- 0:05Speaker 1: This is the Patriots Catch twenty two podcasts with Evan
- 0:08Speaker 1: Lazar and Alex Barth.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Blazarre and Lazarren.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Hello, everybody nailed it, joined us.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Always buying our bar cap cap. Here is Evan Lazar.
- 0:20Speaker 1: And Alex bar So do you want to bet on
- 0:22Speaker 1: Ross speed or Ross strength?
- 0:24Speaker 3: You know my answer? I know because I can tell
- 0:26Speaker 3: Chris Brazzl when he gets here on April twenty fifth
- 0:29Speaker 3: or whatever, the day after the first round. Hey, buddy,
- 0:31Speaker 3: hit the weight room.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Well he's gonna Breyton shorts on April twenty bit. You're
- 0:35Speaker 1: gonna be all excited, n camp.
- 0:36Speaker 4: You know.
- 0:37Speaker 3: You know rookie Mini Caam, He's gonna run a nine round.
- 0:39Speaker 1: I'm gonna be like the hell Yeah, you know, and
- 0:43Speaker 1: you know exactly who we will bring up.
- 0:45Speaker 3: I know that is fair.
- 0:46Speaker 1: You can hit the weight room. You can hit the
- 0:47Speaker 1: weight room, you can't hit the speed room. That's fair.
- 0:50Speaker 3: That is fair, all right, everybody. I can't hear anything
- 0:58Speaker 3: in here, So that's why I can not that I
- 1:01Speaker 3: need to hear anything from this point on, I guess.
- 1:03Speaker 3: But we didn't all so lovely open, which is actually
- 1:06Speaker 3: pretty fine with me because I'm one of those people.
- 1:09Speaker 3: I hate hearing the sound of my own voice. I
- 1:11Speaker 3: don't like my voice. I hate hearing it. It's one
- 1:13Speaker 3: of those types of things I have to get over
- 1:15Speaker 3: in this industry.
- 1:16Speaker 1: But that's just the way that I am. I guess
- 1:19Speaker 1: we do have to hear the callers here, right. I
- 1:20Speaker 1: don't mind hear my voice. I just only see myself
- 1:22Speaker 1: on kre.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Oh it's both. It's both, you know, I would rather
- 1:26Speaker 3: not now, every once in a while, you got to
- 1:28Speaker 3: do it. And when we got g Mat on the case,
- 1:31Speaker 3: I got to watch myself and listen, watch the tape,
- 1:33Speaker 3: you know, have him grade me and all that good stuff.
- 1:36Speaker 3: So it's fun. Uh yeah, we're good now. We're good now.
- 1:39Speaker 3: I didn't know when we were starting. We were just
- 1:41Speaker 3: talking about our approach to very lazy approaches to college
- 1:46Speaker 3: that we got through. I was actually talking to Mike
- 1:50Speaker 3: g reesea yesterday. I think it's his daughter is on
- 1:54Speaker 3: is nearing the end of high school, and I swear
- 1:56Speaker 3: we're good on topic after this. Nearing the end of
- 1:58Speaker 3: high school, so she's kind of looking that colleges and
- 2:01Speaker 3: one of the college establishment's fine establishment. She's looking at college. Yeah,
- 2:06Speaker 3: absolutely was talking it up, So that was fun. No
- 2:09Speaker 3: socks also a bomber as well, from a different chapter
- 2:14Speaker 3: of history, but you know, same college. All right, Hello everybody.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Evan Lazar, Alex Barth is behind the glass. That's how
- 2:22Speaker 3: you know it's an off season show. And I ramble
- 2:24Speaker 3: like that about.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Non the off season, though I saw some tweet the
- 2:28Speaker 1: other day that was like the dead season of the
- 2:30Speaker 1: NFL's we are are not remotely close to the dead season. No,
- 2:35Speaker 1: that's we will get to the dark days of summer.
- 2:37Speaker 3: That's June and July, which here at this stadium is
- 2:41Speaker 3: going to be World Cup CenTra.
- 2:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:43Speaker 3: I don't know, so it's gonna be tough.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I'll tell you this. I'll be coming from the beach.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Yeah, that's that's a dead period of the off season
- 2:50Speaker 3: is right after Mini camp ends and the spring practices
- 2:55Speaker 3: and for the players, and then it doesn't start up
- 2:58Speaker 3: again until training camp and that's when everybody goes on vacation.
- 3:02Speaker 3: So today's show, we'll start with some news. I'll get
- 3:05Speaker 3: to some of these thirty visits reported. I should mention
- 3:08Speaker 3: thirty visits pro Day's all that good stuff. Alex and
- 3:12Speaker 3: I were both out in Chestnut Hill at Boston College
- 3:15Speaker 3: on Monday. So not a ton of top prospects coming
- 3:19Speaker 3: out of that program this year, but still some things
- 3:21Speaker 3: to talk about.
- 3:22Speaker 1: There's at least one legit Patriots target.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Yeah, and we were there with Mike Rabele and Ryan
- 3:28Speaker 3: Cowden and Doug Maron, Mike Smith, the Patriots outside linebackers,
- 3:34Speaker 3: coach Tony Kinkayla. They're a director of college scouting, so
- 3:38Speaker 3: they had a nice contingent on hand.
- 3:40Speaker 1: I'll just throw this out there too, because I got
- 3:41Speaker 1: this question when we were listening off the names, people
- 3:43Speaker 1: wondering where Elliott Wolf was. He was at it almost yah.
- 3:47Speaker 1: So he was down at the you for that pro day,
- 3:49Speaker 1: which was the main event this year.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Apparently like unbelievable those defensive linemen. We I guess they
- 3:57Speaker 3: put on an absolute show.
- 3:58Speaker 1: For everything we hyped up being like college football fans,
- 4:01Speaker 1: that Ohio State defense, and I still think that Ohio
- 4:03Speaker 1: State defense is, you know, one of the best we've
- 4:06Speaker 1: seen in college football in this decade. That Miami defense, Like,
- 4:09Speaker 1: looking back on it, yeah, slept on underrated real talent.
- 4:13Speaker 1: I really hope we do recency bias guys today. I
- 4:16Speaker 1: got a couple certainly somebody I was texting you about
- 4:19Speaker 1: him the other day on that Miami defense, not one
- 4:21Speaker 1: of alignment naturally in the secondary, but.
- 4:23Speaker 3: The whole the whole defense.
- 4:24Speaker 1: The whole defense is a lot of talent. But you know,
- 4:27Speaker 1: Fernana Mendoz didn't really play anybody.
- 4:29Speaker 3: So let's you know, since we're on the subject of
- 4:31Speaker 3: the pro days, we can start to go through some
- 4:33Speaker 3: of the pro day stuff that I wanted to hit on.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Let's just start with BC. I know it's not the
- 4:37Speaker 3: biggest program. I know it's not you know, Miami or
- 4:41Speaker 3: LSU or Alabama or something like that, but you mentioned
- 4:43Speaker 3: a couple guys that are realistic Patriots targets, and I
- 4:48Speaker 3: think they have three or four of those guys on
- 4:50Speaker 3: Day three that if they were end up being Patriots somewhere.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Like I said, on the third day of the draft,
- 4:55Speaker 3: none of us would be surprised. But I was also
- 4:57Speaker 3: just a little bit. I thought it was cool watch
- 5:00Speaker 3: you know, got to watch him last year to do
- 5:02Speaker 3: the same type of thing. But Rabel just can't help
- 5:05Speaker 3: himself when there's football going on, and he tries in
- 5:08Speaker 3: the beginning to kind of stay in the back a
- 5:10Speaker 3: little bit and be a little bit more hands off,
- 5:13Speaker 3: especially during the athletic testing portion. I think he could
- 5:16Speaker 3: really care less about what the stopwatch says. But as
- 5:20Speaker 3: soon as those positional drills started for the lineman, especially
- 5:24Speaker 3: but really particularly the offensive lineman, he was right in
- 5:28Speaker 3: the middle of that thing. And he's given pointers and
- 5:31Speaker 3: coaching tips on the fly to guys that he might
- 5:34Speaker 3: not every even coach. You know, I just think that
- 5:37Speaker 3: it's it's an itch that he has to scratch when
- 5:39Speaker 3: he's around the game, when he's around football, when he's
- 5:42Speaker 3: around a practice type setting like that, he just can't
- 5:46Speaker 3: help himself. So yeah, I mean watching him is kind
- 5:48Speaker 3: of fun, honestly.
- 5:49Speaker 1: And you know, he's talked about this, right his parents
- 5:52Speaker 1: are teachers and coach like he's a teacher at hard
- 5:55Speaker 1: and he wants to teach whether he's gonna you know,
- 5:57Speaker 1: I think there's something in it, you know, instinct in that,
- 6:00Speaker 1: Like he may not end up coaching the guy at
- 6:02Speaker 1: the NFL level, but he sees somebody he has information
- 6:04Speaker 1: he can impart on them, and he wants to do
- 6:06Speaker 1: that because that's just his instinct. And I think that's awesome. Yeah,
- 6:08Speaker 1: So Ray bowls in the middle of a lot of
- 6:10Speaker 1: the line drills, as you could expect.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Doug Moron was running the offensive line drills, which isn't
- 6:15Speaker 3: too surprising, and then Mike Smith was basically running the
- 6:19Speaker 3: pass rush drills for the outside linebackers too, so the
- 6:22Speaker 3: Patriots were heavily involved. I think it's great. I understand
- 6:25Speaker 3: that some people have questions of, well, should Mike Rabel
- 6:29Speaker 3: be with Elliot Wolf at Miami or be at one
- 6:31Speaker 3: of these other big pro days. I believe Clemson might
- 6:34Speaker 3: have been in the same day range or something like
- 6:37Speaker 3: that as well, like should he be no disrespect whatsoever
- 6:41Speaker 3: in Boston College. But you know, at a bigger.
- 6:46Speaker 1: The volume, there's more players.
- 6:48Speaker 3: And I think that it's really cool that he supports
- 6:51Speaker 3: Bill O'Brien, which is the biggest thing. Of course, you know,
- 6:54Speaker 3: Bill Brian gave him his first job in the NFL
- 6:57Speaker 3: with the Houston Texans as their linebackers, so it's a
- 7:01Speaker 3: little bit of that. It's a little bit of giving
- 7:02Speaker 3: some buzz to the BC Pro Day. I would probably
- 7:08Speaker 3: go just because I'm a SICKO. I don't know if
- 7:10Speaker 3: as many media would show up if they knew that
- 7:13Speaker 3: Mike Rabel wasn't coming so there was a good amount
- 7:16Speaker 3: of media contingent there because of his presence, so I
- 7:20Speaker 3: think he's trying to do a friend of solid But
- 7:22Speaker 3: at the same time, the biggest name to me that
- 7:26Speaker 3: come coming out of that program that I actually really
- 7:29Speaker 3: find very interesting is Jude Bowry, their tackle who had
- 7:32Speaker 3: a really good combine tested over a nine relative athletic score.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Do you say, ras or rash r s Okay over
- 7:42Speaker 3: nine off at the combine, very very athletic tackle. Training
- 7:51Speaker 3: with Dante Scarnekia, which is always fun. I mean that's
- 7:53Speaker 3: been going on since O'Brien got to BC, so not
- 7:56Speaker 3: not really necessarily a huge thing, but always just a
- 8:00Speaker 3: little interesting anecdote.
- 8:01Speaker 1: But watch I do think it's interesting too, And he
- 8:03Speaker 1: talked about this just to throw on top of that.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Not only has he worked with Dante Scarnecci on the side,
- 8:08Speaker 1: he worked with Doug Moroon because Marone worked at BC
- 8:11Speaker 1: before he was here.
- 8:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Yeah, very familiar with the way the Patriots want their
- 8:15Speaker 1: offensive line run.
- 8:16Speaker 3: So all those guys last year, Kendall Trapillo, they all
- 8:21Speaker 3: went through the same thing where they worked with Moron
- 8:24Speaker 3: and then trained for the draft with Dante Scarnecia. They
- 8:28Speaker 3: did end up with Conley. Jack Conley for a little bit.
- 8:31Speaker 3: He had a cup of coffee with the Patriots, was
- 8:33Speaker 3: on the ninety man roster during training camp, so they
- 8:37Speaker 3: did have somebody in the building that was through that pipeline.
- 8:41Speaker 3: But Jude Bowery, I think is strongly in play with
- 8:46Speaker 3: one twenty five or one thirty one in the fourth round.
- 8:49Speaker 3: If he even gets to.
- 8:49Speaker 1: That, I was gonna say it might be ninety five. Yeah,
- 8:52Speaker 1: because I'll give you the sex size real quick. But
- 8:55Speaker 1: this happens every year. There's not enough tackles. And you know,
- 8:58Speaker 1: now when I look at the consensus, bort kind of
- 9:00Speaker 1: add to twenty thirty picks to every tackle. Remember, Kayden
- 9:03Speaker 1: Wallace was an example of this. Katean Wallace went earlier
- 9:05Speaker 1: than projected, but in terms of like the order of tackles,
- 9:09Speaker 1: he went where he was supposed to go whatever he
- 9:11Speaker 1: was like the eighth, ninth, tenth tackle because they were
- 9:14Speaker 1: all just going early. So just to give you right
- 9:17Speaker 1: now where they are in the consensus board, Evan the
- 9:20Speaker 1: true tackle. So this is not we'll go through it.
- 9:22Speaker 1: So when we go A, now we GOA is six,
- 9:26Speaker 1: Fina is eleven. Monroe Frieling is twelve, Caan Proctor's twenty one,
- 9:30Speaker 1: Caleb Loomu is twenty two, Blake Miller's thirty one. Maxi
- 9:35Speaker 1: Honachour is thirty eight. So all potential either locks or
- 9:38Speaker 1: potential first round picks. So Maxi Honitor again thirty eight.
- 9:43Speaker 1: The next tackle, just how the big board has the
- 9:45Speaker 1: consents big board that we use is Jennings Dunker at
- 9:48Speaker 1: fifty nine. Now one, that's a twenty pick drop two.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Jennings Dunker is probably not a tackle. Next up Caleb
- 9:58Speaker 1: Tiernan sixty nine guard. That's right, So.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Maxi two and a quarter in charms.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Maxi Honachur again is thirty eight. The next true tackle
- 10:07Speaker 1: and the consensus board is crown Over at one oh three. Yeah,
- 10:10Speaker 1: So are you telling me we're going to go seventy
- 10:13Speaker 1: something picks without a tackle? There's basically gonna be no
- 10:16Speaker 1: tackles on day two. No, it's not.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Going to happen.
- 10:20Speaker 1: But I think that there's a chance that there's a
- 10:22Speaker 1: very wide gap. So there might be a gap. But
- 10:24Speaker 1: like the next guy, But okay, so Crownovers at one
- 10:27Speaker 1: o three.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Next up is Brian Parker at one o eight. He
- 10:30Speaker 1: might be a center guard a center. Then it's Bowery
- 10:33Speaker 1: at one nineteen, Markel Bellet at one twenty six.
- 10:35Speaker 3: Right, and so Isaiah World's in there, but he's coming off.
- 10:38Speaker 1: To al Austin Barber's in there one thirty three if
- 10:41Speaker 1: we want to put him in that same group. But
- 10:42Speaker 1: like here's my point, ire on the big boarders at
- 10:45Speaker 1: thirty eight, Yeah, even if he falls a little bit,
- 10:47Speaker 1: because there's more first round tackles, right, Okay, so we
- 10:50Speaker 1: go somewhere in the forties. We're going forty picks without
- 10:53Speaker 1: a tackle, probably not but but but we but when
- 10:57Speaker 1: we do this, but there's gonna be my point. There's
- 11:00Speaker 1: gonna sorry, go ahead, because IM gonna explain you're talk
- 11:02Speaker 1: about to run. I'm gonn explain it.
- 11:03Speaker 5: Right.
- 11:04Speaker 1: So Crownover, who's at one oh three on the on
- 11:06Speaker 1: the big board, now go somewhere in the seventies or eighties. Well, okay,
- 11:09Speaker 1: you're looking at that as a team. He's twenty or
- 11:12Speaker 1: thirty picks ahead where he was supposed to be. Yeah,
- 11:15Speaker 1: so I can't wait for Jude Bowery at one nineteen
- 11:18Speaker 1: because there there gonna be another thirty forty picks like
- 11:22Speaker 1: his Crown Over gonna be the only tackle to go
- 11:24Speaker 1: between forty and one to twenty. So now he gets
- 11:28Speaker 1: bumped up, so you know, one nineteen he might be
- 11:31Speaker 1: about the one hundred to one hundred and twentieth best
- 11:33Speaker 1: player in the draft. He's gonna go higher than that
- 11:35Speaker 1: because there's not enough tackles, so if they want. I
- 11:38Speaker 1: think Jude Bowery is very relevant to the Patriots, very
- 11:40Speaker 1: because if they're not gonna take Blake Miller or Ihana
- 11:44Speaker 1: Chore at thirty one or after a slight trade back,
- 11:47Speaker 1: you're probably talking about ninety five being where you're gonna
- 11:51Speaker 1: get that developmental right tackle. I don't think it's one
- 11:53Speaker 1: twenty five. Maybe it's one twenty five, but you're getting
- 11:55Speaker 1: a lesser player. That's maybe where you're talking about Isaiah World,
- 11:58Speaker 1: who's coming off of torn acl for Markel Bell, who's
- 12:02Speaker 1: all framed and really is a projection. If you want
- 12:04Speaker 1: a guy that's going to come in, you know, a
- 12:06Speaker 1: potentially year one guy, not a day one guy, but
- 12:08Speaker 1: a potentially year one guy. I think you're talking about
- 12:10Speaker 1: ninety five and it's crown Over, it's Bowery, and it's
- 12:14Speaker 1: Austin Barbie might be able to wait on a little bit,
- 12:16Speaker 1: But like, I think, dude, Bowery's really really, really relevant
- 12:19Speaker 1: to the Patriots.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Agreed. I think that there are different type of players
- 12:22Speaker 3: to him and crown Over. Crownover is typical power based
- 12:27Speaker 3: tackle prospect that we've seen in the past, kind of
- 12:30Speaker 3: on that right side with the Patriots. You know, I
- 12:32Speaker 3: always go back to like Marcus Cannon, right, who's yeah,
- 12:35Speaker 3: that that big, powerful tackle, bulldozing tackle that would be
- 12:40Speaker 3: crown Over. Bowerie is an athlete like Bowery in my opinion,
- 12:44Speaker 3: out of all of these guys, like he has the
- 12:47Speaker 3: best pass protection tools because he has that ability to
- 12:50Speaker 3: get out of his stance. He's extremely you know what
- 12:53Speaker 3: the offensive line guys like to call springy, where he
- 12:56Speaker 3: just kind of bounces out of his stance and he's
- 12:58Speaker 3: able to get to landmarks really quickly in his pass
- 13:01Speaker 3: set and cut off those initial angles. He can range,
- 13:05Speaker 3: you know, he has you know, good range at pass protection.
- 13:07Speaker 3: He can move his feet, he's got good foot speed
- 13:10Speaker 3: to mirror rushers high side and escort them past quarterbacks
- 13:14Speaker 3: we saw and the on field drills, his work in
- 13:18Speaker 3: the zone blocks, you know, the reach blocks, the backside cutoffs,
- 13:21Speaker 3: things like that, really impressive speed to power, conversion, leverage,
- 13:26Speaker 3: ability to get out in space. He looked different reaching,
- 13:30Speaker 3: especially than the other guys that were going through the drill.
- 13:33Speaker 3: And they have some other guys, you know, Logan Thomas
- 13:35Speaker 3: is going to be maybe a late day three, you know,
- 13:38Speaker 3: priority free agent type of player. So it's not like
- 13:41Speaker 3: they had no other offensive line talent that was working out.
- 13:46Speaker 3: He looked different than those guys. The one thing that
- 13:49Speaker 3: I would say, well, I guess it's kind of related
- 13:51Speaker 3: to two things. His Clemson tape was was up and down,
- 13:55Speaker 3: and that's the best competition he faced. He went up
- 13:57Speaker 3: against TJ. Parker a handful of times, five pressures against Clemson.
- 14:02Speaker 3: In particular, just from what is the issue, he mentioned
- 14:06Speaker 3: that he's been working on his punch with Dante Scarnekia.
- 14:09Speaker 3: That is the biggest thing in his game right now
- 14:11Speaker 3: that needs refinement is his punch, especially his outside hand.
- 14:16Speaker 3: I would say, and I'm sure there's a more technical
- 14:19Speaker 3: way to put this. It's a particularly weak outside hand.
- 14:22Speaker 3: And so once he gets engaged with the rusher, TJ.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Parker especially was able to just kind of power right
- 14:30Speaker 3: through his punch and then that creates a soft corner,
- 14:33Speaker 3: soft edge, and then you're at the quarterback right. So
- 14:36Speaker 3: I really like a lot of elements of his game.
