- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to a meeting of the minds crafted from decades
- 0:05Speaker 1: of talk show experience, an extension of the magic they've
- 0:08Speaker 1: created together on radio in the phenomenon called M and M,
- 0:13Speaker 1: Hot Topics in the News and Wisdom from Light. It's
- 0:17Speaker 1: Mark Davis and Mike Gallagher. This is eminem Extra.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Well, so far, I've survived forty eight hours in New
- 0:26Speaker 2: York City. I'm not in Garland, Texas, where it's a
- 0:29Speaker 2: lot safer. I can't wait to get back to Florida. Admittedly,
- 0:33Speaker 2: after today's eminem Extra, I'm Mike from that part of
- 0:37Speaker 2: the M. He's Mark, Mark Davis. Happy Monday. You look
- 0:42Speaker 2: bright eyed and bushy tailed.
- 0:43Speaker 3: I am both. Had a nice weekend, had a fantastic weekend,
- 0:47Speaker 3: just to enjoy just getting some stuff done around the house.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Very quiet. Well, listen, it's funny things remain quiet when
- 0:53Speaker 3: it's one hundred and twelve degrees outside, and it doesn't
- 0:56Speaker 3: exactly invite an enormous amount of yard work or various
- 0:58Speaker 3: other out of the out of the house chores. But
- 1:01Speaker 3: we got some stuff done and I just had a
- 1:03Speaker 3: thoroughly pleasant time. We started a h after having completed Outlander,
- 1:07Speaker 3: we started a new show on Netflix called I Will
- 1:11Speaker 3: Find You. Oh, I have seen Sam Worthington, the guy
- 1:15Speaker 3: who is in Avatar, most overrated film ever. But it's
- 1:21Speaker 3: it's it's a drama. He's in prison for killing his
- 1:24Speaker 3: own kid. But then somebody finds a photograph where the
- 1:26Speaker 3: kid is alive years later. WHOA, So it's it's it's
- 1:30Speaker 3: a bee. So far, it's good. We're halfway through. So
- 1:33Speaker 3: we found that. We've just been hanging out. But you're
- 1:35Speaker 3: in New York and what are you doing in begin
- 1:37Speaker 3: So so weird to.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Be that Avatar was this phenomenal, worldwide, massive success. I
- 1:44Speaker 2: guess I've missed the whole thing. You know. The only
- 1:47Speaker 2: thing I know about Avatar is the is the Pandora
- 1:50Speaker 2: ride over it or the Pandora Park at Disney World.
- 1:53Speaker 2: They did a whole theme park based on Pandora about
- 1:57Speaker 2: on the movie. But I've never I haven't seen any.
- 2:00Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Really, well, you should I have. I saw the first one,
- 2:06Speaker 3: like many other things. It's good, it's fine. Is it
- 2:10Speaker 3: like the greatest thing in God's creation? No, it was
- 2:15Speaker 3: a nice boy. It did very well. I don't begrudge, yep,
- 2:19Speaker 3: I don't begrudge anybody anything. Not everything's going to be
- 2:22Speaker 3: a bike, a cup of tea. I'm not an avatar
- 2:25Speaker 3: detractor or anything like that, but it's just I don't know.
- 2:28Speaker 3: But anyway, I will find you on Netflix.
- 2:29Speaker 2: It's good.
- 2:30Speaker 3: I'm still looking for something to fill the outlander hole.
- 2:33Speaker 3: That's that's that's that's.
- 2:35Speaker 2: I filled my love of theater hole in my heart
- 2:38Speaker 2: last night over Gosh. Lame is the world concert tour
- 2:42Speaker 2: at Radio City Music Hall. So what is that?
- 2:45Speaker 3: That's an org that's doing the magnificent songs from Lame
- 2:49Speaker 3: is sort of the soundtrack in a full orchestra.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Yeah, you're doing. It's not fully staged, but it's mostly staged.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Doing a show in concert I did. I was in
- 2:58Speaker 2: one once at Lear Stage at the Majestic Theater in
- 3:01Speaker 2: downtown Dallas. In fact, it was the first show I
- 3:04Speaker 2: think I ever did it at Lyric. It was Showboat,
- 3:07Speaker 2: remember the musical Showboat? Sure, and oh my gosh, can
- 3:11Speaker 2: I should we do this? There's an opening that movie.
- 3:15Speaker 2: That musical was like written in nineteen thirty seven, right,
- 3:18Speaker 2: it's old, but you know the show and all the
- 3:21Speaker 2: beautiful songs from it and everything and about capn Andy
- 3:24Speaker 2: and the show boat going up and down the mighty
- 3:26Speaker 2: Mississippi River and everything. Well, I should like, why do
- 3:31Speaker 2: I do this?
- 3:33Speaker 3: So you have to. I don't know what you're talking about,
- 3:35Speaker 3: but now you have to.
- 3:36Speaker 2: All right. The quick story about being in concert is
- 3:39Speaker 2: I was in that production and we staged it in concert.
- 3:43Speaker 2: And what that means is you're kind of seated on
- 3:46Speaker 2: the stage. You're not like a traditional musical where you're backstage.
- 3:48Speaker 2: You come out for your scenes and all that. There's sets,
- 3:51Speaker 2: the orchestra, and the cast is basically on stage and
- 3:54Speaker 2: then you do the musical. But to the you come
- 3:57Speaker 2: to the lip of the stage and you act out
- 3:59Speaker 2: the scenes and then you go back to your seat.
- 4:01Speaker 2: But you're performing the musical numbers and the dialogue and everything.
- 4:04Speaker 2: So you're doing the whole thing in concert form. And
- 4:08Speaker 2: it can be done creatively, it can be done done
- 4:10Speaker 2: kind of kind of you know, uniquely, but it's different.
- 4:14Speaker 2: It's a very different way of doing a musical. So anyway,
- 4:17Speaker 2: show bote years ago, I'll never forget this. So the
- 4:22Speaker 2: opening number is something about colored folks working on the
- 4:28Speaker 2: Mississippi whoops. See, well, but the original original was it
- 4:35Speaker 2: was the N word working on the Mississippi.
- 4:38Speaker 3: No no, not the no no no no no yeah,
- 4:41Speaker 3: the end stop.
- 4:42Speaker 2: I mean the actual the marke actual word, the actual word.
- 4:46Speaker 2: It was that they and and so they would say
- 4:50Speaker 2: N words working in the Mississippi N word where and
- 4:54Speaker 2: they had us sing it. We did that word in
- 4:58Speaker 2: concert at in Dall, Texas. And their argument was, and
- 5:03Speaker 2: I can't fault them historically accurate. It's historically accurate. This
- 5:07Speaker 2: is what we should do. We shouldn't bury history and
- 5:10Speaker 2: even do this. Dolly but Mark, I'm up there singing,
- 5:14Speaker 2: I'm thinking, this is it? Who knew that my career
- 5:17Speaker 2: was going to end this way?
- 5:18Speaker 3: Because all we need is some some viral clips of
- 5:23Speaker 3: that Oh my world.
- 5:25Speaker 2: And I'm up there in seat well thankfully. I was
- 5:27Speaker 2: part of like fifty people and I was in er three.
- 5:30Speaker 2: I was hiding in James Williams because he was taller
- 5:32Speaker 2: than me, big tall guy with bald head. I thought
- 5:35Speaker 2: nobody can see me. I would scrunch down every time
- 5:37Speaker 2: that number would come up, because I'm thinking, yeah, are
- 5:39Speaker 2: we actually doing this? On?
- 5:40Speaker 3: Are we doing this? I guess so? So it's funny,
- 5:44Speaker 3: it's funny. I one thousand oppose the cleansing of Mark
- 5:49Speaker 3: Twain in Huck Finn where you get you know, Mark
- 5:52Speaker 3: Twain in the nineteenth century, throwing down some N word
- 5:55Speaker 3: references because it was part of the lexicon of the time.
- 5:58Speaker 3: I completely opposed the cleansing. One could say the lightwashing,
- 6:02Speaker 3: the cleansing of that leave Mark Twain alone. One could
- 6:08Speaker 3: apply that to what you've just described and be intellectually honest.
- 6:11Speaker 3: But then you come to do people need to be
- 6:13Speaker 3: walking into the theater deep in twenty first century America
- 6:17Speaker 3: and get hit with an N bomb from the stage.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Probably not with fifty people bellowing it. I mean, whoa, whoa, whoa, No, no.
