- 0:35Speaker 1: let's do it. Good morning. It's Billy the Kid. Candice
- 0:38Speaker 1: Lopez is here. Producer Poo is here. All I know
- 0:41Speaker 1: is I stayed up way too late watching that game,
- 0:43Speaker 1: and I don't know why I do it.
- 0:44Speaker 5: Right.
- 0:44Speaker 2: You're good every week.
- 0:46Speaker 1: You do. I don't know why I do it to myself.
- 0:48Speaker 1: You know what? If we were some incredible team, I'd
- 0:50Speaker 1: be like, that was worth it.
- 0:51Speaker 5: Right.
- 0:52Speaker 1: We came back, and we won, and I'm so glad
- 0:54Speaker 1: I'm exhausted today. Right.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Right.
- 0:56Speaker 1: But I stayed up just to literally watch trash burn.
- 1:00Speaker 2: You watched the entire game?
- 1:01Speaker 1: Yes. Oh, really? I just love a good, it's like,
- 1:05Speaker 1: you know what? I can't stop watching now because I
- 1:07Speaker 1: like the same reason you're on the tollway. There's a
- 1:10Speaker 1: car wreck and you're going to watch it when you
- 1:12Speaker 1: go by because you're like, well, now I got to
- 1:14Speaker 1: see what this is all about.
- 1:15Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:15Speaker 2: I've waited this long. Let me see what I'm waiting for.
- 1:18Speaker 1: No, I get it.
- 1:18Speaker 2: I get it.
- 1:20Speaker 1: It is what it is. We'll talk about it during
- 1:21Speaker 1: Texas Top Stories, I'm sure.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Yeah, we will.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Or maybe we won't, because what's there to talk about?
- 1:25Speaker 2: No, we'll talk about it for sure, because I have
- 1:27Speaker 2: a theory behind what's going on with the Cowboys, and
- 1:29Speaker 2: I think this might be the most dynamic theory you've
- 1:32Speaker 2: ever heard.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Dynamic is a big, strong word. It is, yeah. From
- 1:36Speaker 1: Monday morning.
- 1:37Speaker 5: It is.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Okay, Candace, what's going on with you?
- 1:40Speaker 2: Well, I had so much fun Saturday night. We were
- 1:41Speaker 2: out at Thrillvania in Terrell. And after you guys left,
- 1:45Speaker 2: I wanted to let you know that my niece, Carly,
- 1:46Speaker 2: you know, I brought her. She was in town from
- 1:48Speaker 2: UT Tyler for the weekend. I took her into the
- 1:52Speaker 2: haunted house, one of the haunted houses. It was her
- 1:54Speaker 2: first haunted house.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 1:56Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:58Speaker 2: It was wild in there. She got trapped by the
- 2:01Speaker 2: chainsaw guy by herself. It was like a whole thing.
- 2:04Speaker 2: We were locked on arm and arm. Me, her, and
- 2:07Speaker 2: her girlfriend.
- 2:08Speaker 1: That sounds terrifying.
- 2:10Speaker 2: We were locked, you know, three of us going in.
- 2:12Speaker 2: But you can't fit three side by side through a
- 2:14Speaker 2: haunted house. So I'm like, well, I'm the oldest. I'm,
- 2:17Speaker 2: you know, the aunt here. These girls are 19. I'm like,
- 2:20Speaker 2: I'll like lead them through the haunted house, which I hate.
- 2:23Speaker 2: I've never led in a haunted house.
- 2:25Speaker 1: That one is scary.
- 2:26Speaker 2: It is the most realistic and scary, authentic haunted house.
- 2:30Speaker 2: I mean, if you're into this, you better go.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:33Speaker 2: You won't regret it. Like, I put my hood up
- 2:35Speaker 2: on my jacket and I just like ducked down and
- 2:38Speaker 2: was like leading them through. But somehow Carly got stuck
- 2:40Speaker 2: last and this chainsaw guy like trapped her. I could
- 2:43Speaker 2: hear the chainsaw going off and her screaming and I
- 2:45Speaker 2: couldn't get to her.
- 2:47Speaker 5: It was awful.
- 2:48Speaker 1: You left it.
- 2:49Speaker 2: I didn't leave her well they were walking so slow
- 2:51Speaker 2: through the haunted house i'm like no we run there's
- 2:53Speaker 2: no one in front of us i was dragging these.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Girls it was intense i mean it's like a two
- 2:59Speaker 1: level like i didn't know that scary mansion i'm like
- 3:02Speaker 1: why are we.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Going upstairs this is not good dude every scary movie
- 3:06Speaker 2: do not go upstairs hey you.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Know what shout out to thrillvania That is really real.
- 3:11Speaker 1: They're doing it right.
- 3:12Speaker 2: They are.
- 3:12Speaker 1: They're doing it right. It's definitely worth a drive. It's
- 3:14Speaker 1: in Terrell, but it's so fun. Everybody who came out
- 3:16Speaker 1: to smash pumpkins, that was a good time.
- 3:18Speaker 7: It was.
- 3:18Speaker 1: The scariest part was me and Pooh getting on that crane.
- 3:21Speaker 7: Boy.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Dang, I was scared.
- 3:24Speaker 2: I could tell.
- 3:25Speaker 1: So terrified. Because you were first. Yeah, I went first.
- 3:28Speaker 2: You were like the test guy.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Yeah, why was I the test guy?
- 3:31Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Either way, it was a good time. Producer Pooh is here.
- 3:34Speaker 1: What's up, Pooh?
- 3:35Speaker 4: I had like a mini family reunion at the State
- 3:38Speaker 4: Fair yesterday because all my cousins.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Oh, at the farm? No.
- 3:41Speaker 2: What?
- 3:44Speaker 1: Sorry, I didn't know. What does that mean? I thought
- 3:48Speaker 1: he saw the ghost.
- 3:49Speaker 8: Oh, my goodness.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Oh, there he is. Oh, my goodness. This is from Carnag, Marshall, Texas.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Everybody from my dad's side. Longview.
- 3:57Speaker 4: They came to the last day. They called me last minute.
- 4:00Speaker 4: They were like, we going to the state fair. So
- 4:02Speaker 4: shout out to Kanisha, my cousin Kanisha. She's on my
- 4:05Speaker 4: Instagram trying to photobomb, but I ate everything. We all
- 4:08Speaker 4: ate everything.
- 4:09Speaker 1: It was a good time. Yeah, I hadn't seen them since,
- 4:12Speaker 1: actually since my grandma passed. Wow. Yeah, so we all
- 4:16Speaker 1: got together and.
- 4:18Speaker 4: And what's funny is my cousin Eddie is a goat farmer.
- 4:22Speaker 1: He's goats and cows. Yeah, he has a little farm.
- 4:25Speaker 1: How did we never know that? Yeah.
- 4:27Speaker 2: There's an Eddie in your family?
- 4:28Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:29Speaker 1: There's an Eddie and a Kenesha? Yeah. How do you
- 4:31Speaker 1: know these people? I've known you for 30 years. Because
- 4:34Speaker 1: I haven't seen them. Like I said, I haven't seen
- 4:35Speaker 1: them since my grandma passed. It's not like we... I'm
- 4:37Speaker 1: so tired of his secret life.
- 4:38Speaker 5: Right.
- 4:39Speaker 1: We don't talk all the time.
- 4:40Speaker 2: My secret life.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Which is unfortunate. We need to start... you know, hanging
- 4:43Speaker 1: out more.
- 4:43Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 4:44Speaker 1: It was a good time. Goat farmer as a cousin. Yeah.
- 4:47Speaker 1: In Carnac, Texas.
- 4:48Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:48Speaker 1: That's be nice. I didn't know where that's at.
- 4:51Speaker 4: And he went to, cause Eddie went to school with
- 4:53Speaker 4: Odell Beckham's dad in.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Marshall, Texas. Oh, was that a fun fact? Yeah. He,
- 4:58Speaker 1: he always wants to brag and boast about that.
- 5:00Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 5:00Speaker 1: But Odell Beckham's dad. So how old is he then?
- 5:03Speaker 7: Dad.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Oh, do they know him?
- 5:05Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 5:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:07Speaker 1: They know Cousin Eddie. Beckham?
- 5:08Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:09Speaker 8: Oh, wow.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Of course. They know the dad.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Well, my cousin, they named their baby Beckham after him.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 5:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Look at that. Anyways, fun facts.
- 5:17Speaker 1: A couple of fun facts right there for you Monday morning.
- 5:19Speaker 1: This is too fun for me this morning.
- 5:22Speaker 5: The new Mix 102.9.
- 5:24Speaker 6: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 5:27Speaker 6: Kid in the morning.
- 5:28Speaker 5: Only on the new Mix 102.9. Bright and early.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Candice Lopez, what is going on?
- 5:33Speaker 2: Well, let's talk about it, guys. The Cowboys now 2-4
- 5:36Speaker 2: on the season after losing to Green Bay last night. 23-13.
- 5:42Speaker 2: The Cowboys went scoreless in the first half. That was
- 5:44Speaker 2: the first time they'd done that since November of 2021.
- 5:48Speaker 1: We haven't beat the Packers in 10 years. I knew
- 5:50Speaker 1: it wasn't looking good. Yeah. Especially with this team coming in.
- 5:52Speaker 1: I was like, this is going to be ugly. But
- 5:54Speaker 1: let me watch the entire thing and complain about it
- 5:56Speaker 1: the next day.
- 5:56Speaker 5: Oof.
- 5:57Speaker 2: I'm sorry you did that.
- 5:58Speaker 1: It's fine. It's whatever.
- 5:59Speaker 2: I mean, a 720 game, I'm not watching any of it.
- 6:01Speaker 2: It's just I'm making lunch. I'm trying to get ready
- 6:03Speaker 2: for bed. There's just too much going on.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. The funniest part, though, I don't know
- 6:06Speaker 1: if you want to hear this, but I think it's hysterical.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Fox 4, they do some, like, line where people can
- 6:12Speaker 1: call up and complain.
- 6:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Oh, good.
- 6:14Speaker 1: That's fun. Yeah, we need this. Anyway, so I started
- 6:17Speaker 1: listening to it, and it's cracking me up. Every complaint
- 6:20Speaker 1: is obviously about the Cowboys. Listen to this. Brian Schottenheimer,
- 6:24Speaker 1: it's time to get the boot, my man.
- 6:25Speaker 7: I am so sick and tired of Prescott. If you
- 6:31Speaker 7: don't have a defense, it's really hard to win football games.
- 6:35Speaker 1: I mean.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Is that Jerry Jones?
- 6:36Speaker 1: I think that's Jerry.
- 6:37Speaker 2: That sounds like Jerry.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Jerry's going to call me. All I know is it's
- 6:42Speaker 1: not Jerry Jones' fault.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 6:46Speaker 1: This is what I hope they heard in the locker room.
- 6:48Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:48Speaker 1: This is my favorite comment. Are you ready for this one?
- 6:51Speaker 9: Y'all got to get better.
- 6:54Speaker 2: That's a mom right there. Y'all need to do better.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Y'all need to do better. Do better. Here you go.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Finish strong with these.
- 7:00Speaker 9: Yeah, that guy who said that press guy was embarrassing,
- 7:04Speaker 9: you need to rehire him and get him Jerry Jones' job.
- 7:08Speaker 2: He's not wrong.
- 7:10Speaker 1: This might be my favorite one, though.
- 7:12Speaker 4: I've been a Cowboy fan for now 30-something years, and
- 7:15Speaker 4: I don't know why.
- 7:19Speaker 2: I just have to laugh right now.
- 7:20Speaker 7: I'm trying.
- 7:22Speaker 2: You know, here's my theory, guys. I think we are
- 7:24Speaker 2: all suffering from Dak's karma in his personal life. Because,
- 7:29Speaker 2: you know, a lot of things happen with the, you know,
- 7:31Speaker 2: the wedding that never happened, the engagement, the bachelor party. Ladies,
- 7:34Speaker 2: you know when your ex is a huge Cowboys fan
- 7:37Speaker 2: here in Dallas. Or maybe plays for the Cowboys and
- 7:40Speaker 2: they lose. You kind of feel like this. At least
- 7:43Speaker 2: he's not happy tonight.
- 7:44Speaker 1: So do you think Dax X or mother of his
- 7:48Speaker 1: children is celebrating right now?
- 7:49Speaker 2: Yes, exactly. This season is for her. It's really for
- 7:52Speaker 2: her and those two babies. Because you know how it
- 7:56Speaker 2: feels when they lose. You're like... Oh, he's mad.
- 7:58Speaker 1: She's still on Instagram, you know, like, hey, go Cowboys.
- 8:02Speaker 1: And she, you know, she seems awesome.
- 8:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:04Speaker 2: She's probably been a Cowboys fan for how long now?
- 8:07Speaker 1: A long time. Well, you know what, Candace Lopez, you
- 8:10Speaker 1: could be right, though.
- 8:11Speaker 2: That's my theory. I think we're dealing with karma and
- 8:14Speaker 2: this we're going to have to just sacrifice the entire
- 8:16Speaker 2: season for what happened between the two of them.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Come on.
- 8:19Speaker 2: I mean, we're two and four. We have plenty of time,
- 8:21Speaker 2: you know, to come back. But are we?
- 8:24Speaker 5: No, we don't.
- 8:24Speaker 1: No, we don't. Do we? The good news is the
- 8:27Speaker 1: NFC sucks. So our division sucks.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:31Speaker 1: But look, last comment.
- 8:33Speaker 7: This is the worst relationship I've been in all my life.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Guys, the Cowboys will be in Philadelphia to play the
- 8:40Speaker 2: Eagles for Monday Night Football a week from tonight. So
- 8:43Speaker 2: maybe get excited, maybe don't. It's up to you.
- 8:45Speaker 1: No. Yeah.
- 8:46Speaker 2: All right. Do we have time for anything else?
- 8:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to hear something else.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Okay, because I wanted to tell you about Sylvester Stallone
- 8:51Speaker 2: defending his decision to cast his daughter in Tulsa King.
- 8:55Speaker 2: So he's been attached to this nepo baby trend. They
- 8:58Speaker 2: were asking him about it, and he said, of course,
- 9:00Speaker 2: it's nepotism, you idiot. He says his daughter, Scarlett Rose,
- 9:05Speaker 2: you know, she plays Spencer on the show. She was
- 9:07Speaker 2: in a recurring role, but moved to a series regular
- 9:09Speaker 2: for season four, which started streaming on Friday, which tells
- 9:12Speaker 2: me he was real and saying, you know, she would
- 9:14Speaker 2: have to prove herself.
- 9:16Speaker 1: And her role is big on the show. Of course,
- 9:19Speaker 1: he's going to hire his daughter.
- 9:21Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 9:21Speaker 2: He says, you know, you're not a good parent if
- 9:23Speaker 2: you haven't performed a little nepotism. That's why we're parents.
- 9:25Speaker 2: We want the best for our kids.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Sure. But they got to be worth it. They got
- 9:28Speaker 1: to be good. You can't just hire some slob.
- 9:30Speaker 6: No, for sure.
- 9:31Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? Can we get back to
- 9:32Speaker 1: the Cowboys?
- 9:33Speaker 2: Yeah, if you want to.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Can we fire everybody? I mean, I just want to
- 9:38Speaker 1: fire everybody.