- 14:38Speaker 3: I actually think that his anchor and like his base
- 14:41Speaker 3: is pretty sturdy. He just has to improve his hands
- 14:44Speaker 3: and maybe Coach Scar can get him there by the
- 14:47Speaker 3: time his rookie season comes around. And I just look
- 14:50Speaker 3: at him as a perfect swing tackle early on in
- 14:54Speaker 3: his rookie contract, potentially pushing for starting role. I think
- 14:58Speaker 3: that he could also play inside eventually if you wanted
- 15:01Speaker 3: him to do that instead, if that was where the
- 15:03Speaker 3: opportunity to present.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Well, And we talked about it last week, having a
- 15:06Speaker 1: little extra depth on the inside, just given Vera Tucker's
- 15:09Speaker 1: injury history and Jared Wilson is going to be a
- 15:11Speaker 1: first year starter at center, they might want a little
- 15:14Speaker 1: extra depth on the inside and maybe that and manifests
- 15:16Speaker 1: itself in a four position backup swing tackle rather than
- 15:21Speaker 1: just keeping an extra guard.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Yeah, who else did you like there? Because I think,
- 15:25Speaker 3: you know, I don't know if he's for them because
- 15:28Speaker 3: of their situation at wide receiver. I don't know if
- 15:31Speaker 3: they had another one of these guys, but I was
- 15:33Speaker 3: pretty impressed with Lewis Bond and I watched his tape
- 15:36Speaker 3: over the weekend just to have some sort of background
- 15:38Speaker 3: on him before the pro day, and look like he's
- 15:42Speaker 3: Is he too much like efton Chism Probably, you know,
- 15:45Speaker 3: it's probably redundant theft and Chislm. But if they feel
- 15:48Speaker 3: like e ft and Chisholm needs to be pushed or
- 15:50Speaker 3: is in there, you know, the answer or whatever the
- 15:53Speaker 3: case may be. Really efficient route runner, really crisp at
- 15:57Speaker 3: the first two levels, understands all of the news of
- 16:00Speaker 3: that role from a mental processing standpoint, with coverage sure handed. Yeah,
- 16:05Speaker 3: you know, there's a lot of things to like. I
- 16:07Speaker 3: like that he's got a little bit more girth and
- 16:08Speaker 3: size to him than some of the you know, Pop Douglas,
- 16:11Speaker 3: Josh Downs type slots. You know, he's five ten five
- 16:14Speaker 3: eleven hundred and ninety pounds. I just don't know if
- 16:17Speaker 3: they need another player in that mold. It's kind of redundant.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Yeah. I kind of feel the same about Lewis Bond
- 16:21Speaker 1: and Logan Taylor. I think they both bring something to
- 16:23Speaker 1: the table. Taylor is a multi position offensive line backup.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Can he might be able to play four spots, you know,
- 16:28Speaker 1: Bond's just kind of a sure handed, steady wide receiver.
- 16:30Speaker 1: I got to see I see both of them in person,
- 16:32Speaker 1: but you know, really Bond when I did those sideline
- 16:34Speaker 1: games from last year, and like he looks, he stands
- 16:38Speaker 1: out like he looks different. He looks the way you'd
- 16:40Speaker 1: want an NFL player to look on the field with
- 16:43Speaker 1: college players, especially when they when they played Notre Dame.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Like he had a solid I thought he had a
- 16:47Speaker 1: solid performance against probably the best opponent I saw them
- 16:50Speaker 1: against at least. But I'm with you, like with Lewis Bond,
- 16:54Speaker 1: he's too similar to e Fton Chisholm Logan Taylor I
- 16:57Speaker 1: think is pretty similar to Ben Brown. Yeah, and that
- 16:59Speaker 1: he's gonna play a similar role. With either of them,
- 17:01Speaker 1: I'd be like, I think they're good football players. Bring
- 17:03Speaker 1: them in if you know, as a UDFA, I think
- 17:05Speaker 1: especially you know Bond's going to get drafted, would Taylor
- 17:08Speaker 1: or Taylor will get drafted to Like I just I
- 17:11Speaker 1: feel like those are kind of specific roles. You already
- 17:15Speaker 1: have players in those specific roles. I don't know if
- 17:16Speaker 1: there's room for two of those players. They're both NFL players,
- 17:19Speaker 1: they both should be drafted it's kind of nuts Bond
- 17:21Speaker 1: didn't get invited to the Combine. Yeah, I just think
- 17:23Speaker 1: the Patriots already have those guys.
- 17:25Speaker 3: I would love to know what the there's a I
- 17:28Speaker 3: think there's like a committee, right that decides who gets
- 17:30Speaker 3: invited to the Combine, and there's like a board at
- 17:32Speaker 3: the NFL puts in charge of it. This is a
- 17:35Speaker 3: guy that broke Za Flowers his career receptions record at
- 17:38Speaker 3: Boston College, a receiver that was a first round pick
- 17:42Speaker 3: not too long ago and just made a Pro Bowl
- 17:44Speaker 3: with the Baltimore Ravens. Like, so we're talking about a
- 17:46Speaker 3: really really good player with a Flowers and Lewis Bond
- 17:49Speaker 3: broke his record, his school record, and then doesn't get
- 17:52Speaker 3: invited to the Combine. You know when we were there,
- 17:55Speaker 3: I had you know, some Scots tell me that he
- 17:57Speaker 3: ran in like the four or five eight range, which
- 17:59Speaker 3: doesn't sound great on the surface, but when you think
- 18:02Speaker 3: about the type of player that he is, it's not
- 18:04Speaker 3: that he's a change.
- 18:05Speaker 1: He's a pure change.
- 18:06Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 18:07Speaker 3: Like I was texting you about, you know, Ristrepo last
- 18:09Speaker 3: year Zambia. Ristrepro ran like a four to eight. That's
- 18:12Speaker 3: deal breaking, right, Like that's that's alarm Bells.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Is Bond kind of just like a And I mean
- 18:17Speaker 1: he also went undrafted too, so maybe this isn't like
- 18:19Speaker 1: the best camp because I was going to say, like
- 18:22Speaker 1: kind of the lower level. But as a prospect, is
- 18:24Speaker 1: he just kind of like a shorter Jacoby Myers, like
- 18:27Speaker 1: you're trying to get the same kind of thing out.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I think that, you know, if you had
- 18:31Speaker 3: to compare him just stereotypically to the other Patriots slot
- 18:34Speaker 3: receivers in the past, like he probably from a strictly
- 18:38Speaker 3: athletic profile standpoint, really fits like Danny A Mondola type
- 18:42Speaker 3: of mold, just in terms of like speed and athleticism. Uh,
- 18:46Speaker 3: in terms of play style, I I guess I probably
- 18:51Speaker 3: leaned a little bit towards like the the Eftin chishm
- 18:53Speaker 3: type of mold. Still, you know, like I think, I
- 18:56Speaker 3: just mean in terms of like because Jacoby I just
- 18:58Speaker 3: looked it up, ran a four to six three. Jacoby
- 19:00Speaker 3: was tall, So that's a smaller version of yeah player,
- 19:03Speaker 3: I don't know if he because Jacoby's height and catch
- 19:06Speaker 3: radius allows him to win.
- 19:09Speaker 4: Enough.
- 19:09Speaker 3: Yeah, so I think that Bond is going to be
- 19:13Speaker 3: first and second level. Yeah, the one big concern with
- 19:16Speaker 3: him was obviously the play speed in the straight line speed,
- 19:19Speaker 3: because I didn't really see him separate a whole lot
- 19:23Speaker 3: on fades or on crossing routes. Particularly the crossing routes
- 19:26Speaker 3: is the one that I think is the biggest one.
- 19:29Speaker 3: If you're not going to get the vertical stretch from
- 19:31Speaker 3: the slot that you can live around that the fact
- 19:33Speaker 3: that the guy can't you know, run the slot fade
- 19:36Speaker 3: or run a seam or something like that. But you
- 19:38Speaker 3: want your slot receiver to be able to win horizontally
- 19:40Speaker 3: across the field on crossers. So what do you think
- 19:43Speaker 3: of Q Hutchins? Are you any any interest?
- 19:47Speaker 1: I mean the UDFA, he's like, I'd like seeing me
- 19:51Speaker 1: a little quicker for his size. That's that's the big
- 19:53Speaker 1: thing for me.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Yeah, he's got good bend on the edge and he
- 19:56Speaker 3: can turn the corner, and I think he plays a
- 19:58Speaker 3: little bit bigger than his size. His measurables suggest I
- 20:01Speaker 3: think he was worried. It sounded like, just based off
- 20:04Speaker 3: his press conference was he was worried about his speed.
- 20:07Speaker 3: So I think I bet you he played closer to
- 20:09Speaker 3: two forty and maybe cut weight for this portion of
- 20:13Speaker 3: the off season. But I just I think that he
- 20:16Speaker 3: plays the position just as a stand up outside guy
- 20:21Speaker 3: relatively like the Patriots want them. It to be played
- 20:24Speaker 3: with some explosiveness and some bend off the edge. But
- 20:27Speaker 3: I'm with you, he's pretty small. He's pretty light, especially
- 20:30Speaker 3: for that spot. All Right, So that was Boston College.
- 20:33Speaker 3: It was a fun day. Glad, Glad we were able
- 20:36Speaker 3: to at least see like a semi you know, a
- 20:39Speaker 3: D one program in the ACC that does have draftable talent.
- 20:42Speaker 3: It is cool to have that right down the street.
- 20:45Speaker 3: A couple more things from pro days that have just
- 20:48Speaker 3: been kicking around. We haven't been at these physically, but
- 20:52Speaker 3: one of our guys, I think we professed our love
- 20:54Speaker 3: to Harold Perkins last week ran a four to three eight.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Think he should play running.
- 21:00Speaker 3: I mean, he's one of those guys that there's always
- 21:05Speaker 3: a couple of these every single year where the tea
- 21:09Speaker 3: the college team did not figure him out yet, But like,
- 21:12Speaker 3: I don't feel like LSU was really able to maximize.
- 21:16Speaker 3: They tried him on the line of scrimmage as a
- 21:17Speaker 3: pass rusher, they tried him at linebacker, they tried him
- 21:19Speaker 3: at the star Like I there's there's got to be
- 21:22Speaker 3: a way to get that kind of athlete to be
- 21:25Speaker 3: a productive football.
- 21:26Speaker 1: I pushed back on that a little bit, I because
- 21:28Speaker 1: they did as a freshman. I just wonder if he
- 21:31Speaker 1: was the passer as a freshman.
- 21:32Speaker 4: Right.
- 21:32Speaker 1: He's doing a little bit of everything, but mainly that
- 21:35Speaker 1: I do wonder if some of that is just he
- 21:37Speaker 1: wasn't right last year coming like off, he's working his
- 21:40Speaker 1: way back from the injury. I think that's part of it.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Yeah, that that's probably fair. I think that there's two
- 21:46Speaker 3: kinds of roles that you could probably play him at.
- 21:49Speaker 3: One is obviously weak side linebacker, which feels like the
- 21:51Speaker 3: right role, like when you have that kind of speed,
- 21:54Speaker 3: you know, to play a player like that a week
- 21:56Speaker 3: side linebacker. The coverage assignments that he can handle the
- 22:00Speaker 3: sideline to sideline against the run, like he's not going
- 22:03Speaker 3: to be the sledgehammer at the point of attack as often,
- 22:06Speaker 3: so he can just kind of range over the top
- 22:08Speaker 3: of everything and go sideline to sideline right. The other one,
- 22:13Speaker 3: I guess would would probably be the nickel or the
- 22:15Speaker 3: star role as they call it at LSU, where he's
- 22:17Speaker 3: playing basically slot defender, where probably not going to do
- 22:22Speaker 3: that against three receiver sets, but could against bigger personnel
- 22:26Speaker 3: if you're playing teams that play a lot of twelve
- 22:28Speaker 3: or a lot of twenty one personnel with a full
- 22:30Speaker 3: back or an extra tight end, then yeah, like you
- 22:33Speaker 3: could probably play him in the slot a little bit.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Like that too, Like, yeah, i'd like seem rush in
- 22:37Speaker 1: the pass or more than that.
- 22:38Speaker 3: But so they used him the tape, the tapes that
- 22:41Speaker 3: I saw of him last year at LSU, they used
- 22:43Speaker 3: him a lot as an in in line or off
- 22:46Speaker 3: ball blitzer where it was interesting he kind of like
- 22:49Speaker 3: started in a track stance, like a two point track stance,
- 22:51Speaker 3: and then just like would run like clearly tipping that
- 22:54Speaker 3: he was blitzing. Yeah, which was you know, had a
- 22:57Speaker 3: couple of good rushes. But I think that maybe getting
- 23:01Speaker 3: a little bit more you know, distinctive like instinctive sorry, yeah,
- 23:06Speaker 3: and like disguisey where like it doesn't tip to the
- 23:10Speaker 3: offense that he's clearly blitzing, right that, I think he
- 23:13Speaker 3: could kind of be a little bit more effective. So
- 23:16Speaker 3: I don't know, I'm still all in on him. I
- 23:18Speaker 3: don't know how high he goes, but it could be
- 23:20Speaker 3: in the third round. After that Pro day because some
- 23:23Speaker 3: coach and some coaching staff is going to look at
- 23:25Speaker 3: him and be like, I know how to use I
- 23:29Speaker 3: know how to use them, Like draft him and I
- 23:32Speaker 3: know how to use them.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Who goes higher him or Kyle Lewis.
- 23:36Speaker 3: It's a good question. I would say Kyle Lewis has
- 23:41Speaker 3: right now is maybe a little bit more polished at
- 23:43Speaker 3: linebacker than Perkins is. But I think Perkins is going
- 23:46Speaker 3: to be a better pull.
- 23:46Speaker 1: So that's the crazy thing though, is like I wonder
- 23:48Speaker 1: how many teams look at Kyle Lewis as a safety.
- 23:50Speaker 1: I wouldn't. Maybe I wonder if teams are gonna try
- 23:53Speaker 1: to do with Kyle Lewis what the Pagers try to
- 23:54Speaker 1: do with Marte Maphu.
- 23:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I could see that, and I'd.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Play him a linebacker and just hey, he's only probably
- 24:01Speaker 1: gonna play on passing downs. That's fine. Even if he's
- 24:03Speaker 1: only on the field forty percent of the time, He's
- 24:05Speaker 1: going to make a great impact a forty percent of
- 24:07Speaker 1: a time, and I think that's worth a third round pick.
- 24:10Speaker 3: It's copycat league. Yeah, Nick aim and Worry is now
- 24:14Speaker 3: the darling. He's chicken technically a safety, but he's a
- 24:18Speaker 3: big safety.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Do you think there are more linebackers or more safeties
- 24:21Speaker 1: that can do that? Whitney Kiman Worriy does so.
- 24:24Speaker 3: I think this is kind of a cool cyclical thing.
- 24:25Speaker 3: That's a great catch twenty two topic. Yeah, I was
- 24:28Speaker 3: looking for all the big safeties in this draft. Yeah,
- 24:31Speaker 3: you can't find them because all the big safeties are
- 24:33Speaker 3: now line linebackers. So like, if you're two twenty plus
- 24:37Speaker 3: with range and with you know, cover skills, there's an
- 24:41Speaker 3: LB next to your name now in the college game
- 24:43Speaker 3: instead of ans.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Because if you run a four to six, four six
- 24:47Speaker 1: is a linebacker's outstanding of four to six is a
- 24:49Speaker 1: safety not so much?
- 24:50Speaker 3: Right, So, all, if you're looking for him and worry
- 24:53Speaker 3: types outside of you know, obviously McNeil Warren at the
- 24:57Speaker 3: very very top of the draft, you're really a looking
- 25:00Speaker 3: for linebackers at the college level, yeah, that are going
- 25:03Speaker 3: to probably have some hybrid element to them at the
- 25:06Speaker 3: pro level. You know, could these guys like Perkins and
- 25:09Speaker 3: Lewis play in the deep part of the field. Probably
- 25:11Speaker 3: not the box safety, yeah, but they are essentially new
- 25:15Speaker 3: age box safeties.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Right well, Perkins, I hesitated that. I think he's a
- 25:20Speaker 1: true linebacker. Yeah, but he can do some safety stuff.
- 25:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Hey, Moore to me is like if Jamal if the
- 25:26Speaker 1: Jets had figured Jamal Adams out correctly.
- 25:30Speaker 3: Okay, kind of thing I could see that. I think
- 25:32Speaker 3: that his pass rush ability is really really good.
- 25:35Speaker 1: But he's too good a pass rush to be a safety, yes.
- 25:37Speaker 3: And I don't think that he has even though he
- 25:39Speaker 3: ran a four to three eight. Yeah, he's a His
- 25:42Speaker 3: hips and stuff are not going to allow him to
- 25:44Speaker 3: like be a deep safety that's changing directions out of
- 25:48Speaker 3: his pedal and all that kind of stuff. The other
- 25:50Speaker 3: thing that I think made some headlines out of the
- 25:54Speaker 3: Pro day circuit was Baylor tight end Michael Trigg jumps
- 25:59Speaker 3: twenty seven and a half inches. I haven't seen it
- 26:01Speaker 3: confirmed Pro Day forty time for him yet, but I
- 26:04Speaker 3: don't want to pick too much on Michael true, but
- 26:07Speaker 3: this is more just about getting back into this tight
- 26:09Speaker 3: end class you do not want to be badly.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Trigg was dealing with an injury and you can kind
- 26:14Speaker 1: of see it in the jump. I just don't know
- 26:15Speaker 1: why he jumped, because I've seen him on the football
- 26:17Speaker 1: field he can jump higher than that.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Well.
- 26:19Speaker 1: I wonder if this is a Kaishon Boody running the
- 26:21Speaker 1: forty on a bad ankle kind of thing.
- 26:23Speaker 3: You do not want to be a pass catching tight end.
- 26:26Speaker 3: That's not athletic. No, that's not that's the thing.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Like watching him, Yeah, like I've seen him. I know
- 26:32Speaker 1: I've seen him jump higher than that.
- 26:34Speaker 3: I was surprised. I mean, he's an explosive guy off
- 26:37Speaker 3: the line, and even if it's not like just simply
- 26:40Speaker 3: watching him jump for the ball, like, you can definitely
- 26:42Speaker 3: see the explosiveness. But I I guess maybe I should
- 26:47Speaker 3: show him some grace if there's an injury or something
- 26:49Speaker 3: like that.
- 26:50Speaker 1: I just yet here it is nursing a hamstright injury.
- 26:53Speaker 3: I just still remain against don't jump this type of player.
- 26:56Speaker 3: I I just can't get myself to buy into it.
- 26:59Speaker 1: I like Michael Trigg, not for the Patriots, I can't.
- 27:02Speaker 3: I'm going to draft into it.
- 27:03Speaker 1: If you're going to draft a fifty to fifty ball guy,
- 27:05Speaker 1: go get a receiver. Also, if you really like Michael Trigg,
- 27:07Speaker 1: I don't know how much you've watched this guy. Daikwon
- 27:10Speaker 1: Wright from Ole Miss to be pretty similar player expected
- 27:14Speaker 1: to go much later. I don't really understand why. Maybe
- 27:16Speaker 1: it's because the ole Miss offense is gimmicky.
- 27:18Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll get to an ole Miss player in a second.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. I like Trick, not for the Patriots.
- 27:25Speaker 3: I just if I'm gonna draft one of them, I
- 27:28Speaker 3: know he's gonna go higher. But like, at least Store
- 27:30Speaker 3: is tested unbelievably well, right, so you know that you
- 27:33Speaker 3: have confirmation of great receiving upside from his tape, great
- 27:38Speaker 3: athletic profile from the combine. Right, so that guy is
- 27:41Speaker 3: a freak, right, Like he's he's a freak athlete and
- 27:43Speaker 3: it shows on the film. I can't I can sort
- 27:47Speaker 3: of get behind that one for that reason. Now, I
- 27:50Speaker 3: don't know where they draft him, because I think he's
- 27:52Speaker 3: going to be a top sixty five. You know he's
- 27:56Speaker 3: gonna go someplace early, and it's hard for me to
- 28:00Speaker 3: envision a scenario where they have a spot to draft, Like,
- 28:04Speaker 3: is he going to be there at the end of
- 28:05Speaker 3: the second round. If he is, you even want to
- 28:08Speaker 3: draft him that high. Trig. I I'm kind of out
- 28:11Speaker 3: on Trig. I'm not just because of the Pro Day.
- 28:14Speaker 3: I also just did love the profile at the beginning.
- 28:16Speaker 1: I mean, now we've been pretty clear on this show
- 28:18Speaker 1: and whether it's it's Stower's trig Jolie uh Cozy ol
- 28:24Speaker 1: like the pure receiving tight end.
- 28:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I watched You want to sign r J.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Maryland as UDFA by all means, that would be the
- 28:31Speaker 1: one guy I.
- 28:32Speaker 3: Watched Cozy the other day. Dude catches everything, catches everything,
- 28:36Speaker 3: absolutely catches everything, doesn't block and really is not that fast.
- 28:40Speaker 1: No, he's a he's a fifty to fifty red zone. Yes, like,
- 28:44Speaker 1: and that's a really good second tight end. And I
- 28:46Speaker 1: guess if if he's still there in a sixth round, right, sure,
- 28:51Speaker 1: but that's not you know, I would hope the tight
- 28:54Speaker 1: end they're drafting has the upside to take over for
- 28:56Speaker 1: Hunter Henry and they're not back in the market for
- 28:58Speaker 1: number one tight end next year. And I think with
- 29:00Speaker 1: cozyal would be like, well he's a really good number two, right,
- 29:03Speaker 1: but we're still looking for a Hunter end resuccessor now
- 29:05Speaker 1: you're probably back in the top one hundred for a
- 29:07Speaker 1: tight end next year.
- 29:08Speaker 3: Probably has the best ball skills out of anybody in
- 29:10Speaker 3: the draft that position, though, like he's he's got great myths,
- 29:14Speaker 3: like that guy catches everything, he finishes through contact. He
- 29:17Speaker 3: can go above the rim and catch the football red zone.
- 29:20Speaker 3: As you mentioned, like, he's got some real myths on him.
- 29:23Speaker 3: So we're on tight end. So let's just you know,
- 29:26Speaker 3: knock out the rest of this tight end topic here.
- 29:28Speaker 3: So I wanted to talk about some of the thirty
- 29:30Speaker 3: visits that have been reported that the Patriots have had recently.
- 29:33Speaker 3: It's not necessarily always the best indicator. They did draft
- 29:38Speaker 3: a couple guys from their thirties last year, and I
- 29:40Speaker 3: would say it's a very good indicator of the positions
- 29:43Speaker 3: that they're looking at. You know, it might not be
- 29:45Speaker 3: the player that they draft, but these positions. So let's
- 29:48Speaker 3: just stick on the tight ends. Because we're on the
- 29:50Speaker 3: topic they reportedly are having or had Oscar Delp in
- 29:54Speaker 3: here for a thirty visit. Where do you currently stand
- 29:57Speaker 3: on our Oscar Delp? Because I feel like what.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Happened with the the party everybody.
