- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from kf I
- 0:04Speaker 1: am six forty.
- 0:09Speaker 2: I know.
- 0:12Speaker 3: We're not all the same.
- 0:14Speaker 2: There are losers, unfortunately too many of them listen to
- 0:18Speaker 2: this show, and.
- 0:18Speaker 3: We have an enormous number of them.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Okay, let me retract those of you who I used
- 0:23Speaker 2: to call losers who listen to the show.
- 0:26Speaker 3: You are all winners, every one of you.
- 0:29Speaker 1: And now handle on the news, ladies and gentlemen. Here's
- 0:34Speaker 1: Bill Handle.
- 0:39Speaker 3: It's a Tuesday morning. No it isn't.
- 0:42Speaker 2: It's a Monday morning. What am I listening here this day?
- 0:46Speaker 2: I don't know, you know, because what happens is uh
- 0:48Speaker 2: and gives me the days, and I look up at
- 0:53Speaker 2: I look at this rundown and whatever it says, oh wow.
- 0:56Speaker 3: The rest of us have to get them from the
- 0:58Speaker 3: calendar the sun. I have no I see what's happening.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Yeah, seven am reads Thursday, eight am reads Monday.
- 1:08Speaker 3: And they both read November third, November third.
- 1:14Speaker 4: I know, okay, so I just got Thursday, all right,
- 1:18Speaker 4: so we can redo that one.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Okay. Who else waits for notes to know what day
- 1:24Speaker 3: it is?
- 1:25Speaker 2: I do, literally, I wait, I wait, I wait for
- 1:30Speaker 2: notes to get my name correctly and you know that, Neil,
- 1:34Speaker 2: you have corrected my name.
- 1:36Speaker 3: It's part of your term.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know if it's part of my charm
- 1:41Speaker 2: or not. But moving on later on, I'm gonna do
- 1:45Speaker 2: I want to do a story about jobs and describing
- 1:48Speaker 2: this one and what's going to happen to this job.
- 1:51Speaker 2: I'll explain that is being a talk show hostes.
- 1:54Speaker 5: On Saturday on the Fork Report, I had Kathy Rigby on, Oh,
- 2:00Speaker 5: you know, they're there at the Lamarada Theater, McCoy and
- 2:03Speaker 5: Rigby Entertainment putting on Peter Pan Goes Wrong.
- 2:08Speaker 3: Now.
- 2:08Speaker 5: I don't know if you've ever seen any of these
- 2:10Speaker 5: goes Wrong plays.
- 2:11Speaker 3: I have not. They're fantastic and hilarious.
- 2:15Speaker 5: She came on and she was talking about how to
- 2:17Speaker 5: do a show purposely wrong, and I said, you don't
- 2:20Speaker 5: need to explain. I work with Bill Handle every morning
- 2:24Speaker 5: and it is every day the show that goes wrong.
- 2:28Speaker 5: And she is a very talented lady.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Oh, she's she's lovely. She and Tom.
- 2:33Speaker 2: You know she still does I don't know in the
- 2:34Speaker 2: last time she did Peter Pan, but that is kind
- 2:38Speaker 2: of her iconic role. And she is Yeah, she was
- 2:41Speaker 2: very very yeah, and Kathy Rigby is that internationally famous,
- 2:47Speaker 2: insanely well known gymnast yep, yep, And.
- 2:51Speaker 5: She's lovely and she's in her seventies and she's kicking
- 2:55Speaker 5: and I don't know spoilers, but she she has got
- 2:59Speaker 5: some fantastic work in this particular play too.
- 3:02Speaker 2: All right, so Lamarada Theater, you should be on their
- 3:04Speaker 2: mailing list, by the way. The other thing, first of all,
- 3:08Speaker 2: let me say good morning to the crowd. Neil, good
- 3:10Speaker 2: morning morning. Uh, there is Heather in today for the
- 3:15Speaker 2: last day until Amy comes back. Morning Hey, and good morning,
- 3:19Speaker 2: good morning, Billy Bop, Billy Bop. Oh god, that was
- 3:23Speaker 2: a new one. Okay, haven't heard that one before?
- 3:28Speaker 3: Billy.
- 3:29Speaker 2: No, not Billy Bob. It was Billy Bop? Right, Did
- 3:31Speaker 2: I get that right? No?
- 3:33Speaker 3: It was Oh I got I got it, Billyop. I know.
- 3:37Speaker 3: I got all excited there for a moment.
- 3:39Speaker 2: And then, of course, Neil, okay, I did say hello
- 3:42Speaker 2: to Will because I've already forgotten Willy Bop, Willie Bob.
- 3:46Speaker 3: All right, Uh, Will, good morning, good morning? All right?
- 3:49Speaker 3: All right?
- 3:49Speaker 2: Now, Uh, Amy, I wish you were here this morning, Heather.
- 3:54Speaker 2: That's not to say, that's not to say you weren't
- 3:56Speaker 2: loved and you're not.
- 3:58Speaker 6: No, but I have the same sentiment this morning.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Yeah, and I now there is a story. She goes
- 4:06Speaker 2: this little tiny town in Oregon that her family's at
- 4:10Speaker 2: and I don't know if you read the newspaper up there,
- 4:13Speaker 2: because they're trying to wonder why this newsperson torched her
- 4:18Speaker 2: car and no one quite, no one quite got that, and.
