- 0:08You're listening to the Hidden Lightness on America Out Loud Talk Radio.
- 0:12I'm your host Jimmy Hinton.
- 0:14Well, a new jobs report came out.
- 0:17And it's surprised people.
- 0:19Surprise, surprise.
- 0:21Shouldn't be surprising to us, but it is good news.
- 0:24The private sector added 109,000 new jobs in April, which was above expectations, according to the ADP.
- 0:34The ADP releases their 20, 26 April private sector jobs data.
- 0:41And this is really good news.
- 0:43And I've been saying this for a very long time that our economy is very resilient.
- 0:48And I know that uh President Trump rightly has gotten a lot of criticism because of the war and what it has done to gas prices.
- 0:59Uh it's it's putting a lot of pain on a lot of people.
- 1:03There's no question about that.
- 1:06Uh it has really hurt the transportation industry.
- 1:10No question about that.
- 1:12And uh it's it's just tough.
- 1:17But a lot of people translate that to everyday jobs, and they're like, well, because we're feeling we're feeling uh this squeeze, we're feeling the squeeze at the pump, we're feeling uh our our our pocketbooks are being emptied because at the gas pump we're spending a hundred plus dollars to fill up our tank of gas every week, and it is it's it's a lot of money, and uh especially for big trucks and big commercial vehicles and airplanes and all of that stuff.
- 1:54It's incredibly expensive, but when we look at the jobs numbers, they're actually doing really good.
- 2:02It's it is a really resilient economy, and a lot of people were predicting that the stock market was going to crash, they're still saying it.
- 2:11Stock market's gonna crash, it's it's it's in free fall, and yet we keep hitting higher highs and higher lows.
- 2:21It just keeps going up and up and up.
- 2:25I've been staying this for months.
- 2:28You can go back and listen to it.
- 2:30I said with the war has always come, even during uh a US-led war or a US involved war, even during that war, the stock market, it takes an initial little bit of a dive, and then it begins to climb.
- 2:51And history repeats itself over and over again, and what happens is the market responds to the end of the war, and then it just takes off like crazy.
- 3:01And I think we've not even seen the beginning of how the market is going to take off.
- 3:06Now, that doesn't mean that we're not going to see a correction.
- 3:09I think that we are very long overdue for a correction, or at least another correction.
- 3:16We had one that the market dropped about what, 20%.
- 3:21It reacted to President Trump becoming the president, and then it just took off and it's never looked back.
- 3:29So we are probably due for another kind of a correction, but overall, the market keeps climbing and climbing.
- 3:35And I said during the war, when the war first first started, I said, I wish I had a mountain of money to just buy a whole bunch of stocks and ETFs, because I'd be doing it right now.
- 3:47And lo and behold, uh the retirement accounts are looking pretty good.
- 3:54And uh I think they're gonna continue to boom.
- 3:56I'm actually looking right now, the Dow Jones up, Nasdaq up, SP 500 futures up.
- 4:02Uh it just keeps climbing, keeps climbing and climbing.
- 4:07Well, why is that?
- 4:09Why does the stock market do well?
- 4:12Why are people investing?
- 4:14Are they gambling?
- 4:16Or do people believe in the American businesses?
- 4:21And I happen to believe that people believe in the American businesses, and there's just a lot of opportunity.
- 4:26We keep seeing this over and over again.
- 4:29Uh there's an article here, Fox Business uh article, private sector added 109,000 jobs in April, above expectations, and there's an interview with the I forget what she is with uh with Indeed.
- 4:44She's uh maybe the CEO or whatever of Indeed, and she's like, we just keep seeing tons and tons and tons of people uh getting hired at jobs all over the place in the private sector.
- 4:58She's like, it hasn't slowed down.
- 5:00Hiring hasn't slowed down one bit.
- 5:03It's doing quite well.
- 5:04People are getting jobs, and it's not being reported that way.
- 5:08And it's really unfortunate.
- 5:11It's unfortunate because people keep that narrative up that oh, Trump is wrecking the economy.
- 5:17Uh the economy's doing really bad.
- 5:19We're we're in a big slump.
- 5:20We're we're in the the great recession.
- 5:24And yet the economy keeps booming.
- 5:29People keep getting hired.
- 5:30In fact, in the uh the the um trying to think in the name of the field, uh, I don't know what it's what the field's called.
- 5:40The word is slipping my mind right now, but uh in the next two years, we would need, and I uh this isn't suggested, we would need desperately need 500,000 new electricians.
- 5:55I mean, really, we need we need them right now, but the estimates are within the next two years, we're absolutely at a crossroads.
- 6:04We need 500,000 new electricians added to what we already have, and that's just in one field.
- 6:14And those are high-paying jobs, those are very good jobs.
- 6:19Now, the question is not um whether those jobs are gonna go away, they're not.
- 6:26The question is, are we actually gonna be able to find enough people to fill those positions?
- 6:31That's the question.
- 6:33And that's really a good problem to have.
- 6:36I mean, isn't that better than people standing in the bread lines?
- 6:39Like you, you know, you you compare this to New York City.