- 30:01Speaker 3: What happened with Oscar Delp though, is that he started
- 30:03Speaker 3: as this like fringe top one hundred player. Now that
- 30:07Speaker 3: he's had this great pre draft, he's going up, up,
- 30:09Speaker 3: up and up. And what I can't understand figure out
- 30:12Speaker 3: yet is was the media just late in the league
- 30:17Speaker 3: always had him up or are we counting things twice?
- 30:21Speaker 3: And by counting things twice, I mean we know on
- 30:24Speaker 3: tape that he's this explosive athlete. Just because he tested
- 30:27Speaker 3: like an explosive athlete doesn't mean that you should raise
- 30:30Speaker 3: him up around It means that.
- 30:31Speaker 1: He don't change your grade based on what you knew.
- 30:34Speaker 1: I think it's probably like eighty twenty ninety ten. The
- 30:37Speaker 1: thing with Delp is and I've talked about this, he
- 30:41Speaker 1: really didn't have any production in college. He's behind Brock Bauers,
- 30:45Speaker 1: and then when Bauers leaves, they kind of take the
- 30:48Speaker 1: tight end. They really deemphasize that position of the offense.
- 30:51Speaker 1: It's not because they didn't trust Delp. They got new
- 30:52Speaker 1: offensive coordinator who just didn't throw the tight ends as much.
- 30:56Speaker 1: He also really suffered from the quarterback play. I don't
- 30:58Speaker 1: know how much you've actually gone back and watched Gunner
- 31:00Speaker 1: Stockton did him no favorite.
- 31:02Speaker 3: Yeah, there was one and up this scene where he
- 31:04Speaker 3: had the guy beat by like three or four steps,
- 31:06Speaker 3: and he underthrew it so badly that he almost had
- 31:09Speaker 3: to make like the Edelman Super Bowl catch.
- 31:11Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it was so you know, I always and
- 31:14Speaker 1: here's the other thing the teams know more than we do. Right,
- 31:18Speaker 1: A guy stock shooting up sometimes is the media catching up.
- 31:21Speaker 3: Agreed.
- 31:22Speaker 1: I said this from the beginning, Like when everybody was
- 31:25Speaker 1: picking a Delp at one thirty one in their mantra asse,
- 31:27Speaker 1: I said, you're not gonna be able to do that
- 31:29Speaker 1: once we get past the combine. Now he part of
- 31:31Speaker 1: it's got hurt and he missed the combine. He's playing
- 31:33Speaker 1: through a broken foot, which is also awesome, not that
- 31:36Speaker 1: he has a broken foot, but that he played through
- 31:37Speaker 1: it and didn't even know it was broken. So this
- 31:40Speaker 1: is kind of the jump. If he had this jump
- 31:41Speaker 1: after the combine, it would have been, well, that's the combine.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Like guys test well, they move up whatever. So it's
- 31:46Speaker 1: a unique situation. I always viewed him as a top
- 31:48Speaker 1: one hundred talent. I kind of wondered why he was lower.
- 31:51Speaker 1: I think this is just the media catching up. If
- 31:53Speaker 1: you followed college football, if you watched him at Georgia,
- 31:56Speaker 1: you saw and it is more potential than proven ability,
- 31:59Speaker 1: and the lack of production is going to hurt him
- 32:01Speaker 1: in the NFL team's eyes. And that's fair, that's fair.
- 32:04Speaker 1: There are guys that have more catches more yards than him, certainly,
- 32:07Speaker 1: But if you watched him at Georgia and you kind
- 32:09Speaker 1: of saw what he was doing in the bubble of
- 32:12Speaker 1: that offense, he's top one hundred talent.
- 32:16Speaker 3: I would agree that he's a top one hundred talent.
- 32:18Speaker 3: I'm still not ready to say that he's higher than
- 32:20Speaker 3: like a third round pick because of the production. And look,
- 32:23Speaker 3: this happens all the time at that position. I take
- 32:25Speaker 3: him at sixty three, that's high to me.
- 32:27Speaker 1: Like this happens.
- 32:28Speaker 3: All the time that position. I'll give you that caveat Yeah,
- 32:31Speaker 3: that the athlete that doesn't have great college production. I
- 32:34Speaker 3: think George Kittle's kind of like the poster child for
- 32:36Speaker 3: this right and then explodes at the NFL level. I
- 32:39Speaker 3: think the thing about Delp though, to me, is that
- 32:41Speaker 3: he did have some opportunities to have more, yeah, you know,
- 32:46Speaker 3: more production, especially last year. You're drafting a guy that
- 32:49Speaker 3: had twenty catches last year twenty.
- 32:51Speaker 1: So okay, here's my thing about taking him at sixty
- 32:53Speaker 1: three though.
- 32:54Speaker 3: If you take him at sixty three, though, you're expecting
- 32:56Speaker 3: him to be a fifty plus catch guy for you.
- 32:58Speaker 1: I think he can do that in the NFL. Maybe
- 32:59Speaker 1: not in year one, but by the end of his
- 33:00Speaker 1: rookie contract certainly. Here here's my thing on taking him
- 33:04Speaker 1: at sixty three. This tight end class, we had this conversation.
- 33:08Speaker 1: You remember this, like back in September. Is this a
- 33:09Speaker 1: good tight end class or not?
- 33:11Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 33:11Speaker 1: And you know there is no I guess there is
- 33:16Speaker 1: no Tyler Warren and with Colson Lovelin right, Sidiqku's a
- 33:20Speaker 1: good players, a unique player. This class is not top heavy.
- 33:24Speaker 1: I think there's a really good tight end class in
- 33:26Speaker 1: the middle and at the bottom. It's definitely not top heavy. Yeah,
- 33:28Speaker 1: Kenyan City is going to go top twenty. Yeah, I
- 33:31Speaker 1: think he could go top ten personally, but he's going
- 33:33Speaker 1: to go top twenty. It's just like what we talked
- 33:36Speaker 1: about with the tackles. Eli Stower is going to go
- 33:38Speaker 1: top fifty.
- 33:39Speaker 4: Right.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Is Oscar delt the third best tight end in this class?
- 33:44Speaker 1: I think there's a case for it. I don't hate
- 33:46Speaker 1: Max Claire, but I think there's a case either. Is
- 33:49Speaker 1: between those Is drafting the third best tight end to
- 33:52Speaker 1: pick sixty three? Crazy? If you need a tight end?
- 33:55Speaker 3: I guess the question to me because I think with
- 33:57Speaker 3: this tight end class, personally, I think there's no middle C.
- 34:00Speaker 3: I think Sadika is the clear cut number one guy,
- 34:03Speaker 3: and then I think all these other guys that we've
- 34:05Speaker 3: discussed are clustered together. Well, whether you want to call
- 34:10Speaker 3: it like see, I'm looking at it as like one
- 34:13Speaker 3: really good player, no like you know, top fifty tight ends,
- 34:18Speaker 3: and then a bunch of guys that are gonna go
- 34:21Speaker 3: rounds like two through Oh see.
- 34:22Speaker 1: I think the gap between like Claire, Rausch and Delp
- 34:27Speaker 1: versus guys like Injuries, Royer Rarden, that's a gap. To me,
- 34:32Speaker 1: that's a significant gap.
- 34:33Speaker 3: I don't think it's as significant.
- 34:34Speaker 1: I think it's a big gap. I would rather get.
- 34:37Speaker 1: You know, if you don't take is Rauscher, Claire gonna
- 34:42Speaker 1: be there at ninety five, is Delp couldn't be there
- 34:44Speaker 1: in ninety five. I don't think any of those guys will.
- 34:46Speaker 3: Okay, But I think that this is the conversation, right like,
- 34:49Speaker 3: if you don't think those guys are gonna let's say,
- 34:52Speaker 3: let's say you're gonna have to take one of those
- 34:54Speaker 3: players at sixty three, would you rather take Oscar Delp
- 34:57Speaker 3: at sixty three or the next wave that you were
- 35:01Speaker 3: talking about in the fourth round.
- 35:04Speaker 1: I think I'd rather ticked out and maybe you trade
- 35:06Speaker 1: back from sixty three. Maybe that's what it is, you
- 35:08Speaker 1: trade a way up from ninety five.
- 35:09Speaker 3: But I think they're going to be better players at
- 35:12Speaker 3: other positions on the board at sixty three.
- 35:14Speaker 1: So that, okay, that's fair. I'm not really I guess
- 35:15Speaker 1: I'm not considering that.
- 35:16Speaker 3: So I think that's the biggest thing with this tight
- 35:19Speaker 3: end classes that I don't think there's a huge drop
- 35:21Speaker 3: off between probably eight to ten.
- 35:24Speaker 1: Isn't it just so easy you need to go edge
- 35:26Speaker 1: tight end tackle with the first three picks doesn't have
- 35:30Speaker 1: to line up that way.
- 35:31Speaker 4: I know.
- 35:33Speaker 3: There has to be a player there at tight end,
- 35:35Speaker 3: Like I just I have a tough time thinking that they're.
- 35:38Speaker 1: Still Here's my point. If if Claire delp and Raush,
- 35:41Speaker 1: if you have a really good feeling that they're all
- 35:42Speaker 1: going to be gone before ninety five, yes, I'd rather
- 35:46Speaker 1: reach on those guys than miss and again, maybe you
- 35:49Speaker 1: trade back. I think that's going to be a spot
- 35:51Speaker 1: where you can certainly trade back.
- 35:53Speaker 3: I just feel like, is the drop off between Claire
- 35:56Speaker 3: delp Roush significant with rared and Andreies you know, Dalen
- 36:01Speaker 3: Bentley from Utah. I think it is Jolly obviously from
- 36:05Speaker 3: NC state.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Joli's gonna be French top one hunderd guy, but he's
- 36:08Speaker 1: another one.
- 36:09Speaker 3: You were talking about these guys like in clusters, right
- 36:11Speaker 3: and like that. I think that, well, so that's one
- 36:14Speaker 3: Deeks in his own cluster. Then there's like it's different.
- 36:17Speaker 1: I don't think the drop off from delp Rousch and
- 36:20Speaker 1: Claire to Jolie is as big as some of those
- 36:22Speaker 1: other guys just overall. But I don't think Jolie's the
- 36:25Speaker 1: kind of tight end they should be looking at.
- 36:27Speaker 3: Okay, I think our disagreement, if there is one, is
- 36:31Speaker 3: that I view this group clustered a lot closer.
- 36:34Speaker 1: I'm not as big on the like Midday three tight ends.
- 36:37Speaker 3: I feel like this group is. I feel like this
- 36:39Speaker 3: group flattens and then there's just a run of like
- 36:43Speaker 3: twelve guys to I said eight to ten. Maybe eight
- 36:45Speaker 3: to ten. Maybe I'm exaggerating of guys that are all
- 36:49Speaker 3: sort of clustered together. Do I think that Rausch and
- 36:53Speaker 3: delp and those guys are within the cluster or a
- 36:57Speaker 3: tier ahead of the others.
- 36:58Speaker 1: Probably, But I don't think that I think they're I
- 37:00Speaker 1: think of their own cluster that's interesting. I just I
- 37:04Speaker 1: think Delp has a different level his at his size,
- 37:07Speaker 1: his ability to change direction kind of as a route runner,
- 37:11Speaker 1: but mostly after the catch. Like he he's fluid, He's
- 37:14Speaker 1: really fluid.
- 37:15Speaker 3: But he also can.
- 37:16Speaker 1: Struts the field vertically. I don't think because a lot
- 37:17Speaker 1: of times with tight ends they get pigeonholed into chain
- 37:20Speaker 1: mover versus downfield explosive threat like seems to I think
- 37:25Speaker 1: Delp can do both, and there's just not that many guys,
- 37:29Speaker 1: you know, I get that that second group you're talking about.
- 37:32Speaker 1: How many of those guys do you think realistically have
- 37:35Speaker 1: the ability to do both at the NFL level? Will
- 37:37Speaker 1: also being able to block. They might be better individually
- 37:41Speaker 1: as chain movers, They might be better individually as field stretchers.
- 37:44Speaker 1: When I look at a tight end, I want I
- 37:46Speaker 1: want inspector gadget I go go gadget run the underneath, rout,
- 37:51Speaker 1: Go go gadget, run the scene, go go gadget block.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Like I want him to pull any be able to
- 37:54Speaker 1: pull any bag out of the hat, any anywhere. I
- 37:56Speaker 1: mix those up, back out of the hat, hat out
- 37:58Speaker 1: of the bag, whatever like that. That's what I like
- 38:00Speaker 1: about Delp. And that's what I think sets him apart
- 38:02Speaker 1: from those other guys. Rausch maybe isn't his versatile as
- 38:05Speaker 1: a receiver. He's a little more stiff. He's purely a
- 38:07Speaker 1: steam stretcher. But his blocking ability is so far above
- 38:11Speaker 1: those other guys that that's right while still being able
- 38:14Speaker 1: to be a capable of receiver. That's why I put
- 38:16Speaker 1: him that in that next level, and Claire's somewhere in
- 38:19Speaker 1: between that. I just I love the well rounded it.
- 38:23Speaker 1: I wrote it'll be up tomorrow. I wrote my tight
- 38:25Speaker 1: End preview for ninety five The Sports of dot Com.
- 38:28Speaker 1: Over the last couple of days, I kept having to
- 38:31Speaker 1: go to the Soreus because I needed synonyms for well rounded,
- 38:35Speaker 1: because I was using the term well rounded so much
- 38:37Speaker 1: because that's really what I think, especially looking at Josh
- 38:40Speaker 1: McDaniel's history, right, that's what you want the tight End.
- 38:43Speaker 1: You want a guy who can do a little bit
- 38:44Speaker 1: of everything and delp to me more so than anybody else.
- 38:48Speaker 1: He's the Swiss Army Knife, He's Inspector Gadget.
- 38:50Speaker 3: So I think there's two other guys that are I
- 38:52Speaker 3: find in that mold. I think Eli Rariden has the
- 38:55Speaker 3: potential to be in that moldy but he's a little
- 38:58Speaker 3: bit tall and high cut, which his block.
- 39:00Speaker 1: He also has an injury history.
- 39:02Speaker 3: I like Injuries from Texas a lot, and I like
- 39:05Speaker 3: Bentley from Utah a lot. I think both those guys
- 39:07Speaker 3: are pretty well rounded. I think Injuries can block. I
- 39:10Speaker 3: think that he can stretch the seam.
- 39:11Speaker 1: Bentley was like a late breakout as a receiver though, right.
- 39:14Speaker 3: Yeah, Bentley, though, I think is you know, an exciting
- 39:17Speaker 3: player to me, like six', four two fifty. PLUS i
- 39:21Speaker 3: think his blocking is actually a little bit raw right.
- 39:23Speaker 3: Now he's gonna get even better as a, blocker and
- 39:25Speaker 3: he can catch a football pretty loose with the, football you,
- 39:28Speaker 3: know in terms of his like fluidity and stuff like,
- 39:30Speaker 3: that not loose with the ball in terms of. FUMBLES
- 39:33Speaker 3: i think that there's a little bit more there with
- 39:35Speaker 3: those two. Guys SO i, guess like the question, is
- 39:38Speaker 3: is you, know BECAUSE i Think raridan's kind of in
- 39:40Speaker 3: that category as. Well right if you put Like raridan
- 39:44Speaker 3: Injuries bentley on the board around one twenty.
- 39:47Speaker 1: Five what about H, yeah watch as.
- 39:52Speaker 3: MUCH i haven't watched him as much because there's NOT
- 39:55Speaker 3: i don't have a ton Of cincinnati team.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Okay but they're a Chef caldwell's PROT i saw, though like.
- 40:01Speaker 3: He was a little, squatty like he was a LITTLE
- 40:03Speaker 3: i don't, know he just didn't do it for.
- 40:05Speaker 1: Me i'm not as big with him. Either i'm just
- 40:07Speaker 1: he's on the he's also kind of throwing, It YEAH i.
- 40:10Speaker 3: Did he was one guy THAT i feel LIKE i
- 40:12Speaker 3: oh watching a little bit more of and Maybe i'm
- 40:14Speaker 3: just not seeing it quite, yet BUT i, thought like with,
- 40:18Speaker 3: him he's kind of a little bit of a short
- 40:20Speaker 3: strider and he's kind of like squatty. BUILD i had
- 40:23Speaker 3: the same issue with With, jolly to be honest with,
- 40:26Speaker 3: you where LIKE i thought he's kind of stiff and
- 40:28Speaker 3: like because he's a smaller, guy like he doesn't have
- 40:31Speaker 3: those long like eat it up you know the seam
- 40:34Speaker 3: or you know the underneath crossers and things like. That
- 40:36Speaker 3: like he can get up to a pretty good speed,
- 40:39Speaker 3: eventually but it's just takes a. WHILE i don't. Know
- 40:42Speaker 3: that's kind of HOW i felt Like royer two is
- 40:44Speaker 3: like more like. This probably that's probably a first level, player,
- 40:47Speaker 3: yeah you, know not really a guy that's gonna add
- 40:50Speaker 3: much field stretching. Element all, right let's get to some
- 40:53Speaker 3: of these other thirty visits because we could argue about
- 40:56Speaker 3: the tight ends for a. While so there are two
- 40:59Speaker 3: widers on the recent lists of. Reports we've talked a
- 41:03Speaker 3: lot About Casey conceptsio and on this. SHOW i don't
- 41:05Speaker 3: know how much more we need to really say About Casey.
- 41:07Speaker 3: CONCEPTSION i think that the one THING i would just
- 41:11Speaker 3: add with him is that reading and listening to some
- 41:14Speaker 3: other people in the draft community talk about, him it's
- 41:18Speaker 3: really just the ball skills that are holding people. Back
- 41:21Speaker 3: it's really just the fact that he had some drops
- 41:23Speaker 3: on his tape and doesn't have maybe the best ability
- 41:26Speaker 3: to finish through contact and at the catch, point because
- 41:29Speaker 3: the separation in the yards after catch are as good
- 41:33Speaker 3: as it is basically, ANYBODY i would say in this.
- 41:35Speaker 3: Class the guy THAT i really do want to talk about,
- 41:39Speaker 3: though and debate a little bit with you about Is
- 41:41Speaker 3: Design Stripling dejonjon stribbling From Ole Miss who is a
- 41:46Speaker 3: guy that YOU i think are this is one of your.
- 41:49Speaker 3: Crushes it seems, like just LIKE i was watching, you
- 41:53Speaker 3: you know too many people to really have. CRUSHES i
- 41:55Speaker 3: feel like it's.
- 41:55Speaker 1: NO i did you not just hear the WAY i
- 41:57Speaker 1: talked About Oscar.
- 41:58Speaker 3: Dell you do really Liked that's. TRUE i do.
- 42:01Speaker 1: Actually have a guy that is probably becoming more of
- 42:04Speaker 1: a draft, crush but it's no. Level no stripling was.
- 42:06Speaker 1: Work do you remember last year before The Senior, BOWL
- 42:09Speaker 1: i Watched Kyle williams and THEN i looked and he
- 42:11Speaker 1: was like eight hundred on the consensus, Board and SO
- 42:14Speaker 1: i texted. YOU i text a bunch of other. People i'm,
- 42:15Speaker 1: like AM i missing? Something did he not declare for the? Draft?
- 42:18Speaker 1: Is they're like and off the field LIKE i just
- 42:20Speaker 1: couldn't figure it. Out and THEN i was just a
- 42:22Speaker 1: little early to the like from a media. Standpoint, Yeah
- 42:25Speaker 1: so after the Show wednesday, NIGHT i start putting together
- 42:28Speaker 1: my mock draft And I'M i forget what brought it.
- 42:30Speaker 1: Up i'm watching stribling And i'm, like, oh this is
- 42:34Speaker 1: like more THAN i was. Expecting he was like one
- 42:36Speaker 1: sixty one to seventy on the consensus. Board, Yeah i'm
- 42:39Speaker 1: like compared to the other players in that, Range i'm,
- 42:41Speaker 1: like there's a lot more. Here what AM i? Missing
- 42:43Speaker 1: AND i, GO i, look nobody's really written about. Him
- 42:45Speaker 1: there's not a ton you know on social. Media Bottom
- 42:47Speaker 1: SO i text YOU i text some, People i'm, like
- 42:48Speaker 1: what if you watched this? Guy AM i missing something
- 42:51Speaker 1: that's going on? Here not seeing a lot about? Him
- 42:52Speaker 1: AM i imagining? Things and then the next day it's
- 42:55Speaker 1: reported that The patriots are meeting with him for a thirty. Visit,
- 42:58Speaker 1: yeah so that happened three times. Week Adam randalls A,
- 43:01Speaker 1: Key wattley and And Dejeon. Stribbling so we'll see if
- 43:03Speaker 1: it happens with the fourth. Guy we'll get doing a little.
- 43:05Speaker 1: Bit but we have pat yourself on the back.
- 43:07Speaker 3: THERE I i like.
- 43:10Speaker 7: For what he.
- 43:11Speaker 1: IS i Like, Stribbling AND i think the interesting thing
- 43:13Speaker 1: where The patriots are when you talk about receiver in this,
- 43:16Speaker 1: draft there's THE Aj brown of it all, Right AND
- 43:20Speaker 1: i think it's pretty clear at this point just from
- 43:22Speaker 1: WHAT i Don't this is no inside information for, me
- 43:24Speaker 1: but like the reports are out, there this isn't getting
- 43:27Speaker 1: resolved before the. Draft, no it's going to be a
- 43:29Speaker 1: post tune one.
- 43:30Speaker 4: Thing so.
- 43:32Speaker 1: You know if it can happen and from us on the,
- 43:35Speaker 1: outside AND i guess it doesn't really, Not but.
- 43:39Speaker 7: Like.
