- 0:25Speaker 3: been lying about for years now, and it's well, it's
- 0:30Speaker 3: kind of starting to catch you up with us. Okay.
- 0:32Speaker 3: We have this son who's in elementary school, and from
- 0:37Speaker 3: the very beginning, I was, you know, determined that he
- 0:41Speaker 3: wasn't going to go to our neighborhood school. Okay, it's
- 0:44Speaker 3: not good. So every year when it's about time to
- 0:47Speaker 3: register him, we use a friend's address, okay because yeah, yeah,
- 0:52Speaker 3: because because I do not want him going to the
- 0:54Speaker 3: Mesquit schools. Oh I mean sorry.
- 1:01Speaker 2: School, you said Mesquite schools?
- 1:05Speaker 4: What's going on with Mesquite schools?
- 1:07Speaker 1: These knew was going to get I'm genuinely curious that.
- 1:12Speaker 3: I know you from there, but you know, I want
- 1:15Speaker 3: them to go to the Plano schools.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Damn Mesquite catching astray for real. I know I messed
- 1:25Speaker 2: with Mesquite a lot because I love Mesquite. Yeah, but
- 1:28Speaker 2: I genuinely know a lot of people who have their
- 1:30Speaker 2: kids in Mesquite schools and they're great.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:32Speaker 1: I mean I haven't checked the school ratings in the
- 1:35Speaker 1: years or ever.
- 1:37Speaker 4: My schools thriving. Look at your Yeah, what school did
- 1:40Speaker 4: you go to? Mesquite?
- 1:41Speaker 1: I went to Mesquite High School and Atnew Middle School.
- 1:44Speaker 2: You're a skeeter.
- 1:45Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:45Speaker 4: Yeah, my oldest son went to Mosquie School. Yeah right,
- 1:49Speaker 4: Porter Elementary shout out.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Okay, so you said forget that we're going to playing on.
- 1:55Speaker 4: All right?
- 1:56Speaker 3: Yeah? Well, how this is all my idea, Yeah, my idea.
- 2:00Speaker 3: My wife wasn't crazy about it at first, but I
- 2:02Speaker 3: convinced her that it would be better for him, and
- 2:05Speaker 3: she's you know, been going along with it ever since.
- 2:07Speaker 3: So I got to admit a kind of panic because
- 2:12Speaker 3: the lion, i'm oney was waiting for that phone call,
- 2:14Speaker 3: you know, asking for you know, uh, some other proof
- 2:18Speaker 3: residency or someone you.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Know, because like figure it out, you got to use
- 2:22Speaker 2: someone else's address, like Bill or something.
- 2:26Speaker 3: That all worked out, you know, and so you know,
- 2:30Speaker 3: as my son gets older, it's kind of getting harder
- 2:33Speaker 3: to keep the lie going. That's that's the issue, right.
- 2:36Speaker 3: He wants to hang out. Yeah, he wants to hang
- 2:38Speaker 3: out with his friends after school. He wants to go
- 2:40Speaker 3: to birthday parties, ride bikes around the neighborhood, and we
- 2:42Speaker 3: don't live anywhere near them.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't even think about that. Yeah, like, you
- 2:46Speaker 2: want to hang out with your school friends, but you can't.
- 2:49Speaker 4: Right, that's a long.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Way kind of starting to backfire. I mean, if we
- 2:52Speaker 3: were closed, it'd be one thing, but not really that close.
- 2:55Speaker 5: So you think Mosquite's that bad, right, Well I did,
- 3:00Speaker 5: but you know it's kind of like yeah, yeah, I mean, yeah, yeah.
- 3:07Speaker 3: All right, so you know, no, people are probably going
- 3:09Speaker 3: to judge me. But you know, from where we live,
- 3:11Speaker 3: a lot of people had said that, you know, Mesquite
- 3:13Speaker 3: schools have a tougher education, that's all.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, but every district has a certain school
- 3:18Speaker 1: you don't want to go to, or you know, the
- 3:20Speaker 1: one you do want to go to. So I mean,
- 3:22Speaker 1: I haven't been involved in MISD since nineteen ninety nine.
- 3:25Speaker 2: So dang, ranny, it is what it is. Nineteen hundreds.
- 3:34Speaker 2: You're not doing anything crazy wrong.
- 3:36Speaker 4: Ish, I just moved it was fair or not.
- 3:39Speaker 3: You know, I bought into it. I convinced myself I
- 3:41Speaker 3: was doing was best for my kid. But you know,
- 3:43Speaker 3: I'm wondering if I created a bigger problem for myself
- 3:46Speaker 3: and my wife. You know, you know, we can't do
- 3:48Speaker 3: it forever.
- 3:48Speaker 4: So no, I mean logistically that's a nightmare.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Because if we come clean now, I don't know what,
- 3:54Speaker 3: you know, what's going to happen. Whether they're going to
- 3:55Speaker 3: make a scouse switch schools you know.
- 3:57Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, they probably will.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Yeah, but also like finding a house in that district
- 4:03Speaker 1: that goes to that school.
- 4:04Speaker 4: I mean that's not always easy.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Well, hopefully you feel better, But he got it off
- 4:08Speaker 2: your chest. It could be worse. My mom did this
- 4:11Speaker 2: when I was a kid, Yeah she did. Yeah, because
- 4:13Speaker 2: I grew up in Detroit. Otherwise I'd have been going
- 4:16Speaker 2: to like the worst school on the planet. Yeah.
- 4:18Speaker 1: I know a friend who's doing the same thing with
- 4:20Speaker 1: the grandparents address.
- 4:21Speaker 2: But it's a Mosquite. It's not Detroit. Mosquite is not Detroit.
- 4:23Speaker 4: Yeah, no, it's close.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Not just kidding.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Parts of Mosquite is like no Troit.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, Canis is offended. She's very offended so.
- 4:30Speaker 4: Much, I'm kind of shocked, honestly.
- 4:33Speaker 2: That's okay. I appreciate your honesty and thank you for calling.
- 4:36Speaker 4: You're putting in the work for your kid.
- 4:37Speaker 2: But whoa, yeah, you're you're you're trying it. That's what
- 4:39Speaker 2: it comes down to, is you love your kid. You're
- 4:41Speaker 2: trying to do the best thing, and it'll work itself out.
- 4:44Speaker 2: And thank you for telling us. And I appreciate your secret.
- 4:47Speaker 3: Thanks. I appreciate your help.
- 4:49Speaker 2: All right, But I think Misquid schools are great. Yeah, no,
- 4:52Speaker 2: you know, I mess around. Cannis is probably the smartest
- 4:54Speaker 2: one on the show, and she went to the skied schools.
- 4:56Speaker 4: Thanks who you went to?
- 4:57Speaker 2: What schools?
- 4:58Speaker 4: I went to Duncanville School.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Yeah, oh, Duncanville.
- 5:03Speaker 4: Started in Oakliffe and then ended up in Duncanville. Okay,
- 5:06Speaker 4: all right, Duncanville's good. You know, duncan Hill's got great schools.
- 5:10Speaker 2: His school is good, wasn't it.
- 5:12Speaker 4: Yeah, Duncanville High School. Yeah, yeah, of course, no doubt.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Okay, well, we'll see that if you win trivia tomorrow,
- 5:19Speaker 2: Misfortunes will do that. Yeah, we'll see how good the
- 5:23Speaker 2: Duncanville school system was. We'll take Duncanville versus mesquite right
- 5:27Speaker 2: over here, so wheel the misfortune tomorrow. Just the heads up,
- 5:30Speaker 2: we'll do that. There you go, there's your dirty little secrets.
