0:01
[upbeat music] Just wanna let that play for the entirety.
0:19
[laughs] It would be three minutes and 30 seconds of just gyrations. [laughs] I'll dance around like a Boston, the hype guy. Hey. Hey, welcome everybody to the Full Spectrum Cycling Show, this being show number 257.
0:35
Whoa. Oh, getting old. Uh, eh. I, I don't know who Carol is, but- Carol? Carol? I don't know. Oh, Carol. Apparently, I don't know, somebody has a number- Tell me when you're coming home... it must be similar to mine.
0:50
[laughs] Keep calling Carol? No. Somebody... It's, she just says, "I am at Pearson Keefe. What is your address?" Carol. I don't know who she is. I'm interested in buying your property.
0:59
Maybe you should give her an address- I, please get in touch with me... and find out. Tell her to come over. I don't know. I would, it would take button-pushing and whatnots.
1:09
We'll have to deal with this in 29 minutes from now. Mm-hmm. Got a, got a little pre, a preemie here. This is a- [laughs]... little pre-show beer from, uh, our buddies over at Tomorfic.
1:22
Best beer in River West right now, I'm sorry. Yep. There's no way you can get- I'm sorry. Now the company's closed and- Right... other people are whatever. [laughs] Shitty.
1:30
That said, a little bit later, we do have another River West Brewery. Although, it's really... I, isn't, isn't that downtown where Lakefront is? It's on the west side of the river. That's a, that's- I know. Tech-...
1:39
they do- They started in River West... they do- Wait a second. Technically- They started in River West... it's on the north side of the river is where it actually is. [laughs] That is true. True, true. Yeah.
1:48
I, yes- But they did also, they did start in River West... right down the street. That is right. And they do make a mean beer. Don't get me wrong. Right. But a Tomorfic's really- That's when they had-...
1:55
kicking everyone's ass... that's when they had the fun, the fun tour at that one. I rem- That was the best... you know, it's- Two bucks. Here's a cup. Yeah. Drink up. Yeah.
2:03
Drink until you don't wanna drink anymore, or until the next tour comes. Here's where we brew it. Or until- Here's where we drink it. Go. Yeah. Or until Larry, Curly or Moe is empty. Right.
2:11
Something, something like that. It was way... Yeah, that's right. [laughs] That's what they did call it originally. So if I'm not mistaken, was it where the Seven Swans crappery is? Mm-hmm.
2:20
No, it was in the same building that- Same building as-... Scardino's is... Scardino's is. Okay. Yeah, so right through the alley of that first place. Right. Which if they'd still been- I knew it was close by...
2:26
in that shit hole, they would have been shut down because that building is condemned. Is condemned. [laughs] Thank you, Carson. Right on. For driving that into the ground. I don't even know where to start this week.
2:37
There's, I mean, there's a lot of stuff to talk about. Okay. I think- Thing number one, though... getting a little frantic. I'm- I just wanna say-... I'm so excited. I'm like, "Gee, did they do a bike boy?"
2:44
I just wanna say one thing. I'm so excited. [laughs] And I can't hide. The, the Wu-Tang bike is gone. Ah. Ah. Somebody bought it? Somebody bought it. At least it wasn't stolen. [laughs] No, not like the other one. Right.
2:55
[laughs] I was like- I do still keep my eye out for that-... like, damn it... yellow one that is- I was like, "Again?" 'Cause that did come up just recently in the memories.
3:01
Oh, and that's been a year already or whatever? Or, or one or two. Murf. Wow. Uh, yeah. A lady was... I, they were up here for some reason from Northern Illinois, and her son,
3:12
younger kid, learned a lesson about his previous bike. [laughs] Got stolen. Which fortunately was a little small for him anyway, so boom. Yeah. Yeah. So that's rolling down the road somewhere down there.
3:24
I said, "Make sh..."
3:25
And the, I, the guy that was with him was, is a cop down there, so he hopefully knows enough to at least write the serial number down, if not- And write it in, record it in- If not, to go to bikeindex.org where I would- Should be...
3:39
you know who's... I think I have one bike in there, Mike. Oh, I have a bunch. I think my fat bike's in there. I should probably put every bike I have in there. [laughs] Well, I have quite a few of them in there now.
3:47
Yeah. Yeah, I have quite a few. But it's a good, I mean, it's a good thing.
3:49
Bikeindex.org is a database of your bike and everybody else's hopefully, and most police departments use that as their kinda default database now if something gets stolen.
4:01
I've even heard stories of bikes that were stolen here recovered in Portland. Yeah, I have too. Like- [laughs]... or wherever, far away from here, so.