- 6:27Speaker 2: I mean the funny thing was, there wasn't a lot
- 6:29Speaker 2: of controversy. I was ready. I thought this is going
- 6:34Speaker 2: to hit the fan, but it never really did. And
- 6:37Speaker 2: it was well attended. I mean it was they had
- 6:39Speaker 2: great They always have great crowds over there. But anyhow,
- 6:41Speaker 2: I was that was kind of my But so last
- 6:44Speaker 2: night Ley Misses in concert form. It's a world tour,
- 6:47Speaker 2: these big international stars, many of whom have played the
- 6:51Speaker 2: iconic roles in the past, and then we saw before
- 6:54Speaker 2: the day I went by myself and went and saw
- 6:56Speaker 2: Maybe Happy Ending, which is a sweet little show about
- 7:00Speaker 2: what it would be like if we had helper bots humans.
- 7:04Speaker 2: That's from a show from South Korea. I think, so
- 7:07Speaker 2: you think of a squid game and all like whatever
- 7:09Speaker 2: those shows are, and they're very creative in South Korea
- 7:12Speaker 2: with some of their entertainment. So there was like a
- 7:14Speaker 2: it was a two shows yesterday and had a blast
- 7:17Speaker 2: and ate too much sushi last night. Sushi can cannot
- 7:21Speaker 2: be kind to me sometimes, but I like it. Do
- 7:23Speaker 2: you like Do you like sushimi? Okay?
- 7:25Speaker 3: I have I have had Okay, I've had a journey
- 7:28Speaker 3: on sushi. Twenty years ago, I would say I don't
- 7:32Speaker 3: like sushi. I don't eat bait because that's like raw
- 7:35Speaker 3: fish blah blah blah. Right now I kind of do.
- 7:37Speaker 3: I'm a big fan of the of the even some
- 7:40Speaker 3: of the uncooked stuff pepper tuna and yeah, you know,
- 7:44Speaker 3: or even urchin and eel and some of that real
- 7:46Speaker 3: quirky stuff. It's pretty darn tasty and once you if
- 7:49Speaker 3: you lay out a roll which actually has some some
- 7:52Speaker 3: flame put to it in some fashion, I'm a pretty
- 7:55Speaker 3: big fan.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Yes, you know, years ago when I was living in Keller.
- 7:58Speaker 2: I went to a sushi place. You ever, you don't
- 8:01Speaker 2: ever want to get bad sushi. It you it's very unforgiving. Oh,
- 8:06Speaker 2: it was unforgiving in my case. I'm not going to
- 8:08Speaker 2: even mention the name. It's still there. But I got
- 8:10Speaker 2: sick as a dog. The next morning I had I
- 8:13Speaker 2: was clearly food poisoning. And it was shortly after Denise died. Still,
- 8:18Speaker 2: I'll never forget this. I still have my wedding ring on.
- 8:20Speaker 2: And there's a reason for the for that part of
- 8:22Speaker 2: the story. And I had a red bucket in the
- 8:24Speaker 2: front seat of the car with me, and I was
- 8:27Speaker 2: going to work to do the show and over where
- 8:30Speaker 2: you are right now. And I'm driving down you know,
- 8:33Speaker 2: one fourteen to go to the and I thought, I
- 8:36Speaker 2: can't do it. I'm sick. I'm getting sicker and sicker.
- 8:39Speaker 2: So I took the red bucket and I drove. I
- 8:42Speaker 2: got off the exit and I went to the emergency
- 8:44Speaker 2: room at that big what's the hospital there in Keller
- 8:48Speaker 2: south Lake. There's a Baylor in grape Vine. Yeah, Baylor,
- 8:52Speaker 2: Baylor Grapevine. So I went to Baylor grape Vine er
- 8:56Speaker 2: and I walked into the er and there Mark, there's
- 8:59Speaker 2: fifty p sitting there with their sniffling noses and their
- 9:03Speaker 2: little skin knees, and I think I'm dying. So I decided,
- 9:08Speaker 2: I know what I'll do. I go into the middle
- 9:11Speaker 2: of the.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Waiting room and have a fake heart attack.
- 9:13Speaker 2: I collapsed. I fell onto the floor. No I'm with
- 9:16Speaker 2: them with the bucket clanging on the ground, which scared
- 9:19Speaker 2: the heck out of everybody, and I lay well. Do
- 9:22Speaker 2: you know? They came, scooped me up, put me on
- 9:24Speaker 2: the stretcher, took me back to the room, and of
- 9:27Speaker 2: course I was sick still, and I mean, but they
- 9:29Speaker 2: got that, got me treated. And then and then the
- 9:31Speaker 2: guy said, the doctor said to me, why see you're married.
- 9:36Speaker 2: This is so morbid. I'm telling you this story, but
- 9:39Speaker 2: it's typical Gallagher morbidity, darkness, the light my life, unbelievable.
- 9:45Speaker 2: The doctor says, I see you're married. When is your
- 9:48Speaker 2: wife getting here? I said, she's never gonna be here.
- 9:52Speaker 2: She died. I lost her a few months ago to cancer.
- 9:56Speaker 2: In fact, she was in this hospital. I'm I mean
- 10:00Speaker 2: it was an I'm a mark. In case you don't
- 10:03Speaker 2: know it, I'm a I'm a mess. I'm an as wreck.
- 10:07Speaker 2: So that was and then I realized, though, maybe I
- 10:09Speaker 2: should stop wearing their wedding ring because people will have
- 10:11Speaker 2: the wrong I mean, you know, I award for a
- 10:13Speaker 2: while after she passed away. But that was and not
- 10:16Speaker 2: my proudest moment. I admit. It's a little bit like
- 10:19Speaker 2: sometimes limping to get on the on the flight early
- 10:21Speaker 2: on Delta, because they let anybody.
- 10:22Speaker 3: With special special needs extra time.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Well, by the time if you even if you're in
- 10:29Speaker 2: first class, if you go at the regular time, a
- 10:32Speaker 2: lot of times you overhead and been overhead. Bench space
- 10:34Speaker 2: is taken, right, And besides you, I see all these
- 10:37Speaker 2: people marching ahead of me when they make that announcement.
- 10:40Speaker 2: If you need a little extra assistance things, people go
- 10:42Speaker 2: strolling up there younger than me. I'm thinking, so I
- 10:46Speaker 2: do it. But but since I'm an actor, I limp.
- 10:50Speaker 2: I limp pretty profusely, profound. Sometimes it's the left leg,
- 10:56Speaker 2: sometimes it's the right leg. Sometimes I drag that it fresh.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Now again, when the Lord calls me home, he's gonna
- 11:04Speaker 2: remind me you have to answer. I'm I'm about to
- 11:08Speaker 2: say a word about that collapsing with a red bucket,
- 11:12Speaker 2: what with.
- 11:12Speaker 3: There's one more minute on on gastric distress before we
- 11:15Speaker 3: get to the things in the news. How much, how much, zero,
- 11:19Speaker 3: moderate or ten? Have you paid attention? Are you eating salads?
- 11:24Speaker 3: You have let us terror.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Scare of salads.
- 11:26Speaker 3: I'm sorry, I listen. We're all we're all trying to
- 11:30Speaker 3: lose weight, do better and and eat healthy. It's is
- 11:34Speaker 3: it just Iceberg? Can I make a because I'm a
- 11:37Speaker 3: big fan. I make a big salad at home in
- 11:39Speaker 3: the middle of the day, sure, and I tend to
- 11:41Speaker 3: be a romaine lettuce person. Am I okay? Or is
- 11:44Speaker 3: is my butt going to explode? Because at first I
- 11:48Speaker 3: was kind of dismissive about the whole cyclist, but then
- 11:52Speaker 3: it's just grown and grown, and they show the maps
- 11:55Speaker 3: with these are the states where people's butts are exploding.
- 11:57Speaker 3: What it's like?
- 11:58Speaker 2: Whoa what?
- 11:59Speaker 3: I don't want to have that happened? So I don't
- 12:01Speaker 3: know how big a deal do you think? How big
- 12:03Speaker 3: a deal is it with you? And how big a
- 12:05Speaker 3: deal do you think it is? Because we are in
- 12:07Speaker 3: the era where health officials trust is broken. The Fauci
- 12:13Speaker 3: Diaries did not help us with the memories of that
- 12:16Speaker 3: broken trust. More on that in a minute if you wish. Yeah,
- 12:19Speaker 3: but just where do you think we are on this
- 12:22Speaker 3: this this lettuce nightmare.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Well, I'll tell you where I'm at. I ain't touching lettuce.