- 4:22Speaker 6: Just was like running around in the street to us.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Yeah, screaming yes and got.
- 4:28Speaker 2: I can't wait to see how many cars are torched
- 4:30Speaker 2: and garbage big bins are overturned.
- 4:33Speaker 4: I know, I was like, of all the days for
- 4:35Speaker 4: her to miss, like she's such a massive Dodger fan,
- 4:38Speaker 4: and I know that she's celebrating in her own way,
- 4:41Speaker 4: and I'm sure she'll have a lot more to say
- 4:42Speaker 4: when she comes back tomorrow.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Well, we when have Petro's come up this morning at
- 4:46Speaker 2: what seven? And it's going to talk more about that
- 4:49Speaker 2: is one thing that and I'm going to ask Petros
- 4:51Speaker 2: about that. Maybe I missed it because that is the
- 4:53Speaker 2: first baseball game that I have watched in its entirety,
- 4:59Speaker 2: and I'm willing the yuest forty years, if not longer.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Maybe fifty years.
- 5:04Speaker 2: I'm just not a baseball fan, and I want you guy,
- 5:09Speaker 2: your your opinion, you guys's opinion. I felt that this
- 5:13Speaker 2: entire series, the the Jays basically outplayed the Dodgers. They
- 5:20Speaker 2: were just a better team, and the Dodgers were all
- 5:22Speaker 2: to pull it off because of a miracle. There a
- 5:25Speaker 2: miracle there, but all the way around in terms of
- 5:28Speaker 2: just baseball playing, skill set performance, I thought the Blue
- 5:33Speaker 2: Jays did a better job.
- 5:34Speaker 6: I think you're right. Yeah.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Oh sorry, no, no, I yeah, yeah, you should be sorry.
- 5:39Speaker 3: School in Canada at one point, I did.
- 5:42Speaker 2: I did went to school for Yeah, I went to
- 5:44Speaker 2: school for a year and a half in Canada. I
- 5:46Speaker 2: don't remember a day of it because I was stoned
- 5:48Speaker 2: every single day.
- 5:50Speaker 5: Let me guess it was around the time of Vietnam
- 5:53Speaker 5: pretty much, pretty much.
- 5:56Speaker 4: Yeah, Well, the Jays just seemed like a more cohesive
- 5:59Speaker 4: team for this series, like they had. They just were
- 6:03Speaker 4: making more smart plays, less errors, that sort of thing.
- 6:06Speaker 4: And Petros obviously can talk to that, speak to that
- 6:09Speaker 4: a little bit more. But even just watching the game
- 6:10Speaker 4: the first six innings, it was, you know.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Every time the Dodgers scored or did something, it was
- 6:17Speaker 2: it almost seemed like lightning.
- 6:18Speaker 3: In a bottle.
- 6:19Speaker 6: Yeah, like an accident, right, and.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Then and then and didn't play as well. Cono, you're
- 6:23Speaker 2: shaking your head. You disagree with that?
- 6:25Speaker 7: Well, yeah, that's been the narrative for a long for
- 6:28Speaker 7: a couple news outlets that I've watched. But the Dodgers won,
- 6:31Speaker 7: so No, they played better baseball.
- 6:33Speaker 3: The Dodgers played.
- 6:34Speaker 2: No you can No, you can win and not play
- 6:39Speaker 2: better baseball or any sport.
- 6:41Speaker 3: No, you can't. That's you would lose. You would lose.
- 6:44Speaker 3: That's not true.
- 6:44Speaker 6: You don't think they got lucky. You don't think there
- 6:46Speaker 6: was a little bit of luck.
- 6:47Speaker 3: I don't think there was luck.
- 6:48Speaker 7: I think it was perfect placement in with Dave Roberts
- 6:52Speaker 7: and the second baseman who knows who Miguel Rojas is.
- 6:56Speaker 3: He's okaya, when's the last.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Time agaellow world has had a home run?
- 7:02Speaker 3: And really? Okay? All right, Neil, and then we're gonna
- 7:07Speaker 3: go to the movie.
- 7:08Speaker 5: No. I was just gonna say, maybe, you know, changing
- 7:12Speaker 5: it around a little bit, not about baseball, but let's
- 7:14Speaker 5: say radio. Do you think a radio host just because
- 7:17Speaker 5: they have a star on the Walk of Fame or
- 7:19Speaker 5: they're Marconi winner or they're doing the morning show in
- 7:23Speaker 5: Los Angeles. Do you think that makes them the best
- 7:26Speaker 5: radio show hosts? Absolutely not, absolutely not. And I'll tell
- 7:32Speaker 5: you why. Okay, I'll tell you why.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Because the year that I was nominated, all the other
- 7:38Speaker 2: nominees were caught up in a pornography ring and they
- 7:43Speaker 2: just they just were disqualified. I was the only one left.
- 7:47Speaker 5: Hey, nobody's a bigger fan than me. But I do
- 7:50Speaker 5: like busting your chops.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, I think there's a lot of default, I
- 7:55Speaker 2: really do in the world.
- 7:57Speaker 3: No, but they did win. I kind of agree. I
- 8:01Speaker 3: am not arguing that.