- 9:40Speaker 5: Okay, everybody?
- 9:40Speaker 1: Yeah, everybody. Waterboy. Waterboy.
- 9:44Speaker 2: No, they're hydrated.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Equipment manager, fired. Our cleats are falling off. What did
- 9:51Speaker 1: we order them from, Timu? Fire them. They're hydrated.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Don't fire the Waterboy.
- 9:57Speaker 1: No, I think that's what's going on.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Are they too hydrated?
- 10:00Speaker 5: You think?
- 10:00Speaker 1: Yes, they got water tummies.
- 10:03Speaker 2: I know. I had that.
- 10:05Speaker 1: In elementary school. Every Cowboys player has little stummy aches.
- 10:08Speaker 2: A little side stitch? That's why I can do athletics.
- 10:11Speaker 2: I get a side stitch every time.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Yeah, that could be it.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Okay.
- 10:14Speaker 1: All right.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Well, I'll keep you posted if there's any coaching updates.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Parking attendant at AT & T fired.
- 10:19Speaker 5: All right.
- 10:20Speaker 2: I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 10:23Speaker 1: We got a dirty little secret coming up. We'll do
- 10:25Speaker 1: that at 7.30. It's Mix 102.9. Ability Kid, Candice Lopez,
- 10:30Speaker 1: Producer Poo is here. By the way, we also have
- 10:32Speaker 1: more money if you want that cash cow. We got
- 10:34Speaker 1: some cash.
- 10:35Speaker 5: $ 8.
- 10:35Speaker 1: 40 first chance to win if you want $ 1, 000, Candice. Nice,
- 10:37Speaker 1: I do. Wouldn't that be nice?
- 10:39Speaker 2: I really do, yeah.
- 10:40Speaker 1: This is an expensive time of year.
- 10:41Speaker 7: It is.
- 10:41Speaker 1: You know, everything's so expensive right now. It's not the
- 10:45Speaker 1: time of the year. It's like everything is just insane.
- 10:47Speaker 1: All right, let's do it. First call of the day,
- 10:49Speaker 1: Carly Rae Jepsen. Tickets up for grabs. Who's this? My
- 10:51Speaker 1: name's Amanda. What's up, Amanda? Good morning. How are you?
- 10:54Speaker 5: Hi. Good morning.
- 10:55Speaker 1: I'm doing well.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Good. Well, guess what? You're color number one. Congratulations.
- 11:00Speaker 7: Yay.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Awesome.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Yay, Amanda. Where are you from? My daughter's going to
- 11:04Speaker 1: be so excited.
- 11:04Speaker 5: Oh, good.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Melissa.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Oh, Melissa. Okay, good. Well, you going to work right now?
- 11:09Speaker 1: What you doing?
- 11:09Speaker 2: I'm dropping off my kid at football practice.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Oh, good. Well, did you see the Cowboys last night?
- 11:14Speaker 5: No.
- 11:15Speaker 8: Good.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Oh, well, then you're having a great morning. Awesome.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Yeah, well, after the Argentina game, I just kind of stopped.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, yeah. Rio was not good. Well, hey, at
- 11:25Speaker 1: least you got these tickets. Congratulations, and thank you so
- 11:27Speaker 1: much for listening.
- 11:28Speaker 2: I appreciate it.
- 11:29Speaker 5: Thank you so much.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Y'all have a good day.
- 11:31Speaker 1: You too. Stay right there. Oh, you know, we got
- 11:32Speaker 1: to say hi to somebody, too. At Thrillvania, we had Kevin,
- 11:35Speaker 1: who was working the cherry picker.
- 11:36Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Or the big old crane, who was awesome. Thank you. Kylie,
- 11:40Speaker 1: his daughter. We got to say hi because they listen. Hi, Kylie. Yeah, hi, Kylie.
- 11:44Speaker 1: She's in the color guard at Forney High School.
- 11:45Speaker 2: That's right.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Home of the Jackrabbits. Yeah, Jackrabbits. So, Kylie, what's up? Kylie,
- 11:50Speaker 1: I think, and Mama, listen, we appreciate that.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Yeah, thanks, guys.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Your dad kept us alive.
- 11:54Speaker 2: He did.
- 11:55Speaker 1: On Saturday.
- 11:56Speaker 2: He did a good job.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Yeah, he worked that crane, and I was like, you
- 11:58Speaker 1: know what? I feel like okay in Kevin's arms.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Right.
- 12:03Speaker 7: Hands?
- 12:04Speaker 1: Hands. Wow, that sounded weird. Yeah, it did.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Arms, too.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Yeah, arms, too.
- 12:10Speaker 7: Either way.
- 12:10Speaker 1: All right, let's do a real or fake news. Either way,
- 12:12Speaker 1: they were awesome, and thank you, Kylie, for listening. Okay,
- 12:15Speaker 1: I got three stories, Candace. You got to tell me
- 12:17Speaker 1: which one is fake. Who are you playing today, or
- 12:19Speaker 1: you just want Candace to play?
- 12:20Speaker 5: Wow. Hi.
- 12:22Speaker 1: I won Hello last week. Oh, you did?
- 12:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Okay.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Once.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Good job, dude.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Good job. See if you can do it again. Tell
- 12:29Speaker 1: me the fake story. Headline number one.
- 12:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:32Speaker 1: A wedding venue wouldn't refund a family after the groom
- 12:36Speaker 1: passed away.
- 12:37Speaker 5: What?
- 12:38Speaker 1: Oh, come on. A wedding venue wouldn't refund a family
- 12:41Speaker 1: after the groom passed away. That's headline number one. Headline
- 12:44Speaker 1: number two. Restaurant announces children under 10 must pay $ 20
- 12:48Speaker 1: noise deposit before being seated.
- 12:51Speaker 7: What?
- 12:52Speaker 1: I like that. A restaurant announces children under 10 must
- 12:55Speaker 1: pay a $ 20 noise deposit before being seated. Headline number three.
- 13:01Speaker 1: A robot is under investigation for allegedly assaulting a teen.
- 13:05Speaker 1: A robot is under investigation after allegedly assaulting a teen. Okay.
- 13:12Speaker 1: You have three stories right there. You have to tell
- 13:14Speaker 1: me which one do you think is the fake story
- 13:16Speaker 1: out of the three? Kind of tough today.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Yeah, it is.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Kind of tough, Candace. You want to go first or
- 13:20Speaker 1: you want to pass it to LaPoopoo?
- 13:21Speaker 2: Oh, I think I want to go first today. Lock
- 13:24Speaker 2: me in for that noise deposit. Yeah, I have an
- 13:26Speaker 2: eight-year-old and I just can't see us having to pay $ 20.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Well, I'm not saying you would.
- 13:30Speaker 5: Okay.
- 13:31Speaker 1: But, I mean, do you think a restaurant would really
- 13:33Speaker 1: do that?
- 13:33Speaker 2: No, I don't think so.
- 13:35Speaker 1: If you're not too noisy, you get your $ 20 back.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Okay.
- 13:38Speaker 1: All right.
- 13:38Speaker 2: No, lock me in.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Lock it in. It's locked in. All right, Producer Poo,
- 13:42Speaker 1: which one do you think is the fake story?
- 13:44Speaker 4: Lock me in for that last story. A robot assaulting
- 13:46Speaker 4: a teen. I don't believe that.
- 13:47Speaker 1: You don't believe that? No, lock me in. You sure?
- 13:50Speaker 2: I feel like I've seen that happen on the internet.
- 13:52Speaker 1: You do?
- 13:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:53Speaker 1: What are you watching?
- 13:54Speaker 2: Well, just that one robot that was out of control.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, that's right. By the way, I
- 14:00Speaker 1: saw somebody do something really rude to a robot the
- 14:02Speaker 1: other day in Austin online.
- 14:04Speaker 7: Really?
- 14:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess it was.
- 14:05Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 14:05Speaker 1: They were at ACL or whatever. This guy just came
- 14:08Speaker 1: up drunk and tipped the robot over. Oh, yeah. Just
- 14:11Speaker 1: push this robot. Pushed him over.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Can they get back up?
- 14:15Speaker 1: No, it was stuck on its back and all twitching.
- 14:18Speaker 2: What are we all worried about? Just tip him over.
- 14:20Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. Either way, the guy got arrested.
- 14:23Speaker 1: And he's going to have to pay for, like, the
- 14:25Speaker 1: damage to the robot.
- 14:26Speaker 7: Wow.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Which I can tell you right now, this guy cannot afford.
- 14:29Speaker 1: His life was in shambles. Assault? Yeah. All right, let's
- 14:32Speaker 1: lock that in. Locked in. The winner today is.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Not Producer Pooh.
- 14:39Speaker 7: Candice Lopez.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Candice Lopez. Congratulations, Candice. Thanks. What a good way to
- 14:53Speaker 1: start your week, right?
- 14:54Speaker 5: Yeah, great.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Which story do you want to hear first? About the
- 14:56Speaker 1: robot that's inappropriately touching people? That's what it's doing?
- 15:00Speaker 2: Yeah, just get it over with. What happened?
- 15:02Speaker 1: So, yeah, this is a wild story. So this robot
- 15:06Speaker 1: in Germany is like, you know, on the street doing whatever,
- 15:10Speaker 1: going up to people, giving them hugs.
- 15:12Speaker 7: Okay.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Well, there was a girl who was like 16 who
- 15:16Speaker 1: allegedly this robot touched inappropriately.
- 15:18Speaker 5: Oh.
- 15:20Speaker 1: So they were like, hey, what's going on? She complained
- 15:23Speaker 1: about it. And there's a video, but it's not of,
- 15:26Speaker 1: you know, her. It's just a video of a robot
- 15:28Speaker 1: going up and hugging people.
- 15:30Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Somehow, some way, this robot they're saying got too handsy, though. Listen,
- 15:34Speaker 1: it was on the news.
- 15:35Speaker 10: Robot is at the centre of a sexual assault investigation
- 15:38Speaker 10: in Germany. The incident live streamed by two content creators
- 15:42Speaker 10: with the robot painted to look like Iron Man before
- 15:45Speaker 10: performing touching a teenage girl and making suggestive movements.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Okay.
- 15:51Speaker 1: They're like, wait, so they're going after the person who
- 15:54Speaker 1: was controlling the robot.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Because they think it was.
- 15:57Speaker 2: What are you doing?
- 15:58Speaker 7: Right.
- 15:59Speaker 1: So some pervert behind the robot?
- 16:01Speaker 2: Can't get rid of robots. We don't need them.
- 16:04Speaker 1: I'm fine if I never see a robot ever.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Right.
- 16:06Speaker 1: I don't want a robot in my life.
- 16:07Speaker 2: No, I don't want a robot making my salad or.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Whatever they're trying to do. Where are they doing that?
- 16:11Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 16:12Speaker 2: There was a place they used to have that robots
- 16:14Speaker 2: would make the salad.
- 16:15Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 16:16Speaker 1: I don't want that. And now there's a robot they
- 16:17Speaker 1: have out that they have human skin over the robot's hand.
- 16:20Speaker 6: Ew.
- 16:21Speaker 1: And it still works as a robot, but it looks
- 16:23Speaker 1: like a human hand. That's the last thing we need. Yo.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Is Pooh a robot? No, I'm not. Because sometimes I
- 16:29Speaker 1: think he needs a software update. I'll be glitching sometimes.
- 16:32Speaker 1: He's glitching. Okay, a wedding venue wouldn't refund a family
- 16:36Speaker 1: after the groom passed away.
- 16:37Speaker 8: Come on.
- 16:38Speaker 1: And this happened in Texas. Yeah, a wedding venue. I
- 16:42Speaker 1: don't know what's going on, but I guess it happened.
- 16:44Speaker 1: The couple... you know, $ 16, 000 for this wedding that was
- 16:47Speaker 1: supposed to happen. And then sadly the groom passed away.
- 16:51Speaker 1: And then the family is like, well, here's what happened.
- 16:54Speaker 1: And this place called Posey Meadows is like, yeah, sorry,
- 16:58Speaker 1: but the contract contains no clause for death. So we're
- 17:02Speaker 1: going to have to keep that money. Oh, wow. Yeah.
- 17:06Speaker 1: They told the family if there's no wedding, they could
- 17:09Speaker 1: throw another kind of party though.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Oh, At the venue?
- 17:12Speaker 1: Yeah. Come on. You know what I'd say? What? Okay, cool.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Then we're doing the funeral here.
- 17:18Speaker 5: No.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Oh.
- 17:20Speaker 2: No, we're not. And we're not paying $ 16, 000 for it.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Or, listen, there's another... Or they could get credit for
- 17:27Speaker 1: another wedding.
- 17:28Speaker 2: In the future?
- 17:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:29Speaker 2: For her next husband?
- 17:30Speaker 1: Yes. Oh, that's so rough. Oh, my God. That's what
- 17:32Speaker 1: they told her. I'm not making that one up.
- 17:34Speaker 2: That's awful.
- 17:35Speaker 1: They're literally like, well, okay, you know what, but... Okay. Okay.
- 17:39Speaker 1: But you're probably going to get married another time. Hear
- 17:41Speaker 1: me out.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I definitely want to get married here.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Yeah, can you imagine?
- 17:46Speaker 2: With all the bad memories.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Yeah, let's go ahead and do that. Just give this
- 17:49Speaker 1: person their money back.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Yeah, that's awful.
- 17:52Speaker 1: This guy. I mean, anything to escape a wedding, too.
- 17:54Speaker 1: This guy was like, you know what? Silly. What? I
- 17:59Speaker 1: got to go.
- 18:00Speaker 2: That's awful.
- 18:02Speaker 1: I'm about to head out.
- 18:03Speaker 5: Sorry.
- 18:06Speaker 1: How about them cowboys? We got a dirty little secret
- 18:10Speaker 1: at 7.30. It's Mix 102.9. I'm Billy the Kid. Candice
- 18:13Speaker 1: Lopez is here. Producer Pooh is here. It's going to
- 18:15Speaker 1: be so nice today. 80 and sunny. I know. Nice
- 18:19Speaker 1: all week. I'd actually be cool if it was a
- 18:20Speaker 1: little bit chillier.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Yeah, we don't need any more 80s.
- 18:23Speaker 1: No, I don't want to see 80 again. No. Until like,
- 18:25Speaker 1: I don't know, December. You know? I saw this and
- 18:28Speaker 1: it made me laugh because yesterday... Do you remember doing
- 18:30Speaker 1: this back in the day? If you were ever in
- 18:32Speaker 1: like a weird mood, well, at least me, I was
- 18:35Speaker 1: in a weird mood yesterday and I thought to myself,
- 18:37Speaker 1: you know what I would love to do? And then
- 18:38Speaker 1: I thought, you know what? This is something you used
- 18:40Speaker 1: to do in the 90s, maybe the early 2000s. If
- 18:44Speaker 1: you didn't want anyone to reach you, what did you do?
- 18:47Speaker 2: Didn't want to, I don't know, turn your porch light off?
- 18:50Speaker 1: No. What in the hill, Billy? Little house on the prairie? Well, yeah, right?
- 18:54Speaker 2: You didn't want people coming over, knocking on your door?
- 18:56Speaker 1: I never want that.
- 18:57Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:58Speaker 1: So, no. Okay.
