband.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: Lovely.
- 5:17SPEAKER_02: I was telling him that story, I think Saturday, and I was like, yeah.
- 5:21SPEAKER_02: And he ate tamales for 12 days straight.
- 5:25SPEAKER_02: And Brandon was like, well, he's like living the bachelor life.
- 5:28SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 5:28SPEAKER_02: The man knows.
- 5:29SPEAKER_02: I was like, yeah, but you wouldn't eat tamales for 12 days straight.
- 5:32SPEAKER_02: I'm like talking shit about you eating tamales for 12 days.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: I'm like, Landon, that is psychotic.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: Which is why you're a good operator.
- 5:42SPEAKER_02: You know?
- 5:42SPEAKER_02: I think I was talking about how frugal you are.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: Oh, I yeah.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: And uh overly frugal.
- 5:48SPEAKER_02: Oh, yes, you'll like this because Brandon said that that was surprising because you dress very well and you know, you present very well, and he was like, I just wouldn't expect him to be like super frugal.
- 6:00SPEAKER_02: And so I was like, he would love that compliment.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: We're bougie on a budget, baby.
- 6:04SPEAKER_02: Bougie on a budget.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: That's what I call my lifestyle.
- 6:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 6:07SPEAKER_02: I'm just bougie.
- 6:08SPEAKER_02: I should be on a budget, but I'm not I know it's bad, it's a problem.
- 6:14SPEAKER_02: But I've gotten better.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 6:16SPEAKER_02: At one point, well, actually, I still do own probably like 100 pairs of sneakers.
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: Holy moly.
- 6:23SPEAKER_02: I need to go through them.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: I need to like buy a pair of sneakers.
- 6:27SPEAKER_02: What size do you wear?
- 6:28SPEAKER_02: Do we wear the same size?
- 6:29SPEAKER_02: I doubt.
- 6:29SPEAKER_02: Probably not.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: I have sasquashed feet.
- 6:32SPEAKER_02: Well, Brandon says I do too as a woman.
- 6:34SPEAKER_02: I'm a size nine.
- 6:36SPEAKER_02: And he calls me Frodo Baggins.
- 6:39SPEAKER_02: He's rude.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: Is that from Lord of the Rings?
- 6:41SPEAKER_02: I think so.
- 6:41SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 6:42SPEAKER_02: I don't really know.
- 6:42SPEAKER_02: I don't either.
- 6:43SPEAKER_02: That's like one of those goblet things.
- 6:45SPEAKER_02: Goblin?
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: Keys?
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: No, rings.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: No, that's a different We don't know.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: I'm not even gonna try.
- 6:52SPEAKER_02: That's the Southern Baptist in you, baby.
- 6:55SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 6:56SPEAKER_02: Like w you can't watch like wizard stuff.
- 6:59SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 6:59SPEAKER_02: That's like that's like the devils.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: We weren't supposed to watch that growing up.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: Didn't watch Harry Potter.
- 7:05SPEAKER_02: Have you ever seen Harry Potter?
- 7:07SPEAKER_02: Sorry, Robin.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: Now I'm just kind of over it.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: Like I I've never like wanted to as an adult.
- 7:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:13SPEAKER_02: But Brandon loves Harry Potter.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: My neighbors did.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: They read the books in like a day.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: It's crazy.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: I was like, you need something to do with your life.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:23SPEAKER_02: But speaking of books, I I had an interview today and he asked me what my favorite book of all time was.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: Did you say The Adventures of Bobby and Bells?
- 7:31SPEAKER_02: Of course I did.
- 7:32SPEAKER_02: And I said I knew the author.
- 7:35SPEAKER_02: So and I had a signed copy.
- 7:37SPEAKER_02: Oh.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: What did you actually say?
- 7:39SPEAKER_02: Uh well I said Bobby and Bells, but then I said Shoe Dog by Phil Knight.
- 7:44SPEAKER_02: Have you ever read that?
- 7:46SPEAKER_02: No.
- 7:46SPEAKER_02: Why are you judging me?
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: Because it sounds like a Yee-haw song, Shoe Dog, Don't Bother Me.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: No, it's I think that's actually Shoe Fly.
- 7:55SPEAKER_02: Shoe fly.
- 7:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:57SPEAKER_02: That's because you you can see me loving a book that says that.
- 8:00SPEAKER_02: Like literally.
- 8:02SPEAKER_02: That's why you said that.
