- 0:01Speaker 1: Then when I woke up this morning, I was feeling
- 0:02Speaker 1: pretty dangerous. But we're on a Cincinnatic. It's my team,
- 0:06Speaker 1: it's my quarterbit. They are who we thought they were,
- 0:09Speaker 1: and we got about you play to win the day.
- 0:13Speaker 1: They want you to cook the dinner please. They ought
- 0:15Speaker 1: to let your shout for someone the grocery and on
- 0:17Speaker 1: the way up, we're gonna buy a kneecap all getting
- 0:19Speaker 1: me playoffs. I'm just here so I won't get fine.
- 0:23Speaker 1: How could he not be romantic about football? Half? Who?
- 0:27Speaker 1: How could you not be romantic about football on a
- 0:31Speaker 1: week like this? We are live from the iHeart Podcast
- 0:35Speaker 1: stage on Radio Row at Super Bowl fifty six. Welcome
- 0:38Speaker 1: to bench with Vanetta. I am joined by the one
- 0:42Speaker 1: the only Graveyard Dog, number one Titans fan, Um Graveyard Dog.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Can I be earnest for like two seconds? This is
- 0:49Speaker 1: gonna be the last time I swear to God him
- 0:50Speaker 1: ever earnest in my life. Okay, please? Yeah. I'm feeling
- 0:53Speaker 1: a little bit emotional today and this week because like
- 0:57Speaker 1: we're here at the super Bowl and it is such
- 1:00Speaker 1: a moment for us. We are sitting on this beautiful,
- 1:03Speaker 1: bright red set that is sticking out like a sore thumb,
- 1:07Speaker 1: and there are people here, there are celebrities here. It
- 1:12Speaker 1: is very excited to be here on Radio Row. And
- 1:14Speaker 1: it just feels like, you know, this is my first
- 1:16Speaker 1: year at NFL Network and I survived. It really feels like.
- 1:20Speaker 1: I mean, I literally have the craziest schedule of my
- 1:23Speaker 1: life this week, so I can't say that I've survived yet,
- 1:25Speaker 1: but I'm really just so excited. And let me just listen.
- 1:30Speaker 1: For anybody that is, you know, thinking about making a
- 1:34Speaker 1: move in your life or changing jobs or moving or
- 1:38Speaker 1: you know, doing anything that is a big decision, maybe
- 1:41Speaker 1: this is your sign to do it, because that's what
- 1:44Speaker 1: I did six months ago, and I started a whole
- 1:46Speaker 1: new job and a whole new chapter and I was terrified.
- 1:49Speaker 1: And this has literally been maybe the best six months
- 1:52Speaker 1: of my life. And I'm just so happy and I'm
- 1:55Speaker 1: so happy to be sitting here with you today. So
- 1:57Speaker 1: that was so gross. I hate that I even wast earnest,
- 2:00Speaker 1: but I just had to say it. I had to
- 2:01Speaker 1: get out. Guys. We have a jam freaking pack show.
- 2:06Speaker 1: We have not one, but two guests, and we got
- 2:09Speaker 1: to talk about the super Bowl because we gotta doozy
- 2:11Speaker 1: on our hands Rams Bengals in Los Angeles. It's crazy.
- 2:16Speaker 1: You can kind of like feel the excitement and feel
- 2:18Speaker 1: the vibe. Even like my friends that don't even like football,
- 2:20Speaker 1: they're like, I'm kind of digging this. They're like going
- 2:23Speaker 1: to the convention Center and doing the installations and taking
- 2:27Speaker 1: pictures and it's just a lot of excitement in Los Angeles.
- 2:30Speaker 1: And first things first, I have an apology to make.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Actually I have an apology to make. Every single year,
- 2:37Speaker 1: Junkyard Dog your girl puts on a party and it's
- 2:41Speaker 1: it's a party that no one experiences all year long
- 2:46Speaker 1: until Super Bowl Sunday. We got cocktailwheenies, we got buffalo
- 2:50Speaker 1: chicken dip, we got absolutely everything, and I can't have
- 2:54Speaker 1: it this year. That is too bad. And I'm texting
- 2:57Speaker 1: my friends on like, guys, parties canceled, and they're like,
- 2:59Speaker 1: oh my god, why what's happening? Are you sick? What
- 3:01Speaker 1: are you dying? Because there's no there's no other good
- 3:04Speaker 1: and I got tickets to the Super Bowl. So I
- 3:09Speaker 1: have to apologize you all my friends who are very
- 3:10Speaker 1: upset with me because we canceled our beautiful Super Bowl
- 3:13Speaker 1: Sunday party. But your girls gonna be in the stands,
- 3:17Speaker 1: and I want to talk about this game, this small
- 3:19Speaker 1: little game that doesn't mean much, the Super Bowl. And
- 3:22Speaker 1: let me ask, A lot of people are talking about
- 3:24Speaker 1: old Rams have home field advantage this year. I hate it.
- 3:32Speaker 1: I don't actually think that's true. I actually think it's
- 3:34Speaker 1: quite the opposite. I actually think that they don't have
- 3:38Speaker 1: an advantage at all. I actually think it's a disadvantage
- 3:42Speaker 1: to be playing at so far. And let me tell
- 3:45Speaker 1: you why. First off, the Bengals are actually the home team,
- 3:48Speaker 1: which is hilarious technically speaking. Listen, you have your setup,
- 3:54Speaker 1: you have your locker room, you have the place that
- 3:56Speaker 1: you park, you have the way that you get into
- 3:58Speaker 1: work every single day. If that changes on the biggest
- 4:03Speaker 1: day of your life, I mean, I don't care how
- 4:06Speaker 1: well prepped you are. That's going to throw a girl off.
- 4:09Speaker 1: If you're living in your home and then all of
- 4:11Speaker 1: a sudden, somebody's living in your bedroom, It's like I
- 4:14Speaker 1: can't go about my day normally. I can't prep the
- 4:17Speaker 1: way that I can't. I was reading in an article
- 4:19Speaker 1: on the Athletic and Andrew Whitworth, Rams left tackle said,
- 4:23Speaker 1: I think that being at home it's an advantage if
- 4:26Speaker 1: you can do it the right way. Okay, he says,
- 4:29Speaker 1: you just try to stay in the normal rhythm and
- 4:30Speaker 1: stay in the normal way you'd prepare for games, and
- 4:32Speaker 1: stay in that rhythm all throughout the week. Try not
- 4:34Speaker 1: to break from it. Sean McVeigh doesn't even have his
- 4:37Speaker 1: normal parking spot as I head to the ego. Yeah,
- 4:40Speaker 1: they do get their locker room. They weren't even allowed
- 4:42Speaker 1: to choose which jerseys they wore first. That was up
- 4:45Speaker 1: to the Bengals. The Bengals, I think, got to choose
- 4:47Speaker 1: which side of the field that they were on. I
- 4:50Speaker 1: actually think it's a major disadvantage. They don't get the
- 4:56Speaker 1: see that's why you're on this show, because that was
- 4:58Speaker 1: pretty quick. They don't get the Who's House, Ram's house.
- 5:01Speaker 1: They don't get the first gown, which is a bit
- 5:05Speaker 1: uns they don't get that just crazy decibel of volume.
- 5:11Speaker 1: They don't have all of those things that make so
- 5:13Speaker 1: FI so terrifying to go and play in. So I'm
- 5:16Speaker 1: actually going to call them out and say they are
- 5:18Speaker 1: at a disadvantage. And I don't know if you saw
- 5:20Speaker 1: this just came out today. They have potentially have to
- 5:23Speaker 1: move practices to the Rose Bowl because there it's too
- 5:26Speaker 1: windy in Thousand Oaks where their facility is to practice. See,
- 5:30Speaker 1: now they're all gonna get in their head. They're gonna
- 5:31Speaker 1: be They're gonna be peeved about this. They're gonna be.
- 5:33Speaker 1: We should be able to punch us with punked us. Yeah,
- 5:36Speaker 1: this is our suitors, our toon driving our studentom. You
- 5:39Speaker 1: drive around town, you see all these giant super Bowl
- 5:41Speaker 1: signs everywhere, Like that puts a little bit of pressure,
- 5:44Speaker 1: like this is in our city. Now. It's different if
- 5:46Speaker 1: you're the Bengals coming in, you see you expect to
- 5:48Speaker 1: see all that stuff. Obviously you traveled in for the
- 5:50Speaker 1: Super Bowl. Not to mention, did you did you see
- 5:52Speaker 1: the pepper rally situations. Bengals have THEIRS at Paul Brown Stadium.
