- 0:00Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Three O Take, where we talk
- 0:04all things Major League Baseball.
- 0:06Here's Kyle. Corwin and Nate Reyes, it all
- 0:11starts right now. Oh, welcome back to the Three O
- 0:16take presented by Chinook Cedry this episode 576.
- 0:22Whoa, didn't we already do 576? Am I behind?
- 0:26Wasn't 576 last episode? Well, now the pressure's on and
- 0:33you think that I remember. Nope, we're good. 576 episode
- 0:37576. I'll be your host Bob Corn.
- 0:39I'm here with my Co host Nate Reyes.
- 0:42Nate howdy ho. Casey, how are we?
- 0:47I love postseason baseball. I love it so much.
- 0:50Gets you a little whoa, gets you a little fired up.
- 0:54Watching that game that just wrapped up, man, I'm like, This
- 0:57is why we do what we do. This is why we watch baseball.
- 1:01This is why we watch baseball in October, even when our team is
- 1:08out of it, for games like this when the stakes couldn't be
- 1:13higher. They were high.
- 1:14This is why we TuneIn. This is why we lose sleep.
- 1:17This is why we block out essentially anything and
- 1:23everything in our lives until November hits.
- 1:29Pretty much. Pretty much or.
- 1:33As much as our significant other will allow us to block that,
- 1:36that's. Probably more accurate.
- 1:37Before it becomes a a, a, a nuisance, you know?
- 1:40Probably a better thing, Yeah, probably a better thing.
- 1:43More accurate. Yeah, let's talk about it.
- 1:48Let's talk about it real. Let's let's start with the two
- 1:52game series or the series that has finished up two games, the
- 1:58Mariners and Blue Jays. We haven't even recorded
- 2:03actually since that. We haven't even had a chance to
- 2:05really talk about that 15 inning game, which we don't like.
- 2:08We don't need to now we don't need to do a deep dive in, but
- 2:12just just real quick, your thoughts crazy.
- 2:16Oh, was that a was that a dig? Excellent.
- 2:19Was that a dig at me? Because that's the only language
- 2:22that I can apparently watch these games in.
- 2:24Was that a dig or? Was that one too that game too
- 2:30as well? You're asking like Game 2 or no
- 2:33that game as as well? Yeah.
- 2:38No, this is where the it's. All in Spanish.
- 2:41This is where the the issue was discovered, was it not?
- 2:44Isn't this the game where I texted, texted you guys and was
- 2:47like why? Why can I only find this game in
- 2:50ESPN or Fox Deportes? Just trying to brush up a little
- 2:55bit, you know? I mean, I'm, I'm down for a
- 3:00Spanish Homer call, but I don't I, I can't do 15 innings.
- 3:05I It's been too long since Spanish.
- 3:09Too, Yeah, good game, though. Good game.
- 3:14I I'd like, I'd like someone to bunt at some point before the
- 3:2015th inning, especially when we're just talking about, hey,
- 3:24we're blowing through every pitcher that we have someone.
- 3:28I'm, I'm assuming some of those guys didn't even wear cleats to
- 3:32the ballpark and and we're sitting there now.
- 3:35They had to go throw him on. Khloe had to go grab those
- 3:38spikes. So would have appreciated a bunt
- 3:44or two to try and move a guy up. A lot of 1st and 2nd, no outs.
- 3:50A lot of second, no outs. No, it's just not.
- 3:56So many times during that game and honestly I feel like a lot
- 4:00during this month of post season baseball I've had the thought
- 4:04of. I'm tired of hearing about well
- 4:08normally you'd bunt here, but what the numbers say what the
- 4:12tendency show. I don't care what the tendency
- 4:15show, just give up the out and lay down a bunt.
- 4:21Like stop trying to like reinvent the game just do what
- 4:26works. I.
- 4:29Don't understand it, but whatever.
- 4:32Like we've talked about everything.
- 4:35Yes, wrapping up, wrapping up my thoughts on that.
- 4:38We've we talked so much. I feel like in the early stages
- 4:41postseason where it's like, oh, interesting.
- 4:42Now there's a a massive shift and we're seeing a lot of small
- 4:45ball and teams are willing to lay down a punt.
- 4:48But equally, I feel like there's been a handful of opportunities
- 4:53this postseason where teams have not chosen to take that route.
- 4:58And sometimes maybe it costs them, sometimes maybe it
- 5:01doesn't, but it just seems like the easy decision, you know?
- 5:05Yeah, I do know. Yeah, I do know.
- 5:09No. Need to overthink it but let's
- 5:11talk about the teams that are still in this thing huh?
- 5:15Mad mad props to the Tigers. They gave it their all.
- 5:20I mean, we called it. I knew it was going all 5.
- 5:24Didn't know they were going to push a 6th in there, but I just.
- 5:32I didn't. You did this.
- 5:32Yeah. Yeah, yeah, it sucked me a
- 5:34second. Sorry.
- 5:34Yeah. I was like.
- 5:35Did we, did we go? Did did they make this the seven
- 5:38game series? I'm I'm very impressed.
- 5:42I was very shocked that their pitching could hang on.
- 5:50And in a more general take care in a more general sense.
- 5:52Like I said, I I general sense, general sense as it relates as
- 6:00it pertains to no, that's one, that's fine.
- 6:04As it pertains to the collapse. Like I again, I said this last
- 6:09episode, the fact that they pushed this series to five, I
- 6:13mean, the fact that they, like I said, they, they you, you boot
- 6:16the guardians. That's that's enough in and of
- 6:20itself. But the fact that you push this
- 6:21to five and make it a series the way that you did, there should
- 6:26be no question about yeah, there should be no question about
- 6:28whether the the collapse is still relevant anyway, moving
- 6:32on. Talking just had to cover that
- 6:35game real quick 'cause like I said, I didn't get a chance to
- 6:37talk about it. So there box is checked.
- 6:39Moving on, Mariners, Blue Jays talking about some more electric
- 6:48post season baseball. My pick My pick for a LCSMVP
- 6:57leads off the bottom of the first with a lead off Homer and
- 7:02I'm feeling real good about myself.
- 7:03I was thinking about maybe just taking a a an early victory lap,
- 7:08but alas, these last two days have not gone well for not only
- 7:17my ALCSMVP pick, but the team that I picked to win the series
- 7:22in the Blue Jays. But this game won more.
- 7:29Great ball. Game two.
- 7:31Game 2 not so much, but game one.
- 7:33Very good ball. Is this the is this the
- 7:36postseason of Jorge Polanco? Pretty safe to say that at this
- 7:40point I don't know who else is taking that title.
- 7:44He's the new kike. That's what it appears.
- 7:50I would. I would be cure what's what's
- 7:55Kiki's OPS because I'm not I I'm with you Kiki.
- 7:59When for some reason when it when the calendar flips October,
- 8:03he he turns it up another level. I'm cheating a little bit 'cause
- 8:08I feel like I heard it recently, but I think it's in like the
- 8:10eight 50s. Career postseason OPS, Yeah,
- 8:16that's, that's what I'm looking for because I'm just wondering
- 8:18if it's more like clutch ABS as opposed to.