- 8:03Speaker 2: All I am saying is that sometimes you win by
- 8:06Speaker 2: default and luck just hits you, that's all. It just
- 8:11Speaker 2: hits you in the face, and you can't get out
- 8:12Speaker 2: of the way of luck. And I think a lot
- 8:14Speaker 2: of it happened.
- 8:14Speaker 6: And will take it and will take Oh.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Yeah, of course you'll take it. Of course you'll take it.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Now. In my case, I'm canceling my trash pickup for
- 8:23Speaker 2: the next couple of days because it's all burns like
- 8:25Speaker 2: an incinerator in my trash bin in front of my house.
- 8:29Speaker 2: That's a they're torching trash bins joke.
- 8:31Speaker 3: You gotta saw it.
- 8:35Speaker 2: See there you go? All right, guys, Wow, let's do it.
- 8:39Speaker 2: It's time for Handle on the News with heatherin for
- 8:42Speaker 2: Amy Neil and me lead story. It's exactly what we've
- 8:49Speaker 2: just talked about, the Dodgers having won the World Series
- 8:53Speaker 2: against the Toronto Blue Jays. I guess the shame of
- 8:55Speaker 2: it is, and I'm not gonna say it takes away
- 8:58Speaker 2: from anything, but you have all of the players who
- 9:02Speaker 2: win the series run out in the middle of the
- 9:04Speaker 2: field and they cheer up and down and scream and
- 9:06Speaker 2: rant and rape, and no one else in the entire
- 9:09Speaker 2: stadium is saying anything.
- 9:10Speaker 3: They're just.
- 9:12Speaker 2: And there's more video coverage of the people that are upset.
- 9:18Speaker 3: It's terrible.
- 9:19Speaker 5: And there is references to watery eyes were all over
- 9:22Speaker 5: the place.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of that, a lot of Yeah. Two
- 9:24Speaker 2: and two games in a row. I mean, it hasn't
- 9:26Speaker 2: been done. What in too will say twenty five years
- 9:28Speaker 2: or to me was.
- 9:29Speaker 3: The last time that happened with Dodgers.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Yeah, So all it takes, I guess, is spending seventy
- 9:35Speaker 2: million dollars a year on what two pelict players, three players?
- 9:40Speaker 2: I mean, Cono forgive me, or correct me if I'm wrong.
- 9:43Speaker 2: And that is the Dodgers by far have the biggest
- 9:46Speaker 2: payroll in baseball.
- 9:48Speaker 3: Is that true? They have the biggest payroll in baseball?
- 9:53Speaker 6: And then they differ.
- 9:54Speaker 3: The Yankees are about thirty million dollars. Off, it's not
- 9:56Speaker 3: a lot.
- 9:57Speaker 2: There.
- 9:57Speaker 3: You got what's thirty million here?
- 9:58Speaker 2: There?
- 9:58Speaker 3: I get it.
- 9:59Speaker 2: That's one player anyway, Petros, Yeah, that's half a player,
- 10:03Speaker 2: all right, Petro, that's the dwarf for the full size
- 10:06Speaker 2: guy gets sixty million dollars. Okay, we're let's go ahead
- 10:10Speaker 2: and continue. Oh and Petro's gonna be here seven twenty
- 10:13Speaker 2: to break this down a little bit for us.
- 10:15Speaker 6: All right.
- 10:16Speaker 4: So, speaking of trash cans burning, after the big win,
- 10:20Speaker 4: thousands of Angelina's were downtown.
- 10:23Speaker 6: They got excited.
- 10:25Speaker 4: There might have been some LAPD officers deploy down there
- 10:28Speaker 4: and tear gas. There was less than lethal weapons that
- 10:32Speaker 4: they used to kind of get some of the rowdy
- 10:34Speaker 4: revelers back in line.
- 10:37Speaker 5: So oh so there were some watery eyes in La too.
- 10:39Speaker 5: There were waterings caused by gas. But bump, it was
- 10:43Speaker 5: crazy though. We were on Sunset Boulevard and a honky
- 10:48Speaker 5: even the buses, the metro lines were honkying, oh yeah up,
- 10:53Speaker 5: and it was it was absolutely we We could.
- 10:55Speaker 4: Hear the fireworks in Glendale going off, like people just
- 10:59Speaker 4: going going crazy.
- 11:00Speaker 6: It was fine.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Our neighborhood was on fire. Of course, it was literally
- 11:06Speaker 2: of course it was I don't get this. So you win, Hey,
- 11:10Speaker 2: that's great, that's terrific, the big Muzzle TV. And then
- 11:13Speaker 2: you go home as opposed to going crazy out and
- 11:16Speaker 2: say our team, our team.
- 11:18Speaker 3: It's not your team.
- 11:19Speaker 2: It doesn't belong it doesn't belong to you. If it
- 11:21Speaker 2: were your team, you wouldn't have to pay to go
- 11:22Speaker 2: see the game. You get this, it's still our team.
- 11:25Speaker 2: There's a no, it's no, it's not our team. Okay,
- 11:28Speaker 2: it's not.
- 11:28Speaker 4: There's something La has been through so much this year
- 11:31Speaker 4: that this win meant more to people than just winning
- 11:35Speaker 4: a baseball game. It was a moment to have joy
- 11:38Speaker 4: and celebrate and be excited.
