HEIST: Leonardo Notarbartolo
In February 2003, a crew broke into the Antwerp Diamond Centre vault in Belgium and stole an estimated $100 million in diamonds, gold and cash from at least 109 safe-deposit boxes, bypassing ten documented layers of security. Only one man, Leonardo Notarbartolo, was convicted, sentenced to five years, and the stolen goods have never been recovered. The identities of the full crew and the alleged inside organiser remain officially unconfirmed.
Anyone with information about the unrecovered Antwerp diamonds should contact Belgian Federal Police at +32 2 642 74 11, or the CDGEFID diamond fraud…