- 43:41Speaker 1: How do you? Draft how do you approach? Receiver if
- 43:43Speaker 1: you might Have Aj brown but you might.
- 43:45Speaker 3: Not, yeah right IF i, wrote you, KNOW i told
- 43:49Speaker 3: you we're doing our mock, drafts AND i this is
- 43:51Speaker 3: WHAT i wrote at the top of the mock, drafts
- 43:53Speaker 3: was like, too if they trade for A. J brown
- 43:56Speaker 3: and they have that in their back, pocket they probably
- 44:00Speaker 3: don't need to draft a receiver at. All no versus
- 44:03Speaker 3: if they do. Trade if they don't trade FOR Aj,
- 44:05Speaker 3: brown excuse, me if they don't HAVE Aj, brown you
- 44:08Speaker 3: might draft a receiver at thirty. One like this is
- 44:10Speaker 3: literally the difference between it being a first round pick
- 44:12Speaker 3: and you're on your draft sheet and being not on the.
- 44:15Speaker 1: Board but you also have to even if you think
- 44:17Speaker 1: you're trading for, him if you. Haven't there's an old,
- 44:19Speaker 1: saying you haven't caught the fish till you got it
- 44:20Speaker 1: in the, boat, Right like you got to prepare for.
- 44:23Speaker 1: That so how do you almost split the? Difference and
- 44:26Speaker 1: that's a wide, receiver mid round wide receiver who can
- 44:29Speaker 1: do some of the things THAT Aj brown, does like,
- 44:31Speaker 1: stylistically he profiles. SIMILARLY Aj brown obviously does it as
- 44:34Speaker 1: at a much higher. Level and the other thing is
- 44:35Speaker 1: we've TALKED Aj brown's twenty nine and you, know you
- 44:38Speaker 1: get a year or two out of him Maybe stribbling's
- 44:40Speaker 1: a guy further down the road that grows into a bigger.
- 44:42Speaker 1: Role the THING i like About stribbling and the REASON
- 44:44Speaker 1: i Like stribbling for The patriots specifically more than some
- 44:49Speaker 1: of the other receivers in that. Range, yeah he does
- 44:53Speaker 1: something The patriots don't currently have on the, roster not
- 44:56Speaker 1: in a pack. Like he has, size okay Mac collins'.
- 44:59Speaker 1: Side he has, speed, Okay Kyle williams's. Speed he has
- 45:02Speaker 1: contested catchability, Okay Keisehan budi is that those are three separate,
- 45:06Speaker 1: players and he can do all those. Things you know
- 45:09Speaker 1: six two two oh seven ran a four four to three.
- 45:13Speaker 1: SIX i, BELIEVE i know he's in the four. Threes,
- 45:14Speaker 1: yes he's got really really good body control and he
- 45:19Speaker 1: can go outside his frame catch the. Ball it allows
- 45:21Speaker 1: him to kind of stop start on a. Dime his hitch,
- 45:23Speaker 1: routes his comeback, routes his curls are all really. Good
- 45:26Speaker 1: he can get vertical as. Well for his. Size i'd
- 45:28Speaker 1: like to see him be a better contested catch. Receiver
- 45:30Speaker 1: and that's kind of the big knock for. Me the other,
- 45:33Speaker 1: one he's not like nobody's gonna confuse him For Julian.
- 45:37Speaker 1: Edelman he's not great at changing, direction BUT i think
- 45:40Speaker 1: for a player his, size it. Works he's not as
- 45:43Speaker 1: stiff AS i expected a player his size to, be
- 45:46Speaker 1: especially a player projected to go in that. Range so
- 45:48Speaker 1: he's currently won fifty six on the big. Board he'd
- 45:51Speaker 1: be in play for me at one twenty. Five, Yeah
- 45:53Speaker 1: SO i JUST i think he brings some things to
- 45:55Speaker 1: the table that they don't. HAVE i do think there's
- 45:59Speaker 1: some upside with. Him and though he's twenty, three he
- 46:02Speaker 1: did play a gimmicky offense in college and didn't you,
- 46:05Speaker 1: know we didn't have a thousand yard, Season so there's
- 46:06Speaker 1: the production. Knock but LIKE i Trust dodd downingymore Than
- 46:10Speaker 1: i've trusted their wide receiver coaches in the, PAST i
- 46:13Speaker 1: think they can find a role for. Him and if
- 46:14Speaker 1: they trade for A. J, brown maybe that role, diminishes
- 46:17Speaker 1: BUT i don't think it goes away. Entirely that's one
- 46:19Speaker 1: other thing about. Him he blocks his ass. Off that
- 46:21Speaker 1: guy loves to block and he's good at. It so
- 46:25Speaker 1: you know some people are probably her big receiver who
- 46:27Speaker 1: likes to, block And Quill Harry all, right well it's
- 46:29Speaker 1: one twenty. FIVE i wouldn't take him at thirty.
- 46:31Speaker 3: One he also runs a four to. Three he also
- 46:33Speaker 3: run what did he?
- 46:33Speaker 1: Kill? Run four or? Five was it? That? Wow? YEAH
- 46:36Speaker 1: i almost talking about him one twenty, Five LIKE i
- 46:38Speaker 1: probably wouldn't take him at ninety. Six, yeah he's A
- 46:40Speaker 1: day three pick to. Me but as far As day
- 46:42Speaker 1: three picks, GO i like his, MAKEUP i like what
- 46:44Speaker 1: he brings the. Table i'd be in on. Him i'd
- 46:46Speaker 1: be in on, Him AND i think he perfectly splits
- 46:48Speaker 1: that gap where all, right he probably doesn't solve all
- 46:51Speaker 1: your problems if you don't GET Aj, Brown but there
- 46:53Speaker 1: are some things you would ASK Aj brown to do
- 46:55Speaker 1: that you don't have any other guys on the roster
- 46:57Speaker 1: that can. Do he's not he can probably.
- 46:59Speaker 3: Do he's not guy after the catch AT Aj brown Is.
- 47:02Speaker 1: No that's the big.
- 47:02Speaker 3: Gap AND i don't know IF Aj brown is that guy.
- 47:04Speaker 3: Anymore but at least when we're talking about the idea
- 47:08Speaker 3: OF Aj, brown assuming that maybe this last year In
- 47:11Speaker 3: philly was just kind of, him CAN i being chucking?
- 47:14Speaker 1: Out CAN i push back on the after the catch
- 47:15Speaker 1: thing a little?
- 47:16Speaker 3: Bit he doesn't have.
- 47:17Speaker 1: That there is one when he runs the comeback he's
- 47:22Speaker 1: really good at if the corner bites too, much you
- 47:25Speaker 1: know that play where like turn Like Malcolm, mitchell, right
- 47:28Speaker 1: the reverse tee, step like making the pay on the t,
- 47:31Speaker 1: step and then he has the four to three speed.
- 47:34Speaker 1: Pulway he's really good at that. Play. Like he's not
- 47:36Speaker 1: somebody to throw screens. Too he's not somebody's gonna create
- 47:39Speaker 1: a lot after a. Slant but on that, comeback Which
- 47:42Speaker 1: drake was pretty good at throwing last. Year, yeah he
- 47:45Speaker 1: does have a knack for getting his hips, turned you,
- 47:48Speaker 1: know taking advantage of the, corner taking a bad angle
- 47:51Speaker 1: and getting up the. FIELD i like him there after the,
- 47:53Speaker 1: catch after, that, yeah the other. Stuff he, again nobody's
- 47:56Speaker 1: gonna stake him For Julian edelman after the, catch nobody's
- 47:58Speaker 1: gon to mistake him For Pop. Douglas, there there is
- 48:00Speaker 1: a little bit of something, there more so THAN i
- 48:02Speaker 1: would expect from a guy his.
- 48:03Speaker 3: Size, okay So i'm Gonna i'm gonna agree on that
- 48:06Speaker 3: And i'm gonna disagree with. YOU i think the two
- 48:08Speaker 3: things that stand out to me WHEN i watched him
- 48:10Speaker 3: were ability to be press coverage is. Good it definitely
- 48:14Speaker 3: has some wiggle at the line of. Scrimmage some lateral
- 48:17Speaker 3: quickness at the line of scrimmage and acceleration in the
- 48:20Speaker 3: initial ten yards or so off the line of scrimmage
- 48:23Speaker 3: is really good to stack. Corners he had one rep
- 48:25Speaker 3: Against georgia from the slot where he just dusted to
- 48:28Speaker 3: the corner and press his repressive. Rep those reps are.
- 48:32Speaker 3: NICE i do really like his. VERSATILITY i think that
- 48:36Speaker 3: that's one thing that you didn't necessarily hit on THAT
- 48:38Speaker 3: i just wanted to add in.
- 48:39Speaker 1: There, WELL i like him on the, outside but, sure.
- 48:41Speaker 3: But he's a guy THAT i think can move around
- 48:43Speaker 3: a little. Bit they actually even had Him.
- 48:45Speaker 1: Sorry just real, quick because you just mentioned it to
- 48:46Speaker 1: your point About. Georgia, yeah AND i know you're big
- 48:48Speaker 1: on this with the he plays with BRASS i.
- 48:50Speaker 3: Know and it made me feel worse about The Chris
- 48:52Speaker 3: brassele thing because Maybe georgia just didn't play well.
- 48:56Speaker 1: Good receiver, Maybe, yeah MAYBE i should feel worse About Dylan,
- 48:59Speaker 1: everett WHO i, like Butainst. Georgian, yeah he had he
- 49:02Speaker 1: had a regular. Season both games Against georgia were.
- 49:06Speaker 3: Good, yeah and HE i would say like they used
- 49:09Speaker 3: him almost like sort of like on the wing as
- 49:13Speaker 3: like an h back type of thing where they'd like
- 49:15Speaker 3: put him behind uh the offensive. Line, yeah and he'd
- 49:20Speaker 3: like run slide routes and he'd. Block like the blocking
- 49:22Speaker 3: didn't go so hot from there because he's not that.
- 49:25Speaker 3: Big you, know he's not tight, end so he's like
- 49:27Speaker 3: but like at least he's. There you, know it's a
- 49:29Speaker 3: speed bump to the.
- 49:30Speaker 6: Ball.
- 49:31Speaker 3: Uh and then they obviously hit him, off would hit
- 49:33Speaker 3: him on those slide routes or those submarine routes under
- 49:35Speaker 3: the line of scrimmage where like once he hits that
- 49:38Speaker 3: runway at four to, three like you got some speed
- 49:40Speaker 3: after the. CATCH i think the one thing THAT i
- 49:42Speaker 3: maybe didn't see as, much AND i know you're not
- 49:45Speaker 3: saying that he's like the quickest guy in and out of,
- 49:47Speaker 3: breaks horizontal, cuts first and second level, separation all those
- 49:52Speaker 3: things would be concerns for. ME i did not see
- 49:55Speaker 3: a guy that was a big separator at the top
- 49:58Speaker 3: of the route when he was asked. Cut if you're
- 50:00Speaker 3: asking him to do things on the vertical routrey running
- 50:03Speaker 3: it's trying to come back in that type of. Sea
- 50:06Speaker 3: the concern THAT i would have with that is THAT i,
- 50:09Speaker 3: think if you're going to be really good in that,
- 50:12Speaker 3: role you have to have a. Slant you have to
- 50:14Speaker 3: either be able to run a slant or be able
- 50:16Speaker 3: to run it under one of those two routes like
- 50:18Speaker 3: a short in because you need to have something into
- 50:23Speaker 3: the middle of the field at the first level because
- 50:25Speaker 3: otherwise the, corners you, know it eliminates the middle of
- 50:28Speaker 3: the field from your press release package and so they
- 50:31Speaker 3: don't have to worry about you releasing and breaking. Inside
- 50:34Speaker 3: so like now they can sit on the hitches that
- 50:36Speaker 3: comebacks and the. Verticals.
- 50:38Speaker 1: Right SO.
- 50:40Speaker 3: I always say it's you, Know i'm probably not giving
- 50:42Speaker 3: him enough credit because he's an, awesome like all time,
- 50:44Speaker 3: Player but Like Dez bryant ran like three routes. Too
- 50:47Speaker 3: he ran a, slant a, comeback and a go and
- 50:51Speaker 3: he made almost a Borderline hall Of fame career running three.
- 50:54Speaker 3: Routes that to me is the base line of any
- 50:58Speaker 3: type of receiver in that. MOLD i don't know If
- 51:00Speaker 3: stribbling has that first level quickness to separate on a,
- 51:04Speaker 3: Slant so can he develop? It is it something that you,
- 51:08Speaker 3: know he just wasn't asked to do a lot because
- 51:10Speaker 3: of the nature of the. Offense all fair, points like
- 51:12Speaker 3: maybe he CAN i think he's going to be where
- 51:15Speaker 3: he's going to go because he's kind he's kind of
- 51:18Speaker 3: a one trick pony at this, point you. Know BUT
- 51:21Speaker 3: i think that that's if that's what he could, develop mind.
- 51:25Speaker 1: Slant if you felt he could develop a, slant if.
- 51:27Speaker 3: He could develop some sort of first level separation just
- 51:30Speaker 3: to get corners to respect the first level, route THEN
- 51:34Speaker 3: i would feel like he could probably be a top
- 51:37Speaker 3: one hundred.
- 51:37Speaker 1: Guy can just his release help with? That you mentioned,
- 51:39Speaker 1: RELEASE i.
- 51:41Speaker 3: Think that it mostly is the top of the, route
- 51:43Speaker 3: and so LIKE i think it's the separation at the
- 51:45Speaker 3: top of the, route the addability to sink, hips accelerate
- 51:49Speaker 3: through the break, point open up your hips and. Cut you,
- 51:54Speaker 3: know when you watch him kind of break at the
- 51:55Speaker 3: top of the, route it takes like an extra. Step
- 51:58Speaker 3: you want most of the, time you want receivers that
- 52:00Speaker 3: can break in three. Steps you have three steps as
- 52:03Speaker 3: efficient at THE nfl. Level, right you have a step
- 52:06Speaker 3: into the, break the, brake and then your drive, step
- 52:09Speaker 3: which is the most important. Step so when you come
- 52:11Speaker 3: out of the break with the drive, step you want
- 52:14Speaker 3: your foot to already be pointing where you want to.
- 52:17Speaker 3: Go you don't want that foot to still be pointing
- 52:19Speaker 3: up the. Field so guys that have great drive, steps
- 52:23Speaker 3: like you, know for, Example i'll just use the pinnacle
- 52:26Speaker 3: probably in the league right, Now Jackson smith And. Jigba
- 52:29Speaker 3: he has that ability to already be opening his foot
- 52:32Speaker 3: in his hip towards the break so that he can
- 52:35Speaker 3: just accelerate right through the, break whereas other guys are
- 52:38Speaker 3: still moving. Forward they're still moving upfield when they, break
- 52:41Speaker 3: and that's why you get those false steps and struggle
- 52:44Speaker 3: to gather their weight and sink and. Cut so a
- 52:48Speaker 3: lot of these, guys Like i'll give you another example
- 52:51Speaker 3: in That, MOLD i really enjoyed watching Ted. HURST i
- 52:54Speaker 3: thought that he has some gidea. UP i think he
- 52:56Speaker 3: has some size that's, Rare like he's you, know kind
- 53:01Speaker 3: of like knock OFF dk metcalf right like where like
- 53:03Speaker 3: he has all like really good, size really good vertical,
- 53:06Speaker 3: ability but he's a little bit clunky at the top
- 53:08Speaker 3: of the, Route like he might take four or five
- 53:11Speaker 3: steps to gather and cut when you need to be
- 53:13Speaker 3: able to take. Three AND i think that that's what
- 53:15Speaker 3: separates guys that are like elite versus guys that are
- 53:18Speaker 3: put by lance in that group. Too, YES i would
- 53:21Speaker 3: Put Bryce Lance like a lot of people, Say Bryce
- 53:23Speaker 3: lance is Like Christian. WATSON i the reason WHY i
- 53:26Speaker 3: would push back on that Is Christian watson was such a,
- 53:28Speaker 3: fluid smooth athlete Like Christian. Watson WHEN i think At
- 53:33Speaker 3: christian and it's obviously helmet scouting With Bryce lance to
- 53:36Speaker 3: compare him To Christian. Watson BUT i remember Watching Christian
- 53:39Speaker 3: watson when he came out of, college and remember when
- 53:42Speaker 3: he would take like handoffs out of the backfield at,
- 53:45Speaker 3: college And i'd be, like oh My, God like this
- 53:47Speaker 3: guy's you, know six two, plus great, speed and he's
- 53:51Speaker 3: got the fluidity and sort of the you, know the
- 53:53Speaker 3: movement skill to be able to like basically take like
- 53:56Speaker 3: sweeps and handoffs out of the. Backfield you, know these
- 53:59Speaker 3: guys too stiff for, That like they're too rigid for
- 54:02Speaker 3: that type of those types of. Actions last one here
- 54:05Speaker 3: on the thirty. Visits that will take our break and
- 54:07Speaker 3: then we'll get into our roster reset and calls and
- 54:10Speaker 3: emails and all that good. Stuff caden McDonald From Ohio,
- 54:14Speaker 3: state the nose tackle From Ohio state reported and on
- 54:16Speaker 3: a thirty visit with The, patriots to me and AGAIN
- 54:20Speaker 3: i have no inside, information like we always say on the,
- 54:22Speaker 3: SHOW i would just say that this one is really
- 54:27Speaker 3: good player right in our. Range we should probably do
- 54:30Speaker 3: some homework on, him, right you. KNOW i don't know
- 54:32Speaker 3: if it's the biggest. NEED i don't know if it's
- 54:35Speaker 3: the direction that they end up going, in but they
- 54:37Speaker 3: should know they should have an extensive report done On caden.
- 54:42Speaker 3: McDonald it's the right thing to. Do the one thing
- 54:44Speaker 3: THAT i really like About caden McDonald that kind of
- 54:47Speaker 3: separates him from typical nose. Tackles he is a playmaking nose,
- 54:52Speaker 3: Tackle like he had like thirty plus run stops last.
- 54:54Speaker 3: Year this is a guy that makes plays on the
- 54:57Speaker 3: other side of the line of scrimmage as a no.
- 55:00Speaker 3: Tackle so this is not a space. Eater this is
- 55:03Speaker 3: not somebody that's just gonna clog lanes and hold up
- 55:05Speaker 3: blocks and build a wall and all that kind of.
- 55:08Speaker 3: Stuff he gets off, blocks he, Penetrates he stuff's runs
- 55:12Speaker 3: a really really high.
- 55:13Speaker 1: Rate, Yeah i'm with, you maybe doing their due, diligence
- 55:17Speaker 1: maybe trying to you, know there's some teams that need
- 55:18Speaker 1: to nose tackle the top of the second. Round, yeah
- 55:21Speaker 1: trying to scare them into a trade up potentially if
- 55:23Speaker 1: it comes to. That so, YEAH i don't, know it
- 55:28Speaker 1: would be a weird pick for.
- 55:29Speaker 3: Me it would really quickly and THEN i will take this.
- 55:32Speaker 3: Break where do you stand On mendoza versus Ty? Simpson
- 55:37Speaker 3: because we can't be in the draft community and not
- 55:39Speaker 3: give our take on. This so we have thirty seconds
- 55:42Speaker 3: before the break to give a take on Dan orlowski
- 55:46Speaker 3: right lighting the world on.
- 55:47Speaker 1: Fire, look if people want to have their differing, TAKES
- 55:51Speaker 1: i have nothing against differing. Takes like if you want
- 55:53Speaker 1: to say Ty simpson and there's always a quarterback that
- 55:56Speaker 1: gets too gassed. Up AND i talked about this the other.
- 55:58Speaker 1: Week it's unfair to the, quarterback unfair TO jj, McCarthy you,
- 56:01Speaker 1: know because the expectations become so high and then they
- 56:04Speaker 1: get dumped on for being in a situation they should
- 56:06Speaker 1: have never. Been In, SURE i thought it was gonna
- 56:09Speaker 1: be nusmya raller that got this super artificial. HYPE i
- 56:12Speaker 1: didn't think it was gonna Be Tye simpson because his
- 56:14Speaker 1: games just very. Vanilla he's noth't necessarily wrong with. That
- 56:17Speaker 1: it was very. Vanilla but, like if you want to
- 56:19Speaker 1: have a different opinion by all means have. IT i
- 56:22Speaker 1: Had Jamier gibbs ahead of B Jean robinson in that,
- 56:24Speaker 1: draft which didn't turn. Out probably as wrong as it
- 56:27Speaker 1: looked at the. Time so probably, wrong but not as
- 56:29Speaker 1: wrong as it looked at the.
- 56:30Speaker 3: Time, yeah they were just both.
- 56:32Speaker 1: Good they're both but LIKE i had reasons for, It
- 56:35Speaker 1: LIKE i went, IN i did the, RESEARCH i backed it.
- 56:37Speaker 1: Up Saying Fernando mendoza didn't play in big. Games it's just,
- 56:41Speaker 1: False it's just patently.
- 56:43Speaker 3: False, yeah that was.
- 56:44Speaker 1: Weird One national championship Beat ohio was Tab Generational Dye
- 56:47Speaker 1: make ten.
- 56:48Speaker 3: Championship he felt like he didn't play well in the big.
- 56:51Speaker 3: Games back and Watch Ohio. STATE i, mean he didn't
- 56:53Speaker 3: play very well until the.
- 56:54Speaker 1: End go back and what he did to That miami.
- 56:56Speaker 1: Defense what were they up On alabama? Again was it
- 56:58Speaker 1: thirty something and?
- 56:59Speaker 3: Nothing?
- 57:00Speaker 1: Nothing so you, know if you want to come with
- 57:02Speaker 1: distats and, whatever we'll simply you, Know mendoza was heavily
- 57:06Speaker 1: reliant on RPOs and maybe ed town around.
- 57:08Speaker 4: Them.
- 57:08Speaker 1: Whatever just crazy to say about N indian a, quarterback
- 57:11Speaker 1: but like fine to say he didn't play in big.