- 8:04SPEAKER_02: Which I would also love.
- 8:05SPEAKER_02: But Shoe Dog by Phil Knight.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: It's about to be like Are you saying D-O-G dog?
- 8:09SPEAKER_02: D-O-G.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: Shoe.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: Shoe dog.
- 8:12SPEAKER_02: But not shoe as in like the verb, shoe as in like the noun.
- 8:17SPEAKER_00: Zapatos.
- 8:18SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 8:19SPEAKER_02: Zapatos.
- 8:20SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 8:21SPEAKER_02: Um, by Phil Knight.
- 8:23SPEAKER_02: He was the founder of Nike.
- 8:26SPEAKER_02: And it he like talks about his story from like how he created like his first shoe and then how he got like all these, you know, super wealthy investors to like believe in him.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: I need to read that.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: That sounds like something I would adore.
- 8:41SPEAKER_02: That's a really good book.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: I uh in college I read the book about shoe show de shoe department and like the story behind how they became a business.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: Wait, what what company?
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: They're cheap shoes, you don't know.
- 8:56SPEAKER_02: Wait, what shoes?
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: Shoe show.
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: What the and shoe department.
- 9:00SPEAKER_02: What is that?
- 9:01SPEAKER_00: It's like a retail shoe.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: It's like um like shoe carnival.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: Shoe yes.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 9:06SPEAKER_02: Is this in the Carolinas?
- 9:08SPEAKER_02: I've never heard of this company.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: Maybe on the East Coast.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: Maybe.
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: Um, shoe department.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I I love stories like that.
- 9:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 9:17SPEAKER_02: I like to see how people I love a good underdog story of like somebody just crushing it.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: Well, then you have like a story of like, okay, you have the founder and like this is what they did, but like then they come in with an operator and like how that changes the business.
- 9:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 9:33SPEAKER_02: Not to bring it back to uh not to bring it back to the operations, but you know I'm gonna You know I'm gonna Yeah, we recorded our last episode, which was 11.
- 9:47SPEAKER_02: And I was talking to Landon after, and I was like, What did I just say?
- 9:51SPEAKER_02: I don't even know what I just said.
- 9:52SPEAKER_02: So then that led us down this rabbit hole of talking about how psychotic we are.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: Then we wanted to just record one about how psychotic we are.
- 10:03SPEAKER_02: We just figured we would turn the mics on for this conversation because this is just a regular everyday occurrence.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: We literally stay after hours.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: I'm not talking like 30 minutes, I'm saying hours.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: Like we'll look at the clock and it's like seven, eight o'clock.
- 10:19SPEAKER_02: Yes, or nine.
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: Or nine.
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: And I'm calling Robin, she's like, Are you still at work?
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: I was like, Yeah, Sabrina and I were talking operations.
- 10:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 10:25SPEAKER_02: I'll get home at like 10 p.m.
- 10:27SPEAKER_02: because I live like an hour away.
- 10:28SPEAKER_02: I'll get home at like nine or ten p.m.
- 10:30SPEAKER_02: sometimes.
- 10:31SPEAKER_02: And my husband's like, You poor thing, you've had such a long day.
- 10:34SPEAKER_02: I'm like, Yeah, it's so bad.
- 10:36SPEAKER_02: It is, it was a rough day.
- 10:38SPEAKER_02: And then I had to stay after and talk about it.
- 10:41SPEAKER_02: I mean, I don't say that, but now he'll he'll know.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: Oh, sorry.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: We we disclosed the secret.
- 10:47SPEAKER_02: It's okay.
- 10:48SPEAKER_02: He probably assumes anyway.
- 10:50SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 10:50SPEAKER_02: Because he knows we're besties.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 10:53SPEAKER_02: But yeah, we just wanted to plug in and we were having this crazy conversation, and then I told Landon to turn the mics on, and he was a little panicked.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: Oh, I did.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: I did panic a minute.
- 11:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: But see, we have good banter though.
- 11:08SPEAKER_02: We do have good banter.
- 11:09SPEAKER_02: We just keep going.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: Maybe we should do two different podcasts.
- 11:12SPEAKER_02: The operator seat.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: And then whatever this is.
- 11:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:17SPEAKER_02: Well, see, this is like my version of the operator's seat.
- 11:22SPEAKER_02: Landon would kill me.
- 11:24SPEAKER_00: No, I wouldn't.
