- 1:14Speaker 4: So yeah, it's too.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Bad, but what did you expect.
- 1:17Speaker 4: It's a podcast called twenty five Whistline by Eddy blow.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Whistle's looking at our parlay and Kevin and I missed
- 1:27Speaker 1: yeah last night, so.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Me and Reed got it around. It never happens out
- 1:33Speaker 3: of the four of us is crazy.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Yeah, wow, yeah, wait, we'll talk about it. Well.
- 1:38Speaker 3: That goes to show you that this is all just
- 1:40Speaker 3: kind of luck.
- 1:41Speaker 1: It's not I mean, it's not me. Hey. I will
- 1:43Speaker 1: start by saying this, though I have have been on
- 1:46Speaker 1: a cooler and so I've hit six in a row.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I didn't bet to parlay and be asking you guys.
- 1:52Speaker 3: That's why.
- 1:53Speaker 1: No, it's I tell you guys. I don't like the parlays.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I hate having to make them.
- 1:59Speaker 3: If you don't have faith in our parlay, how are
- 2:01Speaker 3: we supposed to put that out?
- 2:02Speaker 1: Most if I do all them.
- 2:07Speaker 3: I got, I got it. Yeah makes sense.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I've fits. I fits six bets in a row. I
- 2:14Speaker 1: was so cold that I then was like, let's just
- 2:18Speaker 1: and then I did a heat check where I bet eat.
- 2:22Speaker 1: During the game, I bet Lad mcconkeye and Texans wide
- 2:28Speaker 1: receiver Nico Collins score touchdown both as a PARLAYO hit
- 2:32Speaker 1: them both. Come believe it. I bet a thousand bucks
- 2:37Speaker 1: on Ohio State to cover, and I bet big on
- 2:44Speaker 1: the one we bet on. Yeah, so were the ones
- 2:48Speaker 1: easy go kind of easy come. I'm not quite back yet,
- 2:51Speaker 1: but I'm off the I'm off just eating green streak. Yeah,
- 2:55Speaker 1: that's all I was doing, was eating green peas. Like
- 2:56Speaker 1: three days is a rough one. Uh, we'll start with Kevin,
- 3:02Speaker 1: how about you? Yeah, big deal, Kevin is it master.
- 3:05Speaker 5: Patriots fan's right, that's right?
- 3:07Speaker 1: Even bigger than him getting engaged?
- 3:10Speaker 3: Yeah oh yeah, yeah, yeah, sure, bigger than that.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Mike Rabel's dad, coach and the Patriots.
- 3:15Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, I mean, forget the twins that are coming.
- 3:17Speaker 5: Mike Rabel is a coach. Got Mike freaking Rabel your thoughts.
- 3:22Speaker 5: I love it. It was a very very good way
- 3:25Speaker 5: to start the day, like the one and only with
- 3:27Speaker 5: the Dan Hurley. I believe it. Ukon said, you better
- 3:29Speaker 5: get us now because we're coming and the Patriots are
- 3:31Speaker 5: coming back. We got the quarterback, we got the head coach.
- 3:34Speaker 5: That's the two pillars that you need to restart this
- 3:39Speaker 5: organization in the right direction. And we're on our way.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Not if the Jets have something to say about are.
- 3:43Speaker 5: Going down again they don't have a coach. Y Yeah,
- 3:47Speaker 5: I love it. I just I watched the news conference
- 3:50Speaker 5: this morning and Rabel he fires me up, man, I'm ready.
- 3:53Speaker 1: If they would have hired Brabel from the Titans, meaning
- 3:58Speaker 1: when the Titans they were just playing ho hum, if
- 4:01Speaker 1: they would have hired him from the Titans, how would
- 4:04Speaker 1: you felt like right when Belichick left Belichick were hiring
- 4:08Speaker 1: Raibele from the Titans, because my feeling is you wouldn't
- 4:10Speaker 1: be as pumped.
- 4:11Speaker 5: I would have maybe, well, because here's the thing.
- 4:14Speaker 1: These coaches that sometimes lose a job and they have
- 4:16Speaker 1: a year off, they kind of get rebuilt by the media.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Had an amazing and again I'm not saying he wasn't
- 4:21Speaker 1: amazing at what he does, but it's almost like a
- 4:23Speaker 1: rehab year.
- 4:24Speaker 6: Mike McCarthy, right, he took a little time off. A
- 4:26Speaker 6: lot of that happens with a lot of coaches.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know that you would have loved it
- 4:30Speaker 1: as much if Rabel comes from the Titans and goes
- 4:33Speaker 1: right to the Patriots.
- 4:34Speaker 5: Maybe not as much. That's a good point. It's always
- 4:36Speaker 5: that saying too. You don't really know what you're missing
- 4:38Speaker 5: until it's gone. So you're always like, oh, Belichick's it's
- 4:40Speaker 5: time for him to go. Let's get something. That mail
- 4:42Speaker 5: comes in, you're like, oh my gosh, this is really bad.
- 4:44Speaker 5: And then you get something new and you get a
- 4:45Speaker 5: little like, you know, rejoice and something new. And Rabel
- 4:49Speaker 5: coming in, but his teams, I mean he had Henry,
- 4:52Speaker 5: he had Ryan Tannehill and they went like twelve and five.
- 4:54Speaker 3: They had the one seat that one year too.
- 4:56Speaker 1: But didn't he draft Marcus Mariota or is that before?
- 5:01Speaker 5: And then did he have Mariota? And then his front
- 5:03Speaker 5: office got rid of a J. Brown Derrick Henry eventually well.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Then stand up be a man to keep him as
- 5:10Speaker 1: the coach. My point isn't so much about Rabel, but
- 5:13Speaker 1: a lot of times when a coach gets fired and
- 5:14Speaker 1: takes a year off, there's kind of like this new
- 5:16Speaker 1: Polish that's put on them, and it's like, oh, I
- 5:18Speaker 1: wonder because he has all these options, Well he didn't
- 5:21Speaker 1: last year.
- 5:22Speaker 3: And is it do you think Rabel is a good
- 5:24Speaker 3: coach or is it that he's a patriot and he's
- 5:27Speaker 3: back home.
- 5:28Speaker 7: No.
- 5:28Speaker 5: I think he's a good coach. I think Mayo had
- 5:31Speaker 5: trouble leading like a team in an organization and getting
- 5:33Speaker 5: the right coaches. And then Rabel comes in and he's
- 5:36Speaker 5: immediately I feel like going to have these guys respect,
- 5:39Speaker 5: and the entire team and the organization is going to
- 5:41Speaker 5: buy into what he's selling. With Mayo, I mean, he
- 5:44Speaker 5: was all over the place all year, like throwing his
- 5:46Speaker 5: players under the bus, his coaches under the bus. Where
- 5:49Speaker 5: Rabel will be whether it's good or right, or right
- 5:51Speaker 5: or wrong, he'll say this is my fault. I'll get
- 5:53Speaker 5: on track.
- 5:53Speaker 1: He's had experience being a head coach. Mayo has not. Yeah,
- 5:56Speaker 1: so again you're comparing Mayo's first year to Vrabel's head
- 6:02Speaker 1: coaching career. But again that's the reason why they're hiring him.
- 6:06Speaker 1: I think you a culture guy. I think he's also
- 6:07Speaker 1: a good coach. Because as much as I'm messing around
- 6:10Speaker 1: about would you have wanted them for the Titans, like
- 6:12Speaker 1: he did a lot with a little here, yeah before
- 6:14Speaker 1: we are Yeah, it wasn't like they were loading them
- 6:17Speaker 1: up with weapons.
- 6:18Speaker 5: And he said we need to get the past game
- 6:20Speaker 5: going for the Patriots. So well then I'm loaded. He said,
- 6:25Speaker 5: we're coming.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Let's go big. Okay, let's do best news then best
- 6:30Speaker 1: news of the weekend, and it can be in whatever
- 6:32Speaker 1: form you want. If it can be uh sports or life?
- 6:35Speaker 1: Is yours gonna be vrabel?
- 6:36Speaker 3: Oh yeah, Eddie, I mean mine's breaking news. I think
- 6:40Speaker 3: the best news for us is the Dallas Cowboys got
- 6:41Speaker 3: rid of Mikeelworthy and not.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Necessarily see it. I've been so my head's been in
- 6:46Speaker 1: work all morning.
- 6:46Speaker 3: We're finally coachless and now we're open.
- 6:48Speaker 1: We wouldn't let him interview with the Bears and they
- 6:50Speaker 1: fire him.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Apparently they couldn't get the contract right, so it took
- 6:53Speaker 3: time to get the length of the contract.
- 6:55Speaker 1: That's starty dog boom. They wouldn't let him interview with
- 6:57Speaker 1: the Bears and then they cut him. Bears jobs still
- 6:59Speaker 1: open though, But.
- 7:01Speaker 3: Is it dirty dog? Because they let Ezekiel Elliott go
- 7:03Speaker 3: to the Chargers and play a playoff game.
- 7:04Speaker 1: That's not the same thing that a little bit. Dude,
- 7:08Speaker 1: I did not know you got a film. Is there
- 7:10Speaker 1: any other news to that?
- 7:11Speaker 3: Cause again, that's it, and he's no longer a cowboy.
- 7:14Speaker 3: So now we're open for business and it just happened. Yeah,
- 7:17Speaker 3: Deon Sanders, we're here. That's who you want if you
- 7:21Speaker 3: bring Shador.
- 7:23Speaker 1: But you can't just bring Shador. It's not like he
- 7:25Speaker 1: can just put him on the flight to be like
- 7:27Speaker 1: I declare Shador a cowboy.
- 7:29Speaker 3: You're your other two sons, even the social media guy
- 7:31Speaker 3: bring him to bring him to I mean, look, McCarthy,
- 7:37Speaker 3: I think was a pretty good coach. I honestly think
- 7:40Speaker 3: that if the Cowboys, if they can just if Jerry
- 7:44Speaker 3: can just let a head coach be a head coach.
- 7:46Speaker 1: But that's you're saying if dude, he's not done that
- 7:49Speaker 1: in his entire lifetime, bating the owner.
- 7:51Speaker 8: I know.
- 7:52Speaker 3: But I think there are certain coaches, certain people, certain
- 7:54Speaker 3: personalities that could do that, and I think Dion could
- 7:58Speaker 3: be a personality like that. They can be like, hey, Jared,
- 8:01Speaker 3: come on, let me do my thing.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Does he sound like ulkkan brother, come on, here we go.
- 8:08Speaker 1: I'm just seeing it. So it was posted from when
- 8:11Speaker 1: we record this forty eight minutes ago, with Cowboys head
- 8:15Speaker 1: coach Mike McCarthy eligible to talk to other teams after
- 8:18Speaker 1: midnight Tuesdays, still haven't been indigoshens on a new deal.
- 8:21Speaker 1: And then that gets updated twelve minutes later, boom. Mike
- 8:23Speaker 1: McCarthy is not expected to return to the Dallas Cowboys.
- 8:26Speaker 1: It is now set to become a free agent. The
- 8:27Speaker 1: two sides engaged and no discussions about a new deal. See,
- 8:30Speaker 1: that's what sucks because that makes the Bears think completely.
- 8:34Speaker 1: If they had no talks about a new deal and
- 8:36Speaker 1: they kept them from interviewing with the Bears, that sucks.
- 8:39Speaker 3: It is dirty.
- 8:40Speaker 1: That's dirty dog. I'll go back to it. McCarthy is
- 8:43Speaker 1: expected to be a candidate in Chicago and New Orleans.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Chicago hasn't filled that job, so you can still go.
- 8:48Speaker 3: There we go. It's okay, We're all good.
- 8:50Speaker 1: And that's dirty dog, dude.
- 8:52Speaker 3: So that's good news for us. I think just starting
- 8:55Speaker 3: news good news for us. That'd be great.
- 8:56Speaker 5: Yeah, Okay, outside of Dion, like say a Ben Jonson or.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Because Dion wanted to go to the Raiders. But now
- 9:02Speaker 1: they're saying the Raiders don't have interest in Dion because
- 9:05Speaker 1: Tom Brady's running that. So let's say it's not the Raiders.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Let's say it's not the Cowboys, Like who who?
- 9:13Speaker 3: Who is it?
- 9:13Speaker 1: Because again Ben Johnson, but he's never been a head coach.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Jerry's gonna pus him around. He doesn't really have the
- 9:18Speaker 1: credibility to go to Like, no, this is how playing
- 9:20Speaker 1: to coach this team?