- 5:56Speaker 1: They have like over thirty thousand fans. It's sold out
- 5:58Speaker 1: in minutes. LA looked to have THEIRS at like a
- 6:01Speaker 1: I don't know where it was. It looked like a
- 6:02Speaker 1: high school. It was like invite only, so I think
- 6:05Speaker 1: it was only like season ticket holders. It was not.
- 6:08Speaker 1: I think you can kind of already tell who my
- 6:10Speaker 1: super Bowl pick is the way that I am. Whatever,
- 6:12Speaker 1: we'll get to that in a second. But you know
- 6:14Speaker 1: what I mean, like it just feels like it does
- 6:16Speaker 1: feel like really even playing ground. But I honestly think
- 6:19Speaker 1: that the Bengals have a little bit of an advantage
- 6:20Speaker 1: and they probably feel like, yeah, that's right, you don't
- 6:22Speaker 1: get your parking spots. I get Sean mcvay's parking spots.
- 6:25Speaker 1: I'm kind of a cool feeling. Okay, So we're gonna
- 6:30Speaker 1: talk about should the Super Bowl be a national holiday?
- 6:36Speaker 1: So if Cincinnati does win, let me tell you, Junkyard Dog,
- 6:40Speaker 1: we are going to have a Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl
- 6:46Speaker 1: win fiasco on our hands. And maybe you're at home
- 6:49Speaker 1: asking yourself, what does she mean by that? Can we
- 6:52Speaker 1: play this this clip? Yeah? This is fans flipping over
- 6:59Speaker 1: a car are in the street after the Eagles won
- 7:03Speaker 1: the Super Bowl over the Patriots from the Philly Special.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Who could forget that moment? I believe that there was
- 7:07Speaker 1: a man that ate horsepoop in the street that night,
- 7:11Speaker 1: like the city reeked the all kinds of havoc. And
- 7:15Speaker 1: I just feel like the Bengals, they've never won a
- 7:18Speaker 1: super Bowl, they haven't been in a Super Bowl. I
- 7:20Speaker 1: think they've only been in one Super Bowl. And that
- 7:21Speaker 1: was in nineteen eighty one, a million years ago. If
- 7:25Speaker 1: this happens, Okay, the city is going to fully shut
- 7:30Speaker 1: down and Cincinnati, I believe, like elementary schools have public
- 7:34Speaker 1: school public schools have said it's basically going to be
- 7:36Speaker 1: a snow day on Monday. All schools are closed, which
- 7:39Speaker 1: I love. But guess what, people, Children aren't going to
- 7:41Speaker 1: be hungover. Children aren't going to be flipping cars in
- 7:44Speaker 1: the street. Okay, forget about the children. They're fine to
- 7:46Speaker 1: go to school. It's their parents that you need to
- 7:49Speaker 1: look out for. Honestly, they should be in school so
- 7:52Speaker 1: the parents can sit on the couch and they'll have
- 7:53Speaker 1: to worry about their kids all day. Okay, So this
- 7:55Speaker 1: is a punishment for the parents. This is an absolute
- 7:58Speaker 1: punishment for the parents. Ay, they're gonna be hungover, be
- 8:01Speaker 1: maybe in jail because they've flipped over multiple cars the
- 8:04Speaker 1: night before because the Bengals just won the Super Bowl
- 8:05Speaker 1: for the first time in their lives. Uh. But what
- 8:08Speaker 1: do you what do you think? I'm thinking it needs
- 8:10Speaker 1: to be a full national holiday every single Super Bowl.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Cities need to step up, mayors. This goes on to
- 8:15Speaker 1: every mayor of every city ever Um, make the Super
- 8:19Speaker 1: Bowl a national holiday. I think it'll make more people
- 8:22Speaker 1: interested in sports. Yeah, because they're like that, they're giving
- 8:24Speaker 1: me a day off, I might as well watch the
- 8:25Speaker 1: super Bowl. Super Bowl parties would be so much more
- 8:27Speaker 1: fun if you knew you didn't have to work the
- 8:29Speaker 1: next day on Monday. Of course, I think we probably
- 8:31Speaker 1: still would given our positions with the NFL. But nationally, yes,
- 8:36Speaker 1: make that Monday a holiday. My only counterpoint to that
- 8:39Speaker 1: is Eagles fans and so many fan bases have gone
- 8:43Speaker 1: so crazy on that Sunday night. Oh, we would make
- 8:45Speaker 1: it worse. Yeah, how crazy people drunk? Are people going
- 8:52Speaker 1: to get at their Super Bowl parties? Like? I think
- 8:54Speaker 1: that there's got to be some kind of Okay, let's
- 8:56Speaker 1: start a scientific study. I just feel like it would
- 9:00Speaker 1: improve the relationship with bosses. It would improve the employee
- 9:05Speaker 1: happiness scale if they get this day off. Listen, we're
- 9:08Speaker 1: already going out, We're already flipping cars. The bottom line,
- 9:11Speaker 1: this is already anna be happening. We're already gonna be
- 9:14Speaker 1: a couple of white claws. Deep. Um, sorry to mom,
- 9:18Speaker 1: but you might see me on the news tonight, and
- 9:20Speaker 1: you know you might as well just give me the
- 9:21Speaker 1: day off, okay. And then finally, the last thing that
- 9:25Speaker 1: we need to discuss is there's been a lot of, um,
- 9:28Speaker 1: a lot of stuff going on in the media this
- 9:30Speaker 1: week about what Joe Burrow's nickname should be. Uh. He
- 9:35Speaker 1: ultimately did say he just wants to be called Joe
- 9:37Speaker 1: so oh man, I don't know, I don't know. I
- 9:41Speaker 1: have a lot of them. Um, there are a lot.
- 9:44Speaker 1: There are a lot. He just wants to be called
- 9:49Speaker 1: So Okay, if if he's okay with it, then we
- 9:51Speaker 1: might as well try and pick one that suits him.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Tiger King. I kind of like that's his vibe, but
- 9:57Speaker 1: it just gives me bad vibes. I agree, it's like
- 9:59Speaker 1: a cool like if the actual Tiger King was cool. Yes,
- 10:04Speaker 1: Joey franchise, I really like. I just picture him smoking
- 10:07Speaker 1: a cigar. That's kind of Joe SCHISTI I feel like
- 10:10Speaker 1: I'm not allowed to stay on TV for some reason, Um, jackpot,
- 10:14Speaker 1: Joey boring Joe Burr Is that because he wears like
- 10:17Speaker 1: icy chains? Because he's stupid? Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase
- 10:23Speaker 1: said that they like that one the most. Okay, Well,
- 10:25Speaker 1: I think that they have more pull than I do.
- 10:27Speaker 1: But smokin Joe whatever, Joe cool, Joe, chill, boring. Okay,
- 10:30Speaker 1: So I found this website Find Nicknames dot Com eighty
- 10:34Speaker 1: five plus awesome nicknames for Joe. Shout out Find Nicknames
- 10:37Speaker 1: dot Com sponsored sponsored by Okay. So I found a
- 10:41Speaker 1: couple that I just want to go through. Um okay, So,
- 10:45Speaker 1: first things, first, we could call him Brosiff and also
- 10:47Speaker 1: by these these names, it kind of gives a reason
- 10:50Speaker 1: why they're giving this so bros If, after all, he
- 10:54Speaker 1: is your brother. So no, that's a no joker either
- 10:58Speaker 1: because he loves making Joe. That's where it ends. It
- 11:02Speaker 1: should be either because he loves making jokes and also this,
- 11:05Speaker 1: but it's just either because he loves making jokes Joejoe
- 11:08Speaker 1: circus for one who is full of antics. He is
- 11:11Speaker 1: full of antics Jehoshaffetz if you want a mouthful. I
- 11:18Speaker 1: don't like any of these, and I think that we
- 11:20Speaker 1: should just call him Joe. Let's call him Joe. He
- 11:22Speaker 1: wants to just be called Joe. What's wrong with Joe?
- 11:24Speaker 1: I don't think that there's anything wrong with Joe? Or
- 11:27Speaker 1: maybe we just call him just call me Joe would
- 11:29Speaker 1: be Oh, just call me Joe, Joe, just call me
- 11:32Speaker 1: Joe Burrow. I actually think that that might be it.