4:09
There's definitely some organized crime involved in high-end bicycles. Oregon-ized? Not Wisconsin, Oregon, but Oregon out there on the West Coast. Yeah, that's what I meant. [laughs] Oregon-ized crime. Oh, you-
4:23
Oh, that's pretty good. You can do that. This is why you have a v- first of all, this is why you have a show with Ken Keene because- [laughs]... maybe he'll get your off the- Rapid fire wordplay like that-...
4:31
kilter of-... just doesn't come net and... zinging right over my brain area 'cause- [laughs] I'll slow it down- Yes, thank you... on ether... very much, Rabbit. [laughs] It's a great episode. I know, right?
4:46
There, you're gonna get your, uh, cultural, uh, phenomenon, uh- Do, do, do, do, do... illusions on the show tonight. Phenomenon. Do, do, do, do.
4:53
Uh, this morning dropping off Daniel, one of the other parents mentioned that their kid knows the theme song to Scooby-Doo. He's like, "Someone taught him that." I'm like, "Ah, I'm gonna plead guilty for that."
5:02
Does it go, "Tra, la, la, la, la, la, la?" No, thank God it does not. That's Banana Splits. That's Banana Splits. It does not. [laughs] I actually had that vinyl from the back of a cereal box. Mm-hmm. Ah. Yeah.
5:13
You peel it off the box- Those were the days... and throw it on your 45. That was so, that was so- Those were the days... they should do that again. That was the greatest thing since sliced bread.
5:20
I still have the CDs, Saturday Mornings, or Saturday, la, la, la, Saturday Morning Cartoons Greatest Hits, all the covers. Is that the one with all the Wisconsin- Did you say hits or something else?...
5:30
people that did the covers? It's got some, but it- Not kids from Wisconsin... it- Is that got like- It's got-... "I'm Just a Bill"? No. Yes? Okay. That's, uh, Sesame Street stuff, man.
5:39
No, this is, uh- No, that was a electric company... well, The Fems, The Fems do, uh- No. Sesame Street... Eep Op, Orkah, That Means I Love You is by The Fems, so tech- Okay... technically, yeah.
5:47
I heard they're back together. But then they do, like, Gigantor. I heard they're doing a tour. [sighs] Well- One- Richie and Gano maybe... two, two thirds of them are doing a tour I heard it's the whole group again.
5:57
And Victor? I heard Victor De Lorenzo's with them. I saw a, a set. I, it's been like two weeks, but I saw a post on it All right Maybe they've- Digressing from the list All right, back to the list Victor DiLorenzo.
6:07
[laughs] I- He's awesome. I love him... I rode my bike, I rode my bike to many a either 1913 Victor DiLorenzo solo or Violent Femmes shows. The 19- Me too... 13 is badass. Yeah, they are.
6:18
Putting it all back into the bike realm, it's back. It's a fantastic show. There you go. It's a fantastic show. As long as it says something about a bike in the show- I'm telling you... at some point.
6:26
We were just discussing with people pre-show over to the Amorphic about, "What's your show about?" And we're like- Huh... "After 257 episodes, you think we could tell you? But not really."
6:37
Bicycle- By the way, I, I listened to the episode-... and everything tangential... where I wasn't part of the, the show and- The pedal?...
6:44
that big pe- that big sexy show sounded like a real shit show as far as him breaking 10 spokes and- Oh, my God... hurt or tornado and- All right. So you know Red, our buddy Joe Schuler? Yeah, I know Joe. Okay.
6:57
So his- [laughs] I totally thought you were gonna talk some about Joe... I think it's his, if it's dad or his uncle maybe, has, like, an older, probably '60s- Oh...
7:05
Schwinn tricycle for sale for, like, a couple hundred bucks. I saw that. You sent it to me. And aren't we thinking that that's a better bike than- We have to. Oh, God... the piece of shit that comes out of
7:14
Amazon or where- He, he could probably go eight miles an hour on that. I'm just thinking he wouldn't break wheels- Right...
7:19
'cause they actually are probably made out of semi-quality-ish materials from back in the, you know- And handmade... the Chicago or I, it, I'm pretty sure it must have been made in Chicago.
7:30
But I'd at least like to check it out, and I'm almost gonna take a- Well, he's a Point guy, so [laughs] Yeah, I might take a trip up there and go up and see Schlabowski and, uh, you know, go right through there and check that thing out.