- 6:42We we have what's going on in New York City.
- 6:47And LA, it's another example.
- 6:51But you have people in line for blocks and blocks and blocks to get their free food.
- 7:00Ma'am Domini opened up these, like he's bragging about them, these uh free grocery stores.
- 7:02Like he's bragging about them, these uh free grocery stores.
- 7:06Well, that was a complete failure.
- 7:06Well, that was a complete failure.
- 7:10I mean, at least from what I can tell, it flopped.
- 7:10I mean, at least from what I can tell, it flopped.
- 7:14Because people are waiting in line.
- 7:14Because people are waiting in line.
- 7:16They were promised that they were gonna get free food, and then come to find out uh the the the first in the first hour, the store gets completely wiped clean.
- 7:16They were promised that they were gonna get free food, and then come to find out uh the the the first in the first hour, the store gets completely wiped clean.
- 7:29And what do you?
- 7:29And what do you think is gonna happen?
- 7:32When you when you give people free food, and you don't put limits on that, and you say, well, you can get as much food as you want, you can fill as many grocery carts as you want, and we're gonna do a lottery ticket system where whoever gets the right number, those are the people who are gonna get to get the free groceries.
- 7:52Well, that creates chaos, animosity, uh insanity.
- 8:01It's it's not a good system.
- 8:05And so people focus on that, and they're like, see, we're we have all these people who are struggling to get food.
- 8:13And yeah, that's true.
- 8:16But at the same time, look at what the economy's doing.
- 8:21Look at the bigger picture, look at the stock market.
- 8:23Look at look at how the companies are growing.
- 8:28So the economist estimates were that we were gonna have a gain of 99,000 jobs.
- 8:34Well, we actually added 109,000.
- 8:38The month's prior payrolls number was revised lower to a gain of 61,000 from an initially reported gain of 62,000.
- 8:48So not a big deal.
- 8:49It's a thousand, a thousand off.
- 8:52They just revised it a little bit lower for whatever reason.
- 8:55The numbers were not entirely accurate, but they revised the numbers, and we have almost doubled that.
- 9:05Uh we've almost doubled from March to April.
- 9:10I think that's pretty incredible.
- 9:13It just shows that people are being hired.
- 9:15People are are getting jobs, they're getting employed.
- 9:20Companies are growing.
- 9:22Education and health services added 61,000 positions in April.
- 9:29That led the job creation in the month of April.
- 9:34Uh, trade transportation and utilities added 25,000.
- 9:39Construction gained 10,000, and financial activities added 9,000.
- 9:46So again, I've been saying this for a very long time.
- 9:50Education and health services, right now, that field is wide open.
- 9:55But the both of those fields, wide open.
- 9:58They're desperate for people to enter into those fields.
- 10:03Healthcare, especially, you look at health services, and part of that is that we have an aging population in this nation.
- 10:12And I was looking here in Pennsylvania.
- 10:14Uh, I do searches every now and then because I I think about my kids.
- 10:19I'm like, if my kids wanted to start their own business, what field would be a field where it's just the door is wide open.
- 10:30And the number one thing that keeps coming up is anything that has to do with health services or uh just helping elderly people in general, because we have an aging population in my county.
- 10:45Now, this is nationwide, but in my county especially, we have an aging population, and so it's things like taking people's trash out, taking their trash to the curb.
- 10:57You you can create a business and you can charge money for that.
- 11:05Uh fixing people's driveways.
- 11:09I just got a call yesterday.
- 11:11I kid you not, I got a call yesterday asking if I would volunteer and fix somebody's gravel driveway who they're um they are disabled, so they can't get out there and do it themselves.
- 11:26And I got a phone call.
- 11:27Would you and your sons like to go over and pick up sticks and fix up this gravel driveway that's that's kind of still a wreck from winter time?
- 11:36I'm telling you that need is huge.
- 11:39There are job opportunities available.
- 11:41Now, if I wanted to start a business, I could literally do it yesterday.
- 11:47And it's not me.
- 11:48This is not not about me being able to create a business.
- 11:51It's just that the opportunity is there.
- 11:53Anybody could do it.
- 11:54Literally anybody could do it.
- 11:58Anyone could go out and buy a rake, one of those metal rakes, buy a shovel.
- 12:06And if you don't have a pickup truck, you can buy for cheap, you can buy small bags of gravel.
- 12:14And you can go around and make a business fixing people's driveways.
- 12:19And that's anywhere in the United States.
- 12:21That's literally anywhere.
- 12:23People will pay money to patch potholes and to fix their driveways.
- 12:30We just fixed ours.
- 12:31It was a big issue.
- 12:33Our driveway has taken a beating in the last few years, and we just neglected it.
- 12:38And I got a load of gravel delivered, and my wife and I fixed a driveway.
- 12:44And it's beautiful now.
- 12:47And it costs a couple hundred dollars.
- 12:51But people will pay.
- 12:52That was just for the gravel.
- 12:54Uh, and we use the gravel for something else.
- 12:56If I actually only got gravel for the driveway, I'd be looking at around a hundred dollars.