- 8:23Actual production. Actually extra base hits the
- 8:26way. I think it's I think it's north
- 8:28at 8:50. Where are we at here?
- 8:35Nope, I don't want. Why is it so hard to find stats
- 8:38it? Is hard to find stats.
- 8:42It is. We should hire somebody.
- 8:46That is the first time I've ever looked for stats on somebody for
- 8:49baseball reference, and it was not on the first page.
- 8:55What's happening? I don't know if I'm a baseball
- 8:57reference truther. I'm I just falling out on them?
- 9:02Yeah, yeah. I think I said this like a
- 9:06couple months ago. They're like the Craigslist of
- 9:09baseball websites. It's the least amount of effort
- 9:13being put in. They've used this interface I
- 9:16think for like 15 years, maybe more.
- 9:21All right, I should have had this readily available.
- 9:26And it just is ridiculously slow.
- 9:31All right, post season OPS, he's played in 22 post season series,
- 9:38he's got an OPS 869, 15 homers. OK, so.
- 9:46Yeah. Putting some, I mean, I think a
- 9:50lot of that is due to that, that 2021 run.
- 9:53Well, I, I, yeah, the between the blend of his time with the
- 9:58Dodgers and the Red Sox, it's given a lot of opportunities for
- 10:02sure. So, but we're talking Jorge
- 10:04Polanco because this is the post season of Jorge Polanco.
- 10:08Big homers. Big homers off of big arms.
- 10:13You got to it. I and I mean this genuinely, and
- 10:16I'm not I'm not just saying this like it takes a special kind of
- 10:23player, like it takes a special mental makeup to be able to do
- 10:27what he's doing right now. It really does like this isn't I
- 10:31hope, like I, I truly hope people that are listening, that
- 10:33are watching understand this, like this isn't just a oh, just
- 10:39got, you know, just got hot at the right time or you know, wow,
- 10:42didn't expect that to didn't expect that from this
- 10:46individual. It's of it's my belief.
- 10:50A lot of people may disagree. It's my belief that you either
- 10:58have that mental makeup or you don't, and it's just a matter of
- 11:04whether that particular individual flips it on in that
- 11:08moment. I don't think you just stumble
- 11:11into a post season the Jorge Polanco's having.
- 11:15Is that fair to say? Keep going.
- 11:20I I feel, I feel as though I've said enough for you to be able
- 11:23to pick a side here. Keep selling me, I'm not sold
- 11:27yet. I'm not here to sell.
- 11:28I'm just here to make an observation.
- 11:32I don't think you can just stumble into what Jorge Polanco
- 11:36is doing right now because I was thinking about this earlier when
- 11:39I was when I was watching Take a BS.
- 11:40I'm like you, you, you have to have the whatever it is and he
- 11:47has it. Is that fair?
- 11:56Please hold. I mean, throw, throw regular
- 12:05season stats at me, throw his last three months of the regular
- 12:08season at like, I I'm not. I'm just saying. 19 games did
- 12:17this include? I think it I think it included
- 12:21last night. How many how many games have the
- 12:25Mariners played so far this post season?
- 12:295 plus the two 7. OK, so this is up to date. 19
- 12:37career postseason game. Seventeen hits.
- 12:39Seventeen hits, five homers, 13 rib eyes.
- 12:44Six of his seven hits this postseason have driven in runs
- 12:49according to Optus Stats. The first player in MLB history
- 12:52to have a go ahead hit in the 5th inning or later in three
- 12:55consecutive post season games. That's what I'm saying.
- 12:57I mean, it's all this year. It's all this year.
- 12:59I mean, I get it, I get it. No, I I hear you, but I'm just
- 13:02saying like to do what I just said.
- 13:05You're not I especially with the talent in Major League Baseball
- 13:11today, I just don't feel like you're lucking into 3
- 13:15consecutive go ahead hits in late innings.
- 13:20I don't know, maybe I'm just way over analyzing this, but it's
- 13:24been really special to see George Springer is another guy
- 13:28that I feel like always is is doing things this time of year.
- 13:33Kike Hernandez, like we. Talked about, there's, there's
- 13:36a, there's a, there's a gene, there's a switch, there's a,
- 13:44there's a button that it can be pressed and not everybody has
- 13:47that button. Speaking of button, can we go
- 13:51back to game one real quick and ask whether or not the button
- 13:56should have been pressed? Do you even know what I'm going
- 13:59to say? Yes.
- 14:01You don't think it should have been?
- 14:02No, it will admit that it was closer than you you thought
- 14:08watching live. Maybe I don't know what you're
- 14:12going to say. What are you?
- 14:13Going to say that was. That's a great exchange, Cal
- 14:17Raleigh, the play at the plate in the first inning.
- 14:20No, that's not what I thought you were going to say.
- 14:22Well, put a pin in whatever you thought I was going to say and
- 14:25we'll come back to that after we talk about what I really was
- 14:27going to say, which is do you think that the do you think that
- 14:33that call should have been reviewed the play at the plate?
- 14:40Yeah, should have been reviewed. Absolutely.
- 14:44This is tough. Like at the plate, you talking
- 14:46like it is heal, you know, did it come like, did it get down?
- 14:50Did it come up like it's so it's so hard to tell.
- 14:54I think it was the timing of the play where I didn't even give it
- 14:57a second thought. And then there I'm seeing these
- 14:59slow MO replays. I'm going OK, I see what what
- 15:03we're talking about here. I feel like what bugs me is I
- 15:10don't think we pay as much attention to I don't know if
- 15:13it's maybe what the review has done to just all Bang Bang
- 15:17plays, but I don't I don't know if we have as much as the common
- 15:21sense as we used to have the tag location, you know, where it's
- 15:27like it as an infielder, you used to remember and kind of
- 15:31feel that like if you if a guy's going feet first and you had A
- 15:36tag on the top half of his body, that foot is real close to being
- 15:42on the bag, whatever bag it is, it's got to be real close based
- 15:46on that. And I would think most umpires
- 15:47would be able to kind of make that generalization as well.
- 15:53It's not always perfect, but it is like almost like a good rule
- 15:56of thumb that you can almost kind of feel same thing.
- 16:00You just reverse it if they're going in head first if the tag
- 16:03is on like the below the waist, there's a good chance because of
- 16:08the reach that they're on the bag.
- 16:10So that's what it kind of seemed like the tag was a little high,
- 16:13like up on the side. Yeah.
- 16:16I mean, I, I, I don't know, man, I'm, I've lost a lot of faith in
- 16:22our review system this year specifically I've.
- 16:26Seen calls that were just out, like blatantly outright wrong.
- 16:32Yeah. And, and the opposite was
- 16:34confirmed or, you know, whatever.
- 16:36So I'm like, well, yeah, what's the point?
- 16:39Why do we have it if these calls are if we're getting these calls
- 16:42wrong? I don't, I don't really fully
- 16:44understand it. And and I'll, I think I said
- 16:47this a few months ago and I'm stealing it from Michael Kay,
- 16:49but I don't know if anyone else has said this, but his idea was
- 16:52like don't tell. Obviously whoever's in New York,
- 16:55these black shadows like the dealer, no deal bank.
