- 0:10It is. OK, it's Wednesday.
- 0:13Now hold on. Coffee with Kenny going to look
- 0:16a little different this morning. How you doing?
- 0:20Good. Morning.
- 0:21Good morning. OK, this is like a sorority
- 0:26house here. It's just us three that live
- 0:29here and we all do our own deal. Kim takes Kim takes care of, I
- 0:36guess she goes grocery shopping. That's her deal.
- 0:40Dee, I do the laundry. Dee folds my laundry.
- 0:45So, Dee, I'm very thankful on Thanksgiving weekend that you
- 0:49fold my laundry. Do you have anything to say for
- 0:53yourself? Thank you for folding my
- 0:56laundry. Well, you're welcome, and that's
- 0:59an easy job. Yes.
- 1:01OK, Kimberly. Yes, I'm very thankful for you
- 1:06loving me. You're everything to me.
- 1:10You really are. I just don't know what's coming
- 1:12next. What do you?
- 1:14Mean you don't know. I don't know what you're going
- 1:15to say. I want you to know I love you
- 1:18and I'm thankful to you, all right?
- 1:20But there's more. I know there's always more with
- 1:24you. OK, conversation at hand now.
- 1:30I done told you all how thankful I am.
- 1:33I'm thankful to Dee, I'm thankful to Kim.
- 1:36It's Thanksgiving weekend, so I just listened to a conversation
- 1:41between these two and went grocery shopping yesterday, and
- 1:46our Thanksgiving tomorrow is going to be about 40 people.
- 1:50My wife has done an incredible job keeping the family together
- 1:56because the family kind of split up.
- 1:59Everybody went everywhere for years.
- 2:02Now you've got the family coming together.
- 2:05Easter, my God, there must have been.
- 2:08That was fun. How many people were here for
- 2:10Easter? I don't know, 60, That's our
- 2:14family. Kim's family and my family, they
- 2:18all splintered. They went everywhere.
- 2:21And then in the end, there was nobody left.
- 2:22Well, the leader over there, Kim, she wants the family back
- 2:28together. And I and I agree.
- 2:30And this, the new generation, which used to be the kids, now
- 2:34they got kids. And now, now, now we got it
- 2:36going on. Now they're going to be 40
- 2:39people here tomorrow. This coffee with Kenny is about
- 2:44how much money are you going to spend on Thanksgiving, OK?
- 2:51Dee said. It is ridiculous the amount of
- 2:57money we spend on Thanksgiving for one meal.
- 3:01Now, before we interview Kim, Dee's right.
- 3:05We're making all this food now. Listen, everybody's bringing
- 3:08food. Everybody's bringing food.
- 3:10It's what we do in Jefferson County.
- 3:13Like if you're, if you're having a party here in Jefferson
- 3:16County, we're a bunch of rednecks.
- 3:17If we're having a party, we have the place.
- 3:20You bring your beer, BYOB, bring your own beer.
- 3:27If people are real wealthy, they supply the beer.
- 3:31So Dee said it would be way easier for everybody just went
- 3:37to eat on their own for Thanksgiving because the amount
- 3:40of money we spend on Thanksgiving.
- 3:43So now the interview starts. How much money did you spend at
- 3:49the grocery store yesterday? $686.
- 3:53Say that again. $686 but some of it was for our house too.
- 3:58I had to go grocery shopping. Yeah.
- 4:01But when you have a big family like that and everybody brings
- 4:05everything, you don't have to make everything.
- 4:08Yeah, who's bringing what? Every Jacob and Brooke are
- 4:12making the turkeys. I picked up the ham.
- 4:15I make the mashed potatoes because they're hot and
- 4:17dressing. Hold on, let's have Dee Dee.
- 4:20What did you make? Hold on that 11 LB ham was $110?
- 4:28Holy moly, say that again. That 11 LB ham at Honey Baked
- 4:34Ham was 110. Dollars.
- 4:36Is that on top of the $600.00 at the grocery?
- 4:38Store. Yes, Sir.
- 4:40OK, hold on now we're at 7 now we're at $800 it.
- 4:45Never used to be that way, so hopefully those food prices are
- 4:50going to come back. OK, hold on.
- 4:52OK, so right now you spent six what?
- 4:56At the grocery store? 6 what 686?
- 5:00She spent 686 and went and bought $100.
- 5:03What? How much?
- 5:04$10. Ham a what?
- 5:06Ham, $110 a hundred. And $10.
- 5:09HAM 68780 OK, we're at 8. We're at $800.
- 5:14Dee, thank you for telling me that.
- 5:16She would have hid that. Why?
- 5:17What am? I going to hide.
- 5:20No, it's just funny. Why it's?
- 5:21It is what it is carried. It in so you.
- 5:26I carried it. I carried the ham in.
- 5:29Yes. I just pay the bills.