- 11:36Speaker 1: There we go, There we go. Bench with Bonetta, just
- 11:39Speaker 1: call me Joe. All right, Coming up, you guys, our
- 11:41Speaker 1: first NFL player comes on the pot. This. I feel
- 11:44Speaker 1: like this makes the pod like official, Like I feel
- 11:46Speaker 1: like we've just gotten our blue check mark, you know
- 11:47Speaker 1: what I mean, Viking's wide receiver. Justin Jefferson joins us
- 11:52Speaker 1: from Radio Row here in La. Don't go anywhere, all right.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Justin Jefferson joins us today, reminding you to try new
- 12:04Speaker 1: Old Spice Gentleman's Blend deodorants and body washes crafted to
- 12:08Speaker 1: be gentle on skin with ridiculously long lasting freshness. I'm
- 12:12Speaker 1: not going to ask you to prove that you can
- 12:13Speaker 1: buy Old Spice Gentleman's Blend in stores now. Hi, Justin,
- 12:17Speaker 1: Welcome to you, Benched with Banetta. So what are you
- 12:19Speaker 1: doing here? Are you're rocking the Old Spice sweater? What
- 12:20Speaker 1: are you doing here? Yeah, I'm definitely happy to partner
- 12:23Speaker 1: with Old Spice. You know, my routine starts in the
- 12:27Speaker 1: morning with a fresh shour, so night not getting that
- 12:30Speaker 1: fresh show way and definitely it's tough on my day.
- 12:33Speaker 1: So have that new fresh lavenderment since whoa forty eight?
- 12:37Speaker 1: Our fresh nice? Right? Right? So why not go with
- 12:41Speaker 1: old spice? I love it? Um. Okay, we were just
- 12:44Speaker 1: talking before the camera started rolling. You said that it's
- 12:46Speaker 1: a little bit tough to be in this building. I
- 12:48Speaker 1: was asking you if you're going to be at NFL
- 12:50Speaker 1: Honors because your girl's gonna be there, and I was like,
- 12:53Speaker 1: maybe you were a tough special. I can get a
- 12:55Speaker 1: sneak peak. But you said, this is kind of a
- 12:57Speaker 1: tough week for you. How come? I mean, just seeing
- 13:00Speaker 1: and all the super Bowl stuff everywhere, it's definitely tough
- 13:04Speaker 1: to get here. Definitely something that is a dream for
- 13:07Speaker 1: a lot of NFL guys. Yeah. The crazy part is,
- 13:10Speaker 1: I mean there's some who there's lots of guys that
- 13:13Speaker 1: never been to the playoff or I've never even been
- 13:16Speaker 1: to the super Bowl. So it's tough. It's tough. But
- 13:20Speaker 1: I mean next year, we have next year, we have
- 13:22Speaker 1: other years. Yeah, I mean you're only twenty two, right,
- 13:24Speaker 1: so do you kind of use this week because like,
- 13:26Speaker 1: all right, I'm gonna be here, I'm gonna be mad,
- 13:28Speaker 1: I'm gonna sell some deodorant. So then I'm gonna turn
- 13:30Speaker 1: around and train my butt off this summer. Do you
- 13:32Speaker 1: kind of use that as fuel? I definitely use that
- 13:34Speaker 1: as shield. Definitely is something that you know makes you
- 13:38Speaker 1: want it even more, you know, just seeing all the
- 13:40Speaker 1: things that is happening, seeing the big the super Bowl
- 13:44Speaker 1: stuff on in the building. Yeah, when you come in.
- 13:46Speaker 1: So it's definitely, you know, exciting to be here, but
- 13:49Speaker 1: definitely something that you know, I want to be in
- 13:52Speaker 1: the game instead of watching it. I like it. I
- 13:54Speaker 1: like the little smirk too, like I can see kind
- 13:55Speaker 1: of like fire. Like just you guys. Wait, how many
- 13:58Speaker 1: times have you been asked about dodgeball today? Not many
- 14:02Speaker 1: yet many I've been asked about Joe and Jamar are
- 14:05Speaker 1: probably fifty focus on dog ball. How good did that feel?
- 14:12Speaker 1: You want dodgeball? People want not? The internet exploded? I
- 14:15Speaker 1: love it. I love it. I love dodgeball and I
- 14:18Speaker 1: haven't played dodgeball and a hot many Yeah. So to
- 14:21Speaker 1: to do that and play against all of the top
- 14:23Speaker 1: players in the league, uh, and that was it was
- 14:26Speaker 1: pretty fun. It was pretty fun. What is that like?
- 14:28Speaker 1: Because you guys are always so serious with each other
- 14:31Speaker 1: and it's always you're playing football and it's rough and
- 14:34Speaker 1: it's hardcore, and then you're just like silly boys playing
- 14:38Speaker 1: the silly sport. Like what was that like where you
- 14:40Speaker 1: guys kind of gigglee with each other. I love it, honestly.
- 14:43Speaker 1: That was that was my first time being around the
- 14:46Speaker 1: top guys in the league. You know, COVID the first year,
- 14:49Speaker 1: um last year, and you know, you don't really get
- 14:51Speaker 1: to talk to people during the season, right, Uh So
- 14:54Speaker 1: that was my first time being around top guys. So
- 14:57Speaker 1: it was it was definitely fun to talk to them,
- 15:00Speaker 1: just to be around them, uh seeing what type of
- 15:04Speaker 1: you know people they are. Uh so it was it
- 15:07Speaker 1: was it was cool to you know, do all of
- 15:08Speaker 1: the games, the skillish tchallenge stuff, um, and just be
- 15:12Speaker 1: around him for a whole week. So definitely what was fun.
- 15:14Speaker 1: Did I see that you were asked to sign somebody's baby? Yeah?
- 15:18Speaker 1: Where did you do it? And where did you sign
- 15:21Speaker 1: their like bald head? No, it was a good thing.
- 15:24Speaker 1: He had a jersey on SID I imagining at Tom
- 15:28Speaker 1: Brady jersey on Jersey. Give me a Destin Jefferson Jersey.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Soon enough, okay, um, we're gonna try something. I've come
- 15:36Speaker 1: up with a couple of new skills challenges, and I'm
- 15:39Speaker 1: gonna rhyme them off really quick, and you tell me
- 15:41Speaker 1: if you'd be good at them. Okay, okay, So first
- 15:43Speaker 1: things first, could you stay the longest in an ice bath? No?
- 15:47Speaker 1: You could be like training? That would don't be a
- 15:49Speaker 1: good skills challenge? Can train for? Like cold weather games?
- 15:52Speaker 1: Do it? You don't like the cold? No? I hate
- 15:54Speaker 1: the code. I hate the code, even though I'm in Minnesota.
- 15:57Speaker 1: That's a tough lines. I mostally hate ice bads. Those
- 16:02Speaker 1: are the worst. I hate. I hate ice. I hate
- 16:05Speaker 1: coldness period. Okay. A game of chess, I can't do it.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Can't do like chess. I really don't know how to play.
- 16:13Speaker 1: I really, I feel like that's like a person. I
- 16:16Speaker 1: know the concept. I mean Jordan, my brother tried to
- 16:18Speaker 1: teach me a little bit, right. I haven't really set
- 16:21Speaker 1: seeing what was playing Checkers? Checkers? People? Good? Ye do it?
- 16:26Speaker 1: Kicking a fifty yard field goal? Oh? Fifty kicking any
- 16:31Speaker 1: field goal? Okay? I can? I can? I think I
- 16:33Speaker 1: can make a field goal. I think I can. I
- 16:35Speaker 1: think I got a good little leg on me. So,
- 16:37Speaker 1: speaking of the good likes, what about rhythmic gymnastics? Like
- 16:40Speaker 1: a gritty kind of situation. You can pull that off?
- 16:44Speaker 1: I think I can't. Okay, I think you would kind
- 16:46Speaker 1: of have to explain how I gotta do it just
- 16:48Speaker 1: just being I feel like you've got the movement, so
- 16:51Speaker 1: I feel like you could actually be pretty good a rhythmic. Um,
- 16:54Speaker 1: it's the offseason, flip cup. Pretty good would be good
- 17:00Speaker 1: at that. Let's talk about the gritty because this thing
- 17:04Speaker 1: is just like exploded. Mac Jones is doing it now
- 17:07Speaker 1: in the Pro Bowl. Is it true that Jamar Chase
- 17:09Speaker 1: introduced you to the Yes, that is true. How did
- 17:12Speaker 1: that happen? So? Um? The guy that actually created the dance,
- 17:17Speaker 1: Alan Davis, nicknamed Gritty Um. He goes to school in
- 17:21Speaker 1: New Orleans. I'm not from originally in New Orleans, New Orleans.
- 17:25Speaker 1: I'm like twenty minutes from New Orleans. So Jamar is
- 17:28Speaker 1: from New Orleans though. So Jamar knew him um before me. Yeah,
- 17:34Speaker 1: so he knew the dance and everything before I did.