- 11:40Speaker 5: I will tell you in the woods, the graffiti already
- 11:45Speaker 5: the day, the graffiti about saying how much better America
- 11:49Speaker 5: is than Canada was crazy. I was dying at the
- 11:54Speaker 5: with just vulgar language everything.
- 11:58Speaker 2: It was very so they won, so so fair to
- 12:01Speaker 2: say Dodgers won in four point four games. That's a
- 12:07Speaker 2: reference to the exchange rate between Canada and United.
- 12:12Speaker 4: That was told there'd be no math.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Okay, all right, one more and then we'll take a break.
- 12:20Speaker 5: Okay, worst weekend for air traffic. We've been talking about this.
- 12:23Speaker 5: Of course, the government is still shut down, going on
- 12:26Speaker 5: a record now. But between Friday morning and Sunday night,
- 12:30Speaker 5: there were ninety eight what they referred to as staffing
- 12:33Speaker 5: trigger reports. That's ad FAA facility term. It means the
- 12:39Speaker 5: air traffic controllers had to alter operations in some way
- 12:43Speaker 5: or some form to keep the airspace safe. And this
- 12:46Speaker 5: can mean rerouting planes, delaying flights, all of this. But
- 12:51Speaker 5: uh not every staffing shortage results in delays. So even
- 12:57Speaker 5: though you know some were delayed, some weren't, it still
- 13:00Speaker 5: means that there's chaos going on.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's going to get worse. It's going to
- 13:04Speaker 2: get worse until this thing continues to get worse.
- 13:06Speaker 3: Yeah, No, it's not good news. Okay.
- 13:08Speaker 2: So we went from hey, Dodgers win to hey, I
- 13:11Speaker 2: wouldn't go any place to celebrate the Dodgers winning other
- 13:13Speaker 2: than on the street. And if you're cold at all,
- 13:17Speaker 2: you really want to get there close to the street
- 13:18Speaker 2: and get as close to one of those bins as possible.
- 13:21Speaker 4: So some people are saying that President Trump is sort
- 13:24Speaker 4: of out of touch with what's happening in the country
- 13:27Speaker 4: right now, because over the weekend he had a great
- 13:29Speaker 4: Gatsby themed Halloween party in Florida, I believe at mar
- 13:34Speaker 4: A Lago, and people thought that was a little bit
- 13:37Speaker 4: tone deaf given the fact that many people are losing
- 13:40Speaker 4: their food assistance this week starting on Saturday. And in
- 13:45Speaker 4: sixty minutes interview he did, he was asked, you know,
- 13:49Speaker 4: about what's going on, and he says that he blamed
- 13:52Speaker 4: the Democrats and he called them crazed lunatics.
- 13:56Speaker 2: You gotta get in credit for going in front of
- 13:57Speaker 2: sixty minutes. He knew what was going to happen. I mean,
- 14:00Speaker 2: there was no question. He was called on everything. This
- 14:03Speaker 2: was not a Fox interview, and so I know he's there.
- 14:08Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, he is out there. He does not
- 14:09Speaker 2: shy away from being hit. As a matter of fact,
- 14:12Speaker 2: just a minute ago, it was a video of him
- 14:15Speaker 2: aboard air Force Air Force one where he comes into
- 14:17Speaker 2: that hallway where the reporters are every single time and
- 14:20Speaker 2: answers questions do.
- 14:21Speaker 4: You think it was a bit tone deaf for him
- 14:22Speaker 4: to have such a lavish party. Some people were calling it,
- 14:25Speaker 4: you know, like.
- 14:25Speaker 3: Yes, completely yes, I think it was completely tone.
- 14:28Speaker 5: He's strange to do a theme that is about opulence
- 14:35Speaker 5: during that time. I'm not saying you should have done,
- 14:38Speaker 5: you know, Oliver, right, and everybody come, you know in
- 14:42Speaker 5: dirty face.
- 14:43Speaker 2: You you came to you, Well, you came to my Gatsby.
- 14:47Speaker 2: I had a great Gatsby party a few weeks ago.
- 14:51Speaker 2: That was a post post marriage kind of huge party.
- 14:55Speaker 5: Weird because well, I guess stand outside and just watch
- 14:59Speaker 5: you guys.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Only the homeless people were were allowed to stand outside.
- 15:04Speaker 6: This even invited Bill Handle.
- 15:06Speaker 3: That's true, because you weren't.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right, okay, yeah, alrighty.
- 15:14Speaker 5: So Israel, uh received remains of more deceased hostages from Gaza.
- 15:22Speaker 5: What a gruesome h process. So they get you know,
- 15:27Speaker 5: basically parts of hostages and they take the remains. They
- 15:32Speaker 5: were transferred to Israel via the Red Cross and then
- 15:35Speaker 5: the country once they have them, take them to their
- 15:38Speaker 5: national forensics laboratory and this is all the process to
- 15:43Speaker 5: identify them. Right, So uh, it's it's it's gruesome, but
- 15:47Speaker 5: US President Donald Trump, of course, said that the body
- 15:50Speaker 5: of Israeli American dual national Omer uh Neutra was among
- 15:56Speaker 5: the dead hostages.