- 19:00Speaker 5: No.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Turn your porch light off? No. You're going to bed.
- 19:06Speaker 1: You took your phone off the hook. Oh, my God.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Do you remember doing that? Yes. This made me laugh
- 19:11Speaker 1: so hard because I thought, if somebody, if I try
- 19:13Speaker 1: to explain that to my son, who's 15 right now,
- 19:15Speaker 1: he'd be like, what do you mean, Dad? Well, back
- 19:17Speaker 1: in the day, if you didn't want anybody to reach you,
- 19:19Speaker 1: you would just take your phone off the hook and
- 19:21Speaker 1: leave it there.
- 19:22Speaker 2: They would get a busy signal.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Yeah, and I'm not like 100 years old either. You know,
- 19:26Speaker 1: this didn't feel like that long ago.
- 19:28Speaker 7: It was.
- 19:29Speaker 1: But then I looked up a list. It was. You're right.
- 19:32Speaker 1: I looked up a list of like just unhinged things,
- 19:34Speaker 1: things that would sound unhinged now that we did in
- 19:37Speaker 1: the 90s and 2000s. Taking a road trip with a
- 19:40Speaker 1: paper map. Oh, yeah. Do you remember those days?
- 19:44Speaker 2: Yeah, we had the maps go. And then after that,
- 19:47Speaker 2: when we got a printer, um we could print the
- 19:50Speaker 2: directions off of what.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Is that that's how we got.
- 19:53Speaker 2: To all the in-sync concerts out of town that's how
- 19:56Speaker 2: we got to all the in-sync concerts yeah That is
- 20:00Speaker 2: how we do it. I've got to figure out how
- 20:01Speaker 2: to get to the Alamo Dome in San Antonio. I
- 20:03Speaker 2: don't know where that is.
- 20:05Speaker 1: You were traveling everywhere.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:07Speaker 7: Really?
- 20:07Speaker 2: For sure, yeah.
- 20:08Speaker 1: I'm surprised your parents let you leave.
- 20:10Speaker 7: What?
- 20:10Speaker 2: My parents let me do anything.
- 20:12Speaker 5: I know.
- 20:12Speaker 2: They were so just chill.
- 20:13Speaker 1: But I know you were super responsible, but you're also
- 20:16Speaker 1: kind of like, you're almost back in the day, you
- 20:18Speaker 1: were almost too innocent.
- 20:19Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 20:20Speaker 1: You were like, I don't know if I would have
- 20:21Speaker 1: let Lopez leave anywhere unsupervised.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure.
- 20:27Speaker 1: What else was unhinged in the 90s that would sound
- 20:29Speaker 1: fake today? Somebody else said kids selling school fundraiser stuff
- 20:34Speaker 1: door to door without parents. Oh, yeah.
- 20:36Speaker 2: We still have that happen in my neighborhood.
- 20:38Speaker 1: I was going to say, I still have that happen
- 20:39Speaker 1: in my neighborhood sometimes.
- 20:40Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 20:41Speaker 1: But I don't know. It doesn't really. I don't think
- 20:43Speaker 1: that sounds that unhinged. Okay. Someone else said, here's something
- 20:47Speaker 1: that sounds fake and unhinged. The phone book. Everyone's address
- 20:52Speaker 1: and entire phone number just delivered to your doorstep.
- 20:55Speaker 5: Wow.
- 20:56Speaker 2: People are so concerned about privacy now. Can you imagine that?
- 21:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. We have a whole book... About eight
- 21:05Speaker 1: inches thick with everybody's phone number.
- 21:08Speaker 2: That's insane.
- 21:09Speaker 1: And everybody's address. And you could just look it up.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Yellow pages. Yeah.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Right, because you would have to look up, like, if
- 21:15Speaker 2: your friend's at school, their parent's name or whatever.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:17Speaker 2: I don't know what her mom's name is or her dad's.
- 21:19Speaker 2: It was my dad's name probably, huh?
- 21:21Speaker 1: Probably.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Or maybe it was both.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it's usually both back in the day.
- 21:24Speaker 1: But I remember looking people up. I remember looking up
- 21:26Speaker 1: my crush. Yes. So I could prank her.
- 21:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Cause that's what you did when you were a kid. Oh, she,
- 21:32Speaker 1: she hung up. She woke up and then you hang
- 21:34Speaker 1: up real quick. What did you say? Nothing. I'm such
- 21:38Speaker 1: an idiot. Okay, here's something that sounds fake and unhinged.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Bobbing for apples at parties and carnivals.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Oh, my God. Did people really put their face.
- 21:48Speaker 1: In a nasty.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Dirty water?
- 21:52Speaker 1: You never bobbed for apples?
- 21:53Speaker 5: No.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Oh, I did. I did all the time.
- 21:55Speaker 2: But then someone else did it right after you and
- 21:57Speaker 2: put their face in it?
- 21:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:58Speaker 2: That's right.
- 21:59Speaker 1: You just dip your face in there and try to
- 22:01Speaker 1: get an apple? You'd even touch the apple with your mouth?
- 22:03Speaker 1: Why would you? You touch the apple with your mouth,
- 22:06Speaker 1: and then you miss it, so you didn't get it.
- 22:08Speaker 5: Right.
- 22:08Speaker 1: And then someone else would come over there and grab
- 22:10Speaker 1: the apple. So who knows how many mouths were on
- 22:13Speaker 1: that apple?
- 22:14Speaker 2: Why did we do that?
- 22:15Speaker 1: And we were worried about COVID. Yeah. I'd still do it. No.
- 22:20Speaker 1: We should do that right now. What a weird game.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Nothing wrong with that. Somebody else said, this is wild
- 22:26Speaker 1: to think about. The other day, I was thinking about
- 22:27Speaker 1: dialing a phone number without an area code, just seven digits. Ooh.
- 22:31Speaker 1: That is weird.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Yeah, good times.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Now, was it?
- 22:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 22:34Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Yeah, it kind of was. Okay. Someone else said, I'll
- 22:37Speaker 1: tell you what was unhinged. Now that I think about it,
- 22:39Speaker 1: I get mad that we had to go through this.
- 22:41Speaker 1: When a season ended of a TV show, not only
- 22:43Speaker 1: did you have to wait to see what happened next,
- 22:45Speaker 1: you had to wait an entire summer for every show.
- 22:49Speaker 2: That's right.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Until the next season of the show.
- 22:52Speaker 7: Right.
- 22:52Speaker 1: And there was no choice.
- 22:54Speaker 2: No.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Kids don't get that now. You get to binge everything.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Having to go to a local video store to rent
- 22:59Speaker 1: a movie. I mean, that was fun.
- 23:01Speaker 2: So fun.
- 23:01Speaker 1: It's hard to explain to people. And then this one
- 23:04Speaker 1: brought me back some serious memories. New music only came
- 23:07Speaker 1: out on Tuesdays, and you had to go to a
- 23:09Speaker 1: store and actually buy it. Yep. And it was true.
- 23:12Speaker 1: It was glorious.
- 23:13Speaker 2: It was.
- 23:13Speaker 1: It kind of was.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I'd have to stay late on Monday night at
- 23:16Speaker 2: Sam Goody to restock the new releases.
- 23:19Speaker 1: I thought you worked at Towers.
- 23:20Speaker 2: No, Sam Goody at Town East.
- 23:22Speaker 1: You did work at Town East.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Just for the holidays.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Just for the holidays. Yeah, what a vibe. Oh, I
- 23:27Speaker 1: can almost smell townies during the holidays. You know what
- 23:30Speaker 1: I'm saying? Same. Like you walk in and you immediately
- 23:32Speaker 1: smell those cinnamon nuts.
- 23:33Speaker 7: Yep.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Whatever those was, pecans. What were they? Every mall smells
- 23:37Speaker 1: the same. Oh, yeah.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Just like cinnamon, yeah, walnuts and stuff, pecans.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Sniff it. Sniff townies right now.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Oh, hot dogs.
- 23:46Speaker 6: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 23:49Speaker 6: Kid in the morning.
- 23:50Speaker 5: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 23:52Speaker 1: The one and only Candace Lopez. What is going on?
- 23:55Speaker 2: Well, early voting for the November 3rd midterm election starts
- 23:58Speaker 2: today in Texas through Friday, October 30th. So in Dallas County,
- 24:02Speaker 2: polling locations are open 7 to 7, Monday through Saturday,
- 24:05Speaker 2: and then noon to 6 on Sunday. You've got early
- 24:08Speaker 2: voting locations in Tarrant County opening at 8 this morning,
- 24:11Speaker 2: as well as Denton and Collin County. You do need
- 24:14Speaker 2: a valid ID to vote. But you're voting for a
- 24:16Speaker 2: Senate seat, the governor, the attorney general, so many other
- 24:19Speaker 2: important races. And, you know, in your school district, you
- 24:22Speaker 2: probably have some stuff you should pay attention to as well.
- 24:25Speaker 2: So big day. Guys, a new survey says Americans aren't
- 24:28Speaker 2: having as many guests over anymore. I thought this was interesting.
- 24:32Speaker 2: So they say that in 1975, 42 percent of people
- 24:37Speaker 2: said they would host friends or family at least once
- 24:39Speaker 2: a month.
- 24:41Speaker 1: I mean, cool.
- 24:41Speaker 5: Today, 12%.
- 24:42Speaker 1: That's huge.
- 24:42Speaker 2: That is. You don't like having people over. No, I
- 24:46Speaker 2: do like having people over.
- 24:47Speaker 7: You used to.
- 24:47Speaker 1: I do like having people over.
- 24:49Speaker 2: We used to go to your house all the time.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Yeah, we did. Yeah, I know. That was when I,
- 24:52Speaker 1: I don't know. It was when the Cowboys were winning.
- 24:54Speaker 1: That's when I liked people.
- 24:56Speaker 8: Okay.
- 24:57Speaker 1: No, I love people. It's just a lot to have
- 24:59Speaker 1: people over.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Well, they have some theories on why.
- 25:02Speaker 1: And it's expensive.
- 25:03Speaker 2: Exactly. It's expensive. We're too tired. Expectations are too high.
- 25:08Speaker 2: And they say we just have fewer friends than we did.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Plus the screens. Everyone just wants to stay home because
- 25:13Speaker 2: we all have. You know, our devices and stuff. But
- 25:15Speaker 2: expectations are too high when you see people throw parties
- 25:18Speaker 2: that are catered.
- 25:18Speaker 5: Oh, I know.
- 25:19Speaker 2: And you've got cute little snacks that look like, you know, Pinterest.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't want to deal with all that.
- 25:24Speaker 2: I know.
- 25:24Speaker 1: You said that was in 1975, that number? I wasn't alive.
- 25:27Speaker 7: Yes.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Well, me neither.
- 25:28Speaker 1: No, Pooh was.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Going from 42% having someone over once a month to 12%.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Who was graduating college in 1975? So I will say this.
- 25:37Speaker 1: If I were to go back in time into 1975
- 25:39Speaker 1: and I was alive, my porch light would be off.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Don't come to my house.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Your phone's off the hook.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Yes, exactly.
- 25:45Speaker 2: For sure. Guys, lots of drama around Dancing with the Stars.
- 25:50Speaker 2: So Val Shmerkovsky has been suspended from the show this
- 25:54Speaker 2: week for implying that he wanted to slap Carrie Ann Anaba,
- 25:58Speaker 2: one of the judges... So his wife, Jenna Johnson, is
- 26:02Speaker 2: also on the show. She's a dancer. And after her
- 26:04Speaker 2: dance last week, she took some pretty harsh criticism from
- 26:08Speaker 2: Carrie Ann. Well, then Val went on social media saying
- 26:11Speaker 2: you almost saw Fresh Prince enter the ballroom last night.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Oh, Will Smith.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Will Smith. Yeah, the slap heard around the world. What
- 26:22Speaker 2: a lame joke. Yeah, the implication is that he wanted
- 26:24Speaker 2: to slap Carrie Ann for her comments.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Good Lord.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Well, yeah, she wasn't amused by that. Neither was the
- 26:30Speaker 2: studio that produces the show. So they took him off
- 26:32Speaker 2: the lineup and haven't said when he's going to be back.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Oh, they suspended him?
- 26:36Speaker 2: Yeah, so the show will be on tomorrow. He won't
- 26:39Speaker 2: be there. They don't know if he's coming back next week,
- 26:41Speaker 2: but his partner on the show is Jenna Dewan. She's
- 26:44Speaker 2: actually going to now dance with Alan Burstyn, who was
- 26:46Speaker 2: eliminated in week two with Giada De Laurentiis. He did apologize,
- 26:51Speaker 2: Val did, to Carrie Ann, saying she didn't deserve to
- 26:54Speaker 2: get caught in the middle of his bad judgment and
- 26:56Speaker 2: that he hates that she ended up in that situation.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that was kind of a dumb thing to say.
- 27:03Speaker 1: I mean, it's just a show. We do have Dancing
- 27:05Speaker 1: with the Stars tickets coming up if you want to
- 27:06Speaker 1: go see them at American Airlines Center.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Yeah, that's going to be a really big tour. People
- 27:10Speaker 2: are very excited about that.
- 27:11Speaker 1: I would love to see it. I'm really surprised Jenna
- 27:13Speaker 1: Dewan didn't ask Pooh. Apparently he knows her so well. Yeah,
- 27:16Speaker 1: you could have filled in. I'm happy to step up. Well,
- 27:19Speaker 1: text her. You said you had her number. No, I
- 27:21Speaker 1: don't have that. Oh, you lost it? It's changed since
- 27:23Speaker 1: back in the day. Since the 70s?
- 27:24Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 27:27Speaker 2: All right, I'll keep you posted, though. I'm Candace Lopez.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 27:31Speaker 7: 102.9.
- 27:31Speaker 8: The new Mix 102.9.
- 27:37Speaker 1: We got Dirty Little Secret coming up next on Mix 102.9.
- 27:40Speaker 1: It's Billy the Kid, Candace Lopez, Producer Pooh, also about
- 27:42Speaker 1: to do this banger. Oh, we have Dance with the
- 27:44Speaker 1: Stars tickets, too, on the way.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Yep.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Right after Dirty Little Secret, we were talking about unhinged
- 27:48Speaker 1: things that would sound fake today that we did in
- 27:51Speaker 1: the 90s and 2000s. And was it Wes that told
- 27:54Speaker 1: us something crazy that used to happen?
- 27:55Speaker 2: Yeah, he said, remember when your tape used to get
- 27:57Speaker 2: caught in the VCR?
- 27:59Speaker 1: Oh, yes. Yes. Ruin your day. And then you have
- 28:02Speaker 1: to take it out. Cassette tapes were a pain. Yeah.
- 28:06Speaker 1: I don't know, though. CDs kind of suck, too.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Yeah, but the VCR tapes were a lot. They were huge.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Yeah, speaking of unhinged things, oh, Yolanda and Caddo Meals.
- 28:16Speaker 8: Hey.
- 28:17Speaker 1: Good morning. Straight out of Caddo. Crazy mother. Name Yolanda.
- 28:23Speaker 1: What's going on with you? Do you want to ask
- 28:25Speaker 1: Candace something?
- 28:26Speaker 2: So, I'm older than.