- 9:21Speaker 3: Saban, Saban, Come on, why would.
- 9:23Speaker 1: You want a college coach who failed in the NFL's
- 9:26Speaker 1: first time and is also in his seventies.
- 9:28Speaker 3: We're all about second chances.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Dude's gonna live. He's gonna live ten years, much as
- 9:32Speaker 1: how long is it gonna be able with coach?
- 9:34Speaker 3: I don't know, man, I don't know.
- 9:36Speaker 5: Carol, Well, we're on the old man.
- 9:38Speaker 1: He wants back in, Yeah, he wants back in.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Pet Carroll's pretty cool. He really the hell?
- 9:43Speaker 1: You really don't know?
- 9:44Speaker 3: No clue, dude, no clue. And even like if we
- 9:46Speaker 3: try to guess, it's gonna be someone that we didn't
- 9:48Speaker 3: even know.
- 9:48Speaker 1: How about this? Sorry?
- 9:52Speaker 3: Oh it's sark.
- 9:54Speaker 9: Not a bad move three hours up the road then
- 9:57Speaker 9: to pay for a big relocation at the mo BO
- 10:01Speaker 9: sark could be good if they can't boom breaking news
- 10:04Speaker 9: Steve Sarkesian is now the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Your feeling would be.
- 10:08Speaker 3: That'd be interesting, But I don't think. I don't think
- 10:10Speaker 3: that Jerry's gonna let entailing would be we're the same,
- 10:13Speaker 3: then we're gonna be in the same position, just another
- 10:15Speaker 3: coach rotating through.
- 10:17Speaker 1: That has been how it's been for like the last
- 10:19Speaker 1: twenty years.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Forever, dude, forever, it's the same coach coming in and
- 10:22Speaker 3: then them trying, Oh, they're gonna be the savior, and
- 10:24Speaker 3: then two years later like get rid of them. But
- 10:26Speaker 3: then why do you think this will be different if
- 10:28Speaker 3: Dion someone like a like Jimmy Johnson who can come
- 10:32Speaker 3: in and be like, I'm the coach, let me be
- 10:34Speaker 3: the coach, but he trust me, trust me, Jerry, I
- 10:37Speaker 3: got this, But.
- 10:38Speaker 1: It hasn't happened in twenty plus years, right?
- 10:40Speaker 3: But who we add Wade Phillips like who we have?
- 10:43Speaker 3: Garrett does classic Garrett.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Good turnover, good turnover. So you're saying, if it is that,
- 10:49Speaker 1: you'll be happy. But do you think it'll be someone
- 10:50Speaker 1: like that? Is my question.
- 10:51Speaker 3: I think it's gonna have to be someone like that,
- 10:54Speaker 3: so Jerry and the kids understand the situation. They're gonna
- 10:58Speaker 3: allow someone like that back in.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Good luck, thank you, Casey.
- 11:06Speaker 3: I mean, I'm a Jet fan, so it's been pretty bleak.
- 11:08Speaker 10: Man.
- 11:08Speaker 6: I don't know, no news. I mean, Rex Ryan might
- 11:11Speaker 6: be coming back. I don't really want that.
- 11:13Speaker 3: I mean, surely not right. I don't know. I mean,
- 11:15Speaker 3: he seems pretty convinced.
- 11:17Speaker 1: On convinced, and I've watched him say he hopes that
- 11:21Speaker 1: he gets to coach so we can beat Rabel a
- 11:22Speaker 1: couple of times a year. But is there really any chance?
- 11:26Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 11:27Speaker 6: I mean, I'm hoping that we could get that Aaron
- 11:28Speaker 6: Glenn guy from Detroit. I guess you know, the best
- 11:32Speaker 6: option I think that we realistically have.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Do you feel like you need someone to like Eddie saying,
- 11:37Speaker 1: because whatdy Johnson a culture guy, right, but someone that
- 11:41Speaker 1: can actually have a voice against the owner.
- 11:45Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean I was hoping that was Rabel, but
- 11:47Speaker 6: once we interviewed him, that's when Kraft fired. So you know,
- 11:51Speaker 6: the Jets helping out the Patriots.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Best case scenario for US coach.
- 11:55Speaker 6: Best case scenario, he goes, I mean, honestly, I think
- 12:00Speaker 6: it's got to be Glenn or Ben Johnson, but I
- 12:02Speaker 6: want one of the Lions guys.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Yeah, that would be my pick.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Read what's your best news for the weekend?
- 12:07Speaker 11: Oh man, mine actually pertains to TV shows. You actually
- 12:10Speaker 11: shared it, and you shared that the second season of
- 12:14Speaker 11: Severance is coming out this week, and that is like
- 12:16Speaker 11: one of my all that Yeah, one of my favorite
- 12:18Speaker 11: shows I've ever watched. And I had no idea that
- 12:20Speaker 11: there was even going to be a second season until
- 12:22Speaker 11: I saw your story.
- 12:23Speaker 1: You didn't even know the season.
- 12:25Speaker 3: You broke the news.
- 12:26Speaker 5: You broke the news, and I got them.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Mine is just stopping the freezer that I lived in
- 12:34Speaker 1: for betting because I was I figured.
- 12:35Speaker 3: It would be the Texas loss. No, that wasn't the
- 12:37Speaker 3: best thing.
- 12:38Speaker 1: No, it's not. And here's why I don't like Ohio
- 12:41Speaker 1: Sted either. I'm glad Texas lost. Eventually. I think the
- 12:44Speaker 1: best case scenario for me would have been.
- 12:49Speaker 3: They both.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Well, I think Ohio State's just gonna run Notre Dame.
- 12:57Speaker 1: I don't think Texas would have run Notre Dame. Texas
- 13:00Speaker 1: would have like lucked out, not even luked out. They
- 13:03Speaker 1: played pretty good, you know, they were They had a
- 13:06Speaker 1: chance cloud were they first and one, first and goal
- 13:09Speaker 1: from the one it. Yes, had Texas been able to
- 13:14Speaker 1: win that game, I think Notre Dame would have probably
- 13:16Speaker 1: beat them. I don't think Notre Dame could be to
- 13:19Speaker 1: Ohio State. I don't like Ohio State winning it. Yeah,
- 13:21Speaker 1: so not the best. I'm happy they thank god they lost.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Mostly it's like a relief more than it is a
- 13:25Speaker 1: happy defense Mike.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Yeah, that was bad.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:29Speaker 11: I told myself like, as long as we were competitive,
- 13:31Speaker 11: I wouldn't go to be sad.
- 13:32Speaker 3: But I was still sad. Like one yard away and you.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Got to the same spot both years, right, Yeah, isn't
- 13:36Speaker 1: this it one final four?
- 13:38Speaker 5: What about the screen Mike at the end of the
- 13:40Speaker 5: first half, seventy five yards that's stupid. Yeah, that is
- 13:43Speaker 5: so frustrating.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Well, it was like the worst case money on it defensive.
- 13:48Speaker 5: Three and a half Texas that you might have screen
- 13:51Speaker 5: in the first half, the.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Worst worst ever defensive call. Oh you had a halftime
- 13:55Speaker 1: bet and and the perfect offensive call because they blitzed
- 14:00Speaker 1: and they threw the screen. One guy missed and he
- 14:03Speaker 1: was gone gone, So we can second guess that forever.
- 14:07Speaker 1: But it was the worst meets the best worst thing
- 14:11Speaker 1: they could have done at that point with them running
- 14:13Speaker 1: the screen was blitz those guys. So that's a bad one.
- 14:15Speaker 3: You see. They benched the kicker too.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Auburn doesn't kick anymore.
- 14:19Speaker 3: I know that hurt.
- 14:20Speaker 7: Dude.
- 14:21Speaker 1: After Stark was all like, you're my favorite.
- 14:23Speaker 8: I love you.
- 14:24Speaker 1: I leve wwya my love w w. Then he moves on.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Oh and they kept showing him on the sideline with hair.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Classic Cowboys coach, you know what I mean? Yeah? No,
- 14:35Speaker 1: mine is again. I think I hit five in a row.
- 14:40Speaker 1: I didn't bet the late game last night becase I
- 14:41Speaker 1: don't think i'd make it to the end, and I did.
- 14:43Speaker 3: Did you make it?
- 14:44Speaker 1: And I saw the joint this morning?
- 14:45Speaker 3: It wasn't that late.
- 14:47Speaker 1: I was tired, dude, Okay, I was really tired. What
- 14:49Speaker 1: time did the game end?
- 14:50Speaker 5: Yeah it was like ten thirty.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Oh yeah that's late.
- 14:52Speaker 3: But he's talking the late news, nightly news, the news news.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Yeah I you missed the doink. Yeah, I just And
- 15:03Speaker 1: also I didn't even care about that game. I didn't
- 15:05Speaker 1: care play off football. You guys going to sleep early.
- 15:08Speaker 1: If I were going to rank the games I cared
- 15:11Speaker 1: least about. That was probably the one I cared least about.
- 15:13Speaker 1: It was the closest game out of all of them,
- 15:17Speaker 1: because again, yeah, they all sucked, yeah pretty much. Yeah, No,
- 15:20Speaker 1: I didn't. I didn't care that much. So and we
- 15:23Speaker 1: can roll through that in a second. But the first
- 15:27Speaker 1: round of the NFL playoffs much like the first round
- 15:30Speaker 1: of the college football playoffs. M yeah, it was wild
- 15:33Speaker 1: card the dud. Yeah, but it was it was good
- 15:36Speaker 1: because I made little money. We liked that, man, man,
- 15:38Speaker 1: we love that. As we look at the parlay we
- 15:41Speaker 1: went too and two of four and if you've even
- 15:43Speaker 1: missed one, you get none.
- 15:45Speaker 3: That's a parlay. Yeah, it works.
- 15:47Speaker 1: So that's it. So we didn't we didn't hit that
- 15:49Speaker 1: to all everybody who bet that, I'm sorry.
- 15:51Speaker 3: I think we missed the first game.
- 15:53Speaker 5: Yep, we did.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Yeah, oh the Steelers. Yeah, but that was a late
- 15:57Speaker 1: Saturday game, so we didn't feel like losers until late Saturday.
- 16:00Speaker 1: So all like Saturday, before it even hit, we're like, yeah,
- 16:02Speaker 1: we even lost.
- 16:03Speaker 3: Yeah, because we did that on the Texas game, the Texans.
- 16:06Speaker 1: You should do pick six. So pick six is awesome.
- 16:07Speaker 1: You can even do pick six in places where maybe
- 16:09Speaker 1: you can't do it, like DraftKings but pick six and
- 16:12Speaker 1: you can do it with the game tonight. You choose
- 16:15Speaker 1: more or less if they have a stat like, for example,
- 16:18Speaker 1: Vikings at Rams, Sam Donald more or less than two
- 16:21Speaker 1: sixty five passing, Laddie More, Justin Slingt, Justin Jefferson more
- 16:27Speaker 1: or less than eighty nine yards.
- 16:28Speaker 3: Receiving way more, who gonna go it.
- 16:31Speaker 1: More or less than ninety one receiving yards? You want
- 16:33Speaker 1: all more more and Matt Stafford more or less than
- 16:37Speaker 1: two forty one passing. That's that's even less than Sam Donald's.
- 16:42Speaker 3: Let's go more.
- 16:43Speaker 1: You're going four more more.
- 16:44Speaker 3: Give me a little more.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Dang. Download the new Draft Kings Pick six app and
- 16:48Speaker 1: use the code Bobby Sports. It is a whole different app.

- 17:17Speaker 1: I want to play this for you guys. It's phrases
- 17:21Speaker 1: from the nineties. This was a video they put out
- 17:23Speaker 1: like but it was a VHS and it made like
- 17:26Speaker 1: a news show. And this guy's giving phrases from the nineties,
- 17:30Speaker 1: so parents could know what their kids were saying. Oh wow,
- 17:33Speaker 1: this is crazy, dude, it's hilarious. Here we go.
- 17:37Speaker 3: You want to be sure.
- 17:37Speaker 4: To sound hip in the nineties. Yo, a greeting, Yo, curve.
- 17:43Speaker 3: What's up?
- 17:44Speaker 4: Clutch the Pearls said, in amazement or disbelief, Well.
- 17:48Speaker 10: You know he's married.
- 17:50Speaker 5: Clutch the Pearls.
- 17:53Speaker 3: In the eighties, it was just placed it.
