- 0:56our special programming. I'd like to read from Psalm 46.
- 1:02God is our refuge and strength have very present help and
- 1:07trouble. Therefore we will not fear.
- 1:13Even though the earth be removed, and though the
- 1:18mountains be carried into the midst of the sea, though its
- 1:22waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with
- 1:25its swelling, there is a river whose streams shall make glad.
- 1:29The city of God, the holy place of the Tabernacle.
- 1:33The Most High God is in the midst of her.
- 1:36She shall not be moved. God shall help her.
- 1:41Just at the break of dawn, the nation's rage, the kingdoms
- 1:45removed, He uttered his voice. The earth melted.
- 1:51The Lord of hosts is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge.
- 1:56Come, behold the works of the Lord who has made desolations in
- 1:59the earth. He makes wars cease to the end
- 2:02of the earth. He breaks the bow and cuts the
- 2:04spear in two. He burns a chariot in the fire.
- 2:08Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the
- 2:13nations. I will be exalted in the earth.
- 2:16The Lord of hosts is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge.
- 2:22Amen. Let's pray, Father God, this is
- 2:27a very, very, very special Sunday for your bride all over
- 2:34the earth, Lord, where believers are gathering together in Jesus
- 2:39name and pastors are asking you to anoint them and pour through
- 2:45them that they might bring hope and comfort and peace in the
- 2:53midst of so many different kind of emotions of fear, anxiety,
- 2:58anger, whatever it is, Lord, that we are struggling with.
- 3:03We lay all these things before you today.
- 3:07As Erica said in her testimony the other night, Charlie's wife
- 3:13that she doesn't understand any of this, but she says you do,
- 3:18Lord, you know, you understand, you know why it was Charlie's
- 3:27time to commend your presence. And Lord, we're all grieving as
- 3:33a soldier, as a martyr, left this world doing the best she
- 3:37could. Not a perfect guy.
- 3:40He made mistakes like we all do. Lord, he said things that I'm
- 3:43sure at times He said, why did I say it that way?
- 3:48And the same with me or Lewis or anybody else that proclaims
- 3:51messages in the church and the Word of God.
- 3:55Sometimes the way we say things aren't really the way we want to
- 3:58say them from our heart that has come out wrong and then people
- 4:01are offended or they don't understand.
- 4:04I pray, Lord, there would be no offense today and what it is we
- 4:07do here. First of all, what really
- 4:09matters is you and that we do exactly what you want us to do
- 4:14today in this service, to share your word, to talk about things,
- 4:19to listen. And Lord, the only side we want
- 4:23to be on is your side Lord. So Lord, fill us with your
- 4:28spirit today and have your way in all of us.
- 4:31We pray in Jesus name, Amen. So I wanted to thank you for
- 4:36coming today, those of you who are here in the building
- 4:39personally and those who are watching on YouTube and
- 4:43listening on Grace FM. We stream these services live.
- 4:47So it's a blessing. We're glad you're here.
- 4:51I'm encouraged to see you here. We need each other and we'll
- 4:56talk about that a little bit in First Corinthians 12, how every
- 4:59part of Christ's body is important and how we comfort and
- 5:03strengthen each other through the different gifts that He
- 5:05gives us. This past week unbelievable
- 5:11emotions. I was working out in Doylestown,
- 5:15PA and and my phone started blowing up with Texas.
- 5:20I was wondering what's going on something serious must have
- 5:24happened. And then I my daughter Jessica
- 5:27told me that Charlie was shot. I I couldn't believe it.
- 5:33Immediately I went to prayer and asked the Lord for mercy and
- 5:38healing and that He would be able to still be with us.
- 5:44And shortly after that, it was documented that he didn't make
- 5:47it. He died and he went into the
- 5:49presence of our Lord Jesus. The sadness, the pain of our
- 5:58hearts is beyond understanding. A lot of people have confusion.
- 6:11A lot of Christians have confusion.