- 28:27Speaker 1: You guys, but we used to have to stand in
- 28:31Speaker 1: line at the Sears at County East for concert tickets
- 28:34Speaker 1: because it was the only ticket master.
- 28:36Speaker 5: Yes.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Sometimes it was Foley's.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Yes.
- 28:39Speaker 2: I have friends that I still have that I met
- 28:41Speaker 2: in line at Foley's.
- 28:42Speaker 6: Oh, my.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Yeah, 100%.
- 28:44Speaker 1: If you still keep in touch with them?
- 28:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:46Speaker 7: Wow.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Like NSYNC friends?
- 28:48Speaker 7: Yes.
- 28:48Speaker 1: I don't even have friends, much less anybody from Foley's
- 28:51Speaker 1: that I still talk to.
- 28:52Speaker 2: My friend Jennifer, she and her daughter, her daughter was
- 28:54Speaker 2: like three at the time. They were number one in line.
- 28:57Speaker 2: I was number two. And her husband ended up being
- 29:00Speaker 2: my boss at Binigan's. Yeah, we went to concerts together.
- 29:03Speaker 1: But you know what's funny is that that was also
- 29:04Speaker 1: back in the day when the scalpers didn't get all
- 29:06Speaker 1: the tickets. No, they didn't. I mean, they tried. They
- 29:09Speaker 1: tried to wait in line, but it was much easier
- 29:11Speaker 1: without the bots and stuff.
- 29:12Speaker 2: Yes, they were in front of us. Yes, exactly.
- 29:15Speaker 4: But it was fun, too, because, like, people would camp
- 29:18Speaker 4: out or, like, try to get there, like, at 5.
- 29:21Speaker 1: In the morning or something.
- 29:22Speaker 2: And then your mom would be saying, no, you know,
- 29:25Speaker 2: you can't be out there that time of night because
- 29:26Speaker 2: you're in Mesquite.
- 29:27Speaker 1: That's bad.
- 29:28Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 29:29Speaker 2: My mom let me go. I was out in the country.
- 29:32Speaker 2: I lived outside of Rowlett.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Oh, you did? It was country then. You had to
- 29:36Speaker 1: drive to the big city of Mesquite to get your tickets.
- 29:41Speaker 2: Hey, we used to.
- 29:42Speaker 5: Say we're going to town.
- 29:43Speaker 8: That's what we would say.
- 29:44Speaker 1: We're going to town. Grab the horse and buggy. We're
- 29:48Speaker 1: going into town. I love it, Yolanda. Thank you. Oh,
- 29:52Speaker 1: speaking of country. Oh, man. Yeah. So we were out
- 29:55Speaker 1: at Thrillvania way out in Terrell. That place is incredible,
- 29:58Speaker 1: by the way. Yeah. On Saturday. So thank you to
- 30:00Speaker 1: everybody who showed up. But I pretty much got threatened
- 30:03Speaker 1: by this guy. Shout out to Leonard from a skate. Yeah.
- 30:08Speaker 1: He was out there and he stopped me in like
- 30:10Speaker 1: the parking lot, which I was like, because it's a
- 30:12Speaker 1: little dark and it's, you know.
- 30:13Speaker 2: For sure.
- 30:14Speaker 1: He goes, I better tell you this much. I like
- 30:17Speaker 1: that Candace Lopez, but you and that Pooh guy, I
- 30:20Speaker 1: ain't sure about y'all.
- 30:21Speaker 7: Oh, no.
- 30:22Speaker 1: I said, why? He said, you make fun of Mesquite.
- 30:24Speaker 1: I said, I love Mesquite. I'm only saying it because
- 30:26Speaker 1: I love Mesquite.
- 30:26Speaker 2: Right.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Well, that's where I grew up, and I drive trucks.
- 30:29Speaker 1: And I was like, well, my dad was a truck driver.
- 30:31Speaker 1: He said, what kind of truck he drive?
- 30:34Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 30:34Speaker 1: I was like, I don't know. He was barely around.
- 30:36Speaker 5: Oh.
- 30:37Speaker 1: He goes, I drive a Peterbilt.
- 30:40Speaker 7: Oh.
- 30:40Speaker 1: And I said, okay. Well, he goes, tell Candace. I said, hi,
- 30:42Speaker 1: is she in there? And I said, yes. All he
- 30:44Speaker 1: asked about is you. And I said, well, listen. That's
- 30:47Speaker 1: so nice. He goes, I'd love to ask you to
- 30:49Speaker 1: play a banger, but you won't play it. And I said,
- 30:52Speaker 1: you don't know that. He goes, all right. And he
- 30:54Speaker 1: told me to play this. And he said if I played,
- 30:55Speaker 1: he might think twice and like me.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Well, play it. What is it?
- 30:58Speaker 1: I don't know. It's a little unhinged.
- 31:00Speaker 8: It is?
- 31:00Speaker 1: Candice, give me a countdown.
- 31:01Speaker 5: All right.
- 31:02Speaker 2: Three, two, one.
- 31:03Speaker 1: For Leonard and Mesquite.
- 31:07Speaker 7: Get off your chest.
- 31:09Speaker 6: It's Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid in the
- 31:11Speaker 6: Morning on Mix 102.9. Brought to you by MIMP Dentistry.
- 31:15Speaker 1: I'm Billy the Kid, Candice Lopez, producer Poole. We're ready
- 31:18Speaker 1: for a confession, a secret. By the way, dirty. I
- 31:21Speaker 1: almost said dirty with the stars. Dancing with the stars.
- 31:25Speaker 1: I don't know how dirty it is, but Dance with
- 31:27Speaker 1: the Stars tickets, I got those coming up next, so
- 31:29Speaker 1: get ready for that. They're going to be at American
- 31:30Speaker 1: Airlines Center, I think in March, so not too far away,
- 31:33Speaker 1: believe it or not. If you have a secret, 833-787-1029.
- 31:38Speaker 1: You have one. What is going on?
- 31:40Speaker 8: Yeah, I have a secret that I know is going
- 31:42Speaker 8: to make me sound like a total male Karen, but honestly,
- 31:46Speaker 8: I kind of don't even care anymore.
- 31:47Speaker 5: Okay.
- 31:51Speaker 8: I've been stealing my neighbor's Halloween decorations. I've taken a
- 31:55Speaker 8: couple of them, and he has absolutely no idea that
- 31:58Speaker 8: it's me.
- 31:58Speaker 1: You've been stealing them? Stealing his Halloween decorations? Okay.
- 32:06Speaker 8: So there's this guy in our neighborhood who goes absolutely
- 32:10Speaker 8: insane decorating his house for Halloween. And I'm not talking
- 32:14Speaker 8: about like cute pumpkins and skeletons. I'm talking straight up
- 32:19Speaker 8: R-rated like horror movie stuff.
- 32:22Speaker 5: Okay.
- 32:24Speaker 8: Yeah, he's got decorations that literally squirt fake blood, mannequin
- 32:29Speaker 8: heads scattered across his lawn, that look like they've been
- 32:32Speaker 8: cut off with chainsaws, and, like, you know, all kinds of, like,
- 32:36Speaker 8: disturbing and disgusting things. I'm all for Halloween, but this
- 32:40Speaker 8: guy takes it way too far, and my kids are
- 32:44Speaker 8: literally scared to walk to school because they have to
- 32:47Speaker 8: pass his house. I mean, it's ridiculous, like, This guy
- 32:52Speaker 8: doesn't have kids, so obviously he doesn't care. But, you know,
- 32:56Speaker 8: a lot of us do. And I feel like when
- 32:59Speaker 8: you're decorating your house for Halloween, you should have some
- 33:02Speaker 8: kind of consideration for the people who have to look
- 33:06Speaker 8: at it every day.
- 33:07Speaker 5: Yep.
- 33:08Speaker 8: Anyway.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Candace, yep, yep. So you think they're too scary.
- 33:15Speaker 8: They're way too scary. You know, like my daughter, who's
- 33:20Speaker 8: almost nine... You know, the other night she was crying
- 33:23Speaker 8: because she was scared to sleep in her own bed.
- 33:25Speaker 8: And it was because of this creepy goat head this
- 33:29Speaker 8: guy has in his yarn.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Okay, goat heads.
- 33:33Speaker 8: And it makes horrifying noises when you walk by it, right?
- 33:38Speaker 8: So I finally had enough. You know, I got her
- 33:42Speaker 8: back to sleep. I walked down the street, grabbed the
- 33:45Speaker 8: stupid goat head, and threw it in a trash can
- 33:47Speaker 8: at the park. Not even my own trash can because
- 33:50Speaker 8: I don't want them to find it.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 33:53Speaker 7: No.
- 33:54Speaker 5: Okay.
- 33:54Speaker 1: I get it. I'm not going to lie.
- 33:57Speaker 8: It felt great. It's extreme.
- 33:59Speaker 1: It's extreme.
- 34:00Speaker 2: It is extreme because then you have to deal with
- 34:02Speaker 2: the repercussions of like how you parent because your kid
- 34:04Speaker 2: is scarred by this stuff they're seeing. Just trying to
- 34:07Speaker 2: walk to school. Some of it's intense.
- 34:09Speaker 1: You're saying that's extreme. I'm saying it's extreme stealing his decorations. Yeah,
- 34:12Speaker 1: that's what I'm talking about.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Well, that's extreme too. But like, I don't condone stealing.
- 34:17Speaker 8: I've taken a couple other things too.
- 34:19Speaker 1: You have taken more. He has no idea that you're
- 34:22Speaker 1: doing this. Now, obviously, stealing is not right. I mean,
- 34:26Speaker 1: come on. I'm not saying you're doing the right thing.
- 34:29Speaker 1: As a parent, I can understand. But is this not
- 34:31Speaker 1: an opportunity to talk to your daughter or your kids
- 34:33Speaker 1: and be like, hey, this isn't real?
- 34:35Speaker 2: Still, though, that's hard.
- 34:36Speaker 1: I know. I mean, I went through it, too. But
- 34:39Speaker 1: I just don't know if you could change the world
- 34:41Speaker 1: because of your kid. And I'm not saying that guy's
- 34:43Speaker 1: doing the right thing.
- 34:44Speaker 2: But I'm just saying the goat head.
- 34:46Speaker 4: And what happens if you get caught? It's not worth that.
- 34:49Speaker 4: kids gonna see you go to jail.
- 34:51Speaker 8: I get stealing is wrong but i also think there's
- 34:54Speaker 8: a point where people need to be considerate of the
- 34:57Speaker 8: neighbors like how are we supposed to be fun not
- 35:00Speaker 8: something that gives little kids nightmares you know yeah and
- 35:03Speaker 8: and yeah she's still you know my daughter's still scared
- 35:06Speaker 8: of the house and like you know he's still putting
- 35:08Speaker 8: up more decorations so.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Well what about going to talk to him first before
- 35:12Speaker 1: you steal stuff and tell him the situation That's.
- 35:15Speaker 8: The thing, like, he's the kind of guy that if,
- 35:17Speaker 8: you know, if you were trying to have, like, a
- 35:19Speaker 8: civil conversation with him, like, it would get ugly pretty quick.
- 35:22Speaker 8: So there's kind of, like, no point there.
- 35:24Speaker 1: Okay.
- 35:26Speaker 8: I know people are going to say I'm wrong, but, like,
- 35:28Speaker 8: I think there's a limit, you know, to how scary...
- 35:32Speaker 8: You should be allowed to make your house.
- 35:33Speaker 7: Really?
- 35:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:34Speaker 2: I don't want blood squirting out onto the sidewalk.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Hold up. But it's his house. He can do what
- 35:39Speaker 1: he wants to with his house. It's his house. He
- 35:41Speaker 1: owns it. I mean, it's Halloween. Well, that's not true. No,
- 35:44Speaker 1: I know.
- 35:44Speaker 2: Like, Halloween night, if you want to put all this
- 35:47Speaker 2: hairy stuff and squirt blood everywhere and have a fog machine, like,
- 35:50Speaker 2: do you? But I think, like, weeks leading up, blood
- 35:53Speaker 2: everywhere and, like, guts.
- 35:54Speaker 1: But Halloween is different to different people. It's not like
- 35:58Speaker 1: Christmas where we all can kind of agree what that's
- 36:01Speaker 1: all about.
- 36:01Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 36:02Speaker 1: Halloween, it's supposed to be scary, spooky and spirits. And
- 36:05Speaker 1: I mean, I guess what are you going to put
- 36:06Speaker 1: up the most friendly ghost ever? Casper. There's Casper in
- 36:10Speaker 1: your front yard. If that's not what you're into. Okay.
- 36:12Speaker 1: But I understand where you're coming from.
- 36:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:15Speaker 1: I'm going to see what people think. Cause I mean,
- 36:17Speaker 1: I don't know. That's a good, cause Candace obviously thinks
- 36:20Speaker 1: that I'm not saying you're agree with theft.
- 36:23Speaker 2: No, I don't. Some of it's gone way too far.
- 36:25Speaker 2: Like our old house, somebody sent me a picture of it.
- 36:28Speaker 2: One of our old neighbors and the new homeowners had like,
- 36:32Speaker 2: a truck parked in the driveway it had a like
- 36:34Speaker 2: dead body basically.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Hanging out of the back and then blood all over
- 36:38Speaker 1: the driveway.
- 36:39Speaker 2: Oh yeah i could not believe it you don't.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Like that's awesome well i i grew up in detroit
- 36:44Speaker 1: so that just feels like home.
- 36:48Speaker 2: I mean, obviously it was like a stuffed, you know,
- 36:49Speaker 2: they just stuffed the clothes or whatever of the thing,
- 36:52Speaker 2: but like the blood and stuff, we don't need that.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Yeah, we do.
- 36:55Speaker 2: Halloween night, go for it.
- 36:56Speaker 1: So why'd he die if there's no blood?
- 36:58Speaker 5: God.
- 36:59Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. Why is this guy slumped over in the truck?
- 37:02Speaker 2: He got scared to death.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Oh, he's sleeping, honey.
- 37:05Speaker 5: Yeah. No.
- 37:07Speaker 1: Well, sir, I'm going to see what people think. Very
- 37:09Speaker 1: interesting secret. I mean, fascinating. And I think it's going
- 37:13Speaker 1: to cause some people to talk about it. So let's
- 37:16Speaker 1: get into these. I'm already seeing people call. So we'll
- 37:18Speaker 1: get to them. And thank you for your confession.
- 37:21Speaker 7: Absolutely.
- 37:21Speaker 1: All right. There you go.
- 37:25Speaker 7: All right.
- 37:26Speaker 6: It's time for Candace Court. It gets settled here with
- 37:30Speaker 6: Billy the Kid in the morning.
- 37:31Speaker 1: All rise for the Honorable Judge Candace Lopez right now.
- 37:34Speaker 1: I need y'all to settle something because my son thinks
- 37:37Speaker 1: I'm completely out of line. And honestly, I don't understand why.
- 37:40Speaker 1: My son is 27. He's been dating this girl for
- 37:42Speaker 1: almost three years, his girlfriend. She's a very sweet girl.
- 37:45Speaker 1: She has a great career. She makes really good money,
- 37:48Speaker 1: six figures. My son does okay financially, but she definitely
- 37:51Speaker 1: makes more than he does. Anyway, about six months ago,
- 37:54Speaker 1: my husband lost his job. Things have been pretty tight
- 37:57Speaker 1: around the house. We've had to cut back a lot.