- 17:55Speaker 5: I don't know how many I had, but boy did
- 17:57Speaker 5: I get fucked.
- 17:58Speaker 1: I just felt that we're saying bucked.
- 18:03Speaker 7: But sure.
- 18:04Speaker 3: I hope you didn't drive home no way.
- 18:07Speaker 4: Mcgiver is in the TV show where the impossible is
- 18:10Speaker 4: often accomplished.
- 18:12Speaker 5: I can't believe you got off that speeding ticket.
- 18:14Speaker 1: What a mcguiver.
- 18:19Speaker 3: That's funny.
- 18:20Speaker 1: I never used Clutched the Pearls when someone clutches their pearls.
- 18:24Speaker 1: I don't use that in this thing.
- 18:25Speaker 3: I still going.
- 18:28Speaker 4: You really the novel black and Decker or a real
- 18:32Speaker 4: tough assignment. You get the analogy, right, This.
- 18:35Speaker 5: Job is a real grind, just a black and Decker.
- 18:39Speaker 4: Some phrases may be around forever.
- 18:41Speaker 5: Well, look I gotta run by time.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Clutch the pearls. If someone's clutching the pearls and now
- 18:49Speaker 1: it's like they're faking like they're offended and they're not,
- 18:52Speaker 1: you never say it.
- 18:53Speaker 5: I have never heard that one.
- 18:55Speaker 1: What pearls? Well, so you don't even say it now.
- 18:58Speaker 1: It's just like if you're like, all right, stop clutching
- 18:59Speaker 1: your pearls. That's like, stop acting like you're offended, whene're not.
- 19:02Speaker 3: Have you ever said that?
- 19:03Speaker 1: No, The only one of those I've ever said were
- 19:07Speaker 1: Black and Decker.
- 19:11Speaker 3: I used to you did ye wow, mcguiver, how'd you
- 19:14Speaker 3: do that? Did you get here so quick?
- 19:16Speaker 5: I said that one time to my dad and he's.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Like, you know that, he's so proud. I'd be like, yo,
- 19:21Speaker 1: of course the greedy that was about it? Eddie may
- 19:25Speaker 1: have gone a little too hard at basketball practice. Yeah,
- 19:27Speaker 1: are you coaching?
- 19:28Speaker 3: No, I'm not coaching, but I go to I take
- 19:30Speaker 3: my son to practice, and then the two coaches usually
- 19:34Speaker 3: get dads from the you know that are sitting on
- 19:35Speaker 3: the side and will you help just kind of like
- 19:37Speaker 3: stand in or help us kind of with passing, and
- 19:40Speaker 3: we were doing charging. The coach was taught teaching the
- 19:43Speaker 3: kids how to take a charge, and so they're like, Eddie,
- 19:46Speaker 3: coach Eddie, why don't you get the ball and just
- 19:48Speaker 3: like act like you're driving the lane and charge, and.
- 19:50Speaker 1: So I did, Oh no, dude, I.
- 19:53Speaker 3: Don't have asked anything. Man, I got that ball and
- 19:55Speaker 3: I went drove the lane and when the first kid,
- 19:58Speaker 3: he didn't really do it right, start walking backwards, so
- 20:01Speaker 3: then he tripped backwards. I fell on top of him.
- 20:04Speaker 3: I made two kids cry the whole the whole practice.
- 20:06Speaker 3: It was terrible.
- 20:07Speaker 1: It was terror videos parents versus kids, and their kids
- 20:10Speaker 1: are like six and they're in football football. The moms, dude,
- 20:13Speaker 1: that's hilarious. That's kind of what I feel like. That is.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Yeah, and some of the other dads are like, Okay,
- 20:18Speaker 3: coach Addie, don't go so hard this a little bit
- 20:21Speaker 3: with the break. But I feel like if I didn't
- 20:23Speaker 3: go hard, they would never learn how to do it,
- 20:25Speaker 3: you know what I mean.
- 20:27Speaker 1: That's not true. They don't need an adult man to
- 20:30Speaker 1: run into them.
- 20:31Speaker 3: No, Like, what's gonna happen comes Saturday when a kid
- 20:34Speaker 3: comes charging down the lane.
- 20:36Speaker 1: That's when they learn. That's when you learn, not when
- 20:38Speaker 1: I'm through experience of Okay, maybe I should have lightened
- 20:42Speaker 1: up a little bit. Your peers going to give them PTSD.
- 20:45Speaker 1: But you didn't do that with your kids, though, You
- 20:47Speaker 1: just hurt other kids.
- 20:47Speaker 3: I do with my kids too.
- 20:48Speaker 1: No, no, But I'm saying it's the practice.
- 20:50Speaker 3: No, No, Well, my kid knows that I take a charge.
- 20:52Speaker 3: We've already practiced that on our own.
- 20:54Speaker 1: You'd make him cry home exactly, just when no one
- 20:57Speaker 1: else is around. Read you're not you know, I'm assuming
- 21:00Speaker 1: you didn't watch a lot of sports this weekend that
- 21:02Speaker 1: you don't normally negative. What did you do?
- 21:05Speaker 11: Let's see this weekend, I cleaned my house. Uh, and
- 21:08Speaker 11: I actually recorded a pilot slash first episode of my podcast.
- 21:14Speaker 8: Oh that was fun.
- 21:16Speaker 3: Wait, I've been a guest on your podcast.
- 21:18Speaker 8: Yeah, you have your guest.
- 21:19Speaker 3: But that's the pilot.
- 21:21Speaker 1: No, dude, you made the pilot that will never be aired.
- 21:24Speaker 3: That's what I'm hearing about.
- 21:25Speaker 8: That's what I'm doing.
- 21:28Speaker 1: That's never going to be hurt and you gave your
- 21:31Speaker 1: time up for it.
- 21:31Speaker 3: Hey, that's a dirty dog.
- 21:35Speaker 1: He was a caller. That's One of our favorite regular
- 21:39Speaker 1: guests on the show is Brandon Marcelo from twenty four
- 21:41Speaker 1: to seven Sports. Brandon is as dialed in as anyone
- 21:44Speaker 1: when it comes to reporting and having insight and follow
- 21:46Speaker 1: him at b Marcelo. He has a new podcast out
- 21:49Speaker 1: and he talks about that at the end. So let's
- 21:51Speaker 1: talk college football with Brandon Marcelo. Brandon looks like he's
- 21:54Speaker 1: going somewhere special today, maybe a job interview. He's got
- 21:57Speaker 1: a caller under a sweater. What what's the occasion.
- 22:01Speaker 4: Football Coaches Association Annual convention meetings. There's like nine thousand
- 22:06Speaker 4: coaches here and yeah, there's a lot of glad it's
- 22:11Speaker 4: in Charlotte. It's it's the one. It's I think it's
- 22:14Speaker 4: that's what set the Guinness World Records for loudest DAPs
- 22:17Speaker 4: because it's just a large convention hall and there's thousands
- 22:20Speaker 4: of coaches just every and everybody DAPs. That's that's all
- 22:23Speaker 4: they do that No one shakes hands everybody's dapping, so
- 22:26Speaker 4: it's very loud in there, and it's just constant clapping.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Who's like the big dog, who's the star that everyone's
- 22:33Speaker 1: like just looking to get a picture with or say
- 22:34Speaker 1: hello to great question.
- 22:37Speaker 4: I would probably say, you know, the problem is that
- 22:42Speaker 4: the playoff is still going on. So like the coaches
- 22:46Speaker 4: that are winning games, I wouldn't maybe say Kenny Dillingham
- 22:51Speaker 4: at Arizona State because he's the young buck and he
- 22:55Speaker 4: just went to the playoff and he's here. A lot
- 22:58Speaker 4: of coaches and head coaches they don't swing into like
- 23:00Speaker 4: the last day, but Kenny dillinghams someone who's very popular
- 23:03Speaker 4: at things like this.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Well, let's take a look at these past couple of games.
- 23:08Speaker 1: It almost feels like, you know the song now I
- 23:11Speaker 1: can't even sing in one. I don't know. It's where
- 23:14Speaker 1: it's like, no, it's time to say goodbye. Not m
- 23:18Speaker 1: I C kymo usc, but like Sinatra song where it's
- 23:22Speaker 1: like I did it my way, Yeah it's over. It's
- 23:24Speaker 1: like I said good bye, like the season is almost over.
- 23:27Speaker 1: We got one game left, so we're getting to that
- 23:29Speaker 1: point here. We got Notre Dame. Let's go there first.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Do you think the reason they're not hated as much
- 23:33Speaker 1: right now two reasons. One because they're playing Ohio State
- 23:36Speaker 1: and Ohio States hated and two because Marcus Freeman's like
- 23:38Speaker 1: a really likable guy.
- 23:40Speaker 4: That and I also think because Notre Dame was humbled
- 23:43Speaker 4: earlier in the year by losing the Northern Illinois, and
- 23:46Speaker 4: I think all of us wrote them off and for
- 23:49Speaker 4: so often. You know, Notre Dame has always been the
- 23:51Speaker 4: quote unquote overrated team, which is actually, if you look
- 23:54Speaker 4: through it, the numbers is not actually statistically correct because
- 23:58Speaker 4: they've when they start in the top ten in the preseason,
- 24:00Speaker 4: they usually finish there or near there, so they're not
- 24:03Speaker 4: really overrated. But I think what happened is everybody goes
- 24:06Speaker 4: into preseason hating Notre Dame because of that, they think
- 24:09Speaker 4: they're overrated, and then in week two they lose the
- 24:11Speaker 4: Norman Illinois and we're all like, hahha, told, yeah, Notre
- 24:15Speaker 4: Dame sucks. And then what do they do behind the
- 24:18Speaker 4: background and behind the scenes, They just keep winning. They
- 24:21Speaker 4: bounce back from that, they handle it the right way.
- 24:24Speaker 4: They're underdogs here in the playoff in a lot of games,
- 24:28Speaker 4: and they just keep winning. Plus, as you said, Marcus
- 24:30Speaker 4: Freeman is a nice guy. He's just a very agreeable guy,
- 24:35Speaker 4: someone that you just get along with. It comes along
- 24:37Speaker 4: pretty well on screen, and all of a sudden, Notre
- 24:42Speaker 4: Dames become this just like underdog story. There they finally
- 24:46Speaker 4: are living up to like the Rooty legacy, so to speak.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Do you think there is any chance now if Ohio
- 24:52Speaker 1: State loses that Ryan Day won't come back next year?
- 24:56Speaker 4: Oh, great question, Anything's possible. I think the one thing
- 25:01Speaker 4: that really sticks with me with Ryan Day is just
- 25:04Speaker 4: the stories that have come out about his family just
- 25:08Speaker 4: really just not liking all the pressure of that job.
- 25:11Speaker 4: I mean, you've heard the stories and I've seen them too.
- 25:15Speaker 4: At the game against Michigan, them crying on the sideline,
- 25:19Speaker 4: just the pressures of mints there even when you win,
- 25:21Speaker 4: let alone when you lose. And you know there's NFL
- 25:25Speaker 4: opportunities out there. You haven't heard Ryan Day's name really
- 25:29Speaker 4: come up tied directly with anything. But I'm sure that
- 25:32Speaker 4: if he showed interest in an NFL job, one that's
- 25:35Speaker 4: open now or might be open later, they would give
- 25:38Speaker 4: him a sniff. I just don't know if he'd be
- 25:40Speaker 4: I don't know if he's trying to do that himself.
- 25:44Speaker 4: But I think that's the only way he leaves at
- 25:48Speaker 4: this point is that the right NFL job comes open
- 25:50Speaker 4: and he shows some interest.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Well, then can I offer an extremely hot take question
- 25:55Speaker 1: if he wins, could he leave because he's like this
- 25:57Speaker 1: is miserable?
- 25:58Speaker 4: Maybe yeah? Uh, why not? Again? I think it again?
- 26:03Speaker 4: Just seems to be the pressure's immense, and it I
- 26:07Speaker 4: think it. I mean, listen, he could stand up there
- 26:10Speaker 4: and say this is what I sign up to do,
- 26:12Speaker 4: and you know how we you know, not to get
- 26:14Speaker 4: too psychological on you, but you know, when you watch
- 26:17Speaker 4: these press conferences, and I've been doing this for years, Bobby,
- 26:20Speaker 4: it's just you start to realize that coaches and people
- 26:24Speaker 4: in everyday life, they're projecting. You know, whenever someone says
- 26:28Speaker 4: is criticizing you, it's usually a reflection of that own person.