- 12:27Speaker 2: I'm not touching a leaf of it, just because I'm
- 12:29Speaker 2: not I'm not exactly enamored. Somebody saying, well, you know
- 12:33Speaker 2: it's from a Mexican farm, and it's okay, No, no, no, no,
- 12:38Speaker 2: not not. I can get lots of healthy food inside
- 12:41Speaker 2: me without having to eat lettuce fresh produce, because really,
- 12:44Speaker 2: are you willing to take the chance. It's one thing
- 12:47Speaker 2: to have diarrhea? They call it explosion diarrhea. At what
- 12:51Speaker 2: point does diarrhea become explosive? What's the metric that you
- 12:55Speaker 2: have to reach? Well, I don't know, Bill, that seems
- 12:57Speaker 2: like ordinary diarrhea. But Fred over here, this is explosive. Yeah,
- 13:04Speaker 2: it's amazing to me what we well, And they turned
- 13:07Speaker 2: people like me, who I'm already nervous. They kept me
- 13:10Speaker 2: into it being hysterical. Uh you know, but but my gosh,
- 13:14Speaker 2: I don't have any kind of explosive diarrhea. Hey, we
- 13:17Speaker 2: got some breaking news. Do you have a bunch of
- 13:20Speaker 2: alerts on your phone? Sure?
- 13:23Speaker 3: More some less than others, why like as something happened well.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Senator Mitch McConnell is apparently out of the hospital, according
- 13:31Speaker 2: to Fox News, but he's still on the mend and
- 13:36Speaker 2: he has not been medically cleared to return to the
- 13:39Speaker 2: Senate off His office finally released the update on him.
- 13:45Speaker 2: He's been absent from the Upper Chamber and the public
- 13:48Speaker 2: eye for over a month. The Office of the Attending
- 13:52Speaker 2: Physician just released a statement saying he continues his recovery
- 13:56Speaker 2: from a fall at home in June. Mark. That was
- 14:01Speaker 2: one heck of a fall. What did you to go
- 14:03Speaker 2: down there? You fall down the steps? I mean into
- 14:06Speaker 2: the basement? Did he go down three flights of steps?
- 14:08Speaker 2: What in the heck is going on? And did you
- 14:11Speaker 2: see Lisa what's her name or Shelley Moore? Capedo, Yeah,
- 14:15Speaker 2: she's out.
- 14:15Speaker 3: There, saying Republican in West Virginia Reese who recently visited
- 14:19Speaker 3: She says a person who recently visited Mitch while he's
- 14:22Speaker 3: been in a rehab center described him as clear minded.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Oh yeah. A friend of a friend of my uncle's
- 14:29Speaker 2: cousin on my on my wife's side, got to see
- 14:33Speaker 2: him in the hospital, said he's clear minded yep, uh huh. Well,
- 14:39Speaker 2: anybody else in the room with you when you talk
- 14:41Speaker 2: to that friend, I mean you hear.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Any things, photographs of this Mark?
- 14:44Speaker 2: Mark, Mark?
- 14:45Speaker 3: What do you want to do?
- 14:47Speaker 2: So? What do you want to do? What do you want?
- 14:48Speaker 3: What do you want him to do? What ought to happen?
- 14:51Speaker 2: To resign? Get? Get? Let's do a special election again? Him? There?
- 14:56Speaker 2: I saw there was a fear that Andy Basher could
- 14:59Speaker 2: appoint a Democrat, But apparently that's not the way it
- 15:01Speaker 2: would actually work. Correct you corrected me on that last week,
- 15:04Speaker 2: didn't you? Oh?
- 15:06Speaker 3: I did. But but the clock is taken.
- 15:07Speaker 2: There.
- 15:08Speaker 3: We reach a point if it's going to be a
- 15:10Speaker 3: special election. You can't throw a special election together in
- 15:12Speaker 3: two weeks. There was a point past which if Mitch
- 15:15Speaker 3: manages to cling to some thread of life, that then
- 15:20Speaker 3: we're done here and then we just have to just
- 15:22Speaker 3: have to kind of live with it.
- 15:24Speaker 2: I guess. I guess. Hey, by the way, talking about
- 15:27Speaker 2: entertainment and movies and plays and TV shows that we like, Yeah,
- 15:31Speaker 2: here's something right up our alley. I want to welcome
- 15:35Speaker 2: them to the podcast too, because Echele dot com echel

- 16:56Speaker 2: their name to it. They were part of the the
- 16:58Speaker 2: on the ground floor, helping to build echo from the

- 18:51Speaker 2: and four Relief eight hundred the number four relief for
- 18:54Speaker 2: the one and only Relief Factor. I played back today
- 18:57Speaker 2: on The Mike Gallagher Show the argument you and I
- 19:00Speaker 2: had about our friend Rob Schneider taken.
- 19:03Speaker 3: On Texas Habit Update two, Give me an update?
- 19:06Speaker 2: Did he respond? Finally, Yes, he did. Oh good good.
- 19:10Speaker 2: I was hoping he would tell it. So you set
- 19:14Speaker 2: it up, talk about what he posted, and I'll talk
- 19:16Speaker 2: about the pushback that you.
- 19:18Speaker 3: Gave him, and then the pushback you gave me, which
- 19:21Speaker 3: is pretty excitingness. So anyway, Rob Schneider SNL funny movies, awesome,
- 19:27Speaker 3: great throw in. Additionally, happens to be someone from the
- 19:31Speaker 3: popular culture who appears to be conservative. Fantastic, another layer
- 19:34Speaker 3: of love. Now throw in that. One of Rob's concerns
- 19:37Speaker 3: du jour is the advance of Islamism in America and
- 19:41Speaker 3: specifically in Texas. So so far, great, great, and great.
- 19:46Speaker 3: His chosen device His chosen method of making clear his
- 19:49Speaker 3: level of concern is to smear online Texas Governor Greg Abbott,
- 19:55Speaker 3: Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, and Attorney General Ken Paxton as
- 19:58Speaker 3: somehow thoroughly willing accomplices in the overrun of Texas by Islamism,
- 20:04Speaker 3: as if they have done nothing, you're being you know,
- 20:08Speaker 3: conquered in broad daylight, as his thing.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Well, and he posted a picture of them.
- 20:12Speaker 3: He was like wearing full hyjabs Abbitt, Pats and Patrick.
- 20:16Speaker 3: I've got to say it looks pretty funny, but he's
- 20:20Speaker 3: deadly serious. And okay, everybody should be serious about this.
- 20:25Speaker 3: I'm serious about this, You're serious about this. I took
- 20:29Speaker 3: a look at this, and again in an election season,
- 20:31Speaker 3: which is not really a great time to be doing this.
- 20:34Speaker 3: It absolutely suppresses some degree of Republican enthusiasm, which is
- 20:37Speaker 3: not good. But the notion that nothing has been done
- 20:41Speaker 3: is simply factually false. If anybody thinks that there's more
- 20:44Speaker 3: we can do, great, tell us constructively what this might be.
- 20:48Speaker 3: Rob Schneider's stunt online over the weekend and his statement
- 20:51Speaker 3: released this morning that I shared in detail is performative nonsense.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Now I brought this and then you scolded me as
- 20:59Speaker 3: if my observation about his rhetorical excess meant that I
- 21:04Speaker 3: was faulting him for being concerned. I'm not. We should
- 21:06Speaker 3: all be concerned. His concern is well based. But imagine
- 21:09Speaker 3: somebody saying, hey, Mike Trump sucks on gender issues because
- 21:13Speaker 3: we haven't gotten rid of all the surgeries or shut
- 21:16Speaker 3: down all It's like, wait a minute, while people are
- 21:18Speaker 3: doing what they can, the notion that that that it's
- 21:21Speaker 3: not enough must be joined with what's what you think
- 21:25Speaker 3: is not being done. So I invited I had at
- 21:28Speaker 3: a connection, reached out to Rob to be on the show.