- 17:00I think that. Great comp.
- 17:04Exactly what it is. It's the same guy Howie Mandel
- 17:11is in. He's behind the umpiring
- 17:16happening in the New York. If you hear if you hear nothing
- 17:20else from this episode, just just know that Howie Mandel is
- 17:25is in New York. But I don't.
- 17:27Again, I don't know if anyone else said this, but I know
- 17:29Michael Kay is like a believer in this.
- 17:31Or it's like don't let them know the call on the field.
- 17:36Like don't let them be aware of what the call is because it I
- 17:41feel like it sways too much and they can come in with a little
- 17:46less bias, I guess. Or I wouldn't say bias, but I
- 17:50don't know. But it's it is what?
- 17:54No, that's fair because you're not coming into it looking to
- 17:58uphold or confirm a call that's been made.
- 18:02You're just making an objective call based on the evidence put.
- 18:05I mean, in fact that should be just standard operating
- 18:07procedure, but. But I mean, how do you do it?
- 18:09What do you when you blur out the umpire that's standing 2
- 18:12feet from the play that's making the call?
- 18:15Like there's. I don't know if there's any way
- 18:16around it, but. Here's an idea, how about you
- 18:19just not have them watch the game at all and then you just
- 18:25and instead you have them playing like GTA And then when
- 18:29there's a call that needs to be reviewed, send them a zoomed in
- 18:32or and or cropped version of the play real quick 'cause I know
- 18:36you can get those files over real fast.
- 18:39And then just let him go for there.
- 18:41Go from there. Done, done.
- 18:44There's your plan. Yeah, I'll be waiting for a
- 18:47call, Manfred. So the button that I was talking
- 18:51about was was. Button was I talking about?
- 19:02What were we? What were we covering?
- 19:06Oh, Gozman getting Gozman out. Yeah. 767576 pitches, 76 pitches
- 19:18and I get it like, you know, a couple of runs walk and it's I'm
- 19:22not sitting here saying he looked like super sharp, but I
- 19:29think I think the Blue Jays were a significantly better team than
- 19:34the Yankees, but the way and they won the series.
- 19:38So like, I can't throw that much shade, but the way they managed
- 19:42the bullpen so. Then we've know that they were a
- 19:44superior team. No, the way that I didn't admit
- 19:48that. Well, he said he say.
- 19:51That the bullpen was managed, made that series closer than it
- 19:56should have been. And when you start giving these,
- 20:02this other team that many looks at the same arms over and over,
- 20:06and it goes into tonight's game with the Brewers and Dodgers
- 20:10that I'll get into in a minute. But when you get that many
- 20:13looks. And you're and you're relying on
- 20:16this many arms that often it's like, I don't know, maybe just
- 20:20stick with your horse because he's at 76 pitches and believe
- 20:25in him for a SEC and understand that there's plenty of ball game
- 20:28left and it is now a longer series.
- 20:31I feel like he just manages like it's a, a three or five game set
- 20:36and I could, I could very much see him managing his way out of
- 20:41this series because he's treating it like it's an
- 20:46emergency button hit all the time.
- 20:49Like you, you, you have to get length out of your starters.
- 20:53When it gets into seven games, you can't do this.
- 20:58And even for Game 2 when they're down by a million, it's like
- 21:03you're getting all of these guys looks at your arms over and
- 21:07over. That's going to come back and
- 21:10haunt you deeper in the series. That's the whole point.
- 21:14That's the whole point of hitters.
- 21:16I know Jeter said it on the broadcast too.
- 21:18He was like, I, I, of course I want to get a starter out as
- 21:24quick as possible as a hitter. That's what I want.
- 21:26Starter. There's a reason they're
- 21:28starters, especially for those middle innings.
- 21:34So I don't agree with that move and I'm not sitting here and I'm
- 21:40I'm, I'm not going to blaming the first two games because
- 21:43obviously the bats have gotten cold, but I think it's a major
- 21:49factor. I think it's something to really
- 21:51pay attention to. Yeah, I mean, I think watching
- 21:57that game, you're you're watching that game thinking,
- 22:02well, Gozman just looks better and then Miller ends up going
- 22:09deeper into the game than Golsman does.
- 22:12And again, this is just, you know, initial observation.
- 22:14Same thing by the way, I think he was in his 70s too when he
- 22:17got yanked. Yeah, I mean he he gave up that
- 22:20lead off Homer and then that was really it.
- 22:24Limited the damage the rest of the way.
- 22:25Only finished with three strikeouts, had three walks, but
- 22:29was able to make it 6. Like I said, deeper than deeper
- 22:32than Golsman, but it was just weird to see it play out that
- 22:35way with the way that the game had started.
- 22:38Yeah, especially with like you tied it up right away.
- 22:41You know what I mean? Like I know J Rod hit that three
- 22:44run bomb. We're obviously talking Game 2
- 22:46here. I know J Rod hit that three run
- 22:48bomb and it's like an early lead, but your team responded
- 22:51wide right away and it feels like it's like a reset button
- 22:54like all right, well, like that just bought my my starter a
- 22:57little bit more time and it's almost like there was a script
- 23:00that they just stayed on versus just having a finger on the
- 23:04pulse. And that's, I don't know.
- 23:07That's what I see it. I've seen in my team for years.
- 23:09So I can't sit here and throw shade again, but just weird
- 23:14strange decision. I think I I agree with you.
- 23:19I I have to guess though that a lead off Homer again come back
- 23:25to game 1A lead off Homer from Springer right away.
- 23:29Like literally literal first pitch in Toronto.
- 23:34I feel like that has to do something to your psyche.
- 23:36Like as as you know, as professional as these guys are,
- 23:41as many games as these guys have played, as many games as Josh
- 23:43Schneider's managed you or excuse me freaking, what's his
- 23:50name, Mariners coach? I'm not talking John Schneider.
- 23:59You have to think like you have to think this.
- 24:04It's just it's just one run. It's just one run.
- 24:07Yeah, yeah, but I don't think you can with with the freaking
- 24:12play, the place coming unglued. The the you've seen the cameras,
- 24:15they're shaking the, you know, people throwing beer up into the
- 24:18air. It's like that.
- 24:20I feel like that makes you approach your your pitching a
- 24:23little bit differently. But that's just me.
- 24:28I don't know. I.
- 24:29Don't know either man. I mean, obviously we're, you
- 24:32know, we're not in that dugout making these calls, but it was
- 24:37just, it's interesting to see how everything's being kind of
- 24:44just decided that's all I Dan Wilson, by the way, was taking.
- 24:51Wilson Game 2? Not nearly as close, no.
- 24:58Your guy, your ALCSMVP pick Julio.
- 25:03Julio. Three run tank.
- 25:08The aforementioned Joray Polanco 3 run tank.
- 25:12Punch. And throw in a Josh Naylor two
- 25:15run Homer. I saw that was his first Homer
- 25:19in the postseason since. Since the Cole Homer.
- 25:22Since the Cole Homer. Since the since the you are my
- 25:26son. Yeah, Homer.