- 26:32Speaker 4: And so when I hear Ryan Day at practically every
- 26:35Speaker 4: press conference saying, hey, this is what I signed up for,
- 26:38Speaker 4: this is this is why they pay me the big bus,
- 26:41Speaker 4: it just it sounds like a guy that's trying to
- 26:44Speaker 4: deal with this even internally himself, like how do I
- 26:47Speaker 4: handle this? This is just this is just terrible All
- 26:51Speaker 4: the hate I get and the pressure I feel, and
- 26:54Speaker 4: my family's under the gun all the time. And as
- 26:56Speaker 4: I said, his family really affected by I've seen them
- 26:59Speaker 4: crying on the sideline. If you win a national championship,
- 27:04Speaker 4: it's not going to get any better than that. It's
- 27:06Speaker 4: impossible to get better than that. So why not just
- 27:09Speaker 4: let that be your legacy in Ohio State? Why not
- 27:11Speaker 4: just walk away? So yeah, Bobby, I could I could
- 27:14Speaker 4: see that happening. He wins a national championship. I could
- 27:17Speaker 4: see Ryan Day walking away and going to the NFL
- 27:20Speaker 4: at the right opportunity presents itself.
- 27:22Speaker 8: What would he like?
- 27:23Speaker 1: What is Ryan Ryan Day's Obviously he gave Chip Kelly
- 27:26Speaker 1: the play calling duties, but like, where did he cut
- 27:29Speaker 1: his teeth? Because again, mostly what I know of Ryan
- 27:31Speaker 1: Day is the Ohio State guy who is next up,
- 27:34Speaker 1: who could never, who can't beat Michigan, Like what it's
- 27:37Speaker 1: been so overwhelmed. His story has been that that I
- 27:41Speaker 1: think most people don't know his origin story.
- 27:45Speaker 4: Well, I think that his origin story in a lot
- 27:48Speaker 4: of ways is that he was just he was an
- 27:49Speaker 4: incredible assistant coach. Obviously someone that was kind of in
- 27:53Speaker 4: line under Urban Meyer previously to keep that going. He
- 27:56Speaker 4: understood the culture, He understood how to build that thing
- 27:59Speaker 4: out from what it was even under urban Meyer, because
- 28:02Speaker 4: as we know, urban Meyer went there. Urban Meyer really
- 28:06Speaker 4: changed college football twice. And by that I mean he
- 28:10Speaker 4: went to Florida and the SEC was strong, but he
- 28:13Speaker 4: made it much different. He made it this situation where
- 28:17Speaker 4: the SEC other schools had to start raising their level.
- 28:20Speaker 4: And I'm talking about like Alabama going on its run
- 28:24Speaker 4: of course in the twenty teens. That's because of urban Meyer.
- 28:28Speaker 4: He raised the level in the SEC. Then he goes
- 28:31Speaker 4: to the Big Ten and he raised the level there.
- 28:34Speaker 4: I'm not so sure Michigan would have won a national
- 28:36Speaker 4: title this past year if it was not for urban
- 28:39Speaker 4: Meyer pushing Ohio State over the hunt, because they were
- 28:43Speaker 4: always there in the national conversation under Jim Trussell, and
- 28:46Speaker 4: then urban Meyer took it to a different level. And
- 28:48Speaker 4: so Ohio State wanted to keep that going, so they
- 28:51Speaker 4: just they bumped up Ryan Day to keep that going
- 28:54Speaker 4: because he understood how that got that all going. And
- 28:56Speaker 4: he's been more or less about as good as Jim Trussell,
- 29:01Speaker 4: the guy before urban Meyer, and Jim Trussell's a Hall
- 29:04Speaker 4: of Fame type coach, don't get me wrong, but it's
- 29:07Speaker 4: not someone who was contending and winning a national title
- 29:11Speaker 4: every three years or so, despite he had that run
- 29:13Speaker 4: there in the early two thousands. And that's that's gonna
- 29:17Speaker 4: be the stigma ons any coach at Ohio State, Like
- 29:19Speaker 4: if you don't win a national title like in your
- 29:22Speaker 4: first like four years on the job, you're just dog
- 29:26Speaker 4: crap to a lot of people. And that's that's that's
- 29:30Speaker 4: an issue. And it's we've seen it at Florida. The
- 29:33Speaker 4: guys who replaced urban Meyer there, like they get pushed
- 29:37Speaker 4: out quickly. And then so you not just go to
- 29:40Speaker 4: Ohio State where they want to win national titles and
- 29:42Speaker 4: they have Hall of Fame type coaches, but you get
- 29:44Speaker 4: urban Meyer to inject like this absolute nitrous oxide into
- 29:49Speaker 4: the system of we gotta win, gotta win, win the
- 29:51Speaker 4: national championship now, and then Ryan Day steps in as
- 29:53Speaker 4: the disciple and he's not doing it. And also he's
- 29:58Speaker 4: losing an arrival Michigan every year. You can imagine the
- 30:02Speaker 4: pressure that goes with that. And I think Ryan Day
- 30:04Speaker 4: gets an unfair shape. I think he's an incredible coach.
- 30:08Speaker 4: It's just that he gets a bad rap for that,
- 30:11Speaker 4: and every little movement of his is ridiculed. And Bobby,
- 30:14Speaker 4: I mean you saw a few weeks ago at the
- 30:17Speaker 4: game against Michigan. I followed him around, you know, filming
- 30:21Speaker 4: him just to kind of get his reaction out to
- 30:22Speaker 4: the loss, and of course that fight breaks out and
- 30:25Speaker 4: Ryan Day kind of froze up and just stood there
- 30:27Speaker 4: and watched it, and you could read in the body
- 30:30Speaker 4: language and all that stuff. But the fans just absolutely
- 30:33Speaker 4: jumped him for that, like why why are you not
- 30:35Speaker 4: a man of action? Why aren't you getting involved? Why
- 30:37Speaker 4: are you pulling your players back telling him to go
- 30:39Speaker 4: back to the locker and get away from that. Instead
- 30:40Speaker 4: you're just standing there being completely impotent. And again, every
- 30:46Speaker 4: move of this guy is ridiculed. And so it goes
- 30:49Speaker 4: back to your previous question, like, even if he wins
- 30:52Speaker 4: a national title, like what else can you do there?
- 30:55Speaker 4: If a job came open and it's going to be
- 30:57Speaker 4: less pressure, why why didn't you take it?
- 31:00Speaker 1: I remember he said what happened? He had to read
- 31:03Speaker 1: his lips when that fight was happening. He was like,
- 31:04Speaker 1: what happened? And yeah, I felt like again he was
- 31:09Speaker 1: even unfairly criticized he really was wondering what happened, but
- 31:12Speaker 1: I are you. Let's go to that game first, Ohio
- 31:15Speaker 1: State in Texas. How do you feel Texas played As
- 31:19Speaker 1: far as what the expectation was of Texas when they
- 31:22Speaker 1: played Ohio State.
- 31:25Speaker 4: I said going into that game that would not be
- 31:27Speaker 4: surprised that Texas takes an early lead. Well, that obviously
- 31:29Speaker 4: didn't happen. Ohio State was about to jump on him,
- 31:32Speaker 4: and then Trevon Henderson had that personal foul penalty where
- 31:35Speaker 4: he shoved a guy in the face Ohio State's running back,
- 31:39Speaker 4: and it stopped Ohio State from going up big early
- 31:43Speaker 4: and allowed sexist hanging around. Texas had the horses defensively
- 31:48Speaker 4: to slow down Ohio State. I think a lot of
- 31:50Speaker 4: us knew that going into that game. I just didn't
- 31:53Speaker 4: expect that offensively, somehow they would have a chance late
- 31:57Speaker 4: to win the game or even tie it as we saw.
- 32:00Speaker 4: But then the Quinn years that I've grown a custom
- 32:03Speaker 4: of scenings popped up again. They're about to score late
- 32:07Speaker 4: in the game to tie it, and he gets stripsacked
- 32:11Speaker 4: and they scoop and score and return it for a
- 32:13Speaker 4: touchdown and go up twenty eight, fourteen and the game's over.
- 32:16Speaker 4: It's just Quinn Years always seems in these big moments
- 32:19Speaker 4: to always have a bad turnover some situation. And you know,
- 32:23Speaker 4: I'm not sold on Quinn Years as a future NFL guy.
- 32:27Speaker 4: I know he's high on draft boards and everything, but man,
- 32:30Speaker 4: when the pressure gets to him, and by pressure, I
- 32:34Speaker 4: mean like defensive lineman, he just doesn't know how to
- 32:38Speaker 4: act back there. And his past success rate is just
- 32:42Speaker 4: incredibly bad and you can't have that. I mean, we're
- 32:45Speaker 4: seeing in the NFL playoffs now rookies that have done
- 32:48Speaker 4: very well, or first or second year guys, Jayden Daniels,
- 32:51Speaker 4: Michael Pennix with the Washington Commanders. You know, Kennis is
- 32:56Speaker 4: a guy that I saw last season at Washington and
- 32:59Speaker 4: Washington and beat Texas in the College Football Playoff and
- 33:04Speaker 4: it was because of Pinnicks has just been calm and
- 33:07Speaker 4: collected and Texas had an incredible pass rush, but Penis
- 33:10Speaker 4: was the guy that got them over the hump. And
- 33:13Speaker 4: that translates, it translates to the NFL. He's now in
- 33:16Speaker 4: the NFL winning. I think the Commanders first. I mean,
- 33:21Speaker 4: it's just incredible, like all this stuff that you see
- 33:24Speaker 4: with Michael Pennocks and then obviously Jayden Daniels as well.
- 33:27Speaker 4: You know, Jayden is a special player, Heisman Trophy winner.
- 33:32Speaker 4: But you see these guys that were uber successful in
- 33:37Speaker 4: college football, and it's translating to the NFL almost right
- 33:41Speaker 4: away when they're given their chance. When years when he
- 33:44Speaker 4: gets the NFL, I don't think you're going to see that.
- 33:47Speaker 4: I think you're going to see a guy that's gonna
- 33:49Speaker 4: maybe bounce around from team to team trying to find
- 33:51Speaker 4: a spot as a backup.
- 33:53Speaker 1: I think c J. Stroud's another example of that, although
- 33:55Speaker 1: it's not a rooie this year. Last year, he had
- 33:56Speaker 1: a great rookie year coming out. So do you see
- 33:59Speaker 1: any parallel? And I remember back in the day Major
- 34:03Speaker 1: Apple White started a quarterback in Texas and it was like,
- 34:05Speaker 1: we gotta get Chris sims In. We got to get
- 34:07Speaker 1: Chris sims In, big controversy, you got yours, you got
- 34:10Speaker 1: Arch Manning. Well, all of a sudden, when Chris simms in,
- 34:12Speaker 1: they're like, dang, we kind of miss out of White,
- 34:14Speaker 1: Like wait, you know, maybe we jumped the gun. We
- 34:16Speaker 1: kind of miss Major Rap White a little bit. Any
- 34:18Speaker 1: parallel in your mind there at all.
- 34:20Speaker 4: Good question. I don't think so, because I do think
- 34:23Speaker 4: arch Manning is legit. Like I mean, there'll be people
- 34:27Speaker 4: like rumbling like in this first second start potentially next
- 34:30Speaker 4: season if he throws an interception like, oh, Quin yours
- 34:32Speaker 4: wouldn't have done that. But I think more often than not,
- 34:35Speaker 4: he's going to he's going to be able to make
- 34:38Speaker 4: big plays because he's much different from Gwin Years from
- 34:41Speaker 4: the standpoint that he can run the ball. We've seen
- 34:43Speaker 4: that this year. They brought him into special packages just
- 34:46Speaker 4: to run the ball and pick up first downs on
- 34:47Speaker 4: third down or even fourth down even and he's been
- 34:50Speaker 4: very successful in doing that, you know. And I don't
- 34:54Speaker 4: think that having the Manning name bothers him or is
- 34:58Speaker 4: going to get into his own brain. And I think
- 35:01Speaker 4: he's going to live up to the hype. And to
- 35:03Speaker 4: be quite honest with you, man, I mean, I know,
- 35:06Speaker 4: like people thought Quinn Years was great and then they
- 35:09Speaker 4: would ridicule from time to time. But man, I'll tell
- 35:12Speaker 4: you what I think the Texas fans were very patient
- 35:16Speaker 4: with Quinn Years. I thought this season there were several
- 35:19Speaker 4: times where they could have really called for arch Manning
- 35:21Speaker 4: to go in there. But maybe what calmed that down?