- 15:57Speaker 3: Apparently that Hamaski Israel on Sunday.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Yeah, Now, a couple of comments. First of all, we've
- 16:03Speaker 2: talked about this before, the sheer inhumanity and animalistic aspects
- 16:08Speaker 2: of Hamas and that is using hostages, dead hostages as ammunition,
- 16:16Speaker 2: saying that we're going to use them to negotiate. We'll
- 16:20Speaker 2: give you bodies back if you release prisoners. I mean,
- 16:23Speaker 2: that is beyond belief. Also, no, this is in the
- 16:26Speaker 2: middle of summer in Israel, in the mid East, where
- 16:28Speaker 2: a lot of this happened. Without trying to sound too gruesome,
- 16:31Speaker 2: Where do you keep bodies in the middle of summer
- 16:33Speaker 2: when they're in no electricity? Yeah, the entire process, Yeah,
- 16:38Speaker 2: it seems Yeah, I mean, think about that for a moment.
- 16:43Speaker 3: And if they did refrigerate the bodies.
- 16:46Speaker 2: Okay, again, I'm going to go into gruesomeness, which is
- 16:49Speaker 2: the only way I think you could keep bodies. That
- 16:53Speaker 2: means that the electricity used for that is not going
- 16:56Speaker 2: to the top, is not going up above. So kids
- 17:01Speaker 2: can have white and they can people can cook.
- 17:04Speaker 3: Right, so anyway, must just not give a rodent spot. No,
- 17:08Speaker 3: they don't, they do not.
- 17:10Speaker 4: So we told you about this story last week in
- 17:12Speaker 4: Mississippi where all those monkeys escaped after that truck crash. Well,
- 17:17Speaker 4: one woman posted on social media that she found one
- 17:20Speaker 4: of the monkeys on her property and this is what
- 17:22Speaker 4: she said. A shot at it and it just stood there.
- 17:25Speaker 4: So I shot it again and he backed up and
- 17:27Speaker 4: that's when he fell.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Yeah, we know that the monkey was the research monkey
- 17:32Speaker 2: was being used for AIDS research because the guy who
- 17:37Speaker 2: was humping the monkey was not shot. I've done a
- 17:44Speaker 2: lot of that this past week, having any monkey monkey humping. Well,
- 17:51Speaker 2: actually it's chimpanzee humping more than you know, to be specific,
- 17:54Speaker 2: because if you remember the when AIDS first happened, Okay,
- 17:57Speaker 2: there was a well the crazy people, but there was
- 17:59Speaker 2: a huge movement out there that says this came out
- 18:03Speaker 2: of having sex with chimpanzees, and the chimpanzees were so
- 18:08Speaker 2: offended by that by that concept.
- 18:11Speaker 3: All right, let's do it one more then we'll take
- 18:13Speaker 3: a break.
- 18:14Speaker 5: You done a sad story, Yeah, it was a sad
- 18:17Speaker 5: story chipped up at Mississippi. I bet you this wasn't
- 18:22Speaker 5: even the first time a chimpanzee got shot in Mississippi.
- 18:26Speaker 5: Well maybe one of those places where you hear stories
- 18:29Speaker 5: that it's like, you know, snake robbed bank what although
- 18:33Speaker 5: this may have been one of the first time.
- 18:35Speaker 2: So the only times in Mississippi where a one of
- 18:38Speaker 2: these monkeys were shot and was not made into dinner?
- 18:41Speaker 3: Do you think she had all our teeth, the monkey
- 18:43Speaker 3: or the woman that shot them. Either way, all right,
- 18:46Speaker 3: that's enough making fun of it. And we have people
- 18:47Speaker 3: that listen in Mississippi, and you know, for those of
- 18:50Speaker 3: you who do, because they do it, they do it
- 18:52Speaker 3: on online.
- 18:54Speaker 2: We joke about, we joke about Mississippi in the South,
- 18:56Speaker 2: but we mean every single word of it.
- 18:58Speaker 3: Okay, Okay.
- 18:59Speaker 5: So a judge says that the Trump administration must make
- 19:02Speaker 5: the food stamp payments by today or partial payments by Wednesday.
- 19:10Speaker 3: But here's.
- 19:12Speaker 5: Here's some of the craziness in this. Even though there
- 19:16Speaker 5: is some money there, the SNAP reserve totals about five billion,
- 19:22Speaker 5: but that is less than the roughly eight billion needed
- 19:25Speaker 5: to pay full SNAP benefits.
- 19:27Speaker 3: So even with the judge saying, hey, you got to pay,
- 19:31Speaker 3: how are they going to do this? They're gonna give
- 19:33Speaker 3: partial payments.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Yes, exactly what they're gonna do, partial payments. That's the
- 19:37Speaker 2: only way you could, right, that's the only way you could.
- 19:38Speaker 2: And now a couple of things about this is that
- 19:44Speaker 2: the Trump administration is not paying for it, say, and
- 19:47Speaker 2: now because of lawsuits, the administration has gone away from
- 19:52Speaker 2: we're not paying, we're not doing anything pending the Democrats
- 19:55Speaker 2: coming to the table terms of the shutdown, to we
- 19:58Speaker 2: have to have the courts tell us what to do.