- 5:31That's my job. I'm I'm like the dad of the
- 5:35whole I'm like Michael Jackson. I have an entourage and I just
- 5:39hand money out. I love doing that.
- 5:42I love doing that. OK, so our.
- 5:44Only other option. So we're at $800 right now for
- 5:48food and we don't even, we don't even bring in the food.
- 5:54I am bringing the. Food.
- 5:55OK, what are we bringing? Let's go again.
- 5:57I'm doing ham, mashed potatoes, dressing and cranberry sauce.
- 6:05That's what I'm making. OK.
- 6:06And everybody else is what? Who else?
- 6:09They're bringing all the vegetables, the desserts.
- 6:14OK, hold on, Dee. Soda Dee's been slaving.
- 6:18Dee, I see you made some pumpkin pies.
- 6:21I can't wait to get into those Dee.
- 6:22Makes every I mix that. And what else do you make Dee
- 6:25all of? Sweet potatoes.
- 6:27Sweet. Oh, I love sweet potatoes, by
- 6:29the way, everybody, Mark Martin says sweet potatoes are rocket
- 6:34fuel. Sweet potatoes is rocket fuel.
- 6:37But Kim Wallace? Kim Wallace, what do you add on
- 6:41to your sweet potatoes? We put.
- 6:46Syrup. No.
- 6:46What do you add on to it? Oh, sweet potato or syrup?
- 6:50When we go. Round sugar, and that's good.
- 6:54Marshmallows. Yeah, that's good.
- 6:56Yeah. That's when I go to Texas
- 6:59Roadhouse. But you know but.
- 7:01Listen, you're the best. But I'm a party.
- 7:04Planner. No.
- 7:05Yeah, you're the best. We're just getting This is just
- 7:09coffee with Kenny is about what everybody does for Thanksgiving.
- 7:12So right now we're at $800. Yeah, no problem.
- 7:16But part of that is for our house, for us to eat.
- 7:19Yeah, OK. But still, it's a lot of it's a
- 7:23lot of money because that's the way the grocery prices are.
- 7:27Yeah. And they've been, I used to go
- 7:29to the grocery store and spend 2 or $300.00 and it would take us
- 7:32a month because we don't go to the grocery shopping every week.
- 7:35Right. But now it's, it is like seven,
- 7:39$800 if I go for a month. Yeah.
- 7:42So somebody, somebody here a while back, said Wallace.
- 7:47You always going out to eat. It's cheaper.
- 7:51I go up, I go up to Twisted Tavern, I go to Cybergs, I go to
- 7:55Chili's. I spend, I don't know, 18 to
- 7:59$22.00. If I would have to do that here,
- 8:02we it'd be ridiculous. Hey can I show that?
- 8:05You can show the kids have seen it now I'm not completely.
- 8:08Done. OK, hold on.
- 8:08Come here, Come here. Show everybody what you've done.
- 8:11I am definitely. Turn some lights on.
- 8:15A party planner. So everything I do is just all
- 8:19about my kids. Yes.
- 8:21All about my kids, OK? Turn the light on there so we
- 8:24can see what's up. See over there?
- 8:27Turning the lights on. Don't forget to turn that light
- 8:30on. Oh, that pretty.
- 8:30We got one out of there. Looky here.
- 8:34Looky here. What gave you this idea?
- 8:36Oh, I saw. It somewhere.
- 8:39You saw it somewhere? Yeah, I did.
- 8:41You want to turn? Hold on.
- 8:44Well, hold on. This is what?
- 8:47Hold on. Come here.
- 8:48This is what happens when you have a, you know, a nice home.
- 8:52Mark Martin. Mark Martin told me, Herman, he
- 8:55got rid of that big house in Florida because he he drive up
- 8:57to it. Mark's watching this, Mark said
- 9:00I him and Arlene and Matt got rid of that big home in Spruce
- 9:04Creek because every time he'd go up there be a light out.
- 9:07So now, now she's freaking out because that light's out, but
- 9:11all the other lights are on. Are you, are you thankful for
- 9:14all the other lights? Sure.
- 9:16But you just mad at that one light.
- 9:21Well, it just needs. To be done.
- 9:23Hold on. We're going to turn the light on
- 9:25here. I got to get down here, Chris.
- 9:28I'm not going to hold on, hold on, hold on producing this show
- 9:33this. Is crazy, we got to figure.
- 9:35Out something that was right. OK, Kim, this is going to be the
- 9:40end of coffee with Kenny. Yes.
- 9:43What a job you have done. What a job.
- 9:45Hey, come here. Stand right there.
- 9:47OK? You are the love of my life.
- 9:51Please explain this to everybody.
- 9:53They might they might want this idea.
- 9:54OK, go ahead. They're supposed to look like
- 9:58little snowmen, but each stack is each of the kids gifts.