- 57:13Speaker 1: Game And dan also he had a, chance like they
- 57:16Speaker 1: gave him an out to, Say, oh, no you mean
- 57:18Speaker 1: he didn't play. Well, no you just say didn't play
- 57:20Speaker 1: in big games like you got. It you got to
- 57:21Speaker 1: come with something better than. That that's the reality of.
- 57:23Speaker 8: IT i just.
- 57:24Speaker 1: Agree and if you but if you want to have the,
- 57:26Speaker 1: debate we can have. Debate you have to have the
- 57:28Speaker 1: debate and good. Faith you can't say things that aren't.
- 57:29Speaker 3: True so let me be clear in saying that we
- 57:34Speaker 3: all have blind spots and we all miss when it
- 57:36Speaker 3: comes to this kind of. Stuff the one thing THAT
- 57:38Speaker 3: i have noticed about former quarterbacks when they evaluate draft
- 57:43Speaker 3: prospects is they probably lean a little bit heavier towards, mechanics.
- 57:50Speaker 3: Footwork progression reads like just the nuances and like the
- 57:56Speaker 3: details of the. Position where if they're just strictly grading
- 58:01Speaker 3: tape and they're saying this is how a coaching staff
- 58:06Speaker 3: would grade this, film that's not necessarily the. Draft the
- 58:11Speaker 3: draft is a lot of. Projecting it's a lot of
- 58:14Speaker 3: ceiling projection in particular of like who has more, skill
- 58:20Speaker 3: who has more raw, athleticism who has a stronger, arm
- 58:24Speaker 3: who has more tools in his, toolbox who has a
- 58:28Speaker 3: more running, ability who has more ability to drive the
- 58:31Speaker 3: football into tight, windows to make different types of, throws
- 58:34Speaker 3: to layer, footballs to drive, footballs like all these different
- 58:38Speaker 3: types of things are not did he make the right,
- 58:40Speaker 3: read did he throw on? Time did he have the right,
- 58:42Speaker 3: footwork and all that kind of. Stuff so when we
- 58:45Speaker 3: get into these draft conversations and this is you, know
- 58:49Speaker 3: we just went through this a couple of years, AGO
- 58:51Speaker 3: i feel Like Drake maygott was getting dragged down by
- 58:55Speaker 3: a lot of these types of people because he was
- 58:57Speaker 3: not a polished prospect coming out of. College but what
- 59:00Speaker 3: they were missing was that he was functionally a good
- 59:04Speaker 3: quarterback at the. Time his floor was higher than they,
- 59:07Speaker 3: thought and his athleticism and his traits were just so
- 59:10Speaker 3: so good that once all the other type of details
- 59:14Speaker 3: that can be coached got caught, up he was gonna
- 59:16Speaker 3: be what he is, today which is A mvp caliber.
- 59:19Speaker 3: Quarterback SO i always see this time of, Year Ty
- 59:23Speaker 3: simpsons this, year and, look he ended up being better
- 59:26Speaker 3: THAN i probably gave him credit. For but Like Bo,
- 59:28Speaker 3: nicks was this guy In Drake may's draft where it's
- 59:31Speaker 3: like the quarterbacks coach, quarterback you, know like this is
- 59:36Speaker 3: the coach coach's pick because he does. Everything he's, polished he's,
- 59:41Speaker 3: detailed all that kind of. STUFF i feel like when
- 59:44Speaker 3: guys Like orlovsky watched people like Ty, simpson that's what they.
- 59:48Speaker 3: See they see a pro ready. Quarterback what they don't
- 59:52Speaker 3: see WHAT i was watched BECAUSE i didn't really watch
- 59:55Speaker 3: Ty simpson. NECESSARILY i did watch a lot Of Jeremy,
- 59:59Speaker 3: bernard AND i would See Jeremy bernard open on the
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: sideline on like an, out And i'd See tye Sim
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: simpson throwing skip passes to, him or i'd see tie you,
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: Know Jeremy bernard Or Ryan williams get opened behind the
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: defense And Tye simpson threw, them you, know short armed
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: it and threw it back into coverage and made them
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: stop and wait on the. Football uh for some, reason
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: like if they're making the right read and they look
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: the right they look mechanically tied. Together the quarterback people
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: just say, yep like, right, oh, well you, know, okay
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: so you couldn't put the fifty yard bomb on a. Dot,
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: well in THE, nfl you need to put that ball
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: on a dot because that's gonna get picked off if
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: you don't do.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: That at the.
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: League At, alabama he might have been able to get
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: away with. That SO i think it's it's it's sort
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: of just what how you are evaluating the tape can
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: change depending on if you're looking through it FROM i
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: would look at Watching patriots film and during the, SEASON
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: i watched that film differently THAN i watched film for the.
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: Draft it's two different sort of. Things this is why
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: you know teams have scouts and teams have position coaches
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: and they're usually not the same. People is because it's
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: two different types of. Things it's not two different itches to.

- 1:03:45Speaker 2: Up?
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: Patty, hey good, Afternoon.
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: Jen we doing.
- 1:03:51Speaker 11: SO i apologize if you guys brought any running backs,
- 1:03:54Speaker 11: up BUT i know how you guys feel About Adam
- 1:03:57Speaker 11: randall And Mike mike Uh, WASHINGTON i, believe BUT i
- 1:04:01Speaker 11: wanted to know if what you guys thought about both
- 1:04:05Speaker 11: of The Penn state running. Backs do you guys think
- 1:04:08Speaker 11: that They're day three guys and either of them are
- 1:04:11Speaker 11: good fits with this? Team And i'll take it off, there.
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: Guys, thanks thanks for the, Call. Patty so you know, Me,
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: alex the hardest thing for me to do with the
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: draft ace is to watch running. Backs it's the hardest.
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: THING i Can't IT'S i always wait until Like april
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: to get to the running backs BECAUSE i hate watching running.
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: BACKS i just don't know. Why it just doesn't move the.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: Need it's, just you know what it is is like
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: running backs in, college especially the backs that come from
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: the big, schools they have so much room to do
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: things That i'm just, LIKE i don't think that this
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: any of this translates, Right, like there's just so much
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: open space for this guy that all he is doing
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: is running straight really fast in a straight. Line and
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: although he had a really good rookie season And i'm
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: still high on him as a. Player, YEAH i think
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: we saw some of this With Trayvon henderson last year
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: where when it came to really reading through the line
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: of scrimmage and finding the right entry points and why you,
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: know going where the defense isn't and all that kind of.
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: Stuff vision is really WHAT i should be saying that it's.
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: Hard it's a hard skill to. Translate as far as
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: what he, Asked Mike washington's expected to be a pretty high.
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: Draft he's gonna eight a great. Combine he's gonna go
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: he he's gonna, go you, know top.
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: SEVENTY i think if they drafted running back in the
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: first two rounds that would make zero.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: S i to, me the highest is one seventy, one
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: like even one thirty, one which is probably where you
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: need to Take singleton Or. Allen who are The Penn state. Guys,
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: yeah the profile kind of. Similarly they're both, big physical.
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: Backs singleton is a little more more, explosiveness a little
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: more juice in his. Game you, know they run, hard
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: they're tough to. Tackle they, can you, know compete between
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: the tackles your. PLAYERS i don't know that i'd want
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: The pagers take running back that. High they definitely fit
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: the MOLD i think of what The patriots are looking
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: for in the, position just a matter if they want
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: to draft on that high Like singleton could go top you, know,
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: fringe top one. Hundred, yeah So allen's probably a little
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: bit later because single then are really good twenty twenty
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: four and then kind of came back down to earth
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: a little bit last, year as did most players of
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: That Penn state. PROGRAM i think it's more about the
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: program than the. Player, yeah they're good. PLAYERS i like.
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: THEM i can Play.
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: Adam, randall another guy THAT i was. ON i thought
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: we talked about him last, week which.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: We, did AND i told you you need to watch,
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: him and you, like we're going to refuse, to but
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: now they've met with, him you kind of have. To
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: he's also not your typical running. Back watch, like there's
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: a lot.
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: So that's What that's WHAT i like about him is
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: that he does a lot more than just run the
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: football between the tackles or something like.
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: THAT i love.
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: IT i like the idea of adding somebody with some
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: kickoff return. JUICE i think that he AND i know
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: it's a lazy comparison to compare him To, patterson but
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: WHAT i WOULD i think about the comparison is LIKE
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: i do think he can catch the ball a little
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: bit and play a little bit of a receiver as.
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: Well so like it's not like you're just rafting another
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: guy to eat, carries, Right like this is a guy
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: that's going to bring BECAUSE i just. Can't the THING
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: i struggled with the running backs with The, patriots, yeah
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: is That Ramandra stevenson And Trevon henderson are gonna be
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: are going to be your running backs next year one
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: of them gets, hurt of, course that's always a. Caveat
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: but at the same, time LIKE i would like to
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: add a running back that's going to bring something a
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: little bit, unique, sure because if they're all three of
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: them are, healthy then you want, roles you, know for
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: all three. Guys randall could do.
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: That, Randal, YEAH i mean he's got to learn some
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: of the finer points of playing the, position not just
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: like what you were talking about, earlier the field division
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: stuff and all. That he's got to learn how to pass.
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: Block he's not really to do, that but six, three two,
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: thirty like he's got a frame to do. It So
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: I'm i'm still big into the idea Of Adam randall
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: in the sixth, round and it seems like they you,
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: know they met with, him so, yeah?
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: Agreed all, Right zach is In New. Hampshire what's, Up?
- 1:07:51Speaker 7: ZACH i THINK i thinks pick my. CALL i just
- 1:07:55Speaker 7: wanted to know who is your favorite prospect in the
- 1:07:58Speaker 7: entire draft of The patriots this? Year and then also
- 1:08:03Speaker 7: what do you Think Kyle williams role will be next?
- 1:08:05Speaker 7: YEAR i was a big fan of the pick when
- 1:08:06Speaker 7: they made, it AND i just wanted to hear your
- 1:08:08Speaker 7: thoughts from. That thanks, Guys, yeah.
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: Thanks for the. Call is at your favorite prospect for
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: The patriots in the?
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: DRAFTS a tough one pound for pound all things, consider
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: it might be Depe do you really really? MIGHT i
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: think he can? Play, YEAH i, mean don't get me,
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: Wrong it's NOT i SAY i take him at thirty,
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: One LIKE i think some of these edge rushers are,
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: Better but like for where you're going to get, him
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: for what he could potentially give, YOU i don't, KNOW
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: i really like, him CAN i? Say Jordan? Tyson, no you.
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: Can and that's that weird thing, Though like if he
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: falls to thirty, one there's a. Reason how bad is his?
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: Hamstring how bad are his? Medicals going? That, like do
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: you want to take him at thirty. One, yeah, yeah you,
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: KNOW i like Like, MESIDOR i Like. Akis, yeah it's
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: a tough question to.
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: ANSWER i think it's a tough question to answer because
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: they're picking him thirty, one, right so there's not like
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: this obvious. Talent you, KNOW i Watched Jordan tyson the
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: other day BECAUSE I i texted you and, said DO
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: i have to Watch Jordan tyson because of all this
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: buzz about the injuries knocking him down the? Board SO i.
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: DID i, mean it's only it's only gonna be injury.
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: Related it's not gonna be anything to do with tape
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: because he's he might be the best receiver in the
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: class just off the, tape so it's obviously injury. RELATED
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: i would say my favorite player in the draft is
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: Probably Dylan dynaman, honestly BUT i need slash where he's gonna.
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: Go it doesn't add.
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: Up, oh if we're just going favorite player, Overall Caleb, downs, Easy, yeah, yeah.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: EASY i Love Caleb. Downs that, dude he's gonna be a. Stud.
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: YEAH i really Like dynaman for The patriots at thirty.
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: One it's tougher because he just don't know who's gonna
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: be there at thirty. One well that's Why i'm, like you,
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: Know Chris brazil is probably my favorite player in the draft,
- 1:09:46Speaker 3: period But i'm not saying that that is necessarily for THIRTY,
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: us But brazil just, overall so.
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: There's like a pound for pound. Thing, like, AGAIN i
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: really like GAY. BACKUS i can fully understand within saying
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: that they shouldn't take him at thirty. One, yeah but
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: like there's a world we're all more excited about Gay
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: bacchus at sixty three or if they trade up in
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: like the fifties THAN i am about whoever they take
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: a thirty one BECAUSE i hate the thirty one, pick
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: but like that's just gonna be, like, oh it's great,
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: values good, player he, fits blah blah. Whatever you, know
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: same thing With, delp that kind of.
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: Thing so after my my cul strange meltdown on The
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: Old show a couple of years, AGO i tried to
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: like play it cool when The patriots draft, somebody even
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: if it's SOMEBODY i really really. Like, obviously when they
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: last two years they've been picking super. High but my
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: very first year covering the draft with the, team they
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: Picked gonzo AND i Loved, god he was my number one.
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: PLAYER i was swooning over him all draft. SEASON i
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: just kept, saying there's no way he's going to be.
- 1:10:42Speaker 3: There there's no way he's going to be. There AND
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: i tried to play it cool because that was one
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: year after The strange. Meltdown if they Draft, BRAZZLE i
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: might not be able to keep.
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: It they had there's a clip of Me Felgrin maz
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: played it when they draft A. GONZALES i did not
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: contain my excite. Y. Yeah, yeah that was that was
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: post thing post like twenty yeah. Twelve that was Probably
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: bill's best pick in a. DECADE i, Mean drake may.
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: PICK i think me AND i was on The Joe,
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: MURRAY i think we just did like a big to.
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: ME i don't know what to.
- 1:11:14Speaker 8: Say no that the, server that's already. Impressive strange from you.
- 1:11:21Speaker 8: Guy we don't need to do this WITH i don't
- 1:11:24Speaker 8: need to do.
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: This just play uh? ANYWAY i.
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: See but you could even hear my voice trying to
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: play it cool As i'm like saying it.
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: Just.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: Slowly video sells it because you have like the cheap
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: at home podcast set up and it looks like you're being.
- 1:11:39Speaker 3: INTERROGATED i was being interrogated By Bill. Belichick oh, man uh,
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: no The gonza pick was. Fun now that you that
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: peaked up about? You, yeah you knew all, RIGHT dj
- 1:11:51Speaker 3: is In North. Carolina what's, up dj?
- 1:11:54Speaker 12: OH i wanted to touch On Dinel. Boston, okay who
- 1:11:59Speaker 12: A J brown?
- 1:12:00Speaker 4: Situation? EVAN i heard you Last we said you GOT
- 1:12:03Speaker 4: ptsd From Nick Kia harry About Dinzel. Boston but With Dinzel,
- 1:12:11Speaker 4: BOSTON i think people don't give him credit for his
- 1:12:14Speaker 4: smooth route running and his size and his place. SPEED
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: i know he didn't run at, forty but the play
- 1:12:20Speaker 4: speed is on.
- 1:12:21Speaker 12: Tape you can see he's he was a part returner
- 1:12:24Speaker 12: For washington at. Times and his place strength and body
- 1:12:29Speaker 12: control and. EFFORT i Know verbe would love, that and
- 1:12:32Speaker 12: some of the best receivers in the game got all
- 1:12:34Speaker 12: three of. Those SO i MEAN i Love. BOSTON i
- 1:12:37Speaker 12: WOULD i would love if they take him at thirty.
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: One, sure, yeah djon, LISTEN i Liked boston more THAN
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: i THOUGHT i was going. To, Yeah and the only
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: reasons WHY i don't Like boston is BECAUSE i swear
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: off that type of receiver long.
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: AGO i keep trying with the skinny speed. Guy last.
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: YEAR i would not do Keon. COLEMAN i would not
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: take key On coleman series is that last, year two years,
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: ago two years?
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: AGO i, see BUT i couldn't do, it. DON'T i
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: just want to put Don't coleman's not the comp For.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: Boston coleman is the comp For malecki fields LIKE i just.
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: But they're all in a similar mold AND i could
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: not do. It The Denzel, boston, though you said it
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: that you were surprised how MUCH i liked. HIM i.
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: WAS i liked him a lot more THAN i THOUGHT
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: i was going. TO i think the number one thing
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: THAT i liked about him the most was obviously that
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: he's not just a contested catch, catcher BECAUSE i think
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: that gives him a bad rap for always being. Covered
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: he's a hands, Catcher like this is a guy THAT
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: i don't THINK i ever saw a single pass go
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: into his body when he caught the. Football that skill
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: IS i would say one, underrated but two really plays
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: in the, league like really plays in THE. Nfl all
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: the best receivers in the, league for the most, part
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: are are hands, catchers are guys that catch the ball
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: away from their. Frame so that that was a really good,
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: trade AND i agree with the. COLLEGE i think he's
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: still in that big BODY x. Mold but for a
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: big BODY, x he's a little bit more fluid than
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: A Nikhil harry a Key On.
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: Coleman he reminds me a little bit Of. Teed, yeah
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: AND i, mean obviously he's not at the same. Level
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: he's not quite as. Big he's not Like i'll ask you,
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: again though we did this last, WEEK i might have
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: to ask this every. Week you see where you're at
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: thirty one between a Receiver Denzel boston And Chris browse
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: of who you taking go back and forth on this every.
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: Day that's where are you at? Today Denzel?
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: Boston? TODAY i told you this is recency?
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: Today why?
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: WHY I i think that the caller raises good points
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: about the fluidity within his. ROUTES i think he's a
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: little bit more fluid than the typical bust in that.
- 1:14:46Speaker 3: Mold probably not. HE i think the difference between him
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: and like a guy Like ted is after the, catch,
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: Right ted is extremely explosive after the. CATCH i also
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: can't really get the zone coverage metro out of my
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: head With Denzel. Boston they weren't great in terms of
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: like yards per route.
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: Run you, said you're Take. Boston you're in Take, Boston
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: and now you're giving a bunch of.
- 1:15:07Speaker 3: Reasons, ye BECAUSE i guess because this IS. I this
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: is the NOT i swore off this type of. RECEIVER
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: i told you, THAT i told myself THAT i would
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: not get geeked up about this type of receiver. AGAIN
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: i said that.
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: Because still taking him Over brasel at thirty. ONE i, guess, so,
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: yeah because you know what it is next week and
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: then we gotta move, on BECAUSE i want to get
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: into our roster reset you want it, Is alex is
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: THAT i didn't have enough conviction in myself back in
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: twenty nineteen to Tell Bill belichick that he made the
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: wrong draft.
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: Pick LIKE i was like still too new to this
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: and TOO i was too, raw, Right LIKE i just
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: couldn't do. That BUT i knew that there was something
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: weird About Nikhil harry and how the way that he
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: moved and that he was, heavy and you, know the
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: caller mentioned punt. Returning Nikhil harry had a was it
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: a punter kickoff At Arizona state where he like reversed
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: field on one where he like ran Oh i'm under
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: the first field and went all the way up the
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: sideline for like a ninety plus yard uh kicker punt.
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: RETURN i can't. Remember it was a kicker of, Punt
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: and at the, TIME i was, like, oh, wow that's.
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: Amazing but then if you go back and watch, it
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: you see how slow he's moving as he's trying to reverse,
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: field and you recognize, like, oh, yeah that's not going
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: to play in THE, Nfl like he's not going to
- 1:16:19Speaker 3: be able to do that in the. LEAGUE i just.
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: WASN'T i.
- 1:16:22Speaker 13: WAS i.
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: WAS i was a wee young. LAD i wasn't like
- 1:16:25Speaker 3: convicted enough to be, like, No Bill belichick is wrong
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: for taking this. Guy NOW i feel LIKE i, Overcorrected
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: like Now i'm, LIKE i can't do it with these
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: types of.
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: RECEIVERS i just but you're still taking him at thirty
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: one over. Breads, YEAH i, Am, yeah, WHY i mean
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: asking him.
- 1:16:39Speaker 3: WHY i think he's a little BIT i think he's
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: stronger Than brasil. Yep AND i think he's probably a
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: little bit of a better route runner just in terms
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: of the routes he's being asked to. Run BUT i
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: think that mostly it's that that play strain the, hands
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: like you know that sort of. Thing brasl is all separation,
- 1:16:59Speaker 3: Right like he's got. Speed he's got really good sinking
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: cut for the guy his size and a guy at his,
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: height and he's just got he's got, speed he's got, burners,
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: Right so like he's the guy that's gonna get.
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: Open he sound like you want to Take brazzle thirty.
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: One of COURSE i.
- 1:17:12Speaker 3: Do he's my favorite player in the.
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: Draft, okay so then you're Taking brazzle thirty. ONE i don't.
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: Know you're just trying to answer both so that you're not. Cornered, yes,
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: speaking they'll say it with some. Conviction No brazzle Or
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: boston at thirty. ONE i mean some, Conviction. Brasele there we.
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: Go it's not enough. Conviction we?
- 1:17:29Speaker 4: Do that was not?
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: Conviction are we doing Recency buyers? Series?
- 1:17:32Speaker 4: Do we?
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: Said, OKAY i got a safety for. You Watch safety
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: this other. NIGHT i know everybody's all geeked up out Of.
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: Miami he's more of like a nickel than a true.
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: Safety Keane scott ran like in the four twos at
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: the pro day the other. Day, Yes i'm gonna talk
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: about the Other miami, Safety Jacoby thomas, yeah you like this.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: Guy i'm doing some research on To Kobe. Thomas and,
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: look this isn't the be all end all of a player's,
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: makeup but this caught my. Attention there's a video of
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: him before one of The bowl games last year talking
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: about how much which he loves hitting, people and he
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: calls the physical part of the game a lost art
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: and says that he'll just he knows if he keeps hitting,
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: somebody di'll eventually fold and he'll play that. Game and
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: if you go and you watch on, tape there are
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: games where the wide receivers are visibly afraid of him
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: on the. Field it happened With Carnell. Tate you can
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: See Carnell taate goes to run a, slant Sees Jacoby
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: thomas's waiting for him and pulls. Up But Jacoby thomas
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: is not just a big. Hitter he can play on
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: the back. End he can lurk tremendous on ball. Production
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: six pass, breakups five. Interceptions last, year you got his
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: hands on the football eleven times playing. Deep he does
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: that because he's really good. Instincts, now he's overly aggressive
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: SOMETIMES i think he trusts his instincts too much sometimes
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: and that leads to some blown assignments and some. Mistackles
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: his miss tackle rate is definitely higher than what you
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: want from a, safety and that's why he's a projected
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: fifth round. Pick but if you can kind of coach
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: that out of him and hone his instincts a little,
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: bit he is a missile flying around out, there whether
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: it be in, coverage whether it be making plays with
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: line of scrimmage against the, run or like you watch
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: him blow up screens at one, point it's what's the?