7:41
So who knows? Schlabowski jumped in my right pocket at the rollout. [laughs] I didn't even realize it was him, and I'm just like, "Oh, hello. Hello, sir. How are you?" Yeah. And I'm like, "Oh, it's you."
7:51
[laughs] Like- He was, he was down here to take care of his, uh, his daughter's- And Tony's house, right?... ostensibly take care of his daughter's dog and- Yeah... slash house.
7:59
And, uh, we also did kind of an Omnium overview video here, which he's already posted. I'm like, "Gee, don't, do, are, do you have like 28 hours in a day?" He lives up north. He's got nothing else to do.
8:10
Oh, that could be. [laughs] I do believe, I think, if I haven't, I did. I put a link in the show notes. It's actually pretty good.
8:18
It's about his bike as a dog packing bike and the MiniMax and the differences and blah, blah, blah. Um- I saw it posting, I just didn't have a chance to look at it... yeah, go ahead and check it out or, or don't.
8:29
Definitely. Either way. You do it before the show though? I had to work. I- Don't you see? I had to work. Is that work garb? Yes. Yes. I got no collar. But it's summery. I got no collar. [laughs] I want a collar.
8:39
Summery. But I also always, uh, keeping the tradition alive, another WMANC shirt. Oh. Every day this year so far. Nice. I got the polka ride today. That's a nice one. I like that. So, uh, I got another Omnium
8:55
MiniMax electric. You got a small one? I did. Where is it? It's in the other room. It's not- Is it rideable? Not yet. Oh, you fucker. I gotta, we gotta make it put together. Yeah.
9:06
But I, I think I mentioned this last week on the show with Zach. By the way, thanks, Zach, for being on the show. Yeah, absolutely. Uh, I think that actually he should be on the show more often 'cause good stuff.
9:15
Yeah, he's a good dude. Yeah, I, I think I mentioned it last week. I'm, like, right dead nuts on the dividing line between the two sizes. [laughs] I agree.
9:22
Gettin', getting your leg over that as the same height as you, yeah, I think the small might- Well, might... and the length might be just enough to reel it in a little. Maybe. Yeah, I don't know. And I, so I do want
9:35
bars with slightly more sweep too, which might mean longer stem or I don't know. I, we're gonna monkey with this stuff. Well, the longer sweep- But it-... you might wanna go with the medium.
9:46
[laughs] Yeah, just that I'm not quite sitting on... It's, I've got the traditional old school back when Schwinns were made in Chicago, one inch over the top tube. Gotcha.
9:56
But I like two or three inches over the top tube, and I especially like a top tube that has a drop to it, so my nads are protected. Hmm. Just in case. Why? What are you gonna use those for? Nothing. See? Anymore.
10:11
Me neither. Made kids. What do I have to... And now- I took care of that, man... if I, they, they'd just be getting me in trouble again. Right. Sean. Sean. Old neighbor Sean. Remember old neighbor Sean? My neighbor Sean?
10:23
He has a review on some fancy website that is about his- The new band?... the, the album Fates of Death, Stuck for Slaughter. That is awesome.
10:32
I liked when they played on the porch next to you during the 24, but that- Dude, he-... that wasn't Fates of Death at the point. No, no. But yeah. It's def- Sean's a great musician...
10:40
it's definitely death metal- Oh, yeah... influenced, if not full on death metal. Bludgeons the listener with combinations of riffs, groove, and moderate tempos, and a similar approach conducted by- Bludgeons...
10:52
current era master Asphyx and modern Carcass. Yes. [coughs] Bludgeons. That sounds like a death metal review. Oh, we gotta throw it on, but whatever. Uh, it's something- I did-... to check out.
11:01
I'm pretty sure we could use it as a theme song. He, I don't think he'd care. I'm sure he'd let us. [laughs] I saw the link on the social medias and whatever earlier today. He tagged me, and I- And I'm just like-...
11:09
forgot... I was like, "Oh- I love Sean... that's, that's the name of his band." But it- I, I, I love Sean a lot... I didn't put it together. I didn't You know what I love most? Him not being your neighbor anymore.
11:18
Exactly. [laughs] Not living next door to him. So apparently the drummer has a bunch of other projects, so he's trying to find somebody to actually go out and do shows with.
11:30
He's always seemed to have a little bit of an issue with- Was that the dude that had the double drum or the double, uh- It wasn't the dude who had the kit that looked bigger than Neil Peart's kit. And sounded terrible.
11:38
That guy? And probably sounded really good in his bedroom playing to Metallica- I doubt it... or something, but yeah, he couldn't play with a live band.