- 21:31Speaker 3: As of when you and I spoke this morning, I
- 21:33Speaker 3: had not heard back. I have now, But let me
- 21:37Speaker 3: pause and lets you and I go through a little
- 21:39Speaker 3: bit here. Did you understand kind of when I was
- 21:41Speaker 3: saying that I'm not faulting him from being concerned and
- 21:43Speaker 3: we should be concerned, but that kind of of of
- 21:47Speaker 3: amplification and exaggeration and performative excess is not helpful to
- 21:53Speaker 3: the fight.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Well, I think every time you defend the establishment, you're
- 21:57Speaker 2: gonna rub people the wrong way. Because we're in the
- 21:59Speaker 2: mood of not defending establishment politicians. Frankly, Democrats or Republicans.
- 22:05Speaker 2: People are deeply concerned about the presence of these Islamic communities,
- 22:11Speaker 2: and one of them got shot down, Thank goodness. In Texas,
- 22:15Speaker 2: somebody just but somebody after you and I spill, I mean,
- 22:17Speaker 2: I got a flood of text messages after they exchange
- 22:20Speaker 2: you and I had and and and you know, it
- 22:21Speaker 2: doesn't mean anything. It's not very anecdotal. But most of
- 22:24Speaker 2: the Texters agreed with me that let's Rob's got a
- 22:29Speaker 2: point that there are still problems in our communities with
- 22:34Speaker 2: the Islamification of the state.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Hasn't been what has not been done, Well, there's genius.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Geniuses tell you the specific policy that is not They're.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Still well, they're still there.
- 22:45Speaker 3: We're not the I mean we have we have we
- 22:47Speaker 3: have bank robberies or the police of failure.
- 22:49Speaker 2: You're well, no, that's not to say you can't equa
- 22:52Speaker 2: you can't expect it's a Muslim community with a bank robbery.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Don't understand. I'm saying that an effort to stop something
- 22:57Speaker 3: or an effort to stem something is not a damnable
- 22:59Speaker 3: failure because a smidgeon of it still exists and they're
- 23:02Speaker 3: still trying. You're darn right, they're trying.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Well, is it? Is it a smidgeon? Because somebody told
- 23:10Speaker 2: me Richardson's gone? Somebody?
- 23:12Speaker 3: I mean, well, you know, you know what that's called.
- 23:14Speaker 3: Somebody saw an Indian guy at Costco. That's what that's called.
- 23:19Speaker 2: I get it.
- 23:20Speaker 3: But it's one person. It's absolutely a concern that we
- 23:25Speaker 3: should be vigilant about. And I'm saying we as a
- 23:28Speaker 3: state have been very vigilant about this. I laid out
- 23:31Speaker 3: part and parcel of every bill, every pronouncement, every lawsuit.
- 23:35Speaker 3: The notion that we've done nothing is just stupid and
- 23:37Speaker 3: it's a lie. Now, if all these people who are
- 23:39Speaker 3: all torked off and hopped up, from Rob Schneider to
- 23:42Speaker 3: anybody else, thinks that we really haven't done enough, tell
- 23:45Speaker 3: me what you want to do. And the absence of
- 23:48Speaker 3: specific shows that what they've done is Jave just walked
- 23:50Speaker 3: outside their door and said, well, there are too many
- 23:53Speaker 3: swarthy people in this neighborhood. We must not be doing enough,
- 23:56Speaker 3: and we need to be fighting smarter and more specifically.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Well, let's let's look at Rob Schneider's words. He said,
- 24:02Speaker 2: here's what we must do. We must all show up
- 24:05Speaker 2: to the polls. Then We must keep showing up to
- 24:07Speaker 2: town hall, city councils, meeting greets. We need to keep
- 24:10Speaker 2: the pressure on and make sure our politicians actually represent us.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Get real conservatives into office, keep the pressure on, get
- 24:17Speaker 2: our churches engaged, because I can promise you every one
- 24:20Speaker 2: of the three hundred and thirty plus mosques in Texas
- 24:23Speaker 2: will be showing up to vote. We got a.
- 24:25Speaker 3: Host because you're totally right. So here here's big your genius,
- 24:29Speaker 3: Rob Schneider saying we must show.
- 24:31Speaker 2: Up to the point putting him down for this bar.
- 24:33Speaker 3: Because the guy because well when I tell you how
- 24:36Speaker 3: he responded to me, you'll probably get a little bit
- 24:38Speaker 3: of this because he's an asshole too. That's another thing.
- 24:41Speaker 3: So the second thing is about this, we need to
- 24:43Speaker 3: elect more, you know, substantial people. He's, by the way,
- 24:46Speaker 3: one hundred percent right about that. So smearing Ken Paxton
- 24:50Speaker 3: ninety nine days before the midterms, Hey, Rob, does that
- 24:53Speaker 3: help him beat Tallerico? You flipping genius? Does it is that?
- 24:57Speaker 3: Tell me how that's helpful? Tell me how that's.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Well, well it's not. But I'm starting to get a
- 25:02Speaker 2: sense that maybe he insulted you in whatever he said
- 25:04Speaker 2: to you today and that's that's because because here's a
- 25:06Speaker 2: text I got from it. Here's a text I got
- 25:09Speaker 2: from a from a friend of mine who said, why
- 25:11Speaker 2: he doesn't agree with you and agreed with me and
- 25:13Speaker 2: Rob Schneider a lifelong textan we have been invaded. Abbott
- 25:18Speaker 2: has been terrible on this subject. And now I don't know.
- 25:23Speaker 2: I'm just talking to me, and neither does this guy.
- 25:26Speaker 3: I mean, so again, every single one of you people,
- 25:29Speaker 3: text it to me, now, send it via email, skywrite
- 25:33Speaker 3: it in the sky.
- 25:34Speaker 2: What have we not done?
- 25:36Speaker 3: And by the way, there may be an answer to that,
- 25:38Speaker 3: but none of these people have that answer. They just
- 25:41Speaker 3: want to bitch and fuss and moan and performatively say,
- 25:46Speaker 3: look at me, I'm more worked up about this than
- 25:49Speaker 3: you are. And it's just for show now for just
- 25:52Speaker 3: ordinary folks on the text line, I hold them in
- 25:54Speaker 3: higher regard. But he can take a look at this
- 25:56Speaker 3: and there are listen, the h one b stuff. There
- 25:59Speaker 3: are areas of absolute concern, absolutely, and we should all
- 26:03Speaker 3: work together and be vigilant about fighting any semblance of
- 26:06Speaker 3: Sharia law, Sharia courts, islamicization, epic city, all those things.
- 26:11Speaker 3: But but this kind, this kind of of of stunt
- 26:17Speaker 3: is not.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Well, tell us tell us your Rob, tell us your
- 26:20Speaker 2: Rob Scheider. Well, here we go.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Now, I was, I was every bit has worked up
- 26:24Speaker 3: about this before he got back, before he got back
- 26:26Speaker 3: in touch.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Now wrapped up, now you're this morning. No, No, it's
- 26:32Speaker 2: because he because he wasn't one yet. He was just
- 26:35Speaker 2: he's not an asshole. He's not. Oh, he's a good guy.
- 26:39Speaker 2: I've been on stage with him, I've been backstage with
- 26:41Speaker 2: him before, I've gotten to know him a little bit
- 26:43Speaker 2: over the years. He's not what what what did he do?
- 26:46Speaker 2: Guess what? Mad?
- 26:47Speaker 3: Whoop de flip and do about your cute little stories
- 26:50Speaker 3: with Rob Schneider. I'm sure And by the way, there
- 26:53Speaker 3: is a likability to him. Sure, that's been a kind
- 26:56Speaker 3: of that's had that has made him and I'm sure
- 26:59Speaker 3: will continue to make him a pretty valuable voice. And
- 27:03Speaker 3: I really think he can be and will be. So
- 27:06Speaker 3: just one of these things is not like the other.
- 27:08Speaker 3: Listen to my invitations and his reply. Okay, Hello, Rob,
- 27:13Speaker 3: It's Mark Davis at Salem Media, Dallas. Could you join
- 27:16Speaker 3: us at nine oh five am Central on six sixty
- 27:18Speaker 3: am the answer to discuss your concerns about Islam in Texas.
- 27:22Speaker 3: Reaction has been mixed, a combination of support for the
- 27:24Speaker 3: proper alarm you share and questions about the optics of
- 27:28Speaker 3: criticizing our top officials as being soft in an election season.
- 27:32Speaker 3: If you're up for it, we'd love to have you.
- 27:34Speaker 3: It would be by phone twelve to fifteen minutes.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Thanks.