- 6:13They're asking how could this happen?
- 6:14Why did it happen? But Erica's testimony, if you
- 6:19didn't see it the other night, we did send it out by e-mail to
- 6:22all of the people that are on constant contact with Calvary
- 6:26Chapel. So it's another good reason to
- 6:28sign up. So you do get feedback from the
- 6:31pastors. How are we processing this?
- 6:33How are we dealing with it? And she knows God's sovereign,
- 6:40and she proclaimed that it was his time.
- 6:44And the things she said in that time with her testimony were
- 6:52overwhelmingly anointed by the Spirit of God, the presence of
- 6:57God, the truth of God, the glory of God, the power of God, the
- 7:02grace of God, and the goodness of God in the midst of something
- 7:06that is just hard to grasp. So if you haven't seen that
- 7:12testimony, look it up online. If you want our constant
- 7:16contact, sign up for it and you'll you'll get information on
- 7:19how we deal with these things. Turning Point.
- 7:25I didn't know a whole lot about it because I'm an old guy.
- 7:28I'm not like on college campuses interacting with thousands and
- 7:34thousands of young people, but that's what Charlie did.
- 7:40He had a vision when he was a young man, 16 years old, talking
- 7:46about what he wanted to do and how he wanted to be used by God
- 7:51to get this current generation on board with biblical Christian
- 7:57thinking and morality. And I don't have to tell you, if
- 8:02you read the news and you're familiar with Columbia and some
- 8:05of these other colleges that are refuting the truth of Jesus
- 8:10Christ and also the reason why the United States of America was
- 8:16founded, you'll understand why this man, his ministry was so
- 8:21dynamic. The impact of Turning Point 9000
- 8:28chapters on college campuses as we speak today. 1100 high school
- 8:36chartered groups. The last several days, 18,000
- 8:45people signed up on the website to get involved and starting
- 8:51chapters in their communities. Norman High School has a small
- 8:56one. It's fledgling.
- 8:57It needs help and it needs prayer.
- 8:59Greensburg Salem has nothing. Lake Trobe has nothing.
- 9:03Ligonier has a small group. Penn Trafford has a small group,
- 9:09but they're small at this point in time.
- 9:11But I believe, as Erica said, the enemy has no idea what he's
- 9:17unleashed and what's going to happen in the body of Christ as
- 9:22a result of this death. The Bible says a corner wheat
- 9:27has to fall underground and die, abide alone in order for it to
- 9:32come forth and bring forth fruit.
- 9:35And there's so much fruit already beginning to be brought
- 9:40up. It's interesting, as I did more
- 9:44investigation, that the affiliation with Charlie Kirk
- 9:50and Turning Point started at Calvary Chapel.
- 9:54Rob McCoy, who's a pastor emeritus, he just resigned this
- 9:58past year because he's been so busy as a vice chairman of
- 10:02Turning Point. And now with Charlie gone, he's
- 10:05got a lot of weight on his shoulders to be able with Erica
- 10:09and the rest of the group to continue this ministry on.
- 10:14But he discipled Charlie and encouraged him that Christian
- 10:22doctrine, the morals go hand in hand.
- 10:29They're not mutually exclusive. The Apostle Paul, who was
- 10:35eventually martyred, was not afraid to go out on the streets
- 10:39and share the clarity of the Gospel with people.
- 10:43Because of that, he was put in prison.
- 10:46He was beaten. The Roman Empire hated his guts
- 10:52and they wanted to silence him, but he wouldn't shut up.
- 10:55And eventually he used the law in order to help the authorities
- 11:01understand that they were breaking the law by beating him.
- 11:05And when they found out that he was a citizen, they backed off.
- 11:11You need to know your rights as citizens in the United States of
- 11:15America. Someone called me last night
- 11:19troubled over this whole incident and they're being
- 11:23refined right now in their life spiritually and they feel like
- 11:26Jesus has left them because of their sins and things they've
- 11:29committed. And recently this person has
- 11:32just come clean with God and said I'm done with my immoral
- 11:37ways and I'm going to just completely surrender my life to
- 11:42Christ. Please pray for me.