- 20:02Speaker 3: We're not doing anything until this is resolved by the courts.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Now I want to point well, at this point, yeah,
- 20:07Speaker 2: but they're going to appeel it, and who the hell
- 20:09Speaker 2: knows what's going on. But here's the part that I
- 20:12Speaker 2: want to bring up, and that is when the armed
- 20:17Speaker 2: forces the United States, which we're not being paid all right,
- 20:22Speaker 2: what they were able to do, the Trump administration was
- 20:24Speaker 2: able to do was to and this is good news, move.
- 20:27Speaker 3: Money that was flying around.
- 20:30Speaker 2: And take away money from maintenance in a few other
- 20:33Speaker 2: areas and move that into paying for the armed services,
- 20:37Speaker 2: paying for the soldiers, and good for them. I think
- 20:40Speaker 2: that's great. In the meantime, there are specific reserves, there.
- 20:45Speaker 3: Is money there that is there to pay for snap payments,
- 20:50Speaker 3: and the administration wouldn't do it.
- 20:52Speaker 2: So on the one hand, they found money where legally
- 20:56Speaker 2: they aren't mandated mandated, and on the other hand they
- 20:59Speaker 2: are mandated, and oh, we're not going to pay until
- 21:03Speaker 2: the courts tell us to pay what the program is
- 21:06Speaker 2: that we should pay.
- 21:08Speaker 3: The gross reality is that we're pawns.
- 21:11Speaker 5: And I say we the people that are not being
- 21:15Speaker 5: fed under this circumstance are just pawns. They're just today
- 21:19Speaker 5: anising them as you know, to try and leverage and
- 21:23Speaker 5: it's horrible.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Yeah, and the partial payments hopefully, I mean it's it's
- 21:27Speaker 2: still going to be rough for people under any circumstances,
- 21:31Speaker 2: but the partial payments will at least get some money there.
- 21:34Speaker 2: And hopefully this shutdown ends over the next few days.
- 21:38Speaker 2: So it doesn't look like it does look very close.
- 21:40Speaker 2: What is tomorrow becomes the matching of the.
- 21:43Speaker 4: Worst day, maybe thirty Tomorrow's thirty five Tomorrow and tomorrow
- 21:49Speaker 4: thirty five And that was the longest shut down in
- 21:52Speaker 4: the history United States under Trump first administration. All Right,
- 21:56Speaker 4: some scary moments in London on a train eleven people
- 22:00Speaker 4: were stabbed there when a man. Initially, police thought that
- 22:04Speaker 4: there was two people involved, but it turns out there
- 22:07Speaker 4: was just one person who stabbed eleven people. One of
- 22:10Speaker 4: those people remains in people Yeah, remains in life threatening condition.
- 22:16Speaker 4: And that person was identified as a member of the
- 22:18Speaker 4: staff of the railway who tried to help and stop
- 22:22Speaker 4: the person from stabbing everybody on the train.
- 22:26Speaker 3: You notice that, Well, that's exactly the point that we're all.
- 22:32Speaker 3: That's right.
- 22:33Speaker 2: The knife control people are got they've gotten a lot
- 22:37Speaker 2: of ammunition out of this one.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Did that work? I think we should just really focus
- 22:44Speaker 3: wanted to hurt other people? Okay, fair enough? All right?
- 22:48Speaker 3: Trump bizarre even for him.
- 22:53Speaker 5: Uh, Nigerians have this mixture of confusion and fear right
- 22:57Speaker 5: now Sunday, people across that country. We're trying to decipher
- 23:02Speaker 5: President Donald Trump's message on truth social.
- 23:08Speaker 3: As he said that.
- 23:10Speaker 5: Not only is going to stop aid to Africa's most
- 23:13Speaker 5: populous country, but he was going to go in guns
- 23:15Speaker 5: of blazing after accusing Nigeria's government of allowing the killing
- 23:20Speaker 5: of Christians or what he talked said was terrorist thugs
- 23:24Speaker 5: attacking our cherished Christians.
- 23:27Speaker 3: And so that's where we stand.
- 23:31Speaker 5: And he said he instructed the Department of War for
- 23:34Speaker 5: possible action. And I think Nigeria is going Wait what.
- 23:40Speaker 3: I mean?
- 23:40Speaker 5: It's not like Christians don't get killed in other countries.
- 23:43Speaker 5: But I kind of came out of the blue.
- 23:46Speaker 3: I suppose. I think we had time for a couple
- 23:50Speaker 3: more before the break.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Oh, this is another Donald Trump statement made in the
- 23:55Speaker 2: sixty minute interview.
- 23:56Speaker 4: Yeah, more details on that sixty minute interview. Talking about
- 24:01Speaker 4: Ice and Trump, President Trump saying he doesn't think they
- 24:06Speaker 4: have gone.
- 24:06Speaker 6: Far enough to enforce immigration.
- 24:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:13Speaker 2: I mean he was asked straight out about the number
- 24:16Speaker 2: of people that are being held, that are being arrested
- 24:19Speaker 2: who aren't criminals, and he said, and was asked, do
- 24:22Speaker 2: you think you've gone too far?
- 24:24Speaker 3: Nope, haven't gone far enough. Many of them are murderers.
- 24:27Speaker 3: He was talking about.