- 35:24Speaker 4: You know what, it's incredible. I actually still got to
- 35:26Speaker 4: think of it because remember Quinn Eers got injured and
- 35:30Speaker 4: arch Manning had to go in and start, you know,
- 35:32Speaker 4: a game or two. And you would think after seeing that,
- 35:34Speaker 4: they would be like, no, just keep quin Years on
- 35:36Speaker 4: the bench, let's keep going arch Manning. But I think
- 35:38Speaker 4: a lot of people just saw we're winning. We're still winning.
- 35:41Speaker 4: This is Quinn Years last year. Let's just ride this
- 35:44Speaker 4: out let arch Manning continue to develop in the backup
- 35:47Speaker 4: role and coming on the field every now and again,
- 35:48Speaker 4: give us a taste of it. But I think it's
- 35:51Speaker 4: probably the best thing for all parties at this point
- 35:53Speaker 4: because arch Manning didn't get that pressure to be a
- 35:55Speaker 4: starter right away. He's had an opportunity to develop over
- 35:59Speaker 4: these last couple of years, and I think he's ready
- 36:01Speaker 4: to go. Man. I think next season he's going to
- 36:04Speaker 4: be a superstar for Texas.
- 36:06Speaker 1: So if it were three years ago or three years
- 36:09Speaker 1: from now, I would think quin yours best move would
- 36:12Speaker 1: be going to the draft, maybe getting a second or
- 36:15Speaker 1: third round draft. But because the money is so heavy
- 36:19Speaker 1: right now in the portal and it's not going to
- 36:20Speaker 1: be like this for long. This is I would compare
- 36:23Speaker 1: this to the time when the NFL decided, hey, rookies
- 36:25Speaker 1: can't make a hundred million dollars, And I think Sam
- 36:27Speaker 1: Bradford is one of the last rookies to be able
- 36:29Speaker 1: to get that top pick and make money forever. Now
- 36:32Speaker 1: they got a you know, four plus one, you get
- 36:35Speaker 1: rookie scale. Contracts are only so much. But right now,
- 36:38Speaker 1: look at you know, look at Miami, and you know
- 36:42Speaker 1: they just took the Georgia quarterback and they're paying him
- 36:45Speaker 1: roughly four million. If I were yours, I would probably
- 36:49Speaker 1: go and make more money one more year somewhere else
- 36:51Speaker 1: that three four five million bucks, even if I could
- 36:54Speaker 1: be a second or third round pick in the draft.
- 36:56Speaker 4: And those rumors have been out there about him maybe
- 36:59Speaker 4: try and get into the transfer portal. We haven't actually
- 37:01Speaker 4: heard anything from his camp on along those lines, but
- 37:03Speaker 4: there's been discussions in the background among other schools about
- 37:06Speaker 4: potentially trying to lure him. And I think there's definitely
- 37:09Speaker 4: a point to be made there. Any quarterback or for
- 37:12Speaker 4: that matter, even receiver or something like that, a guy
- 37:14Speaker 4: that you see that's not going to be a Day
- 37:16Speaker 4: one pick, or maybe he's a borderline Day two to
- 37:19Speaker 4: Day three pick in the NFL draft, Like, why wouldn't
- 37:22Speaker 4: you come back for another year in college football? Because, Bob,
- 37:24Speaker 4: you hit right on the head. Like the money. Not
- 37:27Speaker 4: to say it's going to draw up, but the money
- 37:28Speaker 4: distribution model is going to change after this upcoming season.
- 37:32Speaker 4: You know, revenue sharing is starting in college sports in July,
- 37:36Speaker 4: but we've got kind of stop gap between January and
- 37:39Speaker 4: July where schools are able to just freely spend really
- 37:42Speaker 4: whatever they want in il and to keep players on campus.
- 37:46Speaker 4: They're saying, hey, they're going to get revenue distribution here
- 37:50Speaker 4: in July, but until then, here's a nice little you know,
- 37:53Speaker 4: million dollars, two million dollars. And for the high profile
- 37:56Speaker 4: guys like you mentioned Parson Beck going to Miami. You know,
- 37:59Speaker 4: it's three four or five six dollars and listen, cars,
- 38:04Speaker 4: that's that's incredible money for Carson back one because he
- 38:06Speaker 4: probably wasn't to be selected highly in the NFL drafts
- 38:09Speaker 4: as far as K one, but also he just had surgery.
- 38:12Speaker 4: He just had surgery on his elbows, throwing elbow, and
- 38:16Speaker 4: he's going to be out at least until July or August,
- 38:19Speaker 4: not able to really throw a participate in practices. So
- 38:22Speaker 4: he's gonna get paid by Miami all the way up
- 38:26Speaker 4: until that point. The revenue sharing model goes into effects
- 38:29Speaker 4: starting in July, and so you get to go down
- 38:32Speaker 4: there and get paid handsomely to recover and get your
- 38:36Speaker 4: body right and then maybe try you know, not maybe,
- 38:38Speaker 4: but he's gonna try and play this season NFL. If
- 38:41Speaker 4: you're trying to get all that done and you can't throw,
- 38:43Speaker 4: for the combine any personal workouts, pro days and all that,
- 38:47Speaker 4: your draft stocks just going to continue to fall. So
- 38:50Speaker 4: this was a different type of situation to say twin years,
- 38:53Speaker 4: but this just made absolute perfect sense for Carson Beck.
- 38:56Speaker 4: But I could see a scenario with Quinn yours is
- 38:58Speaker 4: sitting there. You know that line's coming up obviously here,
- 39:02Speaker 4: but that he could maybe do it. But that chatter
- 39:07Speaker 4: was really heating up going into that playoff game about
- 39:10Speaker 4: a week ago, and it's kind of cool since then.
- 39:12Speaker 4: So it certainly looks like at this point he's probably
- 39:15Speaker 4: gonna go to the NFL draft.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Well, we saw Cam Moore two get a third fourth,
- 39:18Speaker 1: fifth round grade last year and go to Miami, and
- 39:21Speaker 1: now he's going to be the number one or two
- 39:23Speaker 1: overall pick. So I also think that there's an example
- 39:27Speaker 1: of it actually working while also making a lot of money,
- 39:29Speaker 1: more money than you're going to make in your first
- 39:31Speaker 1: couple of few years in the NFL. I'll have two
- 39:33Speaker 1: final questions. One James Franklin, you know he lost another one,
- 39:37Speaker 1: can't you know, I'll say what everybody says, can't win
- 39:40Speaker 1: the big game. What do you say and.
- 39:42Speaker 4: Win the big game? Yeah? I mean, he's what one
- 39:45Speaker 4: in eighteen against the ap tops five in his career,
- 39:48Speaker 4: including his days back at Vanderbilt, one fifteen or one
- 39:51Speaker 4: in sixteen, Derek been stay And you know, I know
- 39:55Speaker 4: a lot of people go, well, listen, he won two
- 39:58Speaker 4: playoff games, and yeah, that's great, but they weren't necessarily
- 40:03Speaker 4: they weren't top five type programs. I mean, SMU obviously
- 40:06Speaker 4: in the first round. But it's almost you know, people go, well,
- 40:11Speaker 4: that game wasn't his fault, It wasn't coaching mistakes that
- 40:15Speaker 4: led to their loss. Was it was Drew Aller throwing interceptions,
- 40:19Speaker 4: throwing the interception late. And my argument for that is
- 40:22Speaker 4: that players play the way their coaches coach and act
- 40:25Speaker 4: on the sidelines and throughout game week, and it just
- 40:29Speaker 4: seems like Penn State. It's not just this year, but
- 40:31Speaker 4: every year, and when it comes down to crunch time
- 40:34Speaker 4: late in games, they find a way to lose, and
- 40:37Speaker 4: losers find a way to lose. Winners don't find ways
- 40:40Speaker 4: to lose. And the common denominator and all that has
- 40:43Speaker 4: been James Franklin on the sideline. I think he's a
- 40:47Speaker 4: great coach. I don't think he's an elite coach. Elite
- 40:50Speaker 4: coaches win top five games won out of every three times.
- 40:54Speaker 4: He doesn't do that at all.
- 40:56Speaker 1: Championship game. Does Notre Dame have a puncher's chance?
- 41:00Speaker 4: I think so. The defense has been incredible all season.
- 41:04Speaker 4: I think a lot of people are underplaying the idea
- 41:08Speaker 4: that Notre Dame can match up well against Jeremiah Smith,
- 41:12Speaker 4: the receiver freshman phenom for Ohio State. I think that
- 41:15Speaker 4: they could potentially slow down that passing game. And look
- 41:19Speaker 4: just this past game Texas, their defense slowed down Jeremiah
- 41:23Speaker 4: Smith one catch for three yards. And Smith, as we saw,
- 41:27Speaker 4: exploded in that Rose Bowl against Oregon just a week
- 41:31Speaker 4: prior to that and was great in the first round
- 41:33Speaker 4: game against Tennessee, but Texas slowed him down. The key
- 41:37Speaker 4: for Notre Dame is just a play well on the outside.
- 41:41Speaker 4: Keep Jeremiah Smith and check and that defensive line where
- 41:45Speaker 4: they've lost their top defensive tackle, Riley Mills, led them
- 41:49Speaker 4: in sacks seven and a half sacks. They've been playing
- 41:51Speaker 4: without him the last two games and done very well.
- 41:55Speaker 4: They got to slow that run game down and kind
- 41:58Speaker 4: of make Ohio State a little bit one and by
- 42:01Speaker 4: being one dimensional, I think you make Ohio State one
- 42:03Speaker 4: dimensional by forcing them to run the ball, and that's
- 42:07Speaker 4: how you beat them, because that's how Michigan beat them.
- 42:09Speaker 4: I mean, Ohio State kept trying to run the ball
- 42:11Speaker 4: against them and they couldn't do it, and then they
- 42:13Speaker 4: refused to pass the ball for whatever reason. But you
- 42:15Speaker 4: can slow the passing game and force Ohio State to
- 42:18Speaker 4: run the ball. I really like Notre Dame's chances.
- 42:21Speaker 1: I've been watching your podcast with your wife. How did
- 42:23Speaker 1: you get your wife to do a podcast with you?
- 42:25Speaker 4: It's It was really kind of her idea. She's been
- 42:27Speaker 4: talking about it for years. She even came up with
- 42:30Speaker 4: a name for it that I that's not safe for work.
- 42:34Speaker 4: It's safe for her though, But we had it okay.
- 42:37Speaker 4: She wanted to call it basic bitch predicts I love it.
- 42:44Speaker 4: That's what she wanted to call it, but I was like,
- 42:47Speaker 4: we can't do that. So it's derogatory and all that.
- 42:50Speaker 4: It's bad enough that we're doing a podcast together where
- 42:52Speaker 4: it seems like I'm tucking down to her. But the
- 42:54Speaker 4: whole idea is that the idea of the show is
- 42:57Speaker 4: she likes college football, she just doesn't know the ins
- 42:59Speaker 4: and out of it, and at home we barely talk
- 43:02Speaker 4: about football or my job, and so this is the
- 43:05Speaker 4: opportunity for her to learn more about what I do
- 43:07Speaker 4: for a living. But also kind of she gets to
- 43:11Speaker 4: ask just bear bones questions about what's actually going on
- 43:14Speaker 4: in the game, and she gets to present ideas that
- 43:17Speaker 4: I think every common fan thinks about but is afraid
- 43:21Speaker 4: to say because they'll be labeled as dumb or not
- 43:23Speaker 4: in the know. And she's just freely out there asking
- 43:26Speaker 4: those questions. And you know, we've done a couple of
- 43:29Speaker 4: episodes so far. I think they're going to get a
- 43:31Speaker 4: lot better. We've talked about because we just kind of
- 43:33Speaker 4: just sat down and said, let's do this, and we've
- 43:35Speaker 4: talked it over and we've got some good ideas and
- 43:38Speaker 4: she's been holding back a little bit on the show,
- 43:41Speaker 4: and I can't wait till she fully unleashes herself.
- 43:43Speaker 1: Yeah it's called basic asth but basic ass football, right,
- 43:46Speaker 1: I mean that's what it is, right. Yeah?
- 43:48Speaker 4: Yeah, much better than the first recommendation for my wife.
- 43:53Speaker 4: But I did laugh when she brought it up.