- 11:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you can or I would get us canceled one of the two.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: Well, that might happen.
- 11:29SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 11:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:31SPEAKER_02: I wonder if Robin still likes me.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: Oh Robin.
- 11:33SPEAKER_02: Robin is Landon's mom.
- 11:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:35SPEAKER_02: She's wonderful.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: She loves you.
- 11:37SPEAKER_02: She does still.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: She does, yes.
- 11:38SPEAKER_02: Thanks, Robin.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: Robin and Chris love you.
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: We're uh we're gonna bring you out to the Carolinas one day.
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: I do want to go.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: I would love to go.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: It's a beautiful place.
- 11:47SPEAKER_01: I've never been there.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: You need to.
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: You would love Asheville.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: The architecture, you would love the Biltmore house.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: It's fancy, like you.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: Um what else?
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: Bougie.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: The bougie is bougie.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: Uh just the cost of living in Asheville is just bougie.
- 12:03SPEAKER_02: So I'm in my element when I'm in a bougie place.
- 12:08SPEAKER_02: I was meant to be a millionaire.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: Yes, you were.
- 12:11SPEAKER_00: Am I?
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: No.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: Multimillionaire.
- 12:13SPEAKER_02: But maybe one day.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: She's on her way.
- 12:15SPEAKER_02: Maybe one day.
- 12:16SPEAKER_02: We were talking about Kim K today.
- 12:19unknown: Who?
- 12:19SPEAKER_02: Were you a part of that conversation?
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: No.
- 12:21SPEAKER_02: I was talking to somebody about Kim Kardashian and how, you know, I don't know if you've seen the new commercial for her energy drinks where she's like, I didn't pass the bar, I raised it.
- 12:34SPEAKER_02: And I was like, you go, girl.
- 12:36SPEAKER_02: Even though you didn't pass the bar, you're still making something out of it.
- 12:40SPEAKER_02: And I love that for you.
- 12:41SPEAKER_02: Like that is just owning who you are.
- 12:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:46SPEAKER_02: You know, I don't remember what her energy drink is called, but I do know that.
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: What if she sponsored us?
- 12:53SPEAKER_02: Maybe.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: Kim K, if you're listening.
- 12:55SPEAKER_02: Kim K, bring us on your show.
- 12:58SPEAKER_02: We would be a great reality TV show.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: Oh, yes.
- 13:02SPEAKER_02: We would get probably canceled, but hey, any press is good press.
- 13:05SPEAKER_00: If the Kardashians haven't been canceled, we won't get canceled.
- 13:08SPEAKER_02: That's true.
- 13:09SPEAKER_02: You know what my favorite Kardashian quote is?
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: What?
- 13:12SPEAKER_02: Um, when have you did you have you watched that show?
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: No.
- 13:16SPEAKER_02: You've never watched it.
- 13:17SPEAKER_02: I mean, I've seen like bits, but Okay, well, you've had to have seen this where they got in trouble for saying, like, you someone asked him a question of like, how did you become so successful or what advice can you give to other people about being successful?
- 13:31SPEAKER_02: And I think it was Kim that said, like, get off your ass and go to work.
- 13:37SPEAKER_02: And she got in so much trouble for saying that because, like, you know, other people, normal people out here, are like, we've got so many responsibilities, and you're just talking about how easy it is to just get up and work.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: If only.
- 13:52SPEAKER_02: So that's the kind of shit that I would be canceled for, though.
- 13:54SPEAKER_02: Fair.
- 13:55SPEAKER_02: Because I would say something like that.
- 13:56SPEAKER_02: Fair.
- 13:57SPEAKER_02: I'm pretty sure you've said that to me before.
- 14:00SPEAKER_02: And uh people would hate me.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: No.
- 14:04SPEAKER_02: I'm an acquired taste.
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: They misunderstand you.
- 14:07SPEAKER_02: That's true.
- 14:08SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 14:08SPEAKER_02: You're so sweet.
- 14:10SPEAKER_02: I don't have a lot of feelings.
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: Yes, you do.
- 14:14SPEAKER_02: You've seen me cry already.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: Not everybody has that honor.
- 14:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 14:20SPEAKER_02: I'm sure you were like, Oh, and then as I was crying, Landon leaned over and he was like, What'd you say?
- 14:27SPEAKER_02: You said um, crying isn't weakness.
- 14:30SPEAKER_02: Because I was like, I'm just so mad.
- 14:32SPEAKER_02: I'm so pissed off.