- 24:29Speaker 2: I think Venezuela where the murderers, they cleaned out the
- 24:34Speaker 2: insane asylums, cleaned out the jails. They didn't What am
- 24:38Speaker 2: I missing here? And does anybody refute that the same
- 24:42Speaker 2: thing with well when it happened in Cuba during the
- 24:45Speaker 2: Marcel the movement. Yeah, a lot of work cleaned out.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Castro did exactly that, you know, fifty years ago, but
- 24:53Speaker 2: not this case, I don't think so, you know, I
- 24:55Speaker 2: find it interesting, you know, I know I do a
- 24:57Speaker 2: lot of you know, anti Donald Trump stuff. I'm not
- 25:00Speaker 2: a huge fan of the president, but have you noticed
- 25:02Speaker 2: that everything or virtually everything is arbitrary. Congress doesn't exist.
- 25:07Speaker 2: I will invoke the terroriffts, I will send troops. It
- 25:12Speaker 2: will be my decision. And even when asked, isn't there
- 25:16Speaker 2: a Congress, I make that decision. I'll tell him what
- 25:18Speaker 2: to do and he means it. And by the way,
- 25:22Speaker 2: it's true he does tell them what to do. I mean,
- 25:28Speaker 2: that's the part that I have a very rough time
- 25:29Speaker 2: with on either side. If a Democrat were to say,
- 25:33Speaker 2: I don't care what Congress says, I'm going to tell
- 25:35Speaker 2: you where we're going to go.
- 25:37Speaker 3: I will invoke the terrorists.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Even if there are laws that say Congress has a
- 25:41Speaker 2: say in tariffs, I don't care.
- 25:43Speaker 3: I'm going to do it, and Congress backs him up.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Where do you go with that?
- 25:51Speaker 2: And the only thing that's saving the filibuster is fewne
- 25:55Speaker 2: who is the Senate majority leader. Donald Trump wants the
- 26:00Speaker 2: simple majority to make that decision. The nuclear option in
- 26:03Speaker 2: terms of the government shut down, meaning that you don't
- 26:05Speaker 2: need the filibuster anymore. He said, well, sixty you need
- 26:07Speaker 2: sixty sixty senators to make a decision as to something
- 26:12Speaker 2: along the lines of shutting down the government or getting
- 26:16Speaker 2: rid of a simple majority.
- 26:18Speaker 3: And that's what saves some kind of negotiation.
- 26:23Speaker 2: That's what it's about. With a simple majority, that negotiation
- 26:26Speaker 2: doesn't exist. It's whatever the majority wants. It's that simple.
- 26:29Speaker 2: And if the president has the majority, there is no
- 26:32Speaker 2: Congress none, it doesn't exist. And that's exactly what he
- 26:36Speaker 2: wants in the nuclear option. Well, here's the fear. The
- 26:40Speaker 2: Republicans are doing it. Now wait till the Democrats come in,
- 26:44Speaker 2: and you're going to see the nuclear option blow up
- 26:47Speaker 2: in your faces. That's what they did with Supreme Court justices.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Supreme Court justice is anybody that is sitting president and
- 26:55Speaker 2: having a Senate on his side, wants anybody wants all right.
- 27:00Speaker 5: In the category of listen, anybody with a heart. We
- 27:03Speaker 5: don't want to see people torn from their families, especially
- 27:07Speaker 5: if they haven't committed heinous crimes. But don't get involved
- 27:11Speaker 5: with ice. Let them do their jobs and work through
- 27:15Speaker 5: the system. Because another person, this is a person in
- 27:19Speaker 5: Ontario who works at a food bank.
- 27:22Speaker 3: Man, this can't get any more frustrating.
- 27:25Speaker 5: Carlos Jimenez pulled over to warn what he says his
- 27:29Speaker 5: side of the story, Warren a group of federal agents
- 27:31Speaker 5: that they should wrap up their stop of a car
- 27:34Speaker 5: quickly because school aged children would soon be gathering there
- 27:38Speaker 5: to take the bus. Whatever happened, it seems that he
- 27:44Speaker 5: backed up. They thought he was backing up into them,
- 27:48Speaker 5: and one of the agents fired upon him in the car,
- 27:51Speaker 5: hitting him in the shoulder. So sad story all the
- 27:55Speaker 5: way around. They will have to iron out who did
- 27:59Speaker 5: and said what. But don't get involved in this stuff.
- 28:03Speaker 5: There is law enforcement going on and you know, leave
- 28:08Speaker 5: it be.
- 28:10Speaker 6: Leave it be. That's right you have to.
- 28:14Speaker 4: So on Halloween morning, FBI says they stopped a potential
- 28:19Speaker 4: terrorist threat cash Hotel at the Director. Cash Hotel posted
- 28:23Speaker 4: on x that they thwarted a potential terrorist attack in Dearborn, Michigan,
- 28:28Speaker 4: and a family there says that they were woken up
- 28:31Speaker 4: by sounds of blast or explosions and smoke bombs and
- 28:35Speaker 4: people shouting in Arabic and the community there in Dearborn
- 28:40Speaker 4: is does have a large Arabic community, but the people,
- 28:44Speaker 4: the family who's home that they entered into say that
- 28:49Speaker 4: they didn't know what's going on and why they were
- 28:50Speaker 4: being targeted.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Yeah, and we still haven't heard anything since nothing as
- 28:56Speaker 2: to whether that was a legitimate and that's and quotes
- 29:00Speaker 2: legitimate storming of the home or mistake was made.