- 11:44He said that I would be able to do this without failing and
- 11:49falling back. And he said, pastor, can I ask
- 11:53you a question? And I said absolutely.
- 11:56He said, do you think that the church in America has been very
- 12:01weak in regard to their convictions biblically about
- 12:08where our culture is and our society morally?
- 12:13I said absolutely. I remember when COVID happened
- 12:18and this room is empty and we were speaking into the camera is
- 12:24very difficult. And Lewis had to remind me,
- 12:28pastor, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are here.
- 12:34He preached because of the Holy Trinity and honoring God,
- 12:38regardless of who's here, who listens whenever 911 happened.
- 12:45And it's ironic that this past week, week, remember 911 and a
- 12:49lot of you and the audience weren't even born at that time.
- 12:54You need to understand history because already people are
- 12:56putting things on the media saying it never happened.
- 12:59It's hard to believe, and that's what happens with godless
- 13:05ideologies. I was in Philly at past Pastor
- 13:14Mark Abrams and I got together in the morning of that day
- 13:18before things had happened, encourage each other and we were
- 13:23witnessing together to a young waitress who has all kind of
- 13:26problems and needs the Lord. So he made arrangements to
- 13:31provide Christmas gifts for her kids.
- 13:34God bless you at Christmas time. And she was just blown away.
- 13:36Why would anybody do that? And he wants her to come to the
- 13:40church. He invited her to come to the
- 13:41church. So I was buying the meal and I
- 13:44figured I'm going to blow this lady's mind.
- 13:47Not that I'm wealthy or anything, but I figured I'll set
- 13:50it up for Mark. And I whispered to him.
- 13:51I gave her $100 tip. I don't think she got any $100
- 13:55tips in a long time. But we need to show the love of
- 13:59Jesus wherever we go. However, we can do it one person
- 14:03at a time. I was in the elevator and I saw
- 14:06a young guy, probably in his late 20s.
- 14:09He just worked out. I said, did you hear the bad
- 14:12news today? He said what?
- 14:15I said Charlie Kirk was assassinated.
- 14:17He said what? I said, yeah.
- 14:20He said, you're kidding me. I said no.
- 14:22He says, I listen to that guy all the time, and many of you
- 14:25young people are really broken because he was your voice for
- 14:30reason. In the midst of schools that are
- 14:32denying the existence of God. I met a young lady yesterday,
- 14:417th grader, excuse me, Norman High School.
- 14:45Her mom told me that every day she would get home from school
- 14:49and turn the podcast on and listen to Charlie.
- 14:51And I asked this young girl, her name's Paige.
- 14:54I said, how did you find that? She says, I don't know.
- 14:57I was just Googling and I one day found it and all of a sudden
- 15:00I couldn't stop listening. And he, he changed the way I
- 15:05think I, I read my Bible now. I want to be a moral young
- 15:10woman. I want to be a virgin, complete
- 15:15opposite to what the society says.
- 15:18And I said what you what's your homeroom?
- 15:21I asked her a little bit about the the school and turns out my
- 15:26my grandson Gabriel is in her homeroom.
- 15:31And my daughter Melanie told me that Gabriel this last year
- 15:35decided he wanted to start reading the Bible on his own.
- 15:39So he's reading through the Old Testament and in his side of his
- 15:42helmet he has Bible verses. I mean, there's something
- 15:45happening in and outside the church.
- 15:52I said that a young man in the elevator.
- 15:53It's up to you and your generation to carry on the
- 15:56message of Charlie. I sent an e-mail to Rob to find
- 16:02out how we can be of some assistance in our place where we
- 16:07are. We have a radio station that's
- 16:11amazing that can reach people. We put an announcement on there
- 16:16when Charlie was murdered to ask the listeners to pray for him
- 16:22and for us so that we would be able to continue the dialogue.