- 17:38Speaker 1: So when we got to LSU, uh, he kind of like, well,
- 17:42Speaker 1: like a lot of guys are from New Orleans that
- 17:44Speaker 1: that are from LSU. So uh, they were all just
- 17:47Speaker 1: showing us to dance and stuff. Teaching us to dance,
- 17:51Speaker 1: and then I kind of like took it on from there.
- 17:54Speaker 1: I just started doing it all the time, right, and
- 17:58Speaker 1: then I was like, you know, we should do this
- 18:00Speaker 1: for the touchdown dance, you know, And then Texas gag happened.
- 18:04Speaker 1: I scored, and that's when I hit it, And ever
- 18:07Speaker 1: since then they kind of blew up. I started doing
- 18:10Speaker 1: more and more, people started doing it more and more.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Then when I got to the league, that's when they
- 18:14Speaker 1: kind of went. You know, I gotta imagine you're already
- 18:16Speaker 1: kind of thinking about what's next for next year? Is
- 18:19Speaker 1: that's because if I was football, but of those are
- 18:21Speaker 1: the dumb stuff that I'd be thinking about and planning
- 18:23Speaker 1: those kind of it kind of be the hardest that
- 18:26Speaker 1: that would be the hardest thinking of like a touchdown dance. Yeah,
- 18:29Speaker 1: especially when you you know, you're not thinking of it
- 18:32Speaker 1: at the moment. You know, you're one about scoring, You're
- 18:34Speaker 1: one about you know, the game. So when it actually happens,
- 18:38Speaker 1: you like you kind of have like two to five
- 18:40Speaker 1: seconds to kind of pull it out right, bring out
- 18:43Speaker 1: what you want to do. So some people crack under pressure,
- 18:46Speaker 1: they like do something that they didn't really want to do, right,
- 18:52Speaker 1: this is the day. I come from the world of
- 18:54Speaker 1: soccer and they go all out for goal celebrations. They
- 18:58Speaker 1: have like I remember one time a guy had like
- 18:59Speaker 1: a cell phone hidden on the side of the field
- 19:02Speaker 1: and he like made a call. It was so bizarre. Right,
- 19:07Speaker 1: we do that. We get fine. I know it's different now,
- 19:09Speaker 1: but you gotta have something sweet but small enough Hall
- 19:13Speaker 1: of Fame jacket, right, absolutely. Uh, you've you've got another
- 19:17Speaker 1: friend on the other side. I'm sure you've got many friends,
- 19:19Speaker 1: but OBJ is on the other side. This guy. You
- 19:22Speaker 1: guys have been close for quite some time. I'm a
- 19:26Speaker 1: Browns fan, so my hurt is still a little bit hurt. Yeah, stuff, No,
- 19:30Speaker 1: I'm so happy to see him happy and thriving. It's great.
- 19:33Speaker 1: But what is something that maybe we all don't know
- 19:35Speaker 1: about Obj because we see the glitz and the glam
- 19:38Speaker 1: and the perfect teeth and the beautiful outfits and the chains.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Like does he play a lot of video games? Is
- 19:44Speaker 1: he like lazy? Is you have like fuzzy slippers at home? Like?
- 19:47Speaker 1: What is something that why we the juice here? Yeah,
- 19:50Speaker 1: he definitely loves playing game. I think he has a
- 19:53Speaker 1: channel or a twitch or whatever or discord whatever he
- 19:56Speaker 1: does U slippers, I don't think so. I don't think
- 20:00Speaker 1: he's the fuzzy kind of guy, you know, he's he's
- 20:02Speaker 1: more into the fashion, the high designer stuff. But I
- 20:07Speaker 1: love Old I love his style. I love is the
- 20:09Speaker 1: way he carried himself. So definitely been a big fan
- 20:13Speaker 1: of him for for a long time. Are you talking
- 20:15Speaker 1: to these guys this week or you kind of just like,
- 20:17Speaker 1: I'll let them do their thing, you know, I don't
- 20:20Speaker 1: want to, you know, get all up into their their stuff.
- 20:22Speaker 1: I actually talked to Odell uh during the Pro Bowl.
- 20:27Speaker 1: He was telling me how happy he was of me
- 20:29Speaker 1: getting the Pro Bowl. Yeah. Yeah, Yeah, we're brothers. We
- 20:35Speaker 1: we always ever since my brother played with him at LSU. Uh,
- 20:38Speaker 1: we we always been connected, you know, especially us playing
- 20:41Speaker 1: the same position. Uh. I definitely looked up to him
- 20:44Speaker 1: and was a fan of him for for a long time.
- 20:47Speaker 1: So ever since we got into the league, we we
- 20:50Speaker 1: connected more and more. Um, you know, we talked to
- 20:52Speaker 1: each other, you know, about anything or you know, at
- 20:56Speaker 1: any time. So yeah, that's pretty special. Yeahs you we
- 21:00Speaker 1: all see Joe Burrow as I'm sure you've been asked
- 21:02Speaker 1: this a million question. We see him as this like
- 21:04Speaker 1: swaggy dude with the glasses and the chains and you
- 21:10Speaker 1: know Joe Burr and all of these things. What was
- 21:14Speaker 1: he like when you first met him? Was he always
- 21:16Speaker 1: this way, always had that confidence. I always had that
- 21:20Speaker 1: swag ever since the first day he got in se
- 21:23Speaker 1: an issue. So this is no surprise to me. You know,
- 21:26Speaker 1: him getting to league, him having money, now him having jewelry,
- 21:31Speaker 1: having the glasses, the Cardia glasses. It's hilarious. It's hilarious.
- 21:37Speaker 1: But I mean I've known him ever since he got
- 21:39Speaker 1: to LSU, and he's always been like that. I love him.
- 21:43Speaker 1: I love his style, his confidence make the rest of
- 21:47Speaker 1: the offense have confidence, you know the way. I mean
- 21:50Speaker 1: as soon as the captain of the team have that swag,
- 21:53Speaker 1: that confidence and you know, to carry the team with
- 21:56Speaker 1: that that energy. You know, everybody else has the energy
- 21:59Speaker 1: with everybody else carry this they self the same. You know,
- 22:03Speaker 1: everybody has that that up tempo momentum just like him.
- 22:06Speaker 1: So I think that's kind of how you know, everybody
- 22:10Speaker 1: feeds off him, you know, them having that that win him,
- 22:13Speaker 1: that winning mentali lead and having that confidence to go
- 22:16Speaker 1: out there and just play ball and have fun with it,
- 22:19Speaker 1: and then you know him having Jamar it is a
- 22:22Speaker 1: little easier to tre so insane. What do we think
- 22:29Speaker 1: he's gonna show up wearing on Sunday. I feel like
- 22:31Speaker 1: it's going to be what I love about jar is
- 22:33Speaker 1: like come quiet cool, Like it's gonna be so understated,
- 22:36Speaker 1: but people are gonna like it's gonna start the new
- 22:39Speaker 1: trends somehow. It's gonna be like a dunder Mifflin bean something.
- 22:43Speaker 1: I know he's going to pull out something for the game.
- 22:46Speaker 1: He has to. He's going to be on the biggest
- 22:48Speaker 1: stage the world. The whole world is going to be
- 22:50Speaker 1: watching him. Everybody excited to see his little Cardier glasses
- 22:57Speaker 1: are gonna buy something now, Like I feel like something
- 23:01Speaker 1: I've been as a fan of Cardiac WHOA. I don't
- 23:11Speaker 1: know if I don't know, Just like I said, Joe
- 23:13Speaker 1: always had that swag, always had that confidence. So yeah,
- 23:17Speaker 1: I mean just like I don't I'm not surprised that
- 23:20Speaker 1: he wears the stuff that he wears. I don't think
- 23:23Speaker 1: that you're allowed to do this because of friendships. But
- 23:26Speaker 1: do you dr is there anybody that you're picking this weekend? Whisper?
- 23:31Speaker 1: We won't tell it's tough. I have to go with
- 23:35Speaker 1: I have to go with Jamar and Joe just because
- 23:37Speaker 1: I played with him, won the National Championship with him
- 23:40Speaker 1: and everything. But I definitely want Odell to have a
- 23:42Speaker 1: great game. I definitely want him a couple of touchdowns. Yeah,
- 23:46Speaker 1: it's tough because Odell been the league for what eight
- 23:49Speaker 1: nine years? This is the second time, I think making
- 23:52Speaker 1: it to the playoffs and first time making it to
- 23:54Speaker 1: the super Bowl, So I want so much for him,
- 23:57Speaker 1: you know, I want him to have a great game.