- 29:05Speaker 3: And very few people will speak Arabic around there.
- 29:08Speaker 2: I've heard that the screaming was saved Humas, save Rumas,
- 29:12Speaker 2: but no one really knows.
- 29:13Speaker 3: Oh boy, oh good, how many dialects of it there are?
- 29:18Speaker 3: There are?
- 29:20Speaker 2: Well, here is a fact that Dearborn Michigan has the
- 29:23Speaker 2: biggest population of people who speak who are Arabs and
- 29:28Speaker 2: Muslims in any place in the United States. Dearborn Michigan,
- 29:31Speaker 2: after I think was the Gulf War, when Iranians who left.
- 29:37Speaker 3: Iran where there was literally were the biggest patriots.
- 29:41Speaker 2: The anti Iranian groups of people in the United States
- 29:44Speaker 2: were nailed, they were vilified, and so they there's a
- 29:48Speaker 2: lot of defense. There's a lot of defensive moves made
- 29:51Speaker 2: in that community because it's tough.
- 29:53Speaker 3: It's tough to be an Arab but Muslim in the
- 29:55Speaker 3: United States.
- 29:56Speaker 5: You know, where else it's tough to be something Mexico
- 30:00Speaker 5: and particularly a mayor and even more, particularly a mayor
- 30:06Speaker 5: who's fighting against the cartels. So Carlos Manzo famous in
- 30:11Speaker 5: Mexico for saying what a few other politicians would and
- 30:16Speaker 5: that is he says, you know, you need to have
- 30:18Speaker 5: brute force against the cartel cartels. And he said, I'm
- 30:24Speaker 5: sick of seeing, you know, Mexican mayors cut down by
- 30:32Speaker 5: the cartels.
- 30:33Speaker 3: And he says that we've got to do something. And
- 30:36Speaker 3: a lot of people saw him as a hero.
- 30:37Speaker 5: Well, on Day of the Dead celebration there in the
- 30:41Speaker 5: central Square, he was shan dead city, I have three
- 30:46Speaker 5: hundred thousand, Yeah.
- 30:48Speaker 3: Taking taking the Day of the Dead very seriously. Well,
- 30:52Speaker 3: that's they're in Michoa, Khan.
- 30:55Speaker 2: But you do not want to say anything against the cartels.
- 30:58Speaker 2: They own Mexico. I'm I mean, they own it outright.
- 31:01Speaker 2: And it's a a when you have the civil employees,
- 31:04Speaker 2: you have mayor's police chiefs, cops.
- 31:07Speaker 3: It's almost as if or this whole corrupt. That's so corrupt,
- 31:10Speaker 3: the cartels earn so much power.
- 31:12Speaker 2: They tell even local cops either you take the bribes,
- 31:15Speaker 2: either you do what we tell you to do, or
- 31:17Speaker 2: we're going to kill your family.
- 31:19Speaker 3: And they're dead serious about that. Which way do you
- 31:21Speaker 3: go on that when that happens.
- 31:23Speaker 5: Cartels should get Trump to hate them, because then everybody
- 31:27Speaker 5: else will love the cartels.
- 31:29Speaker 4: Yep, all right, in a surprise to no one. Traffic
- 31:34Speaker 4: sucks all over the US, especially here in LA. A
- 31:37Speaker 4: new report from Texas A and M Transportation Institute and
- 31:40Speaker 4: the Urban Mobility Report says Americans lost an average of
- 31:43Speaker 4: sixty three hours sitting in traffic in twenty twenty four.
- 31:47Speaker 4: That's the highest level ever measured. And I spoke to
- 31:50Speaker 4: ABC's Jim Ryan this morning and he says, the number
- 31:52Speaker 4: one offender Los Angeles.
- 31:55Speaker 2: No surprise. We we are the car community of the world.
- 32:00Speaker 2: You know, we used to have a great transit public
- 32:02Speaker 2: trails line. Do you know that the Red line one
- 32:05Speaker 2: of the best in the country. And you know who
- 32:07Speaker 2: shut it down? Basically the people that killed it, Triple A.
- 32:12Speaker 2: The auto folks. They want to Oh yeah, we don't
- 32:15Speaker 2: want we want cars, we want conve on it.
- 32:19Speaker 5: It is a fascinating, fascinating story about Los Angeles because
- 32:23Speaker 5: we have a horrible, horrible transit system now, oh.
- 32:28Speaker 2: It's one of the worst. A matter of fact, that's
- 32:30Speaker 2: a very good idea. And uh, it's an excellent idea
- 32:33Speaker 2: deep dive on the history of transportation here in southern
- 32:36Speaker 2: the Los Angeles with the red line cars and just
- 32:39Speaker 2: what's happening in the subway which is hilarious, what's happening
- 32:43Speaker 2: that's called.
- 32:44Speaker 5: The red cars yea, and hearing stories of old Angelino's
- 32:49Speaker 5: talking about the red car system and the red line system.
- 32:54Speaker 3: We are done.
- 32:54Speaker 2: Guys, KFI A M sixty you've been listening to the
- 32:58Speaker 2: Bill Handles Show.