- 16:27Not with hate, not with division, but with love and
- 16:31grace. Paige told me that she met a
- 16:40young girl at the junior high dance that thought the same way
- 16:44she did. And so these two 7th graders are
- 16:47trying to work together to get their school involved with
- 16:52Turning Point. Today, all of us here at Calvary
- 17:01Chapel, we have a young woman here who's helping us with
- 17:07social media along with Kevin and others, and we put out on
- 17:14Facebook Erica's message so that the community would hear it and
- 17:20get to see it and listen to it. It changed my life.
- 17:26I wept through it with Cindy as we watched it and it.
- 17:32This really impacted me deeply. We have the opportunity as
- 17:41Christians to speak up like we've never spoken before.
- 17:45Lewis and I have never compromised the gospel.
- 17:48We preach the whole gospel that abortion is sin, sexual
- 17:55immorality is sin. All the things that go along
- 18:00with sexual immorality that we've all been involved in in at
- 18:04one time or another. Maybe presently, I don't know
- 18:09where everybody's at right now, but we need to repent and turn
- 18:15from everything that is against the will of God and the holiness
- 18:20of God. No exceptions.
- 18:22We must turn to God, we must turn to Jesus, but we're going
- 18:27to be in hell for all eternity. Jesus said the road that leads
- 18:32the night, life is narrow and few there are find it.
- 18:36And being a Christian in these days is not an easy thing.
- 18:39But boy, it's sure a lot easier. And being a Christian in the
- 18:42Sudan where if they catch you reading your Bible, you will be
- 18:46killed in some of these countries that have no freedom
- 18:50of anything. And we have liberty in our
- 18:54country because of people who are out there fighting for our
- 18:59liberty. And we as churches have to
- 19:03proclaim that the freedom that we all desire comes in Jesus
- 19:08alone, where Jesus says you shall know the truth and the
- 19:12truth shall make you free. At the end of our prayer time
- 19:18today, I'm going to have an opportunity for us to come and
- 19:21pray up front. If you've never met Jesus, the
- 19:25days to come and meet him and start a new life and get on the
- 19:29path of liberty by confessing your sins to him, repenting and
- 19:34asking him to save you and he will for others who may be or
- 19:395050 right now in your faith with the Lord and your
- 19:42commitment today, commit to him to be 100 percent, 100% with
- 19:48Jesus. There'll be prayer people here
- 19:53to help you pray. Intercessors that spend their
- 19:56life at Calvary behind the scenes, praying for the Lord to
- 19:59work. They'll be up here to pray too.
- 20:03Pastor Lewis will be up front to help as well.
- 20:05And when you come and pray later, you can think about this
- 20:12as I have a brief message today. So we have time to pray to ask
- 20:17God for what he wants in your life right now.
- 20:24Don't worry about yesterday, what it should have could have
- 20:27that's done. Lord, from this day forward,
- 20:31what do you want in my life? Ask God for understanding.
- 20:36Ask Him for the grace to yield and surrender whatever you know
- 20:42you need to give to Jesus. Pray for Turning Point, Pray for
- 20:48the Kirk family. Pray for the body of Christ all
- 20:51over the country right now in the world.
- 20:54Pray for Bible churches everywhere.
- 20:56Pray for your families, your kids, and your grandkids to get
- 21:00on fire for Jesus. Use these connect cards to
- 21:06invite people to Calvary. I was in Philly working.
- 21:09They, they're not going to drive here.
- 21:11I know I go to Calvary Philly, but they can go on here and hit
- 21:15our QR code and watch our messages and hear what we
- 21:18believe and how we live our faith out together as a family.
- 21:23But it's fun now because I go through Starbucks and every time
- 21:26I go through Starbucks, guess what?
- 21:27They're getting one and I'm going to make sure I give them a
- 21:31tip though when I put that card in.