- 23:59Speaker 1: Of course, I would want him to win, but you know,
- 24:02Speaker 1: I have to go it. You're set either way. You've
- 24:04Speaker 1: got friends winning the super Bowl either way, so I
- 24:06Speaker 1: think you'd be happy, you know. Or if Odell gets it,
- 24:10Speaker 1: I'll be happy that he gets it. But if Jill
- 24:12Speaker 1: and Jamara gets it, I'll be mad that they got it,
- 24:15Speaker 1: But I'll be happy at the same time. Are you
- 24:17Speaker 1: next or what I'm next? Don't I don't want to
- 24:20Speaker 1: see you here next year. I don't want to see
- 24:21Speaker 1: you on radio row next year. I don't want to
- 24:23Speaker 1: see it either. Even though I love talking to you guys,
- 24:26Speaker 1: I don't want to be here that I want to
- 24:28Speaker 1: be getting ready for the game, getting prepared. We're so
- 24:34Speaker 1: excited to watch you. You're gonna kill it. You've already
- 24:36Speaker 1: been killing it, but I'm just so excited to keep
- 24:38Speaker 1: watching you grow. So I'm gonna keep going. You know,
- 24:41Speaker 1: there's so many more things that I need to achieve
- 24:44Speaker 1: and things that I need to set and you know,
- 24:47Speaker 1: of course i'm chasing that gold jacket. So that's definitely
- 24:51Speaker 1: things that I need to need to accomplish in one
- 24:55Speaker 1: starting with that super Bowl ring. So yeah, baby, you're
- 24:58Speaker 1: twenty two, you got tons of time. Thank you so
- 25:01Speaker 1: much for coming on the pod and and good luck
- 25:04Speaker 1: and stay healthy and all that stuff. Thank you, thank
- 25:06Speaker 1: you for having me. I'm happy to talk to you.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Is this is cool. Don't come back, but come back.
- 25:12Speaker 1: You know what I mean. I know exactly what you mean. Okay,
- 25:16Speaker 1: So that was justin Jefferson. I'm automatically like the biggest
- 25:19Speaker 1: fan of that guy. Yeah, how could you not be?
- 25:20Speaker 1: How could you not be? He's so sweet, he's only
- 25:22Speaker 1: twenty two, and like you know, he's here at Radio
- 25:26Speaker 1: Row and as exciting as it is for us, that
- 25:28Speaker 1: dude's gotta but he's probably already done twenty five interviews.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Now he's gonna go to twenty five. More about his
- 25:33Speaker 1: teammates that he won a championship with, that they get
- 25:36Speaker 1: to play together. Yeah, and the fact that he's not here,
- 25:39Speaker 1: Like I really feel for him, but I am rooting
- 25:42Speaker 1: for this kid in all things. I feel like I
- 25:45Speaker 1: can call him a kid because I'm thirty and he's
- 25:46Speaker 1: twenty two. I'm so old. Wow. Okay, coming up, guys,
- 25:51Speaker 1: we made a benched Bingo card for your super Bowl Sunday,
- 25:55Speaker 1: So do not go anywhere. Go Jesine, We'll get to
- 26:01Speaker 1: a neighborhous. It's time to secure the bag. Here is
- 26:08Speaker 1: where we make our early leans in this time. She's
- 26:12Speaker 1: full of the super Bowl. Okay. So my favorite part
- 26:14Speaker 1: about hosting my gigantic super Bowl party that we've already
- 26:17Speaker 1: gone over. Sorry, friends, and I'm not having it this sea.
- 26:19Speaker 1: I'm going to the super Bowl. M My favorite part
- 26:21Speaker 1: is printing off the really fun prop sheets and you know,
- 26:24Speaker 1: guessing on the anthem length and the color of the gatorade,
- 26:26Speaker 1: and who's going to score a touchdown, and who's gonna
- 26:28Speaker 1: be performed what songs are going to be performed at
- 26:30Speaker 1: the halftime. So I figured instead of a prop sheet.
- 26:34Speaker 1: This time around, I made a bingo card for all
- 26:38Speaker 1: of our lovely listeners on the Bench with Benetta podcast.
- 26:40Speaker 1: So here. I'm not just gonna rhyme off a couple
- 26:43Speaker 1: of things that I have placed on this bingo card
- 26:45Speaker 1: just to get you excited. Okay, so um snoop job
- 26:49Speaker 1: snoop job snoop job wears a Steelers jersey. Okay, big
- 26:55Speaker 1: Pittsburgh fan, I can see him like rapping something like that.
- 26:58Speaker 1: During the halftime show, Eminem performs Lose Yourself, no doubt,
- 27:02Speaker 1: that is the penultimate. You know, so many athletes are
- 27:06Speaker 1: listening to that song mom spaghetti before game. Of course,
- 27:10Speaker 1: we got the Bengals win, Rams win. On there, Obj
- 27:13Speaker 1: scores a touchdown we just heard from Justin Jefferson. Maybe
- 27:16Speaker 1: he even scored a couple kicker ends the game. We've
- 27:19Speaker 1: seen that quite a few times. We've got overtime on here,
- 27:23Speaker 1: a couple of seleb sightings. How do you feel about
- 27:25Speaker 1: Lebron James? Oh, he'll probably be there. He's got a
- 27:28Speaker 1: sweet at so far. Okay, quick story. For some reason,
- 27:34Speaker 1: my ass thought that I could get a sweet for
- 27:35Speaker 1: my birthday, and so when the Browns were playing the Chargers,
- 27:39Speaker 1: so I call I was maybe expecting it to be
- 27:42Speaker 1: like I don't know actually what I was expecting it
- 27:44Speaker 1: to be, but I just wanted to inquire. I was like,
- 27:47Speaker 1: what's the deal with the sweets? Like it's my thirtieth birthday?
- 27:50Speaker 1: I dropped a little and work for ant of them
- 27:52Speaker 1: worker and they're like, it's okay. So the bottom range
- 27:56Speaker 1: is twelve thousand dollars and I was like, oh, I
- 27:59Speaker 1: don't have to call you back for one game. So
- 28:03Speaker 1: Lebron James dropped some coin on a suite at so
- 28:06Speaker 1: Far he will definitely be there in attendance. Um, you
- 28:09Speaker 1: know when we saw at the NFC Championship game Leonardo DiCaprio,
- 28:13Speaker 1: he is also on the Bengo card. I feel like
- 28:15Speaker 1: we could see a little bit of action there. Matt
- 28:17Speaker 1: Stafford MVP, We got Joe Burrow MVP. Doctor dre performs
- 28:22Speaker 1: California Love. Where's the super Bowl? For goodness sake? I
- 28:26Speaker 1: mean I think that that actually might even open the
- 28:28Speaker 1: whole halftime show. Good Maybe we have a hologram of
- 28:31Speaker 1: Tupac that did happen at Coachella once upon a time.
- 28:35Speaker 1: That would be insane Okay, so we've got a fun
- 28:38Speaker 1: a bunch of fun things on this Bengo card. And
- 28:41Speaker 1: then bottom line is, I think we need I think
- 28:43Speaker 1: what we need to make a pick. Junkyard Dog. I
- 28:45Speaker 1: gotta go with the Bengals. I just feel like they
- 28:49Speaker 1: are such a fun There's just something magical about them.
- 28:55Speaker 1: This offense has stepped up, this defense is stepped up.
- 28:58Speaker 1: I'm not worried about the environment anymore. Like we said
- 29:01Speaker 1: at the top of the show, the Bengals actually might
- 29:02Speaker 1: have home field advantage. They are the home team for
- 29:05Speaker 1: Cripe's sake. And Joe Cool There's a reason why they
- 29:09Speaker 1: call him Joe Burr. He is cool under pressure. He
- 29:12Speaker 1: is calm, cool, collected. One of the things that I
- 29:14Speaker 1: loved that he talked about during media day was like,
- 29:16Speaker 1: I think he was asked for advice of like up
- 29:18Speaker 1: and coming football players, and he was like, don't record
- 29:22Speaker 1: a workout and posted it on Instagram. Just be quiet
- 29:24Speaker 1: and get the work done. And that is exactly what
- 29:27Speaker 1: we have seen him do. He came from LSU. He
- 29:30Speaker 1: was so hot when he came into this league. He
- 29:32Speaker 1: unfortunately got injured. This is really his first healthy season.
- 29:36Speaker 1: He's in the dang super Bowl. He is who we
- 29:38Speaker 1: thought he was and we get to see it now.