- 13:01Well, people would pay money for that.
- 13:04They would pay money to have somebody fix their driveway.
- 13:09But you look at the construction jobs, you look at the education, the health services field.
- 13:15These jobs are wide open.
- 13:17These fields are absolutely wide open.
- 13:20And nobody's talking about this.
- 13:21Instead, it's it's oh, that's Trump, his administration, they're wrecking the economy, they're ruining the economy.
- 13:29You know, we have an estimated, I think it's something like 10 trillion dollars that's estimated to come into, I believe it's just the energy field in the next 10 years.
- 13:42There's just so much money to be made and uh for jobs to be created, it's here.
- 13:54Artificial intelligence, a lot of people resist it, and they're like, oh, it's it's gonna ruin, it's gonna ruin our nation, it's gonna ruin everything about us.
- 14:00Our nation, it's gonna ruin everything about us.
- 14:02But if you actually look for opportunity, it's there.
- 14:02But if you actually look for opportunity, it's there.
- 14:07It's knocking on the door.
- 14:07It's knocking on the door.
- 14:11Construction.
- 14:11Construction, you're gonna see a huge surge in the need for construction workers.
- 14:13You're gonna see a huge surge in the need for construction workers.
- 14:16It's alright here.
- 14:16It's alright here.
- 14:17And this is another issue.
- 14:17And this is another issue.
- 14:19I just had one of our church members tell me just on on Sunday.
- 14:19I just had one of our church members tell me just on Sunday, I kid you not.
- 14:23I kid you not.
- 14:25He's been trying for months to get a plumber.
- 14:25He's been trying for months to get a plumber.
- 14:30To get a local plumber just to put a valve on.
- 14:34He bought a valve for over at the church building.
- 14:38He bought a valve.
- 14:39It's like a main water cutoff.
- 14:43Because we we have a holding tank instead of a septic tank.
- 14:47And there's a there's a risk of that if water gets left on, which may or may not have happened recently.
- 14:54Um but if that water gets left on, somebody forgets to turn a sink off or a toilet sticks or whatever, and the water continues to run, it fills up that holding tank, and then it backs up into the building.
- 15:07So he wants this valve that he already bought.
- 15:10He bought the valve a couple months ago.
- 15:13He's been trying to get a plumber to put this valve on.
- 15:18He can't get any plumber.
- 15:20He only got one to return a phone call.
- 15:23Only one out of a whole bunch of plumbers that he called.
- 15:27He got one call back.
- 15:30This plumber showed up, said, Oh yeah, that's a super easy job.
- 15:34I can do that.
- 15:35That's it's take me an hour to do.
- 15:37That's literally an hour job.
- 15:41That was weeks ago.
- 15:44He cannot get in touch with that plumber again.
- 15:47He's called, he's called, he's left messages.
- 15:50And finally he said, I'm I'm just gonna have to learn how to do it myself.
- 15:56I mean, this is this is what's happening all across America.
- 15:59This can be replicated all over, and you guys know what I'm talking about.
- 16:04When it comes to electricians, when it comes to plumbers, uh appliance repairmen, you can't find anybody.
- 16:13Nobody's available.
- 16:16Well, there's a very important reason for that.
- 16:18That reason is we have not enough people working in those fields.
- 16:24The demand is through the roof, and that's why they're able to charge top dollar.
- 16:30My wife, her place of employment, she's the one in charge of calling the uh the HVAC servicemen.
- 16:39And they charge $350 every single time, literally just to show up.
- 16:45$350, that's before they even do anything, before they diagnose anything.
- 16:50$350 just to show up.
- 16:53These jobs are wide open.
- 16:56Wide open.

- 18:57Well, the America most of us have grown up with law under a relentless and pernicious siege from those carrying the banners of socialism and Marxism.
- 19:08America.news is the antidote to these poison is America outloud.news is that place to awaken your heart, soul, and mind to the outlook.
- 19:30The United States, the private sector, added more jobs than what was expected in April.
- 19:37109,000 to be exact, which was well above expectations, according to the ADP.
- 19:43Now, this is really good for us.
- 19:45This is really important for us because a lot of people are just giving up because they accept a narrative, a narrative that everything's fallen apart, that the economy's crap, that there are no jobs out there.
- 19:58And what they'll do is they'll put like one or two, one or two resumes out there, you know, to a couple different people.
- 20:06They get rejected for whatever reason, and then they throw their hands up and they're like, see, I tried.
- 20:12I I tried the uh the economy sucks.
- 20:16There are no jobs, no avail, no, no available jobs, and so I'm just gonna have to default on everything.
- 20:23They max out the credit cards and they just give up.
- 20:26I don't think that's the right approach at all.
- 20:29I think that if people open their eyes and you look around, and maybe it's not a job that you expect, maybe it's not a job that you really wanted to do in the first place, but there are jobs out there.
- 20:41It may not be in your field.
- 20:43I was just talking to somebody the other day, and they said, I I went to college for four years, spent all this money, and I have a job that has nothing to do with my degree.