- 37:59Speaker 1: We've fallen on, you know, hard times. We're behind on
- 38:02Speaker 1: some bills. Well, a few weeks ago, I asked my
- 38:04Speaker 1: son's girlfriend if she'd be willing to help us out
- 38:07Speaker 1: with $ 2, 000 so we could get back on our feet.
- 38:12Speaker 1: She told me she wasn't comfortable lending money to family,
- 38:16Speaker 1: especially since, you know, her and my son aren't married,
- 38:20Speaker 1: which I guess they're not family, but, you know, anyway.
- 38:23Speaker 1: I thought that was pretty selfish, considering how long she's
- 38:27Speaker 1: been a part of our family and we treat her
- 38:29Speaker 1: like family. Here's where things got ugly. Last weekend, I
- 38:32Speaker 1: found out that she spent $ 4, 000 on a girl's trip
- 38:35Speaker 1: to Mexico. $ 4, 000, all caps.
- 38:39Speaker 8: She mad.
- 38:40Speaker 1: So I confronted her about it. What? And I told
- 38:44Speaker 1: her I thought it was pretty disgusting that she would
- 38:46Speaker 1: blow that kind of money on a vacation while her
- 38:48Speaker 1: boyfriend's parents are struggling to pay their bills. She told
- 38:52Speaker 1: me what she does with her money is none of
- 38:54Speaker 1: my business. Now my son is mad at me. It
- 38:58Speaker 1: says I owe her an apology. Sorry, but if you're
- 39:00Speaker 1: serious about marrying into our family, shouldn't you be willing
- 39:03Speaker 1: to help like we are family? Candace, what do you think?
- 39:07Speaker 5: Ooh.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Oh yeah what she spends her money is none of
- 39:11Speaker 2: your business no you're right why don't you ask your
- 39:14Speaker 2: son if you could borrow some money well he doesn't
- 39:16Speaker 2: have it you know i guess not but your son
- 39:18Speaker 2: is right and be glad that you raised him right
- 39:20Speaker 2: no no he's the right one you do owe her
- 39:23Speaker 2: an apology.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Yeah i mean i wouldn't have confronted her like that
- 39:27Speaker 1: no You're right. I mean, she can spend money if
- 39:29Speaker 1: she wants. Maybe they had the girls' trip planned. There's
- 39:31Speaker 1: no bearing on what's going on.
- 39:32Speaker 2: You don't know how long she saved for that or
- 39:34Speaker 2: planned that $ 4, 000 girls' trip. You're wrong for even asking.
- 39:38Speaker 1: She is definitely very abrasive for asking.
- 39:41Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 39:41Speaker 1: I mean, I'm bad at asking for help, but I
- 39:43Speaker 1: don't think I'd ever ask for help like that.
- 39:45Speaker 2: Right.
- 39:46Speaker 1: Yeah, but she considers old girl family. I mean, she
- 39:48Speaker 1: should have dated. Old girl.
- 39:49Speaker 7: $ 2, 000? Yeah.
- 39:50Speaker 3: Wait.
- 39:52Speaker 1: You saying she should have done it? I think she should.
- 39:55Speaker 4: Yeah, old girl should at least loan her future mother-in-law
- 39:58Speaker 4: some money.
- 39:58Speaker 1: Hold on.
- 39:59Speaker 2: Not her future mother-in-law. They're not even engaged.
- 40:01Speaker 1: They're going to. Candace.
- 40:03Speaker 2: Not anymore, probably. She probably doesn't want to be in
- 40:05Speaker 2: this family anymore.
- 40:05Speaker 1: If she considers them family, you know, that's why she asked. Like,
- 40:09Speaker 1: you're already... In the door. So why don't you hook
- 40:12Speaker 1: your mom and mom-in-law up? Hold on. I got to
- 40:15Speaker 1: say something because Candace and I, we've known Pooh for years.
- 40:19Speaker 4: We've known each other.
- 40:19Speaker 1: We've been friends for years. Okay. Okay. Can you ever
- 40:22Speaker 1: imagine Pooh lending anybody $ 2, 000? If I had it to lend,
- 40:30Speaker 1: I probably would do it. Play the line music.
- 40:32Speaker 9: If I had it.
- 40:33Speaker 8: Look.
- 40:34Speaker 4: If I'm going to loan somebody some money, it'd be
- 40:36Speaker 4: you or Candace because I know y'all would pay me back.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Everybody else out there? Nah. I ain't loaning nobody. So
- 40:43Speaker 1: you expect her to... I'm surprised by that. I don't
- 40:45Speaker 1: expect anybody to lend anybody money, especially in this situation.
- 40:49Speaker 5: Right.
- 40:50Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 40:50Speaker 2: And just to be so judgy about it, you're spending
- 40:52Speaker 2: $ 4, 000 on a girl's trip to Mexico? Yes, I am
- 40:55Speaker 2: because I worked my butt off and I'm saved for this.
- 40:57Speaker 1: That mom's probably old school. She's just thinking like that, but.
- 41:01Speaker 4: You know, at least give me $ 1, 000.
- 41:03Speaker 1: Like, hook me up.
- 41:04Speaker 6: No.
- 41:04Speaker 1: You see we're falling on hard times. Why are you
- 41:06Speaker 1: going to sit up there and then post online?
- 41:09Speaker 2: Woo-woo.
- 41:10Speaker 1: Yeah. That's her life. Why should she feel bad?
- 41:13Speaker 2: She shouldn't.
- 41:15Speaker 1: She works her butt off, and I'm sorry that you
- 41:17Speaker 1: mismanaged your money, and I get it. People fall on
- 41:19Speaker 1: hard times. It's tough.
- 41:20Speaker 5: Definitely.
- 41:20Speaker 2: And I want to know like all of the specifics
- 41:23Speaker 2: about what happened before, you know, maybe your husband was
- 41:27Speaker 2: like rude to somebody and got fired or, you know,
- 41:29Speaker 2: who knows?
- 41:30Speaker 7: Right.
- 41:30Speaker 1: And also, too, I don't know if I would. I'll
- 41:32Speaker 1: be honest. I don't know if I'd handle it like
- 41:34Speaker 1: the girlfriend did. Like, no, straight up. I'd be like, well,
- 41:37Speaker 1: let me see what I can do to help you.
- 41:38Speaker 1: And then I talked to, you know, my boyfriend. you know,
- 41:41Speaker 1: her son. Yeah. I'd be like, Hey, your mom asked
- 41:43Speaker 1: me this. Can you help her out? What's going on
- 41:45Speaker 1: over here?
- 41:46Speaker 5: Right.
- 41:46Speaker 2: You talk to her about it.
- 41:47Speaker 1: Yeah. If I was the mom, I wouldn't even go
- 41:49Speaker 1: to the, I wouldn't even go to my son and
- 41:51Speaker 1: be like, Hey, do you think so? And so, I mean, we're,
- 41:54Speaker 1: we're struggling over here. Yeah. But just to say straight
- 41:58Speaker 1: up and ask for $ 2, 000, not, hey, can you help
- 42:01Speaker 1: me out in some way? A specific amount is kind
- 42:03Speaker 1: of weird to me.
- 42:04Speaker 3: Right.
- 42:04Speaker 1: But I don't know. Apparently, Pooh, hey, if you need money,
- 42:07Speaker 1: Pooh's your guy.
- 42:08Speaker 4: I mean, I'm just saying, we're about to be family. Hey,
- 42:12Speaker 4: family struggles together.
- 42:13Speaker 1: When's the last time you lent money to family? Me? Yeah.
- 42:17Speaker 1: I lent my cousin Dre some money. When? A year ago.
- 42:22Speaker 4: And he paid me back with interest. I'll loan money
- 42:24Speaker 4: to Dre because Dre always does that. Hey, let me
- 42:26Speaker 4: borrow $ 400. I'll pay you back.
- 42:27Speaker 1: Hey, I trust Dre. I'll pay you back $ 600. But
- 42:30Speaker 1: I'm just surprised. But anybody can borrow from you. Are
- 42:35Speaker 1: you sure you don't have this story? Is it opposite, Danny? No, no, no.
- 42:37Speaker 1: You didn't borrow from Dre?
- 42:39Speaker 7: No, I didn't.
- 42:39Speaker 1: I didn't. Not this time. I have borrowed from Dre before.
- 42:43Speaker 1: I'll text Dre. Candace Lopez, you're the judge. What do
- 42:47Speaker 1: you think?
- 42:48Speaker 2: Yeah, this is unhinged. I'm sorry. You're guilty of being
- 42:50Speaker 2: a Klarna Cathy. Oh, Klarna.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Not the Klarna payments.
- 42:55Speaker 2: This is just so outrageous. You owe her an apology.
- 43:02Speaker 2: Your son has a right to be furious with you.
- 43:05Speaker 7: Okay.
- 43:05Speaker 2: That's ridiculous. You're going to go to his girlfriend and
- 43:07Speaker 2: ask for $ 2, 000 and confront her because she doesn't want
- 43:10Speaker 2: to pay you?
- 43:11Speaker 1: She is guilty of being a.
- 43:13Speaker 2: A clarna Cathy.
- 43:15Speaker 6: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 43:18Speaker 6: Kid in the morning.
- 43:19Speaker 5: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 43:21Speaker 1: Candace Lopez, what is going on?
- 43:24Speaker 2: Well, the Cowboys moved to 2-4 on the season after
- 43:26Speaker 2: that loss to Green Bay last night. The final score, 23-13.
- 43:29Speaker 3: God.
- 43:32Speaker 1: And that game, let me tell you something. That score
- 43:34Speaker 1: sounds better than it actually was if you didn't watch it.
- 43:36Speaker 5: Right.
- 43:37Speaker 2: They went scoreless in the first half for the first
- 43:39Speaker 2: time since November 21. It's such a problem.
- 43:41Speaker 1: It is such a problem. And honestly, I want everyone fired.
- 43:45Speaker 1: I want everyone. Because if you look at the Cowboys
- 43:47Speaker 1: on paper, we have a good team. You're like, all right,
- 43:50Speaker 1: we have. I mean, we got great players. We got
- 43:52Speaker 1: two of the best receivers.
- 43:54Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 43:54Speaker 1: What's going on?
- 43:55Speaker 2: Greatest offense there is. Isn't that what they were saying
- 43:58Speaker 2: over the summer?
- 43:58Speaker 1: That's where Dak jinxed us.
- 44:00Speaker 2: Gotti.
- 44:01Speaker 1: Yeah. Gotti nothing. Yeah. Gotti two and four record. What
- 44:04Speaker 1: you got? Yeah. Oh, it makes me so mad. But
- 44:06Speaker 1: you got a really good theory.
- 44:07Speaker 2: I do. I just feel like we are all suffering
- 44:10Speaker 2: from Dak's karma in his personal life. I mean, everything
- 44:14Speaker 2: that happened at the bachelor bachelorette party, the cheating allegations,
- 44:18Speaker 2: the failed, you know, wedding.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 44:21Speaker 2: Ladies, you know how when your ex is a huge
- 44:23Speaker 2: Cowboys fan and they lose, part of you just goes,
- 44:26Speaker 2: you know what? At least he's not happy tonight. And
- 44:28Speaker 2: that's what's happening this entire season because of his ex-fiance
- 44:32Speaker 2: and the baby.
- 44:33Speaker 1: This sounds personal.
- 44:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:35Speaker 1: Okay. So you're saying because Dak cheated is why the
- 44:38Speaker 1: entire franchise is going to suffer?
- 44:40Speaker 5: Yes.
- 44:40Speaker 2: He's got bad karma. This is, you know, her time
- 44:42Speaker 2: to shine and feel, you know, happy. Even if she
- 44:44Speaker 2: is a Cowboys fan to feel like, well... He's upset.
- 44:47Speaker 1: Yeah, he is. He's silently cheering. Yeah, exactly. Well, I mean,
- 44:50Speaker 1: I think there's some validity to that.
- 44:51Speaker 2: That's my theory.
- 44:52Speaker 1: I'm not mad at it. I also think our coaches suck, too.
- 44:55Speaker 2: Well, I mean, Shawnee's coached 23 games and has won
- 44:58Speaker 2: nine of them as a Cowboys head coach.
- 44:59Speaker 1: He was never a head coach in the NFL. Our
- 45:02Speaker 1: defensive guy was never. I mean, he's at the position
- 45:04Speaker 1: for the first time. I don't know what's going on,
- 45:06Speaker 1: but I will say that Fox 4 does this thing where,
- 45:09Speaker 1: you know, you can sound off on this like complaint line,
- 45:11Speaker 1: which we need.
- 45:12Speaker 2: Yeah, we do.
- 45:13Speaker 1: And I was listening to some of it, Fox 4.
- 45:16Speaker 1: Listen to this. Some of the stuff these people were
- 45:17Speaker 1: saying on their line, hysterical.
- 45:19Speaker 9: Brian Schottenheimer, it's time to get the boot, my man.
- 45:22Speaker 7: I am so freaking tired of Prescott. If you don't
- 45:26Speaker 7: have a defense, it's really hard to win football games.
- 45:31Speaker 2: Y'all got to get better.
- 45:32Speaker 9: Yeah, that guy will say better.
- 45:35Speaker 1: That one right there is my favorite.
- 45:36Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 45:37Speaker 1: Because she's just so simple. Take her into the locker
- 45:39Speaker 1: room and be like, sit back down and be like.
- 45:42Speaker 2: Y'all got to get better.
- 45:43Speaker 1: That's it.
- 45:43Speaker 2: Y'all got to get better.
- 45:44Speaker 1: I don't know what else to say, man.
- 45:45Speaker 9: Yeah, that guy who said that press guy was embarrassing,
- 45:49Speaker 9: you need to rehire him and get him Jerry.
- 45:51Speaker 1: Jones' job.
- 45:53Speaker 4: I've been a Cowboy fan for now 30-something years, and
- 45:56Speaker 4: I don't know why.
- 45:57Speaker 7: This is the worst relationship I've been in all my life.
- 46:03Speaker 1: All I can do is laugh at this point, but
- 46:04Speaker 1: either way, that's it.
- 46:05Speaker 2: That's literally all you can do. The Cowboys will be
- 46:07Speaker 2: in Philadelphia to play the Eagles for Monday Night Football
- 46:10Speaker 2: a week from tonight.
- 46:11Speaker 1: It's still our year.
- 46:13Speaker 5: It is.
- 46:14Speaker 1: We're coming back. Yeah, we're climbing out this hole.
- 46:16Speaker 2: All right. Yeah, keep saying that, guys. Let's talk about
- 46:19Speaker 2: something else. Sylvester Stallone now defending his decision to cast
- 46:23Speaker 2: his daughter in Tulsa King. So I guess he's being called,
- 46:27Speaker 2: you know, a part of this nepotism, nepo baby trend.
- 46:30Speaker 2: He's attached to all of that. He was asked about
- 46:32Speaker 2: it and said, of course, it's nepotism, you idiot.
- 46:35Speaker 1: Is that what he said?