- 25:28Still, I watched it back today and I was like, this is still
- 25:31the wildest reaction to a I've. I've never seen anything like
- 25:37that. I don't think we ever will
- 25:38again. Unbelievable.
- 25:43Yeah, man, just when are we going to start asking the
- 25:47question like did did the did the Blue Jays put a little too
- 25:53much emphasis on the on the ALDS?
- 25:56Did they, did they celebrate that a little too hard?
- 25:59Was that their world? Series.
- 26:00Was that their World Series? Because like, I, I mean, there
- 26:04was a lot about it. There's a lot about even in the
- 26:08hype video I was. Going to say the pregame, did I
- 26:11see that? Are you talking about on social
- 26:14or are you talking about it in the in the ballpark?
- 26:16Because I think the ballpark, yeah.
- 26:17I think I yeah, I saw that they played a little, yeah.
- 26:22Like I at a certain point, it's like it's time to kind of turn
- 26:25our eyes to the next, next task. You know, the team that's in
- 26:31your literal ballpark right now waiting to, you know, waiting to
- 26:35kick this thing off. Yeah, who, by the way, just
- 26:39played 15 innings and then flew across the country.
- 26:42That's. That's honestly the biggest take
- 26:45away from all of this. The fact that they spent the
- 26:48last five innings of of that 15 inning game talking about how
- 26:53this was such an advantage for the Blue Jays and the Blue Jays
- 26:56are just licking their chops, seeing every last bullpen arm
- 27:01come out of that pen. See, see that, see that door
- 27:05swing wide open. Unbelievable.
- 27:08That was a banger tweet. I mean, that's that's post
- 27:11season Hall of Fame worthy as it as it relates to tweets.
- 27:15That's I mean, talk about just sending out sending something
- 27:22out real quick without running it by the boss, you know, No,
- 27:28but we're all thinking it like it.
- 27:29We're we're all delirious at that point.
- 27:31So honestly, I'm not even surprised.
- 27:33But that's the biggest take away though, the fact the fact that
- 27:37the Mariners completely disregarded that narrative.
- 27:40They're like, I don't know what you're talking about.
- 27:44We've actually got, I don't know if you've heard about it.
- 27:45We've actually got great coffee out here in Seattle.
- 27:49So we're we're good. I don't.
- 27:51Remember who said that we're awake?
- 27:54I was listening to somebody, I don't remember who they were,
- 27:58like, you know, they brought the point where it's like maybe they
- 28:00just like the blue. The Blue Jays had time to like
- 28:03get nervous, you know what I mean?
- 28:05The Blue Jays had time to like have the build up of this where
- 28:08the Mariners just like we have no time.
- 28:10We have no sleep. We just got to go keep winning.
- 28:13And it almost, I wonder if it like to help them in a way.
- 28:17I think there's certain teams that that would obviously hurt
- 28:20and you wouldn't blame them for it hurting them, but they just
- 28:25rolled right through. They just went right up to
- 28:29Canada and said suck it. And I'm I'm about it.
- 28:38I was getting accused in the comments.
- 28:40Somebody, somebody called me out and said Kyle hates America for
- 28:44my Jays pick. And I'm like, relax.
- 28:47First of all, honestly, I was playing the long game.
- 28:50I was, I was trying to get the Jays in the World Series.
- 28:54So is that the good old red blooded Milwaukee Brewers?
- 28:59Well, we'll, we'll get to that. But my thought process was you
- 29:03get the you get the you get the red blooded casserole Lovett
- 29:07Milwaukee Brewers in that World Series and just sweep the Blue
- 29:10Jays back on home to Toronto, you know?
- 29:13Yeah, that was my thought process in, in in those picks.
- 29:16It's not, it's not about Haiti, America.
- 29:19I just, I just felt good about the the Jays pick and.
- 29:23You always just got to relax in the comment section like it's
- 29:28calm down, it's not that serious, everyone's wrong all
- 29:33the time, including you. Leaving this comment just.
- 29:37Chill, I've had some wild exchange.
- 29:43Wild exchanges. And sometimes you, sometimes you
- 29:46have time. Sometimes I have time and boys,
- 29:50it's fun. I like when you have time.
- 29:54It's just hilarious to me because these people don't
- 29:56understand that I don't like, I don't care.
- 29:58Like I, I care, like, I care about what we're doing.
- 30:01I care about the games I'm watching.
- 30:03But I, they're, they're trying to get a, a response and I just
- 30:08like, I don't care. I'm not going to give it to them
- 30:12because at the end of the day, it's baseball, you know?
- 30:19Yeah, dude, the Mariners just coming in like taken 2 on the
- 30:26road. You could say they stole the
- 30:29first one. I I'm kind of, you know, I ever
- 30:32since AJ Hinch made those comments in that post game
- 30:35presser about you can't really steal it, you got to earn it.
- 30:38I'm kind of I'm kind of more I'm I'm more in that camp now.
- 30:42So I'm not going to just throw around the whole like, well,
- 30:44they went in the stole game one, but you could say of the two,
- 30:49you could say that's the one they did it on.
- 30:51But game two, I mean a joke. And now they head back home to
- 30:56Seattle where the coffee is strong and the games will
- 31:01probably be late, right? What are we, what are what are
- 31:04we looking at for start time for that when they get back home, 8
- 31:09O clock. OK yeah.
- 31:11So oh and then 8:30 the next night.
- 31:14That's wow 833 to be exact. Not entirely sure what we're
- 31:20doing there. But as I mentioned, this is the
- 31:26kind of putting up on this. This is the postseason of Jorge
- 31:29Polanco. It's.
- 31:30Impossible to look up stats. You guys just been doing it all
- 31:35and they are now up 2O primarily as a result of what he's been
- 31:41able to do. Shout out to the bullpen, by the
- 31:44way, for Seattle, 6 shut out in ends in Game 2 and then
- 31:48obviously holding it down after Bryce Miller's effort in Game 1.
- 31:52So I think combined that's a that's three in, excuse me, 3
- 31:56plus the six tonight. That's nine in is a shut out
- 31:58ball from the Seattle bullpen. So hat tip to them.
- 32:04And one last thought, we can move on the Saint again.
- 32:09This ain't A5 game set anymore. It's now 232, correct?
- 32:15They're in Seattle for three saying a 22111 situation.
- 32:23It's a 232. There's a very realistic chance
- 32:26we've seen the last postseason baseball game in Toronto.
- 32:35It's never saying it. Not me.
- 32:38Some are. I'm throwing it out there,
- 32:39though. I know you will.
- 32:44I can always count on you to say it.
- 32:45Roger sinners dead. It's done.
- 32:48Wow. Yeah, Wow.
- 32:51Yeah. Roof closed.
- 32:52Don't matter. It's done.
- 32:54I had, I was thinking the same thing.
- 32:55I'm like how maybe which I'm, I'm kind of out.
- 32:59I'll be honest with you. I love the idea of opening that
- 33:02thing every game for the regular season, but post season, how are
- 33:05we not just leaving that closed? What are we doing?
- 33:08What are we doing? They put out a tweet.