- 20:53And I said, Are you lamenting that?
- 20:57Are you complaining about that?
- 21:00Like, I'm just curious.
- 21:00Like I'm just curious.
- 21:01I'm I'm just like you brought it up.
- 21:01I'm I'm just like you brought it up.
- 21:03I'm just kind of curious about that.
- 21:03I'm just kind of curious about that.
- 21:05And he said, no, not at all.
- 21:05And he said, No, not at all.
- 21:07It's uh I think it's wonderful.
- 21:07That's I think is wonderful.
- 21:10I think it's great that there are jobs out there, that I was able to find a job.
- 21:10I think it's great that there are jobs out there that I was able to find a job, and you know, I went to college thinking that this is what I wanted to do, but ended up going in a totally different direction, and I have zero regrets.
- 21:14And you know, I went to college thinking that this is what I wanted to do, but ended up going in a totally different direction, and I have zero regrets.
- 21:23I was like, you know, it's kind of interesting.
- 21:25This is something that people don't talk about enough that.
- 21:29That it's it's okay to get a job outside of your area of expertise.
- 21:39Or your area of training.
- 21:41It's okay to learn new trades.
- 21:43It's okay to learn new things.
- 21:46There's absolutely nothing in the world wrong with that.
- 21:48And a lot of people, they feel jaded if they go to college and they can't find a job in their particular field with their particular degree.
- 21:57And my my response is so what?
- 22:01Look for opportunity.
- 22:04And that doesn't mean that you can't circle back and use your degree later on.
- 22:09But you don't give up.
- 22:11You don't throw your hands up and talk about how the system is rigged and how there are no jobs out there.
- 22:18You apply that to the entire economy because you can't find jobs in your particular field.
- 22:24Well, everything ebbs and flows.
- 22:27Everything ebbs and flows.
- 22:32And these fields that are booming right now in 10 years, they could they could be retracting.
- 22:41They could be losing momentum.
- 22:46And then another field that is dead right now might be just booming like crazy in 10 years.
- 22:53You just never know.
- 22:53Like it ebbs and flows all the time.
- 22:55So you have to be willing to look at the bigger picture and look for opportunity.
- 23:00And when you do that, you realize, wow, our economy actually, overall, our economy is very resilient.
- 23:06And a lot of people talk about how, well, you know, like these were talking points from the Republicans.
- 23:12Biden ruined the economy.
- 23:13Look how bad the economy was under Biden.
- 23:15Actually, the economy did pretty good.
- 23:19The economy did, like, if you look at the economy under President Biden's term, it did quite well.
- 23:29And that's just a fact.
- 23:32And so a lot of people want to attach these emotional pools to certain presidents.
- 23:39Be like, look, Biden wrecked the economy.
- 23:41Look, Trump is wrecking the economy.
- 23:43Look, uh, and you have to separate fact from fiction.
- 23:51Right.
- 23:51We have to separate fact from fiction.
- 23:57And right now, the economy, and things can change.
- 24:01I understand that.
- 24:02I get that.
- 24:04Fully, fully, fully get that.
- 24:07Things can change at the drop of a hat.
- 24:11But right now, the economy is doing quite well.
- 24:14It's very resilient.
- 24:16And the numbers prove it.
- 24:17So we'll look at some of these numbers here.
- 24:19Um, the figure above is above the economist estimates of a gain of 99,000 jobs.
- 24:28The prior month's payrolls number was revised lower to a gain of 61,000 from initially reported gain of 62,000.
- 24:38As I mentioned, education and health services are the number one pick right now.
- 24:45They added 61,000 positions, leading job creation in April.
- 24:51Trade, transportation, and utilities added 25,000.
- 24:56Construction gained 10,000.
- 24:58Financial activities gained 9,000.
- 25:03Leisure and hospitality and information each added 4,000 jobs.
- 25:11While natural resources and mining gained 3,000 jobs.
- 25:16Manufacturing added 2,000 jobs.
- 25:20And then on the negative side, professional and business services lost 8,000 jobs, and other services lost 1,000 positions.
- 25:31Large businesses, those with 500 or more employees gained 42,000 jobs in April.
- 25:40Businesses with 50 to 499 employees gained 2,000 workers.
- 25:46And establishments with fewer than 50 employees gained 65,000 jobs.
- 25:54Now that's that's pretty incredible to me.
- 25:58That the small businesses far outpaced everybody, even though even the large employers.
- 26:04The ones with 500 or more employees, they gained less jobs in April than establishments with fewer than 50 employees.
- 26:12It's those small jobs.
- 26:14And that's why it's really important to support your local businesses.
- 26:21I mean, all of us should be supporting our local businesses.
- 26:26Why?
- 26:27Well, because look how many people they employ.
- 26:42Small jobs, small businesses, they ought to be protected at all costs.
- 26:48And that's why I like when people talk about small businesses and they talk about protecting them.
- 26:55Incentivizing small businesses.
- 26:59That's really, really important.
- 27:02And this is just further proof of that.
- 27:05When we protect small businesses, when we support small businesses, they can employ more people.