- 29:41Speaker 1: Rams are very special and very talented, and Aaron Donald
- 29:44Speaker 1: and Von Miller I'm sure are going to have their
- 29:46Speaker 1: way with him. But I'm gonna go Bengals, what are
- 29:49Speaker 1: you going? I'm with you. I'm also on the Bengals day.
- 29:53Speaker 1: They just have this this team of destiny feel to them.
- 29:56Speaker 1: That's like, yes, the Rams defensive line might overwhelm their
- 30:01Speaker 1: offensive line, and yeah they have Cooper Cup and Odell Beckham.
- 30:04Speaker 1: G but Joe Burrows saped a million times a couple
- 30:07Speaker 1: of games ago, and they still ended up winning the
- 30:09Speaker 1: game against the Titans. Oh yes, now, but I'm with you,
- 30:14Speaker 1: who day who By? Even though they stole that chant
- 30:19Speaker 1: from the Saints, it's fun, I mean pretty much right.
- 30:22Speaker 1: I didn't know that I had the same deal, but hey,
- 30:24Speaker 1: you know what, it's a fun Chantyard Dogs A little
- 30:27Speaker 1: bit hateful today said he was a Titans fan. Okay,
- 30:32Speaker 1: I am so excited for this next guest that is
- 30:35Speaker 1: sitting right beside me, Josiah Johnson, the King of Twitter.
- 30:39Speaker 1: How many I mean, that's your new name, right, That's
- 30:41Speaker 1: just I don't believe in titles. But thank you very much. Dude.
- 30:45Speaker 1: I'm so excited to have you on this show. I've
- 30:47Speaker 1: been following you. I've met you maybe a year or
- 30:50Speaker 1: two ago on another podcast I was on, let Me
- 30:52Speaker 1: Blow Your Mind. Well I met you probably, I don't
- 30:54Speaker 1: even know when, but through the legend Klin Car like
- 30:56Speaker 1: back when you're doing like, hey, it was like eight
- 31:00Speaker 1: years ago. It was one of my boys, Dad's killing car.
- 31:02Speaker 1: You're inviting me to a game. I think it was
- 31:04Speaker 1: USA Mexican. Don't even know what was going on. Oh
- 31:05Speaker 1: my good lit. Me and my buddy Quinn, we came
- 31:08Speaker 1: from like our writer's room over there, had no idea
- 31:10Speaker 1: what's going on? We're planning in Mexico sections, so we
- 31:12Speaker 1: literally just embraced them and started rooting for Mexico. That's
- 31:15Speaker 1: the place to be. I think, treatya Guadalupe Hidalgo. No, no,
- 31:19Speaker 1: we're taping this and what used to be Mexico. So
- 31:20Speaker 1: shout out. Are you a soccer fan? A little bit?
- 31:23Speaker 1: A little bit. I'm not gonna lie and be like,
- 31:24Speaker 1: oh but yeah, I definitely I love it. I love it. Okay, dude,
- 31:27Speaker 1: I feel like you have maybe the hardest job outside
- 31:31Speaker 1: of the players on the actual field. Do you feel
- 31:34Speaker 1: any pressure at all when you have these big events,
- 31:36Speaker 1: because you if people don't know, Ay, I don't know
- 31:38Speaker 1: why you're on Twitter and not following this guy, but
- 31:40Speaker 1: you you have an incredible Twitter I want to learn about,
- 31:43Speaker 1: like how do you find these videos? But whatever? Do
- 31:44Speaker 1: you do? You feel pressure on Super Bowls Sunday? I
- 31:46Speaker 1: feel pressure every day. I mean I think, as you know,
- 31:48Speaker 1: there's a lot of trolls on the Internet that would
- 31:50Speaker 1: love nothing more than me to put a dad out
- 31:52Speaker 1: so they can come out much. They hate it doesn't happen,
- 31:54Speaker 1: so they're gonna keep on waiting. I've got trained mentally
- 31:56Speaker 1: to not do that. I don't like that feeling, so
- 31:58Speaker 1: I have trying to avoid that at all costs. Literally,
- 32:00Speaker 1: just a lot of repetition. But there were periods of
- 32:02Speaker 1: years ago when that used to happen. I'm like, oh,
- 32:03Speaker 1: I don't really want to feel this anymore. So yeah,
- 32:05Speaker 1: so do you just like not even touch your mentions anymore?
- 32:08Speaker 1: And I'm look at you go straight to verified. I
- 32:10Speaker 1: look at every comment. Oh wow, really no, it's just
- 32:12Speaker 1: to see who's serious or not start because well, these
- 32:14Speaker 1: people don't realize a lot of them, they'll start asking
- 32:16Speaker 1: for favors down the road, and it's like three years
- 32:18Speaker 1: ago you kind of said some some out of pockets,
- 32:20Speaker 1: who do you have, like a word document. It's like
- 32:22Speaker 1: at Rachel Vanetta didn't like this tweet, and she should have.
- 32:26Speaker 1: You've always been good. But some people out there they
- 32:28Speaker 1: get a little you know, they're I don't care if
- 32:30Speaker 1: people like it, love, hate, whatever, but it kind of
- 32:32Speaker 1: crosses that point of disrespect. And you kind of like
- 32:34Speaker 1: players too, which have taught me a lot. He's even
- 32:36Speaker 1: about their mental health, and I try to change things
- 32:38Speaker 1: up now how I move and shake on the internet,
- 32:40Speaker 1: so just to be respectful. I feel like people don't
- 32:42Speaker 1: really you know, they just see that you're so funny
- 32:45Speaker 1: and you have these amazing tweets, and they don't think
- 32:46Speaker 1: about the other side of things like mental health and
- 32:48Speaker 1: social media is like I started going to therapy in
- 32:52Speaker 1: the pandemic, which everyone should be doing all the time.
- 32:54Speaker 1: But she said something really shady and I didn't talk
- 32:56Speaker 1: to her after this, but she was like she lifted
- 32:59Speaker 1: up her phone and she's like, these have been great
- 33:01Speaker 1: for people in my industry, and I was just like, oh,
- 33:03Speaker 1: you're right, but it still feels weird for you to
- 33:05Speaker 1: say that to me. But how do you deal with
- 33:08Speaker 1: all of that? If you are reading every single negative comment?
- 33:11Speaker 1: How do you deal with that? You well, you just
- 33:12Speaker 1: I mean, you become so desensitized that I'm sorry to hear.
- 33:15Speaker 1: Did you hear a lot of good stuff too? So
- 33:17Speaker 1: it's like Lebron called me the goat one day, probably
- 33:19Speaker 1: with my wife like, oh, I already know that's gonna
- 33:21Speaker 1: open the Pandora's box of hay because you look at
- 33:23Speaker 1: Lebron's like I opened up to school and everyone like,
- 33:25Speaker 1: why don't you know open up two schools? And you
- 33:26Speaker 1: know you gotta win every year and win every single thing.
- 33:28Speaker 1: But so I see what they do with and it's
- 33:30Speaker 1: changed my perspective just how I move. So I try
- 33:32Speaker 1: to be more respectful and embracing of everybody and basically
- 33:35Speaker 1: do stuff that when they're in the locker room looking
- 33:36Speaker 1: at it, they can laugh at it. Absolutely, I think
- 33:38Speaker 1: that that's such a I mean, the pandemic and everything
- 33:40Speaker 1: has been so hard on people. I hope you realize,
- 33:42Speaker 1: like how much joy you bring to the Twitter verse.
- 33:45Speaker 1: But when was I want to ask you? One was
- 33:47Speaker 1: the very first time that you went viral. Do you
- 33:48Speaker 1: remember the very first thing that you put out actually
- 33:51Speaker 1: was courtesy of Antonio Brown when the whole situation was
- 33:53Speaker 1: going on, when he was on like three teams in
- 33:55Speaker 1: like forty five. But did it get Out meme just
- 33:58Speaker 1: basically to represent him going to the Patriots and having
- 34:00Speaker 1: to do things the Patriots way you've just seen from
- 34:03Speaker 1: Get Out had Josh Gordon b Lacky Stanfield's character. So
- 34:05Speaker 1: I ended up posting that thing. I was actually working
- 34:07Speaker 1: out a company, so I used to go to the
- 34:08Speaker 1: I used to make the videos and go post him
- 34:10Speaker 1: and then go sit in the bathroom in a stall
- 34:12Speaker 1: and just watch your folks. Was growing up. It used
- 34:15Speaker 1: to be my hobby. But it's addictive, so I did that.
- 34:18Speaker 1: Then Jordan Peele actually ended up seeing it, hit it
- 34:20Speaker 1: like you know, I made a T shirt out of it.