- 43:56Speaker 1: You guys, check out the podcast. I watch it on YouTube.
- 43:58Speaker 1: Brandon Marcelo, thank you so much for being with us
- 44:02Speaker 1: over the last ten twelve weeks. Big fan of your work.
- 44:06Speaker 1: You need to vacation, so after this game, I hope
- 44:08Speaker 1: you get one. I hope they celebrate you at the
- 44:09Speaker 1: coaches conference. And good to see you again, my friend, and
- 44:12Speaker 1: hopefully i'll see you soon in person. Up a favvil.
- 44:14Speaker 4: Appreciate you, Bobby. Yeah, the coach is going to carry
- 44:16Speaker 4: me out, yes, off of the convention floor.
- 44:19Speaker 1: Very rudy, like all right, Randon, see you buddy. Have
- 44:21Speaker 1: you played Pick six from Draft Kings yet? It's awesome?

- 45:34Speaker 1: It's called lots to say with Bobby Bones and Matt Castle.
- 45:37Speaker 1: This is us. It's five minutes of us talking with
- 45:39Speaker 1: Jared Allen.
- 45:40Speaker 7: When you play the game, though, the most exciting part
- 45:44Speaker 7: for me was always to watch your youthful enthusiasm, like
- 45:47Speaker 7: you had fun when you played the game, and that
- 45:50Speaker 7: that permeated throughout the entire team, right, and when you
- 45:52Speaker 7: did your sack and you did the bull or whatever
- 45:55Speaker 7: the heck do you do, right, I mean, that's the
- 45:58Speaker 7: type of stuff that you know, not everybody has that there.
- 46:01Speaker 7: They have this workman like mentality and they're told to
- 46:03Speaker 7: act a certain way or do it a certain and
- 46:05Speaker 7: a certain method of Look, this is how you're supposed
- 46:09Speaker 7: to act. But just how you went out each and
- 46:11Speaker 7: every day and we had fun, Like that's what made
- 46:14Speaker 7: you a great teammate, but that's also what made you
- 46:16Speaker 7: such a lovable player in the NFL.
- 46:19Speaker 4: Man.
- 46:20Speaker 10: Yeah, I last two short not to have fun. Uh,
- 46:23Speaker 10: you know, I got to remind myself of that retirement sometimes.
- 46:26Speaker 1: Now you're just do your homework.
- 46:30Speaker 10: Oh my gosh, real life issues. No that, But I
- 46:35Speaker 10: mean I literally was fortunate. I told my dad when
- 46:37Speaker 10: I was eight years old, I was gonna play professional football.
- 46:39Speaker 10: Most parents are like, all right, Johnny, like go read
- 46:41Speaker 10: the books. My dad would drop me off. My dad
- 46:43Speaker 10: trained rain and cutting horses, so I managed ranches and
- 46:45Speaker 10: my dad, the rancher lived at the time, was about
- 46:46Speaker 10: a mile or so from the gate up to our
- 46:49Speaker 10: double wide trailer, because we were high class back then,
- 46:52Speaker 10: and so and I was what was I ten some
- 46:57Speaker 10: of your and I would run. He would make me
- 46:59Speaker 10: run every night up to the hill. And his whole
- 47:01Speaker 10: philosophy is like, you want to be in the pros,
- 47:03Speaker 10: you better eat, sleep, drinket because somebody out there is
- 47:06Speaker 10: doing more than you are, so you better better make
- 47:08Speaker 10: sure you're doing the most you could ever do. So
- 47:11Speaker 10: most parents are like, yeah, okay, have fun, you know,
- 47:13Speaker 10: to go to school. My dad was like, you want
- 47:14Speaker 10: to be in the borrows, let's get it, and he
- 47:16Speaker 10: uh it was. It was hard nosed on it. And
- 47:20Speaker 10: but that was that was all I ever wanted to do.
- 47:21Speaker 10: And so when I when I got to play professional
- 47:23Speaker 10: football as a living and make a living doing it, man,
- 47:27Speaker 10: that's there's no great. Even on days that sucked, even
- 47:29Speaker 10: training camp days when you want to you just bitching
- 47:31Speaker 10: and complaining because it's training camp. You look back and
- 47:33Speaker 10: you're like, you know, I'm getting paid money to play
- 47:35Speaker 10: a game.
- 47:36Speaker 4: This is dope.
- 47:36Speaker 1: How many celebrations did you have that didn't work out?
- 47:39Speaker 1: Because that we all know you for the tie, But
- 47:40Speaker 1: did you ever do like the giddy did you ever have? Like?
- 47:46Speaker 10: Well, that was the thing, my very first one. First
- 47:49Speaker 10: when I got fined five thousand dollars. So my my
- 47:52Speaker 10: tied end, my buddy, my roommate in college are tied in.
- 47:55Speaker 10: Never scored a touchdown, right, So I told him. I
- 47:57Speaker 10: was like, and he had, he had this brilliant or
- 48:00Speaker 10: a touchdown and celebration that he's gonna have, right, So
- 48:02Speaker 10: we were gonna we were gonna high fight, you know,
- 48:03Speaker 10: low five and then bring it back around, slap the
- 48:07Speaker 10: thigh like bodybuilders and flex it out right. That was
- 48:10Speaker 10: that was I was like, you never got a chance
- 48:12Speaker 10: doing to college. My very first sack, I'm doing that
- 48:15Speaker 10: preseason don't count, but who cares preseasons? First preseason game,
- 48:19Speaker 10: my sack like manny, bam, I hit that leg, shake
- 48:22Speaker 10: it out, bam, flex it five thousand dollars for such
- 48:25Speaker 10: suggestive behavior.
- 48:26Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 48:27Speaker 3: That the outside of your time.
- 48:29Speaker 1: Yeah, right here are thinking, but he's probably trying to.
- 48:35Speaker 10: So they said, they said, I gotta find well, I
- 48:38Speaker 10: didn't get a fine because I was a fourth round pick.
- 48:40Speaker 10: So there's other people with my number on the team.
- 48:41Speaker 4: Right.
- 48:41Speaker 10: There was an undrafted free agent lineman with the number
- 48:44Speaker 10: sixty nine. They sent him a fine for five thousand dollars.
- 48:50Speaker 5: He's like, what is what?
- 48:51Speaker 10: He called the league and got it sent to me.
- 48:53Speaker 10: And so in the preseason, if you have fined, you
- 48:55Speaker 10: don't pay it until you get make makes a team.
- 48:57Speaker 10: I'm like, bro, you know you're not making the team.
- 49:00Speaker 3: You know that you're honest, truth.
- 49:04Speaker 10: That on the me And it still cost me five
- 49:06Speaker 10: grand for that. And then I had the vets my
- 49:09Speaker 10: first couple of years. They would just pick celebrations for
- 49:12Speaker 10: me to do, like, all right, this week, you're doing
- 49:13Speaker 10: the lawnmower. Dallas had like two sacks against Dallas one
- 49:17Speaker 10: year and jelly roll, the original jelly roll Lionel Dalton. Uh,
- 49:22Speaker 10: He's like, all right, this year this game, you're doing
- 49:25Speaker 10: spirit fingers and high kicks.
- 49:26Speaker 3: I'm like, this sucks, bro.
- 49:31Speaker 10: So finally finally caught on and and I gotta give it.
- 49:34Speaker 10: I was actually telling Dustin Coke with yesterday Neil Smith.
- 49:38Speaker 10: We went out to dinner.
- 49:39Speaker 3: Neil Smith got.
- 49:40Speaker 10: Put into the Ring of Honor and Hank Junior saying
- 49:43Speaker 10: the national anthem that game. Okay, So I meet up
- 49:46Speaker 10: with Neil and then we ended up going out. We
- 49:48Speaker 10: went to dinner with with Hank Junior afterwards, which is
- 49:51Speaker 10: a whole nother amazing I'm sure. And and so Neil's like, hey, man,
- 49:57Speaker 10: I really appreciate you doing my celebration. He's like, but
- 49:59Speaker 10: you know, you, I can come up with something of
- 50:01Speaker 10: your own. So I grew up on a ranch. I
- 50:02Speaker 10: grew up calf roping, and so that's how we came about.
- 50:06Speaker 3: It's talking.
- 50:06Speaker 10: Somebody's like, yeah, lets time up. So when you calf rope,
- 50:08Speaker 10: you know, you flank your calf, you tie through legs, three,
- 50:09Speaker 10: your hands up.
- 50:10Speaker 3: That's when they stopped the clock.
- 50:11Speaker 10: So we just started doing that on quarterbacks and it's stuck.
- 50:14Speaker 1: And then yeah, here's the question for you guys. I
- 50:17Speaker 1: have to go on Good Morning Football tomorrow awesome on
- 50:21Speaker 1: a NFL network, Very cool, incredible, great love it. What
- 50:24Speaker 1: the crap am I gonna talk about?
- 50:25Speaker 3: What do you mean?
- 50:26Speaker 1: Because here's the thing they're interviewing me, and you know,
- 50:31Speaker 1: because that show they have real ballplayers. What the are
- 50:35Speaker 1: they gonna be?
- 50:35Speaker 7: Like?
- 50:36Speaker 1: What are we even get to talk after a pre
- 50:37Speaker 1: interview today, which means they have somebody call me and
- 50:40Speaker 1: go okay, so here's what we're gonna do.
- 50:42Speaker 4: What?
- 50:43Speaker 1: Like, I have no credibility.
- 50:45Speaker 3: What are you talking about? Mainly your your podcasts?
- 50:48Speaker 1: Yes, so they want me to come on to promote
- 50:50Speaker 1: lots to say that the show I do with Matt Castle,
- 50:53Speaker 1: which is an NFL product, Right, it's their show and
- 50:56Speaker 1: they want me to come on to promote it. What
- 51:00Speaker 1: what do they want to talk to? Like?
- 51:01Speaker 3: What?
- 51:02Speaker 8: Again?
- 51:02Speaker 1: I have no credibility in that show. It's like, I'm
- 51:07Speaker 1: just saying funny stuff for having crazy opinions. I mean
- 51:10Speaker 1: I was getting dragged a little bit for telling Kurt
- 51:12Speaker 1: Warner he was hot and take his helmet.
- 51:13Speaker 5: Off, and I saw some comments.
- 51:15Speaker 1: Yeah, but then they ended up playing that on other
- 51:17Speaker 1: NFL shows because I thought it was the funniest thing.
- 51:19Speaker 1: Oh no, for sure, I would do it again. I'm
- 51:20Speaker 1: just saying I'm not the typical person that you'd put
- 51:24Speaker 1: on like a hardcore football show. On a hardcore football network.
- 51:29Speaker 1: So I think what makes me different is I have
- 51:30Speaker 1: a question. It's like, hey man, you're really good looking
- 51:32Speaker 1: to the second for a helmet, Like that's the kind
- 51:34Speaker 1: of stuff I think about. So maybe I pitch stories
- 51:39Speaker 1: to them today for me to talk about? What do
- 51:41Speaker 1: I pitch.
- 51:41Speaker 5: Them top five best looking quarterbacks?
- 51:44Speaker 3: Maybe I don't know, you go all that round that's
- 51:47Speaker 3: going to be your brand?
- 51:48Speaker 4: Then?
- 51:49Speaker 3: Oh my to do that.
- 51:50Speaker 1: I don't think they're gonna they're gonna interview me, right,
- 51:53Speaker 1: So it's not like I'm a host coming up with
- 51:55Speaker 1: segments like when I hosted Rich Eysen. That's why I did.
- 51:57Speaker 1: I came up with segments and that's much easier for
- 51:59Speaker 1: me because I can have I come up with a
- 52:01Speaker 1: thousand segments that are sports related. I'm pretty knowledgeable, pretty funny.
- 52:05Speaker 1: But like those guys, they're gonna be like, what the
- 52:08Speaker 1: crap do we talk to him about? Because it's not
- 52:10Speaker 1: like I know more than them about anything in football.
- 52:13Speaker 1: So on a football show, what are they? What? What's
- 52:17Speaker 1: the deal?
- 52:19Speaker 3: What if you take the angle of like you're just
- 52:22Speaker 3: the fan, like because you do geek out over these
- 52:24Speaker 3: that's every podcast.
- 52:25Speaker 1: Every podcast is like we've got the fan and the player.
- 52:26Speaker 1: That's like lame and that is that's every thing.