- 27:1365,000 jobs, it's the biggest number out of out of any size business.
- 27:20It's the small businesses that are adding the most jobs.
- 27:29And I I happily do so.
- 28:00And that's the thing.
- 28:00And that's the thing.
- 28:00Like, you know, the robots, Amazon, they they have a massive amount of robots.
- 28:01Like, you know, the robots, Amazon, they they have a massive amount of robots.
- 28:06Like they're replacing people left and right.
- 28:06Like they're replacing people left and right.
- 28:10For example, uh, as of June 2025, now this is a year ago, Amazon deployed more than one million robots across its global operations network.
- 28:10For example, as of June 2025, now this is a year ago, Amazon deployed more than one million robots across its global operations network.
- 28:24So the robotic workforce uh is is really.
- 28:24So the robotic workforce is really starting to outpace human employees for these big huge companies.
- 28:34And that's another reason why I'm all for supporting small businesses.
- 28:41Because what we see this kind of growth in efficiency.
- 28:49Big companies that they they're not obviously not going to hire a million people.
- 28:54If they can get robots to do it a lot more efficiently, work round the clock 24-7 and replace humans.
- 29:10And uh, so this is really important.
- 29:12But this is another thing that's added to the to the AI push.
- 29:16Because artificial intelligence is built into these robotics, and that's part of why this industry is taken off like crazy.
- 29:25So we really got to be aware of this and realize like there's certain jobs that AI can't replace.
- 29:34Uh, tons of jobs that AI can't replace.
- 29:36I think there's this big fear that AI is going to take over everybody's jobs and that they're, you know, they're uh they're gonna be out of work because of AI, and so they they they fear something that they don't know, and people give up even trying.
- 29:51So say that they lose a job for whatever reason, uh, or their job becomes stagnant, their pay becomes stagnant.
- 30:02People fear looking for other jobs, and they remain trapped because they're under the misconception that artificial intelligence is going to take all of our jobs.
- 30:12That's simply not true.
- 30:14There are many jobs that artificial intelligence will never be able to replace.
- 30:20So we have to look at where those jobs are.
- 30:24We have to do our homework, we have to do our research.
- 30:27And if we're not willing to do that, we can't be surprised whenever we're having a hard time finding jobs.
- 30:35So you have to look for opportunity, and also, I mean, if if employers are not out there that that you feel are a good fit, or the hours don't fit, or things just don't, it just doesn't add up, and whatever it is, for whatever reason, these jobs just aren't gonna work.
- 30:55Start a business.
- 30:58And I know I make that sound really easy.
- 31:01It's not as easy as it sounds.
- 31:04Believe me.
- 31:06Uh my daughter is finding that out.
- 31:08Starting a business is not as easy as clicking your heels.
- 31:13It's hard work.
- 31:15It's really, really hard work.
- 31:18However, it can be done.
- 31:20And there's ample opportunity for people.
- 31:23And that's this is the point that I'm trying to make here.
- 31:26There's ample opportunity for people.
- 31:29Again, 500,000 new electricians will be needed in the next two years.
- 31:36This is right now, they're looking for them.
- 31:40500,000 new electricians.
- 31:44Uh it makes me want to go out and learn this trade.
- 31:49I mean, honestly, it's such a high-paying job, such a good job.
- 31:56And it's it's not something that it's beyond reach, and nobody can learn these jobs.
- 32:04It's not a job where if you're in your 50s, you're like, well, I just I can't learn a new trade.
- 32:10Yes, you can.
- 32:12You absolutely can learn a new trade.
- 32:15100%.
- 32:18And a lot of people just give up.
- 32:20And I really don't want Americans to give up.
- 32:25When there's this much opportunity looking us right in the literal eye.
- 32:30I don't want Americans to give up.
- 32:32I don't want them to buy into that narrative that the economy is crashing, that the stock market's crashing, that everything's doomed, that all of our jobs are susceptible to artificial intelligence.
- 32:43I don't want us to buy into those lies.
- 32:47Now, again, I I would I would urge caution because there are some jobs where people naively think, oh, well, these jobs will be around forever.
- 32:58And then they come to find out that artificial intelligence does take those jobs.
- 33:03So you need to have an awareness.
- 33:07And I would say to young people going into college, know what jobs are vulnerable to our artificial intelligence.
- 33:17You have to know that going in.
- 33:19And here's the dirty little secret.
- 33:23Your college isn't going to tell you.
- 33:26They're not going to try to talk you out of getting a degree.
- 33:29It's their job to talk you into getting any degree that they offer, especially one that they might see in the near future is a particular particular degree that's doomed.
- 33:44They're going to try to get as many people as possible to get into these degrees to milk as much money out of college students as possible before they have to lay off those professors and stop that degree.
- 33:58So don't ask your college, oh, what jobs are susceptible to artificial intelligence.
- 34:05No, do your own homework.
- 34:07Do your own homework and find out.
- 34:11Because I promise you, there are jobs that are susceptible.
- 34:15I mean, it's we're seeing that.
- 34:17Look at Amazon.