11:46
The only way he sounded good playing with Metallica is if he couldn't hear himself playing while listening to Metallica. That guy was terrible. He just couldn't- Actually-...
11:53
he couldn't- He was better- It was cringe-worthy it was so bad... better, better than Lars. [laughs] Zing. Oh. Oh. [laughs] Fuck Lars, man. I am serious. I've had up to here with you, Lars.
12:08
Wait, do you hear the Lars Hello-copter coming? [laughs] Disparaging words. We- if we were live streaming, I'd, I'd be a lot more worried right now. [laughs] Here comes Lars. Piss on a turd.
12:21
Hey, so what did you, uh, what'd you have going on at the old Bayview Gallery night rollout thing? Even though I know I was with you, but what'd you think? Um, it's always a good time. It always is.
12:33
It depends on what crew you latch onto and what you end up doing. If you volunteer, you know, you're always gonna volunteer and it'll be fun no matter what you're gonna do.
12:46
I try to alternate year, like be a participant one year, volunteer the other. This was sort of a half a year because the volunteerism wasn't really that hard. No. Well, it doesn't have to be.
12:58
Sometimes it's all just works out. It was actually- And it worked out. I mean, I was- And thank God I could escort you on the- Yeah... task that you were assigned.
13:06
[laughs] Yeah, I mean, I, yeah, I was like, "Hey, I'm here to help out." "Okay, well can you take a stamp over to one of the stops?" Sure. Yes. Uh- Which was that big-ass house- Yeah... on KK. The, the zombie house?
13:19
Oh, yeah. Oh, man. Oh, nice. That... What is it called, Ferndale, Vilbernsteinville or something? Fern- well, yeah, the Google Map assigned it to c- calling it Ferndale, which sounds like a- It's with a huge lawn. Yeah.
13:33
But I mean, Ferndale sounds like a- Has to have been one of the first- Like an old-... houses in the area... well, it sounds like an old time, like sanitarium or something. [laughs] Like- Sanitarium...
13:41
and it's a big weird freaky house. Or a brothel. It's a big weird freaky house. It must have been- It wouldn't surprise me if it was like a home- But just how it-... a home for the nervous. [laughs] Right. Or something.
13:49
[laughs] How it's, how it's situated up there, I would say- It's a weird, weird situation... it, it would've been the first building built in that area. Yeah. I'm sure- But now it's Studio K Flamenco and it's a- Really?
14:02
Oh, they had, uh, what do they call those maraca thingies? Canest- Costanza. What? C- Costanzas. Costanzas. [laughs] Cas- Casonita? No. What the hell are those called? Canastas. Canastas. It's called a canasta.
14:16
[laughs] I don't think it is, is it? I'm calling it that. Okay. I'll go with that. Castania maybe. [laughs] Castania. Radio viewers- I think there's a tilde... let us know. There's a tilde over it.
14:24
And- I believe that was one of the tasks you had to play them to. Yeah. And then they had the box that you sit on and you thump on it. Oh, I like those.
14:31
And I thought the box was broken, but it actually has like strings inside the box- Oh, yeah, it does... that kind of vibrate. I'm like, "What's going on here?" Yeah. It was cool. They're fun. Yeah. Yeah. It was cool.
14:40
Yeah. And they were kinda freaked out 'cause they thought we were- That's prodigal son Josh's tune... 'cause we were there early. We were there like,
14:46
we got up there before 6:00 or about 6:00 and the rollout itself started at 6:00 but their event didn't start till 6:30, so they were starting to fra- like get frantic.
14:55
Yeah, well, they should have because they were behind- And I was just-... the eight ball... I was just like, "Well, they have a half hour." I was like, "Oh no, no, no.
15:01
I o- I'm only here to drop off the stamp and get my breath." I will... Yeah, I think they would've- 'Cause I had to deal with the damn headwind... I think they would've fucked off for another 20 minutes though...
15:09
end up in your [censored] driveway. And there was no sneak attack. You had to come up the driveway. [laughs] There was no, there was no sneak a toke either which would've been interesting.
15:18
[laughs] And then the rest of the time was, well, via Bill was saying, "Oh, why don't you just go over to mothership and assist and hang out with, uh, Jeff?" El Rongo Jeff. Yeah. Oh, I can do that. Which we did.
15:29
Which we did. And true to form because it was one of the closest ones to the end of the event, about 10 minutes before the end of the event lots and lots of people showed up- Oh, yeah...
15:40
to do the task which was to take a postcard kinda thingy that was blank on the front, do some artwork on it, which some was really cool. Yeah. Very.