- 10:02OK, so we got Mila. I know some look bigger than
- 10:05others but they're the same. And there's our.
- 10:09Smaller. OK, so do you think the kids
- 10:11will be upset because some look bigger?
- 10:14No, but they're going to keep track as they open.
- 10:16And then it's we spent the same amount.
- 10:18Same same amount and they have the same amount.
- 10:21But some just boxes are bigger. Then they have their stockings
- 10:24over there all. Right, let's look at this.
- 10:26OK, Mila, that these are snowmen, Charlotte.
- 10:30I don't have my jet buttons. On them yet?
- 10:32Jade and baby Lila the newest one.
- 10:36OK, go ahead. So nice stockings.
- 10:40This looks very good up here. Oh, my God.
- 10:43We got a big family. We got so many family members.
- 10:46Look at the dogs. The dogs are over there.
- 10:50And then we went to the kids Christmas tree here.
- 10:52Then I had my nativity. A nativity scene.
- 10:55Shouldn't we turn this on over here?
- 10:59Come on. Well, you're going to light
- 11:01everything up. How come that that ain't
- 11:03lighting up? It will.
- 11:04Let me light it up. Let me light it up.
- 11:06Oh well, I still ain't got there.
- 11:09We go look at there, huh? OK, now tell me about tell me
- 11:14about the kids Christmas tree. We used to have 5 little trees.
- 11:17They all had their own tree because Grammy would take them
- 11:20out every year and they got their own.
- 11:24They got their to pick their own ornament for the year.
- 11:28Yeah. And so now Lottie's 8, so she's
- 11:31got 8. Plus, Grammy bought all the
- 11:33brand new baby ornaments when they were born, but so the trees
- 11:40just kept yellowing every year, so we.
- 11:43Because we had white trees in there, they.
- 11:45Were so every year I was replacing at least one of them.
- 11:48So I thought we're going to get one big tree.
- 11:50So they here's what they did. They put their initial on the
- 11:54back of the trees. Got it.
- 11:57So these are all the. 5 grandbabies.
- 12:00This is their tree and. Then we got new and you have.
- 12:04To replace that one I got to put a battery in it.
- 12:06It tells rhymes. It tells stories.
- 12:08Stories. Yeah, it tells stories.
- 12:11OK. A lot of mixed in there.
- 12:12I hope you learned a lot. So respond right here.
- 12:17How much money do you spend on Thanksgiving?
- 12:20This one here, She's a trooper. She likes to keep the family
- 12:24together. And hey Wallace, look at that
- 12:28hair. How come you never say nothing
- 12:30about my hair? Because.
- 12:31I don't care about your hair. You don't care about my say say
- 12:35she don't care about my hair. I don't.
- 12:37She don't care about my hair. I leave it like that.
- 12:40Well, on purpose anyway. I then respond right here.
- 12:46Tell me all about how much you spend on Thanksgiving now.
- 12:49It's worth it to Kim. It's worth it to Kim to spend
- 12:53that kind of money because it it brings the whole family
- 12:56together. Her job is to bring the whole
- 12:59Sunshine family back together. That's that's her side.
- 13:03Rusty's in the mountains. My brother Rusty's in the
- 13:07mountains. Steven is down to Daytona with
- 13:11Terracide, Mike and the other side of the family.
- 13:14They're up in the other mountains.
- 13:16They're up in Pigeon Forge with my mom.
- 13:19Well, our family's so big that some of them do their own with
- 13:23their extended family and stuff. So we've just always had
- 13:27Thanksgiving for those that didn't have anywhere else to go
- 13:30or whatever. And.
- 13:32You know how? Sometimes our friends are our
- 13:34family, too. So your mother, Dee Dee.
- 13:38How many, brother? How?
- 13:39How many? Whether of you, How many?
- 13:41I'm the oldest of 10. Say that again.
- 13:45I'm the oldest of 10 in a 12 year span, so we're all very
- 13:49close together. Ten of us.
- 13:51Yeah. OK, so when I joined Kim's
- 13:54family, you'd go to get together, there'd be 100 people
- 13:57there and and you didn't even try.
- 14:00So they all, everybody kind of split through the years.
- 14:04And it's Kim's job. She wants to bring the whole
- 14:07family together. So if you want to spend $1000 on
- 14:10Thanksgiving, that's fine with me.
- 14:12I know, Hold on. And the.
- 14:15Day ain't over yet. We we hold.
- 14:16Hold on. Hold on.
- 14:18What? What'd you say?
- 14:19And the day's are not over yet. They're still Sam's in Costco.
- 14:23Yeah, yeah. So we'll we'll get to $1000.
- 14:25We're at 800 and we didn't bring half the food.
- 14:29So respond right here. Is it worth $1000 for you to
- 14:34keep your family together for Thanksgiving?
- 14:37Happy Thanksgiving, everybody.