- 21:32You don't give these people things.
- 21:34If you don't tip them, they're going to throw it away.
- 21:39Went to the car wash and have a relationship with them for years
- 21:43and young lady worked so hard there.
- 21:45I gave her one. I said, hey, Chuck us out.
- 21:48It's very easy to do after church today and this week
- 21:54should you need to talk personally with pastor, get a
- 21:57hold of us and we're there for you to listen and to pray with
- 22:03you. So let's look at First
- 22:09Corinthians 12 for a few moments.
- 22:13This is on spiritual gifts and spiritual gifts are critical.
- 22:18We need them more than ever because if you use your gift,
- 22:24whatever that might be in this church and in your sphere of
- 22:29influence in your workplace, God will use you to impact people
- 22:36for Jesus. They're supernatural gifts that
- 22:39God gives to you. And we're to desire spiritual
- 22:44gifts and we encourage you to pursue and to find out what it
- 22:49is that your gift might be and to help you function in that
- 22:53gift, give you an opportunity to use that gift in the church.
- 23:03The human body is made-up of the head and everything else after
- 23:11that. And the head is the most
- 23:14important thing because without the head you can't live, you
- 23:17can't think, you can't breathe, you can't.
- 23:19And the reason why the head is designed to be so important is
- 23:23it reflects the head of the church, Jesus Christ, because we
- 23:27can't function or flow apart from his enablement as the head
- 23:32of the Church of all churches. Any place where people are
- 23:37getting together today in Jesus name and believe in the death,
- 23:41the resurrection, the crucifixion, the shed blood and
- 23:46the second coming of Jesus Christ.
- 23:48Our brothers and sisters doesn't matter what the name of the
- 23:52church is and that they're departing from sin.
- 23:56They're fleeing from sin. They're endeavoring to live a
- 23:59life that's pleasing to God, not living in secret sin or double
- 24:04lives coming clean with God. So there's unity in one body.
- 24:12I'm going to read the verses and then this make a general
- 24:16comment. Verse 12.
- 24:18For as the body is 1 and has many members, but all the
- 24:21members of that one body being many or one body, so also is
- 24:25Christ. For by 1 spirit are we all
- 24:28baptized into the body, whether Jews are Greek, whether slaves
- 24:31are free, and have all been made to drink into the one spirit.
- 24:36For in fact the body is not one member but many.
- 24:40The Holy Spirit comes into your life the second you believe on
- 24:43Jesus and get born again. You are placed supernaturally by
- 24:47the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ, which is made-up of
- 24:52Protestants, Orthodox, Catholic. Doesn't matter if they're born
- 24:55again, they're in the Church, one Church.
- 24:57One day Jesus, when he comes and establishes his Kingdom, he'll
- 25:01be the speaker. Won't you be glad there'll be no
- 25:04mistakes. Everything that will be said
- 25:06will build you up and never tear you down.
- 25:10One body. I'll never forget when I got
- 25:12saved, I, I didn't understand everything that happened in my
- 25:15bedroom at that time when I was 20 years old, but I knew someone
- 25:19was living in me that wasn't living there before.
- 25:23And that person was God, the Holy Spirit.
- 25:26He was telling me where to go, what not to do.
- 25:29And I, what do you mean I can't do that anymore?
- 25:30I, I couldn't understand right away and I still try to test it.
- 25:34Can I still do that? And there's no big deal.
- 25:36And then I, as I get older, I realized there's a big deal when
- 25:39you try to get in the way of the Holy Spirit, you quench him, you
- 25:41grieve him, your life becomes a disaster.
- 25:46But anyway, that is the baptism that you need to be a Christian
- 25:52where you get born again and immediately he puts you in his
- 25:56body as a believer, part of his church, and you have the Holy
- 26:00Spirit in you to live. There's a another baptism, the
- 26:06baptism of the believer after they get saved.