15:49
Put that one in unaddressed into a pile and then take one out of the pile of already done ones- And address it... put somebody's address on that- Cool... and send that off to wherever it would go. Yeah.
15:59
Oh, that's awesome. Yeah, it was a good idea. I like that idea. And delivery date TBD. Which- Never, you never know when it's gonna come. Which, yeah, right. Exactly. [laughs] That's awesome.
16:09
But yeah, it was a great time. And it was funny too 'cause it was kind of a test of wills where [laughs] where Jeff's like, "Well, it, I, it's technically over.
16:20
[laughs] I should be closing up shop here but all right, I'll let you go." You know? Scanlan? Yeah. Yeah. Well- It was funny. I, it was like- I don't know- He'll cut you a little slack...
16:29
I don't know where the real like hard line came. It's like if you didn't get back to the start finish by the end time were you penalized or- No, I think- I- it's a pretty loosey-goosey thing...
16:37
it was like 8:00, 8:00, by 8:30 you had to, by 8:30 you had to get your raffle tickets. Oh, copy that. Oh, then that was plenty of time.
16:46
So it was a scavenger, however many stamps you got, that's how many tickets you got and then you win your- Prizes from there... yeah, you get your little, you know, hamburger-
16:55
Look at you guys almost done with your beer... well, ring a dingy. Spea- speaking of, uh, Bayview I'm gonna give a shout out to Sam D. A little ring a dingy. Sam D was on the thing? Sam, Sam D- Yeah...
17:04
he, he, uh, was, so he came over to our house and he saw that Molly was planting hostas and he's like, "I have to dig out some hostas. Do you want them?" Do you want more hostas? Not anymore.
17:18
Or day lilies or any- I'd take some day lilies but- I got day lilies that are-... but I have to tell you-... creeping into my yard... I have to tell you- I will take all of your rhubarb...
17:24
I filled my entire Fiat- I have... You know how big my rhubarb gets too, right? I, I don't know. It's large rhubarb. They get gi- yeah, they're gigantic. I will take some of that. I got ginormous rhubarb.
17:33
I will take some of- You know why I think? I can take some of that off your hands. Because that's where all the pumpkins go to die- Oh, that's great fertilizer... at the end of Halloween.
17:39
It goes right into the rhubarb patch. And they come up like a phoenix of rhubarb. Yeah. Sam, um, gave- Usually my neighbor steals it all but, mm, maybe you come over there and grab it before him. Grab it.
17:50
Grab it before stocks rise. Oh, you come over there and get that rhubarb. That's right. The stems are mine. Sam, Sam gave us an entire Fiat, a big Fiat, which is a joke I know, full of hostas, giant leaf hostas.
18:03
One of them called striptease. Hair- He has a lot of nice plants in his backyard... he has a, for such a small yard that dude's got it going on. But it's all so nicely done too. Yeah. It's like wow.
18:13
You know he works with those little tiny figures too. Yep. He's getting glasses, he told me. He's gotta go get glasses- Well, he has tiny figures... 'cause he can't work on his figures anymore. Those are... He does...
18:21
What is he doing for it? It's some kind of game. It's a, it's a game. Uh, one of his- It's some... But they're very small... one of his games. Yep. And I always see heads and arms and feet and torsos. It is so detailed.
18:30
It is insane. Yeah. And they're all- He's, he's hardcore... completely original and nobody else has one like- Hand painted-... whatever he makes... everything. Yeah. It's cool. And he's hardcore about it. It's gorgeous.
18:39
Right on. Yeah. [bell rings] Oh, oh, we got a, a tap, tap, tap. Speaking of winning little bells, what should we call it? That's what people were winning, were little bells. So- And that was the top of the hill bell...
18:49
Bill won a hamburger bell. I did. [laughs] That's why I'm thinking of the bells. You have a hamburger bell? I do. Did you get a hamburger bell? Not from that event, but I have won one in the past that is- Oh, right on...
19:01
sitting right above desk. I think Cyclist Choice is the house brand for Olympic Supply with whom I used to work back in the olden times. Uh-oh. I, I wanna put it in this cup, but... I'm not.
19:13
I'm drinking it straight from the can. All right. So JK- Oh, actually that's not a bad idea... JK picked up this, um, Lakefront Brewery, they do a thing called My Turn. Apparently this is the...
19:24
Z51 means the 51st one they've done. I can only imagine. I- I would think. I mean, our friend Colin, who's 10 years gone- That's what it says, My Turn Series 51...