- 34:22Speaker 1: I think he said, like, you win, Josiah, So I
- 34:23Speaker 1: have the T shirt at home. Ended up following me.
- 34:25Speaker 1: I connected with Jordan, like, yeah, I got to thank
- 34:28Speaker 1: him for I had a show on Comedy Central too,
- 34:29Speaker 1: so just thank him for opening up those you know
- 34:32Speaker 1: that that situation so I could get a show as well.
- 34:34Speaker 1: But that is amazing out Okay, outside of Jordan Peele
- 34:36Speaker 1: and of course Lebron James, who was like the craziest
- 34:39Speaker 1: person that followed you that You're like, oh my god,
- 34:40Speaker 1: this is like going to be my job now. So Ava,
- 34:43Speaker 1: but I had eventually ended up working for and then
- 34:45Speaker 1: John Legend and John Legends been super supportive, like it's
- 34:48Speaker 1: been crazy, like they launched super follows, and John Legend
- 34:50Speaker 1: was one of the first super follows. He's always shown
- 34:52Speaker 1: a lot of love and oh my god, us to
- 34:54Speaker 1: get the show it back. He's showing up to his
- 34:55Speaker 1: concerts and turning up and listen to all his great music.
- 34:57Speaker 1: How many doors has this opened for you? Like are
- 35:00Speaker 1: you able to kind of look at what you want
- 35:02Speaker 1: to accomplish on your list of dreams to be like
- 35:04Speaker 1: I can do all of these things now, Like that
- 35:06Speaker 1: must be a really bigger you know, I used to work.
- 35:09Speaker 1: It's funny, so Jason Kleman, who I know work, He
- 35:11Speaker 1: used to work at NFL Network. Yeah, it's tape library.
- 35:13Speaker 1: They're punishing me, I think when he first got there
- 35:15Speaker 1: because I was, you know, a little lippy, but they
- 35:17Speaker 1: made me like go through and check all the tapes
- 35:19Speaker 1: and make sure they were in there. And he was
- 35:20Speaker 1: kind of just starting, kind of come from Arizona, so
- 35:22Speaker 1: he's super excited. We were different phases of our career.
- 35:25Speaker 1: But yeah, it's been amazing to see. I used to
- 35:27Speaker 1: be on the other side of this. So come work
- 35:28Speaker 1: these events as a producer and be in the truck
- 35:30Speaker 1: for like eighteen twenty hours. This is a much better. Well,
- 35:32Speaker 1: it makes you appreciate, you know. It's like it's like
- 35:35Speaker 1: working in service, working at a restaurant, then all of
- 35:37Speaker 1: a sudden, when you're eating, you're paying so much more
- 35:40Speaker 1: attention and respect to the people that are serving you.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Let me ask you this. There are so many incredible
- 35:45Speaker 1: videos that you just like pull out of your butt
- 35:48Speaker 1: and I'm like, this is from ten years ago, Like
- 35:50Speaker 1: what is happening? Do you There must be some kind
- 35:53Speaker 1: of file that you keep on your computer that you
- 35:56Speaker 1: just like, oh, that's a good video. I'm gonna save
- 35:57Speaker 1: that and do you just like what's your process? So
- 36:00Speaker 1: it's real, Cereba. When I see something automatically, my mind
- 36:02Speaker 1: come up with three to four different situations that it
- 36:04Speaker 1: can work in, like if it looks like a certain
- 36:06Speaker 1: person or if his representative of a city. So for example,
- 36:08Speaker 1: like eight mile it's always great for Detroit football, basketball,
- 36:11Speaker 1: anything going like Mason Plumley. Thing you can obviously throw,
- 36:14Speaker 1: you know, be rabbit in there. Just things like that.
- 36:16Speaker 1: So when I see clips and videos, and I'm also
- 36:18Speaker 1: super thankful to my parents because we had like elaborate cable.
- 36:21Speaker 1: My dad playing the NBA, so we had like a
- 36:23Speaker 1: huge satellite dish back in like the eighties nineties. We
- 36:25Speaker 1: were getting all types of TV from all across the world. Wow.
- 36:27Speaker 1: But I just watch a lot of content, assumed a
- 36:29Speaker 1: lot of media, and it just lives in my head.
- 36:31Speaker 1: So he just got like an encyclopedia brain. Are you
- 36:33Speaker 1: really good at trivia? Pretty good? I dominate Jeopardy most
- 36:36Speaker 1: of the time. Whoa you know, we don't answer the
- 36:38Speaker 1: two hundred dollar questions like anybody who does that. They're
- 36:41Speaker 1: just novices and you know, like they're level. Speaking of
- 36:45Speaker 1: your dad, he played in the NBA. What does he
- 36:47Speaker 1: think about your career that you've created. It's funny he
- 36:49Speaker 1: didn't really understand social but now he's like a oh
- 36:52Speaker 1: he just turned sixty six to day actually, but he's
- 36:54Speaker 1: like a great So he still like doesn't know how
- 36:56Speaker 1: to like crop photos and things like that. But we
- 36:58Speaker 1: just kind of laugh about it now, like he doesn't
- 37:00Speaker 1: understand like on Twitter, like don't put the handle first,
- 37:02Speaker 1: you gotta put like a period in the handle. Everybody
- 37:04Speaker 1: can see it. But he's really gotten a lot more
- 37:06Speaker 1: into it. And it's funny. Now We'll go places and
- 37:08Speaker 1: people were recognizing me before they recognize him. That's amazing.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Is he like asking you to retweet like some of
- 37:13Speaker 1: his videos? I slide in and in ghost right every
- 37:16Speaker 1: once in a while for him. But sometimes we'll get
- 37:18Speaker 1: mad at me, like you don't post that, then I'll
- 37:20Speaker 1: post you Like okay, okay, I'm too. So what's what's
- 37:24Speaker 1: next for you? Dude? I feel like the world is
- 37:26Speaker 1: your oyster, Like what do you want to do with this?
- 37:29Speaker 1: I'm just one major mission right now to finesse bags
- 37:32Speaker 1: from pretty much whoever. When he sat down, I was like,
- 37:34Speaker 1: what are you doings? I mean, look, I'm just walking
- 37:37Speaker 1: around finessing bags. There are certain media outlets I will
- 37:40Speaker 1: rock with, certain others that may be in the vicinity
- 37:42Speaker 1: here that I will not pay any attention to, but
- 37:44Speaker 1: just you know, trying to trying to get some stuff going.
- 37:46Speaker 1: Got a few shows in the works, always doing stuff
- 37:48Speaker 1: on the right and in producing side TV side, but
- 37:50Speaker 1: that's a little slow, so social's kind of taken off
- 37:52Speaker 1: and everybody kind of understand, you know, like you're putting
- 37:54Speaker 1: up heaters all the time. I saw the Joe Burrow
- 37:57Speaker 1: video that made me crack up with the chain. It's hard, though,
- 38:01Speaker 1: Like I've literally I put out videos all the time
- 38:04Speaker 1: and they do nothing, and then you put out a
- 38:06Speaker 1: series that works, and then it's like, well now I'm terrified.
- 38:10Speaker 1: Now I'm terrified to put out another one. I don't
- 38:11Speaker 1: know what to do, Like, how do you how do
- 38:13Speaker 1: you deal with that pressure? You just keep shooting. I
- 38:15Speaker 1: think I'm a volume shooter, kind of like Cobe. Just
- 38:17Speaker 1: keep putting shots up. Some of them hit, some of
- 38:18Speaker 1: them won't. But hopefully you do it enough you start
- 38:20Speaker 1: to learn how these type of things work. Well, these
- 38:22Speaker 1: type of things don't. But I see, like the Ayre
- 38:24Speaker 1: video back in the day, just stuff that I told
- 38:26Speaker 1: these guys after. I just have a tremendous amount of
- 38:28Speaker 1: respect for you, because it takes a lot to put
- 38:30Speaker 1: yourself out there like that, and you're gonna do with
- 38:32Speaker 1: a lot of negativity, but you also deal with a
- 38:33Speaker 1: lot of positives. Yeah, you start to see people riding,
- 38:35Speaker 1: it's hard you pay For some reason, our brain pays
- 38:38Speaker 1: closer attention to those negative words for sure. Always. I mean, look,
- 38:40Speaker 1: I got called me the goat. I don't think about that.
- 38:42Speaker 1: I think about like to do with a bunch of
- 38:44Speaker 1: numbers at the end of his handle, who says some
- 38:46Speaker 1: crazy stuff to me. Yeah, and I'm just like, but
- 38:48Speaker 1: that's because you kind of expect the good stuff to happen.
- 38:50Speaker 1: When the best stuf happens, it's just like, all right.