- 52:32Speaker 5: Because that show, though, is more of like a pop
- 52:34Speaker 5: culture show because it's a morning show, like a typical
- 52:36Speaker 5: any like news morning show, but it's a football related
- 52:38Speaker 5: morning show, so you can almost take like a pop
- 52:40Speaker 5: culture sense of it, whether it's country music or whatever.
- 52:42Speaker 1: In I don't want to go on talking about country music.
- 52:46Speaker 5: You've worked in Top forty before. I don't talk about
- 52:48Speaker 5: music in general.
- 52:49Speaker 6: Well, Titan's got number the number one pick, so they
- 52:52Speaker 6: might ask you about that, so.
- 52:53Speaker 1: Maybe okay, So I can tell them to ask me
- 52:55Speaker 1: about that, okay, because I know enough about it, and
- 52:56Speaker 1: I'd be like, I also think they change the color
- 52:58Speaker 1: of their uniforms because they look slow. You got there,
- 53:00Speaker 1: we go, Their colors look slow. There are slow colors
- 53:03Speaker 1: and we have them, and we're never going to get
- 53:04Speaker 1: to the next level unless we change our colors. Yes,
- 53:06Speaker 1: that'd be the kind of like there are slow colors.
- 53:11Speaker 5: And under stadium coming. They got to get New York's
- 53:14Speaker 5: uniforms with it.
- 53:15Speaker 1: But I don't so maybe something about that number one
- 53:17Speaker 1: pick question of the Titans do.
- 53:20Speaker 3: But again, well, you know what you're really funny at
- 53:23Speaker 3: whenever you talk about playing Madden, because you you're really
- 53:26Speaker 3: good at Madden, and then you try to pitch Madden
- 53:28Speaker 3: stuff too, like yeah, yeah.
- 53:30Speaker 1: Maybe I should just maybe that's what I should do.
- 53:33Speaker 1: That's a good point because I like talking about Madden
- 53:35Speaker 1: or college football. Yes, and I've learned a lot though.
- 53:38Speaker 1: I'm telling you, like, you know different shells defensively, and
- 53:42Speaker 1: it's shells into formations and you know, a.
- 53:45Speaker 3: Good job, dude. Yeah, yeah, you're putting in the work
- 53:48Speaker 3: and I'm putting in the work.
- 53:49Speaker 1: I've put in a lot of film set on YouTube,
- 53:51Speaker 1: watching like other twelve year olds tell me how to
- 53:53Speaker 1: be better on defense.
- 53:54Speaker 3: Kevin, we were working out and he was like watching
- 53:57Speaker 3: his phone. I'm like, what are you doing watching a game?
- 53:59Speaker 3: Because it sounds like a game is Yeah, I'm watching
- 54:00Speaker 3: a game, Like who's playing right now? It was like
- 54:02Speaker 3: three o'clock on a Thursday. It's like, oh no, it's
- 54:04Speaker 3: a Madden game. One of our buddy's playing mad game.
- 54:07Speaker 5: Playing Twitch or something.
- 54:08Speaker 1: Yeah, it was on Twitch and it was NCAA football.
- 54:10Speaker 1: And we have a gamble league.
- 54:12Speaker 5: We have a Gamble league.
- 54:14Speaker 1: Yeah, so we gamble on the league and let's get
- 54:17Speaker 1: it was getting close to the Collectionball playoff and I
- 54:18Speaker 1: was making sure you know, I was watching them.
- 54:21Speaker 3: I share things coach.
- 54:22Speaker 1: Sure, that's scouting ahead of it a little bit.
- 54:25Speaker 3: So maybe that's it, But I don't know.
- 54:26Speaker 1: I think that's funny, like a humorous way to get
- 54:30Speaker 1: into it, because it's not like they're going to ask
- 54:31Speaker 1: me or care about what I really think when it
- 54:34Speaker 1: comes to x's and o's with the NFL, that's not
- 54:37Speaker 1: even what I do right mm hmm uh so, but
- 54:41Speaker 1: I'm doing that tomorrow. It's live tomorrow. I want to
- 54:44Speaker 1: do it from here. What time I think I'm doing
- 54:45Speaker 1: it here, like ten thirty or something?
- 54:47Speaker 3: Okay, are they in the East coast?
- 54:48Speaker 1: West West? Yeah, West coast. We can go through the
- 54:52Speaker 1: games real quick, Chargers and Texans. I've said this forever,
- 54:57Speaker 1: so I'm not saying this right now for the first time.
- 54:59Speaker 1: I've said this for every time we've spoke about this
- 55:03Speaker 1: for three years. Justin Herbert mah.
- 55:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean you just waited. You've waited a long
- 55:10Speaker 3: time because you're like, I feel like he's going to
- 55:13Speaker 3: turn around, it's gonna get better, but it never really
- 55:15Speaker 3: got better.
- 55:16Speaker 1: No, that's not what I say. I feel like at
- 55:18Speaker 1: some point it has to based on what everybody is saying.
- 55:21Speaker 1: I've never seen it. They have they anointed him, right,
- 55:25Speaker 1: and I've been saying forever I don't see it. But again,
- 55:28Speaker 1: I just watched Madden.
- 55:28Speaker 3: All right, you're a Madden player.
- 55:30Speaker 1: Yeah, a Madden player. So oh, I do four touches.
- 55:34Speaker 1: It's two four interceptions.
- 55:35Speaker 6: The lights are just too bright for him in the
- 55:36Speaker 6: biggest moments, and it's he listen.
- 55:38Speaker 1: He doesn't have a lot of weapons.
- 55:39Speaker 3: I get it.
- 55:39Speaker 1: I think mcconkey's about it, and he's like.
- 55:42Speaker 3: He's twelve, twelve and a half. He looks like one
- 55:46Speaker 3: of my kids out there.
- 55:47Speaker 5: But he's so good, unbelievable.
- 55:50Speaker 1: Oh yeah, like the ad Rs. Yeah, Texans ran. Yeah,
- 55:56Speaker 1: especially at the end second half.
- 55:58Speaker 3: I was making chili and I could just hear the TV.
- 56:00Speaker 3: Like another interception. I blocked field goal for two points,
- 56:05Speaker 3: like gosh.
- 56:06Speaker 5: Guy Cameron Dicker got lit.
- 56:08Speaker 1: Yeah he did. Stanley played awesome cornerback for the Texans. Yeah.
- 56:13Speaker 1: Ravens and Steelers. I'll confess this about this game. I
- 56:16Speaker 1: watched it and I think it was twenty nothing and
- 56:18Speaker 1: I turned it off. I think that was the score.
- 56:20Speaker 1: It was over, and then I turned it back on.
- 56:22Speaker 1: It was twenty at fourteen they had the ball. I
- 56:23Speaker 1: was like, oh god, and then I was like.
- 56:24Speaker 3: Yeah, that's over.
- 56:25Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, say I did the same thing.
- 56:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't even really jump back in. I was watching.
- 56:30Speaker 1: We're watching a movie at that point, watching a rival.
- 56:32Speaker 1: He up Rival, Ammy Adams.
- 56:34Speaker 3: I don't like, Amen, I know you have a week.
- 56:37Speaker 6: Don't know what it is with blot paintings or something,
- 56:41Speaker 6: and it's Alien's communicated, right, Okay.
- 56:44Speaker 8: Yeah I heard like, yeah, yeah, I liked it.
- 56:45Speaker 1: I loved it.
- 56:46Speaker 8: Yeah, I love those type of movies.
- 56:48Speaker 1: I thought it was awesome. Freaking sign Yeah no I
- 56:51Speaker 1: signed signs movie.
- 56:54Speaker 8: No, it is a good one too, though.
- 56:55Speaker 1: I yeah I saw sign Night. Yeah yeah, yeah, I
- 57:01Speaker 1: think it's all science. It's good though.
- 57:03Speaker 8: Yeah. Yeah, like you're just not watching it.
- 57:05Speaker 1: My wife will look for movies and she goes, hey,
- 57:07Speaker 1: we should watch the movie Arrival, and I'm like, I
- 57:10Speaker 1: don't know, and she goes, well, it's got aliens in it.
- 57:12Speaker 1: I'm like to watch it. She does it, but she
- 57:16Speaker 1: tries to find one that she can stand because I
- 57:20Speaker 1: hate movies in general. It's too long for just sit there,
- 57:23Speaker 1: and so we watched it. She loved it too.
- 57:26Speaker 5: Yeah, And Jeremy Renner, huh, why did you hate Amy?
- 57:29Speaker 8: Why do you hate Amy?
- 57:30Speaker 3: I have no idea, just to see her on screen,
- 57:31Speaker 3: and I'm like, I don't like that. I don't like
- 57:33Speaker 3: makes you feel She doesn't make me feel good.
- 57:35Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 57:36Speaker 1: It's like wholesome.
- 57:37Speaker 5: I don't know what it is.
- 57:38Speaker 3: Is there a role that she plays where she's really
- 57:40Speaker 3: mean or something? Mm hmm, maybe I watched a movie
- 57:44Speaker 3: where she was really mean.
- 57:46Speaker 1: Let's just look up Amy Adams movie, shall we.
- 57:47Speaker 8: Yeah, Well, you think she's got a punchable face or something.
- 57:50Speaker 3: I don't know what it is. It's like Joaquin Phoenix too.
- 57:53Speaker 3: It's like something about him, like he makes me nervous.
- 57:55Speaker 1: Watch Amy Adams movies. She has a movie called Disenchanted.
- 58:01Speaker 1: It's like a I don't know, Disney's type movie. Dear
- 58:04Speaker 1: Evan Hanson, The Woman in the Window, The.
- 58:07Speaker 3: Woman in the Window. She's got to be mean in
- 58:08Speaker 3: that one.
- 58:09Speaker 1: Have you seen it?
- 58:09Speaker 3: I don't know, maybe, but you would know if you've
- 58:11Speaker 3: seen it.
- 58:12Speaker 1: You can't just pick a title of a movie and
- 58:13Speaker 1: be like eyo, she's meaning that one.
- 58:14Speaker 3: It's not true. The other day somebody was telling me
- 58:16Speaker 3: a movie. I'm like, oh, that's cool, what's it about?
- 58:17Speaker 3: And they started telling me like I've seen that movie.
- 58:20Speaker 3: I just forgot the title.
- 58:21Speaker 1: I'm not seeing the Woman in the window. Maybe I
- 58:23Speaker 1: don't know Justice League. He'll Billy Elogy Vice by Dick Cheney,
- 58:28Speaker 1: Oh where Yeah?
- 58:29Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, Dick Cheney.
- 58:30Speaker 1: Was Arrival, Batman versed Superman, Big Eyes, American Hustle, her
- 58:34Speaker 1: lullaby American hustle.
- 58:36Speaker 5: When't she like, uh, she's like a can and like
- 58:39Speaker 5: the she was the wife of someone, right, Yeah, I.
- 58:44Speaker 3: Didn't say that, read it.
- 58:46Speaker 8: I didn't say that.
- 58:47Speaker 1: Man of Still Trouble with the Curve, Clintics Wood, the
- 58:50Speaker 1: Baseball Movie, The Fighter, The Fighter, The Muppets, The Muppets. Dude,
- 58:56Speaker 1: I think you have this thing where you probably likely
- 58:58Speaker 1: in love with her and you can't have her. See
- 59:02Speaker 1: she's been in a lot of movies. Go Lee, catch
- 59:05Speaker 1: me if you can.
- 59:06Speaker 4: Uh.
- 59:06Speaker 3: Uh, that's Tom Hanks, right, DiCaprio, that was awesome. Yeah,
- 59:11Speaker 3: true story ish based on a true story.
- 59:14Speaker 1: Yeah, Talladagan Heights, ballot of Ricky Bobby Bobby, Dude, I
- 59:18Speaker 1: know what the movie.
- 59:20Speaker 3: I don't know. You can name all the movies. I
- 59:22Speaker 3: don't know what it is. But when I see her,
- 59:24Speaker 3: I'm just like, I don't like her. Or if somebody's like, hey,
- 59:27Speaker 3: let's watch this movie it's Amy Adams, I'm like, I
- 59:28Speaker 3: don't want to watch it.
- 59:31Speaker 1: There's something.
- 59:32Speaker 3: Do you have an actor like that?
- 59:33Speaker 5: Yeah? I have shoot walk into your name. Pretty is
- 59:36Speaker 5: a pretty woman. Yeah, I have that about Julie Roberts.
- 59:39Speaker 5: I don't know what it is either.