19:32
or eight years gone from Milwaukee, had one way back in the day. That punk ass. Punk ass bitches. Um- Never calls in, never does, gives us the time of day. Well- Fuck you, Colin...
19:42
pretty sure he'll- Until you call in, then I love you... pretty sure he'll call in [laughs] next week now. Right. [laughs] I know he listens to the show. He's our listener.
19:48
I'm pinching him in the ass every time I see him. So anyway, uh, people that work at the brewery get to, they get their chance to do a brew of their choosing and/or design, and this is Jake.
19:58
He's the cellar master, I believe, is what I've understand. I believe- Cellar, cellar. Cellar. Yeah. It says on the thing here, cellar operator is the term- Cellar operator...
20:09
that is actually utilized in Jake's description- Guy's got a killer beard if this picture's real... of his job. Yeah. Oh, yes. Yeah. And speaking of reels, he's fishing. So, eh. Yeah. See how, see how I did that?
20:18
Oh, look at that. You did that well. So it's Sommer S with a umlaut. Umlauts. We have umlauts. Umlaut. Apparently it's like a cousin of a Maybach. Momer, Mom- Momer Fest. It's a golden malty liquid.
20:32
Sweet Munich-style lager. A beer garden treat. Don't see where it tells me how boozaholy it is. I don't think there's particularly boozy beer. I'm like- Um, I think it's 5.8... 'cause your...
20:44
Yeah, your typical German beer garden- Yeah... people wanna stay there for a long time and don't wanna get- Oh, it's cute... completely blotto. Please recycle me. I want to come back. [laughs] Coulda left off the back.
20:54
Be fine. Yeah, he- Zing. Yeah, this is a guy, he works, uh, occasionally as security as well down at the ye olde Nomad where he- Oh, all right... he used to, he used to- Okay. Yeah. All right. Okay.
21:05
I d- it's not like I thought that I knew him, but I s- maybe saw his visage- Yeah... somewhere in the past. Yeah. And he's a very avid fisherman. Oh, that's drinkable. Very avid. Very avid. [laughs] Fisherman? Yeah.
21:16
Oh, yeah. Yeah. And he's got two pooches that are- Pooches that poach... very cool. I don't know these pooches. How come I don't know these pooches? Lucy and... I can't remember the other one.
21:25
She's got some 'splaining to do. She's got- Yeah... some 'splaining to do. Yeah. He's always hanging at Caddish and then going down and hitting the river. So I couldn't figure out- Casting a line...
21:33
I, you know, I, I ride pretty much the same route daily to take Daniel to school, and lately we go through Grant Park, and there's four vehicles that are already parked there, always parked there. Gordon Park. Thank you.
21:47
Gordon Park. Grand Park's... Yeah, if you went to Grand Park- [laughs] That was like- He'd be-... you'd be, you'd be doing a r- a long ride... I'm like, you are pushing the button. We're taking the long way.
21:52
Yeah, you're taking, pushing the button. [laughs] So we see these same four cars, and they're not homeless people sleeping in their cars. So like one's a Tesla, one's a super high-end Toyota, et cetera.
22:04
Got goddamn $800 fly rods down on our river, don't they? Well, yeah. I was riding by one day earlier, and I see these guys unloading, like, gear, and I'm like, "Oh my God, these four guys are here every day to fish."
22:17
Oh, shit. Well, since they took all the damn dams out of the damn river- Damn it... they got some decent fish in there now. Right. And it's also flushed out pretty well, so they're not inedible.
22:27
Oh, and I think on, um, this Jake's Face place, he had a video of them seeding or feeding the river with- Yeah.
22:38
Well, neighbor Sean- A boatload, a boatload of fish to s- Well, neighbor Sean said they also fed, uh, the, the Estabrook Park pond. Delicious bass. Oh, yeah.
22:49
You know that, that po- he's like, it's- That's one of the few places in Milwaukee that you don't need a fishing license- Is that right?... to fish in. He captures and re- I believe... he catches and releases there.
22:57
He's like, it's incredibly fun to take a kid to because there's so many fish there now. They just bite, you catch them, pull them off the hook, throw them back. You know what they need there?
23:05
More herons, because herons love fish. Yeah, they do. And I'd b- I'd love to watch herons eat them fish. Whapow, whapow. Yeah, that would be cool. There's nothing like a snowy egret.
23:14
As a non-fish eater, I would love to watch the f- birds eat the fish. I, yeah, I, I'll eat ocean fish some. I'll eat a tuna if it's caught 10 feet from me- Yeah... which is what I did last time I ate tuna.