- 34:18We're seeing it in real time.
- 34:22So it's up to us to be educated.
- 34:24It's up to us to do our own homework.
- 34:27But uh, here we go.
- 34:30Education and health services, as I mentioned, those jobs wide open.
- 34:35Uh electricians, wide open, plumbers, wide open, construction workers, wide open.
- 34:42I'm actually listening to beeping in the background.
- 34:45You probably can't hear it here.
- 34:46I hope you can't hear it.
- 34:48But there's beeping on the background.
- 34:50My road is closed right now because there's major construction going on.
- 34:56There are tons and tons and tons of workers that are just swarming the neighborhood.
- 35:00Just swarming the neighborhood.
- 35:03And this is happening all over America.
- 35:03And this is happening all over America.
- 35:07That's a good thing.
- 35:07That's a good thing.
- 35:08It's great.
- 35:08It's great.
- 35:09They're putting in storm storm drains, by the way.
- 35:09They're putting in storm storm drains, by the way.
- 35:13Uh, okay, how about wage growth?
- 35:14Okay, how about wage growth?
- 35:15Wage growth in April slowed slightly from last month.
- 35:15Wage growth in April slowed slightly from last month.
- 35:20People staying in their roles saw their pay climb 4.4% from the prior year.
- 35:20People staying in their roles saw their pay climb 4.4% from the prior year.
- 35:26Man, I wish my pay climbed 4.4%.
- 35:26Man, I wish my pay climbed 4.4%.
- 35:29Uh well.
- 35:29Uh, while pay gains for those changing their jobs remain steady at 6.6%.
- 35:36So people who change their jobs averaged a 6.6% increase in pay.
- 35:44So here, I guess is another another more of the story is it pays to switch jobs.
- 35:53Uh, if you see better opportunity, don't stay stuck.
- 36:00And I talk about this very often.
- 36:04Uh my pay is not that great.
- 36:09Trust me when I say people in ministry, especially at small churches, it's not that great a pay.
- 36:16That's not a complaint, that's a reality.
- 36:20Uh, I know people who stay because they feel obligated to stay.
- 36:25I happen to stay because I like my job.
- 36:28I like my church, I like the people.
- 36:30I I like everything about it.
- 36:34And so for me, that was a personal decision.
- 36:36But I know people who they stay, they're miserable, they hate their job, they they they don't like the people or the the place of business or their employers or whatever it is, and they stay stuck for years.
- 36:51Don't do that.
- 36:53There is plenty of opportunity out there.
- 36:56This is all good news.
- 36:57I I hope you find this encouraging.
- 36:59We're coming up on another break here.

- 38:46Jobs, jobs, jobs.
- 38:47Jobs are being added all over the place.
- 38:50And the jobs report was really good for the month of April.
- 38:55April was a booming month for the U.S.
- 38:59economy.
- 38:59And that's good news.
- 39:00That's great news.
- 39:01That's fantastic news.
- 39:03This is news that we all need to hear.
- 39:07Because quite frankly, we hear a lot of negative news.
- 39:12I think that we get so accustomed to hearing bad news that we often forget that there's actually good things that happen out there.
- 39:23Right?
- 39:23We hear bad news all the time.
- 39:25It's the the economy's bad, stock market's bad, your retirement accounts are screwed.
- 39:31On and on and on it goes.
- 39:32We hear this bad news constantly.
- 39:34There is a constant barrage of bad news that's coming from a whole lot of different sources.
- 39:44And so we need to take a step back and we need to look at reality.
- 39:48Take a look at what's actually happening.
- 39:50Well, according to the ADP, um, we have incredible job growth.
- 39:57And the future looks really bright.
- 40:02This from Heather Long, chief economist at the Navy Federal Credit Union says the U.S.
- 40:10labor market appears to be stabilizing.
- 40:13That's the first step in a recovery.
- 40:16Job gains in April were the strongest since January 2025, according to ADP.
- 40:24Even smaller firms that were hit hard by tariffs last year are finally hiring again.
- 40:30Healthcare is still responsible for the majority of hiring.
- 40:34But a few other industries are starting to add head count as well.
- 40:39The official April jobs report on Friday is likely to show solid job gains and potentially a drop in the unemployment rate.
- 40:49So this uh actually uh what is it today?
- 40:54The um farm payroll comes out.
- 41:00I haven't looked, I haven't looked to see what the non farm payroll is, but that's always a big number that people watch for too.
- 41:08But these are positive directions for the United States, even when the non-form payroll number is down, um typically from month to month, it it fluctuates, and so I don't get too concerned when I see the non farm payroll be a little bit negative.
- 41:26Because overall, looking at the big picture, looking at a whole bunch of different areas, the U.S.
- 41:32economy is absolutely banging.
- 41:34It is doing really good, and that, my friends, is good news for America.
- 41:39That's good news for all of us.
- 41:40That's good news for people looking for jobs.
- 41:43That's good news for people who feel stuck at their jobs and they're looking for better opportunity.
- 41:49That's good news for young people who are going into and choosing a career path.