- 46:36Speaker 2: He did. So his daughter, Scarlett Rose, she plays Spencer
- 46:39Speaker 2: on the show. She was in a recurring role, but
- 46:41Speaker 2: moved to a series regular, you know, season four started
- 46:44Speaker 2: streaming Friday. He said, you know, she was going to
- 46:47Speaker 2: have to prove herself. And I feel like that kind
- 46:48Speaker 2: of makes sense. Maybe she has.
- 46:50Speaker 1: I mean, if she's good and, you know, of course
- 46:53Speaker 1: you want to take care of your kids. He's got
- 46:54Speaker 1: a good point.
- 46:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, he says you're not a good parent
- 46:57Speaker 2: if you haven't performed a little nepotism. That's why we're parents.
- 47:00Speaker 2: We want the best for our kids. And I agree
- 47:02Speaker 2: to that to some extent. If your kid can actually
- 47:05Speaker 2: do the job.
- 47:06Speaker 1: As long as they can hold their own.
- 47:07Speaker 5: Right.
- 47:07Speaker 1: She's good in that show. Okay. Well, then there you go.
- 47:10Speaker 2: Yeah, she deserves a role there. You know, there's some
- 47:12Speaker 2: other cases of nepo babies that we could argue with,
- 47:15Speaker 2: but not this one.
- 47:16Speaker 1: Yeah, there's some where you're just like, well, I love
- 47:18Speaker 1: that Stella Lefty girl. Yeah.
- 47:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:20Speaker 1: You know, on a train back from Boston.
- 47:22Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 47:22Speaker 1: You know, she's Groupon's the Groupon CEO.
- 47:26Speaker 2: He's like a billionaire.
- 47:27Speaker 1: He's like a billionaire. And people are like, well, she
- 47:28Speaker 1: just buys her songs and hits. But I'm like, yeah, well,
- 47:31Speaker 1: I guess. Yeah.
- 47:32Speaker 2: I mean, that definitely helps. But I mean, if that's
- 47:35Speaker 2: her real voice and, you know, it sounds good. She's
- 47:37Speaker 2: a good singer. The songs are catchy.
- 47:39Speaker 1: I wish I was a nepo, baby. Right. Instead, I
- 47:42Speaker 1: was just a premature baby.
- 47:43Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh.
- 47:44Speaker 1: All right. I'm just a nappy headed baby.
- 47:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 47:48Speaker 2: I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories on
- 47:51Speaker 2: Mix 102.9.
- 47:52Speaker 1: God, we suck.
- 47:53Speaker 2: Oh, that's a hot take.
- 47:56Speaker 8: Let us know what you think.
- 47:57Speaker 2: Here's today's hot take.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Mix 102.9, your shot at $ 1, 000. Coming up next, get ready.
- 48:03Speaker 1: Get that iHeartRadio app ready. You want some money? Our
- 48:05Speaker 1: cash cow is out back. Just come milk it.
- 48:10Speaker 2: Sure.
- 48:11Speaker 1: That was a lot.
- 48:11Speaker 2: You want to.
- 48:12Speaker 1: Either way, it's Billy the Kid. Candice Lopez is here.
- 48:15Speaker 1: Producer Pooh is here. So the reason why I was
- 48:18Speaker 1: going to make this a Candice Court, but I'll be
- 48:19Speaker 1: real honest why I didn't make it a Candice Court. Because, listen,
- 48:23Speaker 1: if you know me and you tell me your problems,
- 48:26Speaker 1: I'm talking about it on the radio.
- 48:27Speaker 2: Yeah, as you should.
- 48:29Speaker 1: I'm sorry, but you're one of my friends and you're like,
- 48:30Speaker 1: you wouldn't believe why so-and-so got mad at me. But
- 48:33Speaker 1: I know they listen at that time. And then they
- 48:36Speaker 1: go into work, so I can't talk about their problems
- 48:38Speaker 1: when they're listening because they'll be happy about it. I
- 48:40Speaker 1: don't know if they'll be thrilled about it.
- 48:42Speaker 7: Right.
- 48:42Speaker 1: So I'm going to talk about it when they're not listening.
- 48:44Speaker 1: Then they'll hear about it later and be mad. Either way. So,
- 48:46Speaker 1: you know, I side with ladies 99% of the time
- 48:50Speaker 1: to the point where guys get annoyed with me. And
- 48:52Speaker 1: I get DMs like, oh, well, what about us? Blah, blah, blah.
- 48:56Speaker 1: So my friend and his girlfriend are in a fight.
- 49:00Speaker 1: I should say fiancee. They've been together for a while.
- 49:03Speaker 1: They're in a fight about the most ridiculous thing. And
- 49:05Speaker 1: he's like, Billy, come on. Tell me what you think
- 49:07Speaker 1: about this. And he says, so she's mad at me
- 49:10Speaker 1: because I don't remember what she was wearing when we met.
- 49:14Speaker 1: And I was like, wait a minute. hold on wait
- 49:20Speaker 1: what he's like yeah so we're talking and blah blah
- 49:24Speaker 1: blah and she's like oh I'll never forget that day
- 49:26Speaker 1: it was so fun because you know we did this
- 49:28Speaker 1: and we met and I know exactly what you were
- 49:30Speaker 1: wearing what was I wearing and he's like I don't
- 49:33Speaker 1: know She was like, are you serious? Clothes. And I
- 49:37Speaker 1: thought to myself, is that normal? Is it normal? Because
- 49:40Speaker 1: I'm going to side with the guy on this. I
- 49:42Speaker 1: don't think it's normal to remember... what somebody was wearing
- 49:46Speaker 1: the day you met him?
- 49:47Speaker 2: Okay, but I remember what Eric was wearing the day
- 49:50Speaker 2: I met him.
- 49:51Speaker 1: You do?
- 49:52Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 49:52Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 49:53Speaker 2: But I just remember the whole night in general. I
- 49:55Speaker 2: remember what I was wearing.
- 49:56Speaker 1: You do? Okay, don't say what you were wearing because
- 49:59Speaker 1: I feel like, you know what? See, I know Eric
- 50:02Speaker 1: probably does remember what you were wearing.
- 50:04Speaker 2: I don't think he does.
- 50:05Speaker 1: Eric, if you're listening... Call us, please. 833-787-1029. Because I
- 50:12Speaker 1: guarantee you, Eric.
- 50:13Speaker 2: He might be mowing the lawn.
- 50:14Speaker 1: Oh, he might be? He might be.
- 50:15Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 50:16Speaker 1: Of course he is.
- 50:17Speaker 2: But no, I'm curious, too.
- 50:18Speaker 1: He might be building a shelter for homeless people right now.
- 50:21Speaker 1: Eric's always doing something awesome. I know. He's going to
- 50:23Speaker 1: remember exactly what you're wearing. And if he is, I'm
- 50:26Speaker 1: going to be so annoyed. I'm going to be so annoyed.
- 50:29Speaker 1: I'm shocked you're siding with the guy, though. Why is it?
- 50:31Speaker 1: Because you're very, like... You pay attention to detail when
- 50:34Speaker 1: you're dating somebody. No, I do. He is. He's like.
- 50:38Speaker 4: Captain Romantic. Well, he can talk all that noise, but
- 50:40Speaker 4: Billy's like, I don't know about that.
- 50:42Speaker 1: Daddy Hallmark. He'll leave you a little note.
- 50:44Speaker 2: But he is once he knows he should be or
- 50:46Speaker 2: needs to be.
- 50:47Speaker 1: Candace just nailed it.
- 50:48Speaker 2: So exactly.
- 50:48Speaker 1: If I just meet somebody for the first time, I'm
- 50:50Speaker 1: not emotionally invested. Yeah. So why would I?
- 50:53Speaker 5: Right.
- 50:53Speaker 1: You know, I might remember, oh, I remember the night that,
- 50:55Speaker 1: you know, we went out and you were wearing this
- 50:57Speaker 1: because now I'm emotionally invested and I'm into you.
- 50:59Speaker 3: Right.
- 50:59Speaker 2: And I already knew I was going to meet Eric
- 51:01Speaker 2: that night. It wasn't like, oh, this random person. You
- 51:04Speaker 2: know what I mean?
- 51:04Speaker 1: By the way, he's not calling he hates us.
- 51:06Speaker 2: He doesn't want to see us. We were out with
- 51:07Speaker 2: a group of friends to dinner. And I knew he
- 51:10Speaker 2: was going to be there. So it wasn't, you know,
- 51:12Speaker 2: I really paid attention that day.
- 51:13Speaker 1: It wasn't a first date. No. So do you remember
- 51:16Speaker 1: what you're wearing on your first official date? No. You don't? No.
- 51:20Speaker 1: I wonder if he remembers. I guess I'll have to
- 51:22Speaker 1: wonder if he wonders. If he wonders, because he doesn't
- 51:24Speaker 1: care to call us.
- 51:25Speaker 2: Yeah, he might be mowing the lawn.
- 51:26Speaker 1: Maybe text him and have him say, now, this is
- 51:28Speaker 1: something I know. Like, okay, for example, poo.
- 51:31Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 51:32Speaker 1: Would you remember what somebody, why am I even asking this? No,
- 51:35Speaker 1: I'm not going to remember. Would you remember? I got
- 51:37Speaker 1: in an argument with him. You know what? I even
- 51:39Speaker 1: got a homeboy who saved, like, he wrote a girl's,
- 51:42Speaker 1: he got her number. Yeah. And he saved a little
- 51:45Speaker 1: bar napkin that he got her number for. Oh, really?
- 51:47Speaker 1: At the bar. I was like, why? Why were you
- 51:50Speaker 1: doing that? That's cute.
- 51:51Speaker 2: That's really cute.
- 51:51Speaker 1: It's all wet up and everything.
- 51:53Speaker 5: No.
- 51:54Speaker 1: You don't save stuff like that from a relationship? No. Oh, yeah.
- 51:57Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
- 51:58Speaker 2: See?
- 51:58Speaker 1: I used to save stuff like that.
- 52:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 52:00Speaker 1: He'll do that and make like a. An arrangement or something.
- 52:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 52:04Speaker 1: Or a picture with it or something. Oh, yeah. Billy's like.
- 52:06Speaker 1: I've done that before. Yeah. I used to write notes
- 52:09Speaker 1: every single morning for someone before I left every day.
- 52:12Speaker 1: I mean, look what that got me, buddy. Not me.
- 52:15Speaker 1: I might shoot you a text. I might shoot you
- 52:18Speaker 1: a text. A good morning text? Yeah. Do you remember
- 52:21Speaker 1: what Eric was wearing? Or your Uber's here.
- 52:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 52:25Speaker 1: You really do?
- 52:26Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 52:26Speaker 2: The day I met him, yeah, I do.
- 52:28Speaker 1: Pooh just said, I'm going to text your Ubers here.
- 52:31Speaker 1: Come on, Pooh. I did. I mean, back in the day.
- 52:34Speaker 1: You used to do what? No, I would be savage
- 52:37Speaker 1: like that. I'd be like, hey, girl, your Uber's here.
- 52:39Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? When I didn't want him
- 52:40Speaker 1: to spend the night.
- 52:41Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh.
- 52:43Speaker 1: That was back in the day. I'm changed. It's not
- 52:45Speaker 1: that back in the day if Uber was around. I mean,
- 52:48Speaker 1: years ago. Oh, I don't know. Yeah, I used to
- 52:51Speaker 1: be a savage. I used to be. Not anymore. I
- 52:53Speaker 1: don't know if I believe this. Well, I'm also a
- 52:56Speaker 1: little bit concerned, Pooh, about his dating life lately because
- 52:58Speaker 1: I don't know what's going on with this girl that
- 53:00Speaker 1: he was dating.
- 53:01Speaker 2: Okay.
- 53:01Speaker 1: But now he hasn't mentioned her in days, and I'm like, hmm.
- 53:04Speaker 1: Do you remember what she was wearing on your date
- 53:06Speaker 1: a couple days ago? Yeah. Yeah. She had on some jeans.
- 53:10Speaker 1: Jeans and a white top. You do? Well, then you
- 53:13Speaker 1: do remember. Yeah, I remember that. Yeah, I remember that.
- 53:14Speaker 2: But you would remember, right? From like a week ago?
- 53:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I can remember a week ago. Yeah. Now, ask
- 53:19Speaker 1: me three months ago. Is this Eric calling now? It
- 53:21Speaker 1: might be. Okay. If not, I'm going to try to
- 53:23Speaker 1: get to it. It's coming up on a weird line. Okay. Hello,
- 53:26Speaker 1: it's Mix. Is this Eric? Yeah, what's up, y'all?
- 53:30Speaker 7: Hey!
- 53:31Speaker 1: Oh, God, he's going to hate me for this. Hold on,
- 53:33Speaker 1: you're live on the radio. Don't cuss.
- 53:35Speaker 7: Oh, I'm live?
- 53:37Speaker 1: Yeah, you're live. Do not cuss. Eric is, if you
- 53:41Speaker 1: don't know, is Candace's husband, and we love him, and
- 53:43Speaker 1: he's perfect, and he builds stuff, and he has the
- 53:45Speaker 1: perfect grass. Yeah, lawn daddy. And everything's awesome, and he's
- 53:48Speaker 1: a great dad, and he's a great guy, but we
- 53:50Speaker 1: got a question. We're totally putting you on the spot
- 53:52Speaker 1: right now, okay?
- 53:53Speaker 3: Oh, this sounds fun.
- 53:55Speaker 1: Yeah, it does sound fun. Do you remember... What Candace
- 53:59Speaker 1: was wearing when you met her. The day that I
- 54:03Speaker 1: met her? Yeah.
- 54:06Speaker 2: We were all at dinner at Don Cuco's.
- 54:09Speaker 1: At Don Cuco's.
- 54:10Speaker 7: I remember where we were.
- 54:11Speaker 3: I remember where we were, what time-ish, what car I
- 54:14Speaker 3: was driving, but absolutely not. I have no idea what
- 54:17Speaker 3: you were wearing.
- 54:18Speaker 1: Oh, Eric, come on. Eric, I had all my money
- 54:21Speaker 1: on that you would.
- 54:22Speaker 2: That's fair. He's not in trouble for that, though. I'm
- 54:25Speaker 2: not mad about it.
- 54:26Speaker 1: You're not? Why are you wearing it?
- 54:29Speaker 3: If you had asked me this 10 years ago, pre-kid,
- 54:32Speaker 3: I probably.
- 54:32Speaker 8: Would have remembered every detail.
- 54:34Speaker 3: But I'm telling you now, in my mid-40s, I'm going
- 54:36Speaker 3: through whatever male version of peri-menopause is, and I'm forgetting everything.
- 54:41Speaker 1: Oh, Eric done caught the peri? You caught it, too?
- 54:43Speaker 2: Oh, wow.
- 54:44Speaker 7: I caught the peri, dog.
- 54:45Speaker 1: Who has it worse? Who has it worse, Candace or you, though?
- 54:48Speaker 7: What?
- 54:51Speaker 3: If I say anything but Candice, then I will be
- 54:54Speaker 3: sleeping at your house tonight.
- 54:56Speaker 1: So, yes, Candice absolutely has it worked right now.
- 54:59Speaker 5: Smart answer. The new Mix 102.9. Hi, Robin.
- 55:02Speaker 1: Thank you so much for having us on this morning.