23:27
There you go, in Costa Rica. Yeah. Yeah. And then Cleo stole it. Damn, damn girl. Damn kids.
23:32
I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but it's been in the show notes for, like, a month, and I probably mentioned it, but if I didn't, I forgot. Grin.
23:40
First of all, we talked, I think we talked about their fat- We gotta talk about their fat bike hub pretty soon. We haven't done that yet. But their Grin Lygo, remember we have- Yep, yep... a bunch of Lygos...
23:49
the new one's out. 10X. I don't know if it's actually available yet, but it came up. It was, it... We're like, the old one had all these, like, cables, like almost this long of a cable right here. Mm-hmm.
24:01
Ooh, I better not do that. That might disconnect the drive or something stupid. But it was kinda long. And I'm like, what if they made one that just slammed together with a nice clickety-clacky system? They did that.
24:13
And the only reason that it didn't come out longer ago than now is they wanted it UL-certified after that whole fricka-fracker- Right With the UL business to get it certified, and so they had to redo their BMS to be-
24:28
UL certified... compliant with the, whatever. But there is a YouTube video, and it, it's really cool. I can't wait till it's actually available because- I wanna watch it... it's a stacker.
24:38
It's like boomity, boomity, boomity, boomity, boom. Wow. 36 or 72? 7 miles, 14 miles, 21 miles, you know, whatever. However many miles- Yeah...
24:45
you just stack miles together until you get as heavy as you wanna get, and then you're done. Oh, fucking river. [laughs] Um, 36 volt? Oh, yeah, Tony got a freaking haircut, bro. Yeah, I got 'em all cut.
24:56
I keep going back. [laughs] Like, I do this all the time. It's been- Oh, you do still have color in there... 21,000 steelhead- Oh, there they go. Look at that... going, going spitting right into the river right here.
25:04
That's a lot of steelhead. Right? Those are little finger- [laughs] God, those are f- those are, like, fingerlings. They're like- Yeah, but those fuckers are gonna be like, "I want to break free."
25:13
Somebody's gonna eat about half of them- Right. Some-... some bigger guy, but some of them will probably make it into your frying pan at home at some point. Yes, as he is a very avid fisherman. Nice.
25:24
[laughs] Well, you know- Well, thank you... I mean, when your job is right on the river, and if, and if- Yeah, why not? [laughs] And if you haven't done the Lakefront Brewery, br- br- br- brewery, uh, tour- You should...
25:35
they basically have comedians- Get ready for jokes... yes... they love to tell jokes. I think most of them probably work at ComedySportz or some such. [smacks lips] I know. Most likely.
25:45
If they don't- If you, if you don't do it with Russ, I mean- [laughs] There's a Jim, Jim. If you don't do it- Either one... with Jim Klipsch, he is so funny during that tour. It is absolutely hilarious. I, good vibes.
25:58
I love that tour. I've done it a bunch of times. I, I, I, I like when [laughs]
26:02
Russ was the funny one when I kept taking out the piece of plastic so we could do skid contests outside [laughs] and he'd- Oh, that was funny... throw it back in, and I kept jumping back.
26:10
[laughs] I think that was the last MMI that actually was there, wasn't it? Or was it a Steel Is Real? Uh, that was, that was a- Oh, it was a Steel Is Real probably...
26:15
it was a s- uh, it was either Steel Is Real or- A Fat Tire Tour... Fat Tire Tour, right. Well, speaking of Fat Tire Tour by Cracky, it's only a couple weeks away. It's June- Yeah. It is... it's June, it's, uh, June 15th.
26:28
Ah, yes, the day- Ah... that is packed with everything. And the next day, guess what it is? My son's graduation, so, mm, I mean, I can do it, but I can't do it like I did it in the past. [laughs] I can do the beginning.
26:38
I mean, I, I can- Shit, I think it's my daughter's graduation too. The 16th or the 15th? Ah, shit. The 15th is a Saturday. Uh, again, Mr. Dave Schlosswies- Oh, shit...
26:48
will be in your pocket once again on the 15th- Yeah... doing the- If I miss that fucking show-... Steel Is Real... I'm gonna be so upset... or no, uh, sorry, Fat Tire Tour. And guess what?
26:56
The a- the official release of this beer is also on the 15th- Oh, awesome... at the, at the Nomad at some point in time during the day. And lastly, but mostly- But also is the Terf Damn thing... mostly least- Right?
27:08
[laughs] That's taking precedence. Which, is that the 15th? Oh, yes. Son of a bitch. And so is, uh, Summer Solstice. Strangelander is playing- Oh, geez... early in the day. That's gonna be a tough day not to- Oh...