- 33:11They put out a tweet and it was like ball weather and I'm like,
- 33:15use this to your advantage. Close that thing up.
- 33:19Yeah, make it loud. Had this place come unglued?
- 33:22Well, they did, but it was because they're getting taken to
- 33:28the shed, the woodshed, the woodshed.
- 33:33They were, the game got so out of hand.
- 33:35They're down the stretch that they were talking about like on
- 33:38the broadcast, they were talking about the like French fries and
- 33:41gravy and poutine or whatever that they have there.
- 33:44I'm like, OK, well, if this is what we're talking about with
- 33:47like a third of the game to go, I guess I can maybe, you know,
- 33:51go get a snack or something. I'm a head on out.
- 33:56You a poutine guy. Don't even you.
- 34:01Never. You never partook.
- 34:03It's honestly just a mess. Partook partaken.
- 34:08You've never partaken. I like partook.
- 34:11I don't partook partaken, I I don't remember seeing it when I
- 34:15was up there. It's just.
- 34:17Just the jumble of stuff. They just get like fries and
- 34:20like cheese curds, cheese. Curds.
- 34:22That was the other part I was missing out.
- 34:23Tater tots or something I don't know.
- 34:25And then they just dump gravy on it and I I'm sure it's all
- 34:30right. What I do remember seeing and I
- 34:33had to I was looking at pictures from our trip when I went up
- 34:36there this summer when they when they beat the I think they beat
- 34:41the Yankees men wouldn't have been hard, but the we
- 34:46unnecessary. I took pictures of the like
- 34:50little tender, their version of the tender bucket and they got
- 34:53this thing which I don't even I don't know if you can see it's
- 34:57this Heinz plum sauce. And like that's their ketchup.
- 35:04Well, it's not their ketchup, but it's it was as readily
- 35:07available as you would find like honey mustard or BBQ or ketchup.
- 35:12At that, put that thing up there again.
- 35:14Yeah, this is. Who's got the ox AUX prunes?
- 35:20Ox prunes? Sorry for anyone that speaks
- 35:24French. I mean it's it's prune.
- 35:30It's Yep, Kraft Heinz Canada. Oh yeah, Heinz Canada.
- 35:37Not important. We don't need to be talking
- 35:39about ox plumes, but yeah, that that was a sauce.
- 35:42That that was a sauce that they that came with the tender.
- 35:45I didn't have it. I was scared.
- 35:47I I. I would be too.
- 35:49I was like, has this been vetted?
- 35:51Do we know if this has been approved by the FDA?
- 35:54I can't get a link in English. Everything's in French.
- 35:57Well, brittsuperstore.com. Yeah, let's take that word for
- 36:03it. Like beans and white bread.
- 36:06Beans in it. It's gone.
- 36:08We've gone too. Far.
- 36:10Never. I'll talk, I'll throw shade.
- 36:13All over the whole country. Look, Canada, Sorry, this is
- 36:17just at least what we've seen thus far.
- 36:19Not to say the series is over, but this is just a little bit of
- 36:26a little bit of payback for all that noise.
- 36:28Y'all were talking on Canada Day.
- 36:30Little. Wasn't I heard a little?
- 36:33Sharper of a of a knife turn. It wasn't just your regular
- 36:36Canada Day pride. When I was up there, it was
- 36:39like, yeah, Canada Day, but also suck at America and I'm like,
- 36:43I'm going home now, I'm out. It wasn't wasn't today like
- 36:47their their Thanksgiving. Yeah, Canadian Thanksgiving.
- 36:51Yeah. So the fact that the Mariners.
- 36:52Which is what by the? Humiliated them.
- 36:54I don't know, I think they still do Turkey.
- 36:56I saw they had a Turkey in the booth.
- 36:57I'm like, OK I. Guess what event are they
- 37:01celebrating? I mean, according to Wikipedia,
- 37:12a celebration of being thankful for what one has in the bounty
- 37:15of the previous year. So they just stole our holiday.
- 37:21Unlike the US holiday, unlike the US holiday, it has distinct
- 37:26origins rooted in earlier feasts of gratitude.
- 37:28And it's not directly tied to the story of Plymouth Rock in
- 37:30America. American nations founding.
- 37:34Yeah. So it's literally they just want
- 37:35to be happy and grateful and all that stuff, which is cool, but
- 37:38like, it's not, it's not the. American don't call it.
- 37:41Thanksgiving. Yeah.
- 37:43Anyway, Speaking of Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for
- 37:47this game one between the Dodgers and Brewers.
- 37:52Why is that? Well, we got to see, dare I say,
- 37:57given the circumstances. Best start of the postseason.
- 38:08Well, I was going to say, one of the best postseason starts we've
- 38:11ever seen is that fair. 8 innings, one hit on the road, 10
- 38:20strikeouts to set the tone for a best of seven.
- 38:25I didn't say the best, I said one of the best.
- 38:28Is that fair rank? One can make that argument.
- 38:32I'm making that argument. I'm the one.
- 38:34Dominated. I mean, this was the Blake Snell
- 38:38show until, well, I'm not even going to put, I'm not going to,
- 38:44I'm not going to put blame on on Rokie.
- 38:46I mean, yeah, he didn't have the, he wasn't as sharp as he
- 38:48has been, wasn't terribly sharp. But let me ask you this because
- 38:52it was talked about, saw people going back and forth about it.
- 38:56Would you have brought Snell back out for the 9th?
- 38:59Yeah. Really.
- 39:01Yeah, How many was he at, though?
- 39:03It was like 100 and it's like 100 and 507.
- 39:11It was over 100 I believe. It's tough.
- 39:14I mean, rookies looked pretty solid in this role the whole
- 39:18post season, so maybe not. That wasn't my questionable.
- 39:25That wasn't what I made note of. I didn't like Uribe coming in
- 39:32for the Brewers. I didn't like that.
- 39:35I don't like I did. I understand we got to keep it
- 39:38at 1:00, but like, I don't, I don't like because look what
- 39:42happened now it's not a closed situation and now you're showing
- 39:47your little bit of weakness and they got to you 'cause they did
- 39:50get to them. And that's all that takes for
- 39:54the rest of that series to say, hey, we've got to them already.
- 39:58I don't like it. No, I disagree.
- 40:00You're you're literally. Caleb Durbin keeping his back
- 40:06leg planted and wearing that pitch with the bases loaded in
- 40:09the bottom line away, away from not even thinking about that
- 40:17point you just made about whether you whether you should
- 40:20have brought him in or whether you should have saved him for a
- 40:22Game 2 and or and beyond. I mean, we'll see him again.
- 40:25But to your point, you you're a hit pit.
- 40:30You're you're what, 6 inches away?
- 40:34Unbelievably. That's what I'm saying.
- 40:35We're doing getting out of the way.
- 40:37What happened to baseball? I don't. 6 inches away from not
- 40:40even this not even being a conversation.
- 40:41Where that? How many times did you yell from
- 40:44the dugout wear that if anyone got out of the way you yelled.
- 40:50Is that a not a thing anymore? I don't know, You'd typically
- 40:53let the guy hear about it when he came back into the dugout.