- 38:52Speaker 1: But it also taught me again how to move and
- 38:54Speaker 1: be a better person myself and just how to treat people.
- 38:56Speaker 1: And I try to just be as positive as possible
- 38:58Speaker 1: and that has worked out well for me. Now keep
- 39:00Speaker 1: it going. I think that's cool. I feel I feel
- 39:01Speaker 1: like I try to tell myself if it's something that
- 39:03Speaker 1: makes me laugh, and I enjoy it in the moment,
- 39:05Speaker 1: I don't care what happens when I press in. Yeah,
- 39:07Speaker 1: for sure. But that's hard to keep on reminding yourself.
- 39:09Speaker 1: But it's hard. You know. We all kind of and
- 39:11Speaker 1: I don't say we don't want cloud, but we start
- 39:12Speaker 1: looking at the numbers and numbers start running up. You
- 39:14Speaker 1: start just doing the calculations in your head. Or how
- 39:16Speaker 1: many toots did I get after the first minute? After ten? Yeah,
- 39:18Speaker 1: after an hour? Oh, this person just hit it. I know,
- 39:21Speaker 1: but drug, it's it's really drug. But it's a science
- 39:24Speaker 1: and it's an art like and I think it's you know,
- 39:25Speaker 1: we're all kind of digital artists, creatives in the space.
- 39:28Speaker 1: As much I didn't want to believe that a few
- 39:29Speaker 1: years ago, it's like, no, we're definitely are shaping moving
- 39:32Speaker 1: things and also inspiring the next generation of people who
- 39:35Speaker 1: can get these now opportunities. I know, it's y'all, Like,
- 39:37Speaker 1: you know, I would have never imagined doing this. TikTok
- 39:39Speaker 1: or is musician like all of this. I was just
- 39:41Speaker 1: like listening to music the other day and it's like,
- 39:43Speaker 1: this is a TikTok song, this is TikTok song, this
- 39:45Speaker 1: is TikTok tong, like this is just the way that
- 39:47Speaker 1: our world works. Will dude, I'm so excited and I
- 39:49Speaker 1: can't wait to see you whatever you do next. I'm
- 39:51Speaker 1: such a huge fan. We all are. And congrats on
- 39:54Speaker 1: like the crazy amount of success that you've found. Congrats
- 39:57Speaker 1: to you as well, let's keep running these numbers up.
- 39:58Speaker 1: Let's keep financing these bays, firing the children, finesse bags.
- 40:01Speaker 1: I'm here to finesse bags. Appreciate you, NFL Network, Charlie,
- 40:04Speaker 1: you you got a bag for me, please send it
- 40:06Speaker 1: over you know the address. I appreciate you. Thank you, dude,
- 40:09Speaker 1: all right, thank you. Josiah Johnson, finess or of bags,
- 40:13Speaker 1: stealer of hearts. What a what a genius. I'm hoping
- 40:18Speaker 1: that he's going to come back on the pod and
- 40:19Speaker 1: we can kind of crack more into that super brain.
- 40:22Speaker 1: But thanks Joys for coming on the pod. That was amazing.
- 40:25Speaker 1: Coming up, we guys, there's a lot of things to
- 40:28Speaker 1: see and here this week, but we picked out some
- 40:30Speaker 1: of our faves. So this is the best thing I
- 40:32Speaker 1: saw or heard based it's the base. Okay, first things first,
- 40:38Speaker 1: I love this at the Dug Rush tweeted on the twitters.
- 40:42Speaker 1: Instead of the Pro Bowl, take the two teams with
- 40:45Speaker 1: the worst records in the league, the jar the Jaguars
- 40:48Speaker 1: Alliance this year. Let them play one game to determine
- 40:52Speaker 1: the number one overall pick in the NFL draft. I
- 40:57Speaker 1: this idea. The Pro Bowl is so fun. I think
- 41:00Speaker 1: the skills challenge is kind of like what we all
- 41:02Speaker 1: enjoy the game is like, well, nobody wants to get hurt,
- 41:08Speaker 1: nobody wants to go all out. Like I totally understand that.
- 41:11Speaker 1: But if you put a game that actually has something
- 41:13Speaker 1: on the line the day the week before the Super
- 41:15Speaker 1: Bowl and they have, they would have so much press
- 41:18Speaker 1: leading up to it and so much excitement still, and
- 41:21Speaker 1: it's kind of like, I think it would be a
- 41:23Speaker 1: really competitive game. Guys, I'm all for this. I think
- 41:26Speaker 1: it would be fun broadcast it. There's money to be made, definitely.
- 41:30Speaker 1: What do you do about like do the Jaguars not
- 41:33Speaker 1: hired Doug Peterson or does Doug Peterson like get a
- 41:35Speaker 1: tryout Arry for us? Oh man, well, I think that
- 41:38Speaker 1: maybe we wouldn't have the firing yet. But the firing week, right,
- 41:42Speaker 1: what's that called? Like the death week? Hell week? Black Monday?
- 41:46Speaker 1: Black Monday is something dark? Okay? So I love this. Um,
- 41:51Speaker 1: what do we got next? Brady? Is he already coming
- 41:53Speaker 1: out of retirement? Let's listen to this sound dude. I'm
- 41:56Speaker 1: just gonna take things as they come, you know. I
- 41:58Speaker 1: think that's the best way to put it. And I
- 42:00Speaker 1: don't think anything never you know you'd never say never,
- 42:04Speaker 1: you know. At the same time I know that I'm
- 42:06Speaker 1: very I feel very good about my decisions. So oh boy. Okay.
- 42:10Speaker 1: So that was from the Let's Go podcast on Sirius
- 42:13Speaker 1: xm Oh my god. I saw so many memes and
- 42:16Speaker 1: stuff on Twitter. Probably I'm sure Jis put one out too,
- 42:19Speaker 1: but it was just like, spends one week with family
- 42:22Speaker 1: and he's already like, you know what, I'm never gonna
- 42:24Speaker 1: say never to coming back. Guys. I don't think it's
- 42:26Speaker 1: the end. I actually do think he's coming back. I'm
- 42:28Speaker 1: saying it right now. Hot take the announcement. The retirement
- 42:30Speaker 1: announcement was too dull, too boring. For Tom Brady. He's
- 42:33Speaker 1: gonna play next year and then go out with it.
- 42:36Speaker 1: It's gonna be like the tour. This is my last year.
- 42:39Speaker 1: This is it. I hope that happens. I hope that
- 42:41Speaker 1: happens too. I want more one year Brady, okay, and
- 42:43Speaker 1: then finally let's end on some Super Bowl stuff. Zach Taylor,
- 42:47Speaker 1: head coach of the Bengals, had something funny to say
- 42:50Speaker 1: about our guy, just Joe. I would imagine nine ten
- 42:53Speaker 1: months from now, there's gonna be a lot of a
- 42:56Speaker 1: lot of young babies around this league named Joe as well,
- 42:58Speaker 1: So Zach Taylor, Knowler, Will nobody's naming their kids get
- 43:02Speaker 1: boring name in the entire world. Okay. I looked back
- 43:06Speaker 1: on like when Joe started to kind of like pop
- 43:09Speaker 1: into the population. It was like in the eighteen eighties,
- 43:13Speaker 1: like this is like this is the name that's been here.
- 43:15Speaker 1: That's true. It's not going to come back. There's not
- 43:18Speaker 1: gonna be a hole. It's pretty common already. Yeah. Okay, guys,
- 43:23Speaker 1: that is there a four hour show from Radio Row
- 43:27Speaker 1: one last final hot Tag, Bengals win, Joe Burrow wins MVP,
- 43:31Speaker 1: and it's it's gonna be a doozy, all right. Don't
- 43:35Speaker 1: forget to subscribe to the show. Follow us on Instagram
- 43:37Speaker 1: and Twitter at Benched Underscore Pod to see the videos
- 43:39Speaker 1: clips we talk about each week with your own eyes.
- 43:42Speaker 1: We got our bingo card, so make sure you check
- 43:44Speaker 1: that out. And guys, I am going to be opening
- 43:47Speaker 1: my dms the day after the Super Bowl on Hangover Monday,
- 43:51Speaker 1: which should be a national holiday. And I want you
- 43:54Speaker 1: guys to tell me what you got up to over
- 43:56Speaker 1: the super Bowl weekend? Uh? Was there some kind of crun.
- 44:00Speaker 1: Did you flip a car? Tell me if you flip
- 44:02Speaker 1: a car. Baby, Okay, we'll keep an anonymous and we'll
- 44:05Speaker 1: see you next week. Thanks for listening. H