- 27:37Speaker 3: So that was at sixty five.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Very gracious, very well written. Very you're not taking necessarily
- 27:44Speaker 2: telegraphing that you're gonna go off on.
- 27:47Speaker 3: Him, And nor would I have. I would have been
- 27:49Speaker 3: filled with goodwill, et cetera, et cetera, He replies at
- 27:52Speaker 3: eight forty two.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Good will nothing screams goodwill. You know nothing, the screams goodwill.
- 27:55Speaker 2: I call him an asshole. Go ahead, that's after the fact.
- 28:00Speaker 2: It's not justified. O pass pass, He replies. I answered
- 28:04Speaker 2: those very questions in my statement. Perhaps you should read it.
- 28:08Speaker 3: If you, oh, okay, you don't you don't do Mark Davis, you.
- 28:15Speaker 2: Don't you know what?
- 28:16Speaker 3: Yes you do, and yes you can come after me
- 28:19Speaker 3: about anything. But this is just stupid. So and I
- 28:23Speaker 3: thought I could let it go because that's exactly what
- 28:25Speaker 3: it deserves. There's wisdom and knowing whom to ignore. And
- 28:27Speaker 3: if Rob becomes just such a person for this little chapter,
- 28:31Speaker 3: I look forward to paying attention to him again on
- 28:33Speaker 3: another issue where where he's better.
- 28:35Speaker 2: Well, and admittedly you're right, a couple of encounters for
- 28:39Speaker 2: five minutes in a green room doesn't matter, doesn't mean anything.
- 28:41Speaker 2: But you know what I like, But I like it,
- 28:45Speaker 2: But I like you what he does. I like what
- 28:46Speaker 2: he stands, ends up and does the course, stand up
- 28:49Speaker 2: routines that are completely politically incorrect. He takes on the establishment.
- 28:54Speaker 3: He's a free speech hero.
- 28:55Speaker 2: And here's the thing where you you sometimes don't read
- 28:58Speaker 2: the room, and this is what you're not recognized.
- 29:00Speaker 3: I don't give two flips.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Well I know you don't because you're not recognizing that
- 29:03Speaker 2: when you get all bent out of shape over somebody
- 29:06Speaker 2: attacking the establishment, you come off like the establishment. Ken
- 29:09Speaker 2: Paxton the establishment. No, but Greg Abbott is the Texas
- 29:14Speaker 2: alledged Patrick the established, the Texas legislature. Answer answer the question,
- 29:20Speaker 2: I am answering the question. He's basically I mean, of
- 29:22Speaker 2: course he went overboard and putting any jobs on their
- 29:24Speaker 2: heads and all that. I get that.
- 29:27Speaker 3: It's a smear of the entire state effort on this
- 29:30Speaker 3: the state effort to to to to stand up to
- 29:33Speaker 3: this deserves more respect than that. And if he constructively
- 29:37Speaker 3: has ideas on how to do it better, we get it.
- 29:39Speaker 2: We get you keep saying, lay out the you want
- 29:41Speaker 2: to comic to lay out the legislative bills and the
- 29:45Speaker 2: verbiage that you want the House of Representatives? Has the
- 29:48Speaker 2: state of Has the state of Texas been successful in
- 29:52Speaker 2: thwarting the Islamification of Texas?
- 29:54Speaker 3: Epic City dead? Jeffrees Every elected official ranks this, along
- 29:59Speaker 3: with property taxes and data centers, as a top three
- 30:04Speaker 3: issue for the entire state the next year's legislative session.
- 30:08Speaker 3: So you know what, Yes, here's the rest of here's
- 30:11Speaker 3: the So. I thought I could let it go, But
- 30:13Speaker 3: when somebody says you'd read it, I figured let's do this.
- 30:18Speaker 3: I said, I have read your statement and addressed it
- 30:22Speaker 3: on the show. I find the core concerns laudable. The
- 30:26Speaker 3: overly broad and uninformed smear, especially of Paxton and Patrick,
- 30:31Speaker 3: not so much. Perhaps the next statement can contain specifics
- 30:35Speaker 3: on what you think leaders are not doing. Meanwhile, thanks
- 30:38Speaker 3: for years of great entertainment and for additional years of
- 30:41Speaker 3: inspiring conservative commentary. You welcome on the show. You're welcome
- 30:45Speaker 3: on the show anytime, agree or disagree.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Good for you. He responded that, yeah you did. What
- 30:51Speaker 2: do you say to that? Go to hell?
- 30:55Speaker 3: He craff and guy, hey, talk show boy, blow me. No,
- 30:58Speaker 3: it's non kidding's no kidding. Sorry, what do you say
- 31:00Speaker 3: to that? It's laughably obvious what these leaders are not doing.
- 31:05Speaker 3: You're being conquered in broad daylight, good day. And so
- 31:09Speaker 3: this chapter is I get it. I get it, and
- 31:11Speaker 3: I get it. I look and again I'm done with him.
- 31:14Speaker 3: I'm not putting a pin in him in Frae. This
- 31:18Speaker 3: is just one thing. You know what, I think. I
- 31:19Speaker 3: think he's been reading some stuff, hearing some people equally
- 31:24Speaker 3: to about whom I would say the same thing. Good
- 31:27Speaker 3: for you for being concerned. But I'm never as you
- 31:29Speaker 3: guys aren't doing anything.
- 31:31Speaker 2: Somebody when somebody reaches out in good faith like that,
- 31:34Speaker 2: like you did, and somebody is clearly trying to take
- 31:37Speaker 2: the high road here and say let's have a good
- 31:39Speaker 2: robust conversation about no interest in that whatsoever, and look
- 31:43Speaker 2: at just say not be his thing. I'll bet he's
- 31:45Speaker 2: gotten burned in radio interviews over the years. So maybe
- 31:48Speaker 2: he's a little skitty, my conservative. Well, he had no
- 31:51Speaker 2: interest in engaging. And you said something interesting three four
- 31:54Speaker 2: minutes ago, Hey, Mark, you want a comedian to give
- 31:57Speaker 2: policy positions?
- 31:58Speaker 3: Yeah? You know what if the median is going to
- 32:01Speaker 3: step out into this arena and smear an entire state
- 32:05Speaker 3: full of officials, Yeah, you better dog on. Well be
- 32:08Speaker 3: ready to back up again.
- 32:09Speaker 2: First of all, it's so peculiar to me that you
- 32:11Speaker 2: keep using this word smear as if as if these
- 32:14Speaker 2: these lifelong Republican politicians are your your your brothers in
- 32:19Speaker 2: in in solidarity or something. They're establishment politicians. And he's
- 32:24Speaker 2: saying what I'm I'm addressing your specific pushback, which is,
- 32:28Speaker 2: do you want with specificity, with specificity? What does he want?
- 32:32Speaker 2: He lays it out. I just read it to you.
- 32:35Speaker 2: What he says about churches showing up, going to the
- 32:37Speaker 2: ballance box.
- 32:38Speaker 3: He's identified, he's identified that we are all aware of
- 32:41Speaker 3: the problem. Every single person knows exactly what he's talking about.
- 32:45Speaker 3: He's asking for, does he have an expectation that with
- 32:49Speaker 3: the things that that that Abbott and Patrick and Paxton
- 32:53Speaker 3: in particular, right, none would he expect that that all
- 32:56Speaker 3: the Muslims are just shrivel up and stop trying this.
- 33:00Speaker 3: This is a war, this is a battle, and he
- 33:02Speaker 3: is right, and he's on the right side of it
- 33:04Speaker 3: and right to call for people to take up ideological
- 33:07Speaker 3: arms against it. But the notion that it hasn't been
- 33:10Speaker 3: eradicated on my timetable, So all these people deserve to
- 33:14Speaker 3: be mocked and derided by me.
- 33:16Speaker 2: Screw you, buddy, screw you your reactions. It seems a
- 33:20Speaker 2: little over the top for me. I don't know why.
- 33:22Speaker 2: I don't know why he's made you so angry. I mean,
- 33:24Speaker 2: you're you. You mean to tell me that if a
- 33:26Speaker 2: caller to your show says, you know what, Mark, I
- 33:29Speaker 2: just don't think the Texas legislature and and this this
- 33:32Speaker 2: bunch with with Abbot and Packston have done enough on
- 33:35Speaker 2: this particular subject. You fly into this this tizzy about
- 33:40Speaker 2: these good people. I mean, it's very strange. It's like
- 33:46Speaker 2: a stat It's like going after the Republican machine in
- 33:49Speaker 2: Texas is your achilles heel, Like somehow that bothers you.