- 41:54That's good news for people who want to move to another state just for the heck of moving to another state.
- 42:00Another state.
- 42:01I mean, this is all around good news.
- 42:01I mean, this is all around good news.
- 42:03There are ample jobs available.
- 42:03There are ample jobs available.
- 42:07And again, we keep hearing this lie that there are no jobs, no jobs available, life is tough, life sucks.
- 42:07And again, we keep hearing this lie that there are no jobs, no jobs available, life is tough, life sucks, life is life is miserable.
- 42:14Life is life is miserable.
- 42:16Trump is making it terrible for everybody.
- 42:16Trump is making it terrible for everybody.
- 42:18And we have to look at the bigger picture.
- 42:18And we have to look at the bigger picture, and I know this is really hard to do whenever we feel current pressure.
- 42:20And I know this is really hard to do whenever we feel current pressure.
- 42:27We feel the current pressure with.
- 42:27We feel the current pressure with uh I'll be very open and honest about it, but our utilities.
- 42:37Right?
- 42:37The utilities are squeezing Americans.
- 42:42The gas pump, squeezing Americans.
- 42:46The cost of vehicles.
- 42:49Insanely stupidly high.
- 42:53The cost of housing.
- 42:56That's up.
- 42:58So we've got to look at that too and kind of weigh all these different things and say, well, all right, uh, everything's going up, but it's not any different than in any time in America's history, right?
- 43:12There's we have it so much better right now than stay during the Great Depression.
- 43:19And believe me, I'm not saying like we're just a little notch above the Great Depression because I think we are way, way, way, way, way better off.
- 43:28Way better.
- 43:29We're not anywhere close to what it was like during the Great Depression.
- 43:34So we've got to look at the big picture.
- 43:38And the big picture is that things are actually really good here in America, that job job growth is steady, that there are ample jobs available, that career fields are wide open, that we're doing quite well on the economic stage.
- 44:01Uh everything is good.
- 44:04Most everything is good.
- 44:06But it's really hard to see that.
- 44:08It's really hard to see that when there's a combination of two things.
- 44:11One, a negative narrative that gives an outlook based on emotion.
- 44:17And we've got to be very careful not to be emotional about these things, but to look at the actual numbers.
- 44:24I like numbers because numbers don't lie.
- 44:27That's why math is really important.
- 44:30Looking at the job numbers, the actual job numbers, it's really important.
- 44:37So we've got to look at those numbers, and we've got to we've got to get the bigger picture for the American economy.
- 44:44And that number is it's it's all the numbers point in a really positive direction.
- 44:51So I never encourage us to listen to politicians who are painting a different narrative.
- 44:59Right?
- 45:00We've got to look at the actual jobs numbers.
- 45:05And we when we look at that, when we look at the big picture, America is probably in the past the best position worldwide.
- 45:19And that's really good news.
- 45:20Again, it goes back to this idea well, people want to leave the country.
- 45:23Well, for what?
- 45:24Where are you going to go?
- 45:27Europe's economy isn't anywhere near what our economy's like.
- 45:33Uh now the Supreme Court dropped the tariffs.
- 45:38And since then, things have been doing pretty good.
- 45:42They've been doing quite well.
- 45:45Even during the tariffs, the economy was still doing pretty well.
- 45:49But now that those tariffs have dropped, I think a lot of a lot of questions.
- 45:54There was a lot of uncertainty, and that was certainly hitting the markets.
- 45:58I mean, Trump flip-flopped so many times.
- 46:03He was constantly flip-flopping, and it caused a lot of instability within the market.
- 46:10But now the tariffs that the Supreme Court ruled.
- 46:14The tariffs were not constitutional, whether you agree with that or not.
- 46:18That's that was the Supreme Court's decision, and so it is what it is.
- 46:24But ever since then, um job opportunities abound.
- 46:31They really, really abound.
- 46:34And I think that's really incredible good news.
- 46:38And we need to take advantage of that.
- 46:41Young people take heed.
- 46:43Take advantage of the job opportunities that are out there.
- 46:49Uh, I was looking at just recently, I was talking, I was talking to somebody uh locally here, and they were talking about their teenage kid, and and she's not really sure what she wants to do for work, and uh he didn't really want her to settle, and I was like, well, you know, we have the resorts here.
- 47:12They start no matter what position you take.
- 47:15No, it doesn't matter.
- 47:17You can be a waitress, no matter what position you take, you can wash dishes, whatever position you take, the absolute bare minimum starting pay is $20 an hour with benefits.
- 47:37That's on the low end.
- 47:40And I said, I would encourage your kid, and they're always hiring, they're always looking for work.
- 47:44I look at their website just because I I like know what's out there.
- 47:50We have a lot of people who we help locally who are struggling financially, and I'm shocked at how many people never know that these jobs are available.
- 47:58I'm like, have you looked at have you looked at uh Vail Resorts?
- 48:03Have you looked at what's available?
- 48:05And like, no, we didn't even know that they were hiring.
- 48:08I'm like, they're always hiring.