- 26:09Water baptism, Jesus said go into all the world, preach the
- 26:14gospel to every living creature, teaching them to observe all
- 26:17things whatsoever. I've commanded you baptizing
- 26:21them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- 26:24If you haven't been baptized yet or you got baptized, you had no
- 26:28idea why you got baptized. I got baptized as a baby.
- 26:31Initially I had no clue why. I was probably like, why is that
- 26:34weird guy putting that rose with that water in my head?
- 26:37You know, I couldn't talk, but I I'm sure I didn't like it,
- 26:40right? He's cold.
- 26:43My pool is 86°, so you're welcome.
- 26:45Saturday coming up, text me. Talk to me in a way out.
- 26:49I want to get baptized. That's your first step of
- 26:52obedience and following Jesus. Amen.
- 26:57Don't feel bad if you say I got saved, but I never got baptized.
- 27:00No problem. Get baptized this Sunday.
- 27:02It's the last Sunday. We'll have that.
- 27:03The pool's going to be open to do this. 10:00 One woman is
- 27:10going to get baptized. Lydia, Where is Lydia?
- 27:13Is she here today? Lydia Eichelberger's not here
- 27:15today. She says, God, my whole family
- 27:17wants to come and says there's not a lot of parking.
- 27:19I said don't worry, we'll figure it out.
- 27:21We'll put the cars up and down the street.
- 27:24I used to work as a party parking lot attendant, so I know
- 27:26how to direct cars. If the foot should say because
- 27:33I'm not a hand, I'm not at the body, it is therefore not of the
- 27:37body, question mark. And if the ear should say
- 27:39because I'm not an eye, I'm not of the body, is it therefore not
- 27:43of the body? If the whole body were an eye,
- 27:45where would I be? Where would the hearing be?
- 27:48If the whole we're hearing, where would be the smelling?
- 27:53Aren't you glad you can smell and taste?
- 27:58I can't imagine eating food if you couldn't taste it or smell
- 28:01it. That's the best part.
- 28:06Smelling is really important. But now God has set the members,
- 28:10each one of them, in the body just as He's pleased.
- 28:13And if they were all one member, where would the body be?
- 28:17So we're all different, right? But not more important or less
- 28:20important than one another. But now, indeed, there are many
- 28:22members, yet one body. And the eye cannot say to the
- 28:25hand, I have no need of you, nor again the head to the feet, I
- 28:28have no need of you. No, much rather, those members
- 28:32of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary, and those
- 28:36members of the body which we think are less honorable.
- 28:39On these we bestow greater honor, and on our unpresentable
- 28:43parts have greater modesty, but our presentable parts have no
- 28:47need. But God composed the body,
- 28:49having given greater honor to the part which lacks it.
- 28:53That's how the Lord is. If you feel insignificant from
- 28:56God's vantage point, you're never insignificant.
- 28:59You're just as important and critical as you think.
- 29:02The person that's up front talking or whoever's doing the
- 29:05missions or Charlie or anybody else, No one is like, there's no
- 29:09like hierarchy in the body of Christ.
- 29:11We're all one together in Jesus. And your spiritual gifts feed me
- 29:16and I trust mine feeds you and bless you.
- 29:21But God composed the body having giving greater honor to that
- 29:24part which lacks it, that there should be no schism or division
- 29:28in the body, but the members should have the same care for
- 29:31one another. And we're going to be going into
- 29:33first Corinthians 13 next week, love chapter.
- 29:36Don't miss it, watch it and embrace it because you don't
- 29:41have a right not to forgive anybody.
- 29:42You definitely don't have a right to not love anybody or
- 29:45love everybody. And we got to love each other as
- 29:49a body of Christ deeply because that's what causes people to
- 29:52know we belong to him. Hey, I know they're a Christian.
- 29:56How can you tell? Because they love each other.
- 29:58Jesus said. That's what the people say.
- 30:02And if we got to go out in the streets and deal with
- 30:05transgenderism and all these weird ideologies and all this
- 30:11stuff that makes your head go sideways, you can't reject
- 30:15people. You can't ignore them.