- 40:55Off the teeth if it meant that it was going to tie the game in
- 40:58the 9th. Base is loaded too.
- 41:02Man, I I understand it and that's the crazy.
- 41:05Thing that's how baseball works. When the bases are loaded and
- 41:08you get hit by a pitch, it's a guaranteed run.
- 41:10It's not like the umpire. It's not left up to the umpire's
- 41:13discretion. Like oh, should I wore to run
- 41:15here? No, like that's the beauty in
- 41:17getting hit when the bases are loaded because it's an automatic
- 41:19run. And in this situation, it ties
- 41:21the game a really, a really important game in the 9th inning
- 41:25kind of as you're trying to, you know, work your way to win the
- 41:29World Series. But that's just That's neither
- 41:31here nor there. I just, I didn't like the Uribe.
- 41:34I, I don't see the point of it. I didn't see the point of it.
- 41:40You're telling me that you couldn't get 3 outs from someone
- 41:45else and and try to keep that at a one or two run ball game.
- 41:48But now, I mean, you almost kind of, I'm not going to say burned
- 41:52him for tomorrow because it's the post season, but like it's a
- 41:55lot of pitches and he showed weakness and they they got a lot
- 41:58of good looks at him, a lot of good swings for so, you know, a
- 42:01couple walks like I, I just, I didn't see the point of it.
- 42:05It put him in a weird spot. No, because if if he holds him
- 42:11there, Durbin actually does wear it.
- 42:14They go on to win the game. You're looking at that going,
- 42:16that was brilliant bullpen management because you kept it.
- 42:19You kept it a one run game. It wasn't though because he gave
- 42:22up one because they went up to nothing.
- 42:25It was 1 nothing and then they went up to nothing.
- 42:28So fair. I think it would have bailed
- 42:31out. I was thinking my best case
- 42:32scenario. Yeah, I think it would have
- 42:34bailed him out and covered that up because sometimes that does
- 42:37happen. Or yeah, maybe that was the
- 42:39point I was trying to make. Yeah.
- 42:41I think it's just a a weird decision, but it is what it is.
- 42:45Can we talk about that double play?
- 42:46How? Have we not talked about the
- 42:48double play? Oh my goodness, I so he.
- 42:51OK, so I know I've said on here before that there have been
- 42:55moments whether regular season or postseason where I could
- 43:00just, I, I'm sitting there watching a game for 345, even 6
- 43:04Indians sometimes and there's just, you know, nothing really
- 43:07doing in this case, Blake Snell is just, you know, cruising
- 43:10along. And then I'm like, what's that
- 43:16noise? Oh, it's Rookie around the
- 43:18corner letting me know that he has to go outside.
- 43:21So I'm like. Hey buddy, you got to go
- 43:22outside. Let's go outside.
- 43:24I come back in. I come back in to a, a, a feed
- 43:29filled with nothing but tweets about what just happened and
- 43:33screenshots of just confused faces both on and off the field.
- 43:39And then I see your text of what the world just happened.
- 43:42And then I see the, the replay and I'm hearing, I'm hearing
- 43:47forced out at home and I'm like, do we not realize that this was
- 43:51a fly ball, that this was a fly ball out?
- 43:53And then I see the replay again, because I'm not watching it live
- 43:57because I, when I, when I went back and watched the full like 5
- 44:00second segment or five minute segment where they were like
- 44:03talking about it and, and you know, sort of sifting through
- 44:06all the, the replays and all that stuff.
- 44:09I'm like, OK, now I see that it hit the wall here.
- 44:13But in my in my initial understanding, I see a family
- 44:17ball caught, snags robbed, almost thrown into home and I
- 44:24see Contreras like doing a first baseman stretch.
- 44:26I'm like, what's happening? Did they change the rules?
- 44:30What? Why?
- 44:32Why are we trying to beat the throw home instead of trying to
- 44:36avoid A tag? I don't know.
- 44:37But anyway, what an insane double play that was.
- 44:42Unbelievable. I mean, that is another point to
- 44:45this too, was that that likely should have cleared the bases if
- 44:50you know, if not been a Grand Slam, such a turn of events that
- 44:56like that game could have been over a lot quicker.
- 45:00But yeah, to to clank it. I'm not even going to really say
- 45:04clank it because it was, you know, crashing up against the
- 45:07wall trying to make a play, but pops out of the glove, hits the
- 45:09wall. Apparently runners can't see it.
- 45:12They did show on the replay that the left field umpire, because
- 45:19you remember, we've got a a couple more umpires now that
- 45:22post season, which is top tier left field umpires running out
- 45:27saying no catch, no catch. And that's his call.
- 45:32So like, yes, there's only so much you can do as a base
- 45:36runner. I can't totally blame the
- 45:38Dodgers, but it was a big, big mistake.
- 45:43Could have cost them game one. Almost did.
- 45:47But yeah, I glove off the wall, back into the glove, cut off man
- 45:54to shortstop, throws it home, get the force.
- 45:58Which is wild to me that like, if you see that ball getting
- 46:00thrown in, why are you and how do you not beat that?
- 46:04How do you not get home? I think that was Freddie
- 46:07running. No Say Oscar.
- 46:10Stay Oscar running. That's right.
- 46:14And then Contreras was like, I'm not even going to risk throwing
- 46:17this thing. I'll just walk it down the 3rd.
- 46:20And again, once you saw that call it home being called out.
- 46:25How does Will Smith not take off and go to 3rd?
- 46:29But he doesn't. Just a weird situation.
- 46:33Very, very strange. I can't really fault anybody.
- 46:39This shit very bizarre. Yeah play because what's it I
- 46:44can never remember the main the the main guy on the broadcast.
- 46:49It's with. It's with.
- 46:51Who's that Frank Core and. Darling.
- 46:56Yeah, Rhonda. Who's the main guy though?
- 46:58I don't. Know.
- 47:01Is that Burkhardt? No Burkhardt's Fox, I think.
- 47:06I don't know he the reason I was confused when I saw the the
- 47:11replay initially because again I'm I missed it live in the
- 47:14moment because I was outside letting my dog out.
- 47:18Did he poop? No, he didn't do that at night,
- 47:21only on his evening walks or on his daytime walks.
- 47:25At night it's just quick, hey, let me, let me empty the tank
- 47:28and then go to bed. That's all that really is.
- 47:33Tough, tough timing. Yeah, yeah.
- 47:36So no, it's it's not his fault. It's just that's the way, that's
- 47:40the way my view and experience goes.
- 47:43But when I came back, I heard him on the call, he was like,
- 47:47whatever he said he was like, and it goes up against the wall
- 47:50and it's out of his club out and he caught it and he caught it.
- 47:53So in my mind, I'm going, I'm going, OK, that's a catch.
- 47:57And then it goes back to what I was saying earlier where I see a
- 47:59a relay home, Contreras stretched out like a first
- 48:02baseman. He's like, no, it's a force.
- 48:05I'm like, what are we talking about?
- 48:07And then I see Contreras running to 3rd.
- 48:09I'm like, how many outs are we? How many outs are we working
- 48:13with here? But what a, what a play.