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: Word did we've associated with this defense more than anything
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: else that they keep using violent? Violence he is, VIOLENT
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: i mean the mentality and you look a little more his.
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: Background he looks up To Sean. Taylor he talked To
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: Ray lewis before games like he's got and he if
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: you go watch the, injury he's not all excited talking about.
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: This he's just sitting there Like i'll hit people till
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: they don't want to be hit, Anymore like it's just
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: ingrained in. THEM i love that the mentality is, there
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: playmaking abilities. There, yeah he's got a hone of skills
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: a little. Bit he's probably a third safety for his
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: first year or two will he figures that. OUT i
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: don't think's somebody that can play eighty ninety percent of
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: the time right, away but they don't need him to
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: do that right. Away they need a safety, really a
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: guy that's more of a long term option can be
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: a depth player right. AWAY i really Liked Kobe. Thomas
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: he's a ton of fun and it's my whole. THING
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: i wanted them to had playmakers on. Defense he's more
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: of a playmaker than he is a safe. Player But
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: i'm okay with. That and the violent element is just it.
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: Again if you go on to watch there's one play
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: it's On twitter where here it is right. Here Carnel
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: tait is like visibly afraid of.
- 1:20:13Speaker 3: Him SO i want to hear some of the THINGS
- 1:20:15Speaker 3: i wrote down about. Him, Sure so this is in
- 1:20:18Speaker 3: my pros category and my, spreadsheet Which i'm hoping by
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: at least like a week before the DRAFT i can
- 1:20:24Speaker 3: share with.
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: Everybody Dane Brugler's beast has coming Out april. Eight that's
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: what you gotta.
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: Beat, YEAH i don't know If i'm going to beat. It,
- 1:20:29Speaker 3: HONESTLY i have like a lot of offensive lineman to
- 1:20:32Speaker 3: watch over the next couple of. Days like twenty, probably
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: BUT i wrote, downhill, urgent, violent. Striker yeah. Right so
- 1:20:43Speaker 3: those are just some of the buzzwords or keywords THAT
- 1:20:45Speaker 3: i have in. HERE i think WHAT i like a
- 1:20:46Speaker 3: lot about him. TOO i don't know if he's a
- 1:20:49Speaker 3: deep part of the field, Player LIKE i don't know
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: if he's like a true free safety or a guy
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: that's going to be able to play over the. Top
- 1:20:55Speaker 3: but he's really good in like short, zones whether they're, yeah,
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: robbers hook. Curls, obviously like when you play the hook,
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: zone which is the middle of the field zone as
- 1:21:04Speaker 3: a safety or a, linebacker you carry a lot of
- 1:21:08Speaker 3: verticals from the other side of the formation because when
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: they have an earn three by, one it becomes like
- 1:21:12Speaker 3: almost a match with the third receiver on the three receiver.
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: Side so like if that guy runs like a crosser
- 1:21:19Speaker 3: or something like, that then it's that person's job to
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: carry that player. VERTICAL i think he can do all
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: those types of. THINGS i think he can play. ROBBER
- 1:21:26Speaker 3: i think he can play down in the. BOX i
- 1:21:28Speaker 3: think that he wants to play down in the, Box
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: like when he's up, top he fills and it gets
- 1:21:33Speaker 3: his hat in the box against the run extremely. QUICKLY
- 1:21:35Speaker 3: i just think he's a little bit stiff slash not
- 1:21:39Speaker 3: doesn't necessarily have that sideline to sideline range to play
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: him in the deep part of the. Field but if
- 1:21:44Speaker 3: you play him, correctly if you put him in the right,
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: role he's going to be a really good player in the.
- 1:21:48Speaker 3: League like there's no doubt to be The. Patriots and,
- 1:21:51Speaker 3: YEAH i think that he's more complimentary To Craig woodson
- 1:21:57Speaker 3: And Kevin byern as a third safety than he is
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: a true starter in their system because they want their
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: guys to cover so well down the. Field but he
- 1:22:05Speaker 3: could be somebody that, is you, know a really good
- 1:22:09Speaker 3: box nickels safety for them for a really long time
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: and then maybe they just find somebody else to play
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: With woodson in the deep part of the.
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: Field, yeah that's kind of my. Idea is he kind
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: of sort of becomes a matchup.
- 1:22:19Speaker 3: Player, Yeah, okay You Keon crawford From, auburn the pass
- 1:22:24Speaker 3: rusher From.
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: Auburn this, guy uh so the Other auburn. Guy we're
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: talking about the other.
- 1:22:29Speaker 3: Guy Because i'm not the Biggest Keldrick falk. Guy i'm
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: not gonna.
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: LIE i don't know if it's BECAUSE i haven't watched
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: him BECAUSE i don't think he's gonna fall to him
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: OR i didn't like WHAT i. Saw, YEAH i can't
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: get excited about him.
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: STIFF i don't like guys that are super stiff unless
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: you're gonna play them as like a true hand in
- 1:22:42Speaker 3: the dirt end like The patriots used to, do and
- 1:22:45Speaker 3: they're you, know like in a three FOUR I i
- 1:22:48Speaker 3: just don't love. HIM i don't love him outside the.
- 1:22:50Speaker 3: Tackle crawford is just that guy's explosiveness is like an
- 1:22:56Speaker 3: All capitol, letters, right like just off the, ball great
- 1:22:59Speaker 3: bad and inside out with pure. Speed so like you
- 1:23:03Speaker 3: have to set him inside. Out he's gonna win around
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: the corner if you over said to him, outside he's
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: gonna win. Inside he's just got, speed, speed, speed great.
- 1:23:11Speaker 3: BEND i think there's some love for him with The
- 1:23:13Speaker 3: patriots as. WELL i think that There's he's one of
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: those guys THAT i kind of came to a little
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: bit later in this edge class because there's so many
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: of these players AND i was, like why isn't this
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: guy in this like you, know third round cluster with
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: all these other you know. Dudes, yeah he should be At. Auburn,
- 1:23:33Speaker 3: hey they call it the buck roll At, auburn and
- 1:23:37Speaker 3: it's a very labor intensive. Role like there's a lot
- 1:23:41Speaker 3: you have to. Cover you have to be able to,
- 1:23:43Speaker 3: drop you have to be able to rush off the,
- 1:23:44Speaker 3: edge you have to be able to stop the. Run
- 1:23:46Speaker 3: you play a lot of overhang on the strong, side
- 1:23:48Speaker 3: so you're forcing runs back to the, inside but you're
- 1:23:51Speaker 3: also you, know having to rush the passer and drop into.
- 1:23:54Speaker 3: Coverage it's, probably you, know one of their more complex
- 1:23:57Speaker 3: roles on their. Defense and he played it last year
- 1:23:59Speaker 3: and played it at a pretty high. Level so he can,
- 1:24:02Speaker 3: cover he can drop off the line of scrimmage and,
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: coverage he can play a little bit further out in.
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: Space but the most important thing is that speed and
- 1:24:09Speaker 3: bend off the. Edge AND i don't know If i'm
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: going to be right about, this BUT i think that
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: they're gonna want guys with peer speed off the. Edge
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: LIKE i think that that's going to, be you, know
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: The Harold injury, model, Right AND i think that that's
- 1:24:22Speaker 3: going to be the mold that they go. Towards AND
- 1:24:24Speaker 3: i Think crawford AND i know there's a lot of
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: love for like Mile Kay lawrence, Too like you know
- 1:24:29Speaker 3: those types of, Guys lawrence is probably like top, fifty
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: maybe even. Higher, yeah and then you Know crawford's kind
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: of like the day to guy in that sort of.
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: Mold the other one THAT i had quickly on the
- 1:24:41Speaker 3: recency bias. List we were talking about this before the.
- 1:24:43Speaker 3: Show Marlin client From, michigan the tight End german. Born
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: so that would be good for us because we that's
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: a home market for. Us but most importantly With Marlin
- 1:24:52Speaker 3: client for six to one in the forty yard, dash
- 1:24:55Speaker 3: a really good speed to run the, seam really good on.
- 1:24:59Speaker 3: CROSSING i know it Was New, mexico So i'm gonna
- 1:25:01Speaker 3: put that caveat on. It but he had a really
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: strong performance against them in the opener last year For,
- 1:25:07Speaker 3: michigan WHERE i think he had almost one hundred receiving
- 1:25:09Speaker 3: yards in the. Game it was just kind of EVERYWHERE i.
- 1:25:12Speaker 3: THINK i you, know his blocking technique is pass catching
- 1:25:15Speaker 3: all that needs some work because he's, raw he's new
- 1:25:17Speaker 3: to the, sport but he gives great effort in the run.
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: Game he's got, toughness he's got, physicality he's got straight line.
- 1:25:25Speaker 3: Speed he just is a ball of clay right. Now
- 1:25:27Speaker 3: that needs some.
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: Molding, yeah a ton of awesome. Tools six, six two
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: fifty ran the four to six one like you talked
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: about thirty six ins. Vertical you just got to learn the. Game,
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: yeah got to learn the. Game came into it. Late
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: but if you're gonna take a flyer on A day
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: three tight end like he can be coached, Up there's
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: there's a lot there to work. With there aren't going
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: to be many things physically he can't. Do it's just
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: about getting his technique to the point where he's able
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: to do. Him BUT i like. Him i'm with. YOU
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: i wouldn't be mad if they took. Him, okay let's
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: do this reset on.
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: Defense it's. OKAY i didn't expect this to take as
- 1:25:57Speaker 3: long as on this as the. Offense this is not as,
- 1:25:58Speaker 3: exciting all, RIGHT i like, defense BUT i. Understand.
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: Uh and then what we're doing the special teams reset
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: a good.
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: Question next?
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: Week we actually need to do. That there's relevance. There
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: punter is the only relevant kick.
- 1:26:11Speaker 3: Returner, okay, fine but like, returners like you're gonna draft
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: that player to play something. Else the second is going
- 1:26:17Speaker 3: to be you, Watch, yeah you want To browns to
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: play returner just to Return barry On.
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: Brown maybe it was a little bit to tap into
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: was a. Receiver, okay all, Right, adam let's go through
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: this strengthens the case for other.
- 1:26:29Speaker 3: Plays we got thirty minutes to go through, this so
- 1:26:31Speaker 3: let's do. It let's start with, edge biggest need on the,
- 1:26:35Speaker 3: BOARD i think for The, PATRIOTS i think you can
- 1:26:37Speaker 3: make that case pretty. Easily Draymont, Jones Harold, Landry Elijah,
- 1:26:42Speaker 3: Pronder Brandon, Swinton Jesse, lukeda And Amari, gaynor who is
- 1:26:46Speaker 3: At North carolina With drake is still on the roster as.
- 1:26:49Speaker 3: WELL i think the two questions THAT i have with
- 1:26:52Speaker 3: itedge right now for The. Patriots number, one what is
- 1:26:56Speaker 3: their type of edge look? LIKE i just said. THAT
- 1:26:59Speaker 3: I i think it's going to be the speed two
- 1:27:01Speaker 3: fifty two fifty five kind of. GUY i don't anticipate,
- 1:27:05Speaker 3: it you, KNOW i know that there's a lot of
- 1:27:06Speaker 3: mocks out. There Kendrick, Falk Zion, young you know some
- 1:27:10Speaker 3: of these bigger edge rushers that you know are to
- 1:27:13Speaker 3: sixty five. PLUS i don't think that's gonna be their.
- 1:27:16Speaker 7: Thing.
- 1:27:16Speaker 3: Now they did just Sign, jones who's to sixty to
- 1:27:18Speaker 3: sixty five BUT i feel like if they're gonna draft,
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: SOMEBODY i Think Carold landry's kind of like their, archetype,
- 1:27:26Speaker 3: right that's their dream sort Of mold is a guy Like.
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: Landry but what do you? Think are you with me
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: on that or do you think that it's?
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: DIFFERENT i, MEAN i think it's tough because we're just
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: one year in and on one, hand we have one
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: year to go off, Of like these are the kind
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: of players they, want but they do so much last.
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: Year it's was is there another archetype With landry they
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: want to have in their defense that they couldn't ad last?
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: Year and do they want to add somebody who's going
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: to be more sturdy against the run on the edge
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: that they just didn't have a chance to. Add but,
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: no if they're trying to upgrade the pass, rush it's
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: gonna be players Like Carol. Landry maybe a little bit
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: bigger to help alleviate some of those, THINGS i, guess
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: but they are ant to have like two hundred and
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: eighty pound you, know hand in the dirt. Guys so
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: tried that With Kean.
- 1:28:04Speaker 3: White did not work?
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: Right, No So i'm with you on that second facilitation
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: question on the, edge.
- 1:28:12Speaker 3: Who are going to be the better options relative to the, board,
- 1:28:15Speaker 3: right it's the whole value of the board, thing the
- 1:28:17Speaker 3: edges at thirty one or the edges at sixty.
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: FIVE i think there's a real case at sixty, three
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: especially if you move, up like if you talk about the,
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: fifties they're just probably gonna miss that second. Run but,
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: Again lawrence Akis moore From, MICHIGAN i don't think the
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: drop off is that significant versus the drop off the
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: drop off at tackles. MASSIVE i, mean, like if you
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: don't take the tackle thirty, one you're probably waiting till ninety.
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: Five at that. POINT i don't think there really is
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: anybody at sixty. Three you know, what. Receiver it's definitely
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: a significant drop off from thirty one to sixty, three absolutely.
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: So but there is a drop. Off and if they
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: want to get a lynch pin edge rusher LIKE i
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: like some of those guys one day, two but they're
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: there is a, Difference, yep there is a. Difference, Sure
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: so that's kind of the big question to. Me it's
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: also like do they double?
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: Up?
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: Right if you're gonna double, up maybe say, okay we're
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: gonna go second round and third, round so we use
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: our first round pick on something up if you're gonna
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: but maybe it's first round and like fourth round or fifth, round,
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: right that kind of. Thing so they can approach it
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: a number of different, ways but they definitely need at
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: least one, guy maybe. TWO i think they can get
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: by with one. Too your feeling really. Good some of
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: that is like where do you think that With Braiden?
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: Swinton do you think they're gonna really keep working On
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: Braiden swinton and developing.
- 1:29:31Speaker 3: HIM i look at it that they probably will draft, one,
- 1:29:34Speaker 3: yeah because they Have jones And, landry and THEN i
- 1:29:37Speaker 3: think you have to really Like.
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: Ponder, No ponder to, me like he's gonna make the
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: team and he's he's don.
- 1:29:44Speaker 3: And like if you don't have hopes For, ponder and
- 1:29:47Speaker 3: then the question for me to want to leave a
- 1:29:49Speaker 3: door a jar For Braden swinton to step, Through, well
- 1:29:52Speaker 3: that's Where i'm at if they're gonna double, up, Right,
- 1:29:54Speaker 3: Yeah Braiden swinston was a fifth round pick last. Year
- 1:29:56Speaker 3: it's kind of the same.
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: Thing if you have conviction that somebody's better Than Braiden,
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: swinton you take. Him but that means like you're willing
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: to move. On you're you, Know Braiden swinson wasn't one and,
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: done and maybe that's how they. Feel maybe they got
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: him in here last year and, okay you, know we
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: saw what there, is but we feel like we need
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: some more to work, with and like that could certainly be.
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: SOMETHING i don't love the idea of using a fifth
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: round pick on another project player when, like if he's
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: just gonna give you a Braidon swinton's, giving you just
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: work With Braiden, swinton draft somebody a draft different, position,
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: Right SO.
- 1:30:26Speaker 3: I, think to, ME i actually like the options at
- 1:30:30Speaker 3: sixty three a little bit, better not off of, talent.
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: But who's your guy in that?
- 1:30:34Speaker 3: RANGE i really Like, Yeah akus. TOO i really Like
- 1:30:37Speaker 3: Derek moore a lot as. Well i'm now in On.
- 1:30:40Speaker 3: CRAWFORD i don't. Know sixty three is a little might
- 1:30:42Speaker 3: be a little bit, high but you don't know if
- 1:30:44Speaker 3: you're gonna get him at.
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: Night, no the sixty three, guys to, ME i don't
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: Think lawrence in that. Range lawrence is a trade back
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: in the FIRST i don't even know what you're trading
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: off for. Him, yeah to, me sixty three Is acus More.
- 1:30:52Speaker 3: SUTTON i am a little bit interested to see where
- 1:30:54Speaker 3: Our Mason thomas ends up falling to do you think
- 1:30:57Speaker 3: they're gonna be in On? THOMAS i don't. Know he
- 1:30:59Speaker 3: he hasn't had a great pre draft. Process i'm not
- 1:31:02Speaker 3: saying anything to do with off the field or anything like,
- 1:31:04Speaker 3: that but he didn't test. Great he kind of was
- 1:31:08Speaker 3: a little bit stiffer through some of the field work
- 1:31:10Speaker 3: at the. Combine uh it wasn't this uh pure athlete
- 1:31:15Speaker 3: that shows up on tape with the hustle and the
- 1:31:17Speaker 3: motor that shows up on. FILM i thought that the
- 1:31:19Speaker 3: movement's skills were a little. Underwhelming uh so maybe that
- 1:31:23Speaker 3: falls a little. Bit BUT i don't know if all
- 1:31:26Speaker 3: the way to sixty. Three but if you're asking me like,
- 1:31:28Speaker 3: what because it's always a you, know we do this
- 1:31:31Speaker 3: all the, time it's the.
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: Right thomas Akis Moore, Sutton, Thomas, wait, sorry say that,
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: Again Thomas Akis Moore. Sutton that's the worder they are
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: on the big.
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: BOARD i would probably Go thomas akus. More so your
- 1:31:42Speaker 3: consensus of, YEAH i probably would Go akis.
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: More Thomas.
- 1:31:47Speaker 3: SUTTON i could be convinced that to Flip actus And, thomas.
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: He's just He, again it. Goes Maybe i'm reading too into,
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: it but they keep saying the word he's so. Violent,
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: yeah he's you can see the wrestling. Back the motor
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: doesn't stop and he's trying to run through people on every.
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: Play and you kind of the little bit here about
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: him off that he's the same way to wait, room
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: he's the same way to. Film like the guy just doesn't,
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: stop like he just he's always trying to get. Better
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: he's always working through the, challenge pushing the next. Thing
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: that just feels like they're kind of. Guy so at
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: thirty one at, Receiver, yeah you're looking at and this
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: is hopefully looking at, Right Denzel, Boston Casey, Concepsio Omar Cooper.
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: JR i don't think all three of them are. THERE
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: i don't think none of them three are going to be.
- 1:32:33Speaker 3: There i'm just talking about the drop, offs, Right so
- 1:32:36Speaker 3: that group kind of you, know let's just leave it
- 1:32:38Speaker 3: at that for. Now maybe they're as high on brassehole
- 1:32:41Speaker 3: AS i. AM i DON'T i don't.
- 1:32:42Speaker 4: Know.
- 1:32:42Speaker 3: Yeah, uh then at tackle it's two, guys, right It's
- 1:32:46Speaker 3: miller and then.
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: And then you're going right down in ninety five and
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: then absolute there is no so what are the odds
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: you think they Think tiernan Or drunker can play.
- 1:32:55Speaker 3: TACKLE i would say that it's probably more likely they
- 1:33:00Speaker 3: Think tiernan can play tackle because he's so Much he's a.
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: Bet if we're gonna have this conversation that Would drunker
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: is just so.
- 1:33:07Speaker 3: CLUNKY i JUST i can't see him being able to
- 1:33:10Speaker 3: move well enough to.
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: So in, theory if there is a tackle for them sixty,
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: three it would Be.
- 1:33:15Speaker 3: Tiernan, yeah they could be The Indianapolis colts who have
- 1:33:17Speaker 3: two tackles with a sub thirty three inch arms starting for,
- 1:33:20Speaker 3: THEM i, think, Right raymond And Brandon. SMITH i don't
- 1:33:23Speaker 3: know If smith's still. There raymonds, DEFINITELY i don't.
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: Know but the, point just if we're gonna have the, conversation,
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: like that's the drop, Off so the drop of it
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: tackle we can accept drops off a. Cliff, yeah a
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: wide receiver from The Boston Cooper casey. Concept you're gonna
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: have to Draft brazzle because he's not making it to sixty,
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: Three so you're gonna have to draft them somewhere in.
- 1:33:46Speaker 3: There Chris bell to The Skylar, bells The Ted, hurst
- 1:33:51Speaker 3: you know Those Bryce. Lance that's a pretty SIGNIFICANT i
- 1:33:55Speaker 3: think that's a much bigger drop off. Too, yes absolutely
- 1:33:59Speaker 3: so THAT i think is really part of that conversation as.
- 1:34:01Speaker 3: Well going on to defensive, tackle here into your Guys Milton,
- 1:34:06Speaker 3: Williams christian Barmoer Corey dirt And Joshua, Farmer Leonard, Taylor
- 1:34:10Speaker 3: Jeremiah farms And Eric gregory.
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: Still on the.
- 1:34:13Speaker 3: Roster good room obviously when you Have Milton Christian, barmore
- 1:34:18Speaker 3: it's a good. Room Corey dirt And i'm excited ABOUT
- 1:34:21Speaker 3: i think they found to somebody With dirten AND i
- 1:34:23Speaker 3: Think Joshua farmer deserves some. More you, Know leash.