- 33:52Speaker 2: You're right machine, you're.
- 33:55Speaker 3: In particular. Of course, it's a it's a better Abbot
- 33:59Speaker 3: now than four years ago. Yeah, with Pat, with Patrick
- 34:02Speaker 3: and Paxton. The notion that they are soft on no,
- 34:05Speaker 3: I got them. How high do you have to be?
- 34:08Speaker 3: I agree, But when somebody's bullshitting people, but it's.
- 34:11Speaker 2: Just it just it's just it's just it's just funny
- 34:14Speaker 2: that you're getting so angry about it. It's like, I mean, look,
- 34:18Speaker 2: we are all we are. We are tired of Republican
- 34:22Speaker 2: and I'm not sending this directed to Texas, but when
- 34:24Speaker 2: tired of Republicans writ large not getting crap done, we
- 34:29Speaker 2: are tired. We are tired of getting pushed around by this.
- 34:33Speaker 2: These idiot democrats. They want to go off on vacation.
- 34:37Speaker 2: They want to go, by the way, where's your sainted
- 34:40Speaker 2: Ted Cruz? Demanding that we not take vacation, They not
- 34:43Speaker 2: take vacation. Next one, there's four senators, Rick Scott, who else?
- 34:49Speaker 2: Ashley Moody, I think, Jim Jim Banks. I forget the
- 34:53Speaker 2: fourth one. Ted Cruse ain't on that list. Jed Brews
- 34:57Speaker 2: want to go on a thirty seven day vacation when
- 34:58Speaker 2: they haven't passed the Save Him Act, you know what
- 35:01Speaker 2: I mean? And it's like, and I like Ted Cruz,
- 35:03Speaker 2: but come on, guys, this is under This is fundamental
- 35:07Speaker 2: and I did a whole thing today, Mark on the show,
- 35:10Speaker 2: asking people why they thought Thune won't budge on the
- 35:14Speaker 2: Save America Act. When you usual to say, well, well,
- 35:16Speaker 2: a lot of them were saying, he's he's compromised, he's
- 35:20Speaker 2: getting bought off, he's getting paid off, somehow, he hates Trump,
- 35:24Speaker 2: he's a he's a Mitch McConnell, Tody.
- 35:26Speaker 3: The money thing. I think it's almost always idealized. I
- 35:30Speaker 3: think it has to do with a TD, with Trump hesitancy,
- 35:32Speaker 3: at least, if not for TDS notion that he's We
- 35:36Speaker 3: always like to think when things are inexplicable, we think
- 35:38Speaker 3: somebody is being paid, so he ain't getting paid. But
- 35:42Speaker 3: it is inexplicable.
- 35:44Speaker 2: Sometimes the things that you think are could be the
- 35:46Speaker 2: case are the case. I mean, something is weird here.
- 35:50Speaker 2: We've all seen the polling, eighty eighty five percent. You
- 35:53Speaker 2: got Trump hammering Thune now. This morning, Trump put out
- 35:57Speaker 2: a post on social media, John Thune should not allow
- 36:00Speaker 2: the US Senate to leave town until it passes the
- 36:03Speaker 2: Save America Act, or far better still, terminate the filibuster,
- 36:06Speaker 2: where Republicans could then quickly pass everything they ever dreamed of,
- 36:10Speaker 2: including a full and deep throated Save America Act. He
- 36:12Speaker 2: said at the end, he said, the dumb the Democrats,
- 36:15Speaker 2: as he calls them, they'll do it on day one.
- 36:18Speaker 2: They can't believe how lucky they got with this Senate leadership.
- 36:21Speaker 2: So now after playing foot seat with Thune for a while,
- 36:24Speaker 2: now he's now he's putting the hammer down.
- 36:26Speaker 3: And properly so and rightfully so. And in this we
- 36:29Speaker 3: have found a great example of Republicans who have failed
- 36:33Speaker 3: to do everything they could on an issue, not to
- 36:35Speaker 3: bring everything back around.
- 36:36Speaker 2: Amen, and so proper tark. And so the microcosm of
- 36:40Speaker 2: that might be Texas. Rob Schneider might be feeling that
- 36:43Speaker 2: frustration to a degree. A lot of our textures are too,
- 36:48Speaker 2: And so I just I just think we've got to
- 36:50Speaker 2: expect more from our leadership, maybe not necessarily on this
- 36:54Speaker 2: this Islam issue. Look here in New York City, can
- 36:57Speaker 2: you imagine waking up or being woken up at six
- 37:00Speaker 2: seven in the morning to the Muslim call to prayer
- 37:03Speaker 2: on speakers blasting in your neighborhood. How would that go
- 37:08Speaker 2: over in uh, you know, in uh in Keller, Texas.
- 37:12Speaker 3: I try to funny pick your suburb because it may
- 37:14Speaker 3: soon be coming to some of the that's the suburban community.
- 37:19Speaker 2: Point, but markets and I'm kind of a I'm funny
- 37:22Speaker 2: about noise. I don't know how you are, But having
- 37:25Speaker 2: lived in a high rise in Manhattan for years, noise
- 37:27Speaker 2: doesn't really get to me anymore. I sleep with air plugs,
- 37:30Speaker 2: horns honking and all that crap. You don't It doesn't
- 37:33Speaker 2: bother me that much. But if I'm in some suburb
- 37:36Speaker 2: with a leafy you know, birds chirping, and all of
- 37:40Speaker 2: a sudden, oh you get that. Can you imagine that
- 37:43Speaker 2: at six or seven in the morning, I think I'd
- 37:45Speaker 2: lose my mind.
- 37:46Speaker 3: Here is the is this Is this a good point
- 37:49Speaker 3: or a false equivalency? Because here's what some people what
- 37:52Speaker 3: I've heard some people say. Yeah, people talked about a
- 37:55Speaker 3: noise ordinance, or people talked about the sound of the
- 37:57Speaker 3: Islamic called a prayer and some of the boroughs of
- 37:59Speaker 3: New York City. I know it's not it's not the
- 38:01Speaker 3: same theologically, obviously, but is it a different facet of
- 38:07Speaker 3: the same issue.
- 38:08Speaker 2: Church bells?
- 38:09Speaker 3: Get ready, church bells exactly right? I know you're going
- 38:12Speaker 3: if Saint Patrick's can ring them at eight am? Soaking
- 38:15Speaker 3: the mosque three blocks down.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Well, the one that I saw, I think was six
- 38:20Speaker 2: in the morning. I think the Muslim called.
- 38:23Speaker 3: That would be a note, well, that would be a
- 38:24Speaker 3: note of me for from the bells church many good.
- 38:27Speaker 2: And I ain't clanging any bells at six in the
- 38:30Speaker 2: morning that I know of. Oh boy, But I like
- 38:33Speaker 2: it when we disagree. But you know what that we
- 38:34Speaker 2: can both agree on. You and I bring everybody together.
- 38:37Speaker 2: What's something we can we can swell being heart healthy?
- 38:40Speaker 2: And you, you, you took us through your experience last
- 38:43Speaker 2: week of of getting that angie of plasty. I then,
- 38:46Speaker 2: like you know, ran right out and got a body
- 38:48Speaker 2: scan like you did, and sure enough they found some
- 38:51Speaker 2: plaque in my widow maker. And so look the doctors
- 38:56Speaker 2: are and I'm going to get another test next week
- 38:58Speaker 2: or two weeks from now where they're going to the die.
- 39:00Speaker 2: I think you went through that too, where they do
- 39:02Speaker 2: a cardio thing and they put the die in you,
- 39:04Speaker 2: slide you in the tube and they look again. Because
- 39:06Speaker 2: as I learned, I'm learning everything now about heart health.
- 39:09Speaker 2: Not only does the body scan doesn't show apparently soft plac,
- 39:13Speaker 2: it shows hard plack. And you want to you gotta
- 39:16Speaker 2: we got to watch the soft plaque too, according to
- 39:18Speaker 2: my doc, and so this die can do that. What
- 39:22Speaker 2: I do know is you got to take the weight off.