- 14:33SPEAKER_02: That's why I'm crying.
- 14:34SPEAKER_02: And you were he like touched me on my shoulder and he said, Crying isn't weakness.
- 14:39SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, shut up.
- 14:40SPEAKER_02: Heck up, Landon.
- 14:42SPEAKER_02: I was just trying to be No, it was very sweet.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: Yes, no, you did not want to hear that.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: I should have known better.
- 14:48SPEAKER_02: I what did I did?
- 14:50SPEAKER_02: I even say anything to you.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: No, you probably wrong.
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: I think we laughed at that point.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: I think you probably laughed because that probably just pissed you off even more.
- 14:58SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh, I was like, I g I should have said thank you for trying to console me.
- 15:04SPEAKER_00: I should have known better.
- 15:06SPEAKER_02: It was it was wonderful.
- 15:08SPEAKER_02: It was a great time.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: It was a time to be remembered.
- 15:13SPEAKER_02: Yes, yes, yeah.
- 15:15SPEAKER_02: But yeah, what a crazy few weeks we've had.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: It has been but good.
- 15:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: We learn from it.
- 15:22SPEAKER_02: We do, and we grow.
- 15:24SPEAKER_02: We grow.
- 15:25SPEAKER_02: And sometimes we go on our podcast and we just are too tired to answer a real question because we know we can't give you our all.
- 15:35SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 15:36SPEAKER_02: But we know that Jameson, our producer, is expecting us to record a podcast and we can't half ass anything.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: No.
- 15:43SPEAKER_02: So what we're good at is just talking.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: Oh, that is yeah.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: I feel like good operators are good at talking though.
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: Because sometimes you gotta BS your way through it.
- 15:53SPEAKER_02: That is very true.
- 15:54SPEAKER_02: And that is exhausting.
- 15:56SPEAKER_02: It is.
- 15:56SPEAKER_02: But when I can be authentically myself, it's not.
- 16:00SPEAKER_02: So that's why we have the podcast.
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: But you're good at myself can be exhausting.
- 16:07SPEAKER_02: You're good at uh even like not not faking it, but like you can have conversations with almost anybody about anything.
- 16:16SPEAKER_02: I don't have that gift.
- 16:18SPEAKER_02: Like I my nightmare situation is being somewhere with a bunch of random people I don't know and having to talk about like the weather or something stupid.
- 16:30SPEAKER_02: Like I can't fake conversation.
- 16:33SPEAKER_02: If I don't have anything to say to you, I just won't say anything.
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:37SPEAKER_02: And I can't misunderstood.
- 16:39SPEAKER_02: I can't fake it because it's not like yes, just not authentic to who I am.
- 16:44SPEAKER_02: So I'll talk to you about my deepest, darkest secrets, and that'll be fine.
- 16:48SPEAKER_02: But I can't talk to you about like, you know, oh, it's cold outside.
- 16:53SPEAKER_00: Oh, I love.
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: So how about that San Antonio weather?
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: My gosh.
- 16:58SPEAKER_02: I'm like, it's hot.
- 17:00SPEAKER_02: I don't know what to tell you.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but those questions, so you so I'm the person on the airplane next to you that you're just trying to, oh no, I'm not.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: That's not who I am as a person.
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: I put my headphones in, no, I promise.
- 17:12SPEAKER_02: Well, I mean, I know you, so I'd just be like, Landon, I can't talk right now.
- 17:15SPEAKER_02: Correct.
- 17:15SPEAKER_02: I'm on an airplane.
- 17:16SPEAKER_02: I'll send you reels on Instagram instead.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: Or we'll just talk about people on the plane.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 17:22SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 17:23SPEAKER_02: I had a f we had to fly Southwest a few weeks ago.
- 17:27SPEAKER_02: It was bad.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: Her worst nightmare.
- 17:29SPEAKER_02: It was literally, I got on the the plane and like we paid to because now Southwest has like, I guess, assigned seating, but you there's still no like business class or like there's it's not Delta.
- 17:45SPEAKER_02: It's not Delta.
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: Well, Southwest ain't sponsoring us, that's for sure.
- 17:48SPEAKER_02: Sorry, Southwest.
- 17:50SPEAKER_02: But like it's just my opinion.
- 17:52SPEAKER_02: I don't want to be sued for this.
- 17:54SPEAKER_02: It's just like it's just a eclectic group of people on the Southwest airline planes.