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: Would Say Leonard williams. TOO i Want Leonard williams to
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: get a SHOT lt three on this list as.
- 1:34:33Speaker 3: Well the one the one QUESTION i have with The
- 1:34:37Speaker 3: detackle group is Replacing tonga and do they need to
- 1:34:41Speaker 3: Replace tonga With? Tonga like do they need a so.
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: This is this IS i would like to see them
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: at a true nose tackle and it's a great tackle.
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: Club it doesn't have to be a big. Investment But
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: evan Big citrus justify for. Me, please how DO i
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: make this? Argument i'm. TRYING i, can't but he's such
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: a fun. Player and he's so. Good how do they justify?
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: That how does? It can they Take Dominice gorrange at sixty? Three,
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: no they could take him at ninety.
- 1:35:06Speaker 3: Five he's not gonna be.
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: There at ninety.
- 1:35:08Speaker 3: FIVE i don't. Know if YOU i don't, know he's
- 1:35:09Speaker 3: not gonna Be, no if.
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: You want the guy in ninety. Five there's two GUYS
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: i like, There Darnell jackson From Florida, state but he's
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: not even really a nose tackle like he's listed at
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: three twenty he carries three.
- 1:35:19Speaker 3: Twenty, YEAH i think he was. Limber he actually laid
- 1:35:21Speaker 3: waiting at three fifteen at the.
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: Time AND i like, him but he's not got like
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: thirty five inch, arms, Right he's all, limbs like he's
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: not the, size like he's not that.
- 1:35:30Speaker 3: Wide.
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: Yeah the other one is another one of my favorite,
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: nicknames just happens to be the Godfa.
- 1:35:35Speaker 3: Godfather we're going to go there six foot three.
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: Forty, NOW i do wonder And i'll be interested to
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: see when we get the beast and when we get
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: The bob McGinn's stuff with the blood cuts, right because if,
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: so he had some blood clot. Issues it's kept him
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: off field twenty. Four, yeah The patriots have dealt with
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: that twice in the last ten years here With David
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: andrews And Christian. Barbell so, well, yeah you, know they
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: might look at that and, say, hey it's a situation
- 1:35:59Speaker 1: that's more manageable us because we know what to look.
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: For they may also look at it and, say we've
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: been dealing with, this we don't want to deal with it.
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: Again but like, now he's just a run. Stopper, yes,
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: again six foot three, forty he's an old school two,
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: gapper but a spoiler. ALERT i took The godfather and
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: my mock draft where ninety SIX i took. Him, LATER
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: i took him at a one thirty. One maybe because
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: a little bit, off but not.
- 1:36:21Speaker 3: BAD i think the blood clots are going to be anythink,
- 1:36:23Speaker 3: okay not BECAUSE i think that there's STILL i just
- 1:36:25Speaker 3: medically see something teams look. At he's going to have
- 1:36:28Speaker 3: a medical flag for some. Teams, yeah he is only
- 1:36:31Speaker 3: a run player like, you or he's not offering you
- 1:36:33Speaker 3: anything as a.
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: Passer so good at it, though he's very very good at.
- 1:36:37Speaker 3: It but just off the history of the.
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: Draft, no he is the kind of guy that traditionally
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: falls that is fair if you're only going to play first,
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: down goal, line short yarded.
- 1:36:47Speaker 3: Situations and this would be the one little THING i
- 1:36:50Speaker 3: would say About Big citrus THAT i think that he
- 1:36:52Speaker 3: could fall to ninety. Five he's those guys are situational
- 1:36:55Speaker 3: players in the. League you don't Think citrus has a
- 1:36:58Speaker 3: little bit of.
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: That LIKE i think he has a little bitest kind
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: of tong, though like that little bit of where you're
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: playing in the intermediate. Downs and he's not going to be.
- 1:37:06Speaker 3: Out of, place, absolutely BUT i don't think that that's
- 1:37:08Speaker 3: that's still what a forty five.
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: Player here's the, city the way tongs market kind of
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: exploding free. Agency how many teams are looking for his copycat?
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: League they just made The, supergame but let me forgot
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: how their Counter, okay in this. Draft, yeah there's a
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: lot of these guys at the top. Too that Is
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: kaden McDonald Lee hunter, thinks you know those types of.
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: Players so only so many teams are going to be
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: in the market for nose, tackle so that it goes
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: from here to. Here then now there are situational, players
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: it goes to, here and now he has a blood
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: clot history goes to, there, Right so like.
- 1:37:42Speaker 3: There's only going to be a.
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: HINT i thought were talking about either.
- 1:37:45Speaker 3: ONE i Think orange doesn't have the, medicals BUT i
- 1:37:48Speaker 3: don't think he GETS i don't think he gets ninety.
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: Five he gets to ninety, Five i'm gonna upset that
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: in trade up for. HIM i think there are just.
- 1:37:53Speaker 3: Are situations where these types of, guys because of the
- 1:37:56Speaker 3: style of player that they are, there there's gonna be
- 1:37:59Speaker 3: ninety teams are going to look at At Big citrus
- 1:38:02Speaker 3: and The godfather as we're not playing these guys on third.
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: Day would you would you Take Dominic gornge in ninety
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: five for The? Patriots, yeah i'd would you like trade
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: up for him in like the? Eighties? Now, no even
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: if it's, small one of those six round?
- 1:38:15Speaker 3: Picks, okay, fine, okay if you if you're, Gonna i'm
- 1:38:17Speaker 3: all for getting rid of the six round. Pick, yeah
- 1:38:20Speaker 3: you know, That i'll tell trade all four of.
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: THEM i just wonder if they're gonna just keep trying
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: to add these like small athletic defensive tackles Like Zane
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: durant And Cayden proctor And Caleb. Hilip proctor is a
- 1:38:32Speaker 1: hell of a. Player that guy is awesome he's getting
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: because of small. SCHOOL i see him getting some Like
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: milton william, comps yeah uh.
- 1:38:39Speaker 3: He it tracks LIKE i. DIDN'T i Thought Zane durant
- 1:38:43Speaker 3: was a little bit. UNDERWHELMING i can see. It like
- 1:38:45Speaker 3: obviously with the athleticism and all that, Stuff.
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: Caleb proctor. Deserves he like a sneaky top one hundred pick, Easily,
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: okay a big.
- 1:38:55Speaker 3: BOARDER i think he's way higher in real. LIFE i,
- 1:38:57Speaker 3: mean that guy can really rush the.
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: PASSER i Want Dominic. GORAN i want them to a nose.
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: TACKLE i Want Dominic. Quorn that's probably not gonna. Happen
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: if they Took Dante corleone with one of those fourth round.
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: PICKS i think a lot of people would be annoyed by.
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: It i'd be okay with.
- 1:39:09Speaker 7: It.
- 1:39:09Speaker 3: Yeah so Like Timmy keenan From alabama's, like that's another
- 1:39:12Speaker 3: one if you want to draft, him and maybe.
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: He's a real true nose. Tackle doesn't.
- 1:39:17Speaker 3: Move it's like four hundred. POUNDS i don't think he
- 1:39:19Speaker 3: will weighed in on, that but like looking at, HIM
- 1:39:22Speaker 3: i think he. Was he weighed in at three twenty,
- 1:39:23Speaker 3: seven BUT i think he's.
- 1:39:24Speaker 1: Bigger he doesn't, move but you're not moving Him orange
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: waiting at three forty and he moves like. That CAN
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: i CAN i get a little? Nuts oh, god is
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: there a little tens tiny Bit vince Will.
- 1:39:36Speaker 3: FORK i thought you were gonna save you To.
- 1:39:37Speaker 1: Vea, no.
- 1:39:41Speaker 13: You're.
- 1:39:41Speaker 1: Not, like if he maxes, out you're. Nuts if he maxes,
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: out you're.
- 1:39:44Speaker 3: Nuts but Even, vince like you, know talking about the
- 1:39:47Speaker 3: nose tackles, Falling vince fell because he was a.
- 1:39:49Speaker 1: Nose tackle that's. True that was twenty years. Ago, yeah they.
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: Fall who's your comp For Dominic? CORAN i don't.
- 1:39:57Speaker 3: Know that's a good.
- 1:39:58Speaker 1: One as What i'm, saying there's not many guys like,
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: that so it's hard to camp. Them they don't want
- 1:40:02Speaker 1: to Use.
- 1:40:02Speaker 3: Vca he's Not veya, like he's, not but that that's
- 1:40:08Speaker 3: the type of, Player, like there's not that many guys.
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: That that's What i'm. Saying it's hard to. Do it's
- 1:40:11Speaker 1: three hundred and forty pounds and he's moving like. That,
- 1:40:14Speaker 1: yeah well he was four hundred something in high.
- 1:40:16Speaker 3: SCHOOL i believe. It it's big freaking. Dude and he's short,
- 1:40:19Speaker 3: too so he's kind of like just wide and. Stubby
- 1:40:22Speaker 3: he's just he's a big, guy.
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: But that's how that's how you get these big guys
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: that can move because they you, know he was four
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: hundred high, school so you know he's playing at three,
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: forty playing at sixty pounds, later lighter than he used,
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: to so naturally he's gonna like feel quicker on his,
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: feet all.
- 1:40:35Speaker 3: Right inside, Linebackers, Yeah, Splaine Ellis, Mapu Chad, muma kJ,
- 1:40:43Speaker 3: Britt Otis. REES i would assume that kJ britt is
- 1:40:48Speaker 3: here to take some of the special team snaps That
- 1:40:50Speaker 3: zbi And gibbons left, behind so they kind of replaced
- 1:40:54Speaker 3: maybe the kicking game production from those guys with. Him,
- 1:40:57Speaker 3: OBVIOUSLY i think it's KIND i don't even know if
- 1:41:01Speaker 3: sneaky's the right word.
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: Anymore this is kind of a. Need it's it's the
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: same as tight. End, yeah you probably want to get
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: a second guy next To, spelane ideally a coverage, player
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: but it's are you drafting somebody with a lower ceiling
- 1:41:14Speaker 1: who maybe you're trying to highlight certain abilities or traits
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: and just get the second, guy or is it this
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: guy's going to start off as the second guy and
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: then eventually take over For. Splaine but that's a bigger.
- 1:41:25Speaker 1: Investment so just to put names to.
- 1:41:27Speaker 3: It, Right so who's Your My my facilitation question was
- 1:41:30Speaker 3: just who's your favorite in the?
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: Draft, yes your Favorite Jez, well your favorite linebacker for The,
- 1:41:36Speaker 1: patriots and the draft of Jakergez, okay BUT i think
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: it's too high for the. Draft jacob Bred i wouldn't
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: be the most surprised person in the world if they
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: took him at Thirty who would surprise you? More kaden
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: McDonald Or Jacob rodriguez at thirty? One kate and McDonald, yeah, Correct,
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: yeah you know if we go a little. Later so
- 1:41:53Speaker 1: the thing is, like if you Draft Jacob, driguez he's
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: here to eventually replace, splay, yes whereas you Know Kyle,
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: Lewis Harold, perkins different, Players Eric gentry FROM Usc Lander
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: barton From. Utah these are pure coverage players that are
- 1:42:09Speaker 1: gonna fill a. Role but you, know When splaine gets
- 1:42:12Speaker 1: a little in his contracts, up, LIKE i don't think
- 1:42:13Speaker 1: we're gonna look at them and be, like, okay like
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: you have the next guy in the. Building, Sure SO i.
- 1:42:18Speaker 3: Think that's the Biggest it's just like tight. End like you,
- 1:42:20Speaker 3: said that's the hardest part and it's kind of, ACTUALLY
- 1:42:23Speaker 3: i would say a lot like safety. Too are you
- 1:42:25Speaker 3: drafting as a complimentary player to what you currently? Have
- 1:42:28Speaker 3: are you drafting to replace what you currently? Have and
- 1:42:31Speaker 3: those two THINGS i think are.
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: Even replaced fill the, pipeline BECAUSE i don't think you're
- 1:42:35Speaker 1: drafting somebody to like that's a nicer way to. Right
- 1:42:37Speaker 1: you're not going to compete With Robert splaine this, year
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: With Hunter henry this, Year so.
- 1:42:41Speaker 3: If you are drafting strictly to punish the pipeline and
- 1:42:47Speaker 3: just also taking into account where.
- 1:42:50Speaker 1: RIGHT i, MEAN rvel Reason sunny styles are, LIKE i
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: don't think do you buy The Isaiah simmons comps for
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: R vel? Rees.
- 1:42:58Speaker 3: NO i think he's a better pass rusher THAN i ever.
- 1:43:00Speaker 7: Was.
- 1:43:01Speaker 3: Uh Jacob rodriguez And Jack olday are both really fun.
- 1:43:06Speaker 3: Players they're gonna go too, High AND i Put Anthony
- 1:43:08Speaker 3: hill in that category as. WELL I i AND I
- 1:43:12Speaker 3: i PUT.
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: Cj allen's gonna go top. Twenty you think he's gonna
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: go that high or top twenty, Five he's not gonna
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: go where they. Can he's gonna be off the board
- 1:43:17Speaker 1: at thirty.
- 1:43:17Speaker 3: ONE i kind of liked To Anthony hill better some
- 1:43:22Speaker 3: of the, stuff and Then hill makes a lot more.
- 1:43:23Speaker 1: Plays some of the stuff that's come out About allen
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: has really convinced, Me like do you know he was
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: calling the plays for The georgia. DEFENSE i tell, that
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: but like there were, Times, ayea teams are gonna. Draw
- 1:43:32Speaker 1: there were times.
- 1:43:33Speaker 3: WHEN i was watching him, though AND i actually watched.
- 1:43:35Speaker 3: Him he's one of the guys before the combine THAT
- 1:43:37Speaker 3: i had, studied AND i watched, him AND i was, like, wait,
- 1:43:40Speaker 3: like who's who AM i supposed to be? Watching like
- 1:43:43Speaker 3: he doesn't make a lot of, plays but then when
- 1:43:45Speaker 3: you start to watch him over the course of, Tapes,
- 1:43:47Speaker 3: yeah he makes a lot of the dirty. Plays like
- 1:43:50Speaker 3: he's a lot of these like, oh he filled that
- 1:43:53Speaker 3: gap which forced the running back to bounce to this,
- 1:43:55Speaker 3: gap and then this guy made the tackle right, right
- 1:43:58Speaker 3: that sort of.
- 1:43:59Speaker 1: Thing WHEREAS I Anthony hill is like a playmaking. Linebacker
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: so like he's around the. Bus, Say allen's like the
- 1:44:04Speaker 1: twentieth overall pick on the consensus mock right, NOW i
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: think the dirty work between the ear. Stuff he's an,
- 1:44:10Speaker 1: incredibly incredibly smart. Player he's a coaches, linebacker like some
- 1:44:15Speaker 1: coach is going to go to THE gm and be,
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: like this is the. Guy i'm gonna, like put my
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: fist on the, table this is the. Guy SO i
- 1:44:21Speaker 1: really Like.
- 1:44:22Speaker 3: Rodriguez and is it Gold Day Gold Gold? GOLD i think,
- 1:44:25Speaker 3: Yeah BUT i think. Both it's tough to find a
- 1:44:28Speaker 3: spot to draft those, Guys LIKE i Think dirty one
- 1:44:30Speaker 3: is really.
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: High but if they move back a little, BIT i
- 1:44:32Speaker 1: guess if they move, BACK i don't think either one
- 1:44:34Speaker 1: of them is going to be there still at sixty. Three, no,
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: YEAH i don't think they're gonna be in within move
- 1:44:38Speaker 1: up range at sixty. Three maybe Gold.
- 1:44:40Speaker 3: Day so then you get into like The lewises and
- 1:44:43Speaker 3: The perkinses or different kinds of, players you. Know i'd
- 1:44:45Speaker 3: also put like Kayleab limbs or sort of in.
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: THAT a lot of people like barm Uh So barim.
- 1:44:50Speaker 3: To me is a pass rusher though, okay like he's
- 1:44:53Speaker 3: an on the ball, Linebacker like he's a stand up
- 1:44:55Speaker 3: three four outside. Linebacker the two guys THAT i really like,
- 1:44:59Speaker 3: though if you want to re finished the pipeline For Robert,
- 1:45:01Speaker 3: Splaine Aiden fisher and is a, Butcher Bryce butcher From.
- 1:45:06Speaker 3: Oregon he's like a, safety isn't he he's a. Linebacker
- 1:45:08Speaker 3: he played safety at the beginning of his uh college
- 1:45:11Speaker 3: career At. Oregon he's playing. Linebacker now if you're just
- 1:45:14Speaker 3: do you think he's a potential starting, linebacker and, YEAH i. Do,
- 1:45:17Speaker 3: okay if you now for these guys are probably fourth round, picks,
- 1:45:21Speaker 3: right so first Said. Fisher, Yeah Aiden fisher From indiana
- 1:45:24Speaker 3: is really intriguing to me if you're strictly trying to
- 1:45:26Speaker 3: draft to be the Next Robert. Spuline, like if you
- 1:45:30Speaker 3: Draft Aiden fisher this year and you Attach Aiden fisher
- 1:45:34Speaker 3: To Robert spulaine's, hip, yeah for the next. YEAR i
- 1:45:37Speaker 3: think by twenty, eight twenty, seven even, Possibly Aiden fisher
- 1:45:41Speaker 3: is ready to be the. Mic ok you, KNOW i
- 1:45:43Speaker 3: think he can wear the green. DOT i think he
- 1:45:44Speaker 3: did that at For. Indiana uh AND i thought that
- 1:45:48Speaker 3: he moved a lot better than some of the knocks
- 1:45:50Speaker 3: on him. Suggests like some people think he's a terrible.
- 1:45:52Speaker 3: ATHLETE i think he's a fine enough athlete to play,
- 1:45:54Speaker 3: Linebacker mike linebacker. Specifically so those are the guys THAT
- 1:45:58Speaker 3: i would look at if like you're really trying to
- 1:46:01Speaker 3: do what you were trying to do at tight end
- 1:46:04Speaker 3: and right tackle and kind of what.
- 1:46:05Speaker 1: If you're just trying to find a coverage, linebacker and,
- 1:46:08Speaker 1: hey this guy's gonna kind of be an upgrade Over
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: Christian Ellis and that's that.
- 1:46:11Speaker 3: Probably, Perkins, okay BUT i Like Kyle lewis.
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: Too, YEAH i mean you got To takekylo's top one.
- 1:46:16Speaker 1: Hundred how About Justin. JEFFERSON i haven't watched him. Yet,
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: okay that's that's, DEEP i. Know but his Name's Justin,
- 1:46:23Speaker 1: Jefferson and that's, like you're, all is there a prospect you've?
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: Studied like he's like one one on your all time
- 1:46:28Speaker 1: big board since you've been doing this.
- 1:46:29Speaker 3: Right, Probably AND i never understood Why Justin jefferson. Was
- 1:46:35Speaker 3: was he like twenty two overall in that draft?
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: Somewhere LIKE i was like A bigs. Pick this makes no. Sense,
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: well you got Another Justin jefferson to, watch all.
- 1:46:43Speaker 3: Right Corners Christian, Zales Carlton, Davis Marcus, Jones Chucky, Trees Charles,
- 1:46:49Speaker 3: Woods Kendo, Vidor Kobe, Minor Brendan. Crossley AND i put
- 1:46:53Speaker 3: this guy last BECAUSE i feel like he's a forgotten.
- 1:46:55Speaker 3: Soul marcella's, dial who was having a nice training camp last,
- 1:46:59Speaker 3: year blew at his knee. RIGHT i, mean he's a.
- 1:47:02Speaker 1: Core special teams player for.
- 1:47:03Speaker 3: Them in twenty it was like competing for snaps at,
- 1:47:06Speaker 3: corner you, know Behind Marcus jones And davis And. Gonzo
- 1:47:11Speaker 3: he's still in the.
- 1:47:11Speaker 1: Mix to, me he's still in the mix me.
- 1:47:12Speaker 3: TOO i put him in bold BECAUSE i wanted to
- 1:47:15Speaker 3: make sure THAT i don't forget About marcella's, Dial LIKE
- 1:47:18Speaker 3: i Think marcell's dial could contribute to this. Team question facilitation,
- 1:47:23Speaker 3: question how sneaky of a need is or isn't, cornerback
- 1:47:27Speaker 3: BECAUSE i feel like this is the one that we
- 1:47:29Speaker 3: get a lot of, calls we get a lot of,
- 1:47:30Speaker 3: emails sneaky, needs sneaky? Need is it a sneaky?
- 1:47:33Speaker 1: Need so when everybody was, saying like two months, ago
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: you know what's a sneaky, need tight end and it
- 1:47:37Speaker 1: wasn't sneaky because everybody was saying, IT i kept saying
- 1:47:39Speaker 1: it was Corner, Yeah AND i think it's Become and
- 1:47:42Speaker 1: here's the. Thing on the, surface it's not a. Need
- 1:47:45Speaker 1: you still Have Christian, Zalez Carlton, Davis Marcus. Jones that's
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: a really good group that's coming, back but especially on the,
- 1:47:54Speaker 1: Boundary like to your, point dial can play the slot
- 1:47:58Speaker 1: and he's probably gonna be here on special. Teams you
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: have depth. THERE i wasn't crazy About Craig woods last.
- 1:48:04Speaker 3: Year he was.
- 1:48:04Speaker 1: Fine Charles. Woods, sorry, CLEARLY i think you can do
- 1:48:08Speaker 1: better as a third boundary, corner which kind of is
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: an important, role Especially Carlton davis's injury. History but the
- 1:48:13Speaker 1: bigger picture thing, is assuming they Pay Christian, Gonzalez Carlton
- 1:48:17Speaker 1: davis is going into the final year of guaranteed money
- 1:48:19Speaker 1: on his. Contract are they going to pay two boundary
- 1:48:22Speaker 1: corners big money With Marcus jones also on a contract
- 1:48:25Speaker 1: like a real. Contract? Yeah or is that a Spot
- 1:48:28Speaker 1: they're gonna have your mark for somebody on a rookie.