27:19
imbibe too much. Though we could ride a lot of miles and burn off a lot of stuff. It's been a long day. Uh, I did wanna make sure that, uh- Excuse me...
27:28
I'm not sure it works for me, but apparently, and I gotta make sure he actually bought a ticket- Hmm... uh, davelunz.com- Hey... ha- [laughs]... has, I think,
27:41
like, it's June 28th to July 3rd, bikes, boat, and a goat going over to Michigan doing some riding, blah, blah, blah- Oh. All right... across the lake on the Badger coal-fired- Ah... steamer ship.
27:54
[laughs] Cleveland Steamer ship? But- [laughs] But it's July 3rd when they get back, and, you know, it's kinda like my birthday's the next day- Yeah, it is... and stuff, and, uh, I don't know.
28:04
That's gonna be a hard sell. We'll have to- That's July, man. There's so much going on in June. Like- It's only 29, 30 days away from now. Yeah, but there's s- like- I gotta see Two Nights and They Might Be Giants.
28:16
I gotta. Is that, is that in June? It's in June. Okay. Is it at Summerfest? No. No, I don't go to Summerfest. Do you know what band I wanna see at Summerfest? Someone hopefully you can see outside of Summerfest?
28:26
No, Living Color 'cause I, there's- Oh, that'd be fun. Man, that'd be a good show. Otherwise- That'd be a good show... Little River Band. [clears throat] But they're both at, like- Ah...
28:32
I think Little River Band's at 4:15 and, and, and- Living Color... Living Color, which would be awesome if Lenny Kravitz was in that. So, somewhere. Anyway- I can't, I can't poach the, the Marcus, uh,
28:46
Marcus Stoney Jr.'s stage, not the Marcus Hamilton. Oh, I saw Marcus Stoney Jr. today. But- He bought me lunch. At the- Thank you very much, Marcus... at the US Cellular, I think it's the 21st of June.
28:56
I'm staying in June. I'm staying in that, that first- Got it. Got it... batch of it. EMF. [laughs] Yeah, unbelievable. Oh. Oh. Electromagnetic Function? What is EMF? Dun, dun, dun, dun.
29:07
It's just a one-hit wonder from the '90s. Electro- Unbelievable. Oh. I remember the song. Yes. Okay. I would not have given you- It's them-... the band name, however. Really? I would've known it right away.
29:16
Soon as he said the name, I'm like, "That's freaking bad measure. Oh." It's them, Modern English- Oh, yeah, Modern English is on Marcus's stage... and Jesus Jones. That's on- Oh. Jones, who had to cancel last year- Oh...
29:29
because their- That'd be a good show... their, their agent or whatever didn't file their passport, uh, paperwork in time. Aren't they right here, right now? Yeah. Right here, right now.
29:42
There's no other place- You guys are-... I'd rather. Jesus. An international bright one. Okay, that- That's a g- [laughs] Okay, now I suddenly want to go to Summerfest. [laughs] I'd love to poach that show, but I can't.
29:53
Yeah, Modern English is early in the day too, like 6:00 PM-ish. Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah. 'Cause, uh, y- yeah, you stop at work- Go there... and also do- Get your can of- Right... get your, get your cans of beans out.
30:02
Get your free entry. You know how much it costs to get in there this year if you don't have a can of beans? $28. $28. And you know how much that jackass gets of every ticket? $3.3 million. $7 per ticket. No.
30:14
He's done a- Oh, he's done. Sweet- Well, no, he's still s- Sweet pea. Smiley? Smiley's gone...
30:18
he's still somehow in there, and, and Scott Ziel, who is an awesome dude, is now m- the master of the place, but there's still some connection to Don Smiley for some reason this year. The logo. Oh, for crying out loud.
30:33
[laughs] Remember Guy Smiley from The Muppets? How you doing? [laughs] All right, that's all. I can't do it. Can't do it anymore. Uh, we could, though. We could keep going. But no, next week we can do it again. Yes.
30:43
It'll be show number 258, where we will- Maybe-... probably do almost exactly the same thing we did this week- Yes. We may-... only with different topics and subjects.
30:51
And maybe we'll introduce the month of July into things. Ooh. Oh. Wow. Oh. Wow. Uh-huh. We haven't even gotten- I, I gotta put a cap on that 'cause- Oh, yeah, he-... we could've just kept going and going and going...
31:02
we haven't even got out of June yet, for crying mentally. Thank you. That's- Bye. Bye. Yeah.
31:10
[upbeat music]