- 55:03Speaker 1: It's Mix 102.9. Ability Kid, Candice Lopez, Producer Pooh. Candice,
- 55:08Speaker 1: we had such a good time Saturday. I just want
- 55:10Speaker 1: to say thank you to everybody who came out, smashed
- 55:12Speaker 1: some pumpkins with us at Thrillvania. That was a good time,
- 55:14Speaker 1: even though I was absolutely terrified for a couple reasons.
- 55:18Speaker 1: First of all, we smashed pumpkins with prizes in them,
- 55:21Speaker 1: so if you won on the air, you get to
- 55:23Speaker 1: reserve your spot and go out there. I tested out
- 55:25Speaker 1: the crane and went up so we could smash pumpkins
- 55:29Speaker 1: and make sure it was good for everyone else to
- 55:31Speaker 1: go up. Which I don't know why I did that. Thankfully,
- 55:33Speaker 1: I was in good hands. Kevin, shout out to Kevin,
- 55:36Speaker 1: who was operating the crane or the lift. Yeah. Did
- 55:39Speaker 1: not know that thing went up about five stories in
- 55:41Speaker 1: the air.
- 55:43Speaker 2: He said it was called a man lift. Yeah.
- 55:45Speaker 1: Yeah. Is that what it was?
- 55:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I asked him.
- 55:47Speaker 1: I was far from a man when I got up there.
- 55:50Speaker 2: I couldn't tell if you were just being dramatic or
- 55:52Speaker 2: if you were actually scared.
- 55:53Speaker 1: No, it was shaky. It was probably completely safe, probably.
- 55:59Speaker 1: But I was like, wait, I don't know if I
- 56:01Speaker 1: love this.
- 56:02Speaker 2: You're also staring straight down at a graveyard.
- 56:04Speaker 8: Yes.
- 56:04Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. We were at Thrillvania. Thrillvania. If you're looking
- 56:08Speaker 1: for somewhere to go, this is not a commercial. Obviously,
- 56:11Speaker 1: you know, whatever. We just did our event there. It
- 56:13Speaker 1: was incredible.
- 56:14Speaker 2: It really was.
- 56:15Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 56:15Speaker 2: We went into the haunted house. I don't know what
- 56:17Speaker 2: it was called. It was the one right behind us.
- 56:20Speaker 2: I took my niece because she was in town from college.
- 56:23Speaker 2: And so she came to work with me. And we
- 56:26Speaker 2: went to the haunted house. It was her first time
- 56:27Speaker 2: in a haunted house. I... That thing is so realistic,
- 56:31Speaker 2: so freaky.
- 56:32Speaker 7: It is.
- 56:33Speaker 2: She got trapped by the chainsaw guy, one of the
- 56:36Speaker 2: chainsaw guys.
- 56:37Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 56:37Speaker 2: Yeah, because it was me, her, and her friend, and
- 56:40Speaker 2: we were linked arm in arm, you know, and I
- 56:42Speaker 2: obviously had to go first. Like, I'm the adult, like,
- 56:45Speaker 2: real adult here.
- 56:46Speaker 1: The real adult. Yeah. That's questionable.
- 56:49Speaker 2: They're technically adults, but, like, I'm her aunt, right? So
- 56:52Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm an elite. I guess I've never led
- 56:54Speaker 2: through a haunted house. I'm always in the back, so
- 56:56Speaker 2: I just put my hood over my head and just
- 56:57Speaker 2: kind of like... Made my way through. Yeah. But she
- 57:01Speaker 2: got unattached by arms at one point and trapped by
- 57:04Speaker 2: the chainsaw guy. We didn't see her for a minute.
- 57:06Speaker 2: I'm like, she's in there yelling. He's like chainsawing all
- 57:08Speaker 2: over the place.
- 57:09Speaker 1: Oh, my. Did she have a good time?
- 57:10Speaker 2: She did, but it was a lot.
- 57:12Speaker 1: Well, thank you to Throwvania. I felt bad. No, it
- 57:14Speaker 1: was intense.
- 57:15Speaker 2: It was fun, though.
- 57:16Speaker 1: Yeah, thank you to Mike, Jason out there, Kevin. Everybody
- 57:20Speaker 1: was so cool. Yeah. But, yeah, they have that haunted mansion.
- 57:23Speaker 1: It looks so familiar. I didn't even know the full story,
- 57:25Speaker 1: but I guess they moved this mansion somewhere. From like
- 57:28Speaker 1: Disney World or something crazy.
- 57:30Speaker 2: That makes sense because the props inside there were incredible.
- 57:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 57:34Speaker 2: Like if you love, love haunted houses, you definitely want
- 57:37Speaker 2: to go there.
- 57:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess they moved it in pieces here and
- 57:40Speaker 1: then put it in tarot.
- 57:42Speaker 2: It's a really cool structure.
- 57:43Speaker 1: Yeah, it is really cool. It looks cool. Yeah. It's
- 57:47Speaker 1: very cool. But that was a good time. So thank
- 57:48Speaker 1: you to everybody who came out. It was so much fun.
- 57:50Speaker 1: Check out Thrillvania. I think you'll love it. What did
- 57:53Speaker 1: you do yesterday, Pooh? Where were you at?
- 57:54Speaker 4: Oh, I was at State Fair. All my cousins, they
- 57:56Speaker 4: called me up and they said, hey, we're coming into town.
- 57:59Speaker 4: We're going to the State Fair for the last day.
- 58:01Speaker 4: And I haven't seen everybody probably, I want to say
- 58:05Speaker 4: about 15 years at least since.
- 58:08Speaker 1: My grandma passed.
- 58:09Speaker 7: Wow.
- 58:09Speaker 4: I was just like, wow, let me just show up
- 58:12Speaker 4: and represent. I can't believe the fair's over already.
- 58:14Speaker 2: I know. It was so good this year.
- 58:16Speaker 1: It makes me kind of sad.
- 58:17Speaker 7: Yeah, me too.
- 58:17Speaker 2: But they're going to donate all the leftover food today,
- 58:19Speaker 2: which is good.
- 58:20Speaker 1: Shout out to the State Fair of Texas. Is there
- 58:22Speaker 1: any left after poo? I'll tell you this. A hack.
- 58:26Speaker 4: Always go on the last day. Because I went over there.
- 58:28Speaker 4: A guy was cooking turkey legs. And I was like,
- 58:31Speaker 4: you know, I paid for one.
- 58:32Speaker 1: He was like, you want another one?
- 58:34Speaker 5: What?
- 58:34Speaker 1: And I was like. Yes, I do, sir. Wow. Yeah,
- 58:38Speaker 1: because they have all this extra stuff. Well, that's one
- 58:41Speaker 1: turkey leg that a homeless person could have.
- 58:45Speaker 4: Just call me food bank poo. I'm telling you, I
- 58:48Speaker 4: was like, I got cotton candy.
- 58:50Speaker 1: Thank you to the State Fair of Texas for everything
- 58:52Speaker 1: they do. Sorry, who ate one of the turkey legs
- 58:56Speaker 1: for one of the food pantries. It's fine. Don't worry
- 59:01Speaker 1: about that. You need two turkey legs. I mean, who
- 59:04Speaker 1: can even eat two turkey legs? I need one for
- 59:07Speaker 1: the ride home and then one for the ride home.
- 59:10Speaker 1: Later on when I get hungry. Steering wheel all greasy.
- 59:16Speaker 1: I was reading this story. You guys are going to
- 59:18Speaker 1: crack up at this. I should have put it in
- 59:20Speaker 1: real or fake news this morning. This story made me laugh,
- 59:23Speaker 1: but at the same time, he's alive. Let me just
- 59:25Speaker 1: start by saying that. He's alive. Florida man shoots Uber
- 59:29Speaker 1: Eats driver in the butt for flirting with his girlfriend.
- 59:32Speaker 3: No.
- 59:32Speaker 1: So.
- 59:36Speaker 5: What?
- 59:36Speaker 1: Shout out to our Uber drivers. Uber, Uber Eats. They
- 59:39Speaker 1: go through some stuff.
- 59:40Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 59:40Speaker 1: This was a bold move. So basically what happens is
- 59:43Speaker 1: this Uber driver delivers food to this girl. He's like,
- 59:46Speaker 1: here you go. And she's like, thank you so much.
- 59:48Speaker 1: She's really sweet. And he's like, wow. She was cute.
- 59:52Speaker 1: So he's like, man, you know what? I'm going to
- 59:54Speaker 1: make this other food run. He thinks about it. He's like,
- 59:55Speaker 1: I'm going back. I'm going to go back. Shoot his shot?
- 59:59Speaker 1: He's going to shoot his shot. He's like, I'm going
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: to go back. I'm doing it. Why not? You only
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: live once. She was so cute. I got to shoot
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: my shot, even though it is very unprofessional. Yeah. Don't
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: you think?
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:00:10Speaker 5: It is.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: I mean, cute or creepy, it's definitely probably leans towards creepy.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: So he drives back to the house, knocks on the door.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: He's like, hey, you know, listen, I know I just
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: delivered your food. She thinks something's wrong. He's like, is
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: there any way, you know, maybe you and I could
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: go out? And she's like, oh, no, I'm sorry. Like, no,
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: I'm I have a boyfriend.
- 1:00:29Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: Boyfriend gets up off the couch. He's like, what's going on?
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: He's like, oh, I'm so I'm so sorry. No disrespect.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: I came back here. I thought she was cute. He's like, well,
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: it's actually a lot of disrespect, so why don't you
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: just go ahead and get on the ground? And pulls
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: a gun on this guy, gets him on the ground,
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: and then shoots him in the butt. No!
- 1:00:50Speaker 5: Wow!
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: Shoots him in the cake.
- 1:00:52Speaker 7: Oh!
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: Yeah, in the right cheek. That's very specific. Thankfully, he's okay.
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: Yeah, then what?
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: Then what do you mean?
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: Well, you shot the guy in his butt.
- 1:01:03Speaker 7: Now what?
- 1:01:05Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: Get off my porch.
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: Drive home?
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: Drive to the hospital?
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: Yeah, he drove, and now the guy's arrested. So maybe
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: now she is single. I don't know.
- 1:01:13Speaker 6: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 1:01:16Speaker 6: Kid in the Morning.
- 1:01:17Speaker 5: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: Candace Lopez, what is going on in our crazy world?
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: Well, early voting for the November 3rd midterm election starts
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: today in Texas. It'll go through Friday, October 30th. Dallas
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: County polls are open. Tarrant County, Denton, Collin. You do
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: need a valid photo ID to vote. You're voting for
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: a Senate seat, the governor, attorney general. There's a lot
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: of important races, even down ballot, things that you should
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: pay attention to, maybe in your school district, things like that.
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: But a big day for voting getting underway, guys. This
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: new survey says Americans aren't having as many guests over anymore.
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: And I found this to be interesting. They say in 1975, 42%
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: of people said they would host friends or family at
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: least once a month.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: That's a lot.
- 1:02:04Speaker 5: Is it?
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: I was going to say that's not a lot.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: Once a month?
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: Do you have people over once a month?
- 1:02:09Speaker 7: No.
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: Once a year? Maybe we're talking.
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: Well, today it's 12%.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: Oh, okay. So it's one way down.
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: Yeah, barely anybody's having anybody over.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: But, I mean, it makes sense, and I think it's
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: the main reason is because of money. Yeah.
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: No, that's part of it. Yeah, there's a lot of factors,
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: theories on why this is happening. One of them being
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: we're just too tired, which that's really my reason. I'm
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: just too tired. I'll go to your house.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: But to put in the effort to clean, to cook, to,
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: you know, plan.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: You go to someone else's house and mess their house up.
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: Exactly. We're tired. Expectations are too high. It's expensive, like
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: you said. And then they say we have fewer friends
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: in general.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: I was going to say, I think people nowadays have
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: fewer friends because of online. Like, yeah, in a weird way.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: I think people get so sucked into a world that
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: isn't real. Well, we forget about real connections.
- 1:03:03Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: It's kind of sad sometimes.
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: Yeah. They say that the screens are really just making
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: people stay home in their own homes a lot more
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: because it's a lot easier. But have someone over. Maybe
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: we should plan that soon.
- 1:03:14Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: I'll have you guys over soon.
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: I'll FaceTime. Can I Zoom it? No. I'm kidding. I
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: would come over. We're waiting for an invite.
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: Well, it's coming.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: I'm waiting for an invite to Candace's house. Never been there.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: Pooh's house. Never been there 30 years.
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: I haven't been to your house since I moved back
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: three and a half years ago.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: Well, that's because. Oh, it hasn't changed. Yeah, it hasn't changed.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: At least you've been to my house at all.
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: You got a new couch since I was there last?
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I've had probably 13 new couches. You're right.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: Since you've been over. You got a new dining table.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: Yeah. That's what I do is get new stuff, Candace,
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: because nobody wants to come over. You don't want to
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: come over?
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: I do want to come over.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: I want to come over. I know Pooh does. I
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: need to try to get rid of him. My pantry
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: can't support that.
- 1:03:54Speaker 7: Right.
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: Guys, Val Shmerkovsky has been suspended from Dancing with the
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: Stars this week for implying that he wanted to slap
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: Carrie Ann Anaba, one of the judges. So if you
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: didn't know, Val's wife, Jenna Johnson, is also on the show.
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: And after her dance last week, I guess she had
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: some pretty harsh criticism from Carrie Ann. Well, then Val
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: went on social media saying, you almost saw Fresh Prince
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: enter the ballroom last night. So the implication is that,
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: you know, he wanted to slap Carrie Ann for her comments. Like,
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: you know, Will Smith.
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: Yeah. So what a weird way to put it, though.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: Fresh Prince.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: Will Smith. I mean. You know, people are, well, it's
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: just a joke. I mean, jokes like violence against women.
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not funny.
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: It's not that funny.
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: Choose your joke better. Be more creative.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: Be funny.
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: Yeah, be funny. You know, she wasn't amused by it.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: No, and he was genuinely angry. So I'm not saying
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: they should cancel the guy, but I think she does
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: deserve an apology.
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, have him come on the show next
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: week and apologize and let's call it good and dance again,
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: I guess.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: But, you know, slapping a woman is not funny.
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: It's not funny at all. The studio that produces the show,
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: you know, they weren't amused, obviously. So they took him
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: off the lineup. No word yet on if he's going
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: to be back next week. But his partner on the show,
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: you know, is Jenna Dewan. So she's now going to
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: dance with Alan Burstyn, who was eliminated in week two.
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: So it'll be fun to see him back on the show.
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: But Val did apologize. saying she didn't deserve to get
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: caught in the middle of his bad judgment and that
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: He hates that she was, but, you know, I guess
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: that's good enough, maybe.
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: Candace, do you want a fun fact?
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I love fun facts.
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: Producer Pooh used to dance with Jenna Dewan, according to him. Oh, God.
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: That's right.
- 1:05:38Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: Why is that funny? The way you say it, like.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: That's what you told us.
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: I mean, we did, all of us. Marty Koudelka, our
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: boy Joe Vega, we all used to hang out, yeah.
- 1:05:48Speaker 7: No, no.
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: Way, way back in the day. Not hang out. I'm
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: talking about you said, we brought up Jenna Dewan one
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: time because I said she's from Grapevine. Right, right. And
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: she used to be married to Channing Tatum. Yeah. And
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: he said verbatim, oh, I used to be friends with Juana. Juana. Juana.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: Juana Dance.