- 48:17Crazy. Play.
- 48:17I mean, to get out of that was nuts.
- 48:20Truly. That's all right, that's all
- 48:22right. But credit can can fight back.
- 48:28Freddie hit a ball that went over the moon and came straight
- 48:33back down. It was like a 46° launch angle
- 48:38or something like that. Was this the I may have been?
- 48:45No, I'm not thinking of the home run.
- 48:46Did he have like a double or something?
- 48:48Yeah, that was where the camera work was.
- 48:51Little shoddy. Little, little, little wild.
- 48:59Yeah. But Blake Snell, as I was going
- 49:01to say we, I cannot stress enough how how enjoyable it was
- 49:06to watch this performance. I mean, just dominant and it it
- 49:09continues. I, I know it's October and it's
- 49:11we're not talking regular season numbers here anymore, but I, I,
- 49:15I would like to think that October Blake Snell is just a
- 49:20continuation of second-half Blake Snell, which as we know is
- 49:23very, very, very good. So was I expecting this?
- 49:29No, but am I surprised? Not at all.
- 49:36And look, we can talk about the fact that, well, he didn't go
- 49:38out for the ninth. Should have gone out for the
- 49:40ninth, honestly. Good on Dave Roberts for letting
- 49:43him handle the 8th because I I for a split second there I was
- 49:47like. Yeah, I'm going to pull.
- 49:48Him here, isn't he? I'm sure he was uncomfortable
- 49:50just letting that happen. Yeah.
- 49:53Unbelievable start. Unbelievable start.
- 49:56I mean, that's this is this is what I feared.
- 50:03This is what I feared with the last series with the Phillies,
- 50:09not saying that the Phillies would have come back and and won
- 50:12that series or, or just specifically if they get out of
- 50:15that jam and you know, the throw is made.
- 50:19I don't know if they come back and win and and end up taking
- 50:21the series. But like the Dodgers just feel
- 50:26like it's, you know, you give them an inch and they and they
- 50:28will take a mile and you need to step on their throats.
- 50:35So I'm hoping that the Brewers just kind of take this one on
- 50:40the chin and, like, figure it out.
- 50:43How did the Because I know, honestly, regardless what
- 50:48numbers say, I know how I feel about the Mariners chances with
- 50:53three games at home beat up to nothing.
- 50:57But what are the Dodgers numbers at home?
- 51:00Yeah, they were 52 and 29 at home this year.
- 51:06Yeah, so, so now I mean the Brew Crew, they they got to win
- 51:11tomorrow and they have to have to get one in LA, which is not
- 51:16easy. Tomorrow, Game 2 is a must win.
- 51:27I'm just going to go ahead. And say it must win.
- 51:29I don't like throwing must wins at game twos very often, but.
- 51:33This is it. Given the circumstances, Game 2
- 51:36is a must win. Yeah, need if you're going, if
- 51:38you're the Brewers, Let's see. You know the thing I hate about
- 51:47MLB.com is they don't give you the probables anymore.
- 51:50Like on the on the home screen. Yoshi versus Freddy.
- 51:58Yoshi's ready, dude. Did you see him doing his?
- 52:01His yoga? Yeah, dude, you saw that.
- 52:07Isn't that crazy? Wild.
- 52:09Man's dialed in. Man is dialed in so.
- 52:13And Freddie did not look great against the Cubs on his last
- 52:17start out, so that'll be interesting little bounce back.
- 52:23But I mean, that's who you'd want in a in an unofficial must
- 52:28win yeah game too regardless. I'm going to needle something
- 52:33out of that offense. Yeah.
- 52:35Tip your cap, Blake. You had our number tonight, but
- 52:39now it's time to go. Our as in the Brewers, you're
- 52:46not saying our as in you and I be Brewers fans.
- 52:51I'm put me in a casserole and call me from from.
- 52:56No, that's no we've been getting called out for our anti Dodger
- 53:00bias the last three years. By the way, I don't know if you
- 53:03know that have been getting you know, the receipts have been
- 53:08receipts have been laid out and it's hard to it's hard to defend
- 53:14on our behalf. You know I.
- 53:15Don't need to defend anything. Well.
- 53:22We're all sick of it. We know it.
- 53:25They know it. They.
- 53:29Yeah, I don't know why we're special in that regard.
- 53:31Like literally everybody's got Dodger fatigue.
- 53:34I don't know why we're being called out in particular.
- 53:36But you know what? Receipts are receipts.
- 53:39And I respect, I respect any effort that's made that that
- 53:43uses factual evidence to make a case against us.
- 53:46And not just, well, you go as an idiot.
- 53:48No, I didn't mean that. I was literally just talking
- 53:51from those. Personnel I know, I know of the
- 53:53Brewers. Clubhouse, you know, you got to
- 53:55tip your cap to what Snell did tonight and you just like
- 53:57understand that. Like, you know, sometimes
- 54:01there's this dominance and that guy is known to be dominant, so
- 54:06you just kind of tip your cap and move on.
- 54:10Tip your cap. I'm trying to think, was there
- 54:18anything else from this game covered Snell cover the double
- 54:22play? That's it.
- 54:30That's really it. By the time oh.
- 54:32Oh, I know what my final thought was going to be.
- 54:34I know what my final thought on this game was going to be.
- 54:36I really thought. With the way no cough it up.
- 54:41Yeah, Is that who? He came in after Sasaki.
- 54:47Yeah, but who? Who faced Yelich?
- 54:50Was that Sasaki's last batter? Or was that Trinan?
- 54:55Why the fact that? Was I thought that was Trinan,
- 54:58was it? Either way, whoever was, I just
- 55:01thought with the way that this season is gone for the Brewers
- 55:04and you know the Euchre Magic and and Yelich being a mainstay
- 55:07with this team. Oh yeah, I thought you.
- 55:09Dude, I thought for sure he was coming through there.
- 55:13And I like, I'm not, I'm not saying like, oh, it's your fault
- 55:16you lost the game because you didn't, you didn't end it right
- 55:19there with one swing. But I just, I felt like that was
- 55:21a moment that Yelich was going to come through.
- 55:25So that's that's where we're at. Hey.
- 55:37Hey, lost you there for a second just.
- 55:39A little bit. Good stuff.
- 55:43I was like, man, this guy's really locked into what I'm
- 55:45saying here. This must be making a good
- 55:47point. No, but that's all we got.
- 55:51Any bold, bold takes here? Bold predictions?
- 55:58Game 2 for the NLCS is on Tuesday.
- 56:03Tuesday in it. But we've got two games under
- 56:06our belts for the Mariners. Blue Jays series.
- 56:09Does this game, does this series come back to Toronto?
- 56:13No. And like I said, we've only got
- 56:16one game in the books for this Dodgers Brewers series.
- 56:19But does this, does this series come back to Milwaukee?
- 56:29What's your, what's your gut say?
- 56:31What's your heart of hearts say? Set aside your anti Dodger bias
- 56:35that you all but owned up to and tell me if you think that this
- 56:40series is coming back to Milwaukee.
- 56:44No, he doesn't think it's coming back to Milwaukee.