- 30:17You need to love them. And if you can't love them, you
- 30:21can say, Lord, work on my heart and don't let me open my mouth
- 30:24until there's love coming out because given the gospel without
- 30:29love is not going to work. Lord, help us to love each other
- 30:36in this church. Help us to not get hung up on
- 30:38small stuff, don't let us get offended and get mad and stupid
- 30:42stuff and we all of a sudden don't want to go to church
- 30:45anymore because someone did something we didn't like.
- 30:49I mean, if, if Jesus like had that kind of mindset the first
- 30:52day he was on the earth and his ministry's like Godfather, I'm
- 30:55coming home. These people are waste.
- 30:57They're never listening. I'm not I don't want to be
- 30:59around them. But he didn't.
- 31:01He hung out with all of us and still does, no matter what or
- 31:06stupid stuff. Now you are all the body of
- 31:12Christ and members individually and God has appointed these in
- 31:15the church. First apostles, second prophets,
- 31:18third teachers After that miracles and gifts of healing
- 31:22helps administration's variety in tongues.
- 31:25Are all apostles? No Are all prophets?
- 31:28No Are all teachers? No Are all workers of miracles?
- 31:31No. Do all have gifts of healing?
- 31:33No. Do all speak with tongues?
- 31:35No. Do all interpret?
- 31:36No, but earnestly, these are the best gifts and I will show you a
- 31:41more excellent way. Amen.
- 31:46So we're going to watch a short video, turn out the lights.
- 31:49Soon as the lights come back on, start coming forward and Pastor
- 31:53Lewis will come up with some of the deacons and anybody that is
- 31:57an intercessor, prayer warrior, whatever, come forward.
- 32:01And we're just going to spend 10 minutes or so in the presence of
- 32:05the Lord. Gina and the team will lead us
- 32:07in worship. OK.
- 32:08And and then we'll we'll see what the Lord does in our
- 32:12hearts. You need a miracle today.
- 32:14Well, God's here and he, he wants to do some miracles in all
- 32:17of our lives. There's nothing he can't do.
- 32:20There's nothing he isn't willing to do.
- 32:22If you're being called into ministry, don't say, well, maybe
- 32:25like I did, like, well, Lord, you called me when I was 20.
- 32:28I didn't get involved until I was 44.
- 32:30I fought it. I didn't want to do it, but
- 32:33that's me. If you're 202530351015 and you
- 32:38feel God's calling you to serve him as a pastor, as a
- 32:42missionary, as a pastor's wife, as someone in a worship team,
- 32:46sound team, whatever things we got going on here, get involved.
- 32:50Don't waste time, right? Charlie, I'm sure is glad he got
- 32:54into it and he went into the presence of 31 hearing well
- 32:57done, good and faithful servant, right?
- 32:59Enter into the joy of the Lord. Time's short.
- 33:03We got to get active, we got to get busy.
- 33:05We got to be ready. This is a Church of grace, not
- 33:08guilt, not judgement, but the work of the Holy Spirit in each
- 33:12of your lives. And I'm so thankful, as is
- 33:15Pastor Lewis. Come on up here, pastor, to be
- 33:20able to do ministry with you guys.
- 33:22We don't do it to you. We do it with you.
- 33:25And I'm going to ask pastor to close us in the Lord's Supper.
- 33:29And and then it's such a blessing having him with me and
- 33:34hit me with him. We're Lewis and Clark and I, and
- 33:37I bet you ought to Google how many churches have a white and
- 33:40an African American pastor working together.
- 33:43I don't think there's any. So, you know, we need to get
- 33:46this out on Facebook too, right? Brenda?
- 33:47Let everybody know that that we want people of color in this
- 33:51place, all color, Indian, black, white, green, yellow, whatever
- 33:55they are. That's our prayer for the power
- 33:57of the Holy Spirit to bring revival to the city.