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: Deal and by the, way for everybody, saying, well that's
- 1:48:32Speaker 1: assuming the pagansals they don't Pay. Gonzalz it's a billion
- 1:48:35Speaker 1: percent of. Need it probably comes their biggest. Need so
- 1:48:38Speaker 1: you're gonna odds are they're gonna need a starting boundary
- 1:48:41Speaker 1: corner in twenty? Seven, yes this is a A you,
- 1:48:44Speaker 1: know if you can get that guy this year and
- 1:48:47Speaker 1: he is that third backup boundary now learns and then
- 1:48:51Speaker 1: you just slott him into the spot next. Year that
- 1:48:53Speaker 1: prevents you from being backed into a corner where you
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: have to take a corner higher than you want in
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: next year's, offseason whether it's payingbody would probably be in the, draft.
- 1:49:01Speaker 1: Whatever SO i hear what your center is a big
- 1:49:03Speaker 1: time need for.
- 1:49:04Speaker 3: ME i agree with you. Wholeheartedly.
- 1:49:06Speaker 1: Yeah, however just to Play devil's, advocate you want to
- 1:49:11Speaker 1: do this at right, tackle, yeah you want to do
- 1:49:13Speaker 1: this at tight end.
- 1:49:14Speaker 3: YEAH i think you want to do this at linebacker.
- 1:49:16Speaker 3: Yep and then you probably want to do this at corner,
- 1:49:19Speaker 3: okay and at safety so and at. Safety so that's five,
- 1:49:23Speaker 3: positions AND i know that they have five picks within
- 1:49:26Speaker 3: the first four. Rounds you could theoretically do it where
- 1:49:30Speaker 3: you're drafting a, tackle tight, end, linebacker, safety, Corner, yeah
- 1:49:35Speaker 3: and say that you did, it but that doesn't mean
- 1:49:36Speaker 3: you did it so, right all? Right IF i had
- 1:49:38Speaker 3: a rank those, yes right tackles obviously number one first and.
- 1:49:43Speaker 1: Foremost, Yeah i'd probably be between tight end and corner for.
- 1:49:49Speaker 1: Second safety and not is worried. About and part of
- 1:49:51Speaker 1: that is this. CLASS i think you get a safety.
- 1:49:53Speaker 1: LATER i think there's generally good safeties in the. Draft
- 1:49:55Speaker 1: college is doing a pretty good job of putting them. Out,
- 1:49:58Speaker 1: yeah and then what was the fifth one linebacker? Off,
- 1:50:02Speaker 1: NO i, said, oh, YEAH i Think Chris nell is
- 1:50:05Speaker 1: a fine. PLAYER i actually don't kJ brick can maybe.
- 1:50:08Speaker 1: Play you can be at least good for the depth.
- 1:50:10Speaker 1: There and, look it's not to say ideally you would
- 1:50:13Speaker 1: have no needs going in an. Offseason you could just
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: have your, pick but like they're gonna have one or
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: two needs next. Year that's gonna be every. Year so
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: what would you rather be a need, linebacker, corner? CORNER
- 1:50:24Speaker 1: i think that the issue THAT i would rather have
- 1:50:26Speaker 1: corner left.
- 1:50:26Speaker 3: UNFILLED i would rather, well they're not gonna have it
- 1:50:30Speaker 3: unfilled Because gonza's not going, anywhere, okay But davis might.
- 1:50:35Speaker 3: Be but now you're you're looking to acquire at number
- 1:50:37Speaker 3: two corner when you have a top three four corner
- 1:50:40Speaker 3: in the game on the other.
- 1:50:42Speaker 1: Side, YEAH i JUST i think that it's very difficult
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: to check all of those boxes WHERE i there's this
- 1:50:51Speaker 1: this draft that we're gonna get to it At saint a,
- 1:50:53Speaker 1: second it's a pipeline. Draft, YEAH i also kind of feel,
- 1:50:56Speaker 1: better maybe this is some of. It what do you
- 1:50:59Speaker 1: feel better about a rookie corner or a rookie, linebacker
- 1:51:03Speaker 1: like having to play a somewhat significant role. ROOKIE i don't.
- 1:51:07Speaker 3: Know it depends on who gets, hurt like it Is
- 1:51:09Speaker 3: gonzo GETTING i don't get good about it.
- 1:51:11Speaker 1: Anything for twenty, Seven like you're either your number two
- 1:51:14Speaker 1: quals AM i drafting the corner in the first, round probably.
- 1:51:18Speaker 3: Because whoever like slips through the cracks here this year
- 1:51:20Speaker 3: is going to be a top pick next. Year, Right
- 1:51:22Speaker 3: so like if you.
- 1:51:23Speaker 1: Don't draft a corner this, year that project Projects this
- 1:51:27Speaker 1: is What i'm, saying, right.
- 1:51:28Speaker 3: You, know you Know i'm not talking about drafting a
- 1:51:30Speaker 3: corner in the sixth or seventh. Round i'm talking, well next,
- 1:51:32Speaker 3: year you'd have to take one, high, Right but that
- 1:51:34Speaker 3: but you're going to have to take somebody, high.
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: RIGHT I i would rather take a shot on a
- 1:51:39Speaker 1: corner this, Year but.
- 1:51:40Speaker 3: You also are taking somebody high next year off of
- 1:51:43Speaker 3: the assumption that you were officially moving on From Carlton,
- 1:51:46Speaker 3: davis which you might be. Doing, yeah but if he
- 1:51:48Speaker 3: has a good year and he stays, healthy then you
- 1:51:50Speaker 3: might not need to do.
- 1:51:51Speaker 1: THAT i guess that's. True that's. True SO i just
- 1:51:53Speaker 1: look at.
- 1:51:54Speaker 3: Corner as a place where they. Have they have decent
- 1:51:57Speaker 3: depth as it, is AND i obviously have really good
- 1:51:59Speaker 3: top end talent that as it, is AND i think
- 1:52:01Speaker 3: that that's Why i'm willing to.
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: Like i'd still like to see them improve the third boundary,
- 1:52:05Speaker 1: guy and you can do that On day three guys
- 1:52:07Speaker 1: Like massis Or deming's Or dixon Or.
- 1:52:09Speaker 3: Marshall but, right, OKAY i just think that there's gonna
- 1:52:12Speaker 3: be one position at least that slips through the cracks this.
- 1:52:16Speaker 3: Year you can't do it, All And i'd much rather
- 1:52:20Speaker 3: worry about corner down the, line especially when you have
- 1:52:23Speaker 3: a trio that's as good as you currently.
- 1:52:25Speaker 1: Have i'd rather worry about. LINEBACKERS i just think they're
- 1:52:28Speaker 1: easier to.
- 1:52:28Speaker 3: Get MAYBE i just like the linebackers a little.
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: BIT i liked, well SO i was going to say that.
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: TOO i kind of like something, like, AGAIN I Dyalen
- 1:52:35Speaker 1: everett would be so cool, here that would be such
- 1:52:38Speaker 1: a good. Fit YET i can play except apparently against
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: the receivers we.
- 1:52:42Speaker 3: Like oh so like against the good, players, uh the
- 1:52:45Speaker 3: fair the last one, Safety, Yeah Kevin, Bayer Craig, Woodson Dell,
- 1:52:51Speaker 3: Pettis Mike, Brown John Saunders Brandon schooler if you want
- 1:52:55Speaker 3: to put him in. Here, this to me is the
- 1:52:57Speaker 3: biggest question of the entire, draft outside to The Aj
- 1:53:00Speaker 3: brown of it. All for The, patriots are you drafting
- 1:53:04Speaker 3: safety for an immediate contributor or are you drafting safety
- 1:53:08Speaker 3: for future? Starter fits the profile of their? SAFETY i
- 1:53:12Speaker 3: wrote it in, parentheses immediate, contributor you, know big, nickel,
- 1:53:16Speaker 3: Right like you're drafting a guy to be the big
- 1:53:18Speaker 3: nickel box safety that's complimentary To Kevin byard And Craig.
- 1:53:22Speaker 3: Woodson or are you drafting a guy that's going to
- 1:53:24Speaker 3: start next To Craig woodson Once buyered is ages?
- 1:53:28Speaker 13: Out?
- 1:53:28Speaker 1: Yeah, see this is the one for, me AND i
- 1:53:30Speaker 1: like the safety class where and some of it is
- 1:53:34Speaker 1: like they're this if you're just drafting a third AND
- 1:53:37Speaker 1: i want them to do more three safety. Stuff but
- 1:53:39Speaker 1: you're also gonna do a lot of three corner stuff
- 1:53:41Speaker 1: because they Like Marcus jones and he's going to be
- 1:53:42Speaker 1: on the field AND i don't know how much how
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: often you're gonna be in dying, Right so that is
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: definitely more rotational. Role so you, know you draft somebody this,
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: year if you draft them high enough to be a pipeline.
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: Player they're probably not going to play a lot this.
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: Year kind of want that out of your higher. Picks
- 1:53:56Speaker 1: this is one WHERE i would more draft the third,
- 1:53:58Speaker 1: guy kick it down the.
- 1:53:58Speaker 3: Road the other thing is there's a lot there's a
- 1:54:01Speaker 3: lot of slot nickel defenders in this, draft and some of,
- 1:54:05Speaker 3: them well.
- 1:54:06Speaker 1: See here's THE i don't think they're if they're going
- 1:54:08Speaker 1: for third, SAFETY i think they're going to target the
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: slot nickel because they Have Marcus. PHILLIS i think they're
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: going to hot when they want to go like three
- 1:54:14Speaker 1: safety to get, bigger when they want to try to
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: counter teams that have like two good pass catching tight. Ends, Right,
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: yeah that kind of. Guy so that's where you get
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: into that's the you know The Jalen killgores of the, world,
- 1:54:24Speaker 1: right you, know and you know tread And stokes From,
- 1:54:26Speaker 1: Arizona Jacoby thomas and.
- 1:54:28Speaker 3: Right but those, GUYS i feel like there's a lot
- 1:54:31Speaker 3: of that type of.
- 1:54:31Speaker 1: Play so that would but that's not a pipeline. PLAYER
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: i think we re on that.
- 1:54:34Speaker 3: Correct so this here's the other.
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: Thing and Maybe i'm nuts for saying, This i'm. NOT
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: i know he's on a one year. DEAL i know
- 1:54:40Speaker 1: he's thirty three years.
- 1:54:40Speaker 3: Old you don't Think buyer has done after.
- 1:54:42Speaker 1: That i'm not trying to Run buyered out the. Door
- 1:54:44Speaker 1: maybe he, Is, Yeah i'm not operating under the assumption
- 1:54:47Speaker 1: that he foresure. Is and IF i have to go
- 1:54:49Speaker 1: get a starting safety next, year so be.
- 1:54:51Speaker 3: IT i think it's. Tough the reason WHY i brought
- 1:54:54Speaker 3: that as the facilitation question is BECAUSE i don't know
- 1:54:56Speaker 3: if there's a lot of guys that thread the needle
- 1:54:58Speaker 3: of both of those. THINGS i think there's a lot
- 1:55:00Speaker 3: of cover safeties in this, draft and there's a lot
- 1:55:02Speaker 3: of Like nickel safeties in this, draft AND i don't
- 1:55:05Speaker 3: know if there was a guy a lot of guys
- 1:55:06Speaker 3: that do. Both Genesis smith From arizona might be the
- 1:55:09Speaker 3: only one because he's done. Both he did The nickel
- 1:55:11Speaker 3: thing in twenty four and then he did the free
- 1:55:13Speaker 3: safety thing in twenty.
- 1:55:14Speaker 1: Two real, Quick i'm gonna skip the guys that are
- 1:55:17Speaker 1: in the first. TIME i can Get, halsey which one
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: big box, Safety ramsey over the top free, safety just Said, Smith,
- 1:55:25Speaker 1: wheatley free, Safety Kilgore, Nickel clark free, Safety Thomas, Jakoba Thomas,
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: Miami box V J payne, Box Michael Taffy texas. Box
- 1:55:39Speaker 1: BUT i have, concerns probably more a special. Teamer, yeah
- 1:55:42Speaker 1: it Was Newsky draftabole Question Mark All, YEAH i didn't
- 1:55:46Speaker 1: realize how FAR i was down the bord, Here SO
- 1:55:48Speaker 1: i was kind of, wondering are any of those guys
- 1:55:50Speaker 1: Watched newski for one? Tape and this always, happens and
- 1:55:54Speaker 1: we got to wrap, up AND i KNOW i got
- 1:55:55Speaker 1: Some are any of those guys close to? Hybrid who's
- 1:55:58Speaker 1: the closest? Hybrid, YEAH i gotta be Wheatly kill Or thomas,
- 1:56:05Speaker 1: right but he's going.
- 1:56:08Speaker 3: Higher, YEAH i don't. KNOW i DON'T i don't. KNOW
- 1:56:11Speaker 3: i don't. Think. So the real quick thing THAT i
- 1:56:13Speaker 3: was going to say is, that like you, all WHEN
- 1:56:15Speaker 3: i try to go really deep at a, position you
- 1:56:16Speaker 3: get to a point where you start to, realize, like,
- 1:56:19Speaker 3: okay there's a drop off. Here i'm getting to the
- 1:56:22Speaker 3: point of the draft now WHERE i don't think these
- 1:56:24Speaker 3: guys are draftable. Anymore all, right let's get to these.
- 1:56:27Speaker 3: Phones you guys got to be. Quick we only have
- 1:56:29Speaker 3: a couple more. Minutes mark is In. Connecticut what's?
- 1:56:31Speaker 4: Up? Mark?
- 1:56:33Speaker 6: Hey, EVIN i was talking To alex off The ether
- 1:56:36Speaker 6: ABOUT A. J? Brown what is the reasoning why the
- 1:56:40Speaker 6: deal like can't happen, now but make it a Post june,
- 1:56:45Speaker 6: First you know WHAT i? Mean BECAUSE i think The
- 1:56:47Speaker 6: MIAMI tua was, released but he's a Post june, FIRST i, Believe, yeah,
- 1:56:52Speaker 6: Book so why can't they do the same thing WITH A. J,
- 1:56:56Speaker 6: Brown like put the deal in place whatever the picks,
- 1:56:58Speaker 6: are if the pixo this year or next year, year
- 1:57:00Speaker 6: but he's going to be anwing them page it and
- 1:57:03Speaker 6: it's a Post june. First i'm just curious on why
- 1:57:05Speaker 6: they just can't get it.
- 1:57:06Speaker 3: Done, yeah so you can't do, that thanks for the.
- 1:57:08Speaker 3: Call mark just by THE cba the letter of the.
- 1:57:11Speaker 3: Line you can't designate a trade Post june. Trade you
- 1:57:15Speaker 3: can do it with. CUTS i haven't gotten the. Grade
- 1:57:17Speaker 3: i've asked a lot of. PEOPLE i don't know. That
- 1:57:20Speaker 3: no one really has an.
- 1:57:21Speaker 1: Explanation it kind of has to do with like, payroll,
- 1:57:23Speaker 1: honestly because when The dolphins cut to, it they're still paying. Them, yeah,
- 1:57:29Speaker 1: right when The eagles TRADE Aj, brown they're not still paying,
- 1:57:31Speaker 1: them but.
- 1:57:32Speaker 3: They'll have dead money on their cap the same. WAY
- 1:57:34Speaker 3: i don't. KNOW i can't come up with a great
- 1:57:35Speaker 3: reason for. It but all you need to know it's
- 1:57:37Speaker 3: just the way it's. Structure it's just the way the
- 1:57:39Speaker 3: letter of the loss says you can't do.
- 1:57:40Speaker 5: That you.
- 1:57:41Speaker 3: KNOW i know this was floated By Adam schefter recently
- 1:57:43Speaker 3: and he debunked that this is happening. THERE i guess
- 1:57:47Speaker 3: you could have a, wink, wink, nudge nudge under the table, saying,
- 1:57:50Speaker 3: hey like we got a deal, right, right it's not
- 1:57:53Speaker 3: exactly above board to do. THAT i guess theoretically you
- 1:57:57Speaker 3: could do. That, also then you're going on the word
- 1:58:00Speaker 3: of the two general. Management all of.
- 1:58:01Speaker 1: A, sudden some receiver twists his. Knee first day because
- 1:58:04Speaker 1: ota start In, may some receiver twists his. Knee now
- 1:58:07Speaker 1: this other team comes in blows away your, offer, right you,
- 1:58:11Speaker 1: know everything goes up And i'm, sure, Look i'm sure
- 1:58:13Speaker 1: they've discussed it what it would look like Post june. One,
- 1:58:15Speaker 1: right that doesn't mean you can't get ahead on. It
- 1:58:17Speaker 1: but just because The eagles, say, okay you, know we
- 1:58:20Speaker 1: like your, offer we're gonna take it On june, second
- 1:58:23Speaker 1: they still have the right change of. Mind here's WHAT
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: i didn't. Know maybe you've looked this up in your.
- 1:58:27Speaker 1: Research does Post june, one mean like midnight At june,
- 1:58:30Speaker 1: one it can happen or does that mean they can't
- 1:58:32Speaker 1: do it Until june?
- 1:58:32Speaker 3: Two they can't do it Until june, two, okay because
- 1:58:35Speaker 3: he goes through the transaction wire on the first Of, june,
- 1:58:38Speaker 3: right and then they have to it has to like
- 1:58:40Speaker 3: process and then they can agree to it On june,
- 1:58:43Speaker 3: one though well he's, uh, YEAH i guess they could
- 1:58:46Speaker 3: probably agree in. Principle, yeah kind of the same way
- 1:58:49Speaker 3: that they do before the league year. Starts but the
- 1:58:51Speaker 3: trade has to be processed after the first Of.
- 1:58:53Speaker 1: June, okay like it has to go through THE who after,
- 1:58:56Speaker 1: that it won't be official Until june, second if it, happens, okay.
- 1:59:00Speaker 3: Yeah but we might find out On june, first mark
- 1:59:03Speaker 3: first at a trade has been agreed to write and.
- 1:59:06Speaker 3: Principal last call, here gotta be, Quick brad In. Ohio what's?
- 1:59:10Speaker 4: Up?
- 1:59:10Speaker 2: Brad, hey, guys how you doing? Today?
- 1:59:13Speaker 4: Good real?
- 1:59:15Speaker 2: QUICK i just wanted to to check or talk about
- 1:59:18Speaker 2: a Guard Kaylin. RUTLEDGE i think he would be a
- 1:59:21Speaker 2: steal and then the linebackers From michigan That Wink martindale coached,
- 1:59:29Speaker 2: him SO i know there was An Ernest, housman he was.
- 1:59:32Speaker 2: OUTSTANDING i don't know what happened to. Him but Then
- 1:59:35Speaker 2: Jimmy roder who was injured at the, end And Kayshaan
- 1:59:39Speaker 2: barham was injured during the. Combine SO i Think Jimmy
- 1:59:44Speaker 2: roder would be an undrafted free. Agent Max braddison the
- 1:59:48Speaker 2: fullback and instant. Play what do you guys think about?
- 1:59:51Speaker 3: That, Yeah, brad thanks for the. Call who's the first?
- 1:59:54Speaker 1: Thing Then, rutledge super physical, guard tested well at the.
- 1:59:57Speaker 1: Combine he's going to be a top seventy pick or
- 2:00:00Speaker 1: not taking a good? Player, yeah if they take, him
- 2:00:03Speaker 1: we start talking about Is mike won the? Team?
- 2:00:05Speaker 3: Yeah one of the best run blocking guards in the,
- 2:00:07Speaker 3: draft like tenacious angry finishes, blocks but has played mostly right,
- 2:00:12Speaker 3: GUARD i believe throughout his college. Career and The patriots
- 2:00:14Speaker 3: have two twenty million dollar, guards not Twenty but.
- 2:00:17Speaker 1: YEAH i don't really good player they shouldn't be taking
- 2:00:20Speaker 1: by Bar.
- 2:00:21Speaker 3: M's the new hot, name you, know he's the new
- 2:00:24Speaker 3: guy with the. DRAFT i really liked his pass rush,
- 2:00:27Speaker 3: Tape LIKE i think he's an outside linebacker in a three,
- 2:00:30Speaker 3: four you, know rushing the passer from a two point.
- 2:00:32Speaker 3: Stance he played a little bit off the. Ball he's
- 2:00:35Speaker 3: now getting this fringy you, know top. One i'm not even.
- 2:00:38Speaker 3: Fringy he's getting top one. Hundred. BUZZ i think my
- 2:00:40Speaker 3: Guy crawford From auburn's in a similar book where there's
- 2:00:43Speaker 3: JUST i Think i've watched twenty edge rushers so, far
- 2:00:46Speaker 3: And i'm still kind of not. Done ALTHOUGH i did
- 2:00:48Speaker 3: kind of fee feel LIKE i hit the. UH i
- 2:00:51Speaker 3: Watched Cayden curry From Ohio state earlier to, YEAH i
- 2:00:54Speaker 3: kind of feel LIKE i hit the. WALL i was,
- 2:00:55Speaker 3: like all, right this, guy this guy's probably he's.
- 2:00:58Speaker 1: Fine he's a day three. Piece day.
- 2:00:59Speaker 4: Three.
- 2:01:00Speaker 1: Yeah to some of the other guys you, Mentioned Max,
- 2:01:02Speaker 1: bretison really good. Fallback they Signed Reggie. Gilliam that shouldn't
- 2:01:05Speaker 1: be an. Issue, yeah and Then Ernest houseman medically retired
- 2:01:09Speaker 1: after the, season so he is not in the.
- 2:01:11Speaker 3: Draft that's too.
- 2:01:12Speaker 1: Bad all, right we'll be back next. Week The owners
- 2:01:15Speaker 1: meetings is next. Week, yeah so we'll have a GO