- 59:40Speaker 3: Boom see you can't explain it.
- 59:42Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm like, I see her on there, I'm like, no,
- 59:44Speaker 5: I'm good. I don't need to watch that.
- 59:45Speaker 1: So she done a movie you watch it was really bad,
- 59:47Speaker 1: and then you think I don't want to sit through another.
- 59:49Speaker 5: That's what I've always I tried to pinpoint it to that.
- 59:51Speaker 5: I'm like, what movie did she that I watched? Maybe
- 59:53Speaker 5: when I was young, but I can't.
- 59:55Speaker 1: I don't know, movie Mike, what's wrong with these guys?
- 59:57Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 59:58Speaker 1: Amy Adams is like always a nice person, super movies, yeah,
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: wholesome and Julian Roberts America Sweetheart.
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm not Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: Guy.
- 1:00:07Speaker 5: I wish I knew maybe he has a deeper meaning
- 1:00:09Speaker 5: you know read, do you have.
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: An actor like that?
- 1:00:11Speaker 5: I kind of feel that way about Amy Schumer.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: Now you cannot like her comedy though, or feel like
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: her person because these but with Roberts and they're just
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: acting Amy Adams, you don't really know about their personal
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: lives that much. With Amy Schumer, you can just hate
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: her comedy. Yeah, I don't know, because she's only not
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: known as an actress. She's done some acting, but I
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: think mostly you just hate her comedy.
- 1:00:31Speaker 8: I guess so.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: You guys hate anybody's comedy where you're like, they're just
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: not funny and everybody loves them.
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: I don't hate his comedy. I just don't understand why
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: everyone loves his comedy. And that's Nate Bergott.
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: Same.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: Oh, he's super funny to make, and he's super clean.
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: He's very clean. Yeah, and so.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: You don't get you don't get why he's so popular
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: right now?
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: Correct, Like I watch a special and I watch for
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: thirty minutes and maybe do a that's the most I
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: would last.
- 1:00:59Speaker 5: Yeah, I try his with the one on Netflix, I
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: would watch twenty minutes. I'm like, am, I'm.
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: Okay, why do you think that is, it's just not
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: for you.
- 1:01:06Speaker 5: It's just not for me. And I'm not hating on
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: his comedy because I know what kind of comedy I
- 1:01:09Speaker 5: think I like, and that's just not it.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: You like lots of f words, and yeah, you do,
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: you like.
- 1:01:14Speaker 5: The I don't. I like the cussing. I think it's
- 1:01:16Speaker 5: more relatable for some reason.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: I like the cussing too. Yeah, I don't mind that.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: I don't know. I think he's funny. I think he's
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: find to be funny clean.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: But like my wife loves him and she'll like, we'll
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: sit together watch the special and she's like crying tears
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: and I'm looking at her like, are you seriously? Well,
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: this is why you don't think I'm funny?
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: Sometimes you know who for me, isn't that funny? And
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: I think it's just a culture thing. Or any of
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: the Mexican comedians.
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: What the ass b? What's you talking about?
- 1:01:45Speaker 4: Men?
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: And not all of them, but when they do, and
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: it could be it could be Gabriel, like Lysias or Carlosia.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: They have really funny things, but when they go into
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: the Mexican culture stuff, sometimes I just miss it.
- 1:01:55Speaker 5: Oh, you can't relate to it?
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: Or yeah.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: I mean, I don't even know what they're saying. Sometimes
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: when they're making like jokes and in Spanish words, I'm
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: just like, I don't know what's happening.
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: George loves does that all the time.
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: So yeah, and I've mostly George Lovez on TV. But
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: it could be I guess it doesn't have to be
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: the Mexican Ish comics. It could be any culture I
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: don't understand. I watched a guy who was Asian and
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: he was doing a lot of Asian jokes and it
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: just didn't get that. I didn't get them. So I
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: was like, man, I bet people are loving this. I
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: just don't get us on my culture.
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: I see what you're saying. Because the Mexican comedians there's
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: a lot of like, oh my gosh, we do do that.
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: That's funny. Yeah, and that's what we think is funny
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: about it.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: And I would bet that there are Mexicans, Hispanics, Latinos
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: that would watch like get or Done and be like
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: what the heck hell? Like you know that, like real
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: redneck type stuff, because some of them are very culture specific.
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: And that's when I get lost. I completely respect because
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: of people. All of people think it's funny. There's something
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: to it that I'm not getting. But yeah, a lot
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: of those guys because they're so big, like the Gabriel Iglesias,
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: he's huge, he's huge. Some of my stuff is so funny,
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: but when it goes really Mexican, I have trouble because
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't I don't get the joke.
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: That makes sense.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't get the joke.
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: But nay Bergaci like he's a dad like me, you know,
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: like I think what he's saying is funny, Like the
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: topics he's talking about is funny. I just don't understand
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: how he's selling out like a huge arena. It feels
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: like when he does stand up, it feels like I'm
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: at a little dinner party and he's at the table telling,
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: telling the story, and I'm like, that guy's funny.
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: He is your Gabriel Glaciers.
- 1:03:30Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't get the white guys you were, man,
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: that's what it is, Okay, So I'm gonna go with them. Yeah,
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: like the culture comedians that I don't get. Sometimes Matt
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: Riif's not that funny to me.
- 1:03:43Speaker 5: Yeah, he's a little extra sometimes, but.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: Sometimes yeah, sometimes he's not funny to me. But again,
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: my opinion doesn't matter because I'm only one person who's
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: really funny to you.
- 1:03:55Speaker 5: I've never seen Well, no, I was gonna say a
- 1:03:58Speaker 5: full stand up, I don't know, but I mean Levonne
- 1:04:00Speaker 5: just in clips version.
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: Is podcast Yvonne is super funny. His stand up stuf's
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: pretty good, Okay, pretty good, but him long form is
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: way better. Really, yeah, I think, Mike, what do you
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: think about that?
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I would agree small clips.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't really think he's known for his specials.
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: Like I watched one on Netflix. Yeah it's pretty good,
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: but again him, I will watch the olevonn crap when
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: someone's like someone asked him if he was racist, and
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: he goes, I don't say, I think, I guess. Sometimes
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: I get so mad I'll write it down like that
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: crab is so funny because he's just like thinking.
- 1:04:32Speaker 5: I think he's best in like the whole interview part too,
- 1:04:33Speaker 5: because he just coming up with stuff as as it's flowing,
- 1:04:36Speaker 5: and you can see it in his head, working work
- 1:04:38Speaker 5: and working. Then he comes out with something so to
- 1:04:40Speaker 5: me like a stand up for him where it's more
- 1:04:42Speaker 5: thought out. I don't know if it'd be as good.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: He was so funny. I told you I had dinner
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: with him. Yeah, Like he came home and sat with
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: us as it was me and my wife and Brett
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: Eldridge and we're just at dinner and he was sitting
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: one over. I don't want to bother anybody, but he
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: didn't have food on his table, and I wasn't like
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: and so I was like, hey, THEO and Bibyon was
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: a big fan. Think he's super funny. And he just
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: has a notebook out and he's like, right now his notebook.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: Hey man? He goes, oh, I said, watch, I watched
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: a lot of your stuff online. He goes, I'm big
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: fan of your videos too. At this point, I'm like
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: really but I don't know. And I was like, well, thanks, man,
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: don't want to bother you. Walk back to the table, goes,
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: do you mind if I come over and hang out
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: with you guys? I'd be like oh, And I was like.
- 1:05:20Speaker 5: All right, come on.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: So he walks right over and sits down with me,
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: Kaitlin and Brett for like fifteen minutes till his food
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: shows up.
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: Because he'd ordered. It's cool.
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: I remember the story he told me. It was so
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: freaking funny. It was something about his buddies. One of
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: his buddies took him like turkey hunting and they had
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: This is not a joke. It's a story, and I'm
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: gonna tell it poorly, but I remember being so funny.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: This is what he thought. His buddy like took him
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: turkey hunting, because he's from Louisiana and you know, grew
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: up around all that. By the way, his dad had
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: him when he was like seventy. Yeah, his dad was
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: born like nineteen ten or something.
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: What the yeah. Oh he's from another country.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: Too, from Louisiana.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: Yes, no, no, no, but he sometimes he always talks about
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: how he's like Chilean or something. He's like for real, Brod,
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: I thought.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: I thought you met.
- 1:06:07Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: So he sits down, he's talking about his buddy taking
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: him turkey on and he goes, when we go out
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: all day, we don't see any turkeys, have a little lunch,
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: go back, go back out again, three more hours, I'll
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: see any turkeys.
- 1:06:19Speaker 4: He go.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: It was because we're talking about Arkansas and that's where
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: he went turkey on. So this is how I know
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: this wasn't like a bit. He goes, oh, well, we
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: went over to Camden. We were turkey on. He goes,
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: spend first four hours a day in seeing the turkeys.
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: We went and he went back out and see the turkeys. Said,
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: finished up, got back in the truck, put all our
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: stuff away. We're driving out and we see some turkeys.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: My buddy's like, pull truck over, let's shot the turkeys.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: He's like, no, the game's over. Like he's like the
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: horns sounded. You don't fish, you don't finish.
- 1:06:43Speaker 8: A basketball game.
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: And be like, I feel like I can take him now, coach,
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: let's go get him. He goes, no time expired. We
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: were and I remember laughing so hard, and I was like,
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: this dude's like funny, Like I don't know if hanging
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: out with him for that brief period of time, I
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: don't think it's an act or a gimmick, Like I
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: don't think it's a put on.
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: It seems genuine.
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, And and it was just like odd but
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: very funny. And then he was like about my food's over.
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: There'm gonna go eat now, and I'm gonna like I
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: was like, all right, buddy, Letter, that's hilarious.
- 1:07:13Speaker 5: I met him at a concert one time, really yeah,
- 1:07:15Speaker 5: I just took a quick picture with him.
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: That was it.
- 1:07:16Speaker 5: But it was super cool before he was famous. No,
- 1:07:19Speaker 5: this is three years ago. Oh film at a morganwall
- 1:07:23Speaker 5: in concert.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: Let's see Broncos bills, bills. He gives a game for
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: a second.
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: Yeah, it was dominated this game for like the first
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: two minutes.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: We have four minutes Eagles packers, you know what. Eagles
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: don't even look that good.
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: Now.
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: A J.
- 1:07:41Speaker 6: Brown is reading a book. Yeah really that book is
- 1:07:44Speaker 6: now like an Amazon bestseller. The one that he pulled out.
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: It was called like he was reading a book on
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: the sideline.
- 1:07:49Speaker 12: It was called like giving it your best motivational thing
- 1:07:53Speaker 12: the cameras, there's no way he catch It was like
- 1:07:56Speaker 12: his way of passive aggressively you know, calls the scene
- 1:08:00Speaker 12: that makes sense.
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: And they commanded to few twenty and they kicked, there's
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: a game tonight. Rams, Like we talked about the Brandon
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: you got the national championship, but both cares. I think
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: we're good. I hope Notre Dame wins, but we too
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: are probably not going.
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: That was a good game, Penn State, Notre Dame.
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: It was good.
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: It was It feels like a lifetime ago.
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: All the games since then it was lifetime. Shout out
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: to my wife because there was a lot of football
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: the last thir four days.
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: And oh really see, I felt like this was a
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: treat for my wife because there was more. I guess
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: there were more important games that we had to watch,
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: but there were less games and a little break maybe,
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: like right.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: I felt like they were all the games are so
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: important you need to watch all of them? Yeah, because
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: they were also important. So it was like, gotta watch
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: the CFP game, gotta watch this one the next night,
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: and we're all we're snowed in too, so there's nothing
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: else to do except hang out and so but.
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: There was a break I think on Friday.
- 1:08:58Speaker 5: No, there was no Friday night.
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: There were also Arkansas pla basketball watch that game.
- 1:09:03Speaker 5: I pulled a ray and I watched the NFL game
- 1:09:06Speaker 5: on my laptop while because my fiance's mom is in
- 1:09:09Speaker 5: town while they watch TV. It's great, no sound.
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: So shout out to my wife for that. That's it.
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: I think that's it. We'll be back later on this week.
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: Shout out to all the comedians we loved. And for
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: the record, I like Mexicans. It's just when I don't
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: understand the comedy and not all Mexican comedy, just parts
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: when it's in Spanish or it has to do with
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: like Mexican culture. I don't get, so you know what,
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: say what you will. I got to thank you very much.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: Don't clip that?
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: All right?