- 39:25Speaker 2: You got to keep your blood pressure under control, you
- 39:27Speaker 2: got to exercise. I'm doing all of that. And the
- 39:30Speaker 2: way that I've taken the weight off, of course is
- 39:32Speaker 2: PhD Weight Loss and Nutrition. Look, this is this is
- 39:35Speaker 2: such a godsend in my life. Everybody I know who's
- 39:38Speaker 2: tried it has kept the weight off. I lost over
- 39:41Speaker 2: fifty and I've kept it off. Then I put a
- 39:43Speaker 2: little bit of it back on, and then I've lost
- 39:45Speaker 2: about twenty here in the last just five four or
- 39:48Speaker 2: five weeks. Quick fixes are going to fail, but doctor
- 39:53Speaker 2: Ashley Lucas's program has been the game changer for me.
- 39:56Speaker 2: And I'm convinced that, Look, if I've got a fighting
- 39:59Speaker 2: chance to stay ahead of all this stuff, I'll do
- 40:02Speaker 2: it with the weight loss. I'll do it with good
- 40:03Speaker 2: with exercise and proper diet. And you can do it
- 40:07Speaker 2: to Call PhD Weight Loss Mention Mike and Mark. They're
- 40:10Speaker 2: going to add two free weeks to your program. They'll
- 40:12Speaker 2: pay for the cost of your food as well. Call

- 40:25Speaker 2: and market. Isn't it kind of cool to add like sponsors.
- 40:29Speaker 3: To our little wellers, so to say? And along those lines,
- 40:32Speaker 3: as as the sponsor family grows, let's go from lightening
- 40:35Speaker 3: ourselves in terms of our weights to lightning our mood
- 40:39Speaker 3: and our spirit and just feeling lighter as you go
- 40:41Speaker 3: through the day amid all these heavy times, lots of
- 40:43Speaker 3: tough things in the news. When we go looking for entertainment,
- 40:46Speaker 3: sometimes even the entertainment can be dark and disturbing. And
- 40:49Speaker 3: everybody can go find what they want in a free country.
- 40:51Speaker 3: But if you're looking for entertainment, you're looking for movies, shows,
- 40:54Speaker 3: podcasts that are uplifting and faith based. Who better than
- 40:57Speaker 3: the whole Robertson Klan of Duck Dynasty fame to bring
- 41:00Speaker 3: us the magnificent content at echel e kkl echel dot com.
- 41:04Speaker 3: We mentioned it for the first time a few moments ago,
- 41:07Speaker 3: and I dug a little deeper. It's from obvious Duck
- 41:09Speaker 3: Dynasty episodes to Unashamed of Phil robertson the God's Not
- 41:12Speaker 3: Dead series of movies, Divine Influencer, various daily devotionals, just
- 41:19Speaker 3: all the movies, a lot, a lot of them that
- 41:21Speaker 3: have been well promoted in our Salem media landscape. It's
- 41:24Speaker 3: like a one stop shop to explore Echel, ekkl, e kko,
- 41:28Speaker 3: echel dot com movies and series that families can watch
- 41:32Speaker 3: together and feel good about. It's a wonderful, wonderful development.
- 41:36Speaker 2: We know you how to be talking about me too,
- 41:37Speaker 2: And you know you mentioned podcasts. I know a podcast
- 41:41Speaker 2: I don't know. I mean they may not want to
- 41:43Speaker 2: go political, but maybe they do. I know people, so

- 42:03Speaker 2: Our pal Joey is in South Carolina. You and I
- 42:06Speaker 2: just touched on Darlene Graham this morning. Can we kind
- 42:10Speaker 2: of end with a little conversation about.
- 42:12Speaker 3: Senator Graham's I caught grief off of my text line
- 42:15Speaker 3: about that. You go first, and I'll tell you what
- 42:17Speaker 3: somebody said.
- 42:18Speaker 2: To me, well, this week Lindsey Graham will be laid
- 42:20Speaker 2: to rest. There'll be services at the National Cathedral in Washington,
- 42:25Speaker 2: d C. Tomorrow. Sure to be a very I'm sure impressive,
- 42:30Speaker 2: you know, memorial send off for him in d C.
- 42:33Speaker 2: At our nation's capitol where he spends so much time,
- 42:35Speaker 2: and then to his hometown. Then they're going to go
- 42:37Speaker 2: to South Carolina and they're going to to bury him there.
- 42:41Speaker 2: There'll be services in Pickens, South Carolina, and Joey is
- 42:46Speaker 2: going to be there to cover the funeral for us
- 42:50Speaker 2: on the Mike Gallagher Show. Hey, why don't we get
- 42:52Speaker 2: him on the podcast tomorrow? You up for that? By
- 42:55Speaker 2: all means, why not Let's see if we can get
- 42:57Speaker 2: him on and we maybe could do a report. Maybe
- 43:00Speaker 2: we could kind of get him on the show tomorrow
- 43:01Speaker 2: and fill us in from our nation's capital. But of course,
- 43:07Speaker 2: the political aspect of this, besides the human sorrow of
- 43:11Speaker 2: losing a guy unexpectedly like that who had had a
- 43:15Speaker 2: heart attack after hardening of the arteries that he was
- 43:17Speaker 2: evidently unaware of. Maybe now we got to dive into
- 43:23Speaker 2: who's going to fill his seat? Darlene Graham nordone is
- 43:27Speaker 2: his little sister, and he has had just a lifelong mentorship.
- 43:33Speaker 2: She described him once as mother, father and you know,
- 43:37Speaker 2: big brother, all wrapped up into one because their parents
- 43:40Speaker 2: died when they were both relatively young. She was thirteen,
- 43:43Speaker 2: he was twenty one. He raised her, he taught her,
- 43:46Speaker 2: he mentored her. She's apparently a nice lady, but nobody
- 43:49Speaker 2: knows anything about her. And now she wants after being
- 43:52Speaker 2: promised that she was going to be the placeholder and
- 43:55Speaker 2: just temporarily until they could until the general now's she
- 44:00Speaker 2: wants the job full time, and a lot of people
- 44:04Speaker 2: are mark You know, I know South Carolina, the pushback
- 44:08Speaker 2: there is pretty big. But I will tell you this,
- 44:11Speaker 2: the pushback against Lindsey was always big, and yet he
- 44:14Speaker 2: always won in a landslide. Yes, nobody ever came close
- 44:18Speaker 2: to him. And right now she's ahead in most of
- 44:21Speaker 2: the polling. So what say you tell us about the
- 44:23Speaker 2: pushback you got and tell him bring us up to
- 44:26Speaker 2: speed on your experience with Darlene Graham Nordon.
- 44:30Speaker 3: She obviously has the name recognition and obviously has the
- 44:33Speaker 3: sympathy vote in people feeling as they should about her,
- 44:35Speaker 3: grieving with her and wishing her every good thing and
- 44:38Speaker 3: praying for her in that whole family. Does that instantly
- 44:41Speaker 3: translate to, hey, this lady needs to be a United
- 44:43Speaker 3: States Senator for six years. No, not necessarily. With people
- 44:50Speaker 3: like Ralph Norman, like Russell Fryer, like Mark Sandford, maybe
- 44:54Speaker 3: Pam Evatt running real conservatives with real track records, I
- 44:58Speaker 3: think it's time to opt in in that direction. I
- 45:01Speaker 3: said so on the show today. And I don't know
- 45:04Speaker 3: if it's like somebody in Darlene's press shop or something.
- 45:07Speaker 3: I don't think. SO said don't why speak ill of her?
- 45:11Speaker 3: If you like other candidates, lift them up without criticizing her.
- 45:15Speaker 3: I'm not criticizing her per se. I'm saying that what
- 45:19Speaker 3: she suddenly I defended her when people got kind of
- 45:25Speaker 3: snarky when she was going to be the placeholder for
- 45:27Speaker 3: a few months. I thought it was kind of I
- 45:29Speaker 3: thought it was kind of poetic. I thought it was beautiful.
- 45:31Speaker 3: I thought it was fitting and appropriate. But then all
- 45:34Speaker 3: of a sudden, ten minutes later, bam, I want the
- 45:36Speaker 3: full six years. It's like what WHOA?
- 45:38Speaker 2: Well?