- 33:59So Pastor God take over. And we look so much alike.
- 34:02People confuse us. I pray that God honors
- 34:05everything that He heard today. I pray that your hearts have
- 34:09been softened today by the things that you've heard and the
- 34:11things that you've seen. We had the presence of God here
- 34:14today, and it's amazing. Growing up, I thought the
- 34:17presence of God was the emotion. I thought the presence of God
- 34:20was the noise and the hoopla and the noise.
- 34:23But the presence of God is the rendering of the hearts, isn't
- 34:27it? When He gets into your heart and
- 34:30He begins to reveal things to you, when He gets into your
- 34:34heart and He begins to show you the things that actually brings
- 34:38you to tears, it's a blessing to be in the presence of the Lord
- 34:45and to know it. And He said very clearly, it's
- 34:50by love, one for another. When I watched each other
- 34:55praying for one another, not for yourselves, but for one another,
- 35:00that's love. You set your own agenda aside
- 35:04for a minute to be able to pray for someone else's concerns,
- 35:08that's love. That's the power and the
- 35:11presence of God. And we thank God to be able to
- 35:14experience that this morning. The awesome Savior that we have
- 35:19who actually came to sacrifice himself in the hands of mere men
- 35:28that He himself created. The minds that He created, the
- 35:35wheels that He created. Men who would look at him and
- 35:42spit on him and say all manner of things about him that were
- 35:47evil, yet He came to die for them.
- 35:57The example that He has left for us to love beyond circumstance,
- 36:05not in circumstance beyond it, is the example that He leaves
- 36:09for us. It's not easy, but it is of God.
- 36:18I can dislike what you say, and it could hurt me to my heart,
- 36:22but if I make a decision to love you above and beyond that, I
- 36:28will choose to love you the way He chose to love us in spite of
- 36:37us, not because of us, in spite of us.
- 36:41So He brings this example to earth, and he walks out the
- 36:47gospel, he walks out the commandments of God in leather
- 36:51and shoe leather. He demonstrates the
- 36:53righteousness of God in the presence of mere men.
- 36:57And in doing so, He brought it, brought anger in the hearts of
- 37:07those who hated Him and who hated righteousness.
- 37:13So don't think that we are not going to be hated.
- 37:16He told us we're going to be hated, but they hated Him first.
- 37:21But we thank Him for the example.
- 37:24We thank Him for the sacrifice. He didn't have to do it, but He
- 37:29did it. That he would be the just and
- 37:32the justifier of all those who put their faith in Jesus.
- 37:41And that's the gospel, because we're sinners and none of us
- 37:46deserve eternal life. We are sinners and none of us
- 37:52deserve his grace. And we couldn't keep the law
- 37:56that He gave for us, But because he loved us, He sent his Son
- 38:01Jesus Christ to die on that cross for us who took on our
- 38:05sins. He gave us.
- 38:07He gave us his righteousness, and he took our sins.
- 38:10That's the great exchange. And because of that, we are here
- 38:13today with the hope of eternal life in Jesus Christ.
- 38:19And so that's what we remember today as we take the table.
- 38:27So it was in the night in which Jesus was betrayed that he took
- 38:29the bread. And after he gave thanks, he
- 38:34broke it. And he said, take and eat.
- 38:39This is my body which was broken for you for the sins that you've
- 38:49committed. It was broken because I am the
- 38:53propitiation for your sins. It was broken for you.
- 38:59Eat this in remembrance of me. In the same manner He also took
- 39:05the cup, and after supper he looked at his disciples, his
- 39:10apostles, and he said, This cup is the new covenant in my blood.
- 39:17Every covenant is cut with blood, and this is the blood
- 39:23that I shed for this covenant. Drink this and as often as you
- 39:31drink it, drinking in remembrance of me.
- 39:37For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, we
- 39:43remember the Lord's death until he come.
- 39:45Amen. The Lord bless you.