- 56:48I feel like it fully reset their bullpen like tonight.
- 56:52Like fully. That was huge.
- 56:55Reset everything. That was huge.
- 56:59So and like if Yamamoto, he hasn't looked as sharp, but if
- 57:06he is able to have a good start tomorrow, like even if they win
- 57:10or lose like he can, you know what I mean?
- 57:12If he can keep it close and give you 6 or 7, it's like a bullpen
- 57:17that's beat up like that, giving them back-to-back days
- 57:20potentially of rest and then another travel day of rest if
- 57:27you get it, man. If you get 75% of September,
- 57:31Yamamoto, it's game over. Yeah, it's game over.
- 57:39Hey, anyways, good baseball thus far.
- 57:43I'm hoping for more of it. I don't want these blowouts.
- 57:48Yeah, it's nice to have one sprinkled in every now and then,
- 57:51but let's let's keep these games close.
- 57:54I agree. We got our what was it?
- 57:56We got our 10 three-game. Let's, let's get some, let's get
- 58:01back to some good baseball like tonight, Brewers, Dodgers, let's
- 58:04get more of that, more of what we saw in game one of the NLCS.
- 58:08Any thoughts? You know what I did today?
- 58:15What? Did you do?
- 58:18Went to Costco for lunch, it's awesome.
- 58:23What was the context? You're just out and we're
- 58:26driving by a Costco. I was telling I I don't know,
- 58:30when you're with a Co worker, sometimes you just get into like
- 58:32random conversation and we were talking about grocery shopping
- 58:36and stuff and he's like, do you guys like go grocery shopping
- 58:40like constantly throughout the week?
- 58:42And I was like, no, I was like, it's like a one big trip to
- 58:47Costco like every other month. And then you kind of just fill
- 58:50in the gaps every once in a while.
- 58:51Every other month you're you're going 2 months on a Costco run.
- 58:57Oh yeah. Do you not get produce there?
- 59:02No. Well, that's what I'm saying.
- 59:04We don't do that. It's strictly like protein.
- 59:07We just get all of our meat and stuff there.
- 59:09That's. Fair like meat and then like
- 59:12your household stuff like your toilet paper, paper towels, you
- 59:15know that kind of stuff. Sure.
- 59:17By the way, I got a message from our a little tangent.
- 59:23Our guy we have we have a friend up in Canada.
- 59:27Sean pods over. This is just bonus content.
- 59:30Sean, he just put C as his last name.
- 59:32He's from Canada, yet he was like, hey, I heard you talking
- 59:35about paper plates on the pod. And he's like, do you guys use
- 59:42like paper plates often? And I was like all the time, all
- 59:45the time. We just stocked up on them from
- 59:47Costco today. All the time bro, we're so
- 59:49upset. If if we're if it's like a late
- 59:52dinner, we don't feel like doing dishes, basically anything
- 59:55that's not like a saucy dinner paper plate.
- 59:59And he's like, that's wild. He's like, it's so rare to use
- 1:00:03up in Canada. And I was like, you all got some
- 1:00:05stuff to learn. No SO.
- 1:00:08My guy was like I was telling my Co worker about like yeah Costco
- 1:00:11is awesome and he's like you know we don't have it.
- 1:00:13Like I've never really like done that.
- 1:00:15He's got 2 little kids and I was like dude, Costco is great.
- 1:00:19It's miserable to go to sometimes but it's like really
- 1:00:23solid, save a ton of money. Gas is always like $0.30 cheaper
- 1:00:27there. And I was like you know what?
- 1:00:30Their food court super cheap. Let's go get lunch.
- 1:00:34So he finished some work and then went over there and had and
- 1:00:37he was like, I've loaded up. I got a chicken bake.
- 1:00:41I got a slice of pizza and a drink.
- 1:00:43Only had finished like half the chicken bake, but it was like
- 1:00:46$6. He got all of that plus a
- 1:00:49cookie. It was like 9 bucks.
- 1:00:51And he's like, I've never had leftovers from $9 before.
- 1:00:55I was like, yeah, homie, this is the joint.
- 1:00:59This is the spot. He's like, I get it.
- 1:01:02We walked around. I like, got him some samples.
- 1:01:04He's like, this is real. They're still doing this.
- 1:01:07I was like, Oh yeah, they're still doing this.
- 1:01:08Let's go get some meatballs. You want some pita chips?
- 1:01:13They got those over here. So I sold somebody on Costco
- 1:01:18today. You want some, you want some
- 1:01:22Cheez its. You want a foreign delicacy,
- 1:01:25It's it's literally got everything.
- 1:01:27Whatever you need. The first thing you saw we
- 1:01:29walked in was like a 30 pack of cookies for 18 bucks.
- 1:01:33And he's like what? I was like, welcome to the
- 1:01:37promised land, dog. This is the one you're here.
- 1:01:41Crazy. Yeah.
- 1:01:43We saw at Costco all day. Good, like I said.
- 1:01:46Blue Powerade? Was this about Powerade out of
- 1:01:52a? Fountain.
- 1:01:52Was this your first Costco visit with Coke?
- 1:01:56With Coke? Yeah, shout them out, man.
- 1:01:59Check shout out to Costco for coming to their senses and be
- 1:02:02like, let's get the superior beverage in here.
- 1:02:04Pepsi is just not to play. Not to play.
- 1:02:07I used to have to get Mountain Dew because I was just like, I
- 1:02:09don't need anything else. Costco Mountain Dew did hit so.
- 1:02:13It was fine, but now they got lemonade, we got Powerade.
- 1:02:23They got it all. Yeah.
- 1:02:25All right. Like I said, the pod ended like
- 1:02:2710 minutes ago. We were just talking Costco.
- 1:02:29So I hope you enjoyed a little bonus.
- 1:02:31Typical. Typical sign off topic.
- 1:02:34We'll be here. We'll be here Wednesday, right?
- 1:02:36I think we're thinking Wednesday.
- 1:02:39Hard to say. Who knows, we'll play better.
- 1:02:42We'll see how the series go. We will see how they go and
- 1:02:48we'll let you know Oh, we're going to be live streaming one
- 1:02:52of these games right yes, keep an eye out.
- 1:02:55Once we make final decision on that, keep an eye out for when
- 1:03:00we'll be live streaming and hop on and join us will be on
- 1:03:03Facebook, YouTube and Twitter slash X Yeah, hanging out,
- 1:03:09watching ball, talking ball, not keeping book just no laying low
- 1:03:15hanging out. Don't got the heart?
- 1:03:18Relax. And yeah, shout out front row
- 1:03:21Amy at the Brewers games. She just keep booked.
- 1:03:24I didn't realize that's like an every game thing I think.
- 1:03:28I like that something about that older generation just keeps
- 1:03:31booked. It's dedication, man.
- 1:03:33Yeah, dedication. All right, It's 1230 out here
- 1:03:37and I got to get to bed. Yeah, I got to go poop.
- 1:03:39Nice. See, you don't go chase, cover
- 1:03:42out. Leon is always looking forward
- 1:03:44to talking more baseball with you guys soon.
- 1:03:45Until next time, stay filthy.