- 48:12So a lot of people don't even know that these jobs are out there, and they're really good paying jobs.
- 48:18And it just blows my mind because people buy into this narrative that we're doomed, that we're doing really bad, that the economy is bad, there are no jobs, there are never any jobs available.
- 48:27I I I've lost count of the amount of people who've told me with confidence there are no jobs out there.
- 48:34I've talked to homeless people who are fully able and supposedly willing to work.
- 48:41And I said, have you have you applied here, here, and here?
- 48:45Oh no, they're not hiring.
- 48:47I'm like, what are you talking about?
- 48:51Literally, when you drive by or walk by or ride a bicycle by, they have a big honking sign that says, now hiring.
- 49:00Now hiring.
- 49:03It's like people buy this narrative that oh, nobody's hiring, or nobody would hire me.
- 49:03It's like people buy this narrative that, oh, nobody's hiring, or nobody would hire me.
- 49:11Says who are you even trying?
- 49:11Says who are you even trying?
- 49:18Did you even try in the least bit?
- 49:18Did you even try in the least bit?
- 49:22There are jobs available.
- 49:22There are jobs available, and the trades, I I still go back to this the idea of the trades.
- 49:24And the trades, I still go back to this, the idea of the trades.
- 49:29That I think we are failing our young people miserably in the schools by teaching them that college is the only answer.
- 49:38I love the schools.
- 49:40And in fact, next week, maybe I'll highlight a couple more, a couple more schools that are doing this.
- 49:46But there are schools in the United States that are taking a shift away from indoctrinating kids to say that the only way you're ever going to make it in life is to go to college.
- 49:56And they're actually doing trainings at the school.
- 50:01They're training kids for the trades.
- 50:05They're teaching them to be welders.
- 50:14Instead of shipping them off to a separate vote.
- 50:19They build this into the school.
- 50:23And they take employers, owners of companies who actually do some of the training, and then they recruit these kids before they even graduate high school.
- 50:35They're recruiting these kids, and they're starting off making 30, 40 bucks an hour with benefits at 18 years old.
- 50:45I'm like, my goodness.
- 50:46And then eventually, like these kids can go on to start their own business.
- 50:53What an incredible gift to give the great kids of this nation.
- 50:59What an incredible gift.
- 51:01What an incredible opportunity.
- 51:04So when I say that we're the land of opportunity, I'm not saying that because I'm like hopelessly or helplessly optimistic.
- 51:14I'm saying that because I see the numbers.
- 51:18I'm saying that because I see what jobs are available.
- 51:20I'm saying that because I keep I keep reading the jobs reports.
- 51:25I know what's available.
- 51:28I know it's out there.
- 51:29I listen to Mike Rowe.
- 51:32Mike Rowe, out of anybody ought to know what the heck is available.
- 51:38There are very, very, very good lucrative jobs that are available.
- 51:44And I'm not talking a couple jobs.
- 51:46I'm talking millions of jobs.
- 51:49There are millions of vacancies right now.
- 51:53Jobs that are just waiting for people to step into those roles.
- 51:58And so we need to be talking about this.
- 52:00We need to have open, real conversations about this.
- 52:05We need to be talking to our kids about this.
- 52:09And we need to stop buying this narrative.
- 52:14That America is somehow doomed because of whoever we have in office.
- 52:18I really could care less who we have as president of the United States.
- 52:25Sometimes we we succeed in spite of whoever's in office.
- 52:32But here's the point.
- 52:34America always has and always will succeed.
- 52:40That's who we are.
- 52:42That's our identity.
- 52:45We are a nation of hard working succeeders.
- 52:51Not sus eaters.
- 52:54Succeeders.
- 52:55We succeed.
- 52:58We grind.
- 53:00We uh we we grit our teeth.
- 53:05We put our heads down, we move forward, we figure it out.
- 53:09The American spirit of figure outism is incredible.
- 53:15People figure it out.
- 53:18They figure out how to move forward.
- 53:20We figure out how to build bridges, we figure out how to build skyscrapers and how to how to fix a broken health system, how to cure diseases.
- 53:30We're figuring out how to cure diseases right now.
- 53:35Like at unprecedented rates, like nothing we've never seen before.
- 53:41It's absolutely incredible.
- 53:45And I think it's an inspiring time for us to live, to be alive, to partake of the fruits of a growing economy.
- 53:59It is absolutely a blessing to be an American.
- 54:04We have the song, right?
- 54:05I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free.
- 54:11Maybe we should have a little bit more pride.
- 54:15Maybe we should ignore the people who get angry when people actually have a little bit of pride in their nation.
- 54:22I remember a time when people weren't like, oh, these nationalists.
- 54:29How dare they be proud of our nation?
- 54:31I remember a time when Democrats, Republicans, independence, green party, everybody was proud to be an American.
- 54:38We're all proud.
- 54:42And I long for those days.
- 54:44I think they can come back.
- 54:46I really do think that we're on the brink of something really incredible here in this nation.
- 54:54As I mentioned with Corey Brooks, Pastor Corey Brooks, uh, just a couple of days ago.