- 45:38Speaker 3: Now we have far more serious questions and she doesn't,
- 45:41Speaker 3: for the moment want to answer them. And I listen,
- 45:43Speaker 3: We're going to give everybody all the latitude we can
- 45:45Speaker 3: when they're grieving. They got funerals to go to. I
- 45:48Speaker 3: get it, I get it, I get it. But if
- 45:49Speaker 3: this lady has made the decision to enter the fray,
- 45:51Speaker 3: to get into the arena and be a real senator,
- 45:54Speaker 3: I do not want to hear and South Carolinians do
- 45:57Speaker 3: not want to hear that. I can't talk to you
- 45:59Speaker 3: right now because the funerals are next week.
- 46:02Speaker 2: There was an AI version of her surrounded by the reporters,
- 46:07Speaker 2: and it was real exaggerated, and it was her pretending
- 46:10Speaker 2: to say, don't you dare ask me questions? I'm grieving.
- 46:14Speaker 2: Can't you see I'm grieving. You need to direct those
- 46:17Speaker 2: questions to my staff. And a lot of the comments
- 46:20Speaker 2: about that post were that really isn't all that far
- 46:23Speaker 2: from what's happening.
- 46:24Speaker 3: Here, And so once again it's one of those real
- 46:26Speaker 3: tough things because nobody wants to deny or begrudge her
- 46:29Speaker 3: her feelings or her this. But if she wasn't ready
- 46:31Speaker 3: to go day one, start answering serious questions, how conservative
- 46:34Speaker 3: are you? Will you be as good, if not maybe
- 46:37Speaker 3: even more of a Trump ally than Lindsey was over
- 46:39Speaker 3: his years. These are valid questions that deserve and by
- 46:42Speaker 3: to South Carolina's credit, this is not you know, Texas,
- 46:46Speaker 3: God blessed Texas, but we took two three months to
- 46:48Speaker 3: get from a campaign to a election day to a runoff.
- 46:52Speaker 3: South Carolina is going to have this all done within weeks.
- 46:55Speaker 3: That means there's added urgency, added immediacy. So God bless her.
- 46:59Speaker 3: I wish her every good thing. But with at least two,
- 47:01Speaker 3: maybe three, maybe four proven conservatives on the ballot, I'm
- 47:07Speaker 3: just if I'm in South Carolina, I couldn't do it.
- 47:10Speaker 2: No, I can't. I can't. I couldn't do it either.
- 47:12Speaker 2: So we'll keep you up to date. We'll maybe check
- 47:15Speaker 2: in with Joey tomorrow, but definitely covering the funeral on
- 47:18Speaker 2: the Mike Callagher Show. I'm sure you'll mention it tomorrow morning.
- 47:21Speaker 2: I've headed out of here. I got a plane to catch.
- 47:23Speaker 2: I'm on a real airline this time, not that Allegiant
- 47:26Speaker 2: isn't a real airline, but can I get this off
- 47:28Speaker 2: my chest? Of course? Have you ever flow an Allegiant?
- 47:31Speaker 2: I have not. Well, I booked a ticket because I
- 47:35Speaker 2: go back and forth from Tampa to Greenville, a lot
- 47:37Speaker 2: right Greenville, South Carolina, which is like my home away
- 47:40Speaker 2: from home, Tampa, which is with the Tampa Bay where
- 47:43Speaker 2: I live. And Allegiant has nonstops. Most of the conventional
- 47:48Speaker 2: airlines you got to go, you know, through Doubt, you
- 47:50Speaker 2: gotta go through Atlanta, or you got to go through Dallas.
- 47:53Speaker 2: You go through all these. But Allegiant, now, of course,
- 47:56Speaker 2: the fair is like thirty seven cents to get from
- 48:00Speaker 2: point eight to point B. I don't know how these
- 48:01Speaker 2: budget airlines do it. Well, I know how they do it.
- 48:03Speaker 2: They tack on if you go to the if you
- 48:06Speaker 2: go to the bathroom, but it's a twenty five dollars
- 48:08Speaker 2: surch arge. You use the laboratory. You want tires on
- 48:10Speaker 2: the plane, that's right, right right. You want you want
- 48:12Speaker 2: your windows to be open or closed. So I have
- 48:15Speaker 2: to I book a flight on Allegiant, and I when
- 48:18Speaker 2: the cheap, when the fair is cheap, I do my
- 48:21Speaker 2: old little trick. When I'm not in first class, buy
- 48:23Speaker 2: two seats because you get to spread out you get them.
- 48:27Speaker 2: This is I always do this. Michael Gallagher is passenger one.
- 48:31Speaker 2: Extra seat. Gallagher is passenger number two. I mean when
- 48:34Speaker 2: the fair is ninety nine dollars. Okay, now it's two
- 48:38Speaker 2: hundred bucks. And I've got two seats. I can spread out,
- 48:40Speaker 2: I can put magazines next to me. So I've got
- 48:43Speaker 2: two seats that I need to cancel on Allegiant going
- 48:47Speaker 2: like back from Greenville to Tampa. Well, good luck canceling
- 48:51Speaker 2: a flight on Allegiant. I caught. I couldn't. They wouldn't
- 48:54Speaker 2: let me do it online. They kept saying, we're a
- 48:58Speaker 2: non refundable airline. You're just out of luck. No money
- 49:02Speaker 2: back or no or a travel credit. I'm give me
- 49:05Speaker 2: a credit for a future flight, right, No, no, we
- 49:08Speaker 2: keep the money. This is like, you know, almost a week.
- 49:11Speaker 3: Didn't you know that going in?
- 49:13Speaker 2: I did not know that going I didn't think any airline.
- 49:15Speaker 2: I thought they weren't allowed to do that. I thought
- 49:17Speaker 2: they said the airline in I so guess. So they said,
- 49:22Speaker 2: call our customer service rip line if you have questions. Okay,
- 49:26Speaker 2: sure I call. It's a seven oh two area code,
- 49:29Speaker 2: so I guess Allegian is Vegas, Vegas exactly, So I
- 49:33Speaker 2: call the number. Hello, We're sorry. Your wait time today
- 49:37Speaker 2: will be between are you ready for this? Three and
- 49:40Speaker 2: four hours that's the waight time, and they're telling you
- 49:46Speaker 2: between three and four hours. So I'm out of luck.
- 49:50Speaker 2: I've just lost the money, I guess, because I'm not
- 49:52Speaker 2: gonna wait man. So beware some of these and again
- 49:56Speaker 2: God bless them. You know, there's a very culture social
- 50:01Speaker 2: aspect to these low cost, low budget airlines, like.
- 50:05Speaker 3: They really fel in need, they really fill it.
- 50:07Speaker 2: Well, they fill the need. But you know, that's why
- 50:10Speaker 2: you see a lot of these brawls on social media
- 50:13Speaker 2: that are happening on Spirit and they're happening on Allegian,
- 50:17Speaker 2: and they're happening on these discount airlines because people, I mean,
- 50:22Speaker 2: it sounds so condescending of us Mark, but isn't it
- 50:24Speaker 2: true that people who ordinarily wouldn't be able to afford
- 50:27Speaker 2: to fly can afford to fly. And maybe they just
- 50:29Speaker 2: don't have the I don't know, the decorum that you
- 50:33Speaker 2: think they would have.
- 50:33Speaker 3: On an airpaese it could be. But also, I mean, yes,
- 50:37Speaker 3: is that part of it.
- 50:38Speaker 2: Sure?
- 50:38Speaker 3: But also flying used to be so pleasant and it's
- 50:42Speaker 3: just become torture, even on a real airline with the
- 50:47Speaker 3: normal middle of the plane kind of scene. It's all
- 50:49Speaker 3: become like a cattle call. You mentioned Spirit. I think
- 50:53Speaker 3: I might have told. I don't know if it's told
- 50:54Speaker 3: this joke before back and every once every ten years,
- 50:57Speaker 3: SNL can be funny. I think it was Colins. On
- 51:01Speaker 3: weekend update, the story was this American Airlines has set
- 51:06Speaker 3: a record in aviation by having a eighteen hour flight
- 51:11Speaker 3: longest flight possible eighteen hours from New York City to Sydney, Australia.
- 51:16Speaker 3: Not to be outdone, Spirit Airlines is introduced it's own
- 51:20Speaker 3: eighteen hour flight from New York to Boston.
- 51:24Speaker 2: All right, tip your waitresses, he's gonna be here all week.
- 51:27Speaker 2: We're gonna be back tomorrow. Another episode of eminem Extra.
- 51:31Speaker 2: I love you. Happy Monday. Let's do it again tomorrow,
- 51:34Speaker 2: shall we? Let's do see everybody