- 18:02SPEAKER_02: That's what it was.
- 18:03SPEAKER_02: It was insane.
- 18:04SPEAKER_02: I was texting Landon the entire time.
- 18:06SPEAKER_02: Like I was scared for my life.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: I was scared for you.
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: Fortunately, I didn't have bad mates, but seatmates.
- 18:13SPEAKER_02: You didn't?
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: Mm-mm.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: I don't think so.
- 18:16SPEAKER_02: You probably are just so nice you you don't even know.
- 18:19SPEAKER_00: Or I just ignored him the whole way.
- 18:21SPEAKER_02: There was somebody that was like critically ill.
- 18:25SPEAKER_02: Like on the not in my row, but the row right across from me.
- 18:29SPEAKER_02: Oh gosh.
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: They were like I don't know why they were on the plane.
- 18:32SPEAKER_02: They were like critically ill.
- 18:34SPEAKER_02: I'm saying like they looked like death.
- 18:36SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 18:37SPEAKER_02: And it was kind of alarming, and I just didn't look at them.
- 18:41SPEAKER_02: And then in front of me was like people that clearly usually fly Delta that were also on the Southwest flight, and they were like they were like the asshole version, though.
- 18:51SPEAKER_02: I'm like, I can go with the flow.
- 18:54SPEAKER_02: I can like kind of fake it, maybe, and like get by and like I'm not rude to like the staff ever because you know it's not their fault they work for Southwest.
- 19:03SPEAKER_02: So like there's like different, you know, you're just you can't be an asshole to people, but why are you looking at me like that?
- 19:13SPEAKER_00: I'm listening.
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: Just like the rest of our listeners, we definitely need a second type of podcast that we're realizing.
- 19:22SPEAKER_02: I'm just kidding.
- 19:23SPEAKER_02: If you work for Southwest, I'm proud of you.
- 19:26SPEAKER_02: And I my thoughts are with you.
- 19:29SPEAKER_02: I'm just saying, number one, I don't think that they pay very well compared to Delta.
- 19:34SPEAKER_02: Their employees are never that happy.
- 19:36SPEAKER_02: What data do you have to buy that though?
- 19:38SPEAKER_02: I'm this is going straight off feeling.
- 19:40SPEAKER_02: This is like vibing feeling.
- 19:43SPEAKER_02: But I would probably bet money that Delta pays their team members more and takes better care of them.
- 19:50SPEAKER_02: Because Delta, like the experience that I have on Delta with team members of Delta, are much more pleasant.
- 19:57SPEAKER_00: It's all about culture.
- 19:58SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna get us canceled now.
- 20:00SPEAKER_02: Sorry, this is our last podcast.
- 20:02SPEAKER_00: We'll start another one.
- 20:03SPEAKER_02: It's all about culture.
- 20:04SPEAKER_02: See, that's why culture is important.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: It is.
- 20:07SPEAKER_02: Let's I'm gonna look up the data.
- 20:09SPEAKER_02: Okay, the pay scales from Southwest versus Delta.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: And we'll report back.
- 20:15SPEAKER_02: And we will report back.
- 20:16SPEAKER_02: And I'm sorry if I offended anybody.
- 20:19SPEAKER_02: Landon is dying inside.
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: We're airline operators now.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: See, our podcast is for all operations.
- 20:25SPEAKER_02: It really is.
- 20:26SPEAKER_02: Southwest, it's just my opinion.
- 20:29SPEAKER_02: I'm not saying this is fact.
- 20:31SPEAKER_02: This is just my observation from being on a Southwest flight the last in the last few weeks.
- 20:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 20:39SPEAKER_02: Jameson, if this is if this is gonna get me in trouble, just don't air this podcast.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 20:49SPEAKER_02: Well, on that's like we gotta we gotta leave now.
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: No, this has been fun.
- 20:55SPEAKER_00: We hope you enjoyed it.
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: If uh if you enjoy this type of podcast, let us know.
- 21:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and if you don't, let us know so I can shut my mouth and just continue on with operations.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: Well, I was gonna say don't let us know, but that's just the two and me and the eight and you.
- 21:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, let us know.
- 21:14SPEAKER_02: So Landon isn't dying.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: Oh, I'm not dying.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: I enjoyed it.
- 21:18SPEAKER_02: I I I can tell.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: Well, thanks for listening, everyone.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: We'll catch you next time on the operator seat.