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: Jenna Dewan.
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. Jenna Dewan. You said I used to dance
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: with her.
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: Yeah, powerhouse.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I used to go there all the time. I
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: thought I was going to be a professional. Like dance class? Yeah,
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: I used to just hang out. I was just, I
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: didn't take it seriously. So which one is it?
- 1:06:18Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: Did you used to dance or did you used to
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: hang out?
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: Did you take hip hop?
- 1:06:21Speaker 4: Yes, I took classes with Marty Cadet. Like, Marty was
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: one of the teachers. Marty is Justin Timberlake's choreographer.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: We know who Marty is.
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: Was this before or after you auditioned to be in
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: the Vanilla Ice video?
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: This was after. After.
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: This was after?
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: Yeah, after.
- 1:06:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: Yeah. It was after. It was way back in the day-day.
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: After you didn't get cast in the music video, you
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: were like, I got to go to Powerhouse and.
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: Take a rest. I just went to Powerhouse. Yeah, I
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: was one of them hoodwreck kids who would hang around.
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: That's fun.
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: Where was that? Powerhouse used to be right here by Jesuit.
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: They have one location right here. Okay, and that's where
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: Jenna went? Jenna went to know the one in Richardson.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: So now she didn't go to the one you went to.
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: Everybody in the dance community. Why does he got to
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: make everything so difficult? I'm telling you what happened. You
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: told me you hung out with her. Yeah, we did.
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: We would go to different clubs and stuff. Yes, I
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: knew her. I knew. I can honestly say I knew her.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: That's all I was asking. I believe it, too. Yeah,
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: I didn't say we dated or nothing like that. I
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: didn't say that.
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: He said y'all danced together.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: I said y'all danced together, and you got all defensive.
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: I'm like, that's cool.
- 1:07:21Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it's very cool.
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: That's a cool fact. Yeah, I'm a cool guy, Billy.
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: Anybody who has to say they're a cool guy, not
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: a cool guy.
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: You are.
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: You are. Candace, I'm over this. Am I in this
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: or not? No.
- 1:07:35Speaker 8: Oh, okay, yeah.
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas top stories on
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: Mix 102.9.
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: All I asked is one thing, and he gets so defensive.
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: I'm like, if y'all were friends, I just, y'all were friends.
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: It's not weird. And he's like, no, I didn't say that. Okay.
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: What's the issue? Why are you so defensive about it?
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: Text her. I'd love to say hi. I don't know.
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: I don't have her number. I don't have her number.
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: She could get us into the tour.
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: Dancing with the Stars.
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: Be like, hey, Jenna, it's Pooh.
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: If she shows up on the tour and I make
- 1:08:05Speaker 4: my way back, she will remember me.
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: I guarantee that.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: Okay, we're going to make that happen. I know her
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: best friend, so I'll... We got to work this out.
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: Emmanuel Shrinky and her best friend.
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: That's right. How much do you want to bet? She'll
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: be like, oh, yeah.
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: She's very nice, though.
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: That's the problem.
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: No, I just got to drop one name when I
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: see her and I'll be like, I'm such such.
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: No, you can't do that.
- 1:08:29Speaker 4: Because you'll know who I that's the only way she'll
- 1:08:31Speaker 4: be able to say, I know you.
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: I promise you do it. Make it happen.
- 1:08:35Speaker 5: I promise.
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: And then she's going to be like, and then don't
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: say your name. Will she know your name? She don't
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: know my government. She'd just say poo. I guarantee you
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: $ 10, 000 she would not say poo.
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: Let's set this up.
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: Okay, set it up, Candace. I'm about to make some money.
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: The new mix 102.9 it's dirty little secret with billy

- 1:09:16Speaker 1: at Billy on the Radio, whatever's easiest. Now, you got one.
- 1:09:19Speaker 8: Yeah, I have a secret that I know is going
- 1:09:21Speaker 8: to make me sound like a total male Karen, but honestly,
- 1:09:25Speaker 8: I kind of don't even care anymore. I've been stealing
- 1:09:31Speaker 8: my neighbor's Halloween decorations. I've taken a couple of them,
- 1:09:34Speaker 8: and he has absolutely no idea that it's me.
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: Aww.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: You've been stealing them? Stealing his Halloween decorations?
- 1:09:42Speaker 5: What?
- 1:09:45Speaker 8: So there's this guy in our neighborhood who goes absolutely
- 1:09:48Speaker 8: insane decorating his house for Halloween. And I know I'm
- 1:09:53Speaker 8: not talking about like cute pumpkins and skeletons talking straight
- 1:09:57Speaker 8: up R-rated like horror movie stuff. Okay. Yeah, he's got
- 1:10:04Speaker 8: decorations that literally squirt fake blood, mannequin heads scattered across
- 1:10:09Speaker 8: his lawn, that have been cut off with chainsaws, and, like,
- 1:10:13Speaker 8: you know, all kinds of disturbing and disgusting things. I'm
- 1:10:18Speaker 8: all for Halloween, but this guy takes it way too far,
- 1:10:22Speaker 8: and my kids are literally scared to walk to school
- 1:10:25Speaker 8: because they have to pass his house. I mean, it's ridiculous.
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: No.
- 1:10:30Speaker 8: This guy doesn't have kids, so obviously he doesn't care. But,
- 1:10:34Speaker 8: you know, a lot of us do. And I feel
- 1:10:37Speaker 8: like when you're decorating your house for Halloween, you should
- 1:10:41Speaker 8: have some kind of consideration for the people who have
- 1:10:44Speaker 8: to look at it every day.
- 1:10:46Speaker 7: Anyway.
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: Yep yep so what so you're okay so you think
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: they're too scary.
- 1:10:54Speaker 8: They're way too scary you know like my my daughter
- 1:10:58Speaker 8: who's almost nine you know the other night she was
- 1:11:01Speaker 8: crying because she was scared to sleep in her own
- 1:11:04Speaker 8: bed and it was because of this this creepy goat
- 1:11:08Speaker 8: head this guy has in his.
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: Yard Okay, goat heads.
- 1:11:12Speaker 8: And it makes horrifying noises when you walk by it, right?
- 1:11:17Speaker 8: So I finally had enough. You know, I got her
- 1:11:21Speaker 8: back to sleep. I walked down the street, grabbed the
- 1:11:23Speaker 8: stupid goat head, and threw it in a trash can
- 1:11:26Speaker 8: at the park. Not even my own trash can because
- 1:11:29Speaker 8: I don't want them to find it.
- 1:11:30Speaker 10: Oh, my God.
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: Now, okay. I get it.
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: I'm not going to lie.
- 1:11:36Speaker 8: It felt great.
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: It's extreme.
- 1:11:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: It is extreme because then you have to deal with
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: the repercussions of like how you parent because your kid
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: is scarred by this stuff they're seeing. Just trying to
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: walk to school. Some of it's intense.
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: You're saying that's extreme. I'm saying it's extreme stealing his decorations. Yeah,
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: that's what I'm talking about.
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: Well, that's extreme too, but like.
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: I don't condone stealing.
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: I've taken a couple other things, too. You have taken more.
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: I've taken a couple other things, too. He has no
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: idea that you're doing this. Now, obviously, stealing's not right.
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: No.
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: I mean, come on. I'm not saying you're doing the
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: right thing. As a parent, I can understand, but is
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: this not an opportunity to talk to your daughter or
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: your kids and be like, hey, this isn't real?
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: Still, though, that's hard.
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: I know. I mean, I went through it, too. But
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: I just don't know if you could change the world
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: because of your kid. And I'm not saying that guy's
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: doing the right thing. But I'm just.
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: Saying the goat head.
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: What happens if you get caught? It's not worth that.
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: Your kid's going to see you go to jail.
- 1:12:30Speaker 8: Yeah, stealing is wrong, but I also think there's a
- 1:12:33Speaker 8: point where people need to be considerate of the neighbors. Like,
- 1:12:37Speaker 8: Halloween's supposed to be fun, not something that gives little
- 1:12:40Speaker 8: kids nightmares, you know?
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:12:42Speaker 8: And, yeah, she's still, you know, my daughter's still scared
- 1:12:45Speaker 8: of the house, and, like, you know, he's still putting
- 1:12:47Speaker 8: up more decorations, so.
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: Well, what about going to talk to him first before
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: you steal stuff and tell him the situation?
- 1:12:54Speaker 8: That's the thing. Like, he's the kind of guy that if,
- 1:12:56Speaker 8: you know, if you were trying to have like a
- 1:12:58Speaker 8: civil conversation with him, like it would get ugly pretty quick.
- 1:13:01Speaker 8: So there's kind of like no point there.
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:13:05Speaker 8: I know people are going to say I'm wrong, but like,
- 1:13:07Speaker 8: I think there's a limit, you know, to how scary
- 1:13:10Speaker 8: it is. You should be allowed to make your house real.
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: I don't want blood squirting out onto the sidewalk.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: Hold up. But it's his house. He can do what
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: he wants to with his house. It's his house. He
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: owns it. It's Halloween. I think Halloween is. No, I know.
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: Like Halloween night. If you want to put all this
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: hairy stuff and squirt blood everywhere and have a fog
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: machine like do you. But I think like weeks leading
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: up blood everywhere and like guts.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: But Halloween is different to different people. It's not like
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: Christmas where we all can kind of agree what that's
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: all about.
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: Halloween, it's supposed to be scary, spooky, and spirits. I mean,
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: I guess we're going to put up the most friendly
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: ghost ever. Casper. There's Casper. In your front yard. If
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: that's not what you're into, okay. But I understand where
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: you're coming from. Yeah. I'm going to see what people
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: think because, I mean, I don't know. That's a good–
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: because Candace obviously thinks that– I'm not saying you agree
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: with theft.
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: No, I don't.
- 1:14:02Speaker 7: Vandalism.
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: But some of it's gone way too far. Like our
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: old house, somebody sent me a picture of it, one
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: of our old neighbors, and the new homeowners had like–
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: A truck parked in the driveway. It had a dead
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: body basically hanging out of the back and then blood
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: all over the driveway.
- 1:14:18Speaker 5: Oh. Yeah.
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: I could not believe it.
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: That's awesome. I grew up in Detroit, so that just
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: feels like home.
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: I mean, obviously it was like a stuffed, you know,
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: they just stuffed the clothes or whatever of the thing,
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: but like the blood and stuff, we don't need that.
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: Yeah, we do.
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: Halloween night, go for it.
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: So why'd he die if there's no blood?
- 1:14:37Speaker 5: God.
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. Why is this guy slumped over in the truck?
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: He got scared to death.
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: Oh, he's sleeping, honey.
- 1:14:43Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:14:44Speaker 5: No.
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: Well, sir, I'm going to see what people think. Very
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: interesting secret. I mean, fascinating. And I think it's going
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: to cause some people to talk about it. So let's
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: get into these. I'm already seeing people call. So we'll
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: get to them. And thank you for your confession.
- 1:14:59Speaker 8: Absolutely.
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: A little too scary for Candace Lopez, though. A little bit.
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: Then you really were terrified of Thrillvania.
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. For sure.
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: Mix 102.9, Appeal of the Kid, Candace Lopez, Producer Pooh.
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: We're about to get out of here. We'll see you later.
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: I have a great day. Enjoy this beautiful weather. Don't
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: worry about the Cowboys. They're going to figure it out
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: by noon. They are?
- 1:15:21Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: I just got word. They told you? Yeah. Jerry just
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: flew over and dropped me a note in his helicopter.
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: He said, I think he's on his way to fire everyone. Oh, God.
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: Joking, I think.
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: No, I don't know. Who knows?
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: Waterboy getting fired. Oh, not the Waterboy. Everyone's getting fired.
- 1:15:35Speaker 7: No.
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: He did good. Two and four. The Waterboy did? Yeah. Well,
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: then put him on the field.
- 1:15:40Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: Can he play quarterback?
- 1:15:42Speaker 7: Maybe.
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: All right, Candace, what do you got going on today?
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: I'm going to vote today.
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: I'm good for you. It's kind of boring sounding, but
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: you got to do it.
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: Yeah, first day.
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: Of early voting.
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I forgot it's the first day. All right. I know. Poo,
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: what are you doing?
- 1:15:53Speaker 4: I'm going to get some blueberries because y'all told me
- 1:15:55Speaker 4: about this health hack.
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: It's not a health hack. For my yogurt.
- 1:15:59Speaker 4: Because I don't eat yogurt, and now I'm starting to.
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: And I want to put all the good things in there. Well,
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: that's good. Okay. All we said was poo is getting,
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: so we're trying to get poo. You know, he wants
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: to eat better. We're trying to help him out here
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: and there. Right. But poo is the guy for years
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: that would eat a salad, then put like, I don't know,
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: 2000 calories of ranch on it.
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: I mean, a salad, sunflower seeds. So I told him
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: that yogurt to get, he likes it, but then he's
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: like putting sugary granola in it. And I'm like, well,
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: don't do that. So then he got better granola. Good.
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: And then Candace Lopez told him, well, put some blueberries
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: in it. And you would have thought you just told
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: him how electricity worked.
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: Well, he said, I'll wait until I finish the bag
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: of granola, and then I'll get blueberries.
- 1:16:39Speaker 5: I'm like, why?
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: Just put everything in there.
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: Yeah, Candace said, add them both. And I was like, what?
- 1:16:45Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: I didn't know I could do that. He said you
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: could do both?
- 1:16:48Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: Eat as many blueberries as you want.
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: There you go. Yeah, I'm down. I am going to
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: celebrate my dog's birthday. It's Trigger's birthday today.
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: Oh, happy birthday, Trigger.
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: Here we go. What do you mean, here we go?
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: Did you get him a cake? He's going to get
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: a cake. Good.
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: He should.
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: That dog eats better than I do. Oh, that's for sure.
- 1:17:05Speaker 6: Really?
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: You know what? I don't care what you say, Pooh.
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: Celebrating your dog's birthday is a must.
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: Yep. A hundred percent.
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: You don't have a dog.
- 1:17:16Speaker 8: I know.
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: I know. I know. I mean, I'm telling you. You
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: can say whatever you want, but it's something. I'm doing it.
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: You should. Every year.
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: We celebrate Brewsters. We got him ice cream this year.
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: What song are you going to sing when you see him?
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: I'm going to sing him Happy Birthday. I'm going to
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: put it online, too.
- 1:17:29Speaker 5: Good.
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: I'm going to do it on my story, and he's
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: going to be sitting at the table like a human.
- 1:17:32Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: What a good boy. So you can hate all you want.
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: I'm not hating. He deserves it. You know he deserves it.
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: He's a good dog. By the way, do you hear
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: this in the background?
- 1:17:40Speaker 8: I do.
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: Hold on. We have like a, I don't know what's
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: going on, but we have a new vent or something
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: above our heads.
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: Is that there Friday?
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: I don't know, but I hear it in the background.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: It's like.
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: Sounds like Poo's ex-breathing. Or like a Tesla. Or one
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: of those Teslas over my head.
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: The Roadster?
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: The Roadster's over my head right now.
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: Thrusters are on?
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: Yeah, something's going on. All right, we'll see you tomorrow.
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: Have a good day.
- 1:18:04Speaker 5: Bye.
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: Bye.
